Chapter Text
“Are you okay?”
The gray-haired guy was beating up the guy who was lent money but was unable to give it back on time when some people suddenly appeared. That bastard he was chasing obviously starts running off and he sighed, it would be quite an effort to chase him back.
Gamin and his study group are obviously shocked when they bumped into Geonyeob on their way to the library. Sunchul, who is also there because of his apparent luck, looks at Geonyeob. If someone watches hard enough, it would be obvious that Sunchul is giving concern.
His face looks more worn off now, eye bags under his eyes, and his bleeding fist doesn’t help. Also, his eyes are darker. Like he has no care in this world other than his revenge. But the most surprising thing is probably the fact that he’s on the side of Yunghyeon Ji–White Lead. Gamin is quietly observing, contemplating whether to ask Geonyeob to return to school or just let him be, as he also knows that Geonyeob is just taking revenge on his mother’s death. But being the idiot that he is, he asks anyway.
“Geonyeob, you don’t have to do this alone. We could help too. On top of that, we’re going to college. Don’t you also want to go?”
However, Geonyeob remains silent. He made up his mind long ago when he was holding his dying mother in his arms, how her blood got onto him and how he had screamed to those idiot police that came too late, without even registering the wound he himself got.
His wandering mind comes back to sense when he hears Jiwoo Lee’s stern voice. She’s looking at him with what Geonyeob would say as disgust and a hint of confusion.
“That man-child really can’t be told. Maybe we should beat some sense into him,” she says, looking at Gamin.
Geonyeob really couldn’t be bothered with their shit. He’d fight Gamin’s ridiculous study group then come back to Yunghyeon Ji and Minhwan Ma. His effort to climb all the way up there isn’t going to waste.
Jun watches Geonyeob silently while Heewon and Sehyun exchange looks, getting ready if a fight breaks out.
“Wait, Jiwoo–”
“Hold on,”
Gamin and Sunchul look at each other, trying to guess if they are thinking the same thing.
"...I don't know what your plan is now, but just be careful with it. When you're finished, you can always come back to school." Sunchul says, while Gamin mentally agrees.
That definitely shocked Jiwoo, her eyes looked ready to pop. “What?! Gamin, just beat that man-child!” She yelled, pointing at him.
Geonyeob ignores Jiwoo’s remark, lowering his fists while looking at the other study group’s members, and Sunchul. Apart from Jiwoo, no one looked like they were gonna punch him. He turned his back, wanting to walk away when his shoulder was suddenly caught by Gamin.
“You didn’t answer, are you okay?” Geonyeob snickers. Quietly, of course. He can’t let his stoic expression out. He coldly ignored Gamin and continued leaving.
Sunchul’s and Gamin’s niceness to Geonyeob obviously confused the rest of the study group. Only Jiwoo is brave enough to voice it.
"Gamin, why are you being nice to him? Weren't you the one who said he had something to do with Ms. Hankyung's disappearance?"
Jun butts in, "yeah, Gamin, he said that Ms. Lee was..." he stopped. Not wanting to recall when he and Gamin had asked Geonyeob about Ms. Lee's whereabouts some time ago.
Though the rest of the members, Heewon and Sehyun weren’t asking, their expression alone was enough to know that they are as confused as Jiwoo and Jun.
“Well, remember when I was looking for Minhee’s father? Geonyeob… he looked unwell, and not from the fight. Even the doctor said that he should, uh, forget what it was.” Gamin mumbled his last words before continuing, “a check-up, I think.”
Sunchul nodded in agreement with Gamin. “I also accidentally saw him in an alley beating up someone who owed money, like that guy today. After, he looked like he was going to pass out. That’s very weird, he’s clearly stronger now and that other guy wasn’t even trying to fight him.”
"So what do we do now? Chase after Geonyeob?" Heewon spoke up.
"Let's just continue to the library. We’re going to study, right?" Jun answers with a grin on his face.
