Chapter Text

I woke up to the sound of an announcement that we assume was made by the principal...wait.
"Attention everyone! This announcement indicates the start of your classes, please return to your classes"
"OH SHIT" I ran as fast as I could towards yesterday's class, I was asleep and completely forgot about it.

I arrived out of breath in front of the door and while I was trying to catch my breath Banbaleena opened the door in front of me:
"you are late" she said very nervous,
"sorry teacher" I tried to enter the classroom but she blocked my way,
"you are detention, you'll be out here for the whole lesson and then spend an hour in detention" before I could answer she closed the door on me and left me in the corridor.

"Great, that's all we needed now" I said as I sat down on the cold white floor of the corridor, although I was surrounded by doors they were all locked and if they were opened I wouldn't have entered for fear of being taken by Banbaleena and killed.
"Hello" while I thought I was alone a soft voice scared me, I turned to find myself less than a meter away Slow Seline; how had I not noticed her presence earlier?
I hugged my knees in fear thinking that, now that I was alone, she would kill me, but strangely no fatal blow came: "What is it? You were late and she let you out?" she said to me as she slowly crawled towards me, I nodded shyly and then asked "You won't kill me?",
"the principal doesn't want to and I don't want to mess with him" when she said this I calmed down a bit and looked at her, "why? is he the leader?",
"no, everyone decides for himself in this place, we don't have a leader",
"so why do you obey him?",
"I don't want to make him angry, he rarely shows up and almost everyone knows his attitudes and they know about his-"
"experiments, do you know anything?" I asked curious, if I was stuck down here at least I wanted to know more about these strange creatures that seemed to be made of Playdolls; "I was promised something painless..."

"Ok, as far as I understand you don't like talking about these expressions or rather, you only talk about them in a superficial way" I said realizing that the snail would not give me any new information:
"why does him protect you?" she asked turning her head towards me,
"he convinced me to be his guinea pig, he probably needs me for something weird",
"so why are you free? if you're a guinea pig why does he let you wander around the kindergarten alone? you could be killed effortlessly by any single creature, even Banban could do it easily" a shiver ran down my spine, Slow Seline was right, why was I free?

"Attention everyone! The students who have the detention must go to teacher Banbaleena's class to pass the next hour" the door behind me opened and I fell backwards; Banbaleena came out and looking at me he said "enter" in a dry tone.
"Thanks for talking to me a bit Seline, you're not as bad as I thought" I reached out to stroke her yellow neck, she moved away probably intimidated by my sudden gesture:
"I won't hurt you, don't worry" she seemed slightly more serene and let you caress, although it was made of a strange soft material, its skin actually looked like that of a real snail.

SKIP TIME

Banbaleena stood staring at me near the desk while i sat at the unpopular kids table, i didn't even know if i can speak or i have to keep staring at the wall for the whole hour:
"can i speak?-",
"shut up" no , it seemed I could not speak-
This very embarrassing situation went on until I started to get sleepy and fell asleep on the table.

None's Pov:

Slow Selina was right, Banban would never have let his guinea pig wander freely without the certainty that she would remain alive: in fact, he had been watching her since that morning through the surveillance cameras placed in every corridor of the kindergarten, but now that she had entered a , and mostly she wasn't alone, he couldn't watch her from the cameras, so...

"Principal, what brings you here?",
"Hello teacher, I'm just here to check" Banban took two steps forward before Banbaleena stopped him,
"no need, don't worry" Banban snapped his arm of the teacher,
"I'm the principal, I decided": Banban walked next to (Y\N) sleeping peacefully on the table, he stood behind her and checked on her neck if her heart was still beating.
"Why do you check the heart?" asked the confused female as she walked back to her desk, "she's my guinea pig, I can't afford her to die" after checking he placed his red hand on her shoulder gently.
"Weverly" he said in a serious voice, she looked at him questioningly: "yes?",
"don't pretend you don't know anything, your friend attacked her the first time he saw her",
"I don't know what you are talking about" Banban released (Y\N) and approached the white monster with furious steps,
"You and Jumbo make sure you stay still or there will be very serious consequences for both of you",
"Adam, as long as she behaves like a good human like us Jumbo and I won't do anything" right, Banban was the only one who knew he wasn't human in that cage of monsters, despite continuing to deny the truth to himself.
Banbaleena knew how to assert herself, she always tried to give her best and often believed herself superior, despite this Banban still managed to make her waver; he was only a few inches taller than her but he managed to make her feel threatened.

(Y\N)'s Pov:

I slowly opened my eyes after realizing I fell asleep, however I didn't expect to see Banban himself talking to Banbaleena: "Banban?" I asked softly yawning, he looked away from Banbaleena and turned in my direction,
"here you call me principal, I was just checking if the best teacher in the school was doing a good job with you guys" he approached me putting his arms behind the back,
"oh look, the time of punishment is over, you are free to go right teacher?" Banbaleena glared at me with contempt as I slowly stood up, pushed my chair back into place and then watched Banban walk out of the room; "I think I'll go too" I said as I said goodbye and then walked faster to follow the red guy.

Strangely however as soon as I arrived in the corridor I didn't find him, as if he had disappeared,
"he went that way, do you want a lift?" Slow Seline was behind me, I looked at her trying not to laugh,
"I may be a snail but I'm not that slow" I looked up, smiled and climbed on her back.
"So, which one of us did you meet?" she asked as she left, she was right, she wasn't as slow as I thought,
"You, Banban, Banbaleena, unfortunately Ophila and I think Jumbo Josh",
"why aren't you sure?",
"because I don't remember, I have a slight amnesia ",
"I hope for you that you don't meet him again, he's definitely the one with the most physical strength in here".

TIME SKIP

"We've been going on for 5 minutes, haven't we arrived yet?" I said as I lay down on the snail's shell,
"Banban is quick to move, it would be better if he comes to you-",
"that's what I'll do, Slow Seline you can leave her in the red room" the speakers suddenly cut off making me fall to the floor:
"Can he hear us?",
"Yes, and he can see us too" the snail answered me while I got up and went back on top of her; "You could have told me earlier, come on"

Chapter Text

Banban beckons me to sit on a chair in front of him, "I told you we'd see each other again" Banban was sitting behind a desk, he had his legs crossed and he looked at me with that smile on his face:
"you ran away before that I explain to you why you're here",
"you said it before, you have no idea why I ended up here" he suddenly stood up bringing his face close to mine,
"I could have killed you but I didn't so it's better if you listen to me" quite nervous I nodded quickly, at this gesture he smiled again.

"it's true, I should have asked your permission before operating on you, but I didn't because I didn't intend to kill you",
"but why?" I asked, he stood up and handed me a paper,
"My experiments in the past failed; many of these are mindless beasts. But now, I think I've found a positive type of Givanium, it shouldn't kill you. "And what gives me the certainty that it won't?"

"You can't have it, and I can't have it, but do you have any other choice but to trust someone who knows what they're doing?" I paused, thinking for a moment. I looked at my hands; it didn't seem to have any side effects.
"You injected me with something experimental to see how it reacted on a human body, which is apparently even more resistant than yours. So if I have a positive reaction, it will only be more so for you."
He looked at me out of the corner of his eye as he paced back and forth,
"I'm impressed, you understand quickly (Y\N)" he sat on the desk a few inches from me:
"thank you? I study medicine, I understand these things quite well" he let out a soft laugh and took another sheet in his hand, the one I had seen in the first room with him,
"Trust me, I know," he said. I looked at him confused.
"Sorry, what do you mean, do you know?" He realized what he had said.
"I know because as a scientist, I recognize my peers." He tried to sound convincing; "Okay," I said, starting to walk away.

"Excuse me, where do you think you're going?" he asked walking towards me,
"out of here?",
"did you even listen to what I was saying?",
"of course I-" I turned around and found myself face to face with him, or maybe it's better to say face to I lie as he was at least 20cm taller than me:
"there is no way out of here, so I have a request" he suddenly became serious,
"I offer you my protection below, in return you will let me analyze you",
"do you want to use me as an experiment? make me like you?",
"absolutely not, but I would like to see how the substance reacts on you" he reaches out to me,
"do we have a deal? probably every creature in here would kill you, so i think you better accept it little girl" now i had two choices: get killed by some weird monster or play along with this maniac.

"Thanks Doc but I don't think I'll need any help, I can take care of myself" I backed away as he looked at me confused,
"are you really refusing?",
"I didn't say no, but I have to think about it so bye see you later red guy" I ran quickly out of the room and then blocking me seeing a big yellow snail in the corridor, Banban tried to run after me but as soon as he noticed that I was immobilized he laughed and approached me without fear.

"Slow Seline won't attack me, I'm one of them but you, stay still or you will die" Banban spun around me as I watched the snail advance towards me: "you're funny (Y\N)" I clenched my teeth as he approached me, the snail split its eyes and ran as far as I could and then stopped again;
"Are you going to carry on like this?"
"Shut up" I said through clenched teeth.

Banban kept teasing me while I ran 3 more times until I fell, Slow Seline looked at me, I was dead:
"Last chance girl" Banban reached out his hand again to me,
"OK OK I'LL DO AS YOU SAY" he smiled like crazy before pulling after him.

"Seline stops, the human is with me" the snail looked at him confused Banban, "Principal are you sure? I don't have to kill her?",
"No, you can go back" Banban turned in my direction, put a hand on me on my shoulder and started walking next to me; "We have a lot to talk about (Y\N) and you owe me, welcome to my garten"

Chapter Text

"Sit down" we went back to the initial room and Banban made me sit on a medical bed at the back of the room, he probably had put it a while ago since it wasn't there before:
"Did you say you only have amnesia?" He asked me taking some gloves and a syringe,
"As symptoms yes, but my head was bleeding" he approached me and looked at my head,
"this was my fault, i hit you too hard i guess" he walked away to get an ice pack and put it on my head, "it should help".

"So Doctor, how do these experiments work?" I asked as he took something from a table,
"you take the genome of a living being and the givanium, they combine and the thing comes to life" he approached me with a syringe in his hand,
"but no one has ever proven that experimenting on a human, I'd like to try it on you" I shivered hearing those words as he approached me.
"Are you scared?",
"No, a creature is just approaching me with a syringe full of a strange liquid to inject into my body, I'm totally calm",
"so why-",
"genius yes obviously I'm scared and mostly I don't want to" he looked a little disappointed by my answer but sighed.

"I can't force you" he withdrew and came back,
"if you change your mind let me know, you would be the first human to try this thing" he was turning his back to me when I got off the couch and approached him:
"the first? weren't you human too?" I asked, he suddenly became silent,
"your paper says your human genome donor was a doctor, so you weren't human were you? Banban?" I placed a hand on his shoulder without receiving an answer; he walked forward in silence and opened the door to the room.

"What does this mean?" I asked as I approached him, "Go to class tomorrow and pretend none of this happened," he said in a totally emotionless tone as he looked at the floor.

I was quite confused by his behavior, even a little worried if I have to be honest: ok, his voice wasn't that much expressive, but when he told me to go away it was completely empty, his eyes were dull and his voice much flatter than usual. "Come on (Y\N), you can't waste time thinking about these stupid things, you have to find a way to get out of here fast enough" I said to myself as I walked down the main corridor of the kindergarten.

On the wall was a large drawing with all the main characters on them, some I had seen before and some I hadn't: Banban in the center with his fierce smile, next to him Banbaleena, Ophila and Jumbo Josh. the others were new to me, except for the snail that I had had the great misfortune to meet shortly before: my mind immediately returned to those moments of terror, the fear of being killed in one blow, and it would end like this if Banban hadn't stopped her; he could have let you die, i had snapped at him many times and i wasn't really nice to him, yet he still tried to get me to his side.
"Maybe he doesn't have all these brute intentions" while walking I found a small laboratory and decided to enter the small room, there was an armchair and a table full of syringes, sheets and even a microscope; in a corner there was also a barrel with GV written on it,
"here's where they keep it then, I could try to do something interesting maybe..."

None's Pov:

(Y\N) in that small room was trying to understand how that substance worked and what effects it had on bodies, she spent about 3 hours working until her body, too tired to go on, gave way and she fell asleep on the desk. Across the kindergarten was Banban, huddled in his dark room thinking, how he had never been a real human being and never would be, which he hated to hear and it sent him into a frenzy every time.

Banban's Pov:

I didn't know if the amount I'd already inserted into her while she was sleeping would actually be enough, I sincerely hoped so: I couldn't force myself on her, on anyone, yes, but on her... damn it.
"Shall we go back in peace?"
"Never, it's also your fault we're in this situation, you stupid beast. If you hadn't defended her, everything would be fine now."
"Or she would be dead." I clutched my head.
"You're tiring me out." I took a soothing liquid from several vials, put it in a syringe, and instilled it in my arm; "Let's see if you'll shut up for a while now."

None's Pov:

Information: many of the details of this story are analyzed by the game play. For example when you're at Banbaleena she said "we human have..." and in the sheet "the devil" it is written that Banban doesn't recognize himself as a monster, consequently I made sure that the situation remained as faithful as possible to the original game.

"Thank you Seline" I said as I climbed down from the shell of the yellow snail who nodded goodbye before walking away.
"Doctor? Are you there?" I found myself in a red room full of doors, one of the kindergarten characters was drawn on each door, some of these were also scattered on the ceiling.
"This is strange" as I said as I approached the doors, as soon as I approached the green one however I had an almost excruciating pain in my head, I took my head in my hands as I closed my eyes in pain, a pain so strong it almost made me fall to the ground: my head began to spin and I felt myself fall, but the contact with the cold floor never came, in fact something, or rather someone, stopped me.
"Are you ok?" I opened my eyes quite confused to find Banban's arms holding me, my back was leaning against his chest and he was looking at me from above:
"yes, yes, everything is fine" I got up immediately seeing the situation,
"new symptoms?" he said as he put his hands behind his back,
"I think so, why did you want to see me here?",
"right, I think you noticed all the doors that are in this room, well" he walked over to his door, " this is mine",
"no I don't believe it, wow incredible, I had absolutely not noticed your face above the red door; "you're not funny" he said keeping his smile with his light purple tongue hanging out of his mouth narrowing his eyes.

"Anyway, this place is probably the safest for you in the whole kindergarten-" before he could finish speaking a bell rang in the communication boxes:
"what is happening?" I asked quite scared,
"don't worry, it's normal now to open all the doors and then..." but only one opened, the green one,
"oh no, no, no, no, this is absolutely not normal" Banban said worried , we heard a very loud roar from inside the door.
"OH SHIT NO" before I could realize what was happening Banban grabbed my arm and pulled me away; the arm of the green monster went out the door:
"do you trust me?" Banban asked me,
"what?",
"do you trust me or not?",
"absolutely not why?" he snorted, went to a wall of red glass and broke it with his elbow;
"Come in, now" he shouted at me as he helped me get into the elevator.

"What was that?" I asked as I caught my breath, "Jumbo Josh. Are you okay?" he asked turning to look at me, "I'm fine-" I looked at his wounded arm, there were pieces of glass and it was covered in green liquid.
"Oh my god man are you okay?" I stood up and approached him seeing the condition of his arm, "I'm fine, don't worry" but he was absolutely not fine, it was more than clear:
"Where does the lift take us?",
"Can take us back to the beginning of the structure or go even lower",
"Well, make it stop at the beginning of the structure, you can't go around in these conditions" I said as I took his card and blocked the lift; "Are you kidding?" he said to me while holding my arm which was still bleeding, "get down, i'm super serious".

We found ourselves in an old room, it was probably a teachers' dressing room, it was full of dusty white smocks since they had been there for many years, as I walked past him an idea occurred to me. In the next room instead there was a simple relaxation room with two sofas:
"Buddy, sit here, wait for me" I said pointing to one of the two sofas, he was very confused by what I was doing but sat down without asking any more questions.
I went back to the first room and took an old gown, one small and thin enough to take some fabric from it:
"ok, you have to stay still now" I went back to the room where Banban was who in the meantime was trying to remove the splinters of red glass from his arm,
"I'll do it myself" I sat next to him, "give me your arm" I touched his hand bringing his arm towards me; he resisted trying to stop me, even though he seemed to be in pain.
"Banban stay still" he finally pulled his arm away,
"no",
"Banban" I said seriously: he had that face in the drawings, he seems to be smiling with his tongue sticking out, but at that moment he seemed scared, his mouth twisted in an expression in pain and with only a small piece of tongue sticking out.
"No" he said again in a serious tone,
"Banban please, I don't want to hurt you, you can't go around like that" this time I said it in a more gentle way, he looked at me out of the corner of his eye, scared, and said "promise" ,
"what?",
"promise you won't hurt me",
"sure, I won't" he no longer resisted and brought his arm towards me.
"Tell me if it's too painful" he nodded while I tried to get the splinters out, he turned his face to the other side trying not to moan in pain: his red skin was soft and I was able to remove the splinters very easily, I took the gown, I tore off a piece of the gown and wiped off some of the green stuff.
"is this Givanium?" I asked as I removed the last splinter,
"yes, and you have no idea how much it hurts to have it inside me" while he was talking I took the sleeve of the gown and tore it into strips:
"What are you doing now?"
"Some gauze to dress the wound."
"no need" he gave a slight smile,
"it heals in about 2 hours",
"Ban, relax" he looked me in the eyes confused,
"what did you call me?'",
"Ban, short for Banban , Do you like it?" he continued to look at me confused.
"Okay?" while he was looking at me I started putting the bandages on his arm, he kept staring at me as if he had fallen asleep with his eyes open:
"Are you finished looking at me?" I said laughing lightly even though I was quite intimidated,
"S-sorry..." He blushed green (maybe because of the givanium), "You intrigue me, you're always full of surprises, you're delicate and I..." he stopped without finishing
"ok? stand still, this will squeeze a bit" he put his hand on mine as I tightened the bandage on his arm.

"That's it, are you feeling better?" Banban looked at his bandaged arm with an incredulous look,
"I have an idea, follow me" I said as I ran to the dressing room, he got up and followed me without saying anything: "The great Banban, principal, doctor, wounded and treated by a human? I can understand it's slightly humiliating for you so" I take one of the bigger gowns, "why don't you put this on? nobody will notice your wound" without saying anything he took the white gown from my hands and put it on without saying anything, he turned to look in the mirror and then adjust the gown.
"You're look fine you know? It suits you" I approached him, he looked at me and then smiled and placed his hand on my head.
"thank you (Y\N), you're a great human being" I smiled,
"you're weird and I don't know if I can trust you 100% but, you can call me friend if you want";
"Right...a friend"

"You've been looking at yourself in that mirror for more than 10 minutes, are you going to stay there for a long time?" I said as I folded a gown to act as a pillow, Banban pretended not to listen to me and I huffed: since we had returned to the main hall he looked at himself in the mirror whenever he could, while I had brought some aprons to sleep slightly more comfortably in that place.

"Do you think others will react to seeing you dressed?" I asked him as I sat on the bed that I had finished making, "I don't know, it's strange to see me like this and above all it's strange to be so close to a human being after so long" he approached me smiling like a child:
"you're cute when you smile, you look a child" I looked at him smiling,
"thanks?" he seemed a little shaken by my compliments,
"are you embarrassed? I thought you were different" I said as I lay down,
"what do you mean?",
"You get embarrassed easily, earlier when I was treating you you blushed simply because I had given you a nickname and because I was standing up to you".
He lay down next to me, "It's the effect you have on me, sweetie." I blushed and looked at him, "Excuse me?" He chuckled and winked at me.

"(Y\N)?",
"Yes?",
"Can we find a way out of here together? Humans help each other",
"Ban you are not-" I stopped immediately remembering what was written in his paper:
"what?",
"no no sorry" too late, he lowered his head in silence looking at the floor,
"sorry I made a mistake" I said as I stood up and approached him, he got up to go away but I stopped him,
"no, I won't leave you alone friend" didn't react, he was literally blank as he continued to keep his gaze down.

