Chapter 1: Prologue
Notes:
Authors Note:
Alright, this is going to be my first serious story, so let me know how it is by leaving a review. Now I chose the main character to be Uryu because he so underused in fanfics. I mean how is there not a story where he joins the wandenreich earlier? Anyway, this story is going to get very dark and I mean dark. All the sternritters worst traits are going to be amped to 100. Also, Uryu in this fic will be very strong and will have a more broken version of Antithesis. So I hope you guys will follows this story and enjoy it.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
"Join me, my son, and I can show you a place in this new world."
-Yhwach
Uryu watched as the soul reapers investigated his grandfather's corpse. His grandfather was defenseless against the large hollows, and where were the soul reapers? nowhere. Why couldn't they be here faster? They knew they were in trouble. The only man he could consider a father was now gone. He wanted to help, but he couldn't because he was scared, so his grandfather told him to go hide. The soul reapers eventually left, and young Quincy left his hiding spot.
Uryu cried as he went up to his grandfather. "Get up, grandfather," said the young Quincy as tears fell down his face and onto the older man's clothes. 'You would still be alive if I were strong enough, maybe Ryuken is right,' he thought as he wiped his tears.
But suddenly, a voice was heard scaring the young Quincy.
"Get up"
Uryu looked behind him to see a man with blonde hair wearing a white uniform, it reminded him of a Quincy uniform, The young Quincy also noticed that he had a sword. The man scared Uryu, as he could sense his power.
"Who are you?" asked the frightened young Quincy.
"Just get up and follow me." He said in a stern voice.
"O-Ok, but who are you?"
"My name is Jugram."
"Why do you want me to follow you?"
"Because his majesty request's your presence."
Uryu cocked his head in confusion. "W-Who's his majesty?"
Jugram narrowed his eyes. 'Is he not aware of his culture'
Souken Ishida may have been a traitor, but to not tell the boy the existence of the wandenreich was just foolish.
"I'm talking about Yhwach, the king of the Quincy," said Jugram.
Uryu's eyes widened. There was a Quincy King, and there were more Quincy's?!
"My grandfather said I was last Quincy. Are you telling me there's more?" asked Uryu.
"Yes, there are more Quincy's in a place called the Schatten Beriech," answered Jugram.
"Why does the Quincy King want me?" questioned Uryu.
"That I can't answer," said Jugram. The older Quincy had the same question. Why? What was so special about this boy?
Uryu thought about what Jugram said. Did the Quincy king really request his presence? What would his father think? Wait a minute, why would his father care? He wasn't a Quincy anymore. Besides, he didn't want to go home after they had that big fight. "I'll go, but can I say goodbye to my grandfather first?" asked Uryu.
"Fine"
Uryu turned towards his grandfather's dead body, went towards it, and kneeled down. Seeing his grandfather like this hurt him, he still couldn't believe he was gone. "Goodbye, Grandfather, I'm sorry. I was too scared and weak to help you" he said as tears started coming down his face. He then turned toward Jugram. "I'm ready to go."
Jugram nodded before putting his arm out, summoning a shadow shaped like a doorway.
"Come on," he said as he pointed to the portal.
Uryu looked at the portal in fear. "W-What is that?"
"It's the Quincy shadow technique; it helps us get to the Schatten Beriech," answered Jugram as he turned around and walked into the portal, making sure to look back to see if Uryu was coming.
Uryu walked towards the portal and looked back at his grandfather. "I love you, Grandfather," he said before stepping into the portal.
?
When Uryu opened his eyes, he saw that he was in a throne room, It was like nothing he had ever seen before. The floor was made of reishi, and he could see crosses everywhere on the walls. What really caught his attention was the man sitting on the throne.
"What is this place?" said the young Quincy.
"His Majesty's throne room," Jugram said while walking towards the throne.
Uryu's eye's widened. "The Quincy King!"
"That's right, my son."
Uryu jumped at the man's voice. The man gave the young Quincy a smile, making Uryu calm down. The young Quincy then bowed as he remembered reading books about eastern Europe.
"y-you requested me, sir?" questioned Uryu nervously.
The man chuckled, "Yes." He then got up and walked to Uryu and said, "Follow me, my son."
Uryu followed the man down the dark hallway.
"What is this place?"
"Were in the Silbern," the man said as he stopped at a window.
Uryu looked through the window at the city with amazement. A city full of his own people, he wondered why his grandfather and father lied to him about it.
"Uryu, do you know why I brought you here?" asked Yhwach.
"No sir"
"You're here because you have a power that can surpass my own." Said the Quincy king.
Uryu's eyes widen, he had a power that surpassed the Quincy King?!
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes, my son," Yhwach said with a smile as he looked out the window. He then turned his attention to Uryu, who looked at him with confusion. "What's on your mind, my son."
"Why didn't my grandfather say anything about this?"
"Your grandfather, Souken Ishida, abandoned us years ago," Yhwach said.
Uryu looked hurt by this. Why would his grandfather abandon his own people, and why would he lie to him?"
"B-But Why?"
"Your grandfather disagreed with our ways, Uryu."
What did he mean by that? Uryu wanted to hear more but was interrupted as a messenger came forth and bowed in front of Yhwach.
"Your majesty, the ceremony is ready."
Yhwach looked at the messenger and dismissed him,
"Come, my son."
"W-Where are we going?" Uryu asked nervously.
Yhwach looked at him with a smile. "To welcome you home."
THE SILBERN-THE CATHEDRAL
Bambietta Basterbine was the newest to be picked to be a sternritter; she was only a kid, making her the youngest to be picked. It was like a dream come true when Yhwach went into the orphanage and personally picked her. She was happy that people would finally acknowledge her greatness. While she was happy the other sternritter were not, they didn't know why Yhwach would give an important position to someone so young. If there was one thing Bambietta hated about being a sternritter, it was the constant meetings she would have to go to.
"Ugh, can this thing just start already?" she said out loud as she stomped her feet, making the soldats behind her nervous. They had been serving her for nearly a month, and she had already killed 30 of her soldiers just because she was impatient.
The other sternritter just gave her a mean glare, to which Bambietta noticed, "WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS STARING AT!"
Robert Accutrone, sternritter "N" then spoke up, "It would be wise to not make such noise in his majesty's holy cathedral."
Bambietta just scoffed, "Old bastard."
Robert had a flash of anger as he was about to say something until Jugram walked on to the stage.
"Raise your crosses!" he yelled.
Yhwach then walked out onto the stage. "My sons and daughters, I've brought you all here for an announcement," he said out loud.
All the sternritter leaned in.
I've brought someone from the human world to help us forge a new world." Yhwach then looked to his left and waved his hand. "Come out, my son."
Everyone in the room was shocked when a young Quincy came out.
"Who is that?"
"Why is he on the same stage as his majesty?"
Uryu was nervous as he heard all the whispers.
Yhwach then put his hand on Uryu's head. "This is Uryu Ishida, the last Quincy in the human world." He then took his hand off his head and said, "I hereby name him my successor."
Everyone's eyes widen, this little brat was Yhwach's successor.
"I will not stand for any objections, and if any harm comes to him, you'll be executed." Said Yhwach. He then looked at Uryu. "Come along, my son," said the Quincy king as he walked past his newly appointed successor.
Uryu nodded as he followed Yhwach off the stage.
The sternritter's looked at each other, not knowing how to process this information.
"A Gemsicht is our future emperor!" yelled sternritter 'Q' Berenice Gabrielli.
"And from a traitor family no less" said sternritter 'O' Driscolll Berci as he picked at his ear.
"Surely his majesty had a reason to choose him as his successor," said Robert Accutrone.
Meanwhile, Bazz B was wondering why Jugram wasn't protesting his majesty's decision—was he not angry that he put all his time into leading wandenreich while his majesty was asleep only to get nothing out of it? He wanted to get on stage and confront Jugram but couldn't, as he had already left.
"WHAT?! THAT DORK IS OUR NEXT EMPEROR!" Yelled Bambietta as she jumped up and down. The soldats backed away nervously as this was a common Basterbine meltdown, and when that happens she starts releasing explosions everywhere.
"Hey brat, shut up; your voice is annoying," said Driscoll as he covered his ears.
Do something about it, you ugly bastard!" yelled the young sternritter as she summoned a ball of reishi.
Suddenly, Bambietta felt a hand on her shoulder. "May I remind you that fighting among sternritter is forbidden unless it's been authorized by his majesty. Do I need to tell your caretaker about this?" said Robert Accutrone.
"GAH!" Yelped Bambietta as she backed away. "Don't touch me again, you old geezer!"
THE SILBERN-DARK HALLWAY
As Uryu and Yhwach walked down the dark hallway, he noticed he was getting a lot of mean stares from soldats and maids. It was clear that people didn't like the fact that he was the successor to Yhwach.
"Where are we going, your majesty? Said Uryu.
"To a feast in your honor," said the Quincy King.
"Why?"
"I would like you to meet your fellow sternritter."
Uryu looked at him, confused. "Sternritter?"
"Holy knights I've assigned schrifts to."
Uryu wanted to ask what a schrift was, but before he could, they had arrived at a giant dining hall. The dining hall table was filled with food like turkey, ham, rolls, etc. The young Quincy's mouth nearly watered at the sight.
Yhwach took a seat at the head of the table and pointed to a seat on the left of him.
"Sit, the sternritter will be here soon."
Uryu sat patiently before a door opened, revealing young Bambietta Basterbine, who gave the new successor a dirty look, making the newly appointed successor gulp in fear.
'She's scary,' he thought as he adjusted his glasses.
"Young Basterbine I've see you have joined us" said Quincy king.
Bambietta immediately bowed before Yhwach, "Yes, your majesty." She then walked over to the table and took a seat next to Uryu.
"Um, H-Hello I'm Uryu Ishida, N-Nice to meet you," said the new prince as he put his hand out.
Bambietta just gave a nasty look at the boy.
"U-Uh, okay then," said Uryu as he put his hand down.
The doors then opened, revealing all the rest of the sternritters who gave Uryu the same look that Bambietta had given him.
"I'm glad you all can join us, I wanted to have this dinner in honor of the prince, and afterwards we can talk about his training," said Yhwach.
The sternritter's sat down and started eating. Uryu could feel the tension as they looked at him, it was only made worse when Bambietta started kicking Uryu from under the table.
"Can you stop that?" said the prince.
Bambietta just smirked. "Nope," she said as she kicked him again.
As Uryu was about to say something, he was interrupted by another voice. "Now, Bambi, is it really a good idea to kick the prince?" said a tall dark haired man on the other side of Bambietta.
The little, black haired Quincy looked to her left. "Mind your business, Askin; I'm just seeing what's so good about him." She then kicked Uryu again from under the table.
The newly appointed prince sighed as he knew this person was going to be a problem, but she was Quincy around his age, so maybe he should try to be friends with her. So Uryu then looked at the young girl and said, "Look, maybe we got off the wrong foot, but why don't we try to be friends."
Bambietta just looked at him like he just offended her entire existence. "Why would I be friends with a gemischt like you?"
Uryu cocked his head in confusion. 'What's a gemischt?' he thought. As he was about to ask that question, he was interrupted by Askin.
"Bambi, I know you have feelings for the prince, but you shouldn't be so rude to him," he teased.
Bambietta immediately turned toward the man with her cheeks flushed red. "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!" she yelled, but as she did, she noticed everyone looking at her, including Yhwach. Now Bambietta wouldn't normally care about what the other sternritter thought, but his majesty was here, and that was different. So she got up and bowed, "M-My apologies, your majesty." She then sat back down on her seat.
Yhwach just sighed before putting his fork down. "Now that you all have eaten, we need to discuss Uryu's future here and prepare him for the war against the Shinigami, so I'm assigning you each a day to train him."
Uryu looked at Yhwach with a confused face. While he didn't like the Shinigami, he still believed in his grandfather's philosophy about soul reapers and Quincy working together to stop hollows.
"But shouldn't soul reapers and Quincy work together?" said Uryu.
Everyone at the table dropped their silverware. What nonsense was this boy speaking? Soul reapers and Quincy working together—why, that's preposterous!
Bambietta had a smile on her face. 'Your so dead, Gemischt bastard' she thought.
But to everyone's surprise, Yhwach chuckled, which was rare.
"And why do you think that, my son?"

I ask you guys to please be patient with me as I am a slow writer due to me not having much free time. So, yeah, if you enjoyed the story leave a review, I would love to hear feedback.

Chapter Text
"Why do you say that my son?" said Yhwach.
"W-Well, my grandfather believed that Quincy's and soul reapers should work together to protect humans from hollows." Said Uryu nervously.
Bambietta and the other sternritters looked at Uryu like he was stupid.
"Leave us" said Yhwach.
And without question all the sternritter besides Jugram left the dining room. Uryu could see Bambietta giving him a smirk as the doors shut.
"Do you believe in that?" asked Yhwach.
That was a good question, did he? Uryu remembered seeing his grandfather go meet with the Shinigami only to see his disappointed face when he came back. It was clear that the soul reapers would never even give his grandfather's proposal a chance about Quincies being first responders to hollows.
"I-I don't know but I think it's possible" answered Uryu.
The Quincy King sighed; he knew the boy wouldn't give up so easily on his grandfather's stupid philosophy. "Your grandfather has a strange philosophy, but I'm afraid it's a flawed one." Yhwach then put his fork down. "Souken Ishida couldn't understand that peace could never happen with the Shinigami, as they want a world filled with fear."
"What do you mean?" asked the young Quincy.
"Are you aware of what happens to a Quincy when they die?"
Jugram furrowed his brow. 'is he really telling him this?' he thought. Jugram knew the true reason Uryu was here, it wasn't because Yhwach genuinely wanted Uryu to be his successor, no it was because Yhwach wants to find a way to use his power for his own gain. The boy was an oddity being able to survive aushwallen.
"D-Don't they go to the soul society."
"No, all of my children's souls go to me when they die."
Uryu's eyes widened, he could only think about what kind of being Yhwach was.
"Ever since I could remember I can hear and experience the fear of my children as they die."
"So does that mean my grandfather's soul went to you when he died." Asked the young Quincy.
"I'm afraid your grandfather's soul was extracted by the soul reapers." said Yhwach.
"Then why couldn't you save him?"
Yhwach gave the prince a look of sadness before getting up and going to a big window that faced city. "Come here my son" he said as he waved his successor over.
Uryu came over to Ywach and asked the same Question "Why couldn't you save him?"
The quincy king then put his hand on his successor's shoulder "We tried to my son but by the time we knew about it was already too late.
Jugram knew This was a lie by Yhwach as he knew Souken was in trouble but didn't care as he saw it as a chance to take Uryu
"Is there a way I can see him then" said Uryu with last bit of hope he had.
"No"
"W-Why not?"
"If he's been taken by the soul reapers there's no doubt he's been tortured and killed."
Jugram eyes widened he knew that Ywach was trying to manipulate the boy, but he didn't know he would be so blunt about it.
Tears started to go down Uryu's face. Why would the soul reapers do something so terrible to an old man?
"Why would they do that?" he asked while sobbing.
Yhwach then pulled Uryu into a hug which surprised Jugram he had never seen Yhwach like this, to see him pretend to be sympathetic was odd.
But to Uryu this was what he needed now. The only other people who gave him a hug was his grandfather and mother.
"Because we Quincy threaten their world of fear." Said the Quincy king as he let go of Uryu.
"What do you mean?" said Uryu as he wiped his tears.
Yhwach thought about if he should tell Uryu about his goal as the boy still needed to be reeducated. So, the Quincy king decided to not tell Uryu yet, not until he was fully committed to him, and his grandfather's philosophy and teachings completely snuffed out of him.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you that right now, not until you're ready." answered the Quincy King.
As Uryu was about to say something until a knock was heard at the door. Jugram walked out of his corner and proceeded to open the door revealing a beautiful tall woman with blue eyes and black hair, she wore a Quincy cloak with the wandenreich symbol on the back of it. When she walked into the room she bowed giving Ywach her respect.
"Young Greystone, I didn't see you at dinner."
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it your majesty, I got held up by some by some people that weren't happy about the announcement and don't worry they been dealt with."
Greta Greystone was an odd sternritter that Jugram had recruited when ywach was in slumber. In fact, a lot of the sternritter didn't think to highly of her as they thought her schrift was useless but what she lacked in her shcrift she more than made up for it with her skills in Quincy abilities and hand to hand combat, so much so that she was Quilge Opie's favorite student. Mrs. Greystone served another purpose though as she was Bambietta's watcher. The new sternitter was too young to do some of her duties, so Greta had volunteered to look after her.
"I see." Ywach then looked at his successor. "Uryu, this is Greta Greystone she is in charge of watching you and young Basterbine"
Uryu cocked his head. "Why do I need someone watching me?"
This time Greta spoke. "Because not everyone accepts you as his majesties successor and they might try harm you."
Uryu's heart stopped, did his own people not like him?
Yhwach then put his hand on Uryu's shoulder. "It's getting late my son and you had a tough day, you should get some sleep because you have training tomorrow."
Greta then got up and grabbed Uryu's arm gently and led him out of the room leaving Yhwach and Jugram alone.
The Quincy king sat back down in his chair and turned his attention to Jugram. "I want every book that mentions Aushwallen destroyed and tell all the sternritter that they are forbidden from talking about it."
Silbern-Dark Hallway
The walk was silent as Uryu and Greta walked down the hallway. The prince looked at his new caretaker, he could tell by her presence that she wasn't like the other sternrittter as she had motherly look to her.
"Excuse Ms. Greystone?" asked the prince.
Greta turned her attention to the boy, completely surprised by his kindness. She was glad he wasn't a brat like Bambietta
"Why don't the other Quincy like me?" he asked.
Greta only sighed "because some people don't like the idea of a gemischt like you being his majesties successor."
Gemischt. Bambietta had called Uryu that earlier. Was it an insult?
"What's a gemischt?" asked the new prince.
'A million questions this one' thought Greta. she smiled at Uryu but as she was about to answer a voice interrupted.
"It means your useless."
Greta immediately sighed because that voice belonged to an annoyance she was assigned to watch over.
"Now, Bambietta is that any way to talk to the prince" said Greta as she crossed her arms.
"Whatever, can we just get your room lackey, I'm tired" Bambietta said as she yawned.
A tic mark grew on Greta's forehead. "I'm not your lackey and in case you forgot I'm your caretaker Basterbine, so that means you listen to me you little brat!" she yelled. The older sternritter then calmed down, it was ridiculous that she was fighting with a kid.
Uryu just watched as the two girls fought in front of him but that stopped as Bambietta brought her attention to him.
"What's he even doing here, I thought his majesty would have killed him for saying such rubbish." Said Bambietta as she referred to Uryu's earlier comments about soul reapers and Quincy working together.
'she's really mean' thought Uryu.
"I've been assigned to watch over him, so no one tries to hurt him" explained Greta.
"What! So that means he has to stay at our place!?" yelled Bambietta.
"Hey, stop yelling it's late and people might be trying to sleep." said Greta.
"Whatever let's just go" pouted Bambietta.
Greta sighed as she started walk making Uryu and Bambietta follow her. The prince could feel Bambietta's eyes as they felt like daggers stabbing into him.
The three eventually got to a door with a giant S on it.
"All right here we are" Greta said as she opened the door.
Uryu looked into the room and was amazed. The room was all blue with nice furniture and a kitchen, he could see that the room had stairs towards the left of it that no doubt led to more rooms. As the prince was about to step into the room, he was pushed by an annoyed Bambietta.
"Ugh, will you just move already!" she said as she shoved Uryu to the ground.
Uryu felt the cold floor as he hit it, glasses had fallen off and he was worried that they would break.
"YOUNG LADY YOU GET BACK HERE AND APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW!" Yelled Greta but Bambietta had already gone to her room and closed it. "AND YOU BETTER NOT LEAVE THIS APARTMENT!" Greta finished.
"I-Its fine" said Uryu as he got up and put his glasses on
Greta only sighed. "I'm really sorry about her, I know she can be rude" as she said that she noticed the gemischt yawn making her smile. "Let's get you to bed" she said as she led Uryu tom his room.