"Alright, let's go, everyone." Jiwoo walks alongside Heewon while Gamin invited Sunchul to come with them which he agreed to.
And with that, they went on their delayed trip to the library.
“Oh! Are you done, Yeob? How was it meeting your old friends? It reminds me of our fun time together!~” Minhwan greeted Geonyeob cheerfully, the corners of his lips turning up.
Yunghyeon Ji glances at Geonyeob, “Why are you so tense? You didn’t even pay any attention to Minhwan.” He said with his usual smile.
Geonyeob just keeps staring with no intention to respond to either of them. He was already tired enough, fighting for White Lead and suddenly meeting with his old acquaintances—friends.
“Well, alright then. You can leave and do your things. Enough for now.” Yunghyeon said, satisfied.
Geonyeob took no time, he turned around to get his bike. He gagged a little, spending time with the people involved in his mother’s murder made him sick. When he finally reached the spot where his motorcycle was, he started it and sped off. Hoping that some fresh air will somewhat freshen his mind.
He passed by the bridge where he had met Hanwool some time ago. Geonyeob tightened his grip. His thoughts drifted back to that night and the phone call two months ago.
He was just relaxing as his mom’s LP was playing in the background when his phone suddenly rang. Geonyeob glanced at it, frowned from the unidentified number. He picked up, nonetheless. Of course after activating the record button.
“Hello. Who’s this?”
The caller from afar waits no time, “If you want to know everything regarding Ms. Oh… Come to the bridge on August this date xxx…”
He said then immediately hung up. Or, Hanwool Phi said. Geonyeob had known the guy long enough and had been investigating him too to not know what his voice sounded like.
Hanwool Phi doesn’t seem to have any motive to fight him now. He lost to Gamin after all, and Geonyeob heard that he had been expelled from Yusong. Maybe he really did have some more information about his mom, but Geonyeob didn’t want to risk it… but it could actually be important.
Confused Geonyeob then called Dohoon and discussed the matter. Dohoon was more on the suspicious side while Geonyeob was believing what Hanwool Phi said. So, Dohoon had made him some special device that could make Dohoon locate him no matter what and he decided to meet the white-haired man on xx August, nearing September.
"Hanwool Phi." Geonyeob called out to Hanwool, who was gazing at the bridge.
Hanwool opened his mouth, "I called you because there's something I have to say before I leave. You're probably thinking I hurt Ms. Oh, but..."
"No. I know." Geonyeob looked at Hanwool, he sighed.
"The LP I gave to mom, she said she lent it to a student she cared about, and it was you who had it."
"Mom wouldn't be nice to someone she couldn't connect with."
"Isn't it strange? Even though it felt like I had thrown it away... Well, it was Ms. Oh." Hanwool looked away, his eyes unfocused.
"I have to thank her from the bottom of my heart."
"I'm really sorry, Geonyeob."
"Accept this."
Geonyeob received the document with confusion.
"What is this...?"
"I did gave the stars, but originally, it was..."
"A document listing people specifically observed by my father."
"From the beginning, I intended to mop out White Lead. So I had to hold my father's every move in my hands."
"Even the person mentioned only once by my father. I gathered this through various connections like drivers, people in the secretary's office, the families of the chairmen, so it's definitely accurate, even though they may not realize it."
"...then why did you...?"
"Last year, the day before the disciplinary committee, Mrs. Junghwa met my father. Then that night, she was killed."
"The culprit was my father... Yeonbaek Phi."
Geonyeob, who was already frustrated by Hanwool's intentions, grabbed Hanwool's collar. "So... tell me why you're showing this to me, you jerk."
"...the document you just saw... in there..." Hanwool finally clarified his point.
"Do you see you, Geonyeob?"
"Yeah... you don't, right?"
"Yeonbaek Phi doesn't know about your existence."
"If you know the culprit is Yeonbaek Phi... you definitely want to get revenge on him. But there's no way for you to fight YB, who is so powerful, on your own."
"The only way is..."
"Get as close to him as possible..."
"...then stab him from behind."