"Stand still" he said to me as I tried to get close to him,
"banban I-",
"DON'T CALL ME BANBAN" I instantly walked away, I felt the same fear as the first time I approached him.

Banban's Pov:

"DON'T EVEN TOUCH HER,"
"Freedom~"

(Y/N)'s Pov:

"I'm not Banban, don't you dare call me that" he glared at me furiously as he stomped towards me, "shit shit shit, either i do something or i risk dying here" i thought as i got stuck against a wall; yes he finally got to me and trapped me under his taller figure than me.

"Ok ok sorry, I won't call you that anymore, okay doctor?" I asked while I covered my face with my arms, he stopped: "call me that",
"doctor?",
"yes" his eyes were filled with a frightening homicidal instinct that made you tremble just looking into his eyes.

Suddenly though he seemed to come out of that trans state he had entered, he blinked in confusion and walked away from me, "fuck,it happened again right?" he stammered, I nodded silently.
"I'm sorry..I don't control it" he broke down on the verge of...crying? could these creatures cry?
"B- I mean, doctor?" he looked at me with teary eyes before sitting on the bed that I had improvised before: "hey, friend don't worry" I sat next to him and put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm here, breathe" suddenly he hugged me; I was petrified by that gesture but reciprocated.

That monster was literally crying on my shoulder and I wasn't doing anything to stop him, on the contrary I wanted to console him:
"Doctor, I'm here don't worry and relax" I squeezed him to me while he did the same;
"Please (Y/N), never leave me alone again..."

I slowly opened my eyes, I yawned and tried to get up but I was blocked: I was confused but later I realized that Banban was sleeping behind me while you hugged me. I instantly blushed as I tried to detach myself from the red monster, but it was all in vain, he was too strong to be able to get away from him so I gave up and turned to face him: he was sleeping peacefully like a baby, he was adorable, I saw his chest move with her breath...wait did I really find that adorable?
"Attention everyone! This announcement indicates the start of your classes, please return to your classes" not fucking again,
"hey, get up" I said as I tried to get away from him, Banban moaned and opened his eyes:
"Hello redhead, we're late" he was trying to figure out how he ended up in that position with me,
"I don't know either but now there's no time to waste" this time I managed to get up, straightened my clothes and ran out.

"Still late? Two consecutive times, today no punishment for you, you will follow the lesson and then you will go to the principal" Banbaleena told me angry as I entered the class, I huffed as I sat in my seat to follow the lesson: unfortunately Banbaleena scolded me more times during class because I was distracted and lost in thought, how I had spent the day with the principal, helped him and literally slept with him (meaning sleep, no sex, stop being so horny) things were getting weird...

TIME SKIP

"Attention everyone! This announcement indicates the end of your classes" I got up quickly from my chair and tried to walk away before Banbaleena saw me, too late:
"where do you think you're going?"
"Away from here?" I said nervously,
"Absolutely not miss, go straight to the principal's office" she stood next to me and started pushing me towards the exit door.
"I don't except this behavior in this kindergarten miss" banbaleena told me as we walked, I rolled my eyes,
"this place isn't even yours, why do you worry?" she seemed to get even angrier,
"how dare you talk to a teacher like that?" she gave me a push causing me to slam into the door of Banban's office; as if things couldn't go wrong already the door behind me opened causing me to fall flat on my face.

"Principal, you absolutely must do something about this girl's behavior, she keeps being late for my lessons, she is rude and absolutely not interested in learning" Banbaleena said while I was trying to get up, looking up I saw Banban looking at me and he gave me a hand to get up:
"come on teacher, she's just a girl",
"a bad girl, you have to do something" Banban too seemed annoyed by the behavior of the white one,
"okay, then you'll see that thanks to me this girl will have what he deserves it," he said as he put his arm around my shoulder and looked at me out of the corner of his eye; a shiver ran down my spine, I really hoped he was joking.

Banbaleena, as soon as she sanctified those words, decided to leave the room leaving me and Banban alone, "Has she finished complaining or should she go on like this for an hour?" I said jokingly as I watched the principal turn in my direction, he rolled his eyes, "ignore her, now we have other things to do, we have to go down",
"go down where?",
"lower down. There's something down there that many are looking for, don't you know about the children who have disappeared here?" Banban said seriously,
"truly I don't know, I remind you that I still have amnesia",
"that's right, anyway some time ago, after an accident some children disappeared, they were never found".
"How do we get there down?" I asked as I got up and walked over to him,
"you know the room where Jumbo Josh attacked us?",
"yes",
"well, it's the one, but unfortunately we can't go there together, we should take two different elevators and then meet again downstairs understood?" Banban said to me getting up and approaching me placing a red hand on my shoulder; "are you sure you want to do this (Y\N)? I don't force you to go down there, you're still my guinea pig so I don't want you to get hurt in any stupid way",
"don't worry Doc, I'll be fine, I'm a strong woman" I smiled I proudly while Banban gave a light laugh.

TIME SKIP

Banban was still in his office while I was back in the main studio, seeing as I'd be downstairs in a few hours why not explore a bit where I hadn't gone? So scratching around the desks I found a door which, when I entered I noticed a large writing on the wall: "The spider is real" ok this is definitely strange, I said to myself as I walked along the corridor until I reached a large room, perhaps an old warehouse or something similar.
"Is anyone there? hey?" I said aloud as I walked among the big dusty shelves, as I walked I stopped noticing the big arrows on the floor; "And these?" I was about to bend down but felt a drop fall on my head.
I raised my head towards the ceiling and was immediately frightened by seeing a big blue spider staring at me with its long tongue sticking out of its mouth: "NO NO NO NO NO" I started running quickly towards the door I had entered through as he started to " run" over me; luckily he managed to escape at just the right moment before I muffled a loud noise behind me;
"(Y\N)? Are you there? See you in the red room" banban's voice rang in the speakers.

TIME SKIP

"hey, are you there?" I said walking into that big room, suddenly the elevator we used last time,
"I'm here dear, so go down the Opila corridor, all the way down and take that elevator",
"okay but why can't I just to come with you?" I asked leaning my hand against the glass, he leaned his and sighing said "I can't let them take me".
Suddenly the alarm went off and Ophila's door opened as Banban's elevator descended,
"what's going on?" I said as they walked away from the glass scared, "you were a bad student" Banbaleena's voice came out of her door, "SHIT" I yelled starting to run down the Ophila corridor,
"BANBAN YOU DIRTY TRAITOR I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME" I yelled as I ran, a green fist blocked my way and I had to stop until the monster, who I guessed was Jumbo, took his hand away.
"I Swear that as soon as I meet you again I won't let you get away with it" I kept running with Banbaleena behind me, finally I saw the elevator in front of me, "finally" I said running faster and faster, I hid behind a column to open the door on the ceiling hoping it would be useful and luckily as soon as Banbaleena passed underneath she was crushed by her mate's big green fist. "IT'S GOOD YOU ASSHOLE, IT'S...good" I sat dead tired while I put my head in my hands, "Thanks Ban, I thought I could at least trust you": Banbaleena left a card on the floor which I took to open the door where the elevator used to be; "let's hope for the best" I said as I climbed onto the platform and turned it on...

"And this? Where am I?" I said as I got off the elevator, that thing had been going down for about 10 minutes, I thought Banban directly sent me to hell:
the room was very large, with a large tree in the center and the walls also painted here.

"She's new," I said as I approached the purple kangaroo drawing on the wall before the familiar sound of the speaker was heard:
"Are you alive?" that neutral voice, the same one that shortly before had sent me face to death without thinking twice.
As angry as I was (and aware he couldn't hear me) I tried to control myself as he spoke to me,
"YOU SON OF A BITCH ALMOST KILLED ME"...okay I didn't keep my cool.
"Sorry again for hitting you and making you go that way" he said again as I walked around the room,
"sure man, I'm completely convinced",
"ok (Y\N), I know you're mad but you know I hear you and I see you with the cameras?" I suddenly turned towards a door seeing two cameras pointing at me,
"oh shit, sorry" I said nervously scratching my head and walking over to the cameras.
"Where are you anyway? Weren't we supposed to meet down here?" I said, the speakers fell silent for a few seconds,
"for safety it's better if we don't meet for now, I can get...violent" I looked at the cameras confused: "ban, what do you mean?",
"I can't explain it to you because I don't know either, it just happens, so for your safety it's better if I stay away",
"but-"
"don't oppose me dear, now go, there's someone there who knows how to get you out of here" having said that banban turned off the speakers leaving me alone in that big room,
"but I...Fuck, focus (Y\N)" I put my hands on my face forcing myself and walked over to my drone.

After arguing for 5 minutes I realized that my remote control had flat batteries, so I spent another 5 minutes looking for working batteries all over the room:
"ok, let's try now" clicking the button finally the drone moved,
"for you need a key to access the lift, you can find it in the dining room",
"thanks ban" I walked towards the dining room: as soon as I entered I found the pink key on the table, I took it but before leaving I stopped to look at the drawings on the floor.
Nabnab, Slow Seline, Jumbo and..."Doc?" I called him,
"Yes dear?",
"Since when can you play the ukulele and do you have a tail?" I asked curious smiling at the drawing, "children are creative, please leave it alone" I laughed,
"okay, you're the principal".

"Now let's go" I walked over to the big blue elevator at the end of the room.
"Another thing" Banban's voice made me jump with fear,
"don't fall off the elevator, believe me you don't want to know what's down there",
"thanks? Maybe I wanted to know before that's okay" I got on the elevator activating it towards a random direction hoping it was the right one; the big elevator started moving and I sat on the floor waiting for the ride to end.
I put my head in my hands, I was really exhausted and all I wanted was to leave but at the same time I felt something pushing me to stay, as if something wanted me there, something or...someone: "oh Banban, why you're so...so...but what the hell is wrong with me?" I asked myself hiding my face between my knees, I would never have admitted it but I really hoped to meet that red devil again once I got down here.
Finally the lift stopped in front of a large room, I got off and approached entering quite quickly: the room was large, with three large doors with different characters, the jellyfish, the frog and nabnab; "I really hope I never see that spider again" I said walking away from his door and approaching the orange one with the jellyfish.

"Banban was talking about him?",
"exactly" Banban's voice came out scaring me again,
"man seriously stop doing that please" when I said so I heard a light laugh from the other end before the speakers went silent again;
"Oh well, better go ahead" I said as I took the key and opened the door...

Chapter Text

(I will cut and edit some parts of the game, to make the story more interesting {and honestly to take away the parts I hated of this chapter} However the ending will be similar, if not the same, as the game, so the plot remains the same)

The door opened towards many stairs, I began to go down them slowly in the dark, without knowing exactly where I was going.
As soon as I arrived at the base, the lights turned on, revealing the large jellyfish in the middle of the room: I took a step back seeing the gigantic creature that seemed to be sleeping.
I went down the stairs and approached him, I was also afraid to touch him but he seemed to be still and he didn't mind being touched; those big tentacles were hard enough not to touch, especially if you walked close to the wall.

Once past the jellyfish I realized that yes, he was sleeping, and luckily I also found a way to wake him up quickly enough: I clicked a button that emitted a sound that made him wake up instantly, his big eye opened and he stared at me while I I leaned against the wall behind me.

"Why are you here?" the jellyfish asked in a deep voice
"Ba-Banban sends me" I stammered intimidated by his presence,
"I don't mean that, I mean why are you down here? Looking through your memories, I find nothing that explains why such a young girl came down to this old place."
"ah right" I sighed "I don't have those memories, they just disappeared from my mind, like they never existed"
"Adam..." the jellyfish said in a low voice, as if he didn't want me to hear it; however that name had something familiar, as if I had already heard it somewhere...

"Girl take my advice, leave this place",
"Why?" he looked at me confused,
"Don't you want to leave?"
"yes I want but.." I said trying to sound convincing,
"I want but...I don't know" I resigned myself,
"Let me show you something" he brought a long tentacle towards me and I slowly blacked out and everything went black.

I woke up on...a beach? I sat down looking around before noticing the jellyfish next to me which immediately started talking:
"banban explained to you about how children disappeared right? Well, it's half the truth, some of them died in the accident."
"what accident?" I asked sitting down next to him and looking at him, he looked at me out of the corner of his eye and then said softly "that devil could have told you something intelligent instead of sending you in the face of death though",
"yes, I think that too, but I've had enough time to understand how he thinks, even if it's quite strange" I said with a small smile.

He kept looking at me as if there was something wrong with me,
"are you (Y\N)?" he asked,
"yeah, that's my name, how do you know? Did you read it from my mind?" I asked quite confused,
"no, unfortunately for you no, I didn't expect to meet you in my life, he talked a lot about you before; he was probably talking about Banban, I didn't know other people down there, right?

"Anyway, I need the children to escape from here, to finally reach my habbitat, you understand?" I nodded as he continued talking,
"go away girl, once this dream is over I can make you wake up straight out of here, just ask" he looked at me,
"No, I can't, I still have to-"
"Do you want to see him again?" said that him in a serious way, as if he wanted to make it clear who he was talking about.
"no, I can't go away now, take me to Banban" I said standing up, he put a tentacle on my shoulder, "okay, but don't say I didn't warn you" having said that, everything went black again...

Chapter Text

I started waking up slowly, "has making me faint become a sport? First alone, then with Banban, now with that jellyfish, who's next?" I said while rubbing my head,
"if you want I can do the second round" the neutral voice, I immediately opened my eyes to find myself face to face with...:

"DOCTOR" I jumped into his arms while he placed a hand on my head caressing me,
"hey guinea pig, I'm happy to see you too" I looked at him smiling,
"are you okay? Why couldn't we see each other?" I asked worried,
"don't worry dear, it's ok now, but we still have to find a way out of here" he got up and walked away from me,
"do you know where the kids are?" he asked,
"yes, that jellyfish has them",
"damn stinger flynn, so he really has something to do with it" he took a group of papers and then gave them to me,
"that thing is hard to put down, here's all the information we need they can help" I took the papers as he went to the window; the room was large, but almost completely empty, there was only a bed, a device for communicating with the cameras and a window.

"Ban, are you sure you're okay?" I asked getting up to approach him but my legs were still too weak so I fell forward, I would have crashed into the floor if Banban hadn't caught me: "Are you okay?" he said as he looked at me, his arms were under mine and our faces were close, I immediately moved away from that situation,
"yes I'm fine don't worry" I dusted off my clothes and stood next to him.
"what did you mean when you said you get aggressive?" I asked,
"I don't know why, but sometimes I transform and I can't control myself" he turned to look at me and took off one of his party hats, revealing a big red horn: "it's started, that's why I didn't want to see you" I watched worried as he put his hat back on, "but nothing we have to worry about now, what we have to do is-" I grabbed his cheeks, pulled my face down and forced him to look at me, "we'll take care of this, that like it or not".
His big black eyes stared at me, his mouth half closed, his tongue slightly out of his mouth, all of which gave me a strange feeling of deja vu, as if it had already happened...

Banban freed himself from my grip and looking at me he said "o-ok, later we will take care of this love",
"what did you call me?" I looked at him in surprise blushing,
"(Y\N), (Y\N), (Y\N), (Y\N) I MEANED (Y\N)".

None's POV:

The two continued to talk without knowing that there was someone listening to them, someone who knew why things were going this way, someone who knew what relationship the two of them had had: an old relationship, which dated back many years before, but both of which they had forgotten and probably would not have believed it if they had known the reality...

(Y\N)'s pov:

"I'm still mad at you" I said as I sat on his bed, "of course not" he laughed softly as he sat next to me,
"anyway (Y\N), I missed you",
"aaaawww how sweet" I said as I lay down on the bed, "what's up? are you sleepy?",
"Yes, a little, do you mind if I sleep a little?" I said,
"Go ahead" he got out of bed to give me more space, while I closed my eyes and fell asleep...

Two figures, a man and a woman, standing side by side, and in the distance another woman who looks at them, as if she were waiting for something or someone...

I woke up sweating, I tried to get up but I was stuck, I turned around to find myself face to face with Banban asleep: ok, the first time was strange but thanks to that experience at least now I wasn't scared. "Aaww Ban" I placed a hand on his cheek while he continued to sleep:
"you know" I started talking even though I knew he couldn't hear me, "you're not as bad as I thought, you're smart, sweet, even if you're very stubborn " I smiled and rolled my eyes, "who knows what my life will be like if I ever get out of here, go back to study, maybe look for someone to spend my life with but" I looked at his closed eyes, "I wouldn't mind staying here with you, doctor" he tightened his grip on me as if he understood what I was saying;
"I'm here mate" I laughed seeing his reaction, "no need to be so clingy doctor...devil".

(i know it's not canon but this thing seemed nice to me so i'll put it in the story) A long red tail landed on my leg, I froze in fear remembering what Banban had said about "not being able to control himself" just before.
I slowly tried to get out of bed and out of the room as fast as possible, everything seemed fine at first, until I realized that this transformation was advancing too fast; I managed to stand up and started walking away from him, as I turned around I heard a louder sound and a loud jerking sound.

"Where do you think you're going" a deeper voice than the one I was used to hearing, I quickly tried to run away but was pulled from behind and then slammed against the wall: a tall, muscular being, big cold eyes, long tongue , pointed teeth, large horns and a tail that swung behind the figure; that was no longer the Banban I knew, that was really Case 6: the devil.

"Ban please I-" he lifted my chin with a finger forcing him to look into my eyes,
"don't worry girl, I won't hurt you" he ran his hand through my hair,
"it'll be fun." The creature lunged at me, I jumped to the side to avoid him, took the keycard and immediately opened the door,
"NOT SO FAST" he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him: I found myself under his chest, he placed a hand on my side squeezing so hard it hurt, "LEAVE ME ALONE" I kneed them and ran quickly towards the door which closed just in time.
the monster stayed inside slamming his fists against the glass so hard I could see the givanium coming out of his wounds, "you won't get away from me that easily" I watched what was before Banban literally drool as he breathed like a hungry beast; "Banban, I'll do everything I can to make you better" the beast slapped his stings so hard that the light in the room went out and I ran away

Chapter Text

I kept running until Banban's screams became just a distant echo. The floor still vibrated slightly beneath me; eventually, the ground became smoother, colder. Silence fell all around. I let myself fall to the ground, exhausted, and hugged my knees with my arms. Tears began to fall slowly, warm and inevitable. And now? I thought. I'm alone. Completely alone. I have no one left.
The images of Banban in that hellish form returned to my mind. His white, empty eyes, the distorted voice, his inhuman screams... that wasn't him. It couldn't be. It was something else, something monstrous. And I had run away. I had left him behind.

"I told you so," said a deep voice behind me.
Stinger Flynn was there, with his usual inscrutable expression; I didn't even look up at him, I was still quite angry with him.
"That was Hellish Banban. In that form, he's completely out of control. If you want to survive, don't go near him ever again. He has no mercy for anyone or anything."
"Leave me alone," I murmured, turning to the other side. I didn't want to talk. I didn't want to listen.
"Come on, he told you too. He warned you, didn't he?"
"Is there a way to bring him back to normal?" I asked, my voice cracked.
Stinger stayed silent for a few seconds. "No, you just have to wait until he calms down. It could take a few hours, a day, weeks-it all depends on him."
"So he won't stay like that forever."
"No."
I stood up abruptly. "Perfect, then I'll bring him back to himself."
"Alone? Girl, that monster doesn't spare anyone. Why would he listen to you? Plus, you want to do this on your own?" he added seriously.
I turned to look at him, my eyes full of anger and determination. We stared at each other for a few seconds. Then I spoke, firmly: "Help me."
"You're really irritating, you know? First, you ignore all my advice, and now you come asking for help like nothing happened. But fine... if that's what you want, let me do it."
He brought his tentacle closer, barely touching me. Everything went dark. Once again.

