As
Deiryah Gíldottïr
"Why did I got sent here anyway? Can't it be in Harry Potter or Buffy or well, even an anime is better. Though I am complaining."
"My store, my rules. Y'all see that sign? If any of you can read, get out!"
"Oh, I especially hate it when customers use that quote. As I said, in my café, I am the Queen."
"Be my guest, try it, mister."
Chapter Text
The name's Deiryah Gíldottïr. Today was supposed to be my birthday, the 20th birthday of my short life that also ended that day. Saturday was not my favorite day now. Had it ever been? Monday was even worse, but let's talk about the fact that Saturday was the day of my death.
If I could write my own eulogy in my own funeral and say it, it would be, "To my friends and family, I am sorry for trying to help our house shitty financial problem. I love you all, but if you try to went after me, I don't recommend it. Dying sucks, and I'd prefer you all alive." Or something along that line.
Anyway, after dying, I watched my family for a little while, before my time was up on this earth and darkness surrounded me.
I really thought that was the end, but I woke up again.
Now, when you woke up from your own death to a world of the living in a hospital bed, what would you do? You'll probably have a breakdown or started thinking 'what the fuck just happened' and try to find answer.
Me? I didn't exactly had the time to try finding out or time to think about what happened when I was once again sucked by the darkness.
When I wake the second time, I was not in the hospital bed, but sitting on a chair in an office in front of the main desk of that office with someone sitting there smiling creepily at me.
I was, by any means, not that nice with my words, "Who the fuck are you?"
The guy was still smiling, albeit a little more dangerously now. I could tell he was pissed. But do I care? Nah. I'm dead, if the worse happen, I won't exactly care about it.
He sighed, why? Idk, "Well, ms. Gíldottïr, you were dead. But your soul had strayed from the line of the purgatory and I accidentally sent you to the wrong world that you're supposed to reincarnate in."
Okay, I may have a deadpan on. But it was coming anyway. "Who are you?" I asked again.
"I am who you call guardian of the universe."
"8th grade syndrome?" The guy just send me an irritated look. Probably because he just wanted to sound cool, because I'm pretty sure that's not what he really was called.
"No, but I'm really am. It just sound cooler. But my job was just sending stray soul to another world where they should be going to. But everyone calls me Gerald."
"That's a basic name."
"At least it's a name."
"Fair point." I nodded, deciding not to argue anymore and start to get real. "So, what world did you send me to?"
Gerald sighed, "I sent you to Earth-F1385 or you mortals tend to call them 'The Vampire Diaries'." Okay, now I understand why he said that he sent me to the wrong world.
Look, I'm fine with reincarnation to another world thingy, though I would be a little sad leaving behind my precious poor family who couldn't even afford a fried chicken, I would be fine. I was always obsessed with fiction anyway, dreaming about how it would be if I were to get send to another world and living as one of the characters, remembering my past and fixing things that would harm my favorite characters even if I would be the villain and die in the process, yeah, I would be fine with that.
But when he revealed that I was in TVD or Vampire Diaries? Yeah, that's as something I wouldn't be able to accept. For a bit.
"WHAT?! Why the fuck vampire diaries! You know that world was fucked up- even though the men and women are fine as hell- the world's shitty! I didn't even bother reading the novels on that show!"
"Well, I can't move your soul now that you're there. That's difficult. And there's 98% the higher ups wouldn't let you change it anyway. Unless you died. BUT I tell you this, it's not worth it." He seemed to know that i was planning on killing myself to get out of that world.
"Why did I got sent here anyway? Can't it be in Harry Potter or Buffy or well, even an anime is better. Though I am complaining." I groaned in frustration, "How the fuck did you even get it wrong?? Shouldn't you be- like- god-power like?"
He sighed again, "I'm no god, stray soul. I was only being put here by God and my higher ups. I don't know anything but the worlds and how to put you. And... I know you've been asking it in your head, you were supposed to be in Earth-F1379 or Twilight."
I was speechless. Twilight? I hit my head on the desk, hard. And keep on muttering 'twilight? Twilight?' Like a mentally ill person. I even ignored the blood pouring out of my head.
Gerald slumped in his seat. He knew that she was going to react like that. And was waiting for her to get her shits back.
It took awhile, sure, but I stopped and stare at Gerald like a dead girl with dried blood all over my face. He didn't bother cleaning it up after he healed me, not that I blame him. I don't want it to be gone, anyway. I was trying to get some relief by the blood all over my face that I didn't end up in that more shitty world. At least TVD was a world for all supes, bar it's shitty dramas.
"You're calm." It was a statement, I know that much.
I rolled my eyes, "yeah, I am. Thanks for that mistake, I'd rather be in TVD than Twilight. At least in TVD vampires burn. Now, I really doubt that was all you wanted to tell me."
He nodded, now serious, with how his eyes hardened, "We're going to talk about your species."
I also straighten myself in my seat, "continue." Now, we talk business.
"Since your soul is from another world, you'll have to have a little change in yourself. One of them are your species or race. It, of course, is supernatural. In 'TVD'," he said it as if quoting me, he probably was, "you were never human. Every souls have their own body in another world, most of them are humans, though they have connection to the supernatural one way or another, you, Deiryah, did not. But you are a supernatural yourself.
