Chapter 1: Say’ri x Frederick
Notes:
First one’s is Frederick. I hand picked several units that I think would either fit Say’ri as a partner or clash with her in a funny way. Frederick is first since we’re going in order.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Ha, milady, I was hoping to see you today.” Frederick asked as he walked up to Say’ri.
“What is it you need?” Say’ri asked.
“Well, milord Chrom has given me additional orders to safe guard you. With the war going on, he figured you’d be prime for an attack.” Frederick said.
“An attack! tis fine, sir Frederick! I’ve survived numerous assignation attempts. The scars on my body prove it.” Say’ri said.
“But still, I’d sleep better knowing you’re safe.” Said Frederick. “I apologize, Milady, but as a knight, I am trained to protect a member of royalty no matter what. Rather they be of House Ylisse or House Chon’sin.”
“You’re a stubborn as an ox, Sir Frederick.” Say’ri smiled at him. “I respect that in a soldier.”
“It is my job to always keep watch of the shepherds.” Frederick said. “So whatever you need, let me know and I shall help you.”
“Well I would love my katana to be resharpened.” Say’ri handed Frederick her sword. “My blade has gotten dull and I’d need it good as new for next battle. Would you mind?”
“Say no more, milady.” Frederick smiled as he took Say’ri’s blade from her. “I will get to work on it.”
“Thank you, Fie.” Say’ri smiled at the knight as he left to go sharpen her blade.
(Say’ri and Frederick have achieved support level C)
“Ah, milady, you’ve awakened, I’ve prepared you some tea to start out the day.” Frederick said next to Say’ri’s bed.
“Fie, have you been here all night?” Say’ri arched her brow as she questioned the knight in front of her.
“Far from it, milady. I was delivering the tea for you to wake up to when I saw you stiring yourself awake.” Frederick explained.
“That could be an excuse anyone would use.” Say’ri pondered. “But I’m inclined to believe you, given your station. I know you have no ill intentions with me.”
“That is true milady.” Frederick smiled. “Anyhow, I prepared you a light breakfast to start the day. Scrambled Eggs and sausages with a biscuit. I hope it is to your liking.”
“Sir Frederick, you didn’t have to make me breakfast. I could’ve done it myself.” Say’ri’s eyes widened.
“No, I insist, milady.” Frederick said. “After all, I’d need you to feel as comfortable fighting with the shepherds as anyone else.”
“Sir, Frederick, I truly appreciate you looking out for me, but I’m already independent. Do you not remember my part in the resistance?” Say’ri asked.
Frederick then got guilty. “I apologize milady. It’s just, well, I was trained since a young age to always serve nobles and royalty and assist them in daily tasks.”
“I see.” Say’ri said. “I’ve been so used to constantly being on the run and living the life of a fugitive that I forgot how royalty is treated. And frankly, I think I prefer to be independent. But I truly appreciate you looking out for me.”
“Well either way, I’m sorry milady. Lord Chrom has warned me that I am too dedicated to my job.” Frederick said.
“Don’t be sorry, sir Frederick.” Say’ri smiled. “Fie, since you’re here, why don’t you join me for breakfast.”
“I shouldn’t, Milady.” Frederick got nervous.
“Please, join me as a friend, not as a servant.” Say’ri said as she started pouring tea on an extra cup for her guest.
“Well, if you insist, milady.” Frederick smiled.
(Say’ri and Frederick have achieved support level B)
“Gods, this hurts!” Frederick grumbled as he soothed his gashes. Just now, after a particular violent skirmish, Frederick was busy getting mended by a healer.
“All the wounds are patched up, sir Frederick. I’ll leave you here to rest.” The cleric said.
“Thank you, milady.” Frederick smiled as the cleric left.
“Sir, Frederick, I came as soon as I could.” Say’ri entered his tent to see him.
“Relax milady, I’ll be fine.” Frederick said. “It’s you that I should be worried about. That risen would’ve killed you had I not noticed.”