I woke up with my head pounding. I was lying on something soft, maybe a seat. I didn't immediately understand where I was.
"You finally woke up," said a familiar voice.
I opened my eyes suddenly. "BANBAN! YOU'RE OK!" I shouted, throwing myself around his neck in a tight hug.
"Hey, calm down (Y/N), of course I'm okay! Why are you looking at me like that?" he said, confused but smiling.
"Can you two be quiet back there? I'm trying to drive," grumbled Stinger Flynn from the front seat.
Only then did I realize we were in a car. Me, Banban, Opila... and Stinger Flynn at the wheel. (Yeah, I removed the Captain, he was kind of useless, sorry to his fans.)

"So, Stinger, are we there yet?" asked Banban in an irritated tone.
"No," Stinger replied bluntly.
"At least put on some music, huh? Makes this trip feel less boring. Right, Opila?" said Banban with a little smirk.
Opila squeaked happily in response. Soon, an energetic song started to fill the car. The rhythm gave me a bit of relief, even though the tightness in my chest hadn't gone away.
"That's what I'm talking about!" exclaimed Banban, stretching one arm behind me and pulling me towards him, resting it on my shoulder.
"You two in the back done being lovebirds?" snapped Stinger Flynn, increasingly irritated.
I blushed immediately. "We're not a couple!" I protested.
"Oh no? So when did you break up?" Flynn asked, genuinely confused.
Banban turned to me with a softer smile. "Maybe we could be one again, don't you think, sweetheart? Just the two of us again, against all these tough faces in this damn place," he whispered, lifting my chin with one hand.
"If you don't stop, I swear I'll-" Stinger Flynn started, but didn't have time to finish his sentence.

A deafening crash. A sharp jolt. The car lurched, glass shattered. Everything went black.
I woke up with a gasp, panting. My body trembled, my mind confused. I looked around. I was in a long, narrow room with light-colored walls. On one wall, there was a blue drawing-it looked like Opila, but it wasn't her.
"Tarta Bird?" I whispered. "Ok, maybe I'll call you Tarta Opila... or Blue Opila," I added, trying to calm myself.
I slowly got up, stretching my legs and rubbing my neck. "New road... new task, I guess," I muttered, starting to walk down the corridor.
After a few minutes, I came across a strange robot. It was big, gray, with lifeless eyes. On the wall next to it was written "Kabob?".
I observed it carefully, comparing it with a drawing nearby. I immediately noticed it was missing the little caps on its "horns".
"Hmm... something's missing. But I can get in here."
I used the keycard to open a door... and found another door. Then another. And another.
I sighed, resting my forehead against the cold wall. "Ok. This will take a while."

Chapter Text

The mutant tortoise-chameleon fell off his platform while I could still see the smoke from the last firework, "YEAH, FUCK YOU ASSHOLE" I jumped off the wooden platform where I had climbed to play the monster; a wooden plank fell making me get to the other side.
Arrived on the platform where the monster was before, I approached the bars that are there, while I touched them I crushed something with my foot, Banban's party hats:
"what... what are these doing here?" I picked them up, these were his without a doubt, "I have a horrible feeling and I hope you don't have anything to do with Ban" I ran my finger over the paper hair before putting it on my head and walking back.

TIME SKIP

"I swear, if I find out who has put so many doors to open, they'll deal with me" finally arrived at the last one I approached the Kabob and placed the hats on his head,
"for now I'll lend them to you friend, but later I'll take them back , what do you say?" I pushed him,
"hand over your pancreas" said the robot walking forward, "should you imitate Banban?" I burst out laughing before climbing onto the robot which started moving forward imitating Banban.
I entered a large room with an Opila chick in the centre, "aaaaww hello baby" I approached the chick and luckily I noticed the "father" of the chick above him,
"no no no I'm not going there" I pushed kabob towards the chick who got scared and ran towards me:
"it was simpler than expected" I took the chick in my arms, suddenly a door opened and Tarta Bird came down from the top and started running towards me; "ok bird, let's see who's boss".
Without thinking twice I ran up the flight of stairs and then jumped on Tarta bird's back, grabbing onto his neck to keep him still:
"good bird, and now let's go, but first" I approached the Kabob and took Banban's party hats , "these are mine now"; (if Banban had seen this he would have been like "THAT'S MY HUMAN, GO LIKE THIS WOMAN") I entered the door that had opened...

Opila was also waiting for us and as soon as she saw me with her son she looked at me slightly worried, "don't worry, here's you" I took the chick and placed it on her back, she looked at her chick and then looked at me and let out a scream of.. .joy?
"You're welcome? I think" I said, an orange tentacle attached itself to the railing before approaching and finding me face to face with the jellyfish:
"what do you want?" I said looking at the monster,
"nobody had ever ridden an Opila, this is new" he said seriously,
"anyway now it's too late, you rejected my proposal to leave so now you will stay here",
"and how do you plan to stop me from leaving? Not I need you to go away",
"You're wrong, you need me, it's him you don't need" he raised a tentacle holding...Banban; he was in his normal form, without the party hair which I obviously had on my head at the time, he looked unconscious, Stinger Flynn had definitely done something to him.

"BAN" I yelled, "LET HIM GO",
"I've been watching you since you came in here, everything went too well, so finally I realized that someone was helping you" he looked at Banban,
"your friend here wanted to that I get to him, he wanted to help the children, even if he covered his true intentions with this excuse",
"What do you mean?" I asked looking angry at the jellyfish,
"You didn't really think he cared about you right? Do you remember when he made you pass out the first time? He already wanted to eat your pancreas but unfortunately a small detail stopped him, an old deja vu" he dropped Banban; "You lie, he doesn't want to hurt me, you're the only monster" I said clenching my fists.

Stinger flynn approached a tentacle to me touching my hair, "Unthman had good taste, you're as stubborn and intelligent as him, I'm not surprised that Banban recognized you" I walked away from him,
"Stop talking",
"Why? Your memories since you got here are blurred, but not only those memories, even the ones from before" My head began to spin as I listened to Stinger's words:

"Why do you study medicine (Y/N)? None of your family did and you had no real reason to start, but you did, and you can't remember why, I know. Unthman promises to help you and include you in the project, you gave everything for him, and what did he do?" Suddenly memories in my hospital accident came back to me,
"....fire..." I said softly,
"that's right, that fire, he is the cause, you were in the middle of their plans and Unthman had to eliminate you. What a shame though.. .Adam never meant to hurt you, after all...you were his girlfriend."

Chapter Text

A strong metallic thud brought me back to reality, the tampered Banban looked at me foaming at the mouth, "eat her" Stinger ordered, I immediately turned Tarta Bird who started to run: while I was running away from the monster my mind went back, it hurt but I remembered individual moments, nothing complete, that's why Banban and I had been in tune from the beginning; his genome donor was not just a human, but the director of that project, my mentor, my boyfriend, Adam Uthman.

After the run I found myself in a large room, Tarta Bird tripped and made me fall, but because of this Banban took a short time to reach me:
"no matter how much you run away" he swooped down on me blocking my hands against the cold floor,
"the smell of your pancreas will always lead me to you" a drop of saliva fell on my face:
"Ban please listen to me, this isn't you" I got no response,
"It's me, (Y/N), your guinea pig, don't you recognize me?" I saw his eyes narrow and then shake his head and tighten my wrists more and more; "Doc please" I began to cry in pain as I felt the beast breathe over me and approach my body slowly.

"No..." a light whisper came out of Banban's mouth and he loosened his grip, I seized the moment to push him away, "you remember" I said as he looked at me, my wrists were bleeding, tears wet my cheeks; suddenly the sound of heavy footsteps was heard from behind Banban, I backed away as the tampered Banban looked over his shoulder.
"I..." another whisper from Banban, "I'm...not...in control of me...go away" he slowly approached me, gave me a piece of his now almost totally destroyed lab coat, "but Ban I can't-" before I could say anything he picked me up and left me on the stairs not far from there.
I walked up the ramp to see Jumbo Josh come out of the darkness, "DOCTOR" I yelled from above, he turned to look at me, "LET THEM SEE WHO'S THE PRINCIPAL OF THIS PLACE BIG BOY" Banban grinned his big teeth and waved at me with the head before jumping on Jumbo; as they fought Stinger Flynn's shadow appeared behind them stopping their fight.
"STOP YOU TWO" he said annoyed, "and you" he added looking at me, "run as much as you want but now that you know the truth you won't go far (Y/N)" I gave him a glare before hearing the door open behind me":
"See you Stinger, we're not over yet" I looked at Banban and whispered so he couldn't hear me, "I swear we'll be together again Ban, should it happen to my life" and walked in the door behind me.

The door slowly closed behind me, I took the cloth that Banban had given me and bandaged my injured wrists: the chick approached me, touched my leg and went up in the elevator; "Are you coming with me? It's okay little one" before going up, I took a piece of paper on the floor and started the lift.

Banban Pov's;

She is...(Y/N)...she...protect her...

But first...

"Dr. Unthman?" The doctor turned around hearing the female voice behind him,
"Hey (Y/N)", "what are you doing?" The young girl approached her mentor holding a folder tightly to her chest:
"I think this is the best so far" the doctor pointed behind glass,
"So he's Case 6, is it true that he speaks?",
"Of course, he has my genome, he had to be intelligent," the doctor said proudly; "Sure, right" the girl gave a light laugh.

On the other side of the glass sat a red creature sleeping, with two large horns covered by party hats: Banban was called in the laboratory, although he repeatedly referred to his real name, Adam Unthman, unaware that in reality he was only one experiment among many, a game in the hand of a man who was going too far.

"Anyway, I have a test tomorrow, can I take the day off?" The girl asked looking back at Unthman,
"it's fine, as long as you start studying better the Givanium samples I got you" said the doctor stroking (Y/N)'s hair,
"thanks Unthman" the girl smiled, "Again? I told you (Y/N), you can call me Adam" he took the girl in his arms and kissed her as she smiled.

"Doctor?" Another female voice was heard from the end of the corridor,
"right teacher, I'll be right there" Adam let go (Y/N) and then approached the woman who looked at him very annoyed by the situation in which he had found the two;
"(Y/N) you are free to go, see you tomorrow love" the girl nodded and walked towards the exit.
Walking through the long white corridors she greeted the staff members she met, arrived in front of a glass she stopped and looked inside the creature that she had just looked at with her boyfriend.

She read the sign by the window, "Banban: the devil, what a bad nickname" she said as she squatted by the glass looking at the being: almost as if she felt his presence, Banban started to wake up and looked in the direction of the girl who was enchanted watching this wonder created by the doctor, the devil stood up and started walking slowly towards the glass; she didn't run away, but she stood up and put a hand on the glass.
"Hey hi, good morning sleepy head" she laughed as the creature finished approaching and stopped on the other side of the glass,
"I'm (Y/N), what's your name?" The creature looked at the girl like a bewildered puppy looks at a parent,
"I...am Adam" Banban said placing his red hand on that of the girl on the other side of the glass, "that's what Unthman meant before, but you are adorable" Banban cocked his head to the side looking confused,
"(Y /N)" he said,
"Yes, that's my name, how good you are" hearing those words the creature gave a slight smile.
"You're...familiar",
"next time I see Adam I tell him not to sedate you though, you can barely talk, anyway I can say we know each other" (Y\N) smiled at the monster who was finally having a real conversation with someone since he got there :
"I'm Adam Uthman's girlfriend, next year I should become a permanent doctor here" said the girl,
"my girlfriend?",
"no but...you know what? why not, yes I'm also your girlfriend if you want" she smiled, for her it was like talking to a more childish version of the man she loved so much; yet she had no control over what happened next...

The first contact between those two happened a few days later, but not in the way (Y/N) would have liked...

"HE ATTACKED YOU! HOW CAN THIS BE OK, ADAM?!"
"(Y/N) calm down, I had considered this option, but I can solve this problem" the girl approached her doctor, took him by the cheeks and brought him up to look at her:

"we'll take care of this, that like it or not".
His eyes stared at her, his mouth half closed...
Adam freed himself from her grip and looking at her he said "o-ok, later we will take care of this love",
"I hope so"

(Y/N)'s Pov:

"No, for the last time, I don't know this figure, can I go out now?" I asked as I clicked the button on the table for the 20th time,
"alright, take your things and go out",
"finally" I got up from my chair and retrieved the remote control of my drone.
The lights suddenly turned on revealing a brown figure looking at me from a window, a little hesitant I left the room and joined the creature:
"You worked here, I remember you, how are you (Y/N)?" the creature asked me smiling and holding out his hand, "what? do we know each other?" he withdrew his hand,
"don't you remember me? come on (Y/N) we met just before Uthman took you out of the way, you passed by me".
"Right Uthman...I swear as soon as I see him again I will-",
"he's already dead, are you sure you're okay?" he put a hand on my shoulder; my breathing got heavier.
"excuse me, I have amnesia and I remember very little, what's your name?",
"You can call me Sheriff, come on I'll take you to the Queen, maybe she can do something for you".

Me, the sheriff and the little bird walked through the "kingdom" while i looked around and tried to bring back memories: Adam Uthman, the mastermind behind this whole thing was my ex, he tried to kill me and now i had a bond of friendship with the creature to which he donated his genome and he probably has information, memories and attitudes similar to the real Uthman...all normal.

"Queen, we have a new inhabitant in the kingdom" the sheriff addressed a big purple kangaroo with a crown sitting on a big throne (what a bad description holy god-),
"is she hostile?" the queen asked,
"no, she worked here years ago, it's ok" the queen looked at me and gave a slight smile, "welcome to the kingdom, I hope you enjoy yourself here" I smiled too,
"thanks your highness".
"you arrived here with an elevator I heard, unfortunately it is damaged but in this floor you will find everything you need to repair it. Sheriff, why don't you help her?",
"of course my queen, (Y/N) and chick, follow me as well".

TIME SKIP

The 3 of us thanks to a train, driven by Kabob, arrived in a small room,
"(Y\N) can you open that door?",
"yes sure" I aimed the drone with the button that immediately opened the door,
"come on let's go in" I said entering the room first: but suddenly the door closed behind me, "what? no (Y/N) wait" the door closed before the sheriff could enter.
"SHERIFF" I was locked there alone in the dark until I heard a voice in front of me,
"hello, I'm a hungry snake, do you have any food?" a purple arm was in the center of the room, I tentatively approached it but before I could touch it it pulled back, revealing a tall creature split in two that started running towards me.

"WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO RUN?! SHERIFF PLEASE OPEN" I started banging my fists against the door which fortunately opened in time:
"Hands off" the sheriff hit him with a lasso and the creature instantly backed away, "that it's the Jester, AKA Bittergiggle",
"first: what a shitty name, second:what did he want?" I asked as I hid behind the sheriff,
"he's banished from the kingdom, he's my sworn enemy" only now that I was standing behind him did I notice the large scar he had on the back of his back; he was taller than me but definitely shorter than Banban but more muscular than him, well at least in his normal form.
"Let's go find the part and go back to the elevator, it shouldn't be too far," the sheriff said as the door closed on us.

SKIP TIME

"Go ahead, I'm pretty good at these things" the sheriff told me as I handed him the gear to repair the lift, I sat next to him and sighed:

"How long have you been here partner?" he asked me as he got to work,
"I don't know, I've lost count, maybe a month or so, it all depends on how long Banban had made me pass out", "what do you mean?",
"banban knocked me out as soon as i got there, i think some of my amnesia is his fault" i said looking at the ceiling, "now i wonder where he is".
"Well, the queen said that one of your friends arrived a little while ago, but now he's in the infirmary because he was injured" said the sheriff adjusting his hat and wiping the sweat from his forehead;
"Are you saying it could be him? I have to go! Thanks for the info, I owe you!"

I ran as fast as I could towards the infirmary which this time was open, as soon as I arrived in the long corridor I looked into the second room, I leaned against the glass seeing that familiar red figure sitting on that hospital bed with his back to me: I opened the door quickly, "BANBAN" he turned his head slightly but, before he could say anything to me, I jumped between his arm.

"(Y/N) everything ok-?"
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD" he instinctively placed his hands on my back hugging me. at that moment the world was silent, it was just me and that monster, in each other's arms, while i held back the tears, a girl hugging an old experiment of her ex.

"Hey I'm fine, I don't die that easily little girl" he put a hand on my shoulder, I looked into those big black eyes but, suddenly, you had a flashnack of a man smiling at me and I walked away:
"(Y/N) are you ok? Is something wrong?" I held my head in my hands and whispered "Uthman",
"yes?" Banban answered as if I had called him, indeed I had.
"Uthman Adam?" I asked,
"yes? that's my name"
"Adam?",
"yes I am",
"doctor?",
"yes always me, are you finished?" he looked up bored,
"You have his conscience, his memories, you are..." I said as a series of thoughts bombarded my mind: "yes (Y/N), for the thousandth time, Uthman Adam, hello, department head, doctor , scientist, kindergarten principal , many monsters call me Banban, we already know each other there is no need to redo the presets" I instinctively walked away from him, "(Y/N) please stop being stupid, I heard about the problem with the Is there an elevator and I can help you, is that okay with you or do you have to keep doing this?" asked Banban annoyed; at that point I decided to compose myself and go back to behaving normally.

"Sorry, yes some help would be helpful"
"Well, then I started to go, join me as soon as you can guinea pig" he winked and left the room: before I could leave too, however, I saw an orange key card on top of a box and I took it already assuming where it could take me.
"You smartass again" I looked at the big orange door at the end of the corridor, I knew who it was and I didn't want to see it, but at the same time I wanted clarification...

(Y/N)'s Pov:
I slid the key to the orange button and looked at the big jellyfish behind me, he slowly started to open his eyes and looked at me:
"I feel your anger towards me, I won't hurt you, I'm too weak",
"it's been the sheriff? and then how do I know you won't hurt me?" I said as the orange door closed behind me, "I have no reason to hurt you, even if you're nagging, annoying, stupid-", "yes Flynn I get it, you can't stand me and I can't stand you either, but now I think that you have more to say" I sat down in front of him cross-legged.
"You know things I don't know, or rather things I don't remember, and I know you can help me" he rolled his eyes, "why don't you ask your boyfriend for help, he knows things", "first thing: he's not my boyfriend, second thing: you saw that man act, you know what he did and I want to know and remember that" he let out a ?sigh? and brought a tentacle towards me; distinctly I walked away.
"Do you want to see? Then come closer" I took courage and approached him and touched his tentacle: then...everything went black...

None's Pov:

"(Y/N) do you hear me?",
"yes doc, I hear you",
"well, Banban doesn't seem to answer to his name, he thinks he's me, so he probably knows you, keep your distance though",
"yes Adam I understand, don't worry" (Y/N) entered the cell wearing a long white coat carrying a folder with white sheets in his hand.
The door closed behind her and the creature reacted to that sound by turning its gaze in that direction, "Hello Banb-",
"(Y/N)?" the creature whispered before running towards the girl and hugging her; the real Adam Uthman, from behind the glass, seemed to panic when he saw the creature so close to his girlfriend, but a woman put a hand on his shoulder to stop him, "stop, just look".

"I don't understand anything anymore, I'm closed here, everyone looks at me as if I were a monster, I want to go back to my workplace, all this is so humiliating" said the creature burying his face in the girl's chest, "Banban don't wor-" (Y /N) tried to calm him,
"please don't call me that too..." the monster looked at the girl with shining eyes; there (Y/N) realized that the sentient creature had something more and tried a different approach.
Banban was close to her, fists wrapped (for this point I was inspired by CASE 6 from VenusWritez ), scared: "it's ok, I'm here" (Y/N) put her hands on his head caressing him, "you passed out and we had to check you, that's why you're here" she lied, but this lie seemed to calm him down, "can I run tests to see how you are?" she asked as he pulled away from her and nodded his head.

"What is your name?",
"Adam Uthman, department head, kindergarten principal, even though many have started calling me Banban" she smiled at him,
"you are an intelligent man Adam, if they call you Banban then call yourself that, give them this satisfaction, you know you aren't that mascotte" he looked at her enchanted, his thousands of questions were finding answers:
"do you know who am I?",
"(Y/N), my girlfriend" she blushed a little hearing the monster say those words, "ok, these things you know, then-"
"(Y/N) exit, the test is over" Uthman's voice rang from (Y/N)'s earphone, "already?",
"yes" she snorted and approached Banban; "I have to go out, I'll come see you soon friend" (Y/N) stood up, looked at Banban and gave him a sweet kiss on the forehead, the creature closed its eyes and relaxed into the contact as the doors reopened...