"Your race had always been off radar, or rather, almost impossible to awaken. But that was because what awaken your bloodline was something that have 99,9% chance of surviving. Most of your predecessor did not make it and died in the process, some did survived, just not in their own world nor did some of them have a human body. But you, you're in luck, you are one of those that passed to another world. While in your world, you would be dead, you were sent to live again in another world. And with this, you came out alive of the transition. Just like some others of your kind.
"Your race were supposed to be extinct in the world of TVD thousands of years ago, even before the immortality spell was made. This was because of the risk at dying and some that lived was hunted down and died also. With the other side have yet to be created, they did not stay and goes straight to the purgatory, even though some managed to live, it being in the same way you did like I had mentioned before, and one of them arrived to your world. Where you are born and thus continuing the bloodline. You are the last of your kind in this planet of a universe, ms. Gíldottïr."
He hadn't said anything about what I was. But in the short time I met him, I know that it was his personality working on. He was being dramatic and waiting for the dramatic effect. So I asked instead, "What am I?"
Gerald smirked, and damn that was somewhat hot, "You, ms. Gíldottïr, is a Phoenix."
Pin drop anyone? Silence filled the office that stood in the nowhere and yet everywhere. The two of them were staring at each other. One was smirking, the other was just sitting with a blank face.
Then I was done processing that information and I shout, "A PHOENIX!?" I probably have sparkles in my eyes. Why? I was... Ecstatic. Obviously. I'm a freaking Phoenix! I can burn whoever I want when they were pissing my off and that was awesome. "I'm a Phoenix, a Phoenix. This is freaking awesome! What's my power?? There's no way I'm just any ordinary bird that burn fire and just throw fire to burn things, right? What is it? What is it?"
You can't blame me for being a kid, I mean, if you were me you're going to be all giddy, right?
Gerald just chuckled at my reaction, and he started to tell me the powers I needed to know about myself, knowing that I had no one to teach me but him in my new world that I now accepted as my new one because my original world before the mistake was as shitty as a diaper.
Turns out, because now that I'm a Phoenix, which mean the bird that symbol immortality because it died after its lifespan ended and came back as a baby bird from its own ashes. Which that means I was immortal. And if I died, burned or not, I would heal. Though not like the burn-ashes-baby. But dead-heal-alive. Even a thorn out heart or head cut off from neck would heal, though it takes time, I healed at least and lived.
Then the fire-thingy, it was true, I only need to flick my wrist and a fire would appear. So, maybe no fire breath, Convenient.
Then my hair can also float in the air or turn into fire and flaring up like a bonfire. It was awesome because I tried it and I looked cool and badass. Even Gerald praised it. That guy was hard to please, I tell you. Probably came with the time he spent in this place.
I could fly, too. And I don't exactly need wings to do it. Well, I do, but my wings was always there, Gerald's words, not mine. You could see it as clear as day at night and when I fly, but when I fly in daylight, it was invisible. Convenient.
For survival, Gerald was the one who gave me an ability to turn invisible. With wearing a pair of earrings, it was ring earrings and I could attach some ornaments on them to make them stylish, that was my idea not his. Oh, and they're sharp and silver and also have a bit of obsidian stone in them because—surprise, surprise—those were the weakness to werewolves like silver to vampires. So, when someone try to take it, they would bleed and burn from the contact with it. Good, I don't want my invisibility to be gone.
Gerald also told me that I could use magic, because of me being a Phoenix, thus also being a symbol to the element of fire, I was able to use magic. But instead of nature, I use my own core to use magic. And I was basically a pyromaster. The master of all fire, even the hottest fire. And yes, that also meant the sun.
Phoenix was said to be born from a star or a ball of fire out in the space and came down to earth to bring warmth, but when phoenixes went extinct, the clouds revealed the sun and let it to warm earth. It was Gerald, again, that told me it. And I keep it in my mind, just in case I would need it.
Then there are more, but it would be too long to list, and I think you should just see it later through this. Fighting~
"Well, that's all. But if I were you, I would look out for more. 'They' always messes up with people. And live a happy life in your new reality."
I gave him a nod, "thank you, Gerald. I hope we can meet again some times in the future. Maybe after I settled down and get a stable life?" He smiled at me, "it's set then. See you later in the future." I gave him a smile as I drifted away from that office. The last thing I saw was Gerald's smile. One that I would keep in my memory lane, forever.
--
When I woke up again in my new reality, I was still in the hospital bed, but now, I'm not alone anymore.

Chapter Text
"Ah, Miss you are finally awake." A doctor said to me. And yes, doc, I am, thank you for saying the obvious.
"What happened?" I smartly asked him. Obviously, I won't fall for that and said something stupid. Like, 'yeah, I am, and?'
"We don't exactly know what happened to you, miss. But someone found you by the sidewalk, bleeding. We were hoping you would know what happened." The doctor said slowly for me to process. And yeah, it did help.
"I don't remember much, but I remember someone bumped to me, all black and then, well, I fell." I explained in the most vague way possible. Because that was true. I did got bumped, someone stabbed me and I bleed to death. In my old world. Except, I know who it was. Which, I won't tell you, it's not something for me to tell. And I didn't die in an alleyway, but at my dorm at College.
So, Gerald was being generous and send me to bleed a little on my stomach, which now I know wouldn't do anything major to me, and let me forge my own story. And then, what? Well, the rest will flow.
