deep upon his peerless eyes

Summary:

"The past is never truly buried; it lurks in the shadows, waiting for the moment to resurface.”

Yoon Chan had always been indulged by his brother; anything he desired seemed to fall into his hands effortlessly. His whims turned into reality, and possessions became his with a mere touch.

But what happens when his marriage is abruptly arranged with someone dangerous? Choi Seungcheol—a man whose mere command sends shivers down the spine.

This isn’t merely about a spoiled brat and his tamer. It’s full of secrets, dark and hidden, that someone desperately wants to keep buried. But someone??

Chapter Text

A voice said, Look me in the stars
And tell me truly, men of earth,
If all the soul-and-body scars
It was not too much to pay for birth.

Today's morning was too quiet for Yoon Mansion. As always, direct rays of sun were falling in every room of the mansion through their large windows.

Miny baby birds were playing around the garden, flying over the group of lovely flowers that Chan himself planted when he was in preschool with the help of his mother, making chirping noises that were echoing throughout the place. Surely it was very peaceful, unlike some other days.

But all of a sudden, like a normal drama, the whole peaceful atmosphere was ruined by a clashing sound that clearly came from the dining room, creating chaos in the whole house.

There is no doubt that looking in the dining room will make a normal person think that thousands of animals were released in numbers to create turmoil in this room.

Plates and glasses were scattered all over the place, with the food making a full mess on the floor. The whole site was a disaster for someone to view. That was the case for an ordinary human, but it was too usual and common for Yoon Mansion.

One old lady was kneeling on the floor with her hand behind her back and her head down, looking at the floor with tears rolling down her face as her eyes were red from crying. Her whole body was shaking in fear as she knew what was coming her way.

“Why did you add something to my breakfast when you knew that i got rashes from them, you old hag? Didn't you get directions from the main staff, huh?” said by a person who was known as the Young Master in a Yoon mansion. Yes, that's right, its Yoon Chan, the youngest son of Mr. Yoon, who was the owner of the house.

Chan was glaring at her with his keen eyes, which were no less than any razor-edged knife and surely held the capacity to make the old lady figure tremble in terror in front of his gaze.

Something was different this time, as he had a reason to be this irritated today, unlike other days.

Chan was 6 years old when he got rashes on his body. He just came from the garden after playing with his dear cousins, eating peanuts sideways, and it was then that they learned about his allergy, which made him be admitted to the hospital for 2 months with rashes on his whole body. From then on, no one was allowed to bring them into this mansion.

'Young master, forgive me; I am new to the staff, and I heard someone say that you like them, Believe me.' The old lady cried while shaking her head desperately, making Chan squint his eyes while shaking his head unpleasantly.

“Stop shouting loudly, lady; you are making my ears bleed while speaking with your nasty mouth.” roared by Chan as he raised his eyebrow while looking down at her.

“And you know what it is so pathetic to see? It’s watching you make so many excuses to protect yourself. So you are saying that the whole staff was part of it? Poor lady, you want everyone to be punished with you; thats so pitiful. As you see, I am a very generous person. I will fulfill your wish then.”' Chan was nodding as he was thinking something.

His fingers were tapping his chin, and the other hand was on his waist while having a sarcastic smile on his face as his eyes were shining with a crazy gleam with a little bit of disgust on his face.

'EVERYONE KNEEL ON THE FLOOR WITH YOUR HEADS DOWN.' And with his one command, every maid in the room kneeled down on the floor beside that lady, making a long chain with their heads down. He was undoubtedly pleased to see them at his mercy, as his face was decorated with a smug.

He slowly walked toward the table with his hands behind his back as he slowly held the whole jug of water and splashed it on the lady's face with his whole might, making her clothes wet and her body shiver because of the cold water.

Chan smiled after seeing her shudder while looking down as he slowly put two fingers under her chin, making her tilt her neck awkwardly as her eyes were directly facing Chan's, and that was surely not a good thing for her.

Chan was self-satisfied to see his own creation as he let out pleased sigh while looking at her face. Her face was flushed with red, and her eyes were bloody from crying.

'Let me see your face, poor lady. You are looking so despicable like this.' His face was enhanced with a pretty smile, but it quickly turned into an unexpressive one after he saw her trying to get away from him, making him grab her neck forcefully with a glare. He was going to lift his other hand to slap her.

His hand was stopped midway, with one hand on his wrist that held them tightly.
“Now who the fuck is this?”

“Hyung?” He turned around to see that it was Jihoon Hyung who grabbed his hand, making him shut his mouth with a visible gulp and quickly get away from that lady, making her sign in relief.

'What is happening here, and why are they kneeling down here?” asked Jihoon while looking at Chan with a raised eyebrow as his face was tilted sideways.

'Hyung, these maids were going to make me eat these peanuts when they knew that I would get rashes after eating them,' he whined with a pout on his face to one of his favorites, making Jihoon shake his head while looking at his younger brother as he knew that this lady was new in the house and was not informed about Chan’s allergy.

'Its enough now; everyone, get up and go do your work.' commanded by Jihoon, and upon hearing that, Chan squinted his eyebrow with a disappointment clearly visible on his face as he was unsettled by his Hyung action. He saw all the maids get up slowly and make their way out of the room.

'But Hyung, i want to punish them all for their mistake, Father always say that someone who makes a mistake deserves to be punished in the most brutal way.' Chan's eyes had the same crazy glint from before while having a pretty smile on his face as his eyes were glaring at the floor, perhaps making a big hole in the floor.

Maybe his face doesn't show it, but he was undoubtedly unhappy with his Hyung. Jihoon knows his brother well; he is absolutely not going to let those maids go without getting satisfied.

Sometimes Jihoon wondered that he was his same younger brother, who always gets excited after seeing some butterflies flying around their garden when he was a kid, but that's what their own father made him into—an emotionless puppet who was born to satisfy his father's dream and madness.

How can this gorgeous and innocent face say the most dangerous thing with a cute and pretty smile? Thinking about this always makes Jihoon shiver in disbelief, but he knew what made Chan’s like this, as he couldn’t blame Chan for it; only one person was to blame, and that’s their father.

Jihoon tried to draw his attention to something else, as he knew he wouldn't be able to control his brother's action, as only one person in this world can control their brother's madness—his elder brother, Yoon Jeonghan.

The only person other than Jihoon whom he adores and respects, and someone who he absolutely doesn't want to dissatisfy with his actions. Someone who always fulfills his wishes. Even if he says that he wants to get the whole building for no reason, his brother will buy it without even questioning him, even if it doesn't even make sense. He would rather die than displease his older brother, and maybe that's the reason for his spoiled personality?

“Chan, after your collage, we are going to company dinner, and Jeonghan Hyung's friends and business partner will be there, so you better behave and not make a scene there; today’s event is important for your brother and even for our father.' announced Jihoon as he saw Chan change his facial expression into an excited one, making Jihoon smile and happy to see a delighted expression on his brother's face after so many days.

'Really? Are Seokmin Hyung and Joshua Huang going to be there too?' asked Chan, making Jihoon pat his head while nodding.

Seokmin and Joshua were his Jeonghan Hyung boyfriends. Maybe there relationship was based on business deals that were decided by their fathers to make their company into a bigger unit and not the ideal relationship that most people want in their lives, but Chan was attached to both of them as they also didn't leave the opportunity to spoil him and treat him like their own little brother.

Even Jihoon Hyung was in a relationship, which was again determined by their father, but he has never once met him, as Jihoon never talks about him in front of Chan.

“Yes, they will be their too, but you are also going to meet new people that you didn't meet before, so be nice to everyone and not create problems for your Hyung's, okay, my little one?”

