Chapter 1: Rumble in the Prehistoric Jungle
Chapter Text
So, It’s a Mystery Watch
Rumble in the Prehistoric Jungle
Izuku heard birds chirping and felt sunlight hit his face. He ignored it until he felt something sharp lightly tap him on the cheek. Grumbling, he swatted at the offending object.
“SQWUAK!”
“AH!” Izuku frantically swatted at the now angry seagull. Without thinking, he reached down to activate the watch on his wrist and slammed the dial down. A bright green flash filled the air and the seagull screeched as it found itself launched by the sheer expanding mass of the boy it had tried to scavenge.
Its eyes bulged out of their sockets when it saw what the boy had done.
In the place of the short, green haired young man, a towering reptilian stood in his place. It had brown skin with a beige underbelly. It possessed four-fingered hands with a strong tail.
Izuku grumbled as he watched the startled bird fly away. His clutched at his pounding head as his stomach grumbled loudly, and he couldn’t tell if it was upset or hunger.
“Where am I?”
He felt sand shift beneath his feet and saw waves lap against the shore. Turning, he saw gigantic trees as far as the eye could see.
“Last thing I remember-” Izuku’s jaw tightened. He gritted his teeth. “…I need to find out where I am.”
Izuku swiveled his head, but saw no dock, no boats, no sign of any human activity. Turning around, he made a decision.
“Omnitrix, Life Form Lock mode.”
Steeling his nerves as the watch hummed in acknowledgment, Humungosaur trudged into the jungle.
The air was thick with mist and filled with the calls of birds Izuku had never heard before. He had been walking for a few minutes and not a sign of civilization. There wasn’t a single building, sign, or trail.
The area was completely untouched by human hands.
“This place smells a little like rotten eggs,” Izuku mused aloud. “Some sort of sulfur deposits? I’ll either find some miners, or I am very far from civilization. Wait a second…” Izuku’s eyes widened as he bright light in the distance: a clearing! Rushing forward, he broke out into open air to be met with…
“Volcanoes,” Izuku breathed in shock as he saw a cluster of them in the distance.
“I’ve never even heard of a place with three active volcanoes like that. Also, what’s with those mountains?! They’re enormous and full of holes! Am I even still in Asia? Have I ended up on some uncharted island? Have-”
Izuku descended into speculation and panic as just how unfathomably lost he was set in. To the point he didn’t notice the predator sneaking up on him until it tried snapped its jaws onto him.
“YAAAHHH!!” Izuku screamed as felt the dagger sharp teeth cut into his flesh. Instinctually, he slammed one hand into the beast’s tongue and punched as hard as he could into the roof of its mouth. Feeling the beast’s grip loosen, Izuku began to grow, keeping his arms out to hold off the creature’s teeth.
The beast in question tried to snap its jaws shut again before the increasing weight and size of its prey forced it to let go.
Izuku plummeted to the ground and rolled to his knees. Standing before him was an absolutely massive sauropod of some form, its teeth dripping with Vaxasaurian blood. Eager for an even larger meal and goaded by the smell of blood, it charged forward.
Izuku ran to meet it.
“Tyrannic Lariat” Izuku yelled as his arm crashed into a Sauropod’s head. The beast stumbled back and shook the cobwebs. Its eyes narrowed and it lowered its body to ready a charge. Gritting his teeth, Izuku shrank back down and ran at the beast.
“Pachycephaly Punish!” His head slammed into the dinosaur’s as he grew into his full size, the increased mass and acceleration of his changing shape further stumbling the creature. Not letting up, Izuku crouched low and leaped upwards to destroy the dinosaur’s chin, exploiting his size-shifting once again.
The sauropod crashed to the ground, unconscious at the least. Izuku panted with exertion as the adrenaline wore off.
“What kind of place is this!?” He screamed to the heavens. He winced, the scream aggravating the wounds the initial bite gave him.
‘These are fairly deep, but it looks like Humungosaur’s ribs were too strong for the teeth to get through and it missed my spine.’
Reaching to his chest, Izuku was just about to tap the omnitrix symbol to turn into Swampfire when the ground began to shake once more.
“Hello! It sounded like someone got hurt. These dinos have a nasty bite you know,” a deep voice thundered out from the trees.
‘The volume of that voice, the shaking… A To’Kustar? Gigantification?’ Izuku forced himself to relax. It was best to assume a friendly than to start an unnecessary fight.
Out of the tree line stepped the largest man Izuku had ever seen. A giant of 22 meters that outshone even Humungosaur’s massive frame.
‘He’s even taller than Mt. Lady! There’s no way I wouldn’t have heard of him. And those clothes…’
The giant man blinked in shock at the lizard man in front of him.
“Hello there. When I heard such a booming voice, I had expected to see another warrior of Elbaf, not a Devil Fruit user.”
“Devil Fruit?” Izuku whispered under his breath before he grunted in pain.
