Mirabels lore

Summary:

Hera is the queen of olympus and the goddess of childbirth, good health and women.. what is to say that mirabel wouldn't be blessed by her... or the candle giving her a gift on her 6 birthday..

Chapter 1

Chapter Text

It's been 10 years since mirabels ceremony and she has been told that there is nothing that she can do that can benefit the family and the encanto. She Has heard everything before from her tia pepa and her friends thinking that she was cursed for not having a gift. Everyone but a few good people still love have mirabel around and that's all that she needs.

One morning Mirabel woke up and she was in a different room from the nursery. She quickly found out that she was in her own room and she started to explore it. While she was looking around she found out that her room had massive garden behind a balcony and a secluded area only she could go to unless she invited someone to come. The whole place had an other worldly she cant even describe.
Mirabel stumbled upon a majestic peacock feather shimmering with iridescent colors and it disappeared as she touched it, she felt an electrifying surge of power, and her eyes began to glow with an ethereal light.

Mirabel soon realized that she had inherited the gift of Hera, the ancient Greek goddess of marriage and family. With this divine power, she could bless marriages, ensuring love and harmony in the unions she touched. She could also sense if someone hurt another person in every way.

Mirabel didn't show anyone her gift or anything but when the family woke up late because she didn't wake them up they all found a new door with her name on it where she is standing tall and majestically. Later on the family decided to redo her ceremony even though she didn't even want to do it, making Alma say "don't be ungrateful the candle gave you a second chance so don't mess up". Hearing this Mirabel decides to only help those who come to her personally and ask her for her help, anyone who doesn't do that won’t get any.

 

However, as she delved deeper into her abilities, Mirabel discovered an unexpected facet of her gift. One evening, as she attended a celebratory gathering, she met Lucia, the younger sister of her close friend, Elena. As Mirabel shook Lucia's hand, her eyes once again glowed with an otherworldly light. As soon as she came out from the vision she looked around and her eyes landed on Lucia's fiancé and her eyes narrowed.

In that moment, Mirabel sensed something amiss. She saw flashes of pain and sorrow, as if a dark cloud loomed over Lucia's impending wedding. Unable to ignore her divine intuition, Mirabel leaned closer to Lucia and whispered, "Are you alright? Is there something you're not telling anyone?"

Tears welled up in Lucia's eyes as she confessed the truth. She had doubts about her marriage, and her heart ached with uncertainty. Mirabel's gift had revealed the hidden turmoil within Lucia's heart, and her connection to Hera's divine insight compelled her to speak the truth.

The revelation sent shockwaves through the gathered guests, and Elena's family was devastated by the unexpected confession. They demanded an explanation from Mirabel, demanding to know why she would disrupt such an important event. Noone really knew how her gift work and it was just that mirabel never told anyone but she felt like Noone deserved to know besides her best friend.

Alma, the family's matriarch, confronted Mirabel with anger in her eyes. "Mirabel, you have no right to interfere in someone else's marriage! Explain yourself!"

Mirabel's response was firm and unwavering. "I don't answer to you, Abuela. My gift shows me what I have to know, and that's all you have to know." Then she turned around and said "I'm not blessing this marriage and the marriage is over! " she looked at Elena's family and told them to meet her infront of Casita they have something to talk about and walked away with alma and everyone looking at her.

Chapter 2: The talk

During breakfast Abuela tried to convince mirabel to reconsider what happened at the party the other day and mirabel flat out said " no I won't do I'm doing what is best for my friend and just because you like the Lopez family doesn't mean that they are good people" . Pepa, on the other hand, wanted to know what she was talking about because, according to her, maybe mirabels gift isn't as good as you thought it was.." with Isabella laughing quietly.
In which Mirabel replied " if I were you I would be worried about your declining heath and mental health". And left with the entire family looking at her besides Antonio because he doesn't really understand what's going on.

Mirabel had sensed the darkness lurking within Lucia's fiancé, and her heart burned with concern for her friend. She couldn't bear to see Lucia suffer any longer, but she knew that merely exposing the truth wasn't enough. She needed to create a safe space for Lucia and her family to discuss this dire situation. So when the family came to casiya she let them in her room and took them to a certain part where Noone has never been. Amazed at this because at her second ceremony none of the things that they are seeing was there. ( I'm going to describe her room with great detail!!)

