Chapter 1: Binding Vows

-Satoru Gojo POV-

Where had it all gone wrong?

Could all of this have been avoided?

He heard a loud laugh, taunting him, lightning striking outside, shining brightly when thunder cracked loudly as Satoru Gojo’s vision slowly began to blur, becoming hazy and unfocused. Someone grabbed the collar of Satoru’s white shirt, hard, clicking their tongue against the roof of their mouth mockingly as they pulled Satoru upwards from where he had been slumped against the walls of the Gojo estate to look them in the eyes.

Ryomen Sukuna. The name that he had thought would be the one of his lover, his one and only, and now, it was the name of his murderer.

Sukuna’s laugh was dark and bitter as he pulled Satoru close to his face, bending down and pressing their lips together hard. This wasn’t a real kiss, Satoru thought as he felt Ryomen Sukuna’s tongue slip into his mouth. It was more like a perversion of something that was supposed to be between two people who wanted one another. All those kisses from Ryomen had been almost as disgusting as this one now that Satoru thought properly about it, but this one was probably the worst. It was almost painful and taunting and was more about showing who was in control rather than any form of want or desire or lust or, hell, love.

It was Ryomen Sukuna showing off now. Showing how Satoru had been such an idiot and rubbing it in his face. Sukuna smirked, pulling away with a harsh laugh,

“Did you really think that I would ever love someone like you? How pathetic. You were just my little whore, willing to do my dirty work, willing to whatever just for a little bit of affection. God, it repulsed me so much every single time I had to kiss you or touch you, Satoru Gojo. I had to make myself imagine someone else. At least you were a useful whore, I suppose. Thanks to you, I now have control of the kingdom, my birthright. If it hadn’t been for you, I would never have gotten that bastard, Suguru Geto, out of the way. Now all that’s left is for the poison to finish taking full effect, and I’ll finally have everything I ever wanted. My lover, my kingdom, and no fool pining over me. God, you’re so fucking stupid. See you in hell, Satoru Gojo, but seeing how we are now, I have the strangest feeling I won’t be, thankfully.”

Sukuna stood up, letting go of Satoru’s collar and letting the white haired man crumple to the ground, the light slowly fading from his vision as Ryomen Sukuna rearranged his own suit jacket, still laughing. He was saying something to that damn lover of his, Uraume, but Satoru couldn’t make out exactly what it was and

Satoru instead felt his heart slowly grow still. The two lovers left the room, leaving Satoru to meet his end alone.

Breathe in and-

The last breath that he took never came back out.

He wondered if it was more so from the shock of the betrayal that he should have seen coming or rather just the poison. Maybe it was the fact that his heart was so broken that it no longer desired to live. While his mind might fight against it, raging, wishing he could fight back, his heart had given up, giving out.

It was all over.

He had been played for a fool and now he would have died like a fool. The Gojo family died out with someone who had been played for love. His parents had been right not to trust him with the family fortune and instead give it to his distant cousin, Yuta. Satoru Gojo could not be trusted to do anything right. He had been conned by the person that he thought that he would love forever.

He’d been caught, hook, line, and sinker. Pathetic.

If he could do it all again…he would have never made the same mistakes. He would never have fallen for someone like Ryomen Sukuna. Satoru would have ended their engagement long before the events that had occurred happened. He would do anything to have a second chance to make things right. He would never have fallen for any man. Satoru Gojo would never have given up his heart if he could change all these things.

Why did he have to suffer? What had he done wrong? Why was he being punished for having loved? He had been a fool in love and he would never let such a ridiculous notion entrap his heart again. If only he could do it all again…

“Satoru.”

Satoru’s eyes shot open wide. Where was he? The room was completely black and empty. He looked around for the source of the voice but saw nothingness instead.

Was this the afterlife?

“Satoru Gojo. You say that you’ll do anything to relive your life. To make a different choice and get revenge on all those who wronged you? So be it. I’ll offer you the chance to start again and get all the things that you desire. However, if you fall in love with anyone and act upon these feelings, you will forfeit your life. Do you accept these terms?”

Satoru’s bright blue eyes widened as he continued to look around. This wasn’t possible, was it? A second chance just for the price of never falling in love with anyone again? That would be child’s play. Satoru Gojo’s heart was like ice now. He couldn’t love again.

Instead, he would fix everything this time around. He would make everything right and get his revenge against Ryomen Sukuna. This time, it was his turn to be in charge,

“I accept.”

The voice seemed to laugh softly, almost as if they knew something that Satoru didn’t which irked him slightly,

“So be it then. Make the right choices and you shall be rewarded. A wrong choice will be faced with great punishment and penance. It is your turn to be in charge, Satoru Gojo, and to make the decisions. Good luck.”

The nothingness slowly seemed to rapidly disappear as he started trying to respond, but instead Satoru found himself sitting in his childhood room. The sun was streaming through the blinds, birds singing loudly outside, the sun illuminating his room and almost making it too bright.

Satoru turned away and saw all his old books. He used to hate studying, but now, seeing them was almost like a relief.

He’d really gone back in time to his childhood room. Satoru raced to a mirror to look at himself in the reflection, studying his appearance. Bright blue eyes were reflected back at him. His hair was still the same white color. He looked almost the exact same as he had looked mere moments earlier except for the fact that the bags under his eyes were gone.

How long had those dark circles plagued him for? Years, probably since he’d fallen for Ryomen Sukuna.

Forget about Sukuna. Thinking about Ryomen Sukuna would be an absolutely terrible idea right now.

Satoru gauged his age to be about eighteen, meaning that he had gone back in time roughly ten years. He tried to remember what had happened in his eighteenth year.

This was the year that he had gotten engaged to Ryomen Sukuna.

That was his first task.

Satoru Gojo had to break off his engagement to Ryomen Sukuna.