His question made Chan nod, as maybe he would try not to cause trouble for his brother.

But that is absolutely not possible for our great Chan.

Our Chan was a little hopeless in this case, as 'trouble' never leaves his site, maybe because it's the only best friend he has.

……..

Chan was sitting in the back seat of his car with his backpack thrown beside him as his driver was driving him to his college.

He was wearing an oversized, large scarlet button-up with black pants that were tightly hugging his thighs, making him more appealing than he already was, and a silver-chained bracelet on his wrist, adding to his elegance.

He was leaning on the window as his gaze was fixed on the people who were looking like moving creatures that were busy in their own lives.

He was staring at them in complete silence.

The passing air was caressing his face in the moving car, as his curls were slightly disturbing the view of his eyes as they were being stroked by his own hair.

He instantly got into the sitting position, with one hand resting on the window and the other grasping the leather of the seat tightly as something suddenly caught his eye.

He started to gape toward one shop, which was surrounded by numerous alluring flowers.

"Stop”

He suddenly utters slowly, which caught the driver completely off-guard, making him stop the car quickly. Chan opened the gate and came out of the car at a slow pace.

He started to stroll toward the shop and stopped in front of one flower that was known by the name of an orchid. He started to fiddle with the flower, fondling it smoothly with his soft, pale fingers.

His fingers suddenly stopped when he heard the voice of a woman who had just come out of the store with a smile on her face.

“Young boy, do you want them? They are not that expensive.”

He gently nodded at her and started to shove his one hand in his pants pocket, picking out a card that he was going to hand to her.

“Young boy, we don't accept payment by card; do you have a note?”

He was going to say something but suddenly saw one hand holding money beside him as his figure got towered by a tall person, stopping the rays of sunlight that were coming from behind his back and forming a shadow on the floor just in front of him.

He turned around to see a boy who was smiling at him as he swiftly gave the money to that lady, grabbed the orchids at a fast pace, and handed them to him. He slowly leaned toward him and said, with a wink.

“No need to thank me, pretty boy. It’s my pleasure to buy some flowers for a gorgeous one.”

Chan just stared at him with his widened eyes and some amusement, decorating his face, as the first time in his life he saw someone that weird.

As he knew he wouldn't be able to make conversation with this rocket-speed boy, his eyes started to follow the ID card that was hanging on the boy's neck.

He started to read the sentence on that card as he squinted his eyes when he got to know that they both studied at the same college, not just the same college; even their classes are the same. He was going to read more, but the other part that had his name was hidden because of his black leather jacket.

He stared at the boy with uncertainity, as he had never seen someone like that in his class; maybe he never cared to do so.

“You-” Chan was going to ask about him but got his sentence cut in between as that boy started to babble hurriedly.

"Sorry, pretty boy, but I am in a hurry right now. Next time, I will surely not forget to ask for your number. Bye, gorgeous.”

“Oh yes, I forgot to tell you my name. It’s Lee Minghao. Bye sweety.”

After telling his name, he ran toward his own car, opening its door while waving at him.

Chan couldn't do anything but stare at that boy while grabbing his orchid as that car started to move in his college direction.

He suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder as he turned around to see his own driver staring at him with confusion in his eyes.

“Young master, we are getting late for your collage.”

“Hmm,Let’s go.” Chan said as he followed his driver to his own car and sat down inside after the door was opened by his driver.

His driver started the car and started to drive toward his college, but Chan's mind was still stuck on that strange boy's behaviour.

“What a weird person!” He said this in a whisper while he placed his flower in his backpack after throwing all the books on the seat beside him, which were settled inside, so that his orchids wouldn’t be ruined because of less space.

His car reached the college gate in no time. They were welcomed by the security guard, who opened the gate for them immediately after they saw a black car with Yoon Family written on it, even when the college entering time was already over.

The car was turned toward parking lot, where his driver always park their car as it was specially designed for him only. His driver was going to park the car but was suddenly stopped as he heard his driver say,

“Young master, someone already parked their car here.”

“What the fuck? Now who the fuck has the guts to do so?” Chan’s said it with a huff when his driver got out to open his gate as he came out of his car and walked toward the red car that was placed in his space with the driver strolling behind him.

“Of course it’s that Choi dog. That crazy bitch."

His murderous glare was fixed on the tagname, which was attached to the bottom of the car, as he smirked while thinking something not so pure.

He grabbed the diamond necklace, which he wrapped loosely around his neck. It was a knife-shaped necklace with sharp-edged corners and was given to him by his father on his birthday.

He looked at it blankly for some time, then pointed the sharp part of the necklace toward the car and started to scrape it slowly, writing something on it. The whole parking lot was echoing with the loud, itching sound.

After he was done, he started to look at his creation with his lovely gaze and a pretty smile as he slowly stroked the written part with his fingers.

‘You are more disappointing than an unsalted pretzel’ was written on the red car. The sentence was delivered with a drawn middle finger and a little smiley emoji.

“She will definitely like it.” He said it with a smile on his face.

“Go and delete today’s recording of the parking lot; everyone will know it was me, but still, its not good to leave proof behind and go tell the security guard to shift this garbage to somewhere else and park our car here.” He told his driver as he picked up his bag from his car and started to walk toward the entrance of his college.

“both of the things are fucking garbage.....” He said it with a huff while throwing that diamond necklace in a nearby garbage bin as he walked at a slow pace, not caring about his class that had already started ten minutes ago.

Chapter 2: Solace before storm

Summary:

Chan is getting solace from a newcomer before the fury he is going to feel in the future.

Notes:

The poem in this chapter is "The Calm Before the Storm."

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

A quiet tension, a sense of unease,
The calm before the storm took a moment to freeze.
Then thunder rumbles, lightning strikes brightly,
The tempest unleashed a fearsome sight.
Rain pours down in a relentless pour.
The calm is shattered, the storm's fierce uproar.

Chan was striding in the empty hallway of his college, humming his favorite song that was blooming throughout the place while making his way toward his class. It was too quiet because no one was there, as everyone was in their respective classes. Chan's humming was the only sound echoing there.

“In the dead of night, the shadows come alive,
Whispers in the dark, where fears thrive.
A blood-stained moon, a sinister glow,
In the realm of nightmares, where horrors grow.”

Chan’s reached in front of his class as he slammed the door open in a swift motion, creating the loud banging sound that startled students who were sitting inside, listening to the professor's nonsensical.

There was a complete silence in the class before, but now it was undoubtedly destroyed by him as he saw his female professor glaring at him with her intense eyes, making Chan raise his eyebrow at her.

“You are late again, Mr. Chan.”

“So? Are you going to complain to the principal or what? If you are going there, tell him to replace our last class of yours with PA because we don't want to listen to your shit.” said Chan in an annoyed tone as he started to walk toward his seat, which was situated at the back of the class, because, why not?

As he was walking toward his seat, he suddenly saw one leg in front of him and the person he hated the most—Choi Soojin. This unwanted human is someone he doesn’t even give a fuck about, but still, she always tries to get on his nerves at every chance she gets.

“Of course, this bitch wants attention,” he whispered as he started to hum slowly. He stepped on her foot with all his might while walking, making her hiss.

After reaching for his seat, he sat down while gently placing his bag on the table, maybe because he still hadn't forgotten about his orchid.

“Nevermind” said the professor as she continued teaching.

The moment she finished her first sentence, they heard a knock on the door.

“Not again,” he heard his professor say.

He didn't look at the door, as all his focus was outside of the window, looking at the mother bird in complete silence that was feeding her children on the nest that was placed on the tree planted just beside their room.