I opened my eyes again, I saw it clouded and felt them wet,
"are you alright doctor?" asked Stinger Flynn looking at me,
"y-yes I'm fine, thank you very much" I got up leaving the orange tentacle,
"Stinger?",
"yes?",
"they told you you were a mistake, that you couldn't get out of here right?" I asked turning to look at him, "yeah, so?" i walked back to his direction and touched his head with one hand, "maybe we can fix this thing" i smiled at him and he seemed surprised by my answer;
"maybe I misjudged you jellyfish",
"maybe I did too doctor",
"I like this nickname."

"Do you think he didn't say anything because he remembers me?" I asked before leaving the room,

"what have they done to you friend?" I asked worried,
"they caught me, they think i'm a criminal, i've been alone for a long time" Seline was closed in her shell and whispered,
"come close to the glass, i won't do anything to you, you know me" she poked an eye out of the shell and she looked at me scared, you could see she had been crying.
"My God, I swear I'll find a way to get you out of here Seline",
"He remembers everything, I know, I often hear him talk",
"Are you talking about Ban?",
"Call him Uthman, that's his name",
"Right, Adam, do you know anything else?" I asked,
"No, but I can help you remember if you want" his voice was so soft and innocent,
"as soon as I figure out how to open this cell we'll work together" I smiled sweetly at the snail before standing up and continuing on.

Banban was there waiting for me in front of the "train",
"I've been waiting for a while, what were you doing?" he asked approaching me,
"Nothing, I was talking a bit with Stinger Flynn" he rolled his eyes, puffing,
"what did he tell you this time?" he got on the platform and gave me his hand to go up,
"it's not so bad" I took his hand and he pulled me forward, ending up against his chest: I looked into his eyes while I blushed, I tried to say something but from my mouth it didn't nothing came out.

Banban's Pov:

She looked at me with her beautiful (E/C) eyes, her hands resting on my arms to keep herself upright, how did i endure two months in that cell without this angel?
"excuse me" she got up from me and clicked the button that started the train:
"So? how are you Uthman? the other day Jumbo Josh literally knocked you over, I thought I would never see you again" I rattled,
"it takes a lot more to throw me down dear" I crossed my arms,
"yes but, that monstrous shape? how did you recover?" she tilted her head in confusion,
"It's ok, just calm down and it goes away, even if after that I'm pretty damaged: we can say that I have anger problems" I gave a soft laugh and smiled at her.

(Y/N)'s Pov:

That beast was really laughing and smiling like a real person, he was cute, almost "innocent" at that moment,
"anyway don't worry about me, Adam Uthman has thick skin" he flexed his right arm as a sign of strength; I have to say that although it was made in the laboratory, it was in very good physical shape.
I smiled at him softly and hugged him, "you scared me, don't do that again",
"what? transform me?",
"no, disappear" he stroked my head,
"don't worry, it won't happen"

"We arrived, but first" Banban approached the first carriage and took Kebob on his shoulders and looked at me smiling,
"so those muscles are real!" I said getting off the carriage,
"you know what else is true?" he came dangerously close to me as I walked and...tripped me. "the fact that you're goofy" he laughed,
"fuck you",
"yes I know".

We were walking on a bridge, Banban in front of me,
"wait, stay down" he said, I looked under the bridge and saw Jumbo Josh come out of the dark: he approached a table full of vegetables but, when he raised his arm, the sheriff's tongue took him and pulled him into a large dark corridor.
"Poor Josh, sure he's a bit restless, but all in all he's a good boy" said Banban with a sad look,
"do you pity him even though he knocked him down the last time you met?" I asked,
"yes, in that form I am very unaware of my actions" Ban and I arrived in a corridor in front of a red door: "please tell me you have a key" I said crossing my fingers,
"lucky for you, yes" Ban took a red key and passed it by the door which opened.

He placed Kebob on the floor on the edge of the piano, with his face directed towards the deepest abyss,
"I have to get rid of this impostor first, you do the honors dear" I approached Kebob and activated him, "he is always very lonely, I hope he has company with him-" before Banban finished his sentence, Nabnab fell from the sky (NABNAB is JESUS) and grabbed Kebob.
"NO NABNAB" Banban yelled as the spider ran away, "WE CANNOT LET NABNAB GET IT" Banban started running full speed after the spider leaving me behind; "WAIT YOU TWO, I DON'T HAVE STRANGE POWERS AND I DON'T RUN THAT FAST, AND I ALSO HAVE SHORT LEGS" I arrived at a corridor, Banban disappeared behind a door and the only way to continue was a park.
"GET ME BACK TO THE SURFACE NOW"

Banban's Pov:

"Damn, is there anything good in you?!" I yelled as I ran after that bloody spider,
"ATTACK" a voice inside me,
"not now please" I said to myself; finally we arrived in a heavenly alley, Nabnab slipped into a room and I joined him.

"I've tried to fix you too many times, I've lost days and days of work on you, I've lost employees, hours of sleep, but now I'm really on edge" Nabnab growled,
"Enough is enough spider, prepare to die" Nabnab jumped on me, I grabbed him by the paw and I threw him to the ground; unfortunately, however, he blocked my arms and tried to choke me.
At that moment I saw (Y/N) on the other side of the glass looking at me scared banging her fists on the glass, almost with tears in her eyes...
"don't resist, or she will die"
"you won't take control"
"Just take the lead, if you can..."

"Partner, wake up" I felt myself shaking and I opened my eyes,
"toadster? everything ok?",
"yes but we're here, you have to wake up" I rubbed my eyes:
"since when is the elevator so soft?" I asked, stretching and putting my hands behind my head,
"you're sleeping leaning on Stinger Flynn" I jumped up and looked behind me; Stinger was slumped between the elevator and the floor.
"Should we leave him here?" I asked,
"for now yes, he stays here, as for us, we are in big trouble" he crossed his arms:
"I haven't been to this floor since they abandoned me, the queen, bittergiggle and other people found me, I didn't think I should never have come back down here, but here we are" he looked at the door next to us with a melancholy look, "on this floor there is the queen's scepter, it's our only way to stop all this, it's guarded by the surgeon, but the naughty ones won't stop easily, they will hunt us" while toadstool spoke, I went to open the door;
"Keep talking, but in the meantime let's get out of here" I said.
"What are the naughty ones?" I asked as I walked next to him,
"they look like snails, they are aggressive towards us but they only move in the dark, so if we stay near lights we are safe-" as Toadster said this, the lights around us went out, leaving the two of us in the dark.
"SHIT, WE'RE GOING TOWARDS THE LIGHT, RUN" Toadster took off at full speed, running and leaving me behind,
"YOU BAD TOAD DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE HERE AND WAIT FOR ME" I started running after him while I heard many little voices talking behind and around me, I continued to running until I reached a toadster near a switch:
"we should be ok" he said turning to look at me, I could tell from my face that I was angry with him,
"what's wrong?" he asked confused,
"I'm tired, let me come back to the surface",
"you know you can't-"
"I WAS IRONIC, BUT STOP RUNNING, YOU'RE THE THIRD CREATURE THAT DEMANDS ME TO RUN AT THE SAME SPEED AS YOU, BUT I DON'T HAVE A STRANGE GREEN SUBSTANCE IN MY VEINS THAT GIVES ME SPECIAL POWERS" I screamed, Toadster remained silent; "a year has passed but you still remain the same, I missed you in the laboratory doctor" I looked at him tiredly and sighed, "it's okay".
We entered a kind of room with a road, some trees and a wooden house, at the end of the road there was a big door with four buttons,
"this is where you were all that time?" I asked,
"I would like to tell you no but unfortunately yes, I have taken refuge here all the time I have been alone, and that is the door that will lead us to the scepter: it needs to be opened with four switches that are scattered around the plan" he said,
"let me guess, I have to find them right?" I rolled my eyes,
"that's right partner" I snorted,
"come on you've faced worse things, like nabnaleena",
"please don't remind me, and then, how do you know?",
"rumours travel fast here.. .and also the gossip" he whispered the last part;
"what do you mean?",

(Y/N) Pov's:

"This room is nice" I said as I entered the large white room, in the center there were many tables and colored armchairs, the room was divided into two floors and there were 3 lamps.
I began to climb the stairs and look at the walls around me, little by little my mind was recovering small pieces of my lost memories: me rushing through the corridors of the laboratory, most of the time with documents in hand running from from room to room, after all I was the smallest of the scientists, so they took advantage of me by giving me documents to carry from room to room and, many times, I had bumped into other people.
On the wall I saw a drawing by Stinger Flynn who said life is a series of events played out in the right order, "that's actually true, but if my life is a video game, I think I started from the final game and I'm missing the rest of the saga" when I said this I heard a laugh coming from the room below:
"is anyone there?" I took a blue card and went down the stairs to open the door; I clicked the switch to find myself face to face with the Jester.
"YOU" I said walking away from the monster, "NOT AGAIN, HOW CAN YOU BE ALIVE",
"Did they leave?" Bittergiggle asked, he looked...scared?
"who?" I asked,
"the naughty ones, they followed me here, while I ran in the dark, there were 3 or 4 of them, I didn't look at them all but I could hear them crawling behind me, until I got to this room and locked myself in" Bittergiggle went out slowly from the room, he was in front of me, he was definitely taller than I had imagined, he was probably even taller than Banban:
"you won't hurt me?" I asked,
"of course not, I already regretted what I did, I knew the consequences but I still told that stupid joke to the queen, she could have even died because of me and we can't go back to the secret plan, the only way I can to go back up and find the queen's scepter, but the sheriff is already looking for it and would probably kill me right now",
"you're sincere?",
"yes of course, I would never joke about this situation, my humor is not that stupid",
"I'm with the sheriff, we're looking for the scepter, would you help us?" I said, slowly approaching him,
"of course, I have to make amends for my actions, I'm on your side...wait, what's your name?",
"I'm (Y/N)",
"THAT (Y/N)? THE SCIENTIST'S GIRLFRIEND?!" he asked shocked,
"Everyone knew it except me, great, I was but now I'm not, he's not a good person and I don't want anything to do with him anymore" I said crossing my arms.
"Whatever you say, anyway here is this puzzle to solve" said Bittergiggle pointing to the diagrams on the walls, I approached the walls and tried to understand what I had to do and in what order to activate the buttons.

TIME SKIP

"Tell me it's the last one please, I can't do it anymore" I activated the last button and it was right, "finally, now there are these lights to organize" I went back and entered the room where the jester, I turned off the lights and started projecting images on the screen:
"whatever you're doing, you have to be quick, they move in the dark" Bittergiggle shouted to me from downstairs,
"I know, but give me a moment" I lined up the last one before an alarm went off; "get in here, hurry" Bittergiggle told me as he ran into the room and I followed him, then the door closed.
"we have to wait for the video outside to finish, don't go out under any circumstances" the jester moved away from the door as much as possible, "don't say a word",
"don't worry, why should I open?-"
"hey? you're in there, I'm your friend Banban, let me in" I instantly turned towards the door, "Banban?" I whispered,
"no, don't fall for it, it's not him" Bittergiggle said, I took a step forward and he put his hand on my shoulder,
"(Y/N) no, don't fall for it or we're dead, don't be stupid" I looked at him first and then the door:
"(Y/N) let me in come on, I'm your friend" the voice behind the door was heard again,
"what if it's really him?" I asked looking at the jester,
"it's not him, trust me please" I looked at the door one last time; "you're right" I walked away and sat in the corner, "let's wait until you leave" I said while the crowd outside the door banged their fists against the entrance.

After a while, finally, he went away, "now we can go out, the lights are coming back on, he opened the door" Bittergiggle approached the door and opened it and then went out, I followed him:
"Come after me, I will convince the sheriff that you are good, promise" I said to him as I left the room, he smiled at me and followed me.

TIME SKIP

"Sheriff, I'm back" I greeted him from afar, he was on top of a platform with...BANBALEENA?!
"BAD STUDENT" she screamed when she saw me,
"Oh no, sheriff why is she here?" I asked,
"she was seeking refuge, while you, how dare you show up here with the enemy" he glared at me before turning to Bittergiggle and saying,
"you have some nerve showing up after what you did, (Y/N) you are a traitor, I knew I shouldn't trust you, go away" said Toadster, before I could answer, a large worm broke the wall, made Banbaleena faint and dragged her into the darkness; "NO, I WILL SAVE YOU" Toadster ran after her while the Jester and I ran to the light and safety.

(Y/N) Pov's:

"We should be safe here. Are you okay?" Bittergiggle asked me,
"Yes",
"What is he doing here?" The Jester asked, I turned around and saw Stinger Flynn sitting by the door looking at me and Bittergiggle judging us, nothing new:
"The duo of destruction, a failed experiment and Adam's ex, this is all your fault you know? (Y/N) if you had followed my plan from the beginning none of this would have happened" said Stinger Flynn with a serious expression and looking up at the sky,
"It's my fault, I caused all this" the Jester looked sadly at the floor, "but I'm trying to make up for my mistake"
"Redeeming yourself after having already made a mistake makes no sense, especially if this mistake is big" replied the jellyfish,
"Thanks for the support Stinger, you're very helpful" I said and looked at the door, "but a switch is on, you mean we're on the right track, Bittergiggle do you have any idea where the others are?" I asked,
"Yes, yes where they are, but I can't access those parts of the floor since the sheriff has changed the security system to prevent me from entering and tampering with something, sometimes I think he's a little too paranoid"; "It's not paranoid if when you try to do something you cause problems",
"Stinger, shut the fuck up."

TIME SKIP

I swiped the yellow card on the switch to open the door, which in fact opened immediately and I entered; Bittergiggle had stayed with Stinger Flynn at the base, he would join me later.
"Come on man let's get back together, people will think you're ridiculous when you walk around hopping on one leg like a rabbit" a prototype Bittergiggle was split in half and was arguing on a bridge made from a log suspended over nothing,
"let me think...NEVER" the other half jumped on the other and they both fell into the darkness;
"well, that was dramatic."

TIME SKIP

I ignored yet another legless BitterGiggle sitting in the corner rocking and babbling about perfect jokes, "this one is crazier than the others" I opened the door and...
"(Y/N)"
"ADAM" the creature with the appearance of Banban was in front of me, he too seemed surprised to see me but, as soon as he saw me, he opened his arms and ran towards me:
"Are you okay? Have you recovered from the attack? Where is Nabnab? Is he dead?" I asked as I held onto him tightly,
"one question at a time, yes I am fine, yes I have recovered, Nabnab is alive and well just imprisoned" he looked into my eyes, "how are you?",
"I'm fine, Bittergiggle is helping me, it's good" I said pulling away from the hug, Adam frowned at me, "was he close to you that much?" he asked seriously,
"What's the matter? Jealous? I said,
"honestly yes, my guinea pig is only mine and you know it too" he said seriously, he took my hand and pulled me towards him, this made me blush quite a bit; "so? was he close to you?", "no don't worry doc" Banban left me but continued to hold my hand.

"Well, the switch is upstairs, shall we go?" he said smiling again,
"of course" the door opened as soon as we approached and we started climbing the stairs in the dark,
"you had the money for the experiments but not to put lights on the stairs?" I asked sarcastically,
"who told you I paid to do the experiments? and who told you I had money?" he replied, I facepalmed,
"that explains it"; his hand was bigger than mine, he had two fewer fingers but that didn't make his handshake any weaker, even though it was made of that strange, red material I could clearly feel some "muscles" or at least, I could feel that he was strong.
"You have to open this door" he said as soon as we reached the top of the stairs,
"when I wasn't there, how did you go around the floors if you don't have access to any room? You transformed into the Macho man you are when you get angry and were you throwing it down?" he laughed at this,
"no, I just didn't need to go to certain floors of the building, this one for example is an abandoned floor, I hadn't been there for years now" while he continued talking I opened the red door, in front there was a garden with bushes with various statues, most were of Mr Kebob and two were of Banban, while to the right there was a closed red room, similar to the closed elevator on the floor where I had first met Adam turn.
"This place is familiar, don't you think so (Y/N)?" he said, standing behind me and resting his chin on my head,
"yes, it reminds me of something, I don't know exactly what though" my memory was still very cloudy,
"when we're done, would you like to come back here to see if I remember anything ?" I asked him,
"it's okay, I still have to understand why your mind is clouded" he said; he didn't know that in reality, the reason for my memory loss was Adam Uthman himself, but there still wasn't a simple way to explain it, nor had I yet understood everything myself...

(Y/N) Pov's:

"Couldn't you help me? These statues of...what material are they made of?" I asked as I pushed the last statue of Banban towards the end of the riddle, "it's marble" replied Banban from the back of the room: after we had understood how that riddle worked, and it had taken us a while to understand it...

FLASHBACK

"Do you see anything inside his mouth?" Banban said while I was sitting on his shoulders and he was holding my legs with his hands, "no nothing, maybe this isn't the right way to solve this riddle, let me get off"

END FLASHBACK

"Thanks, so as I was saying, these marble statues are a little too heavy for me, it would be very helpful if instead of standing there immobile you would help me push them you know?" I said tiredly,
"No thanks dear, I'm fine standing here, it's nice to see you working",
"After this you owe me a big favor Adam and if you don't remember I'll be there to remind you every 2 seconds" I wiped the sweat on my forehead with my hand, I looked around and saw that the red door in the middle of the room had opened , so I walked over and took the red card.
"Ladies first" he said moving away from the red door to let me pass forward, "very nice, especially because I have the card" I swiped the card and the door opened, a little snail monster came out from there and he started running away: "be careful" Banban pulled me towards him, "is that a Naughty one?" I asked,
"Exactly, but I don't understand what he was doing in here, this room must have been empty" the little monster jumped from the other side of the green flowerbeds dropping something before jumping; "I'm going to see what he dropped, in the meantime you go into the room and see what's needed" I said as I gave the key to Banban and walked away to get the mysterious object.
I reached down and picked it up, "a piece of iron?"
"(Y/n)? Do you know that guy? Is he a friend of yours?" Banban said, I turned and looked around: at the entrance to the room there was a Naughty one bigger than the others and more muscular, I took a step back, "you can also tell him to get down from there, we won't eat their pancreas" the creature sighed, "HOLD THE DOOR OPEN" I ran as fast as I could towards the door but first I was tackled against the white wall by a large hand; the creature had me pinned against the wall, I couldn't move and Banban was locked inside the red room.

"So you're the one who freed me, thank you so much miss" he said in a deep voice,
"did you get my warning? You had time to run and leave and yet here you are, what a shame to kill such a pretty face" his grip on he was too strong to free me, he growled in front of me and I closed my eyes convinced that I was dead and then...
I heard a loud noise behind me, like glass breaking and then a muscular red hand throwing a punch at the monster, without his hand to hold me against the wall I fell but didn't land on the ground:
"are you okay?" a deep and familiar voice asked me, I opened my eyes and...
"macho man is back I see" I said seeing Hellish Banban holding me in his red muscular arms, "did you miss me sweetie?~" he approached me with a provocative look and I blushed,
"take it easy you beast" I tried to move away from him a little; the monster was not far from us and was holding his head with one hand, he looked at us and growled again, "trust me" Banban remained motionless while that beast ran towards us, he moved at the last moment and the creature crashed into the broken glass and got stuck.
"Adam you're a genius" I said as I watched the worm wriggle, I turned to look at Banban but he was already looking at me, still holding me tight: "everything ok?",
"I missed you beautiful" his face was a few centimeters from mine,
"Adam? Are you sure you're okay? You and I don't-"
"Come on (Y/N), you don't have all your memories but the important ones are here, I know you remember our relationship, and I missed the presence of my beloved" he lifted my chin with his finger and... kiss me.
His lips were the same consistency as the rest of his body, the kiss was soft but full of passion, he placed a hand on my cheek caressing me while I opened my eyes in surprise: the real Adam wasn't like that, he wasn't there like that so much passion between the two of us, with this monster the situation was different; I closed my eyes too and let him kiss me.