Mirabel then went on showing them all the important details like the agriculture and decor of the place where her room was a harmonious blend of classical Greek architecture and the vibrant colors of Encanto. Its walls were adorned with intricate frescoes reminiscent of the grandeur of Mount Olympus. These frescoes depicted the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology, capturing their majesty and grace.

Her The Bedchamber was the centerpiece of her room was a grand canopy bed with draperies that seemed to shimmer like moonlight. The bed was adorned with rich fabrics in regal shades of blue and white, reminiscent of the colors associated with Hera. It was a place of rest and rejuvenation, where Mirabel would often find herself immersed in dreams and visions.

Altar to Hera in one corner of the room, a small altar dedicated to Hera held pride of place. On this altar, a sacred statue of Hera, adorned with pearls and gems, watched over the room. Mirabel would often light candles and offer prayers to the goddess, feeling a deep and unspoken connection to her divine patron.(she hardly goes there but when she does it's like for 1 time a week)

Hera's Roses Mirabel had a magical rose garden that thrived within her room. These roses, like Hera's, came in a breathtaking array of colors, each petal seeming to capture the essence of the goddess herself. Their fragrance filled the air with a sweet and intoxicating perfume, and they never withered or lost their bloom.( mirabel had other flowers there too)

Flowing Fountains Miniature fountains adorned with golden cherubs and sculpted figures graced her room. These fountains cascaded with crystal-clear waters, their gentle melodies creating a sense of serenity. Mirabel often found solace in their soothing presence, feeling as though she were surrounded by divine blessings.(she would invite Antonio there too .. sometimes camilo and Dolores and Luisa)

Statues and Artifacts Throughout the room, there were statues and artifacts reminiscent of ancient Greece. These pieces, imbued with a touch of divine magic, depicted scenes from Greek mythology, celebrating the gods, goddesses, and heroes of old.( mirabel told them she loved learning about the history and how fascinating it is)

Tapestry of Destiny One of the room's most cherished treasures was a tapestry that hung above the altar. It depicted a scene of Mirabel's destiny interwoven with the threads of Hera's guidance and protection. It was a reminder of her unique gift, a power bestowed upon her by the queen of the gods herself.( this is where mirabel goes to learn about her gift and how to use it .. it's not as easy as it looks)

Divine Serenity Mirabel's room exuded an aura of divine serenity and grace. It was a place where she could seek refuge, connect with the spirit of Hera, and draw upon the strength of her divine gift. It was a sanctuary where Mirabel felt the presence of the goddess, guiding her on a path of purpose and destiny.

Mirabel's room was not just a place of beauty and comfort; it was a testament to her special connection with Hera and the unique gift that set her apart in Encanto. It was a space where the magic of Olympus met the enchantment of their village, a place where Mirabel could embrace her role as the guardian of her family's legacy, guided by the divine power of her patron goddess.
Mirabel took them to the room across from there they can talk and noone who isn't invited can't come in here.

"This room is a sanctuary," Mirabel explained solemnly. "Here, the truth can be spoken without fear or judgment. Once you enter, no one can leave until we have addressed what is happening."

Elena's family, perplexed by Mirabel's request, exchanged wary glances. They had no idea what to expect as they stepped into the room, its walls seemingly imbued with a gentle, divine light.

With Lucia's encouragement, the truth unfolded within the sanctified space. Lucia bravely shared her painful experiences, the emotional and physical abuse inflicted upon her by her fiancé. The room, glowing with Mirabel's gift of Hera, bore witness to the anguish in Lucia's voice, the tears in her eyes, and the heartache that had remained hidden for far too long.

As Lucia's family listened, their expressions shifted from confusion to shock, then to anger . Lucia's father could be heard yelling " that bastard is dead how dare he!!"

Chapter 3: Madrigal family

Alma and the others hear the Mr.Gonzalez outburst and they have a talk

The rest of the Madrigal family, gathered in another part of the house, suddenly heard Lucia's father's angry outburst from Mirabel's room.

Abuela: (shocked) "Did you hear that? It came from Mirabel's room."

Isabela: (confused) "It sounded like Lucia's father. What's happening in there?"

Camilo: (curious)" Um.. are we not gonna talk about what Mira.. said about Mama or not? cause I'm worried".

Agustín: (cautious) " Yeah that did sound really bad maybe we can ask her to elaborate."

Felix:( worried) " she said something about her declining heath and mental health... that doesn't sound good."

Juileta (worried) " Felix that is very bad... how did she know is it her gift?"

Pepa (shocked)" What about what's going on her room... and I know what she said was bad ... I'll have to ask her for help and apologize what I said was out of order.."

