Chapter Text

Clouds were puffing in the sky, turning darker; rain was on its way. “There they are,” mused Joker, watching from the rooftops down at Tsubomi and Mana, gathered in the park with their baby friends. “What say you, my love? Shall we give them a good dose of misery?”

“Of course.” Poisony stepped up to the edge of the roof. However, upon seeing Futaba and Ai-chan together, she stopped. She watched as the two infants played and laughed together. Normally, such acts would have no effect on someone as evil and impure of heart as Poisony, but for some reason, today she couldn’t bear to interrupt them.

“Poisony?” Joker prodded his belle. “Aren’t you going to attack, my queen?”

“Joker…” Poisony tightly gripped Joker’s hand. “I can’t do it.”

“You can’t?” Joker brought Poisony down from the ledge. “Why, whatever is the matter? Are you not well?"

"I…" Poisony wasn't quite sure how to explain. "Those babies…I saw something in their eyes that…made me stop." She squeezed her eyes shut. "I…I think I want a baby."

"A baby?" Joker was very surprised. "But Poisony, in the past you've been so adamant against having one."

"I know…" Poisony turned back. "But it's been on my mind for a while now, and seeing those two…I think I've finally changed my mind."

"Are you certain?" Joker wrapped his arms around his wife. "I don't want you to have changed your mind for anyone else but yourself."

"Yes…" Poisony began to swoon. "I do want a baby… a little one to hold and love forever. One who won't grow up faster than I'll be ready for."

Feeling a tender sort of love radiating from Poisony, Joker caressed her head. "I see… then I promise you, if it's a baby you want, it's a baby you'll get."

Back in the Bad End Kingdom, Poisony and Joker returned without having gathered any Bad Energy. “There you two are,” scolded Majorina. “Gone for so long, and you come back empty-handed? You better have a good excuse.”

“Oh, we do.” Joker called for everyone to come into the living room for a meeting. “Everyone…Poisony and I have made a very big decision. We’re going to have a baby.”

Everyone looked at each other. “A baby?” Wolfrun asked. “I thought Poisony hated babies.”

“I don’t hate babies,” snapped Poisony. “I’ve just been apprehensive about having one. In fact, I still am…sort of.”

Joker put a hand to her cheek. “We won’t do a thing until you’re ready.”

“You know…” Majorina approached the couple. “I have a spell that will allow you to have a baby without any of the pain that comes with it.”

“You do?” Poisony was intrigued.

“Why didn’t you say anything before?” Joker asked.

“I wanted you to come to me.” Majorina turned. “Like he said; it’s your choice. Just know that this spell could come with some unexpected consequences.”

Joker and Poisony looked at each other. Together, they came to a silent agreement. “Yes. We want this spell.”

“Good, good.” Majorina offered them a bottle containing a potion. “Take this before you start trying, and come see me after a month.”

Chapter Text

After a month of trying for their baby, Joker and Poisony came to see Majorina, exactly as she asked them to. “Alright,” said Majorina, brandishing her health wand, “my wand has been upgraded to double for ultrasounds. Let’s take a look.”

She waved the wand in front of the couple. The two shared an odd look; what on earth was she doing? However, soon the wand’s tip began to blink a bright green. Majorina grinned. “Well done.”

Poisony and Joker shared a warm, genuine smile and a passionate kiss. “You will be such a wonderful mother,” assured Joker. “Just like you are to our girls.”

“So, the side effects haven’t kicked in yet?” Majorina asked.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about when you say ‘side effects’,” said Poisony, “but I feel no different than I did when you gave us the potion.”

“Very well,” said Majorina. “They could appear at any time.” She twirled her wand. “They’re ultimately harmless, but I can’t promise you’ll exactly like them.”

But Joker and Poisony were no longer listening. They were delighted and excited for the impending arrival of their baby. “Come, my sweet,” Joker said as he took Poisony’s hand. “We should inform Yamiko and Maimiko of this news.”

Once their girls had both sat down in the living room, Joker and Poisony seated themselves opposite of them. “Girls, we have some news,” said Poisony gently. “We are going to have a baby.”