“Haha, please my senses are so great, I’ll notice anything.” Say’ri smiled. “Frederick, you need to be careful. If that Rosen had gotten you, I would never forgive myself for Chrom’s losing a friend.”
“My life is for Chrom and Lissa, they know full well I would die if they have a chance to live.” Frederick explained. “I would risk myself for them, just like I risked myself for you.”
“But why? I am not your charge. I shouldn’t be your responsibility.” Said Say’ri.
“I apologize milady.” Said Frederick. “No matter what, my training will kick in to protect those in need. Whether they be my charge or not.”
“I guess that’s fair.” Said Say’ri. “But I wish that you would stop looking at me as a princess and start at me as a friend.”
“Well a friend would risk themselves to save another. Is that right?” Frederick replied.
“You bring up a good point. I guess I have a lot to learn when it comes to allies.” Said Say’ri. “Living as a fugitive, I couldn’t trust most people. So seeing you go through all these hoops and hurdles for me was jarring.”
“Don’t worry milady, from now on, I’ll only protect you on the battlefield. But once we’re in camp you’ll be on your own.” Smiled Frederick.
“I can agree to that, Fie.” Said Say’ri. “But still thank you, sir Frederick. I appreciate all you’ve done for me here.”
“Anything for a friend.” Said Frederick.
(Say’ri and Frederick have achieved support level A)
“Milady, I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time?” Asked Frederick.
“Ah, Sir Frederick, it’s been a while since you and I have spoken as friends.” Said Say’ri. “Honestly, I missed your company.”
“Well being the retainer to both Chrom and Lissa does eat up a lot of time.” Said Frederick. “Time I could be using on more important matters.”
“Like what?” Say’ri asked.
“Matters of the heart.” Said Frederick.
“What?” Say’ri’s eyes went wide at what she heard.
“To be truthful to you, princess, Lord Chrom never asked me to look after you.” Said Frederick. “I did it because I thought…”
“You thought what?” She arched her brow at him.
“Because I thought you were beautiful.” This got Say’ri to blush as Frederick continued. “I tried desperately to put those thoughts aside? But the more time I spent, The more I fell for you!”
“Oh, Frederick.” Say’ri smiled at him.
“I couldn’t imagine a future without you anymore, milady.” Said Frederick. “Which is why I told Lord Chrom that once the war with Grima is over with, I’ll be leaving his and Lissa’s services.”
“You’re resigning your post from the two people that mean the most to you? For me?” She asked.
“Yes. And to prove how dedicated I am to you,” Frederick then got out a small velvet box and opened it. “Princess Say’ri, will you make me the happiest man in the world by being your knight? Will you marry me?”
“Fie! Yes! Yes, I will!” Say’ri welled up as she hugged Frederick. “Tis wonderful to be with the man I love. I promise you that life in Chon’sin will be hard to adjust, but you will love it none the less.”
“As long as I’m with you, Milady, I’ll be happy.” Frederick smile as she held her close.
“Come we must tell everyone of our engagement.” Say’ri said as she let go of Frederick. “And I must find you a retainer of your own.”
“Oh boy.” Was all Frederick could say.
(Say’ri and Frederick have reached support level S)
After returning to Chon’sin, Say’ri worked tirelessly with the other dynasty’s to secure a peaceful future for the Valmese continent. Her husband, Frederick, had taken the opportunity to train the Chon’sin army to become stronger than it ever was before. Though the two had a lot of duties, they were said to enjoy the time they had with each other.
Notes:
Well that was fun. Thank you for read this silly support and I hope you all have a nice day. See you next chapter with Stahl.
Chapter 2: Say’ri x Stahl
Notes:
Okay so this chapter is an Easter egg to an old FE fanfic called “Endless Sacrifice by DDerMeister, who hasn’t uploaded since 2015 so good luck being a fan of his. His story, which is complete don’t worry, had a passing mention of Stahl getting close to Say’ri. I was like “if you want to have the best waifu get married, you gotta develope it” so here’s me fixing his mistake!
