Chapter Text

The winters were always harsh here. It touched everything with its icy cold hand of death from the trees to the roads. Max kept the house colder than he should. It gave him great pleasure to have Greta cling to his body for warmth in the night. He is the only one she can cling to. They live in a very secluded place. It is the way Max likes it. Greta has learnt to like it too. At least, he thinks she has.

“Better?” Max asked, as Greta snuggled into his chest and placed a soft kiss to her forehead.

“Yeah,” Greta mumbled, half falling asleep.

“Go for a drive,” you said. It would be fun, you said,” Lauren murmurs curling up on Jeff's lap, head resting against his chest as the snow fell outside the car. It was coming down hard and fast. She isn't really that cold, but would swear to anyone including him that she was. She just needed to be close to him.

“Sorry Darlin, it wasn't supposed to come down this hard,” Jeff replies, rubbing her back, before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. “Hopefully, it stops soon. Not that I don't enjoy our current position, but I would much prefer to be back in the hotel.”

Bela's teeth chatter as she sits on John's lap in front of the campfire. “Why can't we stay in a hotel or motel?” She asked, rubbing her hands together as John wrapped his arm around her waist.

“Here it is safe. This ground is ancient. The demon we are hunting can't reach us here,” John replied, he stopped feeling the harshness of winter after spending way too many hunts like this.

“Not we. You. You are hunting, I just got dragged into it,” Bela mumbled, burying her face into the crook of his neck.

“Sorry about that baby,” John apologised.