Luisa (concerned) " Mirabel kinda seems like she would do something to the Lopez eldest son though.. I wanna know why she doesn't like the family.. Dolores do you know about it?
Dolores (shocked )" no I don't and even if I did..(covers Antonio's ears) I wouldn't tell ..

It got quiet for a while then they heard the door open,
Alma was about to speak but then the look that Manuel and Lina gave her while mirabel said" both Elaina and Lucia will stay with me for the night.. come by again tomorrow .."

Chapter 4: The argument

Mirabel argues with alma and it not going to be pretty!

Mirabel, who had been growing increasingly frustrated with the Lopez family's actions, felt compelled to confront Alma, who seemed to turn a blind eye to their wrongdoing.

Mirabel: (exasperated) "Alma, I don't understand why you defend the Lopezes all the time! They've done some terrible things, and it's like you can't see it!" Something is seriously wrong with you!

Alma: (defensive) "Mirabel, you're being too harsh. They're not all bad. We should try to see the good in people."

Mirabel: (angry) "I'm being harsh?! Yourbjust too blind to see haow bad they are! Just becausethey are your friends doesn't mean thatbthey shouldgrt away for thethings that they did!! A the good in people?! Some people don't deserve that ... ."

The argument escalated as both Mirabel and Alma were steadfast in their viewpoints. Mirabel was getting restless and Alma was trying to not make a scene even though the problem was hers she always wanted to seem to think what ever they did wasn't that bad of an issue.

Alma: (frustrated) "You just want to see the worst in them, Mirabel. You don't give anyone a chance to change."

Mirabel: (angry) "See the worst in them? Like what you guys did to tio Bruno? There punishment will come just wait .. oh and Tia .."

Pepa: "what.."
Mirabel:(concerned) "... don't stress out too bad try yoga or drink some tea ... you don't owe anyone anything anymore."

The room went tired and everyone was shocked Noone brought up Bruno for years and they was wondering what punishment....

Abuela: (intervening) "Enough! Mirabel, tell me what punishment you are talking about and what did they do to you?! Why are you soo bend on making them pay for their actions..?
Mirabel "Because Alejandro Lopez and his ratchet family insulted me and my best friends family that I won't over look! They will get what coming to them!!!"
Then they saw in her go to her room thinking Alejandro...

Chapter 5: The healing room

Summary:

Mirabel uses her gift to heal Lucia, while showing the Gonzalez family the healing sanctuary

When Manuel and Lina had come in the morning they had waited in front of Casita until it opened its door and let them in. The other villagers wanted to know what was going on and all Maneul said was something about them being blind and followers.

As they went into Mirabels room Alma tried to follow butbthe door slammed shut and noone in the family is allowed. Mirabel met them in the center of the Garden with both Eliana and Lucia who was looking quite restless.

Mirabel looked around and said " I am going to show show where the healing sanctuary.. this is where heal ".
When they got there all that Elaina could say was "um but you can heal like this why didn't you tell your abuela?"
Mirabel replied "Well its because she's power hungry as far as i have seen she wants things her way and I'm not going to use my gift the way she wants." Lucia mumbled "makes sense since she thinks that she knows everything" At this time both parents say the dress that the girls were wearing and it looked like the ones from ancient greek. Lina then asked " Do we have to change too?" Mirabel then said "yes"

When they got to the place they saw a small but enchanting oasis had taken shape—a space dedicated to healing and solace. This was no ordinary corner; it was a sacred sanctuary, a tribute to Mirabel's gift from the Greek goddess Hera. The healing area radiated with serenity and spiritual power.

The Pool of Crystal Waters were at the center of the healing area lay a shallow, circular pool, its waters pristine and clear as the clearest sky. The pool was surrounded by delicate mosaic tiles, each one meticulously crafted to form intricate patterns of swirling waves and ethereal creatures, reminiscent of ancient Greek art and some from the encanto..The waters in the pool seemed to shimmer with a gentle, otherworldly light, inviting anyone who entered to find refuge within.

Overlooking the healing pool was a statue of Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and family, her majestic form carved from pure alabaster. Hera's expression was one of maternal compassion, her eyes seemingly filled with an eternal wisdom. Her outstretched arms seemed to embrace all who sought solace in her presence.

The healing area was framed by lush greenery, with vibrant potted plants and trailing vines cascading down the walls. The plants thrived under Mirabel's care, adding a touch of natural beauty to the sanctuary. The leaves rustled gently, creating a soothing melody that seemed to resonate with the waters. Manuel made a comment about Isabela not being about to do these kind of flowers in which Mirabel replied " oh well these plants are extinct and some are hard to find."