That wouldn’t be too difficult. Ryomen Sukuna had always lusted after one of the other nobles, one of the name Uraume. Satoru had had his undercover spies dig up as much information as they could about Uraume, during Satoru’s continuous fits of jealousy, but all of them continued to go missing, meaning that Uraume wasn’t very stupid. Quite the opposite in fact.

Uraume was a known genius.

Satoru fished a notebook out of his vanity’s drawer and a pen and began writing down the little that he did know about Uraume.

Uraume was of short stature, with a short bob and gray-red hair. They had always seemed to be very faithful to Ryomen Sukuna, and the one time that Satoru had managed to corner them, all they had talked about was how amazing and lovely Ryomen Sukuna was, leaving Satoru furious, jealous, and disappointed.

Even now, the thought of this embarrassment and humiliation of his still stung.

How annoying.

Satoru hummed softly. It would also be good of him to write down the major events that had happened during his past life so that he could keep track of them. At least some of them would be useful to remember as they would probably happen again.

Around this time there had been a royal ball held. Satoru attended it in his past life, hoping to catch a few glimpses of his newly announced fiance. At that ball, that was when Satoru Gojo had fallen for Ryomen Sukuna.

Why had that ball even been hosted in the first place?

Satoru thought and thought, tapping the pen against his lips nervously. The war had recently ended, so most likely it was to celebrate Prince Suguru Geto coming home.

If Uraume had been a puzzle to Satoru Gojo, then Suguru Geto was an enigma. The prince was hardly ever seen; in Satoru’s first life, he hadn’t even bothered to attend the royal ball that had been held in his favor. From the few portraits that Satoru had seen of Suguru Geto, the prince was tall and handsome, with long dark hair, and golden eyes that seemed to almost pierce through one's soul. Many said that he rivaled the Duke, Ryomen Sukuna’s own looks, and although, back then Satoru had staunchly denied it, he’d still found the royal prince to be obscenely attractive.

However, there was one fatal flaw to the beautiful prince who otherwise would have been swarmed by people constantly. While many people enjoyed the thought of being with someone so mysterious and elusive, Suguru Geto was just too secretive. Nobody knew anything about him. He lived far away from the royal family and hardly ever went to the capital. In his few public appearances, he only wore black lace gloves and refused to let anyone touch him. People gave him a wide berth wherever he walked. If someone even looked his way, making the mistake of doing such a thing, Suguru Geto would instantly look like someone had committed a crime. (Such things were always reported in the tabloids, something Satoru had always enjoyed reading in his past life because of the positive depictions and occasional portrait of Ryomen Sukuna.) He was known to be a very skilled fighter, which would have caused almost anyone to become immensely beloved by the kingdom’s people, but because of his cold nature, he was instead known as the demon prince. To Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto almost seemed like a demon. The way that the prince was so handsome but so cold and disgusted by everyone gave him such a menacing aura.

Satoru hummed softly as he continued to write down all he could remember about the key players and events. There was so much that had happened in those ten years, and so much that he would have to avoid during this time.

Satoru smiled as he started listing off his new plan. He would start off by breaking off his engagement with Ryomen Sukuna at the ball tonight, finally getting rid of him. Then, he would convince his parents to send him away to one of their estates and hope that they would forget about him. Hopefully, if everything went according to plan, Satoru Gojo would be able to live the sweet life for the rest of his days. He’d be frolicking in an idyllic summer paradise all year long if he succeeded.

Failure was no longer an option for him.

He would succeed in this life and never rely on someone else ever again.

He, Satoru Gojo, would never fall in love again.

-Satoru Gojo POV-

The day passed by slowly. As in his past life, Satoru’s parents mostly avoided him along with the servants. In his past life, Satoru Gojo had been a known brat and trouble maker, always stirring up drama. They were all probably used to his childish antics and misbehavior. In this life…he would be different. He wouldn’t cause problems for his family. He would live a quiet and unremarkable life, one that wouldn’t be noteworthy, but at least he would live a true life.

The time for the ball rolled around and as Satoru got off of the carriage, his eyes widened. The royal castle had always been remarkably beautiful and grand, but seeing it again in this life, it felt different. Back then, his mission was different. Back then he was falling in love, meeting his fiance, and now, he was breaking up with him.

Satoru smiled softly, a sad smile as he walked into the grand palace where most of the guests had already gathered inside. The music was soft, quiet violin playing in the background while all the people there chatted with one another.

Where had Ryomen Sukuna been during this ball, Satoru mused. If he found Sukuna, then he would be able to break off their engagement and end this horrible nightmare.

He grabbed a glass of water off of one of the servers’ plates, sipping at it, as he searched for Sukuna. Satoru had never been a fan of alcohol, and the alcohol would cloud his judgment.

A head of pink hair popped up in the crowd and Satoru’s eyes widened. Was he really going to do it? He set down the glass of water and started walking towards the moving head, keeping his eyes focused on that and that alone. He brushed past the crowds of people and was almost there when a broad chest hit him and he fell to the floor hard.

Long dark hair pulled up into a bun with a small bang hanging out from it and sharp golden eyes watching Satoru.

For a moment, Satoru wanted to reach out and flick the bang, but his self-preservation instinct kicked in and his bright blue eyes widened with horror.

He had bumped into none other than his Royal Highness, the prince.

Suguru Geto.

Fuck.

Suguru Geto wasn’t supposed to be here though. In Satoru’s past life, all of the tabloids and media outlets had torn into Suguru Geto for not attending the ball that had been held in his favor, calling him ungrateful, cold, and wicked. Truth be told, this mistake of his had been exactly what had led to the prince’s downfall. After the ball, Suguru Geto continued to decline invitations, becoming more and more withdrawn, and eventually, he had been dubbed the Demon Prince.

The way that he glared at Satoru Gojo did not do anything to dispel such thoughts that Satoru was having, only striking intense fear into Satoru’s mind,

“What are you looking at?”

Satoru’s eyes widened as he stood up abruptly, bowing quickly and looking away,

“I’m so sorry, your highness.”