Couple of minutes later
Uryu was tucked into his bed. Greta had supplied him some pajamas that had Quincy crosses everywhere on it.
"So ya tucked in" said Greta as she stood next to Uryu's bed but as she was about to leave she noticed tears in young gemischt;s eyes. "What's wrong?"
"All the people who care about me are gone" said Uryu as he started sobbing.
Greta felt bad for the kid because she knew what it was like to not have family as she had grown up in the orphanage but wait didn't he have a father? She went back to the bed and crouched to where she was eye to eye with the gemischt. "What about your father?"
"He doesn't care about me; he doesn't even care about being a Quincy because there's no profit in it. All he cares about is money and not saving people from hollows!" cried Uryu
Greta leaned in and gave the prince a hug. "You don't have to worry about that anymore, you're with your own kind now."
"But they don't like me."
"They will come around eventually because you will be a great prince."
Uryu started to calm down. "How do you know?"
"Because his majesty sees a great power in you and he's never wrong" Greta said with a smile.
"Can you sing to me?"
"W-What?"
"M-My mother used to sing to me whenever I cried" he said shyly.
Greta just chuckled before saying "Sure." So that's what she did, she sang to the prince till he fell asleep.
Hours Later
Uryu tossed and turned in his sleep. Images of his grandfather getting slaughtered by hollows constantly flashed in his mind.
"No leave him alone!" yelled Uryu as he awoke. He then started to cry as he remembered that his grandfather was gone.
He looked around in his room as Greta wasn't there anymore. Uryu really wished she was here so she could sing him back to sleep.
"I need some air" he thought as he got up, got his glasses on and left the room.
The prince avoided the servants as he walked down the dark hallway, no doubt they wouldn't be happy if the prince wasn't in bed. Uryu also didn't want people to see him as he still had tears on his face. The gemischt Quincy stopped at a window that had a view of the city, it looked nice as it temporarily put him at ease.
"Oh, you're here," said a voice.
Uryu panicked as he turned around only to be met with Bambietta. Now Uryu had mixed opinions on the girl as it was clear she didn't like him.
"What are you doing here?" asked Uryu as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing gemischt," Bambietta said as she went up to the prince. She had a sadistic smile on her face as she saw the tears on Uryu's face. Oh, this is going to be fun. "Are you crying?" the bomb throwing sternritter said while laughing.
"N-No"
"Oh, I think you are. I can't believe our prince is a giant baby."
Uryu was taken aback at the rudeness of this girl, why was she so mean? He had been nothing but kind to her.
"Are you ok?" asked Uryu.
Bambietta stopped laughing. Why was he asking her if she was, ok? He should be mad, she insulted him!
"What do you mean am I ok?"
"Well, you're being mean for no reason" said Uryu innocently.
"Mean? God you are pathetic!" exclaimed Bambietta.
"Are you done?"
"Am I done? Are you going to say anything back! Come on grow a pair and fight back!" yelled Bambietta as she poked the gemischt's chest.
"W-Well my grandfather always said its pointless to get into useless squabbles."
Bambietta looked at Uryu with fury. It was kind of funny how red her face got.
"Useless squabble! Everything I do is of the upmost importance!" she yelled.
At this point servants were starting to investigate the noise Bambietta was making.
"Hey, calm down there going to hear us" Uryu then grabbed Bambietta's hand making her blush.
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! UNHAND ME YOU BASTARD!"
Uryu then shushed her. "Come on. let's go over here."
The two quincies ran to another wing of the castle and hid in the kitchen.
"Alright, I think we got away" said Uryu.
He then looked at Bambietta who was shaking with rage.
"Don't you ever touch me again" She growled.
"W-Well I'm sorry but we had to move because you were making to much noise and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be up at this hour either."
"Tch, whatever I'm only up at this hour because I'm hungry, so I guess you did something useful" she said as she went to the pantry.
"Now that you mention it, I didn't really get to eat" said Uryu as he went to the pantry.
'Well, get something" she said as she grabbed a bag a chips.
"Um can I get some of those."
"No"
"Oh ok"
Bambietta growled. Why wouldn't Uryu defend himself? "You are such a wimp, and wait a minute, why are we running from servants?" She said this as she angrily stomped on the ground.
"Because were not supposed to be up" said Uryu as he remembered what Greta said to Bambietta.
"So, we can just kill them" said Bambietta nonchalantly.
"W-What?" said Uryu
Bambietta scoffed. "Do you not have ears, I said why don't we just kill them, I mean I do it all the time." She then looked over at the exit. "Come on let's get back before that old witch gets up."
The young female Quincy then ran out of the kitchen leaving Uryu alone to think about what he had just heard. 'did she say kills her subordinates?'
Couple of minutes Later
"Bambietta, why do you kill your subordinates?'" asked Uryu.
"Because I'm their superior."
"That still doesn't give you the right to kill them."
Bambietta stopped. "Who cares there just soldats"
"But they're still our people!" said Uryu.
Bambietta then quickly put her hands on the prince's mouth. "Shut up you idiot before they- "
"There you guys are!" said a female voice.
Bambietta didn't get to finish as Greta grabbed her arm.
"Was that Hirenkyaku" thought Uryu
"Young lady, you're supposed to be in bed" Greta then turned her attention to Uryu "and you to young man" she said as she grabbed his arm.
The walk was silent as she dropped Bambietta in her room and Uryu in his. As she tucked Uryu in, the young Quincy had a question.
"Now why did you leave your bed Uryu" Greta with disappointment in her face.
"I'm sorry I just couldn't sleep" Uryu said.
"Well, at least you said sorry unlike Bambietta." Sighed Greta.
"Greta, do you think Shinigami and Quincy can work together?" asked Uryu.
The older Quincy was taken aback by the question. Usually this question would get you killed if you asked it but this was the successor.
"Uryu, I think your grandfather was a good man but I think he was too kind" said Greta.
"Did you know him?"
"I've seen him before" answered Greta.
"What was he like?"
Greta smiled. "He was a little weird but he was nice"
It was Uryu's turn to smile. "He was the only one to teach me the Quincy craft"
Greta then started to rub his head.
"Greta, I want to end the suffering among both races, just like my grandfather."
The older sternritter felt a sense of sadness as she knew the boy's philosophy would soon be crushed.
"Can you sing to me, Greta" asked the young Quincy as he started to get tired.
Greta smiled and began to sing to the young prince again.
In The World of The Living
Isshin Kurosaki was awoken by a knock on his door.
"W-What?" said the ex-Captain.
As he got his bearings right, he could sense who was knocking at the door.
"Ryuken?" he thought to himself as he went down the stairs and opened the door.
"I can't find him" said Ryuken as he stared at the ground.
Who?"
"My son"
Isshin's eyes widened. "Uryu's missing"
"Those bastards took him!" Ryuken said with anger as punched the wall.
Issshin immediately knew what he was talking about. Ywach, the bastard that was responsible for his wife's death.
"Why would he take Uryu?"
"Because my son is the only gemischt Quincy to survive aushwallen"
"What about his grandfather?"
Ryuken just looked at the ground. "He's dead"
Just then a voice was heard from upstairs. "Dad is everything okay?"
Isshin turned around to face the stairs. "It's fine, Ichigo. Im going out for a bit, so watch your sisters." He then shut the door and faced Ryuken. "Let's go"
Back to the Schatten Beriech
"Hey sweetie wake up," said Greta as she gently shook the prince.
Uryu awoke to the sound of Greta's voice. It honestly reminded him of how his mother used to wake him up.
"W-What?" said Uryu as he woke up.
"It's time to train, so get up," she said as she threw a uniform at him.
Uryu looked at the uniform with interest. It was a White trench coat with a wandenreich insignia on the left of it. It also came with black boots and a black belt.
"Oh, yeah here you go" said Greta as she threw a cap near him. She then went to the door that led into the hallway. "Hurry up and change so you can get breakfast because you meet with Quilge opie in an hour."
Uryu was only left with his thoughts as the door shut. Just who was Quilge Opie?
After Uryu changed he went to go meet Greta in the dining room only to meet Bambietta who was sitting at the table.
"Finally, you're up" groaned Bambietta
"Were you waiting for me?"
"Uh yeah, she wouldn't let me eat till you woke up."
Greta came through the door wearing her sternritter outfit, her attention immediately went to Uryu
"Alright hurry up and eat."
Uryu looked at the table, it was filled with eggs, bacon, and sausage. It looked delicious as the gemischt sat down and ate but as he did a question hit his mind.
"Who's Quilge Opie?"
"Just some asshole" said Bambietta as she ate her eggs.
Greta just gave her a glare before looking at Uryu. "He's the leader Jagdarmee but he's also the combat instructor for the sternritter, in fact most of the stenritter were trained by him" explained the older sternritter.
"He must be strong then" said the prince.
"He is" said Greta.
"I don't know why I have to go train and learn about blut when I have my schrift," said Bambietta as she leaned back in her chair.
Schrift. Uryu had heard Yhwach say that he assigned these schrifts to the sternritter. What are they?
"what's a schrift?" asked the prince.
A schrift is a letter his majesty bestows on your soul to awaken an inner power." Greta then turned her attention to Bambietta "Bambietta was chosen because his majesty sensed a great power from her and awoken it."
Bambietta just smiled she loved when someone praises her.
"What's her schrift?" asked Uryu
As Greta was about to explain she was cut off by Bambietta.
"My ability is called THE EXPLODE, it allows me turn anything my reishi touches into a bomb." She then looked at Uryu "Pretty cool don't 'cha think." Bambietta said as she was about to put a fork full of egg in her mouth.
"I guess"
Bambietta dropped her eggs. "What do you mean 'I guess' it's a great ability!"
Greta only sighed at Bambietta's anger. "All right hurry up and eat, Quilge is waiting."
The Combat Arena
After breakfast Greta took the prince and Bambietta down to the training area. As they opened the door they were greeted by a large dome-like room with an arena in the middle. Uryu noticed that the stands had the letters of all the sternriters.
"Ahh isn't it his majesties successor." Said a man wearing a sternritter outfit with a cap on his head.
"Who are you?" asked Uryu
"I'm Quilge Opie" he then conjured a sword. "Let's begin today's training."

Chapter Text
Ryuken was tearing through his father's old stuff, trying to find anything that would give him the strength to get his son back from those bastards.
"Ryuken, calm down." Said Isshin
"I can't damn it; they have my son!" Ryuken yelled back as he threw a box at the wall.
"I know they do, but throwing things isn't going to bring him back." Isshin was interrupted when Ryuken pulled a box out of a drawer.
"What is that?" said the ex-captain.
"The Sanrei glove, it allows me to transcend the power of a normal Quincy, but in turn, I will lose my Quincy powers," said Ryuken as he pulled the glove out.
"Where do you think you're going with that?"
"To the wandenreich," he said as he was about to put the glove on, only to be stopped by Isshin.
"And how do you think you're going to get there?"
"I dont know but my father must have something here"
"Ok, and do you know how many Quincy's are in the Wandenreich?"
"No but..."
"Look, let's calm down and think this through, maybe Kisuke has an idea" said Isshin.
Silbern-Combat Arena
Greta and Quilge stood in front of Bambietta and Uryu. In this training session, they were going to go over basic Quincy techniques.
"So today we are going to practice blut," said Quilge.
Bambietta groaned, but Uryu cocked his head in confusion.
"What's blut?"
Bambietta snickered. "Idiot"
Greta gave the young sternritter a glare before Quilge spoke.
"It's a Quincy defense technique where you summon reishi directly into your blood vessels." Said Quilge as he activated Blut. He then looked at Uryu. "I'm guessing your grandfather didn't teach you that."
"No, he didn't."
"Oh, please, I don't need blut," said Bambietta.
Greta then gave her smug grin. "Are you saying that because you're not good at it?"
Bambietta then had a flash of anger. "What was that? Come say it to me!"
Quilge put his hand up. "Enough of this nonsense." He then brought his attention to Uryu. "Try it"
Uryu brought his hand and focused Reishi in it, but it wasn't easy as the boy struggled.
' I knew this would happen; he's a gemischt Quincy; there's no way he can use blut yet,' thought Greta, but her thoughts came to a screeching halt as Uryu's hand started to glow blue for about two seconds.
'What the hell! How is he able to use blut so quickly? It takes a few years of training for a gemischt to even use it for more than a second, but Uryu just managed to learn it in seconds,' thought Greta.
Quilge wasn't surprised, the boy had survived his majesty's holy selection and was the grandson of Souken Ishida. Souken was an odd man, he and Quilge never got along because he would always hold back the wandenriech's technological advancements.
'While he managed to activate it, he still hasn't mastered it,' thought sternritter "J.". He then went up to the young Quincy. "You know, I don't think I've ever seen a gemischt use blut that fast. Good job, young Ishida."
"Thank you, sir," Uryu said as he bowed.
"Suck up," thought Bambietta.
Quilge then brought her attention to Bambietta. "Your turn, Basterbine."
Bambietta just scoffed before putting her arm up and activating blut. She was able to hold it for about 20 seconds.
'She has better blut control than young Ishida, but that's expected considering she's pure blood, but it's still weak; if I swung my sword on her, it would absolutely break through,' thought Quilge.
The sternritter trainer then went up to Uryu. "Young Ishida, how proficient are you at using a bow?"
Uryu rubbed the back of his head. "Well,"
30 minutes later
"My God." Said Greta as she watched Uryu shoot perfectly in the center of the target for the last 20 minutes.
The boy was a complete prodigy when it came to using a bow.
Meanwhile, Bambietta was frustrated because she missed the center of every shot. Uryu noticed this as he looked at her.
"Um, Bambietta, maybe if you con-" The gemischt didn't get to finish as Bambietta yelled at him.
"SHUT UP!"
"He's right, you have to concentrate, young Basterbine." sighed Quilge
Bambietta was not good with a bow, as she preferred to just use her schrift and sword. She didn't care how un-Quincy it was.
The explosive Quincy lowered her bow and looked at Quilge. "What's the point of using a bow when I could just blow everything up?"
"Because a sternritter must be proficient in every skill, you can't just be reliant on your schrift; besides, your explosions can easily be tanked by someone with high durability such as myself," said Quilge.
Bambietta growled. "How dare you insult my schrift!" She then smirked, "At least my schrift is useful, unlike yours; I bet I can even beat you."
But to the explosive Quincy's surprise, Quilge just chuckled.
"You want to put that to the test."
This caught Greta and Uryu's attention.
"Quilge, she's way too weak to fight you!" yelled Greta.
Quilge put his hand up to silence her. "Don't worry, Ms. Greystone. I won't kill her. I'm just going to teach her to respect her superior."
Bambietta went up to Quilge. "Will See About That!"
"This isn't good," said Greta.
"Why not?" said Uryu.
Greta was worried for Bambietta. Quilge Opie was one of the most brutal sternritters that served under Ywach, and because of that, he was assigned to train the next generation of sternritters.
She looked toward the prince. "Uryu, Quilge isn't like your grandfather; he doesn't believe in mercy and honor. His methods are more" Greta tried the words, but all she could come up with was "Extreme."
Quilge got into a battle stance. He was a little excited to finally teach this brat some respect.
Bambietta put on a sadistic smile. 'Finally, an excuse to wipe that sly grin off this asshole's face,' she thought.
"All right, come at me, Basterbine." Quilge said as he drew his sword.
"Fine, I can't wait to wipe that grin off your face!" yelled Bambietta as she conjured her reishi sword and ran towards Quilge.
'She's very slow,' thought Quilge as he waited for Bambietta to get near.
"AAHHH!" yelled Bambietta as her sword collided with Quilge's.
*Clang*
Bambietta started to viciously swing her sword at Quilge, but it didn't matter as the combat instructor parried every attack. Seeing that her sword attacks weren't doing anything, the young quincy backed off, summoned a ball of reishi from her left leg, and kicked it towards Quilge.
"TAKE THIS!" Bambietta yelled as the ball of reishi went towards Quilge.
*Boom*
Bambietta watched with a sadistic grin but stopped when the smoke cleared. Quilge Opie just stood there with blue emitting from his veins; he had completely tanked her explosion.
"It didn't do anything."
"Of course it didn't do anything." Quilge said as he took off his cap and patted it down. "My level of skill far surpasses yours, young Basterbine." He then vanished and appeared behind Bambietta, knocking her down with the hilt of his sword.
"Was that Hirenkyaku?" Asked Uryu
Greta looked at Uryu before replying. "That's the name of it in Japanese, but around here everyone calls it 'Schneller Schrit' (it means quick step in German)."
Bambietta lay on the ground; her lip was bleeding from the impact. It was obvious the girl never faced an actual strong opponent. Greta could only watch in worry, as she didn't want Bambietta to be hurt. Greta knew that if Quilge wanted to teach someone a lesson, he was damn well going to teach someone a lesson.
"That's it, right?" Said Uryu, but as he looked towards Greta, he could see her having a face of concern, but why? This is only a spar. "Why is she so concerned?" thought the prince.
His question was soon answered as Quilge went up to the girl and started kicking her.
"Now do you see what happens when you don't pay attention to my orders, Young Basterbine?" he said between kicks.
Bambietta was starting to cry at this point. All her life, she had been the one in Quilge's shoes, picking on the ones beneath her. Back at the orphanage, she was known as a bully, as she would constantly torment the other kids for fun.
Greta had seen enough, but what could she do? Ywach had given Quilge strict orders to toughen up the new generation of sternritters by any means necessary. If she interfered, he would tell his majesty, despite being his favorite student.
"What's he doing? He's hurting her!" Uryu said as he ran towards them.
Greta immediately snapped out of her thoughts. "Uryu, stop!" she yelled as she went after him.
Quilge was smiling as he kicked the newest sternritter, but stopped once he heard crying. This made him angry; he hated weakness.
"Please stop," said Bambietta in between sobs.
Quilge then brought his sword up. "Crying has no place here; I guess I'm going to have to leave a permanent reminder that weakness has no place in the wandenreich." Said Quilge as he brought his sword down, only to have it blocked.
Quilge's eyes widened. Uryu Ishida had blocked his attack using blut vene to protect Bambietta.
Greta looked in shock. "Did he just use Shneller Schritt? Most Quincy's his age can't even use that."
Quilge smiled. "So, I see Souken taught you Shneller Schritt, and I'm surprised your blut caught most of my attack. You're lucky I didn't use full force, or I would've cut off your arm."
He said most because, while Uryu did block it, he could only block the sword for about ten seconds until his blut went out and cut a little bit of his arm.
"Why are you hurting her? The match is over," said Uryu as he winced in pain.
Quilge put away his sword. "Young Ishida, the match is over when I say it's over, but I think that's enough for today." He said this as he turned away.
But Uryu wasn't done yet, as he went up to Quilge. "she's hurt! Why would you go so far?!
Bambietta looked up at Uryu with a blush. 'Why is he defending me?' She thought.
Quilge turned around. Normally, if anyone else yelled at him, that would result in punishment, but this was Yhwach's successor. "I had no intention of killing her; I was just going to slice a bit of her cheek." He said this as he went up to Uryu. "She needed to learn to respect her superior."
"But she was cry..." Uryu didn't get to finish, as Quilge cut him off.
"There is no room for weakness in the Wandenriech. I hope to snuff that out of you in the future. You never give your enemies mercy, just like how the soul reapers didn't give it to your grandfather," said Quilge as he turned around and left.
Uryu could only stand there in silence as Greta came up behind him and tapped him.
"Let's go," she said as Bambietta was on her back, sobbing.
"Why didn't you do anything?" yelled Uryu
Greta and Bambietta were taken aback by the boy's outburst.
As Greta was about to respond, a voice cut her off.
"My son, how was training?"
Upon hearing that voice, Bambietta got off Greta's back and bowed.
Greta did the same and tried to get Uryu to bow, but the boy didn't listen.
As Yhwach and Jugram walked into the training room, they could see Uryu's arm bleeding.
"I take it not well," Said Yhwach.
Uryu ran up to the Quincy King because he wanted to tell him what Quilge did.