Banban Pov's:

"YOU ARE CRAZY! GIVE ME CONTROL NOW"
"Come on it's so beautiful, I missed it"
"BUT THIS WAS NOT THE RIGHT TIME, I WANTED SHE TO REMEMBER SOME THINGS FIRST, my God you ruined everything you beast"
"Talk as much as you want, only I can hear you, doctor, and then look at her, you missed her too, admit it"
"Yes, very much"...

She broke away from the kiss and looked at me in shock, "sorry, I've wanted to do this for a long time, but you'll talk about it with the other me" I winked at her and made her get off,
"now go, I'll take care of this monster and then I'll join you, ok love?"
She was red and looks at me confused, how cute;
"Okay" she finally said before running off towards the exit leaving me alone with the slug.
"So? Your name?" I asked coming closer seeing that he had managed to free himself, "Sr.Dadadoo, you must be Banban" I hated that name,
"ok dickface now you deal with me"

I left the room and started climbing the stairs in the dark still shocked, "he kissed me, he kissed me, he kissed me, he kissed me-" I collided with something in front of me,
"Hey (Y/N) are you okay? You seem upset" it was Bittergiggle,
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"I thought you would need help so I thought I'd come with you too, first I met Banban, he told me he was coming to you to help you so I decided to join you" I blushed but luckily we were in the dark;
"Don't worry Giggle, everything is settled here, Banban is...he's handling the situation on his own" I said as I tried to go on my way,
"Alone? Shouldn't we go help him maybe?" Said the jester walking behind me, "NO, there's no there's no need don't worry, he can handle himself just fine",
"Okay? You seem weird to me (Y/N),"
"Weird? Hahahahah I'm not weird" I said smiling forcedly trying to hide my embarrassment.

TIME SKIP

"So, have you met Sr. Dadadoo?",
"Yes, he tried to choke me against a wall",
"What a nice guy," Bittergiggle said sarcastically,
"Although it doesn't surprise me, the mess that's happening down here is his fault" he entered a room before me: "The second switch activates from this room, however first these 4 buttons must be repaired, the power is off, we have to work together" I nodded,
"Explain what I have to do",
"(Y/N) go up the stairs and watch me, the Naughty Ones will try to attract me so cover me, just light me up and they will go away scared" I started to go up the stairs and then reach the lamps, "one of them might even come down from the ceiling, the light in that area is recharged manually every time it is used",
"Got it, anything else?" I said leaning over the railing,
"No, be careful because if we get something wrong we're dead" I nodded to Bittergiggle;
"Are you ready?",
"Born Ready".

TIME SKIP

"ONE IS MISSING, DON'T GIVE UP NOW" Bittergiggle yelled at me from downstairs as I ran from side to side, turned on the lights and moved them, ran to turn on the ceiling light as I watched those monsters come out of the room everywhere .
"BITTERGIGGLE, QUICK PLEASE, THEY'RE TOO FAST" I said as I clicked the button on the ceiling light with a big slug in front of my eyes dropping from the ceiling, "DONE" Bittergiggle's voice said as the lights went on and I fell on the floor from exhaustion, "(Y/N) press the switch so we...everything okay?" He asked as he looked at me, I was lying on the ground trying to catch my breath, I raised my arm and gave a thumbs up,
"do you want a hand?" the jester climbs the stairs and reaches me looking down at me,
"Will you carry me in your arms?" I asked, he smiled kindly,
"Of course" he took me and lifted me into his arms; we flipped the switch and went back to base.

TIME SKIP

"You know Giggle, you're not that bad,"
"Can I tell you a joke?",
"Come on man, you were doing so well-"
"What?",
"Nothing, just talk" The Jester and I were walking in the dark among the streetlights that were turning on,
"What do you call a toad that's upset? Unhoppy!" Suddenly many voices around us started laughing: "did you hear them?" he asked,
"It's the Naughty ones" I replied,
"They laughed at my joke, it's been a long time since anyone laughed at one of my jokes" Bitter giggle smiled full of joy and started running towards the shelter while still laughing and holding me in his arms.
When we arrived at the base we looked around,
"Hey there's your friend" Bittergiggle said starting to walk towards Ban, he saw us and looked at me.

Banban Pov's:

"What is she doing in his arms?" The voice in my head said angrily, I clenched my fists seeing Bittergiggle walking with her in his arms, "how is the situation here? We found the other switch, only one missing" the Jester said, (Y/N) looked me with her big (E/C) eyes, maybe she expected me to say something to her, "no, nothing, but Nabnban was bothering me again so I imprisoned him, and your cat friend came too even though I didn't have I had the courage to go and talk to her" I said looking the creature in the eyes, the fact that he was taller than me was quite humiliating from some points of view-
"Splendid, I'll go straight to her, she's one of the few who laughs at my jokes, well...now I've discovered that Dadadoo's children like them too",
"Are you sure they are his children?",
"No, but judging by the looks I think they are, his name would also make sense right? Dada-doo" I nodded at the Jester's reasoning;
"You're not wrong" he smiled at me and let (Y/N) off as he walked towards Kittysaurus.

(Y/N) Pov's:

"Hey?" I said as I approached Banban,
"Can we talk about earlier?" I asked,
"Yes, I'm so sorry, when I'm in that shape I'm not in full control and you know it, so I'm really sorry-"
"Adam" I said seriously, blocking him while he continued to talk nonsense, I grabbed him by the cheeks and lowered him to my level:

MEANWHILE, IN THE MIND OF BANBAN

"SHUT UP"

IN REALITY

"Adam, it's okay, don't worry" I stroked his cheek with my finger,
"This relationship, if we can define it that way, is a very delicate situation and I think you know it too so...",
"I know (Y/N), I wanted to wait because it didn't seem like the right thing to do but unfortunately that thing did that, and I'm sorry" in that moment I understood; Maybe he didn't want me, which is why he wasn't happy with what the monster had done...
"I understand," I said, taking my hands off him and looking down,
"Are you okay? Did I say something wrong?" He asked in his usual dull tone,
"No, it's ok, Mnh...I think I'll go talk to Stinger for a bit ok? See you later" I turned and walked away in silence.

Banban Pov's:

"My friend, you have it all wrong",
"Why did she react like that? I told the truth,"
"Adam you're an idiot, you'll realize it soon"
"What do you mean? I don't want to rush into this relationship, I want to go back to being with her like the old days, that's why I want to do things calmly"
"Doctor, I can swear to you, as soon as you let me go out with her I'll talk to her and see if she understands better"

I approached Stinger Flynn who was lying on the lawn at the entrance to the gray road:
"Did he tell you I wanted to talk to you?" He asked as I approached, I rested my head on his body and sighed,
"couple problems?" he asked,
"We are not a couple, Stinger or at least, Uthman doesn't want to",
"Please, between you and me, call him Banban when only the two of us talk, I knew the real Uthman and I don't want to connect those two, they are two different people after all" I said nothing and just looked him in the eye,
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked,
"I wanted some support" I replied with a sad smile,
"I often forget that few of you have had any real human interactions, sorry Stinger, maybe I'm asking a little too much, what did you have to tell me?" He looked at me visibly angry,
"Sorry? How dare you consider me so stupid? Do you want the truth? As I already told you, you are an annoying but intelligent woman, perhaps even too smart for my taste, but you are exactly like Uthman, THE REAL UTHMAN" I underline this part, "so you and him are perfect for each other, two perfect idiots and if you two got back together it would just be torture for me having two annoying creatures to deal with" Stinger Flynn said annoyed, I looked at him amazed; "thank you? that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me."
"in any case (Y/N), this is not the main issue, the issue is that Banban is like him, they reasoned the same way, however there is a difference: Uthman knew what to do in the laboratories, therefore Banban knew it too, but time has passed, so all his reasoning is not totally correct and many are still connected to old events that happened some time ago" while he spoke I sat down in front of him and crossed my legs,
"I don't understand what you're trying to get at,"
"Let me talk, Banban has Uthman's memory since he donated his genome, a time before he abandoned you, so Banban knows nothing about the accident because Uthman probably didn't even think about leaving you at that time",
"Correction, try to kill me in fire" I said sarcastically,
"Right, finally, Banban tries to make things right with you as if there was only a month or two of silence between you two, because he doesn't know the truth."
"So you're saying he wants to be with me too?" I asked with a sliver of hope,

"Well, whatever the devil wants"
"Hellish? Is that form in control now?",

"Ush, you're too cruel" I laugh, rocking backwards and lying on the asphalt: "I don't know, maybe I like him though... it's difficult" I heard the jellyfish sigh,
"Human emotions, I will never understand",
"I'll never understand them either man" I stood up,
"Hey Stinger" he looked at me,
"When it's all over I'll make you better",
"Thanks for just calling me failed experiment doc, very sweet of you" I burst out laughing,
"I DIDN'T MEAN THAT, I meant" I took one of his tentacles in my hands, "you will be able to feel all the emotions you want, you and all the other experiments, I will be able to get you out of here and you will be able to change dimensions at will" he seemed to appreciate this and I he placed the tentacle on his head;
"Thank you (Y/N), I really appreciate this" I smiled happily,
"Now we are friends?" I asked,
"Perhaps".

Banban Pov's:
"What are they talking about?"
"I don't know, shut up, I'm trying to understand,"
"I hate that jellyfish"
"At least we agree on one thing monster"

(Y/N) Pov's:
"Anyway Banban sent me here because you had to talk to me, go ahead" I said to the jellyfish,
"I can bring back more memories if you want" said Stinger Flynn,
"Yes thanks, go ahead" I sat on the ground while he brought a tentacle closer to my head and everything went black...

Banban Pov's:
I was sitting against the wall waiting "Can't you just walk up to them?",
"Can you shut up for a moment please?"
"Wait..." I saw Stinger bring his tentacle too close to (Y/N) as she fainted; I clenched my fists scratching the wall,
"Are you coming closer now?"
"Yes"

None Pov's:
"What do you think you're doing Stinger Flynn" Banban, transformed into Hellish, approached the jellyfish furiously,

"I will still be reasonable when I tear your one eye out of your head and then crush it under my feet,"
"I take back what I said, you're still the same stupid" Stinger Flynn rolled his eyes;
Banban moved away from the other monster and sat down in a corner still holding the unconscious (Y/N) in his arms: he ran a hand through her hair and smiled kindly as he returned to his normal form, once transformed back, (Y/ N) began to stir in his sleep, "don't worry dear, I'm here with you" he held her close and closed his eyes smiling, "who knows what you're experiencing now"...

(Y/N) Pov's:

I heard a loud alarm go off in the corridors of the floor, the lights started flashing red, I saw the scientists running around me, they seemed terrified, I tried to walk in the opposite direction to where they were running away, I stopped one of them by placing a hand on his shoulder ,
"What is going on?" I asked, the employee's face was terrified,
"The devil escaped from the security cell, he became enraged, he killed the guards who were watching over him, we are blocking all the exits on the floor to prevent them from escaping",
"Banban..." I whispered,
"I'll be right back" I let go of the employee and started running in the opposite direction, I had to reach Uthman.
"Uthman" I arrived at his office and I slammed the door open, he was checking every active camera in the building probably looking for Banban: "(Y/N) leave now, it's not safe here for you" when he noticed me he stood up from the desk and approached me pushing me out of the room,
"What? No Adam stop" I turned around,
"Adam I have been in contact with that monster, I know how he thinks, let me help",
"No, go away, it's not safe for you, you've seen what that creature is capable of, and I'm the only one who can stop it,"
"When I spoke to him he didn't attack me, he won't hurt me, I'll make him see reason without using violence",
"Too bad I'm going to use that one." Uthman walked over to the desk and pulled a green syringe out of the drawer.
"Adam, don't hurt him" I said looking at him seriously,
"Love please, don't tell me how to do my job" he started to walk past me but I stopped him,
"That creature is good, I know how to approach him" I said, he pushed me away, on the bookcase there was a syringe with some sleeping pill, I knew what I had to do...
"Adam" I approached him, "sorry" I took the syringe and injected it into his arm:
"YOU CRAZY" Adam slapped me in the face as he started to get weaker and fell to the ground; "Sorry love, but I won't let you hurt him."

TIME SKIP

The alarm was deactivated but the guards were everywhere, blocking every elevator and it was almost impossible to get down, however I managed to get downstairs in the elevator before they blocked it:
"He's not here, he must have come down, damn we haven't visited these floors for a long time" I arrived at an empty and silent floor, with a long corridor,
"Uthman? Are you here?" I said out loud as I got off the elevator,
"Is there anyone?" A voice said,
"Yes, I'm a scientist, where are you?", I started walking towards the voice; sitting in the corner was a brown toad looking at me.
"Hey hi buddy, what are you doing here?" I asked as I approached him,
"I'm Sheriff Toadstol, they abandoned me here",
"Oh my God, I'm sorry, why?",
"I don't know, I wasn't doing well anymore" I gently stroked his head,
"I will tell Adam about you" he remained silent and looked at me with a sad look;
"Did you see anyone else pass by here?" I asked,
"Yes, he went downstairs,"
"That floor is more abandoned than this one...Thanks toadstol, hope to see you again" I walked away and got back on the elevator and started going down to one of the more abandoned floors in the building.
"Uthman?",
"(Y/N)? Is that you?" The neutral voice, I had finally found it,
"Yes I'm here, where are you?" I started climbing some stairs in the dark until I reached a garden with statues, I opened the door and found Banban sitting in a corner, I ran towards him worried, I wasn't believing it either but I jumped on him and hugged him:
"I thought something had happened to you, I was very worried" I hugged him tightly,
"You look like a stuffed animal because of how soft you are-" I added while smiling,
"(Y/N) please don't make me go back to the cell, I want to stay here",
"Don't worry, I'll take care of you" I sat next to him and rested my head on his shoulder,
"Were you worried about me?" he asked,
"Absolutely, I care about you,"
"Thank you, you're the only one who hasn't turned your back on me yet,"
"And I never will, I promise,"
"you are a good girlfriend (Y/N)",
"yes, girlfriend"

None Pov's:

Banban left (Y/N) on the ground and approached the Jester:
"Bittergiggle, I'll leave (Y/N) with you, take care of her, I'll go flip the last switch,"
"Ok banban, when she wakes up I tell her to join you?" Banban turned and glared at him,
"What did you call me?" He said seriously,
"Banban? What should I call you" Banban gave a nervous laugh and rubbed his forehead,
"No, I am Uthman, call me that",
"Why?" Banban suddenly transformed and punched Bittergiggle;
"Because if you don't , this happens",
"Ok I understand, thanks for letting me know."

TIME SKIP

(Y/N) Pov's:

He wakes me up slowly and I put my feet up,
"You're finally awake, Banb- I mean Uthman went to look for the last switch, do you want to go with him" the Jester told me as I passed him,
"Are you okay? You seem nervous" I told him,
"Uthman punched me because I called him Banban",
"I forgot to tell you, sorry" I said embarrassed, scratching my head.

"We can go?" Banban Churches, "Can I talk to you first please?" I asked him, he looked at me a little confused but followed me away from the Jester so that we had our privacy: "Adam, when we talked earlier, I realized something" I walked closer to him, "You said you don't have a crush on me, but Hellish does" I blushed "and I knew it a long time ago" Banban listened to me in silence, "I feel connected to you, I don't know how yet, but I like how Hellish approached me, so sorry if you're against it, but I would like to maintain the relationship I was creating with him, are you okay with that?"; "Oh, yeah okay..." was all he said.

In Banban's head

As soon as we finished talking we returned to the Jester who was waiting for us,
"shall we leave him like this?" I pointed to Nabnab locked in a cage,
"Do I have to free him?" Banban asked annotated,
"Yes",
"Ok fine" Banban went to the cage, opened it and Nabnab ran away; "happy now (Y/N)?",
"Yes".
"ok, BitterGiggle, open the door" I said, he nodded and pushed the large door which opened: inside the room was very similar to the queen's room with, in the center, a large wooden box.
The 3 of us started to approach the center of the room, the jester remained at a distance while Banban and I went up the stairs, "alright, (Y/N) open this thing and let's finish this story" Banban said pointing to two buttons, I went down and clicked the first before being interrupted by the Jester: "wait, are you sure you really want to do this?" He asked me but, before I could do anything, Nabnab came and clicked him, "NO NABNAB, DAMN I SHOULD HAVE KILLED YOU WHEN I COULD HAVE DONE IT" Banban screamed as the wooden box opened; the scepter began to float out covered in magical light.
"Wait...there's a piece missing" said the Jester looking at him, "he's right, where did you put it" a deep voice spoke behind the 3 of us, we turned and found Sir Dadadoo looking at us.
"I followed you to get here and now the scepter is broken? Come on guys, it's not funny" he said sarcastically,
"We don't know, we're as surprised as you are," said the Jester,
"Really? You've never been good at lying Giggle, will you tell me or will I have to kill your kitten out there?" Dadadoo said menacingly,
"No, Nabnab come" Banban called the monster, "I take back what I said, you are a good friend but.." Banban squeezed the givanium into his neck, "you are slow" he threw him away violently:
"You were bad" I told him,
"Just wait" a transformed Nabnab came out of the darkness and attacked Dadadoo; "NOW, LET'S RUN," the Jester shouted as we started running through the halls.

TIME SKIP

While they ran through the bushes I stayed behind, "GUYS WAIT" I said while I tried to catch up with them but nothing, I thought I was going to die but Banban suddenly grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me towards him making me speed up, "I'm not leaving you behind (Y/ N)" I smiled at him as we continued running; at a point in the middle however BittleGiggle stopped, "BitterGiggle come on" I said to him as I stopped with him, "I can't, they appreciate my jokes (Y/N), it's my chance, I can't miss it" I looked at him sad but I nodded, "if that's what you want, I'm happy for you, go ahead buddy" Banban and I left him behind as we continued running towards the elevator.
"Arrived, let's go" I got on the elevator but the lights went out and the Dadadoo appeared in front of us with a real army:
"And here our heroes understand that they have only wasted time, good work to you two, but it's all in vain" the Dadadoo laughed,
"No," Banban said, "(Y/N) go, find the surgeon and fix all this,"
"What? No I won't leave you alone" I approached him,
"Go" he said in a deeper voice,
"Adam please" he put a hand on my shoulder and pulled me towards him;
"sorry if it seemed like I didn't before, I love you, I've loved you since the first time I saw you, I promise I'll come find you, we'll find the kids and get out of here" he kissed me while I hugged him.
"How cute, too bad you're about to be crushed you stupid red devil" said Dadadoo pretending to be moved, Banban glared at him and then looked at me; "Now go" I was forced to go up without him.

"Well Adam, good work today too, it's always a pleasure talking to you" I said as I stood up and started to move away from the red monster in front of me, as I headed towards the door he spoke behind me,
"Are you still looking for a way to get me out of here?" he asked,
"Yes, don't worry, trust me" I smiled happily at him.

"Idiot" I said as I continued to cry, I was sitting in the elevator that seemed to be going down for days now, I hugged my legs and tried to stop crying, without success: "he can't die...no he can't, it's not possible. .." I clutched my hair, "stupid Banban, stupid (Y/n), you fell in love with a monster..."
While I was talking, the elevator finally arrived at the next floor and I was able to get off.

TIME SKIP

(Y/n) pov's:

As soon as the video in front of me ended, I took the orange paper: as I was about to leave I looked at the chair in that room, on top of it there was an old white coat. "Don't tell me that.." I went closer, opened it and read the old name on the tag on the left, it was ruined and could barely be read, "Dr. Uthman Adam"; "I fell in love with a monster...twice, but if this man is still alive, I will kill him with my own hands" I took the lab coat and put it on, "Banban, we will meet again, I swear", I closed my eyes eyes, I took a deep breath and moved on.
Opening the next door, I found myself in a room full of, aliens? I believe? They were hanging from the ceiling and seemed dead: I started walking among them in the dark, I felt them swinging around me, a shiver ran down my spine.
Only then did I notice a tall figure at the end of the corridor, he seemed to have 4 arms and was looking at me, I started to slowly approach him but, suddenly, a blow to the head made me faint.

