Chapter 1: Teenage stress

Chapter Text

"Tommy!"

Tommy shook his head. Looking around finally remembering where he was.
"Sorry Chuckie, how long was I out?" Tommy asked. Looking down at his empty lunch pan and panning across the table. Phil and Lil were busy comparing soccer scores while Kimi and Susie were busy working on a project. He couldn't find Dil, but he was sure he was around and than he looked to his immediate left and there was Chuckie. The red head looked utterly concerned at the blue haired boy.

"You ate your food faster than I have ever seen Phil do it" He said. Phil looked over and nodded in agreement. "And the next thing I know is, you're just staring blankly at your plate, like a zombie!"

"I-I'm sorry Chuckie. I'm sure its nothing and once school's over I will be fine" Tommy assured. Chuckie just shakes his head. Placing his hand on Tommy's shoulder and smiles.

"I don't think so Tommy, maybe we could have a sleepover at your house? You have been like this for a few weeks now and we gotta get to the bottom of this" Chuckie offered.

"I mean, I gotta ask my parents a-"

"I already asked them, they have been noticing it too so they told me ye-"

The bell rang, and the taller ginger boy frowned. The group gathered all their trash and made their ways and plopped it in the cans.

"I-i'll see you later Tommy!" Chuckie yelled as Phil guided him to class.

Tommy went to holler back, but was cut off by the rest of the student body as the lunch bell kept ringing.

"I swear he makes that bell louder every lunch" Tommy muttered as he walked with Susie to their next class.

"With Pangborn, would it surprise you? Also, Chuckie is right, what's been going on Tommy?"

"I don't know, you can't tell Chuckie, because, well, he is Chuckie. I keep getting up hours before my alarm and i don't know why"

"Stressed maybe? I mean, finals are coming up, but you know you got this Tommy. You have a pretty good head on those shoulder, just keep studying and you will be fine"

Tommy smiled at Susie. She was right, as long as he kept up his habits, he would be just fine. The two kids make their way through the classroom just as the teacher begun class.

While Tommy was settling into his English class, Chuckie and Phil begun everyone's favorite class, math. Chuckie groaned and fidgeted. Its not that he was bad at math, but something was VERY wrong, at least in his head, with his best friend.

"He's fine Chuckie. It's Tommy, he will be fine!"

"Yeah, Tommy is always fine, but you remember that time I asked him to make Kimi and I's video for our parents wedding anniversary? He was up for like a week straight!"

"Ok, yeah that may have happened, but just re-"

Phil was cut off by their teacher. The two boy's sighed and started their class work. The day dragged on for the whole gang. Just as the final bell rang in Tommy's class, a call to attention to the front of the class was issued and all the heads and talking stopped and all attention was to the teacher.

"I know you all are looking forward to summer vacation"

Cheers erupted from every corner in the classroom, but the teacher quickly shushed them down.

"But remember! Finals is a massive portion of your final grade. You need to study accordingly, unless you are like Susie or Tommy, I'm sure you two will ace this with your eyes shut"

Tommy laughed nervously while Susie just smirked. Just as the discussion began, the classroom erupted with the sounds of chairs squealing as they were pushed back and everyone bolted out of the room as final bell rang. Tommy let out a sigh of relief and grabbed his backpack and pushed his way through the student body. He watched different groups of kids laughing, something he had rarely been doing recently, no matter how hard his friends had tired. Chuckie was about the closest, but even then, it was a struggle. But, what could the great Tommy pickles be going through? People used to fight over him back when the BLEK group recruited him for his inventing prowess, and tall those other times, but Tommy didn't understand why he was so popular sometimes. Especially when he looked in the mirror, he was short, soft and getting flabby. The latter really stung when he thought about it. He wasn't supposed to be, but no matter what he tried he couldn't feel confident in himself, but he couldn't let his guard down. He had to be strong because he was afraid Chuckie would be let down, after all, Tommy had to be the strong one, the one that always said the right things at the right time. But, sometimes being that person is exhausting.

"Tommy!"

The familiar voice snapped him out of his trance and he looked up. His little group of Rugrats (their parents nickname for their group, he wasn't very fond of the name, but majority of the group liked it, so it stuck). He smiled and made his way over and Phil wrapped his arm on Tommy's shoulder.

"You guy's sure I can't tag along? Kimi is coming over and I can already hear her and Lil squealing about gossip"

"Sorry Phil, but I think its best for it to be just Tommy and I. I gotta work on my studying anyways"

Chuckie flopped forward, looking stressed. Tommy reached over and pulled his best friend back up. He smiled and gave Chuckie a pat on the back.

"You will be fine Chuck. You are WAY smarter than you give yourself credit for. And besides, it might be good for me to have some company tonight besides just having Dil with his crazy theories"

The best friend's smirked at each other as the bus arrived. A night of studying, video games and probably Tommy talking about his latest film work was about to happen, and Chuckie couldn't be happier.

Chapter 2: Midnight

Summary:

*Warning* some slight weight gain is in this chapter

Chapter Text

The slow lurch and squeaks of the bus came to a halt and the two boys waved to the rest of their friends and made their way up to Tommy's front door. To his surprise, nobody was home, but after a bit of searching he did find a note on the kitchen table.

Dear boys,
We are staying at a hotel for your dad’s latest invention unveiling. We just did the weekly shop so you should have plenty of food options. Dil is sleeping over at a friends house so its just you two. Please be good boys!

Love, Mom

"So it's just us?" Chuckie asked. Granted he already knew the answer, but he felt the need to make sure, you know, just in case.

"Yup. You want lemonade?"

Chuckie nodded and Tommy place one on the counter and grabbed two root beer's for himself. Chuckie grabbed his and is right eye brow ticked up. Before Chuckie could spill his curiosity Tommy quickly went over and tagged Chuckie.

"Your it haha" Tommy giggled as he ran to the stairs. Chuckie, caught so very much off guard, got his footing as quickly as he could.

"H-hey wait for me!"

He clumsily followed Tommy up the steps, making sure not to spill his lemonade in the process. By the time he made his way into Tommy's room, the purple haired boy already downed one soda. Tommy was about to laugh, but let out a sudden gasp.

"BOOOOUUUUURRRRRP!!" Tommy belched. His face flashed a fire engine red and quickly did his best to change the subject. "U-um, what should we do first Chuckie? Play some games o-or maybe watch a movie?"

Chuckie slow blinked and stood quietly for a moment, but smiled and nodded.

"Lets play some games, than lets watch that B- horror movie we found on imbd last time we slept over!"

Tommy smiled and quickly wiped the little beads of sweat off his forehead. The boys took turns playing Breath Of The Wild, talking about lore and discussing hidden secrets in its overworld. Just, two kids genuinely having a fun time. Neither Chuckie or Tommy remember having this much fun or even alone time together. Both boy's let out a content sigh. Tommy plopped in the movie and went downstairs.

"Want some pizza? I'm getting kinda hungry" Tommy said, lightly rubbing his belly. Chuckie nodded and just kinda watched Tommy. He followed him from the bed to out the door. Chuckie shook his head and quietly went back to sipping on his lemonade. Chuckie fiddled with his thumbs as time flew and Tommy walked into the room. The zesty smell of pizza filled his nostrils.

"So, um, Chuckie. I've been meaning to ask you? Have any girls interested you in school anymore? I know there was that one a few years ago"

Chuckie put his slice down and just face palmed.

"Y-you know Tommy, I just think this whole dating in high school thing is just not my thing."

Tommy gave Chuckie a little nod and picked up a slice and hit play on the remote. While this was at least half true. Chuckie wouldn't mind dating in high school, but girls, well. They just weren't his thing. There was always this feeling in his chest when we was around boy's he like. Preferably shorter boys, ones with blue hair. Yes, he may have had a massive crush on his best friend, but he was Chuckie, and that was Tommy. Tommy was WAY out of his league. He was one of the smartest kids in the whole school, just behind Susie. He could probably get any girl of his choosing if he wanted too, but he just beyond thrilled that Tommy was his best friend, just the best a guy could have. He was smart, funny, just so cute. Chuckie just watched as Tommy finished his first slice. The light bouncing of his friends soft cheeks. He had noticed Tommy had been kinda putting on weight, but not that Chuckie really minded. As long as Tommy was happy and healthy, he was happy.

"Um, What about you Tommy? Anyone tickle your fancy?"

He leaned back, rather deep in thought. It wasn't often he got to see Tommy like this. After a few moments he sighed and sat up.

"You know Chuckie, I'm not sure. After Rachel, it's just not been the same. I mean, maybe if the right person came along, I'm sure it could be fun"

This made Chuckie's ears perk up. Just the fact that Tommy said person and not girl. Now, Chuckie probably shouldn't have gotten too excited, but he was able to slowly calm himself down and relax and kept watching. Tommy kept resting his hand on Chuckie's shoulder as he quietly pointed film makes and theories as they watched. Chuckie didn't mind at all. Hearing Tommy talk about things that made him animated and excited helped him relax. After the movie finished the clock struck midnight. They agreed it was probably best to get some shut eye. Chuckie went to the bathroom to change and when he got back he kinda got a surprise. He remembered when Tommy got those Reptar pj's, they were actually loose on him. Now it practically hugged Tommy. You could see his soft upper body. Chuckie lightly smacked himself, just think to yourself that he just looks cute Chuckie. AND STAY CALM.

"I remember when we got those" Chuckie smiled. Tommy smiled back and sat on his bed, slowly getting under the covers.

"Yeah, was the last ones they had. They are super comfy. But, I say we hit the hay chuck. Let's study in the morning ok?"

"yeah, lets do that. Night Tommy"

"Night Chuckie"

A few hours had passed and Chuckie's small bladder made him stir. He grumbled and slowly stood up and rubbed his eyes. He could barely make out Tommy asleep in his bed, sprawled out barely under the sheets. He smirked and slowly made his way to the bathroom. After he did his business and washed up, he could have sworn he heard doors creaking. Freaking out, he grabbed his tooth brush, brandishing it like a weapon and slowly opened the door.

"T-Tommy!" he squeaked. Obviously too quiet to hear, he tiptoed his way to the bedroom and with a gulp, quickly looked in. He didn't see his friend murdered, in fact, Tommy was missing, well, from what he could see. After finding his glasses, he mustered up the courage and slowly made his way downstairs, making sure not to make a noise. With one more big gulp, the red head made his way through the house, until he was just outside the kitchen, where there was a light on. Chuckie took a deep breath and slowly peeked around the corner and gasped. Tommy was at the fridge, door open and grabbed the fresh half gallon of chocolate milk. Chuckie slowly made his way to Tommy and quietly tried to get his attention.