“Omg He is so hot.”
“Who is he? He looks rich.”
“Stop you whores. Don't you have another job beside thirsting for every single student?”
“Shut the fuck, Mrs nerd, Your cheeks are red too. You thick-skinned bitch.”

He suddenly started to hear whispers from the students who were sitting near him, but he absolutely ignored them.

“Ah yes, I forgot to tell you. Today, a new student is going to join us. Come inside, Mr. Lee.”

Chan was still looking at those birds while ignoring his surroundings, as he finds everything boring except that.

“Hello everyone, I am Lee Minghao; please take care of me well.”

He turned his head in the direction of the new student when he heard that name. He widened his eyes when he saw the same rocket boy.

That boy was looking in his direction too and making unwanted eye contact with him, but it was broken when that rocket boy winked toward him as he looked in the other direction with a huff. Not forgetting rolling his eyes as he did that.

—---------------------------------------

“Mr. Lee, you can decide wherever you want to sit.”

“Beside that boy.” he said while pointing his finger toward me , making everyone gasp as I saw that boy squint his eyes while standing up.

I was taken aback when he pointed toward me when that old lady asked him to choose his seat, making me stand from my seat.

But she cut me off, making me more angry as i sat back while rolling my eyes, not forgetting to whisper,

“This crazy,bitch.”

I saw that rocket-speed boy coming toward my direction as I put my bag beside me to stop him while glaring at him, making him chuckle. Chuckle? What the fuck?

H was going to sit on my bag as I picked it up quickly from that seat while staring at him strangely.

“Is he crazy?” I thought as he sat beside me.

“Don’t call me that; it’s Yoon Chan.” I said it in an annoyed tone, as I was tired of hearing that again and again.

“Why? Can't I admire someone?”

“Go and admire someone else,” I said with a sarcastic smile.

“In this whole class, I only find you worthy to admire.” He said that, making me more annoyed than I already was.

"God, you are so annoying.” I said with a huff as I looked in another direction, ignoring his babbling.

—------------------

The teacher finished her lecture as I saw everyone packing their bags except me, as I didn't have anything to pack. I was just staring outside the window as the idiot beside me didn't leave any chance to annoy me.
I saw him stand up from his seat while picking up his bag and holding it on his shoulders as he leaned toward me.

"Bye, fluff doll, let's meet in the cafeteria to eat together,” he said with a smile, making me cringe at him.

I saw him getting out of the door while he waved at me to follow him.

“Like hell, I will do that.” Chan said while rolling his eyes at that rocket boy, but he still picked up his bag, making his way out of the class.

------------

The moment Chan entered the cafeteria, he was welcomed by the smell of the food and the chatter of all the students. Everyone was seated with their group of friends and was having discussions among themselves. Chan really hates to hear these students talking so loudly, making his ears bleed.

Chan's eyes scanned his surroundings, finding empty space for himself, as he liked to sit alone.
Every table was taken by three to four students. Every day he has one table to occupy by himself, but today he found that rocket-speed boy sitting alone on an empty table that was left for Chan only.

He walked toward that table and stood in front of that boy while staring blankly at him.

“Leave. Go sit somewhere else.” Chan said in an annoyed tone as he saw that rocket-speed boy, raising his eyebrow at him.

“Why? Can’t we sit together? Every seat is taken.” Chan cringed when he heard that boy talking with his whinny tone.

“No, I don't want to sit with you. Go sit somewhere else.”

“Bu-” Minghao was going to pursue Chan but was cut off by the person who claimed first place on the Chan ‘fuck you’ list.

"Oh, come on, Chan, let that hot boy sit with you; maybe he is desperate to have a chance with a lone wolf.” Chan heard what Choi Dog was saying while laughing with her friends, making him let out his own soul outside of his own body.

“Mind your own fucking business, you fucked face bitch.” He said this while having pure disgust on his face.

"Oh, pretty boy, He doesn't want you to sit with him. If you want, you can sit with us instead of that lonely boy. We don't mind having you with us.” Choi Soojin said with her fake smile while blinking those artificial eyelashes on Minghao, making Chan shiver in his place as he had goosebumps all over his body after listening to that voice.

Chan saw Minghao puppy eyes that were looking at him to something weird as he looked blankly at Choi Soojin.

“No, I am going to sit with him only.” Minghao said in an annoyed tone as he again turned to Chan with his pleading eyes.

“Fine,” Chan huffed while rolling his eyes as he looked at Soojin with a raised eyebrow and a sarcastic smile on his pretty face, making her squint her eyes at him.

He sat down on his chair as someone brought his food from the counter, placing it in front of him. Yes, you are right; he doesn't have to stand in line like other students. His food is transferred to him by someone appointed by his brother.

He was just sitting there, staring at the food blankly, as he heard rocket boy say,

“Are you not going to eat, or are you just going to fill your tummy by only staring at it?”

“If I eat or not, its my business so i will take care of it. You should just focus on yourself.”

"Hey, don't be rude; I was just asking, and don’t forget I helped you in the morning. How can you talk to me like that? Yahhhh, you rood, brat.” Minghao said with a pout on his face as he widened his eyes dramatically while holding his chest, like his chest was getting crushed by something heavy.

Chan just stared at that boy with horror on his face as he took note to not forget to add dramatic to the name he gave to Minghao before.

‘Rocket-speed dramatic boy’ is it ? Chan thought while shaking his head at him.

“ Of course he is not going to eat that, as our young master only eats what his father gives him to eat.”

When Chan heard that girl speaking, smashing her face on that table was the only thought that came to his mind. He was going to stand up, but was stopped by Minghao, who pulled him back. He looked into Minghao's eyes as he shook his head, messaging him to control his anger with his eyes. He yanked his hand while sitting back in his place, and he ignored those bitchy words.

"Wow, he is not doing anything today. Is our young master controlling his anger or what?” He heard her provoking him again as he just looked at his own food while closing his eyes and taking a long, deep breath. Chan just wants to smash his own head on the table after listening to that voice.

"Soojin, did you listen to those things about him?”

“What? Tell me, I am ready for anything that includes him and his pathetic life.”

“He got hit by his father when he declared himself gay. He has marks all over his back, as someone took a photo of him when he was changing for his match in the locker room.” He heard Ryujin say it while laughing.

“Do you really have that much time to poke your nose in other people's business, Ryujin? Don't tell me you are really that desperate.” Chan said in anger while glaring at her.

“Don't be angry, Dada Boy; it's not that serious. Your brother is also gay, right? and have tw-”

Soojin sentence was cut off by a loud sound that was created by Chan as he put his drinking glass with a thudd sound, making everyone go silent. He grabbed his plate, which was full of food that he didn't eat, as he stood up from his seat, and this time Minghao also didn't stop him because she really said something that she shouldn't.

Chan slowly strolled toward her while his boots were creating noise while walking, as it was the only sound heard in the whole cafeteria.

He stood in front of her while just staring blankly at them, making each of their bodies shiver.

He slowly set the side of the plate on Soojin's neck with force as the corner of the plate was pointed toward her neck, making her lean backward. As he slowly leaned toward her and whispered,

“Care to repeat what you said just now?” He emphasized every single word to her slowly, in a whisper.

"Wha-t!” Soojin shuddered as she wanted to gulp but couldn't as the sharp part of the plate was placed on her neck, making Chan smile warmly at her.

“So many times I told you not to bring my brother into our mess, huh? Did’nt I? But still, you don't listen to my word, Soojin-ah. Look how tired I am of you.” Chan slowly spoke to her while having a lovely smile on his face, making everyone shocked by his action.

"Now, what should I do to you?” He asked her while pouting while talking with her in his soft tone.

