Why hello there, TKOY here!
Just want to give a quick message to say thank you! I have made a lot of progress since I first started, and I hope to make improvements in the future!
Now then, onto the pixel art
JOIN THEM!
Yes, I did two version, so what?
What is the darkness like?
I've gotten used to it, though I feel as if a normal being would not survive such a sudden change. You got to progress slowly, going down each layer, whittling down, until . . .
It's cold, lonely, scary, yet it's comfortable, freeing, safe . . .
There's nothing else I can give as an answer, other than I miss The Abyss- Oh, and say hi to Abbi when you come down through The Abyss, she was nice. Perhaps you can stop there?
Regardless, if you do continue, if you do like Sunfish, then welcome to the cult!
Welcome to the darkness!
(P.S. Not an actual cult, don't worry)
Notes:
Despite how cracked up this may be, you can still tell me how I can improve or give advice on my pixel art, or you can give me requests, and I could also write a little story/idea about it.
Oh, you can provide a prompt/idea, I can write about it and put it with some pixel art! Please not, no explicit stuff, no other ships (Sorry), and no fetishes. I'm probably missing something, but I'll let you know if you put a comment down.
I'll also answer any questions, maybe even provide a chapter with pixel art!
Please note, it might take my a while to do pixel art and/or write
Chapter 2: Why I like Sunfish
Summary:
To those who asked, even though most you of probably don't, here's why I like Sunfish

Chapter Text
It's Cris
The end :)
in all seriousness, for some reason, I like Cris a lot. In a lot of fics, she’s usually depicted as a bubbly, friendly, extroverted person with a love for the ocean, however, she can be serious when it’s needed. Also, the item she gives to Sunny, the seashell necklace, the one which boosts stats in real life is very interesting to me, and has a lot of, uh . . . Deeper meanings? I don’t know, but there’s something about it that just get my mind racing.
Oh, also plus, Cris had met Sunny before he shut it, so it could very well lead to some previous interactions, and they aren't strangers that have to learn each other from the very start! Of course, there might be some set up, but I still find it interesting that Cris and Sunny met.
Proof that Cris somewhat knows Sunny: https://cdn.pixilart.com/photos/large/24a444ddae47b9c.png
So why not make a fic about Cris?
Trust me when I say that I have thought about it before, but -
1: I don't want to write any one shots, nor anything that's less than 10 000 words, unless it's a special case like gifts, which means that writing a fic about Cris is unlikely.
2: Well . . . In terms of Cris' personality, that’s as far as it goes . . . except for her parents, her blue hair, and the fact that she went to boarding school. Whatever, Just carry on!
Anyways, then there’s Sunny who is a depressed dude that needs hug. Well, Cris is here to help Sunny. Yeah, there can be a lot of interesting stories when it comes to the different personalities between Cris and Sunny, although some might not find them that unique or good, and some might need to go to OOC territory, but I just feel . . . Great? Whenever I read them.
IDK, but I wish for more Sunfish!
You hear me? More Sunfish!
Be the change in the world? Pal, I've tried 11- No, 12 times already! So . . .
I mean . . . Look, I'm giving you all of these ideas, and I'm asking you for anything I could write/draw, but why can't you wright it yourself?
Just to let you know, I'm actually kidding, I'm not expecting any of you to do anything. Heck, I request that you don't force yourself just to write something for me. You do whatever you want, hate on me, create something else, do a different thing, live your life, etc.
Please, despite my desperation for my Sunfish, don't, unless you REALLY want to!
Anyways, ignoring my cries of desperation, I hope this give you insight into why I like Sunfish!
Now then, let me give you one last thing, okay?
. . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
No?
Why?
You know what, I'm going to give it anyways >:D
Notes:
I don't like Cris' hand, but I'm not sure what to do about it.
Regardless, have a nice day!
Chapter 3: Strangest Gifts (Crack)
Summary:
Sunny likes Cris, and decides to get a gift suited for her and confess to her.
No, not seashells, though that was a choice. No, nothing ordinary like flowers or chocolate. Something that's in Othermart that is a bit strange . . .
What it is? Well read and find out!

Chapter Text
Getting the perfect gift for someone you like was tough, and the thought of giving it brought anxiety. Sure, there might be no "perfect" gift, but goddammit Sunny is going to try regardless. Of course, when he gets this gift, he's probably going to be scared and run away.
No, that's no time to think about this sort of stuff! Maybe when he gets the gift, he could tell himself that there's no turning back? Actually, that makes him not want to get the gift now! Goddammit!
Okay, calm down, focus, persist . . . There, now where was he?
Right, getting a gift to the one he likes, not a childhood friend, though they did meet a few times in their childhood. Someone who has provided him with kindness, and a smile that brightens his day.
Her name was Cris, and she was a blue haired girl with olive green eyes.
It seemed strange how they met. Sunny and his friend, Kel, sort of busted into her room one day, and she talked about boarding school. Kel asked if she had some advice for moving since Sunny was going away, and she suggested something that could remind him of Faraway. One thing led to the other, and Sunny collected a bunch of seashells for her, and she created a seashell necklace.
This gift was something that Sunny cherished and kept close to him, even in present day. He also felt a strange bond between him, the seashell necklace, and Cris. He didn't know what it was, but he didn't question it.
It wasn't the kindest thing Cris had done as when Sunny went to the hospital, she and her family gave him flowers, but not only that, she visited him, providing him company and talking to him about stuff for hours. Even when there was nothing, she still sat by him until he got better. When he the doctors said he was good to go, and he was leaving, Cris provided him with a phone number, and let's just say that Sunny may have used up all his data 2 or 3 times.
Regardless, he visited her and vice versa, and one day, they spent a day at the beach, which was something not too far from Sunny's house. Anyways, they spent the day together, just casually chatting, until he noticed something.
On the sand was a seashell, and he picked it up for Cris. He gave it to her, and she smiled, hugging him, luckily not breaking his seashell necklace. However Sunny was more focused on the warmth, how his ears were heating up, his heart beating faster. When they break from the hug, she was smiling widely, and he thought of how cute it was, and how he also wanted to kiss-
Oh, he now likes Cris . . . Whelp!
Thankfully it seemed that Cris hadn't noticed, though this remained true for the entire day- No, even in the present, he still likes Cris.
It didn't annoy him, though he wanted to do something about it in case he had another Aubrey situation again (Trust him, he did NOT want another Aubrey situation!)
So, after contemplating for months, he decided to get a gift and confess to Cris.
Which brings us to the present day where Sunny is contemplating on the perfect gift since he didn't want to ruin his chances, though the fact that he was anxious really hindered him.
Regardless, he was going to get it anyways. Now, what should he get? A seashell? No, Cris already has enough anyways. Nothing simple, so that removes flowers, chocolate, and jewellery. Though maybe the jewellery could be sea related? Hmm, sea related . . .
For whatever reason, Sunny got an idea; A stupid, crazy, insane, idea, but for whatever reason, Sunny wanted to do it. His mind is screaming no, Cris would laugh at him, or get angry, bur his heart is over powering him . . . Maybe it wasn't his heart, and he had finally gone delusional? Perhaps some god was up there telling him to do this so that he can find out the truth that Cris doesn't like him?
Still, for whatever reason, Sunny will get this gift, and it doesn't matter how dumb it was, he was going to do it anyways!
First though, after putting on his seashell necklace and going to Faraway, he needs to go to Othermart.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Fighting off the flies was not easy, but he had done it! Now then, after collecting his reward, it's time to buy his gift.
But what was it? A casual, sane person would ask- In fact, regardless of who you are, then I'm sure you're curious.
Well . . .
He heads to the fish section.
The fish section? Is he going to buy some fish to feed some cats? Perhaps the cats will get his gift?
As fun as that would be, and as much as Sunny loves feeding the cats, no, he's not going to. Yes, he is going to buy fish, but . . .
It was for Cris.
That was his gift.
What? Is he insane? Mayhaps, but Sunny wanted to do it, and you don't have any control!
Regardless, going up to the fish lady, and barely managing to figure out what she's saying, he gets the fish. To an outsider, it was ordinary, but Sunny, he felt as if he was holding the weight of a shark- No, whale! Maybe it secretly was? Perhaps science has developed a way for food to look small, yet weigh 10 times the amount they actually are.
Still, Sunny carries it with his two hands. Of course, he can't just keep it out, so he hides it behind his back, exiting Othermart while getting strange looks, but he's more focused on his task.
Walking down the street, heart racing, thoughts echoing in his head with the only sound being his breathing. The world around him collapses as he carries the fish like Sisyphus pushing a rock- Okay, maybe he's exaggerating, but he's anxious as hell.
"Hey Sunny." So much so that he images a blue haired girl talking to him . . . Wait a minute, this is real life, what? "Seems like I caught you deep in thought, huh?"
Sunny snaps out of his thoughts, and stares at Cris, embarrassed by the situation. He then remembers his gift, and feels his legs become jelly and his breath hitching. He's not going to run because he doesn't feel like it, though he does wish to disappear.
"You know, there's something I need to ask you." Cris chimes up, holding something behind her back but Sunny doesn't think much of it. "What do you think about being in a relationship? Do you have any personal preference?"
"I just want them to be kind, like you." Sunny blurts out, blushing like crazy, "But uh, I don't have any personal preference, and I don't mind dating."
"Yeah, same. Just someone who I know will be there for me, like you." Cris says, making Sunny blink and put his full attention on her. "In fact, that's actually something I wanted to tell you for a while." Sunny finally notices the red on Cris' face, though chalks it up to the sun.
But . . .
"You see, whenever you're around, you bring me company, and always manage to put a smile on my face regardless of the situation." Cris confesses, "You're always there to listen or give me gifts, and I . . . I like you, Sunny."
Cris reveals the object behind her back, presenting it; It was a heart shaped box with a ribbon around it.
"Will you go out with me?"
Sunny stares, uncertain if this is real or a prank. However, looking at the beaming smile of Cris, and how reassuring it is, Sunny can confirm that none of this is fake.
Yet . . .
"I feel the same way."
Despite everything . . .
"You're always so cheerful, so kind, so patient."
Sunny's gift . . .
"And I was going to give you something but . . ."
IS A FISH!
"I feel that you're going to change you're mind."
And guess what? He reveals it to Cris.
He turns away, smiling- Why is he smiling? Why is he blushing? Okay Sunny, look at Cris. His eye turns to Cris and he spots her looking down at the fish.
It was an intense stares.
Does Cris hat-
Suddenly he was kissed, and unconsciously he kisses back, closing his eyes as well. He melts into it, feeling the warmth and joy spread throughout his body. There was something magical about it, weird yet good, not normal but still comfortable. This kiss . . . He was kissing Cris.
Cris breaks the kiss, smiling widely, "I love the gift! Sure, it's a bit weird, but it's so Sunny-like that I don't care!"
"Sunny-like?" Sunny questions, mind was still processing the kiss,
"Like, natural, creative." Cris shrugs, then waves her hands, "Ah whatever . . . Anyways, you like me too?"
"Y-Yeah." Sunny nods, still nervous, "Would you like to go out with me?"
"Of course." Cris decides like it's the easiest decision, and Sunny smiles. Cris then seems to realise something, and frowns, "Sadly, we won't be able to do anything today, but I could visit you tomorrow and we could go around the park or something."
"Um, sure." Sunny agrees, and Cris perks up.
"Great! Oh, and here." Cris swaps her and Sunny's gifts. "There we go! Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Goodbye, Cris." Sunny waves, and so does Cris as she walks away. Once she rounds the corner,, Sunny stands there, holding onto Cris' gift, still thinking about what happened.
He then decides to remove the ribbon, open the heart, and see what's inside . . .
. . .
It was a heart shaped steak.
This was a Cris-like gift, and Sunny loves it a lot!
Notes:
Prompt: Cris and Sunny being a couple, but doing strange things:
- Like instead of giving ordinary gifts, they give things like fish and steak. (Chapter reference)
- Instead of walking around the park hand in hand, they do the conga or dance.
- How about when they swim, they try and find treasure and deep sea gods?
- They also handstand while playing DDR (Don't ask how this is possible)
Chapter 4: Sunfish Highschool (Prompt/Story)
Summary:
An AU where Mari isn’t born/dies a young age, and Sunny does not live in Faraway. So that means Sunny doesn’t know Kel, Hero, Aubrey, and Basil.
Sunny goes to school one day and meets a new girl. Little did he know that his life will change for the better, but a part of him doesn't believe it will change.

Chapter Text
There was a strange sense of warmth as he wakes up in the white abyss. It wasn't Whitespace as that was usually cold with a few things laying around, but wherever he was, there was nothing, there wasn't even Abbi!
He hated being alone, yet despite no one being around, he was afraid, in fact he felt a strange but familiar presence, one that provided him with comfort. What was it? No, who was it?
"Hello?" He calls out, voice echoing. He walks . . . He doesn't know where, but his steps felt certain, like he knew where to go despite not seeing anything.
"Hello, it's good to see you." A voice, a familiar one despite never hearing it before speaks. "You know, I'm sad how things are, I wish I was there for you."
He also felt sad, how did this feminine voice already effect him? "Who are you?"
"I'm no one important to you . . ." The voice sighs, sounding like a truth and a lie. That sort of thing is something Sunny dislike where they can say something, and when you agree, they mean the other thing. However, it felt different, like this person can be important, but can't. It made more sense in his head than spoken out.
"Where am I?" Sunny looks around, hoping to see anything, though everything was white.
"It's how I manged to connect to you; Think of it like a bond between life and death, and if I don't help you, then I'm stuck here." The voice explains and Sunny frowns.
"Okay, and what do you want?" A part of him didn't want this person to go; He wanted to help them, tell them he missed them. He didn't know why he felt this way for someone he met.
"I . . . I want you to live, and be happy . . . Genuinely happy!" The voice basically begs, "Please, I want to know that you'll stay safe without my interference; I fear for you."
He . . . He didn't know what to say; Someone caring about him? His mother gives him food, clothes, and a roof, but that's about it, his friends don't know what pain he goes through, and the bullies, god the bullies!
And yet . . .
Despite how preposterous it seemed . . .
"I promise."
He is willing to do it.
"Good . . . I believe someone you will meet will help you immensely!"
Before he could ask, he help himself slipping, so instead he enquires, "Will we meet each other again?"
"Yes we will, brother."
And Sunny wakes up, blinking. He turns to the clock and notices that his alarm will go in a few minutes. He switches it off, then realises how refreshed he felt. When was the last time he felt like that when he woke up? He couldn't think of the answer, so instead he gets out of bed, and heads out of his room.
"Morning mom." Sunny greets as his mother as she puts on her shoes.
"Morning Sunny, did you have a good sleep." His mother asks and he shrugs.
"I had a dream . . ." Strangely, he can't remember it, "Anyways, I'll go get breakfast, see you mom."
He heads to the kitchen and serves himself cereal. He hears his mother leave for work as he heads to the dining room and sits down, alone . . .
He always hated being alone, so he quickly eats his breakfast, puts it in the sink, and heads to his room to get dressed for school. It was a Monday, so the cycle continues. He didn't know if he was looking forward to it, or dreading it. Most likely both.
Regardless, after getting changed, he goes to the bathroom, refreshes himself, and brushes his teeth. After checking it was minty fresh, he gets his school bag, grabs his keys, phone, and wallet, and heads out of the house.
As he does all of this, a new girl travels to school.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Walking down the hallways, Sunny puts his head down to hopefully get less attention. He bumps into a few people, getting a few annoyed looks, but overall he was safe.
Then he spots the bullies hanging around his locker, and he takes a deep breath and walks faster, preying that he isn't spotting. He goes past them with his heart racing and breath short, and somehow, he gets past them without a sweat.
Huh, strange he- "Hey!" Okay, so he wasn't lucky. Sunny let's go of his breath, breathing normally as he turns to the bullies, who all grin at him like he's a joke; He already was one. "So, you heard about the new chick?"
Casual talk? That was strange . . . Also, new chick? He didn't like the new word, but there was something else about it that felt strange. Still, Sunny replies, "No, I did not."
"Heh, well it doesn't matter, She's going to be under my arms, watching your pathetic ass!" The bullies laugh and Sunny holds back his eye roll. He turns around- "Hey, we're not done with you yet." Sunny turns back around. "I want you to understand pal that you should be thankful for what you have."
What? What was the bully saying? Sunny would gladly choose to run away from the bullies if he had the chance . . . In fact, he wanted to run away from life! Anyways, before Sunny could speak, the bell rings, and the bullies head to class. Sunny finally sighs, and heads to his own classroom.
After bumping into a few more people, he reaches his room, and enters . . . He spots a blue haired girl sitting in the corner near the window where he normally sits. He honestly felt it was good compromise because of how pretty she was. Wait, he hadn't met her yet! Also, no one would be interested in him!
Shaking his head, he heads over to the seat beside her, and once he reaches the chair, he say, "H-Hello."
God, he already stutter! The girl is going to laugh and- "Hey there, name's Cris!" Oh, she was nice, that's rare.
"S-Sunny." And yet he still doesn't have the social skills! Regardless, he sits down, sorting his stuff out.
"Nice to meet you Sunny, so are you willing to show me around?" Cris asks and that got Sunny to consider it.
"Um . . . It'd probably be better if someone else helped you, I'm not . . ." Popular, safe to stick around, someone you should talk to- Damn, this list can go on and on!
"Oh come on, you don't believe in yourself? I bet you know the ins and outs of the school, even the tunnels in the janitors closet." Cris simply smiles as Sunny frowns at her.
"Um . . . There's no tunnels in the janitor's closet." Sunny tells her and she points at him.
"See, you know that!" Cris smiles like she won, and honestly Sunny can't be bothered any more.
"Alright fine, I'll help you." Sunny shakes his head as Cris pumps her fist. What's so exciting about a tour anyways? And besides she shouldn't hang out with him, something that she will find out very quickly!
Before they could say anything else, the teacher walks in, and the class quiets down. The teacher introduces Cris, telling everyone to treat her with kindness before staring the class. The teacher in question was one that Sunny had little interactions with, so he wasn't sure what the teacher will do.
That was until the teacher came around the class, and put seashells and string on their desk, asking everyone to pair up. Sunny was already disliking the teacher, wondering who to go with since none of his friends were here-
"Let's join up Sunny, if you want to of course." Cris chimes up, snapping Sunny out of his thoughts."
"Uh . . . Sure." Sunny agreed, internally glad to have someone kind pair up with him -He was totally not blushing, nope!- Cris stands, and Sunny scoots over as Cris walks beside him.
"You know, I went to boarding school by the beach, and they taught us a lot of things, including tying seashell necklaces." Cris tells him, and Sunny is impressed.
"Really? Well I'm not letting you do all the work." Now Sunny was really glad to have someone like Cris with him, though he didn't want to use her. "So, how do we do this?"
"Alright, well grab the seashells and . . . I'll show you first before telling you, okay?" Cris says and Sunny nods reaching his arms out. Cris gets her own seashell and puts the string around it with easy, in fact she was doing more. Sunny was impressed, glancing up to her, and noticing how focused she was.
She was so happy, so engaged with what she was doing, it was cute. The sun somehow bounces off her blue hair, creating an aura that made her gorgeous. She even closes her eyes, which made Sunny even more impressed by her talent, not noticing his ears turning red and his face blushing.
Suddenly, her hand brushes against his, and he snaps out of his thoughts and looks down.
"Oh sorry, I was getting carried away there." Cris chuckles awkwardly, "Anyways, let me tell you how to do it now."
"Yeah, I should do something." Sunny nods, gulping and hoping the Cris doesn't notice.
"Huh? Minty fresh breath? What, are you expecting a kiss?" Cris playfully teases and Sunny blushes more.
"Uh, no, no I don't." Sunny looks away. "Anyways, let's do this."
He was thanking whatever god was out that that Cris didn't notice his blushing, yet he still internally kicked himself.
This was going to be a long day, and the fact that he was going to have a tour with Cris is going to make this even more odd cycle.
IDEA
Just a few notes to give before I start:
- Sunny is bullied and doesn’t have his father
- Sunny is friends with two other people. Both are also bullied
- Person1 is considered a cleaning freak
- Person2 has one eye and starts a club (It’s really just them three)
- New girl comes to school called Cris
- Sunny is nervous but he introduces himself to Cris
- The whole “Mari isn’t born/dies a young age” kind of doesn’t matter because Mari visits Sunny in his dreams
The idea that I am going is a list of chapters, and it changes changes the beginning a bit. I'd say it's the most flexible thing, heck, a lot of the stuff here can easily change, though it's all to give a general idea of what could happen.
Chapters:
1.
Sunny wakes up, goes to school, gets harassed, and meets his friends, Person1 and Person2. Person1 talks about starting a club and meeting him at the room after school. A new girl is introduced called Cris and she sits down next to Sunny. He introduces himself, and shows her around the school, however, at the end, some bullies tell Cris to stop hanging out with Sunny, but Cris denies and tells them to go away or they get kicked in the nuts. This deters the bullies, and Sunny thanks her.
2.
Sunny introduces Cris to Person1 and Person2 during break, Person1 brings the club up again, and Cris decides to join. Lunch time, Cris hangs out with Sunny, Sunny gets tripped, it’s the bullies again, and they tell how she shouldn’t hang out with a loser, Cris then promptly kicks them in the nuts, saying that she told them so.
3.
After school, Cris, Person1, Person2, and Sunny all hang out at the club, just chilling. Person2 and Cris go home, while Person1 and Sunny talks, Person1 brings up that Sunny seems interested in Cris, but Sunny denies.
4.
Some sort of filler chapter (Maybe 2) Sunny play violin as a hobby in one of these chapters.
5.
It’s gym and Sunny sees Cris swimming, of course, he’s called a creep for looking, and told that since he can’t swim, he will never have her.
6.
Filler chapter (Or not. It could just move on to the next point)
7.
Club meeting where they all exchanges phone numbers and text each other with Cris and Sunny private messaging.
8.
Filler chapters (Note there could be more chapters in these filler sections, however to make it easier, I'm going to assign one.)
9.
Cris introduces a friend named Kel, Sunny jealous, but Kel seems to not notice, just being friendly. However, when they are alone, Kel asks why Sunny is mad, did he do anything wrong? Sunny denies, but Kel is persistent, so Sunny tells him that he likes Cris, and Kel tells him to not worry about it.
10.
Filler chapters.
11.
Cris finds out that Sunny doesn’t know how to swim and offers him a lesson; Sunny thinks it’s a trick, but Cris reassures him. Sunny is then taught by Cris and they are alone together, however, bullies strike, and Sunny passes out.
12.
Sunny hears a piano and an unfamiliar voice, they speak to him, but before he could see them or get their name, Sunny wakes up to Cris performing CPR.
13.
Bullies are promptly expelled (?), Cris comforts Sunny, Sunny can’t thank her enough for what she’s done, and Sunny asks what he can do for her. Cris hesitates and blushes before asking if he will have more swimming lessons with her and that’s all she wants, Sunny agrees.
14.
Filler chapters. (Probably like five here, but once again, I'm assigning one for simplicity sake)
15.
Sunny or Cris confesses their feelings and they go on a date to a funfair.
16.
Fluff filler chapters. About five, and in the last one, Cris encourages Sunny to play violin.
17.
Eventually, Sunny is introduced to Aubrey, Hero, and Basil.
18.
Filler chapters.
19.
Bullies want revenge, Sunny gets knocked out and meets the familiar person again. “We were never siblings, but we’re still connected as if we are.”
20.
Sunny signs up for a school show after the encouragement from his girlfriend. Sunny is going to play the violin.
21.
More filler chapters and Sunny practicing the violin.
22.
Sunny thinks he can’t do it, but a dream encourages him, and he needs to fight his anxieties.
23.
End with Sunny playing the violin, and Cris hugging and kissing him, saying how proud she is
Might be more chapters or not, but that's the end! Let me know what you think!
Notes:
Probably my most detailed prompt that I just have lying on my computer. I'm not sure if I'll do the whole chapter numbering thing, but . . . Honestly, I wasn't sure where I was going with that.
Chapter 5: Clothing Swap/Soul Mate AU (Prompt and questions)
Summary:
Having a soul mate is a strange thought, like there's one person out there that you will feel complete love with?
Well, what if having a soul mate was rare with some simply living there life and finding love without a single soul mate, and what if perhaps this soul mate connection was bit stranger than usual
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Soul mates, what a strange thing. Who deserves soul mates? How varied are they? Can soul mates appear for the worst pair? The worst people? And age . . .
Sunny skipped that part in a book, already cringing at the thought. He couldn't believe the teacher decided to give a task all about soul mates, it made him feel weird, almost targeted, but Sunny knew better that the teacher had no clue what he had done.
Still, the thought of soul mates- Heck, love, it made him wonder if he deserved it. Weirdly enough, he felt that the book will give him answers. Perhaps it gives soul mates based on certain things like interactions, things both people did, similarities, etc.
Hmm, he wondered if someone had a soul mate, but the soul mate wasn't connected to them. Ooh, that could be a good discussion on the task! Sunny writes that down before going back to the book, and flipping a page.
Two people can be connected, though it is uncertain what way. Do souls exist? Is it some universal force? Fate? God? Something entirely else? Researchers have asked many people who are connected though soul mates what they feel, and the answers is almost always a tug on their 'soul' with few saying a tug on the heart. Maybe the soul is located there, but we will never be certain.
Sunny nods at that, tapping his chin as he thinks about what happens if a person has a heart transplant. Another note to write dawn Sunny supposed, and after that, he gets back to reading.
Studies show that getting a soul mate always happens after the person wakes up from a sleep with no one around; Of course, there is no way to properly test if you have to be in a room alone in order to get a soul mate, but everyone said there were no one else around them or in another room where they weren't visible.
Setting up cameras around people's room does sound weird to Sunny, so it makes sense why no one would no what happens during this process . . . Actually, what happens.
Regardless, when the person wakes up, their clothes will change. This is how people usually describe it as. Person 1 is confused at first, but then are reminded that the clothes they are wearing are usually what person 2 wears, and that person 2 is wearing the clothes of person 1.
This effect is not permanent, though the person is unable to take the clothing off for a day. Once 24 hours has past, the clothing can be removed, though the soul mate connection is still made. In fact, it's made right when the person wakes up with their clothes changed.
Huh, interesting. Sunny wonders if other people know about this, in fact Sunny is pretty sure he hasn't seen another person have a sudden change of clothes. Guess he should write that down quickly, and get back to reading.
However, when he takes note Sunny yawns and glances at the time. 10PM already? Not so late, but it is bed time. Closing his book, he stands from his desk, turns to lamp off, and climbs into his bed.
. . .
Hmm, Sunny felt weird, in fact, he felt like he was dreaming.
He was swimming? Sunny wasn't certain, it was dark, but he could feel the water around him.
Was he drowning? No, he breathed perfectly fine, and he wasn't panicking. In fact, there was an aura of calmness coming from . . . In front of him?
Perhaps he should open his eyes- Eh, eye . . . Wait actually, both eyes . . . Huh.
Deciding that's a good decision, his eyelid peered, and he saw the most beautiful sigh.
Someone with flowing blue hair which had the sun shining down on it, creating an angelic halo. They had a pink sleeved shirt that looked very comfy, and for some reason, Sunny knew there was something in front of the shirt like a logo, more specifically, a really simple drawing of a man. The blue jeans didn't seem too tight, and despite not being his normal attire, Sunny felt like wearing them. Lastly is the blue sneakers, which may be big, but he wanted to walk around in them. Perhaps there were socks to, but Sunny couldn't see them.
Regardless, Sunny felt a pull from his heart, and following it, he swam forward, becoming more and more enamoured by the person. Who was it? Maybe he'll figure it out.
Reaching his arm out as his legs kick, Sunny felt in pure bliss as he sighs longingly and lovingly, not caring about his previous thoughts of him not deserving love. It may sound selfish, but he doesn't care.
Soon, getting very close to the person, the thought of this being a soul mate crosses Sunny's mind. However, that wasn't what was said in the book . . . Though he hadn't read far into the book.
Whatever, he'll read more in the morning, but right now, his hand brushes against the shoulder, and the person twists bother their body and head around, olive green eyes meeting his deep brown ones.
This person . . . It was . . .
Sunny wakes up, feeling refreshed and comfy. That dream he had was a strange one, what . . . What was it?
Huh, he doesn't remember . . . Well, Sunny knows that it wasn't a bad one, though he was curious what happened. Oh, and considering how Sunny felt like his mind wasn't repressing, he wonders how he can remember.
Regardless, he shakes his head, and gets out of bed before frowning. Shoes? No, sneakers? He wore them to bed? Also his leg . . . His jeans???
Throwing the covers off, his eyes widen in confusion as he stares down on himself. His clothes, they were so familiar, so . . .
They were someone else's, someone that he knows. He may have not spoken that much to them, but they helped him a lot when he moved.
Sunny stands as he a strange feeling courses through his veins.
These clothes . . .
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Yesterday was strange, and it all started when she went to school.
Apparently, two people had swapped clothing and could not take it off. Weirdly, the teachers did not give them any punishment, and in fact, they had a sort of knowing look like something special between these two had happened, and only the teacher understood the meaning behind it.
So she decided to research it by going to the library and asking about it, and what she found was something that she thought only existed in fairy tails.
Soul mates.
She never read far into the book, still thinking about the two people she knew, wondering what happens to them now. In fact, there was another person who had a crush on one of them. She's wonders how they are feeling, though thinking back on it, they didn't seem fazed by it, likely unknowing what it meant.
It was still strange nevertheless, and she hopes that it will all be sorted out.
Regardless, she climbs into bed, and falls asleep.
For some reason she felt like she was underwater, and although she panicked for a moment, she felt calm, almost knowing that she wasn't going to drown.
Then she sensed something coming from behind, something warm and comforting, something she wanted to hug and smile genuinely, something that made her heart gravitate towards.
Then he shoulder was gently touched, and she turns around.
There was a boy with deep brown eyes that she could stare at for hours, raven hair with a cute cowlick, a white shirt with a black vest over it that she wanted to try on, light brown shorts that looked very comfy, long white socks that were thin yet seemed soft, and black shoes that looked very stylish and she wondered what it would be like to walk in those shoes.
In fact, this boy . . . It reminded her of . . .
Cris wakes up, feeling refreshed and comfy. It weird, but good, and Cris felt ready for the day!
With a smile, she throws off the covers and stands up from her bed.
Huh, these clothes . . . They looked very familiar . . .
Hold on just a minute.
These . . .
This . . .
Wait . . .
Was this Sunny's clothes?
In the city, Sunny wondered why he was wearing Cris' clothes.
So, clothing swap art, and a soul mate AU idea. IDK what my mind thought, but I've always wanted to make their clothes swap. I nearly made Sunny's hair blue and giving Cris an eyepatch, but those were thrown out.
Anyways, I kind of want to explore this a bit, perhaps ask questions to you, and maybe you'll answer them in the comments, or maybe . . . Make a fic about it?
Nah, this is just me rambling. Anyways, let me start!
So, Cris and Sunny clothe swap and are soul mates. However, what if two other characters are soul mates? What if this soul mate happens whilst one is dating? Do you think they will break up to be together?
I kind of want to explore two people who are connected through soul mates, however one still dates someone that is not their soul mate. I guess you could say it's unrequited, so maybe some won't like the idea of it.
Okay, what about an imperfect soul mate connection? Like despite being soul mates, they aren't perfect for each other.
For some reason, I have mixed feelings for that. Making it so that the soul mates is the best thing is like . . . Well I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's not really what I want? Like, what if a person has a soul mate, but doesn't feel ready for dating them, and they wish to get to know the person better before dating. Also, what happens if they were dating, but something tragic happens.
One more thing, could soul mates happen online? I'd think you'd have to see the person at the very least. Even then, that doesn't feel that much.
Honestly, this could go on, but I'll leave these thoughts to you.
Now then, onto some questions relating to Sunfish and me.
How many ideas do I have of Sunfish?
IDK, probably 10, then I'll write like . . . 2 of them? If you count poly, 3??? And if you count . . . Let's just say I have a plan to do something before a fic that I have been dying to write for a LONG time, and it may just be . . . Well, it'll be a while before I post again.
Thoughts on other ships that are not Sunfish?
Gosh that's a whole can of worms, and I am not touching it.
Let me just tell you it's fictional characters, and every ship has the right to exists as long as it follows legal standards.
Sunny/Kel, Sunny/Aubrey/ Sunny/Mincy, Sunny/Basil, heck, Sunny/The Maverick. All of them, I'm fine with it because I do not care since it's fictional.
Cris/Kel, Cris/Aubrey, Cris/Mincy, Cris/Basil, Cris/The Maverick, Cris/Abbi (Really based BTW). Once again, fictional.
I do not condone proships, older/younger, and blatantly illegal/unhealthy ships.
Bottom line, as much as I LOVE Cris/Sunny, in the end, it's not real, though shipping real together is weird.
Honestly, I'm not sure where this thought is going, so let's move on.
What would happen if Cris never existed?
Then I wouldn't be here, next question.
Lmao, joking.
Uh, probably not gotten into writing so much, plus pixel art would be less focused on, maybe not even existing, plus I won't be known as an insane nut. But what ship would I do? I like Mint (Basil/Mincy) So probably that, and as for Abbi . . . Yeah, Abbi will forever still unreal, so tragic.
. . .
Although . . .
I have done some regrettable things that I do not want to bring up.
I was very experimental, uncaring of some of my actions, or simply not knowing how bad certain things were. I just wanted to write my ideas and write I did, though looking back on it now, I have put them all anonymous.
Please, don't ask. It was something not too bad in my opinion, but still questionable at best.
Final question, what if Sunny didn't exist?
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
What?
Anyways, that's all. Goodbye!
Notes:
If you have any questions, leave them down in the comments because I don't think I can ask myself questions for that long . . . We'll see . . .
Whatever, still hope you enjoy this prompt

