Chapter Text
Hell.
It's supposed to be that place of eternal suffering, screams of the damned, fire and brimstone.
And it is.
Sometimes.
But it's also a place of freedom. Sinners can do whatever they please, knowing that they can't go anywhere worse, really. Is double Hell a thing? Probably not. Besides, it's not like anyone can die again. Unless by an Exorcist’s angelic blade.
One spot of temptation, was Pride's Paradise, a casino located on the outskirts of Pentagram City. Standing at four stories tall, brightly lit, it was buzzing with sinners trying their luck.
Currently, up on the third floor in a private room, a gray and white cat with impressive red and black wings sat across from a towering moth demon at a poker table. The cat looked highly bored, while the moth was slowly losing his (admittedly already bad) poker face.
“Look, Tino, ya got nothing else to bet if you wanna keep your empire,” the cat said, tail swaying.
“One more game!” the moth yelled. The cat growled.
“Valentino, these walls aren't sound proof,” he snarled. The moth, Valentino, tsked.
“One more,” he said again, quieter. “Come on, Husker.” The cat, Husker, rolled his eyes.
“And what do you have left to bet besides your own soul?” he asked. Valentino smiled.
“My number one contracted soul,” he said. He waved a hand, a rolled up, slightly pink contract appearing on the table. Husker rose a brow.
“Very well. I'll bet everything you lost to me, plus one of my smaller casinos,” Husker said. Valentino seemed to light up at that idea.
“Deal!” he agreed quickly. Husker hid a smirk and dealt a new game.

Angel sat in his dressing room, putting on his makeup for the shoot Val had scheduled for him. Being a spider demon had its perks in moments like these, the extra hands came in…..well, handy.
He had just finished doing his eyeliner and mascara, when Valentino barged into the room. Angel jumped.
“Val!” he plastered on a smile, immediately taking note of the moth's pissed off mood. “Everything okay, Daddy?”
“Put on that little black thing and meet me at the front doors,” Valentino said, pointing at the outfit in question. It was a black, backless dress, skintight and only coming down to the middle of Angel's long thighs. The back was low cut and barely covered his ass, while the front had a lacy spiderweb design that would form a halter top and cradle his chest fluff. Long black opera gloves accompanied it.
“Are….we going somewhere?” Angel asked carefully. Valentino just growled and left, slamming the door and causing Angel to flinch hard. He quickly got up and got dressed, deciding not to question the Overlord. Clearly, they were abandoning the shoot to go on this little outing, so Angel wasn't going to complain.
Soon, he found himself in Valentino's lap inside his limo. Angel wisely kept his mouth shut, watching out the window as he nervously tried to figure out where they were going.
“We're going to the casino, araña,” Valentino snapped, tired of Angel fidgeting with his hands. The spider stilled, blushing.
“The casino? Want me to be your arm candy?” Angel tried for a smile. Valentino lit a cigarette, blowing out the smoke slowly.
“No,” he said. “Just stay quiet.”
That….that was a first.
Angel blinked, but did as he was told, forcing himself to remain still. He didn't have to try for too long, as they finally arrived at the casino. Pride's Paradise.
Valentino shoved Angel off his lap, then pulled him from the car. Angel suppressed a wince as the moth's claws dug painfully into his left arm, piercing the skin. He quickly fell into step beside the Overlord, following him inside to the host’s podium.
“Welcome to Pride's Paradise!” a voice said in a lovely British accent. Angel blinked when he saw a tiny brown bunny with a black and gold bowtie. “My name is Vanilla Sky! How can I help?”
“Your boss is expecting me,” Valentino growled. The bunny's ears twitched, his face falling.
“O-oh! Of course, just a moment, Mister Valentino,” he said. Angel saw Vanilla's nose twitch fearfully, before he hopped down from his podium, going to get his boss.
Angel took the moment to look around the room. There were table games, slot machines, a freaking bowling lane?! There was also an arcade towards the back, past a bar area. And this was just the first floor!!
“Please follow me!” Vanilla had come back. Angel had to look down to see the tiny bunny, he only came up to Angel's knees. At tallest.
“Lead the way, conejo,” Valentino grit out. Angel swallowed softly as they followed the bunny up the grand stairs in the center of the room. Angel didn't bother to look at the second and third floors as they passed, too busy getting stressed.
Why had Val brought him here? And why were there so many goddamn stairs? They'd walked up two flights of stairs before Angel finally saw an elevator. Vanilla swiped a keycard he'd pulled from his fluffy hair, before stepping aside to allow Angel and Valentino to enter first.
“In,” Valentino hissed, dragging Angel inside. Angel tried not to stumble. Vanilla stepped in last, jumping up to push the “Up” button on the elevator. Angel vaguely noticed that there were only the two buttons: up and down. This must be a private elevator then.
When the doors opened, they were greeted with a set of impressive wooden doors. Vanilla calmly hopped over, then knocked.
“Come in,” a deep voice said. Angel's eyes widened at how smooth it sounded. Vanilla pushed open the door for Valentino and Angel.
“Sir, Mister Valentino is here. He's brought-”
“Yes, I know who he brought. Thanks, Nills,” Husker interrupted. He smiled at the bunny, who nodded and left to go back downstairs.
“Husker,” Valentino's voice was clipped. Husker stood up from behind his desk, gesturing to the couch that sat to the left of the two.
“Wanna seat?” he asked. Valentino snarled, shoving Angel forward.
“Here's your prize. I don't see why I needed to drop him off,” Val said. Husker scoffed, then went over to a bar on the right side of the room.
“Because he is….sorry, WAS your soul?” Husker said. Angel gasped.
“Wait, what?!” he whirled on Valentino. “You….you bet my soul here?! To him?!?”
“You didn't tell him?” Husker said. He frowned at Valentino.
“Doesn't matter,” Valentino bit out. “Angel, you belong to Husker now. The Gambling Overlord.”
Angel's world spun.
He….he'd been traded? Like some cheap poker chip?? And he hadn't even known!
“I….” Angel tried to protest, but…..but he wasn't Val's anymore. Did he really want to go back to the moth? Before he could decide, Husker spoke up.
“Thanks for coming, Tino, now get out,” Husk said. His tail flicked as he took a sip of the whiskey he'd poured himself, watching the moth storm from the office.
And then there were two.
“So,” Angel said after a moment. He took a breath, plastering on a smile and slinking over to the bar. “How do you want me, Daddy?”
Angel knew how this was going to go. There's only one reason anyone would want him after all, and all Overlords were pretty much the same.
But to Angel's surprise, Husker grimaced and backed away.
“Ew, no. Do not call me that. Boss or Husk is fine,” Husk said. Angel blinked.
“Um, okay?” he said eloquently.
“What are you good at?” Husk asked, setting his drink aside and grabbing a new glass, starting to make a different drink.
“Anything ya want, Da-..... Boss~” Angel caught his near slip in time, not wanting to piss off his new Overlord. Husk rose a brow.
“Oh yeah? You good at crunching numbers? I find that boring as shit,” he said. Angel blinked again.
“What?” he asked. Husk smirked.
“I asked what you're good at, not what I want you to be good at,” he clarified. “What skills do you have? And no, I don't mean sexually, none of that shit.”
“Uh….” Angel had to take a second to process that.
No sex? But….but he was a pornstar!
Or….WAS anyway….
“Come on, kid, I ain't got all day,” Husk slid a martini glass with a light pink drink over to the spider.
“I….I guess I'm good at flirting?” Angel said, uncertainly. That wasn't sexual. At least, not always. Husk snorted.
“I got that, what else?” he pressed. Angel pouted.
“I'm a good dancer,” he said. Pole dancing, but he was a fast learner. Husk hummed.
“Dancing, huh? I think we could make that work,” he said. Angel took the martini glass, taking a sip.
“Whoa, this….this is really good!” he smiled. Husk chuckled.
“Glad you like it. On to business,” he said, picking his whiskey back up. He snapped his fingers and Angel's contract appeared, along with a pair of glasses, a legal pad, and a pen. “This contract is shit, by the way. So we're gonna start from scratch.” Husk put on his glasses. “And not a word about the glasses.”
Angel shut his mouth, about to make an innuendo about them.
“So, you'll work as a dancer here, be provided with housing and a fair wage,” Husk wrote down on his pad.
“A wage?” Angel asked. Husk glanced up.
“Yes? Did….did Valentino not pay you?” Husk asked. Angel shook his head. Husk sighed. “Well, you'll be paid here. Some ground rules, show up to work on time, no weapons on the floor and no sexually harassing the staff or patrons.”
“I don't-”
“Do the sex on your own time, not on my floor,” Husk cut in, looking up from his writing once again. “Flirtin’ is fine, but don't push it.” Angel nodded again. “You can drink on the job, but know your limits and don't get drunk. I don't care if you do drugs, but don't come to work high as a kite, got it?”
“Yes sir,” Angel said. His head was reeling from all the new terms. Husk nodded, satisfied with Angel's answer.
“Anything you wanna add to this?” Husk asked. Angel frowned thoughtfully.
“You….ain't whoring me out? I'm just supposed to dance?” he asked. Husk cringed.
“Yes, just dancing. If you want a different job, we can discuss that at a later date,” he said. Angel thought over everything.
“I wanna add that I get to keep my pig, no matter what. And that he can't be used against me,” Angel said. Husk looked surprised.
“Your….pig?” he asked. Angel nodded, and Husk shrugged, adding that in. Angel felt a bit better knowing Fat Nuggets would be safe. “Alright, I think that's it.” Husk tore the page from the pad, flipping it around to Angel and holding out the pen.
“I still gotta sign?” he asked, taking the pen.
“Just a formality, I already own your soul,” Husk explained. Angel tried not to let his shoulders drop, signing his human name at the bottom. Husk took the pen and paper, signing his own name at the top. The page began to glow orange, before rolling up and disappearing.
“Now what?” Angel asked. He had finished his drink as Husk had been writing, now fidgeting with his hands for something to do. Husk took off his glasses.
“I'll have someone escort you to your apartment,” he said. “They'll go get your stuff from your old place. Where is that, by the way?”
“Um….I lived with Val,” Angel admitted. “Or at least, at the Tower.” Husk sighed.
“Right, makes sense. Well, I'll have someone grab your things,” he said. He walked over to his desk, pressing a button on the phone there. “Cutter? Can you come up here?” He didn't wait for a response.
“Cutter?” Angel asked.
“My head of security,” Husk explained. Not a minute later, there was a knock on the door, Husk telling the person to come in.
A tan shark demon with white hair and green eyes stepped into the room. He wore a dark gray suit with a black and gold bowtie, a handgun strapped to his belt.
“You wanted to see me, sir?” he asked.
“Cutter, this is Angel Dust,” Husk said. “He's the newest soul here. Needs an escort to his new place.” He tossed a set of keys the shark's way, Cutter easily catching them.
“Sure thing. Right this way, Angel,” he smiled. Angel glanced at Husk, who nodded. So Angel stood and followed the shark from the room.
They went out the same way Angel had come in, so down all the stairs.
“How come there ain't more elevators?” Angel complained. Cutter chuckled.
“The boss likes the look of the grand staircases,” he explained. Angel nodded, like that made any sort of logical sense.
“So, you been working for the Gambling Overlord long?” Angel asked, making conversation as Cutter led him from the casino and down the street.
“Since the late eighties,” he said. “I hadn't been down here very long and when the boss found me, I was in pretty rough shape. He offered to give me a job.” Cutter shrugged. Angel narrowed his eyes a little, sensing more to the story. But he wouldn't push.
“All his staff belong to him?” Angel changed the topic.
“Yeah,” Cutter said, guiding Angel to an apartment building nearby. “He's a pretty good boss, all things considered.”
“Yeah, seems like it…..he actually pays ya,” Angel said, getting a laugh out of Cutter.
“Right?” he smiled. “Anyway, this is the employee apartment building. Boss lives in the top floor penthouse. Your apartment is on the third floor. And don't worry, there are plenty of elevators here.”
“Ha, thanks,” Angel smiled. Cutter seemed like an okay guy. The shark handed Angel his keys, a little placard with the number “311” stamped into it hanging beside them.
“I'll let you get settled and make sure the boss has someone getting your things here,” Cutter said. Angel nodded.
“Okay. I, uh, guess I'll see ya tomorrow?” Angel asked. Cutter nodded, then left. Angel took a breath and made his way into the apartment building.
Boy, this place was FANCY.
Black marble and gold accents decorated the main common areas of the building. Angel gaped and stared at it all as he made his way to the elevators.
The Vee's Tower couldn't hold a candle to this place.
Upon reaching the correct floor, Angel found his door pretty quickly. He unlocked it and stepped inside.
“Whoa…..this is all mine?” Angel asked to the empty air.
The place was way bigger than his old one. A massive bedroom with a queen-sized bed was off to the left, the right held a full kitchen. The living space was large and cozy, a spectacular view of the city outside of the massive windows. The whole place was decorated in the black and gold, but Angel also noticed bits of red accenting the place as well.
Deciding to explore more tomorrow, he made his way to the bed, laying down on top of the red comforter.
What the fuck had he just gotten into?
Notes:
LONG chapter, but I had to set the scene!
For Pride's Paradise, I actually built this in the Sims 4 😂 So I would know exactly how it looked while writing.
Kudos to my friend Celestial for allowing me to use her character Vanilla Sky for this story! Nills is such a sweet little bun that we will be seeing more of, along with a few others~