"Tommy, what are you doing?" he whispered. Tommy said nothing and slowly opened the top of the chocolate milk and started chugging it. Chuckie got a little bolder and got next to Tommy and looked down. He waved his hand in front of Tommy, but nothing, he just had this glazed look on his face. That's when it him.

"You're sleepwalking again!" he exclaimed quietly. He looked into the fridge and was shocked. Tommy had apparently dug into almost everything his parents had purchased the day prior! Lunchmeat, hotdogs, bread, you name it. A tiny belch drew Chuckie's attention back to his best friend. Tommy dropped the now empty container and lightly wiped his face and rubbed his belly. With one stretch Tommy turned back around and Chuckie assumed was heading back to bed.

"Why is he sleepwalking AND sleep eating?" Chuckie asked himself. After looking back at the fridge, he figured he could at least clean up the mess. After about ten minutes, the fridge and the floor were clean, he didn't really want to see Tommy get into trouble. With a big yawn, Chuckie made his way back upstairs, relaxed knowing there wasn't a murderer on the loose. Once Chuckie opened Tommy's door his immediate instinct was to check on Tommy. Chuckie actually blushed a little with what he was greeted with. Tommy was all sprawled out, slight drool and light snoring filled the room. What caught Chuckie's eyes though, was the small, but noticeable white stripe of his belly that his Reptar shirt was too small to cover. Chuckie slowly walked over, his face heating up. Tommy just looked so content? Chuckie took one more longing glance and slowly covered his best friend up. Giving Tommy some light head pats.

"Sleep Tommy, we solved you're sleepwalking once, we can do it again"

Chapter 3: Sibling advice

Chapter Text

Chuckie POV

It's been a week since the sleeper, and I STILL haven't told Tommy about what I found. Luckily his parents never asked us what happened in the fridge, and to be honest, the rest of that day went pretty smoothly. I adjusted my backpack as I ducked and dodged the older students.
"Ee-sorry!" I squeaked as I barely dodged one of the footballers. He just grumbled in response and turned around. I swept the sweat off my brow and went back to his original mission. Find Tommy. After more dodging and ducking I finally made it to Tommy's locker.

"Tommy" I yelled, just trying to project my voice over all the noise. The purple haired boy turned around and gave Chuckie a little wave. I instantly new something was wrong. I quickly walked up to him as he shut his locker door.

"You ok Tommy?" I asked. Tommy kept avoiding eye contact. That's when I noticed his oversized jacket. Not something I would normally consider strange, but this wasn't Tommy. The boy that I love, I-I mean know was never like this. I hated seeing his confidence get lower and lower.

"I-I'm great Chuckie, just you know been perfectly fine" his eye blinking a little as he responded. I force a smile and gently pat Tommy's shoulder.

"A-are your sure Tommy? You know you can tell me anything right?" I asked. It probably sounded more like begging, but just as Tommy was about to speak, the bell rang and the flow of students increased. Tommy dipped his head back down, but made sure to look at me and gave me a little smile and wave. It hurt seeing Tommy like this.

"Tommy.." I whispered to myself. I slowly walked to my next class. Just defeated.

I need to talk to Kimi. I couldn't find Tommy on the way to the bus and I'm not gonna lie, I was low key freaking out. I scurry to the back of the bus and pull out my phone.

Me: Hey Tommy where are you? I know something is wrong, you can tell me bud

After waiting the entire bus ride, I felt a buzzing from my pocket and quickly pulled out my phone. I paused my breath and stumbled on my password a few times, but managed to get into my phone, and it was Tommy.

Tommy: Sorry Chuckie, Dil and I had to get a ride home today, have some doctor's appointments. And I promise Chuck, if anything was wrong I would tell you. You're my best friend in the whole world ok?

I could hear his voice reading the message, and I really wanted to believe him. With a sigh I got up from the bus seat, and wandered into my house. After I threw my bag into my closet I sat on my bed, looking at the last picture Tommy and I took together. I smiled and remembered what I had to do. Against my better judgement, I made my way to Kimi's door.

"Nah, I don't need to do this" I said, trying to be confident. "B-but I guess I could use SOME advice"

Mustering up as much courage as he could he knocked on Kimi's door and closed his eyes.

"Come in"

Now after feeling dumb with standing there with my eyes closed. I opened the door and to my horror Lil was also there?

"Uh, on second thought maybe this is a bad idea" I tried to turn around, but I felt Kimi quickly turn me around.

"Not so fast Chuckie, something is definitely not a bad idea" she smirked. Lil sprung up and and watched the siblings intently. With a gulp I tried my best to come up with anything.

"U-um, well I-I was wondering if you could help me do some studying?" I asked with putting on what I thought was my most convincing face. All I got back was a single raised eye brow. That's all she had to do.

"Ok! That's not why I'm here....I like someone and I don't know what to do" I muttered. I watched as both of their eyes lit up and Kimi dragged me to her bed. "H-hey easy now, I'm still fragile you know!"

"OMG who is it Chuckie?!"

"What's her name?"

"Can we PLEASE calm down? I really don't need mom or dad hearing us!" I hissed. Thankfully the girls calmed down, with their volume at least.

"Who is she?" They both asked. I tugged my my hair a bit.

"I-its not a she" I squeaked. Both girls gasped and I swear their eyes got as big as saucers.

"Its...a...boy!!!" The girls squealed with glee. I shushed and begged them to calm down. "but seriously, who though Chuckie?"

"Do you promise not to tell nobody?" Both heads bobbed in unison. I took a finally deep breath

"I...IminlovewithTommyheisthecutestguyinourschool" I fumbled out and quickly covered my face. The silence was beyond awkward.

"Um, maybe again, but slower?"

"I'm"

"Yeah"

"In love"

"Yes"

"With"

"Yes!" Their anticipation building.

"T-Tommy"

Still clenching my eyes closed as I heard a few small gasps be let out. I suck it up and slowly peek with one eye and both girls are staring at me.

"I-I know its wrong...to be in love with my straight best friend....just bring it on..."

"They would be so perfect!" I heard Kimi squeal. "I can totally see it!"

"Them holding hands and kissing EHHH!" Lil hollered as the girls embraced and jumped around the room.

"U-um girls, still kinda right here" I whispered. The girls looked at each other and quickly sat down on both sides of me.

"How long have you felt this way Chuckie?" Kimi asked.

"Um, since I got super jealous of when he dated Rachel, but there is no way we would want to go out with me"

"You don't know that Chuckie" Lil said. "I think you should ask him"

"If you don't mind me asking, what makes you find Tommy attractive?" Kimi asked. I leaned back a little, literally running through every Tommy memory I had.

"Well, um, he is super smart, brave, adventurous. He says everything right at the right time" And this was when I started to get out of hand.

"He also just has this soft little angelic look to him with his soft cheeks and he does this thing when he rests his hand on his face and closes that eye and smiles at you and it just melts your heart and you just wanna..." I turned back to the girls and realized they were recording me. I felt my face flash beat red as the girls both sniffled and began to hug.

"That's so...cute!!!"

I groaned and used my shirt to cover my eyes.

"Do you promise not to tell him" I pleaded.

"Of course big brother, but you have to tell him"

"Do I have too, what if he hates me..." I whimpered. Kimi pulled me into a warm sibling hug.

"I promise you Chuckie, he is your best friend for a reason. You two have an unbreakable bond, and even if for some reason he doesn't or can't date you, he would still want you to be his very best friend ok?" She smiled. I nodded and gave her a hug of my own. I just hope I don't lose my best friend from all this.

Chapter 4: Doctors visit

Chapter Text

Tommy's POV

I wish I was kidding about everything I texted Chuckie. I sighed and shoved my phone back into my pocket, going back to resting my head against the window. The last thing I needed was to go to the doctors.

"Bro, at lunch today Todd told use about how..." Dil's voice trailed off as I toned him out. It was nothing against Dil, I just wasn't in the head space to hear his or his friends wacky theories. As we pulled into the office I finished reading my story. With a sigh I got out and shut my door as I followed Dil and my mom inside.

"Hello Mrs. Pickles, guessing it's time for their checkups?" the receptionist smiled. Mom pulled us into her and smiled. As they talked Dil and I made our way to the waiting room. To my surprise mom and Dil went first, leaving me alone in awkward silence. After going back to my phone a heard some footsteps enter the room and I slightly looked up. A girl and her mom had entered the room and were talking, and even though I only looked up for a second she apparently noticed and gave me a little smile and wave. I did the same back and the two of them sat down a few seats down from me. I went back to my phone for awhile, but kept feeling uncomfortable feeling of being watched. I hesitated for a moment, but put my phone down and looked up and was immediately greeted with that girls face.

"Hi my name's Wendy, what's yours?" she asked eagerly.

"uh, my names Tommy" I said apprehensively. "Are you knew here?"

"Yeah, do you go to Jim Jr. Junior high?" she asked. I hesitantly nodded and she squealed. "Awesome! We should be friends!"
I laughed nervously as just on cue, Dil, mom and the doctor entered the room.

"well, its your turn MR. Pickles" the doctor smiled. I sighed and stood up, but rather stupidly forgot to suck in my belly and it was on full display right in front of Wendy. I felt my face heat up and quickly sucked in my gut and followed the doctor, hearing Wendy stifle some giggles.

"Dang it Tommy..." I muttered to myself as we entered the room. I prayed that I wouldn't have to get weighed right away, but life was a cruel mistress.

"Ok Tommy, I need to go down to your boxers ok?" the doctor asked. I shuddered at the thought. It had nothing to do with the doctor, I've been seeing him my whole life, but just hated everything right now. I reluctantly took off my pants to reveal my Reptar boxers. My face heated up and I could tell the doctor had noticed.

"Tommy, I promise you, it will be quick and as soon as we get you weight and check your blood pressure you will be able to get dressed ok?" I could here the concern in his voice. I slowly nodded and got ready for the part I was most worried about. I slowly removed my shirt and I could literally feel my belly and these stupid moobs jiggle and flop as I took it off. Oh my god, they were STILL moving after half a minute. I slowly went onto the scale and closed my eyes as he moved the dials. I felt him move me and I opened one eyes and I could see he was bringing me to a height chart. Great, more demoralizing stuff.