TIME SKIP

I wake up hearing a voice next to me, I could barely see and there was a strong light above me:
"B..ban?" I said, all this seemed like a great Deja vu, unfortunately there wasn't who I expected to find in front of me; a tall, pink, 4-armed creature was looking at me standing next to my bed,
"You would like it, he would have left you alive, but I wouldn't. You, hand me the scissors" said the creature turning to a green monster next to him.
"You should be happy, your body will be used for scientific purposes,"
"what? no" I tried to get up but I was too weak,
"Wow, what a beautiful nature you have, Miss",
"I used to work here, it's better if you stop immediately" I said looking at him seriously, my head hurt and I could barely keep my eyes open,
"I'll decide this" suddenly I couldn't take it anymore and I fainted.

(Y/n) Pov's:

I opened my eyes slowly, I was still lying on the bed,
"My head" I complained as I sat up, I looked around: the room was full of Givanium on the floor and objects for operations.
I stood up and walked to a piece of broken mirror on the floor, picked it up, complained when I cut my hand from the broken material, looked at my hand and then at my reflection: how long had it been since I was there? It could have been a week or a few months, I had completely lost track of the days, my (H/C) hair was a mess, I had dark circles under my eyes, the shirts I was wearing were old, worn out and dirty from Givanium.
"Fuck, how did I get so bad?" I said with a melancholy expression, I felt stuck in that situation, I couldn't get out anymore but stopping wasn't an option, I was a puppet in the hands of a monster; More than once, I had felt Uthman's old presence near me, especially when I was alone.
I shook my head, trying not to think about everything that was happening and how little more human I felt down there...

TIME SKIP

"Please kill him" the Surgeon shouted at me while one of the Naughty ones jumped on him trying to bite him,
"I wanted to hear exactly this" with a hammer blow I approached the monster hitting him on the head, I half-smiled and crossed my arms while he tries to catch his breath:
"Thank you... you will no longer be used as a guinea pig" a shiver ran down my spine,
"I would like to be his again..." I whispered softly, I don't know if he heard me but he looked me up and down,
"Are you (Y/n) Uthman? The one the sheriff was talking about?" I was about to correct him but, it was at least the tenth time that someone associated me with Adam and by now I didn't even feel like protesting anymore, plus, I didn't mind being called that if it meant being respected more; "you know what? Yes that's me" I straightened my shirt and maintained eye contact with him, he sighed, "you look like him".

"Come on, we have something to take care of" he turned and started walking while I followed him from behind,
"Dadadoo came here and destroyed a lot of things, a mutual friend of ours said it was an annoying human and that it's his fault" he looked at me sarcastically while I rolled my eyes,
"I already have Stinger flynn have to remind me, I don't need you too" I sat in a chair in his office,
"Anyway, to defeat him we need him" Syringeon pointed to the Jumbo Josh drawn on the blackboard,
"Jumbo? Why?" I asked,
"He's too stupid to be controlled" I smiled slightly:
"Wow, for a former worker here you are very stupid (Y/n), What duties did you have?" He asked me as he walked away to get something,
"Before I only brought documents to the scientists, then I started to get in touch with the experts, in particular with Case 6, I was his assistant par excellence, if there was a need to get in touch with him they only called me",
"Ah, the devil, who knows where he ended up, one of the best experiments and at the same time, one of the most unsuccessful" he said from the other room,

"My superiors? Don't make me laugh, I've been here longer than you, I worked closely with the head of the department" I started to raise my voice as I stood up,
"So? That man was a crazy," he retorted,
"Yes he was, but he was also a genius, without him you wouldn't even be here",
"Please don't tell me you were his pet or something: You have no power here and you don't know what was going through their minds" he said angrily approaching me, I did the same.
"Of course I knew it and I still know it, Banban told me everything,"
"And do you really trust him??",
"Yes because he's my boyfriend" I shouted the final part, stomping my foot and looking him straight in the eyes...

"CASE 4, STOP FOLLOWING YOUR STUPID MONSTERS AND WORK WITH YOUR WORK" the surgeon, motionless, watched the head of the department and his superior, Adam Uthman, shout angrily at him: he seemed not to have slept for days, his dark circles did not had never been so big, his hair was messy;
Syringeon sighed, "ok boss."

(Y/n)'s Pov:
"Ah" he said seriously, we were still chest to chest, even though he was much taller than me I looked at him menacingly, "you're the one who sucked his cock on the upper floors" he rolled his eyes and walked away, I immediately blushed; "WHAT?! WHAT DO I DO?!".

"Look, I want to trust Banban and Dr. Uthman, maybe you're a good assistant underneath,"
"I'm here because Banban told me to look for you, nothing more" I said sitting back in the chair,
"Understood, like him, I also want to stop this disaster, I'm not saying you have to trust me but at least let's try to get along, okay?" He held out his hand with the pliers;
"Cheat on me and I swear I will fill you with so much Givanium that you will explode, okay?" I said, he smiled slightly,
"Don't worry Miss Uthman."

"So all I have to do is look for Jumbo?",
"Yes, try not to get caught by Sr. Dadadoo, the city is lit so he shouldn't show up but" he shrugged "you can never be too far ahead",
"Understood, stop the slug and find the gorilla" he nodded,
"You understand quickly I see, be careful, The other monsters under Sr. Dadadoo's control may also attack you",

Finally I managed to enter that damned bar, I spoke to two aliens who told me to go outside, that someone had the information I needed.

"HI?" I said out loud as I walked out the door and found myself at the back of the bar,

"Sheriff" I smiled, "at least you're safe" he reciprocated with a weak smile,
"Look, I'm sorry if I thought you teamed up with BitterGiggle, I'm sorry if I left you alone,"
"Don't worry, that's not the problem now,"
"Right, I talked to the surgeon, he explained the situation to me" he stopped suddenly, "I'm sorry for your loss, if it's any consolation, he might still be alive" I looked down,
"Unfortunately I doubt it, but thanks for the comfort";
"So are we okay?",
"Sure Toadster."

(Y/n)'s Pov:

Walking around the city they told me to go to that building: had I met one of those...aliens? I'm not sure I can define them like that... oh well. He had told me to look for the origin of that annoying noise, a scream that I had also heard since I entered the building.

TIME SKIP

"It seems to come from here" I said as I reached the end of the stairs, I found myself in front of an alien staring at me and screaming in fear: "What's up?" I asked as I covered my ears, he stopped screaming and hid under the bed; "I haven't met anyone normal down here yet." A large black hand came out of the door scratching the wall, "I'm still hungry" said a high pitched but corrupted, all too familiar voice, a possessed BitterGiggle came out, it was tall, half open and seemed to be up to no good:
"Oh (Y/n), I missed you" he spoke to me,
"H-hey buddy" I took two steps backwards,
"Are you scared? Maybe now my jokes will really make you laugh" he said approaching, without thinking twice, after I noticed an emergency exit, I pushed him violently against the wall and started running as fast as I could.

"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME" he shouted after me, I ran in the red walled labyrinth, jumping from one building to another,
"YOU BELONG TO US NOW, DON'T OPPOSE" he shouted behind me, I reached the end of the path, he took me by the arm and pulled me towards him,
"Ready to join your beloved?" Churches approach me menacingly, "What a shame to kill you, you could have joined us, but now it's too late sweetie",
"(Y/N)!" I heard a voice behind me screaming, the sheriff was watching me from a nearby building, "BITTERGIGGLE LET HER GO NOW" the jester burst out laughing, "HOW LONG MY FRIEND? HAVE YOU MISSED ME?" I took advantage of his distraction, I crushed his foot and he let go of my arm; "YOU BITCH BITCH" I ran as fast as I could towards the last ramp, "SHERIFF" I yelled "TAKE ME" and jumped.

I closed my eyes, "(y/n) I'm here, don't worry", luckily he had caught me, he picked me up,
"run, it's not over yet" he motioned for me to run towards a room, the door closed behind me our:
"Are you OK?" He asked me worriedly,
"Good, now" I smiled slightly as I tried to come up for air,
"Thank you for saving me, stupid jester",
"WATCH OUT" the sheriff's arm moved me to the right as the door was kicked in and BitterGiggle came in angrier than ever, attacking my friend's throat.

"NOW YOU TIRED ME" I said as I approached the two of them, I took a Toadster star,
"What do you want to do?" He asked me in panic and worry, he threw the jester further away from us,
"What you should have done for a long time" having said this I took a few steps forward, looking at him with pure contempt and I threw a star straight at his heart; the creature looked at me with wide eyes, while a green splash came out of its chest, a few drops also landed on my cheek. "NO" the sheriff shouted from behind me, he pushed me away and approached his friend who was now back to normal,
"Stay with us, don't leave!" He took him in his arms, I watched him in disbelief from afar,
"Are you kidding? He tried to kill us" I said, slowly approaching,
"STAY AWAY YOU MONSTER" Toadster yelled, "YOU'VE EXAGERED, I WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT, WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?" He started crying, "You're the real monster here (Y/n)" the jester was struggling to breathe, the sheriff tried in every way to make him stay alive as long as possible; I was immobile, I no longer understood whether I had made the right choice or the wrong one.

"Wow, you really are the devil's offspring," he stood up and looked at me seriously. The jester had stopped breathing and lay motionless on the ground:

"Don't get me wrong, I don't mean Banban, I don't want to rub salt in the wound, I'm talking about Uthman. Now that you've lost your guide, you're driven by your goals and don't care about anyone else, you'd be willing to kill me if it meant bringing your beloved back: don't deny it."

"I'm not denying it, he's different from the real Adam, yes I'd do anything to have him back with me." I looked at him seriously, yes, now Banban was my only priority. "You are like that monster, cold and despicable, you don't care about us, but you know? we are alive too, I may not be human but I definitely have a bigger heart than yours (Y/n) (Y/s), actually (Y/n) Uthman sounds better, right doctor?"; we were far apart,

"I'm sorry Toadster, I hope someday you'll understand that I never wanted this to happen but, life is unfair." I turned and walked away.

(Y/n)'s Pov:

I had come down from the building, I was walking alone through the city while I thought about what I had just done, maybe I had exaggerated by killing him but, he could still be alive, after all I had seen that these monsters could withstand much more than a small blow to the heart.
I entered the city bar, all the aliens kept glaring at me but I didn't care:
"Do you have anything to say?" I said out loud to them, they turned around and pretended nothing had happened, I rolled my eyes and sat down at the counter,
"We don't accept humans here" said the bartender,
"I've been here so long, I don't think I am honestly" I laughed lightly without looking him in the eyes,
"What do you want?" He asked boredly,
"Where can I find some Givanium?" I asked, he looked at me confused,
"You can't, it's scarce in these areas, the mayor guards it obsessively, what use should it be to you?",
"Scientific studies" I just said.

TIME SKIP

Going to the bar was literally useless, I hadn't gotten any information; I sat on the side of the road, leaning my head against the wall and thinking.
Slowly my memories were coming back, I remembered everything that had happened, the old meetings with Case 6, my relationship with Uthman, all this was not good for my mental health; bringing Banban back to life was my only goal now, as many people as I wanted could be involved, I would have him back, even at the cost of losing my humanity.

"Maybe the sheriff is right" a light above me started to go off,
"maybe I really am the only monster down here" the light went off leaving me in that corner in the dark:
"I think so too" I heard a voice deep and low coming from the dark,
"What a pleasure to meet you here" said the voice,
"Oh no" I tried to get up to run towards the light but he was stronger than me, pinning me against the wall, with my hands on my head while he held my wrists.

"What do you want Dadadoo?",
"For you it's Sr. Dadadoo girl, you have a lot of nerve you know that?" He let me go and crossed his arms in front of me,
"I heard about BitterGiggle, great job" he said with a smile,
"I...I was wrong, I thought he would survive, other monsters have endured much more-" I tried to explain myself,
"Like your boyfriend? By the way, sorry about him, all those muscles didn't help much" he laughed,
"You're a monster" I said seriously,
"Look who's talking, Miss Uthman herself, please (y/n), you're the only one here who can't lecture me, you're just as evil as me" he crawled further away from me and turned his back to me,
"Why are you here? You don't seem so stupid, you have a reason" I said,
"You finally understand" he came back next to me; he was much taller than me, maybe even taller than Banban.

"I've been watching you for a long time, since you freed me" he brought his face closer to mine,
"you're intelligent, courageous, these things attract me quite a bit" he caressed my cheek with his gloved hand,
"Get to the point you stupid worm" I said anxiously as I tried to move away from him without success,

"Adam are you okay?" He looked at her nervously,

"These days you are so nervous love, are you sure that everything is ok? You can vent to me you know" she was always loving towards Uthman, he almost felt sorry to deceive her so much,
"(Y/n)" he sighed, "I have serious personal problems, I'll explain everything when I can, but now-" suddenly the alarm went off in the laboratory,
"CREATURE HAS ESCAPED, CREATURE HAS ESCAPED," the voice in the building repeated.
"SHIT" Uthman jumped up,

(Y/n) asked the monster who however wasn't looking at her, but stared at the woman who was slowly walking away while clenching her fists, (Y/n) instinctively moved away from him: "Adam?" The monster stood up growling, began to swell, to have more muscles and his party hair fell out, "stupid woman" growled the beast,
"Adam?" (Y/n) asked scared behind him, the monster in one fell swoop broke the glass and started chasing Miss Mason; (Y/n) followed him running, but not before retrieving her hair.

I woke up massaging my head, still completely aching: "Ouch" I mumbled under my breath as I sat up; I was apparently on a bed, in a small, dirty and gray cell.
I ran my hand through my (h/c) hair, now messy and ruined from too many days spent in that hole of the world.
"Finally you woke up prisoner" I looked up to find myself in front of an alien from Givanium, "My God, it disgusts me just to look at you human, did you really have to be put in the zone I was guarding?" I simply clenched my fists, because far too much had already happened.
"Go down the stairs and don’t think of making a wrong move, I’m watching you" I stood up, with trembling legs, and headed for the long and narrow corridor: around me, many aliens, all identical, some were fighting and others were still.
They made us leave the dormitory and sent us to create our cards, and then to work.
I slowly and weakly made my way to the control room that said "ID CARDS" at the entrance: the prison was dirty and gloomy, just like what I had gone through recently.
I entered the almost completely bare room: "sit there and look at the camera" said the alien sitting there; I climbed onto the small chair and silently stared at the camera lens, without even trying to smile.

"What happened? Wasn’t everything under control?" I asked,
"they sold me out" Dadadoo admitted in a low voice with his head down; "My God I hate you".
"Well well well" only then I looked in front of us; sheriff Toadster.
"What a pleasure to see you again (Y/n), you and your new friend thought you could escape so easily from MY prison. You know, I’ve been around criminals long enough to know that everything has a price, and in the case of your friend it only took a strawberry lollipop" I paled seeing the sheriff kneel in front of me.
"Toadster, let’s talk about this, please" a broken whisper escaped me,
"You had plenty of time to talk dear, ever since I met you my life has only gotten worse: BitterGiggle, the queen, the invasion of the Naughty-ones, all your fault, but now" he got up from in front of me and approached the alien who had sold us out; "justice will be done" he drove a star into his skull, and he collapsed to the ground instantly.
I, on my knees, crawled backward, "Toadster please, we are friends, please" he came in front of me,
"Friends? We haven’t been partners since you killed BitterGiggle (Y/n), I thought you understood that, but it seems Uthman didn’t choose you for your brains" he raised the star ready to strike me too; "goodbye, partner".
Suddenly a pick-up truck broke through a gate, driven by a Givanium alien: "LET’S GO, GET IN THE BACK" the prison alarm went off, I didn’t waste a second. I pushed Toadster and ran to the truck jumping into the back, I stood up to look at Dadadoo but he was already lying unconscious on the ground; "I hope you’re really dead this time" I whispered, "DRIVE" I shouted at the driver of the truck, who started instantly; "hold on, it’s my first time driving!".

I woke up after a loud crash, lying on the ground: I turned onto my back with a cough. "One of these days I’ll end up dead here" I said to myself, taking the chance to catch my breath; at least I had escaped from prison.

After a while I got up, luckily nothing was broken, the Givanium Banban had injected me with had really done something. I walked down the corridor until I reached a meeting table, with old computers and a blackboard with Banban written on it. It said: repurpose, 3 votes, persist, one vote, Syringeon’s; "stupid pink bastard."
Then I saw it, at the far end of the room there was an old wardrobe, tied shut with a rope: I got closer and ran my hand over it, saw the rope wrapped around the handles; I began to untie it, who knew what was in there to lock it so tightly.
When I finally managed to slip it off, I opened the doors to find myself in front of…the blue Banban I had seen on the wall; I took a step back involuntarily as he lifted his head to look at me.
He was sitting on the ground, his back against the wall, he looked at me confused: "hey, who are you? Are you playing with us? Sorry, this hiding place is already taken" I looked at him even more confused,
"What? Who are you?" I asked, but before I could get an answer, we heard loud noises nearby; someone was coming in our direction.
"Close it or they’ll find me! Find another hiding place!" the blue creature told me, I agreed right away without thinking twice and ran to crawl under the table; I put my hand over my mouth to stop whatever was coming from hearing me.
Then I heard heavy footsteps approaching, saw some feet…red: Banban walked past me, wounded from head to toe. I thought I was going crazy, I couldn’t see his face, only his back, slumped and probably in great pain: he got closer to the wardrobe and with his trembling hand opened the first door.
"Hey, it's been a while..." he said, the voice was the same; it was 100% my Banban.
I crawled out from under the table, he turned to look at me: "A-Adam?" We stared into each other’s eyes, both incredulous, as if we were dreaming. He wasn’t how I had left him: he was destroyed, practically covered in scars and still-open wounds, one eye missing, but it was still him, beneath all those scratches.
Then in an instant I ran to him, holding him tighter than I ever had and bursting into tears at once. He too hugged me back with the little strength he had, I felt him trembling under me: "(Y/n)? Is it really you?" He looked at me, I was a mess of tears, suddenly he smiled and held me tighter; "oh my God I can’t believe it."
I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him, without thinking twice, he kissed back immediately: it felt like an eternity had passed since I had last seen him, I still couldn’t believe we were together again, finally.
When he pulled back he brushed my cheek with his hand, "at least now I know my sacrifices weren’t in vain, I guess you have a lot to tell me" he said with a slight smile. "Oh you can’t imagine" I chuckled still through tears that he wiped away with his finger.
"What happened to you princess? I remember we were attacked, I protected you and then I woke up on a hospital bed",
"I followed what you told me, I went to the surgeon but-",
"Right, now he’s in charge, since when exactly? I absolutely need to talk to him as soon as I can, I hope you got along with him" I bit my tongue, it wasn’t the right time to tell the truth.

"Can you please open the wardrobe for me? I’m not in great shape" I immediately pulled away from him and obeyed; "I told you not to open it!" Replied the monster locked inside, "sorry buddy, he asks? I obey."
"It’s time to go, if I had known you were in here we would’ve found you a long time ago buddy" said Banban to the monster, he stood up confused: "6? Is that really you? Why are you so tall?" the blue creature stood up,
"6? What do you mean sorry?"
"There’s no time for jokes, did you reveal my location to 17? You’re cheating!";
"Did the wardrobe mess up your head?" asked Banban.
"You showed me this place, remember?",
"As you wish buddy, but now we need to go, I’ll take you both somewhere safe" Banban glanced at me with the corner of his working eye: "will we be safe from 17?" asked the blue one,
"Yes…definitely… let’s go now" said Banban, who was getting a little tired of hearing this.