Chapter Text
Angel woke with a soft sigh, stretching out in his bed. He actually felt rested for once.
When was the last time he'd slept so soundly?
Blinking open his eyes, he frowned at the unfamiliar ceiling. Then everything from the night before came rushing back.
“Holy shit, that wasn't a dream,” Angel muttered to himself. He sat up, realizing he was still in his dress from the night before. He looked around and noticed a closet nearby, so he got up and opened it.
“What the-?!”
Upon opening the closet, he realized it was a walk in. And it was FILLED with fancy clothes. Angel noticed it was mostly masculine, button downs and slacks. That was fine, but maybe he could convince his new boss to get him some dresses. Especially if he was gonna be dancing.
Angel peeled off his dress, changing into some black slacks (that surprisingly fit his long legs). He also noticed the red button down he chose only had one set of sleeves. He'd definitely need to ask for custom stuff. For now, he pulled in his second pair of arms, leaving him with just his primary ones. Lastly, he pulled a golden vest over top, keeping his standard boots on underneath.
He made his way to the bedroom again, now spotting another door across from the closet. Angel peeked inside to find a large bathroom. The same black and gold marble decorated it, a complimentary toothbrush on the wide sink. Angel smiled a little, moving to brush his teeth.
Once done with that, he went back out to the main area, intent on exploring. But before he really could, a knock sounded on his door.
“Coming!” Angel called, making his way over. He opened the door to find Cutter on the other side, smiling at the spider.
“Morning, Angel! I've got some boxes of your stuff for you,” he said, gesturing to the boxes that were stacked on the floor beside him. “Oh, and I had a coworker of mine get your pig. He seemed to-”
“You got Fat Nuggets?!” Angel lit up, smiling widely. Cutter blinked in surprise, before laughing softly.
“Yeah, Farfalla should be up any second with him,” Cutter said. “Want help with these boxes?”
“Oh, um, sure. Sorry, I'm just really happy to know my baby is safe,” Angel chuckled. He grabbed a few of the boxes, Cutter getting the rest, and bringing them inside.
“No worries, I'd probably react the same,” Cutter assured.
“Hello?” a new voice said. Angel turned and saw a small, white butterfly demon standing in the doorway with Fat Nuggets nestled in his arms. “Hi! You must be Angel!”
“Nuggies!” Angel rushed forward and took the little pig, kissing his snout. “Thank you so much!” The butterfly giggled, his mint green and lilac wings fluttering behind him. Angel noticed he had on the standard black and gold bowtie, over a black vest and matching dress pants.
“He's such a cutie, and well behaved,” he said. “I'm Farfalla, but you can call me Falls!”
“Falls, huh? Nice to meet ya,” Angel said. “And is Farfalla your actual name, or….?” Falls giggled again.
“Yes, I'm aware of the irony. A butterfly named ‘Butterfly’,” he said. He seemed more amused than offended. Angel chuckled.
“It at least suits you,” he complimented.
“Oh! Before I forget, the boss wants to see you for lunch. He wanted to give you the morning to get your stuff organized,” Cutter said, coming up beside them. Angel nodded in understanding. “Falls, let's get going.”
“Right! See you later, Angel! Bye Nuggies!” Farfalla smiled, waving as the shark led him from Angel's apartment. Angel waved back.
“Well Nugs, what'd ya think?” Angel set his piglet down, letting him explore the place. Angel followed along, noticing how the couch in the living area was a black and gold leather, a red fluffy rug under it. A black coffee table accompanied it. The curtains were red, and open. Angel decided to take in the view later, wanting to continue his exploration.
The next stop of Nuggets little adventure was the kitchen. The same marble throughout the building made up the countertops and island. A large fridge and oven stood nearby. When Angel opened the refrigerator, he was shocked to see it already full of food.
“I'll probably have to get my own groceries l, but damn, it's nice to start with something,” he mused, closing the door again. He checked the cupboards and found them stocked as well, dishes included. “Shit, they thought of everything.”
An oink nearby drew Angel's attention back to his pig. He smiled and crouched down to pet him, then glanced at the clock on the oven.
“Ah, sorry baby, Daddy has to go. You be good for me and we can decorate later,” Angel gave Nuggets a kiss goodbye before standing. He grabbed his new keys and shoved them into his pocket, before heading downstairs and over to the casino.
Vanilla was at the podium again, smiling when he spotted Angel.
“Hi Angel! The boss is up in his office waiting for you,” he told the spider helpfully.
“Thanks, Vanilla,” Angel said.
“Oh, please, call me Nills,” the bunny said. Angel chuckled.
“Sure thing. Everyone here got a nickname? I was told to call Farfalla ‘Falls’ instead,” Angel asked casually. He noticed Nills' smile soften, the bunny glancing over to a card table where said butterfly was dealing out a game.
“No, not everyone does. But Falls and I like to use ours when we can,” he said. Angel smiled knowingly.
“You and Falls a thing?” he asked. Nills blushed, but smiled.
“Mhm! He's my boyfriend,” the bunny admitted proudly. Angel's smile grew.
“Good for you two,” he said earnestly. He ruffled Vanilla's hair, causing the bunny to squeak at him. Angel chuckled and made his way up the stairs.
Once he got to the elevator though, he realized he didn't have a keycard to access it.
“Shit, now what?” Angel mused. He jumped though when the elevator suddenly opened for him. Surprised, he stepped in and pressed the “Up” button.
Waiting outside the doors to his office was Husk himself. He had on a dark suit with a gold bowtie, smiling at Angel.
“Sorry, I'll get you a keycard to come up here,” Husk said, stepping in and pressing the “Down” button. Angel blushed.
“Oh, um, thanks. You could see me?” he asked. Husk nodded.
“Camera system. I mainly don't check it, but every once in a while some drunk idiot thinks they can force the doors open,” Husk explained.
“Ah, that makes sense,” Angel smiled. Husk looked the spider over.
“You look good,” he commented. Angel puffed up proudly.
“I worked with what ya gave me, sugar~” Angel purred. Husk rolled his eyes.
“I'm glad some of it fit. I was thinking we could go out today and get you some new stuff. Your job is different from everyone else's,” he said, ignoring Angel's flirtations. The spider blinked in surprise.
“Wait, you wanna take me shopping?” he asked.
“Sure, easiest way to find stuff you like and things that'll fit ya,” Husk shrugged. He stepped out of the elevator when the doors opened, waiting for Angel. He followed the Overlord quickly.
“Well, I won't say no to a shopping spree, handsome~” Angel smiled. Husk ignored the pet name again. The two made their way down the stairs and out the main entrance. A sleek, black limo pulled up immediately. Husk held the door open for Angel, who fought down another blush.
What was he, a school girl?? He was a pornstar! He needed to act like it!
….or, ya know, more confident anyway.
Angel climbed inside, immediately noticing the whiskey glasses set up. Husk sat beside him, grabbing a glass and getting himself a drink.
“You always drinking?” Angel asked. Husk chuckled.
“Not always, but it's certainly an addiction,” he said. “I don't when I'm gambling though.” Angel smirked.
“Of course not, you gotta be the big dick in charge~” he said. Husk went bright red.
“Is sex always on your mind or something?” he huffed. Angel snickered.
“Maybe~”
“Of fucking course it is.”
Angel laughed, liking how open he could be around the Overlord. Valentino would have probably hit him by now for his “insubordination”. But Husk hadn't raised a single claw to him.
It was….nice.
But this just meant the other shoe was sure to drop any second. Valentino had also started out sweet and caring. And Angel ended up under his thumb. He couldn't get too comfortable, no matter how good the working conditions were.
“Oh, I forgot about something last night,” Husk said, breaking into Angel's thoughts. The cat set his glass down, holding out a paw. “Let me see your hand.” Confused, Angel put his left hand in Husk's.
“What did ya forget?” Angel asked. Husk brought his other hand up, tapping Angel's wrist. A gold bracelet wrapped around the limb, rubies and onyx gems dotting it. Angel gasped.
“I don't like chains,” Husk said. “So I use jewelry. It's all different, whatever the contracted soul wants. I can charm it too, so it's not visible if you don't want-”
“No,” Angel said, surprising them both. “Uh, no it's fine. I like it.” He smiled shyly. It was then he realized his hand was still in Husk's, so he pulled it back. “It's really pretty.”
“I'm glad you like it,” Husk smiled. Angel's chest squeezed and he had to look away. Watching the streets helped calm his suddenly racing heart.
Nice. Too nice. The other shoe HAD to be coming.
Right?
Notes:
Guys.....how does one flirt?! 😅😂 I'm so bad at it, I swear.

Chapter Text
Husk had brought him to a little café, which surprised Angel. Of course, it was a FANCY café, but it was still much more quaint than he'd been expecting.
They were seated quickly, Angel folding his hands in his lap and waiting. He knew better than to order something himself. Valentino had monitored what Angel ate closely, putting the spider on a diet.
“What do you want?” Husk asked. Angel frowned lightly.
“You're asking me?” he asked. He just assumed all Overlords monitored what their souls ate. He figured the fridge full of food was an idea of what he was allowed to get when he needed to start grocery shopping himself.
“Yes? Did Tino not let you even order food yourself?” Husk seemed annoyed, but Angel could tell it wasn't at him. He shrugged lightly.
“Val had me on a diet, real strict about it too,” he explained. Husk sighed.
“That explains why you're so thin,” he muttered. “You don't gotta worry about that, pick whatever you want. This goes for the future too.” He told Angel in a slightly louder voice. Angel blushed.
“Um, I'll just have some coffee….with cream and sugar,” Angel said. Val didn't let him have cream and sugar, so that was already a change for the spider. Husk nodded and ordered it, along with a pastry. “Oh, I uh-”
“It's on me,” Husk smirked, causing Angel to blush.
A few minutes later, a coffee was set in front of Angel, paired with a blueberry muffin. Angel beamed. He loved fruit.
“Thank you,” he said, peeling the wrapper from the muffin. Husk nodded, going at his own muffin. Angel hadn't even noticed he'd basically ordered the same thing as him.
When they were done, Husk led him back to the car.
“I've got a friend who can make some custom outfits for you,” he said, once they were on the road again.
“Really?” Angel lit up. Back at the Studio, Velvette had made all his clothes. And while those were top-notch, they had to fit certain standards and appease not only Velvette, but Valentino too.
“Yeah,” Husk smiled. “Then we can get you things that you like.” Angel was bouncing lightly in excitement.
“I get to choose?!” Angel's excitement grew. Husk would have looked surprised, but at this point he figured Valentino was a complete control freak.
“Yes, you get to choose, as long as it's nothing too revealing or skimpy,” Husk smirked. Angel squealed softly.
“I never got to pick what I wore to work,” he admitted. “Valentino picked everything for me.”
“Yeah, the more I learn about Tino, the more I want to tear his wings off and mount them in my office,” Husk said. Angel burst out laughing.
“Now that's something I'd like to see,” he said.
They spent the rest of the car ride either in comfortable silence or talking shit about Valentino, much to Angel's delight. He never got to talk this freely about anyone, unless he was talking to Nuggs or Cherri. Speaking of….
“Can I have friends visit?” Angel asked. Husk rose a brow.
“To the apartment building, or the casino?” he asked.
“Well, both I guess,” Angel shrugged.
“Apartment building is fine, you just gotta buzz them in. I ain't your keeper there. But the casino, just clear them with me first, okay?” Husk explained. Angel nodded.
“Sure, I can do that,” he said. That was a small requirement to have his best friend over.
“Ah, we're here,” Husk said suddenly, just as the car stopped. “Welcome to Rosie's Emporium.”
Angel stepped out of the limo with Husk and immediately wanted to get back in.
This…..
This was CANNIBAL TOWN.
“Your friend is a CANNIBAL?!” Angel asked, looking uneasy. Husk chuckled.
“Yes, but Rosie is a classy lady,” he said. “Come on.” He calmly walked up to the store, Angel sticking close to him. Not because Husker had said to follow him, per se, but because Angel was worried a cannibal that wasn't Rosie would snatch him away to make him their next meal.
“Husker!” Rosie greeted, pushing away a few customers. “What brings you by?”
“Hello, Rosie,” Husk greeted, politely dipping his head to her. “Got a new hire, he's gonna need some new clothes. The other ones he's got ain't gonna work for his new job.”
“Oh of course!” Rosie grinned, turning to Angel. “Pleasure to meet you, darling!” She held out a hand for Angel to shake.
“Uh, nice to meet you too, ma’am,” Angel said politely. He shook her hand, then stumbled slightly as she started to drag him through the store. Husk chuckled and followed behind them.
“What are we thinking? Husk got you dealing, security?” Rosie asked as she gently pushed Angel onto a podium.
“Oh, uh, I'm gonna be a dancer,” Angel said, watching Rosie flit around with fabrics and a pin cushion.
“Oo, well that's a first!” Rosie said.
“Trying something new,” Husk said, settling into a nearby chair.
“Arms out, dear,” Rosie said. Angel hesitated.
“Um, I got three sets of them, but I'd need to take my shirt off for them,” he admitted shyly.
“You have three sets?” Husk asked curiously, thinking Angel only had the two. Angel blushed a light pink, nodding.
“Hold on just a moment,” Rosie smiled, pulling a curtain closed to give them more privacy. “Alright, go ahead, dear, I'll be quick.” Angel smiled, removing his shirt.
It wasn't that he was nervous to be partially naked (even in front of Husk, though he wouldn't deny the thought of Husk checking him out had him blushing a bit). It was more the fact that all three sets of arms would be out. The only times he brought them out were when Val forced him to, or Angel pulled out his tommies.
Slowly, he revealed all six of his arms, holding them out slightly.
“I normally just have the top two sets out,” Angel said.
“I can work with that, just hold still,” Rosie assured. She professionally wrapped a measuring tape around him, jotting down the various numbers. Angel subtly flexed his lower shoulders on his third arms. They hadn't been out in awhile.
“Sore?” Husk asked. Angel startled slightly, forgetting Husk was watching.
“Oh, uh, a little. Last time I had them out, was-” Angel started, but then cut himself off. “Ah, nevermind. Not worth mentioning.” Husk frowned lightly.
“I'm guessing Tino wanted them out for something?” he decided to hazard a guess. Angel nodded. “Got it. You don't gotta elaborate if you don't want.”
“Oh, I don't mind, I just didn't think it appropriate in present company,” Angel grinned, while Rosie laughed.
“I'm a cannibal, dear, not much I haven't heard or seen!” she quipped. Angel laughed lightly.
“Good to know, but still, it ain't a pretty story,” he said. Angel's voice got a little more quiet at the end, mask slipping for a moment. He took a breath and continued like nothing was wrong. “So! Boss said I get to choose some stuff?” He tried not to sound too hopeful.
“I'll make you some standard uniforms and things for when you're not working, but let's see what I've got handy….” Rosie left them and made her way to the back. Angel pulled his extra arms in and put his shirt back on.
“She's nice,” Angel commented, sitting beside Husk. The Overlord nodded.
“Yeah, we met through a mutual friend,” Husk said, though the way he said “friend” was tight. Angel tilted his head.
“Oh yeah? What kinda mutual friend?” he asked casually. Husk shook his head.
“No one I wanna talk about right now,” he dodged Angel's question. The spider went to press for more, but Rosie then came back.
“Here you go!” she held up two dresses. “These are what I have for now, backless for your extra arms.”
FUCK these dresses were fancy.
“How….how did you know I wanted a dress?” Angel asked, star-struck. He didn't remember telling her. Rosie laughed.
“I have an eye for these things, dear,” she said. “That and I recognize you from the billboards around, Angel Dust.” The spider blushed.
“O-oh, right,” he said eloquently. Duh.
He stood and looked at the two dresses. The first was a deep red cocktail dress, with a Queen Anne neckline, wide shoulder straps and golden swirls covering the whole thing. And of course, the dress was backless. It looked like something from the 1940’s with a slight modern twist.
It reminded Angel of the era he died.
The other dress was more modern, a floor length black number, nearly skin tight with a deep v-neck.
Angel knew which one he wanted.
“I’ll take the red one, please,” he said. Rosie smiled and set the other aside.
“Perfect! I'll get this wrapped up and you'll get the other clothes in a few days,” Rosie said. She started wrapping up the dress and putting it in a light gray box with a wine red bow.
“Thanks, Rosie,” Husk said, standing. He smiled at her as Angel took the box with careful hands.
“Not a problem!” she beamed, waving them out as they left.
Angel held the box like something precious. Valentino had NEVER let him choose something this nice. Nor anything from his own time. Angel had always wanted a dress like this, having been so jealous of the gals on the street when he was alive. He laughed softly as he remembered the one time Molly had let him try on one of her dresses. It had been green.
“What's on your mind?” Husk asked.
“Hm? Oh, nothing. Just thinking about when I was alive,” Angel said, smiling softly. “One of the few good memories anyway.”
“Care to share? Ya don't have to,” Husk shrugged. Angel's smile grew.
“It's fine. I was thinking about my twin sister, Molly,” Angel said. “She and I were real close.”
“You're a twin?” Husk looked surprised.
“Yeah, we also had an older brother,” Angel shrugged. “As far as I'm aware, only my ma and Molly made it to Heaven.”
“Oh,” Husk said. He wasn't sure how else to respond. Angel smirked.
“What about you, Whiskers?” he asked. His smirk grew when Husk gave him a look at the nickname, but didn't tell him off for it.
“My life wasn't very interesting,” he said. “But I lived in Las Vegas.”
“You serious? Somehow, I'm not surprised,” Angel snickered. Husk smiled lightly.
“Yeah yeah,” he said.
They rode back to the apartment building in comfortable silence. Husk got out and opened the door for Angel. The spider blushed a light pink, holding his box close as he stepped out.
“Thanks,” he said.
“Sure. I've got to get back to the casino, but I'll have someone give you a tour tomorrow,” Husk said. “Then you'll start working at the end of the week.”
“Okay. Sounds good Hu-....um Boss,” Angel smiled. Husk sighed.
“Husk is fine,” he said. “Just don't call me that around patrons, okay?” Angel beamed.
“Sure!” he said. He felt like a kid on Christmas after the day he'd had. Husk waved goodbye as he got back in the limo, Angel walking back up to his apartment.
Oink!
Angel was greeted by Fat Nuggets, running around the common area of the building.
“Nuggs?” Angel scooped up the pig in a free arm. “How did you get out?” He made his way up to his apartment, but froze when he got near.
The door was open.
How? That….that shouldn't be possible, you had to have all the keys to get into the building first, then his door. Plus, no one besides the casino staff and Val-
….. Valentino. This had to be his doing.
Cautiously, Angel entered the apartment, setting Fat Nuggets and his box down. He summoned two of his tommy guns.
“Come out and face me, ya fucker,” Angel called into the apartment, taking a few steps inside.
The door slammed behind him.