Also please go read it, it’s actually pretty decent.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Stahl was busy on kitchen duty. The only issue, he wasn’t one for cooking. Eating a meal, now that was his specialty. But cooking, there was pressure there.
“Alright, here are instructions for beef stu. Let’s hope I don’t mess it up.” Said Stahl
“Sir, stahl, I was hoping to catch you.” Say’ri asked as she entered the kitchen tent.
“Princess, you don’t need to call me “sir”, just stahl is fine.” He smiled at the princess.
“Fie, in that case, you don’t need to call me princess.” Say’ri said. “Tis hoping you’d make me a light meal today.” She handed him a recipe. “Tis a recipe for Miso Soup, a Chon’sin delicacy. I’d hope you could make it for me.”
“Are you sure about this?” Stahl asked. “I was getting started on beef stu for everyone.”
“Fie, I’ve eaten so much of Ylissean food since I’ve joined your group, I kind of missed food for my homeland.” Said Say’ri. “If you don’t want to, it’s fine. I suppose it was too much of a request when you’re feeding an entire army.”
Seeing the frown on her face, stahl was quick to take action. “Don’t worry Say’ri, I’ll get started right away.” He took the recipe from Say’ri.
“Thank you, Fie. I look forward to it.” Say’ri gave him a kind smiled.
(Break)
Dinner had come and gone, most of the shepherds were happy with Stahl’s beef stu, though one particular member wanted carrot stu instead. But stahl was focused on the Miso soup he made for Say’ri.
“So, what do you think? Do you like it?” Stahl asked worriedly.
“Fie, tis… okay.” Say’ri said. “Normally I made my own food on the run, so I’m used to how I cooked. But having someone of a different nation produce something I’m used to was expecting too much.”
“I’m sorry, Say’ri.” Stahl frowned.
“Don’t be! I didn’t say it was bad either.” Say’ri made quick to compliment him. “Why don’t I teach you how to cook Chon’sin food?”
“Alright then.” Stahl said. “I promise not to let you down.”
(Say’ri and Stahl have reached support level C)
“Alright Stahl, thank you for coming tonight.” Say’ri greeted stahl as he he entered her tent.
“No problem Say’ri.” Said stahl. “Since I'm not too familiar with Chon’sin cuisines, I'm hoping I can improve a bit.”
“Of course, Fie. First why don’t we start by trying my miso soup. I prepared it for you so you can have a better understanding once you begin cooking it.” Say’ri said as she handed the plate to stahl.
“Alright, bottoms up!” Stahl said as he happily scarfed down the soup. “Woah! That soup was amazing. Honestly, it tasted better then how I made it.”
“I’m glad you liked it. It takes a lot of practice to be a profession. Tis how you’ve become a successful cavalier.” Said Say’ri.
“Oh it did. A lot of the knights always outpaced me.” Said Stahl. “Everyone was simply better at it than me, and I was afraid they’d realize how useless I was and kick me out. But thankfully after a pep talk from Chrom, I managed to pull through. And that’s how I became the knight I am today.”
“Well I respect those who always try.” Say’ri smiled. “Alright, now let’s start. Hopefully with some help, you’ll be a master of Chon’sin cuisine.”
“I’ll settle for being ‘just good’ at it.” Stahl smiled nervously.
(Break)
“So what did you think? Was it any better?” Stahl asked nervously.
“Relax, Fie. You did fine.” Say’ri smiled at him. “It may not be exactly what I’m used to, though given how I’ve grown up royal, my standard were unfairly high before.”
“Thanks, Say’ri.” Stahl said. “Eating your soup before beginning at own made me better at making it. Plus, I was a little hungry.”
“When are you not hungry?” Say’ri asked.
“Fair enough.” Said stahl as he took a sip from the miso soup pot. “It does need a tad bit more salt.”
“Well whatever it is, I’m sure you’ll do great.” Say’ri said. “Now let’s go on with egg Fried rice. Another favorite of mine.”
“Two meals in one day. Well don’t mind if I do.” Stahl smiled as he began to follow Say’ri’s instructions.