A soft, melodic tune, barely audible, lingered in the air. It was the same hauntingly beautiful song Mirabel sang when she channeled her gift. The music seemed to emanate from the walls themselves, filling the space with an aura of tranquility. Elaina said" I've heard you sing that hymn multiple times.. it always made me feel better..."
Mirabel smiled and said "It also has some kind of magic too that's why."
As one stepped into the healing area, a sense of calmness enveloped them. The very air seemed charged with healing energy, as if the room itself held a deep understanding of pain and a profound desire to offer solace and renewal.
Mirabel asked "shall we start the healing?".

Chapter 6: The healing

Mirabel led Lucia and the others through a twisting passageway lined with intricate symbols and softly glowing crystals. They arrived at a serene, underground grotto, where a shallow pool of water gleamed like liquid moonlight. (The place kinda changes a bit)

Mirabel: (softly) "This is where the healing begins, Lucia. Step into the pool. You guys sre the first to see this.."

Lucia hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath and stepping into the cool, inviting waters.(her family watches from the sidelines)

Mirabel positioned herself at the edge of the pool, her eyesstsrted to glow. She began to chant a hauntingly beautiful melody, her voice echoing through the chamber. The words, ancient and powerful, resonated with the essence of Hera's gift.(this usually take alot out of her and this is the first time she's healing this way.. she's been training for this)
As the chant continued, the water in the pool began to glow with a soft, ethereal light, mirroring the warm and healing energy of Mirabel's song.
Lucia closed her eyes, allowing the soothing sounds and the gentle touch of the water to envelop her. She felt a profound connection to the gift of Hera and to Mirabel, who was guiding her through this transformative journey.

Mirabel placed her hands on the surface of the water, and ripples of healing energy spread outwards, encircling Lucia. Whatever that was hurting her wasn't hurting her anymore.
Mirabel's chant grew more intense as she directed the healing energy towards Lucia.
The water seemed to come alive, swirling gently around Lucia's form. She felt the weight of her past trauma being drawn out of her, carried away by the healing waters.

After all of that Mirabel put her hands on Lucia's heart and said "your healed but not fully you still have your memory of those days .. do you want them gone or do you want to be aware of them". Lucia of course says she wants to be able to remember them to an extent.

Chapter 7: Talks and Flashbacks

When the Gonzalez family left Casitait was quite for a while then Pepa stormed towards mirabel who stood firm and with arms folded.

Pepa then asked " what did you mean by my health and mental health..?!"
Mirabel replied " the way you handle your emotions isn't good how abuela forces to use yourself for the villagers isn't good... you will not make it to Antonio's 10th birthday.."

And with that everyone was shocked and didn't speak for a few minutes.

Isabela asked" how can you even tell? How do you know! you gift doesn't even show that.!"

Camilo and Dolores looked at each other and sighed.. and Antonio chirped up" Mirabel's gift is awesome she can do alot of things..! Mira can you help mama?"

Mirabel nodded her head then said "sure later though"

Alma said " The Lopez family are not the problem .. your gift is useless mirabel so stop spreading lies!

Mirabel didn't say anything just that her eyes glowed a bit and smiled while going up the stairs.

 

Luisa mumbled " I wonder what she did? That smile says alot and with her gift anything is possible. "
With that everyone went to bed with uncertainty.

Alma Madrigal sat in her room, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight. As she gazed out the window, her thoughts drifted back to a time long before the recent troubles with the Lopez family had done in the last years.
She recalled the whispers and murmurs that had first reached her ears, like distant thunderheads heralding a storm. It was a time when the villagers of Encanto began to voice their concerns about the Lopez family's behavior.

Rosa Sanchez: (whispering) "Have you noticed how they always seem to get away with everything?"

Maria Rodriguez: (concerned) "It's as if they think they're above the rules that bind the rest of us.. it's not right Alma please do something!"
Alma remembered how she had initially dismissed these complaints, believing that every family had its flaws and quirks.
Alma then remembered the moments when she saw a few of the younger ladies in the village crying surrounded by friends.. she didn't think nothing of it but now it all looks clear now.

Chapter 8: Court day

Summary:

Today is the day and the Lopez family will see mirabels wrath

Mirabel couldn't believe any of this. The entire village was here, and of course, the Lopez family has people who sided with them.