Chapter Text
After Husk dropped Angel off, Husk began working on removing the bowling lanes from the casino, replacing it with a dance floor.
After all, his newest soul needed somewhere to perform.
“Boss!” Cutter ran up to Husk, who turned.
“What's wrong?” Husk frowned lightly. Cutter never ran up to him like this unless something was seriously wrong.
“Shortly after you got back, there was a notification that the silent alarm was tripped in the apartment building,” Cutter said. He pulled out a small tablet to show the Overlord.
“I assume you're investigating?” Husk rose a brow, looking over the building's entrance, but seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
“That's the thing…..we can't get in,” Cutter said. “I left a few guys to keep trying, but I came here to let you know.” Husk's tail flicked sharply behind him.
“Let's go see what fucker is daring to trespass.”
♥♠♦♣
The door slammed behind Angel, who jumped and swung around.
“Amorcito, I've missed you~” Valentino said, grinning. Pink cigarette smoke slowly filled the room. Angel coughed, backing up.
“The fuck do you want, Val? I ain't yours no more!” Angel grit out. Valentino laughed.
“I may have been forced to hand you over, but I really do miss you, araña~” he said, walking closer. Angel raised his guns.
“Don't take another fucking step,” Angel said. His voice was steady, but his arms trembled slightly.
He couldn't shoot.
And Val knew this.
“Baby, enough with the dramatics,” the moth chided as he continued forward. “Come work for me again. I won't even try to get your soul back.” Angel's eyes widened.
“You need me,” he realized, finally getting Valentino to pause. “Sales have plummeted already? I've only been gone a day!”
“Word unfortunately travels fast, amorcito,” Val hissed. “And I need to correct this before things get worse. So you're coming back with me!” He raised a hand to hit Angel, but by this time, there was a crash below them.
Taking the chance, Angel darted under Val's arm, scooping up Nuggs and racing from the apartment. He was glad his fight or flight kicked in.
Because he'd nearly frozen under Valentino’s wrath.
Angel raced down the stairs, knowing the elevator would be too slow and not wanting to be caught by Val again. He kept a hand on the railing to keep himself from tripping and falling, racing down the three flights.
As he burst through the door on the first floor, he nearly ran smack into Husk.
“Shit, Angel!” Husk reached out to steady the clearly panicked spider. “Are you okay?”
“V-Val….” Angel gasped out, winded from running down the stairs. Husk's eyes narrowed, not needing more.
“Cutter, look after Angel,” Husk said, gently passing the spider to the shark.
“Yes sir,” Cutter said, calmly leading Angel away from the stairs. “Come on. I brought a friend to help, he can look after Nuggets for you while you take a breather.” Angel was only half listening, following Cutter to the front lobby.
“Hi there,” a new voice said. It was another cat demon, black and white like an Oreo cookie. He wore a black and gold bowtie (something Angel was starting to notice as common-place for casino staff) and a gold vest over black slacks. The cat reached for Fat Nuggets. “Why don't I hold him while you sit and drink, yeah?” He gestured to the bar nearby, where a fruity looking drink sat.
“Um, okay…..” Angel hesitantly handed Nuggets over, who sniffed the cat and settled easily. The cat smiled.
“I'm Oliver. Or Ollie. Whatever works,” he said, sitting at the bar beside Angel.
“Angel,” the spider greeted. He was aware of Cutter sitting on his other side and keeping an eye on the door to the stairs. “You make this?” Angel motioned to the drink.
“Yes! I'm a bartender at the casino, but sometimes the boss uses me for security detail. Not often and usually just for low level stuff, but I'm working my way up,” Oliver said. Angel nodded, taking a sip of the drink. He smiled.
“Not too bad, kitten,” he winked, causing Ollie to blush and laugh.
“Thanks. I wasn't sure what you liked, but I was told it might be something sweet,” he said. “Boss’s orders.”
“Speaking of the boss, he's coming back,” Cutter cut in. Not a second after he said that, Husk pushed open the door to the stairs, wandering over to the bar where the three sinners sat. Oliver shifted Nuggets to one arm, grabbing a whiskey bottle and handing it to the Overlord.
“Thanks, Ollie,” Husk grumbled, taking a long swig. Angel, meanwhile, was staring at the blood staining the front of Husk's shirt.
“Is….did you…..is Val….?” Angel couldn't seem to form a proper sentence. Husk finally took a breath once a third of the bottle was gone.
“Tino’s still alive. Just in no shape to show his face around here for a while,” Husk explained. “Had to teach him not to trespass. This building is off limits to anyone who isn't casino staff, unless invited in by a staff member.”
“Oh,” Angel said. “He, uh….he got in through my window.”
“Got it. Cutter, let's reinforce all the windows, get better locks for them,” Husk said.
“On it,” Cutter nodded, pulling out his tablet and tapping away at it.
“You gonna be okay here tonight?” Husk asked. Angel blinked at him, before he realized Husk was speaking to him again.
“Me? Oh, I'll be fine, don't worry your pretty head about me, Whiskers,” Angel smirked. Husk frowned.
“Don't call me that,” he said. “And if you're sure, then I won't bug ya about it.”
“I'm sure,” Angel nodded. “Ain't the first time Val’s threatened me. Probably won't be the last.” He shrugged, finishing off his drink. He knew that Valentino wasn't going to give him up so easily. Especially if the Studio was already suffering. If word had gotten out that Angel was no longer there, sinners were probably refusing to pay for anything less than the famous pornstar, not to mention they'd probably start swarming the casino soon.
For better or for worse, Pride's Paradise was going to be busy.
“Well, since I've got you again, you wanna come see the new stage?” Husk asked, cutting into Angel's thoughts. The spider perked up.
“Sure!” he smiled.
“Alright, go change into your new outfit and we'll start on a rehearsal for you. I won't have you starting work until the end of the week,” Husk said. “You gotta practice first after all.” Angel nearly made a joke about how he was ALWAYS ready, but he held his tongue.
“Yes sir~” he purred, taking Nuggets back from Ollie.
“Nice to meet you, Angel!” Oliver said.
“You too, kid,” Angel nodded and made his way back up to his apartment.
Once back on his own, Angel sighed and slumped against the closed door. That had been….intense.
“Shit,” Angel muttered, sliding down to sit on the floor. Valentino had come back for him. And Angel didn't really know how to feel about that. He knew the truth about why he'd come, but….but a part of Angel hoped Valentino had come back because he truly HAD missed the spider. But that was wishful thinking.
“Ugh, enough. I don't need to think about that bastard anymore,” Angel muttered to himself. He stood back up, grabbing his new dress. He quickly stripped out of his other clothes, letting his secondary arms pop out. He pulled the dress on, slipping on his usual boots and matching opera gloves onto his lower arms. He left his black choker on to help balance the outfit more.
Fat Nuggets came up and butted his head against Angel's ankle. The spider scooped him up.
“Do think I look okay?” he asked the piglet. He smiled at the oink he got in return. “Yeah, Daddy looks great.” He set Nuggets down again, fed him, then headed out to the casino again. Angel had grabbed his keys and was delighted to find the dress had hidden pockets. All dresses should, purses could be such a pain at times.
Entering the casino, Angel's jaw dropped when he saw the brand new stage.
“Like it?” Husk asked, coming up beside Angel. He'd changed clothes too, wearing a dark red vest, gold bowtie, and black slacks. If Angel hadn't been so entranced by the stage, he would have gotten a lump in his throat from how hot Husk looked.
“How'd ya put this together so fast?” Angel asked. Husk shrugged.
“Pulled a few strings,” he said. Angel grinned.
“It's perfect,” he said. Husk gave him a small smile, looking the spider up and down.
“You look good, by the way,” he said, walking off.
He didn't see the bright blush now covering Angel's cheeks.

Chapter Text
Angel was panting slightly by the time he finished his rehearsal. It normally took a lot to get him exhausted like this, but to be fair, he was usually lying down already. Val never let him dance much anymore.
“You want a drink?” Husk asked, having stayed to watch. Angel smiled, coming over to stand beside him.
“You offering to make me one, Sugar~?” Angel flirted, unable to help himself. Husk rolled his eyes but smiled.
“Don't call me that and I might,” he said. Angel snickered.
“Got it, boss,” he said. He followed Husk over to the bar, sitting down while Husk got busy mixing a drink. The casino had closed halfway through Angel's rehearsal, so it was just staff members milling about.
“You play cards?” Husk suddenly asked, sliding over a bright green drink. Angel looked confused.
“Uh, well that depends. What kind?” he answered, taking a sip of his drink. He was delighted to find it not overly sweet, despite the loud color.
“Doesn't matter, could be blackjack, poker, anything in-between,” Husk shrugged. Angel thought about it for a moment.
“Guess I'm okay at blackjack,” he mused. “Never really liked poker.” For more than one reason.
“Even before….ya know?” Husk asked. Angel looked up at him, realizing the Overlord was watching him intently. The spider swallowed a bigger sip of his drink.
“Yeah, since I was alive,” he said. “I….uh, I was a part of the Mafia.” He blushed lightly when Husk's eyes went wide with surprise.
“Shit, really? Never would have guessed,” he said, pouring himself a whiskey. Angel scoffed, smiling bitterly.
“Yeah, who'd guess the gay twink would be part of the big bad Mafia, huh?” he bit out. He didn't tell people for this reason. Valentino knew, and he used that to his advantage sometimes. But Angel had always hated the shoots that were supposed to be themed on the Mafia. Partly because he was always cast as some airheaded bimbo, as well as hitting too close to home.
“Whoa, hey, I didn't mean it like that,” Husk raised his hands at the sudden hostility from the spider. “I just mean that that lifestyle doesn't seem like something you'd be interested in, that's all.” Angel relaxed a fraction.
“Well, ya ain't wrong I suppose,” he admitted. “Never did fit in, obviously.”
“Do you mind me asking when you died?” Husk pressed gently.
“Died in ‘47. You?” Angel asked it right back, not wanting to be the only vulnerable one.
“Around the 70’s. Don't exactly remember the year, but I was in my sixties or so,” Husk shrugged. Angel grinned.
“So we're practically the same age, I just died sooner!” he said. Husk chuckled.
“Sure kid,” he said. Angel pouted.
“Hey, I was in my thirties, so we WOULD be about the same age!” he insisted. Husk looked the spider over.
“Thirty, huh? You look younger,” he said smoothly, smirking at the way Angel's face went pink.
“Well of course I do, I put a lot of work into my appearance!” Angel ate up the compliment. Husk chuckled.
“Alright, it's getting late. Go on back to your apartment,” Husk took Angel's empty glass to wash out.
“It's only like, one in the morning!” Angel protested.
“That's getting late. Go to bed,” Husk insisted. Angel sighed.
“Alright, fine. Might as well get some extra beauty rest,” Angel smiled.
“Not like you need it,” Husk muttered. Angel once again turned a lovely pink shade, before dashing from the bar and back to his apartment.
He made sure the windows were latched and the door was locked, before getting ready for bed. He kept his mind focused on the mundane of this, to keep him from thinking too hard about that was at the bar.
Had they been flirting?
Angel had been, but…..had he been serious about it? Was HUSK?
He flopped face first into his pillow, muffling a soft groan. He hadn't seriously flirted with a guy since-
Angel abruptly stopped that train of thought. He didn't want to dwell on the memories of when he'd been young, freshly fallen and stupid.
The memories shortly before he'd signed away his soul.
Now unable to sleep, Angel decided to wander the lobby of the apartment building. He made sure he was decent in his long black pajama pants and a hot pink tank top. He adjusted the holes he'd cut into it for his second set of arms, the tank faded from how old it was now. He slipped on some matching pink fuzzy socks to hide his feet, then slipped out his door.
Stepping out from the elevator, the lobby was dark and quiet. Angel noticed a seating area with a little fireplace, deciding to lounge there. He lit the fireplace, before he sat on the surprisingly comfortable couch.
He watched the fire for a while, before feeling his eyelids droop. He shifted to lay down, cozy now in front of the fire.
♥♠♦♣
Husk stumbled his way into the apartment building at about three in the morning. He'd drank more than he probably should have, but he didn't regret it.
It helped him not to think about how he FLIRTED with Angel.
“Ugh,” he groaned, but stopped as he realized the fireplace was lit. “The hell?” He went over to put it out, before he realized there was someone curled up on the couch. His breath hitched when he realized it was Angel.
The spider was curled up in the fetal position, as if even with the fire going, he was still cold. He frowned lightly in his sleep, lips parted slightly as gentle breaths left him.
Husk swallowed a little harder than necessary, before coming to his senses. He spotted a thin, gray blanket nearby, picking it up and draping it over the sleeping spider.
Almost immediately, Angel's expression smoothed out, the spider sighing gently as he relaxed under the extra warmth. Husk blushed and sighed, sitting in an armchair nearby.
It wasn't uncommon to find the Overlord passed out down here. But it was definitely a first for him to have company. Husk smiled lightly, before deciding to get some shut eye.
♥♠♦♣
“Sir?”
Husk groaned, back killing him as he woke up. He batted half-heartedly at whoever was attempting to rouse him. A soft giggle had him opening an eye.
Nills stood on the arm of his armchair, the source of the giggle. Husk looked over to find Angel still asleep on the couch, but his long limbs were all sprawled out.
“Nills? What time is it?” Husk asked, voice gruff with sleep. He sat up from his slouched position where he'd fallen asleep.
“It's nearing eight o’clock,” Nills said quietly. “We should probably wake Angel, I doubt he wants everyone to see him all sprawled out down here.”
“Given his personality, he might not mind,” Husk grumbled. “But it's fine, we don't gotta wake him.” He stood, cracking his back lightly. Nills hopped down, the bunny looking up at his boss curiously.
Quietly, Husk moved to Angel and carefully removed the blanket. He picked the spider up gently, moving slow to avoid waking him.
“You’re gonna carry him?” Nills smiled, Husk rolling his eyes.
“He had a big day yesterday and he'll have another one today. Let him sleep,” he said. “If you don't mind, could you wake him up at about three if he isn't up already?” The bunny nodded.
“Will do!” he scampered out of the doors to head to the casino. Husk chuckled softly, then shifted Angel in his arms so he could press the button for the elevator.
“Mm,” Angel shifted in Husk's hold, causing the cat to hold his breath. He released it when the spider settled again. He stepped into the elevator when the doors opened, hitting the button for Angel's.
“Damn, he's light,” Husk muttered. The spider was thinner than he'd realized, Husk feeling Angel's ribs slightly. Angel's behavior during lunch the day before was making more and more horrifying sense. “Tino really didn't feed you…..” It made Husk's heart sink in his chest.
He stepped out of the elevator when it got to the third floor, carrying Angel down the hall. He dug out his master key (the one that he carried but only used in emergencies) and opened the door to Angel's room.
Oink!
“Huh?” Angel blinked, the oink from his piglet rousing him. Husk froze in the doorway, still holding Angel. Fat Nuggets sniffed at the Overlord's feet. “Husk?”
Husk swallowed as Angel's eyes blearily focused on him. He nudged the pig into the apartment, closing the door so he didn't run.
“Y-yeah, it's me kid,” he grumbled at his stutter. Angel blushed, realizing he was being carried.
“Why are you carrying me? Not that I'm complaining~” Angel teased. Husk rolled his eyes.
“You fell asleep on the couch in the lobby,’ he explained. “Vanilla woke me up and I carried you back here. Didn't think you'd wake up so soon though.” He set Angel down in his kitchen, sitting him on the counter. Husk didn't want to venture too far into Angel's space.
“Well thanks,” Angel crossed one leg over the other, staying in his perch on the counter. “My knight in fuzzy armor~”
“Nope,” Husk shook his head, turning before Angel could see him blush. “Get some rest. I've got Nills coming to get you at three if you aren't already up.”
“I'm good on rest, but….um, I'm kinda hungry?” Angel admitted. Husk turned back around.
“You got a kitchen?” Husk gestured around him, confused.
“I'm allowed to just….make stuff?” Angel tilted his head. Husk sighed.
“Yes, Angel. This is your space, you can do what you want. And there ain't any food restrictions I have for you. If you've got your own, that's fine, but I ain't gonna tell you what you can and can't eat, or when,” Husk said. Angel uncrossed his legs, hopping down to the ground again.
“Can…..would…..” he ran a hand through his fluffy hair. “Could I make you something?” Husk looked surprised.
“Oh, um….how about tomorrow? For lunch,” Husk said. “I've got to get started on some work and you've got a busy day later.” Angel beamed.
“Sure!” he said, excited now. Husk chuckled.
“Then it's a date,” he said, walking away. He didn't realize what he said until he left the apartment.
But Angel did.
“A…..date?”