(Say’ri and stahl have reached support level B)
Today was the big day, stahl was preparing a Chon’sin dish for the shepherds, so he was busy preparing it. Just then, Say’ri entered the kitchen to greet stahl.
“Ah stahl, tis great of you to show off your skills to the shepherds.” Said Say’ri.
“Thanks. But I am a little nervous.” Said stahl. “I mean you and I enjoyed the fried rice I made, but what if the others don’t like it.”
“It’s fine to be nervous, but I’m sure you’ll do fine. The shepherds have been your friends for years. Whatever happens, I’m sure they’ll like the meal you made. I know I did.”
“Alright. Well here goes nothing.” Stahl took a deep breath before cracking his knuckles and preparing the dish.
(Break)
“That was a great meal, stahl. I’m impressed by how you made it.” Chrom smiled as he left the kitchen.
“Yeah, Chon’sin has amazing food, I hope to try more after this war.” Lissa said before leaving the tent.
“You have more than earned the respect of the shepherds tonight, stahl. Thank you.” Frederick complimented him as he left.
“Thank you all I appreciate it.” Stahl sighed happily before turning to Say’ri. “Thank you so much for helping me with all this. Between this war and all the craziness in the world, I’m happy to unite the shepherds with a meal from Chon’sin.”
“Fie, I am thankful as well.”said Say’ri. “I miss my homeland terribly, but I appreciate all the lengths you’ve gone through to help remind me of Chon’sin. You truly are a good friend.”
“Anything for you, Say’ri.” Stahl said. “And listen, if you ever want another Chon’sin meal, let me know and I’ll happily cook one for you.”
“Well now that you bring that up, I am still feeling a little
Hungry.” Say’ri said. “All that training I did today really does built up an appetite.”
“Say no more. I’ll get started right away from you.” Stahl said.
“Actually, I’m thinking of some beef stu this time around.” Said Say’ri.
“I got you.” Stahl smiled as he began to make the beef stu for Say’ri.
(Say’ri and stahl have reached support level A)
“Say’ri, you got a minute, I was hoping I could speak to you.” Stahl asked.
“Fie, of course I have time for my you.” Say’ri smiled as she greeted stahl. “So what is it you need?”
“Well, it’s about Chon’sin. Do you, by any chance, have a retainer?” Stahl asked.
“Unfortunately he died while I was a fugitive.” Say’ri said. “He was the one who taught me how to cook.”
“I’m sorry to hear about that.” Said Say’ri.
“Oh don’t be. He loves inside the memories I have growing up with him. The food I taught you was all his secrets. He was practically like a second father to me.” Say’ri smiled. “But why do you ask?”
“Well, I was hoping to become your retainer. I was hoping I’d swear my allegiance to you and serve you.” Stahl said. “If you’ll have me of course.”
“No!” Say’ri said.
“What? But how come?” Stahl asked.
“I can’t have you as a retainer. You mean to much to be a simple servant to me. You’re my friend stahl, and I can’t put you in that position of a retainer.” Said Say’ri.
“It’s just, I have grown fond of you. I always love spending time with you and after all that time cooking, I was hoping being your retainer would help me get close to you.” Said stahl.
“Stahl, you don’t need to be my retainer to be close to me.” Say’ri smiled at him. “I love you the way you are.”
“W-what? Did I just hear that?” Stahl’s eyes went wide.
“I’m not oblivious, you know.” Say’ri said. “And besides. I know you feel the same for me, do you not?”
Stahl then sighed as he rubbed his neck. He then got done on one knee. “Say’ri, you mean the most to me. All that time we spent cooking made me fall fro you. And I hope to continue getting better with you. Will you marry me?”
Say’ri sniffled as she smiled at stahl. “Yes! Yes of course I will. I promise you Chon’sin’s beauty will be worth leaving Ylisse.”
“I know as long as I'm with you, I’ll be fine.” stahl said.
“Now, let us go to dinner. I want to ankincr my husband to the army at once.” Say’ri said as she grabbed Stahl’s hand as they went for the dining hall.