"Yhwach, Quilge kicked Bambietta when she was already beaten; he kept kicking her, making her cry."
"Uryu, what are you doing?!" thought Greta. She was worried about the young Quincy, as it was obvious he didn't know how things worked here.
Bambietta could only watch in shock. 'What is this idiot doing?' she mentally screamed.
Yhwach chuckled, finding the boy amusing. "Well, young Basterbine has a lot to learn, then."
"What do you mean she has a lot to learn? That man was hurting a defenseless girl! My grandfather said, Any man who hits an unharmed woman is a coward!"
Everyone stared wide-eyed at this; no one ever talks to his majesty this way.
"Then how else would she get stronger?" asked the Quincy king as he chuckled.
"We could nurture and cultivate strength instead of just beating it into someone!" yelled Uryu.
Jugram then gave Uryu a look that said, "Watch your mouth."
Yhwach then brought his attention to Bambietta and Greta. "My daughters, what's your thoughts on this?"
Bambietta and Greta were taken aback by the question. It wasn't every day the Quincy King asks you a question.
The newest sternritter was struggling to answer the question as she feared getting it wrong. "Your Majesty" but she didn't get to answer as Greta cut her off.
"Your majesty I think the prince has been misinformed about what it means to be a true Quincy. Bambietta will take Quilge's lesson to heart and get stronger." said Greta.
Yhwach looked at Bambietta.
"What she said, your majesty," said the newest sternritter. She didn't want to admit it, but she was glad that Greta answered her.
Uryu could only look at Greta in shock. Why was she saying he wasn't a true Quincy? What happened to that kind woman who sang him to sleep?
"What are you saying, Greta?" Uryu said as he started to tear up.
Greta gave Uryu a sad look, as she didn't mean what she said, but she feared what Yhwach would do if she answered wrong.
"If this is what it means to be a true Quincy, then I don't want to be one of you guys!" Uryu said as he ran off.
Yhwach sighed before looking at Hashwalth. "Get him"
Jugram nods before turning around and retrieving the prince.
As Greta was about to get up, Ywach put his hand up. "Leave him be and tell me everything that happened.
The Silbern-Dark Hallway
Uryu ran down the hallway with tears in his eyes. He lost respect for Yhwach, he was no different than Quilge. Were these people really Quincy's? What they preached went against everything his grandfather said, but Quilge's words wouldn't leave his mind.
"Don't show mercy to your enemies, just like how the soul reapers didn't show any to your grandfather."
Did he have a point?
From what Yhwach had told him, his grandfather was taken to the soul society and killed, but that doesn't mean he should go against his grandfather's teachings. No, his grandfather was right they needed to end this endless bloodshed and work together.
'I want to go home' thought Uryu.
But as the boy ran down the hallway, he heard something, causing him to stop.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Uryu knew who the voice was and turned around. "Jugram," said the young Quincy.
"What you did in the training room was disrespectful to his majesty." He said this as he walked up to Uryu.
"I don't care! What Quilge did was cruel!" yelled the young Quincy.
Jugram's eyes narrowed as he walked up to Uryu and grabbed him. "Listen, his majesty sees greatness in you, and you showed him disrespect. Someone like you should be grateful to receive power from him. Now, you are going to go back there and apologize to him."
"I won't!"
Jugram took a deep breath dragging him back to the combat arena.
"Stop It! Let me go!" screamed the young prince.
As Uryu was being dragged down the hall, he could see all the soldats looking at him and whispering.
"Tch, what a brat."
"Is this really our future emperor?"
Jugram could only sigh; he was the grandmaster, and here he was dragging a brat down the hall. It was only made worse as a certain voice hit his ears.
"It seems you're having fun," said Bazz B.
"Bazz B, what do you want?"
Uryu looked up to see a man with a pink mohawk looking at him with a scowl.
"Are you really okay with this gemischt brat leading us?" Bazz B said as he pointed at Uryu.
Uryu was starting to hate that word.
"I was under the impression that you were his Majesty's successor; most of the sternitters would be fine with you being the leader, so why are you just sitting there fine with this?" Said Bazz B.
'He was supposed to be the successor before me? Why was he replaced?' thought Uryu.
"Get out of the way, Bazz B," said Jugram as he took his hand off from Uryu's arm.
Bazz B looked at Uryu, making the gemsicht back way in fear, before turning around and leaving. The pink-haired sternritter wasn't done with Jugram but decided to confront his ex-friend later.
"you should get his arm wrapped up its bleeding" he said as he walked away.
The sternritter grandmaster looked at Uryu's arm. He was right the apology would have to wait.
Jugram then grabbed Uryu's arm and made his way to the infirmary.
The Silbern-The Infirmary
Uryu watched as the nurse wrapped his arm with bandages.
"You're lucky the cut isn't too deep, my lord." said the nurse.
"T-Thank you"
The nurse nodded before leaving, but as she turned, she bowed as Ywach entered the infirmary.
"Leave us" he said.
The nurse then nodded as she got up and left the room.
"I heard that you managed to use blut," said the Quincy King.
Uryu turned around and faced the wall. "I want to go home."
Yhwach sighed before sitting down next to him.
"Uryu, while you are my successor, that still doesn't mean you can defy me, so don't talk to me like that again," said Yhwach. He then put his hand on top of his head. "Why do you want to go home?"
"I just want to see my dad; everyone here is a monster."
"Why would you want to go home? To my knowledge, your father doesn't care about you."
The prince then turned around as he was shocked at what he just heard. "W-What?"
"I'm pretty sure your father revoked his Quincy heritage and said you have no talent for it; that doesn't sound like he cares for you, so why would you want to leave the people who want to train and bring you to your full potential?" said Yhwach
Uryu who was still in shock at what Yhwach said to him shook his head. "You're lying, he does love me!"
"Does he? To my knowledge he has said that you had no talent in the Quincy craft, that sounds like he doesn't have much faith in you," Yhwach then brought Uryu closer "but I do my son."
The Quincy king was trying put more of a strain on Uryu and his fathers relationship and it was working as he saw that his successor was in deep thought as his words lingered in the prince's mind.
Ryuken's words played in Uryu's head.
"You have no talent for it."
Uryu started to cry; tears were hitting the floor like heavy rain. He hated his father; he never cared about him; hell, he wouldn't even train him. Yhwach is right; Ryuken was holding him back from his true potential.
Ywach smiled, now he just needs to get him to hate soul reapers
"It's true he doesn't like me! "Cried Uryu.
The prince then looked at Yhwach with determination and said, "I want to be a strong Quincy and protect people from hollows."
Ywach smiled and said, "That's good, my son."
To be continued.
Notes:
Authors note.

Now for Bambi fans keep in mind, Bambietta just became a sternritter and hasn't mastered her schrift, so that's why she lost easily. Anyway, Leave a review!
Chapter 4: It's ok to be scared

Chapter Text
"That's good," said Yhwach as he smiled.
"But that doesn't mean I'm going to subscribe to your philosophy. I'm going to be a different type of Quincy from you people." Said Uryu as he looked up at Ywach with determination.
Yhwach just gave him a smirk. "will see about that because, like it or not, Uryu, you will see the truth."
This just gave Yhwach the idea to make Uryu's training ten times harder.
Jugram then walked into the room, and in his hand was something wrapped in a cloth.
"What's that?" asked Uryu.
"It's a gift from me to welcome you to your true home." Said the Quincy King
Uryu looked down in sadness as he realized this was his home now. He was never going to see his father again, but then he remembered what Yhwach told him, and he was right—his father never cared about him. The prince then looked up to see Jugram hand him an object that was wrapped in cloth.
The object was a little heavy making Uryu pick it up with two hands.
"Go ahead and open it," urged the Quincy king.
Uryu then unwrapped the cloth to find a sword that was similar to Jugrams but it was different as the pommel had the Wandenriech symbol on it. The sword had a unique design engraved on the blade. It was the letter A, but it was upside down.
"It's a sword!" said Uryu, who was surprised.
"Yes, and you will begin training with Jugram today." Said Yhwach as he pointed over to Jugram who was waiting for the prince by the door that led into the hallway.
Uryu wanted to groan. He had just trained, and he had to do more?
"Is there a problem, Uryu?" questioned Yhwach.
Uryu's eyes widened. What was he doing? Damnit, he wanted to get stronger, and here he is about to complain about training.
"N-No, but why do you want me to train with a sword?" he asked. The young Quincy had never used a sword before, hell he didnt even know Quincy's used swords.
"Because I want you to be proficient in a lot more than using a bow," answered Yhwach.
The prince thought about what Yhwach just said, and it made sense that if Uryu wanted to be a strong Quincy, he had to learn all the skills he could.
The successor then got up as he didnt want to keep Jugram waiting but before he left, he looked at the Quincy King and asked, "Yhwach, when will I get a schrift?"
Jugram wanted to facepalm. This kid really got comfortable at calling Yhwach by his name.
"Whenever I think you're ready for one," said Yhwach as he got up and walked past his successor but before he left the infirmary he looked at the young Quincy and said "and Uryu, you will address me as your majesty from now on"
Uryu nodded before looking at Jugram, who only looked at him with disappointment before turning around and leaving. The gemischt Quincy sighed at Jugram's disappointed look. This was going to be a tough day.
He still didn't like the philosophy of the wandenriech, but he also wanted to get stronger, and it's not like he had anywhere else to go. It's not like his father would look for him.
Silbern-Combat arena
Jugram stood before the new successor. The sternritter grandmaster could see Uryu struggle to hold the sword. He knew Yhwach had requested it be a little heavy so the boy would get strong physically.
'This sword is kind of heavy,' thought Uryu as he held his new broad sword with two hands.
"You need to learn how to address his majesty." Said Jugram.
Uryu didn't respect Yhwach after knowing about his philosophy, he didn't care if they thought he wasn't a real Quincy. He was not going to kill a defenseless person for showing a sign of weakness but he had to agree with the sternritter grandmaster as it would be wise to not piss Yhwach off. So from now on Uryu will call Yhwach his majesty.
"I'll make sure to not make that mistake again" said Uryu.
"Good, now strike me," Jugram said as he took his sword out of his sheath.
Uryu looked at Jugram with wide eyes. "But what if I cut you?"
Jugram sighed before lowering his sword. "Do you honestly think you can hurt me with the power you have right now?"
"N-No"
"Then strike me."
Uryu took a deep breath before running towards Jugram. "RAAAH!" yelled the prince as he held his sword up, preparing to strike.
'He's slow,' thought the sternritter grandmaster as he put his guard up and waited for Uryu to get near.
But before Uryu could assault Jugram, he used Hirenkyaku to appear behind him.
'He's wide open,' thought Uryu as he swung.
*CLANG*
But it didn't matter, as Jugram blocked it by putting his sword behind his back.
Uryu was shocked. 'He blocked it without even turning towards me,' thought the prince.
"You're slow," said Jugram before turning around and hitting the prince with the hilt of his sword.
"GRAH!" yelled Uryu as he hit the ground. The prince didn't expect to get hit. He could feel his nose bleeding as tears fell from his face. He was lucky it wasn't broken.
"W-Why did you do that? Isn't this a training session?" Uryu said as he got up and covered his nose. The top of his uniform was starting to turn red as blood from his nose fell on it.
"Just because this is training doesn't mean I'm going to hold back. Do you think the soul reapers are going to hold back? Now strike again," demanded Jugram.
Silbern-Dark hallway
Greta walked down the hall with Bambietta. The poor girl had just gotten stitches from the infirmary.
"I can't believe we missed him! Where the hell is he!" stomped Bambietta.
The explosive Quincy was angry; how dare Uryu defend her like that, making her feel like some helpless person.
Greta sighed. "I told you he's training with Hashwalth."
"He's training again?"
"Yes, he will train a lot more than you will."
Bambietta smirked. "It makes sense that a wimp like him needs all the training he could get; I mean, he is a gemicht after all."
Greta just rolled her eyes before looking at the newest sternritter.
"Bambi, I'm sorry about today." She said this as she put her arm around Bambietta.
The femritter swiped Greta's arm off her. "Tch, oh, please, he got a lucky shot. I'll get him next time."
Greta felt sadness for Bambietta; she really wished she would be honest with her and admit she was scared. Being a sternsterner at such a young age was a lot of pressure, and the poor girl needed a break. At that moment, Greta had an idea. "Hey Bambi, since I have business to attend at the orphanage, how about you and Uryu come with me tomorrow?
Bambietta lit up before calming down; she hadn't seen her friends since she became a sternritter. "Well, it would be good to see what my lackeys are up to too," she said in a nonchalant tone.
Greta just smiled before turning the corner and arriving at the training room. What she didn't expect was to see Uryu on the ground. The poor boy was all bruised and bloodied up after being hit with the back of Jugram's sword.
'Jugram, what the hell did you do to this boy!' thought Greta.
"One more time!" the sternritter grandmaster yelled out.
Uryu slowly got up, grabbed his sword, and ran towards him. The sternritter grandmaster had noticed that the prince had only one hand on his sword instead of two. The boy had gotten physically stronger and in only two hours of training.
'I won't go hard on him this time' thought Jugram as he blocked Uryu's strike.
*CLANG*
The force of Jugram's block made Uryu stumble backwards, making his sword that lay in his right hand go past his body. As the prince recovered, he could see Jugram rushing toward him, ready to strike.
'Oh no! I can't block it with my sword. Wait a minute, what about blut?' thought Uryu as he activated blut vene and parried Jugram's strike with his left hand, giving Uryu a free pass to Jugram's right shoulder.
'Let's see if he strikes,' thought the sternritter grandmaster.
But as Uryu was about to bring his sword across his chest and slash Jugram's shoulder, he stopped. For some reason the young Quincy couldn't bring himself to strike.
'Just as I thought, he hesitated.' thought Jugram as he elbowed Uryu, knocking him into the ground.
"Why did you hesitate? Was it because you thought you could hurt me, or were you scared to take my life?" Asked Jugram.
Uryu got up from the ground and held his bloody nose. "I-I don't know."
"I know the answer; it's because you've never killed anything in your life, not even a hollow. How are you going to get stronger if you hesitate to strike me? Get over this fear of killing if you want to get stronger."
Uryu looked at the ground. 'He's right, if I'm going to get stronger, I'm going to have to kill things, but I won't do it like the people here. I won't harm someone who can't fight back.' he thought.
Jugram looked to the right to see Greta. "Were done for today," he said, walking past the two sternritters. He noticed Greta giving him a dirty look as he walked past her.
Bambietta then walked towards Uryu as she was about to rip into him. The prince noticed this and looked towards her, smiling as he was happy to see she was ok.
"Bambietta I'm glad yo-" but the poor boy didn't get to finish as he was interrupted by a fiery sternritter angrily pointing at his chest.
"HEY, WHY THE HELL DID YOU DEFEND ME?!"
"B-Because you were crying."
Bambietta's face went red with anger. "I WASN'T CRYING!"
"Yes, you were. I saw it when you were on Greta's back."
Greta couldn't help but snicker; she never saw Bambietta this angry.
As Bambietta was about to respond, a hand went up to her forehead, making her blush.
"You tore your stitches up," said Uryu as he stopped the blood before it got to her eyes.
"W-what g-get off!" yelled Bambietta as she threw Uryu's hand off of her forehead.
Greta saw that Uryu's nose was starting to get bloody, so she made the decision to go back to the infirmary. "All right let's get you guys stitched up again.
30 minutes later
Uryu, Greta, and Bambietta walked out of the infirmary. It was late, so Greta thought it would be a good idea to go back to the apartment.
"Alright, guys, let's get back to the apartment." Greta said as she walked down the hallway.
Uryu just nodded; he still didn't like what Greta said to him and had no intention of talking to her. Suddenly, an elbow came right towards his ribcage, making him wince in pain.
"Ow," he said as he rubbed his ribs. He didn't need to see the person who elbowed him, as he knew it was Bambietta.
"That was for touching me," mumbled the femritter.
Uryu was starting to get angry with Bambietta; he had been nothing but nice to her, and this was the thanks he got?
"Why are you like this?"
Bambietta just looked at him and rolled her eyes. "Because I'm not a wimp like you."
Oh, that was it!
"Funny coming from someone who cried because they got kicked!" said Uryu. Once those words left his mouth, he immediately covered them; he hadn't meant to say that.
Bambietta gave him a look that said, "Say something else; I dare you."
"Look, I'm sorry; I didn't mean to say that." panicked Uryu
Greta then turned around. "Hey, what's going on?"
"So this is his Majesty's successor!" said a booming voice.
Greta and Bambietta turned around to face a large man with a chinstrap beard.
"What do you want, Driscoll?" said Greta.
Driscoll Berci was one of the most psychopathic sternritter and would just kill anyone for fun.
Uryu was intimidated by the man in front of him, as there was something wrong with him. He looked towards Bambietta to see her reaction to the man, but only saw her being annoyed.
"Um, who are you?" asked the prince.
"Driscoll Berci Sternritter, 'O' The Overkill"
Uryu's eyes widen. 'The Overkill!?' thought the prince. Just what ability could he have? The young Quincy then got the courage to ask him why he was here.
"Why are you here?"
"Oh right! I'm here to tell ya that your training with me tomorrow," said Driscoll he picked at his ear making Bambietta gag in disgust.
Greta then looked at Uryu. 'So that's what you're doing, your majesty?' thought the black-haired sternritter. Greta knew that Hashwalth told Yhwach that Uryu was scared to kill, so he was going to give him to Driscoll for the day to do god know what.
Bambietta just stood there bored, hoping this conversation would end, but the prince just kept asking more questions, to the point where she couldn't take it anymore.
"Ugh, will you just move already? I could care less about your stupid conversation!" demanded the newest sternitter
Driscoll snapped his head towards the young Quincy. While Greta just facepalmed. 'This girl really needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.' she thought.
Driscoll then had a look of anger; he and all the other sternritters hated this brat. She had been nothing disrespectful to all the other sternritters, so that's why it was a treat hearing what Quilge did to her, and honestly, he wished he had clearance to knock some sense into her. The overkill then had an idea as he heard about the girl crying.
Driscoll then brought his fist together to conjure a giant arrow and aimed it at Bambietta, scaring the poor girl as she fell to the ground.
Bambietta looked like she was going to cry as flashbacks of her match with Quilge played in her mind. The girl had developed a fear of death, and here she was staring right at it until Greta Greystone stood in front of her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!?" yelled Greta.
Driscoll just laughed as he put the giant arrow away. "Will you calm down? I was just scaring the little brat."
Uryu just watched as Bambietta had tears in her eyes and then looked at Driscoll in anger before going up to him. "That wasn't funny!"
Driscoll was taken aback by the prince, but all he could do was laugh. "HA HA HA, oh, come on, look at her face, and she's supposed to be a sternritter!" Driscoll said as he turned around to leave.
Uryu just watched in rage as the man walked away but calmed down as he remembered he needed to see if Bambietta was okay.
"Um, Bambietta, are you okay?" he said, going towards the bomb-throwing Quincy.
"I'm fine," she mumbled.
Are you sure?"
Bambietta then looked at him in anger. "I SAID IM FINE!" yelled the newest sternritter as she ran off.
Uryu looked on in sadness; he really hated this place. Suddenly, Greta put a hand on the prince's shoulder.
"Let's get back to the room."
Uryu just shrugged Greta's hand off his shoulder, as he was still angry with her.
Silbern-Greta's apartment
Uryu threw himself on the bed when he got to his room. He was tired from all the drama and training from today and just wanted sleep. He had been told by Greta that he was going to the orphanage with her and Bambietta the next day.
"Hey Uryu," said Greta as she opened the door.
Uryu flipped to the side, as he didn't want to talk to Greta.
The sternritter could tell he was upset with her, so she went to the foot of his bed and sat down.
"Look, I know you're upset with me for saying that awful thing to you, but Uryu, you have to understand; I didn't have a choice."
"I thought you were a good person." mumbled the prince.
Greta sighed; she knew this was pointless. "I'm sorry, Uryu," said the sternritter as she got up and left the room, but before she did, she grabbed Uryu's new uniform to clean it.