Chapter Text
Later that day, Angel found himself at the bar on the first floor of Pride's Paradise. Oliver was there serving drinks, before deciding to take a break and chat with Angel.
“Something on your mind?” the kitten asked, handing Angel a simple strawberry daiquiri. Angel took a sip and shrugged.
“I'm….not sure. What's it like, working for Husker?” Angel asked. Oliver considered the question, tail flicking behind him.
“He's nice. Always available to listen and protects all his employees,” Ollie said.
“He ever hit anyone?” Angel asked this more hesitantly. Oliver shook his head.
“If you mean the employees, no. He's never been physically violent with anyone working in the casino,” he explained. “Handsy and rowdy patrons? Sure, if they deserve it. But I haven't seen him get any sort of violent in a long time.”
“I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, ya know?” Angel smiled lightly. “Like, I get he might not hit me, based on what you said, but…..” He gestured to himself. “I'm a pornstar, I ain't exactly just meant to be eye candy.” Ollie blushed.
“WERE a pornstar,” he reminded gently. “The boss isn't into that stuff. I've never known him to be in a relationship, not even before I started working here.”
“Not one? What about-”
“He doesn't have any one night stands, if that's what you were gonna ask next.”
Angel's mouth snapped shut. So, Husk really wouldn't whore him out? That…..that was strange. Surely the Overlord didn't just want Angel for his pretty looks. Valentino had always said that all Angel was good for was being some “mildly entertaining holes”.
“He a virgin?” Angel couldn't help but ask, pulling himself from his darker thoughts. Oliver snorted.
“I don't think so, but I wouldn't know. He's a private sort of boss,” Oliver said. Angel nodded. “Anyway, I gotta get back to work. Oh! Before I forget, you don't gotta pay for drinks since you're an employee, but that doesn't mean us bartenders will always serve you. We can and will cut you off.”
“Noted. Thanks, Ollie,” Angel grinned as the cat moved back to the other guests at the bar. He sipped his daiquiri and decided to people-watch for a bit.
He hadn't been scanning the casino long, before he spotted a tiny red figure darting under card tables and sweeping up any fallen crumbs, ashes, you name it. Angel furrowed his brow, set his empty cup on the bar, and wandered over.
“Excuse me boys, don't mind little ol’ me,” Angel grinned at the players at the table, before crouching and scooping up the red blur.
“Hey!” the blur said. Turning, she revealed herself to be a little cyclops demon, with red hair, a white poodle skirt, red top and, a golden scarf tied loosely around her neck.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Angel nodded to the baffled players, then walked away with the wriggling demoness. “Okay, sorry, but who the fuck are you?”
“I'm Niffty! I clean~” she cackled, holding up a rather large knife and causing Angel to hold her at arm's length. “And stab bugs. You look like a bug…..”
“Nope! Sinner!” Angel set her back down, but Niffty didn't scurry off again. “How come I've never seen you around before now?”
“Too busy cleaning,” Niffty answered. “You must be new.”
“Uh, yeah….I'm Angel Dust,” he said. Niffty looked him up and down.
“Nice to meet you, Miss Angel,” Niffty said.
“I'm not-”
“Angel!”
The spider turned and was greeted to the sight of Vanilla bounding towards him.
“Hey Nills, did you need something?” Angel asked the bunny.
“I don't, but you're needed on stage soon!” Vanilla informed him. Angel pulled out his phone, checked the time and cursed.
“Shit, sorry Niffty, nice ta meetcha!” he called over his shoulder as he raced to get ready for his very first performance.
“Bye, Miss Angel!” Niffty called back, already darting off to get more bugs.
♥♠♦♣
Angel was nervously standing in the wings, watching as Husk himself introduced the new stage and set some ground rules for the performance. He gestured to Cutter nearby, as well as a few other security members, before finally introducing Angel himself.
“Most of you have probably heard of him before, but please welcome Angel Dust to the stage!” Husk's voice rang out as the crowd gasped and applauded. The Overlord walked over to the wings where Angel stood. He patted the spider on the shoulder. “Break a leg…..but not literally.”
“Thanks,” Angel giggled, then walked out on stage.
♥♠♦♣
Angel panted as he held his finishing pose, waiting for the applause to let up a bit. Once it did, he bowed slightly, then made his way backstage.
“Angel, that was incredible!” Falls came up to him, holding a water bottle out. The spider took it with a smile.
“Yeah? You should see me on a pole,” he teased. Farfalla laughed.
“I'm good, but I believe you,” he said. “Why don't you go get some rest? You definitely earned it!” Now it was Angel's turn to laugh.
“I think I just might. Thanks, Falls,” he ruffled the butterfly's hair, before changing into his after-work clothes. It was just a gray hoodie and black skirt, with his usual black boots.
He waved to Cutter as he passed, the shark giving the spider a small nod as the latter left the casino. Cutter was still on duty for another hour or so, so Angel didn't ask if he wanted to walk with him.
He probably should have asked.
He was just reaching the apartment building, when a hand grabbed him from the shadows, pulling him into the alleyway.
“What the fuck?! Let go!” Angel struggled, pulling on the grip, but to no avail. Suddenly, a thick, pink smoke filled the alleyway. Angel's eyes widened and he held his breath.
“Aren't you happy to see me, mi amorcito?” Valentino’s poisoned honey voice spoke in Angel's ear. The spider had frozen. “That was quite the performance you put on tonight, baby. Too bad the audience couldn't see your true talents, hm?”
“Fuck off,” Angel managed. He was trembling lightly, rooted to the spot.
“I told you yesterday, Angelcakes, I need to correct this little sales issue. So are we doing his the easy way? Or the hard way~?” Valentino said. Angel could hear how much Val wanted him to fight back. And while he didn't want to play Val's game, he also wasn't about to go back to the Studio without a fight.
“And I told you to fuck off,” Angel snapped. Valentino sighed.
“Hard way it is~” he said, before plunging a syringe into the side of Angel's neck. The spider yelped, trying to pull away, only to go limp.
“W-what…..what the….” Angel's words were starting to slur, his vision going hazy and body growing uncomfortably hot.
“Just a little experimental drug, araña, don't worry,” Valentino scooped Angel up bridal style. “Daddy is gonna take VERY good care of you~”
That was the last thing Angel heard before he completely blacked out in Valentino's arms.
Notes:
Surprise!
You probably think this is moving fast for Val, but I promise it's intentional. Can't have the WHOLE story be fluff, now can I~?
Chapter 7: Tie Me Up, Turn Down the Lights

Chapter Text
Husk was in his office when Cutter burst in. It was around midnight now, not super late, but late enough. Husk rose a brow.
“What-?”
“Angel is missing, sir,” Cutter interrupted. He looked more shaken than usual, not even in uniform, but wearing a white tee and jeans. Husk stood with a growl.
“When?” his voice was just edging on “not calm.”
“I discovered this about twenty minutes ago. I searched the apartment building, I'm having security sweep the casino, but there's no sign of him,” Cutter reported. “I sent Vanilla and Farfalla to look after his pig and wait to see if he'd come back.”
“Good. I'll help sweep the casino. And if we find him tonight, take tomorrow off,” Husk briskly walked out of his office, Cutter following behind.
But two hours later, there was no sign of the spider.
“Has anyone checked the cameras?” Husk asked, helping his staff close up for the night.
“I'll get on that now,” Cutter said.
“No, you go back and check on Nills and Falls. They aren't exactly security guards and if anything happened to them….” Husk trailed off as Cutter nodded.
“Understood,” he said. The shark left and Husk made his way to the security office. He quickly busied himself with scouring the tapes, searching the casino first. However when he saw Angel leave the building shortly after his performance, Husk quickly switched to the apartment building cameras.
“Where are you?” Husk muttered to himself. Suddenly, he saw Angel get pulled into the alleyway next to the building. Husk tried to see in there, and cursed when he realized they had a blind spot. He watched the tapes speed through about two more hours, but…..Angel never came back out. “Fuck!” Husk stood and stormed out of the office, making his way to the alley.
When he got there, he was pissed and disappointed to see not a single clue to Angel's whereabouts. Husk growled and slashed his claws along the brick of the building. It didn't do much damage, but it made him feel a little better. Sighing, he forced himself to go up to the penthouse. Getting angry wasn't going to do him much good and he needed a drink. A strong one.
It was nearly three in the morning, so Husk tried to be quiet while walking through the lobby area. He glanced over the room, in case Angel happens to come back while he'd been outside, but the spider wasn't there. Husk's ears flattened in worry, taking the stairs. A long climb? Yes, but Husk used the opportunity to calm himself down a little.
Upon getting to the penthouse, Husk was slightly winded and definitely tired now. But also calm. He pulled his bowtie off, letting it hang loosely around his neck, as he made a beeline for his bar. He grabbed a bottle of nice whiskey, guzzling down the burning liquid until nearly a third of the bottle was gone. He gasped as he came up for air, wiping the back of his mouth on his paw. He took a few breaths as the alcohol settled, then stumbled his way over to bed. He wasn't drunk, far from it, but he was exhausted now from worry.
Another swig and Husk set the bottle on his nightstand, before collapsing face first into his bed.
Tomorrow. He'd find Angel tomorrow. He wasn't going to stop until he did.

Angel groaned as he woke, still uncomfortably hot and now his limbs itched slightly. Fucking brilliant, just what he wanted to wake up to.
“Ugh….” he groaned louder, forcing his eyes to open.
“Ah, buenos dias, mi araña,” Valentino's poisoned honey voice poured into Angel's ears. The spider winced, attempting to turn his head away from the sound. He took in his surroundings, or what he could see of them anyway. He was lying on his back, a hard and cold metal table beneath him.
Oh, and he now noticed he was completely bare. Of course, that wasn't new around Val.
On top of this, Angel seemed to be strapped down with some thick leather cuffs. Valentino seemed to have coaxed out Angel's extra arms, so all six were pinned, along with his legs, waist, chest and his head, which is why he hadn't been able to turn away.
“V-Val, what the fuck??” Angel's fear grew with each new detail he discovered. Val chuckled.
“I'm not exactly happy that gatito stole you away from me. And I can't waste time trying to gamble you back. So,” Val said, lighting one of his damn cigarettes. “I'm keeping you out of the spotlight for a bit. Oh but don't worry. We'll be recording lots of little videos to send out~!”
“No!” Angel struggled, but he discovered that the itchiness and heat only increased when he did. He moaned in frustration.
“Damn, this drug is strong!” Val cackled. “It's a new form of Love Potion, lasts longer and is apparently stronger~” Angel's eyes widened at that.
“No, Val, let me go! I ain't yours!” he cried, hips trying to seek friction as he got hotter and hotter. It felt like he was going to burn up.
“Oh I don't think so, amorcito,” Val said, placing a hand on Angel's stomach. The spider moaned at the coolness from it, craving more.
“Please…..”Angel cried. Valentino just grinned.
“This is only the beginning~”