Chapter Text
"Alright, I'm stopping the boat here." The All-American Guy, AKA Cris' father, chimes up, slowing the boat down. He taps on some strange thing before nodding to himself, "Alright, we're clear to go!"
"Hold on, just getting the gear on." All American Mom, AKA Cris' mother, says while helping Sunny and Cris put on their gear. She tightens something, making sure it doesn't fall off before nodding to herself. "Okay, everything is set. Will you two be okay down there?"
"Don't worry mom, we'll be safe." Cris assures her, looking to Sunny who nods, taking a deep breath. She places a hand on his shoulder, "Hey, you don't have to do this if you don't want to?"
"No, I . . . I will do it." Sunny is determined, and Cris smiles.
"Okay, but if anything happens, signal to me okay?" Cris tells him, and he nods . Cris removes her hand, placing it on her breather that hangs from her shoulders, "Well, we're all set. When I say go, we put out breathers on, and dive backwards. You understand?"
"I understand." Sunny sits on the side, and so does Cris. He grips his breather, focusing on Cris.
"Three . . ." His heart beats out of his chest. "Two . . ." The sun shines down on the endless ocean. "One . . ." Sunny is afraid.
And yet . . .
"Go!"
He puts his breather on, and persists himself to dive backwards.
Sunny hits the water, sinking away from the water. In the corner of his eye, he spots Cris, floating elegantly, letting herself be free to the water before twisting her body. Sunny also turns, struggling a bit, but manages to finally do it.
He also realises he hasn't breathed, and taking a breath, he feels . . . Okay . . . He is okay . . . He's underwater, and he's okay . . . The thought of it makes him happy.
Cris swims in his sight, snapping him out of his state. She puts a thumbs up, and Sunny does the same. Even though Sunny couldn't see, he could tell she was smiling. Regardless, she gestures for him to follow, and he swims behind her.
It's clear to Sunny that Cris was intentionally going slaw for him, and while he is grateful to have someone so kind to him, he sometimes wishes he could catch up despite Cris not minding so much.
Still, as he trails behind her, he looks down on the ocean floor, spotting quite a lot of coral, seaweed, seagrass, and other plant based water life. There were also a few small crabs here and there, hiding amongst the coral and small holes. Sunny wonders if the crabs see him as flying before brushing the thought aside.
There was a fairly small cliff that Cris stopped, and turned around. She points, and Sunny interoperated as her wanting to go deeper, so he nods. He was right as Cris nods back, turns around, and swims downwards. He follows her, seeing a school of fish swim towards them.
A school? Let's just say Sunny was taught quite a lot of fish facts from Cris, almost enough to make her question if she was a fish, to which she said she could have been, and he had quite a laugh about it.
Anyways, the fish pass them by while a few other, different kinds of fish float nearby, simply just enjoying themselves.
If Sunny could be honest, he was enjoying himself quite a lot; it was calming, and yet beautiful, just like Cris, vast and yet so simple, like Cris, and so elegant . . . Like Cris.
Heh, let's just say that he he told Cris that, she would be a blushing mess, and then would kiss him. Maybe he'll tell her later, but for now, he'll enjoy the moment.
Sunny internally longingly sighs, looking between the ocean, Cris, and in front of him. Each and every plant, fish, and other species interested him. Then again, he built an entire Headspace section in the ocean, bet he really shouldn't compare that to his current situation.
Anyways, as they swim further in the water, Sunny notices a cave with very little life surrounding it. There was something off about it, and the fact that it was dark inside made his slightly nervous. Anything could pop out, anything could be hiding and watching. Anything-
Suddenly, a shark swims out, and Sunny flails, wanting to scream but is reminded of the breather. He spots Cris swim around him, going directly to the shark, and now Sunny is stressed out.
Why? Why is Cris sacrificing herself for him? What is she doing?
No! No time to think! He needs to do something, anything! Swim? Where? He doesn't want to go away, and yet swimming towards the shark would likely end in them both getting eaten. Fight? He's not as nimble or strong.
There most be an option, and he doesn't have much time as the shark and Cris approach each other.
However, what Sunny didn't expect was Cris simply waving at it, even the expression on her face showed no fear. In fact, if anything, the shark was afraid . . . Strange . . .
Cris gestures for him to come toward her, and this was the only time Sunny questioned her. He hesitates, looking between the shark and Cris before slowly moving forward. The shark shyly hides behind Cris, and she rolls her eyes, petting the top of it.
Sunny decides to wave at it, and it quickly twists around and shoots away, disappearing back into the cave. Cris looked disappointed, though at who or what, Sunny isn't sure.
She turns back to Sunny, who gives her a confused look, and she points upwards. Sunny nods, wanting answers, and the both swim to the surface.
Once they reach it, they both take their breathers off, and Sunny pants. "Okay, that . . . That was scary!"
"Ah don't worry, my uncle means no harm."
. . .
"Sorry, what?" Sunny is so confused as how simple Cris said that and she laughs.
"Yep, crazy, right?" Cris smiles as Sunny gets more and more baffled.
"Wait, I . . . I'm so confused." Sunny's head hurts thinking about it, "Your uncle is a shark?"
"Yep!" Cris answers, "Also, fish are my cousin."
Sunny blinks, "All of them?"
"What? No! I'm just joking." Cris says and Sunny sighs.
"Right, I just . . . I got so scared with the shark, I though it was going to kill you." Sunny admits and Cris puts her hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, don't worry about it, I'm an expert with sharks." Cris assures him. "Also, just boop them hard on the nose and you'll be fine."
"Ah, that's good . . ." Sunny still feels a bit worried, but it seems that Cris control of the situation the whole time.
"Now then, do you want to continue or go back to the boat?" Cris asks and Sunny thinks about it for a moment.
"I think we should go back to the boat, I'm quite exhausted." Sunny tells and she nods.
"Right, well we can take it easy going back." Cris assures him and he smiles.
"Thank you, Cris." Sunny pauses for a moment, "You know, you're kindness is vast like the ocean. You're also more beautiful as it."
It was very cheesy, but he was successful in making Cris blush. "Gaaahhhh, Sunny . . ." Cris wines, covering her face before huffing. "Alright, come here you." She zips towards him, and brings him in for a kiss.
They kissed together on an endless ocean, not so alone, but with nobody and nothing in sight, they felt like it was just them. The sun shines down, the water shifts, and the fish swim in-between coral as they relish in their deep and loving kiss.
They part, panting a bit, just enjoying the moment before Cris says, "There, that was for being so brave." She goes in again, kissing much quicker, though it was also a lot deeper. "And that's because I love you. Though, I would love to do a lot of kissing, but maybe later."
Cris shoots him a wink, and he blushes as Cris swims away. Sunny sighs and follows her, grateful for everything he has. He knows that the future is uncertain, but he trusts Cris to be by him side.
. . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
As he swims, he sees a fish with headphones dance, and Cris waves at it.
"Hi cousin."
"Wait wh-"
It seems that Sunny still has a lot to learn about Cris.
Cris extended family.
Okay, so this is basically crack and stuff, but here we go.
The rule is that Cris' extended family must be fish-like, so no squids or crabs are a part of it. If it is fish-like, it must be smaller than a car, so whales are removed.
Anyways, let me begin.
Cris has 10 fish cousins.
You've already met one, and that's the fish with the headphones
It be dancing to under the sea.
Next, Cris' cousin is playing . . . Fishball???
IDK, but here.
As you can see, Cris' cousin and their team are currently practicing for their next match.
The manoeuvre of going all at once is a famous one, yet requires a lot of coordination.
Also, one of the fish is Cris' cousin. It's that one BTW.
. . .
What do you mean you can't see it!
Ah whatever.
Next one is pretty young, but likes to show off it's spinning move
Look at it go! I wonder if it will become a ballerina . . .
Dream big, little fish
Now, this last one is a big big, but it's Cris older cousin.
Just to let you know, that's Cris feeding it.
As for the rest, I'm uncertain what to say what Cris' cousin. I don't want it to be Nemo or Dory, but those do fit the criteria .
I also don't want her pet because that feels a bit odd.
Oh, say hi to Cris' pet, Diamond.
With that out of the way, Cris has two shark uh . . . Parent's siblings.
This first one is my favourite as it speaks to me, and I relate to it.
This was also met at the cave, though it wasn't as shy.
If Cris wasn't there, then this is the reaction.
So scaared.
Anyways, you ever heard of Left Shark?
It's a tale old as time.
For those of you who don't know, here's left shark.
Its name is Ben
I wonder if anyone will get that reference.
Whelp, that's all for now. That was some insane family tree, but yeah!
Oh, also, I had a lot of cut stuff.
Let's just say that Cris' extended family was originally more human. I'll also share some Cris lore that's scrapped
Walluigi and Wario are her cousins (Don't know the exsact term, but Grandfather's brother's (eggman) gradson))
Wallace is uncle, but isn't father of Walluigi and Wario (Mother's side)
The toriningen from Yume Nikki is like the bully cousins that come from a distant family (Not related to Gru or Eggman)
Eggman and Gru are grandfathers, but are not the parents of either Cris' parents.
Posiden is fighting against her, distracting her, yet her destiny/fate is to rule over the nine seas and become the queen and goddess of water.
Her training started at boarding school.
This is why her seashell neckless gives stat boosts in real life (She also tempered with Chimera Keychain as an attempt when first using this ability)
She also has great beings like Sunny, but only one: A dolphin called Tina (Not sure what the title should be [AKA: Abbi The Wisest, Humphrey The Oldest, The Big Yellow Cat The Favourite]) ¯\_( =) ) _/¯
Yeah, this was insane.
Regardless, I'll see you again soon!
Notes:
Now, I can finally put this Cris family tree to rest.
Chapter 7: The Chapter About Not liking . . . (April Fools)
Summary:
I am not a hero
I am not a villain
I just want to exist without anyone harassing me
I don't want to go after anyone, and anyone to come after me
Please, believe me that I didn't want to hurt you.
However, I am sorry in advance
Notes:
Art will have no background
Reminder, it was April Fools, and this is a joke.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Who do you think is the bad guy?
"Sunny, where are you?"
Is there anything you can judge it on except a bunch of biases that don't know the full story?
"Please, Sunny!"
Let me tell you that there are no good or bad people.
"God, this rain . . . SUNNY!"
There's just people.
"Sunny . . . Sunny . . ."
What if, someone who didn't want to cause harm, someone who wanted to provide good things, was hurt? Are they seen as the bad guy?
"Say something . . . Do something! ANYTHING!"
No? But what if they are? What if they are betrayed and insulted because they just didn't want to be annoying?
"You . . . Are you down here? . . . Dammit, I'll have to go through this alleyway . . ."
In the end though, this person is angered, and the person fights back because there is more to do. Sometimes, it's the only thing the person can do.
"Gah, tch! Where . . . Where . . . Where are you, Sunny?"
In such a cruel and unforgiving world, nobody is truly evil. Nobody is in the right or wrong, we just exist and use our moral judgements along with some rules.
"What was that? Sunny? . . . SUNNY!"
Maybe I shouldn't do this, maybe I'll end up like that person, only this time, I am much weaker, more alone.
I don't think I'm in the right, and I shouldn't probably do this either, but in the end, these are fictional characters . . .
"Sunny, are you okay? Your face." Cris runs to the covering boy hiding near a bin, who's clothing ripped, blood mixing in with the rain. "Don't worry, I'll help you."
"Not so fast." The low, menacing voice of someone who sounds much much older than her, speaks from behind. Cris feels goose bumps travel up her arm as footsteps approach her, "Do you want to know why I did this? It will make you reconsider your actions."
Cris gulps, look at Sunny who stares at her with his one eye. He looked so scared, hurt, alone. Cris clenches her fist, "Does it matter? You think the best course of action is to hurt him?" Cris stands and twists around, seeing the man draped in a trench coat and hat. "What did he do to deserve this? And why do you think this will make things better?"
The man shakes his head, tisking at her, "Oh you . . . Blue haired girl . . . If I don't do anything, he will hurt more, he will hurt you and your family."
"How do you know? What if he doesn't want to hurt?" Cris has no idea what's going in, but in order to get answers, she needs to protect Sunny.
"Because he took my daughter away intentionally!" The man raises his voice as he stares down at her. "He made a choice that ruined others, and because of his selfish actions, he become a monster."
"Now then, would you like to know the truth?"
He was biased with hatred towards Sunny, he could manipulate Cris into hating Sunny and abandoning him. Cris can't rely on an untrustworthy source, so she shakes her head.
"No, I do not want to know the truth! Sunny is my friend, and I know he wouldn't hurt anyone intentionally!" Cris puts her hand on her chest, eyebrows lowering as she glares at the man. "And if he hurts me, I don't care!"
"Fine, so be it." The man huffs as he crotches down. Cris realises what he was doing too late, and he lunges at her, punching her in the face.
She stumbles backwards, hitting the wall, stars covering her vision, but she still stands. Blinking her eyes, her vision clears, and she sees the man through a punch at her. She dodges, and the hand hits the wall, leaving a crack in it. This man was not to be underestimated, however, Cris sees her chance as he clutches his hand in pain.
She stomps his leg and pushes him, before grabbing Sunny's arm, and pulling him upwards. "Can you run?" Cris asks, feeling there is not much time, though luckily, Sunny nods, and Cris drags him out the alleyway.
"COME BACK HERE!" The man shouts, but Cris doesn't look back, only tightly hanging onto Sunny. She could tell Sunny was struggling based on how much he was stumbling, but she can only feel guilty later as right now it was life or death. "I'LL GET YOU ONE DAY! I HAVE PEOPLE WHO WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!"
Cris continues forward, hearing the man's voice get further and further away and yet despite that she keeps going. She does slow down a bit for Sunny, though she still looks around herself for a safe place.
Eventually, she finds a restaurant that is still open. She heads towards it immediately, hoping the man isn't there, and the people here will help them.
She approaches one of the greeters, and says to them, "Hey, we need help. Sunny's been ignored, he needs help."
The greeter perks up and nods, getting their phone and dialling in a number. Another greeter comes round, giving them a pitying looking before asking, "What are your names and how did this happen?"
"Sunny was attacked by this man in a trench coat, and well . . . I took Sunny away from the man." Cris pants, seeing Sunny stare at her in the corner of her eye. "I was luck to spot a glimpse of Sunny, it was so sudden. I was walking down the street, I saw him, then he was taken away, and I chased after them."
"Right, and did this man chase after you?" The greeter asks and Cris searches where they came from. She sees no sign on the man, so she shakes her head. The greeter is relieved, "Right . . . Good. The ambulance will be here in a few minutes, you can both wait, right?" They both nod, and the greeter smile. "Good, now if you don't mind, I have a job to do."
The greeter turns around, and goes back to controlling the group of people. The other greeter stands around, keeping an eye on them, but stays silent.
"C-Cris . . ." Sunny speaks up, voice sounding dry. Cris turns to him as he give her an odd look, "Your face . . ."
"I'm fine Sunny, although your face too . . ." Cris felt guilty pointing it out, but . . . "God, that expression . . . Are you smiling?"
"I don't like that smile."
Sunny gulps, shaking his head, "Sorry, I'm just . . ."
"No, it's fine, I shouldn't have said anything. Sorry for being rude." Cris replies with a sigh, "It's just this situation . . . Why did it happen? . . . I'm so . . . My mind can't process anything right now."
Sunny nods, understanding what Cris is saying, but looking away, "I . . . I have an idea of why this happened . . ."
Cris perks up, "Really? . . . Wait, sorry, I shouldn't ask that-"
"No." Sunny raises his voice, though he still sounded meek, "No, Cris, you deserve to know. It would at least make you know why the man is hurting me."
Before Cris could say anything, Sunny gives one look to the greeter, who has gone back to their job, though kept an eye on them, and Sunny takes a deep breath before saying.
"I have something to tell you."
I'm sorry.
Notes:
I am no hero, and if you see me as one, please explain.
I don't to be anyone's hero, nor do I want you to be angry. I just want to exist without conflict, is that so much to ask?
If you come here, telling me off, telling me this is the worst thing ever, then I think you're a bad person.
Also, happy April fools
Chapter 8: This is Me (Story)
Summary:
Sunny stares into the mirror, contemplating who he is and why he feels strange.
Maybe she could help.
Of course Cris could help, but Sunny was talking about . . . Herself . . .
Notes:
Thank you to LoneSamurai on Discord
I feel that this could work in Post-canon OMORI, but I wrote this with the mind that Mari lives, and the pixel art has Sunny without an eyepatch.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
He looked into the mirror.
It's him, Sunny.
Something felt weird about that thought, and it only started happening a year ago. Although maybe it happened much further back, but regardless he only started noticing back then when his hair dresser had to push back his appointment a month.
Who know that long hair looked good on him, and in fact he kind of wanted to keep it. However, after being accidently called Mari, his mind change, though in his heart, something remained.
It was around that time he met Cris, someone so kind, nostalgic, and bubbly that Sunny couldn't help but notice how much he liked being around her after about a few weeks of knowing her. They had met before during Kel's party, but he likes though think that they officially met about a year ago.
Anyways, Cris was the first person Sunny admitting the good feelings he got from long hair, and he was really scared about it too, but Cris was so kind and understand, and fact she suggested that pigtails would look adorable on him.
One thing led to another, and Cris gave him fake pigtails to attach, and oh boy did he love it! Of course, he was terrified for some reason, but if he had confidence, he was certain he would wear them for the whole day- no, week!
Of course, he couldn't stop thinking about, and he regularly met up with Cris to try them out some more, even walking around with them, and cook with her -She learned a few things from her parents.-
It was around half a year ago when Sunny started feeling something for Cris. Something he thought was long gone, but apparently it resurfaced a different way.
Love, or more specifically, a crush.
Since he was much older though, he could act more mature about it-
Nah, Sunny was still acting like a giddy child, and even had a few dreams about Cris that he's embarrassed to get into.
Regardless, despite thinking it would be a one and done deal, it still remains to this day, along with this feeling.
Which leads Sunny to today.
!I want to try a skirt . . ."
Sunny couldn't believe himself, why would he think like that! Regardless, after pondering over the thought of it for a month, it sounder right.
Of course, asking Cris it shook him to his core-
"Alright, I have a few."
And yet her kindness shines through again. God, why does Sunny deserve her?
Brushing the thought aside, he goes into the stands in the bathroom, looking at himself. He hasn't changed yet, and a part of him wonders if it was right.
And yet, he persisted through his internal lock.
Focusing on his hands, Sunny pulls down his shorts, and picks up Cris' blue shirt, then pulls it up his legs. Once it is on, he grabs the fake pigtails, and attaches them to the back of his head.
Afterwards, he takes a deep breath, calming himself down before looking up to the mirror.
What Sunny saw was . . .
A girl . .
Her . . .
It is her, Sunny . . .
He- She liked it- No, loves it!
It was also something that made him- Her afraid.
And . . . And . . .
"Sunny?"
Sunny is snapped out of his thoughts by the voice of Cris.
"Are you okay?"
He clenches his fist and walks to the door.
"I'm fine."
Was he really?
"In fact . . ."
He was going to change his entire life.
Sunny opens the door.
But this is . . .
"I have something to tell you, Cris."
— — — — — — — — — — — —
"How do you feel?"
"I feel . . . Good."
A female replies to a female, girl to girl, woman to woman.
"Are you dizzy? Sick? How is your stomach?"
"I just feel tired, but that's about it."
It had been a long day after all for the both of them.
"And emotionally? Except for tired of course."
"I said I'm okay."
The girl with the blue hair stars into the eyes of the girl with the real pigtails and her own skirt.
"Okay . . . Alright . . . What do you want to be called now?"
That question . . .
She loves and hates it.
She understands why it was asked, and why people would want it, but it didn't sound right to her.
She knows that even people who don't do what she did can change their name, but she . . .
"Sunny . . ."
This is her, like always.
"Sunny? Are you sure?"
"Yes, Cris . . . This is me."
Cris pauses, olive green eyes scanning as Sunny gazes back. After a moment, Cris smiles.
"Understood, Sunny."
And she hugs her.
There was something warm, much more hotter than before, about her hug. Sunny couldn't help but blush and reach her hand out to hold Cris' arm.
"Thank you."
A soft whisper that meant a thousand things that Sunny could not emphasise.
"You're welcome."
But it was simple enough to get the point across.
"Hey, Cris?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you . . . Do you have any preferences?"
Sunny couldn't believe she asked, but Cris wasn't angry, and instead thought about it.
"Hmm, girl cute, boys cute, you know?"
. . .
"I'm bi."
Cris explained, and Sunny nodded.
"Right . . . I . . ."
So much happened, so much is happening.
"Cris . . ."
But it felt right to her.
"Do you want to go out with me?"
This was her, Sunny, asking out Cris.
"Sure!"
And Sunny was excited for the future of her, and her and Cris.
Notes:
In my eyes, this can be expanded into a much fuller story, and some parts could be changed around, but I'll have to leave it as you see.
It's also short because it doesn't really have a prompt? It's more like a story that's an idea if that makes any sense
Chapter 9: Merman Sunny (Prompt)
Summary:
In a world with Merfolk, though merfolk aren't seen as humans, and therefor are treated almost like animals, with the exception of being eaten.
Basically, merfolk are captured and put into aquariums, and are displayed for the entertainment of humans, though one girl sees something entirely different
Notes:
Uh, so I have no excuses for why it has been so long.
First, it was college, but when that ended, I wanted a break.
Once that break was over, I got distracted with Terraria and BTD6. I also wanted to focus on my Human Abbi Appreciation fic, and I kind of put pixel art to the side, only doing it whenever I felt like it for the fic itself and nothing else.
I've also wanted to change up my art, but haven't gotten that far yet. (There's something more at the end notes about this)
So yeah, I am so sorry!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Aquariums, a place where sea creatures are put on display for people to see without the danger and all the awe. A blue haired girl loves it as it makes her feel more close to the ocean, another thing that she appreciates, and she hopes that one day, society finds a way to live underwater. Until that day, she will continue to go to the aquarium and imagine her dream.
On this particular day though, something changed about how she views the ocean, specifically a species, though that will brought up later. For now, it's time to set this up.
The blue haired girl, known as Cris, steps through the main entrance of the aquarium, greeted by the guards and staff, all who know her for her many visits. Anyways, Cris is not here to live out her fantasy; she heard about a brand new creature known as the merfolk, one that she has had little to no information on, but nonetheless she is excited.
Following the signs, she notes how there's not many people around. Then again, it was very early, so Cris supposes she has about an hour to herself and this new creature. Perhaps she could get a tour guide to herself? Or a pamphlet? A part of her just wants to see it first before getting information.
Following her strange intuition, she continues down the path, passing by the many fish, the large squid and octopuses, and the strange sea animals. Eventually, she reaches a large tank separate from all of the others, and she spots a sign with with merfolk displayed on it along with some information. However, Cris did not read it, in fact . . .
A human with a fish for a tail swims around, expressing confusion and fear. It appeared male in the torso, and he observes the area around him, before his eyes land of Cris. He swims up, putting his hand on the glass, looking at her with expectations. Though she doesn't know what he wanted, Cris still walks up to him, and reaches her hand out.
"I'd suggest you step away from the glass, Cris." Someone speaks from behind, making her jump, quickly pulling her hand away and turning. It was one of the older staff members, a strict old man, but is soft deep down. Regardless, the old man says, "Sorry for spooking you, but it was tricky getting this into it's cage."
"Wait? This?" Cris turns to the, she supposes, merman, and faces back. The old man nods, and Cris shakes her head, "But he looks so . . . Human . . ."
"He does, on top of course, but look at the legs." The old man gestures, and Cris does, "What do you see?"
"A tail . . ." Cris spots the merman glance at the old man and swim into the cave, clearly frightened. "But-"
"Look, I know you have a deep care for the ocean and all of it's creatures, but this here is a beast." The old man warns, "Though it may not seem that threatening, it took too long just to get one that might not even be that profitable."
Cris deflates, staring at the barely visible merman. She feels something deep within her heart, but decides to face the old man and smile, "Alright, well thank you. Say, does her have a name?"
"They named it Sunny." The old man shrugs, "Not sure why though, it's probably going to be used to show tricks and stuff, and no ones really going to bother remembering its name." The old man sighs, before turning, "Anyways, if you want any information, then you know where to go. I'll be going now, see you later Cris."
The old man walks away, and Cris is left standing there. After a moment to herself, she twists her body back to the tank, noticing Sunny peeking out of the tunnel, though still somewhat staying hidden. She gazes at him, mesmerized by his appearance, and she speaks with determination.
"I will get you out of there, Sunny."
And she leaves, thinking deeply of the merman that not only caught her interest, but also, unknowingly for now, her heart.