(Say’ri and stahl have reached support level S)
After returning to Chon’sin, Say’ri worked tirelessly with the other dynasts to secure a peaceful future for the valmes continent. Her husband, Stahl, was always there to support her. His cooking was said to be almost as impressive as his eating as the two lived a happy life.
Notes:
Well that was fun. A lot of things keep happening for the best waifu. Let’s hope we can continue with Kellam. See you later. Bye!!!
Chapter 3: Say’ri x Kellam
Notes:
Ah Kellam, one of the more underrated FE husbandos. A shame he isn’t seen in too many stories. So here’s hoping I can do him Justice.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Sir Kellam, do you have a moment to talk?” Say’ri asked as she walked up to the man in the suit of armor.
“Princess, you noticed me?” Kellam wondered.
“Well of course I did. You are my comrade, are you not.” Said Say’ri. “I wanted to ask you a question.”
“Sure. Go right ahead.” Said kellam. “Honestly I’m a little surprised. Most people simply ignore me. They pretend I don’t exist.”
“Well those people are fooslish.” Say’ri commented. “Fie, I’ve seen you in the battle field and I must say, your skills are impressive to say the least.”
“Thank you, ma’am.” Kellam smiled.
“But, you seem to be a little too slow for my liking. One thunder strike from a mage and you’ll be history.” Say’ri crossed her eyes. “And that’s something we can’t do.”
“I apologize ma’am. But this suit of armor is extremely heavy. It makes it difficult to be fast while wearing it.” Kellam explained.
“Then why would you wear it?” Say’ri raised her brow in annoyance at Kellam’s reasoning. “Perhaps you’d be well suited as a Myrmidon.”
“Oh, no no no, ma’am. I’d prefer to stick where I am as a knight.” Kellam shook his head in fear.
“I’ll have none of it!” Say’ri crossed her arms. “Fie, Come by the training barracks later on and I’ll teach how to be a sword fighter. Tis great to try out new things.”
“Y-yes ma’am.” Kellam nervously said.
“Perfect.” And with that, Say’ri left the armored, soon to be, Myrmidon man.
(Kellam and Say’ri have achieved Support level C)
“HYAH!” Say’ri strikes kellam as the man used his sword to block her attack.
Gone was his heavy armor he would wear frequently and instead he was wearing a samurai outfit Say’ri had picked out for him.
“Fie, you’re a quick learner. A much better opponent than I would’ve anticipated!” Say’ri smiled at her new samurai. “Not to mention you abandoned your armor in exchange for a Myrmidon outfit. I’d say it suits you better.”
“Thanks, I have prowess in the art of the sword.” Said Kellam. “Comes in handy when your lance breaks and you have to use a back up weapon.”
“It’d be better if you didn’t walk around with that foolish armor!” Say’ri said. “Are you trying to be a walking target. Fie, tis nothing but slowing you down.”
“I get that a lot.” Kellam said. “Mostly from Chrom. But I’ve managed to go through dozens of battles and not one scratch on me.”
“Well then, let’s hope you continue that record, sir Kellam.” Say’ri smiled as she sat down on a crate.
“Princess, mind if I ask you a question?” Kellam asked as Say’ri knodded. “Why are you so focused on swordsmen ship. I understand you’re looking for a new retainer but you seem to take your art to a new level.”
“No offense Kellam, but swordsmen ship is everything to Chon’sin.” Say’ri sighed. “My kingdom, a small but prosperous land, had perfected the use of the katana. But now that we’ve fallen to Valm, I wish to continue my teachings.”
“That’s understandable.” Kellam smiled. “Honestly, you’ve shown a whole new side to me, princess.”
“As do you, sir Kellam.” Say’ri smiled. “I don’t understand how you get overlooked, you clearly are a capable warrior.”
“I try but people just don’t seem to notice me.” Kellam sighed. “One time, the shepherds went on a quest without me and when Chrom found me, he forgot my name.”