“What are you doing ? I will complain about it to my father; leave me.” Soojin said as she tried to act brave in front of him, making Chan chuckle at her.

"Soojin-ah, don't complain about this to your father, please. He will tell this to my father, and I am so scared of him.” Chan said with a pout as he showed his puppy eyes to her. But his eyes suddenly turned into something different, as they held a weird blankness in them as the atmosphere of the cafeteria turned into an icy one. His eyes held more power than before. He slowly pushed his plate more deeply into her, nearly digging it into her flesh, making her body sweat as one drop of sweat slipped from her forehead.

"Sweety, I really don't give a fuck about it. Go cry about it to your father or your whatever mafia oppas. I am not scared of them.”

He suddenly softened the grip that he held on that plate, making it tilt as all the food slipped on the Soojing dress, making her widen her eyes as she tried to get up from her seat, but Chan didn't let her because he again tightened his grip on the plate, making her sit forcefully back on her seat.

"Ah, Soojin-ah, I really didn't mean to do this, but as you see, my hand mistakenly slipped. I really hope you wouldn't mind it.”

He said as he retreated his hand that was holding the plate as he put that on the table and picked up the tissue paper that was lying on the table. He tightly grabbed Soojin's jaw as he pushed the tissue paper into her mouth while smiling gently at her.

“Don’t do this again, Soojin-ah. Take this advice as a friend, okay, darling?” He softly patted her cheek but his hand was yanked by her as she spitted the tissue paper from her mouth, shouting,

“What the fuck? Yo-”

She didn't get to complete her sentence as Chan walked to his seat as he watched Minghao just staring at him with his widening eyes. Chan just picked up his bag as he hung it on his shoulder. He turned around and walked out of the cafeteria with an expressionless face, as his eyes were just blank.

—-----------------------------

Chan pushed the door open on the terrace as he walked toward the edge. He kept his bag on the floor and sat beside it.

He was looking at the view absently. He slowly opened the chain of his bag and pulled out the orchid as his finger started to fondle with it. For a whole 5 minutes, he just stared at it while caressing it with his soft fingers until one drop of tears slid from his cheeks to the petal of the orchid. He slowly touched his cheeks and noticed he was crying.

“Mom, you said whenever I feel down in the future, these orchids can give me comfort when you are not with me, but why am I not feeling anything?” He whispered while wiping his cheeks with his palm.

“Come back to me, mom; you said you would never leave my side, but you did.” He said this while staring at those flowers.

—-----------------

Flashback-

It was a period between noon and sunset. The whole park was filled with children who were playing with each other.

One small child was sitting with his mother as he tried to build a small house with some sand. His small hands were holding the toy tool as he started collecting sand in it.

He tried to make the house again and again but failed every time as he looked toward his mother with his bambi eyes filled with tears.

“Mmaaa, cawnt makwe it; can you hewlp mew? Please.” He said it with a pout as he tried to make his sentence understandable to his mother as he emphrased each word with his baby tone while grabbing his mother's hand with his soft hand.

“Chan-ah, I can help you now, but what will you do when I am not there beside you, huh? His mother said in the tone that it was no less than any sweet drip of honey.

“Awre you going somewhere, mmaaaa? He said it with a pout as he tightly gripped his mom's clothes.

"No, I am not going anywhere, my lovely boy. Mom will always be there for you. Even if I am not there, you can think about me while staring at these orchids.” She said this while handling those flowers in his hand as she tried to make him grip them with her own hand.

She sat on her knees in front of him as she held his cheeks while looking at him.

“Chan-ah, these orchids held meanings of love and comfort. Whenever you feel down in the future, just caress them and think about me. I am sure you will be able to find comfort in them.”

Chan just listened to her while giving small nods to his mother, even when he didn't understand what she was trying to say to him. But now he has learned the meaning of those words while growing up.

Flashback ends
—---------------------------

Chan was just lost in his own thoughts, as he didn't hear when Minghao opened the door as he entered the terrace.

He suddenly felt someone's presence beside him as he turned his head to see Minghao sitting with him. He turned his head again toward those orchids when Minghao smiled his way.

“Are these flowers that precious to you?”

“Shut up,” Chan said as he heard him chuckling at him.

“Are those things true? I mean, your father.” His sentence was cut off by Chan.

“No, he doesn't even care about me being gay; those marks were because of something else.”

“Huh?” He heard Minghao say it in confusion as Chan leaned toward him and whispered.

“It’s because I killed my own cat.” Chan whispered as he started laughing after completing his sentence, making Minghao gulp in doubt.

"Yahh, pabo, I am joking. You rocket-speed dramatic boy, let's go; our math class is going to start soon.” Chan said while winking toward Minghao's direction as he saw him smiling awkwardly, making Chan chuckle.

Chan picks up his own bag as he holds Minghao's hand in the other one while standing up and pulling him inside, both running toward the class while smiling.

“Maybe it won’t be that bad to have one friend.” Chan thought as he looked toward Minghao.

Chapter 3: Echoes of abuse

Summary:

This chapter can be summarized with only two sentences:

1. Silent screams echo, trapped within the walls of abuse's shadow.

2. In the depths of desire, the soul ignites like a fervent fire.

In conclusion, why is everyone horny today?

Notes:

This chapter is the longest I posted, and maybe it will be the longest in the whole story.

Chapter Text

The heart, once pure but now stained with dread,
By words and fists, it has been misled.
A soul once free, now chained in despair,
Longing for love, but met with a glare.

Chan entered the class with Minghao trailing behind him as they noticed the teacher still wasn't in the class. They walked toward their bench and sat down on their seats. After some time, the math professor entered the class and started to give them assignments that they had to complete in an hour.

The whole class became silent; the noise of teacher boots and students sighs was the only sound that was echoing throughout the whole classroom.

Chan was just tapping his pen instead of solving them, as math is one of his worst enemies. If math were a human, then it may take first place on Chan's ‘Fuck You’ list, definitely replacing Choi Soojin.

Minghao noticed Chan as he hit his shoulder with his pen, making Chan look at him with an annoyed face. Minghao ignored the looks that Chan was giving him; instead, he himself gave Chan a look that was clearly indicating: ‘Bitch, stop wasting your time on tapping your pen and solve your assignment.’

Chan just showed his tongue to Minghao while rolling his eyes, making Minghao pinch his shoulder gently as both started to focus on their work after getting a warning from their teacher.

One hour had already passed as the teacher started to take every student's paper while snatching some who weren't giving them to her.

Minghao completed his assignment, shaking his head as he saw Chan's question paper being even more white than milk.

After giving their paper to their teacher, Minghao suddenly said,

“Yahhhh, why didn't you do anything?”

“Because I hate math, bruh.” Chan said as he squinted his eyes at Minghao.

"Okay, then let's make a deal.”

“What?” Chan asked while raising his eyebrow at Minghao in confusion.

“So the deal is, you will let me sit with you, and I will help you with math. What do you say?”

“Fine,” Chan said, knowing he really needed help in math because his father would surely kill him if he didn't score well in it.

Minghao smiled at him as he was going to say something, but suddenly someone came into class, interrupting them.

“Yoon Chan, Your father is in the principal's room; they are calling for you.”

Chan was just frozen in his seat when he heard his father's name. He knew he would soon be in trouble with his father, but he didn't think it would be that early. He looked at Soonjin's seat as he saw she wasn't there, making him just blankly stare in that way.

“Of course this bitch.” He thought as he looked in Minghao's direction with a smile on his face, assuring him that he would be fine.

‘“Don't wait for me; I will directly go home.” Chan said as he stood up from his seat, picked up his bag, and followed that girl while waving at Minghao.