Prompt (I guess bullet points would be more appropriate, but whatever):
- Mari is a merfolk, but won't be met until later.
- Cris researches merfork, finding information that could help her when she frees Sunny from his tank to the ocean.
- She decides to get a job at the aquarium, and with her connections with the staff, she is able to find more ways of her plan working.
- Due to her working, she can now become more closer to Sunny, if you catch my drift (;
- Eventually, some protesters gathering outside the aquarium, all wanting the merfolk to be freed, and after gathering more information, she decides to join a group.
- Perhaps the group could be the Omori gang. Maybe Hero is dating merfolk Mari, and after getting some information, that's how he and the gang are at the aquarium. (Problem: how Hero would understand Mari as I was thinking of merfolk having their own language or something, IDK.)
- A date is set, and after one last talk with Sunny, Cris and the group all work together to break Sunny out
- It's not that easy.
This could totally be expanded upon further, but I'll leave it for all of you to think more of.
Also, strange how it's Sunny who's the merfolk this time and not Cris, but I guess spice it up every once in a while. IDK.
Notes:
Thank you EVANEX for the idea (It was mostly just EVANEX saying Sunfish but merfork Sunny and Cris, and I got brainrot)
Also, no Twitter because I want to move to somewhere, but I don't know where yet. If you have any ideas, let me know. Also, when I do move, I want to update all my pixel art because that stuff is old, and starting on a clean slate might make it easier for me for me, but who knows.
Chapter 10: Hop on Slime Rancher (Crossover)
Summary:
Hop on Slime Rancher
I haven't played Slime Rancher. I have only watched some videos :(
Notes:
Uncertain if this is a Mari lives or dies AU, but does it matter? Slime!

Chapter Text
Snu cute: Got a new game
Mer-utiful: Oh, what is it about?
Snu cute: Farming slime
Mer-utiful: What?
Snu cute: Farming
Snu cute: Slime
Mer-utiful: I get that, but can you explain in more detail
Snu Cute: You have a ranch where you contain slimes and feed them, gathering their plorts to sell to the market, explore and find new types of slime, and it's cute
Mer-utiful: Huh, sounds very interesting
Snu cute: You wanna watch me play?
Snu cute: Oh, someone's at the door, but if you say yes, come on over
Sunny stands, quickly leaves his desk, heading out of the room, and walking down the stairs. The door is knocked on again, and he answers it, opening it-
"Yes, I do!." Cris stands on the other side, smiling widely and blue hair glowing from the reflection of the sunlight, making her beautiful, although that doesn't mean she wasn't beautiful before. "Uh, Sunny?"
"Beautiful." Sunny blurts, ears feeling warmer, and Cris perks, turning away and attempting to hide her blush.
"Ah, you mean mer-utiful?" Cris teases, something Sunny said in the past.
"You called me Snu cute." Sunny points out, now also embarrassed.
"That is a legit thing to call you!" Cris argues before clearing her throat, "Anyways, show me the slimes." Sunny nods, letting her in, and shutting the door behind her. She takes her shoes off, putting them to the side, and together, they head to Sunny's room. Once they get there, Sunny pulls up a chair near his computer, and sits at the one near his desk. Cris joins him, scooting close to him, which Sunny notes, but quickly brushes it aside and boots up the game.
"Slime Rancher?" Cris chimes up, and Sunny nods. Cris suddenly gasps, "Are those the slimes? They are so adorable!"
Sunny hums, "Yep. There are a lot of different types of slimes, and you can even combine others with plorts. Here, I'll show you around my farm." Sunny louds up a save file, and Cris leans in, "I haven't gotten that far, but I can tell you some of the stuff."
"Alright, give me the tour, tour guide." Cris is excited, and Sunny gives a small smile. The screen changes, and a land is displayed in front of them. It was mostly oranges and greens, however Cris notes some boxes with- "Are those the slimes? Are they in cages?"
"Yeah, but don't worry, I make sure to take proper care of them." Sunny assures her, making his character walk to the cages, and the slimes inside jump around, "These are just the normal slimes, and these other slimes-"
"Yo, cat slimes!" Cris gasps, finding them endearing. She then chuckles, "They're just like you!" She gently nudges Sunny, and he turns his head away.
"Heh, I suppose so." He then seems to perk up, "Oh, I know something." His character quickly sprints and Cris is curious. Once the character arrives, Cris spots some glowing slimes with wings, however Sunny ignores them, and quick heads over to a square with water and- "These are puddle slimes. They remind me of you."
"Of course you would say that." Cris is blushing regardless, and Sunny gives a slight chuckle.
"Yeah, although there's something sad about them." Sunny says, getting Cris to raise her eyebrow, "You can't combine them with other slimes. Let me show you." Cris stays quiet as he uses the vacuum to collect some strange crystals- "These are plorts. You can feed them to other slimes, like this." A plort from the tabby slime is shot to one of the glowing winged slimes, and it grows some cat ears. "However, the puddle slime's port . . ." He shoots the blue port, and none of the slimes eat it, "This is how it is vice versa."
"Oh, I see." Cris is a little disappointed, "Well, they are still very cute regardless, and plus, we can use our imagination for what would happen regardless." Sunny smiles at the idea, "Yeah, we could, though maybe later. For now, want to watch me play or do you want to play?"
"No, I want you to play." Cris replies, and Sunny nods, facing the screen. Cris likes watching her boyfriend get in the zone, it makes him so much more handsom-
Cris internally slaps herself for the strange thoughts, but true, to her, thoughts.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
The tabby slime opens its eye, singular, to an orange land with a vast blue sky. Of course, that wasn't the only things there, but the tabby slime did not care as it was hungry. So, in order to satisfy its hunger, it jumped out of its cave, and started to explore. Of course, with it being a predator of meat, the strange feathered creatures ran away from it with fear. Still, the tabby slime loves to chase them around, like playing with pray.
However, before it could catch one, it smelt something very strange, something that enamoured it and made it want to see what it was. So, the tabby slime starts its journey, spotting a vast sea. It goes down the cliff, and even ignores the strange feathered creatures that would distract it, continuing to follow the scent.
Eventually, it spots a strange puddle like creature, the puddle slime, holding a fish in its mouth. The fish is where the smell is coming from, and the tabby slime wants it. However, it seems that the puddle is holding onto it, perhaps wanting to eat it later, so the tabby slime acts quickly, going back to find something for the puddle slime.
Checking the area around it, the tabby slime sees flowers, though doesn't think it would work. It spots the strange feathered beasts, but the tabby slime will probably eat it on the way. Eventually, the tabby slime can't make up its mind, although just as it was about to admit defeat, something falls nearby.
A rubber duck.
For whatever reason, the tabby slime felt like it was the perfect gift, and decides to carry it on its head. It then travels it back to where the puddle slime was, and spots it in the distance, still holding the fish. The puddle slime spots it and the rubber duck, blushing at the sight. The tabby also blushes, feeling something strange internally, but does not know what it was.
They exchange the gifts, the tabby slime eating the fish really quickly while the puddle slime pokes and prods the rubber ducky, seemingly playing with its pray, though strange does not eat it. Regardless, the tabby slime smiles, watching the puddle slime for a moment before jumping away.
However, before it could, it heard a splash, and it turned, seeing the puddle slime staring at it sadly. For whatever reason, that made the tabby slime want to stay, so it does, bouncing close to the edge. The puddle slime seems to be happy, going up to it, and just vibing close to it.
They stay there, even during the night when its dangerous. However, they felt safe together, along with another feeling they could not place. There was of course the issue of food, which the tabby went out to get, and quickly came back to the tabby slime, no longer getting distracted so easily.
And so, the cycle continues.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Mer-utiful: I want to play Slime Rancher
Snu cute: Ok come on over
Mer-utiful: Wait, hold on
Snu cute: Hm?
Mer-utiful: I had a dream where I was a puddle slime
Mer-utiful: I think the game was already effecting me without me even playing it
Snu cute: Wait, were you given a rubber ducky from a tabby slime?
Mer-utiful: Yeah, how did you know?
Snu cute: You won't believe this
And so, the cycle continues.
Oh, also, it's sad that puddle slime can't combine with any other slime and vice versa.
I mean, maybe it's some lore related thing or a game mechanic.
However, I have seen some fanart out there that plays with the concept.
But, I have taken it upon myself to present to you . . .
Merm.
I wanted to call it Chell as a reference to an older fic of mine, but Merm . . .
Do I need to explain myself?
Anyways, that's all. See you!
Notes:
Did you know there's a Slime Rancher 2?
Man, what happened?
Also, uh, I guess Sunfish being converted into in game things/characters is an idea? This wasn't really an idea though
Chapter 11: Violin and Guitar (Story)
Summary:
Sunny is starting college, and decides that he wants to make Mari proud, so he fixes his violin up, and focus on playing it, though he won't force himself if he's hurting.
As he walks by a class room, he hears someone playing the guitar, and takes a peak inside.
To his surprise, it's Cris playing the guitar
Chapter Text
How long had it been since that day? 5? 6? Maybe 7 years since he threw the violin and . . . Killed his sister. He exhales, taking deep breaths as he thinks back. Now, the same violin, repaired a few months ago, is sitting in a case, slung across his back.
Sunny silently chuckles at the thought, entering the college. Another thing that he couldn’t believe, but he managed to get into the college he wanted and get accepted for the class he wanted.
The music class.
This was because he wanted to make up to Mari, his sister, in some way, even if people tell him he doesn’t have to, he desired it. This time though, he promises to be more relaxed with it, wanting to ensure his hands don’t ache every day, and bleed out in the middle of his practices.
He shakes the thoughts to the side, and reaches into his pockets, finding a piece of paper, and bringing it out. The paper is his timetable and tells him which room to go to. He follows down the path, finding the music section, and reading each room number.
However, as he walks down the corridor, he hears the sound of a guitar being played, and he perks up, looking to the source. He decides to check it out, and once he reaches a room, he listens.
The way the guitar played, it was lively, fun, a bit random and chaotic at times, but for Sunny felt that it was a part of the personality of whoever was playing it. It seems that whoever is playing found their groove with the instrument.
Sunny, after listening in for a while, hears the guitar die out, and that’s when he decided to check into the room. When he does, he perks up in surprise.
“Cris?” Sunny says aloud, and blushes in embarrassment.
“Sunny?” Cris replies, then smile widely, “Wow, it’s been a while, and man, what are the chances we meet?” A rhetorical question, but one that makes Sunny think.
“Yeah, uh, probably really low.” Sunny replies, before hearing the bell go off, “Oh shoot, I need to get to class. I’ll see you later.”
“Speak to you soon!” Cris calls out, and Sunny checks his timetable, then looks at the room number. Cris notices him enter, and is confused, “Huh? Aren’t you going to class?”
“This is my class.” Sunny clarifies, and Cris is more flabbergasted than Sunny.
“Wow, damn!” Cris shakes her head, “Anyways, come down sit next to me.”
Sunny agrees, only now realising that there are other people in the room, staring at him. He bashfully follows Cris, sitting down next to her, and they wait for the teacher to arrive, which wasn’t long thankfully.
He now wonders how his college experience will be affected by Cris.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“Cool room.” Cris checks around Sunny’s room, and Sunny scratches the back of his head.
“Eh, it’s not that much. I got it for cheap when I moved out.” Sunny admitted, wondering if Cris would judge, but she seemed more interested in the poster hanging in the wall.
She then turns to his drawers and point, “Yo, it’s the seashell necklace I gave you. Man, that brings me back.” Cris reminisces for a moment, before smiling at him, “I’m glad you still have it; It means a lot.”
“Yeah.” Sunny agrees, staying quiet as Cris explores for the moment.
“Say, did you tidy this before I came or is it always like this?” Cris asks weirdly.
“I tidy it always.” Sunny responds, and Cris looked a bit disappointed, but shrugs.
“Right, well my room- No, my apartment is a huge mess!” Cris chuckles, then asks, “If you want to make a buck though . . .”
“I’ll consider it.” Sunny simply says, and Cris just laughs.
“Oh, you have no idea.” Cris genuinely sounds like she’s sympathetic. She then moves along, “Anyways, you want to play together? I never heard you play.”
“Em, sure, but I’m not as good.” Sunny gets a violin out of its case, while Cris gets her guitar out of her bag, which she had been carrying on her back this entire time.
“Let me be the judge at that, okay?” Cris says, and Sunny nods. She tests the strings on her guitar, tuning it a bit before asking, “So, are you ready?”
“Yep.” Sunny answers, and then enquiries, “What are we playing?”
“Anything I suppose.” Cris shrugs and starts to strum her guitar. While it isn’t as loud as it was in the class, Sunny is impressed with the sound. Of course, he doesn’t get enamoured with it and starts to play.
Every so often, as his bow and finger dance along the violin, he takes a glance at Cris, who appears to be having the time of her life. Her chaotic nature could throw an average person off, but to Sunny, he feels like he’s learning an entirely new side to Cris, one that he didn’t get to see during the three days he spent in Faraway, and the very little interaction between them afterwards.
Regardless, he plays smoothly, unsure if he should go along with Cris, but he continues to do his own thing. From an outside perspective, it sounded like a mishmash of order and mayhem, but to Sunny, it was a duet . . .
He smiles at the thought, knowing that it wasn’t with a sister, but with a friend. This satisfied him, but he knows his journey is not over, and he hopes that Cris will be a part of it.
Little did he realise that Cris wanted the same thing, and she hopes to spend more time with him as she knows she’s going to have a lot of excitement in the future.
Notes:
Yeah, it's been a while.
Not because I'm running out of ideas, but because of how distracted I've been.
I can't promise frequent chapters, but I hope to do one every month.
Anyways, I gave Cris a guitar because of a joke.
Her father's name is Max Rock.
Making Cris, Cris Rock.
Cris Rock really rocks.
Sorry, not sorry
Chapter 12: Witch’s Voodoo Doll (Prompt)
Summary:
Cris loses her voodoo doll and flies around town. She manages to find a boy with it, but when she approaches, she feels a dark presence. Grabbing the boy, they fly again, but Something still chases.
Notes:
I feel like I’ve mentioned this before, heck I might have described the summary, but today I give a prompt.
Oh, also first person and a really goofy pixel art
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Where is it? Where is it?! Gosh, how long have I been flying? Like 2 hours? Honestly, I might have to go even higher.
Huh? What is that? There’s something I sense, down below. I might be another witch- Oh god, if a witch finds my voodoo doll, then I’m screwed! I better hurry up.
Alright, I’ll go to the source, just in case. Alright broom, let’s go down. Take deep breaths Cris, it should be okay.
Huh? There’s a boy? And- Oh, that’s my voodoo doll! Hmm, he is checking it out, though he doesn’t seem to have any magic.
I better get closer just in case.
. . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
W-What is that? I sense something. There’s something following him, and it’s got a very dark aura!
“Hey!” I shout, and the boy perks, looking around him. I float down, “Up here.” The boy turns his head up and his eyes widen in surprise. He blinks, his expression reminding me of the many people who are baffled by the sight of witches. “Look, I don’t have much time to explain. Get on.”
I float to the ground on my broom, and hesitantly, he approaches. I feel the darkness getting closer and I start to worry. He feels the broom with his finger- “Sorry, but we need to go, now!”
He flinches, nodding as he uses his legs to sit down. I feel the darkness right behind me. Not giving the boy a moment to get comfortable, I rise up on my broom.
I stare forward, feeling the darkness still lurking behind me. I check back, seeing nothing but the boy’s terrified expression. Quickly, I decide to go down at a secret spot. A place with a large lake and the statue of connection.
Going down, I land, and the boy quickly gets off, breathing heavily. “I apologise for that. Here, breathe with me.” I tell him, taking a deep breath through my nose, and a blow slowly out my mouth. I repeat this for a while until he calms down, “There, now give me a second.”
I check around my surroundings. Whatever this darkness is, it’s not behind me. I lean to check behind the boy, but . . .
I observe the boy who gets his bearrings, “Do you know you have something following you?”
Oh, his stare. Gosh, I did not like it, but it confirmed one thing.
This boy is cursed.
“Don’t panic, we can sort it out, I promise.” I raise my hands to calm the boy down, “Now, how long have you have this?”
He frowns, raising up one finger. “One day?” He shakes his head, “One week?” Again, no. “One month?” Oh god, I’m starting to worry. “O-One year?” He nods. “Okay, the curse is really powerful. That’s fine, but that means you’re going to have to hold that.”
I point to my voodoo doll, and the boy raises it, glancing between the doll and me. He perks up in realisation, and I chuckle, “Yep, that’s me. Oh, I didn’t tell you my name. It’s Cris, what’s yours?”
He gulps, giving me a look of uncertainty, and I knew this wasn’t from the curse. However he points to the sky, and I cover my eyes from the sunlight, “Is your name . . . Sun?” He waves his hands, indicating that I’m close, “Uh, Sunny?” Bingo. “Alright Sunny, I think we should go now. Don’t worry, we’ll walk.”
He nods, and we venture out of the trees. I know only a few witches who can help Sunny, but I will have to wait for them to arrive. This means that I’ll have to protect Sunny from potential attacks from other witches and dark creatures that may want to feed off his curse . . . Oh, and get my voodoo doll back.
Let the games begin.
Notes:
Just a few notes that you don't have to follow:
If Mari did curse Sunny, it would be accidental. Take that for what you will.
Going to say that some of the world knows about witches, though smaller towns have little to no idea/info about them.
Cris’ parents know about Cris being a witch, though no one else.
Yes, Cris’ boarding school was a witch school, but it was still near the ocean. Cris has her hair dyed and got the voodoo doll from boarding school (She calls it boarding school because it technically was and it’s also a convenient lie).
Set one year after Mari’s death, and Sunny is still going to school. Though his mother is considering taking him out due to things. Also, the photos have been drawn over.
And yeah, that’s basically it. I probably missed something, but I’m sure that whoever is willing to write this can fix it up or something.
Anyways, happy Halloween!
Chapter 13: The Huntress and The Half Demon (Cancelled Fic)
Summary:
The year is somewhat set during the game’s time, so 199X. Humanity has towns and cities littered all over the world with walls blocking the outside. But why? Well . . .
Demons run rampant, scouring for whatever human it can dig its teeth into, killing people just to eat the flesh.
Cris is a huntress secluded in a cabin, surrounded by forest. Demons are rare, so she’s lucky, however, she keeps on the lookout.
However, when a half demon lays in front of her, bloody, bruised, cut, and afraid. Cris can’t help but drop her guard.
Notes:
A slightly more mature and bloody story, along with scars in the pixel art.
If you don't like that, then you can leave.
Also, this is a cancelled fic. I'll explain at the end.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Chapter 1
The forest is quiet, even as the wind makes the leaves on the trees sway in the wind, there still wasn’t a single sound. No birds, or insects, or any animals. Just a sunny, peaceful, and tranquil day.
However, this silence was cut when a young woman steps through the bushes, snapping twigs in her stride, holding a hunting rifle as she scans the area.
This woman was Cris, a girl with olive green eyes, blue dye hair with some blond hair starting to show on her roots. She’s a huntress, but only for survival purposes. What she really loves is swimming, and the ocean, however, she can’t indulge in it because of the demons.
Demons are pure black and have a sort of clay like body with one eye usually at the top. They’re strong, and can pack a punch. They’re purpose is to kill and absorb any humans that it sees, and that’s not an exaggeration.
Because of this, Cris walks through the woods, wary of her surroundings. Her ears then pick up the sound of flowing water, and she decides to walk more sneakily, unholstering her hunting rifle from her shoulder to prepare.
She knows that there’s usually animals that tend to stick by water, although that’s another thing, animals get ignored by demons, however animals do get scared of demons. This fact is strange, but is good for Cris since it's a sign that there’s no demons nearby.
So, after stepping silently through the trees, Cris spots a deer near the river on her side, drinking the water. She puts the rifle on her shoulder, aims it, and-
The deer perks up. Cris pauses, knowing that it senses something, something that makes Cris not want to fire her gun as it might alert whatever’s nearby.
However, she needs the food, as well as some money, so, taking a deep breath, preparing for whatever might come out, Cris pulls the trigger.
*BANG*
Just like that, the deer is dead, animal blood spilling on the grass, some even getting in the water. Cris lowers her gun, ears trying to pick anything up, yet nothing is heard.
Strolling towards the deer carcass, her ears scan the area, trying to see if there is anything that might jump out of her, but she sees nothing.
Putting the rifle away, she reaches the body, gets out her hunting knife, and starts to cut-
*SNAP*
Cris immediately stands up, puts her knife away, and pulls at her gun, pointing everywhere as her body turns quickly. She keeps her mouth shut, not wanting to shout as it might get attention.
Suddenly though, she hears the bushes shifting, twigs snapping, and someone panting. Clearly someone is running away, from what though? That’s what made Cris slightly nervous.
Soon, the source reveals itself on the other side of the river. The current wasn’t strong, so it easily got to the otherside, a bit of a distance where Cris is standing.
Cris pauses, aiming her rifle at the being as she checks it out. Actually, she should say check him out since it was a man wearing dirty brown shorts which were soaked, ripped white shirt, and shoes that have seen better days. His hair looked a bit weird, his nails were practically claws, and his skin was pale. There were cuts lining his arm and torso, blood soaking certain areas of his shirt, and pouring out of others that were free in the air.
Concerned, she decides to walk forward, accidentally alerting the man, and making him turn towards her. Cris gasps, eyes widen in surprise. One of his eyes was a normal human eye that was a deep brown colour while the other was like a demon’s eye: Black, with a white ring in its centre.
Stepping backwards, Cris aims the gun immediately at the man’s face, although she isn’t too sure if she should call him a man. Despite that, the man looks at her with fear.
“P-Please.” The man chokes out, sounding like an average human being, “Please don’t hurt me.”
You know, there’s a saying: Don’t hesitate in front of a demon, or else the demon will use that time to kill. However, Cris does that, and yet the man lays there, still afraid, not attacking her.
Cris blinks, unsure what to do, gun still pointed at the man. The man continues to plead, “I-I won’t hurt you, just let me leave . . .” He shifts backwards, wanting to escape.
However, Cris shouts, “Stop!” The man stops, his expression is something that Cris can’t pinpoint. Cris speaks up, “I . . . How are you- No, What are you?!”
“I-I’m Sunny,” Sunny replies, putting a hand on his wound on his chest, “And I’m a half demon half human.”
The logistics of that . . . Not only does the demon have a name, but the fact that it's a half demon, half human . . . Cris doesn’t want to think about it. She then asks, “How did you get hurt?”
“Humans. Humans did this.” Sunny answers, though it was probably obvious.
Cris gulps, still having the barrel aimed at Sunny. She then sighs, “I’m Cris . . . Can I trust you?” Sunny nods, looking hopeful. Cris then pauses, considering the possibilities, before lowering her gun.
Sunny gazes, before slowly standing up and walking backwards. Cris stares, quite surprised that this demon is acting different from the rest. Doesn’t it want to kill her? Why is it acting like this? And why . . .
Why does she feel guilty? Why does she want to help it?
“Wait!” Cris shouts out, feeling stupid, but, “Come with me. I can heal your wounds.”
“I . . . Are you sure? I’ve survived worse!” Sunny tells her, and Cris believes him.
Cris sighs, “No, I’m not sure, but . . . You seem different to your kind, Sunny. Let me help . . .”
Sunny blinks, thinking about it, before walking towards Cris, trusting her. Cris on the other hand, feels her heart beat faster, fear coursing through her veins, telling her to shoot, or run, or even both!
But she doesn’t listen. She doesn’t run as Sunny stands in front of her in arms reach. He could kill her, and yet . . . He just stares awkwardly.
“S-So, where are we going?” Sunny snaps Cris out of her thoughts.
“I . . . Well I . . .” Cris stammers, then spots the deer at the corner of her eye, “First, I’m going to grab this deer.”
“Oh, right.” Sunny nods, and Cris pauses, before turning around . . . Cris is once again surprised that Sunny hasn’t killed her yet, she should have been dead a million times already, and yet here she is, back turned away from the demon.
Cris exhales, puts her hunting rifle away, and then kneels down. She then pulls out her knife, and starts to cut the deer, sensing Sunny loom over her as her knife pierces the deer, sliding it across its skin. It felt like the most awkward and dangerous time of her life, but Cris still manages to successfully cut the deer.
She then pauses, and turns to Sunny, looking upwards as the sun shines down. “Could you help lift this up?” Cris asks, still feeling like this is the worst idea ever.
“Sure!” Sunny replies, and Cris was ready to hold the body as well, however, in one fell swoop, Sunny bends down, puts the deer in his arms, and lifts it up, carrying it over his shoulder.
CrIs blinks, staring at Sunny as she slowly stands up. Sunny looks at her with confusion, “Is something wrong?” Sunny asks, not noticing the cogs turning in Cris’ head.
“No . . .” Cris says, totally not forgetting about the fact that demons are STRONG! Regardless, Cris shakes her head, and puts away her knife, “Anyways, follow me.”
Sunny nods, and Cris turns once again, walking back into the forest as a demon accompanies her from behind. Each and every time a twig is snapped is a reminder that something dangerous is right behind her, making her have a much higher anxiety level than her brother, Basil.
That would make her laugh, but she’s currently fearing for her life. Still though the huntress and the half demon continue to stroll through the forest, silent yet loudly journeying their way to the huntress’ house as the half demon carries her kill.

