A Feather Indulged In Flame (Discontinued)

Summary:

Y/n Todoroki. The Pro Hero known as Ōmikami and a perfect toy soldier for the Hero Public Safety Commission. The oldest child of the Todoroki siblings. Only by 10 minutes but as a twin those 10 minutes count.

Your twin brother Touya was announced as deceased when you were both younger. You decided to take his obsessive dream of being the top dog in the hero world and made it your own. For the both of you. But somewhere in your head you knew that he couldn't be dead. Call it Twintuition.
You and the Pro Hero Hawks now had the challenge of making your way into the dreaded League of Villains to break it open from the inside out.

But will seeing an emotionally familiar face turn you against the life you've worked harder than hell to have to join them? Will you have to do it on your own or will you drag everything burning with you. Including the Wing hero. Unless he's willing to go down by your side.

Notes:

Just a reupload of an old fic that I know some people wanted! If I decide to finish it I'll let y'all know but for now it's staying as it is!

Chapter 1: Yakitori with a view.

Chapter Text

"So!" A proud and confident voice spoke as the blonde man who possessed it sat back in his chair, chewing on the stick that held his Yakitori not a moment ago. "When does she get here? I'm pretty excited to meet another one of the Todoroki kids."

Endeavour glared over at him as he shovelled more of the skewered chicken into his mouth. "She should already be here by now." He informed.

The other nodded and looked out over the view of the city. "Well she's definitely not making a good first impression by being lat-"

"Let it go Hawks." The older man scolded as the door to the empty restaurant opened.

And in walked you.

Y/n Todoroki. The oldest Todoroki sibling.

The pro hero known as Ōmikami, the name being chosen after the Goddess of the sun; Amaterasu-Ōmikami. Your quirk was called Pyrokinesis-Manipulation. Basically a very fancy way of saying that you have the power to create and manipulate fire. Literally a mirror of your fathers.

You are also able to consume yourself in self made flames along with using whatever you make to your advantage in combat. Aside from creating your own fire you can also take and control other peoples E.g. Villains or other heroes. To be able to use your fire you need to consume a heavy amount of calories to use as fuel throughout your day to day life.

You walked over casually and took a seat next to Endeavour. "Hey." You greeted with a bright smile.

He glared at you for a moment. "You're late to this meeting and your opening line is, 'Hey'?" He growled.

You turned and looked up at him. “I had to help a few heroes on the way here with a criminal." You told him.

“I’m sure they had it under control. You had strict orders to turn up to this meeting on time, Y/n.” He scolded you a little.

Your smile faltered a little before you pushed it back up. “They asked for my assistance. As a hero it’s my job to help.” You reminded before turning to the blonde across the table.

He rolled his eyes at your exhausting and pointless selflessness. He raised an eyebrow as the fire coating the bottom of his face began to drift and sway into your direction.

He let out a growl. "Y/n. Cut it out." He warned.

Hawks watched as you moved your fingers smoothly, twisting the flames on the man next to you into a nice little swirl as you mindlessly played with them. "I've seen you work, kid. You've got spunk." He hummed, amused at your playful annoyance to your father.

"I'm not a kid. I'm older than you." You pointed out as you pushed out some gentle flames to smack against the plate in front of the flying hero, sending the last two sticks of Yakitori towards you. You took the now burning skewers and picked them up, not bothering to put them out before you began to eat the cooking chicken.

You would've laughed at the betrayal on the bird man's face if you didn't have a mouthful.

"Enough of the chatter." Endeavour interrupted. "Ōmikami. You are to work under Hawks, do you understand?" He ordered, watching as you sat back in your chair.

"What do you mean under him? He's not better than me." You burst a little defensively as you sat up again.

Endeavour and you shared a frighteningly familiar glare as you defied him once more. Where did he go so wrong with raising you? Well everywhere, His parenting methods aren't exactly ethical.

"You're going to be working for his agency. Which means that you're working under him. Whether you think that you're better or not." He huffed as he sat up more.

You raised an eyebrow at him. "I didn't say I was better, I just said that he wasn-"

"As much as I wish I could sit here and watch you two bicker. I’d like to take you out on a patrol." Hawks hummed, pointing at you. "And I think I'd like to get to know you better while we do it." He smiled charmingly.

You rolled your eyebrows at him, the corner of your lip twitching up into a slightly flirtatious smirk before you pushed it down. "That smile isn't gonna work on me, pretty boy. Fine. Let's go." You told him as you stood up.

He watched as you started to walk to the exit. He turned to Endeavour and gave a small grin. "She called me pretty." He teased.

The number 1 hero rolled his eyes. "Don't try anything." He ordered. "You're work partners. That's it. When I find out what I need, she's coming back to the Endeavour agency." He huffed.