Chapter 8: Three Days
Summary:
Husk looks for Angel, and Angel.....he's not having a good time.
Chapter Text
Three days.
It had been three days since Angel's kidnapping. Husk knew it had to be a kidnapping, since the spider hadn't walked into that alleyway willingly…..and he hadn't returned.
He tasked Vanilla and Farfalla with looking after Fat Nuggets, while he and Cutter scoured the nearby territories.
It was on day three, while Husk and Cutter were out searching, that the shark voiced his opinion.
“Boss, maybe we should consider….you know, THEM,” he stated hesitantly. Husk rose a brow.
“You better not be suggesting who I think you're suggesting,” he said. Cutter swallowed.
“They have more territory and better resources,” he argued. “And you have business dealings with the Radio Demon already, you know his business partner will be a valuable asset.”
“We don't need their help. At least…..not until we know who took Angel, okay?” Husk sighed, compromising. Cutter nodded.
“Understood.”
The two walked in comfortable silence, when all of a sudden, a gaudy pink limousine pulled up to the curb beside them. The window rolled down in the back.
“Excuse me, you the Gambling Overlord?” a small, doll-like demoness asked.
“Depends on who's asking,” Husk growled. The demoness grinned, then held out a laptop and dropped it into his paws.
“I was told to give this to you!” she said it cheerfully, before the limo sped off again. Husk growled.
“Cutter, let's go up to the penthouse,” he said. The shark nodded and followed his boss back to the apartment building, silent as they made their way up to Husker's penthouse.
It wasn't over the top, in fact it reminded Cutter of the Overlord's office at Pride's Paradise. It was cozy, but intimidating. It was mostly black and dark red, gold embellishments scattered here and there. Cutter followed Husk to his in-home office, which was smaller and simpler than his casino one.
Husk plugged in the laptop, starting it up.
He really wished he hadn't.
“Hola, gatito~” Valentino purred from the screen. Husk growled, before he realized this was a recording. “Three days, that's quite a long time to be looking for mi araña. But I figured it was time to let you see a preview of Angel's newest work~”
“Fucker!” Husk seethed as the video cut to Angel, strapped down on a table. The poor spider was writhing in his bonds, crying and begging to be released…..
No.
Not to be released.
To RELEASE.
Husk watched in horror as Angel's eyes opened, glassy and far away, blown wide in lust. Angel was clearly under the influence of some drug, seeking out any sort of relief.
Husk slammed the laptop closed, nearly breaking it.
“Boss?” Cutter asked meekly, also horrified by the little he'd seen.
“I don't want to know what else that fucker has done to Angel,” Husk said, breathing heavily through his nose. “I'm going to watch the rest of this. You go get….THEM. I'm sure Alastor would love a go at Vox.”
“Right,” Cutter nodded and left, while Husk took a breath and reopened the laptop.
♥♠♦♣
Angel whimpered, shivering where he was curled up in the corner.
Or, as curled up as he could be in this box.
Val had had him tied to that table for HOURS, before finally letting Angel find release and unstrapping them. Then came the usually fucking, though Angel was never satisfied. He'd lost count of how many times he'd come, blacking out at some point. When he'd come to, he found himself tied down again to that damn table while Val amused himself with teasing Angel into double Hell. And the cycle repeated.
But Valentino had gotten bored of the cycle and shoved Angel nude into this cold, glass box that was only tall enough for him to stand. He could even extend his arms out to the side, it was that small. And Angel knew he was in display, shivering terribly. His face was a pretty pink, not usually embarrassed about his body, but he'd been in this damn box for over two hours now.
“You know,” Val said, coming to stand right in front of Angel. “You make a very pretty doll. But this doll is missing something, I think~” He suddenly opened the box, causing Angel to fall forward into his arms. The spider gasped, and despite his hatred for the moth, he was WARM. Angel shamelessly snuggled in.
“P-please don't m-make m-me go b-back I-I'm there,” Angel pleaded through chattering teeth.
“If you're a good boy, I'll consider it,” Valentino cooed mockingly. He guided Angel into a warmer room, keeping the spider tucked under his arm. He made the poor boy walk on his trembling legs. “Let's warm you up, mi araña.” He forced Angel to stand on a little platform.
“V-Val?” Angel asked, reaching for the moth when he pulled away. He wrapped his arms around him, watching as Valentino stepped back and suddenly Velvette stepped forward.
“Hello, doll. Just stand still for me with your arms out, okay?” she smiled at Angel, who looked hesitant. He glanced at Valentino, who just grinned widely. Angel slowly nodded and held out his arms, shivering a little less.
“W-what’s going on?” he asked, Velvette beginning to measure every inch of him.
“Val decided you needed new clothes and of course I'm the professional there,” Velvette beamed, wrapping her tape measure around Angel's hips and thighs. He squirmed lightly, but held himself still at a warning glare from the youngest Vee.
“You'll be the doll I know you are. I wasted your potential as a mere whore,” Valentino said. “So we're going in a new direction.”
“What do you me-” Angel started, but was cut off as Velvette repositioned him to stand as straight as he could. “Ow!”
“Shush,” she said. “Alright, almost done. You can put your arms down now.” Angel did as she asked, watching her come around to his front again. “Lean down.” Angel gave her a puzzled look, but complied. Velvette then began measuring various parts of his face, and when he tried to pull back, Val's pink smoke stopped him.
“What's going on?!” Angel demanded, the cold finally having worn off enough for him to speak normally. He saw Valentino wave Velvette away.
“Baby, it's alright. Vel? Why don't you go grab the new outfit you made yesterday?” Val suggested. The demoness grinned and headed to the other room, while Valentino took Angel into his arms again. Angel weakly pushed him away, but it was no use.
“Val, please….” Angel whispered it, not meeting Valentino's eyes. But before the moth could respond, Velvette came back with a large, many layered, poofy ball gown. Angel's eyes widened. “Uh….what's that?”
“It's a ball gown,” Val stated the obvious. “And you're going to wear it.” Angel made a face. He liked dresses, sure. But this thing….it was pale yellow and so poofy, it looked like a creampuff. It had a sweetheart neckline and equally poofy sleeves.
“Why?” Angel asked, stepping away from the dress. He knew it was well made, Velvette had clearly made it. But Angel couldn't help but think of it as a monstrosity.
“Because I said so, and because you're going to be my precious little doll to show off~” Valentino said. He could see Angel's reluctance to wear it, so he snapped his fingers and suddenly Angel was wearing the dress. His second and third pairs of arms were forced to conceal themselves to avoid getting crushed in the fabric. Angel whined.
“Val, please, I-” he was cut off as Valentino pulled the spider against him and into a bruising kiss.
“Dolls don't speak. At least, this doll can't. Now, let's go show you off, hm?” Valentino purred. Angel whined again, trying to pull back, but it was no use. He hung his head in resignation.
He should have known better. He'd been back with Valentino for….he didn't even know how long, and he was reminded how he could never leave.
No one was coming to save him.
♥♠♦♣
Husk had broken his desk. He may or may not have thrown it against the wall. He stormed out of his office and made his way to the apartment lobby to wait for Cutter's return.
He had just poured himself a whiskey, when the shadows nearby spat out Cutter, and two other sinners. Husk narrowed his eyes.
“Alastor, would it kill you to be more gentle with my employees?” Husk asked. The Radio Demon's ever present grin widened.
“Now now, he isn't hurt! Not my fault he wasn't prepared to travel through the shadows,” he chuckled. Husk rolled his eyes, turning to the sinner beside him.
“And I assume this is the business partner I've heard so much about?” he asked.
“My name is Ayumu,” the sinner said. She was a light pink fox demon, wearing a traditional white, red and black kimono. Husk spotted nine fluffy tails behind her, the tips a blood red. Her ears matched her tail, pink and fading into blood red at the tips. Her yellow and red eyes bore into Husk. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Husk-san. Alastor-sama has told me much about you.” Husk's eyes widened slightly at the honorifics.
“Nihongo de kaiwa shitaidesu ka? Kore ga kantandeareba mondai arimasen,” Husk said, delighting in how Alastor's eyes narrowed slightly, while Ayumu beamed.
“Sore wa totemo shinsetsudesuga, sono hitsuyō wa arimasen. Sore ni, Arasutōru wa shitto shite iru yōda,” she chuckled. “Your friend, Cutter-san, has told us about your predicament.”
“Yeah, Valentino stole one of my employees. Because he's a sore loser,” Husk sighed. “He's got Vox and Velvette backing him.”
“My good man, I'm more than happy to give Vox what he deserves,” Alastor said. “But what is in it for us?” Husk grinned.
“Let's discuss.”
Notes:
Thank you to my friend Q for letting me use her OC Ayumu! Don't worry, she's got QUITE the backstory we'll be exploring later. 🤭
Also, Husk can canonically speak Japanese (amongst other languages) so when he meets Ayumu, he's asking if she'd prefer to speak in her mother tongue, and her reply is that Alastor is looking jealous. 😂
Chapter Text
Angel hated this. So much.
Valentino was forcing him to walk around Pentagram City in this stupid dress. He had a smile plastered on his face, because Valentino had threatened to take him then and there in the middle of the street if he didn't cooperate and look like the perfect doll he was supposed to be.
Angel was more scared of Val than he was embarrassed, so he'd complied. But he didn't see the point of just walking him around. Val had barely said two words to the spider either. But, Val wasn't hitting him or hurting him physically at all. In fact, they had stopped into a few stores and the moth had gotten Angel a pearl necklace, a yellow hairpiece to match his dress, and finally yellow, heeled shoes.
“You look gorgeous, mi amorcito,” Valentino cooed. Angel didn't respond, because apparently dolls were to be seen and not heard. Angel had to force himself not to frown when Valentino suddenly pulled Angel against his side. “You know, you're looking a little thirsty.”
Angel looked at Valentino in confusion, before the moth held up a bottle of what looked like Love Potion…..except blue. Angel tried to pull away, but Val's grip tightened on his waist. Angel opened his mouth to tell at Val, to tell the moth he'd had enough of this, when the moth uncorked the bottle with his teeth and poured the contents down Angel's throat.
“Mph!” Angel gagged and tried hard not to swallow, but Val clamped a hand over Angel's nose. Squeezing his eyes shut, Angel reluctantly swallowed the foul tasting drug, Val only letting him breathe once the bottle was empty.
“There you go~” Valentino purred.
“What the fuck?!” Angel shoved himself away, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. Val didn't chase him….in fact, he didn't look bothered at all.
“Unfortunately, since I still don't have your contract, I can't keep you,” he said, tapping away at his phone. He held it up for a moment and Angel knew jed taken a picture.
“The FUCK are you talking-” Angel tried to get more answers, but suddenly his knees buckled. Val caught him before he hit the ground, but Angel's whole body went limp, even his jaw.
“Took a little longer than I thought, but why don't you sit here and wait for your new owner to collect you, hm? And remember, Angel, act like the pretty doll you are, or Daddy will be VERY upset,” Valentino chuckled darkly, stroking Angel's cheek. “I'll see you soon, baby.”
And then he walked off, leaving Angel on the curb.
Angel trembled, realizing he could not move. He was stuck where Val had sat him, his limbs locked in place. The fuck was that drug?! And how the hell would Val know if he didn't act like a damn doll?? And who was this “new owner”??
He started to hyperventilate, eyes darting around. There were cameras, he noticed, on a few of the buildings. All of them pointed at him.
He put on a shaky smile, knowing it was Vox watching him. And Vox would report directly to Val. THAT was how the moth would watch him.
Angel felt tears fall from his eyes, as he waited for whatever torture was to come. No one was coming to save him.
♥♠♦♣
Husk's phone went off in the middle of his meeting with Ayumu and Alastor.
“Sorry, hold on,” he apologized, pulling his phone from his pocket. He growled at seeing the name. “Actually, this might help us.” Set set the phone down on the table and opened the message from Valentino.
It was a picture of Angel, wearing a ridiculously poofy yellow ball gown, some sort of blue liquid smeared at the corner or his mouth. He looked…..well, mostly unharmed, but pissed for sure.
“That is near Cannibal Town,” Alastor said, peering at the picture.
“Yeah, Tino's message says I'm to collect him….” Husk frowned. It couldn't be that easy, right?
“We shall stick to the plan,” Ayumu said, three of her tails flicking behind her. “You will collect Angel Dust, while Alastor and myself distracted the wretched Vee's.”
“I will take out Vox,” Alastor said. “As he's most likely hidden away in his little ‘studio’. He has cameras all over the city.”
“Sounds good. And I promise you both, you'll get your payment when I have Angel back at Pride's Paradise,” Husk said.
“We shall hold you to that,” Ayumu said, grinning and showing off her delicate fangs. Alastor then vanished with Ayumu to the shadows, while Husk left the meeting room they'd been in up in his penthouse.
“Cutter!” he shouted down the hall. The shark came running up to him. “We're headed to Cannibal Town.”
“Cannibal Town? Why? Wait, is….is that-”
“Yeah….and we need to hurry.”
♥♠♦♣
Angel flexed his jaw, sighing. It had been about two hours since Val left him on the street, and the drug had FINALLY worn off his jaw. The rest of him though? Still immobile.
Suddenly, a black limo pulled up along the street where Angel sat. The spider tensed in apprehension. This had to be the “owner” Valentino told him about before. Angel whimpered softly, scared of what was to come.
“Angel!”
Wait that…..that was Husk's voice…..
“H-Husk?” Angel opened his eyes (when had he closed them?) to see the Overlord running towards him. Angel started to cry again, but out of relief this time.
“Fuck, are you okay?” Husk asked. “Cutter, make sure those cameras are out!”
“I-I….I can't move,” Angel admitted. Husk nodded and gently went to lift Angel. But he paused before he touched him.
“You okay to be touched?” Husk asked quietly. At Angel's noise of confirmation, Husk gently pulled him into his arms. He could feel how rigid the other was, but it didn't seem like a conscious decision on Angel's part. Husk quickly got the spider into the limo. “I brought a change of clothes for you….you can't move at all?”
“No….Val gave me a drug,” Angel explained. “Been like this for about two hours and it only just wore off my jaw.”
“Shit….okay, can I help you change?” Husk asked. He heard Cutter get into the driver's seat and the limo sped off.
“Boss,” Cutter called back, having put the partition up to give Angel privacy. “Alastor took care of the cameras, they all shorted out before I could even touch them.”
“Good,” Husk called back.
“Um….yeah, you can help me change,” Angel said. “Just….just try not to stare?” His voice became small at the request. Husk's ears flattened.
“Okay,” he agreed. He quickly got to work, pulling a soft, lavender sweater over Angel, before unzipping the dress. He worked it off of Angel's arms and pooled it at his hips, tugging the sweater down to keep him covered. Next, he helped Angel pull on a pair of black leggings, before finally getting the atrocious dress off.
“Thank fuck that's off,” Angel sighed, looking more relaxed to be in more comfortable clothes. Husk smiled.
“That thing was pretty hideous,” he chuckled. Angel cracked a smile, but then winced.
“Ugh, I can't let out my other arms because of the drug, but they're starting to cramp….” he whined softly. Husk's face fell.
“Sorry…..can't help with that right now,” he said. Angel smiled.
“It's fine, but I'll need to take it easy on them for at least a day,” he said.
“Are you hurt anywhere else?” Husk asked. Angel went to answer with a joke, trying to deflect, but seeing Husk's worried expression, he decided to answer honestly. He took a moment to assess himself.
“I haven't eaten anything in three days, only had a little water here and there,” he confessed. “Probably have some bruises along my hips, wrists and shoulders….. probably my thighs too.”
“Okay. Tino, he….he sent me videos of you. Just this morning,” Husk admitted. “I still had no idea where you were until he texted me a picture of you in that dress.”
“Fuck, I'm so sorry,” Angel started crying again. “You didn't need to see that, I-”
“Hey, it's okay,” Husk whispered, slowly reaching over to wipe away Angel's tears. “This isn't your fault. You've been very brave.”
“H-Husk….” Angel sniffled, blushing gently.
“Any idea how long until you can move?” Husk asked, still stroking Angel's cheek.
“No….” he sighed, wanting to lean into Husk's touch, but not able to. “But other than my extra arms being sore, I'm not in pain.”
“That's good,” Husk smiled.
“Boss,” Cutter stopped the limo, tapping on the partition. Husk lowered it and Cutter glanced in the rear view mirror. “We're back at Pride's Paradise.”
“Thanks. Angel, we're gonna go up to my office, okay? I have some….friends, I'd like you to meet,” Husk said. “Can I carry you again?”
“Sure thing,” Angel smiled as Husk immediately got out, then pulled the still spider into his arms once more. “A gal could get used to this~”
“Hush,” Husk smiled softly, while Angel snickered. But suddenly, his eyes widened and his smile became more strained. Husk frowned. “You okay?”
“No….” Angel muttered it through gritted teeth, still forcing a smile. Husk followed Angel's gaze and spotted a camera across the street from them. One of Vox's.
“Cutter, see if you can get a hold of Alastor, please,” Husk told the shark. Cutter nodded.
“Will do,” he drove off before Husk or Angel could say another word. Although, Angel seemed to have fallen silent. Husk quickly brought the spider inside, easily carrying him up the stairs and to the elevator.
“You can relax now. None of Vox's cameras in here,” he said softly. Angel let the smile fall from his face.
“Thanks….I'll explain when we get up ta yer office,” Angel muttered. Husk took a small gamble and nuzzled against Angel, which earned him a soft smile.
The ride up to Husker's office was silent, but comfortable instead of tense. Husk stepped out of the elevator when it reached the top floor, using his tail and wings to get the door open and shut behind him.
“Ah, there you are!” Alastor beamed. “Cutter told me of the camera problem, and not to worry! I've taken care of them.”
“Thanks, Al,” Husk said. “Oh, uh, Angel this is Alastor. The Radio Demon. Alastor, this is-”
“I'm quite aware of who he is, Husker,” Alastor's eyes narrowed a fraction. “ Pleasure to be meeting you, quite a pleasure!”
“Um, you too. I'd shake ya hand or something, but I'm a bit paralyzed at the moment,” Angel said awkwardly.
“No need, I do hate being touched,” Alastor waved the spider off.
“Where's Ayumu?” Husk asked.
“Oh, she'll be along shortly, she got a bit sidetracked by some egg demons,” Alastor said. Husk raised a brow, but didn't ask the other Overlord to elaborate. He set Angel down on the couch nearby.
“Who's Ayumu?” Angel asked.
“She's an Overlord like Al and I,” Husk explained. “Much older than us though, probably older than Zestial, but it's hard to say.”
“She and I agreed to help Husker in rescuing you and sending those detestable Vee's a message,” Alastor piped in, grin becoming sharp. Angel swallowed.
“You made a deal for me?” Angel asked Husk. Husk smiled.
“It was worth it, don't you worry about that,” he soothed. He didn't need to add any more stress to Angel's plate. Poor kid had had enough of that and more from Valentino.
“But-” Angel started to speak again, but the doors suddenly opened and Ayumu stepped in. In her arms was a little egg demon wearing a little black and yellow striped suit.
“Husker-san!” she beamed. “I found an egg!” Husk chuckled.
“I can see that, Ayumu-sama,” he said. “This is Angel. Angel, this is Ayumu.” Husk motioned between the two.
“Kon'nichiwa, Angeru-san. Aete ureshīdesu!” Ayumu bowed her head in greeting. Angel blushed.
“Um, I'm sorry, I don't understand…..” he would have returned the gesture, but….still paralyzed.
“Kare wa mahi shite irunode, Ayumu-sama ni keii o motte aisatsu dekinakatta no o yurushitekudasai,” Husk said. Angel's blush increased. Husk spoke Japanese?!
“Ā, shinpaishinaidekudasai, Hasukā-san! Watashi wa ki ni shimasen. Soshite kare wa kawaīdesu!” Ayumu giggled. Husk turned to Angel.
“She said it's nice to meet you and she thinks you're cute,” he summarized. Angel giggled.
“Cute, huh? I'm used to being called hot or sexy, but I'll take cute,” he said.
“As lovely as this is, might we get on with your end of the deal, my good man?” Alastor interjected.
“Yeah yeah, no need to throw a hissy fit,” Husk waved the Radio Demon off. “I'll get you what you want tomorrow, okay? I gotta keep an eye on Angel tonight.”
“Of course, Husker-san!” Ayumu squeezed her egg, who let out a muffled squeak. “We shall return tomorrow!”
“Of course,” Husk bowed respectfully to her, flipping off Alastor when the deer demon wandered too close for comfort.
And then there were two.
“Well, they seemed nice,” Angel smirked. Husk sat beside him.
“Ayumu is, but Alastor is an asshole. Most of the time,” Husk said.
“You speak Japanese?” Angel asked, changing the topic. Husk chuckled.
“Lo faccio, così come l'italiano. И русский тоже. Dann gibt es noch Deutsch. Jiā shàng pǔtōnghuà. Y por último, español,” Husk fluently and gracefully flipped between Italian, Russian, German, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. Angel's eyes went wide.
“I have no idea what most of what you said meant, but holy shit!!” Angel exclaimed. “That was fucking hot~”
“Really?” Husk laughed, face warming under the praise. “You speak any other languages.” Angel smiled shyly.
“Sì, parlo italiano. La mia famiglia era mafiosa, ricordi?” Angel said. Husk nodded.
“I remember. But just because you were in the Mafia doesn't mean you know Italian, right?” Husk smirked and Angel stuck out his tongue.
“Yeah yeah, I know,” Angel said, smiling. “But it was definitely a big part of it.”
“Sure kid. You wanna lie down and get some sleep?” Husk asked. Angel hummed.
“You'll stay with me?” he asked. It almost sounded like a plea.
“Of course,” Husk nodded and helped Angel lay across the couch, his head in Husk's lap. The Overlord pet through Angel's fluffy locks, watching the spider immediately relax and close his eyes.
“Thanks, Whiskers,” he muttered.
“Anytime.”
Notes:
No, you don't get to know what Husk's deal with Alastor and Ayumu is yet. And yes, Ayumu has kidnapped one of the egg bois. 😂
Don't worry, the Vee's are still around just.....much more worse for wear than when Husk drove Val from the apartment the last time. 😅
And of COURSE I'm abusing the fact Husk FLUENTLY speaks all those languages. 😂💜

“Radio FUCKER!”
Vox was currently attempting to get his systems up and running once more. He'd succeeded in getting the cameras near Cannibal Town back up, but the ones near that blasted casino?
No dice.
“Voxxy?” Valentino leaned over Vox's chair, cigarette in hand and looking bored. “How much longer is this going to take?” Vox glared up at him from his spot on the floor under his desk, where he was reconnecting wires.
“Alastor fucked with my systems, so it's gonna be a bit before we get anything from Husker's little casino,” he bit out, glitching lightly. Valentino pouted.
“Well how am I supposed to keep an eye on my whore?” the moth lamented. Vox sighed.
“First of all, Val, YOU LOST Angel,” he pulled out from under his desk, raising his leg to rest his arm on his knee as he sat on the floor. “And secondly, the fuck kinda game are you playing at with him?”
“I'm showing Angel that he's mine,” Val said. “I'm going to get him to eventually leave his current contract and sign a new one with me. A more airtight one.” He looked pleased with himself.
“By forcing him to be a doll?” Vox rose a brow. “I'm not following.”
“Ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome, Voxxy?” Valentino blew out some thick, pink smoke from his cigarette. “I tortured him, then I dressed him up and treated him right for a bit. It's a game, a delicate balance. I just need to push the right buttons and Angel will come CRAWLING back to me~” Vox rolled his eyes.
“Sure, Val, whatever you say,” he said, standing. “In the meantime, I'll see if I can set up new cameras around the casino. Do NOT go there yourself.” Vox tapped the scar hidden under Val's glasses, right between his eyes. The moth has gained that when he broke into Angel's new apartment and Husker left them with a clear message. One Valentino was clearly ignoring.
“Ugh, fine amor, I'll stay put,” Val pouted, but Vox grinned.
“Good. I'll be back later,” he said. “And do NOT touch my equipment if you want me to get you footage of Angel, okay?” At Valentino's nod, Vox left the Studio.
He made his way out onto the streets of the Pentagram City, eyes glued to his phone. He figured he'd work while he walked, checking on Velvette’s latest social posts, how Valentino's movies were doing, and digging for any gossip he could exploit. He'd also need to come up with some new tech Alastor could destroy.
Alastor.
That old-timey radio bastard.
Vox sighed and put his phone away, trying not to work himself up again. Blowing a fuse now wouldn't do him any good. But patience had never exactly been his strong suit. In fact, none of the Vee's were very patient, but that was beside the point.
Alastor just hit all the buttons that made Vox see error codes and blue screens of death.
He shoved his hands into his pockets and made his way to Pride's Paradise, staying across the street. Until he figured out a new design to ward off the Radio Demon, Vox settled for some smaller, more discreet cameras.
Once he was done placing them, he made his way back to the Studio. Time to deal with the “piss-baby”.