Yamiko nodded along as if she’d only been told that the weather was going to be nice that week, while Maimiko’s eyes widened with excitement. She pulled herself up onto the couch beside her mother. “Yes, my dear,” cooed Joker. “But I don’t want you to think for a second that we will care about the new child more than either of you. For you see, each of you is very special.”

“Indeed,” continued Poisony. “Yamiko, you came to us through shifting loyalty, and the decision that you wanted to be a part of our family. Maimiko, you were blessed to us from the evil gods of this world, who knew you belonged with us. And this child will be our own progeny, the mixture of two evil forces.”

“Yes, each one of you matters to us. We wouldn’t trade you for anything.” Joker invited his daughters closer. “And I know that you will both be wonderful sisters to the baby.”

Maimiko darted her head all around, then made a grab for any random voice in the lair. “How long do we have to wait?” She asked in Battamonda’s voice.

“The baby will be born in March,” confirmed Poisony. “It may seem like a long time to wait, but it will feel like a blur once she’s here.”

Maimiko turned to Yamiko. “Aren’t you excited?”

“I mean, yeah,” said Yamiko with a shrug.

Maimiko wasn’t impressed with the answer. Poisony put a hand on her shoulder. “She’ll need time for the news to sink in.”

Maimiko nodded along. Then she felt a harsh tap on her back. She turned around to see Battamonda, with an annoyed glare on his face. He pointed to his throat, non-verbally communicating “give it back”. Maimiko rolled her eyes, and returned his voice to him. He coughed a bit before speaking. “Yeah, that’s right, you little brat, don’t take my voice without asking.”

Chapter Text

One morning, Joker awoke to a very surprising sight; Poisony, while still as peaceful as she had been when they had gone to sleep, looked very different; her skin was no longer ashy and gray, instead a gentle peach, with a bit of pink. Her one exposed ear was rounded off instead of pointed. Holding her hand, he noticed how it no longer felt cold and bony; instead warm and soft, like holding onto a teddy bear. Whoever this person was, it was not his wife! He shouted in fright! “Who are you?!”

Poisony was startled awake. “Huh?” Once her vision was no longer bleary, she looked up at Joker and yelped. “What’s happened to you?!”

The two of them both fumbled for a mirror. In addition to the changes in Poisony’s appearance, Joker’s eyes were no longer black voids of nothingness, instead their natural yellow, even with the mask on his face, and his hair, once brightly coloured and wild, laid flat upon his head in a monochrome purple.

The two of them shared a glance. “We need to find Majorina.”

Majorina was in the living room with a cup of coffee and the latest issue of Evil Illustrated Magazine, when Poisony and Joker came bustling into the room. “Witch,” snarled Poisony, “is this the ‘unintended consequence’ of that potion?”

“Indeed it is.” Majorina took a sip. “I know you don’t like it, but becoming human means the potion worked as intended. You’re guaranteed to have a healthy baby.” She looked up and noticed Joker was in the room. “Wha- why are-? You weren’t supposed to drink the potion too, you idiot!”

“You gave us the bottle and told us to take it before we started trying for a baby,” said Joker defensively. “You never specified who was and was not supposed to drink it.”

“Oh, you-! Whatever.” Majorina flumped back down. “Have fun being without your powers for nine months, you dipshit.”

Poisony and Joker looked at each other, and Joker put his arms around his wife. “You’re still as beautiful as you always were.”

The two kissed, and Poisony sighed. “We won’t be much help to our kingdom in these forms.”

“Nonsense!” Majorina exclaimed. “You can still stand Bad Energy without succumbing to misery! You’ll be excellent spies! No one will know it’s you!”

“I suppose that’s true.” Poisony took Joker’s hand. “What say you? Shall we enjoy this time before our baby is born?”

“Indeed we shall.” Joker kissed her forehead. “Even in a weaker state, my love for you is strong.”

"What do you think, my dear?"

Joker had shut himself in his quarters for hours, and now finally invited Poisony inside to show her what he had been doing; he had sewn new clothing for them to wear in their human forms until the baby was born. He had dressed himself in a leather jacket with a matching belt, torn jeans, and black boots, and for Poisony, he made a loose-fitting black dress with a flowing skirt and attached cape.