Bills. My mind whispered, and I almost slap my face. I need to pay the hospital bills later when I got out of here. Damn it, do I even have a bank account here? I doubt it. They won't be that generous would they? Well, I'll find a way.
"Great." I heard the doctor muttered to himself. Alright, noted that my hearings are now a little enhanced. I'll test more of my power later. Gerald did mention that physically it would came slow but steady so I can adapt well to it.
"First, can we know your name miss?"
"Deiryah Gíldottïr, Icelandic, but I was born in California." I answered him with another vague answers. I was wary, I couldn't trust the society or government, the internet and old books from the 19s told me that much.
"Alright, Miss Gíldottïr, we will give you a medical test. You look fine, but we can't be assuming." Well, doc, I want out of here sooner rather than later.
I just nodded, doctor words, follow them.
I let them check on me. And I asked a few things about what happened while I was unconscious. And I got it out of them after many persuasion. Cause, apparently, they don't want me to know. I don't know why.
So, here's what I got.
Turns out, I was at death door many times and they tried to save me. But then it didn't work and I died. So I still died in this world, too. But, it was probably because of my Phoenix trait, I didn't stayed death for long. Because I was alive again not half-an-hour later.
I found out more with mind control, something I found out I can do from Gerald, that they were planning on testing me like a rat lab. Not so happy about it, I don't, nope.
So, after my medical test, I mind controlled every staff and the doctors in that hospital to let me go and to tell anyone they told of me to forget about it. I was off limit. Because, if they come after me, I'm not going to be the one ended up as ashes.
After getting some of my things that they found on me, which was my phone, purse, and my necklace. The necklace my dad gave to me. It was carved out of wood into a bird and a wolf. The bird was majestic, not an ordinary cute bird. And then the wolf was also quite magestic. They were facing each other, as if joining together in force. Pretty sure it had some history, and it was my family's heirloom. Anyway it was silver, all of it. And it was also, in a way, a locket. It just that the shape was flat.
In it, I put my family's picture. Of my dad, mom, my twins little sisters, and my lil baby brother that was still a baby in the picture. On the other side of it was me when I was still a kid and just lost my first baby teeth.
Okay, focus, Dei. Now's not the time for reminiscing or grieving my family when I need a place to stay under.
Do I even have a place to stay in this world? Well, I have my phone. I should probably look into— oh, never mind. It doesn't have any services yet. The world's 2009, not the time for Androids or I-phone or digital phone.
I sighed and pocketed my phone. Okay, well, let's look into my purse, maybe there's something in there.
Though, first, a bench.
I found myself a bench to sat down on at the hospital front park. And start to rummaging my purse. And thank goodness, I have a notebook. One that I know wasn't there before, obviously.
I opened the cover first, and quickly I read over the first words on it.
“Dear me,
I was probably already ded if you're reading this. And right now, you're me but not me.
But I gotta care, right? Well, I don't. You're me and I'm you, so we're even. And maybe we switched or something.
Anyway, I died. Idk how, but I know I did. I have been dreaming of this day. I hope you choose the right thing to do for your future, in my body which is yours now, too.
Anyway, idk what I am, but I think you know what you are or what I am. We're the same, right? Okay. Anyways!
You got an apartment, if you're reading this at the hospital bench, you just need to get to the end of the town, in the forest, there's a house. It's ours, my dad, and yours, too, left it to us and now we owned it. Anyway, the town you're in is Richmond. And yes, near, very near with the town the two of us dreaded so much. I don't know about you, but I hate that small town because it gave me a bad vibe. Like death. I always avoid going there like plague. I hope you do too, I can feel it, there's nothing good with going there. Besides, we live in Richmond! Much bigger city than that small shit. Anyway, good luck! My whole life is written in this whole book. Just read it. ;)„
Okay, that girl who wrote this was definitely me. It's creepy how the letters she wrote was even identical with mine. But I just brushed it off.
Now, with a house in mind, I started my search. But, I don't know where to go. BUT, I followed my gut instincts anyway. It did saved me many times, even though I died because I didn't listen to it. Yeah, mistakes.
It didn't take that long, or maybe it did, but I wasn't tired from all the walking. Improving physical trait? Muscles? Eh.
Anyway, I found it! It was just a normal wooden house. With wooden fences. And some small garden at the front. Cute, simple, and I like it. It feels like I'm at home, and maybe I am. Just feel like something was missing.
ANYWAYS, I got in my new home. And I was right, it was homey. And it was durable. I. Love. It.
Anyway, I try my ability with fire by flicking my wrist. And yeah, it was easy, with only a flick of my hand and fingers, and some will, I was able to light up the fireplace, where some woods were there for the same thing I needed right now, warmth. Since the night was coming on me, the sun was down now. Phoenix still need the stars to heat them, Gerald told me.
Which reminds me, I need to write things down. Like the plot of this world, because even if I didn't want to get involved, I need to know the things I need to avoid. And then my plans for my future, what I wanted to do and what I should really do now that I'm supernatural.
And with that, I proceed with my plan. Only, I need to clean the house.
-
That was done in an hour. I was now sitting at the dining table with books and pencils also pens and a ruler. I need a real planning board.
Anyway, I wrote down a list.
