"Annalise. I'm gonna speak candidly, alright?"
Villa replied, "Yeah, please do."
"I see that you're devoting a significant amount of time and energy to how angry and betrayed you feel by what Rosie did; in his
mind he was helping you find closure in your husband's death. I've come to know him pretty well and when he says that part of the reason
was to move the two of you forward, as it were."
Annalise thought briefly and asked, "He told that to you--in that way?"
"He and I are close friends, Annalise: I'm no threat to you in THAT way. And I've referred him to another therapist. I can also assure you
that he and I don't discuss what you and I discuss."
"I believe you; I apologize for suggesting that...I get so ANGRY sometimes that my mouth gets ahead of my brain...I said to get out of my home--
that I never wanted to see him again...to stay the FUCK out of my life. I even told Captain Slade to make sure that he's not assigned to any of my
cases...I love him, Kat. SO MUCH. I haven't seen him or spoken to him, and I'm going crazy." Villa scoffed and went on "I've driven past The Lab
a dozen times...two dozen times --but I'm too chickenshit to go in and say 'I miss you; please forgive me'; I just drive away."
"That's the trauma of losing your father--and your husband. What many don't know is that trauma alters a person's DNA: the mental damage
only part of it: their quality of life--it's why you withdrew into solitude. You never expected to fall in love I'm guessing? Annalise...you're NOT
betraying Eddie. And again: I'm personally fine with it."
"Thank you, Kat. I...have some work to do."
===
"Perdoname Amor " (Forgive me My Love) Villa said the second the door to Rosewood's home opened two or three minutes
after she first knocks. He stares at her blearily, fresh from a deep sleep. "You said to stay away from you--that you never want to see
or work with me again...EVER. I've done that. SO, I was in a deep sleep," he mentions before moving to close the door.
Villa hurriedly says, "I WAS WRONG--I know that and I own that...just...please don't send me away without hearing me out."
He pinches the bridge of his nose between two big fingers, sighs, and steps back. "Come in."
She accepted a bottle of beer, and they stood on opposite sides of the island. "So," she began somewhat nervously, "I should not have
have said any of that: that you should stay out of my life, stay away from me in general - that I never wanted to see you again...I'm sorry
when things seemed 'off' with his health. I transferred that guilt and shame on you because...because somehow I thought that you're look-
ing into his death would prove my guilt - and cloud your opinion of me negatively. Probably that sounds stupid to you."
"Thanks for that, Lisse. I confess that I nearly ignored your wishes and contacted you anyway. Because"-
Villa said, "Say it, Rosie. 'Because ' "?-
"Because I love you."
"I love you, too. I think...I think another reason that I tried to push you away is that I buried Eddie a little over a year ago and...
I was so scared about your heart and what...that could mean...you understand?"

Haily Upton decided to consult a counselor before making a final decision on whether to file for divorce against her absent husband.
At 345 the following Tuesday after her decision yje detective found herself seated in the office of Dr. Landry De La Cruz, PhD. Landry started
with "Exactly how much thought have given to ending your marriage, Mrs. Halstead?"
"Please, Hailey's fine. He's been gone nearly a year and...and I don't hear from him for WEEKS, sometimes and I've kinda had it."
Scribbling notes, Landry asked "You've 'kinda had it'? Can you clarify?"
"I married him because I haven't ever loved another man as I do him...but I also didn't marry him to be BY MYSELF. I know that he loves
me just as much. The petition I sent him was more to get his attention than anything...either he comes home or we're done."
"This was not an idle threat, or..."
Meeting Landry's eyes Hailey replied firmly: It is not." They agreed that Hailey would keep Dr. De La Cruz updated.
Sgt. Hank Voight had only minutes before issued directions to his team (Hailey and Patrol Officer Rosado and have the task of
'door-knocks'); after their sixth door they crossed the street and Rosado stopped short and caught her companion by the arm: "Uh--
DETECTIVE...is that--is that your HUSBAND?!" Hailey's eyes followed the woman's pointing finger and gasped aloud...it IS JAY...but HOW !...
"Rosado: do you mind waiting for me over by the rusted-out van...I need a minute." Jay unfolded his arm when she approached, pushing
away from the tree he leaned against. "I came straight here," he explained. "From the airport." He waved a folded sheet of paper he held.
"I needed to get your attention," Hailey shrugged. "I got it, it seems."
Jay nodded and said "You're highly pissed and confused--I know --but know there is a very good reason for my lack of
communication. BELIEVE ME, Hails; PLEASE."
Relenting, his wife responded, "See you at home after shift?"
