Chapter 1: Welcome to valley view (part 1 of 2)
Chapter Text
Amy’s POV: I found myself in the lair, surrounded by my dad’s inventions. He had dumped all his old gadgets on the table, many of which were unfamiliar to me. My curiosity piqued, I began to explore.
About an hour ago, I picked up an object that resembled a toothpaste container. However, it was labeled “Grow Some More!” and featured my dad’s face. Despite the silly name, I was intrigued. It seemed that the more ludicrous the name of his invention, the more powerful it turned out to be. (If you’re reading this, Dad, it’s true. You create these amazing inventions and then give them the most random names!)
In retrospect, trying it out was a questionable decision. The “grow” in “Grow Some More!” referred to hair growth. Before I knew it, my hair had grown all the way to the floor and stayed that way for a whole 30 minutes.
After that experience, I was hesitant to try anything else. But then, I spotted a gadget that looked strikingly similar to the device I used to travel to Centropolis and back. Intrigued once again, I reached out and grabbed the device. I pressed the button on it questionably 30 times since nothing was happening. I’m not the most patient person (if you haven’t already noticed), so I was about to just throw it away since it didn’t work. But then, a purple sparkly portal appeared a few feet in front of me. “Well, okay…” I said and began to walk towards the portal. Suddenly, someone with black hair, and what looked like rainbow hair (which almost made me gag because of how girly it was) came through the portal, knocking me off my feet and onto the floor with her on top of me!

Chapter Text
AJ's POV: I was just finishing up my last chore of the day; feedin' the pigs. Rainbow was supposed to be helping me, but as usual, it was just another one of her excuses to hang out. But I didn't mind. When I finished up, I went to go look for her in the barn. She was sitting on a hay bail reading one of her Daring Do books. She lit up as soon as she saw me, and stood up to give me a hug. She had a confused look on her face when she pulled back to look at me.
"What's wrong, AJ?" She asked. And that's when I noticed that I didn't hug her back. "Uh, I'm fine, sugarcube, but uhh..." I was frozen in place, staring at the thing that looked like a portal, purple and back swirls in the form of Celestia's hair. "But what?" She asked, clearly concerned. After she got nothing but silence for an answer, she whipped her head around to see what is was I was staring at. "What in Celestia's name.." She managed to say as her jaw dropped. I knew she was going to jump right in so I had to chomp on her tail before she could get away. "Rainbow!" I let out a muffled yell. But her body was already halfway through, and the force was too strong, even for a pony like me. But no way was I letting go. So I let it take me too, and we both went through this strange swirl.
Dashie's POV: ..And before I knew it, I was on top of some strange girl, a human at that. I tried to get off of her, but I didn't know that AJ was on me too. She got off before I even opened my mouth to ask her to, then I noticed that we were humans. AJ was just as confused as I was. "What the hay..?"

Chapter Text
Amy's POV: "GET OFF OF ME," I grunted in pain as yet another person fell on top of me. When they didn't move, I yelled again, this time using my sonic scream. As suspected, they both got off. "Well, slap my flank and call me a mule!" one of the girls gasped, and I didn't really understand what she meant by that. I'm going to guess her name is Belle because that's a country accent if I've ever heard one! It's giving my headache a headache.
"AJ, are you okay?" the first girl with black and rainbow hair said, in her raspy voice. That answers one question; Belle's real name is 'AJ'. I managed to get on my feet, holding onto the table to pull me up, albeit a bit wobbly. "I’m fine, thanks for asking..." I muttered sarcastically, brushing off my clothes. AJ and Rainbow Girl were still inspecting their limbs like they were alien appendages. I couldn’t help but cringe at the sight. "You two look like you’ve never seen your hands before." AJ finally looked up, her emerald green eyes wide with a mix of confusion and awe. "It’s just… they feel different," she said, flexing her fingers. Rainbow Girl nodded in agreement, her expression mirroring AJ’s. I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean... different?" I asked, genuinely curious despite the throbbing in my head. RG (Rainbow Girl) managed to stand up after her legs finally stopped wobbling.
"Why should we answer to you?" she demanded, "We're not the ones who opened that portal!" I scoffed at that but was quite impressed. Nobody has ever stood up to me like that - besides Hart, that is. I was going to give her one of my famous witty responses before somebody called out my name. "Amy?" Speaking of Hartley... "Amy, are you down here?" Hartley called again, and a few seconds later, she came down the stairs, eyes wide as she took in everything. Aj and Rg exchanged glances before looking between me and Hart. "Holy Starling..! This isn't like what happened on Mother's Day, is it?" she asked, keeping her eyes on the strange girls. "No," I replied softly. Mother's Day was a disaster, but remembering how Hartley went through with stealing from Milo will forever be a memory I hold close to my heart (even though the belt turned out to be a fake). "Alright, what in the hay stacks is goin on here!?" AJ cried out, with RG whispering, yet not quite enough, next to her "No idea."