Chapter 2
Cris takes a demon home, and takes care of it. She also discussing her family.
The sun sets down on a lone, humble wooden cabin sitting alone in the forest. A dirt path is carved out in front, snaking its way through the trees, and eventually reaching the main road. This cabin is small, but has enough rooms to provide the necessities.
This cabin is Cris’ house, a place she has lived in for nearly five years. The owner of said house was currently being followed by a dangerous half demon, who was carrying the carcass of a deer, and could easily kill her. That fact makes her nervous, but despite that, the demon shows no signs of wanting her dead.
Regardless, Cris continues to walk to her house with fear gripping her heart as Sunny, the half demon, trails behind her.
They soon reach the cabin, and Cris dives into her pockets, gets her key, and unlocks the door. Cris steps inside and points to a table with various tools and equipment hanging beside it, “Lay the deer there.”
Sunny nods, enters the cabin, and places the deer on the bench with a mighty thump. Cris closes her door, and locks it.
“Okay, well first your wounds need to be cleaned. Follow me to the bathroom.” Cris tells Sunny, setting her gun and hunting gear beside the door, and walks to the other side of the room. She enters the hallway where four more doors lay. From left to right, there’s her room, a guest room/storage room, bathroom, and kitchen and dining room, both combined.
She heads to the bathroom, and goes to the bath to turn it on. As she prepares the bath, she turns to spot Sunny standing at the door frame, demon eye piercing her soul. Her heart rate spikes, but she takes a deep breath, and calms down.
“Right . . . Take off your shirt, I want to see all the wounds.” Cris says, and Sunny does that, throwing the shirt to the side. What she saw nearly made her throw up in the nearby toilet.
A scar going from his right shoulder blade, all the way to his left hip. The wound was deep, mixed with red, black, and . . . green?! She swore she saw a maggot of two, which made her gag, but she managed to suppress the urge to barf.
“Wow . . . That’s . . .” Cris shakes her head, “Come over here, and let me clean your wound.” Cris instructs, and Sunny walks in and sits down, facing away from her. She grabs a sponge, and rinses it under the mildly hot water, “This might hurt . . .” Cris warns as she brings the sponge to Sunny’s back.
Sunny hisses when it hits, nails digging into his thigh, but holds still. Cris carefully slides the sponge across his back, cleaning a lot of gunk and grime. She then puts the sponge over the bath, and squeezes it. After that, she plugs the bath, hot water filling it up.
“So, after I leave, I want you to strip all your clothes, and put yourself in the water. Wash all your wounds with the sponge, and afterwards, step out, and dry yourself with this towel.” Cris brings out a towel from the cupboard as she explains. “Shout once you're done.”
“Okay.” Sunny speaks for the first time they got home, but Cris doesn’t point that out as she turns the tap off, and stands up.
She leaves the bathroom and closes it behind her. She pauses, before hearing Sunny enter the water. Cris sighs, feeling slightly more safe now that there’s a door between them.
Shaking her head, she grabs some spare clothing, hoping that none of hers are too big. Just in case, she’ll grab baggy trousers, swim trunks (Cause giving him Cris’ panties is weird,) and a large hoodie from her room. She places it in front of the bathroom, and sets off to prepare their meal.
Getting to the deer, she pauses, and stares at it. Cris sighs, and grabs a tool for more precise cutting. The cutting before was for stuff that isn’t valuable to her, however, now she has to dig into the deer.
She always hated this part, but it’s what she does to survive.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Sunny was alone in the bath, looking down at the reflection in the water as it stared back. In a way, he was already done, however, this felt nice, and calm, almost enough to make him sleep, but didn't.
Despite the warmth, Sunny knows that he must leave, so after a few more seconds, Sunny gets out of the bath, and starts to dry himself off. Once all water is rinsed, he’s left with a bloody towel and slightly crimson bath.
“Cris! I’m done!” Sunny shouts, and he hears the sound of feet walking towards the bathroom. Soon, the door slightly opens, however, it reveals Cris’ arm holding out . . . Strange shorts
“Take these and put them on.” Cris tells him, and Sunny grabs the shorts, and puts them around his waist
“Alright, now what?” Sunny asks, and the door opens fully to Cris holding bandages.
“Now I’m going to wrap these around your body . . .” Cris glances up and down. She sighs and mumbles to herself, “Might have to use the whole lot.”
Regardless, Cris gets to work, circling Sunny as she puts the bandages around his torso, arms, and legs separately. Eventually, Cris finishes, and pulls away, checking her work, AKA the somewhat mummified Sunny.
“And done! Just don’t pick the wounds, or the bandage, or go into any water unless I say so.” Cris then picks up the clothes behind her, “Anyways, put these on.”
Sunny nods, putting on the trousers and jumper. It was a bit small, but it sufficed in hiding a lot. However, Cris noticed that he wasn't wearing anything on his feet.
“Stay right there, I’ll be back.” Cris then runs to her room, rummages for some big socks, and comes back. “Here, place these on. While you do that, I’m making dinner . . .”
Cris gives Sunny the socks, and starts to stroll away, however, she remembers what demons eat, and stops. She slowly turns and asks, “Say . . . You don’t mind cooked venison . . . Do you?”
Sunny blinks, “Never tried it.” That didn’t help Cris, but she still holds a slight bit of hope that she won’t be used to feed Sunny.
“Right . . . Well come on.” Cris enters the kitchen, and goes to the cooker, turning it on, and placing the deer meat on it. Sunny sits on a chair, and looks around the kitchen, seeing countless photos hanging around. One caught his interest, and it was of two children smiling cheerfully.
“You got human child?” Sunny points to the photo, and Cris frowns, turning to where Sunny is pointing.
“Oh, no, that’s me and my brother when we were younger.” Cris answers, “My brother’s name is Basil, and he lives in the city.”
Sunny hums, then asks, “What is he like?”
“Well . . . Very anxious, that’s for one.” Cris chuckles, “He has a love for flowers. Honestly, he could ramble for hours, much like how I can do the same for the ocean. Basil also doesn’t look a lot like me, and he doesn’t have blue dyed hair like me, so we’re not really seen as siblings, but I still love him like a brother.”
Sunny nods, staring at the other photos, “Who are the rest?”
“Sorry, I can’t talk about that right now as I’m focussing on dinner. How about I tell you during our meal?” Cris replies, and Sunny agrees.
Cris gets back to cooking, making sure that the meat is properly cooked. She’s not going to try anything just in case Sunny doesn’t like it, so it’s going to be a bit bland.
Eventually, the dinner is done, and after setting the meat on separate plates, getting cutlery, and bringing it to the table, Cris sets the plates down, and sits. She starts to eat as Sunny stares curiously at the plate and at her.
After watching, Sunny decides to follow what Cris is doing, and gets a piece of meat, and brings it to his mouth. Cris waits nervously, expecting the worst as Sunny takes a bite, and . . .
Sunny chews and swallows. He goes in for another piece and starts to pick up the pace. Soon, he’s consuming it very quickly, and then it’s gone.
Cris stares, eyes wide as she slowly eats her venison. After swallowing, she asks, “So, you liked it?”
“Yes.” There was a spark in Sunny’s human eye, hunger quenched.
“Alright.” Cris just continues to eat her dinner, somewhat afraid of Sunny’s stare. Once she was done, she chimes up, “So, you wanted me to tell you who’s in the photos?”
Sunny nods, and Cris starts to tell, pointing at each one. “Well, there’s my mom and dad. There’s Aubrey with her recently dyed pink hair. There Kel and his brother, Hero, who is a doctor. And that's Basil, though here he's younger. He's the same age as me, and there's were lot of change over time. I actually don't have a photo of him of how her looks currently . . . Strange.”
Cris finishes off, and Sunny gathers that information. Cris then yawns and stands up, gathering the plates, and steeping them in the sink. “Anyways, it’s getting late. I’ll set up something for you to sleep on.”
“Wow, thank you . . . But you know I could just leave.” Sunny suggests.
Cris turns to Sunny, “What? Why would . . .” She then remembers that Sunny is a half demon, capable of splitting her in half. This is her opportunity to kick him out.
But . . .
“No, you are not leaving.”
“What? But why?” Sunny frowns, clearly confused.
“I don’t know Sunny . . . I really don't . . .” Cris shakes her head, “But . . . But . . .” She quickly thinks of an excuse, “Your wounds! Remember when I said that you shouldn’t do anything with them unless I told you so?”
“Something like that, but yeah . . .” Sunny thinks to himself, before shrugging, “Alright, well I’ll stay here until I get better.”
“That sounds like a plan.” Even though Cris was still fearing for her life, she was fine with a potential demon who could murder her in her own home. Yep! Completely fine! Totally not kicking herself for being a moron, but whatever!
Cris exhales, and leaves the kiten, “Come on, let me show you where you’ll be sleeping.” Sunny stands, and follows Cris to the spare guest room. After getting out a camping bed, a pillow, and some covers, she gestures towards it.
“There you go. Sorry if it’s a little uncomfortable, but it should do the job.” Cris says, and Sunny strides towards the bed, and lies down, covering himself. “Whelp, goodnight.” Cris then closes the door, and deflates, smacking herself in the face.
She shakes her head, and walks to the bedroom. Hopefully sleep would make her mind more clear, if she doesn’t die randomly in the middle of the night, but that’s for her to find out.
Regardless, after shutting the door, being extra careful by securing it with her closest, she crawls into bed, and shuts her eyes.
Meanwhile, when the sun is gone and the moon is getting high up in the air, Cindi crawls towards the huntress’ cabin.

Chapter 3
Cris and Sunny get an unexpected visitor in the middle of the night
This is actually where I ended the fic.
Let me first show you some plans/notes on how this would have gone before telling you what made me stop.
- I'd suggest searching up Something variants to get a better idea.
- Cindi attacks, knocking Cris to the ground, but Sunny saves her. Cris is wounded, so they have to go to the city.
- Before they do, Sunny is covered up.
- On the walls are Kel and Aubrey, guarding, along with some other people. Cris greets them, introducing Sunny, and they get in. They get to the hospital where they meet Hero, and Sunny is fixed out. Afterwards, they decide to visit Basil.
- Basil is very jumpy, glancing at Sunny every so often. And out of ear shot, Cris explains.
- Basil's parents died, and Cris' parents took Basil in. Cris doesn't know this, but Basil saw the monster that killed his parents.
- Anyways, Cris and Sunny stay over the night. Though during their rest, Cris meets Basil and they talk about Sunny. Cris keeps Sunny's half demon side a secret, and Basil supports Cris, much to the confusion of Cris.
- Next day, an attack happens on the walls. While the walls are sturdy, Basil worries and has a panic attack. He is brought to the hospital by Sunny, and Hero manages to bring Basil back.
- After everything calms down, both Cris and Sunny leave, though Sunny is acting strange. Cris asks, and Sunny just tells her he feels an ominous presence. They decide to check it out by camping.
- After setting up a camp fire, Sunny can finally remove some of the covers that hide his half demon side. Suddenly though, there was a snap, and they turn, Cris ready with her gun. However, out comes Basil, looking at Sunny with horror.
- An argument breaks out between Basil and Cris, though suddenly, there's a roar, and they stay quiet. And yet, and monster, Dorothi comes out from the woods.
- They battle it while it doges Cris' bullets. Basil is frozen though, and Dorothi takes this as an opportunity. It stabs Basil with its antlers. Cris is horrified, unable to move, and once Basil's lifeless body hits the ground, Cris is snapped out of it, though notices the monster charging her. However, Sunny tackles it, darkness sprouting from his wounds and eyes, and he cuts the monster with ease. He slowly turns to Cris, glaring at her for a moment before taking a deep breath. But before he could say anything, Cris bolts.
- Reaching her home, she waits in bed, panting heavily. She is unable to sleep, thinking about what she witnessed over and over in her mind. Once the sun rises, so does she, still running off adrenalin. She peeks through her window and sees him, sitting with his back facing her. She pauses, and decides to open the door. Hesitating, she decides to talk to Sunny.
Uh, I didn't plan this far, but a year or two later, while Cris lays in bed, Sunny gazes at her, then joins her by her side. Cris wakes, seeing him, and she isn't afraid. She realises this, and she smiles, happy that Sunny's by her side.
Anyways, the reason why I didn't want to make this was because I didn't feel like I could tackle it. Like, sure I've done some brutal stuff, but I could not give this justice. I'm also bad a fight scenes in general, as well as making a good conversation. It also felt overall short for some reason; I don't know how to describe it.
Oh, one more thing, I'm not 100% sure this is Sunfish. I think the tag Cris & Sunny works better, but hey, maybe someone has an idea to incorporate Sunfish ;)
Anyways, that's all! Goodbye, old sport.
Notes:
Surprisingly not posting at the end of the month.
Yay for me!
I also didn't know what to post for November, so I decided to unearth this cancelled fic.
Honestly, I have no idea how I would tackle this if I was to continue, and that's if I want to proceed, which I don't at the moment, and I doubt I will for a while.
Chapter 14: Two of The Last (Story)
Summary:
The Ice Elementals search in hopes to remain with one another

Chapter Text
Cold, forever and ever. White, as far as the eye can see. Snow, constantly falling down. Life, there is none of that, though if there was, it’s frozen, just like the being who trudged onwards.
See, long ago, the land was actually filled with life, if it can be called that. What that means is there were ice people, or more specifically, ice elementals. These ice elementals have been there since before the dawn of humanity, searching for another, and once they do, they remain with each other until the end of the earth. These beings cannot create nor destroy, and each time they join, the population dwindles.
It is unknown how these creators first came, but regardless, due to the lack of creation, the ice elementals eventually became an endangered experience, then one day, there only remains a single ice elemental.
Said ice elemental trudged in the cold, white, snowy, lifeless wasteland. It continues to search for another ice elemental so that it can remain with it. However, it seems that there are no other ice elementals left.
Yet, despite that, it has to continue, forever and ever. Even if trapped or exploded, it will continue to live. Only the sun or a black hole is able to truly destroy it, though it does not know that. Even if it did, it shall carry onwards.
Forever.
Can an ice elemental get desperate? It doesn’t have a heart. Yet it knows what it means to remain with another, and from a human’s perspective, it would seem like love. But again, can an ice elemental feel love? The answer is no.
It doesn’t have a mind, but it knows what to do. I don't breathe, but it still has a nose. Its eyes forever remain the same colour, though are they truly eyes? It can see, so yes.
There’s not much known about this creature, no human has interacted with it, though that is because humans haven’t evolved enough to journey to where the ice elementals. It would take them another few thousand years before that happens. Then again, it may also take forever for the ice elemental to find another, so it is possible.
For now though, the information is limited, and the ice elemental goes onwards through the snow. Perhaps if it had some powers, it could use them to see through the snow more clearly, or maybe have some sort of way to track another ice elemental down, if there is another left.
Yet it has no such powers. Actually, maybe it does, after all, how is it alive? If it can be called alive in the first place. Like an inanimate object possessed by a spirit, is that alive? Again, these questions won’t and can’t be found out.
But the ice elemental doesn’t dwell, nor worry, if it can. It will continue, and it will not care how long it takes. It may get trapped, but it doesn’t mind. It doesn’t know if another ice elemental exists, and if there is none, then it will continue its pointless walking endlessly.
There is no sympathy for the creature, it doesn’t know what sympathy is. It only knows its goal is to find another and remain with it. That is when it stops or dies. That’s when it’s free.
Until then, it shall proceed.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
There was another, but neither knew of each other’s existence. This ice elemental had three chances to remain with another ice elemental, but it refused.
But why? It has no feelings, and its goal is to remain. It doesn’t think, though it doesn’t know consequences or regret, at least, it doesn’t want to go back and choose to remain.
It too shall continue, day and night, weeks and months. It can’t question its actions, it can’t answer them either. It just wants to remain with another, though why not do it before?
The answer is simply that no one, not even the ice elemental, will ever know. It can’t even remember its choice, if it can remember at all.
It doesn’t even know where it came from. The answer was near an ocean, but it does not know that. It stays by the ocean for a long time before travelling, but it does not remember that. It has seen what happens to those who remain and it’s marvellous, but it continued onwards three times.
If it can wonder, it would wonder if the three ever found anything to remain with. It would also wonder if there was another ice elemental, but there is no wonder.
There is only it, and cold, white, snow. That’s not counting the clouds and the moon, though it does not know the name of all the objects, including itself..
It only knows its purpose, which is to remain with another.
This repeats because it doesn’t matter.
This will continue regardless of how much time has passed.
It will trudge onwards even if there is no other like it.
But there is, it just doesn’t know where it is.
Though when it sees it, it will know.
For now, it will walk, even in loops.
Forever.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Strange footsteps.
The ice elemental follows them.
The snow starts to cover, but it will proceed regardless.
Then, under the shiny moonlight and falling snow, it sees it.
Another ice elemental.
It goes on, seeing it walk away from it. It walks faster, praying- Wait, it can’t pray, nor does it know how to rush.
All it knows is that it needs to remain with it.
Nothing more, nothing less.
However, it does know that it was turning.
The ice elemental spots the other.
Both approach each other, not thoughts, no feelings, just knowing that they can remain together, and be free together, and wonder together, if they could wonder.
Once they met, both noticed a slight height difference, but they did not care. One uses its toes, if it can be called toes, to gain extra height while the other bends its knees, not knowing what its knees are.
They lock.
And now, they can remain.
At least their bodies, though meanwhile their spirits, which is the closest word, are now free.
They know now, they know how to think, to feel, to care, to love.
And they know their names.
Cris, Sunny.
Cris and Sunny will remain together, exploring all sorts of colours, which they know about. They can go through the galaxy or earth, which they recognise. They can do anything and nothing since they are just spirits.
But that doesn’t matter because they are together.
They also know that they were the last two ice elementals, and how lucky they managed to get together.
Now, regardless of luck, they can start a new journey.
Notes:
Anyone doing Sunfish (Unlikely): Hmm, maybe I’ll have them hand hold or kiss
Me doing Sunfish: HAHA, Icefish. Ice elementals go brrr, literally!
I lost my sanity years ago, but thanks for asking, if you did.
Chapter 15: Stars In The Apocalypse (Special)

Chapter Text
In the endless desert, which was once a lush land, a blue haired girl carries her boyfriend on her back. She walks across the shifting land as the sun sets down behind a ruined city, one which she knows won’t be safe for her boyfriend.
“I can walk.” The blue haired girl’s boyfriend, aka Sunny, slightly mumbles to her. He’s not that much of a speaker, so his voice is usually quiet, though since he was close to her, he didn’t need to speak any louder.
“It might be a while until we find ourselves a town, and besides, I’ve carried heavy things for much longer.” The blue haired girl, aka Cris, replies to Sunny.
“Please, I don’t want to burden you.” Sunny tells her and she sighs, shaking her head.
“Sunny, you’re never a burden. Please don’t think that about yourself.” Cris assures him for the umpteenth time, “Plus, I would have let you walk already if I wanted to.”
Sunny stays silent, though, with a glance, Cris knew he was thinking of a way to argue. Yet before he could, Cris’ ears perked up, “Wait, I hear something . . . It’s a couple of cars.”
She turns and sees three cars approach with a truck behind. She notices the symbols painted on the car, and immediately she knew it was a group of bandits. It appeared they just stole a truck, and it was head right towards the city.
However, Cris and Sunny were in between the vehicles and the city, so when the gang approached them, they stepped out of their vehicles.
“Well well, what do we have here boys?” The clear leader, a bigger guy, though that wasn’t saying much as they were all fairly scraggly, steps forward, swinging around his axe. The rest of the gang either had bats or no weapons at all. “It appears we have a fine lady and her . . . Luggage.”
Cris glares at him, letting Sunny down, then cracks her knuckles, “You just robbed a truck.”
“Yeah, so? You can be another valuable item. Trust me, we’ll treat you right compared to him.” The leader gestures to Sunny and Cris takes in a deep breath.
“I’m afraid I’m going to have to kill you. One for stealing and probably harming civilians.” Cris pauses for a moment, “Two for insulting my boyfriend.”
There was a moment of silence before the gang started laughing. However, Cris jumps into the air, and kicks down on the face of the leader in a specific spot.
The leader stumbles back, feeling his face, “Huh, that didn’t hurt.” Though just as he smiles, his face contorts, then, along with his body, he explodes and turns into light, leaving nothing behind.
Before the rest of the gang can react, she punches and kicks them in specific spots. These spots made the gang members experience the same thing as their leader did: A moment of peace and confusion before dying, and while it seems painful with their screams and expression, on the contrary it was not.
Yet, when the last gang disappeared, Sunny shouts out, “Cris!” Cris twists and finds a remaining gang member looming over him. She quickly sprints as the gang member raises his arm, and Sunny shakily looks at him.
Then all of a sudden, Sunny brings out his knife from his pocket and slices it across the gang's chest. Cris reaches them, kicking the gang in a specific spot on his back, causing the gang to contort and explode in a flash of light.
Sunny shivers as he holds the knife, his eyes wide, and Cris pants, walking up to him, “Sunny, are you okay?”
“I-I . . .” Sunny takes deep breaths, gripping his knife, “I didn’t know what to do, I’m sorry Cris.”
“Hey, listen to me.” Cris grabs his hand, grounding him, “I would have done the same thing in your situation, and that man . . . Who knows what he has done.”
“Still . . .” Sunny looks down at his knife, slightly dripping red blood. After a moment, he calms his breathing down, and then he turns his head back to Cris, “I need to ask, if this world is about pitting strength against strength, then I want to be able to defend myself.”
“So Cris, will you teach me?”
Cris stares at him with shock, though knowing that Sunny carries around, the surprise quickly dissipates, “You know that I can’t.”
“I don’t mean your technique. Like, general fighting. What if I lost my knife?” Sunny clarifies, causing Cris to perk up.
“Well, I do know some moves that aren’t based around my ancient techniques.” Cris slowly nods to herself, though remembers the truck, “However, I’m afraid I’ll have to teach you later. The truck belongs to someone.”
Sunny nods, and together, they both head to the truck. Once they climb in, Sunny asks, “Can you drive?”
“I can learn. Besides, it’s not like there’s any road laws out there.” Cris responds, and Sunny quickly puts his seatbelt on. Cris decides not to comment, instead turning the key and starting the engine.
After a while of testing, Cris is able to turn the truck around, and start driving away from the ruined city.