—----------------

I was standing in front of the principle cabin as that girl excused herself after leaving me in this hell. My heart was pounding, and I felt my own fame trembling. I took a long, deep breath, opened the door slowly with my shaky hands, and peeped inside. The first thing I saw was that bitch crying in front of my father. I saw the principle sitting beside my father while maintaining good distance between them, staring at him in panic, which was clearly showing on his face. You are right; he also fears my father, as money and power speak louder than any words.

‘Yoon Chan, do you accept your mistake or not?” My father said it in a vacant tone while looking at me without blinking, and yes, it did make me shudder, but I couldn't care less. “She started it first; I didn't do anything. Its her fault.” I said it with no fear in my eyes while eyeing that fucked-faced, dramatic bitch.

I gulped as I saw my father's eyes turn into ferocious ones, but I was too stubborn to back off from this argument as he stared at the principle, who understood what he was trying to say. I noticed the principle standing up from his seat as he glanced at Soojin, indicating that she should follow him.

After they were both outside of the door, I strolled toward the door and locked it. I gulped because of the sudden stillness in the room. I turned toward my father, and I saw him sitting on the sofa while gazing at me. I know what that stare means, clearly telling me that I have two options in front of me. The first is to apologize to him for talking back, and the second is to kneel in front of him and act stubborn. As I was this motherfucker's own blood, I was too willful and had a large amount of shitty ego, so with no doubt I found the second option better than the first one. I have already gone through it before, and it won't hurt to go through it again.

I walked toward my father and kneeled in front of the sofa while looking directly into his eyes, clearly challenging him. “I am asking again, do you know your fault, Yoon Chan?” My father said it with a firm voice that was familiar to me. “No, I don’t. She started it first," I stubbornly said after closing my eyes. I peered into my inner cheeks, enough to leave a mark there as I fisted my shirt with my hand.

“Even if she did, you shouldn't do anything, you fucker. Do you want to spoil your reputation that I worked hard to make?” My father shouted at me, making me flinch because of his sudden raised voice. I felt a string on my cheeks as a sudden realization hit me. He just slapped me, making me fall to the ground with burning cheeks. I again tried to sit on my knees as I supported myself while grabbing the chair, which was just next to me, while directly looking into his eyes with my own teary ones.

“Why should I do it? You know I can't take anyone's bullshit. Then why should I endure her?”. I yelled at my father as I looked at him with my puffy eyes, which surely held tears in them. I tried my best to hold on to them. I never want to look weak in front of him. I can't afford to show him my vulnerable side. I felt my whole body shaking in anger and fear. It was too much too handle as I tightened my grip on my shirt, making my own knuckles go white because of how tight my grip was.

I flinched when he walked toward me. He picked me up from the ground by my hair and slapped me again, making me fall on the sofa with a large amount of force. I let out a hiss as my head came into contact with the wooden part of the sofa. What the fuck? It hurts like a b*tch. This asshole. I bite my own lips tightly because of the discomfort, making them bleed. I felt my cheeks turn cherry red because of the bruise, and I felt my head throbbing. I held my cheeks as I glared at him with a frown on my face. I felt my body shudder because of the heat on my cheeks.

“Stop glaring, you son of a bitch. You are really useless, huh? You are just trying to ruin your image instead of making it. Last time you failed to enter SNU by exam,. Be glad that I used my money for your admission. Instead of working hard, you are having beef with everyone. I was really wasting my money on you, weren't I?.

‘You are the one who is incapable here, father. Before the exam, I told you to buy the cheat sheet for me, but you failed to do so. Now you are blaming me? And I am not the one who wants to be here; you are the one who forced me to take the exam. So you are the one at fault, not me." I shouted at him as I had enough of his bullshit. How can he blame me when he knows how much I hate that subject? I scored full in every subject beside that shit. I let my tears roll down my cheeks while I glared at him with fury.

“You are really so stubborn. You only know how to use that tongue of yours. How dare you shout at me when I am the one who raised you? Do you really forget the things I taught you? I think I have to remind you of those again, shouldn't I? I just stared at him, dumbfounded. Did he forget that I am his son, and I learned to use my tongue from him only? I wanted to laugh at his face, but I held myself back, as I could do that later. This is a serious matter. I just closed my eyes and took a long breath as I slowly calmed myself because I knew what was coming my way.

He told me to follow him, and I did, as I didn't have any other option. He opened the door as I peeked outside and found them standing there. I hide myself behind the large figure of my father, not wanting that fake human to see me. I avoided them both and followed my father as he made his way outside of the college. Can’t this old man walk fast?.

—-------------------

The moment the car stopped in front of our mansion. He tugged on my hand and started to pull me inside. I let him do that instead of yanking his hand. His grip on my wrist was too tight to my liking, and I started to wiggle my hand from his hand, but he just dragged me with him. ‘Stop dragging me like this, old man.” I tried to make him stop by shouting at him, but my voice was unheard by him, making me scoff.

We entered the mansion, but he was still dragging me along with him. I tried to yank my hand but stopped when I saw Jihoon Hyung running to us by the stairs, making me sigh in relief. I was so glad that he was here. My punishment may not be forgiven completely, but maybe it will be less scary than going into the father's red room. I was pulled from my father's side to my brother's as he hid me behind him. I grabbed his shirt lightly with my fist to thank him. ‘ What happened, dad? What did he do to make you this angry?” Jihoon Hyung said as he tried to calm our father, making me roll my eyes. I didn't do anything, bro. He is just too dramatic. I thought about it but didn't say it loudly.

“I don't need to tell you anything, Jihoon. Just step aside from him.” The urge to spit on his face was too strong to be ignored, but I still tried to keep it aside for now. Yes, bookmarking ‘for now’. “You can punish me instead of him, dad. It was me who failed to discipline him.” I looked at Hyung with a raised eyebrow. You didn't fail at anything, brother. Its humans fault who keep provoking me for no reason. I didn't do anything. "Forgive him this time, father. Did you forget that we have to go to our company party? Just let him go this time, and I will make him understand his mistakes.” I was just staring at the floor, completely ignoring their talk. Today, I find the white marble floor more interesting than their long sentences. I knew my brother would rescue me from this psycho. “You are right; I will forgive him today, as he will be the reason for my fulfillment of my biggest wish. Make sure to dress him more elegantly today. He will be getting a nice gift today.” Wow, I will take back my previous words after listening to these words of wisdom. His words seem to be more interesting now that my eyes have shifted from the floor to him. His words were successful enough to make my eyes squint as I raised my eyebrow at him. What did this old man mean?. What gift is he talking about? Don't tell me my actions were that dreadful to make him into a madman, or was he already drunk before even going there? Is he really planning something that vicious? These thoughts were making my head ache as I let out a soft sigh. Today is definitely not going to be that memorable.

My brother softly took my hand in his as he started to climb the stairs as I trailed behind him. When I was following him, I felt my father stare at the back of my head, making me feel creepy as I felt goosebumps on my whole body. 'Wow, what a creep’. We entered my room as he made me sit on the bed. He stood up to get something, and my eyes just followed his movement, watching him silently. We were both silent, but that silence was comfortable enough to make me feel relaxed. He came with a first-aid kit and sat in front of me.

He softly touched my cheeks, making me slightly hiss as I let out a painful sigh. He looked at me with his worried gaze. He started to put ointment on my cheeks as I tried not to make noise. He gently took my hand in his, gently caressing them as I let out a soft sigh. "Chan-ah, why do you always make things difficult for your brother? I told you to stay away from trouble.” Wow, now that's offending, as my lip turned into a pout. ” I didn't do anything. That Choi Soojin provoked me first. I tried to ignore her when she was talking about me, but then she started to talk about Jeonghan Hyun, and you know, I can't hear anything against you two. I told her to keep her mouth shut and not to tell Father, but that bitch did it. Now I really regret not pushing that plate into her neck and shredding them into two.” I smiled toward him as I emphasized each word, making them clear to him. “What did she say?” He asked as I saw his face turn into a blank one.