Hartleys Pov:
When I came to look for Amy, I can assure you- this is not what I expected.
"So, that's our story... that's how we got here," Rainbow Dash finished, or as Amy called her at first, Rainbow Girl. Amy scoffed saying, "We know how you got here, I opened up the portal. Where did you come from, dummies?" Amy shifted her position in her stool, while the two girls sat on the two across from us. For some reason this whole time I've been keeping my eyes on Rainbow Dash. Her hair looks surprisingly... nice. Also, her name is quite weird-- so is Applejack's, since we are on to topic.
Some notes I've picked up:
- Weird girls
- Weird names
- But, aside from that, really pretty girls?
- Applejack looks at least my height, but we haven't stood next to each other to know for certain
- Rainbow Dash on the other hand, is pretty tall, probably even Colby's height. Considering his recent growth spurt
- A~ seems to had definitely grown up on a farm, judging by her fit. Her hair is tied up in a bun with a red cloth that looks like a bandana, with little white polka dots everywhere. She's also wearing a shirt that looks the same, except the white dots are smaller. She's wearing casual blue jeans, and cowgirl boots, with small heels, with a clustered pattern of 4 apples on each side of each boot. Dressed for work.
- R~ Looks like she stole Amy and Jake's closest. I'm not so sure how I feel about that, but she looks good in her attire. She is wearing a rainbow tank top, and long sky-blue leggings, with red, yellow, and striped sandals. (In that order.) Her hair is put up in a ponytail, and her hair is still long even put up that way, down her back. She's wearing a pink cap, white on the front, with red, yellow, and green stripes across the front, with a cloud in the middle of the colors to resemble a rainbow. She's also wearing rainbow wristbands, one on each. Lowkey looks like a walking Pride flag.
Applejack cleared her throat and exchanged a glance with Rainbow Dash. "Do y'all have a school named Canterlot High School 'round here somewhere?" When we both shake our heads no, she adds, "Ohhh, kaaaay...well then...uhh, we're from this place called Equestria, and we're, well...ponies there." She speaks carefully, as if not to scare us away or something. "You see, our friend, Twilight, has been here before, on alicorn princess business and whatnot, and she's told us stories about this other world before. But we've never actually been ourselves. There's a counterpart for every pony to exist, she told us. So only she and our dragon friend, Spike, went with her, for less confusion. And, apparently, dragons ain't real in this world. Anyhow, the portal that you opened up is what led us to this world. But, this is not at all what we expected. She described y'all as..." She trails off and stares at us, clearly confused. "...Well, uhh...different. We could go back, if it's possible..." She looks at Amy. "...To bring her here and to ask her more about this place. What are y'all called, anyway? People?" She says it, as if she couldn't recall the word. "Or was it, uh, huumansss...? A, uhh...person? I was never good with grammar.." She mutters to herself.
I looked over at Ames, her expression is what I'm guessing I look like right now. What was it she said they were before-- Ponies?? She must put us down as fools to believe anything like that. I opened my mouth to voice my thoughts, but Amy spoke before I could get anything out. And what she said, was not what I would have expected. "Well, that would explain why you two were looking at your hands as if you've never seen them before . . ." She sighed and added, "But either way, I couldn't send you back even if I wanted to-- and I REALLY want to. I'm going to be sore for a week, the way you guys fell on me; speaking of which. When you guys came in, I was holding the portation device. So that being said, probably, most likely, it's broken."
She shifted in her stool, yet again, to reach for her phone. Rainbow Dash, who has hardly said anything this whole time, said “What the…?” She stared at Amy's phone for a moment, her head tilted to the side. “What is this…thing?” She asked, her vision switching between Amy and the phone. “What does it do?” Her curiosity took over her skepticism, and she reached out to take the phone from Amy, ignoring her outraged expression.
If I've noticed anything from Rainbow, it's once this whole situation calms down, Amy and her are going to get along great. Applejack gave Amy an apologetic glance, indicating that this must happen a lot. I placed my feet on the floor, got up from my stool, and walked over to examine them. Skinny, tall. Definitely horses in another world, I'd say. "So, Apple Juice, aaaand, Rainbow..? Something?" AJ corrects me. "Applejack. And that one there.." She gestures toward the girl exploring Amy's phone. "...Is Rainbow Dash, mah gal pal. (code for gf in pony world lol, but Amy and Hartley don't know that yet.) Call me AJ. She's fine with Dash, or Rainbow." I nod slowly, taking in their names. Amy waits angrily in her stool as Rainbow asks a bunch of questions about technology, the internet, apps, etc, as Amy simply ignores her out of annoyance. I speak up. "Rainbow Dash, you guys might be stuck here. What the heck are you doing??" She seems to be trying out filters. She yells, "THIS. IS. SO. AWESOME!!! This is 20% cooler than magic is in Equestria!" Applejack butts in with a deep chuckle. "Let's not get carried away there, Dashie." Magic-? My thoughts are cut off by more yelling. "Come on AJ, ya gotta see this! I'm a bunny!!"