“Oh, apologies my friend. My name is Dorry, welcome to Little Garden. Come with me to my camp and we can see about patching you up.”
‘Little Garden? I’ve never heard about it or Elbaf. Am I even in my universe anymore?’
“Thanks, I would appreciate it,” Izuku replied aloud as he began to walk towards the man.
“No worries my friend. It will be nice to have company again.” He looked down at the fallen dinosaur. “Do you mind if I have some of your kill? I haven’t had a chance to hunt dinner today.”

Chapter Text
A CENTURY SPANNING DUEL
Humungosaur sat on a log at Dorry's camp and winced at the foul odor of the cream placed upon his wounds. The substance was dark green and stunk to high heaven. It was some sort of salve made from the local plants that Dorry had invented a few years into his exile.
"Thanks for patching me up, sir."
"No problems lad," Dorry stated as he roasted a chunk of dino over a fire. "Now, I can imagine why someone with a fruit like yours would come to Little Garden, but where's your crew?"
"I don't have one. Last thing I remember, I was…" Izuku trailed off before scowling. "I was fighting one nasty villain. I remember smashing him into the ground before there was some blinding light and I woke up on the shore with a seagull pecking at me."
Izuku leaned forward, grunting in pain again.
"So, are giants like yourself local to Little Garden? It seems like there's enough food."
"Oh, there is another giant here, but we're not locals. Broggy and I came to this island 100 years ago in order to settle things. You see- ". A loud explosion sounded through the air. "Oh, apologies friend, but it is time once again for us to face each other. We agreed to face each other each time the volcanoes erupt. Elbaf willing, I'll return."
Izuku watched as the giant man trudged away with his sword in tow.
'So, these giants live for hundreds of years. But what could take 100 years to settle?' He raised his hand and waved to the leaving giant. "I wish you luck in your battle!"
"Thanks, lad!"
Izuku curled in on himself, making a show of his injuries acting up, just in case Dorry came back. Once sure that Dorry would not return, he reached for the omnitrix symbol.
Dorry slashed at Brogy who expertly blocked it with his shield before elbowing Dorry in the stomach. The taller giant barely bringing his shield up to block the subsequent slash.
"The power of their blows," Izuku watched from the sidelines. "I think they could have defeated Gigantomachia if their weapons weren't so poor."
Each slash was parried with practiced skill, their weapons chipping a little bit more.
"They surely can't do this for much longer."
As if on cue, both warriors stuck the other in the face with their shield.
"73,452 fights…"
"…and 73,452 draws."
Both warriors collapsed to the ground.
"Gegyagyagyag! It looks like we tied again old friend!"
"Gabababa! So it seems!"
'Friend?' Izuku 's eye narrowed. His four-fingered fist clenched.
"You know, I got some company at my camp. A user of the fruit, ancient Zoan by the looks of him! Says he ended up here by accident!"
"Really now!? I don't think I've ever seen one before."
"It was a shock to me too, I'll ask if he's okay with you seeing him. He's so skittish about his predicament that he's stayed in hybrid form the entire time. Doesn't help that a sauropod took a bit out of him."
Broggy began to rise, concern in his tone. "He still have all his limbs?"
Izuku took that as his cue to return, nothing standing in the way of his spectral form as he fled through the trees.
Izuku grunted as he landed and switched back from Ghostfreak. "Still feels like I'm about to fall into two pieces."
He looked down at the device on his arm, "Omnitrix, synthesize a pair of shorts similar to Humungosaur's." With a bright flash of light, Izuku was changed out. Fortunately, the salve was still in place and hid his unblemished skin.
'They're friends?' Izuku climbed onto the log he had been sitting on earlier. 'What could possess friends to fight each other like that?'
Before Izuku could ruminate further, the ground began to quake.
Looking up, he saw a very surprised Dorry, still bloodied from his fight.
"Wow, you wouldn't reach the waist of your hybrid form," Dorry let out a wet cough, some blood flecking his hand. "How are your wounds?"
Izuku smiled and shot the giant a thumbs up. "I feel better already. I can already heal pretty quickly and your salve just helped me further." Izuku flexed a bit, wincing only slightly.
"I knew Zoans healed quickly, but I never knew they were so miraculous. Must be a perk of having an ancient one. Gegya! Good for you, lad. Glad to see you're comfortable enough now to revert to your true self."
Izuku shot the giant a smile and reached for some of the meat he had left on the log. Even having grown cold, it was remarkably good.
"Dorry-san, do you think you could tell me now why you and Broggy fight?"
Dorry tore the remaining leg from their meal and sat across from Izuku.
"Of course, lad. You see, on Elbaf, our homeland, nothing is more important than a man's honor! So whenever a dispute occurs that cannot be settled with words, we warriors of Elbaf have ourselves a duel. Elbaf is just and he'll ensure the survival of the righteous…