1. Write TVD, TO, and Legacies plot
2. Get some money so I can live without worrying about that shit like I was in the past. (Kill some rich corrupt guy if desperate/get some pure gold minerals and sold it at the bank)
3. Practice and dig more into my new self and body
4. Find something to do(opening a store? That would be a steady income for me)
5. Stay out from Mystic Falls, obviously. Also New Orleans.
6. -
Hadn't decided on the 6. Let's see what I can do. I need to get some cashes first and save it in this life bank account and save some in a secret tash or bury it underground so I can take it anytime I needed it.
For now, let's write down the 1 on the list. The easiest one to do.
That's exactly what I did. I wrote down the plots that I thought was important. Put many side notes and a bookmark sticker and more notes. It was a long way to go and I didn't bat any sleep while I was writing everything down.
I finished the next afternoon. Finally finished. And I was starving and in need of my sleep.
Sighing, I look in the kitchen for food, seeing as there were a box of cereals, I take it and didn't bother for milk. I just eat it dry.
I stare at the books on the dining table, the books that contain the plot of the shows. And there were not only one, it took 4 books to write everything I know about the shows. I didn't know that it was this much.
But, meh.
The first one was about the plot of S1 to S3. The second was about S3 to S5. The third was about S6 to S7. And the fourth was about S7 to S8 and a little bit of The Originals. And, that means I need some more notebooks. I don't trust the internet or computer, I think the FBI was always watching and I can't risk them reading what I had wrote down. Or maybe they'll thought it was just a material for writing novels. But I still can't trust them, besides, I don't have one.
Welp, let's do the 2. Money, our problem all the time. Sigh.
I finished the cereals and put the empty box in the trash bin. I didn't bother tidying up the mess on the dining table and go into the bathroom and started to shower. It had been two days since I last shower, the hot water running down my body was refreshing after all the thinking and writing I did. My brain was tired, and I wanted to get to my bed and sleep soundly.
Life goes on, but my body need sleep, so stop planning and start sleeping. One of my mottos after I was tired out of my mind, and just sleep on the ground to get some sleep in the past.
I got out of the bathroom and changed into my pajamas. It was a faded green, like a mocha green or something. Well, whatever, what's important was that it was comfortable.
I made my bed, dusting off the dust off my bed and the pillows and blanket, I tucked myself in bed. Then I fell asleep.
Tomorrow, money, today, sleep. Idc if it's in the afternoon, sleep will be sleep.

Chapter 4: Things to do(2)
Summary:
Making money, talking with Slater and find out some powers Deiryah have
Chapter Text
The next morning, I was on my feet, standing in my backyard. Thinking how I should be doing this.
You see, I was trying to do the 2 and 3 on my recent to-do list. Make money and practice my power at the same time.
I was aiming for gold minerals, to sold it to the bank or jewelry store. Pure gold was something that's hard to find, but when your race were related with the metal, it would be easy to detect them. But that's the thing, how should I do it?
I could just try feeling it, but this was my first time, I don't know how to feel or what to feel to know.
Well, let's dig in my head a little more for answers.
First of all, gold. Phoenix and gold, they mix. It was something that was like the form of nature. Phoenixes love gold, I love gold, my family love gold. Now I get it why we had an obsession with gold. It turns out, we are naturally taking a liking in the metal. It was like water and fish. Gold channel our fire better than iron. And it melt the right way.
If you're a phoenix and didn't like gold, it's the same thing as you're a fake.
And gold are also one of our weaknesses. That was why we keep it close to ourselves, too. It was like; keep your allies close, keep your enemy closer. Of course, we are still immortal, but gold was something that can slice through our skin like butter, different from other metal, where it would barely put a big scratch on us. We run hot miles, the other type of metal would just melt, while gold stayed.
Of course, my necklace were gold, too, it was just painted wood. Also the earrings I wore was mixed with some to withstand my heat.
You would ask, what about our clothes? Well, they're a different matter. One that would be explained in a much later time.
Anyway, back on track. Since I remember that my necklace and earrings are gold, I should try to feel them then try to feel the pure gold underneath.
I closed my eyes in a form of focus. Giving my accessories a feel. And I feel some sort of tug in my stomach, the pleasant kind of tug. And guessed that was how it would feel to feel gold.
I kneeled on the ground and put my hand on top of it. I closed my eyes, and send a little of my power down to the earth. The magic vibrated comfortably through it, heating everything it touches. I feel everything underground, all of the minerals, it all heat up easily to my magic. And then I feel it.
It was like feeling when you drink your favorite drink or taste your favorite food.
Finally! I thought excitedly. And I now try to use my other power. Telekinesis.
I still put my hand on the ground. But now I send another magic through the path of my magic that I created when I sensed the metals.
And soon enough, i feel my power warped around the golds that I could feel and started to pull it up towards where I was.
Easier said than done, it wwasan annoying process. The earth was not just dirt, there were many other minerals down there, and some of it stood in the way of the golds.
But I managed. It was getting nearer to the surface. And I took a breath in and out. Calming myself down and pull the goods out of the earth.
A bright smile etched on my face, beaming at my work. Now I was staring into a big chunk of gold and some small ones. I was going rich.
--
I walked through the streets of Richmond with a big smile on my face. I mean, I did just get a bunch of cash.
In my original's back account, I only had a few dollars, it didn't even each a hundred. And now it surpassed millions, since I repeatedly searched for gold after the first try. I'm glad I had this power. Being supes really helped some times.
I decided to Invest in Amazon as soon as I get my money. It was going to be awesome since I invested half my money into them. They better be good with me and my possible future businesses.