Satoru heard a soft snort from the prince and the prince seemed to turn away dismissively. Satoru’s face contorted with fury.

Satoru hated three things the most in his past life. The first was Uraume and the way that they had always clung to Ryomen Sukuna and how Sukuna had seemed to favor them. The second had been alcohol. He had never seen the appeal to such a thing. It only led to bad decisions and mistakes made by two fools. And the final thing was people being dismissive towards him.

Satoru grabbed one of Suguru Geto’s broad shoulders and turned the man, forcing him to look at Satoru. They were about the same height, but Suguru Geto’s dark expression made him seem larger than life. However, Satoru was undaunted. He’d dealt with so many assholes like Suguru Geto in his past life. Demon Prince, Satoru’s ass.

More like Asshole Prince.

“Why did you snort at me?”

Suguru Geto seemed to look at Satoru as if the white haired man was an idiot or crazy, which only served to further enrage Satoru Gojo,

“I snorted at you because you looked ridiculous just staring at me like that. I’m not a demon or something to be stared at so please don’t act like that.”

Satoru’s face turned redder,

“I wasn’t staring at you and I didn’t mean to fall. You bumped into me, so why don’t you watch where you’re going next time?”

Suguru Geto laughed darkly, a small grin coming across his lips as he leaned into Satoru,

“Or else what?”

Satoru was about to respond with something about shoving something where the sun didn’t shine when he felt a familiar hand on his shoulder,

“Is my fiance bothering you, Suguru Geto? He is a bit of a troublemaker.”

That charismatic laugh and the way his voice sounded brought back so many memories to Satoru.

Ryomen Sukuna was standing there with his hand on Satoru Gojo’s shoulder. A small touch, one that he had so greatly desired in his past life, one that had meant so much to him back then, was something that the great Ryomen Sukuna had always given out so easily?

Satoru cleared his throat, focusing himself on Ryomen Sukuna,

“My fiance, just the person that I was looking for.”

Sukuna laughed softly, removing his hand from Satoru,

“Oh really? Whatever is the matter?”

For a moment, Satoru swore that he felt a dark shadowy gaze fall over him, but he chose to ignore it, instead focusing on breaking off his engagement to Ryomen Sukuna. Satoru took a deep breath. He had to do it. It was the only way that he would be able to be happy in this life and live a better life.

Think about the idyllic summer paradise. Think about frolicking in fields eating sweets all day and night. Think about being far away from all these fools and all his problems,

“I want to end our engagement.”

Ryomen Sukuna’s eyes narrowed as a small grin crept across his lips,

“And what has caused you to come to this conclusion, darling? Have you taken on a lover or something else? You know I wouldn’t mind such things as long as I’m the one you’re coming home to at the end of the day.”

Satoru’s bright blue eyes widened for a moment. Ryomen had never said such lovely things to him in their past life. He’d always been cold and unfeeling, so why was he making such a fuss about breaking off their engagement now? Satoru was giving him the chance to go off and be happy with Uraume who was now lurking in a corner, staring at the scene unfolding, clearly displeased with what was happening.

Satoru took another deep breath,

“I simply do not care for you, Ryomen Sukuna, so please leave.”

Ryomen Sukuna looked anything but fazed,

“Oh but darling, I don’t think that you understand. I can’t be having my fiance breaking off his engagement with me. It’s just simply not right. It’s completely unheard of.”

Satoru scowled, looking at Ryomen Sukuna with so much hate. A few days earlier, he had loved this man so much, but now? Ryomen Sukuna was nothing to him. He hated Sukuna and the way his body felt around him, the way his heart sped up a bit around the man,

“It seems that we’ll be setting a new trend. You’ve always liked starting new things, so why don’t we try this out?”

Ryomen Sukuna made a noise of displeasure as he grabbed Satoru’s wrists and pulled the white haired man closer to him, so close that Satoru was almost touching Ryomen Sukuna’s chest. Sukuna was furious, his face dark with rage, contorting and twisting his features into something almost ugly and repulsive,

“You will not be breaking off your engagement to me. I will not entertain such foolish ideas. You are mine and mine alone, so if you have a different lover or something foolish of the sort, you can forget about it.”

Satoru scoffed looking away. The plan was going so terribly…

“He won’t be marrying you because he’ll be marrying me instead, so stop harassing my fiance unless you want to cause trouble. I have no problems with starting a war between our two territories, Ryomen, so think wisely and quickly.”

Satoru looked up, and he felt Suguru Geto’s hand on his shoulder right where Ryomen Sukuna’s hand had just been. Sukuna looked at Satoru furiously then at Suguru Geto who was still glaring at Ryomen Sukuna,

“You think it’s so easy just to take someone else’s fiance? Do you not have any shame, Suguru Geto? As the crown prince you should have some morals at least, and I doubt stealing other men’s fiances is part of that. Do you have anything to say for yourself, at least some form of a mock apology for this disgrace of yours?”

Suguru Geto seemed to laugh softly at the sight as the crowd of royals at the ball were all watching the scene unfold. Satoru groaned at the thought of how the three of them would be the subject of all these tabloids the next day, and he would have to thank Suguru Geto. What did broody mysterious princes like? Probably not sweets like Satoru,

“I have nothing to apologize for,” Suguru Geto proclaimed looking at Ryomen Sukuna with a threatening smirk. Suguru Geto seemed like a predator, ready to destroy and devour Sukuna whole, Satoru thought as he felt Suguru Geto pull him close to the prince’s own body,

“But I feel you should apologize to my fiance for bothering him.”

Satoru’s eyes widened as Ryomen Sukuna’s face turned crimson with fury,

“Why should apologize to someone who’s so willing to give themselves up? Don’t worry, Satoru, you’ll come running back to me someday, begging me to marry you. That’s just how your type is.”