"OK Tommy, you did great and before we check your blood pressure you can get dressed ok? I'm not in the business of making kids feel uncomfortable "

I quickly got dressed and hopped onto the examination table and rolled up my sleeve. He had to walk out of the room so as I waited I just kicked my feet, trying to distract myself. After a few minutes he came back in with his paperwork.
"Alright Tommy, let's see, five feet one inches tall, one hundred and fifty pounds with a bmi of just over twenty eight. Do you know what that means Tommy?"
I felt my heart drop, one hundred and fifty pounds. I swear the last time I only weighed like one fifteen. But I did the math in my head and I knew what it meant.

"It means I'm overweight" I whimpered. "But sir, I don't know how! I mean, I eat pizza drink soda's like any kid, but I swear I don't over do it!"

"Hmm, could it be anything with school or maybe stress related? I know you have finals coming up, your little brother is worried about you"

"Dil is? I mean it could be?" I thought. "I mean I keep waking up at five in the morning, and I usually wake up already feeling full so I usually skip breakfast"

"Hmm" he muttered as he wrote into on his clipboard. "And any relationships Tommy? Like are you seeing a girl or a boy?"

"Uh, no sir, not currently. I mean I had a girlfriend a few years ago, but I decided it wasn't worth getting into a relationship right now"
The doctor nodded and closed his clipboard. He beckoned me to stand up and so I did.

"I'm gonna recommend to your mom that you have a sleep study done. And Tommy, your are still a very healthy teenage boy ok?" he said trying to reassure me. I nodded my head and we walked into the waiting room, Wendy was still there, but she was distracted thankfully and the adults talked for a few, I presume to let my mom know about everything. Dil looked at me, I imagine seeing if I wanted to talk, but I gently shook my head and placed my hand on his shoulder. As we got into the car and heading home. I tried listening to my music and closed my eyes, but I felt my mom's hand touch my shoulder.

"Hey honey" she smiled. "How are you feeling?"

I just shrugged and rest my face on my palm. I really didn't want to have this conversation, but I knew my mom pretty well and gave in.

"I don't know mom. I had no idea that I've been such a pig....like I knew I might have gained weight, but I weigh one hundred and fifty pounds..."

"Tommy....you have always been on the....softer side. Remember when you were a baby? You always had a little belly. You're also still growing honey."

"A-and I'm also so short for my age.." I whimpered.

"Thomas Malcolm Pickles, you and your brother are my pride and joys and are the best kids I could have ever asked for. You are perfect in every way do you understand me?"

I sniffled a little and nodded and ever so slightly leaned against my mom as she drove us home.

The next day.

Never failing. I lazily turn over and look at my clock. It was 5am, and on a Saturday no less. Just as I was about to turn over and go back to sleep my phone went off. I grabbed it and to my surprise it was Chuckie.

Chuckie: are you awake Tommy?

Me: Actually just got up, but why are you up so early Chuckie?

Chuckie: Well you know, just couldn't sleep, and I um, had a feeling you might be up and wanted to make sure you are ok

Me: You didn't have to Chuckie, but I appreciate the concern, do you think that you and the gang might want to hang at the mall today?

Chuckie: Of course buddy! I'll text them, but you need to go back to sleep

Me: You also you dork, but alright see you later!

I put my phone down with a sigh of relief, I don't know how, but Chuckie lately has been messaging me or just doing little things at the right time. I set my alarm and pulled my covers, looking forward to the day.

God what to wear. I thought to myself, after what felt like forever I finally decided on a red zip up hoodie, teal shirt with some ripped cargo pants. I quickly put it on, and look in the mirror. My face heats up as my eyes move down my body and I realize how much the shirt shows off my pudge, but my phone goes off and its Chuckie.

"Hey Chuck, what's up? Oh you guys are already here? Ok I'll be right down" I say and hang up. I quickly made my way downstairs and am greeted by my parents.

"where you going sport?"

"Susie is here with everyone, we are going to the mall"

"Great Sweetie, do you need any spending money?"

"No thanks mom, I still have a lot of chore money left"

"Have fun honey" mom smiled. I smiled back and made my way for the door.

Chapter 5: The Mall

Summary:

*some bullying and light homophobia in this chapter*

Chapter Text

Third Person

Chuckie was leaning against the window, until he finally heard Tommy's front door open. Chuckie perked up at the sight of him.
"So cute..." Chuckie sighed happily. He heard Kimi and Lil giggle a little, but Chuckie just shook it off. Tommy ran up and opened the car door and Kimi and Lil made room so Tommy could crawl into the back seat with Chuckie. Tommy smiled and gave Chuckie a high five.

"Like the outfit Tommy" Chuckie smiled. Tommy fidgeted with his hoodie and looked back at Chuckie.

"Really, thanks Chuckie" Tommy smiled. The two boys started talking about another b-movie that they had found and unbeknownst to them, Kimi and Lil were watching intently.
"Tommy! Have you seen the new COD gameplay? Its gonna be SWEET!" Phil said excitedly. Chuckie perked up an eye brow and looked at Tommy.
"You play Call Of Duty? I thought your parents said you couldn't play rated M games?"

"Well, um, I may have given a friend that's a grade higher than me money to buy it for me" Tommy shrugged awkwardly. Chuckie facepalmed.

"Do you at least have a cool username?"

"Of course I d-"

"He doesn't, its literally Tommy Pickles. We were playing one time and someone from school asked if he was Tommy and he ACTUALLY said no, he said that he was a different Tommy Pickles from Texas" Phil laughed. While the boys were busy teasing Tommy, well Phil was, Chuckie was checking his phone and he wasn't very surprised to see a text from Kimi.

Kimi: You got to ask him today! You two look so cute back there!

Chuckie: Do I gotta? Can't we just have a fun day of us being best friends and not have me mess it up?

Kimi: Ok, but if anything happens you gotta tell me!

Chuckie: Ok, oh, um, I kinda found a song for him

Before Chuckie knew it Tommy had placed his hand on his shoulder.

"What are you doing Chuckie" he asked. Tommy noticed the flash of panic in his friends eyes, but thought better than pointing it out. Tommy knew when he should press or not, well, he wouldn't call it pressing, but he knew it would make Chuckie uncomfortable. "Um, when we get to the mall, do you want to help me find some new movies to watch? I need to study some new material for some projects I have this summer"
Tommy was relieved to see the normal glimmer of Chuckie's eyes come back. As Chuckie nodded in response they finally pulled into the mall. The girls took lead as the boys trailed them into the building.
"We have to go to the music, some new albums dropped and they are apparently selling them in vinyl here" Susie and Kimi said in unison.

"And we need to get new sports gear, cause SOMEBODY shrunk them in the wash" Lil scoffed in Phil's direction.

"Hey, its not my fault the dryer got stuck on!" The twins argued as they went there own way. And then there was two, but to be honest, they were relieved to just be the two of them.

"I'm glad its just us" Tommy smiled. He turned to look at Chuckie, who looked both very happy and beyond nervous. Which Tommy found kind of, cute?

"Absolutely, definitely not afraid of ruining anything" Chuckie squeaked. "So what do you want to do first?"
Before Tommy even got a chance to respond a low grumble was emitted from Tommy's midsection.

"Guess we should get some lunch huh"

"N-no, I promise I'm F- *GwwwuuuOOOOOORRRBL* ok...maybe a little..." Tommy said glumly. The amount of heat Tommy was feeling on his face was immense. He looked up and saw Chuckie holding out his hand, and with slight hesitation, Tommy took it and Chuckie guided them through the food court.

" What do you want Tommy? Its my treat" Chuckie smiled. Typically Tommy was the one that was used to being the one buying for them, so it took him a minute.

"Um, you pick Chuckie, pretty much anything will taste good right now" Tommy said defeatedly. Chuckie placed his hand on Tommy's shoulder and gave him a reassuring look. After waiting in line for a hot minute, Chuckie ordered his food and waved Tommy up for his turn.
"Are you sure Chuckie? I can buy my own" Chuckie just shook his head and Tommy sighed. "Um, I'll have three double cheeseburgers, um, and a large fry" Tommy mumbled. Just as the cashier was about to give the total, Tommy blurted out one more thing.

"Can I get two of those little desert pie slices?" Tommy asked and tapped his two pointer fingers together. The cashier smiled and added them to the order. All Chuckie did was blink, maybe the sleep eating wasn't the only reason why his crush had gotten softer and a little more angelic. The boys grabbed their food and picked a table near the back wall of the court to eat. Just before Tommy could sink his teeth into his first burger Chuckie as a question about a topic Tommy really didn't want to discuss.

"How did the doctors visit go?" he asked. Tommy put down his burger and placed his soft face in his palms.

"I got clarification that I'm fat Chuckie" Tommy whimpered. "and not even like a little bit, I'm classified as overweight"

"Tommy, you can't be you look gre-"

"I weigh one hundred and fifty pounds Chuckie...I'm fat..." the tears slowly starting to well up in Tommy's eyes. Chuckie, without thinking leaped up and pulled Tommy into an embrace. Tommy rested his head on Chuckie's shoulder and after a moment Chuckie spoke.

Tommy...you are absolutely fine...if there is one thing you have taught me through all these years is that you should be proud of yourself and be you. Just because you have a little pudge doesn't mean anything, remember a few years ago before my growth spurt I was even a little soft?"

Tommy let out a slight chuckle as he wiped his eyes. Tommy adjusted in his seat and let his breathing get settled.

"Thanks Chuckie...like really I needed that...you are getting really good at this advice stuff" Tommy gave him a little smile.

"I have a great teacher" Chuckie smirked and playfully punched Tommy's shoulder. " You should eat though, we can't go movie hunting on an empty stomach"

The boys finished their lunch, Chuckie just feeling happy that he was able to help Tommy calm down, even just a little bit. Tommy stifled a burp while Chuckie did the same thing to a giggle.

"I need to use the restroom Chuckie, I'll be right back ok?" Tommy said. Chuckie nodded and cleaned up the table while Tommy went to the restroom. Chuckie heard some snickering going on behind him and noticed a few kids from his grade trailing Tommy into the bathroom.

"Uh oh" Chuckie whimpered.

Tommy did his business and once he closed the stall door and washed his hands. He looked up at himself in the mirror. He nervously unzipped his hoodie and lifted up his shirt revealing his soft supple belly. He gingerly squeezed his plush belly fat which made him blush a little bit. Tommy started to think, maybe some fat wasn't all that bad. Just as he was about to let go of his shirt he heard the door open and in came some older boy's, the kind that you knew would pull some stuff, just by the snarky remarks they were saying about each other.