She came in wearing a midnight blue outfit with a white top and sat down with the victims family while her family sat somewhere else.

She whispered to herself, " they won't get away with this, and I'll show them not to just how strong my gift is."

The accusations were not limited to disrupting unity but extended to the alleged mistreatment of Lucia and other girls within the village. Mirabel literally knew that they where lying through their teeth. Of course she was hoping that the judge would see them as people that needed to be punished.

 

Mirabel (thoughts): this is just not right.. the judge is a close friend of the family. And abuela literally isn't really doing anything.

Mirabel spoke when she was on the stand: "Your Honor I need you to really think about this situation my gift never lies and I'm tired of the Lopez family getting away with their behavior."

After her Alma went up and gave her own testimony which wasn’t much because she refused to acknowledge the problem for so long and this is what it came to. Everyone else did too including the victims.

During everything Mirabel noticed that Alejandro was looking really nervous.. but most of all angry at the fact that people weren't buying his lies and the lies of his own family. Hugo on the other other hand just told the truth and his parents tried to convince the people that they had no idea of his behavior and or actions.

Lucia didn't speak yet.. she was afraid of what Alejandro would do but if the others could do it so can she. She got up to the stand to say her part.

Lucia: (firm and resolute) "I cannot stand by as my experiences are twisted. I was hurt, and I know I'm not alone. Others have suffered."

When she was going back to her seat she heard a yell from behind her and she say Alejandro reaching out for her and his face red in anger. Lucia had never seem anything like it

Mirabel had her hand out and her eyes was glowing. Lucia saw his body frozen and bending awkwardly then bending down. Everyone was shocked and afraid because Noone knew that mirabel could even do that.

The judge finally said that the Lopez family was quilty (he sounded very shocked and sad) and sentenced them to the town prison that they built as suggested by mirabel because why not.

Some people was kinda happy with the sentence but not Mirabel and as well as the other girls in the village with their family. Noone was really happy because of they had killed them or sent out of the village then they would have gotten a light sentence.

Noone but Mirabel noticed that Alejandro had already planned to leave after they left him in the cell. But she guessed that she would have to keep an eye out for him because Dolores can't always hear everything.

Chapter 9: Escape and Punishment

Alejandro tries to escape only to get punished

The night was shrouded in a heavy silence, disturbed only by the rustling of leaves and the faint glow of fireflies. In the village jail, Alejandro's heart raced as he concocted a daring plan for escape.
He ran through the woods and tripped a couple of times, but he kept on going until he reached a dead end.
Out of breath, he said, " I need to get out of here." He continued to run until he heard some animal sounds, then footsteps.

Turning around, he saw mirabel in dark blue pants and a gray top with black boots. They stared at each other for a bit, then mirabel smiled saying "where are you going?.. I saw you .. I was watching you the entire time.. when you managed to loosen a metal piece from his cot, and it now served as your makeshift lockpick, then you left the cell to run. You'll never be able to leave ..."

Alejandro cursed and backed away, then ran for it before slamming into an invisible force.
Mirabel gasped and said, " it seems like the magic isn't going to let you leave without you getting punished." She got closer and then looked at him closely, he was swearing and his clothes were very dirty.. her eyes glowed a bit, then she said, " well your in trouble, that's for sure.. you will never leave here, sane." Then she slipped away into the woods.
He got up and then attended to run or die trying, but then he heard snarling and howls. Looking around, he didn't see anything, then he felt something bite his leg dragging him away out of the wood and near into the village. The only thing was that no one heard any of the noise, so when it came into the morning, Noone could really sync what happened to him.

Alejandro had been driven to madness, and it should be on his face. The consequences of running away and braking out of prison for the attacks that he did were very well shown.
( If anyone knows what happened to Hercules.. that's what happened, but he didn't kill anyone) Even the rest of the Madrigal family was shocked, especially when mirabel said "that that was his punishment he tried to leave, but thanks to the magic, he wasn't able to, and I got point through... I cursed him.."

Alma herself tried to get Mirabel to reconsider the punishment, but mirabel doesn't care enough or just refuses to do so. The guards had taken Alejandro to another building and left him there to stay where he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone, while his family was in a different area and they found out what happened to him to had gotten sick to their stomach.

 

A few weeks later, everything was just getting back to normal, and the girls in the village were starting to recover as well as Lucia. Mirabel was sure that she made an example of what would happen if anyone did anything likenthis again, then the punishment would be way worse than what Alejandro had gotten.
