“Margo, did you see those new photos Gwen posted? She looks sooo pretty”
Miles says as he lays on his bed scrolling on instagram
This is a normal thing. A few months ago Miles and Margo moved in together, at first it was a joke because Miles' world somehow had more information on the content Margo wanted to major in so she started staying at Mile’s house but slowly it turned into a genuine opportunity for her to learn in Miles world.
Then one night while eating dinner with Miles family Miles mom asked the simple question
“So where do you study?”
She responded with a random school she had visited once, she didn’t even realize the enthusiasm in her voice when she talked about it. She didn’t even know she wanted to go there until Miles said the simple statement
“You know you could stay with me long term if you really wanted to go to school there”
That's what started it all. It took a little convincing and a IOU to Miguel but he found out a way to transfer the degree Margo was getting in Miles world to hers. It took them around a month to find a cheap apartment and jobs and then they were set.
They had been living like this for around 3 months and they were practically like siblings now so hearing Miles talk about Gwen was normal yet for some reason it always upsets her.
“Dude you talk about her all the time”
Margo groans as she heats up a bowl of ramen as plops next to him.
“And you always complain about it! What up with that i mean she’s objectively attractive even if you don’t like her”
Miles says typing something in as Margo starts talking.
“Well i don't have a problem with her its just-“
Margo starts before she is cut off with a photo of Gwen being shoved in her face for Margo to look at.
Gwen is pretty and more than objectively her eyes are stunning Margo could stare into them all day, her hair is almost always messily perfect, her smile makes Margo feel like she's on top of the world, her voice is soothing in a way Margo has never been able to figure out, she always smells like freshly washed clothes and strawberries, Gwen is magical to Margo.
Will she ever tell anyone that? no never not even in her nightmares does she admit to feeling this way.
Hell she doesn’t even know what she feels to the other girl half the time.
“I like Gwen she's nice and she pretty i just- i don’t know i feel weird when you talk about her like you like her”
Margo says it's not the full truth.
The full truth is every time she even thinks about Miles and Gwen liking each other she feels sick shes rationalized it as she just doesn’t want to see Miles hurt but there's a small part of her a minuscule part of her thinks that maybe it’s because she likes Gwen more.
“Oh? So you just get uncomfortable because I act like I like her?”
Miles asked with a smile on his face and before she can even reply he says with a laugh
“I don’t even like her like that Margo!”
That sentence is shocking to Margo, Miles talks about Gwen almost 24/7 it Gwen non stop constantly “Gwens so pretty” “Gwens so funny” “did you see that Gwen did *blank*” “i love Gwen man” it like all Miles talks about so he must be lying so she just stares at the boy in shock.
“Yea me and Gwen are just queer platonics! I swear I talked to you about this marg?”
Miles says looking at the girl who is just staring
“Miles you're telling me, you have not been dating or at least had a massive crush on Gwen?l”
Margo responded in absolute shock at what the boy was saying.
“Uh basically! I mean for a while I had a crush on her or I thought it was a crush, turns out a lot of it was gender envy to be honest.”
Miles explains a bit confused why Margo is in so much shock.
“So you and Gwen are not dating, and Gwen is single..”
Margo asks, realizing that all the times Gwen complained about having nobody she wasn’t just talking about to train with or anything.
“Yes we are not dating, and yes Gwen is single? What does that have to do with anything?”
Miles asks looking at the girl but she is no longer paying attention as soon as the confirmation that Gwen is single is said it's like a flood gate has been of thought has been unlocked.
Oh my god she's so pretty! Would she date me?Does she even like me?! I have been so mean to her! What if she hates me? Oh my god I want to date Gwen Stacy!
“Miles I think I like Gwen..” Margo says in shock looking at the boy before falling face down into the couch.