Banban started walking ahead of us, the blue one came up next to me: "Nice to meet you, I’m 6C, and you are? You weren’t playing with us at the beginning but ok, I get there are latecomers in games" I frowned at him as he held out his hand, "I’m (Y/n), nice to meet you" I was slightly confused,
"(Y/n), what a particular name, no one has ever mentioned you until now, are you a new experiment?" He asked many questions but I didn’t sense malice behind them; "Hey buddy, she’s my girlfriend, show some respect please" said Banban in front of us without turning around.
"Wow, 6 really? You nailed it!" He smiled brightly and I blushed: we arrived in a hall, it reminded me of the train station of the queen’s kingdom.
When the train arrived, the blue one got in on the left: "Ladies first" Banban turned giving me a wink, "you never change, no matter what happens to you" I moved to step past him. He lifted me bridal style with his good arm while I held onto his neck with one arm and carried me onto the train: "put me down, you’re already hurt, do you want to make it worse?" He kissed my forehead, "for you, anything darling" and set me down; I leaned against the center of the train and crossed my arms.
"So, Syringeon said you allied with him to defeat Dadadoo using Josh, correct?" Banban asked, I nodded a little bitterly,
"Wow, sounds like a scene out of a movie, so what happened to those two? I’ve got so many questions",
"They’re in prison, where I was too..." I admitted, "what?" Before he could finish the sentence, the train braked hard.
"What’s happening?" asked the blue one as the lights went out and the screen in front of me turned on, revealing Syringeon’s face; I sighed.
"Attention you splendid creatures inhabiting my kingdom: a very dangerous human is loose on our streets. Her head has a bounty of 10 lollipops, bring her to me at all costs, dead or alive" I clenched my fists staring at the screen, "I know you’re out there (Y/n), you won’t escape me" he looked at me as if he knew exactly where I was; I could feel Banban’s confusion near me.
"A recovery team has already been sent to help restore peace, anyone who helps her or becomes an accomplice will be prosecuted along with her. Don’t believe anything she says, she is a LIAR! Have a good day, Father out" I punched the screen hard enough to leave a mark and shatter the center of it; my knuckles bled, I shook my hand.
"Cool" said the blue one.
"(Y/N)! ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Banban grabbed my hand, "Relax Adam, 5 minutes and it regenerates" he looked at me confused, then looked at my hand; I saw his eye widen, he realized his experiments on me were working now.
"They’ve done worse to me" I crossed my arms, "why is he after you? Weren’t you working together? (Y/n) what haven’t you told me?" Banban insisted, I avoided his gaze; "I’ll explain everything, but not now."
Banban knelt in front of me, "you know I trust you but really, we need to talk later, ok darling? If Syringeon finds you alone he’ll kill you, I know him well, I’ll convince him that everything you did is just a misunderstanding, you’ll come with us, I’ll talk to him and fix everything, trust me" I looked at him, "why do you take for granted that I did something?" I saw him panic,
"Well… I know Syringeon well, he would never lie to me" I saw a shadow cross his face, even he wasn’t convinced of what he was saying.

Our journey continued, Banban never stopped holding my hand, as if he wanted to make sure I wouldn’t run away again.
“The next stop is ours,” he said as the train began to slow down gently.
“Wow, I’ve never seen this part of the structure, it’s beautiful,” said 6C, pressing against the glass.

The doors opened slowly, and there he was, standing between two tall aliens with blank expressions: Syringeon.
He walked toward us slowly, with that stride that reeked of absolute control. His eyes locked onto me immediately; he faked a smile that looked hospitable, almost cheerful.
“Uthman, I knew I could trust you, already back… and in good company, I see.” He looked at me while I held Banban’s hand, his gaze venomous, sharp as a blade against the throat.

“Syringeon, can we talk about this? I don’t know what happened but you understand” he lifted our joined hands, “oh yes, I can see that, dear. I already know, it was one of the first things (Y/n) told me when we first met. 6C, it’s been a long time, what a pleasure to have you back among us.” He looked at our new friend, who smiled in return.
“Hi, thank you for offering me a safer hideout, Syringeon, right?” he said innocently.
“Father will do as well. Anyway, shall we?” He spread his arm to invite us in; Banban and 6C stepped forward, but I stayed rooted to the ground staring at him. Banban noticed.

“Love, let’s go.”
“Yes (Y/n), let’s go, we’re friends,” hissed Syringeon.
“Yes… friends,” I whispered.

The structure was truly enormous, much larger than what he would ever actually need. The comforts there were all human things no one inside needed. They were there simply to make him feel stronger. Comfortable chairs, a TV, a mirror, a table with fake food. He lived like a king up here, while we rotted below, treated like beasts.

“Welcome to my humble abode, you’re free to wander as much as you like.”
6C’s eyes lit up. “If that’s the case, see you in a couple of hours!” He waved at us before vanishing out the door.

“Uthman, how are the wounds?” Syringeon knelt in front of Banban.
“I’m a little better.”
“If you need, I had some more painkillers brought in. They don’t last long, but I think they might help you.” At that moment they almost looked like father and son, and that only made me feel worse. Banban nodded, then looked at me.
“Come?” he said, extending his hand, but Syringeon stepped up beside me, placing his hand on my shoulder.
“Go on, Uthman. The young lady and I have things to discuss.”

Banban seemed intimidated, almost sad, but lowered his head and obeyed.

BANBAN’S POV:

“They’re hiding something big from you.”
“As if I hadn’t noticed.”
“If you lose her, the next pancreas I eat will be yours, doctor.”

(Y/N)’s POV:

As soon as the door shut behind Banban, I broke free from Syringeon’s grip.
“You know…” he began, then grabbed me by the neck with his claw-like hand and lifted me, pinning me against the wall.
“I didn’t think you’d make it out of prison alive, but I heard about your little deal with Doo.”

I kicked him in the chest, but it did nothing.
“We’re almost indestructible (Y/n), I’m more and more surprised by how stupid you are.”

“Let me go now, Four.” I tried to fight free uselessly, then suddenly he let go, and I fell to the floor gasping for air.
“You used me and abandoned me, what kind of treatment did you expect, huh? Tell me!” I got back up. “You’re not worth any more experiments down here, you’re all at the same level now.”
“Don’t you dare compare my genius to those beasts,” he snarled.
“If you’re so brilliant, why did you need to lock me in a cell to feel safe? I’m not just Uthman’s stupid whore, am I?”

He stood up with a wicked smile, then lunged at me, pinning me by the shoulders.
“You have no idea who you’re dealing with. Uthman believes everything that comes out of my mouth, he’s practically my son. Who do you have on your side?”
“He would always protect me.”
“No, doctor. All it takes is a single command from me, and you’re dead.”
“Then why don’t you kill me now?” I asked. He froze.
“Because if you do and he sees, your control over him crumbles, doesn’t it?” I pushed on.

He flew into a rage, lifted me, and threw me to the ground with a force that would probably have shattered the bones of anyone normal. I rubbed my back slightly before standing again.

“If we’re all at the same level, then you are too with all the Givanium running through your body.”
“I’m still human despite what happened to me,” even though I knew that wasn’t true.
“But you use it and abuse it, don’t you? You use it every time you get back up after a hit that would’ve killed anyone else. Every time your torn flesh regenerates. Every time you protect that useless Uthman, it’s thanks to my work that you manage it. I created that Givanium, it’s partly thanks to me you are what you are.” He walked toward me and cupped my face in his palm.
“Poor Uthman, I wonder if he’ll ever find someone who doesn’t lie to him.”

“I DON’T LIE!” I shoved him away. “TOUCH ME AGAIN AND I SWEAR—”
“Swear what, darling?” In an instant, he appeared behind me, lifting me and dragging me toward the mirror in the room.
“Look at yourself, look at what you’ve become. Ruthless, violent, angry, all because of me, isn’t it? You want to blame me and dodge your own responsibilities? Cute.”

I struggled but it was useless. He ripped the sleeve hiding the branded tattoo that still burned on my shoulder.
“I wonder how Uthman will react when he notices this on you. He’ll surely think the worst.” He shoved me to the ground. “Get out of my sight.”

I got up without saying a word, dirty inside and out, and started walking down the hallway—until I ran into Banban. When he saw me, he rushed over.
“Hey (Y/n), I found some showers, want to clean up a bit?”

I smiled faintly. He looked at me, confused, then panicked.
“I’m not saying you stink, just that you’re a mess, look at yourself you’re terrible—NO WAIT THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEAN—”

I kissed him.
“It’s okay, I know what you mean. And yes, you’re right.”
He smiled at me and took my hand.

Another huge room no one actually needed.
“I’ll get you something clean, I’ll be right back,” Banban said before disappearing, leaving me alone in the bathroom.

It looked more like a prison bathroom, at least five showers all lined up. I left my clothes on a sink and stepped into the shower.

I ran my fingers through my hair as I felt the water running down on me: calling it water was an exaggeration, it was more like a mix between water and givanium. But it didn’t matter, the important thing was to look a bit more presentable and decent.
My thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock.
“(Y/n)… I found something for you. Can I come in?” Banban,
“Yes, come in.”
The door opened and Banban appeared, holding a neatly folded pile of clean clothes. He stayed on the threshold for a few seconds, trying not to look at me, slightly green in the face:
“Want to look?” I joked. He only blushed even more and came closer, handing me a bathrobe.
I took it and covered myself, “you can leave the rest on the sink,” I said as I stepped out of the shower. I walked up to him and made him turn toward me: “well hello handsome,” I teased, he lowered his gaze as I giggled.
“There’s a part of me that would like to look,” he admitted.
“Adam, we’re together and I’m covered, it’s fine.” I cupped his face in my hands and kissed his forehead; “you’re so sweet.”
“Well, if you put it that way…” he leaned closer and hugged me, giving me a few kisses on the neck.
“Hey, that tickles,stop” I laughed.
“Never, I missed you too much, love,” he chuckled too, then froze; “(y/n)?”
“Yes?”
“What’s on your neck?”

I pulled away, I had completely forgotten about Dadadoo’s bite scar. But he pulled me back, sliding down the robe from my shoulder to see it better.
“(Y/n), who the hell was it?” he said firmly.
“It’s a really funny story, you know? Do you want the short or the long version?” I tried to lighten the mood, but his grip on me only tightened.
“The one where you tell me who I need to butcher.”
“Let’s just say… Dadadoo fell in love with me, tried to put his hands on me and bit me. Syringeon examined me when he helped me, and that’s when we discovered my regenerative abilities.” He looked at me seriously. “I swear, when I see him again, I’ll tear him apart.”

“Anyway Adam,” I grabbed the clothes he had brought me, “how are you?”
“Since I found you, much better, but I’ve taken a lot of low blows,” he rolled his eyes.
“The voice?” I pointed at my head, talking about the demon.
“He’s fine, he’s happy to see you, but in these conditions I have no control, and it would be dangerous to let him out.”

I examined the clothes he had brought me: a high-neck bodysuit and black jeans. Where the hell did these come from?
“Adam? Where did this stuff come from?” I asked, confused. He shrugged. “I don’t know, I asked Syringeon and he pulled these out, nice of him.” He smiled naively, and I sighed.
“Do you want to leave, or are you staying here while I get dressed?” I asked. He smiled and leaned against the wall, “if I leave now, he’ll never forgive me,” Banban said. I smiled; shame I couldn’t see Hellish for a while.

I began to remove the bathrobe.
“(Y/n), how long have you had that?” He pointed at my arm where the brand mark was. I put a hand over it to cover it: “it’s nothing.” He came closer and pulled my hand away.
“This is Syringeon’s mark, why do you have it?” I sighed and let my hand fall as he looked at me, confused.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about him, Adam.”
“Impossible, I’ve known him my whole life,” he sounded convinced.
“You two seem very close,” I said as I slipped on the bodysuit.
“We are, mostly because he’s strong and confident, we’ve worked together for as long as I can remember, I trust him.”

I pulled on the jeans. The clothes fit me frighteningly well.
“Adam, he used me, and when he no longer needed me, he locked me up with the others. That’s where he branded me. I fought in every way I could.” I looked at myself in the mirror above the sink. “I hate what I’ve become since I’ve been down here, and I hate that he enjoys watching me suffer.” I gripped the sink tightly. “I really wish I could see him dead—”
“HEY,” Banban stopped me, making me turn, “I won’t allow that, (Y/n), that’s excessive.” He looked at me seriously.
“You did something to make him angry, trust me, he’s not like that.”

I looked at him, discouraged by the fact that he didn’t believe me. “It’s not my job to force you to believe me, Adam, but please be careful.”
“Mr. Uthman,” an alien knocked on the door, “the anesthetic is ready.” I looked at Ban.
“Go ahead, love.” I kissed his cheek. “I’m sorry if—”
“Don’t apologize,” he cut me off.
“You’re right, it’s not your job to convince me, but thank you for expressing your concerns, even if they’re a little crazy.” He tapped me on the head. “Who knows what a mess has been created in there.” He chuckled.

I watched him leave, still a bit shaken. Then I sighed and went to leave the bathroom,then, a blow to the head made me fall to the ground.
“In theory, a hit that strong would put anyone down.” I heard Syringeon’s voice. He lifted me up by the back of my shirt and looked me in the face.
“Bastard…” I whispered before losing consciousness.
“Goodnight, dear.”

TIME SKIP

I woke up with something touching my hand. “What’s going on?” I mumbled, looking around. I tried to move but I was tied to a stretcher.
“Wake up, wake up, no time to waste,” 6C’s voice close to me. I looked at him: he was terrified.
“What happened?!” I asked while desperately trying to free myself.
“The surgeon dragged me here and tied me up, he said he’d use my parts for something, I didn’t understand. Then he brought you here, carrying you because you were unconscious, he said something about you I couldn’t catch.” 6C explained as I struggled to break free.

“All that stupid know-it-all’s fault.” I fiddled with the restraints to free my other hand.
“Yeah, he said something similar about you too,”

“Not surprising.”

“Damn it… one, two, three” I pulled my hand so hard I thought it would rip off. A sharp pain and a loud crack shot through me.
“Oh my God, are you okay?” Flumbo asked.
“Yes, I think it’ll fix itself.” Despite the pain, I managed to free myself.

Finally, sat up, and untied my legs. I stood up and turned to Flumbo. “I’ll get you out of here.” As soon as I undid his straps, he sat up.
“Thank you (Y/n), but what’s wrong with that guy?”
“More than you think. Now let’s go before—”
“Don’t worry Uthman, recycling is necessary. He’s been purposeless since he disappeared, let’s give him a reason to live, agreed?” Shit.

I ran toward the edge of the room, where the giant worm monster was. “Zolphius, right? Help us please.” The beast looked at us without saying a word.
“Well well,” we heard Syringeon’s voice behind us. He was with Banban, who looked at the scene confused.
“Adam, stay away from him!” I tried to run to him, but 6C grabbed my wrist and pushed me behind him.
“Hey, don’t touch her, and come sit down, now,” Banban said.
“Uthman, I told you this whole relationship thing would just be a problem. You, blue, come here, we just want to explain the rules of our new game. (Y/n), don’t you want to play with us?”
“I swear when I get my hands on you-” 6C kept me behind him. I held my wrist, still aching, and Syringeon noticed.
“Oh, again? Do you like abusing your so-called new powers? We didn’t think you’d be so reckless, or maybe I did?” He put an arm around Banban.
“What do you mean?” Banban looked confused.
“Uthman, do you think she sat idle while you weren’t around? She served me like the good girl she is, when she obeys.”
“HE’S LYING, HE’S LYING!” I screamed.
“I’m not. Shall we ask a witness? Let’s call BitterGiggle then… oh no, she killed him for me.” Banban looked at me, shocked.
“ADAM PLEASE DON’T BELIEVE THEM, I BEG YOU.” I broke into tears. “IT WAS AN ACCIDENT.” Banban stood frozen, speechless.
“Well, this farce has gone on long enough,” Syringeon stepped forward. “6C, sit back down. (Y/n), come here.”
“No, you want to trick me, you want me to lose the game!” 6C shouted. The three of us looked at him, confused.
“What?” Syringeon asked.
“I won’t lose. You know, surgeon, I never lose. I disappear.” 6C wrapped an arm around my waist. Banban tried to come closer, but Syringeon stopped him.
“Trust me.” And he threw himself along with me.

BANBAN’S POV:

“(Y/N)!” I rushed forward, only to see them both devoured by Zolphius. I fell to my knees at the edge, clawing at the ground. “Why? Why does everything always tear us apart?!” I screamed as I felt the surgeon’s footsteps approaching me before he patted my shoulder.
“I told you, boy, you can’t trust women, especially her.” I looked at him for the first time with different eyes. (Y/n) had planted doubt in me about him…
“I trust OUR girlfriend more, doctor. But if you want to be stupid, go ahead.”

Chapter Text

When I woke up, I was alone inside a hut. After I recovered and made sure my wrist was fine, I went out and started looking for someone.

“Oh, you’re awake,” a tall alien told me. “The king wanted to talk to you,” he said before starting to walk toward another hut.
“King, here’s the girl.” Inside was an old tall alien with a belly.
“Thank you, you may go now.”
“We’re inside Zolphius?” I asked. He nodded.
“Yes, the beast protects us. Pleased to meet you, I’m the elder, I rule over this village.”
I smiled at him.
“(Y/n) Uthman, nice to meet you.” He turned pale and I noticed it.
“No no, relax, I come in peace. I’m just Banban’s fiancée.” He looked at me suspiciously.
“You’re with the surgeon?”
I burst out laughing. “Never.”
He relaxed. “Thank goodness. Anyway, you fell here and we rescued you.”
“Right, where’s 6C?” I asked. He looked confused.
“You mean Flumbo, right?” I stared at him.
“Mnh…” I didn’t answer.
“Follow me.”

The elder chief brought me to the center of the village. There was a cell with 6C locked inside.
“(Y/n), help me, please,” he looked so sad. I approached the cage and looked at the old alien.
“Can you let him go, please? He came out of a closet just a few hours ago.”
“I can’t, unfortunately. After your arrival the village burned, and we believe he’s the one responsible.” 6C leaned on the bars.
“What?! That’s not true!”
The cell opened. Both he and I looked at the old man, confused.
“We didn’t have a working cage,” he admitted with a sigh.

“Fine, we’re leaving,” I said, taking 6C by the hand and pulling him out of the cell.
“No, wait, please,” said the king “Please, help us. Our village keeps burning, we just want to understand why.” 6C and I exchanged looks.
I sighed. “Okay, I’ll help you. Just tell me where I need to go.”
He smiled brightly. “Thank you, thank you so much. We’ll be in your debt if you solve this problem.” He walked past us.
“Do you think this was a good idea?” I asked 6C.
“They seem kind. We’re doing a good deed.”
“Dude, they literally imprisoned you for no reason.”
He shrugged. “Things happen.”
I looked at him, confused. Despite being similar to Banban, their personalities were COMPLETELY opposite.

The old king brought us to an abandoned part of the village.
“See if you can find anything around,” he told me. I nodded and looked at 6C.
“Stay here for a bit, I’ve seen things, I can handle myself.”

Walking among vines and weeds, I finally reached an isolated area, like a cave.
“It’s a den,” I said. In that moment, a creature broke through the wall.

It looked like a dog. I couldn’t tell if it was black or green. It held a torch in its front paw; around its neck, a big colorful collar…

MEANWHILE, WITH BANBAN

“Do you think she’ll get out of there?”
“Of course she will, doctor. She's smart, unlike you, and then, nothing has ever defeated her."
“I know, but Zolphius is huge. We don’t know how long it’ll take.” I sighed.
“You’re doubting his words too now, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” I admitted. “But why would he lie? Especially to me. We’re colleagues.”
"maybe he likes her and doesn't want to see us together?"
“Demon, you remember he had a relationship with Dadadoo, right?”