“Oh, yeah, yes~!”
Husk rolled his eyes.
“I genuinely can't tell if you're doing this purposely just to annoy me, or if you don't know how else to express gratitude,” he smirked. Angel was lying over Husk's lap, all six arms out as the Overlord massaged them to relieve the soreness of being hidden for so long.
“Probably the latter?” Angel admitted sheepishly. “But damn your hands are MAGIC, kitty~”
“Don't call me that, or I'll stop,” Husk threatened, stopping.
“No, fuck that! I'm sorry!” Angel panicked and Husk chuckled and resumed his little massage.
“I'm glad you're able to move again,” Husk said.
“Me too. Longest SEVEN HOURS of my afterlife, I swear,” Angel sighed. He turned slightly to look up at Husk. “I'm sorry if I made you worry.”
“It's alright, not your fault,” Husk said. “It's Tino's.” He slowed his massage as an idea came to him. “Hey, you wanna help me with a few errands today? You can say no, but with me beside you, no one will touch you.”
“Oh, um,” Angel blushed. “Depends on what you're doing, I guess?”
“Well, I gotta pick up a few things for Alastor and Ayumu. Mostly Alastor, Ayumu was more than willing to help for almost free when she'd heard Valentino took you,” Husk said. “She just wants to spend a day with you sometime. I'll let you set that up.”
“Sure,” Angel nodded. “And….what does Alastor want?”
“Well….it's definitely less savory,” Husk looked a tad nervous. “He wants me to bring him some new souls. Not in the way you're probably thinking.” Husk was quick to clarify, seeing Angel's face immediately crumple. “There's been some idiots trying to claim his territory as their own. Normally, he has no issue taking care of them himself, but these fuckers have been planting angelic steel-laced bombs around. And they're well hidden.”
“So he really wants you to disable the bombs?” Angel asked.
“And get rid of the fuckers hiding them, yeah,” Husk nodded. Angel seemed to relax.
“Sure, I'll help,” he smiled. Husk beamed.
“Great. Then let's head to the Radio Tower.”

Apologies for the short chapter, but I wanted to get this part out of the way to move on to the next stuff~
Chapter 11: Bomb's Away
Summary:
Husk and Angel go help Alastor with his little problem.
Chapter Text
Husk and Angel made their way to the Radio Tower, which was located on the other side of Cannibal Town.
“Remember, you stay close to me unless I tell you otherwise,” Husk reminded Angel gently. Angel smiled and nodded.
“I remember, don't worry. I can handle myself,” Angel winked at the Overlord, causing him to chuckle.
“I'm sure you can, but I ain't taking chances,” Husk said. “When we're done here, go ahead and invite that friend of yours over that you were telling me about.”
“You mean it?” Angel lit up at that. Husk nodded.
“Sure,” he said. He watched as Angel whipped out his phone and eagerly started texting his friend. “What was her name again?”
“Cherri Bomb,” Angel said, not looking up. “She taught me a lot about bombs, but I ain't anywhere near her level of knowledge.”
“Really? Well, next time we have a bomb problem, invite her to join,” Husk looked pleased, tail tip flicking lightly. Angel nodded, finally putting his phone away.
“Will do, sugar~” Angel grinned.
“Don't,” Husk said, but he smirked lightly.
Soon, the two arrived at the Radio Tower. Husk got out first, ears twitching as he listened for anyone nearby.
“Alright, all clear,” he said, offering a hand to Angel to help the spider from the car.
“Thanks, Whiskers,” Angel grinned. He followed Husk to the tower, gazing up at it. It wasn't much, just a standard red-brick building, the roof of which was covered in radio antennas. Still, Angel stuck close to Husk as instructed.
“Ah, welcome!” Alastor opened the door and stood aside to let the others in. “Please come in, I'd like to discuss these hooligans before you go out searching.”
“Sure, Al,” Husk said. He took one of Angel's hands as they stepped inside.
“Wow, it's….dark in here,” Angel muttered.
“Mm, yes, I do like to keep the atmosphere quite…..daunting,” Alastor's never faded, but his eyes narrowed slightly. Angel gulped softly. He followed Alastor and Husk into a little office, Angel trying very hard not to stare at the stains on the floor…..the ones strongly suggesting they were blood.
“So,” Husk broke the silence. “What do these punks look like?”
“Oh that doesn't matter,” Alastor waved Husk off. “I want you to deal with the bombs. I'll take care of the vermin. I've been running low on snacks~” Alastor chuckled darkly.
“What do the bombs look like then?” Angel piped up, needing to change the subject.
“From the one I've seen, they're small and silver. Made with angelic steel,” Alastor described. “Well hidden at that. I need you and Husker to do a sweep of the area. Once it's clear, I will open a void to throw them in and I'll take care of the imbeciles. Simple!”
“Uh, sure…..simple,” Angel was a bit hesitant to be around angelic steel, but he DID say he'd help.
“Right, Angel, let's go,” Husk said suddenly. Alastor watched the two leave, clearly amused by them.
Angel stumbled after the Gambling Overlord, looking around nervously.
“How are we suppose ta find these bombs??” Angel said, looking wary of every step he took. Husk just smirked.
“We find the fuckers who planted them and rough them up. We'll leave the killin’ to Al,” Husk said.
“But he didn't tell us what the guys looked like!” Angel protested. Husk shrugged.
“For demons as ballsy as them, I'd say they won't be hard to spot,” he said. Just as he said this, a loud crash was heard from the nearby alleyway, followed by some rather loud whispering.
“Idiot! You want to set those off already?!” the first voice heard was rather high-pitched, but definitely male.
“Sorry,” the second voice said, this one much deeper in comparison.
Husk and Angel shared a look, before creeping over to the alleyway entrance. They flanked the entrance, grinning when they saw it was a dead end. Husk stepped out into the open first.
“Hey there fellas,” Husk called. The two demons, the first a scrawny crow and the second a buff bull, turned to Husk in surprise.
“The hell do you want, kitty?” the crow spat, clearly the owner of the high-pitched voice. Husk’s wings flared.
“Well, that's simple. I want to know the location of EVERY bomb you've placed,” Husk grinned. The crow laughed.
“Why should we tell you?” he said. That's when Angel stepped out, a tommy gun in each of his six hands.
“Because if ya don't, we can set those bombs off now,” Angel grinned coolly, standing beside Husk. “I'm sure the two of us could get away fast than the two of youse~”
“W-wait!” the bull demon panicked, holding up his hands. “Don't shoot!”
“We won't if you tell us where the other bombs are,” Husk said, tail flicking. “NOW.” The two demons shared a glance, then nodded.
“They're all around the radio building. Two in front, three in back, and one on each side,” the crow said. Husk chuckled.
“Well, this was even easier than we expected,” Husk grinned. “Angel? Keep an eye on these two, I'll go get the other bombs.”
“Sure thing, boss,” Angel nodded, not taking his eyes off the two pathetic demons in front of him. He kept his guns trained on them and the lone bomb. It was about twenty minutes later, before Husk returned.
“Last one,” he muttered, heading into the alleyway. “You two move and Angel here’ll pull the trigger.” At the frantic twin nods, Husk moved forward and swiftly disabled the bomb.
“We good, Husky?” Angel called. Husk nodded, turning to Angel.
“Yeah, all-”
What happened next, no one saw coming.
The bull demon pulled out another bomb while Husk's back was turned. This one looked like a standard Hellmade bomb, no angelic steel in sight.
But still deadly.
And thrown straight at Husk's back.
“HUSK!” Angel screamed, right before the bomb went off. The force of the explosion knocked Angel onto his back, tommy guns flying from his hands. His head hit the pavement, vision swimming. He saw the crow and bull booking it from the scene.
He blinked and then saw black tentacles pulling them apart.
He blinked and saw a blurry Alastor leaning over him, saying something but Angel couldn't hear him over the ringing.
He blinked and saw Alastor crouched beside Husk.
He blinked and he was being carried by the Radio Demon.
His eyes stayed closed after that.

Angel's head hurt.
He noticed the pain first, scrunching his eyes a little before blinking them open. Soft lighting greeted him, and he realized he was laying on a comfortable bed.
“You awake?” a girl's voice said. Angel blinked again and Niffty suddenly filled his vision.
“What….?” Angel coughed a little throat dry.
“Hold on. Hey Nills? Come help me in here!” Niffty hopped down from the bed, zooming over to grab a remote to raise the bed slightly.
“Niffty? What's-....oh!” the bunny scampered into the room once he saw Angel awake. “Oh gosh, Angel! How are you feeling?”
“Thirsty,” Angel croaked, smiling softly. Nills nodded and quickly got some water, before bringing it back and helping Angel drink it. “Try not to move your head too much right now. You're still recovering.”
Angel hummed lightly as he sipped his water, before the events of what happened came rushing back.
The bomb.
Alastor saying something.
Husk.
“Where's Husk?” Angel asked, once he'd had enough to drink.
“The boss is fine,” Vanilla smiled, setting the glass down. “Or, he will be anyway. His feathers got singed off and his back fur too. The bigger pieces of shrapnel will leave some scars, but apparently the bomb exploded before it hit him.”
“But he's alive?” Angel asked, voice worried. Vanilla patted Angel's head lightly.
“He's alive,” Nills confirmed. Angel sighed in relief. “You need to rest, Angel. You got a concussion. The back of your head was bleeding and we're lucky Alastor managed to keep you somewhat awake.”
“Wait, what? I was awake?” Angel could remember anything after Alastor picked him up.
“Sorta. You weren't exactly coherent, but you were only half asleep,” Nills explained. Suddenly, Niffty jumped up beside him.
“I'm going to check your stitches. Hold still,” she instructed. Angel gave her a hum of understanding, before the little cyclops climbed behind Angel's head and unwrapped the bandages there. Angel hadn't even noticed them until now.
“How long was I out?” Angel asked while Niffty worked.
“About two days,” Nills said. “We were starting to worry you wouldn't wake up. We were told angelic steel might have been involved. Thankfully, we didn't find any on Husk.”
“Yeah, was working a job for Alastor,” Angel said. He winced softly as Niffty poked a tender spot.
“Stitches look good,” she announced, wrapping them back up. “I'd say a few more days to heal up and you should be good to go!”
“You a doctor or something, Niff?” Angel smiled in amusement.
“No. I'd rather clean,” she said, hopping down to the spider's lap. “Chasing bugs is much more fun. But, I help Husk from time to time with injuries.”
“Oh, I see,” Angel said. “Well, thanks for patching me up.”
“Sure!” Niffty beamed and raced out of the room.
“Niffty scares me sometimes,” Nills said, watching the door where Niffty disappeared. “Anywho, is there anything I can get you? You shouldn't do anything strenuous, but is there something you'd like?”
“I'm okay for now, thanks Nills,” Angel smiled.
“Of course! If you think of something, press this,” Nills handed Angel a small remote with a single gray button in the middle. “Someone from security can get it for you!”
“Thanks,” Angel smiled again. “Gonna try and nap for a bit. I'll see you later?”
“Sure thing. I'll be back with some food!” Nills' cotton tail wagged slightly, before he hopped down and scampered from the room.
Angel sighed and shifted lightly to get more comfortable. He stared at the ceiling, letting his thoughts drift.
He had so many questions, and all of them about recent events.
Why did Alastor save them? Was there a motive? Would they owe the Radio Demon another favor now?
Was Husk really going to be okay? He was alive, but was that really all the damage he'd suffered?
And what about Valentino? What was the moth up to? He hadn't tried to come back for Angel yet, just….left him in the street? Why? What for? Was he planning something bigger?
All these questions were starting to aggravate the headache Angel had, which couldn't be good for his concussion. So, Angel decided to close his eyes and actually try to nap.
Before a soft knock on his door roused him again.
“Angie!” Cherri rushed in, looking a mix of worried and happy. “Ya bitch! Ya had me worried!”
“Hey suga-tits,” Angel smiled lightly. “You been around the past few days?”
“I got your text about coming over and when you didn't respond, I went to that casino place,” Cherri explained, sitting beside Angel. “When they told me you'd been injured….”
“Sorry ta worry ya,” Angel said. Cherri waved him off.
“Its fine, as long as you're alive! I would have killed you double-dead if you'd gotten yourself blown up, Angie!” she said. Angel chuckled lightly.
“I don't think that would work, babe, but sure,” he patted her leg with the hand nearest her. Cherri smiled.
“But seriously, I was worried,” she said. “Oh! Hey, before I forget-” She dug around in her purse, something she didn't carry often, but admitted it had its uses from time to time. “Here!” Cherri handed Angel a little white box with a light pink ribbon tied around it.
“What's this?” Angel asked, taking the box. Cherri just waved a hand for him to open it. Angel rose a brow, but did as she asked, removing the ribbon and lifting the lid.
Nestled inside the box was a little silver spider pendant on a thin, matching silver chain.
“And look,” Cherri reached over and removed the necklace. “The chain won't break, but the clasp is break-away. And…..” She tugged on the pendant, the spider part pulling away and revealing a small, hidden knife.
“Cherri, I….I love it,” Angel smiled. “Help me put it on?” Cherries beamed and nodded, putting the necklace back together, before carefully clasping it around Angel's neck. The pendant reached down to his chest fluff, so he could hide it if he wanted.
“Happy Birthday, Angie,” Cherri said. Angel blushed.
“Shit, is that today?” Angel chuckled. “Didn't even realize, but I guess now this makes sense.” Angel gestured to the necklace with a smile. Cherri laughed.
“I'm glad you like it. I'd stay longer, but there's some turf I gotta defend. Damn newbies think they're Overlords or some shit,” Cherri rolled her eye. “I'll let you get some rest, okay?”
“Don't be a stranger,” Angel smiled at her as Cherri waved and left.

I had to confirm THE BOIS ARE OKAY! 🤭 Plus, Angel needed something sweet for his birthday. 😋🎂
Chapter Text
It was another day before Angel was able to go visit Husk, under the orders that he take it easy on himself. Currently, Angel was sat at Husk's bedside, the Overlord laid out on his stomach.
“How long will it be before your fur and feathers grow back?” Angel asked, tracing along the still intact feathers of Husk's wings.
“Not too long. Gonna be a bitch to maintain it though, since it'll all grow back rougher than it was before,” Husk said. He had his head pillowed on his arms and was staring at the spider.
“If ya want, I can help with your fur,” Angel said idly. “Don't know nothing about wing care, but fur I've got a good handle on.”
“Sure,” Husk smiled at him. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Boss?” Oliver stepped in with a little tray. “I was told to bring this up for you.”
“What is it?” Husk asked, attempting to look up. Oliver lowered the tray so Husk didn't strain himself.
“Antibiotics,” Oliver explained, showing the Overlord a little cup with bright pink liquid inside. “The doctors found some infection on your back apparently. Said to give you this.”
“Ugh, in liquid form?” Husk made a face, Angel snickering beside him.
“Not a fan, Whiskers?” Angel teased. Husk grumbled.
“I'd rather dry swallow pills than drink liquid meds,” he huffed.
“Sorry, boss,” Oliver smirked. “Doc’s orders.” He picked up the little cup and held it out. Husk sighed and shifted so he could drink the foul stuff. “I was told it's cherry flavored.”
“Ugh, that's worse,” Husk whined lightly, moving to set the cup down again.
“Ah ah, I got multiple hands, Husk,” Angel smirked. “I can't hold you down and force you to drink it if you don't.” Husk seemed to hesitate at that.
“You wouldn't.”
“Wanna bet~?”
Husk sighed and took back the cup, wrinkling his nose, then downing the whole thing like a shot. He gagged lightly, then just groaned.
“Here,” Oliver handed Husk some water, which the Overlord took gratefully and downed half the glass in one go.
“Easy, don't wanna make yourself sick,” Angel gently moved the glass away.
“Worth it,” Husk grumbled. “CHERRY flavored? Yuck.” Angel snickered.
“Aw, at least it's over now,” he reassured. Husk seemed to settle into a grumpy cat. Oliver gave the Overlord a sympathetic look, then left the room.
“Hey, Angel?” Husk murmured sleepily after a few moments.
“Yeah?” Angel smiled lightly.
“You should go get some sleep. You were discharged, right?” Husk blinked slowly at him.
“Not yet. Hopefully tomorrow,” Angel corrected.
“Ah. Well, make sure Cutter goes with you when you go back to the apartment building,” Husk hummed.
“Will do. You sound sleepy yourself,” Angel reached out and gently carded his fingers through Husk's hair. The Overlord let out a soft sigh and relaxed, eyes closing.
“Just gonna…..take a quick……nap,” Husk yawned. Rather adorably in Angel's humble opinion.
“A quick nap,” Angel repeated, watching the Overlord fondly as he drifted off.
It was then that Angel realized something. Something he wasn't prepared for. Something he never thought he'd get himself into again.
He was falling in love with the Overlord.
Notes:
Sorry this chapter is literally the shortest in the story. 😅 I started writing this in the dentist waiting room, then took a much needed nap, then forgot about this, and by the time I remembered, it was midnight. 😂
But I think a little extra fluff was in order before more angst. Because y'all are not ready for what I have in store~