"First, she was talking nonsense about my wounds that our father gave me last time when I teared his important document in front of him in anger. Then she started to talk about me being gay and then about Jeonghan having two boyfriends, and blah blah blah. I could not take her shit, so I spoiled her dress and pointed a sharp part of the plate at her neck in front of everyone in anger.” I told him about every not-so-good thing I did today. I was surprised when I saw his angry face, but it quickly turned into a blank one at lightning speed. “Okay then, you should rest now, but be ready before 7 so you can reach there in time. I am going somewhere, so don't make things difficult for people here, and don't worry about our father. He will not do anything to you.”

I looked at him with my confused eyes as I asked, “ Where are you going, Hyung?” He started to tug me in bed as he helped to wrap a blanket around me, making me look like a small cacoon. He pecked my forehead, making my heart go soft as I looked toward him with a smile. “To make sure that no one will make things difficult for you from now on.”. I heard him say, but I couldn't focus on that as I felt my eyes going heavy and sleep taking over me.

—--------------------

As usual, Choi Mansion was too quiet for a normal day. The only sound that was heard outside of the mansion was the walking of the bodyguards as they were guarding the mansion. The gate of the Choi mansion was opened when Jihoon's car entered the mansion. Yes, you are right. He was allowed to enter here without getting anyone's permission, as he was going to be Choi himself. He was well respected here, as they knew death was a better option than disrespecting him.

—----

My driver stopped the car in front of the Choi mansion, and before I could open the door by myself, it was opened by one of the men who was guarding the huge door of the mansion as he bowed his head while stepping aside. I came out of the car and felt my body shiver because of the cold, making me wrap my fur jacket around me more tightly. I hurriedly walked toward the door that was immediately opened by those men. The moment it was opened, I saw my fiancé sitting on the sofa with his brother and other members. Everyone was present in the room except his eldest brother, Choi Seungcheol.

He was talking to some people who were wearing black suits. I scoffed when I noticed he was sitting there with his usual famous emotionless face, clearly indicating that the talk wasn't going that well. Well, I really don't care if their so-called talk is important or not because my brother is surely more important than this shit. I saw one vase near the gate as I pushed it with all of my force, making it fall on the floor with a loud, itching sound, startling everyone present in the hall. I smiled when I saw those shattered pieces of glass. They were perhaps looking pretty lying on the floor. My eyes shifted from the floor to everyone present their. I smirked when I saw Soonyoung's widened eyes when he saw me. They all stood up from their places. I walked toward them with my folded arms and a smile on my face and stood in front of him. I raised my one eyebrow at him when I saw him staring blankly at me, as usual. “Why are you here at this time, Jihoon?” He asked me, making me scoff at him. Seriously, do we need a PhD degree to come here or what, these smart asses? “Why can't I be? Do I need Mr. Choi's permission to come here? If its like that, I will make sure to ask you next time if you need my presence beside you or not, okay?” I said while rolling my eyes at him. “I didn't mean that, Jihoon.”

“I really don’t fucking care if you said that or not. I am not here to have a quarrel with you today. Just tell me, where is that trash, Soojin?” I said, as I really didn't want to argue with him. I am already tired of that. "What happened, Hyung? What did she do?” I hear Seungkwan say this as he grabs my hand, softly pulling me away from Soonyoung. She didn't do much. She just almost got my brother locked in a dark room with some dead bodies for days. Can I say this in front of them? Absolutely not. " Well, not that scary. She just often pushes my brother into some sh*t again and again by provoking him. Now I really have no doubt that she went to college just to create problems for my brother. Isn't that interesting?’

“She is not here, Jihoon. Let's go talk in my room.” I scoffed when I heard him say that. Seriously, this cold-hearted vampire. “You Choi’s really look down on Yoon’s, don't you all? First, your old father fixed a marriage between us without asking me first, and now your sister is talking sh*t about my brothers every day.” Well, to be honest, I am not really angry at these words; the thing that annoys me is that they came from his mouth out of all the assholes. He was going to say something but stopped while looking behind my back. I turned around to see that girl staring at us with her wide eyes, making me smirk at her.

“Look who is here; I thought he really hurt you on a level, making you call my father there urgently, but you are walking on your two legs perfectly, though.” I said this because I really thought that Chan lost his temper that badly like last time, but this girl just had one small, not so visible mark on her neck that could heal in just one night. I yanked Seungkwan's hand as I chuckled at her while walking toward her with my folded arms. “He did hurt me; look at the wound on my neck.” Soojin said, making Jihoon laugh loudly at her while holding his stomach with one hand.

Seriously Is she really that fragile, or is she just acting like one? That mark is not even that big to be called a wound. “Are you talking about this small mark? I was worried for nothing; I thought he really strangled you to death. If you are a member of a Choi, then how can you be this fragile? Choi’s have been leader of underground world from decades. You all play with blood every day; then how can you be hurt with this only? ” I said while smiling at her as I slowly leaned toward her while scanning the mark on her neck. “How can you say these words so casually? You guys are really insane. How can you talk to me like this when your brother literally wounded me? And I am the one who is hurt, not your brother, so why are you here and siding with your crazy brother?” I heard her say that, and it really annoyed me. This is so pathetic.

“No one is sane here, darling. Maybe if you hadn't run your mouth for talking shit about him and Jeonghan Hyung. You would not be in this situation. I am here to warn you to stay away from my brother. Don't think that I am saying this because I am worried for him. Its not the case.” I said as I moved closer to her to continue my sentence. while watching her gulp while looking into my eyes with fear.

“The person I'm most worried about is you. You really don’t know how crazy my brother is. He is the most dangerous poison that you really should stay away from. He doesn't care for consequences, even if they affect his body and life. He will ignore your presence if you are on his normal side, but if you play with him, he will make your life hell, which will make you take your own life. Be glad that he didn't stab you with the knife that he was hiding under his sleeves.” I emphasized every single word as I watched her figure back away from me with a visible gulp and shaking eyes, making me smile as I was satisfied by her reaction.

I was grabbed by a hand that pulled me behind as I saw Soonyoung looking at Soojin with his usual intense eyes. “It’s enough, Jihoon. She is scared enough. Soojin, don’t you dare to repeat this again, or I will break your leg next time, and I will let that issue reach Seungcheol Hyung. Go to your room.” Soojin nods at Soonyoung before making her way to her room after looking at Jihoon last time.

“And you, come with me. We will go to your company together for today’s party.” Soonyoug said that while looking in my direction as he grabbed my hand, leading me into his room, making me just follow him silently as I saw his member and Mingyu looking at me with a worried gaze. I just looked at them while blinking my eyes, assuring them I would be alright. He wouldn’t do anything to me. At least I trust him for that.

—--------------------

The moment we entered his room. He locked his door, turned around to face me, and said,” Why didn’t you first tell me that before Jihoon? I would have stopped her before. I know there wasn't any affection between us, but at least you should have trusted me on that matter.” I was looking into his eyes when he said, but I looked away from his eyes when I first felt his sincerity and mumbled, “I got to know about that only today, and how can I even tell you that when you act so coldly around me?”

“You don't even know how much I look at you.” I heard him whisper something, but I couldn't understand it as I asked, “What?” i watched him sigh and shaking his head while looking at me. I raised an eyebrow at him while squinting my eyes. What did you just say, Mister? I thought, but I didn't say that aloud.