Geonyeob considered Hanwool's idea. He was even already imagining the plan. Right now, it felt like a plan he could execute for revenge.
"Alright."
Hanwool smiled like the leader he was.
"Oh, by the way, do you want to take the rest of Ms. Oh's stuff? I have it at my place." Hanwool still hadn't lost his smile that Geonyeob didn't realize was because he was drinking before meeting him..
"Sure," replied Geonyeob.
That night would be one Geonyeob would remember for months to come.

Chapter Text
Hanwool glances from his back, checking out whether Geonyeob was still following him or not.
“Oh, didn’t you come here with your motor?” He stopped and so did Geonyeob.
"Why, what's up?"
"Let's use it."
"You're driving?" Geonyeob asked, slightly confused. He didn't know where they were going and he reckoned that Hanwool looked a little weird. Plus, he had a small limp. He ignored it anyway, thinking it was from Hanwool’s fight with Gamin earlier.
Hanwool inaudibly cursed himself, "Ah... right, it might be dangerous if I drive. Let's just walk."
Hanwool's indecisiveness made Geonyeob’s suspicions growed bigger, but he still followed Hanwool not far behind. He pulled up the hood of his jacket to maintain his anonymity.
Throughout their walk, Hanwool kept checking on Geonyeob, making sure he’s not getting lost or stopped following him. They arrived at one of Hanwool's hideouts in no time.
"Come in," Hanwool entered first. If Geonyeob didn’t know any better, he would’ve thought that this was just some abandoned garage.
From the outside, the paint was peeling and it was starting to get a bit rusty. The plants around it grew wildly with bags of trash on the bushes. Hanwool used his key and opened his door while Geonyeob cautiously watched him in case this was a trap.
Hanwool turned to look at Geonyeob, signaling him to come in. When Geonyeob stepped inside, he quickly scanned the room.
Surprisingly, there were little things inside and it wasn’t as big as it looked from the outside. He saw a foldable bed, a TV with a sofa in front of it, some leftover food, and a plastic bag that seemed to contain some bottle trash placed in front of a bookshelf. Behind it was a wall where its paint was starting to fade.
If he didn’t know any better and he entered this garage by accident, he would’ve thought that it was an abandoned house of some alcoholic. He noticed Hanwool walking to the bookshelf and followed. Hanwool pulled up a book and opened a very specific page, and he suddenly scanned his thumb on it. Geonyeob quickly took a peek when the floor slid and there were stairs out of nowhere.
“The front of this garage was designed to fool my father’s men if they ever find out about this place,” said Hanwool while walking on the stairs with Geonyeob behind him.
When they arrived at the bottom of the stairs, Hanwool spread his arms with a smirk and said, “welcome home.”
It is quite out of character than his usual mysteriousness, but he was almost drunk here. On the other hand, Geonyeob, who didn’t know that, didn’t think much of it.
‘Maybe after being defeated Hanwool was starting to lose his facade,’ he thought.
He looked around and realized that this other side of the garage was presumably where Hanwool spent most of his time when he’s in this hideout. Upon entering, he instantly noticed that there was a more proper bedding with a desk set-up and a computer beside it. A huge TV was placed in front of the bed. There was also a faucet and a bathroom to the right of it. A mini fridge was standing to the left of the bed, like one from those hotels. Oh, don’t forget a big rug under the bed which stopped just a few meters before reaching the bathroom.
He turned around and saw just how big this place really is. One of Hanwool’s favorite cars or his motor would definitely fit here. This hidden room was also way cleaner, he guessed it’s thanks to the basic cleaning equipment standing in front of a cupboard… that was under the stairs. Like from the Harry Potter movie.
Huh. He didn’t notice that cupboard at first. Which means the design was to hide it from people, so he guessed it was where Hanwool kept the results of his investigation.
He continued to look around while Hanwool just let him be. “Cool, right? Just so you know, I play a big part in the design of it.”
