Chapter 1: The Girls in the Ice Sphere
Chapter Text
Frieza brought his glass up to his lips. The sweet taste of wine flows into his mouth. A satisfied smirk graces his features.
He was Emperor of the universe: none dared question his judgment or his command. He controlled his own imperial army and was feared for his ruthlessness and power.
If he desired something, he would acquire it through forceful means. In summary, he held the distinction of being the most formidable individual currently in existence. The mere mention of his name instilled fear and apprehension, causing a multitude of races to retreat to the safety of their dwellings and seek refuge under any available shelter. This very fear and apprehension served as the driving force behind his insatiable longing to conquer the galaxies.
"Lord Frieza." Kikono entered the room.
The Emperor lifted his glass to his lips. "Yes."
Kikono bowed his head.
"I've come to report that Regarding the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God, we've researched them extensively but they appear to be only myths." He straightened himself up and stared up at Frieza's back.
"Oh, wonderful. I expected as much." Frieza smirked. "But I can't afford the least bit of anxiety right now, so I had to be sure, not that they'd be a problem."
"So then, are you canceling the attack?" Kikono asked hesitantly. Frieza laughed as if the idea were ridiculous.
"You are hilarious. Not after I went through the trouble of assembling all these monkeys." Frieza wickedly smiles at Planet Vegeta. "This is a perfect plan to get rid of the Saiyans, planet and all." His eyes narrowed, his smirk grew. "Wouldn't you agree?"
Kikono blinked, taken aback by his words.
"But without the Saiyans, our fighting force will be drastically reduced, almost by half." Kikono countered hesitantly.
Frieza chuckled again, a dangerous glint in his eye.
"My troops will still be able to get by. These barbarians pretend to be submissive, but they're dangerous. They could bare their fangs against us at any time." Frieza paused, smirking wickedly as he subconsciously turned his hover pod around starting forward. "They are, after all, a species completely comprised of warriors. It's always best to put a sleeping beast down before it can be awakened."
Exiting from the ship's roof, Frieza stares at Planet Vegeta with a gleeful grin plastered upon his face. Right finger raised up to his ear, charging a small bright ball of burning energy. The ball grew larger and larger until it formed a miniature sun that hung just beyond his fingertips. The giant burning orb expanded into a sphere hundreds of feet large. The heat radiated outward from Frieza's finger into the emptiness of space.
The fireball floated above Frieza, waiting for its master to give the command to burn. The Emperor laughed to himself, his laughter echoing through the emptiness of space, a sound so cold and evil that it could chill even the hearts of innocents. The flames began to flicker wildly in the void of space, eager to be set ablaze and consume everything in its path.
With a flick of his finger, Frieza sent the fireball hurtling toward his target, aiming directly at the planet.
The massive burning ball of energy slowly drew close to Planet Vegeta. It had been orbiting the planet for a good few minutes and was beginning to grow hot enough that the grass around it started turning brown as well as the vegetation in the area around it began wilting. The energy ball looked like a huge orange balloon that was expanding even more, filling the sky above the planet with its immense power.
Every single Saiyan watched the ball, eyes wide and fearful. They knew there was nothing to be done about the fact that this enormous, fiery ball would crash into their beloved homeland soon and destroy everything within its range. All they could do was watch helplessly as the fireball proceeded descending towards their home planet.
Well, not all of them stood and watched.
A low level warrior, a low class Saiyan stood hovering in the air.
His countenance had relinquished its customary visage of trepidation and instead, assumed a resolute and unwavering expression. He extended one hand, with fingers tightly clenched into a fist, while the other hand brimmed with a surge of azure energy, poised to unleash an assault upon the encroaching orb of flames.
Although he was cognizant of the inescapable fate that awaited him beyond a certain juncture, he remained steadfast in his resolve to not succumb without putting up a valiant struggle. Even if it entailed sacrificing his own life to safeguard the lives of billions, or perhaps millions, or even hundreds of millions, including Gine.
Bardock emits a resounding battle cry that resonates throughout the battlefield. The power emanates from his hand, as a colossal beam of blue energy ascends and obliterates the approaching ball of fire. Striking the center of its target, he amplifies his power, causing more and more blue energy to surge forth from within him and towards the ball of fire, hoping that this alone will be sufficient to prevent its imminent collision.
In response, the fiery energy appears to only intensify, causing the ball to grow larger and larger, surpassing the very expanse of the surrounding atmosphere. Soon, the massive ball of fire becomes so immense that Bardock struggles to maintain his equilibrium.
Bardock grunted as he struggled to push it back but to no avail. The heat was getting intense and even he couldn't handle it. Inch by inch, the flames were reaching him, engulfing his arms, burning the skin off his exposed palms and finally, covering him completely.
With an anguished wail, Bardock was enveloped by the burning sphere signature. Said signature made an impact with the planet with a tremendous thud. Wiping out every poor Saiyan soul that didn't have the chance to flee.
Millennia and light-years of relativistic time away from Planet Vegeta's destruction, a forgotten starcraft re-entered the universe. Following a preprogrammed course, it sped past a large ringed gas giant toward the local system's inner planets, which were warmed by the radiance of a shining yellow star. Although the star was small, the young sun-burned hotter than any other. It was still in the prime of its existence, which would last for another six billion years or so.
The rocketing vessel passed through an asteroid belt, successfully avoiding any collisions with the orbiting space debris. Then it arrived at the third planet from the sun—a medium-sized blue world distinguished by two ice caps, expansive oceans, and several continents, as well as an atmosphere conducive to organic life. Electromagnetic signals, radiating from the planet's surface, indicated the presence of a rudimentary degree of technology.
The planet's gravitational pull was significantly lighter than Planet Vegetas', but proved sufficient to capture the approaching starcrafts. Ceramic heat shields boiled away as the ship entered the atmosphere, blazing through the upper reaches like a falling star. It hurtled above a sizable landmass—at present enveloped in darkness—located in the planet's northern hemisphere, then descended toward the wide central plains found in the mid-western region of the continent.
Elements of the terrain below registered on the craft's sensors as it searched for a suitable landing site. Winding rivers of fresh water cut through vast stretches of undulating prairies. Population centers dotted the surface. Primitive radar transmissions bounced off the ship's protective plating.
The craft slowed as it dropped lower in the clear blue sky. Soaring over the ocean, past a long field of grass, descending to the forest. The rush of its passage caused the trees to bow due to its speed. Finally the orb capsule came in for a landing, bearing an alien gift.
A gift in the form of a Saiyan baby.
He was energetic. He was pure hearted and kind of goofy, but you'd be forgiven for thinking so after a single glance at his smile. And he didn't seem like one to make a fuss about things in general; if anything, he seemed more than happy with the way that he was living in the moment.
As he grew from a baby into a child, he became uncommonly strong. A child whose strength wasn't something one could simply gauge based on physical attributes. But even so, he wasn't someone who was easily overwhelmed, which allowed him to go out without much issue and not have any worries.
He was a kindhearted boy, and his name was Son Goku.
The long stream of a waterfall came to rest as it met its end. It was late morning, when the sun began peeking over the horizon, lighting up the water in the lake before it. Birds sang and chirped in the trees surrounding the cliff face. The blades of grass swayed in the wind as they rustled in the gentle breeze. The lake was peaceful; almost tranquil. Almost as if there wasn't a single monster that existed anywhere nearby, or a threat of danger lurking in the shadows.
A lone dear wandered down the small mountain trail, stopping once she reached the edge of the river. Her snout dipped into the water below, flickering her tongue as she drank.
Monkeys jumped from branch to branch. Followed by five other monkeys, each carrying their own load of food. They were laughing loudly and jovially as they made their journey, enjoying themselves as best as possible under such a pleasant day.
Squirrels ran along the forest floor, searching for nuts and berries to eat. Their little legs scampered quickly across the ground, looking for all the world like an excited puppy. They had been given an early start this morning, eager to get everything done before nightfall.
At the foot of a forest near mount paozu, Goku stood outside Grandpa Gohan's hut.
His eyes narrowed as his sharp gaze scanned the area around him, watching intently for any sign of movement. No birds sang nor insects flitted about in the air; nothing moved save for the swaying of the trees. Even the squirrels that usually roamed about hadn't come out.
He wore his usual gi: an open blue gi secured with a white bow-tied obi over his waist, red wristbands, and dark blue kung fu shoes and also a tank top. His tail hanging out lazily behind him.
Clenching both of his fists, he slightly crouches into a battle stance. However before he could even throw a fist or two, his stomach growled audibly. Goku blinked in surprise as he lowered his head towards his belly; it rumbled loudly, begging for attention.
"Whoa, I'm hungry. Heh, heh, better go fishing then." He turned around, starting towards the hut. Pushing through double doors, he enters the main room. Grabbing the strap of his red polearm holster, he pulls it from the bed and throws it carelessly onto his shoulder.
In the center of the room sits a table, a small orange ball sat atop of a purple pillow. Said ball had red four stars imprinted on its surface.
Goku walked up to the ball and clasped his hands together, bowing slightly to acknowledge the ball.
"Grandpa Gohan?"
There was no response. The sound of rushing wind echoed from outside.
"Stay there, okay." Goku took a step back. "I'll be right back."
Goku sprinted out of the door and dashed through the woods. Once he caught sight of a clearing ahead, he broke out into a full sprint, heading straight for the clearing. His feet pounded against the dirt road, leaving deep grooves in his wake. Jumping from branch to branch, he moves with practiced ease, making quick time to his destination. All the while laughing happily as he runs.
He stops in front of a tree stump, staring at a nearby lake. Jumping from one branch to another, he lands on the ground twelve meters from the lake and starts towards it. He stops when he reaches the shoreline, leaning forward slightly. The sounds of water lapping at the rocks and bushes surrounded him. He inhales deeply, smelling the refreshing smell of fresh soil mixed with hints of the earth itself.
Goku walks along the shoreline, his footsteps crunching quietly against the gravel. He stops halfway, turning toward a spot close to the lake's edge. He rolled around and slowly dipped half of his tail into the water. Immediately he can feel the chill of it seeping into his body. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, reveling in the sensation.
Giving his tail a good shake in the water. Ripples formed waves with the motion of the water. Goku's grin widened further, causing his cheeks to stretch upwards. With his shoes brushing against the sand of the beach, he turns around fully and faces the shore, he yanks his tail as a huge fish bursts out of the water into the air. Its scales glisten with water droplets.
Goku jumps high in the air, above the fish's head. He kicked hard on the fish's forehead, sending the fish crashing into the shore. It lays there, still stunned from what just occurred. Its jaw opened wide as its eye stared into space and breathing heavily. Goku giggles to himself as he trots towards the fish's tail, scooping it up with ease and resting said tail on his shoulder.
"Alright! This should keep me filled until dinner." He laughs and starts forward with the fish dragged behind. He closes his eyes humming a tune along the way.
He stops in his tracks however, when he hears a faint low hum.
Looking over his shoulder, his eyes landed back to the lake. He blinks, seeing the center of the lake rippling. His brow furrows, his hands subconsciously putting the fish down on the ground.
Slowly he begins to stalk towards the lake. As he gets closer to the center, the water’s surface ripples again, this time forming a wave crest that crashes down onto shore. The waves reached Goku's feet, splashing some water onto him. Goku grimaces, feeling slightly wet. Looking back at the center, he places both of his small fists onto his hips humming in wonderment.
"Hmm… the water is making a weird sound. Maybe its hungry?" Goku rubs his head thoughtfully before stepping forward. "Well, I guess I'll see for myself."
Goku leaps into the water, diving straight for the bottom of the lake feeling the cold water embrace him completely. He dives down, kicking his tail frantically to propel himself farther. The water rushes past his ears and he swims as fast as he can, keeping his pace steady. When Goku finally reached the bottom of the lake, he steadied himself, letting the water flow through his hair.
His eyes widened in awe at the view he saw before him; a giant ice sphere floated in midair, a few meters away from him. It has the shape of a diamond, though instead of being a flat surface, it shimmers like glass in the sunlight. The crystal glitters brightly, reflecting the beams of light that shine onto it. It is beautiful and elegant. But the elegant light was not what caught Goku's eye. What did was what lay underneath it.
Inside the crystal laid four silhouettes of small figures. Goku stared at the tiny forms for a while, mesmerized by them. He kicks his legs furiously as he makes his way closer to the sphere. He stops, floating beside the sphere and taking a look inside; the four small silhouettes were barely visible within the sphere.
Whoa, Goku thought to himself, they’re sleeping. No. Wait, what if they're trapped and they can't get out? Oh man! Don't worry I'll get you guys out!
Kicking up a bit, Goku swims to the middle base of the ice sphere. He cocks an arm back, bawling a fist with all of his might. He slams his knuckles into the center of the ice sphere with the strength he could muster.
The ice slightly cracked, but soon returned back to its original shape. Goku grinned at the fact he managed to crack it at least a little bit. He punches the same spot twice more and watches as cracks spread across the surface of the orb, the smaller ones gradually growing larger as his fists connect repeatedly with the surface of the ice sphere.