Chapter Text
Angel insisted the next day that he was fine and could go back to work.
Of course, Husk disagreed strongly with that.
“No, Angel. I can't stop you leaving the hospital, but you ain't working yet,” Husk glared lightly at the spider.
“Husk, I'll be fine, I promise!” Angel pleaded. “I'll even ask Cutter to pull me off stage if it looks like I'm not gonna do it myself.” Husk sighed. He was sitting up today, wings and back healing nicely, but still tender.
“Fine. But you better tell Cutter I expect him to pull you off the SECOND you seem to not be doing well,” Husk pressed. Angel beamed.
“You got it! I promise!” Angel said. He went to hug Husk, but thought better of it. Husk chuckled and reached over to ever-so-lightly ruffle Angel's hair.
“Good. Now, get out so I can sleep some more and hopefully get out soon,” Husk waved Angel off.
“Yes sir~” Angel cooed. He stood from his spot beside Husk and headed out.
In the lobby, Cutter was waiting for him.
“Angel! It's good to see you're alright!” Cutter smiled, showing off his sharp shark teeth.
“Ah, just a bump on the head is all it was, I'm fine babe~” Angel smirked. Cutter laughed.
“Well regardless, it's good to see you okay. Let's get you home, yeah?” Cutter gestured to the doors.
But Angel paused.
Home.
It hadn't even been that long since he'd left Val's employment. Hell, Angel had barely lived in the apartment building. Was it really home?
“Angel?” Cutter waved a hand in front of the spider's face. Angel blinked.
“Huh? Oh, sorry! Just lost in thought,” he smiled easily. “That reminds me, Husk says I can go back ta work as long as ya promise to pull me off as soon as I look double-dead on my feet.”
“Can do,” Cutter nodded with a smile, holding the door open for Angel. They walked in comfortable silence back to Pride's Paradise.
“I'm gonna go get ready for the show,” Angel said. “Will ya walk a gal back to her place later?” Cutter chuckled.
“I certainly can,” he nodded and waved as Angel dashed off to change. He slipped on his new dress from Rosie, which was probably his favorite now. He touched up his makeup and was out on stage in record time.
Angel was doing well, he managed to make it two hours through his shift. But he could feel exhaustion finally catching up and he stumbled a bit during his performance.
“Shit….” Angel cursed to himself. Suddenly, he found himself being pulled off stage by Cutter, just as the shark promised.
“That's it for the night, folks!” Cutter called to the crowd Angel had gathered, who responded with groans of disappointment. Angel giggled a bit, obediently following Cutter.
“Thanks,” Angel said. Cutter just nodded.
Angel changed again, and once again as promised, Cutter waited to walk Angel to the apartment building.
“Thanks for escorting little ol’ me,” Angel smiled as they neared the building.
“No problem,” Cutter said. “I gotta get back to the casino though. Call me if you need anything.”
“I will,” Angel promised. He made his way up to his apartment.
Oink!
Upon opening the door, Fat Nuggets headbutted Angel's legs.
“Nugs!” Angel cooed and picked up his beloved pet. “Hey bud! I missed ya!” He snuggled and kissed his pig, carrying him further into the apartment. Angel set him on the bed, slipping into a pair of pajamas. “Should we relax and watch a movie?” Another oink from the piglet and Angel nodded in confirmation.
He went to the kitchen, remembering what Husk said about eating what he wanted and when he wanted. So, Angel looked through the cupboards and found some popcorn. There was Jiffy Pop, something that had come out after Angel died, but he'd gotten familiar with the stuff while in Hell.
Humming a soft tune, he started making the popcorn, watching it puff up in amusement. Jiffy Pop was scary as hell sometimes, since he always had a bit of fear it would explode. It never did.
Once that was done, he and Fat Nuggets cuddled on the couch and Angel turned on a movie from Voxflix. If he could, Angel would avoid the platform, but unfortunately it DID have the best movies.
He tossed a few of the fluffier kernels to Fat Nuggets from time to time as Angel munched on the popcorn. The movie he'd settled on was full, but Angel just wanted it for the noise, something to fall asleep to. And soon enough, him and Nuggets were curled up on the couch together.
Unfortunately that meant Angel failed to notice the little pink butterfly that fluttered in under the crack of the window.

The fuck was he wearing?
Angel woke up on the couch, still curled around Fat Nuggets. The spider yawned and stretched, only to freeze when he caught sight of his arms. He wasn't looking at his pajamas.
“What the…..?” Angel grumbled as he say up, ignoring the grunt he got from Nugs as he was moved.
Angel was wearing a light pink dress, like a princess gown. It was long and had way too many layers. The neckline was a scoop neck and long, pale pink sleeves covered his arms.
“How….what….?” Angel couldn't form a proper sentence, trying to understand what was going on. He stood, wanting out of the dress. It reminded him too much of his time with Val, that awful yellow dress he'd been forced to wear.
Uncaring of the garment, Angel stripped it off then and there, deciding to be nude. He went to his closet to find something else to wear.
He reentered the living space wearing a different dress, this one a bit more form-fitting and solid black. Red and white card suits decorated the hems. This, Angel thought, was much better.
He went to the kitchen and started making himself breakfast. Such some simple scrambled eggs, nothing fancy. He was humming a tune, before he felt something on his neck. Like…..cool. Silk like. Angel frowned lightly, finishing up his eggs and playing them, before reaching up to his neck.
“What is going on?” he muttered, feeling something like a scarf. He went to the bedroom and looked in the mirror on the wall there. Indeed, a little scarf was now suddenly tied around his neck. It was silk and dark pink. Angel scowled and untied it, tossing it to the floor.
Only it didn't land on the floor.
Mid-air, it transformed into a smoky pink butterfly. Angel startled and backed up. While the butterfly itself didn't scare Angel, the fact that it was made of smoke the same shade as Valentino's did.
The butterfly fluttered in front of Angel, before transforming again into a small bottle of love potion. Angel caught it on instinct, but sneered at the little bottle.
“Oh fuck no,” he said, hurling it at the wall. The bottle broke and the butterfly didn't reform. Angel stormed out of his apartment and made his way to the casino.
♥♠♦♣
Valentino growled, sensing his little butterfly trick had failed.
“Why isn't this working?!”
“Maybe because you don't know shit about Stockholm Syndrome?” Vox said. He was sitting on the couch in Valentino's office, watching the moth with a bored expression.
“What?!” Valentino whirled on the TV. Vox pulled out his phone and searched up the term. He held it up to the moth, the brightness all the way up so Val could see. Val snatched up the phone and read the results. “Fuck!”
“Why don't you just gamble for him again? Or, better yet, leave things alone?” Vox suggested.
“We are losing money without his entertaining holes!” Val spat. “I will NOT leave it alone!”
“Then gamble again,” Vox stood, walking over to the taller Overlord. “Husk can't resist a gamble.”
“He'll either cheat or I'll lose to actual skill,” Valentino huffed. Vox grinned.
“Not if we rig the game ourselves~”
♥♠♦♣
Husk had made the windows and doors to Angel's apart airtight. The vents were covered in magic to ward off any unwanted pests from getting in.
After Angel had come storming into Pride's Paradise, Husk ordered all this to happen. He insisted on placing the spell on the vents himself though, much to the doctor's chargin.
“Husk, don't push yourself for me,” Angel said. The Overlord had just been released that morning and Angel was still worried over him.
“I'm not, I promise,” Husk smiled. He kept his wings tucked in close. “I called a meeting with Ayumu and Alastor later. Alastor so I can chew him out for putting us in danger like that, and Ayumu for her help in keeping Tino off our backs.”
“Can I come with?” Angel asked. Husk shrugged lightly.
“Sure, if you want,” he said. Angel beamed.
“Thanks.”

Chapter Text
Husk and Angel took one of Husk's limo's to Ayumu’s residence. It was a traditional Japanese palace, located on the outskirts of the city. It was just far away enough from the hustle and bustle that it was near peaceful.
“Wow….” Angel's jaw dropped as they neared the place. “Damn, this place is FANCY.”
“You can say that again. This is my first time here too,” Husk said, looking out the window with Angel.
Soon, the limo stopped and the two climbed out.
“Welcome,” a black, sphinx cat demon stepped forward, bowing slightly. Ironically, she didn't match the Japanese aesthetics, dressed in a deep purple, 1920’s style dress. Her light brown hair was pinned up in loose curls. “My name is Algae, I'm Ayumu-sama’s assistant.”
“Nice to meet you, Algae-san” Husk said politely.
“Oh please, just Algae is fine, or Miss Algae,” she smiled. “Unlike Ayumu-sama, I'm not from Japan. So no need to address me as such. But by the way, would either of you like some cocaine?”
“You got coke?” Angel perked up. Husk gently stopped him.
“Maybe after if you still want it, but let's get through this meeting sober, okay?” Husk said. Angel blushed at being called out, but nodded.
“I'll save the good stuff for you if you want it after,” Algae promised. Suddenly, her ears twitched and she sighed. “Excuse me a moment, I have to take care of something.”
“We can see ourselves in,” Husk assured her. Algae smiled and rounded the corner. Angel was sure he caught a glimpse of a snake demon trying to blast a cannon at the walls.
“Wonder what that was about?” Angel asked as he followed Husk to the main building. The Overlord shrugged.
“Not sure,” he said.
“Husk-san! Angel-chan!” Ayumu called, running towards them. She was carrying two eggs in her arms.
“Konnichiwa, Ayumu-sama,” Husk greeted. “Um, what's with…..?” He gestured to the eggs.
“Oh, these darlings? I picked them up off the street,” Ayumu beamed. The eggs wiggled.
“GIVE ME BACK MY MINIONS!” a voice, Victorian era British if they had to guess, called from over the wall. Ayumu ignored it.
“Please, come in! Alastor-san is already here,” she turned, still cuddling the egg bois. Angel glanced at Husk, before the two followed the Overlord.
Ayumu led them into what seemed to be a parlor. Alastor was sat on the floor, legs folded neatly under him. Ayumu sat beside him, finally placing the eggs down, who scampered off. Husk and Angel sat as well, Husk just as nearly as the others, while Angel awkwardly folded his long legs under him.
“Thank you for agreeing to meet with us,” Husk started.
“I'm glad to see you're doing well, my friend,” Alastor spoke. “That bomb came rather close to you, it was lucky it went off before it made contact.”
“Don't expect any favors of a similar nature any time soon, got it?” Husk glowered. Alastor shrugged.
“You mentioned something about that insipid moth?” Ayumu said, changing the subject.
“Yes,” Husk said, turning to the fox. “He is still after Angel and frankly it's becoming not only a safety hazard for Angel, but an inconvenience to Pride's Paradise as a whole. My staff are on constant high alert because of him.”
“I see,” Ayumu muttered, a few of her many tails flicking. Her gaze seemed distant now, touching the dark band at her throat. “Is there perhaps a way we could lure him out into the open? I understand through Algae-chan that the Vee's are rather flashy, so I'd assume he'd want to be in the spotlight.”
“Yeah, he's a real drama king,” Angel said. “Loves attention and being in control.” Angel noticed the way Ayumu tensed slightly in anger, but it didn't seem directed at him.
“I highly doubt he is a fair opponent in a fight,” Ayumu said. “Otherwise I would go after him myself.”
“He likes guns,” Angel said helpfully. Ayumu made a face.
“Swords, bows and arrows, claws, all of those are better than guns,” she said. “Guns are messy and not nearly as refined.”
“You can't deny their uses though,” Alastor countered. Just then Algae entered with some tea.
“Apologies, Ayumu-sama,” she said. “I managed to get Sir Pentious to leave. Though I really must insist you give him the eggs back.”
“They are perfectly fine where they are,” Ayumu said. “Algae-chan, be a dear and investigate what you can about Valentino on that….what was it called again?”
“The internet,” Algae said. “Right away.” She left with a polite bow.
“Always so helpful,” Ayumu smiled. Algae fell down here in the twenties, she's been keeping me up to date with the modern age. She also makes an excellent drug seller.”
“So, we lure him out and then what?” Angel asked.
“Well, my effeminate fellow,” Alastor said. “We would find a way to take care of the pest!”
“The question is how,” Husk added. “No matter what we do, he either won't stop or will leave a power vacuum. Plus, I'd rather not start a war with the Vee's if I can avoid it.”
“It's unfortunate, their combined strength,” Ayumu nodded.
“Nonsense, Vox and Valentino are probably some of the weakest sinners I know!” Alastor laughed. “However, I agree that would leave us with a power vacuum. As entertaining as it would be to watch others struggle to fill it, I'd rather it be someone we have a little influence over.”
“Does Hell even need that silly Studio?” Ayumu sighed.
“What, not a fan of porn?” Angel asked.
“Even less than me, I'd imagine,” Alastor answered for Ayumu. The demoness got that faraway look again.
“I'm not a fan of it, no,” she said. Angel suddenly had an idea of what she meant.
“Oh, I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect-”
“It's alright,” Ayumu cut him off. “You didn't know.” She smiled sadly. “My husband married me when I was young. He defiled me, and when my children were born, he took them from me. Sacrificed them. He got what he deserved when I got down here to Hell.”
“Oh, shit….” Angel's eyes widened in horror.
“Oh so THAT'S why you keep those eggs around!” Alastor said. “I was never one for children myself, but I can understand the sentiment.” After all, he himself was a proud Mama's boy.
“Indeed……let's move on,” Ayumu said. She clearly didn't want to delve deeper into her memories. “Husk-san, why don't you and Angel-chan collaborate with Algae-chan on how to lure Valentino out on his own? I'll work with Alastor-san on how to deal with him.”
“Of course,” Husk nodded respectfully. “We should-”
Suddenly, he was cut off by his phone chiming.
“Who's that?” Angel asked curiously. Husk frowned and pulled his phone out. There was a message. He opened it and his eyes widened.
“Guess we don't need to lure Valentino out. Vox just texted me and asked if I have time to play Tino in a game.”
Notes:
Y'all enjoy the Pentious cameo? 🤭
Also, say hello to Algae! She is my very first Hazbin OC that I made back in 2019 when the pilot had only been out for a few months. She is very near and dear to my heart. 💜

Chapter Text
The next few days were stressful for Angel, what with the upcoming game and planning between Ayumu, Alastor and Husk.
Angel was currently just getting back to his apartment after a night of work, flopping down on his couch. Fat Nuggets came up and plopped down on his back.
“Hey Nuggies,” Angel said tiredly. He pillowed his head on his upper arms, the secondary pair holding up his phone. He scrolled through his socials, scowling at any images of Val.
Man, had his feeds really shown that much of the moth this whole time?
Sighing, he shut his phone off, before he heard a knock at the door.
“It's open!” Angel called, not willing to disturb the now sleeping Nuggets.
“Hi Angel!” Nills and Falls opened the door and walked in, smiling.
“Hey there,” Angel smiled, still laying on the couch.
“Aw, that's adorable!” Falls gushed over the piglet. Angel chuckled lightly, causing Fat Nuggets to bounce a little.
“What can I do for ya?” Angel asked.
“Well, we noticed how stressed you've looked lately, so….” Vanilla smiled. “We wanted to ask if you wanted to come to a little party with us!”
“A party?” Angel looked surprised.
“Yeah, it'll be me, Farfalla, Cutter and Oliver mainly. A small party,” Vanilla explained with a smile. Angel returned the expression.
“Sure, why not? What time is the party?” he asked. Falls’ wings fluttered in excitement.
“It's tonight, about nine in the evening. It'll be in the casino!” Falls said.
“The casino?” Angel sat up, disturbing Nuggets. He gave him a few apology pats and the piglet settled beside him instead.
“You'll see why later,” Nills giggled. Angel shook his head fondly.
“Alright, I'm trusting you two,” he said.
“You won't regret it!” Falls said.
“Come on, Falls, we gotta go get ready for the party!” Vanilla dragged the butterfly from the apartment. “See ya later Angel!”
“See ya!” Angel called back. The spider looked amused, then felt his phone buzz. It was a text from Husk, asking him to meet him up in his penthouse apartment.
Suddenly Angel wasn't tired anymore.
He jumped up and ran to his closet. Sure, what he was wearing now was cute, but Angel wanted to REALLY stand out. He'd noticed lately that he craved to be around Husk…..which both frightened and excited him. On one hand, it reminded him of his time with Valentino. How Angel had been head-over-heels for the moth, despite him owning the spider. How that relationship soured fairly quickly, how Valentino manipulated and used him.
But, on the other hand, Husk wasn't like that at all. He cared about Angel's wellbeing, was fair and kind. He always made sure Angel was happy and comfortable and safe. He never pushed for his consent on things he didn't want to do.
It made Angel feel….loved. Real love, not the fake shit Val had him believing was true.
So, Angel decided that instead of his 1920’s inspired black dress, he'd go for something a little different. He pulled out a black pencil skirt, matching it with a soft, light pink, off-the-shoulder sweater. He pulled on his tall boots and quickly made his way to the top floor.
Angel hadn't even knocked yet, before the door was swinging open.
“Oh, Angel!” Husk said, looking surprised. “I was just about to see where you were.” The spider blushed softly.
“Sorry, had ta change clothes,” Angel admitted.
“Well, you didn't have to, you look good in everything,” Husk grinned. “But this outfit does look much more comfortable.” Angel's face went from pink to red.
“Y-yeah! It is!” he stammered. Husk stepped aside to let Angel in and he walked further into the penthouse.
“Make yourself at home,” Husk said, closing the door and moving over to the kitchen.
“Wow…..” Angel looked around the space, a little befuddled. “Is it always this messy?”
“I'm not much of a cleaner and I don't usually have guests,” Husk admitted, calling from the kitchen. The mess in question was dishes and clothes everywhere, though it looked like someone had attempted to tidy a little bit. Angel peeked into another room, finding the bedroom with the bed unmade. But, to be fair, so was Angel's. Why make it just to mess it up again?
The color scheme was the same as Angel's own apartment, which was funny to the spider. Did that mean Husk just really liked the colors, or was he just too lazy to pick different ones for himself? He wasn't sure and wasn't going to ask that. Not now at least, but maybe later.
Husk came back with two drinks, a whiskey for himself and a blackberry porch rocker for Angel.
“Sit, please,” Husk smiled and handed Angel the drink. The spider took it and sat on the sofa.
“Thanks,” he said, sipping at it. He smiled at the fruity taste. “Fruity, just like me~” Husk chuckled, sitting across from him on the sofa.
“Glad you like it,” he said. “I wanted to talk to you about the upcoming game.” Angel nodded. “I'm sure Tino is gonna go for your soul. But I'm not going to bet it, so there's no need to worry there.”
“Wait, you aren't?” Angel seemed to be caught off guard by that. “Why?” Husk frowned.
“What do you mean ‘why’?” he asked. “You're not going back to Valentino.” Angel felt something tug at his heart.
“I mean, I don't doubt you'll win this, but why not bet me?” Angel asked quietly. “That's what Overlords do, right?” Husk shook his head.
“Not this one. I ain't gonna endanger you,” he said. Angel felt a lump in his throat.
“You should bet me. I ain't worth losing something else over, even if ya don't actually lose,” Angel tried. Why was he fighting Husk on this?
“What? Angel, do….do you not want to stay here?” Oh no, now Husk sounded concerned, hurt…..Angel didn't want that.
“I do! I really REALLY do. But…. you're going through all this trouble for me…..” Angel rushed to explain.
“Don't. No feeling guilty, or you don't deserve it, or whatever it is you're thinking and feeling,” Husk said. He reached dover and took hold of one of Angel's hands. “I want to help Angel. Okay? This is something I WANT to do.”
“I….” Angel looked up and into Husk's eyes. He saw how genuine the Overlord was being and all Angel could do was nod. “Okay….”
“Good,” Husk smiled, gave Angel's hand a squeeze, then sat back and took a sip of his whiskey. “Now, other than Tino's shit eyes, anything else I should know?”
“Um….” Angel thought about the moth. “His smoke, I guess? It's a strong drug. Or, well, the smoke dilutes the true drug of his saliva, but it's still pretty damn strong.”
“He produces a drug?” Husk looked intrigued.
“Well yeah. What did you think that love potion stuff was made from?” Angel cocked his head. Husk made a face.
“Ugh, I knew there was a good reason I never bought that trash. And not just because of the fairness of it,” Husk said. Angel snickered.
“It's more diluted than his smoke, but it definitely is strong….for a few hours at least,” Angel said. Husk nodded.
“Well then, I'll need you there on game night,” Husk decided. Angel's mirth faded.
“What?”
“Your job will be to make sure Valentino or whoever he brings with him doesn't spike my drink or drug me in any other way,” Husk explained. Angel blinked.
“You'd trust me to do that?” he asked. He felt….honored.
“Of course,” Husk chuckled lightly. “Now, it's getting late, and I hear Nills and Falls are organizing a party.” Angel smiled.
“Yeah, they invited me,” Angel said. He finished off his drink and took the cup back to the kitchen to wash it.
“Just leave it,” Husk called. Angel waved him off and washed it anyway. Least he could do.
“It's fine, I got it,” he said. “You know, you should let hay Niffty chick come in and clean.” He teased Husk. The Overlord rolled his eyes.
“I know, but she's too nosy….and thorough,” he explained, drawing a laugh from Angel.
“Well, thanks for the drink,” Angel said.
“Anytime, Legs,” Husk said. Angel blushed at the nickname and headed out of the penthouse.