In the distance, Cris spots a walled off town, guarded by several outposts containing people with guns. She doesn’t spot any symbols, but she still keeps her guard up for any potential attacks. She slows the truck down to a stop when one of the guards spots them, and she gets out, along with Sunny.
The gates in the walls open, and several guards pour out, running towards them. Once they reach them, one of them points a gun and demands, “Raise your hands.” They oblige, and the guard asks, “Do you have any weapons?”
Cris glances at Sunny, who nods, “A knife.” He slowly lowers his hand, and brings out his knife.
The guard takes it, looking it over, then orders the other guards. “Check the truck. See if there’s any bandits in there.” The others nod, quickly heading around the truck. The one guard keeps their eye on them, “Where did you come from?”
“Well, we first started our journey from Faraway. Then we got to a town that didn’t have a name yet. I scouted and found a ruined city filled with bandits, then came back and got Sunny. We then bumped into some bandits that stole this truck and came here.” Cris retells the story, then adds, “Oh by the way, the name’s Cris.”
The guard perks up, lowering their gun, “Cris? As in Cris Star Rock?” Cris slowly nods and the guard changes into a friendly tone, “Oh why didn't you say so? Someone’s waiting for you.” They then shout to the guard, “They can be trusted! I’ll just be taking them to the pacifist!”
Cris frowns, finding what the guard said familiar, but she can't place her finger on it. The guard gestures to lower their hands and follow them, and Cris and Sunny do that. They soon entered the town, which was slightly bustling with life, though one place in particular had a lot of children, and . . .
A man with a white sleeveless clock like shirt, golden belt, white bracelets, leggings, and shoes. He had white flowing hair and a chiselled jaw, and he had a very strong physique that would be quite intimidating. However, Cris knew that this man meant no harm.
“Toki!” Cris shouts out, gaining the attention of the children in front of the man, and the man, Toki, himself.
“Ah, Cris, it must have been our destiny to meet each other.” Toki greets, stands and bow. He approaches, giving a warm smile to Sunny, “And this must be Sunny. I’ve heard many things from you, more than enough to call you a friend.”
Sunny gulps, giving a bow. Toki then turns to Cris, who both stare in silence for the longest moments.
“How can I protect Sunny?” Cris knew this moment was going to happen.
“Cris.” Toki places a hand on her shoulder. “Let me tell you, that even without this ancient technique, you are still strong. Sure, you’ll need to adjust, but I promise to teach you, mostly to remind you, and Sunny, mostly to defend himself.”
“Wait, really?” Cris perks up, then bows, “Please, you don’t have to force yourself. However, we are grateful for your help.”
“My burden lies with one thing, but not related to you or Sunny in any way.” Toki reassures her, “Besides, as I said, it was fate that we met, though it is also fate that I’ll have to leave as soon as you are trained.”
Cris is confused, though despite this, she nods. Toki smiles, then requests, “Please, present your hands.” Cris does, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She feels a finger on both sides of her hands press, then a sudden shock courses through her body. It wasn’t painful, just strange. Soon, it disappears, and Cris releases her breath. “Did that hurt? How do you feel?”
“I only felt a tingle, but it was not painful.” Cris opens her eyes, and she moves her hands around, “It feels weird looking at you, as if you had several badges on you that all suddenly disappeared, and when thinking about them, my mind comes up blank.”
“Yes, that’s something you’ll feel for a while.” Toki tells her, “Now then, before we start training, please have something to eat and drink. Meet me back here, and I’ll escort you to a place where I’ll train you.”
Both Cris and Sunny nod, then they all bow to each other. Toki waves, returning back to the children, and both Sunny and Cris leave, heading towards the nearest restaurant.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
The training lasted for quite a long time. Cris was quick to relearn all the moves, all of which were strange but necessary for survival. As for Sunny, his weak body struggled with some of the moves, though the ones that didn’t involve his weight whatsoever were a breeze for him.
Soon, the sun started to set, and Toki chimes up, “Well, the time is upon us. Cris, I entrust that you can train Sunny. As for Sunny, you’re stronger than you think of yourself. As for me, I believe it’s time for me to go.”
“Wait, really?” Cris enquiries, and Toki gives her a simple nod, “Well, I won’t stop you, but will you ever visit here again?”
“I can’t promise, but I hope to see you again.” Toki tells her and she accepts his answer. Toki smiles, giving a wave as he walks away. The two of them watch as Toki exits through the gate, and Cris exhales, closing her eyes for a moment.
“Thank you.” Cris whispers, and Sunny puts a hand on her shoulder. She turns and smiles, “And thank you too, Sunny.” She gives a quick kiss to his cheek, causing the both of them to blush.
However, after a few seconds of silence, a gunshot was heard, and a guard on the tower fell down. They turn as multiple guns are fired out, and before they could react, a car crashes through the gate. The car stops with four bandits jumping out, two with guns and two with knives.
The two of the guns fire at the towers, while the other two head to the town. However, both Sunny and Cris charge towards them.
Cris kicked one to the side, causing them to fall and drop their knife. Sunny manages to trip the other, gritting his teeth as he steps on the bandits arm, causing them to let go of the knife.
Before they knew it, another came with the same set of bandits, and the two with knives sprint towards them. Cris easily disarms them, while Sunny calms himself down before using the bandit's weight against them to flip the over onto the other bandit. He smiles, though turns to see two bandits pointing their guns at him.
Cris felt time slow as she ran towards Sunny. She hears the sound of the guns firing, and she jumps, diving into him. She clenches her eyes, only hearing the sound of her heartbeat. Soon, she feels herself crash into Sunny, and they fall down together. She wraps her arms tightly around him, holding him close, internally praying over and over for his safety.
“C-Cris?” A familiar voice echoes in her mind, and she slowly peeks her eyes open. She sees Sunny look down at her with a strange expression, and she perks up. “A-Are you okay?”
Cris frowns, about to reply that she was about to ask that, but then feels a stinging in her arm. She turns to see a hole with red coming out, and she realises she has been shot. Her breathing gets heavy as she slowly turns to Sunny, “Please, keep yourself safe. Promise me.”
She now knows that Sunny’s expression was fear- Panic- No stress; Maybe all of it. She didn’t think about it as she collapsed into Sunny, and passed out.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
The first thing was that she felt someone holding her hand. She slowly opens her eyes, then cringes at the light. She slowly turns to the person holding her hand, seeing her arm bandaged, and-
“Sunny . . .” Cris speaks up, and Sunny, whose head was laying on the bed, shifts. She nudges, still feeling the pain, “Sunny, I’m awake.”
Sunny lifts his head, then perks quickly up, “Cris, you’re awake!” Tears form in his eyes as he chuckles, wiping his face, “I’m going to get the doctor, don’t panic.”
Before he could stand, a doctor enters, and notices Cris. “Ah, good, you’re awake. Please, drink some water.” They head to a table on the side and give it to Cris, who, using her non shot arm, starts to consume it. After she was half done with it, she sighs in relief and places it back. The doctor starts, “Good news, none of your veins were damaged. Bad news, it’ll take a few days for you to heal, so please rest and don’t do any heavy lifting for a month. For now, I’ll leave you and your husband be.”
The doctor leaves before they could say anything, and they both blush. Cris turns to Sunny, “H-Husband.”
“I, uh, had to say it in order to visit you. S-Sorry.” Sunny shrugs, unable to look at Cris. However, despite the pain, Cris squeezes Sunny’s hand.
“I would have down the same for you; As your wife of course#” Cris teases and Sunny sighs.
“Even when I’m worrying for your life, you still tease me.” Sunny shakes his head, though despite the complaint, it secretly assures him that it’s the same Cris.
“Ah, I apologise.” Cris says, laying her head back on her pillow. “I hope you’ve been getting sleep.”
“Eh, barely. When I did, it was on the bed behind me.” Sunny points, and Cris twists her head to see another bed beside her. Sunny then perks up, “Oh, also the bandits are gone for now.”
“Ah, that’s good.” Cris is relieved, “And the gate is rebuilt?” Sunny nods, “Right. Well, I’m feeling tired, so goodnight, or morning?”
“Morning.” Sunny answers and Cris chuckles.
“Good morning.” Cris says with a smile, staring at Sunny with her olive green eyes for a moment, before shutting them.
Sunny smiles, rubbing his thumb on Cris’ hand. He leans back, still focussing on Cris, and thinks to himself. Mostly about Cris and his training, but he’ll be patient. As long as Cris is alive, Sunny has hope for life.
One thing is for certain, they’ll stay in this town, perhaps they’ll be here forever, but whatever the case is, they’ll become the heroes and stick together. Also maybe build some place to get married, but that thought is dashed away.
Meanwhile, a man, severely injured after a fight, has his wife taken by a South Star general.
Notes:
Ambiguous endings my beloved!
Anyways, in all seriousness, thank you all for sticking around with me. It’s certainly been an experience, and I’m glad to have shared this with whoever is reading!
In The Stars Align Fic, I talked about my experience as an author, and I got to say that I definitely feel like I’ve improved myself, as well as expanded into new territories. I also decided to take it upon myself to get some help with some future fics, though with currently running fics, such as Ocean Depths One Shots, I’ll continue to have fun with it.
In said experience, I talked about a rewrite for The Strange Baby Deer and ehhhh, I’m still on the fence about it. I’m hoping to make my mind up fairly soon, but if there’s no rewrite, presume that I’ve decided to not go ahead with it.
Also, the fic You Know What? Unmakes Your Ability To Talk To Food! Is dead. Like, I’m sorry, but I just can’t. I still have like two chapters just floating, but I’m just going to post them, then announce the death of said fic . . . Soon, which means seven years lol.
Regardless, I hope you enjoyed it, and here’s to the future.
Love, -TKOY-
Chapter 16: Battle At The Hershey Kisses Factory (Special)
Summary:
Kim gets an idea to rob a Hershey Kisses Factory and convinces Sunny and Cris to help her out.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
When Sunny stepped in, he did not expect Cris to be there, though it does bring him comfort. Kim was there too, though she’s the one that invited him, so he knew she was there, but Cris? It was honestly surprising they knew each other in the first place. Actually, wait.
“Do you two know each other?” Sunny asks, getting a nod from Cris and an eye roll from Kim.
“Of course we know each other! We go to the same school! Now, sit down, nerd. Grumble grumble.” Kim grumbles, literally saying the words out loud. Sunny follows her order, placing himself next to Cris, who gives him a quick smile. Kim clears her throat, “Right, now that everyone is here, let me get started.”
“Wait, no one else is coming?” Sunny was anticipating at least one of The Hooligans or Aubrey to be here, unless they are coming later.
“No, because this job is very specific! I trust them, but this requires talent that I specifically hand picked!” Kim said with pride, then pointed to a board that Sunny only noticed now, “Anyways, no more questions until I am done!”
She picks up a marker and draws a square, “This is a Hershey Kisses Factory. As the name implies, it produces Hershey Kisses. The plan,” She grabs different coloured markers: Black, blue, and red, “Is that we are going to rob the place, and before you ask, yes, I love taffy, but there’s no factory nearby and I’m also banned from Mrs’ Candice’s candy store.”
No one was going to ask that question, though Sunny did frown at the fact Kim got banned. Before he could say anything though, she continued, “Now, the three of us will gather in front and charge in, using our weapons at anyone that gets in our way! Then grab whatever we can and run back out!” Sunny was worried as Kim got a box and placed it on the floor. However, his worry goes away once she opens it, revealing a pool noodle, water pistol, and packets of water balloons. Cris seems to eye the water pistol, though Sunny couldn’t tell.
“Anyways, that’s my plan. What do you two think?” Kim finishes, and Sunny leans back, confused at Kim’s plan. However, Cris was to ask first.
“Why not buy Hershey Kisses? I mean, I know you’re banned from Mrs’ Candice’s candy store, but there are other places.” Cris enquiries, and her first mistake was thinking Kim would buy candy.
“Wow, you really don’t know me!” Kim emphasises with a sigh, “Look, buying candy isn’t in my vocabulary, I have to steal it! And Mrs. Candice’s candy store is the only place where I can’t get into any trouble! Oh, and by the way, don’t worry about getting in trouble. I have done this before at least a dozen times, and they still don’t recognise me.”
Something about Kim’s expression made Sunny suspicious, but he decided not to question, instead questioning, “Why us?”
“You see, Cris is great with a gun!” Kim points, and Sunny turns to Cirs, seeing Cris give a simple smile while scratching her head like it’s nothing. He supposes it makes sense with her all American family, but before he could say anything, Kim points to Sunny, “And I know you love whacking people.” He frowns at that, “Hey, look, just roll with it! Besides, it’s super simple.” Sunny didn’t know how to feel. “Anyways, I throw a lot of rocks, so water balloons are what I’ll have.”
“But . . . We don’t have a choice.” Cris points out and Kim waves her hands.
“Listen, I didn’t plan every detail! Besides, you two have to make out your minds as we will be rolling out soon.” Kim huffs, and both Cris and Sunny turn to each other.
Sunny shrugs, “Alright, I’ll help, as long as we’re not hurting anyone.” He faces Kim, who shakes her head, though glances suspiciously. Again, he brushes it off to the side for now as Cris exhales.
“This is so dumb, but I’m down for it.” Cris agrees with a slight chuckle, and Kim fist pumps.
“Alright! Pick up your weapons! Don’t worry, there’s a house near the building.” Kim tells them, taking her packets and quickly hurting out, “Come on slow pokes!”
Both Cris and Sunny take their respective weapons and follow Kim out into the forest.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
For whatever reason, there was a factory in the middle of the forest with only a road connecting it to society. They were at the backside of the factory, which was fairly dull except for the windows, fans, door, and water pump.
“Okay, here.” Kim whispers, turning on the pump and filling up her balloons. “Cris, fill your gun up and go on up ahead. The back door is locked, so we have to go up front.”
Both Cris and Sunny nod, and after Cris fills her water gun, they both head around. They spotted a side entrance, which was locked, and proceeded onwards. Before they turned the corner though, they heard talking, and they stopped to listen.
“Are you sure she’ll come?” A voice sounding quite young said.
“Of course! I knew she wanted this stuff.” An older voice replies, and after a pause, they continue, “Besides, it’s not like she’s late.”
“But my legs hurt.” Another young voice whines, “Besides, why didn’t we just keep it?”
“You know the rule: If anyone challenges us, we have to commit, else, we are either cowards or a betrayer!” Another older voice answers.
“This is so dumb.” A potential adult said, though Sunny wasn’t too sure, “Man, why did I sign up to this?”
Before Cris and Sunny could listen to the rest of the conversation, they were surprised by Kim, “Hey, what are you doing?” Kim shout-whispers, causing them to turn.
“What’s going on? Who are the people out front?” Cris enquiries, gesturing with her water gun.
Kim takes a deep breath before slowly letting it out, “Okay, truth be told, we’re not going to charge into the factory. Those people actually stole from this factory, which is currently on pause at the moment, but that doesn’t matter. Anyways, I saw their box, and I challenged them to a duel and it would have been unfair if I brought The Hooligans, so I brought you two! I know I tricked you and whatnot, ao I’ll split it with you, alright?”
Her last sentence caused more questions, all of which caused Cris to glare at Kim, “You better, or I swear you-”
“Alright alright, jeez! I promise! I was and am going to! Grumble grumble.” Kim shakes her head as she grumbles. “Whatever, we need to take them by surprise, so Sunny, try to sneak up on them while Cris and I provide cover.”
However, before they could put their plan in motion, someone yells out, “Hey, is someone there?”
“Shoot! Uh, plan B.” Kim says, preparing her water balloons. She then takes a deep breath and shouts, “CHARGE!”
Kim sprints, and with no time to think, both Cris and Sunny join Kim. Kim was already chucking her balloons as Sunny ran up to them, targeting the oldest looking, getting a good distance before their element of surprise was no longer effective.
The other side retaliates by throwing their own water balloons. Only one, a younger one, had a pool noodle, which they used to block Sunny’s attack. Sunny heistates, though off of a sudden, the kid’s face is sprayed with water, causing them to fall.
Sunny glances back, seeing Cris smiling, and Sunny shivered in terror. He was snapped out of his thoughts when a water balloon zooms by his face, nearly hitting him and Cris, and he focuses back, going around and targeting the eldest again.
It felt like he was running through a long battlefield as water balloons flew past him as well as water sprays. He hears someone shout, it sounded like Kim and a kid was down, but he doesn't confirm as he reaches the older one and jabs him.
“Oh damn, got me.” The oldest didn’t seem to care, simply sitting on the ground.
“Oh come on Sam!” A slightly younger one shouted, before getting hit in the face. The other one perks and throws, hitting Cris square in the face. Sunny felt something deep inside of him shatter.
“Ha, revenge!- Oh no.” The last one standing’s face pales as Sunny rushes them and swipes them on the arm. “Ow, okay jeez! We surrender!”
Sunny blinks, looking around him, all his friends and foes are getting back up, all complaining about being soaked while he stands there, completely dry. He closes his eyes for a moment, calming himself down, “Sorry.”
“It’s fine.” The oldest reassures, then points, “Anyways, the box is there. Go wild.” Kim blurs by, taking a lot of candy. She then pauses, huffing and putting a few back before running around the corner. Cris takes some too, a bit uncertain, but she goes along with it, trailing after Kim.
Sunny, on the other hand, walks up to it and stares. He glances at the others, seeing the kids- Nom everyone in the enemy team looks down. He picks up the box and brings it over.
“Here.” Sunny shoves it in the eldest, then runs before they could say anything, following where the others went. Kim notices him approaching and frowns.
“Where’s your stuff? Don’t tell me you eat it already?” She actually looked a little concerned.
“Nah, I didn’t want it, so I gave it to the others.” Sunny tells her, getting a look, though after a moment she rolls her eyes.
“Whatever, at least it’s not my candy! Grumble grumble.” Kim hurries ahead with a grumble.
“Well, I think what you did was nice. Bet the kids like you know.” Cris gives him a smile and he hums, giving her a nod. “Say . . .”
Sunny was not expecting that, but he didn’t mind. Although- Wait, he just got a kiss on a cheek from Cris? What does this mean? She teased him and kissed him.
“Hehe, I can share more later~” Cris says, opening the packet, and popping one in her mouth. Sunny just blushes even more, still processing what happened.
“You . . . I don’t have the fruit, but do you want a date?” It made more sense in Sunny’s head, but he couldn't believe he said that.
“Sure! How about you give me that date at . . .” Cris hums, then perks up, “Oh, after lunch in your city. How does that sound?”
“That sounds good.” Sunny nods, and Cris smiles, continuing to consume her kisses.
Despite the trauma he got, Sunny knew he had a good time, and looks forward to giving a date to Cris- Okay, yeah, this is a stupid sentence.
Notes:
A bit of a twist at the end. I wanted to set up the fact that Cris and Sunny were in a relationship in the beginning of this, but I couldn’t fit it in/write it for some reason.
Maybe it could still be seen as that, but IDK.
Anyways, Happy Valentine.
Chapter 17: Golden Tail (Story and kind of prompt???)
Summary:
Cris remembers the story of a rare golden tailed mermaid, and now as an older mermaid, she does not believe it. Annoyed at all the rumours, she goes out just to prove it doesn’t exist.
Chapter Text
“Dad, tell me a bedtime story?”
“Don’t you think you’re a little too old for that?”
“Come on, please? Just once.”
“Alright then, but just know that I’m not as good as mom. And no interruptions!”
“Okay.”
“Alright, well . . . Oh, a golden tailed mermaid! I bet mom hasn’t talked about that! Right, so mermaids roam the ocean, hiding themselves from the humans who pollute and hunt us down. However, there’s a rare species of mermaid who are both scared of humans and even normal mermaids. These rare mermaids are known as golden tails, and, yes, they have scales made of gold, or at least it glitters and shines like it. If you ever catch a glimpse of one, you’ll have good luck for the rest of your life. However, golden tails have reduced significantly in population, to the point where there hasn’t been any sighting of it in ten years now! Many people say it’s a myth, but I bet there’s still at least a hundred out there for those who are determined to search for them.”
“Do you think I’ll ever find one?”
“If you’re set on finding it, and I have high hopes you will. Of course, make sure you travel carefully, okay?”
“Okay!”
“Thanks . . . Anyways, good night.”
“Night dad!”
— — — — — — — — — — — —
She couldn’t believe she was reminiscing about that, probably because of the rumours of a sighting of a golden tail. Of course, she grew up to know that golden tails weren’t real, but the fact that even the people close to her brought it up, she was starting to get annoyed.
Her name was Cris, a mermaid with blue hair, and she was actually one of the quickest of the mermaids in terms of swimming. This is good due to how aggressive humans have been on the sea lately. It’s not obvious if the humans are hunting down mermaids as a lot of other sea life have been dying out due to the humans, but the mermaids were still afraid. Cris considered that as the reason why the rumour was appearing again, but ultimately knew that it wasn’t the truth.
Still, she has been considerably lucky with avoiding humans, though when it comes to the rumour, she’s starting to think about leaving. Of course, she’ll talk to her parents and find a different location to live in that hopefully doesn’t have the rumour.
However, one day. “Say Cris, do you think we should all go as a family and search for the golden tail?” Her father enquiries with a simple and innocent smile, yet something in Cris snapped.
“Alright, fine! Sorry dad, but I’m going to have to disprove you!” Cris tells her father aggressively, making him surprised, “I’ll be back in a week! If I return with no word of a golden tail, it doesn’t exist!”
And, she leaves before her dad could get another word in.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
She was starting to feel stupid, wondering if she made the right choice, but she shakes her head, focusing on swimming. Being one of the fastest had its advantages: Catching prey easier, searching much further, though the downside is that the other mermaids are either jealous or think she has a huge ego.
“Maybe they were right . . .” Cris sighs, closing her eyes for a moment. She then clutches her fists and opens her eyes, “Doesn’t matter! I can’t turn back now, and besides, this could prepare myself for when I move . . .”
Now that she thought about it, she wondered why she was talking to herself. She chuckled a bit, jokingly thinking that she went insane. Cris takes a breath, though then spots something in the distance.
“Trash . . .” Cris practically grumbles, avoiding it and the land just in case any humans spot her. She silently wishes she can throw the trash back onto the land, but even she is afraid of getting spotted by a human. She then notices more trash in the distance, and frowns, “Urgh, I’ll need to go a different direction.”
She slightly changes her trajectory, going a bit deeper in the water, and shivering a bit. Of course, mermaids were made for the deeper waters, but they loved the warmth that was closer to the surface, especially Cris, however, right now, she knew that the coldness was better than a chance of being hunted.
Anyways, she continued on with no issue whatsoever. There was of course a bottle she saw, but those usually do tend to get to the deeper parts of the water. She ignored the bottle though, noticing how dark it was, and looking up.
“Huh, the sun is setting . . .” Cris was starting to regret saying she’ll return in a week. “Gosh, my parents must be worried!” She hated the thought. “Honestly what was I thinking! . . . Also damn, that sun is bright.”
Yet, when she covers her eyes, she spots something. It was hard to see through the shine, which seemed to be coming from this source, yet it appears to be close to the land. Cris hoped it wasn’t any humans, though as the sun fell, and the shine lessened, her mind started processing what she was seeing.
It was a boy with raven black hair, wearing a white shirt and a black vest with a tail. However, it wasn’t any ordinary tail, it was like gold, glittering and shining, even without the sunlight, which had disappeared while the cogs of Cris’ mind worked.
“Yep, I’ve gone insane.” Cris shakes her head in disbelief, staring at the . . . She couldn’t bring herself to think of the word, “A golden tail!” It seemed her mouth could say it though. She laughed at what she said, unsure what to do, though then noticed something, “Wait . . . It’s near the land . . . No, it’s sitting on it?”
She decided to get a closer look, swimming slowly, which was one of the few times she did that, and still feels strange to her. She brushed the feelings to the sides though, focusing on the golden tail in front of her, and getting a better look at him.
He then spots her, and gives a panicked expression.
“Hey, don’t swim away!” Cris shouts, immediately regretting it, but thankfully the golden tail didn’t try. She peaks her head out the surface, giving the golden tail a smile, “Uh . . . Gosh, I was not expecting this . . . My name’s Cris, and em . . . I’m not going to hurt you.”
Despite it being the truth, it felt wrong saying. She doesn’t think too much about it as the boy nervously looks at her and around him. She exhales, humming in thought. She then gets an idea.
“I guess I should tell you more about myself, like my parents! My dad’s a sports enthusiast who has a knack for losing things, but he’s got a kind heart.” Cris tells the boy, “And my mom, who just loves baking things whenever she gets the chance. See, we live in a dry cave, and she can make the best cooked meals in it! Oh, she’s also got this calming presence. I’m not sure how to describe it, and maybe it’s just a me thing, but all I can say is trust me-”
“I’m afraid of the water.” The boy quietly said and Cris said, wondering if she heard that right, “Sorry . . . I can’t join you in the water . . .”
“Oh . . .” Cris didn’t know what to say, wondering how on earth a mermaid could be afraid of the water. She then remembers, “I’m guessing it’s the humans?” The boy tilts his head from side to side, which just reverts Cris back to confusion, “Then what are you afraid of?”
“Drowning.”
“Oh . . .” Cris blinks, unsure what to say in order to comfort him. She didn’t want to point out the obvious, though a part of her wondered what happened. Still, she won’t ask, instead, she said, “How about . . . I get over your fears of drowning?” If it was for any other mermaid, she would have found it ridiculous, but for the boy, something about him made her reconsider.
“I . . . O-Okay.” The boy gulps, slowly slipping into the water. Cris approaches cautiously with her arms out, and grabs him by the sides. They float, gazing into each other's eyes for a moment before Cris snaps herself out of their state.
“Now, I’ll bring you down. You can take a breath, but I promise you can breathe underwater.” Cris said, though the boy frowned, “Is something wrong?”
“You . . . I suppose I should explain . . . While I am afraid of drowning, I do know how to breathe underwater.” The boy explains, and Cris gives a puzzled expression, “I . . . It’s complicated and I don’t want to talk about it . . . Anyways, since I already know, then how will you help me?”
That was the tricky part. “Well, first, let’s go underwater.” Cris tells, letting the boy go. He agrees with her, and they both sink their heads underwater. “Can you hear me?” Cris asks and the boy nods, “Okay, well come with me, let me show you something.”
She swims, feeling his presence above and looking up. She can tell he was uncertain, but she knows this place will take his breath away. Wait, didn’t that contradict her goal? She didn’t think about it too much, going deeper into the water.
After a while, Cris spots it, and points, “Over there, see that ship?” Cris looks up and sees the boy in awe. She smiled, “Yep, it’s a real wooden ship. I visit there from time to time, and there’s one spot in particular I like to sit on."
They swim all the way to the ship, and scale it, going to the top of the mast. Cris relaxes her tail on the edge, and pats the spot beside her. The boy slowly joins her, and she gestures, “Look at all of that, the deep abyss with sparkling lights. Those lights are jellyfish, and while they are dangerous, they are very pretty to look at from a distance.”
“Huh . . . It’s really gorgeous.” The boy is marvelled by the sight, though after a moment, he asks, “But, how is this supposed to help?”
“Are you afraid?” Cris simply questions and the boy is shocked. Cris gives a smile, leaning her head to the side, “Having a friend there to help you through your problems is really nice, at least I like to think of you . . . Despite not knowing your name.”
“Oh gosh, I didn’t tell you my name?” The boy perks up and Cris laughs, shaking her head. The boy’s ears blush in embarrassment, and he turns his head away, “My name is . . . Sunny.”
“That’s a nice name, Sunny. I hope we can be friends.” Cris holds out her hands and Sunny slowly turns to her. He takes a moment, staring between her and her hand.
“Uh, sure, but why are you holding out your hand? Is there somewhere else you want to take me?”
It was Cris’ turn to be embarrassed. At least this time she didn’t know how little interaction Sunny the golden tailed mermaid had.
Of course though, she was going to change that in more ways than one.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“I swore I saw two mermaids swimming, Hero!”
“Mermaids are a myth, Kel, I’m sorry.”
“Oh come on! Please? They should arrive soon.”
“Kel . . .”
“Don’t give me that sigh!”
“Kel, you know what happened to the mermaids, right?”
“. . . I swear . . .”
“The Recycultist got them all.”
“. . . I . . .”
“And besides, why would they go into this water? I know it’s not touched by Recycultist, but even I wouldn’t return to a place with trash.”
“Say . . . Um . . . I just got this random thought Hero . . .”
“Yeah . . .?”
“What if Basil was here?”
“. . .”
“I’m sorry for bringing it up, but this area wasn’t always like this!”
“Kel-”
“Heck, look, these flowers. They may be flowers, but those were totally grown by Basil-”
“Kel! Please, stop . . .”
“I . . . I’m sorry, Hero.”
“No, it’s fine, I shouldn’t have raised my voice, and I know how much you missed him ever since he disappeared . . . I’m certain he’ll come back.”
“Ooh, maybe the mermaids will return them.”
“Kel . . .”
“Don’t give me that sigh!”
“Heh, one day . . . One day.”
“You’re weird . . . Anyways, I’m starving! Gino’s?”
“Sure, Gino’s.”
As they walk away, a blond boy is trapped underwater.
Notes:
Ambiguous ending my beloved.
There are a lot of tell, don’t show in this chapter and I also felt that some sentences were a bit wrong (? IDK how to explain). Sorry.
Also, I added a bit of crack (Yes, I consider Recycultist crack) because I haven’t done any in a good while. I also haven’t done any prompts like Sunfish High School, so I think I’ll do that next chapter. BTW, it won't be April Fools thing since I feel that is too soon.
Chapter 18: Samurai Cris (Prompt)
Summary:
Sunny still wonders how he got a girlfriend, even though he thinks he doesn’t deserve her. Regardless, he’ll do anything to make her happy, even going to a festival and revealing that she was secretly a master of the katana . . . Well, he can’t judge, plus it would be hypocritical of him to point out she kept a secret.
Chapter Text
A man enters his home after a long day with his girlfriend. She gives him a wave as she walks away from his sight. After she disappears around the corner, the man sighs, shutting the door. His hand remains on the frame, looking down on himself.
“I had a good time, but I couldn’t ask her . . .” Sunny, the man, speaks to himself in frustration, “I need to ask her next time.” He leaves the door, going past the kitchen and to his room.
He remembered when Cris, his girlfriend, started to talk and spend time with him, until one day, she asked him out on a date two months ago, and they have been dating since then. It was harder to go out due to Cris going back to school, but she managed to fit time for him. It made him guilty that she focused on him rather than her studies. Why, well . . .
“Why would she date me?” Sunny enters his room, stepping to his bed. Even after he told her the truth, she continues to go out with him. “Can’t she see that I’m not worthy.” Despite Sunny’s progress in bettering himself, he still has a long way to go.
Sunny flops onto his bed, slightly tired, but not enough to sleep. He doesn’t have much to do in his room, so he lets his mind wander. He thinks about Cris, someone who has been taking up more and more of his mind lately. Not that he’s complaining though, however, sometimes his thoughts become more depressive, like Cris becoming angry at it. Then again, he does deserv-
Suddenly, there was a knock on his door, and he perks, curious who it is. He leaves his bed, walks out his room, and heads through the living room. He checks through the peephole, only to see Cris grinning with excitement, holding some sort of paper.
Sunny unlocks and opens the door, and before he could get a word in, Cris shows the other side of the paper, “I’ve always wanted to visit this festival!” She shows him a poster advertising an upcoming festival. “Apparently it’s that time of year where the cherry blossom tree blooms, and I would love to see it.”
“Oh, okay, sure.” Sunny is slightly caught in surprise, but since he doesn't have much to do on the date of the festival, he accepts it anyway. “It doesn't seem that far from where I live, but I’ll have my mom drive me there.”
“Thank you Sunny!” Cris grins widely, handing him the poster, “Don’t worry, I have another poster with me.” Cris assures him and starts walking away, “I’ll see you there, Sunny!”
And once again, Sunny waves, shutting the door once she rounds the corner. He looks down at the poster. If it makes Cris happy, then he’ll go. Maybe during the event he’ll find out why Cris dates him.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“Sunny!” Cris waves with a large smile, wearing a blue hat and blue robes. Sunny approaches her, and she points, “Ah, it seems you don’t have an outfit. Well don’t worry, it’s fine.” She waves her hand.
“Yeah . . .” Sunny glances around him, noticing the variety of people weaning similar clothing to Cris’, though some were wearing casual clothing. He also notices the variety of stalls all selling different stuff like foods, charms, banners, and other things. “I do kind of want an outfit.”
“You do!” Cris perks up in surprise, tapping her chin. “Well first, can we see the cherry blossom? Then we can get you some new clothing.” Sunny nods at that, and Cris takes his hand, “Come on, it isn’t far from here.”
Sunny follows along, squeezing past people and going around stalls. Sunny looks up to Cris, noticing her excited grin, and he feels glad that she is enjoying herself. Eventually, they spot the cherry blossom, which thankfully, doesn’t have a lot of people around it.
They step up to it, and Cris stares up with awe, her eyes sparkling. Sunny couldn’t help but smile, glancing between her and the cherry blossom. Suddenly though, he remembers what he wants to ask. He thinks that it’s probably not the right moment, but on the other hand, there might not be another moment.
“Hey Cris.” Sunny chimes up, getting her attention, “Can I ask you something?” Cris blinks and nods at him. Sunny takes a deep breath, unsure whether to gaze into her olive green eyes or away from her, “Why do you-”
Suddenly, people start screaming, and they turn their heads towards the source. They spot rising smoke coming from a distance and people scattering. Cris squeezes Sunny’s hand, her expression shifting.”
“We need to-” Suddenly Cris lets go, heading to the nearest stall, and purchasing a samurai sword. Sunny stares in confusion as she returns, “What-”
“Hah, we found you.” These people wearing a variety of different robes run towards them, all wearing masks. They wield swords, and Sunny could tell they were real. “You can no longer run, Cris! You and your loved ones will die!”
Sunny takes a step back while Cris positions herself. The people run out to them as Sunny hears his heart beating faster and faster. His mouth opens, glancing at Cris.
“What’s happening?”
Sunny blinks, and suddenly, all three people lay on the ground, swords scattered. Cris pants, holding her sword to the ground. She turns to him, her expression turning back to normal.
“Sunny . . . There’s a lot to explain . . . But . . . Right now, we need to leave.” Cris grabs him and pulls him away, “I promise to give you a robe later!” She shouts as they start running away.
All Sunny can do is be dragged away, glancing every so often at the smoke rising into the sky. His mind races along with his heart, but for now, he decides to follow along with Cris. They head into a forest, and the smoke disappears from sight.
They stop, gathering their breath and let go of each other’s hand. After a moment, Cris speaks up, “I want you to know that boarding school wasn’t exactly the place where I spent time swimming in the ocean. Don’t get me wrong, I love both of them, but I mainly trained with a sword.”
“S-Slow down . . .” Sunny holds up his hand, “I . . . Sorry, this is so much.” Cris hums and waits for Sunny to process. Sunny rubs his head, taking a deep breath, “Do your parents know?” She nods, “Okay, and what were those people.”
“To put it simply, they most likely came from the rival’s of my boarding school. Either that, or they were mercenaries, but judging by what they said, I doubt it.”
“Right . . .” Sunny removes his hand from his head. He then perks up, “Wait, you and you’re loved ones will die.”
Cris waves her hand, “Pfft, it’s an empty threat. As long as I’m not near my family or anyone I love, they’ll be fine.”
“I . . . See . . .” Sunny gives a concerned expression, but doesn’t think about it too much, “So . . . How long have you been . . . Uh . . .”
“A samurai.” Cris clarifies, then explains, “It’s not the normal type where you wear armour and stuff, though the option is available.” Cris pauses, then adds with a slight guilt on her face, “Oh, and if you were wondering, I was going to tell you, but a bit later. I do trust you, I just wasn’t ready to show you this!”
She gestures to herself, and Sunny isn’t sure how to respond. Cris continues with a sad expression, “Now that you know about it, and those people have come after me and seen you, well . . .”
“You are a part of this now, Sunny. I am so sorry.”
Honestly, Sunny doesn’t know how to react to that, but he knew that Cris regretted her words. However . . .
“Then teach me.”
He will try to make her happy.
=== === === === === ===
Prompt:
- Cris teaches Sunny how to use a sword, and while she isn’t as good as her master’s, Sunny listens to every single word. She also teaches how to disarm and knock people out. This is so that Sunny doesn’t have to kill anyone.
- Sunny learns more about Cris at boarding school as they get closer and closer.
- More and more people show up to fight, with a few facing Sunny alone. But thankfully Sunny manages to defend himself.
- Eventually, Sunny asks why she’s dating him, and she explains what he’s like: Kind, patient, a good listener, always striving to be better, and cute.
- Of course, they do go on more dates, and even fight before/during/after dates. On one date, they kiss (Yippee!)
IDK what else to put. Let me know what you think about this prompt.
Notes:
Originally I was going to do a fic where Cris was a samurai, it was Headspace to reality, which was caused by a cursed necklace that Sunny got.
However, things have changed since then. I’m still doing the Headspace to reality thing, but samurai Cris no longer fitted in there, so I put the idea here here.
Chapter 19: You’ve Been Burned, Let The Water Sooth Your Pain (Story/Idea)
Summary:
Sunny meets Cris, though when he returns to his house, he sees it burning. Cris brings him to her house, worried how Sunny is dealing with it.

