After witnessing the torture and murder of a telepath through Cerebro, Charles and the remaining X-Men head to Washington to protect another mutant from being killed and find themselves unexpectedly forced to ally with Erik and Raven against the evil they discover there. When their enemy's intentions aren’t what they seem and a series of attacks reveal the true extent of Charles’s abilities, his capture sparks a dangerous mission to rescue him before he is used to annihilate them all. It’s a time of reckoning and reconciliation, and Erik must make a final choice between love and power- without destroying their world in the process.