As he continues punching, the cracks in the ice begin to show signs of widening. He keeps pushing his weight into each punch and as the edges of the cracks begin breaking apart, he pushes harder still, trying to force as much force into each strike as possible. He continues pushing his weight forward until finally, the ice sphere completely fractures.
All at once, the crystal pieces scatter in every direction, landing on the ground in all different colors and shapes. Then came a blinding light followed by a thunderous boom echoing throughout the entire bottom of the lake.
The force of the explosion sent Goku flying backwards, shooting Goku out of the water and landing on the grassy land roughly. Rolling on impact, Goku coughs and spits the water from his mouth. Rubbing his sore face and shaking off his soaked clothes, Goku stands up, wobbling a little due to dizziness. He looks at his surroundings, his eyes squinting.
The lake was now empty and quiet except for his panting breaths. In the distance he sees the four small figures from earlier lying on the ground with various positions of unconsciousness on their bodies. He walks towards them warily and kneels beside one of them, getting a better look at them.
The one he kneeled beside was wearing armor, the shoulder pads out to the sides, and with a black body suit beneath. The other three were wearing similar armor but with different colorations to their bodysuits.
Goku recoiled in shock upon noticing something protruding from all four of their rumps: a furry appendage that looked like… a tail. Tails that look so much like…his own.
Whoa… no way, Goku thought to himself, they have tails—just like me!
A gasp escaped Goku's throat, a smile instantly spreading across his face. A laugh escaped him and he started hopping around, jumping in place excitedly. He ran circles around the four figures, his laughter filling the air. Oh how he thought back then, if there were others that had tails like him, always wondering if he was the only one. And here they were, laying before him.
He kneels back down to examine each figure closer. The one he kneeled next to, had pale skin and chin-length jet black hair. Their eyes were closed and their face was relaxed, almost as if they were dreaming.
The second one who laid not too far from Goku, had black spiked hair wrapped in a ponytail, and bangs tracing down their forehead. They too had pale skin, but theirs is a lighter shade than the first.
The third one had thickly braided, bow-adorned, black hair. Her two front braids have two golden ornaments near the upper sections.
Finally, the fourth one, had tanned skin and spiky hair with bangs on both sides of their face while the majority of their hair is held up in a ponytail like the second.
Goku places a hand on the first's shoulder. "Hey, are you okay? Come on, wake up." He shook the child. The first responder groaned faintly, but didn't stir. Goku tried shaking the second one awake too, but they didn't budge either. He leans over the third one, placing a hand on their shoulder.
"Come on, open your eyes, sleepyhead." He nudges at the one he's been calling sleepyhead lightly. Still no response. He shakes the third one gently. Still nothing.
Suddenly, all four of their eyes shot open at the same time and turned to stare right into Goku's eyes.
Goku beamed brightly at them. "Oh, hey! You're finally awake-! WAH!" Goku yelped when all four of them jumped on him in succession. He let out a grunt as the first planted their boot on his chest.
All eyes narrowed down at Goku threateningly, looming over him. Lifting their hands they aimed down on him. Balls of yellow energy charging on all four of their palms, ready to fire off a barrage of attacks at any given moment. Goku gasped and quickly raised his arms to shield himself, closing his eyes tightly. He braced for impact but when none came, he slowly opened his eyes. He slowly lowered his arms, looking up at them confused.
They seemed to pause. Looking down at something with shocking expressions. They blinked and lowered their hands, their ball of energy disappearing.
Goku's eyes slowly moved to their direction, from his chest to his waist before landing at the source of their surprise: his tail. His eyes darted back up to the four individuals before him who were now staring at him, jaws agape.
"You're…a Saiyan?" The first in the middle asked in disbelief. Their voice sound higher and fundamental, a greater pitch that Goku had never heard before, but it wasn't unpleasant or intimidating, it was simply surprising to him.
"Uh, what's a Saiyan?" Goku asks. Scratching the back of his head sheepishly, and staring at the group with curiosity.
Destruction.
That's what she was. Her, and her sisters; destruction. Destroying everything. Everything that she touched, everything her victims loved, destroyed and her, and her sisters did it with pleasure. They were cataclysm and death incarnate. But more than that; they were princesses of all Saiyans.
Each of the four has great potential and goals to achieve. Each of them having power and influence behind their backs that would ensure them victory. All four, born from the same womb and brought together because the universe decided they would form the greatest team.
It was destiny.
She knew, of course, fate. She understood, of course, the reason for her birthright to rule. She accepted it without any complaint. After all; that was her purpose.
Her sisters accepted it as well. They are close after all. They may have their differences, their differences being their strengths and personality but nevertheless, the four had stuck together through thick and thin.
Of them all, Cerofla was the most powerful. Despite her being a child, she was the strategist and had intelligence that rivaled even that of a mature adult. She could think on a tactical level, knowing where to go and how to fight, how to maneuver and plan accordingly with each step. She had many skills that surpassed that of even the greatest warriors, but she never let anyone know that; she hid this secret deep within herself. Though she never admits it to herself or her siblings, she loved her sisters dearly and protected and cared for them, just like the four of them had done for each other.
Lementine now, she appeared determined in the art of battle. Nor did she lack skill in combat. Her few scars were proof of that. But what truly distinguished her from the rest of the four were her strong will, which gave her strength, pride and her passion for fighting. She always loved and never backed down from a challenge. It was part of her personality, she'd always take on anyone that is a worthy opponent and gets excited when the fight gets tough. As she said before, "I don't give up easily, and I don't need anyone else telling me what to do." She'd say in her defense.
And then there was Figsene. She was decently strong though not to the point of surpassing her sister, Cerofla; however, she had a fiery temper which made her wild in battle and was more reliable than the average warrior scum one would see around. Although she wasn't as ruthless as Fejota was, she was a skillful fighter, and has a high degree of camaraderie with her sisters and a sense of honor. She is seen by Cerofla to have a maternal side, always checking up on her older sisters whenever they were hurt, tending to them when they needed comfort or support. But of course, these weren't traits that made her weak; rather it was her fierce and unwavering determination to win and be victorious that made her strong and formidable.
Fejota was more ruthless in her combat ability compared to Figsene. Even in battle she would use her fists and kicks to incapacitate an enemy, keeping up her ferocious style. However she preferred fighting alone when facing an opponent and not needing help from anyone. She also doesn't trust anyone but her sisters. That included the two younger ones. Never could she be a leader. That would require a certain level of confidence and drive coupled with the ability to command others, neither of which Fejota was blessed with. While she can be reckless at times due to her recklessness, she was a capable strategist and fighter, and had the heart of a true Saiyan. She was loyal to her sisters, especially Cerofla.
Cerofla stared at the boy on the ground. Her brows furrowed as she looked at him intently, examining the details on the blue clothing that covered his body. She couldn't quite tell what it was but it was certainly not anything she'd ever encountered in her life. What caught her attention was his long brown tail, which swayed side to side lazily. Indicating quickly to her that he was indeed a Saiyan; and she hadn't been mistaken in her guess.
But that indication was not what made her bewildered. No, it was that question he asked:
'Uh, what's a Saiyan?'
She blinked and stared blankly at him once again. The boy looked back at her, a puzzled expression on his face. Is he joking? She thought, raising a brow, and giving him a hard glare.
"If this is some attempt to make us laugh then you're wasting your breath." Figsene told the boy bluntly. The boy tilted his head as confusion washed over his face.
Cerofla removes her boot from the boy's chest. She folded her arms while still narrowing her eyes at him.
"Get up, now." Cerofla ordered sharply. The boy complied and sat up, stretching his limbs as he got to his feet.
"I'm glad you're awake by the way." The boy commented, smiling at Cerofla. "But I wasn't joking though."
Fejota scoffed at him. "You can't be serious," she snorted. "How could you not know your own race? Who are you?"
The boy placed one bawled fist to his left hip, and used the other hand to point at himself proudly.
"My name is Goku. G.O.K.U!" He announced cheerfully. Cerofla and her sisters raised a brow at the strange introduction.
Figsene arched a brow at the odd name.
"Goku..?" She repeated dubiously. The boy nodded enthusiastically at her words.
"What kind of name is that? That's not a Saiyan name!" Fejota spat, folding her arms in disapproval.
"And yet, he has a tail like us." Lementine added.
"Alright, Goku," Cerofla said, placing a single hand on her hip. "Tell us. Where are we here?"
"You're in the mountains of Mount Paozu, the home of my Grandpa Gohan. As well as my home too." Goku answered. Cerofla sternly shook her head.
"That's not what I meant. I mean what planet are we on?" She clarified. The boy furrowed his eyebrows.
"Earth...?" He answered in confusion.
"Earth…?" Cerofla muttered, repeating the word under her breath as if trying to comprehend. Earth? She's never heard of such a planet and she knew very little about planets outside of the solar system known as Earth, much less one as remote and unknown as this.
Figsene stepped forward slightly, holding her chin in thought.
"Hmm… Earth. That's a planet I've never heard of." Figsene commented. Cerofla nodded slowly in agreement.
Fejota smirked.
"Hey, maybe we can use this planet as a new training ground to get stronger!" Fejota suggested in amusement.
Lementine and Figsene both turned their heads at her with matching grins upon hearing the suggestion. Goku turned his head between the pair, not understanding why the idea had garnered their immediate interest.
"Training ground?" He questioned curiously.
Fejota nodded eagerly.
"Yeah, training grounds. We Saiyans train to increase our power and reach for new heights of potential." Fejota explained proudly.
"Wow." Goku breathed in awe. His eyes widened in wonder. "You train to become stronger? Like super strong?"
Fejota nodded. "That's right. I don't know why you act so surprised; as a Saiyan you should know that already. But I guess not."
Goku looked down at his hands. Clenching them tightly into fists as he continued to stare intensely at his palms, muttering lowly to himself.
"I think I understand now. I guess this means I'm not a human being after all." Lifting his head up once more, he smiles at the girls. "Hey, why don't you guys come to my house with me and I can cook you some food. You can tell me all about the Saiyans!"
Goku dodges through them, once again grabbing the fish's tail-fin with both hands, and resting said fin on his shoulder. Turning around, he faced the girls again and smiled warmly, waving to them.
"Come on." He urged. "It will be fun!"
The four of them stood rooted to the spot. Fejota placed her hands on her hips, staring incredulously at the boy.
"Now hold on a second you stupid softie. Who says we're going with you?" She demanded indignantly. Before Goku could respond, all four of the girls stomachs growled simultaneously making Goku giggle.
"I guess you guys are just as hungry as I am." Goku chuckled sheepishly. "I'll take that as a yes. C'mon, come on, let's go eat."
Goku proceeded to jog off through the woods. The girls followed suit in unison behind him, while Goku pondered upon the events of this day.
Chapter Text
The heart of the jungle was untamed and primordial. The trees were thick with vines that hang from branches to reach the ground. Leaves hung from twigs like an entourage as they dangled from the trees. Some were small and green while others were large. The birds were a colorful blur as they flitted about the foliage. The air was still and smelled humidly of rainwater.
Monkeys were everywhere; some chattering away in the treetops. There were smaller apes playing at their own game in the shade, running after each other and jumping around. They laughed joyfully as they ran through the jungle floor. A mother gorilla held onto her baby on her back, while trailing behind the large herd of apes. A large tiger slept near a tree in the canopy, its long fangs showing as it snored contentedly.
The faraway waterfalls roar with an echo in the distance. The forest’s sounds were comforting to the ears; they gave one peace and tranquility. The jungle was like a lost world, seemingly untouched by the hands of man. The thick undergrowth created a wall of vegetation that swallowed the faint sunlight, casting a green hue over everything in its path. Birds nested amongst the leaves; a small family consisting of mother, father and child, perched atop the tall tree.
Cerofla accompanies Goku as they traverse the dense forest, maintaining a steady stride alongside him. Her sisters closely trail behind. Goku's pace is unhurried and tranquil, his tail swaying idly in the background. Cerofla discreetly observes Goku during their walk, noting his perpetual smile. She ponders whether his cheeks experience discomfort from his constant display of joy. One cannot help but question the peculiarity of such unwavering cheerfulness, particularly for a Saiyan. Cerofla's curiosity extends to the identity of Goku's parents and their current whereabouts.
“Oh, I have a question,” Goku says suddenly, causing Cerofla to snap her gaze towards him. “What’s your name?” He inquires.
Fejota looks at the Saiyan boy quizzically. She glances at Cerofla. Cerofla closed her eyes before turning to look back at Goku as she replies.
“Cerofla. My name is Cerofla.” Her tone was flat, emotionless.
Goku blinked.
“That’s a nice name.” He remarked. He looked over his shoulder at the three girl Saiyans, who were still walking close by. He smiles at them. “And yours?”
Lementine rolls her eyes at Goku. “I’m Lementine.” She answers simply, her eyes narrowing playfully at the boy.
“Well it’s nice to meet you.” Goku replies pleasantly. Goku’s eyes darted to Figsene.
"Figsene." The Saiyan girl named Figsene introduced herself.
Goku shifted his gaze towards Fejota. His lips parted to ask, only for Fejota to quickly interject.