"Yo look what we have here? A little piggy is checking himself in the mirror haha" They all laughed. Tommy's face burned red and he did his best to calm down and tried to figure out the best way out, but before he knew it two of the boy's held him against the wall and another one lifted up his shirt.

"Damn, little piggy has gotten even FATTER since the last time" he laughed manically and proceeded to grab squeeze and slap Tommy's belly. The feeling of his belly being just abused and just the thought of knowing how much his belly must be wobbling in front of this group of bullies made Tommy lose it. The laughter grew louder and the smacking and grabbing became harder as the group assaulted Tommy.

"What the hell is going on in here!" boomed a loud voice. Tommy gasped as he was dropped to the ground and the tenth graders all started stumbling over their words. Tommy opened one eye and looked up and saw it was a mall cop, the first time he had ever really seen one be useful. "Y'all get out of this bathroom!
His voice echoed probably through the whole mall and the boys ran out, but were greet by two more mall cops. Tommy tried his best to get up, but the poor boy was still in tears. He felt the man grab his hand and carefully helped Tommy up and helped lead him out of the bathroom to immediately see Chuckie. Tommy HATED having Chuckie see him like this, but emotions took over and he ran right into Chuckie's chest. Chuckie couldn't even speak. All he could do was squeeze Tommy as tight as possible and stroke his hair.

"Stupid fags..." one of the tenth graders growled. Tommy turned his face and Chuckie is thankful he didn't see it, because those kids turned away as soon as Tommy turned. Chuckie pulled out his phone and sent out a group chat.

Chuckie: Guys, we gotta leave

Kimi: What happened?

Phil: yeah, Lil and I still haven't bought our stuff yet

Chuckie: Something happened to Tommy...can we please leave...

Tommy and Chuckie sat down and thankfully it wasn't long until the gang all arrived and gasped when they saw Tommy. His whole face was red and still had stray tears rolling down his face, gripping Chuckie's arm tightly. Without hesitating Susie guided them out to the van and everyone jumped in.

"What happened Chuckie?" Susie asked. Before Chuckie had a chance to explain, Tommy sat a little bit straighter and told them everything. How ever since the teachers kept using him as their example to being one of the top students which had been making him nervous to the bit of weight spike and that one day in gym he was getting changed and they did something similar.

"Dang Tommy...I'm so sorry" Phil said.

"I hate people..."

"They were lucky not all of us were there!"

"Thanks guys" Tommy said defeatedly. "I-I just wish none of you saw me like this..."

"Tommy, things happen...just because some dweebs were stupid. And its ok to let your guard down for your friends ever now and again" Susie said. "do you want to go home Tommy?"

"I think I'm gonna go home with Chuckie, I REALLY don't want to deal with my parents in this state" Tommy answered. "As long as its alright to you two"

Chuckie and Kimi looked at each other and nodded and the teens texted their parents asking for permission.

Chapter 6: Mutual feelings

Chapter Text

By the time they made it to Chuckie's house Tommy developed a full blown rash.

"Uh, you think you might be able to stop for a minute to get you inside?"

"I wish, but I REALLY can't stop"

Chuckie guided Tommy into the house as Kimi helped by opening doors.

"Hey Mr. Finster" Tommy said as he quickly was dragged by the kitchen.

"Hey Tommy" Chaz said, but as he turned around nobody was there. "Huh, maybe I'm just hearing things"

Before Tommy realized it Chuckie was literally taking off his top layer of clothes and started immediately rubbing what he guessed was some anti itching cream onto his skin. Tommy had never felt his face heat up like this before as his best friend reached his belly and before he knew it, he was wrapped in a robe.

"Um, Tommy, its all done" Chuckie said as Tommy slightly opened one of his eyes. "Hopefully that should help once we get you lying down"

Once Tommy lied down in Chuckie's bed and his stress slowly melted away being in such familiar room that wasn't his own. Tommy looked around and it always amazed him at how much tidier Chuckie was. Tommy's room looked like your typical fourteen year olds room. Some clothes tossed around, hamper overflowing, but it could be way worse, like Phil's room. Chuckie's was neat and tidy, clothes were put away, and to Tommy's surprise, most of the pictures he had up were of him and Chuckie. Which was a little bit awkward, but did make Tommy feel good.

"Um, hey Chuckie, could I have a drink?" Tommy asked. Chuckie quickly nodded and sprinted out the door. Tommy winced as he heard Chuckie stumble a little as Kimi entered the room

"Feeling better T?" Kimi asked. Tommy gave her a little nod and gripped the robe. Kimi gave a little wave and just as she was about to leave.

"Kimi! Um, can I ask you something?"

"Of course , what's on your mind Tommy" Kimi asked. Tommy gulped and never really thought he would be were he was right now. Tommy had been trying to out the piece's together, but today, when Chuckie consoled him, the piece's finally clicked. Maybe he didn't just like girls, well, at least he liked girls and Chuckie, there really haven't been any boys that made his hear beat go rapid. So, maybe he was Bi-chuckiesexual? The fact that Chuckie had been the only one besides his own mom to try and help him feel better in his own skin, just felt so nice. And to be honest, Chuckie was and always has been there, granted Tommy had been there mostly for him.

"Um, what would you do, if you really liked someone that's been so close to you for so long?" Tommy asked sheepishly. Tommy watched Kimi's eyes start to shine.

"You like Chuckie!" she whispered. Her eyes starting to let little droplets of tears onto her cheek. "If I was in love with my best friend since I was basically born I would tell him. Because even if they weren't in love with me back, they would understand that nothing would change, because the two of us would be inseparable by that point"

"So, how would one best friend ask their best friend out?"

"Well, if I was in love with my best friend, I would want to do something romantic, like by the beach or something like that"

"What if you're, um, not the most romantic type?"

"Well, you never know, because you might not have to be the one to ask" Kimi winked. Tommy squinted his eyes, really trying to decipher the look on Kimi's face, but shortly after Chuckie was right behind Kimi. With a cheeky grin Kimi walked away and Chuckie just kept looking between Tommy and Kimi.

"Did I miss something?" he asked. Tommy quickly shook is head.

"Nah Chuckie, just had a little conversation is all" Tommy responded as Chuckie handed him a Mountain Dew and unscrewed the cap to his lemonade.

"So, uh, what do you want to do?"

"Maybe watch a movie? So you can relax and unwind?" Chuckie suggested. Tommy liked that idea and without thinking scooted over in Chuckie's own bed so the taller boy had room while Chuckie booted up Netflix. It wasn't long into the cheap horror flick that Chuckie felt something hit his arm. He looked over and was greeted by a full head of blue hair. Tommy had passed out and fell asleep leaning against Chuckie. The slight snoring and soft twitching as Tommy dreamed. Chuckie couldn't help but notice how peaceful Tommy looked. Chuckie gently rubbed Tommy's soft face, cupping it in his hand. He always saw Tommy as cute, but he never really realized just adorable he was. Chuckie, as carefully as he could, grabbed the remote and turned off the tv and gently shrunk under the covers. Being extra sure not to wake Tommy up and as soon as hit head hit the pillow Tommy wrapped himself around Chuckie's arm, the sounds of snoring and slight whispered sentences from Tommy's dream filled his ear. Chuckie slowly closed his eyes. He had never dreamed that this would happen, well, it had happened when they were little, but that definitely doesn't count. The fact Tommy was using him as a pillow and for what Chuckie thought was the first time in months, it looked like Tommy was getting some good nights sleep. Chuckie was gonna relish in this moment and snuggled against Tommy and drifted off. Hoping there were more moments like this to come.

Chapter 7: Tale of two families

He finally got it on video. Chuckie followed Tommy down to the kitchen, which kinda surprised Chuckie, until he remembered how many times Tommy had been over. just as Tommy opened the fridge and Chuckie handed him a glass of milk that he planted, just in case this happened and shortly after he shut the fridge and made his way back upstairs. Just as Tommy lied back down, Chuckie gently shook him awake.

"Tommy, wake up" he whispered. The shorter boy slowly whined and stirred awake.

"Wha-whats wrong Chuckie?" Tommy yawned. Chuckie lowered his brightness and showed Tommy what he recorded. Tommy's eyes widened as he watched himself leave the bed and go downstairs to the fridge.

"That's why I've been gaining weight..." Tommy muttered. Chuckie pulled Tommy into him. Chuckie really wasn't used to this.

"Tommy...this isn't like you....so what if you have a little belly and some chubbier cheeks? You are still you, the smartest and bravest guy I know." Chuckie pleaded. "And it really suits you..."
Chuckie begged to whatever there is above that Tommy didn't hear that last part.

"Thank you Chuckie...its just...what those guys did and said to me just keeps ringing in my head every second of ever day..."

"Screw those guys! Who was the one that has always been there for me when I was either getting bullied or when I was bullying myself?"

"Well me b-"

"You told me to ignore them and be me, well, you said way more than that, but I can't exactly remember right now"

Tommy looked down and Chuckie pulled Tommy into a hug. The two pulled apart and looked at each other. Tommy could see the care in Chuckie's eyes, while Chuckie could see the hint of doubt in Tommy's.

"I like the new Tommy just as much as the old one...I hope that means something..."

"I-it does Chuckie....I promise I will try and get better ok?" Tommy tried to give a little smile and gave Chuckie a hug.

"Pinky promise?"

"Pinky promise"

"Thanks Tommy, we should go back to sleep though"

"Yeah, your right Chuckie, good night"

"Night Tommy"

A Few Days Later

Ever since that night, Chuckie had just been on Tommy's mind. It was getting to the point that Tommy was getting worried about himself. It made him think, if it was time to let his parents know about him, which, made his heart beat faster in sheer fear.

"Pickles!" a voice shouted. Tommy gasped and looked up to see every eye was on him.

"Uh, sorry Mr. Beaker, just was, uh, deep in thought" Tommy said. Some kids laughed, but most just turned back towards the teacher. Mr. Beaker made his way and whispered into Tommy's ear.

"If you want, you can do your finals in the Library, I've been told about how stressed you are and I want you at your best and I think it would help" he smiled.

"Thanks Mr. Beaker" Tommy smiled. He grabbed his things and made his way to the library and to his surprise Chuckie was already there.

"What are you doing here Chuckie?" Tommy whispered. He sat down next to his best friend has Chuckie was just getting started on his finals.

"I was sent here because I kept tapping my desk and disturbing class. What about you, did Mr. Beaker tell you someone told him that you needed some quiet place to take your finals?" Chuckie smirked.

"yeah, so is it just us in here?"