“Well don’t worry, sir Kellam. As long as you’re with me, I’ll always notice you.” Say’ri said confidently. She then smiled as an idea sprung to her head. “In fact, why don’t I make you my new retainer, I think great things may come from this.”
“Of course, princess.” Kellam said enthusiastically. “I’d be more than honored.
“Fantastic, you are now a warrior for Chon’sin.” Say’ri said. “Care for another spar.”
“Of course princess.” Kellam said. “I think I’m getting the hang of it.”
“Haha, don’t get comfortable.” Say’ri laughed. “I was going easy on you!”
Kellam simply gulped.
(Kellam and Say’ri have achieved support level B)
“Ow! Ow!” Kellam grunted. Their most recent battle hadnt ended too well for the former knight turned Samurai. His first injury, and it was all to protect his new charge.
“Fie, I’m so sorry.” Say’ri apologizes to her Samurai as she tended his wounds. “Tis my fault you got hurt. I almost lost my new retainer.”
“It’s fine, princess. Really.” Kellam grunted. “I just don’t understand, normally when I jump in front of an enemy from attacking my friends, I never get hurt.”
“Normally you’re wearing a suit of armor.” Say’ri corrected him. “Here though, this Myrmidon outfit leaves little defense.”
“It’s fine. I guess some people aren’t meant for the art of the sword.” Kellam said as he drank a concoction to heal himself.
“Fie, I’d hope you’d learn from this though.” Say’ri said. “I know I have, maybe you are better as a walking suit of armor after all.”
“Are you sure, all that training we did-“ Kellam started.
“It’s fine.” Say’ri insisted. “Some people are just more suited to one fighting style than another. Either way, I know you’ll do a good job protecting your friends.”
“You thinks so?” Kellam asked.
“Of course.” Say'ri said. “Even if they’re unappreciative and barely notice you.”
“This again.” Kellam sighed.
Just then, Chrom walked into the tent, followed by Frederick and Lissa.
“Here he is, our new hero.” Chrom said.
“Huh?” Kellam got confused.
“We saw how you fought back there, sir Kellam.” Frederick said.
“Yeah, you were so brave and cool.” Lissa piped.
“A fine example of Ylisse’s greatest, one I’m proud to fight alongside with.” Chrom complimented him.
“Now hold still while I heal you.” Lissa got out her staff and used her magic to start healing kellam.
Kellam simply smiled. “Thank you! Thank you all so much.”
“Well what do you know, you are noticed.” Say’ri smiled at them.
(Kellam and Say’ri have achieved support level A)
Kellam was happy, he was back at his old armor while now finally being acknowledged by the rest of the shepherds. Life seemed good for the knight.
“It sure feels great to be a walking suit of armor again.” Kellam smiled.
“Sir Kellam, glad I found you.” Say’ri said.
“Princess, what do you need?” Kellam asked.
“Fie, I have a new proposition for you.” Say’ri said. “One that I think you may be interested in.”
“You want me to be a ninja?” Kellam guessed.
“Nonsense.” Say’ri said. “I simply wish to instead have your hand in marriage.”
“Why that’s very sweet, princess- wait what?” Kellam got confused once it processed what Say’ri meant.
“Fie, while it seems hard to believe, I’ve fallen for you.” Say’ri admitted. “You’ve shown yourself to be kind and brave, willing to risk yourself for your friends, even when they don’t notice you.”
“B-but your a princess, you could marry any man far more worthy than me!” Kellam said.
“Right now, you’re more than worthy to me.” Say’ri smiled. “I want my knight and shinning armor by my side. Is that so wrong?”
“No. No it’s not!” Kellam said. “I’d be more than happy to be your husband.”
“Wonderful!” Say’ri gleamed. “Tis fate that we happened to meet in this army, though I wished I had brought my ring with me to propose to you.”
“You had an engagement ring with you?” Kellam asked.
“Yes, but I left it and my other worldly possessions at the palace when I became a fugitive.” Say’ri admitted.