Chapter Text
The sun shines down into the living room. A boy, Sunny, glances to the window, taking a deep breath. He hears the clock ticking, echoing through his mind, and he sighs longingly.
Honestly, it’s been a while since he’s gone out, mostly because he’s afraid, but also knowing that he is alone. Then again, it’s not like he could talk to his friends after what he told them. He doesn’t regret his actions, of course.
Regardless, he ponders the option for a moment before standing up and heading to the door. He puts his shoes on, picks up the house keys, and opens the door. He exits, shuts the door behind him, and locks it.
He starts to walk down the bustling street, trying to keep to himself, but bumps into a few people and apologizes. Sunny felt something rise in his chest, and the more he travels, the more he wonders if he should turn back.
“Oh, sorry.” Sunny bumps into a blue haired girl, however, he blinks in surprise at that description, “Wait, Cris?”
“Sunny? Is that you?” Cris turns to him, and perks up with a smile. Her clothing remains unchanged, except for her shirt, which is now a green shirt with dark green waves going across it, “Oh man, I almost didn’t recognise you because of that eyepatch. Ah, sorry for pointing that it.”
“It’s okay.” Sunny assures her, looking down the street, and spotting the variety of stores, “Why did you visit this town?” That sounded harsh, but he’s been practicing.
“I heard there is a sale going on in one of the shops. I can’t really remember what the shop sold, but I know it was ocean related. Of course, I’m also here to try out the sushi as well. It’s been a long time since I’ve had some.”
Sunny hums at that, thinking to himself for a moment, “Do you want me to join? Only if you want me to, Cris?”
“Why sure! It would be nice to have a friend to keep me company.” Cris smiles, and Sunny perks up at what she said. However, before he can process it, she charges ahead, “Come on, Sunny.”
He nods, following her behind. He doesn’t mind the thought of Cris as a friend, though he does want to know her more. Of course, he feels selfish thinking about it. After all, he can’t control her.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“Man, that was good sushi! That makes up for us not getting anything at the store.” Cris exhales in bliss, then chuckles a bit, “I suppose that was the store’s fault. Anyways, I’m guessing it’s time for us to head home, huh?”
“Oh?” Sunny glances up, only realizing that the sun is low in the sky, though not low enough to call it sunset. “It is.”
“Well, I enjoyed myself. What about you, Sunny?” Cris asks, and she receives a nod, “Good, we should do this again sometime. I mean, why not, right?”
“Uh, okay . . .” Sunny agrees, staring at her for a moment, then glancing away. He frowns at what Cris said, wondering why she would spend time with him, “I don’t have much going on.”
Cris hums at that, and they continue down the street. However, soon, they see dark in the sky, “Huh? Is it going to rain? No, it looks like it’s rising.” Cris points out, squinting her eyes, “Smoke.”
“Why does it . . .” Sunny trails off, feeling his heart drop. He quickens his pace, his ears starting to ring, his heart racing, and his mind begging it not to be true.
Yet, the closer he gets, the more it starts to dawn on him. He approaches, then stops just far enough to confirm the horrifying truth.
“Sunny?”
“My house is burning?”
Cris didn’t know what to do, except place her hand on his shoulder. “Hopefully you’re mom’s okay.”
“Mom . . .” Sunny speaks, his voice indescribable, but it’s something that provokes a deep misery. Cris stays silent.
At that moment, they hear the sirens start to approach.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“Sunny?” She called out, not getting a response. “Do you want something to eat? Drink?” She stares at him as he sits on her bed. She sits at her desk, her hands placed on her lap.
It has been nearly three hours now, the sun has completely gone now, and their journey to her house was both long and short. She didn’t know how to describe it, but she didn’t like the way he followed her, especially his eye.
His eye stares deep in her soul despite how dead it is.
“Do you want to rest?” Cris enquiries, and the only response she got was him laying in bed and covering himself, then closing his eye. Cris sighs, then stands, walks across her room, and sits down on the bed. He shuffles, but does not wake.
She sighs, staring at him with worry. She wishes she can help, but she’s not good at this. She doesn't know how long her parents are willing to keep Sunny here, though she knows they're kind enough to let him stay for a while.
That still doesn't remove the problem though. There's got to be something she can do, even if she's not as close as his other friends. Cris perks up, remembering Sunny’s friend, Kel.
“Don’t worry Sunny, even if I can’t solve your problems, I will find a way to help you.” She promises, still gazing at him, “You don’t deserve this, no one does.”
Sunny listens to her as he drifts to sleep. He wants to argue, but he’s too tired to do so.
Welcome Back to Whitespace.
### ### ### ### ### ###
A shorter setup story, but one that could lead to something a bit bigger.
Prompt:
- Sunny feels himself teetering on the edge of repressing again. This time however, he has Cris to help him.
- All his friends didn’t take the truth lightly. They didn’t hurt either Basil or Sunny, but Sunny could feel the hate from them.
- His mother is dead.
- Sunny’s Whitespace is quite different, with an updated laptop, a sketchbook with different pages, and Mewo is no longer there. He’s not in Whitespace to repress, he’s there to escape.
Because he wants to escape, perhaps the door is like the lightbulb. He uses it if the pain gets too much, though I’m unsure about Headspace. Once again, I feel that Headspace was a form of escapism. - Back to it, in the next morning, Cris has to get Kel, though Kel feels that his world has been broken because of a truth. Despites this, Kel still worries about his friend.
- Jumping slightly ahead
- For Aubrey, her anger will no longer work for her, but she doesn’t know what to do. She definitely doesn’t want to be like her mother, but the thought of taking just a sip gets more tempting.
- Hero felt something towards Sunny, but soon he felt something towards himself as well. He doesn't know what this something is, but balances between these feelings, and he’s afraid that when he sees Sunny, he’ll hurt him. The same goes for Basil, just to let you know.
- As for Basil, he didn’t fully get rid of his trauma. He knows that Sunny did it, but for himself, he feels like the worst person ever, and with Polly having to move because of her job, he feels his whole world start to crumble apart.
Yeah, I wanted an angst prompt for Sunfish, and honestly, I think I did well. Let me know what you think.
Notes:
I was also thinking of doing a section where I ask myself, “I like this prompt, but why don’t I write it?”
I suppose the majority of the reasons would be because I don’t know how to write some of them, or how to proceed with them. But I’ll have to see.
Chapter 20: Picnic (Simple story + Headcanon stuff)
Summary:
The All American Family and Sunny all have a nice picnic. All American Mom waits for her burger while All American Guy cooks for his wife, daughter, and future son in law. Wait, what was that last part?
Notes:
Decided to do something simple with a little extra afterwards.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
On a beautiful day where the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the flowers are blooming, Cris and Sunny sit on a picnic blanket, eating burgers. Nearby, the father of Cris flips a patty, and places a separate one on a bun. The mother of Cris places the burger on the plate, chatting and smiling.
“Do you think we’ll one day grill together like my mom and dad, Sunny?” Cris asks after finishing her burger. Sunny perks up, taking a small bit and swallowing.
“That would be nice to do, but do you know how to grill?” Sunny questions and Cris opens her mouth, only to shut it and look down.
“So, what are you two talking about?” Cris’ mother sits on the blanket, “You look like you have something on your mind, Cris.”
“We’d like to be taught how to grill.” Cris replies, glancing to Sunny for confirmation, and he nods along.
“Oh? Really?” Cris’ mother smiles, placing down her plate. She stands, gesturing to them to stand, “Well, I know the perfect person.”
They follow her to Cris’ father, who notices them approaching, “Ah, is something the matter? It can’t be my burgers, hehe.”
“Actually, they want to know how to grill a burger.” Cris’ mother tells him, and he perks up. “Now, listen carefully to him, okay? I’ll watch from the blanket.” She returns to the blanket.
“Not, grilling a burger can be tricky and scary at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be grilling in no time.” Cris’ father says, bending down, and shutting the propane tank off, “Now this is a propane tank, bought from Strickland Propane. There is another method that you can use to grill, and that’s charcoal, but for now, let me show you how to use the propane tank.”
Cris’ father shows the tube, the valve, and the other miscellaneous stuff. Before they knew it, the fire was lit up once again. They stand back up, and Cris’ father places the patty on the grill.
“Now, sometimes, you may have to buy meat, separate it from itself, and flatten it with your hands, but the meat I got is already in shape.” Cris’ father gets a spatula, “We wait until the patty starts to sizzle, then give it about thirty seconds, flip it over, and do the same for the other side. Of course, you can keep flipping if you’re unhappy with how it looks, but be careful not the burn it.”
Cris’ father shows them how to flip the patter, then gives it to Cris. He stands back and watches them, chuckling a bit when Cris struggles to flip. Once she does, she gives it to Sunny, who tries to flip, but the patty slips between the bars.
“Don’t worry. Here.” Cris’ father switches the grill off and gets the tonsils. He manoeuvres them through the bars and picks them out. He twists it around to check it, “It still looks good. Next time, try to be more confident, okay?”
He picks out the other patties, then turns the grill on again and places a fresh batch of patties on it. Sunny is the one to flip first, and he manages to turn the patty. He gives it to Cris, who is able to do the same.
“Ah, great job you two. Now, once those are down, you can use the spatula and place them on the buns.” Cris’ father tells them, then points, “Now, I’ll be at the blanket. If anything bad happens, give me a shout.”
They nod, still focused on the girl, and Cris’ father chuckles. He walks towards the blanket, and joins his wife by sitting next to her.
“Look at them. It’s so nice, don’t you think?” Cris’ mother says with a proud smile. She then does a short laugh, “You didn’t even pretend to defend Cris, like you always do.”
“Eh, the boy deserves a break.” Cris’ father waves it off, “Besides, I can protect my daughter tomorrow.” He receives a look, “You know I’m joking.”
“Max . . .” Cris’ mother sighs, and Cris’ father shrugs. After a moment, Cris’ mother looks over with concern, “You know, I’m actually worried.” Cris’ father glances at her, “It’s just . . . The thing on the news . . .”
“Oh, don’t worry about it.” Cris’ father places his hand on her shoulder, “Those people are nowhere near us, or Sunny. The government would have done something by the time those people become a threat.”
“I suppose you’re right.” Cris’ mother is uplifted, then slightly turns away, “Not only that, but when they’re living together, they’ll be able to protect each other.”
“Yep . . . Hold on just a minute.”
They all had 4 burgers each that day, enough to feed a family.

Headcanon:
Cris’ Father -
In the game files, one of the sprites is called Max Rock. I probably said this before, but I just wanted to let you know.
He always wanted to act protective when it comes to Cris. If it’s someone good, there’s nothing to worry about, if it’s someone bad, then he is serious.
He took Cris to a gun range. He didn’t let her shoot since she wasn’t old enough though. He did take Cris fishing though, and let her fish.
He grew up watching American football. Hasn’t stopped watching since, like, 7?
He does work, but since he sits on the sofa for the majority of the time, everyone assumes he’s lazy.
Cris’ mother -
Not many people know her name, not even Sunny. She usually gets interrupted when she tries to tell someone.
It’s said she’s never been angry, though she has been disappointed. The closest time she was angry was when some bad boy tried flirting with her daughter.
Cris’ mother, to this day, hasn’t gone with Cris to pick up hair dye. Honestly, Cris’ mother is just afraid that she’ll pick the wrong tone of blue.
Cris’ mother picks up odd jobs when Cris and her husband are out the house. Cris’ mother also enters in pie contests.
She always wanted to play the guitar, but she never decided to try. However, she may actually go for it in the future.
OLD ART
Man, this is really old. Let me tell you, I was just starting pixel art, and used the sprites in a way, so this was before the I decided to expand the size.
Notes:
I wonder if someone will get the reference I put in.
Anyways, let me know if you have any headcanons for Cris’ parents.