Ryomen Sukuna turned to leave with a dark laugh and Satoru felt so disgusted in ever having liked someone that disgusting, but what was probably even worse was the fact that he, deep down, still wanted Ryomen Sukuna to want him. Satoru still wanted those small touches of affection and caring and kisses. He didn’t love Sukuna anymore, no his heart had been shattered far too much for such a thing. Satoru Gojo didn’t think that he could ever love anyone again the way that he had once loved Sukuna. Love was just not something he was meant for.

He refocused on the situation at hand, turning to face Suguru Geto,

“You didn’t have to help me, I could have handled Sukuna on my own. You just made a mess for yourself now.”

Suguru Geto let go of Satoru and raised an eyebrow, his voice silky and smooth, but so alluring,

“Did I now? You see, Satoru Gojo, for some strange reason, you seem to incite me to make a mess constantly. First with the fact that you bumped into me-”

Satoru scowled,

“You bumped into me first.”

The prince laughed softly, playing with his own bangs, twirling them around his finger. Satoru didn't know if he wanted to rip that finger off or be that finger more,

“We can call it that if it makes you happy, but then if it bothered you so much being seen as my fiance to Ryomen Sukuna, you should have denied it. You were complicit in this scheme, so I don’t think you should be complaining. In fact, if you insist, I’ll even take a thank you, darling.”

The words came off of his lips so easily.

This man was definitely a demon but not in the way everyone thought!

Satoru shook his head scoffing,

“We have to clear up the rumors, and fast.”

Suguru Geto seemed to smile at what Satoru said, which infuriated Satoru to absolutely no end whatsoever. This prince was an absolute jerk!

“Oh really? You’re that eager for our passionate love to continue? Sorry, but I’m not so much of a romantic.

Let’s make a deal instead.”

Chapter Text

-Suguru Geto POV-

“Red wine? I never knew you were a drinker, Satoru Gojo.”

That was the moment that Suguru Geto should have realized that something was absolutely wrong.

The white haired prince laughed softly as their glasses clinked together, and Suguru took a quick and long swig of the glass, before hearing those fatal words from the white haired man,

“I’m not.”

Suguru Geto’s eyes widened as he felt his body collapse to the ground, a loud thud resonating through the room.

Poison?

How had he been so oblivious not to notice such a thing…Suguru had always been wary of such things, but because it had been Satoru Gojo…he hadn’t expected such a terrible thing to happen. What a cruel twist of fate, wasn’t it?

The darkness had been almost so sudden, enveloping Suguru Geto in it as the poison took effect. He had been such an idiot, thinking that Satoru Gojo finally wanted to talk to him for once. After all those years of pining away, wasting away, with all his thoughts being about Satoru Gojo, at long last, Suguru Geto had thought that his greatest wish and desire had finally been granted.

However, the white haired man only had eyes for Ryomen Sukuna, that bastard. Suguru wanted to throttle Satoru Gojo, scream at him how terrible the pink haired demon was Satoru. He wished he could have saved him or protected him in this lifetime.

If he could have a second chance…Suguru Geto would have protected Satoru Gojo and made sure that he would never fall into the hands of Ryomen Sukuna like that again.

“Suguru.”

Suguru’s eyes shot open wide. Where was he? The room was completely black and empty. He looked around for the source of the voice but saw nothingness instead.

Was this Hell?

He belonged there. He was a terrible person, failing to save the one person that he had longed for all this time. Hell, Satoru Gojo had been his downfall, tricking him, using Suguru Geto’s feelings against him, and killing him with that poisoned wine.

He had known that Satoru Gojo would never look at him the way that he looked at Ryomen Sukuna, but had it been so wrong to hope that things would change one day out of nowhere? Why was it wrong for him to want, desire someone like the white haired man? Why couldn’t he win over Satoru Gojo in this life?

“Suguru Geto. You say that you’ll do anything to relive your life and to save Satoru Gojo from Ryomen Sukuna. To make a different choice and get revenge on Ryomen Sukuna? So be it. I’ll offer you the chance to start again and get all the things that you desire. However, if you are unable to save Satoru Gojo from falling for Ryomen Sukuna again, your life shall be forfeit. In this life, you must make Satoru Gojo fall for you. If you are unable to do such a thing and Satoru Gojo’s heart goes to any other, in particular, Ryomen Sukuna, you shall cease to exist as if you were never there. Do you agree with these conditions?”

Suguru swallowed nervously. A second chance. He had to take it.

This time around, Satoru Gojo would fall for him and not Ryomen Sukuna.

“I agree. I’ll do anything for a second chance. This time I will not fail.”

The disembodied voice seemed to laugh at Suguru,

“Good luck, Suguru Geto. I truly hope that you are able to succeed this time around.”

Suguru wanted to speak, but before he could, the vision seemed to disappear, almost like he was waking up from a dream. He lay in his bed, eyes wide as he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. In the reflection, it was him, but ten years younger. His hair was nowhere near as long as it had been when he had died, falling only about to right above his shoulders now. He grabbed a hair tie and put it in a high bun, the motion feeling so natural to him. He hadn’t done his hair like that in almost ten years…

He sighed softly as he looked in a journal, the one that he had kept back then. He had been good about such things, writing in it every day, making sure he would keep track of time.

As he flipped through the pages, he didn’t read his entries. It would have been too painful. He looked for the first empty page, the date already written at the top, and underneath, a note.

The ball is today.

Suguru’s eyes widened. Today was the day of the ball that celebrated his return from the war. In his past life, he had skipped the event, claiming that it was frivolous and a waste of his time. This time though, he would go. He had to see Satoru Gojo. Going to this ball would be the perfect way to introduce himself to Satoru.

In his past life, he had only admired Satoru Gojo from far away, looking at him as Suguru pined and wished to be the one by the white haired man’s side, not Ryomen Sukuna. He would cry in his room, if only he had been the one to get there first. The ball had been where Satoru Gojo and that bastard, Ryomen Sukuna had met for the first time.