Hanwool bragged as usual while Geonyeob rolled his eyes. “Yeah, well, this wouldn’t be possible if your dad hadn’t got all that money from his drug business.”
To be honest, he really was impressed. But he would never say that just to make Hanwool more arrogant than he already is.
“Sheesh, couldn’t let a man be happy for a minute, could you? Anyway, follow me.” Hanwool stepped, grabbing the broom, mop, and all that aside to open the cupboard. To his surprise, Hanwool opened it with something like a code. So it was actually that important.
The cupboard didn’t seem that big, so Geonyeob stood closely at the door, peeking out what Hanwool was doing inside. Hanwool’s tall figure accidentally made him hit his head when he was getting out of the cupboard. Well, that and possibly the drinking from before. He lets out a little ouch while Geonyeob just watches and mutters ‘dumbass’ under his breath.
"Here, Ms. Oh gave me this book when she was still teaching," Hanwool handed Geonyeob a fairly thick book titled "Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now."
'Mom even bought him something...'
'I guess Hanwool isn't that bad of a person,' the memory of his mom was coming, and he almost always cries when that happens.
In order to prevent that, since why would he ever cry in front of Hanwool Phi, he tried to focus on his surroundings again. His ears picked the sound of rain outside, but it didn’t sound that heavy.
"Is this all you have?" Geonyeob asked.
"I think so," Hanwool replied as he walked toward the fridge. He grabbed two bottles and sat in front of his bed, turning on the TV.
"Ms. Oh... was really nice." She was the nearest person he had for his lost mother’s figure. And his father wasn’t even an option, he never received any kind of love from him. He barely remembers the last time he felt love from his parents, not since fire trapped his mother a few years ago, until Geonyeob’s mother came along.
"Are you done now? I want to head back," Hanwool’s loss of thoughts was disturbed when Geonyeob, who had no intention of wasting more time with Hanwool, abruptly moved towards the stairs.
"It's pouring outside, it may not sound like the rain is that heavy but the wall is thick. Look at your forecast. Stay for a while," Hanwool suggested, taking a sip from the bottle he held.
Geonyeob hesitated, his hand on the railing. But he turned around and stayed anyway. He figured that Hanwool can’t be that bad of a person, his mom was nice to him after all.
He looked at Hanwool, noticing the bottle in his hand. “Are you drinking?”
Hanwool just smiled and shrugged, "Why not? I'm 18 now, you know."
"Do you want some too?"
"No," Geonyeob, who had realized that the rain was indeed getting heavier, sighed. He decided to sit on the first few stairs. It was cold, so he tightened his Yusong jacket.
Unwillingly, the darkened night brings him back to the night his mom died.
How he cried and wondered who would even do such a thing to his beloved mom. Clutching his stomach with blood everywhere and the sirens of the useless police who were too late. His mom has already felt cold. The hand that used to caressed his head, telling him to study hard and kissed him good night, his mom who waited while he was out of the country.
Who won’t be here anymore, no one who cares for him the way she did and no one he would love the way he did, still does. No one he would throw his whole life for only to get revenge, the only person who is now Geonyeob’s entire reason to live.
For a few minutes, they sat in silence like that. Geonyeob lost in thoughts, and Hanwool continued sipping on his drink. With heavy rain as the perfect background. They mourned together, unknowingly.
"You’re going to do something that will change your life forever. There’s no going back from it y’know?" Hanwool said suddenly, and his changed tone didn’t go unnoticed by Geonyeob.
Silence fell for a while, Geonyeob didn’t know how to face drunk Hanwool. It’s not like ‘getting-drunk-together-with-the-son-of-the-murderer-of-my-mom’ was in his calendar. He decided to just watch him as his eyes began to droop and his face turned flushed.
“...You’re going to have nothing left after it ends.”
Hanwool locked eyes with Geonyeob. Geonyeob let out a little chuckle, as if he didn’t know that. Hanwool should’ve known that his life already ended that night.
