Work Text:
Trent crumpled up yet another piece of paper and threw it in the trash. At this point it was overflowing, and all of it was trash paper. He was trying to write a song. A brand new song that he had every intention of playing at the next Drama Brothers concert. This song was very important to him.
Trent was a huge fan of over the top romantic gestures. He saw them as the perfect way to let someone know exactly how you felt about them. He wanted to use this song to confess to someone. That someone was a guy named Noah. Noah had shoulder length brown hair, tan skin, half lidded brown eyes, and skinny frame. He wore three layers of shirt, a red sweater vest, blue button up, and long sleeved white undershirt along with a pair of shorts and hiking boots.
Trent had met Noah on Total Drama and at first he didn't think much of him. He had been eliminated third, and Trent was smitten with Gwen at the time. Then season two came along and he'd ruined everything with the goth. He'd gotten eliminated and gone to the aftermath studio. Many people offered their condolences to him. Maybe it was wrong of him, but he didn't want condolences. It simply reminded him of how much he'd screwed up.
So Trent found himself hanging out with Noah a lot of the time. The cynic wasn't critical of his choice, but he also wasn't telling him how bad he felt for him. It was refreshing. Noah just acted like Trent was another person, rather than someone who'd just had a break up after driving his girlfriend away with his OCD breakdown.
Not that anyone actually knew about his OCD. Trent was on medications for it so it was usually under his control. The fact was however that while the medication helped immensely if he was under enough stress he'd still have breakdowns. There wasn't too much that stressed him out in season one. The challenges were a lot, but he handled them fine, except for the brunch of disgustingness. That pizza had really floored him.
It was only when Gwen started getting a little too close to a Duncan that he started to stress. Mainly because Gwen was his first girlfriend, and he was so happy to have finally made a step towards his dream of having a relationship. The idea of her leaving him, for Duncan of all people, had eaten away at his mind until even his medication wasn't enough.
So having Noah treat him the exact same way he'd treated him before his little meltdown meant a lot to Trent. It was nice having someone not make a big deal out of it. He learned more about the cynic. He liked video games, he was good at hacking, literature was a cornerstone of his life because Noah understood books better than people. Slowly, Trent stopped dwelling on Gwen and started to fall for Noah instead.
Now he was in a boyband, and Noah was Chris' assistant. Not that Trent had told anyone this, as he knew Noah was trying to keep a low profile. The main reason he even knew about it was because Noah told him. Trent had given his number to Noah after season two, and one day he saw a text asking if he minded Noah venting a bit. Trent had replied that he hadn't, and so Noah often sent him texts complaining about how much being Chris' assistant sucked.
Trent had managed to convince Noah to come to the Drama Brother's newest concert. It hadn't been easy, especially since Chris apparently ran Noah ragged, but after a month of asking he'd agreed. Which was great because now he'd know Noah was there when he sang his confession song.
Once he'd come up with the lyrics. He sighed. How did he do this? What could he possibly write to explain just how much he appreciated Noah. How much he adored his little quirks. Like the way his brow would furrow when he was lost in thought. His habit of resting his hand on his hip like he was some kind of fashion model. The way his face would light up when he was geeking out about something he actually liked. The way his would occasionally twirl his hair around his finger when he was reading.
A shot of inspiration hit Trent. He finally knew what to write, and the rest of the night went by quickly. When he met up with his bandmates the next day he showed them the song.
"Trent this is the sweetest song you've ever written. I'm gonna have to use it at some point." Cody remarked.
"I can't help but notice a lack of beatboxing." Harold pouted.
"Dude, it just doesn't go with the vibe of the song. It's nothing personal." He explained. "Justin what do you think?"
"I think the lyrics don't really matter. Everyone will go crazy just from me being on stage." The model smirked, flashing his teeth.
"Whatever." Trent huffed. "So can we perform it?"
"Definitely! The girls will go crazy." Cody said.
"Sure." Justin remarked.
"I guess." Harold sighed.
"Look Harold, I will let you have an entire intermission to beatbox if you let me perform this." Trent explained.
"Deal." The nerd said.
The wait until their concert in the evening was hard but Trent managed. When they all stepped out on the stage the fangirls erupted. Trent ignored them as he looked through the crowd for the one face he wanted to be here. He finally found him in a back corner looking like he wanted to leave.
After the first two songs, Trent announced he was singing a new one. The crowd went wild as he said the song went out someone important. He began to sing, about how beautiful Noah's brown hair was, about how much he enjoyed Noah's passion for video games, about how the thorns on his steam did not make the rose any less desirable in his eyes. His eyes met with Noah's. He could tell from the cynic's wide eyes that he had figured out the song was for him. When he finish there was silence for a moment, then the crowd went crazy. Trent introduced Harold's intermission and stepped off stage for a break.
He'd given Noah a backstage pass in the hopes that he would meet him after the song. His heat soared when the cynic walked in. "So," He smirked.
"You are such a hopeless romantic." Noah scoffed.
"Well you know how I feel now." Trent said.
"You know you could have just told me." The cynic pointed out.
"That wouldn't have been enough." He said sincerely.
"More than enough for me." Noah said. Silence between them for a moment.
"So, do you li-" Trent was unable to finish his sentence as Noah's lips connected with his. The kiss was chaste as Noah pulled away immediately.
"Sorry, I just didn't know what to say." The cynic admitted.
Trent couldn't help but smirk at him. "I've put the quip king at a loss of words?"
"Don't make a big deal out of it." Noah snarked.
Trent cupped Noah's cheek and enjoyed the blush that lit the smaller male's face. "I won't." And with that he kissed Noah again.