"No, there is a small group on the other side of the library"

"Oh, ok, we should get started"

They got started, since the sooner they finished, the sooner they could leave for summer vacation. The sounds of pencils and erasers could ever so slightly be heard throughout the library. Another sound slowly started to fill the library and it caused Chuckie to look up.

"What's that noise Tommy?"

"Um, that's my post nasal drip, sorry Chuckie" Tommy mumbled. To his surprise, Chuckie kind of giggled.

"That's ok Tommy, just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy" Chuckie responded. Tommy smiled and went back to work as Chuckie just watched and listened for a moment. It wasn't a bother to Chuckie, not in the slightest. In fact, he found it rather calming and soothing. The scratches of pencil continued for hours until Tommy put his pencil down. He let out a sigh and wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Finally" Tommy sighed and leaned back in his chair. He closed his eyes and listened to the familiar sound of Chuckie writing. Tommy could tell it was Chuckie by his familiar writing pattern.

"Thank god" Chuckie sighed as he threw his pencil down. "Want to give them our tests so we can hang out in the lunch room?"

The two made their way into the lunch room, to which no surprise that Kimi and Susie were there, already waving them down. C and T sat down and threw their backpacks off and rested their heads on the table.

"So, how did it go?"

"Hopefully ok"

"Probably could have gone better"

"Well, I think you both did great" Susie smiled. Tommy and Chuckie both raised their heads a gave a little smile. The four of them started talking about what their plans were this summer. Susie was going to be traveling to Chicago for a singing gig, while Kimi was going to be gone for a month to visit Japan.

"What about YOU two" Kimi teased. Chuckie could feel himself sweat and Tommy had one eye brow raised. Tommy had been curious since that conversation they had a few days ago. But this did get Tommy thinking, is tonight gonna be the night he tells his parents? Just as Tommy was about to speak Chuckie blurted out.

"I'm gonna tell my dad something I should have a long time ago!" Chuckie blurted out. "And, uh, hopefully he won't hate me"

"What could you tell your dad that would make him hate you?" Tommy asked.

"Uh, I've needed new glasses for the last two years" Chuckie awkwardly smiled. Kimi facepalmed while Tommy just tilted his head.

"I guess there is something I should tell my parents too, but I can't tell you guys till after they know"

The group sat around and chilled until the school buses finally came to pick them up and they all agreed to meet up in a few days at the mall.

Chuckie and Kimi walked into the house, Chuckie REALLY having second thoughts.

"You can do it Chuckie, you know dad will love you regardless" Kimi assured. "You are his pride and joy"

"I hope you're right Kimi" Chuckie gulped. "Well, here we go"

The two siblings made their way to the kitchen where their father was busy cleaning some dishes and their mom was helping by making dinner.

"Um, mom and dad, c-" Chuckie tried to turn away, but Kimi just turned him around. "can I tell you guys something?"

"Of course Chuckie, here, lets sit at the table"

The whole family sat down at the table and Chuckie could feel the sweat starting to drip down his face. Chuckie just wanted to hightail it and run, but a familiar voice was in his head.

"You can do this Chuckie, just be yourself" the sound of Tommy's voice filled his head. Chuckie sighed and tightened his fists.

"Mom and dad, I'm gay" Chuckie stated and quickly closed his eyes. He heard Kimi giggle and cocked one eye open to see his dad giving mom a five dollar bill.

"Um, what?"

"Well Chuckie, I've had a feeling that this might have been the case for awhile, you dad did too, but we made a little wager is all"

"Yeah, but I'm so proud of you for telling us Chuckie, I can imagine how much courage it must have taken you to tell us"

His parents walked over and gave him a giant hug and it felt like a massive weight was lifted off his shoulders. Kimi joined in right after.

"So is there any boy in particular?" Kira asked. Chuckie, wasn't even concerned anymore.

"Tommy" he sighed happily. The hug stopped and Chaz started to laugh. "What's so funny?"

He watched the same bill that Chaz gave Kira was given back to him. Even Kimi was surprised by the whole ordeal.

"Well, we mad a bet years ago if Chuckie would be into guys, or girls or both and Kira said boy's and I said both"

"And we made a bet on if it would be anyone close and Chaz said it would be Tommy hands down if he was into boy's"

Kimi couldn't help but laugh and Chuckie joined in soon after and the whole family joined in together.

At Tommy's House

"How do you think you did sport?" Stu asked as Tommy moved his chair so he could sit at the table.

"I think I did ok, and um, can I tell you guys something?" Tommy asked, the fear slowly building up.

"Of course Tommy"

Tommy closed his eyes and tried to focus his breathing to try and help calm him down. "It's something I haven't been that sure of for awhile, but I think I've finally realized it"

"Ok" Stu said, gesturing Tommy to continue, just as Tommy was about to speak Dil finally entered the room"

"Hey guys what did I miss" Dil said. He gave the room a quick glance and realized he had interrupted something and sat down. "uh, my bad"

Tommy gulped. What he was about to say still had him spinning, but after this past week, it finally felt right after putting the piece's together.

"I'm....I'm bisexual mom and dad. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out my feelings, and it just feels right to me" Tommy sputtered. A wave of relief hit him, he had no idea how much this made him feel better. He waited for a response, but there was nothing.

It was as if you could hear the sound of dust particles hitting the ground. A pin drop would sound like a thunderclap from Thor at this moment in time.

"So....you like both boys and girls?" Stu asked. Tommy tried to decipher the look on his dads face.

"Y-yeah" Tommy murmured.

"How do you know that? You're only fourteen?" Didi asked. She put her shaking hand on Tommy's shoulder. "I think you're confused Honey"

Tommy could feel the already developed pit in his stomach just getting larger and larger.

"I've had a girlfriend mom and sometimes when I'm around boy's I get that same butterfly feeling in my chest. I know I'm not c-"

"In my parenting guide book it says tha-"

"If that stupid book told you to jump off a cliff would you?" Tommy spat. The anger and annoyance he was feeling was slowly rising. "I thought you would be happy for me telling you! Most kids are beyond afraid to tell their parents because of this right here!"

"Thomas Malcolm Pickles! How dare you raise your voice at me! You are too young to be delving into this! Go to your room! You're grounded till I see fit!"

"And I thought I was your pride and joy! That I was perfect in every way? Guess I wasn't!"

Tommy grabbed a kitchen chair and threw it over and sprinted to his room, tears streaming down his face. Stomp. Stomp. STOMP. Tommy threw himself up the stairs and slammed his door shut and immediately fell to the ground.

"I should have know better....I knew she would mention that stupid book...." Tommy whimpered. Tommy crawled into bed, wrapping himself in his covers. He normally wasn't one to overreact, but he was a teenager trying to be and discover himself and his own mother throwing all his confidence aside. Tommy buried his face into his pillow, tears still slowly flowing as he hoped this nightmare would be over soon.

Chapter 8: Run Away

Chapter Text

The Next Day

"You gotta spill it Chuckie" Kimi said. "How are you asking Tommy out?"

Kimi was sitting on Chuckie's bed while he was busy pacing. He knew he was going to ask Tommy this summer, but how? Tommy was a super special boy, so he deserved and equal way to be asked out. Did Chuckie take Tommy out to a fancy restaurant? No, Tommy really didn't care about fancy food, he would be just as happy with frozen pizza.

"Maybe a concert?" Chuckie suggested. "I'm sure there is a band he likes that might be touring around here this summer"

"I think that would be cute!" Kimi responded. "We should look online when we get a chance, what are you guys doing today?"

"I don't know yet, Tommy hasn't texted me back yet. I was thinking about maybe going to the mall and getting a new game to play"

The siblings were interrupted by Chuckie's phone vibrating around his desk. Chuckie walked over and picked up the phone.

"Dil? Whats going on?" Chuckie answered. Kimi watched as Chuckie went completely pale. "What do you mean he's missing? What happened last night?" Tommy did what? We will find him..."

"W-what happened?"

"Tommylefthomelastnightaftertellinghisparentsheisbiandhismomalmostdisownedhim...." Chuckie struggled to say. The tears in his eyes slowly forming.

"Slower Chuckie...what happened?"

"Tommy ran away...." The dam broke as tears poured from Chuckie's eyes. Never in his life would he think Tommy would run away. "He didn't even come here..."

Kimi immediately called Lil and told her about what had happened and the word quickly spread through the kids group along with the parents. Chuckie had his face buried in his hands. He jumped as he felt a hand rest on his shoulder. He looked up and it was Kimi.

"Don't worry, we will find him"

The Previous Night

Yup, he really was going to do this. Tommy had his backpack packed with some clothes, some snacks a few changes of clothes and his phone charger. He quietly shut is door and tiptoed down the stairs. He got to the door, but the second thoughts started coming in.

"No, I need to do this" Tommy muttered to himself. He slowly opened the door and with one more breath, walked outside into the dark and closed and locked the door behind him. The cold night breeze ruffled his hair. Tommy thought about what to do next. Maybe head down to the Java Lava and met up with his friends in the morning. He adjusted his backpack and made his way the cold, yet slightly warm California night. Tommy was considered to be pretty brave, but even he was checking his back every now and then. Going out where you lived your whole life during the day, to most people they wouldn't bat and eye, but at night, it was a whole other ball game. His steps echoed off the skyscrapers and glass buildings an a small group of teenagers caught his eye, mostly because the blonde head of hair was unmistakable.

"Angelica? What is she doing out here" Tommy asked himself. As Tommy got closer he noticed some other familiar faces. The same kids from the mall. A gulp was emitted from his throat and he slowly kept walking forward, doing his best to avoid the older kids. Just as Tommy was making his way by what apparently was a few vans parked with music playing and the kids and Angelica broke away and were heading in his direction. He quickly ducked behind a trash can as he could barely make out what they were saying.

"You sure you don't want any Angelica?" one of them asked. Angelica forced a chuckle out in response.

"Nah, I appreciate the offer, but that's so, cliche" she responded. "So you guys can have it all, I need to be going soon anyway"

As Angelica turned around Tommy slipped a little and caused the boy to bump a metal trash can. This caused the small group to turn around and catch a flash of Tommy's hair.

"Its the fat boy!" one of them exclaimed. "Let's get him!"

Tommy gasped and bolted as the other boys took of in pursuit.