"You won't need her when young Shouto gets out of school, you could just pass her on over to me now. Well, if she's as good as everyone says." He hummed before you beckoned for him to hurry up.

Endeavour scoffed. He had two useful children so far. Shouto was his prized possession. But when you became so determined to be a hero, whether he liked it or not he decided that there was no way in hell he was going to let you go to another hero company, even if he didn’t train you the way he’s trained the youngest.

“Go.”

Hawks grinned and strolled out behind you.

He watched you as you walked. You had a tall proud stride. Your hips always had a slight flick and you held your head up high.

Unlike him on the other hand. He walked a little quicker, his posture tended to be more slouched and he normally had his hands in his pockets with a lazy smile plastering his lips.

"Good to actually meet you Ōmikami. I've seen a bunch of your work." He started.

You turned to look over at him. "Yeah?" You questioned, your stature relaxing once again while out of range from the number 1 asshole.

He nodded. "Yeah, When my good buddy Endeavour suggested this idea, he said I could take anyone from his agency to switch, I went over all of them and you stuck out the most." He spoke calmly.

You adjusted your skin tight costume and looked back at him. "Why?" You scoffed.

"You're his kid. Duh.” He teased. “And the number 4 pro hero. And by the looks of things, with the way you move and the work you do, you're gonna be moving up quickly. All the way to 4 by the time you're 21? That's impressive." He complimented.

You tensed. Not quite understanding the compliment, taking it more in a taunting tone from the naturally cocky man. "It's not good enough. Dad was number 2 by the time he was 20." You huffed, balling your fists up at your sides a little.

He looked over at you for a moment. “You were in the top 10 by the time you were 18, just like me. That’s an incredible accomplishment as it is. Endeavour has a hell of a lot of determination and practice behind him.”

"You think that I haven't practiced? And that I don't have determination?" You snarled a little with a sharp glare, one that looked increasingly like Enji’s.

Hawks kept his composure as the feature was brought to his attention. "Cool it ya little blast furnace." He brushed off as he looked around. "You're getting worked up over nothing. Definitely a Todoroki." He chuckled.

You clenched your jaw a little. "Whatever." You calmed down a little, being unable to fight the laid back demeanour of the other.

"Although, you’ve never advertised yourself as one of Endeavor's kids. Why is that? Do you know how much faster you could’ve climbed if you used that to your advantage?"

"I can make a name for myself." You told him, your words filled with determination.

He nodded. "That's admirable I guess." He sighed as he smiled at a few passing fans. “So if you can make a name for yourself, why join his agency?”

“I didn’t have a choice. The Heroes commission made me. Since they’re kissing daddy’s boots he managed to get me there.” You informed. “Plus, he finally got off my back once I joined. Instead of nagging me to come to his agency, now he nags me to overwork.” You told him.

He hummed as he turned back to you, walking once more. "You seem pretty on the fence with your dad." He commented.

You looked at him through the corner of your eye and continued to walk. "Hm." You barely answered. "So what exactly is this idea you and Endeavour talked about?" You questioned, changing the subject quickly.

"He hasn't told you?" He asked with a mouthful, earning a head shake from you. "Basically, you're gonna be my sidekick." He shortened.

Your eye twitched a little. "You're fucking kidding me right?"

"Woah Woah, watch your language in front of the fans." He tried to calm a little. "I'm not gonna treat you like any different of a hero. You're still gonna be working hard. After all, if we want time to slack off, we gotta make sure that we work hard to get it."

You clicked your jaw a little and rubbed just behind your ear to ease the stress from clenching.

He could see the stress practically radiating off of you. Or was that the heat from your quirk? Either way, he knew you were stressed. "Neither of us is better than the other. We're equals. And if you treat me as one, I'll treat you as one." He bargained.

"Fine but if-" You started to rant before being rudely interrupted by a loud harsh thud, followed by panicked screams coming from a few streets over.

You both looked at each other for a moment before Hawks took off. You growled before building up enough heat in your feet to blast yourself in the same direction, the action causing your hair to rise up in flames at the same time.

You stumbled a little as you landed in the middle of the street. Where the hell was Hawks?

You didn't have time to think about him.

You stared forward at the large villain. He was a tall man with a very muscular physique, large brown eyes, and orange, flame-shaped hair. He was wearing a baggy, navy blue bodysuit, with very bulky, rock-like boots, gauntlets, and shoulder pads.

His entire body had been expelling smoke from specific holes in his gear. You knew this man.

Standing in front of you was the villain known as Volcano. The leader of the volcano thieves. No doubt the other two delinquents on his team were somewhere around. Or making an escape.