“Well it’s a good thing I bought this not too long ago.” Kellam then got on one knee and opened a velvet box to show her a simple but beautiful engagement ring.
“Fie, it’s beautiful!” Say’ri said with tears of joy in her eyes. “Hey! Wait a minute, were you secretly going to propose to me as well?”
“Hehe, you read my mind, princess.” Kellam smiled as he slipped the ring on Say’ri’s finger. “A perfect fit!”
“Just like us!” Say’ri smiled.
(Kellam and Say’ri have reached support level S!)
After returning to Chon'sin, Say'ri worked tirelessly with the other dynasts to secure a peaceful future for the Valmese continent. Her husband’s name has been lost to history.
Notes:
First of all, wow this took time. Lots of things were changing in my life so it made writing FanFiction difficult. But I got it done. That’s all that matters.
Anyways next chapter won’t take an eternity to release, as it’s with Lon’qu, and I already have an idea on where their support is going. So enjoy. See you all next time.
Chapter 4: Say’ri x Lon’qu
Summary:
Say’ri helps Lon’qu get rid of his old demons from the past.
Notes:
Woah this was quick. But like I said, I had an idea for this chapter and I wanted to see it realized.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Lon’qu wasn’t one might call a ladies man. In fact, his irrational fear of women is what kept him from finding a partner but right now, a certain swordmaster had piqued his interest.
“Princess Say’ri, good to see you again.” Lon’qu introduced himself.
“Lon’qu, it’s been years.” Say’ri beamed. “I haven’t seen you since… well the incident.”
“Yes, I know, which is why I wanted to talk to you.” Lon’qu admitted.
“Tis interesting you come seeking me out.” Say’ri said. “I’ve heard from our colleges that you have grown too afraid to talk to women. And yet here you are.”
“I’m shocked too, princess. But it’s something I need to do.” Said Lon’qu. “For her.”
“What happened to Ke’ri wasn’t your fault.” Say’ri insisted. “She was my friend too. I was heartbroken when she died but I was also hurt when you ran away. I thought I’d never see you again.”
“I’m sorry for worrying you milady.” Lon’qu said.
“Don’t call me that.” Say’ri said. “You’re my friend after all, even if we haven’t seen each other in years.”
“Thank you.” Lon’qu said. “To be honest, having not seen anyone from Chon’sin in years, it is a breath of fresh air to see a familiar face.”
“I could say the same for you.” Say’ri said.
“I wanted to ask you though, do you blame me for what happened to Ke’ri?” Lon’qu asked.
“Nonsense!” Say’ri shook her head at him. “She did the right thing by protecting you from brigands. You and I were her only friends and she’d do anything for us. She was just as brave as you are today.”
“I’m not as courageous as I wish I was.” Lon’qu grumbled.
“You may think that, but I’ve seen you in the battlefield.” Say’ri said. “You’ve shown to be protective of your allies and for that I thank you.”
“Thank you Say’ri.” Lon’qu smiled. “I’m glad fate managed for us to meet again.”
“Likewise old friend.” Say’ri smiled.
(Lon’qu and Say’ri have reached support level C)
Lon’qu huffed loudly as he continued his training on a practice dummy. That was the third one he went through and he still wasn’t satisfied. “HA! HYAH!”
“Anymore time you spent on those dummies and you might throw out your back.” Say’ri walked in the training tent.
“Just preparing for the next battle.” Lon’qu panted. “You can’t never be too sure.”
“Fie, tis a good idea to prepare for such but also a better idea to take a break.” Say’ri said.
“I guess.” Lon’qu sighed as he took a seat on a crate.
“…” Say’ri knew something was up with him. She needed to pry it out of him. “You seem lost in thought. What’s really going on your mind?”
“It’s about Ke’ri.” Lon’qu admitted. “No matter what, I can’t help but feel responsible for her death. I spend so much of my time trianing to make sure another friend doesn’t die on me. And then what happens, I end up not being able to save Emmeryn herself.”
“I understand where you’re coming from.” Say’ri said. “Chrom is your friend but I know he blames himself more than he blames his soldiers.”