Geonyeob knows about Hanwool’s mom's death. He also knows about Hanwool’s little sister. No wonder Hanwool didn’t completely crumble. Geonyeob notices the way Hanwool always looked at his sister. Even if Hanwool’s father was a cruel, cold-hearted bastard and Hanwool was close to becoming one himself, he has someone to go back to. Someone who will always wait for him after he’s done with his shit.
Geonyeob didn’t. His own father fell with him when his mom let out her last breath.
He looked at Hanwool, dead in the eyes and said, “I know.”
Hanwool recognizes Geonyeob’s pained face a little too well. He took another sip, “so I’m saying, why don’t you have the last fun you could ever have? After this, you won’t have any after all. One drink doesn’t kill you.”
Hanwool walked, grabbed a bottle and went to where Geonyeob was seated and sat on the stairs above Geonyeob, then offered a bottle in front of his face. Geonyeob receives it, though uncertain to drink. He still has a little suspicion of Hanwool, just a night before they were fighting on a different side.
Hanwool, although drunk, was able to pick up Geonyeob’s hesitation and suspicion on him. “C’mon, I’m drunk too. And you’ve been with me for what, almost an hour? Nothing’s happened, not that there will be. I’ve given you everything I know about… Ms. Oh’s death.”
The bottle in his hand was starting to be tempting. He decided to take a sip and he’s blaming that decision on Hanwool’s excellent manipulation skill.
As his mind starts to get fuzzy, he gets more and more relaxed. Maybe Hanwool was right. This once, he wanted to let everything go. Just this night, not like he would ever get a chance after. The journey on his mom’s revenge was not going to be pretty.
Hanwool smiled, sitting beside him. He was looking at Geonyeob, then dropped his gaze. They both sat in silence, drinking together. Hanwool steals a glance back at Geonyeob, only this time he’s met with the other’s eyes.
Hanwool brings their faces closer, and finally their lips touch. Geonyeob was taken aback, he pushed the man.
And Hanwool was quick to recognize the regret in Geonyeob’s after he pushed him, so he continued their disrupted kiss. Only this time Geonyeob didn’t fight back.
‘The first and last time I would ever be doing this.’ was his last thought he could remember.

Chapter Text
Geonyeob keeps driving alongside the road he passed with Hanwool a few months ago. He’d been staying at Hanwool’s hideout. At first, he obviously rejected it. However, as he always liked to reason his decisions to stay there, it was Hanwool’s powerful skill to make someone do what he wanted. Hanwool had also convinced Geonyeob that his father would never find out about this place .
They aren’t so hateful towards each other anymore, but nothing’s changed beside that. What happened that night was the fault of their drunkenness and nothing else. Hanwool was only a guy who felt guilty of his mom’s death, and Geonyeob was someone he wanted to repay back somehow. Thus, the decision to stay while getting his revenge done.
It also cuts the money problem if he chose to move around. Not that it would matter, he’s ready to give everything for his mom.
He stops his motor then leads it to the back of the garage. For anyone who doesn’t know, the back of it would only look like a basic wall with no access towards the actual garage. Hanwool told him the secret code when he finally decided to stay and all of the place’s features. The back wall can be opened only by scanning your thumb, which is what Geonyeob is doing now.
After parking, he goes straight to bed and lays down. Seeing Gamin and his stupid friends today was exhausting, not to mention the work he did for Yunghyeon Ji and Minhwan Ma before that. He quickly goes back to sitting though, not wanting to bring dirt to his only comfort place right now.
He feels kind of weird, a year ago he wouldn’t even talk to Hanwool Phi yet here he is right now, sleeping on the same bed as Hanwool once did. He reaches his other phone on the desk near the bed. Dohoon and him had made a plan to meet once in a while. Although Geonyeob was sure that he had planned his plan well, he still wants to make sure that it went smoothly so that the incident with Minhwan would not happen again.
A grumble was heard from his stomach, so he put his phone down and walked to the fridge. Grabbing bread and stuffed it into his mouth. The taste was somehow weird, and he couldn’t help not to gag. He tries to drink water to subside the sudden nausea, but it doesn't help much.