You watched as the floor around him started to fill with molten liquid that slipped from under his clothes. Next to him was what you assumed to be a safe. But smashing it through whatever building he had done it too caused the rubble to force him into one spot. Not only was he trapped there but there were multiple civilians with him.

With his panicked attempts to escape he was endangering what you could identify as three women, two children and two men.

You pushed your way forward and dodged through the crowd. Swiftly bouncing up the cars on the road before settling yourself on top of one.

"Stand down Volcano!" You called over.

He slowly turned to look up at you. His gas mask making him look ten times more terrifying. He let out a scoff that pushed even more smoke out of him. "Well well! If it ain't Ōmikami! How nice of you to join us. Maybe you could help us get out of here?" He taunted. "Or you could put these wonderful people in danger. Once again."

You let out a somewhat of an unhinged laugh, forcing your smile back onto your face as you braced yourself to deal with the criminal.

The fire lit in your eyes and you engulfed yourself in flames starting from your feet moving all the way up to your hair, the fire causing it to rise up as much as it could at its current length, causing it to become wavy and to move fluidly like a campfire would. "The hell did you just say to me?!" You bursted as you moved forward to jump into the little pit he'd made.

"Ōmikami! Keep your cool kid!" Hawks' voice called out. "Work on getting the Civi's out before you take him on! Both of your quirks are similar and dangerous to the average person!"

You looked up to see him above you, casting what would be a shadow if your fire didn't outshine the shade from his large wings. You huffed and nodded. "Got it. What're you gonna do?"

A cocky smirk pulled at his lips. "You leave that to me." He reassured before shooting up into the air.

You jumped down into the pit and stared up at the huge man. If he got his hands on you, he would most definitely snap you like a twig. Luckily for you, you had speed on your side, especially in comparison to him.

He took thumping steps towards you, letting the civilians cower behind him as far away from the lava as they could. "Look at you, pretty girl. Didn't your daddy ever tell you not to mess with big bad men."

You scoffed. "Definitely not." You practically laughed as you shot around him quickly, attempting to get closer to retract fire from him, piling it onto yourself. You could tell that it was working since you were beginning to heat up more. You knew what your limit was. You couldn't go too hot or you would actually burn.

You looked over at the civilians as you stopped behind him. Flashing a reassuring smile before shooting upwards and back down quickly, appearing like a meteor of sorts, into the villain's back.

Volcano shot into the rubble, completely smashing into it, not enough to make an exit but-

That's it! That's what you were gonna do!

You kept yourself away from the civilians and looked over at him. "You really are as dull as rusted iron aren't you?" You smirked.

He turned around and glared at you. Looking much angrier. “I can’t wait to crush one of Endeavour’s offspring.” He taunted.

You looked behind him to see that Hawks was using feathers to scoop everyone out silently and quickly. You needed to keep his attention so that he didn't try to target the Bird hero, wherever he was.

You moved in time with the villain. It was as if he was trying to circle you like a predator with its prey. You were good for defence against fire quirks but when it came to actually giving damage it was a different story.

Since the man was literally called Volcano you knew that he would withstand your heat. So you needed to wear him down in other ways. Speed and power were your best friends right now.

"What're you gonna do? Pounce at me?" You taunted as you launched at him, before you could come into contact you sent out a high pressure burst of fire, sending him back into the rubble once more, hoping that it would do the trick.

Which it did, that was until you were pushed hard into a completely crushed up car by a large heap of ash.

You coughed it out and tried to stretch your back out a little.

"Dawh. I'm sorry, did that hurt Ōmikami?" A woman's voice spoke.

The cloud of ash cleared to reveal the perpetrator, the criminal Dusty Ash. Part of the Volcano thieves.

"The boss might not have pounced at you. But this kitty cat sure as hell did." She grinned.

You scoffed as you got yourself to your feet. "Kitty cat? With the way your skin is, you're more like a slab of sandstone." You jeered, earning another powerful blast of ash before she hit you hard with her club.

You yelped instinctively as you fell down onto the floor, using the opportunity of the cloud of ash to move out of her way before it cleared.

You rolled down and under one of the cars, slipping out the other side to catch your breath. You wiped your nose for a moment as the headache started to form from being thumped. "Bitch..." You muttered.

You clicked your knuckles before brushing the dust and ash from your hands. You wanted nothing more than to bust out from behind the car now to taunt them before kicking their asses but you didn’t know if there were any civilians left.

You began to burn up, causing your flames to begin coating you from the feet up. You looked down at your hero costume. Annoyed that ash and dirt had collected up the front of your maxi dress. Your legs were uncovered since there were two slits along the front of your dress. It was one that would mirror something that a fire bender from Avatar: The last Airbender would wear.