“I still can’t help but feel somewhat responsible.” Lon’qu said. “If I had fought harder, Emmeryn would still be alive, hell, Ke’ri would still be alive.”
“One must not deal with the pressures of the past.” Say’ri said “lest he make new mistakes in the future. That is what my retainer told me. Before he passed.”
“I’m sorry for your loss.” Lon’qu said.
“Tis fine. He died fighting for someone he cared about.” Say’ri said. “Just like his daughter. Anyways I must get rest, try not to over do it tonight.”
“Of course, Say’ri. Good night.” With that, Say’ri left the training tent to get some shit eye, leaving Lon’qu to continue his training.
Just then his eyes widened in shock. “Wait a minute, ‘just like his daughter’ it can’t be!”
(Lon’qu and Say’ri have reached support level B)
“Say’ri, got a second?” Lon’qu ran up to Say’ri as she was walking out of her tent.
“Of course, I always have time for you my friend.” Say’ri smiled. “Take a walk with me.”
“Say’ri, you said your old retainer died protecting you, like his daughter.” Lon’qu said. “You don’t mean who I think you mean, do you.”
“I was hoping to find a better way to tell you.” Say’ri sighed. “Yes, Ren’fay was my retainer. He started working for me after Ke’ri died.”
“I never did get to apologize to him what happened.” Lon’qu looked down.
“Don’t bother, you are forgiven.” Say’ri said. “Before he died, he told me how much he regretted shunning you away. He saw you as a son just like how he saw me as a daughter.”
“That helps so much.” Lon’qu smiled. “Thank you Say’ri, I feel like I can finally be free from my guilt.”
“Of course, dear friend.” Say’ri smiled. “I hope this will help you get over your gynophobia.”
“Um… let’s take this one step at a time.” Lon’qu admitted.
“Pfft, Men!” Say’ri laughed a little.
(Lon’qu and Say’ri have reached support level A)
Lon’qu didn’t know how Say’ri convinced him to do this, but it was something he needed to do.
“Here we are.” Say’ri said she stood in front of a grave. “When I was one the run, I was forced to leave Ren’fay’s body behind. I wanted to bury him him next to Ke’ri but that couldn’t be done as a fugitive. I figured we could visit him here so you can make your peace.”
“Thank you, Say’ri.” Lon’qu then turned to the grave. “Ren’fay, it’s me, Lon’qu. It’s been a while since I’ve last seen you, and I’ve heard a lot about what you’ve done for Say’ri. I can’t thank you enough for looking after her.” He then looked down. “Listen, I’m sorry about what happened to Ke’ri. I hope you can forgive me in the after life, say hi to her for me.”
Lon’qu then turned to Say’ri. “Thank you, Say’ri, I finally feel liberated from all this.”
“Of course.” Say’ri said. “I’m glad I could help you here in forgiving yourself. May you and I continue to be friends.”
“Actually, I was hoping we could be more than that.” Lon’qu then got down on one knee and pulled out a velvet box. “Say’ri, you’ve done so much for me that I can’t help hit fall for you.”
“Oh Lon’qu, I’ve fallen for you too.” Say’ri said with tears of joy in her eyes. “Seeing you again after all these years helped ease my pain from being a fugitive.”
“Then, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” Lon’qu asked.
“Yes! Of course I will marry you!” Say’ri smiled as Lon’qu slipped the ring in her finger. “Tis fate that we happened to meet again, old friend.”
“Tis fate indeed.” Lon’qu smiled. “Fie, now I’m talking like you again.”
All Say’ri could do was laugh at her new fiancé.
(Lon’qu and Say’ri have reached support level S.)
After returning to Chon’sin, Say’ri worked tirelessly with the other dynasts to secure a peaceful future for the valmes continent. Her husband, Lon’qu acted as both her protector and her shoulder to lean on as the two lived a happy life.
Notes:
Well that was emotional but great to write none the less. Hoped you all liked it. Look forward to next chapter with Gregor. Wonder how that will be done.