Suguru had to go to that ball.

He rummaged through his closet, looking for his nicest attire to set out for the event later that day. Suguru Geto wanted to make a good first appearance to Satoru.

It was finally time for the ball, and Suguru walked around the ballroom, searching for a mop of white hair. He had always wondered if Satoru Gojo’s hair was soft or not. It always looked so nice and well taken care of, not that Suguru’s own hair wasn’t. It was just that Satoru Gojo…was different. Everything about the white haired man set Suguru’s heart on fire.

Suguru had been so distracted that he hadn’t noticed that he had bumped into someone,

“What are you looking at?”

Fuck.

Fate definitely hated him. Suguru Geto hadn’t realized it, but he had bumped into none other than Satoru Gojo. God damn it…

“I’m so sorry, your highness.”

Suguru couldn’t help himself from snorting. In his past life, Satoru had always talked back to everyone, a trait that Suguru had always found so attractive. So few people were so honest and bold like that. So why was Satoru so quick to apologize?

Suguru’s eyes widened as Satoru grabbed one of Suguru’s shoulders, Satoru’s expression dark,

“Why did you snort at me?”

Suguru Geto was most definitely not thinking anymore. He had lost any logic that he had when he felt Satoru Gojo’s hand on his shoulder. His heart was racing,

“I snorted at you because you looked ridiculous just staring at me like that. I’m not a demon or something to be stared at so please don’t act like that.”

Satoru’s lips pursed together looking furious,

“I wasn’t staring at you and I didn’t mean to fall. You bumped into me, so why don’t you watch where you’re going next time?”

Suguru Geto laughed darkly, a small grin coming across his lips as he leaned into Satoru,

“Or else what?”

Idiot.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck…

He saw that Satoru had been about to respond when Ryomen Sukuna had finally decided to make his appearance. Suguru wanted to murder him,

“Is my fiance bothering you, Suguru Geto? He is a bit of a troublemaker.”

Yep, he was definitely going to kill Ryomen Sukuna.

Satoru cleared his throat, focusing himself on Ryomen Sukuna which cause Suguru’s heart to drop for a moment,

“My fiance, just the person that I was looking for.”

Sukuna laughed softly, removing his hand from Satoru. (Good, Suguru thought.)

“Oh really? Whatever is the matter?”

Suguru watched on, glaring at the scene. What was this bullshit…Was this why the voice had laughed? Was there really no way for Suguru to win?

“I want to end our engagement.”

Ryomen Sukuna’s eyes narrowed as a small grin crept across his lips, and Suguru thought that he had gone insane with joy at that moment,

“And what has caused you to come to this conclusion, darling? Have you taken on a lover or something else? You know I wouldn’t mind such things as long as I’m the one you’re coming home to at the end of the day.”

Satoru smiled at Ryomen which caused Suguru to glare again,

“I simply do not care for you, Ryomen Sukuna, so please leave.”

Ryomen Sukuna looked anything but fazed,

“Oh but darling, I don’t think that you understand. I can’t be having my fiance breaking off his engagement with me. It’s just simply not right. It’s completely unheard of.”

“You will not be breaking off your engagement to me. I will not entertain such foolish ideas. You are mine and mine alone, so if you have a different lover or something foolish of the sort, you can forget about it.”

Satoru scoffed, looking away, and Suguru put a hand on Satoru’s shoulder,

“He won’t be marrying you because he’ll be marrying me instead, so stop harassing my fiance unless you want to cause trouble. I have no problems with starting a war between our two territories, Ryomen, so think wisely and quickly.”

Ryomen Sukuna seemed to become even more enraged,

“You think it’s so easy just to take someone else’s fiance? Do you not have any shame, Suguru Geto? As the crown prince you should have some morals at least, and I doubt stealing other men’s fiances is part of that. Do you have anything to say for yourself, at least some form of a mock apology for this disgrace of yours?”

Suguru Geto seemed to laugh softly at the sight as the crowd of royals at the ball were all watching the scene unfold. He would end this bastard.

“I have nothing to apologize for,” Suguru Geto proclaimed, looking at Ryomen Sukuna with a threatening smirk, pulling Satoru close to his body. Too close. He let the white haired man go,

“But I feel you should apologize to my fiance for bothering him.”

“Why should apologize to someone who’s so willing to give themselves up? Don’t worry, Satoru, you’ll come running back to me someday, begging me to marry you. That’s just how your type is.”

“You didn’t have to help me, I could have handled Sukuna on my own. You just made a mess for yourself now.”

Suguru Geto raised an eyebrow. This was his chance,

“Did I now? You see, Satoru Gojo, for some strange reason, you seem to incite me to make a mess constantly. First with the fact that you bumped into me-”

Satoru scowled,

“You bumped into me first.”

The prince laughed softly. He had to be calmer about this. Acting out would only scare Satoru away,

Suguru Geto seemed to smile at what Satoru said. Satoru Gojo was absolutely so adorable with that loud mouth of his.. He had to keep Satoru close to him.

“Oh really? You’re that eager for our passionate love to continue? Sorry, but I’m not so much of a romantic.

Let’s make a deal instead.”

Satoru’s eyes went wide,

“What kind of deal?”

Suguru smirked, leaning in and whispering,

“Date me."

-Satoru Gojo POV-

Satoru’s eyes widened as the words slid off of Suguru Geto’s tongue, so naturally, so smoothly, almost as if the black haired man had said something more commonplace and mundane like the time is eleven eighteen,

“What?”

Suguru Geto laughed softly, whispering in Satoru’s ear again, the hot breath making the white haired man shiver softly,

“You heard me. Enter an engagement with me, and I’ll make sure that you’ll never have to marry Ryomen Sukuna. If you ask me, I’ll make sure that you never have to see him again. After Sukuna gets married, you can end the engagement with me, and I won’t say anything. I’ll let you leave. You can have one of my estates when we break off, if your family disowns you, and I’ll make sure you can live a comfortable life.”