"Ugh... hm," he tries his best to hold back the nausea that is getting stronger. His skin is sweating, his face deathly pale and now not only is he nauseous, he’s getting dizzy.
The gray-haired guy storms off to the bathroom without even getting the chance to turn on the lamp. He immediately spits the bread and continues emptying his stomach though nothing else is coming out.
Geonyeob stays crouching awkwardly for a while. His head is getting dizzy again, but he still feels like vomiting. Geonyeob rubbed his stomach lightly with his left hand while he used his right to hold his weight.
"Haah," after the nausea subsided, he slowly sat down on the cold bathroom floor to ease his dizziness. He tries getting up slowly when his head isn't throbbing as bad.
He turns on the water tap and washes his face, looking for a moment, lost in his thoughts. This weird nausea had suddenly appeared just a few weeks ago and it wouldn’t leave. He grasps the tap, he really can’t waste time being sick right now.
Ring~
The sudden phone ring startled him. He steps out of the bathroom and looks at the message. Apparently, Dohoon’s already at the door. Putting his phone down, he opens the hidden back door and looks around.
‘Huh? Why is he not here..?’ Geonyeob realizes suddenly that this could be a trap and is going to close his door when Dohoon appears in his sight.
He jumps out of surprise, “Dohoon what the hell? You scared me! I thought you were just a trap.”
“I, uh, sorry…”
“Forget it, just come in. We can’t risk anyone knowing about this door.”
Dohoon slides in then puts his things on the wood table and faces Geonyeob.
"So, about that earlier, sorry, Geonyeob. It's hard to avoid being watched these days. Gamin and his friends are getting more involved."
Dohoon finished his sentence then held up the plastic he was carrying, "here, I bought the supplies you asked for and," he pointed to the plastic near his feet, "fried chicken."
Geonyeob checks the things he had asked Dohoon to bring and grabs one of the chickens. Dohoon looks at his said best friend, sweat running down his temples. There has been something he wants to say. He fidgets and watches Geonyeob for a while.
“I know. I met them today. Tch, those people just can’t stop being nosy. Told them it’d be better to stay away,” he finished his sentence with a frown.
"Where did you buy this chicken? Tastes awful."
"Actually… I bought it exactly where we used to eat from." Dohoon is convinced of something that has been lingering in his mind for the past weeks.
As the best friend of Geonyeob, he remembers well what the doctor said that time when Geonyeob was hospitalized due to Minhee's father's problem.
Dohoon broke into Geonyeob's room, "Geonyeob! Are you okay?"
Geonyeob, who was getting dressed, turned around, "Did you bring what I asked for?"
"Yes, but are you sure you can leave in such conditions?" Dohoon asked, concerned. Geonyeobb has been changing for some time now. He’d turned more distant and only focused on his revenge.
Before Dohoon actually had time to ask more though, a doctor barged into the room.
"Ah, excuse me, Geonyeob Park? I have something to say." the doctor glanced at Dohoon.
"You can say it, he’s a friend of mine."
"Well, Mr. Geonyeob Park, I think you should undergo a follow-up examination. There were signs of pregnancy during your examination yesterday."
Dohoon was so shocked he didn’t fully get what the doctor said. He didn’t even pay attention to Geonyeob whose eyes widened at those words.
Dohoon looked at Geonyeob, "Geonyeob, are you?!"
"There's no need for that. There's no way I'm pregnant."
Dohoon looks at his best friend then prepares to see the reaction of his friend on what he’s going to say, "Geonyeob, you’re with child, aren’t you?"
Notes:
At first, I already planned on how this story would goes but right now I'm waiting until season 3 updates! I want to stick the fic to the original as much as possible. But don't worry, I'll finish this fic no matter what happens lol. So here are the first 4 chapters that I promise myself I would write before the year ends. (2023)
---
Also, technically, as far as I know, doctors can't actually know if you're pregnant or not if they didn't do an ultrasound. But for the sake of the story let's just let it go.