Anyway, I need to find out about the 4. What to do now?
I invested in most to-be-success company in this world as soon as I collected money. So, I don't know what to do to fill my time in this world.
I was still thinking, when I walked across a café.
I stopped my walk and stare at the café's name. It was 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 and I was betting with myself whose café it was. I know who it was. He was pretty much a walking encyclopedia and I couldn't let him die in the future just because he had too much knowledge. He was valuable and I know some times in the future I would need him.
But should I reach out to him? That would be best. If I can do it, maybe I can get him to tell me how the fuck did he managed to open a café and maybe build my own on the other side of the town.
But I won't limit my café for only vampires. It would extend to other supes as well. To make the café calm, with no one opposing anyone, i would need to put some rule of 'no fighting'. And maybe I can have some customers for not only vamps, but wolves, humans, and witches. And other species that was out there yet I hadn't known of. But with me being a phoenix, I can guess that there are more supes.
I contemplate more in my head, but decided to walk in.
As soon as I got in, eyes we're on me. I could tell that almost everyone here was vamps. There were few humans, but they hadn't known of the supes, so they were oblivious. But for Slater's sake, he put some rules about not feeding human in his café, probably. Which I would put in mine in the future as well.
Yes, I'm set on opening a café now. A store would be too boring.
I walked towards the cashier, and making them look up to meet my face.
I smiled kindly as she froze in place. The girl was a vamp, I could tell from her reddish aura. No, auras are not visible, I could just feel them. Anyway, she's a vamp.
The vamp girl, May, freeze in her place when she saw the client. The woman in front of her was beautiful, out worldly so. She could always admire the woman. But she froze not at her looks, but her scent. It smells danger and of the sun. And she knew deep in the back of her mind, that the woman would feel like the sun, even her blood. It would burn her.
"I would like to meet with the owner, please." I asked politely. That snapped her out of her frozen state.
"I-i'm sorry m-miss. But the b-boss is b-busy-" they were scared of me, I could tell that much by the stuttering alone. But her expression also gave her away.
My smile was strained now, and I look into her eyes, "call him now." I used mind control. My first time using it on vampires or other creatures.
This, of course alerted everyone in the café. But I could be careless. I was enjoying this too much. I don't know why either.
Before the girl did, someone came up behind me. "I'm the owner." I could hear the strained tone in his voice. And I could tell that it was really him when my mind control snapped.
I turned around with a grin on my face, and I look up at Slater's face, he was a few inches taller than me. I was fine with that.
"Great, Slater right? I'm here to talk business, buddy." My first time talking with a side character from the shows. And I leave an awesome impression too. I was pretty happy.
Slater gritted his teeth. He was about to kill her at first, but when he got nearer, he didn't do it. He could feel in his bone and flesh that she was more dangerous than even an original vampire. And that was saying something.
He led her to an empty table far from anyone and she put on an invisible air barrier around them, just so no one could hear them.
He sat down on the opposite side of her, glaring fully at her and a frown etched on his forehead. "Who are you and what do you want?" His tone was hostile.
I put my hands up in surrender, an easygoing grin on my face. I was grinning too much today, well, "Calm down your pants, buddy. I don't mean you no harm. And I won't kill that cashier from earlier. I just really need to meet with you. It's involving your death, you know." I shrugged, not paying any attention to his shocked and scared face.
"How?" He breathed out shakily.
I stopped my carefree attitude. I admit I was high before, but I soon realize the real mood.
I sighed, putting down the barrier and said normally, "Can we get a chamomile tea and a cup of hot lemon tea please? Oh and put two drop of blood on the chamomile!"
I heard a faint 'on it' from the kitchen before turning to the shaken Slater. I put my hand on top of his. "Don't worry, I won't let him do it." The teas were there not even ten minutes later. And she gave the chamomile to Slater, "it'll help, i don't really know if it works, I saw people calming down to that, and I see no harm." I shrugged.
Slater hold his breath, but drink the tea, and instantly, I saw him relaxed, "It helped, thanks." He said after that sip. "Tell me more." He meant about his death.
I nodded and put the barrier back up, "An Original will come to your place and compel you to kill yourself. Apparently, your encyclopedia brain had too much knowledge. So he killed you." I took a sip to my hot lemonade, it taste good, not my standard good, but good. Ugh, whatever.
He held his breath again, now his eyes wide, "An Original? Who?" He muttered under his breath. But I heard him anyway with my developing enhancing senses.
"If you're thinking Klaus, no. The guy would probably just let you go, knowing he was the one who told your everything about the Sun and Moon Curse. Oh, no. It was the other only awake Original. You can guess our shadow?"
"Elijah?" My face must've given it away, because he sinked in his seat,
"Yes, that guy." I sighed and took another sip on my hot lemonade, "But I can help you with that."
Slater frowned and I waited for it, "how?"
"A ring and a deal." I simply answered. Seeing his confused expression, "look, buddy. In a few months time, in the next year, some people will come to you for information. They will ask about the originals and what they are. And their arrival will be the start of your end. I would recommend not helping them and act like you don't know a thing, BUT." I put the usual. A pause to drink my hot lemonade, it was warm now though.
He got agitated waiting for my answer, I could tell, so I continued, "We can do it like this, you call me when you saw them, I will be there in a minute time and you can tell them exactly what you want them to know, don't give it away that you know more than you really know. When Elijah break the glass, I will take you away from here to my house, where I'm sure no one know where. And trust me, this will be a piece of cake!" I gave him a brilliant smile.
