"Sir?" Questioned one of his men.

Ishamael looked up from the book he had been staring blankly at. The man was in all black with a sword at his hip. Next to him was a familiar tall red haired man with a crooked smile.

"Lews Therin," breathed Ishamael barely concealing his surprise.

In a warm room far from the cities Ishamael sat at his desk with a book in his hand. The fire crackled to his right but it was unheard by the Chosen. Despite having stared at the book for the last hour he had yet to read a single word. His thoughts weren't on it. In fact they were something... No someone else. The same person he had found his thoughts drifting to for months.

Lews Therin was quiet. That was unusual for the man even in this new Age. It made his skin crawl wondering where Lews Therin was. Quietness from him usually spelt trouble for the Chosen.

The bond between him and Lews Therin had stabilized over the last few months. At first it wasn't a bond Ishamael had noticed. In his insanity it caused him to attack the boy. It was different from his bond with Lews Therin and he didn't understand it.

When it snapped in place at the battle of Eye of the World he felt it. A sense of calm had washed over him and over the course of weeks he was able to regain his mind. When it had settled had his sanity returned that was when he met Lews Therin losing himself to the power and when he stopped the boy.

Over time their bond has fluctuated and settled with their emotions and control. It was once more in his settled faze which meant normally he could feel the boy. Currently however he couldn't and it made him nervous.

Had the boy learned how to shield his mind? If so why? Their last meeting had gone well all things considering. If it wasn't the boy's doing was it the Tower's? Why didn't they just kill him then?

"Sir?" Questioned one of his men.

Ishamael looked up from the book he had been staring blankly at. The man was in all black with a sword at his hip. Next to him was a familiar tall red haired man with a crooked smile.

"Lews Therin," breathed Ishamael barely concealing his surprise.

How had the boy found him? The bond that had been quiet for so long flared to life. Warmth . Oh ho. So that's how he did it. Ingenious little Dragon. Ishamael's eyes sparked with something akin to excitement. The boy was growing in power and skill every day.

Lews Therin returned the greeting, "Ishamael. You are hard to find."

Carefully Ishamael said, "If I had known you were coming I would have collected you myself. You have learned how to manipulate the bond between us so I couldn't sense you until you wanted me to. Well done."

The grey blue eyes sparked with emotion and a flush went up the back of his neck. Embarrassed. So easy to pick at the boy's emotions. An almost fond smile touched Ishamael's lips. Some things never change. How many lives had it been now? Chasing each other through the Wheel? Rand Al Thor and Lews Therin the same yet different.

Rand said rubbing the back of his neck, "I followed some Dark Friends and the pull of the bond. I couldn't feel it at first but after the fever I could."

That would make sense. Their bond would pull at the younger as he didn't have the control Ishamael did. Even with his control if the boy was in trouble like with the fever he would be drawn to find him.

"Why are you here, Lews Therin?" Questioned Ishamael.

Rand's eyes widened before the trailed away from his face. No that wouldn't do. Ishamael crossed the space between them and brought his hand under the boy's chin and made him look up at him. There he found barely concealed anger and frustration but it wasn't directed at him.

Quietly Rand said, "I'm tired of being lied to and given the run around. So far you have been the only one who has given me a straight answer. When I have questions you answer them and if you don't there is a good reason. The Aes Sedai are getting worse so I left them. For good this time."

Ishamael probed the boy's presence lightly testing him. Sincerity was clear. He was not lying to get close to Ishamael.

"I've come to you because you don't lie to me," said the boy stepping closer to Ishamael, "I have been touched by the Dark and I choose you."

Well this was certainly a surprise. The boy chose him and he chose the boy.
