Chapter Text

“Come on Ponzu, you can do it” Pokkle said. How much more running is there? he thought to himself.
“The exit I can see it” he told her. That must have given her motivation because she sprinted in front of everyone and almost beat the examiner.

“Hurry up Pokkle” she yelled from the exit.
“I'm coming” he yelled back out of breath. He very quickly arrived.
“We did it, we are now hunters” she said excitedly.
“What are we going to do now?” she said
“Go get dinner, you wanna come?”he asked
“Yep let's go” she answered and off they went.

“Mmm this is delicious” Ponzu said
“Yep it’s one of my favorites” he told her
“What is your favorite food?” He asked
“Takoyaki” she said. There was an awkward silence and Pokkle was getting uncomfortable so to break the silence he said

“What are you going to do now that you have a license” he asked
“I want to be a blacklist Hunter” she told him
“Me to” he said
“Maybe we can work together and become closer friends” he said
“Pokkle May I tell you something?” she asked
“Sure” he replied
“I like you” she said. Pokkle was flustered; he wondered why she would say that out of the blue like that but now was no time to think he had to say something.

“I like you to” he said.
“Really, that makes me feel less nervous” she said
“Why were you nervous?” He asked
“Well you know I did not want you to think I was an airhead for liking you, so now that I know you like me too I feel like I don’t have to worry about slipping up” she said.

“I would never tell you that” he said then immediately blushing
“But you would think it?” she said. And then giggled.
“NO that is not what I meant I mean...um argh I am sorry I just am kind of embarrassed because of this conversation” he said

“Do you want me to leave?” she asked
“No, I am just relieved, embarrassed and happy.” He told her
“Don’t worry about it, it is almost 9:30 and we can grab dinner later,” she said. Then he walked her to the bus station and they planned to meet up for coffee the next day. When he got home there was a man in his living room.
“Whaaa” Pokkle screamed “who are you and what are you doing here?” He asked the yellow and black haired and what looked to be a sixteen year old boy.

“My name is Kanzai and I’m the tiger zodiac” he said.
“Why is a Hunter zodiac here?” he asked. “KANZAI is my name,” he yelled back. “We have a job for you” he told him.
“What is it?” He answered.
“There is a hotel owner that seems to be kidnapping young boys and he is selling them to other countries as soldiers” he said.

“What is the name of his hotel?” he asked.
“Sleep Well” he answered.
“Ugggh fine I’ll do it, and I passed the test less than 6 hours ago” he said.
“Look I don’t want to be dealing with this anymore than you, but we have to listen when chairman Netero gives and order we as the zodiac must listen” he told him. He jumped to the window

“We will send you more details later and have this done by the end of the week.” he told him and jumped away.

“Yes I have him right here you can tell Netero that the Sleep Well is now closed” he said.

“Good job, bring him in and you can go on the date you planned earlier” he said.
“How di-“ ‘click’ he hung up. When he dropped off the Hotel owner Netero was waiting for him(Kanzai was there too) to bring the man in.

“Here you go” he said.
“Thank you for doing this. We know it was really fast but the Hunter Association has been really behind and low staffed so all the help we can get is appreciated” he said.

“No problem, I am glad I can help even if I had to cancel my date” he said.
“So does that mean your hissy fit is over?” Kanzai said.
“I did it, didn't I?” he replied. “pfff you think that doing one mission means you are able to be all high and mighty” he said. They argued for a good 20 minutes. The only reason they stopped was because Netero got tired of Kanzai raising his voice.
“Well now that your argument is over Pokkle you may leave Kanzai I have to talk to you.” he said and walked away.

“Heeey, sorry I’m late.” Pokkle said.
“No problem, I just got here 5 minutes ago” Ponzu said.
“What would you like to eat? Cause I am starving.” He said.
“Ramen” she said.

“You don’t have to be really cheap, you know” he said.
“Oh that’s not it, I really like ramen, it is not because of money.” she said.
“How did your mission go?” she asked.

“Really good. I caught him before the deadline and he had about 10 bodyguards but I had some tranquilizers” he said.
“Yes but how did you get into the building etc.” she said.

“Well it all started when Kanzai(one of the Hunter Association zodiacs)left, I told myself just get it done and over with so in the morning I looked up the Sleep Well hotel and it was only 2 miles from where I lived. So I called and made reservations. When I got there I asked to speak with the manager while they were gone I hid in the vents and waited. When they came back with the manager I tranquilized the guards and the manager. Then I tied up the guards and put them in the locker room and handcuffed the manager and put him in my trunk and called Kanzai. He was really surprised that I did it so quickly but just told me to bring him back to the Hunter Association building. When I got there Chapman Netero and Kanzai were waiting for me. I gave Netero the manager and Kanzai got into a fight and that went on for a good twenty minutes. The only reason we stopped was because of Netero. Netero told me I could go and walked off with Kanzai. So I came here immediately.” he said.

“Wow, were you nervous?” she asked. “A little bit but don’t worry I will try to become braver.” he said.
“Here is your ramen.” the waiter said and walked away.They started eating and it was quiet until Ponzu asked
“What is your next assignment?”

“They haven’t given me one yet, but I hope I get one soon,” he said. And they were quiet again. The awkward silence was unbearable. Ponzu was sweating and Pokkle was scrunching his hand into a fist.Pokkle was trying to think of what to say when the waiter came to ask if everyone was doing ok. Pokkle asked for the check and they went back to eating. When the game of who could throw their card at the waiter first was over they started walking out.

“What is it?” he asked. She leaned in and kissed him and then ran away. Pokkle was surprised he had never been kissed before. So he tried to find her but she was gone. He tried calling her but she didn’t answer.

What were you thinking?

What were you doing? Ponzu thought while also running from a Hunter.

When she got to the bus stop she had already lost Pokkle in the crowd. She tried not to think about it but the only thing on her mind was Pokkle and what she did.

What am I going to do? My life is over if I see him again I will die of embarrassment she thought.

When she got home she started doing some research to get her mind off things. After about 10 minutes of research someone jumped in her window. She had never seen him before, he had white and black hair and kind of looked like a cow.

“Hello, Ponzu right?” he asked.

“Yes, who are you?” she asked.

“My name is Mizaistom Nana and I am a Hunter zodiac, here to give you an assignment.” He replied

“What is it?” she asked.

“There was an arson attack we need you to find the culprit.” he said

“Ok but how am I supposed to find a person I don’t have any info on?” she asked

“Don’t worry we have all the information you need back at the Hunter Association’s hideout.” he said

“If you need me I will come but I don’t know where the hideout is, will you take me?” she asked

“Yes follow me and you will see our hideout” he said.

So she hopped to the window and followed him to their hideout.

The were running for about 20 minutes when Mizaistom Nana suddenly stopped.

“What is it?” she asked

“Were here that’s it.” he said and started banging the ground to a rhythm.

“What are you doing?” she said “This is how we enter, with a password.” he said and continued to stomp his feet.

After almost walking away a wooden latch came out of a tree. When he pulled it a wooden door opens up from the ground. Mizaistom Nana immediately jumps in and calls Ponzu down while he’s falling she hesitates then jumps and everything went black..