Slater let out a breath he had been holding, one that I didn't—and he also didn't—know holding. He then look at me like I was crazy, "how will you get me away from here, I mean we're facing an On Original, how will you fight an Original Vampire? You're just—"
"If you say human, please hold your tongue." I stopped him with my blank face. "I never said anything about me human, I mean, I did just controlled your employee's mind. And if you thought I'm a witch, no, I'm much more natural than them. I'm not a servant to nature, I am a part of nature itself."
He was too stunned to speak, applause for me! "How?" Typical question.
"I would mind if you don't tell anyone about this. Because I'm trying to lay low for awhile, I'm still new to this life, you see. Well, the life right after I died, of course." I shrugged, then he asked.
"Are you some sort of original hybrid but a witch?" I was dumbfounded by his analysis, I thought he was more smarter than this! Well, I guess it didn't cross his mind. It wouldn't cross mine either if I didn't know myself.
"No, I'm not. I'm something else. Something more powerful and much more rare. Besides, I am my own race, there would be no more of mine but me in this world unless I gave birth to a kid. And the percentage of them surviving was 99.99% And it is that rare. I was lucky enough to survive." I thought first before I tell him. Was it worth it? Would he be loyal? Was he someone who keep his words? Well, if he tells anyone, he's dead, "what I am, is a phoenix."
We could hear a pin drop if it weren't for the other customers, and then Slater opened his mouth, "WHAT!" Oh, he shouted. "But- they're not real? How? I thought they were just myth!"
"Said the vampire." Said me sarcastically. "Seriously, I told you I'm the only one of my kind. I trusted you this much, Slaty. And the proof is me, myself, and I. Don't tell anyone about me, you're dead the moment you did." That's not a threat, it's a promise. And he knows it.
Slater gulped his saliva, "What about the 'ring'?"
"Hmm, I was about to give you a daylight ring. But I changed my mind." His eyes goes impossibly wide like a golf ball. But I wasn't finished, "I want to try this. What's your real name, buddy?"
"It's... Leonardo Slater, the name that was given to me when I was human." (A/N: I made that up) He nodded, still shaking. He looked like a soaked trembling puppy, seriously. How cute.
"Okay, thanks." I gave him a reassuring smile, then I get serious, "O, stea, din care m-am născut. Dă-mi permisiunea ca Leornardo Slater, prietenul și tovarășul meu, să meargă sub grațiile tale. Lasă-l să simtă zumzetul moale al căldurii tale și lumina care a strălucit pentru a ne lumina ziua."(a/n: google translate, idk if it was what it was) I could feel the shift in the air and I think I feel the sun and stars glowed a little bit too bright before it became normal again. I could feel the hum of approval from the deepest part of myself and I opened my eyes again.
I saw Slater eyes staring at me with fascination, "what did you do?"
I gave him my smug look, "I asked the stars and sun to allow you to walk under them. Go try it, I could feel them accepting my wish." Slater stand up from his seat and goes outside.
He didn't burn, which was exactly what I wished for him. I'm glad it worked. That one idea just came to me so suddenly, I wasn't even sure it would work! But It did. I'm glad it did.
He goes back inside and hugged me tightly, if it wasn't for me being- well, me. My bones would've been crushed. I hugged him back though.
When he let go of me, he said, "thank you so much. I won't tell a soul about you unless you allow me to. But, wait, I thought you wanted this to be a secret? Why did you tell me here?"
"Buddy, did you notice anything strange?" He looked around and noticed that no one was paying them much attention, only curious glances, "I won't be telling you this if they could even hear us in the first place. I put up a wind barrier. And yes, every mythical creatures can use other mythical creatures' powers, only a qquarte, of course they still can have a full access on their own element, but other elements, I can use a quarter. I used the wind to deafen the things around us. It was a simple trick I learned after I have access to other elements."
"Wow." Yeah that was about it, I know, "so now you're the strongest being on earth? Stronger than even Klaus?"
"Yes, right under the heaven, I stand in power." I confirmed him with a smug look. Of course you would be smug, who wouldn't? I mean, I'm much more stronger than Klaus Mikaelson, bro, even more than Hope! So why wouldn't you be smug? I'm not arrogant or anything, smug and arrogant are entirely different. I'm proud.
"Uhh, what are you going to do with it?" He asked curiously. But my answer was an arched eyebrow, "I mean, you got all that power, won't you try to take over the world?"
I snorted. Yeah, I did. Why shouldn't I? I mean, come on! Taking over the world? That's boring. "Pfft- no way."
"Why?" This guy is really curious, like a new born baby.
"Because, buddy, taking over the world would be a bothersome burden to take. I rather go sleep in bed than have the world in my hand. And I did have the world in my hand, I can just ask the sun to burn earth and they would probably refuse, but that was a possibility." He paled, "yes, I can do that. Just like how I asked for a permission for you. But back to previous topic, I would like to open a café like this rather than ruling the world. And the world wouldn't be a better place with me ruling it, I know. I would ask this to you too, will you?"
Slater looked like a deer caught in a light, "U-uh, no, I guess."