My thoughts were interrupted by Syringeon entering the room.
He sighed as he leaned on a medical table.
“Syringeon, can we talk?” I asked. He glared at me.
“What is it, Uthman?”
“Why do we need 6C? He’s not a threat. Actually, he seems pretty stupid and easy to manipulate. Why do you want him?” He turned to look at me.
“I told you, I need parts of his body for one of my experiments.”
“Which one? I never gave you permission to create more creatures,” I frowned.
“Trust me, Uthman, things are already going badly enough. No need for you to get worked up.” I rolled my eyes.
“(Y/n) would know what to do,” I muttered.
“Don’t mention that cheap whore. She may be your girlfriend, but I won’t hide that I’d pay to see her head served on a silver platter.”

I stood up, very annoyed.
“Excuse me? Case 4, lower your head. Why do you hate her so much?”
“You really want to know? Because she does the exact opposite of what I say. She’s stubborn, annoying, doesn’t respect my authority, She would die for you, all for her stupid and insignificant feelings, if it were up to me I would have killed her when I saw her for the first time” He turned and came closer to me.
“You’re a genius, you listen to me, you appreciate me. Working with you is easy. I really don’t understand why, of all the girls in the world, you chose her.”
I blushed. “She’s kind to me. She always helps me. She’d never hurt me.”
“Please, SHE’S A WOMAN.” (please catch the reference)

SKIP TIME

(Y/N)’s POV:

The creature collapsed to the ground, exhausted, and I finally caught my breath.
“Did you do it?” I heard the old man’s voice coming from outside.
“Yes, I hope it’s dead,” I replied.
“Thank you so much, you were amazing.”

He brought us back to the village.
“You’re so strong, (Y/n). I get why 6 has a crush on you,” 6C said, smiling like a child. I blushed.
“I haven’t always been like this, 6C. By the way, why do you keep calling him 6?”

The elder stopped when we reached the square and looked at me.
“Why do you keep calling him 6C instead?”
We both stared at him, confused.
“What do you mean? I’m 6C,” he said.
The old king shook his head.
“No, your name is Flumbo. Follow me.”

He approached the family mural. I hadn’t noticed it before, but in the center, where Banban should have been, there was 6C.

“They replaced you, Flumbo. You were supposed to be the center of the kindergarten. One day you disappeared, and Banban took your place. The scientists stopped looking for you, and you were left in the shadows.”

I stepped closer to Flumbo, who stared at the wall, shocked and confused.
“How did this happen? Why?” he asked.
“No one knows for sure. But we all ended up down here when we started doubting father. He’s always been very influential in the experiments, and it was made clear many times that he had his favorites.”

Flumbo stood there motionless. I held his hand.
“I’m sorry, kid,” the old king concluded.

“Give me a minute,” he pulled away from me to leave.
I sighed.
“(Y/n), you have a visitor in your tent. I think it will cheer you up,” the old man said. I knew immediately who it was, the only one who, no matter how much I wanted to get rid of him, always came back.
“I’ll go right away.”

When I arrived, I opened the door slowly.
“Hey, Stinger.” I smiled at the little jellyfish sitting on the ground.
“As soon as I heard you had disappeared, it was clear to me Syringeon had thrown you away like all his other mistakes.”

I sat beside him.
“So, you know the truth now?”
“Yeah, and Flumbo does too. I think it’ll take him a while to process it though.” Stinger rolled his eye.
“Let’s leave him alone for a while. He’s been through a lot. Let’s hope he doesn’t blame Banban, though.”
I looked at him, confused.
“You’re defending him?” I asked.
“Sort of. He’s a pawn. Manipulating him was child’s play for Syringeon. He’s been doing it since Banban was a kid.”
I turned to look at him. “You have a lot to explain to me.”
“Want me to show you?”
“As always.”

Chapter Text

“So let me get this straight: Syringeon preferred Banban, so when the scientists decided to eliminate him and replace him with Flumbo, he locked him in a closet and faked his death.”

“Correct,” said Stinger.
“First the blame was pinned on this monster called Ramanba, then on a landslide supposedly caused by the same creature.”
“Yeah.”
“Wow, that’s a lot to take in.” I leaned on my hands as I sat cross-legged.

I sighed and stood up. “We should go anyway, don’t you think?” I offered him my hand, and he looked at me puzzled:
“What do you want exactly?” He frowned at me. “Do you want a ride? Since now you’re, how can I put it politely, a defenseless little pup?” He stretched and climbed up onto my shoulder, still grumpy.
“Good boy, let’s go save the world.”
“Fuck you.”

But when we stepped outside, we realized the entire village was on fire. The king quickly called us over:
“The beast is still alive and it’s taking revenge. You must go.” Flumbo was already standing near him, silent.
“And you? You can’t stay here, you’ll die!” I said.
“We’ll help you escape. A king dies with his village,” he sighed. “We ended up here because we knew too much, but our knowledge won’t die with us.” The king handed me a small vhs.
“What’s this?”
“Show it to Banban. Don’t lose it under any circumstances, or it will be the end for everyone.” I nodded, holding it tight before slipping it into my pocket.

All the villagers had formed a kind of human ladder, which the three of us began to climb together: Stinger and I in front, and Flumbo strangely silent behind us.

TIME SKIP

When we finally reached the top, I caught my breath and Stinger climbed down from me. It seemed like we were back in Cytingeon.
I walked up to Flumbo, who had his back turned, staring at a door.
“Hey, how are you?” I asked. He turned around, smiling.
“Thanks for what you’re doing for me.”
“No problem? I mean… how’s everything else?”
“Well… we’re not playing hide and seek anymore, that’s clear enough. As for the rest… it’ll take me some time to process.” He let out a nervous laugh. I stepped closer and hugged him in silence.
“What is this? 8 did the same before the snake showed up.”
“It’s called a hug, Flumbo. You give it to people when you think they’re not doing well, when they might need support.” I felt him relax and return the gesture.
“It’s nice. So if I wanted to give it to someone else even if I know they’re fine?”
“You can still do it.”
“Yippee!”

“(Y/n)?” Stinger called me while I had my back turned. I pulled away from Flumbo.
“What do you want?” I turned and looked up: another screen.

“Attention, all the beautiful citizen of my facility: the human is still at large. The bounty on her head has now risen to 12 lollipops.” Syringeon’s face appeared clearly on the screen. I looked at him with my arms crossed.
“And as for you, blue fugitive, don’t think you can run far. I’ve got something that will bring you straight to me.” Banbaleena appeared on the screen. "Oh, I haven’t seen her in a while", I thought.

“The one closest to you, the one you love with all your big, stupid heart.”

“Seven! LET HER GO! DON’T HURT HER!” Flumbo shouted, as if the surgeon could hear us.
“For now she’s still breathing, but I might change that any second. Now, both of you, you will come to me. I am TIRED of playing games!” His voice thundered through the area. “Meet me at the Secondary Vat Bay. Tik-tok, kids, the clock is ticking… have a great day. Father, out!” The call cut, and I could almost feel his smile as he spoke the last words.

“We have to go! Now!” Flumbo panicked. “I can’t let him hurt her!”
Stinger and I looked at him. “Wow, and here I thought you were the only one falling for hideous creatures,” Stinger whispered to me, making sure Flumbo couldn’t hear.
“(Y/n), please help me,” Flumbo looked at me, eyes glassy. I nodded. “Count on me. And on Stinger Flynn too.”
“No, no, no. I’m done. I’m going on alone from here,” the jellyfish added.
“Come on, you really want to leave us?” I asked.
“Yes, and I hope I don’t see your face for a while.” The usual.

TIME SKIP

“Never thought I’d be going to save her of all people,” I said as we walked.
“You’ve met her? What’s she like?”
“Awful, Flumbo. Terrible.” He laughed.
“To me she’s beautiful. She has beautiful eyes, she’s smart, and then that smile…” I looked at him, those same lovestruck eyes Banban used to give me.
“You’re really in love with her,” I chuckled.
“Yes, I think that’s what I’d call it.” He blushed a faint green. “It’s the same thing you feel for 6, right? That warmth inside, the happiness, that urge to hug him.” He was so innocent. I smiled and nodded.
“You and 6 look good together. I’ve only known you for a short while, and apparently I don’t know 6 very well. But your connection is obvious.” I looked at him.
“You really think so?”
“Of course. I never lie. Father is evil for wanting to separate you.”

We reached a room with two corridors and big floor buttons.
“I know these mechanisms. Step on the other button, then I’ll follow you,” Flumbo said. I ran to the other side. When he tried to pass, the gate collapsed, trapping us apart.
“Don’t worry, I’ll find another exit,” Flumbo said, running off in the opposite direction. Great. Alone again.

I took a few steps forward, when suddenly I heard a voice:
“Love?” My blood ran cold. It was Uthman’s voice. The real one…

TIME SKIP

BANBAN’S POV

“Are you sure they’ll come?” I asked, passing near the bed where Miss Mason lay unconscious, sedated.
“Of course. Flumbo goes crazy for her, just like (Y/n) goes crazy for you. Two perfect baits.”

The demon inside me had been thrashing and raging for so long, too long. It was probably written all over my face.
“Lighten up, I was kidding. You’ve gotten boring, Uthman. You weren’t like this before.”

TIME SKIP

(Y/N)’s POV

Running. Again.
This time from a bear-shaped monster that kept repeating random sentences. The worst part? Among the talking monsters, there was Uthman too.

“(Y/N), OVER HERE!” Suddenly Flumbo called me from around the corner. I threw myself his way. At the edge of the doorway I spotted a button, rushed over and slammed it. The gate fell just as the monster tried to follow, decapitating it instantly. I gasped for air and collapsed to my knees.

“If anyone asks, it was you,” Flumbo said as he helped me up.
“Yeah, sure. BitterGiggle is already on my conscience, might as well add her too.”

As we talked, I heard footsteps approaching the barred door nearby.
The fire monster from earlier.
“Look at you, with your stupid ears and your human friend. You think you’re better than us? YOU’RE NOT.” The dog growled.
“We’re better simply because we’re fighting a cruel, twisted ruler instead of supporting him like you do,” I said firmly.
“You… you make it sound simple, woman. You know what this is?” He pointed to the collar. “You know what it does if we disobey? Boom, baby—and we’re dead. Now, in my case it doesn’t matter, because I’m with Father willingly. But if it were otherwise, you’d be doomed too.” He chuckled darkly. “I’ll be back. No one escapes my fire…” Then he vanished into the shadows.
“What was that about?” Flumbo asked.
“I don’t know, but it gave me chills. Let’s hurry—I want to get out of here as fast as possible.”

Chapter Text

As we climbed the stairs together, I ran my fingers over the VHS tape the old king of the village had given me: "What do you think it contains?" Flumbo asked.

"I have no idea." We reached a floor with an elevator. "But if it can bring Ban to our side, it means it's something Syringeon doesn't want or doesn't approve of." My eyes fell on a half-hidden box.

I bent down to check it: just a pile of papers, nothing useful, except that among the mess, there was an identical tape.
"Flumbo," I stood up, "take this one." I handed him the real VHS.
"What's the point of having two tapes? Especially when only one is the right one," he asked.
"Trust me, it'll come in handy."

We reached the elevator. I sat on the floor while he stared at the wall.
"I was really replaced, and of all people, by 6, the one I trusted the most."
I hadn't even noticed the mural behind me; I'd seen it too many times already.
"This explains a lot." He sat down beside me.
"Hey, Flumbo, I'm convinced he didn't do it willingly."
"And how can you be so sure? You're in love with him, you'd defend him no matter what."
I put a hand on his shoulder.
"No. I'm sure because Banban doesn't know he's Banban."
He frowned. "Excuse me?"
"Banban doesn't identify as an experiment, but as the doctor who donated his genome for his creation. Now that I know more, I assume it was meant to help control the Hellish form."
He looked at me, puzzled. "So... 6 isn't 6?"
"Sort of. Call him Uthman if you care about your skin." I chuckled sadly, hugging my knees.
"You know, I'm with him because years ago I was engaged to that doctor, and he has his memories and his feelings."
He leaned his head on my shoulder.
"Then why aren't you with him?"
"When he no longer needed me, he nearly killed me. I won't lie, at first it was hard for me to trust Banban."

"Do you know anything about Father?" he asked after a moment of silence.
"Almost nothing. With me, he was always pretty cruel." I shrugged, not looking at him. Then suddenly he grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled close to me.
"Flumbo, are you okay?" He looked at me with big puppy eyes, his chin resting on me, while quietly crying.

"I don't get it. If me and 6 are so similar, why did he pull me out just to use my parts? Why him and not me? Shouldn't he care about me the same way?" He started crying in silence.
I immediately held him close, stroking him. "I'm sorry, Flumbo." He kept crying.
I stayed silent; I didn't know what to say. It was hard for me, too, to fully understand.

When we reached the top, I patted his shoulder.
"We're here. Come on, be brave. Your girl isn't going to save herself."
He wiped his tears with his hand and stood, forcing a smile.
"Neither will yours," he replied.

When we entered the warehouse, I immediately noticed the massive containers of Givanium, filled to the brim. We started climbing the stairs to the top floor of the structure. I saw Banban standing there, alone, with Banbaleena hanging.
"Adam!" I ran to him. "What is this?!" I shook him by the shoulders.
"7! I'll get you down from there!" Flumbo looked at Banbaleena, scanning around for a way to help her down.

"(Y/n), I can't do anything. You might as well surrender." He lowered his head. I lifted his chin.
"No way. You have to fight too. He can't win if the three of us are together."
He bit his cheek.
"I know you, Adam, and I know this behavior of yours isn't trust. You know something's wrong." I looked into his eyes.
"Together, like all the other stupid adventures we've faced so far, you and me, love, the two of us against the world."
I kissed him. He lifted me up, holding me tight, one hand in my hair pulling me closer, the other steady on my waist.

Then he looked at me. "So, love, are you with us?" I asked hopefully. He smiled.

"Very touching. Truly, very touching. I'm almost moved."
Syringeon's voice behind us interrupted.
I stepped in front of Banban, and Flumbo immediately backed up to stand near me.

"I knew you both would fall for it. Uthman, come here."
I saw Banban hesitate, then take small steps forward. I held my hand out in front of him.
"No, he stays with me," I protested. Then he leaned to my ear.
"Play along. We'll get out of here together." He pushed past me forcefully and moved in front of Syringeon. Once behind him, he gave me a slight smile; he trusted me.

"Just surrender, Flumbo. To keep it short, we need some of your parts. Only THEN I'll release your precious 7, unless we need to use her too."
"Let her go! Now I know the truth. You don't control me anymore, you kept me hidden too long!" Flumbo shot back.
"Are you so sure? All I have to do is press this button and you'll never see her again." He pulled out a remote.

"Funny you should say that, Surgy," I cut in, taking a few steps forward. "For such a manipulator and dictator here, you sure leave your weaknesses exposed, don't you?" I pulled out the tape.
"Leaving it unguarded? Not very smart of you." He went pale.
"You have no idea what you're talking about!" the surgeon tried to defend himself.
"Oh, but I do! Oh yes, I do! And all I need is this little VHS to turn your friend against you."
Banban looked confused.
"Give me the button, and maybe I'll agree to the exchange." I stared coldly into his eyes. He gripped the remote tighter.

Then he stepped forward. "Come here, Miss Uthman."

We cautiously closed the distance until we were a meter apart.
"Give me that button." I stretched my hand out.
"And this is yours." He stared at me.
"You're almost as strategic as he is... but there's something you don't know about me."

Suddenly, he lunged forward, pulling me against his chest. He wrapped an arm around my throat and fastened something around my neck.
"I've never lost since I was created."
He snatched the tape from my hands and threw it into the tank below us, then clicked the remote and dropped Banbaleena in there too. "It was easier than I thought," he tossed the now-useless remote away.

"NO!" I screamed, struggling to break free.
"(Y/n)!" Banban tried to come closer, but Syringeon lifted me into the air over the railing.
"One more step and she dies." Uthman froze and stepped back.

"You've really tired me out, (Y/n). Come into MY kingdom." Syringeon pulled out a syringe.
"You corrupt MY citizens?" He jabbed it into my arm, drawing while I screamed in pain.
"You destroy the trust between me and MY son? And you think you'll get away with it?!" He threw me to the floor.

When I looked up, I saw the syringe filled with Givanium; my Givanium.
"If you truly want to be superior to me, woman, then it's only right I take back what is rightfully MINE."
I was weak on the floor, struggling to rise to my knees.
"Syringeon, this is too much." Banban rushed to help me up.

Then I started smiling slightly. Syringeon noticed.
"What's so funny?" he asked, approaching.
"The fact that you think I'm that stupid." I stared at him. "FLUMBO, NOW."

Suddenly, the projector behind us lit up: the video was old, damaged, but still visible. Syringeon stood beside a small Banban, tied to a chair and unconscious.
"IT'S FAKE!" Syringeon shouted, rushing toward Banban and me. I clung to Banban while desperately trying to remove the collar Syringeon had strapped on me; the same one as the recovery squad.

The video played on, shock after shock. Banban watched it all, holding me tighter, his grip growing stronger, until he transformed. Syringeon ran out of frame. The video ended. He looked at us, searching for words.
"is it your fault if I'm like this?" Banban asked in a trembling voice.
"Why? WHY?!" He held me and stepped forward.
"Uthman, I can explain-" Syringeon tried.
"No, you can't! Do you have ANY idea how many problems you've caused me?! DON'T YOU GET IT?!" Banban advanced. I tried to pull him back.
"Adam, please, calm down!"
"Don't tell me to calm down, not now, (Y/n)" he shot back.

Syringeon's gaze flicked from me to Ban in an instant, then he grabbed my leg and yanked me upside down. Ban tried to resist, but it was so sudden I ended up with six deep cuts on my arm.

"YOU! WHORE! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!" I kicked him in the face. He pinned my back against the railing while Banban and Flumbo tried to stop him.
"Let her go! NOW!" Flumbo shouted.
"CASE 4, THAT'S AN ORDER!" Banban's voice carried the rage of Hellish.

Syringeon stared into my eyes, then smiled.
"You were warned. I've threatened you too many times. Now you're finished." With his third hand, he raised a button.
"Tell Bittergiggle that I say hi".

BANBAN'S POV:

Flumbo and I were blown back by the explosion.
"NO!" I stood, but it was too late: (Y/n)'s body dangled, then fell, hitting a Givanium container before crashing to the floor, lifeless.

"Well, now, dear Uthman, we can settle everything. Let me explain: when I did that to you, it was just by chance. I never thought you'd become my favorite experiment."

My mind clouded with rage. I rose, my fingers turning into claws...

A small Givanium explosion knocked Case 4 to the ground.
"Experiment...?" My foot slammed down, already transformed.
"YOU RUIN MY LIFE, YOU TAKE AWAY THE ONLY PERSON WHO EVER LOVED ME-" I grabbed him by the throat, staring into his eyes.
"AND YOU THINK YOUR EXCUSES CAN FIX ME?!"

He gave a weak smile. "I knew it would end like this. I just hoped this message would come later."

Without hesitation, I punched him so hard my fist pierced his chest. He spat Givanium in my face, and I licked it off.
"Shame I won't get to see the final phase."

I saw everything in his glassy eyes, then hurled him down below.

I clutched my head, glancing at (Y/n)'s lifeless body beneath us, replaying everything that had happened... quickly losing control.

FLUMBO'S POV:

Banban, now a beast, set his sights on (Y/n)'s body, ready to go down there. I stepped in front of him.
"6, I know you're angry, I am too." He growled in my face.
"You're not as flawed as they make you believe. This isn't a problem. And I'm not better than you."

It wasn't working at all, so I took a breath.
"But unlike you, I control the rage." I transformed as well, ready to fight with everything I had.

???'S POV:

The red one is definitely stronger, but the blue one is more precise. It was fascinating to watch. Then both of them fell into the tank below.

I rolled my eyes and stepped out of my hiding spot. Too bad—I thought they'd last longer.

I approached the girl's body and turned her over.
"The collar was defective. It should've reduced her to mush, but she's still here."

I picked her up.
"Maybe she'll still be useful."

Carrying her, I went back the way I came.