Chapter Text
In an infinite void with vast amounts of galaxies lay the Milky way. Contained in this is billions and billions of stars, the majority having asteroids and planets. One star in particular, the sun, stands out from the rest as it has a planet with life. Note: This is published on the 20th of July in the year 2024, so this information may be outdated.
Anyways, this habitable planet has many species, though one stands out from the rest, and that is Humans. Humans live across the globe, building societies, inventing things, creating and destroying, and there’s an enormous amount of other accomplishments and failures that the humans have gone through.
Today, we’re not here to live through it as we are exploring the relationship of two human beings: Sunny, someone who likes playing video games, reading comics, spending time with his friends, and wandering off in his own imaginative mind. The second is Cris, someone who has blue hair, is a great swimmer, and a love for the ocean.
The two met by chance, as if [REDACTED] had a plan for them. Of course, if someone doesn’t believe it, then [REDACTED] can also work.
Regardless, they did not know what was planned for them as, at the time, they were practically strangers, only having met once, potentially in when they were younger, though both their memories of that day are long gone.
Still, they got along very well. One of the first things Sunny did was get seashells for Cris, and Cris returns his kindness by making a necklace for Sunny. This created a spark, and soon their feelings started to grow and eventually.
One day, Cris gives Sunny a heart-shaped box, meanwhile Sunny gives a fish. The two kissed, and began to go out.
Now, that was fairly fast, but it is all to bring us to the present. Cris strolls down the street of Faraway town, one hand out in the breeze while the other in her pocket, clutching a strange box in excitement and anxiety. She still smiles, thinking of all the ways her plan can go, and ignoring the bad scenarios.
Suddenly, she spots Sunny at the place she said she would meet him. Her heart skips a beat as she stops, ogling him for afar, and watching him daydream. She gives a longing sigh as she proceeds onwards, trying to settle herself.
“Hey Sunny!” Cris raises her voice, hoping her anticipation is not too obvious. Sunny perks up and turns to her, his ears turning red. She gives a chuckle and teases, “I can see someone likes to see me.”
“Cris . . .” Sunny says with slight embarrassment, however, he is able to return, “Of course I am.” He gives her a smile, one that she always likes.
“Gah, Sunny!” Cris is tempted to cover her face, but she then suddenly remembers what is in her pocket. “This time, I have something, and it is very important.” Sunny gives a curious look, gaining his full attention. Cris takes a deep breath, thinking of how she can word it.
“Sunny.” She starts, “Everything we have done feels exciting, and a lot of our dates are unique, like that time we danced in fish costumes, or when we sent each other random postcards.” The postcard of the octopus cat, or catopus, is her favourite, “Anyways, the point being, we’ve had a long journey together, but there’s one thing I think can improve this.”
Cris pauses for unnecessary dramatic effect, and Sunny slightly tilts his head. She grins, taking a deep breath, and pulling out her box. She kneels down on one leg and reveals what is inside.
“Sunny.”
“Will you have this steak?”
Sunny widens his eyes in shock, slightly stepping back. He stares down at her, and Cris starts to get a little worried, no longer able to block out the negative thoughts.
“Yes!” Sunny replies, and Cris feels both relieved and joyous as she stands up, and hugs him. She feels his arms wrap around her, and she exhales.
“I love you, Sunny.” Cris tells him. Something she has done quite a lot of times, and she does not see herself stopping, well, ever.
“I love you too, Cris.” Sunny says to her. Again, something he has repeated to her, but every time, it gets better and better.
They pull away, gazing into each other. This next step is something that they have worried about taking, but now they are grateful to be together.
Eventually, they step closer, but not for another hug as they lean in. They block out the sounds, smells, and sight of the world, only focusing on the other.
Until they ki-
Connection terminated.
“Why did you do that?”
“As nice as that is, we need that report. So?”
“Well, if I’m honest, they are a bit goofy, and the start was long. Not only that, but it seems there was something previous.”
“It is said these two were the first to be documented. Other than our leaders, of course.”
“Indeed . . . Question, there were two redactions? Why?”
“Hmm, let’s see . . . Ah, god and fate. No idea why, but the leaders are thinking of cutting the two words. Something about how it exists because it will or something.”
“Whatever the case being, I’m glad I was able to record them. Heck, they were so distracted by one another, I could have waltzed right in!”
“Heh, I suppose, but don’t underestimate them..”
“I know, I know.”
“Anyways, we should give this recording to the leader. Do you think they’ll tell us to invite or move on to the next place?”
“Eh, they seem very focused on each other, so probably the latter.”
“Indeed. Anyways, love you.”
“Love you too.”
Notes:
Happy birthday Sunny!
Chapter 22: Fishing On Pluto (Story)
Summary:
Cris and Sunny try out this new technology, which sends them to Pluto. Well, not really. It's more VR stuff.
Chapter Text
“Yo, this place is so cool!” Kel looks around the arcade with wide eyes, bouncing around on his feet, “And there’s basketball games too! This is a dream come true.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you are correct.” Aubrey says with an impressed nod, staring directly at a Spaceboy arcade machine, “Are you sure you should be using these tickets on us Hero? Don’t you have college friends?”
“Well, I do, but I feel like I should give you all a gift.” Hero tells them with a smile, “Besides, since Basil didn’t want to join, I can still give it to one of them, though I’m not sure who yet.”
“Regardless, thank you for this.” Cris gives a wide grin, only out matched by Kel, who was already playing a basketball game. She turns to Sunny, “Do you want to search together, Sunny?”
“Sure.” Sunny agrees, and he feels that everyone in the arcade is smugly smiling at him, including those two familiar figures in robes. “Huh?” He receives an eyebrow raise from Cris, and Sunny shakes his head, “Nevermind.”
“Anyways, you two have fun. I gotta make sure Kel doesn’t accidentally break something, like a new record.” Hero leaves them, and Cris is confused.
“Don’t ask. That was a long day.” Aubrey speaks like she has seen horrors, and Sunny matches with his distant stare. The two snap out of their state, and Aubrey points behind her, “Regardless, I’m going to be distracted for an hour. So if you need me, you’ll have to wait.”
She leaves them, heading straight for the Spaceboy arcade machines. Cris and Sunny then turn to each other, and Cris holds out her hand, “I suppose this could be a date.”
“Yeah, that sounds nice.” Sunny’s ears feel warm as he takes Cris’ hand, and the two head into the arcade. They are surrounded by many families, bright lights, and flashing arcades. Even Cris would be overwhelmed by all of this if she was alone, but with Sunny, she has someone to ground her.
“Huh?” Sunny hums, and Cris glances, noticing him staring at something. She follows where he is looking at, and spots a sectioned off area with a sign saying that it was future tech. It seemed so fancy and space-like, and Cris smiled at the idea.
“You know, we could check out the future tech.” Cris suggests, knowing that Sunny has an appreciation for all things related to space. Sunny nods at what she said, and the two head on over to the future tech section.
Before entering, a staff member asks if they are paying or if they have a ticket. Cris and Sunny show the tickets, and the staff member has a strange expression, glancing around quickly before nodding and stepping away, allowing them through.
The two enter, and Cris frowns, “I wonder what that was all about.” Cris questions out loud, but shrugs it off, “Ah whatever. Let’s do something, like . . .” Cris searches around, though notices Sunny leading the way, “You see something, Sunny?”
She lets him bring her over to a strange setup containing controllers and futurist looking goggles. The staff member greets, first warning them they could be distorted, and asking them to sign a liability waiver. Sunny is the one to read through it while Cris waits, and he nods and signs it, handing the pen to Cris, who does the same.
The staff picks up the controller, places them in their hands, then gets the goggles, and puts them on their heads. Sunny and Cris stand there, staring into the blank screen, then eventually, the screen changes, and an area forms in front of them.
“Woah . . .” Cris says, and they see a rocky land in front of them. Above, they notice a bunch of stares, and they realise- “We’re in space?”
“Pluto.” Sunny clarifies, and she turns to him, seeing him staring up at space. “I read it on the sheet of paper.” He tells her, turning his head towards her, and she nods.
“Interesting . . . So what do we do? Explore?” Cris questions and Sunny shrugs. She perks up, “Hold on, these controllers . . . How do we move-” Just as she says that, she points her hand forward, and sees a flowing ring. She presses a button, and suddenly, she blinks and finds herself away from Sunny, “Oh wow, how weird! Going to have to get used to this.”
Sunny nods, pointing his hand, and suddenly warping near her. The two play around with their warping, seeing how far or close they could go, seeing if they could warp in the sky, and other various experiments. Soon, Cris finds a small hole, which she teleports into.
“You know, this seems quite detailed. I mean, how much do we know about Pluto anyways?” Cris inquiries as she gets out of the hole.
“Not sure. I think they made it for fun.” Sunny suggests, and Cris hums at that. Before she could reply, Sunny adds on, “I mean, I doubt there is water on Pluto.”
Sunny points, and Cris perks up and turns. In the distance, she can see a fairly large hole with water inside it. She could also spot what appears to be sticks. “Let’s go towards it.” Cris suggests.
Giving a nod, Sunny travels beside Cris towards the water, and as they approach, they start to realise that the wooden sticks are fishing rods. Slightly confused by it, they soon reach the water and the fishing rods. Sunny observes the fishing roads before reaching out, and grabbing one. Well, it would be better to describe the fishing rod attaching to Sunny’s hand, but neither were concerned.
“I think we just . . . Fish?” Sunny gives an uncertain shrug. Cris stares at him for a moment, then decides to go along with his idea by reaching out for the other fishing rod, seeing it glow, and pressing a button to attach it to her hand.
“I don’t see anything else we could do.” Cris says, looking around the land and seeing nothing but stray rocks and holes, as well as space. “Besides, who knows what cool fish they designed for this.” Cris sits down after she says this, then pulls back her rod and chucks the line into the water.
Sunny does the same, sitting down next to her, and casting into the water. The two sit there for a moment, then Sunny smiles, “We’re fishing on Pluto.”
“Pfft, yeah.” Cris chuckles a bit, smiling as she focuses on the bobbers. “You know, even if we do not catch anything, this is quite peaceful.”
She hears Sunny hum in agreement, and with that, the two sit silently on Pluto, waiting for fish.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“Oh hey there you two, did you enjoy yourselves?” Hero asks as they approach. Kel holds a few prizes in his arms, meanwhile Aubrey rubs her bandaged fist. She got that from one of those boxing strength testers.
“Yes, we did.” Cris replies, and Sunny nods along. One of Kel’s toys drops, and Hero gives a sigh, shaking his head.
“Oh man, I dropped a toy! Can one of you pick it up for me?” Kel asks, and Hero gives a desperate look. Sunny is the one to kneel down, and pick it up. He sees that it is a simple cat plush, which Kel notices, “Hey, that one! That’s for you, Sunny.”
“Thank you.” Sunny replies, staring at the cat for a moment, finding it quite cute, then he soon manages to glance at Hero. “Ready to go?”
“Yep! In fact, I think we could get lunch at Gino’s if you guys want?” Hero says, and they all nod. He smiles, and turns around. They all exit the arcade.
“So, what did you guys do?” Aubrey asks Cris.
“We were just at the experimental future tech at the back.” Cris points, then after a moment, she receives a strange look, “Is something wrong, Aubrey?”
“I thought I saw you guys in robes . . .” Aubrey says to them, knowing how crazy she sounded. She receives a frown from both Cris and Sunny, and Aubrey shrugs, “Must have been my imagination.”
Cris and Sunny are curious, but decide to ask about it later. For now though, they exit the arcade with a new memory they could talk about later.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“I think we were spotted. Thankfully there appears to be no report, but we have to be more careful.”
“How would we approach them now that they have seen us?”
“I’m not saying they spotted us, but their friend did.”
“Ah, I see . . . Still, what should we do?”
“All we can do is wait . . . In fact, we could try out that future technology thing they did. It seemed fun from their expressions.”
“Sure! Should we go now?”
He receives a nod from her, and the two head back to the arcade. Perhaps they too will also fish on Pluto, or maybe something else.
Notes:
I found this funny in concept. I was also extremely tempted to put Pluto in it, but no.
Anyways, I really want to put Sunny's friends in more stories. Not saying that will all be in every story, but there will be at least one of them.
Chapter 23: Convergence (Prompt + Crossover)
Summary:
When two flowing rivers meet up as one, it’s called a convergence. When two people meet up, that is also known as a convergence to some degree. Two realities, two rivers, and two people, all converging into one story.
Notes:
Don’t take the summary too seriously, and the prompt. I wrote both like two years ago, and I do not know what I was cooking.
Anyways, this is a crossover with Avatar The Last Airbender. I’m unsure if it is before, during, or after the events.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Starting with the prompt because I feel that it is better to start off like this.
- Sunny’s father left when Sunny was 11. Then, at age 12 or 13, fire nation soldiers attacked the town. Sunny’s mother and Mari did not make it, but Sunny survived. Now he’s living with Kel’s family and helping out whenever he can.
- Kel, Hero, and their parents all ran during the attack and took Sunny with them. When Hero finds out that Mari has died, he becomes depressed, though doesn’t blame himself. Soon, he joins a rebellion/army against the fire nation, and sends letters every week. Their parents are expecting a child when this story is set.
- Some time later, like 4 years later, Sunny is focused on helping the family out or getting money whenever he can. He wants to repay them. One day, he is requested to pick up some water at the local source.
- At a nearby lake, he finds a girl who is a water bender.
- Her name is Cris, and she is traveling around and practicing her skills.
- Now, the prompt mentions that Sunny might be a fire bender, and Cris and him have a forbidden love? But I don’t have any reason for Sunny being a fire bender. However, I do actually think a forbidden love story would have been interesting. For now though, I’m writing him as a regular villager with fire nation boots because . . . Lore reason (Just go with it, okay?).
Yeah, it’s incoherent and short, but I’m sure that someone can make something out of it.

He suddenly stops at the sight of the blue haired woman, his mouth agape in surprise. Her moments are strange, and the way the water floats is even stranger. He feels the bowl slipping from his, so he clutches harder than he has. His mind thinks of the other possibilities, but only one remains.
“Water bender . . .” His mouth speaks without thinking, and the water suddenly drops as the woman stops and perks up. She turns to him, wide eyed, and he does the same.
“Oh, um, hello. I didn’t expect someone to be here.” She says, clearly uncertain with what to say, “I . . . I can leave right away. Please don’t report me.”
She looks ready to run, even though her feet haven’t moved. Despite this, the man stops her, “Wait!” He does not know what he is doing. “You’re . . . Not going to hurt anyone?”
“No, I will not unless necessary.” Her answer is certain, with slight tones of something that happened in the past. The man recognises it, but does not ask.
Instead, he questions, “What are you doing?” He knows what she is doing, but his mind has not processed it yet.
“I’m water bending.” The woman clarifies, appearing more relaxed. She gives a quick glance, “I’m practicing to be better at it.”
“I see . . .” The man nods, then his mind gets an idea, that makes him blurt out, “Could you bend the water into this bowl?” He felt stupid for it, and he quickly says, “Ah, sorry, you’re probably-”
“Well, it would be good practice.” The woman interrupts, or perhaps did not notice the other’s apology. She suddenly lifts her hands, and some water rises up. It shifts and bobs as it makes its way towards the man.
The man has no idea if he should move closer, and in his indecisiveness, he remains still. The water travels unnaturally in the air, and eventually, it reaches the bowl and fills it up. The woman brings back any unnecessary droplets back to the main source.
“T-Thanks.” The man says, staring down at the reflection of the water. He suddenly perks up, remembering something. “By the way, my name is Sunny.”
“Sunny . . .” The woman says, then smiles, “My name is Cris. It’s nice to meet you.” There is a long pause, the two of them stand, staring at each other. Soon, Cris chimes up, “I’m guessing you’re not going to tell anyone about me.”
“No. I promise.” Sunny shakes his head, “In fact . . . We could meet again.” Cris gives him a surprised look, and Sunny turns his head away, “Only if you want to.”
He wonders why he says anything sometimes, and thinks about not talking for the rest of his life. “Sure.” However, he gets an answer that makes him turn his head back. Yet, there is a look on her that suggests something more.
“I’m . . . I’m not forcing you.” Sunny says to her, about to add more, but she shakes her head.
“I know, but I want to train my water bending . . . And travel.” Cris tells him, her olive green eyes appearing more prominent. “I won’t be staying here for long . . . Maybe a week.”
“A week . . .” Sunny repeats, and Cris nods in confirmation. “Okay, well, still . . . I’ll see you tomorrow, Cris.”
“See you too, Sunny.” Cris gives him a smile and a wave, and Sunny simply nods and turns around. He heads back the path he came, hearing the sloshing of water in his bowl.
He soon makes it out of the forest and back on the path of the town. He gives one last look behind him, though from this angle, he could not see Cris or the pond. He sighs, faces forward, and heads towards town.
As he approaches, he notices a familiar figure in the distance. The figure spots him and raises an arm to wave. The figure shouts, “Sunny!”
Sunny picks up the pace, careful of the water. He approaches the figure, and soon reaches the town, “What is it Kel?”
“Well, you took longer than usual.” Kel says with concern, and gives a shrug, “I hope there wasn’t trouble.”
“No, not at all.” Sunny tells Kel, who gives a smile. Sunny lifts the bowl up, “Come on, let’s bring this to your parents.”
“You know, you could call them mom and dad if you want to, bro.” Kel puts an arm around Sunny as the two head through town.
Sunny does not answer, not feeling comfortable with the idea. Of course, calling Kel brother feels more like a secondary thing to him, even if he does not do it all the time.
Still, he wonders if he will meet Cris again. Not only that, but ponders if he should. After all, he has a debt to pay to the ones who took him in after . . .
He shakes his head and keeps walking.

Prompt 2:
Okay, so I’m making this part more recently, and I want to expand on it a bit.
- Sunny and Cris meet up at roughly the same-ish time. Even though Sunny feels guilty and thinks what he is doing is guilty, he always does more for Kel’s family.
- In their meetings, Cris talks about home, Sunny brings food, the two talk about certain events, and they start to bond.
- Soon, Cris has to leave, and they both share something they can remember each other by. However, at that moment, the fire nation attacks.
- Together, the two of them, alongside other people, fight against the fire nation’s attack against the town.
- Oh, and of course, Sunfish ensues :)
Optional:
- Hero comes back and he has certainly changed, but he tries to keep a smile. However, certain things give him PTSD.
- Sally is born.
- During their battle against the fire nation, Sunny finds out he is a fire bender.
- Even more optional: Benders aren’t trusted in the town. Even though the town is thankful, both Cris and Sunny can tell they aren’t exactly welcomed. Ultimately, they don’t want anyone to get hurt nor cause stress for Kel’s family, so they give their goodbyes, and start to travel.
Notes:
While it would be interesting to write, I am not a good world builder, and I am unsure where this would go.
Anyways, as I said, I had this prompt for a while, though I'm unsure why I have been thinking about it recently.
Chapter 24: The Invitation (Special)
Summary:
Cris and Sunny are invited to a mansion, and meet some familiar beings.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
A long stretch of purple carpet that branches and connects to several doors greets them. Two large chandeliers, one painted black while the other is blue, hang from the ceiling. Cris glances to the floor beside her and sees a piece of paper with red pools splattered about, as well as a rotting cat and the bones of the fish, which are both moving. Meanwhile, Sunny’s eyes dart upwards to see two ghosts, a white and a blue one.
“This mansion. It’s much larger than ours.” Cris comments, holding Sunny’s hand as they start to walk down the purple carpet path. “I wonder who lives here.”
“No idea. The scent is unfamiliar.” Sunny sniffs with his nose and shakes his head, “I can’t even smell life or blood.”
“Really? That is interesting.” Cris gives a glance at the paper and blood, then faces forward. She notices the undead cat and the bonefish making their way to a nearby door. “Should we follow that?”
“Hehe, are you nervous?” Suddenly, the blue ghost darts in front of them, grinning widely, “If you don’t like the place, we can keep it.” The white ghost gently floats beside the blue one.
“Are you saying you don’t own it?” Sunny enquiries, and the ghosts shake their . . . Heads? Bodies? Ah, whatever. “I see. And what are your names?”
“Us? We lost our names long ago. It happens when you die, at least for us.” The blue ghost says, with the white ghost nodding. “Anyways, we’ve got a place to haunt. So don’t stop us.” The two ghosts float away, wandering right through a wall. Both Cris and Sunny watch them disappear before turning to one another.
“So, what should we do?” Cris asks Sunny, who appears to ponder for a moment, then pulls out the letter they received, “Ah, this could give us directions.”
“It does. The first door to the left when we are entering.” Sunny scans the letter, “It also says that there may be more than what meets the eye.” Sunny puts the letter away, and turns to the door, “Not sure what that means.”
Cris hums at that, and with their hand in hand, they make their way to the door that the letter told them to go to. When they enter the room, a large round table sits in the center of the room surrounded by chairs. The undead cat and the fish bones sit on the table, appearing to comfort one another. Cris and Sunny sit at the table, seeing nothing else in the room.
“I still wonder who invited us.” Cris chimes up, taking a better look at the undead cat and the bone fish. “I’m getting a strange and familiar feeling . . . Mari?”
“No, not Mari. I would have been able to get her scent already.” Sunny shakes his head, and spots the ghosts floating through the wall.
“Ah, we got a little lost. Not to worry, we will find our way around.” The blue ghosts says, floating high above them, “Still, there isn’t anything above! Only a dusty attic.”
Before anyone could say anything, the sound of lightning crashes from outside. The undead cat jumps in surprise, and once landed, the bonefish appears to comfort the cat by using its head to caress the fur.
“Oooh, fear.” The blue ghost says, then receives a look from the white ghost, “Ah, sorry, it’s hard to resist. And besides, you also love the feeling of other people’s fear.” The white ghost does not respond for a moment, then the blue ghost gasps, “Oooh, there are others entering.”
“I didn’t hear anyone entering.” Sunny glances at Cris, who nods in confirmation. However, when they turn to the door, they see two figures wearing long robes covering the majority of their bodies. Their hoods are up and are creating a shadow that is impossible to see through, even for Sunny and Cris. “Who are you?”
“We are the ones who invited you.” One of the robed figures speaks, the voice sounding male and familiar, “There were others who we invited, but it seems they will arrive later.”
“As for why we invited you.” The other roped figure said, sounding feminine and also familiar, “We have a goal of recruiting . . . People like you, or at least make a note of your story.” The cloaked figures gather at two nearby seats, “So, how did you two meet?”
Sunny stares intensely at the figures, feeling slightly worried, but not threatened. It is a strange feeling, one that he is not too sure about. He glances to Cris and whispers in her ear, “I can’t get their scent, and they don’t seem threatening. However . . . People like us? What does that mean?” Cris seems to think for a moment, then shrugs.
“I think we should tell them how we met. It’s strange, but it seems harmless.” Cris replies as Sunny takes a moment before nodding. Cris looks to the cloaked figures and begins, “Okay, a long time ago, I lived in Faraway. It was a peaceful town, however, in the forest was a mansion with a dangerous vampire.”
“Every night, the people would hide in their houses, scared that the vampire would attack them.” Cris continues, “And for a while, I was afraid too, but then I wondered if there actually was a vampire. So, I requested my mom to bake me a steak and garlic pie. Garlic, because it was rumored to be effective against vampires, and steak was just to make my mom not suspicious.”
“That night, I ventured out of the house, and went to the location of the mansion. When I entered, nothing happened at first, but the more I ventured, the more seemed off, like how there was no dust, the floor was clean, and the bed was a coffin.” Cris chuckles, “I guess I should have seen the signs, but the next thing I knew, I was bitten by Sunny.”
“Y-Yeah . . .” Sunny looks away with guilt and embarrassment, but Cris assures him with a pat on his arm.
“Hey, don’t worry. Honestly, I should have known that garlic attracts vampires.. Besides, I wouldn’t have met you.” Cris gives Sunny a smile, “Plus, my family still get in contact with me. I honestly thought they would have put a stake through my heart, but nope! And after that, the rest is history.” Cris shrugs, then adds on, “Oh, also, putting a spikey piece of wood in someone’s heart would definitely kill them.”
“I see.” The robed male simply says, sounding unsurprised. He then turns to the ghosts, “And what about you two?”
“Us? Oooh, our deaths were most shocking! Most frightening of all time!” The blue ghosts build suspense, “We died of old age together.” Everyone, including the bone fish and undead cat, looks at the ghost, “Yep! And together, we haunt the lands, no longer remembering our names.”
“If that is the case, what do you call each other? You know, if you ever get separated, or need attention.” The robed female questions.
“Huh? Why would we ever get separated? Plus, we have been giving each other attention for a very long time.” The blue ghost answers, then glances at the white ghost, “Though, if I ever needed him . . . Moon?” The white ghost appears still for a moment, then bobs up and down. “Right, I’ll call you Moon. You can call me . . . Blue.”
“You’re deciding this right now?” The robed male enquiries, and Blue bobs up and down. “Alright then.” He then turns to the undead cat and bone fish, “What about you two?” The undead cat just meows, while the bone fish’s bones rattle on the table. “That’s very tragic. I am glad you found comfort in each other.”
“You understood?” Sunny frowns, then shakes his head, “You know what, I’m not going to think about it too hard.”
“Right, now then. For our main reason for inviting you here.” The robed female speaks up, “As we said, we are recruiting people like you. However, it’s not for the way you think.” She then clarifies, “Right now, our goal is to recruit people who are like Sunny and Cris, and bring them together. It was our leaders’, there's two of them, request, and while we don’t know their ultimate goal, they have provided us with an excellent place for us to exist in peace, harmony, and happiness. Of course, if you do not want to join, then we will not force you.”
“A place of peace? Sorry, but me and Moon are spooky ghosts.” Blue tells them, earning a nod from Moon, “We don’t really want to live in a peaceful place, so I suppose we could just leave.”
“Very well. You may leave.” The robed male nods, and the ghosts float away through a wall. He then turns to the undead cat and bone fish. “And you two?” The cat meows and the bone fish's bones rattle, and the robed male nods, “Really? That sounds amazing. Well, you can go back to your family now.” The cat and the fish leap off the table and leave the room. “Now, you two.”
“Well, our mansion is safe, and ever since Cris came, no one has attacked us.” Sunny glances at Cris, who nods in agreement. He then perks up at something, “Wait, recruit people like Sunny and Cris? W-What-”
“It is complicated.” Both the robed figures reply, “You can either join the Sunfish Cult, live in a society of Cris and Sunny, and recruit more, or live your life.”
Both Cris and Sunny stand up from their chairs, “C-Cult?! Sorry, but we’re not interested.” The two of them quickly leave the room, and head straight for the door, which was thankfully unlocked. Both the robed figures watch them leave, then turn to each other.
“I suppose it does sound creepy.” The robed male sighs and shakes his head, “Regardless, we have a report to make.”
“Indeed. Oh, and find another world to go to. And maybe return to the old plan, or make a new one.” The robed female says, and the other nods. The two stand up, hold each other’s hands, and make their way out of the room.
The mansion eventually sits with no one inside.
Notes:
A bit of a sudden ending I know, but I wasn't sure where I would take this.
Also lore drop I guess.
Chapter 25: Sun's Seer and Samurai Mermaid (Story)
Summary:
During a seemingly slow day, the Sun's Seer and the Samurai Mermaid decide to eat sushi at a restruant.
Two cloaked figures enter, and ask a strange question
Notes:
I am very dumb
Also, don't think about the implications of a mermaid eating fish . . . (:
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Why hello there! I’m guessing it’s the regular.” Henry, the chef hero, greets with a smile that emits sparkles.
“Yeah. Plus, it might be a slow day.” Cris, the samurai mermaid, slithers onto a chair, “Then again, we have heard two strange figures roaming around.”
“If they are there, they are hiding in the shadows.” Sunny, the Sun’s Seer, sits on the chair next to her, “We will make sure this place is protected.”
“You make it sound like I can’t defend myself.” Henry says, and to prove himself, he presents the fish, kelp, and rice, and in a flash, he chops, rolls, and serves the sushi.
“We know, however, this is a peaceful town. There should be no need for fighting.” Sunny pauses for a moment, then starts to eat sushi.
“Still, until we can find a way to stop all monsters, or put up an actual protective barrier, it’s going to be like that for a while.” Henry wipes the counter and adds on, “Don’t worry though, I believe you can do it!”
“Thanks. Oh, and thanks for the food.” Cris replies, and picks up a piece of sushi, “Say, have you heard any rumours?”
Henry hums at that, but before he could answer, the doors of his restaurant open, and he puts on a smile. “Why hello there! How may I . . . Serve you . . .” Him trailing off was noticed by both Cris and Sunny, who then turned.
Two cloaked figures strolled towards the counter, muttering to themselves, their faces covered in darkness. They both sit at the end of the counter, a couple seats away from Cris.
“Uh, hey, if you’re ordering, you’re going to have to speak up.” Henry says as politely as he could. He then provides them with a menu, “The special today is spicy chicken wrapped up in flat bread.”
The two cloaked figures stop talking to one another, and they both turn to Henry. There is an anxious silence for a moment, before one of the cloaked figures speaks up.
“What do you think would be the goal of someone who wants to make a particular group of people happy?” The cloaked figure, sounding feminine, questions.
“Are you sure . . .? We only just got here.” The other cloaked figure, sounding manly, turns to the feminine cloaked figure, and he receives a nod.
“Well, uh, that depends on how they are making people happy.” Henry replies, glancing over to Cris and Sunny, “Like, Sunny and Cris are making us happy by protecting us.”
“Aw, thank you.” Cris responds cheerly, and the cloaked figures look over to her. Despite their faces being hidden, she did not sense any malice or judging. Cris adds on, “Also, couldn’t help but overhear. To answer, I feel like you need to find out if it’s genuine. And if it is, sometimes, the goal is just to make this group of people happy.”
“But if it’s not, then you should tread lightly. Find a way into the sun.” Sunny tells them slightly ominously. “Now, who are you two?”
The two cloaked figures stay silent on that, and the male cloaked figure answers, “We are . . . Related in a universal way, and you would fit right in . . . But this place is structured.”
Both leave their seats, and start muttering to each other once again. “W-What does that mean?” Henry enquiries, but he receives no answer as the two exit therestruant. He gives a sigh, then turns to Cris and Sunny, “Well, they were odd. It’s strange though, something about them felt . . .” Henry furrows his eyebrows, then shakes his head, “Ah, I’m sure it’s just me.”
“Right, well, thanks for the meal, Henry.” Cris says, and both her and Sunny bow. Cris then leaves her chair, and at that moment, the sound of a bell could be heard ringing. “Oh no, a monster! We must hurry.”
“Indeed. In fact, the sun senses corruption. I can’t get a good reading otherwise.” Sunny follows Cris out of the restaurant, though before that, Sunny tells Hero, “Put it on our tab, we will pay it once we’re back.”
“Ah, don’t worry, you’re protecting the town- And they are gone.” Hero watches them leave, and shakes his head, “Those two.”
The two of them charge out and head for the arch. Cris takes the blade hanging from the back, while Sunny summons his sun staff. The two stand in front of the arch, preparing for the worst.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
To be continued.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
“W-What?! To be continued! That did not seem that much!”
“I think there was supposed to be more, but because of the circumstances, it had to be cut short.”
“Was it because of them? If so, then I swear-”
“No, no . . . Well . . . Actually, I don’t know.”
“Sigh . . . Well, at least there is plenty of other material like this.”
“You really enjoy this. Not that I’m complaining, I love seeing you enjoy yourself and spending time with you.”
“Real smooth.”
“You’re blushing.”
“Sh-Shush! . . . I mean, let’s just read, uh . . . This one!”
And the two spent the rest of their date reading more, while another two fought while dating . . . Love is weird.
Notes:
Sorry if it seems similar and also a little shorter. I had a bit of an issue when it came to accessing the pixel art and writing stuff.
Anyways, I shall now attempt to cook!
Chapter 26: Song of The Sea (Idea/prompt)
Summary:
When Sunny was young, he asks his dear sister if mermaids are real.
Years later, he meets one singing the song of the sea.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
“Mari?” A young and bright eyed Sunny says to his sister, “Are mermaids real?” He receives an odd look from Mari. Not one of awe at Sunny’s imagination or his childlike curiosity, but it was a look of nostalgia, something that he learns later.
“Why yes, mermaids exist somewhere in the vast ocean.” Mari smiles softly, one that shows reassurance as she adds on, “Their voices can allure you, and they mean no harm, even to those that hunt them.” A brief flash of sadness crosses Mari’s eyes, but the young Sunny does not ask about it.
Instead, he inquires, “What is this song?” Mari appears uncertain at first, then suddenly remembers something.
“There was a book that I read that said the song is one that humans cannot recreate whatsoever.” Mari answers, “This book also says that, in a way, it’s a song owned by the mermaids, or perhaps the sea, or perhaps both.”
Sunny continues with his questions with interest, “Will I ever meet a mermaid?” His eyes widen a bit and Mari ponders for a moment.
“Going out there . . . I mean, you can, but you need to be brave.” Mari pauses for a moment, then puts her hand on her brother’s hair, “But I know you have that. You just need to grow a little first.” She gives a small chuckle.
“Wow . . .” Sunny’s eyes show his amazement, “Don’t worry, I promise to find a mermaid when I’m older!”
At the time, it may have seemed like a childish dream from the outside, but Sunny kept his determination to find a mermaid for . . . Well . . .