Amy and I glance at each other and I already know we're thinking the same thing: These two are going to be a handful.

Chapter Text
Hartley and Applejack were on their way to AJ's first Sunshine Club meeting. Rainbow and Amy are at the Maddens' home, because they're too cool for that niceness and allat. Also, Rainbow and Amy are trying to explain, and/or convince Amy's family that AJ and Rainbow are ponies. Or, were. (They haven't met AJ yet.) Anyway. Back to the Sunshine Club scene.
Hartley and Applejack aggressively burst through the school's double-doors into the main hall. They were late because of AJ's unfamiliarity with standing up straight and walking on only two hooves. Or, feet, in this case. They made their way into the library, the place that all of the meetings take place, at least 20 minutes late, Hartley discovered, looking up at the clock above the check-out desk. "Great," she mumbled to herself. Hartley took and grabbed AJ by the wrist, forcing her to follow with her poor balance and long limbs. Once they made it there, Katie, the one who's usually always late, asked, "Who is this? She looks like a horse right after birth." AJ tensed up slightly. "Ehehhh, ehehehhehehhh..." She chuckled awkwardly. Hartley took over before AJ said anything too revealing about her old form. "Uhhh, heeey, guys! This is...AJ! Yup, that's her! Ehuh..." Hartley chuckled, trying to keep up her happy tone, even though she was kinda nervous. She took a seat in one of the bean bag chairs, each of the small chairs reading, 'SUNSHINE CLUB' in different colors that each member preferred. Hartley's is yellow, of course. But she only sat down after shoving AJ down quite aggressively down on a black and orange bean bag chair so that she wouldn't continue to stand there awkwardly and smiling. Orange, AJ's favorite. She smiled big at the other members as if she didn't basically assault AJ. Applejack didn't care all that much, she just went with it, looking slightly confused.
Applejack decided to speak up. She looked to her right and read the girl's 'HELLO, MY NAME IS...' nametag, or, she tried. It read, 'Sofie', in pretty cursive letters, which made it kind of hard for AJ to read and understand. She's not very fancy and has a weak vocabulary. She wanted to be nice and make friends. "Sorry we're late, y'all. Really am. I'm just plum tickled to be here.." She said nervously, yet in a happy tone. "Heeey there, uhh..." She squinted, trying to read the fancy letters. Sofie looked at her with disgust, unable to believe that she couldn't read cursive letters. "Ugh, can you even read? You look like you were raised in a barn! My name is Sofie." She sneered, eyeing her muddy clothes. AJ's eyes widened in surprise. "Well, as a matter uh fact, I was--" Hartley interrupted. "Guys, she was just at her...Grandma's barn, ya know, to help her with the work and the animals there, yeah!" She said, proud of herself for making up that totally believable lie on the spot. She's not usually one to lie. AJ would go along with her story, but she just can't lie, period. Not if her life depended on it. She spoke up once again. "Uhm, actually, Hart..." She was cut off again, "SHUT UP, AJ!!" Everyone stared at the two girls in silence.
Time skip to the end of the club meeting, which actually went well. Sorta. Hartley dragged AJ out of the room, the same way she brought her in there before, yelling over her shoulder, "Well, that's all I have to say for today! We'll be back soon, have fun!!!" She basically slammed the door on their way out, leaving the rest of the club in silence, the members bewildered. As they left outside of the school's doors, AJ still wobbly, she asked, in a more genuinely nice tone, "Just let me do all the talking next time, kay?" She said, kind of tired from trying to hide the pony secret all by herself, while also trying to keep AJ quiet, and failing. AJ simply nodded, and followed Hartley on the walk toward the Maddens' home.
----------------
Hartley and Applejack had just let for the afterschool Sunshine Club meeting, yet Rainbow Dash was feeling sad already. She didn't like to admit it, but she was very attached to Applejack, for she had always cared for her. But now she had to make new friends. She didn't mind that at all, she just hoped the meeting wouldn't take forever and ever and ever. But Amy seemed cool. Once they spent some time together, just talking, she figured that she was 20% cooler than she made her out to be. Once they were both having fun playing 20 questions, some kid with bleached blonde hair rushed downstairs. He nodded his head at Rainbow as a friendly greeting. "Amy has a new friend? Nice! You must be really cool." Rainbow Dash felt her already too gigantic ego inflate just a little more. "Thanks, little dude. What's your name?" Amy looked at him, upset at the fact that Rainbow wasn't paying attention to her anymore. She sighed as Colby replied, completely oblivious to her annoyed expression. "Colby. What about ya?" He sat on the living room couch, clearly getting comfortable. Amy decided to let it go. "This is Rainbow Dash. My new friend." She flashed a fake smile at Colby. He smiled. "Like I said, you must be something special if Amy even likes you. Rainbow Dash, huh? That's...an unusual name." Rainbow replied."Well, it matches me, cuz I'm awesome. I'm the only pony to ever do a Sonic Rainboom." She looked very proud of herself.