“Go change into this dress, Jihoon,” he said as he handed me the silver glittery shirt that had an exposed back cut with a hook and black high-waisted pants with some diamond jewelry that was kept above that dress as his other hand was holding high-heeled boots, making me awestruck as that dress was gorgeous enough to my liking. “Did you prepare this?” I asked as I held onto that dress while looking into his eyes, as his silence was giving me my answers, making my lips turn in a small smile.

“Thanks Soonyoung. Its pretty. I liked it.” I whispered without looking into his eyes, as my eyes were just stuck on his chest, avoiding his eyes at all costs. I started to walk toward his closet while slowly grabbing that piece of clothing with a tighter grip. “I am glad.” I heard him whisper something, and this time I managed to hear that, making my smile turn into a bigger one as my cheeks turned a cherry red.

—-------------

I changed my clothes into that dress, but now there was one problem, and it was an absolutely big one. I can't raise my hand to hook a button behind my whole back, exposing my back, which has tattoos of little stars and his name, which was written in a small font. Fuck my small hands. The only option I had was to ask Soonyoung for help. I took a deep breath while stroking my hand on my chest to calm myself down. I entered the bedroom while grabbing the backcloth with my one hand to not show too much skin. I saw him sitting in the corner of his bed with his crossed legs and scrolling through his phone with one hand, showcasing such great talent. He was concentrating on his phone, and I can't lie, I was too down for this Soonyoung.

“Hey, can you help me with something, please?” I saw his eyes shifting from his phone to me as his eyes were now blank while scanning me from up to down. “Ah-h Sure,“ I hear him stuttering, making my cheek turn more strawberry than they already were. “Can you button them for me? My hands can't reach here.” I turned around to let him see my problem. I felt him getting close to me as my shoulders were now tensed. I shuddered when his finger touched my bare back as he started to button them up for me from below.<\p>

My eyes widened when I felt his soft lips touching my shoulder blades softly, as he was now caressing my back as he continued to button them. I was frozen as I felt his gentle kisses trailing from my shoulder to my neck as they turned into impatient ones, making me let out a small sigh while closing my eyes. It felt so good as I tilted my head sideways to make it easy for him to lead me. He was now done buttoning my buttons as his tattooed hand now sneaked on my waist, grabbing them in a firm grip to stop me from trembling, making my eyes blurry as his fingers were now caressing my stomach after they sneaked inside my top. <\p>

I suddenly widened my eyes after realizing what I was doing. I yanked his hand from my shirt softly as I turned around to stop him by putting my hand on his firm chest. “What are you doing?” I whispered with an airy breath. I saw him getting close to me as his lips were barely touching my puckered one. “Jihoon, Let me kiss you, please, only this time.” He said this while panting, as his breath was softly hitting my lips, making my figure shiver as my skin turned bright red. Fuck it. <\p>

I grabbed his collar with my one hand, pulling him into a sloppy kiss as his again sneaked around my waist, decreasing the distance between us. My hands, which were resting on his chest, were now caressing his biceps. He started to suck my lower lip while biting it from time to time. His hand that was touching my stomach now reached toward my nipples as he started to pinch them, making me moan, but these moans were immediately swallowed by him. His tongue was now ready to be an invader. As he caressed my bottom lip, giving me a sign to open my mouth, I did it without hesitation. His tongue was now playing with mine, making me a moaning mess.<\p>

His fingers were now on my nipples, making them red. All this was disturbed by a knock on the door, making me push him away from him. “Fuck.” I heard him curse breathlessly as we both were breathing hard. A staff member was heard saying, "Young master, everyone is calling you down.” Soonyoung replied to her as I placed my head on his chest while breathing softly. His hands were hugging me as I heard him whispering into my ears, tickling. “Let's continue this later.” I heard him say, making me blush as I said, ”In your dream,” while giggling. He grabbed my hand after kissing my forehead as he pulled me with him, dragging me to the hall. While entering the hallway, I saw Vernon and Seungkwan kissing on the sofa as others were just watching them with disgusted looks.

Why is everyone horny today?

Chapter Text

The second message is a beacon of light.
A ray of hope, a chance to renew,
Offering a path, leading me through.

Two sides of a coin, joy and dismay,
Intertwined in life's symphony, day by day.

------------------------

Tonight's event was one of the most important, not just for Yoons but for Cheols, Hong’s and Lee’s too. Today’s company event was held at the Grand Diamond Palace Hotel, which was built under the Yoons, Lee's, Hong’s and Cheol’s partnership under the contract of marriage between the family’s.

The Palace Hotel was beautifully decorated with luxurious furnishings and elegant details. Tall marble columns held up an ornate, golden ceiling that sparkled like the night sky.

Comfortable purple sofas and chairs invited guests to relax in the grand space. Stunning chandeliers with hanging crystals provided warm, soft lighting throughout the area. Large flower displays in vibrant colors added a natural, beautiful touch to the decor.

Every part of the lobby, from the shiny marble floors to the ornate mirrors on the walls, was carefully designed to create an atmosphere of luxury and sophistication. The Diamond Palace Hotel's lobby left a lasting impression of grandeur and elegance on all who entered.

Every part of the hotel showcased the power of the makers, hence easily dominating the visitor. The whole lobby was filled with guests who were chattering with each other, trying to make their relationship strong for their own greed and profit.

It was normal for rich families to attend the functions of others, try to establish a stable relationship with another family on the basis of marriage or business contracts, and make themselves strong in terms of the business market.

Jihoon was sitting with Cheol family members as Vernon and Soonyoung were sitting beside him on a round table, tapping his one leg on the floor as his eyes roamed throughout the place, trying to find Jeonghan.

This was the first time he felt this awkward. The head of the family, Mr. Cheol, was sitting in front of him, and beside him was his eldest son, Choi Seungcheol, one of the menaces. (Yes, that is how Jihoon called him.).

“Is Chan also going to come, Hyung?” Seungkwan said it in his usual bright tone as all the eyes shifted toward me.

"Hmm, he will.” I said, as my eyes were still roaming there to find Jeonghan Hyung.

"Really, I really want to meet him after what happened with Soojin.” Seungkwan said while chuckling, receiving a glare from Soojin, making me chuckle.

“What ? Stop glaring at me; this was the first time I saw you this annoyed. I really want to meet the person who messed you up this much.”

“He is not someone special; he is just annoying.” Soojin said with a huff, making me sigh as I just looked at her with my bored eyes.

“He is not annoying; you are just too pathetic.” I whispered, but it was heard throughout the table, making the place more awkward than it already was.

I felt Soonyoung's hand on my thigh as he tried to soothe my tensed body. I looked his way and saw him looking at me with his soft gaze, trying to tell me to calm down.

“Stop it, everyone,” I heard someone say, making me divert my attention toward the said person as I saw everyone looking toward their leader.

He was looking toward me with his usual stare, making me look away from him. Choi Seungcheol, leader of the blue shadow, Well, after meeting with him for the first time, I was sure he was not someone anyone could mess with.

His broad figure never fails to make my whole body shiver with his dominating but calm aura. His eyes, while calm and steady, possess a predatory gleam that hints at the violence he is capable of.

“How can he be late when everyone has already arrived? So mannerless.” Soojin said, making me pull out a tired sigh.

“ He will come with dad Soojin, Can you stop with your nonsense? So annoying. Your parents really didn't teach you manners.” I said while looking at her parents, who were glaring at me as I smiled toward them.

They were going to say something but were stopped as there eyes were fixed behind me. I turned to see what had caught their attention and felt a surge of relief as I spotted Jeonghan Hyung approaching as Seokmin and Jisoo were beside him with smiles on their faces.