"Why, it’s beautiful," cooed Poisony. "You're a wonderful tailor."

Once the two were both in their new outfits, they embraced, feeling passionate. "I know our baby loves the new look too," mused Poisony. "When I first tried it on, I felt a kick."

"You did?" Joker was amazed. "But it's only been six weeks. Isn't it too early?"

"Perhaps," said Poisony. "I'm not sure; it's my first pregnancy, I don't know at all what to expect."

"Very true." Joker ran a hand through his wife's hair. "Don't fret about it. Maybe our child is just special."

"Of course..." Poisony smiled. "We have nothing but special children."

"For real?" Wolfrun was stunned when he was informed that Joker and Poisony's baby was already kicking. "You're pulling my leg."

"Why would I lie about such a thing?" Poisony opened her arms. "Feel for yourself if you don’t believe me."

Kabaton stepped up; his hands were so big, they covered most of Poisony's front. However, he did indeed feel tiny jabs. "Yeah, she's not kidding us."

"She's being serious?" Battamonda came in for a go. Sure enough, he felt it too; in a familiar sort of form. "What the- did it just flip me off?"

Poisony scoffed, offended. "My child would never!"

"It would if it knew it was you out there," snorted Kabaton, earning a smack upside the head.

Chapter Text

Early one morning, Poisony awoke when Joker unconsciously put an arm around her, still asleep. She grinned as she nuzzled into the crook of his neck, feeling content and loved.

With the two bodies pressed together, Joker could feel when the baby began to kick. Once he got over the initial confusion of what that tiny poking was, he relaxed; he took it as a beautiful sign that their family was growing.

Until he began to notice a pattern in the kicking. "Poisony," he muttered, "I think our baby is trying to communicate with us."

"Hm?" Poisony moved over to her back and put her hands over her lower middle. To her surprise, she picked up on a message; the baby's kicks were in perfect Morse code. "Why, that's incredible. But how does she know that?"

"Morse code?" Joker asked. "I was already knowledgeable on it; it was a valuable skill for tormenting humans in the middle of the night." She smiled. "I suppose our baby has already inherited my intelligence."

Poisony stayed still, listening to the message. "She wants milk."

Almost on cue, the door creaked open, and on the other side was Maimiko, holding up a glass of milk for her mother. "Oh, you're such a darling," praised Poisony as she sipped on the drink.

Maimiko looked at her father for a moment. Joker conceded. "Very well; you may borrow my voice."

With that, Maimiko plucked Joker's voice from his throat so she could speak to her mother. "Will I be a good sister?"

"Why, of course, darling." Poisony and Joker brought their little girl close. "I just know you'll teach the little one how to be just as nasty as you and Yamiko."

Chapter Text

Lately, Maimiko had been watching the moon quite often. She had heard that she once came from up there, and so she looked every day for a sign that her baby sister would soon arrive.

One evening, warmed by the crackling fire, Poisony watched over her daughter. "Do you miss the moon, my raven?"

Maimiko cocked her head at her mother. She never remembered what the moon was like. Why didn't Mother understand?

"Come, sit, child." Poisony gestured for Maimiko to sit with her. When she nestled into the elegant red sofa, Maimiko looked at her mother's middle. Maimiko always knew Poisony to be sleek and slim, but recently she noticed that her abdomen seemed to be larger.

Indeed, Poisony had also noticed that her belly was starting to grow; a constant reminder of the life developing inside of her. When she saw Maimiko's little face, she began to understand. "This is where your baby sister lives," she explained, rubbing a small circle on her middle. "She absorbs nutrients from my body, like a parasite. And like most parasites, she's going to get bigger and bigger, until she's ready to burst free and into life. Doesn't that sound wonderful?"

Maimiko didn't quite believe it. She put her ear to her mother's middle, trying to listen for any noises the baby might make. She didn't hear anything, but she felt a little lump poke at her cheek. Poisony smiled coldly. "Yes, she likes you, my bitter one."