"Pickles?" is all she could get out as she watched the group take off after him. "I gotta see this"
She snuck behind them as they ripped up the street. Tommy was doing everything he could to try and lose them, but it was no use, they were faster. Tommy tried thinking about what to do, but he had never been in a situation like this, ever. Tommy sighed and stopped in his tracks. If he wanted these punks to stop, he had to stand up for himself. He closed his eyes and took a deep inhale and waited for the foot steps to get closer. Stomp. Stomp. STOMP. Tommy opened his eyes and clenched his fist and spun around felt his fist connect with a jaw. Tommy opened his eyes and saw his tormentor on the ground , withering in pain. The other kids stopped in their tracks.

"What? How about you guys just leave me alone. I've just ran away from home and this is the last thing I need right now" Tommy said flatly. They just growled as they lifted their ring leader up. He watched as the bruised and busted face met his.

"Yeah, lets leave this fag alone. If I was his parents I wouldn't want a fat fag as a son either" he spat. Tommy stuck his tongue out and made his way to the Java Lava and sat down on a bench in front. Once he felt the bench beneath him he finally could relax. Tommy went to check his phone, but frowned as he realized it was dead. Tommy leaned back against the building and slowly started to doze off. After who knows how long he heard a somewhat familiar voice.

"Tommy? I think that's your name at least, what are you doing out here"

Tommy stirred and cocked one eye open and saw that girl from the doctors office.

"Wendy?" Tommy yawned. "What are you doing here?"

"I should ask you the same thing. Why are you sleeping out here"

"Just, uh, waiting to get into the Java Lava"

"It doesn't open for another few hours. I was out with my mom but I saw you so I told her I had to step away for a moment. Whats going on?

"Nothing, I, just uh, who am I kidding" Tommy sighed. "I ran away from home last night..."

"What happened?"

"I, uh, told my parents that I was Bi and my mom didn't approve...in the slightest"

Wendy sat down next to Tommy and placed a hand on his shoulder. Tommy could slowly feel the tears start to roll down his soft cheeks.

"I'm so sorry Tommy. I can only imagine what that must have felt like..." she consoled. "I know parents might not understand, but you have to give them time. I should know, I much prefer girls to boys and it took my mom a long time to accept it"

"Oh really? Did you two not speak for awhile?"

"Yeah, we did kinda avoid each other for a few days, but one day she asked to come into my room and we sat down and had a little talk, and the next thing I know she was more and more ok with my decision. If you don't mind me asking, is there a certain someone that made you feel this way? I mean there must"

"yeah...my best friend Chuckie...he has been really trying to get me to feel happy in my skin after putting on weight and when its just the two of us together the world feels....pretty much perfect"

"That sounds like an amazing friend, I'll have to meet him one day" she smiled. The two of them begun to laugh when a all to familiar voice with so much raw emotion that made Tommy jolt up.

"Tommy!"

Chapter 9: Found

Chapter Text

Before Tommy could look up he was practically thrown off the bench as Chuckie leaped at him and squeezed him tightly. That's all it took for the dam to burst. Tommy slammed his eyes shut as the waterworks started. The two boys embraced as Wendy watched and smiled.

"you two will be great for each other" she smiled. "Remember what we talked about Tommy, keep your head up ok?"

Tommy turned to her and gave a quick nod. Tommy leaned into Chuckie as he watched Wendy walk back over to her mom.

"How did you find me" Tommy asked while wiping his face. Chuckie offered his sleeve which Tommy accepted.

"I was just hoping I would find you here...everyone else is looking for you...I just hoped you would be here..." Chuckie whimpered and wrapped himself around Tommy. "Please don't scare me like that...at least warn me..."

Tommy blushed as his heart beat started to get rapid as Chuckie spoke. Chuckie kept talking and as he got up Tommy reached for his hand. Chuckie looked back, face as red as his hair. He helped Tommy up and the two boys held hands as they made their way back to Chuckie's house. Chuckie texted the group and told them he found him and that they were heading back to his house as the boys made their way.

"What exactly happened?" Chuckie asked while they walked. "I never ever thought you would run away from home"

"Um, well, uh" Tommy stuttered. "Can I tell you at your house? I feel kinda weird right now"

Chuckie nodded as the rounded a few more corners and Chuckie's house was now in sight. Just as the door was unlocked the two were jumped by the rest of their group.

"Don't scare us like that!"

"Tommy thank god you're safe!"

"Bro I never thought you would run away! What was it like?"

Chuckie could see Tommy was getting overloaded and intervened.

"I think we should give him some space, especially with his parents arriving soon"

"Yeah...thanks though guys, I'm so sorry I made you all worry..."

Chuckie guided Tommy upstairs as Kimi distracted the rest of the group. Tommy entered Chuckie's room and sat on the bed as he reached for a water bottle in his backpack.

"Can you tell me now?" Chuckie asked, feeling a little bad about pushing it. Tommy took a large swig of water and sighed.

"I'm, um, I'm Bi Chuckie" Tommy stuttered. Tommy was expecting some kind of response at least, but he looked over and Chuckie was just blinking. "Um, earth to Chuckie?"

"So you like girls and boys" Chuckie whispered. Tommy almost thought he could almost hear excitement in his best friends whisper. Just as Tommy was going to respond the door slammed open and it was Kimi.

"They're here Tommy" Kimi frowned. Tommy sighed and got up with Chuckie right behind him. As the teens made their way down stairs Chuckie moved in front of Tommy as the rounded the stairwell and there was Stu and Didi Talking to Chaz and Kira. Stu and Didi noticed Chuckie and just behind him. Chuckie could feel Tommy tense up as he gently moved Chuckie aside. To his surprise, his mom and dad ran up to him and pulled him into a group hug.

"Oh my goodness you're safe" Didi said with a clear sigh of relief. Stu ruffled Tommy's hair and wrapped his arm around him.

"I want to apologize sport. I should have spoken up when we had that discussion. Your mother and I had a long talk last night and I want you to know how much we love you Tommy" Stu said. He coaxed Didi into saying her piece, which even Tommy noticed the unsureness in her eyes.

"Tommy...I'm sorry..." she whimpered. "I don't really understand this whole Bi thing...but you're my baby boy. The single greatest thing to ever happen to me...and you trusted us enough to tell us something so important and I was a horrible mother"

Tears rolling down her face as she gently held Tommy's face in her hands. Tommy gently wrapped his arms around his mom. His own tears starting to pour.

"I'm sorry I ran away mom....I know it wasn't my wisest decision ever..." Tommy trailed off as his mom hugged him once more.

"Its fine Tommy, and you're not grounded anymore, lets go home and maybe you can get me caught up on all of this LGBTQ news"

Tommy nodded and gave his friends a wave and followed his parents out the front door. Everyone else left as Chuckie went up to his room where to his surprise his phone was lit up with a notification from tommy.

"Thanks Chuckie :)" it read. Chuckie sighed happily and flopped on his bed. Time to figure out how to ask his best friend out.

Chapter 10: A Best Friend Date?

Chapter Text

The Next Day

Phil: Did you know Tommy was bi?

Chuckie: Of course not! It never crossed my mind!

Chuckie tossed his phone on the bed as he gently kicked his legs as he was deep in thought.

"Chuckie!" Kimi yelled while knocking on his door.

"Come in!" Chuckie hollered in response. Kimi walked into the room, holding something behind her back.

"Guess what came in" she smirked and shook an envelope. Chuckie gasped and bolted up.

"The tickets!" Chuckie squeaked. "And its only a few days away!"

"I know! So, are you?" Kimi asked with a flick of her brow.

"I will try..." Chuckie sighed. Chuckie gestured Kimi to leave and after letting out a playful sigh she left the room.

Chuckie: What are you doing Tommy?

Tommy: Just trying to figure out my wardrobe and, um, its not going well

Chuckie: Want me to come over as a second set of eyes?

Tommy: Um, I mean not right now, but you can come over later

Chuckie had already put his phone away and grabbed his backpack.

"Bye dad, going over to Tommy's" Chuckie said as he grabbed the door handle.

"Ok Chuckie, you two be good now" Chaz chuckled a little. Chuckie's face flashed red and quickly exited the house and made his way to Tommy's. The walk was uneventful, but peaceful and after a few he made his way up Tommy's front steps and knocked on the door. After a moment the click of the door locks could be heard and the door slowly opened.

"Oh, hey Chuckie" Dil said. "Guessing you're here for T?"

"Yeah" Chuckie responded and entered the familiar space. He took of his shoes and made his way up the carpeted stairs. At the top he was greeted by Tommy's enter at your own risk sign. This always made Chuckie chuckle. He placed his hand on the doorknob and opened the door.

"Hey Tom-" Chuckie was interrupted by something hitting his face.

"Oh my god! I-I'm so sorry Chuckie!" Tommy yelled. Chuckie shook his head and looked up and blushed as he was greeted by Tommy's deep belly button as apparently he burst out of a button up.

"I-its ok" Chuckie assured. He tried continuing the sentence, but he was to busy staring at his crushes belly. Tommy did his best to cover up and lightly scolded Chuckie.

"Chuckie! I told you not until later! This is so embarrassing!" Tommy groaned and buried his face in his arms. "I can't believe this happened"

"I'm sorry Tommy, I guess I didn't see the message. And please don't be embarrassed Tommy" Chuckie reassured him. Tommy's face flashed red and quickly changed out of his busted button up and grabbed a Reptar T-shirt and put it on.

"S-so what brought you over?" Tommy asked. Chuckie smiled and took of his backpack and rummaged through it.

"I got us these!" Chuckie exclaimed as a whipped out the concert tickets. "Tickets to Imagine Dragon's!"

"Wow!" Tommy's eyes glistened as he eyed the tickets. "How did you get them?"

"I had some extra money left over and I kinda wanted us to do something fun this summer" Chuckie couldn't hide is bit of a blush. Tommy jolted up and gave Chuckie a massive hug.

"This is gonna be so awesome Chuckie!" Tommy said delightedly. "When is it?"

"In two days" Chuckie smiled. "So we should plan what outfits we are gonna wear!"

The two boys high fived and after discussing the attire situation Chuckie said goodbye and made his way back home and before he could get into his room Kimi swiftly blocked his door.

"YOU need to practice" She teased.

"Practice what?" Chuckie cocked his eye.

"Asking out your little crush, duh. Let's go in your room so you can show me what material you got"

Chuckie gulped as they walked into his room and he began to fiddle with his glasses as Kimi graciously sat down on his bed.

"I, um, I-" Chuckie stuttered. Kimi face palmed and got up.

"We got some work to do" she sighed. As Kimi was busy teaching Chuckie how to ask someone out, Tommy was also brushing up his skills.

