Chapter Text
Heather rubbed her eyes, it was a Saturday morning. She had absolutely nothing to do, it was going to be a peaceful weekend, no parties, Heathers or anything. Just her and her feelings.
That is- until she heard some noises coming from the kitchen.
She quickly sat on her bed and became alert.
"The maids never come on weekends-" Heather thought. Maybe it was a burglar, or worse, her parents had come. Heather decided to find out what it was, she stood up from bed and grabbed some pepper spray that she had on her nightstand and went downstairs. She noted the faint smell of eggs coming from the kitchen, ok it was definitely not a burglar, what burglar would be making eggs while they robbed?
Heather put down the pepper spray and walked to the kitchen, opening the wooden door that lead to it.
Lo and behold, her parents were there, making what seemed to be omelettes. Well- not her parents, but her mom.
Heather frowned, they're the type of people to ruin her peaceful weekend with their boring bullshit. Heather was about to return in her steps, but the voice of her mother interrupted her.
"Heather! I didn't know you were awake, care to sit and eat with us?" Ms. Chandler turned to her and gave a smile. Heather internally rolled her eyes
"Yeah, as if you cared about me." Heather thought with a sneer. The annoying part is that she couldn't escape, she had to sit with them for at least 30 minutes, or else they'd be up her ass, telling her to, "Make up for it! Come with us to your grandma's." And God, being with her grandma was not nice, she knows that her parents just go to earn the extra buck when she dies.
"Yes, mother." Heather bitterly said, a sweet smile adorning her face. She sat in the table next to her father who was reading a newspaper. She took her phone out and started scrolling through Instagram, looking for something that distracted her from the 30 minute hell she was about to suffer.
Some minutes later, Ms. Chandler left the food on the table, as well as a jar of cucumber water and some glasses. Everything looked very nice, and smelled well too.
Heather grabbed the fork and the knife, taking a bit of the omelette and putting it in her mouth.
"Heather, posture." Mr. Chandler barked. Heather immediately straightened her posture. Yes, in Westerburg she may be the embodiment of the word "intimidating" but God, her dad was ten thousand times more intimidating than her, from his glare, to his tone full of venom.
"And, how is it? Do you like it." Ms. Chandler asked as she drank a sip of her cucumber water.
"It's fine." Heather said as she ate a bit.
"Heather, we have great news!" Ms. Chandler chimed, a sweet smile adorning her face.
Chandler scoffed lightly and raised her eyebrow in question.
"We're going to a trip to the mountains. A month." Mr. Chandler answered in his deep voice as he turned a page on his newspaper.
"A bonding experience! Just the three of us." Ms. Chandler said in an overly happy tone.
Heather's eye twitched in anger, this was some prank, wasn't it? Her parents wouldn't even spend a month at home, why would they spend a month in the mountains with her?
"How. . . Delightful." Heather gave a toothy smile and frowned. What the hell?
Silence overtook the table for a few minutes, it was obvious this wasn't some kind of prank. Did her parents really think that was going to work? Maybe. But it wasn't going to work.
Heather got taken out of her trance by a sudden idea, what if she brought someone?
"By the way, can I bring someone?" Heather asked.
"C'mon Heather! Just a bonding experience between the three of us." Ms. Chandler replied. "But, if you wanted to bring someone maybe you could bring a boyfriend" Ms. Chandler raised her eyebrows suggestively and elbowed Heather.
Heather internally groaned. She didn't have a significant other. She'd have to be alone with her parents for a month in the mountains, and probably there wouldn't be any wi-fi in there.
The room went silent, only filled by the constant clacking of silverware on the porcelain plates. The aura that lingered around was an uncomfortable one to say the least, no one wanted to say anything. Not even Ms. Chandler tried to lighten up the mood with her Fake bubbly attitude. -Not that she tried, tough.- Heather checked her phone's clock, breakfast had started at 11:48 and now it was 12:30. Fair time to leave, not 30 minutes but enough.
Chandler stood up and went straight to her bedroom with a pissed off face and launched herself straight to bed.
Heather was beyond annoyed, she was pissed off. Did her parents really expect this trip to be a bonding experience between all of them? Of course it wouldn't be! They didssapear for months and expect her to enjoy this bullshit? She'd rather drink drain cleaner than spend a month alone with her parents.

The idea clicked in Heather's head

.
Maybe she could actually bring someone! She could pretend a relationship with that person.
Heather checked her options, Kurt- ew, no. Same for Ram. David? She hadn't seen him since the Remington party and he is shit. Brad? No, she is as shitty as David. Ok- she was out of options, maybe a girlfriend? She had mostly female friends, so it could work.
Who would I choose to spend a month with?" Heather thought.
Duke? way too annoying and she would make a big deal from this, thinking it was some "favoritism" bullshit. McNamara? Yes, she was fun to talk to but eventually she could get boring. Veronica? Ok, she is fun to talk to, a tad bit sarcastic, a huge nerd tough.
"Well, it is her or nothing." Heather thought. She grabbed her phone and looked at her contacts, she was soon striken with a big problem. How would she take it? Maybe she had other plans for Summer break. And- what and awkward question to be made "Hey, wanna pretend to be my girlfriend for a month?" Literally no one in human history has asked that. Well- maybe, but that wasn't the point.
She needed to find an easy and casual approach to this question, maybe a buildup? Yeah, that'd be enough.