Maimiko pulled herself up into her mother's lap, snuggling in closely to feel more of those tiny jabs. Poisony held her daughter gently, grateful for her and the little one who would soon follow.

Chapter Text

Sickening. It was just so sickening, looking into a mirror and seeing a filthy, mortal human in the reflection. Joker could hardly stand it. "Bah," he muttered, "what is a human if not a hideous sack of meat, running on sugar and weak electricity?"

"Oh, enough with the griping," insisted Poisony, floating by in the long, flowing dress that Joker had sewn her. "It's for the sake of our baby. Besides, you know that once your power is restored, you'll be the perfect provider for our little Mukuro."

"Mukuro?" Joker asked. "Is that what you want to call her?"

"Of course." Poisony smiled evilly. "It's haunting. Deadly. And it fits perfectly with our other little girls."

"Yamiko, Maimiko, and Mukuro..." Joker mulled. "I like that." He dramatically flicked out cards between his fingers, fanning himself with them. "Mukurooooo~, my darling child~"

"Ah, you're in love with the name." Poisony ran a finger from Joker's forehead down to his lips before giving him a passionate kiss. However, when their lips parted, she felt a tiny finger drawing a line down the inside of her womb. Curious, she drew circles on her palm, and quickly, Mukuro responded by drawing her own little spiral. She couldn't help but giggle a little; it tickled.

"What are you laughing at?" Joker was confused.

"I think our Mukuro has learned a new trick," said Poisony. She allowed Joker to place his hands on her belly - something she rarely did anymore - and repeated the circling of her finger upon her palm. To Joker's amazement, he felt their baby drawing circles on the walls of her meaty prison. To any other parent, this would be concerning, and make them wonder what was wrong with their child. But to Poisony and Joker, it was bliss.

For this child was not human. She was a fusion of Bad and Dotsuku Energy, a hybrid between a wicked vampire and a heartless jester. Upon her first breath, she would awaken a new evil in the world that had never been seen before.

And every single Pretty Cure would be sorry for it.

Chapter Text

Being a master of disguise, Poisony was easily able to blend in among the humans and watch gleefully whenever they suffered through despair. Nowadays, she found it especially fun to wander the streets in the middle of the night, frightening citizens who watched from their windows as she smirked behind her cloak.

That particular night, she met with Secretoru at the bench under the dying oak tree. "So, it's really true?" Secretoru asked, seated with one leg swung over the other. "You and Joker are expecting a baby?"

"Indeed." Poisony took a seat. "Why would I lie about that?"

"You always seemed adamant that you didn't want to have a baby," said Secretoru. "I was surprised to hear that you changed your mind." She shifted her gaze. "I thought you had lost your mind..."

"Truly, I owe it to Majorina." Poisony pushed a silky strand of hair away from her face. "I may not have my powers for the next few months, but I've been given freedom from aches, pains, and everything nasty about pregnancy."

She closed her eyes. "The baby...my little Mukuro...she's remarkable already. She understands our words, and tries to communicate with us. I believe when she is born, she may be the most powerful child in the Bad End Kingdom."

"Impossible," insisted Secretoru. "No infant could possibly understand English in the womb."

"This one does." Poisony paused a moment. "She kicked. She must sense the cold."

"Unlikely," said Secretoru. Still, she glanced over as her curiosity piqued. "May I feel it?"

Poisony removed her cloak and smoothed down the billowy frocks of her dress, revealing her rounded little belly. Secretoru gazed a bit; seeing the lean Poisony with a bump made the pregnancy feel much more real. She reached out and gently placed her hands on it; Poisony's skin was soft, yet her belly felt firm from the buildup of fluids. There, she felt a shift under her hand; the baby reaching out, confirming to Secretoru that she was there. "My," she said.

"Isn’t she darling?" Poisony rested her own hand next to Secretoru's. "Because of the witch's potion, I'll be exactly back the way I was in five months. Until then, I have my own little monster all to myself."

"Is she worth giving up your body for?" Secretoru asked.

"For my Mukuro, I'd give my own blackened soul." Poisony let out a relaxed sigh, enjoying her baby's tiny kicks.