“I’m Fejota. Princess of all Saiyans!” The girl declared proudly, pointing a thumb at herself in pride. Goku tilted his head at her.
“Uh, what does Princess mean?” Goku inquired curiously.
The four girls shared the same annoyed expression as they exchanged knowing glares with one another.
“You’re kidding…right?” Fejota asked in disbelief.
Cerofla shook her head. “Of course he isn’t.”
Fejota huffed, crossing her arms before explaining.
“It means that I, as well as my sisters, are of royalty.” She clarified. “And someone as foolish and naive as you should treat us with respect.”
“Oh, I see, so you guys are princesses of our whole race. That’s really neat!” Goku grinned happily. “So what should I call you then? Princess? Your Highnesses?”
“No. Just call us by our names.” Cerofla snapped irritably, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
“Oh, okay.” Goku replied with an understanding nod.
The group proceeded through the forest until they reached their destination. The first thing Cerofla saw was a hut in the distance. The house was small with a wooden pointed roof, the structure was made in both bricks and stone. Windows, which were round shaped, were closed tight. Two doors were set in the middle with insignias that Cerofla was unfamiliar with painted above each door.
Once Goku had everything set up, Cerofla and her sisters trudge their way over to the small fire pit, sitting on the earth’s floor. Speared by a wooden skewer and cooking above the dancing flames is today’s breakfast; the giant fish Goku had caught earlier. Cerofla found herself staring down into the pit, eyes glued on the dancing flames which touched and licked the underside of the meat.
Cerofla blinked. She shifted her gaze towards Goku who was beaming at her with a smile. His tail wagging from side to side akin to a happy dog. Cerofla sighed before raising one finger and narrowing her eyes at Goku.
“Listen Goku, we’re only going to tell you the tale once,” Cerofla started, crossing her arms over her chest. “So you better pay attention. Clear?”
“Okay.” Goku nodded vigorously.
Cerofla sighed whilst closing her eyes before reopening them again.
“Long ago, before me, my sisters, and especially you were born, Goku, the Saiyan race lived on a planet called Planet Sadala,” Cerofla began. “Two tribes lived together on said planet, our Saiyan ancestors and the indigenous life-forms to this planet were the Tuffles, a very technologically advanced race. When the Saiyan first arrived they lived in the arid wastelands on the outskirts of the Tuffles' cities. The Tuffles enjoyed all the conveniences such as air travel and mini malls. They had long outgrown energy sources which polluted their planet and were enjoying health and prosperity.”
Figsene added. “The Saiyans lived in primitive fashion. They were much larger in size Tuffles but much smaller in number. One thing all Saiyans had in common was that they all had tails; much like ones me and my sisters have, including you.”
Goku glanced down at his own tail as it laid to his side before redirecting his gaze back at Cerofla.
“Another thing all Saiyans had in common was their brutal and violent nature; they’d love to fight,” Cerofla continued. “But because they were so few in number, the Tuffles never worried about the Saiyans.”
Goku hummed thoughtfully.
“I see.” Acknowledged Goku. “So, did they just do their thing and left these Tuffles alone?”
“They left them alone,” Fejota replied, a smug grin gracing her lips. “That was until the day they attacked.”
Goku’s eyes slightly widened. He shifted his gaze to Cerofla, trying to hold on some semblance of hope that what Fejota said was false. But to Goku’s horror, Cerofla confirmed Fejota’s words with a nod.
“With the element of surprise in their favor, the Saiyans quickly gained a strong foothold in the war against the Tuffles,” Lemetine spoke with an explanation. “The Tuffles had technology on their side; they had devices that measured their enemies fighting power and advanced weaponry which they used to hold the Saiyans at bay. However, though there were only a few, the Saiyans’ strength was so incredible that they too won their fair share of battles.”
“But that was just the beginning of their destruction.” Cerofla ads, closing her eyes. “They had a stronger power that all Saiyans share, they turned into giant apes when a full moon is up. It didn’t take long for them to destroy the Tuffles and their advanced civilization. But what they didn’t account for was that without the Tuffles technology, they couldn’t travel into space. This meant they couldn’t satisfy the one desire they all shared: the desire to fight.”
Goku sniffed the air. He beamed when he saw that the now cooked fish in the skewer was ready. He detaches it from the skewer, cutting it in big enough pieces before handing them to Cerofla and her sisters.
Goku and Cerofla’s sisters gave Cerofla most of their attention, but not before taking a large and eager bite. Fejota, Lemetine, and Figsenes’ faces lit up in delight of the taste.
Cerofla swallowed down her food before continuing.
“Not too far from the Saiyans, they met the Arcosians. These Arcosians had money and technology but their planet called Arctos was a dump.” Cerofla takes another bite of her food then swallows it down. “So they decided to hire the Saiyans to conquer a planet for them. A partnership was born between them; with Saiyan might and Arcosian ingenuity combined they formed a fleet of planet pirates. The plan that two of these races hatched meant there was nothing they wouldn’t do to achieve their goals, and their model space pods were designed to travel vast distances of the universe.”
Figsene adds. “They even sent babies like yourself to distant planets. The Saiyan leaders were more than happy to send specimens of their race into the great unknown. They knew that when the babies grew up, they would extinguish any and all inhabitants of the planet they landed on.”
Goku glared at the ground.
“I’d like to extinguish them.” Said Goku, clenching his fists tightly. Cerofla shakes her head disapprovingly.
“You can deny it all you want, Goku. But whether you like it or not you are one of them. One of us.” Cerofla reminded him with stern authority. Goku fumed with anger, prompting him to stand upright.
“No!” Goku shouted. “I’m not one of them, I’ll never be!”
Fejota shook her head at Goku.
“Cerofla’s not wrong, softie. There’s also no doubt that you must have been sent to this planet to destroy it,” Fejota said, throwing bits and pieces of fish bone to the Earth’s floor “Hmph, I wonder what happened to make you so soft."
“That’s not true!” Goku protested. “My Grandpa Gohan has been training me before he died. I’m anything but soft.”
“Tch, don’t make me laugh. True strength comes from more than just physical ability," Fejota said, shooting a glare at Goku. "Saiyans are a warrior race, we are born with blood lust and the desire to fight. As a Saiyan, one must have the strength to do what's necessary to win. Silly emotions do nothing but hold you back; all the more reason why I despise your attitude.”
Fejota slightly leaned back, crossing her arms, and closing her narrowed eyes.
“The fact that you did not destroy or conquer this world, instead of doing what you were likely assigned to do; you settled here and played nice-nice with this planet’s lowlife inhabitants. Heh, heh, couldn’t be me. If I was sent to this planet, this planet would’ve been destroyed a long time ago.”
Goku frowned upon hearing this.
“You don’t mean that.” Goku said, his tone laced with a bit of sadness.
Fejota’s eyes shot back open. Shooting Goku once again with a glare.
“Oh but I do, and don’t you dare speak to me as if you know me!” Fejota spat, standing upright and pointing her finger at him. “A lowlife defect like you doesn’t have the right to speak to someone of royalty like me.”
Silence permeated the atmosphere.
Figsene finishes her food and throws it aside before returning her gaze back to Goku.
“Tell me this Goku, have you ever felt more spirited in each heavy battle?” Figsene questioned curiously.
Goku’s anger was washed away and transformed into a confused look.
“Yeah.” Goku answered honestly. “I remember fighting this big dinosaur, it was really strong. Almost caused me my life. Grandpa Gohan took care of me and I had to heal in bed for months. But once I was fully healed I felt… stronger. Is that how Saiyans work?”
Figsene nodded. “Yes.”
“That is one of our greatest assets in battle,” Lemetine chimed in. “Everytime we reach the brink of death or major injury, and live to tell the tale, we come back stronger than ever.”
“Wow..” Goku murmured in awe.
Goku blinked as something in his mind clicked and suddenly he realized something.
“Wait.” Goku paused, realization dawning on his face. “You said Saiyans sent their babies to distant planets, right?”
Cerofla raised a brow at Goku.
“Yes,” Cerofla replied. “So?”
“Well, when I found you, neither of you were in a pod so… how did you and your sisters end up here on Earth?” Goku inquired curiously, tilting his head to the side.
Cerofla and her sisters stared at Goku with slightly wide eyes.
That was… a good question.
How did they get here?
Cerofla mentally tried to recall what happened before she and her sisters awoke on Earth but all her thoughts came back empty. Almost all of it was a blur. She recalled her first memories from before waking up on Earth, back on her home planet when she and her sisters were preparing for another assignment. They bid their parents farewell before beginning their second journey amongst the stars.
But again, everything after that was blank.
“I…I can’t remember.” Said Cerofla, glancing to the ground.
“Neither do I.” Replied Figsene, folding her arms over her chest.
Silence permeated the air between them.
Cerofla shook her head. She could save the theories on how she and her sisters ended up on Earth for later; it wasn’t relevant anymore. For now she needed to focus on the present situation instead. After finishing her food, Cerofla’s eyes darted between her sisters while narrowing her brows.
“Let’s go.” Cerofla commanded, getting up from the Earth’s floor. Her sisters stood up by her command and trailed after her when they started forward.
Goku immediately leapt from his sitting position. He assumed a short sprint towards the girls, rounding around the four individuals and stood in front of them. Raising both of his hands whilst waving them.
“Wait!” Goku pleaded. “Don’t leave yet!”
Cerofla looked at Goku quizzically and waited for an explanation.
“Where are you going?” Goku asked, looking back to the four female Saiyans.
Cerofla placed her hands on her hips.
“We’re gonna scour across this planet, find a spot where we shall settle for a while until our parents find us and proceed with our training.” Cerofla explained.
Goku thought for a moment before nodding understandingly.
“Okay. If you’re looking for a place to stay, why not stay here in Mount Paozu with me?” Goku offered, beaming at the girls.
Cerofla and her sisters blinked, slightly surprised by Goku’s offer.
Lemetine arched a brow at the beaming boy.
“Why?” Asked Lemetine, staring at Goku curiously. Figsene stepped up beside her sister, crossing her arms whilst raising a brow on her visage.
“Yeah, I’d like to know too. We just told you about our race, how we’re born by bloodlust. Heck, I would even go as far as telling you that me and my sisters have slaughtered more than ten-thousand lives.” Lemetine remarked. “So why… why keep us around knowing what we are?”
The four Saiyan girls stared at Goku, awaiting an answer from him.
“Because...” Goku began, turning to meet the gaze of Cerofla. “You girls have nowhere else to go, and I couldn’t forgive myself if I just let you walk away when I have the opportunity to give you guys a place to stay. Staying in a place where not only you can call home, but you can train without worry, and eat the food that surrounds you. Plus, I can tell you girls are strong and I thought it be a great idea if you’ll train me!”
Cerofla raises a brow at Goku.
“You want us to train you..?” Cerofla repeated skeptically, raising a brow. “And what makes you think we’ll agree to such things? Why should we?”
“Why wouldn’t you? Fejota said it herself.” Goku said, his lips graced with a determined smile. “She said Saiyans train to increase their power and reach for new heights of potential. So I know if I train with you guys I’ll get strong! Heck, we can get stronger together. I mean, wouldn’t you want to see the height of my potential?”
Cerofla blinked at Goku. She had to admit… Goku had a point. Sure, Goku was no doubt naive and didn’t have the proper character of a true Saiyan. But the possibility of him having some hidden potential within his small frame, that was enough to make Cerofla consider accepting his proposal.
Cerofla glanced between her sisters. They seemed equally skeptical, but there was also a hint of intrigue in their eyes. Lemetine shifted her gaze towards Cerofla.
“Your call, sister.” Lemetine remarked. Figsene and Fejota nodded in agreement to Lemetines’ remark.
Cerofla nodded in response as well before turning back at Goku.
“Alright Goku, we’ll accept your offer. Both to stay here and to train you.” Cerofla stated. “However, there must be conditions to your training.”
“Conditions?” Goku asked, tilting his head.
Cerofla nodded. “Yeah, there are five rules we need to go over first.”
Goku nodded in understanding, awaiting further instructions.
“One; the next few years are going to be the hardest of your life training under us, and there won't be any room for such softness.” Cerofla declared. “Two; though my sisters will be assisting, I’m in charge through this training regiment. Three; You do as I say, no complaining, no questioning. Four; you won’t ever, EVER, tell me you ‘can’t.’”
“Okay.” Goku nodded, grinning confidently at Cerofla.
Cerofla rolled her eyes at this before continuing on.
“Finally, five. You must commit a-hundred percent to this,” Cerofla warned. “If you commit fully, then we’ll train you to be a Saiyan warrior at heart. Understand?”
Goku nods solemnly. “Got it!”
Cerofla blinked as Goku grinned widely at her. She shook her head at the beaming boy as he hopped around the area, squealing with excitement. She had never seen anyone so excited to train with someone so strong.
She found the sight honestly weird on one hand.
But on the other hand, she found it… amusing.
Notes:
A/N: Man, oh man! It's been a while since I've written a chapter for this story. Last time I've published a chapter for this story was back in 2022. Now we're in 2023 and the year is almost over! I had this chapter on a draft for two years and I hadn't come back to it in a while until now, so I'm glad I was finally able to get this done. I also wanna cover a few things before ending this note, and that is Cerofla and her sister's power-levels compared to Goku's power.