I smiled to him, "my point is, having more power, you have more responsibility on your hand, a word from a wise man. I have so much power, you know?" He don't, but I know he got the gist of it, "Am immortal, have a power over all fire, quarter over other elements, and I could even ask nature, or at least the sun, to grant vampires freedoms if I want to and if they let it. It's hard with just this." I sighed and took a sip on my warm lemonade.
Slater nodded in understanding, "what will you do now? And why did you tell me this?"
"Again, with that question." I rolled my eyes, really? "I found you likeable. And yes, it's because of that, don't worry, if I went back again and again, I will do it again and again. AND, I want to ask you to help me build my own café. And, it's different. I want mine to be not only for vampires, but other species, too. Like my own, humans, werewolves, and many more." I place my cup on the white table, "now, will you help me?"
Slater thought over what I said, before sighing, telling me that he made up his mind, "I will do it. I will help you, but did you decide already where will you build it?"
I smiled brightly, "Now we talk business!"
And I tell him my plans.
Chapter 5: Building my café
Summary:
Building until only that's left to add is the ingredients, tools, and books. Seems easy? Wrong.
Chapter Text
Lovely isn't it, when you have money, I mean.
Look, people, you got to admit it. Having money is lovely because I don't have to deal with shitty things like bills too much.
And that, my dear, is what I'm enjoying right now. Though not exactly about bills. God, I hate bills..
No! I'm enjoying it because I easily gain a land for my café. Like, FINALLY! After a few days of finding a quiet yet strategist place to build a café, I finally found one and well- I got it pretty easily. There were no business rival, and I got to open it while making money like water fall, okay, that's a lie, I couldn't do that, unless you count digging gold but not exactly digging. I mean, the money would come steadily.
Slater promised to help, but I told him to just go travel and fulfill his own dream first, the plan was that I would be taking care of his coffee shop.
Oh, he did asked about the plan on the Scooby-gang asking his help, but I told him, if someone called, I would fetch him from wherever he was. He didn't question me how I'll do it, since the last time he did...let's just say he regretted it.
Now, with the land set, I start to look for a construction company. At first, I thought it would be easy, but I was overestimating my searching ability. Because it took me exactly SIX days to find the right, no-scaming, hard working, construction company in this city. And let me tell you, Richmond is not that small, but it wasn't as big as NYC or any other, this town was pretty small compared to other city in Virginia, except a few like Mystic Falls. So, don't laugh at me being shocked when it took me six days to find the ideal construction company in said city. Cmon, bro! My researching ability was not that bad, it was quite great actually, I got many compliments back in the days I was alive. Wait, I am alive. I mean, in my old world.
Why didn't I ask Slater? I just want to do something, it was boring and I like the process of doing things like this, besides, I like researching. It was one of my talents, or so my friends said.
Sighing, I plopped down on my stomach in my bedroom on my bed. I had been sitting for days and nights. It was quite exhausting, but I got nothing else to do. Making my own café was going to be my reason to fill in the boredom. Working in a café was supposed to be relaxing, it had to be.
Anyway, I was asked to meet the one who was going to lead my project, that was going to be an hour from now and it's going to be in Slater's Suite. I got no where else meet them at. Besides, it's a café, I was going to make my own, with Slater being the co-owner if I weren't around, so if I discuss it in Slater's café it would be fine.
And, I should probably go now. Before I fell asleep.
--
"It's nice to finally meet you, Miss Gíldottïr." The man that was going to lead my café's construction greeted and I accepted his hand shake. His name was Daniel Cray, quite handsome, but nothing like my type, he was blonde with brown eyes.
"It's nice to meet you, too, Mr. Cray." I smiled at him.
"So, how do you want to do this? What theme do you want your café to be? Do you want to plan the structure yourself or do you want me to help?" He was nervous, I can tell. The way his eyes were looking at me and how many questions he was asking me about the construction.
I chuckled, I had dealt with some construction leaders like this to do some of my bidding. So I can tell that this was his first time, and if he fail me, he won't get a raise or promoted. So I guess, I can help him. And no, it wasn't for my family, like I said, we were broke, I don't know how with our powers, my ancestors should be able to make themselves rich, but I guess, it was my other ancestors that waste it. I work with some leaders because of one of my works.
"I want my café to have a warm aura, a welcoming aura, a homey aura, and everything along that way. I planned on making it a wood themed café with a fireplace." He wrote that down on a note I didn't know was there. He was really a newbie, "calm down, young man." I chuckled, "nothing's going to be wrong. I'll be helping you, is this perhaps your first time leading a project?"
He fidget in his seat, "no, ma'am. It's not my first time, but my boss told me that I need to do this right or I would be fired." He look down at his hand.
Poor guy. It was really a drag, but this was my café we're talking about. If it failed, then he wasn't the only one who's getting the bad end of it. "Okay, this is about MY café, anyway. So I'm going to help you. Here is my rough sketch about my café that I'm about to make. And you will make it possible, I trust you."
That seems to be the right words to say to this guy, his face lightened and he skimmed through my sketch that I've been making since yesterday while I was bored and stressed out of my mind.
Daniel had a thoughtful look on before he said, "I can make this possible, ma'am. Can I ask you to guide me to make it possible and get it to your taste?"
I nodded in response and we did a handshake again to seal the deal. Or a form as a seal.
(A/N: I was on edge, so this is badly written, especially with the fact that I had no beta to read it for me)
--
I was on the site that was about to be my café. It was an abandoned house, two story high and two and a half hectare area. Daniel's men were on work moving out the things inside there.