Chapter Text
When Angel got back to Pride's Paradise for the party, he was shocked.
It looked almost like a nightclub now, but closed to the public.
“Hey, Angel!” Cutter called over by the doors. Angel smiled and walked over.
“Damn, you guys really went all out, huh?” he asked.
“Eh, just the first floor here,” Cutter shrugged. “Since it's such a small party.”
“It looks good,” Angel smiled, following the shark inside.
“Angel!” Nills came over, little bunny tail wagging excitedly. “Come on, we have a surprise for you!”
“For me?” Angel already looked surprised.
“Nills, get him over here already!” Oliver called from the bar, where Farfalla sat with a wrapped box.
“What is going on?” Angel smiled as he, Nills and Cutter walked over.
“We heard it was your birthday, and you had to celebrate it in the hospital,” Falls said. Angel's eyes widened and he nodded.
“Yeah, but my friend Cherri came by and gave me this,” he said, pulling out his necklace. He smiled at the “oohs” and “ahhs”.
“Well, we chipped in for this for you,” Nills said, taking the box from Falls. He set it on the bar top and took off the lid.
Inside was a beautiful round cake, covered in white and pink icing and strawberries. On the top was written “Happy Birthday Angel” in dark pink.
“You guys….” Angel stared, stunned.
“It's white cake,” Oliver said. “We didn't know what kind of cake you'd want, so we decided to play it safe.”
“It's perfect,” Angel said. He wasn't much for sweets, but the gesture was so nice he wasn't gonna complain.
The party was fun, the little group having cake, a few drinks and dancing to whatever Vanilla had on his phone. Angel hadn't had this much fun in a long time. It was nice.
Eventually, Cutter ended up carrying Nills and Falls back to their apartments, and Oliver closed up the bar.
“Thanks for tonight,” Angel said.
“Of course,” Oliver said. “You're part of our little family here now. Can't let you celebrate your birthday in the hospital.” Angel chuckled.
“Well thanks, Ollie,” he ruffled the cat's hair, who batted at his hands.
“Yeah yeah. See you tomorrow!” Oliver grinned, heading out. Angel waved after him, stopping in the bathroom before leaving himself.
Why hadn't he asked Oliver to wait for him? Why had he left the casino alone?
These questions plagued him the moment he stepped out of Pride's Paradise and found himself immediately surrounded by smoke. They were the last thoughts before he blacked out.

Chapter Text
When Angel woke up, his head was pounding.
“Ugh….” he groaned, forcing his eyes open slowly to see where he was. The first thing he saw was that he was lying in a bed. Not the nicest bed, but clean at least. It was a twin with scratchy blankets. Turning his head slightly to the right, he saw a large window overlooking the city, the sky dark. Angel slowly pushed himself up, then noticed a bedside table to his left. There was a glass of water sitting there. As much as he'd love to drink it, he didn't trust that it wasn't laced with something.
“Good, you're awake,” Vox said, flashing out from a security camera in the corner of the room. Angel jumped, then clutched his head as it pounded harder from the movement.
“Ow…..fuck, Vox?” he muttered. Vox grinned.
“Hello Angel,” he said. “Val's been missing you.” The Overlord seemed to delight in the way the spider froze at that statement. “Unfortunately for him, he can't touch you. Wouldn't be fair.”
“What are you talking about?” Angel said. He glanced around the room and realized he couldn't see a door…..maybe a secret one somewhere? Vox clearly wouldn't show him since he's come in through the camera….guess that meant Angel would need time to explore.
"Val and I are going to play Husk for your soul,” Vox said. He casually checked his nails. “Or, more accurately Val will. I'll be the neutral party and hang on to you so everything is fair.”
“What?!” Angel yelled, ignoring his headache. “You can't do that!”
“We can,” Vox said. “I texted Husk that the game will be tomorrow. So don't worry your pretty, dumb head.” Angel growled.
“You kidnapped me!” he shouted. “If you think this gives Val some sort of advantage y-” Angel was cut off as Vox started to laugh.
“Oh Angel~” he grinned darkly at the spider. “I'm sure Husk is planning something to make sure he wins. Why can't Valentino do the same?” Angel swallowed, shrinking back as Vox stalked closer.
“W-what are you doing?” Angel asked, wincing at the stutter. Vox suddenly pushed Angel down on the bed.
“I promised Val I'd say ‘hello’ to his favorite whore for him. And Val was VERY specific about how I do that~” he said, climbing on top of the spider. “Besides, I want to see what all the fuss is about. I want to see if you're really that good~”
“No, Vox, stop-!” Angel panicked, trying to free himself from under Vox, but the TV Overlord turned up the brightness of his screen and used his powers to hypnotize Angel.
“Now, stay still and take this like the good slut you are~” Vox cooed. He waited for Angel to fall under his control, watching the spider go limp and dumb. Vox grinned and stripped him of his clothes, pulling his own pants down.
It wasn't pretty. Angel cried and screamed as Vox rammed into him, not prepping the spider at all. But Angel's limbs felt like lead. His body started going numb and he was still completely aware of everything that was happening to him.
He tried to tell Vox off again, but his throat closed up, choking on his screams now. He felt like he was going to vomit.
Finally, after what felt like hours, Vox finished inside of Angel and pulled out. The TV panted, then chuckled.
“Well, I certainly understand why Val likes to play with you,” he said. “Next time, let's record this. We can record lots, as you'll soon be back here permanently.”
“No….” Angel cried weakly. Tears streamed down his face. He never wanted to come back here. Husk wouldn't let that happen.
Husk.
Oh shit, did Husk know he was even here? Would Vox have told him? Angel didn't want to think he wasn't going to be saved.
He had to believe in Husk. In Alastor. In Ayumu. They had a plan….or most of a plan. Angel knew that in the end, he'd be back with Husk.
Angel was so caught up in his thoughts, he didn't feel Vox pull out and leave the spider a mess. He didn't hear the TV talking to him. He didn't see him leave again.
Angel stared at the ceiling and for the first time in a long time, he prayed Husk would save him.

I'm sorry!!! *Dodges the pitchforks, torches and whatever else is thrown my way*
Vox is a jealous bitch, can you blame him for causing angst? (I mean, you def can, but you know what I mean 😂)
Chapter 20: What Are These Feelings?

Chapter Text
Husk was LIVID.
Actually, that word probably didn't describe the pure rage he felt hearing that Angel had been kidnapped by Vox. But unfortunately, Husk wasn't allowed to just take him back.
“Why the fuck not?!” Husk yelled to Alastor, who was casually sitting in his office at Pride's Paradise.
“My good man, while Angel is under your contract, Valentino and Vox are clearly using him as a bargaining chip,” Alastor said.
“Well it's a shit bargaining chip,” Husk growled. “I own Angel's soul, they have no right to take him.”
“Look, Husker, they clearly won't tell you where he is unless you play,” Alastor said. “Let Lady Ayumu and I deal with finding him.” Husk threw a few cards at the wall in anger, Alastor not even flinching when they zipped past him.
“Fine. But let Cutter help you,” Husk said. Alastor stood.
“Very well,” he agreed, before sinking into the shadows. Husk sighed and sat down at his desk. Angel had been gone for almost a full day now and Vox wasn't giving up the location. He had given his word that Valentino didn't know. Now, he could only hope that Alastor and Ayumu found Angel quickly.
“Vanilla,” Husk called into his intercom. A few moments later, the bunny came hopping into the room.
“Yes sir?” Vanilla asked.
“Since Angel has been kidnapped, I need you to stand in his place at the game,” Husk said. “He was to help keep an eye out for any spiked drinks or other drugs.”
“You can count on me!” Vanilla nodded. Husk smiled.
“Thanks, Nills. I just wish Angel were here,” he said. Vanilla hopped up onto Husk's desk, casually sitting down on it.
“You really like him, don't you?” he observed. Husk blushed.
“What? I mean, I care about him just like I care about you,” he said. Nills giggled.
“I know you do, but I think you care for him a little more,” Nills said. “I know you get worried when something happens to your employees, but Angel seems to have really taken your heart.”
“That's…..Nills, I-” Husk stammered. Vanilla just smiled knowingly, before jumping down from the desk.
“Let me know when you need me, sir,” he said, before leaving the office. Husk just stared after the bunny, consumed with thoughts on this new information.
These feelings he had for Angel…..were they truly more than concern for an employee? He had gone pretty above and beyond for him…..but he'd do the same for the others!
But….he had never felt this worried or angry about one of his employees going missing. This was really uncharted territory for him……and was this the real reason Vox had taken Angel??
This was bad. If Husk caught feelings for Angel, he'd need to make sure to either hide them away completely or put a hard stop on them. Husk would not let them be used as leverage. Especially if it meant others could use them to hurt Angel. Husk wouldn't have that.
Decided, Husk summoned all of his cards back to himself and prepared for the night's game. He wasn't going to lose.

This was it.
Tonight would set Angel free.
That's what Husk had to tell himself as he sat down across from Valentino at the card table. He had to try very hard not to look at Angel, who had been dolled up and sat in a chair beside Valentino.
“Hope you don't mind,” Valentino said, smirking. “My eyes aren't what they used to be, so Angelcakes here will be reading me the cards.”
“I don't mind,” Husk said. “Vanilla will be listening though to catch any cheating. This needs to be a fair game.”
“Of course, I wouldn't dream of anything less~” Val chuckled, setting Husk's fur on edge. Vanilla cleared his throat, before shuffling the cards.
“One and done deal,” he said, dealing. “Whoever wins the first hand will be tonight's winner.”
“I'd like to make our bets official,” Husk said. “I'll wager my casino and status as an Overlord to you if I lose. Obviously, in exchange, I want Angel to be left alone from here on out.”
“That's it? Nothing else?” Valentino looked bored, placing a hand on Angel's thigh. Angel, who was wearing a mini skirt and crop top, cringed at the touch.
“That's it,” Husk said, fighting to keep the growl out of his voice. He looked to Vanilla, who nodded.
“Please take a look at your cards,” he said. Husk spared a risky glance to Angel, who was busy looking at Valentino's cards. He sighed, then leaned over to whisper into the moth’s ear, using a hand to cover his mouth from Husk.
Meanwhile, Husk looked at his own cards, silently cheering at his poker face.
He'd somehow managed to get a Royal Flush.
Husk carefully watched as Val discarded two cards and was rewarded with something apparently better than what he'd had. The moth grinned as Angel read him the two new cards, before nodding at the bunny.
“Right. A reminder, one hand is the deciding win,” Nills said. Both men nodded and then laid down their cards.
Val had a Full House. But that was nothing compared to Husk's hand.
“WHAT??” Valentino shot to standing, slamming his hands on the table. “YOU CHEATED!”
“Actually,” Nills said, quickly hopping to the middle of the table. Husk had to stifle a grin at the odd picture they made, the tiny bunny standing up to the towering moth. “That's not true.”
“Vanilla is correct,” Alastor said, coming out of the shadows, Ayumu right behind him. “I saw everything. Husker did not use any magic or tricks. It was simply ‘luck of the draw’.”
“Valentino,” Ayumu said. Husk startled a bit at her lack of honorific, then remembered that in Japanese culture, that was a very rude thing. “You are the one who attempted to cheat. Vox was outside, attempting to use the lights as a way to sneak in and rig the game.”
“Excuse me?” Husk growled, standing himself. His wings spread wide. “You're a coward.”
“No,” Angel said, finally standing and glaring at Valentino. “He's less than that. He's lower than scum, lower than the dirt in the bottom of my shoes.”
“You dare-?!” Val started to speak, but Angel slapped him HARD.
“DON’T YOU FUCKING TRY TO BLAME ME FOR THIS!” Angel screamed. “You gambled my soul away Val! I ain't yours! Get that through your blind as fuck brain!” Angel turned and ran into Husk's arms.
“Angel-san, shall I dispose of this waste of space?” Ayumu said.
“Go ham on him,” Angel said, voice dripping with venom. Husk grinned as he watched Ayumu whip out her swords.
“Husker,” Alastor said. “Why don't you take Vanilla and Angel to your office? I believe this is going to get quite messy~”
“Yeah, sure. Nills-”
“Don't worry about me,” Nills smiled. “I'm just glad Angel is home.”
“Me too, Nills,” Angel said, smiling.
“Okay, get home safe then. Angel, come on,” Husk said, guiding Angel from the room.
The minute they were out of sight, Angel stumbled to his knees, sobbing.
“H-Husk…..” he cried. Husk immediately was beside him, wrapping his wings around them both.
“I'm here,” he said. “They can't hurt you again. I promise.”
“Husk…..” Angel clung to him. Husk just held him, but his ears twitched back towards the door. Over Angel's sobs, he could hear Valentino screaming.
“Angel, I need to ask you something,” Husk said, as Angel's sobs continued. Angel looked up, trying to quell his tears.
“W-what?” he asked.
“Did Val do anything to you while you were kidnapped?” Husk asked, gently cradling Angel's face. Angel shook his head, but he looked to the side and tears continued to pour down his cheeks. “Angel?”
“N-no…..but Vox did,” Angel admitted, choking on another sob. “He….he r-r-raped me.”
“Bastard!” Husk bit out. He regretted his tone when Angel flinched, quietly shushing him. “I'm so sorry, Angel. I can't make that right, but I'm gonna make sure neither one of them can ever touch you again. And if they try, they're going to lose their hands.” That pulled a small chuckle from the spider.
“Thank you,” he whispered, hiding his face in Husk's chest. Husk hugged Angel close.
“Anything, for you.”