"Chuckie, I, uh, I've been wanting to tell you this, but I, uh, I really like you and I was hoping we could be boyfriends?" Tommy quietly said in his bedroom mirror. Tommy sighed and paced around the room. "That's not going to do it"

The teen sighed and flopped onto his bed, face buried into his pillow. If he was going to pronounce his love to his crush, a concert, let alone one involving one of their favorite bands. A final sigh was released as he pushed himself over onto his back and stared up into the ceiling. Maybe he was overthinking? He knew Chuckie just as much as he knew himself and maybe. just maybe, this whole thing will be so much simpler. Giving it on more shot he got up and looked back into the mirror. Seeing his soft round face caused the self consciousness come back, but he shook it off and stared into the mirror.

"Chuckie, you have been my best friend since I was born. You make me feel so happy and hopefully I make you feel the same. I really like you Chuckie, more than just a best friend, will you go out with me Chuckie?"

Tommy let out a much more relaxed sigh. That felt at least a little more like it. He quickly got changed into pajamas and texted Chuckie.

Tommy: Seriously Chuckie, this is gonna be so much fun!

Chuckie: IK! It will be nice just being the two of us for once

Tommy: I know, I can't remember the last time it was just two of us, but I'm gonna get some sleep, night Chuckie!

Chuckie: Night Tommy :)

Day Of Concert

"Chuckie! Susie is here and you gotta hurry!" Kimi yelled from the base of the stairs. Chuckie hurried and grabbed his wallet and phone and tumbled his way down the stairs. He quickly got up and adjusted his glasses as he didn't want to keep Tommy waiting, so Chuckie bolted out the door and opened up the back door to Susie's van and adjusted his Imagine Dragon's shirt as they took off to Tommy's.

"Ride's here Tommy!" his mom said behind his bedroom door. Tommy quickly looked over his fit in the mirror and blushed a little and quickly grabbed his red hoodie and made his way out the door. He made his way outside to the minivan that was waiting him. Chuckie was waving from the back seat and Tommy smiled and opened the sliding door.

"Just in time Tommy" Chuckie smiled. Tommy placed his hand on Chuckie's shoulder and smiled.

"Yeah, let's just have fun tonight, no outside noise, just two best friends enjoying their favorite band"

"I couldn't say it any better, Tommy: he smiled. After an hour long drive, thanks to LA traffic, Susie was finally in the long line of cars waiting to be parked.

"I wonder if I can just drop you two off" Susie asked as she inched forward. She managed to flag down a staff member and luckily, she could just drop the boys off and pick them back up later.

"You two have fun ok?" she smiled and winked. The boys waved and slid open the rear door and hopped out. The boys smiled at each other and stayed close as they made their way through the crowds. They wondered through the crowd, trying to find the merch stand.

" Do you see it Tommy?" Chuckie asked as he struggled to see through the crowd. Tommy stood on his tippy toes, surprised that Chuckie, who was significantly taller couldn't see it. Tommy just happened to notice a flash of a Merchandise sign and quickly pointed.

"There! I saw it!" he yelled over the crowd noise. Tommy grabbed Chuckie's hand and pulled the taller boy through the crowd.

"Get your tour only merch here!" the man bellowed from behind the merch counter. His eyes browsed over the crowd when he noticed the two kids making their way over. "Anything that tickles your fancy boy's?"

"Um, that shirt up there, oh and that hat too" Tommy pointed at the sales display. The man behind the counter smiled and reached up and grabbed the two articles of clothing.

"What about you?" he turned and asked Chuckie. Chuckie was looking long and hard at the items for sale. Chuckie shook his head and got similar items to Tommy. After he handed the man the cash the two boys made their way to the main area.

"Where are our seats Chuckie?" Tommy asked, trying to avoid being bumped by other concert goers. "I know concerts can be crazy expensive"

Chuckie had a rather surprising smirk on his face and placed his hand on Tommy's shoulder.

"Let's just say we are in the first five rows" he smirked and winked. Tommy gasped and was grinning ear to ear. The two sprinted through the crowd, making sure to stay close to each other. Tommy held onto the back of Chuckie's shirt as they glided through the crowd to their row. "I wonder who the opening act is going to be?" Tommy asked as more and more people entered the main auditorium. "I'm not too sure Tommy, to be honest I've been trying to think who it might be" and as if on queue the stage lights flashed on. "Ladies and gentlemen, before Imagine Dragon's takes the stage we have an amazing opening act! They are a rising star from Ottawa Canada, it's TALK!" Tommy looked over at Chuckie, trying to read if he had heard of this band before. The crowd cheered as the band took the stage. A heavier set man walked up to the microphone and spoke. "Hello everybody my name is TALK. The song I'm going to play for you just came out a week ago. I wrote it because I didn't like what I saw in the mirror and I struggle with that still, so it's a reminder to love myself a little bit more. I think it's something everybody could do, so please enjoy." Those words echoed throughout Tommy's brain as the mesmerizing tune of an acoustic guitar played.

Old, old souls
Don't know they're old
Until they're on the edge
Trying to process the loss of old friends

Scars, old scars I keep in jars
Collect them like a badge
Won't forget the past
Those old, old friends

Turns out all of my highs are making love to my lows
Making fun of my boundaries, sticks, and stones
You say "Love", I believe it to the bone

Tommy slowly turned to gaze up at his crush, phone out, flash on and slowly waving it in the air, red hair bobbing without a care in the world. Seeing Chuckie let himself out of his shell, even the slightest was always a sight to see. Tommy let out the softest sigh. He finally started to relax and unwind and enjoy the show.

If I could see how you see me
I could be a little bit happy
And through your eyes I realize
I could be a little bit happy
Ah, ah, ah, a little bit happy
Ah, ah, ah, a little bit happy

Tommy wasn't the only one glancing at his crush. Chuckie was taking every other chance he could to glance over at the short and soft boy standing next to him. Seeing Tommy finally relax a little bit with the stress from school and all the ups and downs of the year, all Chuckie could do was let out an imaginary sigh of relief, well, a sigh he thought was imaginary.

Cold, so cold
Even tippy's birds went home
But I'm still standing here counting all my tears
Trying to feel what you felt for years
Turns out all of my highs are making love to my lows
Making fun of my boundaries, sticks, and stones
You say "Love", I believe it to the bone

Chuckie slowly placed his arm around Tommy’s waist and turned him. Chuckie couldn't help himself and gave the belly a squeeze. His face immediately flashed red when he realized what he had done and he slammed his eyes shut, while just as he retracted his arm to cover his face he felt it get tugged back into place. Chuckie slowly opened one eye and to his surprise Tommy pulled Chuckie's arm back to his waist, also with a face so red as Chuckie's own hair. “S-sorry about that Tommy...I-I don't know what came over me...” Chuckie whimpered. Tommy, with his other hand, reached up and cupped Chuckie’s freckled face. “It’s ok Chuckie. I, um, noticed how much you were looking at it when I, uh, had that incident. I-I plan on trying to lo-” Tommy was shushed by a finger pressed against his lips. “Tommy...I, uh, y-you, ARGH! Tommy, you’re perfect how you are... you're so caring, cute, kind and I-i-”
“I love you!” both boy’s exclaimed. “Really?” Chuckie asked. Tommy nodded as the boys did their best to hear each other through the crowd. “I do Chuckie. To be honest, I’ve felt this way for a while, but I, um, just didn’t know how to say it.” Chuckie’s tongue was tied so he just nodded frantically. “I-i’ve felt the same way! To be honest...it was ever since you dated Rachel, b-but enough about the past! You’re just the most amazing person, so adorable, kind and caring!” Tommy bashfully looked down. “You’re the amazing one Chuckie. You’ve been doing your best to make me feel better in my skin, and I couldn’t ask for a better best friend.”
Chuckie wrapped his arm around the smaller boy and the two of them gently swayed as the crowd started to sing.

If I could see how you see me
I could be a little bit happy
And through your eyes I realize
I could be a little bit happy

Ah, Ah, Ah
A little bit happy
Ah, Ah, Ah
A little bit happy

With the concert coming to a close, Tommy and Chuckie made their way through the crowd, holding hands. “There are too many people” Chuckie mumbled. Tommy nodded and adjusted so they would streamline through the massive crowd towards the front of the stadium. Just before they made it out, Chuckie tugged on Tommy’s hand and they left the crowd to find a brief moment of peace and quiet. “Um, before Suzie picks us up, I, um, wanted to ask you something.” Chuckie gulped, finicking with his collar. “Of course Chuckie, what did you want to ask?” Tommy asked, tilting his head slightly, a slight smirk forming. Chuckie took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “Could we be more than best friends?” After moments of silence Chuckie felt his hands begin to move and the next thing he knew they met something soft and slowly opened a single eye. He was greeted with his hands cupping Tommy’s soft face in his hands, smiling. “Yes Chuckie, I want to be more than best friends with you.”

The moment was slightly interrupted as Tommy’s phone vibrated. He reached into his pocket and the screen flashed with Suzie’s name. “Hey, are you guys on your way out?” Suzie asked as Tommy did his best to listen as the crowd passed by. “Y-yeah Suzie, just fighting through traffic right now!” Tommy yelled into the microphone. “Sorry for yelling, it’s so loud in here!” Suzie chuckled in response. “It’s all good haha, I’m first in the pick up line!”
Tommy hung up the phone and grabbed Chuckie’s hand and the two boy’s made their way through the never ending crowd. After what felt like an eternity, they made it outside and out of the corner of his eye, Tommy noticed the familiar shape of Suzie’s minivan. “How was it boy’s?” Suzie shouted as the two concert goers ran in her direction. “It was amazing!” Chuckie screeched in response. “They were really great” Tommy smiled. “Their opening act was also amazing, Especially his song A Little Bit Happy.”
Chuckie nodded in agreement and he reached for the handle and slid the backdoor and gestured to Tommy. “Um, Tommy, did you, um, want to sleep over?” Chuckie asked in an almost pleading tone. Tommy thought to himself for a moment as they both sat down in the vans backseat. Tommy reached for his phone and fired off a couple texts.

Tommy: Is Kimi going to be home? What if she catches us?

Chuckie: oh...I forgot about that....maybe your house?

Tommy: We can’t...Dil has some friends over for his motivational speaking stuff...

“Let me ask Kimi what she’s doing” Chuckie muttered out loud.