At this time, Goku's power level is ten like cannon. Lemetines' base power level is four-hundred and her maximum is five-hundred. Figsenes' base power is five-hundred, her max climbs up to five-hundred and forty-eight. Fejota's base power is seven-hundred, when powering up said power increases to seven-hundred and ninety-nine. Finally, Cerofla's base power is nine-hundred. As the first born she's the strongest amongst the sisters. Her max is one-thousand and four but could go up to one-thousand-two-hundred and forty five if she was REALLY angry.
That's all for now everyone. I hope you all have a good day or night wherever you are. Cya in the next chapter my little shimmerings!
Chapter Text
It had been three months since Cerofla and her sisters had awakened in the new world known as Earth and had made the decision to reside with Goku in the mountains of Mount Paozu. Throughout the past few months, Cerofla had dedicated the majority of her time to training Goku, with the assistance of her sisters, namely Fejota and Figsene. Meanwhile, Lemetine had been tasked by Cerofla to search the surrounding area for edible sustenance, whether it be the fruits recommended by Goku or the capture of sizable fish from nearby rivers.
On the day when Goku requested Cerofla and her sisters to train him, she came to a realization. Goku, being a Saiyan, was under their tutelage; it was their responsibility to mold him into a proficient Saiyan warrior. This became evident after witnessing his performance during his initial day of training, particularly when he engaged in a sparring session with Fejota. It became apparent that the inexperienced young man required a substantial amount of additional work, beyond what his previous teacher was capable of providing.
At the moment, they had started with standard battle training on the ground but Goku still couldn't manage to knock Fejota down due to her being stronger than him. Cerofla was standing in the sidelines with her arms folded across her chest, watching how Goku was trying to land an attack on Fejota who on the latter was not pulling back any of her punches. Even when Goku miraculously landed a blow onto Fejota's stomach, she didn't even budge a bit.
Not even one single muscle moved.
It was as though Goku had hit a wall.
However, despite the lack of response, it did not deter Goku's unwavering determination. This was something Cerofla secretly admired about the young boy. Despite his perceived weakness, Goku never surrendered and always persevered, regardless of the seemingly stagnant progress. However, Cerofla still held a dislike for him. His gentle and compassionate nature was just as foreign to her as her sisters' have seen themselves.
It was uncharacteristic of a Saiyan, as Saiyans are known for their pure strength and killer instinct to accomplish their objectives. Cerofla found this evident when Goku refused to kill a saber tooth tiger, instead opting to evade its attacks and allow it to retreat. When she questioned Goku about his decision to spare the creature, he explained that there were cubs nearby and the mother tiger was merely acting out of instinct to protect her young.
The action alone served to intensify the dislike that Cerofla's sisters harbored towards him, particularly Fejota. In fact, upon learning of this incident from Cerofla, Fejota made the decision to further enhance Goku's training by increasing the level of difficulty during their sparring sessions. Consequently, Goku sustained injuries that necessitated a full week of bed rest for complete recovery.
To the surprise of both Cerofla and Fejota, Goku never held any resentment towards Fejota for her actions. Instead, he graciously smiled at her, offering a gentle thumbs up, as he prepared himself for another round of sparring. It was as if he possessed an innate inability to view Cerofla and her sisters in a negative light, regardless of their persistent efforts.
Fejota's hatred for Goku only deepened with each passing day while Cerofla found the boy's nature still alien to her.
Goku and Fejota brawled across the clearing in a wild fray, while Cerofa observed them with calculating eyes. Punches and kicks flying, blocking, landing, dodging. However, it slowly became obvious that Fejota was still stronger. After all, the boy was still a pebble compared to her, and even though he was making an atom seed of improvement, it still didn't make a difference. Yes, he had been training for three months, but his body was still developing.
When Fejota finally knocked Goku to the ground, she planted a foot on his chest and smirked down at him, placing both of her clenched fists on her hips.
"Ha! Look at you, you pathetic defect. On the ground yet again with my boot on your chest,'' she spat, "What a joke you are. You should have known that I would win."
Goku chuckled.
"Well, I shouldn't be surprised. You are strong after all." He replied, chuckling some more. "But don't worry, I'll catch up. You'll see."
Fejota's smirk fell into a thin line.
"Yeah, we'll see." She said, removing her foot from Goku's chest before shifting her gaze at Cerofla. "Should we continue?"
Cerofla shook her head.
"No, that's enough for now. We'll proceed with the sparring session at a later time and start by teaching him how to fly." Cerofla stated. Goku beamed at this with a wide smile.
"You're gonna teach me how to fly?!" He exclaimed excitedly. Cerofla rolled her eyes at Goku's exuberance.
"Yes," Cerofla replied, turning her gaze towards Fejota. "I'll take over from here, Fejota. Join up with Figsene and Lemetine, if they catch any big fish bring it here."
Fejota nodded before giving a side glance at Goku with narrowed eyes. She turns away with a grunt, starting forward then launching herself in the air. Flying over the ocean of trees.
Cerofla starts toward Goku then stops in front of him. Goku parted his lips to say something until Cerofla raised her hand. She points her finger on the ground.
"Stand up." She commanded firmly. Goku blinked twice before obeying. He stood up in front of her while looking expectantly at Cerofla. Cerofla placed her hands on her hips.
"In order for you to fly, one requires proper control of their power to basically push themselves off the ground with their power and then manipulate said power while in the air." Cerofla explained. "Take a deep breath. Remain calm, and find the ki that flows within you."
Goku nods obediently before closing his eyes. He inhales deeply then exhales through his mouth. Wind whipped his hair back as he was still akin to a statue.
Cerofla crossed her arms while she waited. Since she wasn't doing hand to hand combat with him today, she wasn't in her armor. Instead she was donning her jumpsuit whilst still adorning both of her white gloves and boots. Cerofla loved her armor, but she had to admit that it can be quite tight to wear and if she wasn't fighting she might as well not wear it. Goku, however, was still in his blue jumper, though Cerofla didn't approve of it and wished she had a spare armor for him.
After a few minutes nothing happened. Goku opened his eyes and gave Cerofla a questioning stare.
"You haven't felt anything yet? Nothing at all?" Cerofla questioned.
"Heh, heh, no." Goku replied sheepishly.
Cerofla sighed and brought her palm up. Charging a yellow ball of energy on the aforementioned palm. She used her other hand to gesture to Goku to come over and he complied.
"Place your hand over it." Cerofla instructed him.
Goku placed his hand over the energy ball. Heat washed over Goku's arm to his entire body. It was as if Goku was touching the layer of the sun itself.
"Do you feel it?" She asked.
"Yeah," Goku replied with a nod.
"This is the feeling you should focus on; find it and let it flow into your legs." Cerofla explained, subconsciously deactivating the energy ball as it shrunk in size before disappearing.
Goku stepped while bawling his hands into fist. Bringing his arms to his side. Staring at Cerofla, awaiting for her to give him the green light.
"Again." Cerofla told him sternly.
He once again took a deep breath and composed himself, standing motionless and closing his eyes. Another few minutes elapsed, yet nothing occurred. That is, until he gradually began to ascend from the ground. When he reached a height of two feet above the grass, he halted and swayed slightly.
Cerofla mentally calculated that Goku managed to remain airborne for nearly two minutes before his stomach emitted a growl, causing him to lose his balance. In a state of distress, his limbs flail about as he desperately attempts to remain in the air, only to ultimately plummet face-first into the grass. Cerofla closed her eyes and shook her head in disappointment.
Goku cursed under his breath as he sat up.
"How long did I go?" Goku asked, looking up hopefully.
"One minute and thirty-six seconds," Cerofla answered dryly.
"Aw…" Goku pouted as his stomach growled again.
"Well, it's to be expected," Cerofla commented, closing her eyes. "But you managed to stay in the air for one minute, so it's a start. But I suppose I can hardly expect you to concentrate when you're hungry."
Goku rushed shortly to Cerofla. Close enough where their noses barely touch.
"Does that mean we get to eat?!" His eyes were stretched with excitement.
Cerofla opened her eyes and stared blankly at Goku.
"My space." Though her words were calm and composed, it sent shivers down Goku's spine.
"Heh, heh, sorry." Goku laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head as he backed away.
Cerofla disappointingly shook her head.
"You're absolutely ridiculous when it comes to substance." She remarked flatly before turning her attention up at the sky. She saw the familiar faces of Fejota, Figsene, and Lemetine descending towards them carrying giant fishes.
Cerofla turned away from Goku and walked towards her approaching siblings.
"Come. Once we're done eating, we're getting you back up in the air. Clear?" Cerofla stated bluntly.
A wide grin graced Goku's lips.
"Okay!" Goku cheerfully replied as he ran past Cerofla towards her sisters that landed.
Cerofla sighed and trailed after the cheerful Saiyan boy. It was amazing to her how much Goku cared for food. Cerofla didn't know anyone could feel so passionately about edible substances until she met him. Even for a Saiyan, it was a bit ridiculous.
This was gonna be a long training session.
Cerofla could feel it.
She is a brilliant scientist and the second daughter of Capsule Corporation's founder Dr. Brief and his wife Bikini. A technological and scientific genius who can turn her talents to almost any field and understand alien technology near-effortlessly. Her inventions, and the resources of Capsule Corporation, have been invaluable to herself, her family, and many people she’d helped. Her most notable invention is the Dragon Radar.
She was a young teenage girl, and her name was Bulma Briefs.
She entered the jungle through a narrow dirt path flanked by towering trees and dense foliage. The untouched wilderness created a sense of disconnection from civilization, immersing her in a realm of raw, natural beauty. The hundred-foot-tall trees reached towards the sky, while the thick undergrowth swallowed the moonlight, casting a white hue over everything. However, amidst the beauty, the jungle remained a place where man was weak and vulnerable.
Bulma was truly astonished by the vast array of flora and fauna that the jungle had to offer. The untouched splendor of pure wilderness left her in awe, as she marveled at the intricate details of each plant and the unique characteristics of every bird that flew by. It was a truly remarkable experience that left a lasting impression on her.
She proceeded at a leisurely pace, her steps cautious as she felt the soft, decomposing forest floor sink beneath her sturdy boots. As she continued her journey, she eventually stumbled upon a stream with muddy banks. Gazing over the undergrowth, past the trees, she observed the mist lingering in the space beyond. The air was heavy with the scent of mold and mildew, as well as the decay of plants and animal matter. As she traversed the forest, she was greeted by the familiar sound of a night owl on an overhanging branch.
Bulma dodged through some bushes and emerged into an eerie swampland that stretched across the forest. Thick roots stuck out from the soil in every direction, resembling enormous black snakes coiled up and stretching out from the earth.
It was then that Bulma’s nose was suddenly assaulted by a strong ammonia scent.
Bulma coughed and sneezed violently. Her stomach churned uncomfortably, and she quickly retched. She quickly threw a hoof over his nose and mouth.
Oh my gosh, Bulma thought, what is that horrible smell?!
The foul stench invaded her nostrils, prompting her to gag. She shook vigorously, her body trembling in disgust. Her eyes burned with unshed tears. She looked around, trying to pinpoint where the terrible odor was coming from.
She almost stumbled backwards, away from the hideous scent, her feet dragging helplessly on the ground. With her hand still over her nose, Bulma slowly strides forward towards said ammonia. The deeper she ventured into the woods the more overpowering the smell became.
As Bulma neared the source of the odor, a sickening feeling spread over her as she realized just how close she was approaching the source: the smell was coming from behind a shrub near her path. Bulma squinted, trying to peer through the leaves of the shrubbery in hopes of finding out what was causing such a powerful odor in the middle of the forest. She took slow steady steps towards the shrub and peered around the bush.
Bulma blinked, shocked at what she saw.
A large amount of twigs and fibers were intertwined together in a circular form. Vegetation was constructed around the twig structure, forming a massive web of tangled vines and branches. In the center lay two round large eggs; their eggshells glistened brightly in the moonlight. The two eggs glowed softly.
Bulma’s jaw dropped. Realization dawned on him: he was standing before a nest. Bulma stepped around the bush and crouched down to examine the eggs. The urge to pee and the unbearable smell long forgotten, Bulma focused on examining the eggs closely. This nest looked recent...so recently that the dirt covering the entire nest was still fresh.
Bulma’s breath caught her throat.
A round orange gem was laying in between the eggs.
There it is, Bulma thought, a dragon ball!
Bulma outstretched her hand towards the radiant dragon ball. Slowly grasping it in her hand, pulling her arm back towards her person. She examined it for a better look, making sure the gem was in fact the real deal.
Bulma felt a smile gracing her lips.
Two down; only five more to go!
A deep exhale pulled Bulma out of her thoughts. She slowly lifted her head and saw the gargantuan, reptilian feet gripping the earth with black talons. Her eyes crawled up the muscular legs, up to the massive heaving chest and short arms with two-fingered claws, to the thick musculature of the neck.