Satoru’s bright blue eyes widened as the dark haired man spoke so calmly. Suguru Geto, who had been so shy and quiet in Satoru’s past life, was truly a fox,

“And what do you get out of this? Why do you want to make such a deal with me when there is no obvious benefit for you? There are so many things that could go wrong with this. What if you fall for me during this? Do you really think that you’d be able to let me go if you wanted me at the end of this?”

Suguru Geto seemed to laughs softly,

“What makes you think that you won’t be the one falling for me by the end, Satoru Gojo? You need not know what sort of favor you will be doing me, but I wonder. You act so confident that this deal is a terrible idea for me, but truly, you’ll be doing me a massive favor, so tell me, what’s actually keeping you from agreeing to this?”

Satoru looked away from Suguru Geto. How dare he insinuate that he, Satoru Gojo, would ever fall for the black haired fox? Even if it weren’t for the vow that he had made, promising that he would never fall in love with anyone ever again, he couldn’t fall for the person that he had killed in his past life. There were so many things so wrong with doing such a thing. Besides, Suguru Geto was nothing like Ryomen Sukuna, so it would be easy to avoid having feelings for the prince. Did Suguru Geto think so little of him?

“Oh please, do you really think that I would fall for just anyone? Fine, I’ll agree to your deal just so I can prove you wrong. I’ll pretend to date you and be your fiance until Ryomen Sukuna is wedded to someone else, and immediately right after we will separate.”
Suguru Geto seemed to smirk, the prince’s demeanor exuding confidence as he leaned into Satoru,

“Well darling, it seems that this ball wasn’t a complete and utter waste of my time. I’ll call you back to the castle in a few days, be waiting for my letter, like a good fiance. In the meanwhile, try to stay away from Ryomen Sukuna. I don’t appreciate the way that he looks at you, especially now that you’re mine.”

Satoru’s expression darkened,

“Don’t call me that. I am not your toy or pet just waiting to be messed around with. Besides, our relationship is just one of convenience. Don’t tell me you’ve already fallen for me, Suguru Geto.”

Suguru Geto smirked and turned on his heel,

“You wish.”

Satoru lurched forward, trying to grab the asshole’s shoulder, but the prince disappeared into the crowd far too fast for Satoru to be able to make contact with Suguru Geto’s broadness. Curse that bloody prince and his filthy mouth. When had the dark haired man had time to develop this cockiness of his and that confident attitude?

In Satoru’s past life, the prince had been someone shy and hardly ever spoke to anyone outside of his family and his close friends. He had never married nor had there ever been rumors of him messing around with anyone. Suguru Geto had seemed so stoic and cold, like a statue, only there to be admired, not to be touched or to feel anything.

According to Ryomen Sukuna, in Satoru’s past life, Suguru Geto had always been infatuated with Satoru, the only time that Ryomen Sukuna had ever seemed to be jealous of someone in regard to Satoru. Satoru had always scoffed at such statements, brushing them off, saying how could someone that Satoru barely knew ever be interested in him. Hell…Ryomen Sukuna who had known Satoru rather well hadn’t even been interested in him at all whatsoever in the end. How could someone like Suguru Geto be interested in Satoru now or ever?

Not…that Satoru necessarily wanted Suguru Geto to be interested in him. It would only make things a mess. Satoru Gojo was forbidden from giving out his heart to anyone, and Suguru Geto having feelings for Satoru would only hurt them. They could be friends, close ones, but at the end of the day, that’s all they should ever be.

It was for the best for both of them. Their paths would diverge after Ryomen Sukuna wedded Uraume, and then Satoru would go far away from Suguru Geto, most likely to never see him again. At most, maybe at a ball or two, where they would be cordial, saying hello to one another and then avoiding each other the rest of the night.

Such feelings of stupid things like romance were ridiculous to even bother about.

Satoru sighed softly as he sat in the carriage on the way home, trying his hardest to not think about the encounter between him and the fox-like prince, but as he fell asleep, his dreams seemed to be filled with only golden shimmering, the color of Suguru Geto’s eyes. A wicked mouth pressing to his neck, and unmistakable yearning filling Satoru,

Desire.

“Satoru…tell me how much you want this. Tell me how badly you need me to touch you right now, and I’ll give it to you. I’ll give you whatever you want, just be mine for now.”

Satoru nods rapidly, his head bobbing, white hair flying as he’s pushed down onto the bed,

“Please…”

The carriage shook hard, waking up Satoru right as it arrived at the Gojo manor. He went up the stairs all the way to his room and laid down on his bed. What the hell was that dream that he’d been having? It had been so lewd and provocative…and with none other than Suguru Geto. Why he was doing such things with the dark haired fox like prince was beyond Satoru’s mind. It must just be the fact that he was tired and that Suguru had helped him out of a really tight spot today. That was all. Satoru was just very grateful for what Suguru had done and was touch starved and it meant nothing else. People had these kinds of dreams all the time. They didn’t mean anything.

Satoru lay down on his bed, burying his face in his pillow, groaning softly into the plush. He would sleep now and forget that such things had ever happened. Yes. This was the solution to all his problems. Everything would be dealt with the next day.

The next day came by quickly and a week passed and Satoru figured that Suguru had most likely completely forgotten about the whole incident, thankfully. He didn’t need the devilishly handsome prince meddling in his plans. He was free now. He could live his life peacefully with no annoying princes getting in his way.

It was the tenth day after the ball and when Satoru woke up, he expected the day to go by like all the others before him. He got changed and ready for the day ahead, and slowly went down the stairs to eat breakfast.

“Long time no see Satoru Gojo, don’t you think?”

Satoru’s eyes went wide. What the hell was Suguru Geto doing sitting at his breakfast table, munching on a slice of toast as if he owned the place,

“What the hell are you doing here?”

Suguru Geto scoffed, placing the toast down on the plate,

“I wanted to see my darling fiance who hasn’t been answering any of my letters.”