The prince waited for the door to close then took his glasses off and went to sleep.
?
Uryu walked down a dark hallway as he wondered what all the noise was. It looked like it was coming from one of the medical rooms his father had built.
As he got closer to the room, he could see his father's shadow holding what looked to be a scalpel.
'What's he doing?' thought Uryu as he went into the room.
What Uryu saw shocked and disgusted him. Ryuken, his father, was cutting his mother's corpse.
"D-Dad, what are you doing? "Why are you cutting, mommy!?"
Ryuken snapped towards his son. "Damnit, Uryu, why aren't you in bed!?"
"Please stop doing that to mommy, daddy" said Uryu as tears started to fall.
Ryuken sighed in frustration before looking at his son. "Uryu, please go to bed."
"No, I won't, not until you stop cutting her!" yelled Uryu.
"URYU!"
The gemischt froze, as he'd never seen his father this angry. Ryuken then calmed down.
"Just go to bed, son." Ryuken said as he went up to his son and led him out of the room.
Back to reality
Uryu opened his eyes; he hadn't had that dream in over a year. He didn't know why his father did that to his mother.
"Mother, why couldn't you be the one who lived?" muttered Uryu.
The prince couldn't sleep, so he got out of bed and left the room. He wanted to look out the window that was In the living room, something about the sky just puts his mind at ease. As he left the room, he was greeted with Bambietta on the couch crying. The prince wondered if he should say something; I mean, every time he tried to help her, she would always snap. However, Uryu couldn't do that, so he spoke up.
"B-Bambietta, are you okay?" said the concerned prince.
Bambietta snapped towards the prince. she quickly rubbed her face to avoid him seeing her cry, but it was too late, as Uryu knew already.
"Im fine!" She quickly yelled.
Uryu just sighed as he went to the couch and sat on it. "You know it's fine to be scared."
Bambietta looked down, avoiding Uryu. She couldn't admit that she was scared. She was the great Bambietta Basterbine, not a scared little girl.
"I'm not scared," she muttered.
"I'm scared," said Uryu.
Bambietta looked at him in surprise.
"When my grandfather was attacked by hollows, I wanted to help him, but he told me to go hide, and honestly," Uryu then began to cry as memories of that day came flooding back. "Part of me was scared, and I think my grandfather knew it too and that's why he told me to go hide, so that's the reason I want to get stronger, to get rid of that fear," he said as he wiped his tears.
Suddenly, Bambietta flicked Uryu's head.
"Ouch!" he yelped as he rubbed his head.
"That was for touching me earlier and for crying," said Bambietta as her cheeks flushed red. She hated that this dork's speech got through to her.
Uryu just looked at her in confusion; he just didn't get Bambietta.
"Ishida, you're going to teach me Schneller schrit, and in return, I can teach you how to use your sword better because you suck at it," demanded the femritter.
Uryu could only smile. 'I guess I got through to her,' he thought.
"Because a scared wimp like you sure needs it." finished the femritter.
'Well, I kind of got through to her.'
To Be Continued
Notes:
So Uryu will get to leave the silbern for the first time and see what the rest of Shatten bereich is like, and yes, I gave Uryu a sword because, why not? (He still has his bow). Also, don't worry; Bambietta will eventually warm up to Uryu. The next chapter will be mostly comedic and focus on Uryu and Bambietta's friendship. Oh yeah, the other members of the Bambis will make an appearance.
Chapter 5

Notes:
Authors note:
Alright, here is a new chapter for y'all. Now this will be my interpretation of what life in the schatten beriech is like, and it will be dark. However, there will be a little bit of comedy with Uryu and Bambietta.
Last time on prince of light
Uryu trained with Jugram and got told that if he wanted to get stronger, he needed to get rid of his fear of killing and Greta promised to take Bambietta to see her friends at the orphanage. Later, Uryu woke up to see Bambietta crying and told her that it's ok to be scared and told her about how he was scared to fight the hollows that his grandfather fought.
Now enjoy!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Uryu woke up to see Greta staring at him with a smirk.
"What are you doing?" asked the prince.
"Oh, just looking at this adorable sight," said Greta.
Uryu just stared at her in confusion before looking to his right to see Bambietta sleeping on his shoulder. She looked peaceful, like she was a different person.
"Um, Bambietta," said the prince as he shook her, waking the newest sternritter up.
"W-Wha-" Bambietta then immediately noticed where she was and looked at Uryu with a mixture of anger and embarrassment. "Get off," she growled as she shoved Uryu and got off the couch.
'Well, there goes the peace,' thought the gemischt Quincy as he got up and looked at Greta. Ever since his conversation last night with Bambietta about being scared, he's realized that's probably why Greta said those things to him. "Hey Greta, I'm sorry I've been mean to you."
The sternritter sighed as she got on one knee to meet him. "Why the sudden change?" she asked.
"Because I realized that you were scared and that you had no choice, maybe most of the people aren't actually evil but are just scared." Said Uryu
'Well, I wouldn't say most,' thought Greta.
"Hey, are we going or not?" said Bambietta as she came out of her room wearing a new sternritter uniform. This time she wore a trench coat-like skirt with knee-high boots and a red heart on her belt buckle, complete with a wandenreich cap.
"Relax, we're going," said Greta as she went to her room to change.
Bambietta just rolled her eyes; she hated waiting. "Just hurry up!" she yelled. The explosive sternritter then brought her attention to Uryu. "You tell any of my henchmen about what happened this morning, and I'll kill you."
Uryu just ignored Bambietta's threat and asked "What's the orphanage like?"
"Depressing, there's nothing to do but train and get lectured about our history," answered Bambietta.
The prince nodded before asking another question. "Hey Bambietta, can you train me how to use a sword better at the orphanage?"
"No way I have business with my henchman, "scoffed the young sternritter.
Uryu rolled his eyes. He wanted to get some practice with his sword before training with Driscoll later. "And what business do you have? Aren't you just visiting them?" asked the prince.
Bambietta rolled her eyes. "It's none of your business."
"Fine," sighed the prince.
The two sat on the couch in silence as they waited for Greta to get finished. Uryu couldn't lie; he was excited to leave the silbern and go out into the city. He looked at Bambietta, who was looking at the ground in boredom. He then remembered the conversation from last night. Maybe she isn't a bad person; sure, she's a little rough, but maybe this whole act was a cover.
"Hey Bambietta, do you really want me to teach you shneller schrit?" asked Uryu.
Bambietta blushed in embarrassment. "Yes, but don't think you're comparable to me, because you're not. You're just lucky that you know a technique that I don't know, and you better not tell anyone I want you to teach me!"
Uryu nodded before asking, "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your parents?"
Bambietta just shrugged. "I don't know; I never met them, but they were probably loser low level Quincy"
The prince looked at Bambietta with a shocked expression. How could she say that, so casually, did she not care for her family? "Why do you think your parents are losers?" asked Uryu
"Because I heard they both died during combat training," replied Bambietta.
"Well, I'm sorry," said Uryu.
"Don't be it's not like my parents liked each other or loved me. Hell, the only thing I have to remember them by is my fathers last name."
"What do you mean?"
The young sternritter was starting to get annoyed by all the questions. "You ask so many damn questions!" yelled Bambietta. She then calmed down before answering, "Because they were probably just ordered to have me."
"Ordered?"
Bambietta just rolled her eyes. "When a female Quincy turns eighteen, they are required to have a baby every five years, so we can have more soldiers. Luckily, female sternritter are exempt from this."
"W-what if they don't want to?"
"Then there fo-"
"That's enough, Bambietta," said a voice.
Uryu turned around to see Greta dressed in a wandenreich trench coat that went down to her ankles, with a black pair of gloves that had the wandenreich insignia on them. She then completed her outfit by putting on a standard Wandenreich cap. "Here," she said as she handed Uryu a bag.
"What is this?" he asked as he grabbed the bag.
"It's your new uniform," she said with a smile. Greta then pointed towards Uryu's room and said, "Go change in there."
And so, he did.
Greta then brought her attention to Bambietta: "Let's go outside and wait for him."
The wait was silent as Greta and Bambietta waited outside the apartment but that silence was interrupted by the youngest sternritter's complaining. "Ugh, when is he getting out here!?"
"What's wrong? Are you upset that your boyfriend is taking so long?" teased Greta
Bambietta stuck her tongue out in disgust. "Ewe, boys are gross!"
Suddenly, a voice was heard.
"Gi Gi Gi Gi, oh, isn't that great young love in the air?"
Greta's heart stopped and she immediately shielded Bambietta from the voice. She knew that voice anywhere, and she was not going to let Bambietta see where it came from.
"What the hell are you doing here!? I remember saying, stay the hell away from me!" yelled Greta.
Bambietta's eyes widened; she had never seen Greta this angry before. Just who was this guy? The youngest sternritter jumped to peak over her watcher's shoulder to see a fat, dark-skinned, obese man with glasses.
"I'm just here to see the prince, that's all," explained the obese man. He then noticed Bambietta behind Greta. "Hello, Ms. Basterbine. I believe I haven't introduced myself," he said as he tried to put his hand over Greta's shoulder but was slapped away.
"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HER!" yelled Greta.
"Oh, Ms. Greystone, is that any way to treat your former superior?" said the obese man as he rubbed his hand.
'She worked under him?' thought Bambietta.
Greta started to raise her spiritual pressure, but not enough to make Bambietta fall to the floor, but enough to get the message to tell the man to fuck off.
"Gi Gi Gi Gi, well, it was nice to meet you again and tell the prince he has my full support," he said as he floated away.
"Who was that? I've never seen him at the meetings," said Bambietta.
Greta turned around and kneeled to meet the youngest sternritter, eye to eye. "Bambietta, promise me you will stay away from that man."
Bambietta frowned and crossed her arms. "Who is he and why?"
"His name is Pepe Wacabrada, and he's dangerous, especially towards women, so steer clear of him." Warned Greta.
"Oh, please, I can take him." Said Bambietta with confidence.
"NO, YOU WILL NOT!" yelled the oldest, the femritter, making Bambietta back away in surprise. Greta immediately apologized. "I'm sorry, but please stay away from him."
"Tch. Fine"
The door opened, revealing Uryu wearing a uniform like the one from yesterday but with a black cape with the Wandenreich insignia on the back. They also noticed that his sword was attached to his left hip.
"Are you not wearing your cap?" asked Greta
"I don't feel like wearing it," said Uryu as he rubbed his arm. "What was the spiritual pressure I felt?" he asked.
"Don't worry about it," said Greta as she turned around and started walking.
Silbern-Dark hallway
Bambietta was having fun tormenting the prince as she flicked the back of his neck. She really wanted to make Uryu snap like yesterday, but the boy hardly reacted, and that pissed her off. It was like a game for her. She hated his whole nice shtick, and this was supposed to be her new emperor? She was only going to train him in swordsmanship so she could have fun hitting him without any repercussions. However, she couldn't lie Uryu was right, she needed to get stronger to get rid of this fear but she hated that this gemischt dork was the one that made her realize it.
"Ow!"
Uryu then turned around to see a smirking Bambietta ready for him to snap like yesterday, but no, the boy just sighed and turned back around, making the youngest sternritter growl in anger. "Wimp," she muttered to herself.
Uryu may not be reacting on the outside, but on the inside, he was near his limit. 'What is her problem?!' he thought as he walked near Greta.
Suddenly Greta stopped, making the two younger Quincy stop as well. Uryu noticed they were by the kitchen that he and Bambietta snuck into the first night he was here.
"Why are we stopping?" questioned Bambietta.
"I'm going to get us a bite to eat," said Greta as she went into the room.
'Hurry up, my minions are waiting for me!" yelled the youngest sternitter as she stomped her feet.
She then turned to Uryu and went up to him. "Let's go," She said as she pointed at one of the doors that led outside. It was guarded by two soldats who stood still on both sides.
"Should we wait for Greta?" asked the prince.
"Screw Greta, I'm tired of waiting," said Bambietta as she walked towards the door.
The two soldats were nervous upon seeing the newest sternritter. Bambietta had a reputation for being horrible to soldats and assistants.
"You two, let us through," demanded Bambietta.
One of the guards gulped before saying, "I'm sorry, Lady Basterbine, but we were not permitted to let you out without Lady Greystone."
Bambietta growled. She was a sternritter; damnit, she can go where she damn well please. "How dare you not let me through!" She then conjured Reishi in her right hand. "You know what happens to soldiers who don't follow orders."
Suddenly, Bambietta felt her hand being grabbed. "Stop it," said Uryu as he grabbed her hand, making the ball Reishi disappear.
The two guards looked at the scene with wide eyes. Did the prince just save them?
"What are you doing?" asked Bambietta.
"I should be asking you that. Why are you threatening them?" said Uryu as he let Bambietta's arm go.
"Because they won't let me through. I gave them an order, and they should follow it."
"But they have orders from somebody else, probably from Yhw... his majesty. So, stop being such a brat, and let's wait for Greta"
Bambietta and the two guards looked at the prince in shock. The newest sternritter was furious at how Uryu spoke to her, but she had to give him credit he wasn't being a wimp, still though no one tells her what to do.
"Who do you think you are to grab me?!" yelled the sternrittter.
Uryu took a deep breath before saying "Look, I'm getting re-"
Greta came into the room with apples and other types of fruits. "Here, eat these," she said as she handed Bambietta and Uryu various kinds of fruit.
"I'm sorry you have to have rushed breakfast," said Greta as she walked towards the guards, who immediately moved out of the way.
Wandenreich city
Uryu looked up at the sky. He could feel the cold air hit his face; it had to have been like forty degrees. It was no wonder there was frost everywhere. As he kept walking through the city, he noticed that almost every Quincy he passed gave him dirty looks, it was obvious they still didn't like him.
'It's so cold,' he thought as he walked behind Greta and Bambietta. "Hey, Greta, why are we going to the orphanage? " Asked Uryu
She then looked back at him with a smirk. "Because were getting a new sternritter"
Bambietta's head went up at this news: "Wait, we're getting another sternritter?"
"Yep, just like with you, his majesty senses a great power from the Kinder Center," said Greta as she kept walking down the street.
"Kinder center?" questioned the prince. (Kid center in german)
"That's the real name of the place me and Bambietta are from. We just call it the orphanage because it may as well be one," said Greta. She then looked back at the prince. "Uryu, we don't have noble families here like you do in the world of the living. Here in the Schatten beriech baby quincy are taken from their mothers and taken to the Kinder center to be trained as a soldats."
Uryu's eyes widened at that information. That was just sad. The prince was beginning to understand that this city wasn't really a city; it was a military complex.
"Oh, we're here," said Greta as they arrived at the gate.
The gate to the Kinder center was huge; it had the Wandenreich symbol right in the middle of it and frost right on top of it. The place looked depressing, like Bambietta said it did. Uryu could see other Quincy children looking at him from the other side of the gate with intrigue.
"Is that him?"
"Yeah, that's his Majesty's successor."
"Is that Bambietta Basterbine?"
"Oh, wow, she actually looks like a sternritter."
Uryu looked to see Bambietta smirking; she was loving the attention, while Uryu was nervous.
"Oh, lady Greystone, it's you. I'm guessing you're here for him... or…. her?" said a older female Quincy who was on the other side of the gate. She looked to be around Greta's age. She had two soldats around her as well.
Uryu's eyebrow raised. Just who was she or him?
"Hey, I demand you open the gate and let me in!" demanded Bambietta.
The woman looked towards the two young Quincy and immediately bowed. "Prince Ishida and Lady Basterbine, I'm sorry, I will open it immediately."
Greta looked back at Bambietta with a tired face. "You couldn't ask nicely?"
"Hpmh"
The gate opened as the three went into the courtyard. Uryu could feel the eyes of the other kids as he walked past them, it felt like a knife in his back.
The prince looked around the courtyard to see Quincy shooting helig pfiels at targets. He could tell they were being overworked as their hands were bloody from all the arrows they shot. The instructors were brutal, as they screamed bloody murder if they stopped shooting. They were yelling in the kids' faces like they had broken something. The prince could see a black-haired boy crying as the older man yelled at him and slapped him. It honestly reminded him of Quilge, and that pissed him off. He wanted to go over there but was stopped by Greta.
"No Uryu" she said as she held him.
"Greta, this is terrible; their hands are all bloody." said Uryu as he pointed towards the target area.
"I know, but you'll only do more harm than good," said Greta as she led him away.
That was true, why Uryu may be the prince; he was not the king, and stopping practice would surely get back to Yhwach, and that would not be good.
The Quincy trio eventually made it to the entrance of the Kinder center. "You guys stay here," said Greta as she walked up the steps. She then looked at the newest sternritter and said, "Bambi, I'm putting you in charge of watching the prince."
"What!" yelled the youngest sternritter.
"Oh, calm down, Bambi. Think of this as your first sternritter assignment."
"But I had plans, and now you're telling me I have to watch this dork," said Bambietta as she pointed at Uryu.
"Bambi, I'm trusting you with this, and remember, if anything happens to him, it's both of our asses," said Greta as she opened the door and entered.
Bambietta stomped on the ground. "Ugh, damn her!" She then looked at Uryu and grabbed him. "Come on!"
"Where are we going?" said Uryu as Bambietta dragged him across the courtyard.
"To find my minions."
Kinder center- backside courtyard
A chubby blonde girl sat on a bench, eating a bag of chips. Training had just concluded early and all the soldats and caretakers went inside the kinder center, so this was the first time they had free time in forever. The blonde quincy didn't really care that the prince and two sternritter would be here today. Instead, she was more interested in the new shipment of food they had gotten. It had been a month since Bambietta had been picked to be a sternritter, she still remembered when his majesty came and personally picked her to be one.
Suddenly, a tall, young, pink-haired Quincy went up to the bench. "Aren't you excited to see Bambi, Liltotto?"
"She's here? Well, there goes my peace and quiet." Said Liltotto as she threw the bag of chips away. The blonde-haired Quincy didn't really care for Bambietta, as she thought she was an egotistical idiot.
"You're not a little excited to see our friend?" asked the pink-haired Quincy.
Liltotto just sighed. "She's not our friend Meni; remember, we were just henchmen to her," she said as she got up.
"Well, aren't you interested in the prince?" asked Meninas
"Not really"
"There you guys are!' Yelled a voice
'Great,' thought Liltotto.
"So, how are my henchmen doing?" said Bambietta as she dragged Uryu by the arm.
"Fine," said the blonde-haired Quincy. She then noticed the prince behind her. "Why is he with you?" she asked, referring to Uryu.
Bambietta groaned. "I have to watch over him until Greta gets back"
"I guess that makes sense; no one really likes him," said Liltotto as she got out a bag of potato chips.
"Gee, thanks," thought the prince.
"Wait, Lady Greystone is watching over you," said Meninas.
"Yeah, until I'm old enough to do more of my sternritter duties," said Bambietta as she pouted,.
"Even if you're a sternritter, you have to be babysat? That seems lame," said the chubby blonde Quincy as she got another bag of chips and launched two of them into her mouth.
Bambietta gave her a disgusted look. "Should you really be eating those? You do know that when you're old enough to go into the soldat program and you're not fit, they'll cut you.'
Liltotto just shrugged. "I have time to lose weight, and besides, I'm the best in my age group at Quincy abilities."
Uryu then looked at Liltotto. "So does everyone here have to be a soldat?" he asked.
"If you want a good life here, then yeah," said Liltotto as she munched on her chips.
"What do you mean by good life?"
The chubby blonde Quincy sighed as she went towards the prince and turned him around. "See those buildings," she said as she pointed to nice-looking buildings that were by the silbern.
"Yes"
"They look nice, right? Well, that's where soldats and high-ranking officers stay." Liltotto then turned around and showed him the shittier buildings that resided near the kinder center. "That is where you stay if you fail the soldat program."
"But what about all the maids and caretakers?"
"Those are people who failed the soldat program," said Meninas.
"So, if you want a better life, you better prove your strength and survive," smirked Bambietta.
Uryu couldn't believe how cut throat this place was. It was no wonder everyone here is so…. Ruthless.
"So, what's your guy's names?" asked the prince.