Bulma’s eyes climbed higher and she saw the behemoth’s head twenty feet in the air. The rectangular jaws were closed shut. The nostrils on the end of its snout flared open with a rumbling snort, and its beady black eyes stared into Bulma’s own.
The mother Inflatasaurus rex growled and took a step forward.
The full moon had ascended into the blue star filled sky after the sun descended over the mountains of Mount Paozu. The nocturnal animals returned to their natural habitats, bush-whacked from a long day of trekking and hunting. Mother birds from different trees settled in their nests and slept peacefully through the night.
Tree frogs chirped and creaked from overhanging branches. Crickets played music from the grass. A Night owl stood on an overhanging branch, hooting softly from within the dark forests.
Goku sat down on the floor with Cerofla and her sisters in Grandpa Gohan’s house. It was another day of training with the girls as they helped Goku hone his fighting skills by sparring with him each passing day. It was tough for him though, especially whenever he was sparring with Fejota.
Through the months he’d spent with the girls, Goku found Fejota’s fighting style was hard to counter, as she always used her legs to kick out at her opponent while feigning punches towards them. Her kicks were fast and strong enough to stun a person, but Goku still had the advantage in dodging most of the attacks. But even then it still didn’t make a difference.
However, through each everyday sparring session he finished, he could feel himself getting stronger. Not nowhere near Cerofla and her sister’s level of skill yet, but he felt like it was just a matter of time before he could hold his own against them. He hadn’t gotten anywhere close to reaching Fejota’s strength but there was still progress being made.
One issue Goku was struggling with through his training was manipulating his ki to allow him the ability to fly. The only little progress he made was hovering five feet in the air every now and then, but he would still struggle when it came to fighting or combat midair. But that was fine; he would work on improving it. He was determined to master flying and become as agile and powerful as those who trained him.
“A Great Ape's power is equal to the Saiyan's power level prior to the transformation multiplied by ten. A Saiyan loses the ability to reason in this form, and will typically display berserk and destructive characteristics.” Cerofla stated as she ate the last piece of meat from the bone, throwing said bone to the side before continuing. “However, our father told us that they still can retain some sense of friend and foe deep within their subconscious, which can be awoken. When I transformed into a great ape for the first time, It took me two days to gain control of both the form and its power. The same could be said for my sisters. But we don’t rely too much on its power except during battle, and to only use it as a last resort.”
Goku nodded.
“Okay, so what are the exceptions of using this Great Ape as a last resort?” Goku asked.
“If you’re facing an opponent that is too tough for you to beat, only then should you utilize the Great Ape’s power.” Fejota explained, a smirk gracing her lips. “Or if you wanna make things real fun, you can use it to blow up a lot of slugs and villages. Destruction and mayhem are great ways to show a Great Ape’s power!”
Goku frowned. “Fejota, I’m not gonna hurt anyone.”
Figsene rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, we know.” Figsene said with a dismissive wave of her hand. “Anyway, a Saiyan also needs to absorb at least seven-teen million zeno units of Blutz Waves through the retina of the eyes to initiate the transformation. Blutz Waves are found only in sunlight reflected by a moon. If there is no moon, a planetary body will reflect the same number of rays and initiate the transformation. The easiest way to achieve this is to gaze at the full moon.”
Figsene and her sisters looked at Goku and notice him staring back with a blank expression.
“You’re not getting any of this, are you?” Cerofla asked. Goku chuckled while rubbing the back of his head.
“Heh, heh, no…” Goku trailed off awkwardly.
Cerofla and her sisters sighed collectively.
“Just… just follow us, okay?” Lementine finally suggested to the bewildered Saiyan.
“Okay, lead the way~!” Goku replied with enthusiasm.
Cerofla and her sisters got up on their feet and started towards the main door. Goku trailed after them as his tail sways behind him. Cerofla looked at Goku over her shoulder.
“Keep your eyes on us when we’re outside. Don’t look up to the moon until we tell you to.” Cerofla advised, before leading Goku outside and towards the open area. Goku nodded and followed.
Goku kept his eyes on Cerofla as she stood at the field’s center. Slowly lifting her head to look up at the moon. Nothing happened for a few minutes. He listened to the gentle breeze rustling the leaves.
Suddenly, Cerofla’s body pulsed and throbbed, before growing dramatically. Fur sprouted from her arms and legs, and they began to darkened. Within seconds, she had changed beyond recognition, now a full-sized Giant Ape.
The Ape raised its massive arms and let out a roar of raw fury that reverberated throughout the surrounding forest. The entire ecosystem shrieked in response. Birds burst through the canopy and spiraled through a night sky as shadowy fragments.
Goku immediately went rigid at the giant ape before him. He heard a deep rumbling growl, prompting him to turn his gaze towards Fejota who was growing in size. Lementine and Figsene followed suit as all three of them grew into giant Great Apes.
Fejota raised her massive arms and bellowed into the night sky. The bellow was trailed by a similar roar from Figsene and Lementine together, resonating across the entire forest, waking up every animal from their slumber and causing the ground to shake. All the while leaving Goku to gaze up uncertainly at the four Great Apes.
Goku couldn’t comprehend the monster he was witnessing, his mind racing back to a time long ago when Grandpa Gohan was still alive. The night when he snuck out during a full moon, the night when his Grandpa Gohan was killed by a giant monster; these girls looked just like that monster. But he acknowledges his feelings of guilt and sorrow for his actions that cost Grandpa Gohan’s life. Goku could see clearly now that the monster was him all along.
“What’s wrong, Goku? Too scared to speak?” Fejota teased, her voice was deep and animalistic in this form, but she could make words. Goku didn’t respond to her little tease.
Goku fell on all fours without warning. Tears threatened to spill over. His emotions were all over the place. Guilt for what he did, grief at what had been done to his Grandpa, and anger towards himself for not doing for what he was told. He could’ve prevented it.
“It was me.” Goku blurted suddenly as the tears flowed freely.
The others stared at him for a second, not sure what he was talking about. Fejota and Figsene shared a puzzled glance before turning back towards Goku. Lementine arched a brow at the Saiyan boy. Cerofla remained silent and folded her massive arms.
“It’s all my fault.” Goku continued. “The monster who killed Grandpa Gohan. It was… it was all me!”
A deep thoughtful hum rose from Cerofla
’s throat. Figsene furrowed her brow in thought. Fejota placed her massive hands on her hips while smirking down at the pitiful Saiyan defect.
“Oh look, girls. The Saiyan defect is submitting to his emotions. How pathetic,” Fejota mocked with a laugh. “I don’t know why you’re crying over a dead ant that’s no longer around. If anything you should relish in having your first kill; we Saiyans lust for bloodshed after all.”
Goku immediately got up on his feet. Glaring daggers up at Fejota. Both of his hands formed into fist.
“He was not an ant, he was my Grandpa!” Goku exclaimed. “There is nothing satisfying about taking the life of an innocent person, it is wrong! Power without responsibility is useless; it only causes destruction. Great power should only be used to protect all living things, not destroy them!”
Fejota’s burning red eyes glared down at Goku. Every word that came out of the boy’s mouth was an annoyance. Even now she still wonders what happened to Goku to make him so soft. Her jaws parted to speak, until Cerfola raised her hand and stopped Fejota in mid stride.
Cerofla turned back towards Goku to see him shifting his gaze to her.
“If you really want to protect the inhabitants of this planet, really protect them,” Cerofla emphasized the point, “then you will do this. You will train to control the Great Ape’s power, so that no one will suffer the same fate as your caretaker.”
Goku remained silent. Indeed, Cerofla was right. With the kind of power he had, if not careful, someone may die. He couldn’t let that happen again.
Goku glanced back up at Cerofla with a determined glare.
“I’ll do it, yes!” Goku declared as he clenched his fists. Cerofla nodded approvingly.
“Good… then look upon the moon, Goku.” Cerofla instructed as she and her sisters moved to the side.
Goku looked up as instructed. There, high in the sky, was a large, rough white orb, casting its radiant light down on him: the moon was full.
A red veil of hatred covered Goku's eyes as he despised the tiger for its roar. He held deep resentment towards Fejota for disrespecting his late Grandpa Gohan. Goku also harbored self-hatred for the decisions he had made. Regret consumed him for causing the death of his own grandpa. Furthermore, he resented Grandpa Gohan for leaving him alone in this world.
He hated everything!
Goku’s muscles expanded, tearing his clothes to shreds. Dark brown fur covered his body as it morphed and grew, becoming an enormous Ape. Less than thirty seconds later, he was several stories tall and unrecognizable.
Opening its glowing red eyes, the Giant Ape raised its massive arms and roared at the sky. Its roar was akin to a blasting napalm as it reverberated throughout the surrounding forest. It seemed like a shockwave traveled from the ape’s lips, spreading throughout the forest and reaching a far away village within range.
The roar woke every scared villager from their sleep.
Cerofla and her sisters watched the now transformed Great Ape Goku turn away from them. Opening up its large, toothy maw and exhaled a massive beam of energy. Said beam hit a nearby mountain, erupting it like a volcano, plummeting fire and smoke into the air. The trees bowed away from the explosion and scorching winds roared throughout the area.
The beast stomped forward while beating its chest with its massive, hairy arms, each muscle bulging and expanding under its immense weight. Hundreds of animals were squawking and screaming, fleeing from the approaching behemoth. Its long thick tail swayed behind from side to side.
Cerofla observed the beast as it began destroying trees and small mountains with its fists. The Great Ape roared with seismic force, shaking the earth below its feet. Some of the animals that found shelter cowered in fear, while others ran further away to escape the destructive beast.
Cerofla glanced at Lementine. She nodded her head towards Lementine, signaling her to commence phase two. Lementine nodded back and began sprinting towards the wandering beast.
The Great Ape looked over its shoulder, and saw Lementine leapt towards it with incredible speed and agility. It quickly swiveled around and clashed with her by grasping both of Lementines’ hands and interlocking its fingers with hers.
The pair growled fiercely at each other, struggling against their opponent’s iron grip. The great ape broke free of her grasp, and swung down a punch toward her. Lementine raised her arm to block it, then slammed into the behemoth’s side, sending him into a nearby mountain, crushing it like it was but a pile of blocks beneath him as it fell.
Lementine lips widened to a toothy grin and took a step forward.
Bulma’s world blurred as she charged mindlessly past an endless expanse of trees. The mother Inflatasaurus persuades behind her, bellowing tremendously. The behemoth crashed through the jungle, causing branches to crack and snap beneath its bulk. Each methodic footstep made the floor shake, intensifying the already overwhelming situation. It was a truly terrifying experience, one that left Bulma feeling utterly helpless.
All of this just to get one dragon ball.
Bulma found herself in a state of great distress. Her natural instincts had taken over, leaving her with no choice but to flee. Fighting or hiding was deemed futile, and so she resorted to running. As Bulma ran, she became increasingly disoriented and lost, straying far from her intended destination. Despite Bulma’s reluctance to look back, she could sense the presence of the dinosaur lurking behind her.
However, Bulma could not resist the urge to glance over her shoulder. What she saw caused her stomach to plummet and her eyes to widen in terror. The Inflatasaurus rex was closing in on her with alarming ease. In a matter of mere steps, it would have her in its jaws. The situation was dire, and Bulma knew that she had to act quickly if she were to have any hope of survival.
The Inflatasaurus roared with seismic force as it barreled after her through the forest. The rising humidity smothered Bulma akin to wet cloth, her legs bowed, she had been running for what felt like an eternity and her body was failing her. Bulma sprinted through the forest, jumped over logs and rocks. Her vision pulse by her throbbing heart-beats. She was intoxicated by her adrenaline.
Bulma had never exerted herself so vigorously in her entire existence, not since the time she managed to evade a ravenous giant crocodile. The recollection of the creature's menacing growl, the sound of its jaws snapping shut, and the thunderous footfalls that ensued still caused her distress to this day. However, the current situation was far more dire, a hundred times more perilous!
With her keen eyesight, Bulma perceived the conclusion of the forest a few meters beyond a cluster of trees. She came to a halt at the edge of a precipice, her heart pounding with trepidation. She peered over the edge and the sight that greeted her was nothing short of breathtaking. The vast expanse of the ocean lay before Bulma, its waves crashing against the rocks below, nearly sixty feet beneath her feet.
Bulma hesitated to jump. The ferocious howl of the Inflatasaurus reached her ears, causing her to turn her head towards the end of the forest where the bushes were being smashed through. The sight that met her eyes was that of the Inflatasaurus, with its jaws spread wide, and its teeth glinting in the moonlight.
Subsequently, Bulma looked back down at the ocean below and decided to leap off the cliff. Bulma screamed in terror as gravity wrenched her down. She caught a glimpse of the night sky as she fell, the moon shone bright and the stars twinkled above her.
Bulma quickly retrieved a capsule from her pocket, pressed the top trigger with her thumb, and her world was enveloped in white smoke. The smoke cleared out and she was now sitting in a seat of her airplane. Bulma steered the aircraft by ascending it to the heavens, soaring across the horizon.