Satoru’s eyes widened,

“What letters?”

Suguru scoffed standing up and leaning over Satoru, the white haired man’s heart racing,

“The ones that I sent you? The four that I sent you inviting you to my castle to talk?”

Satoru shook his head,

“I never got any letters.”

Suguru seemed to make a face of disgust, looking away from Satoru,

“Tch, it’s probably one of that bastard Ryomen Sukuna’s lackeys that’s been intercepting the letters.”

Satoru’s eyes widened,

“Why would he do such a thing? I broke off my engagement to him, and besides, he never even liked me. He clearly wants Uraume instead.”

Suguru laughed softly,

“Is that what you think? People like Ryomen Sukuna would never take it lightly if someone broke off an engagement to them. It makes them look weak and Ryomen Sukuna hates weakness. He’s going to try to make your life miserable from now on.”

Satoru shook his head, standing up straight and looking Suguru in the eyes,

“Then I’ll tell him to fuck off.”

Suguru Geto scoffed,

“Right, and he’ll be so happy to hear that. Sit your ass down and do as I say.”

Satoru looked at Suguru Geto coldly,

“Why would I listen to you? We’re not even real fiances. We’re just together as means to an end. Once Ryomen Sukuna gets married to someone else, we never have to see each other again.”

Suguru Geto seemed to frown at Satoru’s words,

“You’re right, but going about such a thing like a bull in a china shop is an idiotic idea.”

Satoru laughed darkly,

“What’s your problem? I have a plan. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s a bad plan. Besides, I don’t even need you for it.”

Suguru Geto looked at Satoru coldly and the white haired man wanted to laugh. Satoru was not anywhere close to as pathetic as the prince must think he was,

“I need you so that I can get out of my own arranged marriage.”

Satoru’s eyes widened. What arranged marriage? The dark haired prince had never been set up with anyone, refusing to meet with any potential suitors. Ryomen Sukuna had said it was because Suguru Geto was in love with Satoru. Satoru had scoffed. How could someone be in love with someone they barely knew?

Suguru Geto had to be an idiot.

“With who?”

Suguru smirked and leaned in whispered,

“Why does it matter? Are you in or out?”

Satoru’s face heated up so greatly, the reaction infuriating him. Why was his body having such a strong reaction to Suguru Geto? He had killed him in their past life, and besides, Satoru wasn’t allowed to fall in love with anyone. Satoru refused to let himself die just for something foolish like a romance. What if Suguru Geto turned out to be just like Ryomen Sukuna? Satoru didn’t want to die like an idiot again.

He leaned away, looking in the opposite direction, and folded his arms across his chest,

“I don’t care.”

Suguru Geto snorted softly,

“Oh really? Then look me in the eyes and say that to my face right now.”

Satoru turned to look at Suguru Geto, those fox-like eyes locking onto Satoru’s,

“I truly don’t care…”

Satoru’s mouth suddenly went dry and his heart beat faster and faster and the world grew dark as he collapsed to the ground, hitting his head hard against the marble.

Fuck.

-Satoru Gojo Pov-

It was dark again, the cool air blowing past him, coming from everywhere. Satoru sighed softly rolling his eyes,

“What now?”

The disembodied voice scoffed,

“What now? We had an agreement.”

Satoru scoffed lying on the ground made of nothingness,

“We do have a deal. I'm not in love with Suguru Geto. If anything, he pisses me off to no end. He thinks I'm just some little spoiled whiny bratty omega prince and he's the alpha prince to come save me from the horrors. I can take care of myself.”

The disembodied voice laughed darkly,

“Oh really? I seriously doubt that, Satoru Gojo. You know for someone who was so in love with Ryomen Sukuna, so infatuated with him that you were willing to kill none other than Suguru Geto in your past life…you do move on fast. How ironic that your next suitor is none other than the man whose life you once cut short. I wonder, Satoru Gojo, do you feel any sense of shame or guilt for falling so hard and fast for this man?

Satoru Gojo's eyebrows furrowed, his lips curving with displeasure,

“I don't like Suguru Geto like that. He's just nice to spend time with and rather easy on the eyes. He's easily replaceable by many another man in high society. Besides, I know the rules of this game. I won't ever fall for someone, especially not him. He's my friend and that's it. Last I checked, there were no rules against me having friends, now were there?”

The voice seemed to pause for a moment, almost like it was trying to hold back a loud laugh or scoff and Satoru,

“There are indeed no rules against you making friends with an attractive alpha who also happens to be your betrothed. You do know you'll be expected to perform marital duties right? That will make you even more attracted and attached to him.”

Satoru laughed sharply, folding his arms across his chest. This disembodied voice was really getting on his last nerves. He knew better than to fall for anyones, especially Suguru Geto. Besides, even if he did, what kind of person would that make him? Satoru Gojo was not anywhere near that dumb.

“Yeah right. I could sleep with anyone that I found attractive, with absolutely no strings attached and me not getting hyper-focused onto them. Suguru Geto is so damn easily replacable. Hell, I could date Ieiri Shoko or Nanami Kento easily. I could be engaged with them tomorrow and still have no feelings. All these Alphas, they're all the exact same to me.

The voice snickered,

"Then let's make this interesting. Seduce Suguru Geto and spend the night with him today, and I'll grant you one minor revision to the original deal."

Satoru's interest was piqued,

"What kind of revision," He asked tentatively.

The voice seemed to laugh softly,

"Anything you want, as long as it is not a significant change to the original deal."

Satoru scoffed,

"What kind of bullshit game are you playing? I want you to change it so that there is an exception to the rule."

The voice became dark,

"And why would I do that? That would make it far too easy for you to win. You'll ask for Suguru Geto to be the exception."

Satoru smirked, glad he managed to tick the voice off,

"And why would that be a problem? Do you not want me to win? Do you not want me to live out a good life?"