"I'm Liltotto, and the pink-haired girl is Meninas." Said the chubby blonde Quincy.
He looked at Meninas and was shocked at how tall she was, she had to be the size of a teenager.
"I know I'm tall, but can you please not stare?" sighed Meninas. The poor girl did not like to be stared at like some freak.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stare," said Uryu as he bowed.
Bambietta just rolled her eyes. "Hey, where's James? I want to have some fun," she said as she punched her palm.
"Whose James?" asked Uryu.
"Just some boy Bambi likes to torment," answered Liltotto.
"Wait a minute! Bambietta, you can't do that," said Uryu as he grabbed her arm, making Bambietta blush to which Liltotto and Meninas noticed.
She then ripped her arm out of his grip. "Oh, not this again... look, I'm a Sternritter. I can do what I want to. Now if James wants me to leave him alone so much, he should just get stronger."
Uryu looked at her in disbelief. Did the conversation they had last night happen? "How could you be so cruel? You're just like Quilge; don't you remember how he made you cry?" yelled the prince.
Uryu's voice reached every Quincy around them as they started to form around the two. Liltotto and Meninas gave Uryu a surprise look, as they were curious about what he said.
Bambietta looked around at the crowd of Quincies gathering around. The explosive sternritter did not want people to know she cried, as it was considered a weakness in the Wandenreich. She had spent years crafting her image as a strong and ruthless person and did not want this dork ruining it.
"Will you shut up?" she said in a hushed tone.
"Why? You don't want people to know that the tough Bambietta Basterbine cried when she got kicked by our combat instructor!" yelled Uryu. The gemischt didn't care about all the people watching; he was tired of her attitude.
Bambietta looked around at the crowd of young Quincy; she could hear them whispering various things.
"Did she actually cry?"
"There's no way Bambietta cried."
The sternritter looked at the prince in rage before summoning a ball of reish and aiming it at Uryu. "Say you're lying before I throw this at you!"
Uryu crossed his arms. "No, I won't, and I know you won't throw that at me."
"What makes you say that?" said Bambietta as she narrowed her eyes.
"Because you're scared, just like when you were with Quilge, so if you're going to throw that at me Basterbine, just remember that Yhwach won't be happy," said Uryu with a smirk.
Bambietta was shaking with rage but stopped, he was right she couldn't kill him. So, she put the ball reishi away and breathed a deep breath before looking at Uryu. 'You're lucky you're right" she said as she pouted.
But Liltotto being the troll she is yelled out "Does Bambietta have a crush on the prince!"
Bambietta immediately snapped towards her blonde 'friend' with glare that could kill. "What was that lackey!" she yelled as her faced flushed red.
Suddenly a voice from the crowd said, "Look she's blushing it must be true!"
The sternritter turned to face the crowd. "NO IM NOT!"
"Bambietta has a crush on the prince!"
"Does she have cooties!"
Bambietta was shaking with rage, so much so that Liltotto and Meninas looked at each other as they had never seen her this angry. The sternritter then threw the ball of reishi towards the ground near the crowd. She then stomped off, making sure to bump into Uryu when she went past him, making him fall to the floor.
"Ouch," he said as he rubbed his shoulder.
"Don't worry about her," said Meninas as he went up to the prince and picked him up. She then asked "Do you like her?"
"W-What no!" yelled Uryu . The prince then looked at the crowd of Quincy. "Um, hello," he said as he waved nervously.
But nothing happened; they just stared at him like he was an alien. Uryu sighed as he walked off. He really hated this place.
In the Kinder Center, with Greta
"So, tell me about this person." Said Greta as she walked down the hallway.
The woman caretaker who was escorting her stopped in the middle of the hallway. "He... I mean, she is an interesting person."
Greta gave her a confused look. "Why do you say that?"
"Well, she isn't allowed to be around the kids because of her temper, so she gets trained separately from them."
"You had Bambietta roaming around here. Are you saying there is someone here worse than her?" asked Greta in shock.
"Far worse, my lady; she's killed other workers here. We only keep her around because she is very gifted in the quincy craft and will make a great soldat one of these days." said the woman caretaker. She then cleared her throat "That's also why we have almost every soldat that stationed here following us because she is wildly unpredictable."
Greta then looked behind her at the twenty soldats walking behind her. 'Geez no wonder Yhwach sensed a great power here' she thought.
As Greta walked down the hall, she noticed a room. It was a classroom for young Quincy, and on the chalkboard was a song that almost every Quincy knew.
"The confined Quincy King...
Regains his pulse after 900 years.
His mind after 90 years.
His strength after 9 years.
And the world... in 9 days."
The Kaiser Gesang is the phrase that's hammered into every Quincy from the day they're born. Greta sighed as she kept walking.
"So why do you keep calling her 'he' by accident?" asked the sternritter.
"Well, she prefers to be called she, and I just forget sometimes," said the caretaker.
Greta took a mental note of that as she kept walking.
"WAAAAAAAAHHH!"
"Oh no!" said the woman as she ran towards a room.
'Was that a baby?' thought Greta. She then turned to the whole patrol of soldats. "Stay here" she said as she followed the caretaker.
as she ran into the room the woman ran into, she noticed that there were a lot of babies. This had to be one of the nurseries—the place where Quincy babies go when they are taken away from their mother's arms. Greta hated this room; she hated that woman had to be forced to have kids and have them taken away. Greta slowly walked past all the cribs, as she didn't want to wake any of them up. She couldn't look at any of the babies; it just brought up too many bad memories.
"WAAAAHHH!"
"Please be quiet, shhhh," said the woman as she tried to rock the baby to make it sleep.
Greta sighed, hoping that the caretaker woman would be able to silence the baby before it woke any of the other ones up. The sternritter looked around to see the other babies shuffle in their sleep. "Damnit," she muttered before going towards the caretaker woman.
"Let me see," said Greta as she held out her arms.
"Sure, my lady," said the woman as she put the baby in Greta's hands.
The sternritter looked at the baby; it had black hair and blue eyes, and it looked to be a girl. "Shhh, little baby," sang Greta as the baby began to calm down and started to go to sleep. The woman caretaker listened to the song; she heard what sounded like pain but happiness in her voice.
"Thank you, my lady; if she didn't quiet down, they all would have started crying." I thanked the woman caretaker.
"Don't mention it," said Greta as she put the baby back in one of the cribs.
"You were good at that. Did you used to work here before becoming a sternritter?" asked the woman caretaker.
Greta just scoffed, "Can we just go?"
"Right away, my lady."
The walk was silent as they finally reached a room with lots of locks on the door. "Here we are," said the woman as she unlocked the door and opened it.
"You have a visitor, Ms. Gewelle."
As Greta walked into the room, she was greeted by a young black-haired Quincy wearing overalls. Her hair was long and looked like it hadn't been kept, as it was messy. Her room was destroyed as toys were scattered about with parts missing, like she had been purposely tearing them apart. On the walls, there were dolls that looked like they had been nailed to the wall, and their insides were ripped out.
'My Lord,' thought Greta as she looked at the room.
"Oh, who are you?" she said in an excited tone.
"I'm Greta Greystone, sternritter 'S', and I'm here to recruit you."
On the other side of the kinder center courtyard, with Bambietta
The sternitter threw a ball of reishi at the wall. She was angry and needed to cool off.
"How dare he talk to me like that and how dare those losers say those things!" she yelled. Uryu Ishida was the only person to ever talk to her like that. She had spent years crafting her image, but now everyone thought she was some crybaby….and that she had cooties. She was going to kill Liltotto.
"Woooosh!"
Bambietta snapped her head to see a boy in overalls playing with a toy wrestler.
The sternritter smiled because this was the boy she was looking for—this was James. This boy was the main target of Bambietta's terror. She hated him because he was everything Bambietta hated—the way he just sat there, just playing and being weak—it just pissed her off. He kind of reminded her of... Uryu.
"OH JAMES!" She yelled as she went towards the boy.
James dropped his toy in fear because he knew that voice. He looked behind him to see a devil coming towards him. Bambietta had a ball reishi as she walked towards him.
"B-Bambi, what do you want?"
Bambietta put on a smirk. "I just want to play with your new toy."
James backed away in fear. "No, please don't break my toy, Bambi; this is all I have left of my brother," he said with tears in his eyes.
But as Bambietta got near, she saw the tears in his eyes, and for the first time, she stopped. There was something about seeing him cry that got to her, but why? She didn't care about anyone's feelings. 'What's wrong with me?' she thought as she put away the ball of reishi.
"Hey Bambietta!"
She turned around to see Uryu running towards her. "Tch, what are you doing here?" she scoffed.
"Look, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you like that, but you're so difficult." The prince then noticed the boy behind her, crying. "Bambietta, what did you do!?" he yelled.
Bambietta then looked behind her to see James's crying. …. Pathetic.
"Oh, just ignore him; he's just being a baby."
Uryu walked past her and picked the boy up from the ground. "Hey, are you ok?" he said as he helped the boy up from the ground.
As James got up from the ground and dusted himself off, he looked at the prince with surprise. He just couldn't believe the prince had helped him. James had no friends, so having someone help him felt good.
"What's your name? "Asked Uryu.
"J-James?"
Uryu then looked at Bambietta. "So, this was the boy you were going to torment. What is wrong with you, Bambietta? Why are you like this?"
The sternritter then conjured a ball reishi and glared at James. "Go away before I blow you up," she threatened, making the boy run away in fear.
Uryu sighed as he went up to her. "I thought I got through to you last night."
Bambietta looked at Uryu. She could see his eyes; they looked so innocent and so full of care. He was different from everyone here, and she hated it, or did she? This boy had saved her from getting her cheek cut off. Nobody has ever done something like that for her, especially someone she's stronger than.
"why are you like this?" asked the sternritter
"What do you mean?"
Bambietta growled before answering. "I mean, why are you all nice?"
"Well, I guess I have my grandfather to thank for that."
Bambietta sighed. "I don't understand why you keep mentioning your grandfather, what's so great about him anyway?"
"He was the person who taught me to be a quincy; I learned everything through him." said the prince as he smiled.
"What about your dad? I heard some of the other sternritters mention him."
Uryu frowned. "I hate him. He rejected his Quincy heritage because there isn't profit in it, and he also said I was talentless in the Quincy craft."
Bambietta smirked. "Well, I guess he was right."
Uryu wanted to react but decided not to. He didn't want to give Bambietta satisfaction, so he smiled and said, "Well, at least I can shoot a bow."
Big mistake
*BOOM*
Suddenly, a hole appeared near Uryu, making him back away in fear. Bambietta looked at him with anger but then smiled sadistically. "I guess you're not as much of a wimp as I thought but don't ever say that to me" she threatened.
"O-Ok" said Uryu.
Bambietta then sat down to which Uryu followed but before he did the sternritter asked him a question. "Why do you think soul reapers and Quincy need to work together?"
The prince looked at her as he sat down. "My grandfather wanted us to work together because he hated seeing the sad faces of Quincy, humans, and soul reapers as their family and friends were slaughtered by hollows."
"But why should we care about soul reapers? They attacked us and started the war."
Uryu cocked his head in confusion. He was aware of the massacre 200 years ago, but he wasn't aware of a war. His grandfather never told him about that. "What are you talking about?" he asked.
Bambietta looked at him like he was stupid. "I'm talking about the war from around 990 years ago. Didn't your grandfather tell you about that?"
"No, he told me about the massacre from 200 years ago about how they killed the Quincy because they were killing too many hollows and disrupting the soul balance."
Bambietta rolled her eyes. "Don't tell me you believe in Shinigami propaganda."
"It's not propaganda; it's true. The soul reapers tried to warn the Quincy, but they didn't listen!" said Uryu as he stood up.
The sternritter couldn't believe their future emperor was spouting such nonsense. "Wow, your grandfather must have been a soul reaper sympathizer; no wonder he was banished." She said with wide eyes.
"Wait, he was banished? Yhwach said he just left."
"I don't know the details, but apparently he didn't leave; he was banished for something, but I don't know, and I don't have access to the daten." said Bambietta.
Silence occurred as all Uryu could think of were questions for Yhwach, and he wanted answers.
"There you two are," said a voice.
The two Quincy looked to their left to see Liltotto and Meninas, but they could see some young Quincy following them as well, no doubt curious about the prince.
"What are you two doing here?" scoffed Bambietta.
"We were wondering if you're okay," said Meninas.
"I was just bored," said Liltotto as she ate her bag of chips. She then looked at Bambietta who was fuming at her. "What?"
"You made everyone think I have a crush on the prince!" yelled Bambietta as she got up.
"Don't you?" asked Meninas.
"NO!"
"Hey, Liltotto, what's there to do here?" asked the prince as he got up from the ground.
"Well, we have free time since all the soldats and caretakers are more concerned with that sternritter that's in the building." Said the blonde Quincy.
"What do you do for free time then?"
"Nothing really, but read about our history," answered Meninas.
"And eat" said Liltotto as she munched on her chips
Uryu frowned. "I like to train, but that can't be all you guys do down here."
"It is," said Meninas.
'Bambietta was right. This place was depressing,' thought the prince. He then got an idea of what they could do. "Have you guys played tag?"
Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"what's tag?" said Bambietta as she gave the prince a confused look.
The crowd of Quincy that was behind Liltotto and Meninas started coming closer and closer.
"You know, when you touch someone and say your it," said Uryu. He then looked at everyone's faces and saw that they were confused. "The point of the game is to not get touched."
"So, is it endurance training?" questioned Liltotto as she frowned. The blonde-haired Quincy hated running.
"No, it's just a game."
Now the other Quincies were right there with Liltotto and Meninas. They were also intrigued by this 'game' the prince spouted.
"So do I hit the other person?' asked Meninas.
"Nope, you just tap them and say your It."
Meninas then tapped Liltotto. "Like this," she said innocently.
"Well, they have to run first, but you basically got the idea down, but we shouldn't use Hirenkyaku so it can be a fair game."
"What's hirenkyaku?" said Bambietta as she wasn't familiar with the Japanese name.
"I mean shneller schrit," said Uryu. He then looked back at Meninas and Liltotto. "So, you guys want to play?"
"Sure," said Liltotto as she shrugged her shoulders.
"I guess it could be fun." Said Meninas
"Fine, but I'm the team leader," said Bambietta.
"There is no leader in tag." Sighed uryu.
Suddenly another voice said, "Can we play to my lord?"
Uryu looked to see a boy from the crowd of Quincy that had gathered. "Um, sure, you can," he said with a smile.
Inside the Kinder center-with Greta
The sternritter waited outside of the room while Giselle got her things. Greta couldn't lie, this kid freaked her out. There was something off about her.
"Are you done yet?" she said as she looked into the room.
"Yep," said Giselle as she walked out of the room with her stuff.
"About time," thought Greta. She then looked at the caretaker woman. "Will be going now," said the sternritter as she walked away with the patrol of soldats.
The caretaker watched as the two walked down the hallway. "he's gone. He's finally gone!" said the caretaker as she jumped in the air.
Greta was starting to like the silent walk down the hall, but all good things must come to an end, as Giselle asked a question. "So, what's it like being a sternritter?"
"Well, it's a big responsibility. You have to command your unit of soldats and make sure they are not lacking in training. You must do a lot of paperwork and go on missions that are assigned to you by his majesty, but you won't have to worry about that until you're much older. Right now, you need to focus on your training while I take care of that." Said Greta
"How much freedom do I get?"
"A lot, why?"
Giselle just smiled. "No reason"
Greta then looked at the newest Sterniter recruit. "Look, I heard about what you've done to people here, so please don't make my job harder than it needs to be."
As the two reached the doors that led outside, they were greeted with a sight they thought they would never see. It was quincy kids….. playing? Something that never happened here. These kids were supposed to be raised as soldiers, but here they are playing like regular kids. Greta looked to see Uryu and Bambietta running around, honestly it put a smile on her face.
"Woah, what's going on here!?" said an excited Giselle. The poor girl never got out this much, so seeing this was a treat. She then looked at Greta and asked, "Can I play?!"
"I don't know." But Greta couldn't finish the sentence as Giselle looked at her with the cutest puppy eyes.
"S-Sure"
And with that, Giselle ran to them and started playing.
Greta then sat down with a happy but sad face. "Enjoy it while you still can, because soon you won't get this chance again." She said to herself.

Chapter Text
"As you saw from that game, Giselle, I am the strongest female sternritter," said Bambietta.
"Yeah, I agree, Bambi-Chan!" said Giselle.
Uryu and Greta sighed as they walked back to the silbern. Bambietta and Giselle had hit it off instantly after the game of tag ended. The little black-haired Quincy was excited to have a "girl" in the group that was around her age.
"Giselle, from now on, you're going to be my subordinate," said Bambietta as she proudly walked ahead of the group.
Giselle looked at Bambietta with glee. She was happy to have a female friend. The poor girl never got to get out and talk to the other kids. "Alright, commander Bambi," said the new sternritter as she did a salute.
Bambietta smiled. "Finally, someone who knows their place." She then looked at Uryu. "Take lessons from her gemischt"
But Uryu just ignored her, pissing her off. The prince couldn't focus as he was distracted by the fact that he had training with that Driscoll guy.
"Hey Uryu, Are you okay?" asked Greta.
The gemischt Quincy snapped out of his thoughts and looked at his caretaker. "Oh, sorry, I'm just not looking forward to training tonight."
Greta sighed. She knew what Yhwach was going to put this boy through, and it was going to be hell. "Look, Uryu, just be strong, alright, and you'll be fine," she said as she ruffled his hair.
The prince looked at her with a smile. "Ok"
Greta smiled. She loved his cute smile, but suddenly she stopped smiling and looked in front of her.
"Oi Uryu Ishida, come with me!'
Driscoll Berci had appeared in front of the group with a smile on his face.
'Him again,' thought Bambietta as memories from yesterday flooded her mind. She was still upset at the fear she showed to him yesterday.
"Hey, Bambi, who is that?" whispered Giselle.
"Driscoll Berci sternritter, 'O' the overkill," responded Bambietta.
Uryu looked at the man and sighed. 'Well, time to do this,' he thought as he walked towards Driscoll. As the gemischt started to walk away, he was grabbed by Bambietta.
"Hey, don't get hurt, Ishida." she said with a blush.
The prince gave the girl a shocked look. Bambietta was being nice?!
"Because I'm going to beat your ass when I teach you how to use a sword, so come back alright," said Bambietta as she elbowed his ribs.
Never mind
Uryu rubbed his ribs as he got to where Driscoll was. "This way," said the sternritter as he turned around and walked away. The prince then sighed as he followed the man; he only hoped this experience wouldn't be terrible.
Greta then looked at Giselle and Bambietta. "Alright, girls, let's get going." She then looked towards Uryu and Driscoll and said, "Be careful, Uryu."
Kinder Center-Courtyard
Liltotto and Meninas were walking back into the building as "free time" was over.
"It can't believe we have to go inside for an extra lecture, right, Meni." Liltotto then noticed that Meninas stopped by the gate.
"Um, Meni, what are you doing?" asked the blonde-haired Quincy as she went towards her friend, but as she got closer, she noticed that Meninas was sighing, but not in a tired and depressed way but in a romantic way.
"Isn't he dreamy?"" said Meninas.
"W-What?"
"The Prince is so dreamy," said Meninas.
Flashback
"Your it, Meni," said Bambietta as she tagged Meninas. The pink-haired girl just stared blankly at her shoulder, where Bambietta had tagged her.
"The monster's been tagged!" yelled a Quincy kid.
Meninas frowned; she hated being called that. The pink-haired girl had always been made fun of for her size, which is why Liltotto and her are friends.
"Hey Meninas, you have to tag someone!" yelled Uryu.
Meninas nodded as she started to run. Now she wasn't the fastest runner, and she couldn't use Hirenkyaku because the prince had said it wasn't allowed. She eventually saw James and ran straight at him, making him freak out. He would be an easy target due to his weight.
"AAAAAHHHHH!" yelled James as he ran away.
Meninas was getting closer and closer until she tripped on a rock that was on the ground. The pink-haired girl then fell to the ground, making an "oof" sound.