Colby was baffled, yet interested. "What's a 'Sonic Rainboom?' That sounds awesome! Ohmygosh, Amy, does she have powers too? Is she a villain? I bet her villain name is Rainbow Dash. I get it now! Now I see why you like her--" Amy cut in, annoyed again. "NO, Colby! She's from a different dimension." She put it simply. Colby's confused expression seemingly cleared up after that statement. "Oh, well, why didn't ya say so?! That makes so much more sense. So many..rainbows.." He examined her outfit and her hair. "If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you were gay or something." Amy mumbled. "More like JoJo Siwa." Rainbow seems offended even though she has no idea who this this 'JoJo' is. The name alone sounded stupid enough to her to be offensive, and also the added fact that Amy didn't exactly say it in a polite manner. "HEY! I don't know who that is, but I know for a fact that I'm 20% cooler than they'll ever be!" Amy sighed and searched a picture of her on Google, showing the screen to Dash for clarification. Rainbow sighed in realization, defeated. "Okay, yeah. Kiiiind of similar...but at least I don't have those ridiculous bows. Those things are huge! And PINK IS GROSS!!! And...what's gay mean?" Both Colby and Amy stared at her as if she was an alien. "It means that your'e not straight. Duh." Amy stated, as if that one statement had cleared everything up. "What's it mean to be straight?" Rainbow asked, baffled. Colby scoffed. "You literally have rainbow wristbands, and you don't know what it means to be gay??"
After they had explained all of the sexualities, Rainbow made a thinking face, trying to remember which one she was. "So many terms and names, and for what? 'Heterosexual' is the same as being 'straight', right?" Both Amy and Colby nodded. Rainbow sighed. "Okay, then. Whatever. I'm a, uh...lesbian? I...guess?" Amy lit up at that. "Same. But, I'm not with anyone at the moment..." Colby literally laughed out loud. Amy smacked him and that shut him up. Colby rubbed his arm where she had hit him, "Ow," he said mainly to himself. "What about you, Dash? Any special somepony back in Equestria?" Rainbow replied with a smirk. "I have soooo many friends, cuz I'm just that awesome. But I have 5 special friends who mean the most to me. They're everything. I miss them already. And Applejack, shes's the best. That's a fact." Colby looked confused once again. "Applejack? You guys have some weird names in pony world." Amy shrugged, used to it at this point, from the stories Rainbow and AJ had told her and Hartely so far, remembering the names they used for their friends there. She ignored Colby's comment. "Soooo, is Applejack your significant other?" Rainbow replied. "Ohh, totally! I'm a lesbian, apparently, but it's not just about the body, ya know. She's my best friend. MINE." She stated possessively. Colby became the smirking emoji at that. "BEST FRIEND, huh??? Sounds familiar...." He teased, wiggling his eyebrows. Amy smacked him again, this time harder. Colby let out an, 'Ow!'.
Time skip. The Friendship Games. Colby and Jake felt left out. "Why do you girls get to do everything fun? I want to join!" Jake whined. Colby forced himself in happily. "So, who's team can I be on?" Amy rolled her eyes. "The dum-dum team." She said, holding her hands in a picture frame position, as if it was an amazing idea. Colby scoffed, unamused at her little joke. Hartley tried to defend them. "Hey! Don't speak to your brothers that way, Ames! That's not very nice of you." She said, with a point of her finger at Amy, emphasizing on the word, 'nice'. "Don't do that, you look like an old lady," She retorted, moving her finger out of the way. Rainbow started to snicker next to AJ, uncontrollably. She spoke up with tears in her eyes. "Y'know....HAH She kinda does...!" She continued with her laughing fit, struggling for air and wiping away a tear. AJ smirked and shook her head at the situation. It wasn't all that funny to her, but she was just glad to see her favorite pony, now person, laughing. Hartley thought about it, and said tentatively, "Well, you guys are kinda stupid. I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!" She repeated as Amy smirked at her. The boys took no offense to that from Hartley, but still try to defend themselves to Amy. Jake replied, "Not all the time.." He mumbled, as a form of a weak comeback. Amy said sarcastically, "Team dum-dum it is..." And Colby grinned, seemingly happy with the fact that he was apart of their game at all. Plus, him and Jake can beat both of them on the first round. They just met! Easy peasy.