Chapter 4
Summary:
Geonyeob starts to think.
Chapter Text
Geonyeob stares sharply at Dohoon, “What’s up with you?! If you don’t wanna help me anymore, just say so!”
He screams angrily, accidentally pushing the chicken which makes them scattered on the floor. Dohoon looks back, not giving up.
“It’s not like that, calm down for a bit, Geonyeob. Just, try it yourself then to be sure.” Dohoon takes the things he has been keeping in his pocket and hands it to Geonyeob, who refuses to take them.
Geonyeob gets rid of Dohoon’s hand, hitting it stronger than he planned. The two testpacks fly around to somewhere Geonyeob doesn’t bother to look at.
“You know, you’ve really changed.” Dohoon says, his memory sparking up the moment he met Jun and Gamin when they first asked about Hankyung Lee.
Those words are like pouring gasoline on a fire. Geonyeob bursts, “huh? You don’t even know how I feel! Can you still be calm if–”
Geonyeob, who intended to say “if you were the one who holds your dying mother” can’t continue. His breath turns ragged, he points at Dohoon.
“Go. I don’t need you anymore.”
Dohoon looks at him helplessly and knows not to bother Geonyeob when he’s like this. It was partly his fault too, but he’s only concerned about his best friend. His savior.
“If… if you don’t want to tell me the result it’s fine. But at least check for yourself.” Dohoon says as he leaves.
Geonyeob is taken aback for a moment, he doesn’t move. His mouth pressed tightly. He looks around, already feeling tired knowing he has to clean up the mess from the chicken.
He sits on the floor, leaning to his bed. Hiding his face with his hands. Fine. It’s okay if no one helps him. He’s always a loner wolf, after all. Company never matters for him and he doesn’t need anyone to make his plan perfect. He’s not about not to give up after what he has been doing to get inside of White Lead, and what he’d done after being a member.
He’s only doing this for his mom. That’s all, the only motivation he needs to keep going.
Geonyeob takes a deep breath and slowly stands up. First, he’s gonna clean his place again to make his mind cleaner. He starts from the chickens, putting them back on the box and placing it near the trash can beside the faucet. He washes his hands then grabs the broom and starts sweeping. Not all areas though, only the one with chicken around. His eyes catch the items that Dohoon bought, the ones that made him fight with him. He picks the 2 small boxes that were thrown.
As he pours the dustpan, he’s also throwing them two testpacks but he stopped. He puts the dustpan and broom and sits on his bed, looking at the testpacks.
He’s flooded with emotions, but fear dominates. His mind is full of what if’s. He can feel his heart racing and sweats running down. What if the doctor and Dohoon were right? He can’t… That would ruin his only plan to get his revenge.
His hands are trembling with fear then he tries to relax. There’s no point in panicking now. He only needs to check it to be sure. He picks them up, and heads to the bathroom. Not forgetting his phone, White Lead’s work doesn’t exactly stop the moment he’s back. Both Minhwan and Yunghyeon had reached him when he was already home.
As he lowered his pants he started sweating more. This is the thing that could destroy all his effort.
Geonyeob swallowed nervously, his heart beating fast and cold sweat dripping as time passed. 1, 2 minutes passed, his mind wandering. His entire future, his perfect plan is going to be determined with one red line.
5 minutes, it was red. Positive.
His hands are shaking and his breathing turning raggard, he crumbles. He looks at the pregnancy test kit he had tried. His eyes quickly moved his eyes to the other one.
Only one line appears.
Geonyeob knew he should have bought and tried more testpacks instead of trusting one of the two he tried.
However, humans will always prefer to believe what they want to believe.
Therefore, Geonyeob threw away the two test kits he tried. With all his confidence, he put his trust in the one that did not show two lines. After all, it was just one night. One mistake.
He decides to take a bath as he is already in the bathroom when his phone rings again, shocking him while he’s still overwhelmed with emotion.