Costume Reference but with more armour. Because I have no idea what this kinda clothing is called.

You took a deep breath and pushed yourself up into the air to get over the ash. You looked down as the cloud was blown out of the way by the other delinquent under Volcano’s control.

Kazetani Tsumuji. Or Gust boy as he’s more commonly known.

He was using his propeller-esque fingers to blow the ash away so that his friend could see you through the ash.

They looked around for a moment not seeing you.

“Where the hell is that little brat?” Gust boy practically shrieked.

“I got her with my club. I think she’s hiding behind the car.” She beamed proudly as she bounced over to the vehicle looking over the hood.

Gust looked back to the boss who was blindly chasing the red feathers that were attempting to slice through the pipes on his gas mask.

“Where the hell is sh-” Dusty Ash began as she looked over to the darker side of the car, seeing burn marks covering the floor before she was cut off.

“Heyo!” You beamed as you launched your foot into the back of her head, knocking her into the hood of the vehicle causing it to dent which completely knocked her out.

You managed to turn yourself in the air towards Gust boy who immediately began blowing air at you, attempting to put your flames out. Which with the strength of the wind he was close to succeeding.

That was when Hawks flew in with a blade like feather, catching the criminal’s arm enough to cut him but not cut it off. “Ōmikami! While we have them cornered, use a blast to confuse them!!” He called over as Gust stumbled back into the side of his boss.

The excitement in your eyes radiated at the chance to use more of your power. “Oh I’ll do more than confuse ‘em.” You snarled as you pulled your hands together, focusing all of the fire around you including the stuff coming off of Volcano into a large ball.

“Bonfire!” You started as your eyes sharpened, looking increasingly like Endeavours. “BLAST!” You yelled as you shot the ball of fire at the criminals. You watched as they smacked hard into the rubble as the fire spread over them before disappearing into the ground.

Gust had been completely knocked out, and almost fried while Volcano was stirring a little, trying to stay awake before you wandered over and pulled his respirator mask off, kneeing him in the skull to force him into unconsciousness.

You jumped down off of the pile and quickly made your way over to the crowd while Hawks moved to restrain them until the police could.

“Is everyone okay?” You questioned, your smile becoming much friendlier as you checked over the people that were the closest.

The crowd cheered loudly for the two heroes. Cameras flashed for the both of you while kids and adults alike begged for pictures or for you to sign things.

Which you were more than happy to do.

“Ōmikami!” A voice called over to you as you took a picture with a kid, being careful to keep your body from touching anyone since it was still a little too hot.

You looked up to see Police officer Tamakawa Sansa beckoning over to you, You gave a knowing nod as you stood up. “Alright guys! I gotta get going.” You spoke, rubbing the back of your head flusteredly as they all collectively went “Aw!”

“I know I know, but you’re more than welcome to come up to me if you see me in the future alright! As long as it doesn’t put you in danger. Laters!” You hummed, bowing lightly at them before you walked over to the officers that were getting the criminals into the van.

“Thank you for your help Ōmikami. I know it must have been harder since yours and Volcano’s quirks are so similar.” Tamakawa thanked while he wrote in his little notebook.

You shrugged. “It was no problem.” You smiled. “Did anyone get hurt?” You questioned.

“Pfft, You think that THE Hawks would let anyone get hurt?” Hawks bragged as he walked towards you.

“Well actually there were a few with minor injuries so-” Tamakawa informed.

You raised your eyebrows at the other hero. “Oh yeah, good job on not getting anyone hurt.” You teased.

“Hey at least I’m not the one who kicked one of the criminals into the hood of a car.” He grinned.

You let out a semi faked laugh. “Well it was my best shot of getting her down for the count. Anyway, Officer Tamakawa, what can I help you with?” You asked as the man waited patiently.

He looked up to you once again since his gaze flickered between the both of you. “Oh we just wanted to thank you for your cooperation with Hawks. You two make quite the pair. Who would’ve thought.” He chuckled as he moved to pat your arm to which you stepped away.

“Still hot.” You warned.

“Right, you used one of your supermoves.” He nodded as he moved to write it down.

“Which was a dangerous move may I add.” Hawks butted in.

You looked up at him with furrowed brows. “Excuse me? No it wasn’t. You told me to use a blast to confuse them.” You denied.

“You used your Bonfire blast not a few sparks. You didn't consider the fact that Gust boy isn’t strong against fire.” He pointed out. “C’mon we can talk about it over food. We’ve got a bunch of other stuff to discuss anyway.”

You sighed and rubbed the side of your face softly. “Fine, let's go.” You agreed as you flashed a leaving smile to the officers before following after Hawks.