Bulma lets out a collective sigh as she tries to comprehend what just happened. She had done something reckless, something incredibly foolish. Not only did she almost die, but she did it without thinking. She had no idea what would've happened to her, if she didn’t have her capsules with her. But all that mattered was that she had a dragon ball.
“That was a close one.” Said Bulma quietly to herself.
Bulma pulled out a box from under her seat. She placed the orange gem inside said box before closing the lid. She set it down next to her feet and continued driving.
Bulma blinked.
Did she hear a roar just now?
No, she must be hearing things.
Maybe it was from the Inflatasaurus she escaped.
Yeah, that’s gotta be it.
Bulma proceeded forward in her aircraft.
Following the tracker of her dragon radar, the hunt for the dragon balls continues.
Notes:
A/N: Goku's training has begun! Here's a bit of a backstory on Cerofla's family. Cerofla's father found out about the Zenkais when he was almost at death's door. This was around the time before Vegeta's father was born where his grandfather, Emperor Vegeta reigned on Planet Vegeta. When Cerofla's father learned of this ability he relayed it to both his mate and his children. But before he could tell any of his Saiyan brethren of this ability, he and his mate died in the field of battle.
But Cerofla and her sisters are unaware of this.
Now Goku has two challenges to overcome through his training with the girls. Flying being the first, and controlling the great ape form as the second. Will he be able to grasp control of said form? Only time will tell. Next chapter will feature the main event when Goku and the young female Saiyans meet Bulma and learn about the dragon balls. I'll be going now, hope you all have a nice day or night wherever you are.
See you in the next chapter, my little shimmerings!
Chapter Text
The roaring waterfall crashed against the cliff walls of its own volition as it fell into a giant river from below. A wandering deer walked up to the shoreline, lowering its head to the water’s surface, and began to drink. Butterflies fluttered by overhead in an unseen breeze, while fish swam nearby in search of food. A pteranodon opened up its wings, giving them a good flap lifting its body into the sky. With a few more quick flaps it flew up into the clear blue sky, soaring above the surrounding forest.
Goku hummed in contentment while riding on top of a sliced round wood. On his shoulder he carried a giant saw that was bigger than his head. But despite its size, Goku was carrying it with ease, as if it weighed nothing at all. All the while humming a cheerful tune and rolling down the dirt road.
Once he made it back to his safe abode, he set the thick round wood in front of him and assumed a somewhat fighting stance. Goku moved his arms from one way to another, channeling his energy into said arms. Slowly he raised up his hands and brought them down to the wood’s side. Grasping it firmly while grunting as he slightly struggled to lift it over his head.
Goku threw the wood high above him then leapt into the air. Emanating a battle cry before plunging his foot through the wood. Breaking it in a few or more pieces. He landed on the ground with his knuckles pressed against the earth, and crouched on one knee. One by one rectangular shaped wood descended in a perfectly stacked pyramid.
“Well, that takes care of that.” Goku said, smiling triumphantly at his work.
Goku blinked. He placed his hands on his stomach.
"Whoa, I'm hungry. Heh, heh, better go find something for me and the others to eat."
Goku turned around and started towards the hut. Pushing through the double doors, he enters the main room. Grabbing the strap of his red polearm holster from his bed, and throwing it around his shoulder. Goku shifted his gaze to the small orange gem sitting atop of a purple pillow. Goku walked up to the ball and clasped his hands together, bowing slightly to acknowledge the ball.
"Grandpa?" Goku called to the orange gem. "Stay there, okay. This won’t take long; I'll be right back."
A low hum halted Goku in his tracks. He looked over his shoulder, and saw the orange gem glowing brightly. He twisted his torso to face the gem.
“Golly, I’ve never seen you shine bright like that Grandpa, how strange,” Goku commented in surprise. “Can you do that again?”
Goku frowned when the gen didn’t grace him with a response.
“Who are you talking to, softie?”
Goku glanced over his shoulder and saw Figsene standing outside the temple. She walked inside until she stood beside Goku, placing her hands on her hips. Her gaze landed on the orange four star gem.
“I was just talking to Grandpa Gohan,” Goku replied, glancing at Figsene.
“You mean this gem?” Figsene inquired, looking at the gem curiously.
“Is that what it is? Well, before Grandpa died he gave me this to remember him by. So I keep it here where it’s safe.” Goku explained. Figsene arched a brow at Goku.
“And you believe your Grandpa can hear you through this gem?” Figsene shook her head and turned away towards the exit. “You are such a weirdo. Both a weirdo and an idiot.”
Goku trails after Figsene until he walks by her side.
“Hey, I was gonna head out to find something for us to eat today, wanna come?” Goku asked, beaming at Figsene with a smile.
Figsene rolled her eyes.
“As long as you don’t fool around and throw another frog at my face, fine,” Figsene answered bluntly, walking ahead of Goku. Goku pouted while slightly quickening his pace to catch up to her.
“Oh come on, that was one time!” Goku protested. Figsene glanced at Goku with narrowed eyes.
“And slapping you in the face with my tail was one time,” Figsene retorted, turning to walk ahead of Goku. “And I would’ve done more, had I been the one you were sparing with.”
Figsene and Goku started through the forest. Once the pair perceived the conclusion of a clearing ahead, they broke out into a full sprint. Goku and Figsenes’ feet pounded against the dirt road, leaving deep grooves in their wake. Jumping from branch to branch, they move with practiced ease, making quick time to their destination. All while Goku was laughing happily as he swung from vine to vine.
Another beautiful day, Goku thought.
Figsene watched Goku walk along the shoreline before stopping halfway. Turning toward a spot close to the lake's edge, rolling around and slowly dipped half of his tail into the water. Figsene emulated Goku’s actions by stepping towards an edge at her side. Rolling her body around and slowly dipped half of her tail into the water.
Figsene Immediately felt the chills seeping through her body. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, reveling in the sensation. The pair gave their tails a good shake in the water, forming rippling waves on the surface. They stayed rooted at that stance for a few minutes.
In an instant Goku and Figsene turned around, yanking their tails out as two huge fishes burst out of the water into the air. The two fishes’ scales glisten with water droplets. Goku and Figsene leapt high in the air, above the fish's head. The duo kicked hard on the fish's forehead, sending the fish crashing into the shore.
The creatures’ laid there, still stunned from what just occurred. Their jaws opened wide as their eyes stared into space and breathing heavily. Goku giggles to himself as he trots towards the fish's tail, scooping it up with ease and resting said tail on his shoulder.
"Alright! This should keep us filled until dinner." He laughs and starts forward with the fish dragged behind. He closes his eyes, humming a tune along the way, while Figsene trailed beside him dragging her fish behind her.
Figsene glanced at Goku as they walked. His lips were still graced with a content smile. Figsene wondered if his cheeks hurt from grinning all the time. Surely there was something wrong with him; It just wasn't normal to be so cheerful. Especially for a Saiyan.
Figsene blinked. Goku stopped in his tracks. Prompting Figsene to raise a brow at the young Saiyan boy.
“Do you hear that?” Goku asked, glancing at her.
Figsene looked around. She and Goku were standing in the middle of a dirt road. She tried to listen to whatever it was Goku was hearing, but she didn’t hear anything. That was until Figsene felt the ground shake beneath her boots.
The pair turned to their left in time to see a speeding pale blue vehicle approaching them. Goku went rigid as the blue car was nearing them. He was about to turn and run, but then Figsene grabbed a handful of his gi, and leapt in the air over the car as it sped past them from below.
Figsene landed on the ground beside Goku. Letting go of the latter along with the fish that fell to the earth’s floor with a small thud, and launched herself towards the car. Her fist plunged through the rear-view window, shattering the glass with ease, which caused the individual in the driver’s seat to shriek in horror.
Figsene grabbed said individual by their shirt and un-gracefully tossed them out of the car. The earthling landed on their back with a grunt, slowly sitting up on their rear. The earthling’s lips parted to shout a complaint, but then immediately went rigid when Figsene appeared in front of them. Her arm outstretched with a ball of energy charging on her palm.
Figsene eyed the earth girl glancing up at her in fear. The girl had a tender appearance, and had milky colored skin. She had her turquoise hair in a braided ponytail with a red ribbon. She donned a very short pink dress with a name on it with blue sneakers and purple socks.
“What’re you doing trespassing our territory, you low-life?” Figsene demanded, narrowing her eyes at the frightened earthling. Goku stepped alongside Figsene and pointed his power-pole at the latter.
“Yeah, and if you think you can take us down easily then you’re wrong, monster!” Goku declared, inching his staff closer to the earthling’s face.
“Monster?” The earthling repeated, raising her hands. “Hold on you guys I’m not a monster, I’m a human being just like you are!”
Figsene shook her head with a chuckle.
“Human beings? Ha! Earth-girl, you should get your eyes checked,” Figsene scoffed at the earthling, her lips graced with a smirk. “We’re not human beings; me and softie here belong to a proud warrior race called Saiyans.”
Goku blinked. Realization dawned on him upon what Figsene said.
“You’re a girl?” Goku asked, looking at the earth-girl with slightly wide eyes. The latter shifted her gaze to the young boy.
“Oh my gosh, are you saying you’ve never seen a girl before?” Bulma inquired, a bit shocked.
“Oh no, I have, but besides my grandpa you’re the first human being that I’ve ever seen.” Goku replied, pulling his staff away from the girl and holding it at his side. “Grandpa told me about girls; he told me if I ever ran into a girl that I should be as polite as I possibly could.”
“I see.” Acknowledged the earth-girl, smiling at Goku. “Well, what a nice thing to say. Your grandpa sounds like a very wise man, is he?”
Figsene retreated backwards while her hand was still aiming at the girl.
"Get up, now." Figsene ordered sharply. The earth-girl complied and stood up on her feet.
Figsene parted her lips, as to ask the earth girl why she was here until she noticed Goku round behind said earth girl. Figsene raised a brow at Goku, wondering what he was doing. Her eyes grew large when she saw Goku bring his pole halfway up to the earthling’s skirt.
In an instant, Figsene stepped up to Goku and slapped the side of his head hard. Goku shouted in pain and rubbed where the pain was radiating with his hand. He turned to face Figsene with bewilderment washing over his countenance.
“Ow, hey! What was that for?” Goku asked, rubbing the back of his head.
“What do you think you’re doing, idiot?” Figsene scolded, placing her hands on her hips while glaring. Goku tilted his head in confusion.
“I was just trying to see if she had a tail.” Goku answered honestly, giving a sheepish grin as he placed his pole down to the side.
“Well she doesn’t have one, moron. She just established that she’s human,” Figsene stated, folding her arms and closing her eyes. “A pure-blooded Saiyan features black hair, black eyes, and a tail. This earth girl doesn’t have either of those. Therefore, not a Saiyan.”
Goku nodded. “Ohh, okay.”
The earth-girl looked between the two Saiyans, confusion etched on her face. Goku turned his head to the girl and bowed his head. The earth-girl blinked in surprise.
“I’m sorry if we scared you mrs.” Goku apologized, straightening his spine.
The girl looked at Figsene incredulously, then back at Goku. "Uh, yeah, sure. No problem."
"Alright earth-girl, why don't you tell us who you are and why you are here?" Figsene ordered.
The girl straightened, feeling slightly better with her but still apprehensive. "Uh, well my name is Bulma."
Goku extended his hand.
“My name is Goku. G.O.K.U!” He introduced himself. Bulma reluctantly shook his hand. Then Goku pointed towards Figsene.
"And that’s my friend, Figsene, whom you met already, heh, heh." He said. Figsene turned away with a huff.
"Yeah, no kidding." Bulma humorlessly joked.
Figsene glanced up at Bulma with a raised brow.
"So, why is someone like you way out here, Bulma?" She inquired suspiciously.
"I'm actually here looking for the dragonballs." Bulma answered without skipping a beat.
Goku and Figsene exchanged puzzled glances before shifting their gaze back to Bulma.
"The what?" Figsene asked.
Bulma dropped her backpack and reached in.
"These!" She pulled out two small orange orbs. Figsene and Goku looked at them, then gasped in amazement.
"Hey, I have one just like those!" Goku exclaimed.
"Really?" Bulma asked excitedly.
"Yeah, I do." Goku answered, feeling curious. He never knew more of these orbs existed, let alone what they were called.
Bulma seemed to sense that Goku and Figsene didn't know the importance of these things and they had it.
"Can I see it?" She asked them.
Figsene narrowed her eyes at Bulma suspiciously but before she could ask why, Goku spoke up for her.
"Sure!" He responded warmly, already forgetting the tiff from earlier. "It's up at our place. Hey, you know what? Why don't you come on in? We were gonna have lunch anyways, so you can tell us about these dragon balls."
Bulma couldn't believe her luck.
"Sure! Lunch sounds good." She said enthusiastically.
"Goku, you can’t just-" Figsene started, but he had already grabbed the big fish he caught and the pair were heading towards the hut.
Figsene glared at Goku’s back. He was inviting a stranger—a trespasser nonetheless into their territory. But at the same time, she’d be lying if she said she too wasn’t curious to know what these dragon balls are.
Figsene sighed and followed a bit further behind as they headed up towards the hut.