Suddenly, a group of Quincy kids came towards the pink-haired Quincy. "Did anyone else feel an earthquake when she hit the ground?" said one of the kids as the group started to laugh.
Meninas looked at the ground in sadness, but she also felt embarrassment. She knew this would get around the kinder center. Even though Meninas was the third-best in her age group at basic Quincy abilities, it still didn't stop the teasing.
"Hey, that's not funny!" yelled Uryu, and he ran towards the group.
Meninas's eyes widened. No one besides Liltotto defended her, so this was a shock.
Uryu got in front of her and offered his hand. "Here, are you okay?"
Meninas's face was red as she grabbed his hand, nearly crushing Uryu's hand.
'Wow, she has a grip on her,' thought Uryu as he brought her up from the ground. He then looked at the group of Quincy. "You should feel ashamed of yourselves for making fun of our own. We shouldn't bring each other down; we should prop each other up," preached the prince.
More and more Quincy gathered around the prince as he spoke. Hell, even some of the soldiers came to see what he was talking about.
Meninas was infatuated with the prince's words, as they reminded her of something she had read in a fairy tale book. 'He's so romantic,' she thought.
Just then, Bambietta walked up and said, "What is this dork talking about now?"
"I don't know, but I've never seen anyone here gather a crowd like he has," said Liltotto as she walked up to Bambietta and Meninas. The chubby, blonde-haired Quincy had to admit that Uryu made things interesting.
"It looks like your boyfriend is good at drawing a crowd," said Liltotto as she got out a bag of chips and munched on them.
"HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" yelled Bambietta
"Sure, he isn't," sarcastically replied Liltotto.
"SHUT UP FATASS!" yelled the explosive Quincy.
As the two fought. Meninas could feel her heart beating a million beats per second as she heard Uryu's speech. The pink-haired quincy was in love.
Flashback end
"He's so romantic," said Meninas as she giggled.
Liltotto looked at her friend in shock; she had never seen Meninas so expressive. Usually, the girl was quiet and never talked that much. The chubby Quincy then grabbed Meninas by the arm and dragged her towards the kinder center. "Come on, Meni, we have to get inside," she said as she struggled to get her to the steps that led into the building.
Suddenly, a soldat appeared using hirenkyaku. "Ms. Mcallon, congratulations you have been chosen to be an assistant for Lord Pepe."
Meninas and Liltotto could only stare in shock. Usually, being an assistant to a sternritter was an honor, but this is Pepe Waccabrada, one of the worst sternritters to serve under especially if your a woman.
"Pack your bags, young lady, we will be leaving soon."
Liltotto could feel her heart shatter. Her friend was leaving, and she was alone again. The chubby Quincy looked at her friend; she could see Meninas shaking. The pink haired Quincy knew what happens when Pepe Waccabrada chooses you to be an assistant.
"Meni, I'm sorry," said Liltotto as she hugged her friend. The blonde haired Quincy held in tears. She knew this would probably be the last time she would see her friend.
"Lill, I don't want to go," said Meninas as tears flowed down her face.
'I don't want you to go either,' thought Liltotto.
Just then, the soldat interrupted. "Young lady, I don't have all day."
Meninas broke the hug and looked at her friend. "Thank you for being an amazing friend, Liltotto." She then turned towards the stairs and started to walk.
Those words hit Liltotto's heart. What would she do without Meni? She could only watch her friend prepare to go to hell.
Near the center of Wandenreich city
It didn't take long for Uryu to find out the Driscoll was a psychopath, as the man constantly bragged about how many people he's killed today. He had learned that Driscoll was the "Henker" (executioner) and was the primary person besides Jugram to carry out punishment.
"WOOOOOWEEEE, isn't it a great day, Prince Ishida?!" yelled Driscoll. Now it may seem like the sternritter was excited, but that was not the case; in fact, he was pissed that he had to waste his time training some gemischt brat. He hated the fact that the new sternritter recruits were all kids, and he especially hated that a gemischt was Yhwach's successor. Driscoll Berci was what you would call a blood purist, in fact, a lot of the sternritters were.
"I guess," responded Uryu as he walked beside the sternritter. The prince couldn't help but notice the lower ranked Quincy's snickering as he walked by them. 'What are they laughing at?' thought Uryu, but his questions were soon answered by Driscoll's laughter.
"Oh, that's hilarious!" yelled Driscoll as he pointed at the big clock tower building.
When Uryu looked towards the building, he could see words painted red, and they said
"Uryu Ishida, a gemischt grandson of an old fool." and "Go Home, Gemischt Bastard."
Uryu froze upon seeing the building. It hurt. It really hurt the boy as he closed his fists together. Insulting him was one thing, but to bring his grandfather into this was just... awful. "Who would do something like this?" he said to himself.
"Alright, who's the genius who came up with that one?' said Driscoll as he recovered from his laughing fit.
The prince had a flash of anger as he glared at Driscoll. "It's not funny; Souken Ishida wasn't a fool," said Uryu.
"Kid, your grandfather thought soul reapers and Quincies could work together if that ain't foolish? I don't know what it is," said Driscoll as he shrugged.
"He wasn't a fool; he just wanted peace!" yelled the prince. Uryu was starting to get angry with the man; he already didn't like Driscoll because of what he did to Bambietta, but insulting his grandfather just made him hate Driscoll.
"Peace. Now that just sounds boring. That's just something weak people want because they want to live, just like your old geezer of a grandfather." said Driscoll.
"Shut up, he wasn't weak!" yelled Uryu.
"Didn't he die to basic ass hollows?" laughed Driscoll.
"He was an old man!" yelled the prince as his face got red with fury.
"Keep telling yourself that," said Driscoll as he walked off.
Uryu had never been this angry; he hated it here, but it would be wise to hold in his anger as Driscoll was way stronger than him.
"Where are we going?" asked the prince as he held in his anger.
Driscoll turned toward the boy. "Eeeh, oh, I have things to go do first, so we have to drop by the Gefängnis," said the sternritter as he turned the corner.
Uryu gave a look of confusion before saying, "Gefängnis?"
Driscoll sighed. "It means, Jail, geez kid, you need to learn German; didn't that old geezer teach you anything?"
Uryu growled at the man, but before he could say anything, a soldier appeared using hirenkyaku. "Lord Berci, the prisoners are ready for your judgment," he said as he bowed.
'Judgement? Am I going to have to watch him kill people?!' thought the prince as he stared at the other two Quincy's in shock. His suspicions were correct as he saw Driscoll smile sadistically, like a boy who just got told he was getting ice cream.
"Woooweeee, this is about to be fun," said Driscoll. He then turned towards Uryu. "Come along, boy, I have work to do."
Gefängnis- Entrance
Uryu could feel the dark aura that the large building exuded, and the prince could also hear the screams of the prisoners from outside. The doors were black with blue handles, and the wandenreich symbol was on both sides of the door.
As Uryu and Driscoll approached the black doors, they were greeted by a soldat who bowed. "Prince Ishida and Lord Berci, we've been waiting for yo..."
"Whatever, just let us in; I don't have all day," said Driscoll as he pushed the soldat to the ground and opened the doors.
When the doors opened, Uryu had to cover his nose, as this place reeked of blood and vomit. The place was so dirty that you couldn't see the white floor; instead, it looked like a black floor. As Uryu walked into the building, he could see all the cells with the prisoners in them. They looked like they hadn't been fed in days and had reishi sealing cuffs to prevent them from using Quincy abilities. As the prince walked through the long cell block, he noticed a kid in a cell with his back turned. He had long, black hair that stopped near the middle of his back.
"Um, excuse me, sir," said Uryu as he looked at the soldat who was near the cell.
The soldier was taken aback by the prince. "Prince Ishida, how may I help you?"
"That boy, what's he in here for?"
"Oh, well, you see, he was from the real world, but his parents refused to join us, so they were killed, and he was brought here because he shot and killed a soldat."
Uryu didn't know what to say. Did the Wanderenreich really kill Quincy's that didn't join them?
Driscoll then walked up towards the cell. "Holy shit, the freak is still here!" he said, laughing.
Uryu could see the boy wince, like a tinge of anger had gone through him. "Hey, leave him alone," said Uryu.
"Oh, come on, prince, look, just look at him." Driscoll then banged on the bars. "Hey freak, look over here!" he yelled.
The boy then turned around, revealing his two tongues that stuck out.
"Now look at that; he's got two tongues," said the sternritter as he started to laugh again.
Uryu felt bad seeing someone treated like this. He could see the boy was barely taken care of and fed, as he looked skinny.
"Knock it off, Driscoll; it's not funny."
Driscoll then stopped laughing. "Oh, will you lighten up? Did your grandfather turn you into a buzzkill too?"
"Can we just go so I can start my training?" said Uryu
"Fine," said Driscolll as he turned around.
Uryu watched him walk away, and once he was further away, he turned towards the boy. "I'm sorry about that."
"Thanksths," said the boy as he struggled to talk due to his disability.
Uryu nodded as he turned around and walked away. The prince would talk to Ywach and make sure that boy left his cell.
30 minutes later
The two quincies walked down a long hall of cells until they got to a room with a stage. Uryu could see blood splattered on the walls. He could tell this was where executions took place. The prince could see two soldats posted by the doors that led to another hallway on the right side of the room.
"Oi, Ishida, stay over there," said Driscoll as he pointed to the area to his right. He then yelled, "Bring them out."
Suddenly, a soldat came into the room, dragging what looked like a low-ranking Quincy. The soldat then gave Driscoll a stack of papers.
"Let's see, your name is Albrecht Bauer, and you were brought here because you attempted to assassinate the prince," said Driscoll as he looked at the paper.
Uryu stood there in shock. This man tried to kill him?!
Suddenly, the soldat spoke up. "That's right, he was brought in by Lady Greystone."
Driscoll looked through the papers and made an "Hmm" sound before giving a sadistic smile. "Alright, well, the punishment for that is death," said the sternritter as he punched his fist together, forming a giant reishi arrow.
"Any last words?" he said while looking at the low-ranking Quincy.
As the man was about to speak, he was interrupted by the prince. "Wait, why did you try to kill me?" asked Uryu.
Low ranking Quincy just glared at him before saying, "Because your beneath us, gemishct basta-"
The man didn't get to finish as Driscoll fired the arrow towards him, piercing his rib cage and killing him instantly.
Uryu could only stare in shock at the dead low-ranking Quincy as he stuck to the wall, but his shock ended when he felt a rise in Driscoll spiritual pressure. 'Did he just get stronger?' thought the prince.
"WOOOOWEEEEE!" yelled Driscoll as he felt a surge of power go through him. He then turned towards the soldat and said, "Bring in the next one!"
The soldat nodded before leaving the room to get a new prisoner, leaving Uryu and Driscoll alone.
"I'm guessing you felt the rise in my reiatsu," said Driscoll.
"Yeah, what was that?" said Uryu.
"That was my schrift 'the overkill' in action. Basically, whenever I kill something, I get stronger," explained Driscoll.
"T-That's an insane ability," said Uryu. The prince had never seen a power like this before, Just how powerful were these schrifts and would his be as powerful as this one as well?
"Yep, and that's why his Majesty assigned me to be the henker," said Driscoll. He could see Uryu's pale face, so he put on a sadistic smile. He wanted to scare the little bastard. "As I said before, Ishida, I love killing and hurting people, it's like every time I do it, I get a rush of dopamine."
Uryu could see the blood lust on Driscoll's face, and it disgusted him. He hated to admit it, but he had seen this face on Bambietta when she teased him and when she went to pick on that James kid. Why did everyone here have to be a psychopath? Wait a minute; he knew why, it's because of Yhwach. He allowed those kids at the kinder center to be abused by those instructors; he allowed Quilge to hit Bambietta when she was on the ground crying. No wonder his grandfather left. These people grow up to be monsters.
Just then, the door opened, revealing the same soldat from earlier holding a blonde haired servant. The woman looked scared as she saw dead low ranking Quincy that was still on the wall. The soldat then placed the servant on the stage and gave Driscoll the stack of papers.
"So this says you denied an order from a sternritter," said Driscoll as he looked at the paper in front of him.
"Yes my lord, but you don't understand, Lord Pepe wanted me to do things to him; he wanted me to give up my body to him," pleaded the servant.
'What is she talking about, did someone hurt her?' thought Uryu.
"Oooooh, well, you broke a rule, so bye bye," said Driscoll as he punched his fist together, summoning an arrow and pointing an arrow.
"OH GOD, NO HAVE MERCY, MY LORD!" yelled the servant.
Uryu watched the woman scream for mercy and felt rage build up. Everyone here is a god damn monster, and he wasn't going to allow this woman to be killed for something as silly as not listening to a sternritter. The gemischt Quincy then pulled out his sword.
"Ugh, will you just stay still? "I'm trying to aim at yo-AH SHIT!" yelled the sternritter. Driscoll looked towards his right leg to see a slash across it. 'Did that little shit just slash at me?' thought the overkill. He looked up to see Uryu staring at him with rage.
"Let her go," he growled.
Driscoll could feel anger. How dare this little gemischt bastard cut him? He didn't care if he was the prince; no one disrespected him like this. "You little shit," growled Driscoll as he stepped towards the prince.
Uryu was scared of the man, as he was way stronger than him, but still, he wasn't going to back down to this asshole, unlike last time with his grandfather. He's not going to be scared.
"Why did you do that?" asked the angry sternritter.
"Because you were going to kill her." answered Uryu as he took a battle stance.
"Yeah, because it's my job, she didn't follow a sternritter's command, and the rule for that is death." Said Driscoll.
"That's ridiculous, all that for not following an order!" Yelled Uryu. The prince then looked at the servant. "Miss, you're free to go."
The servant woman looked at the prince with a thankful expression. Everyone talked about how bad the prince was but here is having such kindness. "Thank you, my prince," she said as she hugged him. She then turned around and started to walk away, but when she got to the door,
*VOOM*
It was like a flash just happened, as the servant was now nailed to the wall by a giant arrow.
'W-What?' thought Uryu.
But his thoughts were interrupted by Driscoll's laughter.
"HA HA HA HA DID YOU GUYS SEE THE LOOK ON HER FACE!" Yelled the sternritter as he looked at the two soldats posted by the door.
Uryu just looked at the hanging corpse; he could feel rage flowing through him. "Why the hell would you do that?" he asked as he turned towards Driscoll.
Driscoll then started to calm down as he saw the prince's angry expression. "Oh, will you relax? It's not like she couldn't go back anyway; if Pepe found out she was roaming around, he would have killed her himself."
"It still doesn't matter, what you did wasn't right; how do you sleep at night?" said Uryu.
Driscoll then leaned in towards the prince. "Like a baby."
The prince was done with this man, he couldn't believe it, but he found someone worse than Quilge. "YOU FUCKING MONSTER!" yelled Uryu as he launched towards the man, but it didn't work as Driscoll kicked him away.
"That's what you get, you little shit for slicing my leg!" yelled the sternritter. He didn't care about the punishment for kicking the prince, as Yhwach had given him permission to hit him if he got out of line.
As Uryu recovered, he could feel his nose bleed. He winced in pain as he touched it. This bastard had broken his nose. The prince then got up and looked at the older man. "You're a coward who picks on people weaker than you," said Uryu as he drew his sword.
Driscoll could see that the boy was ready for a fight. The sternritter then looked at the soldiers that were posted up in the room. "You weaklings, get out of here; I'm going to rough up his Majesty's successor."
The soldiers then bowed and left the room.
Driscoll was excited; he had the perfect excuse to beat up this little shit. The sternritter thought about how fun it would be to brag about this to the other sternritters. Meanwhile, Uryu was scared, but he wasn't going to back down from this monster; he had enough of this place. The young Quincy didn't care that he had nowhere to go; anywhere was better than here. He knew he couldn't beat Driscoll, so he figured he would cut his leg again and run away.
Uryu started to run towards the man with his sword, but as he got closer, he used Hirenkyaku to appear behind him.
"God, you're so slow," said Driscoll as he turned around, grabbed the boy by the face, and slammed him to the ground.
Uryu felt like he suffered brain damage as he hit the ground. When he recovered, he saw that his glasses were broken, making his vision weak.
"OH MY GOD, IT MUST SUCK BEING WEAK!" yelled Driscoll as he kicked Uryu in the ribs.
"GAHHHH!" yelled the young Quincy as he felt his ribs getting bruised.
The sternritter kept kicking and kicking the young boy. "I DONT KNOW WHY YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OUR FUTURE EMPEROR; YOU ARE JUST A GEMISCHT BASTARD FROM A LINE OF RACE TRAITORS!" yelled Driscoll.
Uryu was now spitting up blood as Driscoll kept kicking him. Tears started falling from his eyes. He hated it here; he wanted his mother; he wanted his grandfather.
"YOURE JUST WEAKLING!"
"He's right, I am weak; I couldn't save you, grandfather." Uryu then looked at the corpse of the servant woman that still hung on the wall by the giant arrow. "I'm so sorry to give you hope of leaving this place alive. You should be the one that gets to live, not this monster," thought the prince.
"ARE YOU CRYING YOU LITTLE SHIT? That's so FUN-"
*Doom*
Driscoll looked down towards his chest to see his giant arrow pierced through it. "What the fuuuuck," he said as he fell to the ground next to Uryu.
The prince was weak, but he slowly turned his head to see Driscoll on the floor. A pool of blood was on the floor where he lay, and his eyes were open in shock. Uryu then slowly got up, wincing in pain as he felt his ribs were cracked. The arrow that was in Driscoll slowly started dimming and went out.
"What the hell happened?" said Uryu as he looked at the corpse.
"AHHHHHH!"
Then the prince snapped his attention towards the scream, only to see something he didn't expect. It was the servant woman, and she was fine, like nothing happened to her, but that was impossible; she was dead.
Suddenly, the soldats came into the room. "Lord Berci is everything—OH MY GOD!" yelled one of the soldats as he ran towards the corpse. The soldat then kneeled by the corpse and looked at his colleague.
"Tell his majesty, Uryu Ishida has killed a sternritter."
Yhwach's throne room
The Quincy king sat on his throne; he had just gotten news about one of his missing children in the real world. That child's name was Ichigo Kurosaki. The boy was an oddity, as he was a quincy, hollow, and soul-reaper hybrid. Once he had gotten this news, he was asked if they should send someone to retrieve the boy, but Yhwach denied it as he thought the boy should unlock his soul-reaper powers before being brought here.
"You're majesty?"
Yhwach looked to his right to see Jugram looking at him. "What is it, my other half?"
"If you don't mind me asking, what's special about the Ishida boy?" asked Jugram.
"I see you also question my decision," said Yhwach.
"Please forgive me, your majesty, but I'm merely asking a question."
Yhwach narrowed his eyes. "There is a reason I assigned Berci to train Ishida today"
Jugram didn't know what Yhwach meant by that but decided not to bother.
Yhwach then sighed as he got up. It was almost nighttime, and he still had a ceremony to do. Suddenly, the doors opened, revealing the soldat from the execution room. Now this was a big no-no, as not just anyone comes into the throne room, especially without permission.
"What are you doing here, soldat? No one summoned you," said Jugram as he held his sword.
The soldat immediately bowed. "I'm sorry to barge into the throne room, your majesty, but an incident has occurred: Uryu Ishida has killed a Lord Berci."
Jugram's eyes widened. Uryu Ishida killed a sternritter?! That can't be right. The boy was nowhere near Driscoll's strength. While Jugram was shocked, Yhwach wasn't, as he smirked.
"Tell me what happened" said the Quincy king.
The soldat gulped before telling the king the whole situation.
Silbern- Spa Area
"Ahh, right there," said Giselle as a female servant brushed her hair. The newest sternritter was loving this treatment as no one had ever treated her this way. But while Giselle enjoyed it, the servants didn't. To say the girl's hair was messy would be an understatement, as it looked like it hadn't been taken care of in years.
"Damn Gewelle, have you or anyone ever brushed your hair before?" cringed Greta as she watched the servants struggle to brush Giselle's hair.