Years later
— — — — — — — — — — — —
An older, nearly adult Sunny stands at the dock, staring up at the ship that looms above even an average home. The smell of the salted seas greats his nose rather than assaults it, and he takes a deep breath.
“Are you sure you want to go alone?” Basil, his best friend, enquires, “I’m not much of a sea person, but I know that Kel would have dropped his training to accompany you.”
Sunny glances at Basil, then shakes his head, “I know, however, I don’t want to burden him.” Basil is about to argue, however, Sunny continues, “Plus, if Kel is coming, it’s likely he will bring Hero too, which in turn could bring Aubrey, leaving you alone.”
“T-That’s . . .” Basil laughs but could not deny Sunny, “Well, ultimately, it’s your choice.” After a moment, Basil looks at the sky, “Just promise you’ll be okay . . .”
“I will. I promise.” Sunny stares into Basil’s bright blue eyes, then he turns and starts to climb on, “I’ll be back in a week.”
“A week? In that boat?!” Basil is baffled, and looks at the water with intimidation, “I mean, just . . . Just get back, okay?”
Sunny gives a nod as he soon reaches the top of the boat. He takes one last look at the town, and has a slight pang of guilt hit him in the heart.
“See you later, Mari.” Sunny starts to prepare his journey.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
Time flies by, and it has been more than a week. Sunny stands firm at the wheel, even with the grey clouds hanging above him. The waters around the ship seem to be getting quicker and quicker, yet Sunny is afraid.
Still, he takes a deep breath, feeling the cold air fill his lungs. He pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket, about to write on it, however, the wind suddenly catches it and pulls it out of his hand. He watches it drift into the sea, and he sighs.
“Well, now my friends won’t know that I’m still alive.” Sunny turns back to the wheel, though before he starts to steer, a snowflake drops in front of him, “And soon they will be worried about me.” He grips the wheel to steady the ship.
After a few minutes, the snow starts falling down, and the water is pushing harshly at his boat. His skin is both cold and hot, and he starts struggling with the wheel.
Just when he was about to rethink his life, he sees something strange in the distance. At first, it looked like a rock with something blue and pink on it. His mind races at what sort of material he could have encountered.
However, he steers the wheel and turns the boat away from the rock, and as he gets closer. He gets a better look, and . . .
He hears a song, one that was unfamiliar and inhuman, yet beautiful and somehow nostalgic. His body feels lighter as he takes his hands off the wheel and steps to the side of his boat. What he sees is something immaculate with a form that makes him remember the word to describe the being he is seeing:
A mermaid.
Its song resonates into something new and something old at the same time, its voice indescribable, or at least there are no words that exist to do so, and its flowing blue hair shining brightly despite the sea and the snow.
Then, all of a sudden, the mermaid stops its singing, and opens its eyes, making Sunny realise that it has had its eyes closed the entire time. Regardless, the mermaid’s olive green eyes drift towards the ship, then its head tilts upwards.
Even with the harsh flowing waters and the falling snow, he felt peace looking into its- No, her eyes. Only for a moment did he feel truly alone with the mermaid, like the world stopped just for them for a moment.
Whatever that meant, Sunny had no idea, and he has no time to think as the boat scrapes by the rock and starts to sink.
— — — — — — — — — — — —
The mermaid swims like her life depends on it, although she supposes it was the life of the human, Regardless, even with the water pushing against her, her speed is like a torpedo. As she crosses the ocean, her mind wonders about the human and who he was.
Her mind could not figure it out and eventually, she spots land ahead. Slowing down, she stays slightly under so that she is hidden, though once she gets closer to the beach, she emerges from the water and sees that there isn't a human in sight.
Swimming up to the beach, the mermaid places the human on the sand and she backs away while staring at him.
“Who are you?” She finds herself saying, and blinks rapidly, “Why am I . . . What is . . .” She shakes her head and quickly turns and swims away, feeling a strange pang in her heart.
Suddenly, she feels something stare at her, and she looks down to see a familiar cecaelia. Swimming downwards, the cecaelia smiles at her.
“Greetings Cris . . . Seeing you around here is odd . . . And that human . . .” Abbi speaks slowly, glancing in the general direction of where Cris put the human.
“What do you want? What are you going to do?” Cris asks, knowing that Abbi may strike some sort of deal. “You better not hurt him.”
“Never.” Abbi says with certainty, which surprises Cris, “No . . . Instead . . . Are you curious about him . . .?” And here it comes.
“I . . . I suppose I am.” Cris hesitantly answers, “But I could . . . I mean . . .” She tries to think of someway out, but her mind is unable to come up with anything.
“I could give you a human body.” Abbi speaks seriously, and Cris perks up at that.
“W-What? Why?” Cris inquires, then quickly asks, “What do you want?”
“The song of the sea . . .” Abbi replies, looking down at Cris’ tail, “I suppose if I am turning you human . . . Also your tail and ability to breathe underwater . . .” Abbi then adds in assurance, “Do not worry . . . I will make sure that you are safe after the process . . .”
“But . . . But why?” Cris frowns, wondering if Abbi has some sort of trick. However, Abbi appears sad rather than evil.
“I suppose you could relay a message . . . To the human you saved . . .” Abbi once again glances at the direction where Cris left the human, “Tell him hi . . . From his best friend . . .” Cris is curious about Abbi’s connections, but before she could ask, Abbi offers, “So . . . What will it be . . .?”
Cris ponders for a moment, gazing deeply into Abbi, and thinking it over: Cris’ parents are dead, she has no power over people, and the only bad thing seems to be her loss of the song and the ability to swim freely in the ocean.
That’s . . . It?
“Deal.”
“Then . . . Let me begin . . .”
Cris was afraid, but she put her trust in Abbi.
Meanwhile, Sunny wakes up in confusion, feeling the soft sand beneath him, and is greeted by his worried friends and the falling snow.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Prompt (Well, more like expanding upon the idea):
Potential Mari is dead?
An idea I had: Sunny stands at Mari’s grave with Cris slightly behind him. He stares down at the grave with grief, “Well, I did it Mari . . . I found a mermaid.”
Originally, this was some kind of Little Mermaid prompt, but Abbi is in no way malicious and Cris is not the princess of the ocean.
I’m setting this some time in the past, like 1700s, or 1800s, or something along those lines.
Sunny appreciates his friends and helps him out whenever he can, but he feels that he is a burden due to how perfect Mari is in his eyes.
Kel is in military training, and while Hero just finished his four year training. While he could be potentially drafted at any moment, war is not an issue.
Aubrey is closer to Hero due to a past experience involving her parents. She looks up to Hero as a big brother, but she hasn’t said anything about it yet.
IDK if the Hooligans exist. Maybe they are ‘Pirates’. Putting this in quotations as they don’t know what to do other than sail and steal from a local shop with a familiar smiley lady.
And, oh yeah, Sunfish. Don’t forget. (:

Chapter Text
A man with a tunic slightly bigger than him, dirty trousers, and boots fit for the sand, steps up to the guards, “Did she come through here?” The guards nod at him, and he requests, “Please, let me see her. I would like to speak to her.” The guards open the gate a bit, and the man steps out of the town.
Almost immediately, he spots the woman staring at the sunrise, and he approaches her. When he is close, he steps to her side, and gazes at her, seeing her olive green eyes staring at something, though when the man glances at where she is looking, he could not see anything.
“Hey.” The man says calmly, offering his hand. The woman perks up a little and her eyes turn to him. Her expression turns into realisation that he is here, and he asks, “Do you want to talk about it?” After a long pause, the man offers his hand, “Here.”
And, the woman takes it.
“Did you sense it?” The woman inquired, “The land breathed a sigh of relief. Even while I’m restricted, I can tell it has to do with my brothers.” She calls them her brothers due to her bond.
“I do feel lighter.” The man felt this way when he woke up, and when attempting to think it was just a good night’s rest, he did not find it to be correct. “And if you say it has to do with your brothers, then I trust you.” He gives the woman’s hand a sequence, and after a moment, he asks, “So, what does this mean?”
“I believe there is peace. Maybe not how it was before the world fell, and there will certainly still be bad people, but not to the extent to how it was during this time.” The woman answers, she senses that the man accepts this as well. The woman continues with a question, “I think a better thing to ask would be: What next?”
“And that is why you are out here?”
“Correct.”
And the man joins her, staring at the rising sun, but not directly. It’s heat providing the warmth of life, while the man and the woman provide the warmth of love to one another.
“Cris.” “Sunny.” They both say.
“Will you marry me?”
The sun fully appears, indicating a new tomorrow.

[The First]
The S&S universe was the earliest form of the two we could find. Its world was simple, but provided a good foundation with how everything would progress. However, the two did not create the cult, nor have they joined. Plus, it is likely there are more of the two before the S&S universe, yet the scanners have been unable to reach that far.
The creators of the cult, the ones writing this, are the robed Sunny and Cris. There were four of us, two in brown cloaks, and two in blue cloaks with golden edges. After a long discussion, the blue cloaks were deemed the leaders, while the brown cloaks started the mission.
The mission is to find Sunny and Cris in a universe where they can be or are together, confirm they are indeed a two, and recruit them. At the very least, bring them to a protective home.
So far:
Successful recruits: 24%
Successful homed universes: 48%
Unsuccessful: 28%
More information can be found at displaying and searching for universes.
The main goal:
While finding The First would be interesting, it is not the main goal.
Instead, first, about the find new universe option:
The Find new universe option usually gets a universe that the leader of the cult creates, which is not saying that the two are forced, however, it does keep the cult active.
The goal is to find all universes that the leader has not created, and the two are indeed guaranteed or are together. While some universes have been found, getting into contact is difficult at best, and recruiting has been so far unsuccessful.
Ultimately, the sunfish cult must carry on regardless of this, and searching for new universe continues, even if they are a little influenced by bias.
Press esc to go back.
The two shut off the computer, and leave the room. With their hands held, they go to confront the leader of the sunfish cult.
Notes:
I'm actually going to stop updating Sunfish cult for a while.
Don't worry, I still have a couple of ideas, so I will come back, but I want to focus on a project that I'm writing and also univeristy.
Anyways, I wish you the best, old sport!

Told you I'd be back.
Guess who finished their project.

Chapter Text
The sun shines down upon her, the clouds loom in the distance, the seagulls cry out, the waves crash into the sand, and she sits alone on the bench.
Despite such a nice day, a chill lingers in the air. There are not many people on the beach, and those who are there are far away from her. Yet, even if there were many people on the beach, she would still be sitting alone on the bench.
There is not much she needs or wants to do today. She has finished her chores, she has no games to play, her mother is at work, and she is not hungry. So, she decides to spend her time sitting alone on the bench.
She doesn’t really want to think either, but her mind does wonder. Sometimes it’s about her friends she hasn’t seen in a long time, sometimes it’s about her sister who has long since passed on, and sometimes it’s about nothing in particular. Today, she thinks about how alone she feels sitting on the bench.
Then again, she supposes that is fine. After all, she is outside, catching the sun and getting healthier. At least she believes she is, she never really understood it though. Still, she has been getting plenty to eat after the doctor told her mom about the malnourishment. Soon, she might look like an ordinary person, except . . .
Her eye. The scar that lingers. It makes her feel down. She doesn’t want to feel that way, after all, her friend’s life was saved, so she doesn’t have any regrets. It just . . . With her glass eye, she feels the weight of it, and it just reminds her that she isn’t like the others. She is alone on the bench, and her eye is missing.
Still, that isn’t the only thing reminding her that she is alone, but it is one of the major ones. Regardless, she gazes to the ocean, letting herself relax on the bench as she sits alone-
“Sunny?” She perks up at the familiar voice, then turns to the source. She immediately notices the blue hair, and for a strange moment, she feels her heart flutter. “Ah, Sunny, I thought I recognised you.” It is Cris. “How have you been?”
Sunny ponders for a moment, before ultimately nodding her head, “I am good. You?” She hasn’t used her voice a lot, but with practice, it sounds soft and not croaky or deadpan.
“I’ve been swell!” Cris gives a smile, and Sunny feels her ears burning. Cris turns her head towards the ocean, “I will say that I am quite excited to be at the beach. It has been so long . . .” Cris takes a deep breath. “You know, you could come join me in the water.”
Cris points her thumb, and Sunny, not wanting to be rude or alone for just a moment, nods her head. “Great!” Cris takes her shoes and socks off, placing them near the bench. She runs off to the water, pulling her trousers off. Sunny follows suite with slight heistance, still not completely over her fears of the water.
Still, she places her socks and shoes next to Cris’ and walks towards the water, feeling the soft sand beneath her feet. As she approaches, Cris stomps into the water, giggling to herself, “Me and my friends back in boarding school used to do this in boarding school.”
Sunny couldn’t help but feel something rise within. She guesses it is confidence because without thinking, she pulls up her trousers and steps into the water. Her heart quickens as her ankles disappear beneath the water.
“Say Sunny, do you know how to dance?” Cris suddenly asks, and Sunny shakes her head. Cris hums, “Well, how about I teach you?”
“A-Are you sure, Cris?” Sunny asks in surprise, and Cris nods confidently, holding out her hands. Sunny stares down for a moment, and after calming down, she puts her hands near Cris’, feeling the heat rise.
“I will say I’m not a good dancer. I really just just know how to move back and forth.” Cris admits and Sunny blinks at her. “Anyways, follow my lead.”
“Forward, back.” Cris instructs as Sunny stares down. “Back, then forward. Repeat.” Sunny takes a moment to let it sink in, but soon she finds herself flowing naturally.
Then, she looks up and sees Cris’ olive green eyes gazing down at her, smiling with joy. Sunny feels a tug at her lips as she stares back at Cris.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — —
“Let’s get some ice cream.”
And they did. Sunny with lemon and Cris with strawberry. “I’m quite surprised you like lemon. Learn something everyday I suppose.” They sit on the bench with their socks and shoes back on their feet.
“I don’t mind it.” Sunny gives a shrug, “I’m not sure what my favourite is . . .” Sunny ponders for a moment, then shrugs again. “I’ve heard of pistachio. Maybe I should try that.”
“I think that’s like nuts or something like that?” Cris hums, then says, “Anyways, I want to admit, blueberry is my favourite, but it’s hard to find.”
Sunny does not respond, instead simply nods her head, continuing to consume the ice cream. The sun is descending down, creating a gorgeous shine across the waters.
Suddenly, Cris chimes up, “I, uh, sorry if I’m intruding or something, but I thought I saw a scar near your eye.” Sunny perks up, surprised that she forgot about that. She turns to Cris, who awkwardly looks away, “Sorry if bringing that up makes you uncomfortable.”
“It isn’t.” Sunny assures her, “It’s . . . Something happened. I don’t want to talk about it, but I’m getting used to the glass eye.”
“Glass eye huh . . .” Cris hums for a second, then gets an idea, “You know, you could have an eye patch. Like a pirate!” Cris chuckles, “And I could be your mermaid.”
Huh? “Huh?” Sunny is unsure why that sounds familiar.
“Oh, uh, nothing, just uh . . . Forget I said anything.” Cris waves her hand, “And, em, sorry if that sounded forceful.”
“No, it’s okay.” Sunny reassures her, still thinking of what Cris said. “Also, did you suggest that for, like, Halloween?”
“Y-Yeah, sure!” Cris gives a nod, “I mean, I do want to visit you again, and it doesn’t have to be Hallowwen . . .” Cris rapidly shakes her head, “You know what I mean.”
Sunny is unsure if she does, but she gives Cris a nod, “Right . . .” Then she remembers something, “Oh yeah, thanks for the necklace.”
“Ah, you’re welcome.” Cris gives a smile, returning back to her normal self, “Oh, and since I want to visit you again, you should tell me where you live. Only if you want to, of course.”
“Sure. I’ll show you later.” Sunny tells Cris, who nods.
The conversation ends and they continue to eat their slightly melted ice cream in silence whilst sitting alone together on the bench.
Notes:
Happy Pride month
Also, Cris' face weirdly scares me.
Chapter 29: Terraria (Crossover)
Summary:
Chopping wood, killing slims, seeing someone shooting a bow at slimes, and crafting torches. The day is good, yet it can’t last forever.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
The tree does not fall, nor does it float. Instead, it all breaks apart into chunks of wood. The man who chopped it looks up as all the pieces of wood fall towards him, yet, instead of crushing him, the wood is absorbed into him. In the back of his mind, he senses that the wood is entering his inventory and he can use it.
Not right now. Instead, he turns his head to the woman who does the same as him, visibly curious, even having a question mark in a text bubble appear near her head. She turns her head to him, and they make eye contact.
Sunny gazes at Cris, and Cris gazes at Sunny.
Suddenly, their impromptu staring contest is interrupted by a slime jumping on by. It makes its way towards them, and suddenly, they feel in danger. So, accessing their inventory, they pull out their short swords.
They swing, or more so poke, towards the slime, approaching carefully as it leaps again. Cris manages to deal the first blow, and in turn, the slime bounces back and sours above Cris’ head, landing just a few feet in front of Sunny.
Sunny stabs it, bouncing it towards Cris, who pokes it back. They have a quick game of unscripted tennis before defeating the slime. It drops gel, which gathers in Cris’ inventory.
A speech bubble with a thumbs up in it appears above Cris’ head, and Sunny has the same. They then hear something and turn to see a man firing a bow at a slime. They don’t know who this man is, but he seems to be helping them. He’s probably called Andrew or something.
Regardless, Cris and Sunny continue with the day. Chopping wood, killing slims, seeing someone shooting a bow at slimes, and crafting torches. The day is good, yet it can’t last forever.
As they start to place down blocks, the sun starts to set down on them. They look at the sky in confusion, seeing how dark it is getting and giving each other a worried expression. They manage to build a box for a house along with a door as it turns to night.
Suddenly, an eyeball swoops down on them. Something about it is demonic, and they manage to dodge out of the way. They hear a groan and spot a couple of zombies marching towards them. Sunny pulls out his short sword, but Cris shakes her head and gestures to follow as she runs.
Sunny trails behind her, looking behind him and seeing the demon eye swoop down on them again. He swipes it away before it touches him, and he looks forward to see Cris holding up a touch and heading towards a cave. While the cave could be dangerous, it is the only option as the hoards of zombies and demon eyes grow.
They soon reach the cave and descend past it, brushing past the vines that have made their way there. Sunny pulls out his own torch, hearing the groans getting quieter as they get deeper into the cave.
Their footsteps start to echo as they make their way to stone level, which Cris mines at as Sunny holds the torch, looking around for danger. He then spots something in the deep dark, and points at it once Cris turns to him. When Cris also notices, she pulls out her torch, and together, they make their way towards the thing that Sunny saw.
They stroll by some sand, which Sunny picks up a couple pieces of, but pass the rest of it and walks up to the mysterious object. It turns out to be a door surrounded by wood and stone. Cris and Sunny glance at each other before opening the door and looking inside.
It appears to be a house similar to theirs, however, it appears to be run down. Cobwebs covering the place and there are a couple of holes. The only signs of something once living here is a workbench, a loom, a sawmill, a painting of a tree, and a chest.
Sunny starts taking the cobweb while Cris stares curiously at the workbench, thinking of crafting something. She ultimately creates a furnace and keeps it in her inventory for now and then collects the painting.
Once they are done with their collection, Sunny proceeds to the loom and starts crafting cloth, meanwhile Cris checks out the chest and brings out a flare gun as well as flares, some torches, healing potions, and recall potions. She then turns to Sunny, who stares at the sawmill, crafting a bed.
Cris approaches him, and he notices her. She presents him a recall potion, which he takes with curiosity, and then Cris it and vanishes. Sunny blinks, looking around himself first before drinking his recall potion.
In a blink of an eye he finds himself standing in their wooden house. He spots Cris hanging a painting on the wall, then breaking a piece of wall before replacing it with glass. It seems that the moon is slowly drifting downwards, but it is still dangerous outside. He turns and sees a furnace near the corner and he looks back to Cris who appears to marvel at her decoration.
Sunny brings out the bed and places it down, which Cris sees. They both look at each other, then towards the bed, then back at one another. They contemplate on what to do, then eventually come up with a decision.
Ultimately, they lay in bed together, gazing into the eyes and letting their bodies relax. After a couple of moments, they close their eyes and begin to sleep.
They have a restful night.
[Alt POV?]
Notes:
Again, trying out new things.
Now, I was thinking Cris would focus on ranger while Sunny would either be melee or magic, but then switch to summoner when he finds the Desert Tiger Staff.
Also, I finally played Slime Rancher, and let me tell you how wild it is that we play as a blue haired protagonist while the black haired musician(Guitarist) is pining for us.
This game is literally Sunfish coded.