Cerofla cleaned and cooked the giant fish Goku caught while Bulma chatted away with Goku and her sisters. She was feeling rather cautious, since this was the first time they've ever had a visitor in their home. Lementine had informed her that she had seen other humans before during the trips to the village, but kept as low a profile as she could as neither she nor her sisters wanted attention drawn to themselves.
This Bulma gave her an air of having an ulterior motive for being here, since NO ONE comes here on purpose besides them. So Cerofla kept constantly glancing over her shoulder towards Bulma as she cooked. When lunch was ready, Cerofla set the fish plates down on the table just as she was catching what Bulma was saying. Goku busied himself between eating the fish and listening to Bulma's story.
"And when you gather all seven of them, a magical dragon is supposed to appear and grant you one wish."
"Wow, really?" Goku asked, fascinated by the tale and far more enthralled. The other two dragon balls she had were on the table to show to Goku, Figsene, Lementine, and Fejota.
"Yep!" Bulma replied with absolute certainty.
Fejota folded her arms and turned away. She didn't really believe in the legend. This earth-girl was just a spoiled city girl out looking for a little fun, so her coming here was just basically a scavenger hunt for jewels. It also didn’t help that the little softie invited Bulma here on their turf.
"Say the dragon does appear, what will you wish for?" Lementine asked, and Bulma smiled.
“Well, if you must know, my first wish is to have a perfect boyfriend,” Bulma admitted, cupping her cheeks with her hands while gushing like a schoolgirl. Goku blinked with a blank expression while Cerofla and her sisters eyed Bulma with a raised brow.
Cerofla folded her arms and turned away from the others. Even if there was such a thing as a wish granting dragon, why waste such a power on growing something so simple? But, she didn't seem to be lying. What gain would there be if she was?
Cerofla’s eyes slightly widened. If what Bulma said was true, and that there really was a granting dragon...would it mean that there was actually a chance she and her sisters could get back home? Cerofla felt a spark of hope. They’ll be reunited with their parents again? She took a deep breath, trying to push aside those thoughts and shifted her gaze towards her sisters.
“Sisters, come.” Cerofla commanded in an authoritative voice, her voice holding authority that only a princess could possess. Lementine, Figsene, and Fejota exchanged looks but the trio shrugged indifferently.
Cerofla and her sisters exited the temple. Goku was about to follow them, but then Cerofla twisted her torso and outstretched her palm, signaling him to stay put. He obeyed and stayed rooted where he was next to Bulma. Cerofla and her sisters launched into the sky with a burst of energy.
They continued ascending to the heavens until they were above the clouds. Cerofla and her sisters hovered in the air as they looked down upon the world below. Cerofla folded her arms and stared at her sisters.
“What do you girls think?” Cerofla questioned, looking expectantly at her sisters.
Fejota crossed her arms and smirked.
“Well, I think the whole dragonball deal is a load of bull,” Fejota replied bluntly. “A dragon that can grant wishes? That sounds more like a fairy tail than a legend.”
Lementine places her hands on her hips while glancing at Fejota.
“But you have to admit sis, a dragon that can grant any wishes? That’s worth investigating and finding out.” Lementine reasoned. Figsene glanced at the earth’s floor.
“I also was thinking that maybe we could wish for the dragon to transport us back home.” Figsene added. Cerofla closed her eyes.
“I was thinking the same thing,” Cerofla stated, grabbing her sister’s attention. “If…and I say if these dragon balls are the real deal, along with this granting dragon…then we can use them to hopefully wish ourselves back to Planet Vegeta.”
Lementine, Figsene, and Fejota all stared at her with surprise. Cerofla stared at the earth’s floor. Her eyes landed on the temple, which was as small as a dot due to she and her sisters hovering hundreds-to-thousand feet in the air.
“I believe we should take this opportunity to go with the earth-girl, help her collect these dragon balls. Once we have them all, we can make our move and ask for the dragon to send us home.” Cerofla explained.
Figsene’s brow rose in intrigue.
“That’s a pretty good idea actually.” Fejota admitted thoughtfully. Lementine and Figsene nodded in agreement.
Lementine blinked upon when realization dawned on her.
“What about Goku? Should we bring him to Planet Vegeta as well?” Lementine inquired, looking at Cerofla curiously. Fejota scoffed and turned her narrowing gaze towards Lementine.
“What about Goku?” Fejota questioned incredulously. “You really want to invite that sorry excuse of a Saiyan to our home? With the soft personality he has?”
Figsene nodded.
“I’m with Fejota. I mean, can you imagine him among other Saiyans in the Saiyan society? He’ll be an embarrassment to our race, and I doubt he’ll survive in the environment we’re used to living in.” Figsene added.
Cerofla narrowed her eyes at her sisters.
“In case you three forgot, all four of us are royalty. Indeed Goku is an embarrassment to our race, there is no denying it,” Cerofla began. “But like us he is a Saiyan, and therefore our subject. If he willingly wants to come, let ‘em, and if he refuses then we’ll just leave him here to die along with the inhabitants of this planet once we destroy it.”
Figsene arched her brow at Cerofla.
“We’re gonna destroy this planet?” Figsene asked, sounding quite astonished.
Cerofla nodded in affirmation.
“Not yet at least. I had thought about having us leave mount paozu and travel around the world, see what this planet has to offer. If this planet is worth enough value to be sold to some space king, then we’ll only annihilate all of earth’s inhabitants and leave it intact.” Cerofla explained. Her sisters listened while remaining silent. “And Bulma’s arrival only serves as a catalyst for the plan. We will find the dragon balls, and will kill anyone who gets in our way. Understood?”
Cerofla’s sisters nodded with a smirk that spoke volumes. Satisfied with their responses Cerofla and her sisters began to descend back to earth. They landed near the temple just in time to see Goku and Bulma exit said temple.
“Oh hey, you’re back!” Goku greeted excitedly, his face brightened up considerably with excitement to see the others return. “Is everything alright? Where do you guys go?”
Fejota narrowed her eyes on Goku.
“That’s for us to know, and for you to not be concerned with, softie.” Fejota replied coldly, her voice carrying an undercurrent of irritation. Goku gave Fejota a perplexed look for a moment before a smile spread across his lips.
“Oh, okay then.” Goku replied.
Cerofla glanced up at Bulma.
“We decided that we’ll join you on your quest to finding the dragon balls.” Cerofla announced.
Bulma looked surprised at hearing that.
"Oh wow, really?" Bulma asked, almost disbelievingly. "You're serious?"
"Of course we're serious," Figsene chimed in.
Bulma blinked. A smile graced his lips.
“Well, that’s great! Kind of a coincidence too, Goku was gonna ask if you guys wanted to tag along in our adventure,” Bulma explained, gesturing towards Goku before pumping her fist in the air with a smile. “But it’s settled then, our great adventure is a go!”
Cerofla sighed while closing her eyes.
“Just lead the way.” She muttered.
“Okay, let’s go!” Bulma exclaimed, starting forward with Goku, Cerofla, and her sisters walking beside her.
Goku blinked as a sudden realization dawned on him.
“Hey Bulma, how do we know where we start looking? The dragon balls could be anywhere in the whole world, right?” Goku asked, glancing up at Bulma. Bulma giggled whilst placing her hands on her hips and smiled triumphantly.
“Just who do you think you’re dealing with here kid? I’m no amateur,” Bulma declared proudly, reaching into her bag and displaying it for Goku and the Saiyan girls to see. “Look, check it out.”
Goku, Cerofla, and her sisters glanced up at a device on Bulma’s hand. Bulma’s thumb flexed, tapping the trigger as the device came to life with a looping beep. A pale yellow dot on the green blinked rapidly on the screen.
“It’s a special radar that tracks the dragon balls,” Bulma explained, pointing her finger at the rapidly blinking dot. “Look, see these three dots? These are our three balls. And these are the other dragon balls. Looks like the closest one is right here, about seven-hundred-and-fifty miles to the west.”
Goku, Cerofla, and her sisters nodded in understanding.
“Is that far?” Goku asked.
“Let’s just say it is out of our walking distance, and since your friend messed up my car we’ll be needing a new set of wheels.” Bulma replied, shoving the dragon radar back in her blue bag.
Bulma pulls out a silver case out of said blue bag. She flips the lid open with a click, containing enough capsules that’ll help her and her new companions on their journey. Her finger ran across the bottom of each capsule, until she grabbed one and took it in her hand.
Ah, this one would be fun for a while, Bulma thought.
“Stay back you guys, stay there.” Bulma instructed as she tossed the capsule akin to a pebble.
The second the capsule hit the ground, it exploded in gray smoke. When the smoke faded, a white van was sitting in its place with a door open. Cerofla and her sisters were honestly amazed by what they witnessed. None more so than Goku.
“Whoa! B-Bulma, how did you do that? You’re some kind of a witch, huh?” Goku asked, awestruck.
Bulma walked up to the new vessel then turned her gaze towards Goku.
“What? Nonsense. Witchcraft has nothing to do with it,” Bulma stated as if it were a known fact. “Everyone in the city has dino-caps; how could you travel without them?”
One by one Cerofla and her sisters embark the van. Leaving the cautious Goku poking at their transporting vessel. Fejota glances at Goku from her passenger seat and glares at him.
“Would you come on, softie? It’s not an animal so it won’t bite you.” Fejota remarked.
Goku blinked and entered the vehicle. He sat down at the front seat next to Bulma. Bulma slides in her keys in the ignition before turning the van on. The engine roared to life and the van drove forward.
“Wow! This thing could move fast!” Goku marveled, glancing up at Bulma.
Bulma glanced down at Goku.
“No duh squirt, get with the program.” Bulma commented dryly. “Now you better buckle up, wouldn’t want to fall from your seat.”
The van proceeded to drive forward down the roads of Mount paozu. The group in the vehicle remained silent for a while through their journey. Goku stared off into the distance, occasionally gazing at the scenery passing him by through the window. A short while later, they pulled over as Bulma exited the van. Goku, Cerofla, and her sisters followed suit.
“Excuse me for a minute guys, time for a pit stop.” Bulma stated casually, beginning to walk towards a giant rock. Goku disembarked the van to trail after her.
“Okay, we’ll come too.” Goku replied simply.
Bulma rounded at Goku, her lips parted but Cerofla spoke up for her.
“No, we won’t.” Cerofla stated firmly, shifting her gaze towards Bulma. “Don’t take too long.”
Bulma nodded and sprinted towards the rock. Disappearing around the corner. Goku tilted his head in bewilderment.
“I don’t get it. Why can’t she just do whatever she needs to do right here? How strange.” Goku commented, looking at Cerofla. Cerofla and her sisters sighed simultaneously.
“You’re the strange one, Goku.” Fejota retorted, disappointment washing over her countenance.
“Guys! Come here! Quick!”
Goku, Cerofla, and her sisters immediately became alarmed upon hearing Bulma’s scream. They sprinted forward, rounding around a corner and were greeted by an unexpected sight. Towering before them was a giant pteranodon.
Said pteranodon had Bulma in its claws as she shrieked in terror. The behemoth turned to face Goku and the girls with a toothy grin and looked down at them. It chuckled menacingly while ignoring Bulma’s screams.
“Who the heck are you, children?” The pteranodon asked.
“My name is Goku. Are you a friend of Bulmas?” Goku inquired politely.
The pteranodon chuckled again, arching his arm back as his tail took Bulma in its grasp. But before he could reply, he choked back a scream when he felt a burning pain from below. He doubled over and saw that Cerofla had charged forth, landing a punch that dug into his guts.
Bulma shouted as the creature’s tail uncoiled itself, releasing her from the behemoth’s grip. She quickly scurried back to Goku and Cerofla’s sisters, watching from behind Fejota and Figsene. The pteranodon clutched his middle, eyes wide with shock and pain.
Cerofla’s hand reached out before her, palm charging with violent red energy. The creature before her cowered. Before it could do anything the power fled her hand. It consumed the pterosaur, its screams flooded the air.
Its offal splattered outwards, some of it on the ground and speckled her face. Cerofla spat on the ground. She had to work on concentrating her energy better, to the point where there wasn't a single trace of her enemies left.
Cerofla turned away towards the van with her sisters trailing after her.
Leaving behind a terrified Bulma Briefs and Son Goku who stared in shock at the bloody remains of the now obliterated pterosaur.
Notes:
A/N: And that's today's chapter my little shimmerings! Cerofla and her sister's secret plan is set. With said plan set in motion, they will ensure that no one will get in their way, and Cerofla made that pterosaur's horrible demise a perfect example. On one hand, Bulma has bodyguards who'll protect her throughout their journey, but on the other hand, anyone who's not among their group will be shown no mercy if they ever become a threat to them.
Which is what Cerofla had made clear in this chapter. She and her sisters have no qualms with killing those they deem deserving. Something that will no doubt bother Goku as they search for the dragon balls. I'll be going now, but what do you guys think will happen next? Comment below when you have the time. Have a good day or night wherever you are.
See you all in the next chapter my little shimmerings!