The voice regained it's calmness,

"Fine then. You make a good point. Seduce Suguru Geto for tonight and I'll allow him to be your sole exception to the rules that I formerly placed."

Satoru smiled widely,

"This'll be easy."

What he did not know at that time was that,

"I-" The dark haired man whispered, "I've never done anything like this before."

Suguru Geto's face was redder than a tomato, whispering into Satoru's neck, where just moments before he'd been bitting down hard on.

What-

There was no way that Suguru Geto had never...

Satoru laughed softly,

"Does that mean you want to stop?"

Suguru's face turned even redder as he stammered softly,

"N-no. I...want to keep going."

Satoru smirked,

"Then I'll guide you as to what to do."

Notes:

if you see this please do something. i want to talk to you so damn badly but i won't make the first move. maybe i'm speaking to any empty void and you don't see these, but it's better than doing nothing. i hope you liked japan and things went well with your mother tho.

Chapter Text

-Suguru Geto POV-

His face was flushed a deep red as he pinned down Satoru. In his past life, Suguru had slept with plenty of people, but nobody he truly likes the way he craved the white haired omega. This was…completely different.

”Satoru…can I please…undo your belt?”

Satoru nodded once, face the same crimson shade that Suguru’s was.

”Please.”

The dark haired man undid the clasp deftly, pushing Satoru’s pants down to ground before getting down on his knees and putting his mouth on the white haired man’s cunt, his tongue exploring every inch while his long fingers dug into Satoru’s thighs.

The white haired man was trembling as he slowly got closer and closer to finishing, finishing with a soft whimper of Suguru’s name.

They shifted to the bed, where Satoru fiddled with Suguru’s own belt, before the rest of the clothing was shed to the ground.

He was large and uncut,

”I have… condoms in the drawer, give me a second…Satoru.”

He slid the condom on before gently pushing into the white haired man with a soft moan.

The next morning, the sun streamed through the window, waking him up. Satoru was still asleep next to him, and Suguru kissed his forehead.

Could every day be just like this? Could he stay with Satoru like this forever? This was what made life truly worth living. If only he could stay in this moment forever, he would do anything.

He closed his eyes basking in the moment, but ended up in darkness once more.

”Hmm, it truly seems that I should have made your part of the deal more difficult, Suguru Geto.”

He scoffed,

”What do you mean my part of the deal?”

The voice laughed softly,

”Oh you poor thing. You had no idea. Satoru and I also made a deal.”

Suguru’s eyes widened,

”What kind of…deal?”

The voice seemed to be laughing to itself now,

”Oh you know, bed you, and he’d get to keep his own life.”

Suguru shook his head violently,

”You’re lying. Satoru loves me. He wouldn’t just sleep with me only for that.”

The voice chuckled,

”Oh you’re so naive, Suguru Geto. Do you really think someone like Satoru would ever change feelings so easily to you from Ryomen Sukuna?”

Suguru shook his head violently,

”He loves me!”

The voice scoffed,

”Fine then, watch this.”

The darkness morphed and shifted producing none other than the white haired man in question.

Suguru rushed to the Satoru, but to no avail. The white haired man couldn’t see him at all.

”Are you happy? I seduced him. Now keep up your half of the deal.”

The voice hummed,

”It was so easy for you wasn’t it? To sleep with someone you didn’t care about at all previously. For someone you killed in your past life, for another man, no less.”

Satoru scoffed,

”That’s different.”

The voice hummed,

”How so? You did this just to save your own skin at the end of the day.”

Satoru scowled,

”I did but I truly do like him now.”

The voice spoke once again,

”But only now.”

Suguru’s face paled. Satoru had also come back from the dead?

”Suguru, reveal yourself.”

Satoru’s eyes widened as Suguru was suddenly made visible once again,

”Suguru-“

Suguru shook his head; Satoru had only slept with him to save himself?

”Don’t.”

The darkness faded, leaving them both back in that bed.

”Suguru! I can explain, just listen!”

Suguru was racing to put his clothes back on,

”Explain what? I think I know enough.”

Satoru grabbed Suguru’s shoulder,

”Please. I do love you. I only want you. They’re right, at first it was just to save myself, but now, I really do need you. I love you, Suguru Geto.”

Suguru’s eyes widened,

”I…I love you too, Satoru.”

Notes:

you mentioned that poem. that a world of dew is a world of dew and yet
and yet,
for some reason i still have feelings for you. i’m truly sorry. it seems that life does keep going but the feelings that i have still remain.
i wish to talk to you more than anything in the world but also i’ll keep respecting the distance. i had to do something because otherwise i know i would end up regretting not taking any action. i might regret doing this anyways since the odds of it going well aren’t in my favor and you’ve made it clear where i stand in your life. i don’t care. if you want to reject me, go ahead. if you don’t or somehow i managed to catch your interest, then i’ll be at the slides september 28th at let’s say eight to eight fifteen. i know you won’t see this, but i’ll still be there that day. i’ll always be there if it means having you again.

Chapter Text

-Suguru Geto POV-
The room turned black once again.

”Hah! I can’t believe it,” The voice chuckled, “You won.”

Suguru smirked,

”Of course we did. I love him more than anything.”

The voice scoffed, before the dark morphed into a bright white room and there was,

Ryomen Sukuna.

The voice laughed,

”You two fools. The two of you were never going to ever win. Your souls are mine! Ryomen! End them.”

Sukuna scoffed,

”This is boring as fuck but fine.”

A flaming arrow was launched at Satoru, but Suguru threw himself, landing in front of the white haired man.

He’d… sacrificed himself for Satoru.

The world was turning darker and darker.

When he woke up, he felt warm and comfortable,

”Satoru?”

Satoru leaned over him,

”I’m so glad you’re awake, darling.”

Satoru then detailed how he’d defeated Ryomen Sukuna, ending this cycle,

”And now, we can live together forever in peace.”

”I love you.”

”I love you too.”