"Nope, the caretakers were all scared of me for some reason," shrugged the newest sternritter. She then looked around the room, as she didn't get a chance to look at it due to being immediately escorted to a spa chair. The creepy girl was amazed at the bright blue wallpaper, accompanied by crosses. There was also a fountain and a big vase full of flowers at the entrance that were probably taken from the real world. This place really was different from the kinder center.
Meanwhile, Greta looked at Giselle and was relieved that she had not done anything bad yet. 'The caretaker at the kinder center said she was a nightmare, but she's been very well behaved,' thought the oldest sternritter. She then looked to her right, towards the other chair, to see Bambietta sitting there quietly.
"Hey Bambi, are you alright?"
The question seemed to have snapped Bambietta out of her thoughts. "w-what? "
"I said, Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Greta then put on a smug grin. "Your concern for the prince, aren't you?"
"WHAT, WHY WOULD I BE CONCERNED FOR THAT GEMISCHT DORK? "yelled Bambietta as her face was as red as a tomato.
"Because you love him," teased Greta.
Bambietta was starting to get angry, so much so that she was about to summon a ball of reishi, but before she could, Greta grabbed her arm. "Relax, young lady, you need to learn to take a joke," said the older sternritter as she let go of the young Quincy's arm.
"Well, you shouldn't talk bad about me then," pouted the explosive Quincy.
Greta sighed. "What's wrong with you, Bambi?"
Bambietta looked at the ground. "I have to go train with Quilge tomorrow."
Greta looked at her with sadness in her eyes. "I know you're scared."
"I'm not scared!" yelled Bambietta. She then noticed everyone looking at her. "What are you low-rank losers looking at? Get back to work!"
As the lower-ranked Quincy's got back to work, Greta put her hand on Bambietta's back to comfort her. "I know you are, hell, even the prince knows it too."
"Can we not talk about him? He's a wimp." Pouted Bambietta
Greta then brought Bambietta closer to her. "He's not a wimp; he's a kind boy who even offered to teach you Schneller Schrit."
Bambietta then got out of Greta's grip. "How do you know that?"
Greta then made a serious, but silly, face. "I know everything, Bambi."
Bambietta just looked at her in shock before shaking her head. "SHUT UP!"
Greta could only laugh at Bambietta's anger. She couldn't lie; it was fun making her angry, even though she could cause an explosion.
The sternritter then gave Bambietta a smile. "I'll talk to Quilge tomorrow and see if we can do something different, like a different teaching method."
"Really," said Bambietta.
"Yeah," said Greta as she rubbed Bambietta's back.
Suddenly, a spa worker came up to two sternritters. "Lady Greystone, she's ready," said the spa worker as she brought forth a newly styled Giselle.
"Wow," observed Greta.
Giselle's hair had been completely redone, as it was no longer messy. Instead, it was tied, making her hair stand up like an antenna.
'She looks kind of like a cockroach,' thought Bambietta.
Just then, Greta asked a question. "Hey Gewelle, where did you get these new clothes from?"
Giselle's clothes were unique as they weren't a standard Wandenreich uniform. Her new outfit was more like a sweatshirt with sweatpants.
As Greta finished asking her question, a low-ranking Quincy tapped her shoulder. "We picked those out for her. You see, Lady Gewelle wanted to wear something similar to what Lady Basterbine was wearing, but as you can see, that's not possible due to her." She then looked to make sure Giselle couldn't hear "having certain parts."
"I see," said Greta.
"I have to say you look alright, Gigi," said Bambietta as she inspected Giselle's new outfit.
Giselle raised an eyebrow at the nickname her friend gave her. "Gigi?"
"Yeah, it's a nickname I gave you," said Bambietta.
The newest sternritter didn't know what to say; she had never been given a nickname. "Gigi, I like that name!" said Giselle as she hugged Bambietta.
"Um, Gigi, personal space," said Bambietta.
Greta then cleared her throat to get the attention of two little ones she had to watch over. "Alright, guys, let's go."
But as she turned around she noticed Jugram by the doorway. "Greystone, you need to come with me."
"Why?"
"Uryu Ishida has killed Driscoll Berci."
Everyone in the room, including the low-ranked Quincies,'s jaws dropped. "W-What?" said Greta.
Jugram sighed. "There was an incident where Driscoll used force on Ishida after he prevented an execution, and according to a soldat, they had left the room, and after a couple minutes, they came back, and Berci was dead, but the woman he killed was alive."
Greta, Bambietta, and Giselle were in shock. "Where is he?!" yelled Greta as she shook her head.
"He's being escorted to the silbern to speak with his majesty," said Jugram. He then looked at Giselle. "After that, we will commence with the schrift ceremony."
Bambietta had listened to the entire conversation in shock. 'He killed Driscoll,' thought the reishi, throwing Quincy.
The Silbern-outside the throne room
Uryu and the servant woman were escorted outside the throne room. They sat in silence, waiting to be called by someone.
'What the hell happened in there? Did I really do that? But how?' thought the prince. If he did, then Uryu had just killed his first man. Wait a minute, would that mean he would be in trouble? He didn't want to admit but he was scared of what Yhwach would do to him for killing a sternritter. Maybe he could still escape? No there are soldats everywhere, so it wouldn't work. Soon his thoughts would be stopped as they were interrupted by a yell down the hall.
"Uryu!" yelled Greta as she ran up to him. She saw the scars and bloody nose he had and immediately and said "Look what that monster did to you"
"I'm fine, Greta; it's just a broken nose." Uryu then winced.
"Are your ribs broken?" said Greta as she lightly rubbed his ribs.
"I think there cracked but don't worry, I can still walk," explained Uryu.
The prince then looked past Greta to see Bambietta looking at him; he could have sworn he saw a look of concern.
"I see you're still alive," said Bambietta as she looked at the ground blushing.
Uryu smiled. "Yeah, I guess I am." He then noticed Giselle wasn't anywhere to be seen. "where's Giselle?"
Greta quickly looked back to discover that she was indeed not there. Where the hell did she go? This wasn't good, as Greta was responsible for Giselle, and if word got out that she was missing, then Yhwach would surely have her head. "Shit, I don't sense—wait a minute."
At that moment, a tall, black, long-haired man came around the corner. This man's name was As Nodt. He wore a long Wandenriech trench coat and a black mask that covered his face, but what got everyone's attention was what he was holding.
It was Giselle Gewelle. "Hello," she said as she waved at Greta.
"I think this belongs to you; I found her in my room," said As Nodt as he handed Giselle to Greta.
"Giselle, don't run off like that again," said Greta as she put Giselle on the ground. She then looked back to where As Nodt was, but he was gone. 'Creepy' she thought.
Uryu then spoke up. "Who was that?"
"That was sternritter 'F' As Nodt," explained Greta.
Even though Uryu's vision wasn't the best due to his glasses being broken, he could still see how creepy As Nodt was. "Well he's-"
"Awesome," interrupted Giselle. She then looked at Bambietta, who was still offended by As Nodt's appearance. "Bambi-Chan, we have to go to As-Chan's room sometime!"
"I think I'm good, Gigi," said Bambietta.
Greta smiled as all the people she was responsible for were here. She then went to Uryu and asked "what happened?"
Bambietta and Giselle got close to hear Uryu's answer.
"I- I don't know Driscoll was kicking me on the ground and then all of a sudden he was dead" said the prince as he looked down at the ground. He then looked at Greta and asked "What if I did kill them, how could I live with myself after killing one of my own?"
"Ugh, will you stop being a wimp" scoffed Bambietta
Uryu then looked at her as he taken aback by her words.
"Look it was self defense and besides I doubt a weakling like you killed him, so stop being hard on yourself idiot" said Bambietta.
Uryu and Greta sweat dropped as this was weirdly nice for someone like Bambietta.
"Um, ok thanks" said Uryu.
"Yeah, that was kind of you" said Greta
Bambietta then blushed. "S-Shut up both of you!"
Suddenly, a soldat opened the door. "Prince Ishida, his majesty is ready for you."
To be continued
Notes:
Authors Note:
Alright, I hope you enjoyed the new chapter. Yes, I made Uryu unconsciously use antithesis. Now, how he's able to do this will be explained in the next chapter, but basically, let's just say that him being by Ywach made some of his power come out. Anyway, Driscoll is dead, but who cares, right? Now, I got a review asking about if Uryu will interact the Karakura gang and yeah, he will when we get to that point. Also, I hope you guys like my worldbuilding, as Kubo hasn't really given us much about the schatten Beriech. The next chapter will be Ywach shattering Uryu's worldview.
Question: Didn't Kubo say that the Overkill goes away once Driscoll eats, sleeps, or gets knocked out?
Answer: He did but in this version it doesn't.
Chapter 7: Uryu's shattered philosophy!!!
Summary:
Uryu has his philosophy shattered. Meanwhile, Bambietta, Giselle, and Greta encounter Pepe's harem.
Notes:
Last time on prince of light:
Uryu was taken by Driscoll for training but before they could do that, the psychopathic Sternritter had to perform his daily executions. Once the Prince saw how unfair the Wandenreich was, he loses it and attacks Driscoll leading to a scuffle. When Driscoll kicks the poor boy while he was down, Uryu seems to do the impossible and somehow kills Driscoll. Meanwhile, Greta and Bambietta were preparing Giselle for her Schrift ceremony.
Authors Note:
I should warn you that Yhwach is going to be extremely manipulative and anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt.
Now enjoy!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Uryu nervously walked into the throne room to see the Quincy King smiling at him. 'Why is he smiling at me?' thought the Prince.
"Come here my son," ordered the Quincy King with that same smile.
Not wanting to anger Yhwach, Uryu walked slowly towards the throne but as he did he looked to his left to see two men and a strange figure with a hood. One of the men was huge wearing a Viking helmet and a Quincy cloak. The other was a dark-skinned man with an 'X' on his left eye who wore the same cloak as the man with the Viking helmet. However, the hooded one creeped Uryu out the most as he swore he could see eyes coming out of its hood, but he couldn't tell due to his cracked glasses.
The Prince eventually reached the throne and kneeled. He could feel the presence of Yhwach as he stared at him. It was like gravity was weighing him down, but not like the way spiritual pressure does.
Suddenly, the throne room doors opened revealing Jugram Haschwalth. He looked tired as he walked into the throne room. The sternritter grandmaster had a busy day ahead of him as he had a sternritter funeral to plan and he had to get the cathedral ready for the announcement of a new sternritter.
"Ah, my other half, I'm glad you're able to join us," Yhwach greeted from his throne.
The sternritter grandmaster kneeled next to Uryu as he approached the throne. "I'm sorry I'm late, your majesty. I just broke the news to the other sternritter about Driscoll Berci's death."
Uryu gulped as he could see Jugram look at him. He couldn't tell what the blonde Quincy was thinking.
"I see. Apology accepted, my other half" Yhwach then pointed to his right. "Please take your place by my side"
Jugram nodded as he got up and walked over to the throne. He then took his place on the right side of the Quincy king.
The Quincy king smirked before looking back at his successor.
"I've been made aware of an event that happened when you were with Driscoll," said Yhwach with a stern look.
'Am I going to die?' thought Uryu as sweat fell from his face and all the way down to the blue reishi floor.
"Uryu, I'm proud of you."
Uryu looked at the Quincy King with a mixture of shock and confusion. "W-What?"
"I said I'm proud of you."
"B-But for what?"
"For conquering your fear of killing and for showcasing your power," said Yhwach with a warm smile.
"W-What?' said Uryu, still not understanding what he meant.
"I see your confusion, so let me explain. You see, I can observe one's power that's buried deep within their soul. I simply saw yours and allowed for Driscoll to watch over you hoping he would push you to your limit, having you instinctively use your power on him in a moment of survival," explained Yhwach.
A lot of emotions were going through Uryu right now. One was relief for not being in trouble, but the other was anger, he decided to hide that emotion for his own safety. "Y-You're saying I killed him, but how?" asked the Prince.
"As I said before, you killed him with your power, you reversed the very state of that maid with Driscoll's," answered Yhwach.
Well, that confirms it, Uryu had killed a member of his race.
"I reversed the state of Driscoll and that maid… but how? I don't have a Schrift," questioned the Prince as he got up, he winced in pain as his ribs still hurt from being kicked by Driscoll.
"You're right, you don't have one, however there are a handful of people who are able to unleash a portion of their inner power by just being in my presence," explained Yhwach.
"So let me see if I understand this… you give certain people power by just being around them?" Asked the young Quincy.
"That is correct. Haschwalth shares this ability as well, though it's not as pronounced as mine. Think about it, Uryu, you're a Gemischt and yet you already have performed blut. Another thing to note, haven't you noticed that your sword feels lighter?" said Yhwach.
Uryu's eyes widened. It was true he had been able to fully carry his sword with no problem when he fought Driscoll. "So, you put me through all that just for me to use my power?"
Yhwach smiled. "That's right my son."
Silence was the only sound in the throne room before it was interrupted by the Prince.
"You're a monster," said Uryu as he looked at Yhwach with hatred.
Everyone in the throne room except Yhwach looked at the Prince with shock. No one has ever spoken to the King like that.
"Watch your mouth!" shouted Jugram.
"No, I won't! This man is a monster!" yelled the Prince.
Jugram was about to say something until he was interrupted by the Quincy King raising his right hand.
"Let him speak."
Uryu took a breath as he was about to rant and boy did he have a lot to say. "I've come to realize how much you don't give a shit about anyone here! There are kids in the Kinder Center getting beaten just for missing a target! I've also seen a servant being executed just for not listening to a Sternritter! You also have this stupid philosophy about only the strong surviving and the weak dying! Hell, you let Quilge beat a little girl just for being rude! You also allowed Driscoll to take me in to watch him execute our own people and beat me… you know this goes on and you do nothing about it!"
Yhwach listened to the boy's rant with a smile on his face, which pissed Uryu off.
"Why the hell are you smiling? This isn't funny!" yelled the Prince.
"Have you finished, my son?" asked Yhwach.
"Have I finished? Did you even hear what I just said!" yelled Uryu.
"I have and it seems to me you don't understand why I allow such things. I promise you it's all for a legitimate reason," explained the Quincy King.
"What reason could there be for any of this?"
Yhwach sighed. "I allow it so that we can become as ruthless and as powerful as the original Gotei Thirteen. You see, when we invaded the Soul Society a thousand years ago we–"
"Stop right there! Why would you invade the Soul Society?" interrupted Uryu.
Jugram and the three figures nearly had their jaws drop to the floor as the Prince interrupted the king. However, Yhwach just ignored it and answered the question.
"We invaded because they had attacked us first," explained the Quincy king.
"Why did they do that? Was it because we were disrupting the balance of souls which would destroy the world?" questioned the Prince.
"No, that is the answer the Soul Reapers fabricated to clear their own conscience. That answer… is a lie. It's because we threatened their world of fear," answered the King.
'World of fear? I remember him saying that the first day I got here,' thought Uryu. The Prince wanted to know what Yhwach was talking about. "You said that the first day I was here… what did you mean by that?"
The Quincy King thought about whether he should answer the question. He didn't answer it last time because he wanted Uryu to be fully committed to him but what if he was wrong? What if telling him the truth convinces the boy to side with him? Obviously, he would have to bend the truth a little.
Yhwach then got up from his throne and walked towards the boy, putting on a somber act and speaking in a low voice. "I didn't want to tell you this until you were ready, but I guess I have no other choice."
Jugram's eyes widened. 'Is he going to tell him about the Soul King!?'
"You see, since the dawn of time, the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the World of the Living were all once one singular world. They were inhabited by souls, many of these souls would transform into horrible creatures of death and destruction, known as 'Hollows.' They began to devour the other inhabitants without regard or mercy," explained Yhwach.
Uryu couldn't believe what Yhwach just said. He knew about the three worlds from his grandfather, but he never mentioned that they were at one time one gigantic world.
"But one day a special soul was born, the culmination of all things holy and just, and that soul had the means to destroy these Hollows for good" finished the Quincy King.
The Prince's eyes widened as he realized only one race could completely wipe out Hollows. "W-Was that soul a Quincy?"
Yhwach smiled. "He wasn't just a Quincy, my son. He was the Quincy. And from him I was born."
Uryu had to blink as that information slapped him across the face. "He's your father?"
"That is right, and thanks to his efforts the number of Hollows in the Merged World was drastically reduced, and the souls all lived in harmony." The Quincy King's face then darkened. "But then a group of twisted, evil beings had betrayed him."
"Who?"
"A group of powerful beings that would be known today as the Four Great Noble Families of the Soul Society. Their plans were spearheaded by a powerful pawn of theirs, a dark monk known as Hyosube Ichibei," answered Yhwach with a twinge of disgust uttering that monk's name.
'So even back then the Shinigami screwed over Quincy's. Wait a minute, how do I know he's telling the truth?' thought the Prince.
"And why did they betray your father?" asked Uryu as he narrowed his eyes.
Yhwach had to think carefully of his response, to tell Uryu about the Shinigami's plot of sealing Hell away from the Merged World would probably convince him that the Shinigami were justified, he must not have him fall for such delusions. "Because his strength and foresight opposed their sinister plan of creating a world of fear, a world ruled by solely themselves. So they sliced away his limbs and organs, and placed his corpse within a crystal. The Soul King's grave now stands as the keystone to this dreadful world that the Shinigami had forcefully made."
Uryu digested what Yhwach said, he still didn't believe a word of it. "I think you're lying to me."
The room went silent as those words left Uryu's mouth. Jugram could have sworn he saw Yhwach be slightly taken aback by what the Prince said.
'This boy is asking for a quick death,' thought the Sternritter Grandmaster.
"Why do you think I'm lying to you?" smirked Yhwach.
"Because why should I trust anything you say after you lied to me about my grandfather?" questioned Uryu.
"What are you talking about?" questioned Yhwach.
Uryu was starting to get angry, he knew Yhwach knew what he meant. "You said my grandfather left the Schatten Bereich because he disagreed with your ways, but the truth was that he was banished. You made it seem like he abandoned his people, but I think I have a theory as to why he was banished. It was because he hated your philosophy and that you were terrible people," accused the Prince.
Yhwach narrowed his eyes at his Successor. He was kind of impressed that he was smart enough to figure out he was lying, but he wanted to know who told him this as he ordered Jugram to tell the Sternritter to not talk about how Souken was banished. The Quincy King was going to have to think of a way to manipulate this boy into believing him, but how?
'The boy clearly idolized that old fool. There's got to be something I can do to make him trust me,' thought Yhwach. Just then an idea came into the Quincy King's mind.
"You're right I did lie to you… and for that I'm sorry," said Yhwach as he put his hand on Uryu's head and ruffled it.
Jugram and the three other figures stared in disbelief as the word 'sorry' has never come out of Yhwach's mouth.
The Prince then tried to take Yhwach's hand off his head as he hated when people did that. However, Uryu's assault on his head stopped as Yhwach bent down to look him in the eye.
"But Uryu, you need to understand, I did it to protect you."
Uryu backed away. "What are you talking about? What do you mean by protecting me?"
Yhwach sighed. "The truth was, Souken Ishida was banished because he betrayed several Quincy families in the World of the Living, by giving their locations away to the Soul Reapers."
Jugrams eyes widened at the lie Yhwach had just told.
"W-What?" sputtered Uryu.
Yhwach then put his hand on his Successor's shoulder. "I'm sorry my son, but when your grandfather was captured by the Soul Reapers, they manipulated him, they threatened him. They told him all of the propaganda about the so-called soul balance and gave him a deal to give up the locations of the remaining Quincy families hiding in Karakura town and Naruki city in exchange for his life and his family to be spared…" Yhwach got closer to the boy, "they threatened your life, Uryu. He couldn't have possibly put you at risk, so he fed you those same lies…"
"Y-You're lying!" yelled Uryu as he swiped Yhwach's hand from his shoulder.
Yhwach gave the young Quincy a fake depressed look, pretending to avoid looking into the boy's eyes so he appeared emotional. "I'm not, my son. Your family is the only Japanese Quincy family alive after the second genocide of our people… I understand it's hard to accept that your grandfather was a traitor, but I will not criticize him any more since he once stood as your saviour."