When I bought this land and house, I looked around it for a bit, and found it having two floor basement floor under it. I don't know what the previous owner was planning on using it for, but I don't think it was any good because I found some torture tools. I didn't throw it out, obviously, but I hid it under the ground under the second floor basement.
Since it came to this, I planning on not only making a café, but also a place to hang out. The basement would be used as an arena or some sort for those who wanted to fight I won't tolerate things being done in my café, which was the first floor.
The arena would be in the second basement while I use the first basement as a lounge to relax for my customers and me. Of course, I would need to make the second basement soundproof. I would need to practice my earth and wind elements control to be able to do it.
The second floor, right on top of my café would be an inn. And I would need to move my own house, too, so it would be near. OR I could just move it on top of my café building!
What? Nothing is impossible with magic. If you can bring back the death, why not move a house to be on top of a house? Besides, my home is not exactly attached to the ground, it had some woods that separate it with the ground. And good thing, too.
But that will come later. Right now? Deal with the renovation. Yeah, we decided on renovating instead of making a new one. That one should be obvious.
I instructed things that Daniel couldn't supervise, and they followed as I said, that was probably because I was the one who own the place. Not that I'm complaining.
The house had too much walls, I needed some space. Them make a kitchen on the other side where I wouldn't use as my café space. Daniel was instructing the men upstairs. Destroying some walls was our first step in this renovation.
After we all finished, I instructed them to put a wall between the kitchen, a small space that was near the backyard. And while some did as I instructed, others cleaned up the place from dust and walls remains.
I checked on Daniel, and found him doing a good job. Then I went back down stairs and start to command and demand things from the men again. I wondered why I didn't hire vampires, but then remind myself that if I keep on relying on the supes, it wouldn't be too good when I communicate with the humans.
When the place was clean of wall remains and dust, at least from most of it, I told them to paint the wall a soft forest green color, I'll draw later on my own, and put wooden tiles that feels like ceramics under their feets. It was easy enough, but we needed time. I also told Daniel to paint the rooms upstairs with light wood color, since they kinda make people calm every time they look at it.
I hadn't ordered anything for the furniture. That part was covered by... Well, me. I mean, I can just make it- okay, never mind. I already threw that idea away and asked Slater to order for me. Obviously, custom made.
I ordered a wooden-pure woods, mahogany woods-book shelfs, many of them for the books, which I also planned on to order in another list that I made named 'furniture#café'. I then ordered a few tables, as many as I needed, which were 15 tables, it'll fit in. If it was too many, then I'll just put it upstairs or on the first underground floor. If it still were not enough, I'll order more. And they're also woods. Then the chairs, I'll just use a simple chair, well, not really, I'll just made the chair myself from real woods. I got them covered. Oh, though the backrest, I'll take care of that as well. Oh, I won't be using cushions, too much works, I'll just made the chair soft enough that it'll be comfortable for my future customers.
Man, I'm getting nervous.
I asked Daniel to just go home after the sun died from my face. And they did go home, after many persuasion.
I decided to deal with the small things myself. And while we're doing this, I'm going to practice my powers, like I did every morning when it was only me in my own house.
I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath in and letting it out, I feel the nature around me. And I asked the wind to follow my lead and they accepted. I lead them to circle around the building, and pick up every dust and rust and part of ruins that we had been taking down to make space. Soon after, I lead them out side when they tugged at me, and I opened my eyes.
I was sure my eyes sparkled at the sight in front of me. I mean, I did just make an air ball out of dust and rubbles! I did a great job, hehe.
I try to lead to wind to stimulate the ball together and crushed every thing that was too big into dust. And then pressed it into a center, a little bit more... heh, it seems like the astrophysics books are helping more than I thought it would! I just imagine it like the center I was aiming for were an inti of a star, and I stimulate it, it'll be a ball!
And right in front of me were a ball as big as a tennis ball. Of course it was a hard as a rock, it was made out of dust. And no one could break it, which was the point.
"Thank you~" I said gratefully to the wind. Feeling a light and soft warm breeze before it was gone and leaving me in the natural night cold breeze. The cold didn't affect me because of my natural flame.
Nonetheless, I walked inside again, seeing no dust or smell it in the air, it was freshing.
I smirked as I rolled both of my sleeves, and started to get to the real work. Which were the basement. Because I decided not to tell Daniel and his guys about it, this part was going to be my work.
Oh, this is going to take more time that I wanted it to be.
--
Days passed by quickly, and things progressed smoothly.
The renovation was soon reaching 63%. now that we've add some walls in the places that I thought would be a good place to add them. And then adding the wooden floors and to the walls as well.
My basement project was almost done by now and all I need was the furniture and buy books, antiques. Maybe I'll buy some at the black market. They probably have the oldies right? Well, whatever.
It was now 80% done. All I needed was the furniture, which I already prepared in advance and only need to add the other things. Like ingredients and the books.
Which. That reminds me, where do I get the books? Should I buy them online or go around the world to find them?
I should probably see what else.
The Café is going to open in a month. In that one month, I'll go search for books, Ingredients for the foods, tea, and all kind of beverage can be dealt with in two or a week. And maybe I should try learning how to cook while I'm searching for the books.
Gosh, there are still so many things to do.
Dad, it seems like your daughter will need to work even harder to achieve her dream. And yours, as well.