Chapter Text
AGE: 737
She was a Princess. A true Saiyan warrior among the elites. She was the incarnation of carnage and destruction. The epitome of wrath and savagery. A true Saiyan with an unbreakable spirit. A force to be reckoned with.
Her name was Rhuma.
Rhuma's lips widened to an evil grin as she outstretched her hand, palm charging with violent red energy. The cyan slugs before her cowered. They'd seen what had happened to their comrades; their remains were painted on the ground around them. They knew what she was capable of. What she was going to do to them.
The power fled her hands. It consumed the beings, and their screams filled his ears. Their bodies fell limp. One landed face down in the sand. The other was already decomposing, turning to ash before Rhuma's eyes as she watched.
The screams ended and all that remained was the smell of death and destruction, suffocating Rhuma's nostrils and mouth in an instant. Rhuma smirked as she rolled around and strode towards Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. Her caretaker grinned over at him, crossing his massive arms, a laugh bursting from his chest.
"Nice job Rhuma. You sure showed those slugs what you can do." Nappa said.
Rhuma placed her hands on her hips, casting a smirk at her twin brother sitting on a rock while eating a purple fruit. "Well, it's to be expected, Nappa. My skills are hard to compete with."
Vegeta paused and glanced up at his caretaker.
"What did I tell you, Nappa? Stop kissing up." Vegeta snapped, shifting his gaze towards Rhuma with a glare and a smirk. "Gloat while you can, Rhuma, but all it will take is for me to jump to another planet and your score will look pitiful."
Nappa chuckled, glancing at the ground where the remains of slugs laid dead. "Only eight years old, and the two of you can get better time than most of our warriors."
"What did you expect?" Vegeta scoffed, taking another bite of his food before swallowing and grinning wickedly, his tail twisting behind him. "We're of royal blood. Really, you shouldn't even be surprised, Nappa."
Raditz approached the trio while bringing his hands over his head, looking up at the sun in the sky.
"So our jobs are done right? What should we do now?" Raditz asked, looking between the trio. Nappa hummed thoughtfully.
"Well, we should—"
"Guys!"
Rhuma, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz froze. The four turned their heads to see who had called them. Running to them were a group of Saiyan elites. All of them wearing similar armor with different color variations of their Scouters.
"We got a message from the Frieza Force," one in the middle explained. "A meteor collided with Planet Vegeta. Our whole world has been obliterated!"
Nappa and Raditz gasped. Vegeta and Rhuma's eyes narrowed, but remained silent.
"Our whole world was obliterated!" Nappa repeated. "Impossible!"
"That means most of the Saiyan race was completely wiped out." One elite Saiyan added.
"But how? They should have detected the approaching meteor." Nappa wondered aloud, shaking his head in wonder. "We would've noticed something like that. They must have missed the signal, somehow."
Raditz frowns at the ground.
"Well, I guess we're pretty lucky, aren't we?" He glanced at Vegeta and Rhuma. "It's a good thing we decided to ignore Frieza's order to head home."
Vegeta clicked his tongue.
"Now I'll never get to be King Vegeta." He growled bitterly.
Rhuma folded her arms and glanced at Vegeta.
"You think you're upset? How do you think I feel?"
Nappa steps up to Vegeta and Rhuma with the elites following behind. "Vegeta, Rhuma, you two have a brother, don't you?"
Vegeta pauses for a moment. He glances back.
"Oh, yeah, I wonder if he got blown up too? Huh, not that it matters." Vegeta replied, redirecting his gaze back to his food before taking a bite.
Rhuma glanced at the ground and frowned briefly. Though Tarble was a weak Saiyan by birth, she was the only one among the royal family that secretly cared about him. The last time she and Tarble ever spoke to one another was before she and Vegeta went off to their next assignment. That was yesterday and she hadn't heard from him since.
The elites all share a look with each other.
"And you had a brother as well?" One Saiyan elite on the left asks, turning to Raditz.
"Hmm... Yeah, but he was just gonna be a lower-class warrior." Raditz explains. "He was still at home sleeping in a nursing capsule; the disgrace. Wait... I think Mum said she sent Kakarot off the planet in a pod though. Oh well, I couldn't care any less." Raditz waves off.
Rhuma turned away from the group and walked forward down the hill. Vegeta notices this, then swallows down the last piece of fruit, and stands up. He fastens his red cape on his back over his armor before trailing after his sister.
Rhuma already had donned her own cape, which was flowing out behind her as she stood with her arms to her sides. She stared at her clenched gloved hands. They itched to fight again, despite having destroyed so many of the planet's inhabitants mere moments before. Vegeta stepped by her side and glanced back at her, his eyes narrowed.
"That tyrant won't be around forever, Rhuma," he muttered. "He knows we're powerful, that's why he wiped out almost our entire race because of a single overriding fear."
"The legendary super saiyan," Rhuma assumed, glancing at Vegeta. Vegeta nodded.
Vegeta went to her side and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"We're the Prince and Princess of all Saiyans," he said to her, his tone laced with both fury and determination. "We're warriors, and with the royal blood of the fiercest race in the universe! We will not be under his boot for long. But until then…" He looked away by glancing up at the sky. "We have to play along. Indeed, we're strong, you and I. But we're no match for Frieza."
Rhuma also glanced up at the sky with Vegeta.
"Not yet…" Rhuma muttered.
Vegeta nodded and both he and his sister had a smirk gracing their lips.
"One day, Rhuma, we will kill him."
AGE: 740
"Rhuma?"
The nine-year-old Saiyan who had grown much destroying Saiybamen. Though she was the smallest of the remaining members of her race, her limbs were still toned with muscle, her aura still flexed with power. She kept her tail wrapped about her waist now, and she wore a Scouter with a crimson screen.
Rhuma was in her armor, the shoulder pads out to the sides, and with a blue body suit beneath. No longer did she bear the red cape she did when she was seven. After all, Lord Frieza didn't see a need for a royalty line when there were only five Saiyans left alive since the meteor destroyed their planet and everyone on it. Including King Vegeta.
Addressing her was Frieza's mid ranking soldier, Appule. He was loyal and obedient, obeying orders from both Zarbon and Frieza with immediate effect. He seems somewhat competent and intelligent. At least compared to some of the other soldiers. Rhuma opened her eyes and turned her gaze towards Appule.
"What is it?" Rhuma returned, narrowing her eyes.
Appule gulped nervously, knowing that if he offended the princess somehow, he wouldn't live to see tomorrow. He was a purple alien, with some yellow spots on his body and also has yellow spots on his large long head while he doesn't seem to possess a nose. He wears the traditional battle armor but has never been seen wearing a scouter.
"Um, you're needed on deck." Appule stated, glancing at the floor out of fear.
"For what?" Rhuma demanded.
"F-Forgive me. I wasn't given the details," Appule said, folding his hands behind his back. A Frieza soldier next to Appule spoke up.
"Just that you were needed. That's all, Princess." His tone was wary.
"Tch, fine," Rhuma muttered.
Rhuma left the lounge quarters she had been in and into the hall, heading along the curved path to the main deck. She hated being on special missions with the emperor himself. She wished she could just be with Vegeta and Nappa right now. Being anywhere near that tyrant of an emperor made her skin crawl and anger swim in her veins.
Considering the fact that he's treating her, her brother, and Nappa like slaves. But Vegeta had encouraged her to keep up the act a while longer. Just until they were strong enough, or an opportunity presented itself to overthrow the tyrant.
Upon entering the deck, Rhuma spotted Zarbon and Dodoria on either side of Frieza himself, loyal dogs as ever. Zarbon with his pale green skin, pretty face and long braided blue hair, bearing jewelry fit for a mistress. And Dodoria, a blob of pink with spikes along his hairless head and arms.
And finally Frieza. He was a small creature, sitting in a floating throne like a child playing at King. Two horns jutted from his head and a long tail lolled out the side. His sneering, purple face did nothing but infuriate Rhuma.
But she dropped to one knee anyway, bowing her head, narrowing at the ground.
"You've summoned me?" Rhuma asked, looking up.
"Indeed, Rhuma," Frieza said, smirking at her as she stood. "Vegeta and Nappa are busy heading off to emptying another planet, and I got news of something a bit interesting."
Rhuma perked a brow. "That being?"
"It's just a simple thing," Frieza drawled. "My men have reported an apparently inhabited planet on the north end of the galaxy, one with advanced technology that could be quite useful for the Frieza Force. While I could just send a small troop to claim it." Frieza smirked at her. "I thought, well, that you could take care of this for me."
It took every fiber in Rhuma's being not to growl but she bowed her head. "Of course, Lord Frieza. I'll leave at once."
"Excellent," Frieza said. "There's a pod waiting for you with the coordinates already placed."
Rhuma nodded and left the room. As soon as the door closed behind her, a surge of anger coursed through her. She began striding down the lengthy corridors.
Rhuma glared ahead, clenching her teeth. She eagerly anticipated the day when she would crush his head beneath her boot. Every action he had taken, every belittling remark that had escaped his thin lips, would be a source of deep regret for him.
She pressed a hand to her Scouter.
"Vegeta."
Her brother responded in a moment. Since the destruction of their home planet years ago, they had endured numerous hardships, resulting in only four of their people remaining. Now, they were compelled to work under a despicable creature who treated them as mere tools for his own purposes.
"Rhuma."
"I'm being sent on a mission," Rhuma said briskly, careful of her words. She knew this com channel was heard by Frieza. "It should not take me long."
She heard the sounds of destruction on Vegeta's end, and Nappa's laugh in the background. Vegeta grunted and responded. "Very well. Good hunting."
"The planet I'm scouting supposedly has advanced technology that will benefit Frieza," Rhuma replied. "Definitely will be a good hunt."
"Contact me when you return," Vegeta said, and the com cut.
Rhuma nodded thoughtfully. Vegeta had been all business ever since that day two years ago. But she could read subtle hints in his words easily. The two of them had always been able to tell what the other was thinking. The bond they shared was strong, and it was the one thing that Frieza could not take from them.
Rhuma let out a sigh and proceeded forward.
The first station erupted into a brilliant fireball that was swiftly compressed on itself. Rhuma had made the first attack, quickly arcing through space to fire another yellow blast and create another detonation above the planet's atmosphere. Easily annihilated what looked like heavily fortified bases in three swift blows. Her next attack seemed to scatter into a thousand sparks, as every single explosion was accompanied with blinding light.
The bright light suddenly faded to reveal dozens upon dozens of ships scattered throughout the desert area around the destroyed base. Some were intact while others were damaged beyond recognition. As she landed, she immediately noticed an army of six-thousand troops in front of her. They stood their ground firmly even as Rhuma approached the army slowly. These desert warriors wore armor adorned with different colors and patterns that were mostly covered by cloaks.
Rhuma chuckled with a widened grin. Her Saiyan instincts told her to fight and test their mettle. Her blood practically screamed to cut loose against the enemy. Every warrior that stood before her were genuinely shaking out of fear of her power.
"Color me disappointed," Rhuma began to speak, a smile present which made the scene of her all the more unnerving. "I expected a good fight. But you're all nothing more than common trash."
All the warriors stared in horror at her aura and the expression on her face. It was a look they've never seen before. The look of unabated lust for battle and violence. Of all the Saiyans they've seen, they all could only compare this figure to that of a monster. A true Saiyan, embodying their best and their worst attributes.
"HA!" Rhuma cried out, unleashing a bodily wide Ki that sent the armored warriors reeling. There were still thousands of them but she knew her abilities, her skills and her training. She could handle this kind of threat.
When one warrior unleashed a wide blaze of blue flames from one hand, instinctively causing Rhuma to create a barrier to mitigate it. She then proceeded to use this opening to charge towards him, slicing through the warrior's left arm with her own Ki blade. When he fell, Rhuma then grabbed him by his right arm and yanked him over. Flicking him onto his back, she then brought her blade down on his torso, severing the warrior's throat.
Another warrior raised an energy weapon and blasted her with red ki projectiles. She blocked each shot by deflecting it with her own blade. After blocking and evading the blasts, she then kicked him away. Sending said warrior flying. Right raised, aiming at the flying warrior. An emerald ball of energy built up from Rhuma's palm and launched toward the warrior's heart. It struck, sending the warrior farther to the air before the emerald ball of energy exploded into a flash of green.
She turned to face the rest of the army. Her lips widening into a devilish smirk. The enemy warriors cowered slightly at the sight of such a terrifying being, not wanting to confront such a powerful opponent.
Rhuma grinned and shot a huge yellow wave of energy.
Notes:
A/N: And that's chapter five my little shimmerings! As you all have read from this chapter, I'd like to introduce everyone to another little female Saiyan who assumes is the last female of her race: Rhuma - Vegeta's twin sister. On the day she was born alongside her brother, she was born with a power-level of 586. Yeah, she's as strong as her brother.
If you thought Vegeta's power was intimidating when he and Nappa arrived on earth, imagine how powerful Rhuma will be when she gets older. Next chapter will feature Goku and others proceeding their journey to find the dragon balls, and I'll be stating how strong he and the girls have gotten through their training. I'll be taking my leave now. Hope you all have a good day or night wherever you are.
See you all in the next chapter my little shimmerings!