“I think she’s sleeping over at Lil’s tonight.” Suzie chimed in. She smirked as both boy’s exhaled out of excitement. “I’ll ask my mom Chuckie” Tommy smiled as he tapped away at his phone. After a few moments they got the response they hoped for. “All I have to do is get a change of clothes” Tommy chirped. Chuckie smiled in agreement. “You should probably let your mom and dad know.”

“I will Tommy” Chuckie sighed and gave Tommy’s shoulder a playful shove. As the group made their way onto the highway, Chuckie texted his parents while Suzie and Tommy commented on the driving habits of Los Angeles.

Chuckie: Hey dad, can Tommy sleepover?

Dad: Of course Chuckie. Was there anything you two wanted for dinner?

Chuckie: Pizza should be fine. Is Kimi sleeping over at Lil’s?

Dad: She is yes, and we’ll make sure it’s here for you guys. Did you do the thing?

Chuckie: What thing?

Dad: You know, you and Tommy?

Chuckie: DAD

Tommy glanced over and to see his orange haired boyfriend burying his face into his hands. “You ok Chuckie?” Tommy asked, while gently lifting Chuckie’s head from his hands. “Yeah....just family stuff...” Chuckie sighed. “But, uh, never mind that. Let’s watch some youtube till we get to your house.”

After what felt like forever, Suzie pulled into Tommy’s driveway and just as Tommy went to unbuckle, Chuckie quickly unbuckled and reached for the door. “You stay here Tommy, I’ll get your stuff.” quipped Chuckie. Tommy raised an eyebrow in response. “Uh, Ok Chuckie.”

Chuckie shut the van door and dashed and knocked on Tommy’s front door. “Coming!” yelled the familiar voice of Tommy’s mom Didi. After a moment the door clicked open and Chuckie was greeted by a very familiar face. “Why hello Chuckie, where’s Tommy?” Didi smiled. “Oh, he's still in the van, I told him I could get his stuff.” Chuckie answered. “Oh that's right, he’s sleeping over isn’t he? Well, you know where all his things are. I do apologize, his room is a mess.” Didi sighed. Chuckie nodded and made his way inside, to be honest, Chuckie felt like he could do this blindfolded. Chuckie bolted up the stairs and as he made his way to Tommy’s room, the unmistakable bellow of his younger brother's voice. “Gentlefellows! I gathered you all here today to guide you in the ways of motivational speaking!” Dil’s voice echoed throughout the upstairs portion of the house. Reaching for Tommy’s doorknob and even Chuckie was shocked at the state of disarray of Tommy;s room. “Guess I’ll have to help him tidy up a bit” Chuckie murmured to himself as he started grabbing clothes and throwing them into the hamper. As the great clothes toss continued, Chuckie stumbled across exactly what he was looking for. It was Tommy’s Reptar pajamas. Chuckie felt his face heat up and he quickly found a travel bag and he stuffed them inside, then quickly grabbed day clothes, zipped up the bag and made his way out of Tommy’s room, grabbed his toothbrush from the bathroom and made his way downstairs. “Did you find everything Chuckie?” the familiar voice of Stu Pickles. “Uh, yes sir” Chuckie stammered. Chuckie turned to his left and saw Stu relaxing in his recliner. “You know you don’t have to sir me Chuckie” Stu chuckled. “You boys have a good night” stu waved. Chuckie smiled and made his way to the front door, making sure it was locked. He made his way to the van and slid the door open and sat down and slid into the seat. “Um, Chuckie?” Tommy’s soft voice filled Chuckie’s ears. “Why did you have to grab my things?” Tommy asked. All Chuckie could do was shrug his shoulders and just spoke gibberish. “I, uh, um, Wa-no, I wanted too, ah I give up” Chuckie struggled to form a sentence. Tommy chuckled and rested his arm on Chuckie’s shoulder.

*WARNING*

After a short drive Suzie dropped the boy’s off at Chuckie’s house.”You boys have fun ok?” Suzie smiled at the boys as they slid the backdoor of her van closed. “We will!” they said in unison. Before either of them took a step towards the door they heard it click and out came Chuckie’s dad Chaz. “Hey boys! We just ordered your pizza and there are plenty of snacks!” Chaz smiled and gestured towards the door. “Thanks dad” Chuckie said as he guided Tommy into the house and up to his room. “Sooo what now?” Tommy asked as he plopped himself on
Chuckie’s bed. “Um, maybe we should just get comfy and watch a movie?” Chuckie suggested. “Sounds like a plan to me” Tommy smiled. “You got all my stuff right?”
“It's all there Tommy, I'll get changed in the bathroom ok?” Chuckie asked while grabbing his pajamas. Tommy nodded, so Chuckie went to the bathroom to get comfortable and just as he put his shirt on he heard Tommy screech. “Chuckie!” Chuckie realized WHAT Tommy was yelling about and his face immediately heated up and slowly dragged his feet to his bedroom. He reached the door and took a deep breath and entered. “I know Tommy I’m s-” Chuckie started to say until he looked up off the floor. Tommy’s pajama shirt was even smaller now, allowing Chuckie to see even more his bestfri-no his boyfriend's belly. “Why did you grab THESE pajamas?” Tommy groaned. “I’ve gotten even FATTER since I last wore this!” Tommy slumped onto the bed, face buried into his hands. Chuckie thought he heard faint whimpers coming from his soft boyfriend. Chuckie took a deep breath and decided it was now or never. “I think you’re absolutely perfect Tommy.” Chuckie said softly. “What did you say?” Tommy sniffled. “Remember what we talked about at the concert? You’re absolutely perfect, mister.” Chuckie blushed and hesitated for a moment before sitting next to Tommy and gently squeezing his soft belly. “I love everything about you, and to be honest, I-I think you look amazing Tommy.” Chuckie whispered, mesmerized by Tommy’s softness. “Y-you have no idea how cute you are. Your soft belly, chubby arms are perfect to rest your head on.” Chuckie rambled as he gently traced a finger along one of Tommy’s very subtle stretch marks on his tummy and gently squeezed his bicep. “And then there is the best part, your soft angelic face, those squeezable cheeks, that adorable double chin, and those beautiful eyes.” Chuckie whispered as he once again traced his finger from Tommy’s bicep until he felt his hand rest against Tommy’s chin and Chuckie lifted his head to meet a very flustered Tommy. “C-chuckie...” Tommy trailed off, his face as red as Reptar’s flames. Chuckie immediately felt his face heat up and gently cupped Tommy’s soft face in one hand while grabbing his soft love handles. Tommy felt his heart racing, his hatred for his body had been growing strong since the school year started, yet here he was, he was being pampered by his crush, who was praising the same body that Tommy hated. Maybe this ISN’T a bad thing. Tommy thought to himself. He was gearing up to speak when he felt a pair of soft lips connect with his. Just as quickly as they met his lips they pulled away. “I’m sorry Tommy! I-I shouldn’t have done that!” Chuckie whimpered and buried his face into his hands. The sudden release of Tommy’s love handle caused his belly to softly wobble back into place, reigniting the redness on Tommy’s face.

*OVER*

“I liked it though”

“Really?”

“Would I lie to you?”

“Considering you’re not blinking like crazy I believe you.” Both boys chuckled. “D-did you want to do it again?” Chuckie asked, almost pleading. “I guess we could, we are boyfriends right?” Tommy answered. Just as the boy’s leaned back in for another kiss, Chuckie’s door slammed open.

“OMG!” Shouted two all too familiar voices. Both boys gasped as Chuckie did his absolute best to cover up Tommy with a blanket. “Kimi! Lil! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM!” Chuckie shrieked as the girls shut the door and were practically bursting with excitement. “I CANNOT BELIEVE WE FINALLY HAVE A GAY COUPLE IN OUR SCHOOL!” Lil Squeaked, clapping her hands together rapidly. “And one of them is my brother!” Kimi chimed in. Tommy and Chuckie sat there stunned at the display in front of them. “Um guy’s, I mean girls, we are right here” Tommy practically whispered. The girls paid zero attention to this and moved to the front of the bed and sat down. “There is gonna be so much to do! We’ll have to set them up with a new wardrobe, I wonder who is top and who is the bottom” Kimi rambled on. “What are you talking about?” Both boys said in unison. “Um, tbh they are still our friends so I don’t think i want to think about that” Lil shook her head. “OH! What’s their ship name? It could be tuckie, or chommy?”

“Not really feeling those, maybe tokie?”

“Touckie?”

“Tomie?”

“How about tomkie?” Kimi suggested. “I think it has a nice ring to it.”

“I agree” Lil smiled. “This is still so exciting!

“We are still here!” Chuckie growled. “Could you at least knock before you storm into my room!” The girls, once again, didn't really pay much attention to the very upset redheads' comments. “Who asked first?” the girls pleaded. Chuckie just glared and Tommy did his best to ease the situation. “We, uh, kinda asked at the same time?” Tommy shrugged, “How did it make you two feel?” Kimi asked, eyes practically beaming. “It was-” Tommy started to say until Chuckie blurted out. “It felt amazing! I-I finally felt like I could be myself around Tommy!” Chuckie let out a content sigh. Tommy couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. “The only thing that's gonna be different is that we will be holding hands now, you’ve ALWAYS been yourself around me Chuckie.”

“This is so cute!” Lil squeaked. “We gotta tell Phil and Suzie!” Just as Lil pulled out her phone, Tommy, Chuckie and Kimi all gasped. “No!” they shouted. “If anything Lil, THEY should be the ones to let them know.” Kimi said. “Ok....I guess that makes sense.” Lil sighed. “Oh, and sorry for barging in” Lil lamented while gently tapping her fingers together. “Oh it’s ok Lil” Tommy reassured her. “I’m sure that’s a normal reaction” Tommy shrugged while letting out a little laugh to help lighten the mood. “Kids! Food is here!” Chaz hollered from the stairwell. “Yes! I’m starving!” Lil cheered and headed to the door. “I”m sorry too Chuckie, especially since I knew Tommy liked you too, but I couldn’t help but be excited for you” Kimi apologized and turned to leave the room. “What?” Chuckie exclaimed. Tommy tossed the comforter off of himself and slid his legs off the bed. “Remember when I got bullied in the bathroom at the mall?” Tommy answered while doing his best to adjust his top. “Yup, when we brought him home that's when he asked me what to do if I was in love with my best friend.” Kimi said as she poked her head back inside the room, just in time to see Tommy struggling to tug his shirt down to cover his belly. “Love the look Tommy, it's nice seeing a plus sized boy have some confidence” Kimi winked. Chuckie couldn’t help but let out a giggle as Tommy’s face flashed as red as a christmas ornament.