The Prince was starting to have tears in his eyes as he thought about what the Quincy King said. This had to be a lie, there's no way his grandfather would sell his own people out, but then he remembered all of the other Quincy's calling his grandfather a race traitor.
"I don't believe you," said Uryu as tears fell from his eyes and onto the blue reishi floor. He could feel his world crashing down. Was his grandfather's philosophy a lie? The Prince then angrily looked at Yhwach and yelled, "I want proof!"
"Very well. I'll have Jugram bring you the information to prove that I'm not lying to you," said Yhwach confidently. When he said that he noticed his Successor's eyes widened. The Quincy King then smiled. "I promise you my son, I'm not lying to you."
The Prince then recovered. "I'll decide that for myself," he said as he wiped the tears off his face.
Yhwach noticed Uryu's broken glasses. "My son, give me those."
Uryu looked at the Quincy King and backed away. "No, my grandfather gave me these glasses."
"I can fix them" replied Yhwach as he put his hand out.
"How?"
"Just hand them to me my son"
"Fine," said the Prince as he took his broken glasses off and handed them to Yhwach.
The Quincy King then brought the glasses up to his face and concentrated, making reishi come from the floor and into the broken specs. Uryu watched in awe as his glasses were being repaired.
"H-How did you do that?" asked Uryu as he recovered from his shock. The young prince had never seen anyone use reishi to repair something.
Yhwach smiled as he gave the glasses to the young prince. "It's simple I used some reishi from the floor to repair it"
"But I didn't know you can break the physical bonds of objects to repair another object," said Uryu as he looked at his glasses with amazement.
"I can do a lot of things, my son. For instance this entire kingdom was built by me" explained Yhwach. The Quincy king just looked at his successor and put his hand on his head. 'I will teach you a lot, Uryu.' he thought.
Outside the throne room
"Ugh, will they just hurry up!" complained Bambietta as she stomped on the ground.
"Just be patient Bambi," sighed Greta as she stood against the wall.
"I want to go see As Nodt," pouted Giselle.
"I really don't understand why you like that weirdo," sighed Bambietta as she went towards her new friend.
"Because he's so cool, Bambi-Chan," beamed Giselle.
"Giselle, I really think you shouldn't go anywhere near As Nodt," said Greta. The caretaker Sternritter then looked up to the ceiling and closed her eyes. 'I wonder what Uryu is going through in there,' she thought.
Greta then looked towards her right to see the servant standing there nervously. The Sternritter knew she was scared about getting punished.
"Hey, calm down," said Greta as she walked towards the servant.
"S-Sorry my lady, I'm just scared," said the blonde-haired servant. She wasn't scared to admit this because Greta had a reputation for treating her subordinates with respect.
"What's your name?"
"Helga Hanfte," she said as she wiped away her tears.
Greta then put her hand on Helga's shoulders. "Don't worry, that monster can't hurt you anymore."
Meanwhile, Bambietta and Giselle watched in confusion not knowing what she meant.
"Who's she talking about?" asked Giselle.
Bambietta scoffed. "How should I know and why should we care? She's a low level."
Greta heard what Bambietta said and turned to look at her. "You should have a little more care for your subordinates, Bambi."
"Tch, you sound just like Ishida."
"Maybe you should learn something from him," said Greta as she got her hand off Helga.
"Why should I he's just a gemis–"
"SHUT UP!" yelled Greta.
Bambietta, Giselle, and Helga all stared wide-eyed at the oldest Sternritter.
"Bambi, you weren't around when Gemischt Quincy were here in the Schatten Bereich so stop with this discrimination," said Greta.
Bambietta pouted. "We learned it in the Kinder Center…"
"I don't care, just stop it," said Greta. She then brought her attention to Helga. "Anyway, don't worry about his majesty I'm pretty su–"
LOVE KISS!
Suddenly a heart flew past Greta and landed on Helga's face, making her pupils turn into hearts.
"Pepe-sama!" cheered the blonde maid.
Bambietta and Giselle backed away immediately as they were put off by the maid's behavior.
Greta turned around immediately as she knew who's attack that was. She then got in front of Bambietta and Giselle and shielded them from the man.
"What the hell Gr-…" Bambietta stopped as she saw Pepe Waccabrada float towards them.
"Gi Gi Gi!" chuckled the obese Quincy.
"You have two seconds to leave before I kill you," threatened Greta as she revealed her cross.
"Relax Frau Greystone, I'm just here to retrieve one of the missing members of my harem," explained Pepe as he floated over to Helga.
"Pepe-sama, I missed you!" cheered Helga as she went up to the obese Quincy and gave him a kiss.
"Gross…" cringed Bambietta.
'Oh no,' thought Greta.
Giselle just stuck her tongue out in disgust.
"Thank you for your love, Helga," said Pepe. He then saw the looks that other Sternritters gave him. "Now ladies don't be disgusted at what you're seeing, it is true love!"
"No, you're a creep. That woman just got away from you, and now you brought her back to hell," insulted Greta.
Pepe then gave his fellow Sternritter a hurt look. "Why Frau Greystone, I'm just giving everyone a taste of love."
"No, you're taking advantage of people with your Schrift!" yelled Greta.
'That was his Schrift?' thought Bambietta.
Pepe gasped. "Frau Greystone, I figured someone like you would understand considering what we've been through. I still remember those nights where we would cuddle and make lo–"
Greta then grabbed Pepe by the shirt and pinned him against the wall.
"Agh–!" the obese Quincy yelped whilst being overpowered by the woman.
Her gaze was fierce and she seemed ready to take his life away at any moment. "I'm not that girl you took advantage of anymore, and you're lucky there's a rule against Sternritter fighting other Sternritter." After that she let him go as he fell to the floor.
The two younger Quincy's watched in awe at the raw strength Greta showed. "Woah Bambi-chan, Frau Greystone is strong," said Giselle as she watched in awe.
'She was able to grab that big man and pin him against the wall like it was nothing!' thought Bambietta.
Pepe then got up and dusted himself off. "V-Very well, I shall leave," he then turned around and yelled, "Alright ladies we're moving out!"
"L-Ladies?" said Bambietta.
Just then a herd of women came walking through the hallway chanting various things like, "we love you, Pepe," or, "I need you in my life, Pepe."
Bambietta then turned towards Greta. "W-What is this?"
Greta's face darkened. "H-His harem."
The group of girls just watched the parade of women walking by. These were women that Pepe collected for his own sick pleasure.
"G-Greta, what does he do to them?" asked Bambietta.
Greta looked down at the young girl. She didn't know what to say or how to explain this to someone her age, so she just said, "Whatever he wants."
Bambietta looked back at the parade of women walking. It just wouldn't end, how many does this monster have! 'It's still going,' she thought.
Just then Giselle tapped her shoulder. "Gigi, what did I say about personal space?" sighed the explosive Quincy.
"I-I know but look isn't that the pink-haired girl from the Kinder Center," said Giselle as she pointed at the crowd.
Bambietta looked at the crowd and noticed someone familiar, that someone was Meninas McAllon.
"M-Meni!"
"Do you know her?" asked Greta.
"Y-Yes," replied Bambietta.
'So, you're taking girls from the Kinder Center again you sick bastard' Greta thought. She then looked at Bambietta and could see she was sad.
"I'm sorry about your friend Bambi…"
Bambietta then pouted. "S-She's not my friend, she was my lackey…"
Suddenly the doors opened revealing Jugram and Uryu. Greta could immediately tell something was bothering the young prince as he looked depressed.
"About time you came back," complained Bambietta as she rolled her eyes, but the Prince didn't listen as he just stared at the ground, making the explosive Quincy upset.
Bambietta growled as she went up to the Prince. "Hey, don't ignore me!" She shouted as she grabbed Uryu's collar.
"Please don't touch me", sadly mumbled Uryu.
Bambietta then let go of the prince's collar and gave him a weird look. "What's up with you?"
"Just leave me alone Bambietta," Uryu mumbled again.
"Woah, Uryu are you okay?" asked Greta as she went up to the young prince. She then looked at Jugram. "What happened?"
Jugram sighed. "We need to talk, Greystone."
"About what?" said Greta as she crossed her arms.
Jugram did not respond as he just stared Greta directly in her eyes, signifying that he would rather talk about whatever he wanted in private.
Greta rolled her eyes before bringing her attention to Bambietta and Giselle. "Bambi, I'm trusting you with escorting Uryu and Giselle back to the room."
"Actually Gewelle has been summoned to the throne room for her Schrift ceremony," interrupted Jugram.
Giselle's eyes widened. "I'm getting a Schrift today?!"
"Yes," replied Jugram with a deadpan expression.
Giselle was oozing with excitement as getting a Schrift was the highest honor a Quincy could have in the Schatten Bereich.
"Now Gewelle, you do know what to do in the ceremony, right?" asked Jugram as he narrowed his eyes at the new Sternritter recruit. For some reason the Sternritter Grandmaster felt suspicious of Giselle, like he knew that she was going to be a problem for him in the future.
"Yes sir!" saluted Giselle.
Greta sighed at new sternritters antics before turning her attention to Bambietta. "Alright, Bambi your job just got easier, now you just got to escort Uryu to the room."
"Yay me," sarcastically replied Bambietta. The explosive Quincy then turned her attention to the prince, grabbed his arm and said in a demanding tone "Come on Ishida!"
Bambietta then dragged the prince down the hall, leaving Greta, Jugram, and Giselle.
"Gewelle, take this," said Jugram as he got a little silver bowl from his pocket and handed it to the new Sternritter recruit.
Giselle nodded as she took the bowl. "When do I go in?" she asked with a smile.
"In twenty minutes," said Jugram. He then brought his attention to Greta. "Let's talk in my quarters."
The caretaker Quincy then nodded.
Greta's Apartment- Silbern
Uryu sat down on his bed as he felt his world come crashing down. The anxiety of his grandfather's philosophy being wrong sent the boy's mind down a dark place.
'Was peace ever an option with the soul reapers?' he thought as tears came crashing down his face.
"Are you crying again?"
Uryu looked towards the door to see Bambietta.
"B-Bambi?"
"Yeah it's me," said Bambietta as she walked into the room.
Uryu sniffed and rubbed his eye. "I-I'm not in the mood Bambi…"
Bambietta rolled her eyes. "Don't tell me you're still sad about what happened to that idiot Driscoll?"
Uryu thought about whether he should tell Bambetta about what he had been told in the throne room but he then remembered what Jugram said to him before he left the throne room.
"You must not tell this to anyone"
"Um, yeah I guess I guess I'm a little sad about killing someone from my race" said the young prince.
"Wait, you actually killed him?!" exclaimed Bambietta.
The Explosive Sternritter couldn't believe what she heard. Did a Gemischt actually kill an Echt Sternritter? She knew she told Uryu to stop being a wimp and to not worry about taking a life due to it being self defense but she didn't actually think Uryu was capable of killing Driscoll. Hell, Bambietta thought something else was responsible for Driscoll's death.
Bambietta then grabbed onto Uryu's hair and pulled it. "Tell me everything!"
"O-Okay just let go!" yelled Uryu as he felt hair about to leave his head.
Bambietta listened and let his hair go, making sure to cross her arms.
"When I went with Driscoll, we stopped at the Gefängnis so he could do his execution duties."
"So?"
"I thought the people he was going to kill would be bad people and not servants that didn't follow their superiors' orders. So, after Driscoll killed that blonde maid, I lost it, I then got out my sword and fought him," explained Uryu.
Bamabietta's eyes widened. "You tried to fight him?"
Uryu sighed. "I wanted to go home, alright. Anyway, I stood no chance against him, and I was on the floor a second later. While I was on the floor, I looked at the blonde maid that was nailed to the wall and two seconds later she was suddenly fine, and Driscoll was the one that was dead."
"So… your Schrift lets you reverse the state of things?" guessed Bambietta with a look of uncertainty.
"Yeah, I'm surprised you figured it out," said Uryu with a surprised look.
"I'M NOT STUPID! yelled Bambietta as she punched Uryu in the chest. She then crossed her arms and gave the young prince a curious look. "So how were you able to use your Schrift? I thought you needed his Majesty's blood to get one?"
"A-Apparently some Schrift's can be partially unlocked by being near Yhwach," said Uryu as he held his chest.
Bambietta's eyes widened. "Huh, that's interesting, well I guess if you're able to kill a Sternritter then you're not a total loser."
Uryu frowned. "Gee thanks."
Crash*
Uryu and Bambietta looked at each other before running out the room.
"Who's there!" yelled Bambietta as she summoned reishi in her hand but stopped as she recognized the intruder and that intruder as Liltotto Lamperd. The blonde haired Quincy looked like she had just jumped through the window.
"Relax bomber bitch it's me," replied the chubby Quincy as she dusted herself off.
"L-Liltotto!" they both yelled.
Silbern-Yhwach's Throne Room
Giselle Gewelle walked into the throne room for the first time. The room looked just like the pictures from the books that were given to them at the Kinder Center. 'It's amazing,' she thought as she looked around the dark room.
"Giselle Gewelle."
Giselle was taken out of her thoughts as she had forgotten where she was. What a stupid moment for her, being lost in thought in front of his Majesty. She did not want to keep the king waiting so she walked closer and closer until King Yhwach was right in front of her.
"Kneel," he said.
Without question Giselle kneeled and held the bowl out in front of her. Yhwach then put his left hand out revealing a Quincy cross. Giselle looked up confused as this wasn't something that was in her Kinder Center books. Sweat rolled down the new Sternritter recruit's face. For the first time in a while she was scared. Had she forgotten something? Just then the Quincy King pulled out a knife that was in his right pocket.
'W-What is that?' she thought.
This wasn't an ordinary knife as the hilt was golden, with the Wandenreich symbol on it. Yhwach then proceeded to cut his left hand which held the cross in a smooth singular swipe. Giselle's eyes widened as the Quincy King's blood fell on the floor.
"Gewelle, bring the bowl forward," demanded the Quincy King.
Giselle did as she was told and brought the bowl forward, being careful not to drop it. She watched the blood drip into the bowl until it covered the Wandenreich symbol.
*DRIP* *DRIP*
That is all that could be heard from the throne room.
"You know Ms. Gewelle, you have an interesting ability," complimented Yhwach.
Giselle's eyes widened. Did Yhwach call her a "she"?
Yhwach chuckled. "Are you surprised that I referred to you as a "she"?"
"Y-Yes your Majesty."
"Don't be afraid my child, if you want to be referred to as a she then that's how everyone will have to address you from now on," said Yhwach.
Giselle smiled. She was already loving being a Sternritter.
"Now listen, my daughter…" Yhwach began to announce.
"I shall bestow you the letter 'Z', for the Zombie."
"The Zombie?" Giselle seemed curious and excited.
"Yes, once you consume my blood it will soon be awakened," answered Yhwach.
"Now drink, my daughter, and awaken what is rightfully yours."
Giselle then looked at the bowl of blood, she could see her own reflection in the dark red fluid.
She then looked back at Quincy King and nodded before taking the bowl and putting it to her lip. She could feel herself getting stronger as the blood went down her throat as she sipped.
Meanwhile, Yhwach smiled as he could see the 'Z' that was etched upon Giselle's soul start to form.
Just then the doors opened revealing two high ranking soldats.
"You're majesty, all the Sternritters are in the cathedral like you asked," said one of the soldats.
"Good," said Yhwach as he got up from his throne. He then looked at his new holy knight, grabbing her shoulder. "Come my daughter and let me introduce the Wandenreich to its newest holy knight."
Silbern-Greta's Apartment
"Lil, what the hell are you doing here?! And how the hell did you escape the Kinder center!?" yelled Bambietta.
"Shut the hell up, bitch!" said Liltotto in a hushed tone. She then looked at Uryu who was also surprised that she was here.
"I need you to tell me where Pepe Waccabrada's room is," asked the chubby blonde Quincy.
"Pepe Waccabrada? That was the Sternritter that blonde maid feared," said Uryu as remembered the events of the execution room.
"That's right smartass. I'm trying to find that fat bastard so I can rescue Meni and kill him," Liltotto explained.
"Are you dumb fatass?! You can't kill a sternritter!" yelled Bambietta.
"Well I'm not letting my friend be touched by that creep!" yelled Liltotto, making Uryu and Bambietta jaws drop.
"W-What are you talking about?" asked Uryu, a hint of fear leaving his voice.
Liltotto sighed. "Pepe has a reputation of going to the Kinder Center and picking the kinders who look "good" in the future to be his assistants."
Uryu knew what Liltotto was trying to say and he didn't like it one bit. In fact he could feel himself getting sick just thinking about it. But sickness wasn't the only thing he was feeling as it was a mix of anger as well. Yhwach had to have known something like this was going on.
"Gross, so that's the reason he does that!" rasped Bambietta.
"Yes it is and that's why I have to save Meni," stated Liltotto. She then sighed and "I'm going to need your help"
"You can't save her, she's already been brainwashed by that bastard's Schrift!" explained Bambietta.
Liltotto clenched her fist. "I can still save her."
Bambietta looked at the chubby blonde like she was dumb. "Are you stupid, I just said she's brainwashed! Besides, why should I risk myself to save her!"
Liltotto just looked at her with a mixture of shock and anger. "You're a selfish cunt. Meninas had your back when you were at the Kinder Center."
Bambietta crossed her arms and glared at the chubby quincy. "No she didn't"
"Yes she did! She protected you when the other kids made fun of you because you couldn't craft a bow, you idiot!" fumed Liltotto.
"S-She did?" questioned Bambietta as her eyes widened. The explosive Quincy always found it weird how none of the other kids made fun of her after it got out she was terrible at forming reishi.
"She did. Every time someone was about to pick on you, Meninas was always there to stop them before they could get to you, but I guess you didn't see that because you were too busy picking on James," explained Liltotto.
"W-Well that's her damn fault I had never asked her to do any of that! The Kinder Center has taught us that we only fight for ourselves and we have to only worry about our own survival!" yelled Bambietta.
Liltotto growled before turning around. "Fuck you Bambietta!"
Bambietta's eyes widened as Liltotto's words hurt her. "Fuck you too, fatass!" she yelled as she put up her middle finger.
"Liltotto, wait up I'm coming with you," Uryu spoke up after listening to them argue, grabbing his sword from the couch.
"Really?" said Liltotto as she turned around.
"What! Ishida, you can't be serious!" yelled Bambietta.
Uryu turned to look at Bambietta. "I am not going to sit by while that monster harms people!" growled the prince.
"B-But you're hurt!" sputtered Bambietta.
However, Uryu ignored her and walked over towards Liltotto who only nodded. "Thanks Ishida," said the glutton with a smile, which wasn't the norm for the blonde Quincy as she usually had a deadpan expression. Liltotto wouldn't admit this but she kinda liked Uryu and was kinda glad he wasn't some snotty brat.
Bambietta watched as the two Quincies made their way to the door that led into the Silbern halls. 'I can't just let him leave, if that idiot gets hurt then it's on me!' she thought as her cheeks flushed red with anger.
"Dammit fine I'll go!" she yelled out.
Uryu and Liltotto turned around to see Bambietta who looked to be pissed. The explosive Quincy then stomped towards Uryu and Liltotto but not before shoving the prince, making him wince in pain.
"Ow, what was that for?!" yelped Uryu as he held bruised ribs.
Bambietta then turned around. "That's for making me go along with you idiots!"
"I hate when you do that Bambietta!" complained Uryu as he recovered from the nudge the explosive Quincy gave him.
To be Continued!
Notes:
I'm sorry I haven't updated this story in forever. I just have been dealing with personal stuff in my life. Anyway, now that Yhwach has explained to Uryu about the truth of the Soul King, how do you think he will react? Also, Yhwach is an evil bastard for slandering Souken.
But, yeah, the next chapter is going to be very dark. You've been warned.
Leave a review. I'd love the feedback!
A big thank you to Darun1 for helping me with Uryu and Yhwach's conversation. Also, thanks to MissMartian369 for beta reading. Also, I have a discord let me know if you want to join.