Jeonghan's presence had a calming effect; his warm demeanor instantly diffused the tense atmosphere. As he drew closer, I could see the concern in his eyes, sensing he had picked up on the palpable conflict.

“Hyung, you are here.” I said this in relief and hugged him as everyone stood from their seats as a formal gesture.

“Hyung, I want to tell you something related to dad.” Jihoon whispered while gripping Jeonghan's coat in a tight grip, indicating the talk was important.

"Wait, Jihoon, let me meet them first.” Jeonghan whispered back while smiling sweetly to the Choi family as Jihoon was gently pulled aside by Jisoo, making him snicker in annoyance.

“Hyung, what is so important about greeting them? My talk is more important than that.” Jihoon whispered, making Seokmin and Joshua chuckle.

‘Let him greet them first, Hyung.” Seokmin said, making Jihoon huff in frustration.

Jeonghan could see the urgency in Jihoon's eyes. Reluctantly, he turned back to the family as he shook hands with Mr. Choi while exchanging gazes with Seungcheol.

“You really got yourself two successful, gorgeous fiances, Jeonghan. You are really lucky, aren’t you ?.” Mr. Choi said this while looking at Seokmin and Joshua, as they both gave him an awkward smile while eyeing Jeonghan.

“Uncl-” Jeonghan but was cut off by Seokmin.

"Actually, Mr. Choi, you're absolutely right," Joshua said, a smile spreading across his face. He wrapped an arm around Seokmin's waist, pulling him closer. "Jeonghan is a very lucky man to have the two of us."

Seokmin chimed in, playing along seamlessly. "That's right. He sure is a lucky man." He gazed up at Jeonghan with a knowing look as he whispered. "Jeonghan-Hyung, don’t be awkward, or our fathers will know that we don't have the type of relationship they actually want.” .

Jeonghan's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting them to do this act.

Meanwhile, Jihoon stood impatiently, tapping his foot as he waited for Jeonghan to finish this fast. He didn't want to waste time on unnecessary formalities.

Finally, after a few minutes, Jeonghan excused himself and pulled Jihoon aside as he nodded toward Seokmin and Joshua to take care of the Choi family.

"Alright, what is it, Jihoon-ah?" Jeonghan asked, his voice soft and concerned.

—-----------------------

The moment Jeonghan took Jihoon with him, Seokim and Joshua were surrounded by Seungkwan and Jun.

"Hyung, you both are so pretty," Seungkwan said, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Tell me if that CEO isn't taking care of you properly. I can do that instead." He winked at Seokmin and Joshua with a suggestive grin on his face, but was smacked on the head by Vernon as he looked at Vernon with his popular side eye.

“You just met them, Seungkwan, and you are already flirting with them.” Vernon's voice and judging gaze immediately cut through Seungkwan's flirtatious behavior. Seungkwan sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.

"Yah, Vernon, so what? Flirting doesn't need specific timing." Seungkwan said as he mimicked exactly the same tone.

Seokmin and Joshua watched the exchange with amusement, exchanging amused glances.

Joshua chuckled and shook his head. "Don't worry, Seungkwan-ah. We will surely tell you if that happens.”

Jun let out a low whistle, clearly impressed. "Wow, Jeonghan-hyung really hit the jackpot, didn't he? You two are stunning, right, Soojin ?." Jun said as he nudged Soojin with his shoulder, who clearly wasn't liking the exchange between them as she hit him back with more force while rolling her eyes.

“What the fck girl, loosen up a bit. At least have some fun tonight.” Jun said, making Soojin huff in annoyance.

The group continued their lighthearted banter, the tension gradually dissipating as they fell into a comfortable rhythm.

—-----------------------------------

"Hyung, something is off with dad today. He is planning something evil.”

“What do you mean by that, Jihoon-ah?”

"Hyung, didn't you notice everything happening today is the same, just like that day?”

“His behaviour was so weird—telling Chan to get ready, talking about some surprises. It was the same when he announced my engagement to Soonyoung. He sure is going to trap Chan into some pathetic deal.” Jihoon said that worry was written on his face as his grip on Jeonghan tightened at each syllabus.

"That bastard is really planning something evil. Don't worry, Jihoon-ah, I will protect you and Chan.” Jeonghan said as he pulled Jihoon into a comforting hug as his one hand caressed Jihoon’s back.

“ I don’t want Chan to get into any mess related to Dad.”

"Shh, I know. Now let’s go inside. Chan is going to arrive soon.” Jeonghan said as he gently grabbed Jihoon's wrist and started walking inside as Jihoon trailed behind him.

—-----------------------

Chan sat quietly in the backseat of his dad's car, his body languidly leaning against the door. One arm was draped along the window frame, his fingers lightly gripping the edge. His other hand rested gently on the fabric of his pink glittery crop top, the delicate material bunched softly in his grasp.

As the car moved, his face remained impassive, his eyes fixed on the passing scenery outside. The cool rush of air caressed his features, sending his dark locks dancing around his face in a mesmerizing dance. There was an almost pensive quality to his expression, a subtle intensity behind his gaze as he observed the world beyond the tinted windows.

He was wearing a pink glittery crop top that sparkled under the light inside the car. The tight-fitting top accentuates his pretty waist, showing his toned abs.

Paired with the eye-catching crop top are tight-fitting black pants that hug his milky thighs. The trousers emphasize his long legs. Over the ensemble, he has donned a sleek, black fur-lined coat that falls to mid-thigh, adding a touch of elegant drama to the look.

Cherry on top was that a delicate chain hangs loosely from his waist, adding a subtle touch of edginess to his looks. And just peeking out from beneath his cropped top, a sparkling belly button piercing glints in the light.

Around his neck, Chan wears a sparkling silver choker, drawing the eye up to his strong jawline and chiseled features. On his wrist, a diamond bracelet catches the light, subtly signaling his wealth and status.

His father was sitting beside him, but Chan didn't seem to care. As long as there was silence between them, he remained unbothered, content to simply exist in the moment.

He was in his own world until the car stopped, and the elegant dance of his hair came to a halt, pulling him out of the private world he had created.

Chan blinked, his reverie broken. The sudden transition back to reality caused a slight shift in his demeanor, but he quickly composed himself, unfazed by the intrusion.

Smoothing a hand over his curled hair, he turned his attention toward his father.

“Don’t create trouble for us, Chan, and be a disappointment to our family." His father said it sternly, and his eyes narrowed with a mixture of fierceness and disapproval.

Chan met his father's gaze evenly, a hint of defiance flickering in his own eyes. "Yeah, if no one will try to mess with me, Dad," he replied, his voice calm and measured.

He straightened his shoulders as his driver came to open the gate for him.

“Let's go, or you will be the one who puts yourself in trouble, dad. I bet you don't want to anger the Choi family.”

Without waiting for a response, he stepped out of the car. He waited for his father to come out too, so that he could trail behind him and save himself from the spotlight as they reached the biggest hallway.

As they entered the grand hallway, Chan's eyes scanned the opulent surroundings.

The guests in the hallway turned to acknowledge their entrance, nodding respectfully to Chan's father while casting curious glances at Chan.

He could hear the murmurs of conversation around him—the usual mix of admiration, envy, and speculation. Among the crowd, he spotted familiar faces from various influential families, each engaged in their own dance of social maneuvering.

As they moved deeper into the hall, Chan saw his two brothers, Jeonghan and Jihoon, talking to members of the Choi family, including someone who he hated with his full heart. Hatred was a mutual feeling between them, and Choi Soojin was making him realize it was going to be a memorable night.

“Lee Chan, That's Choi Seungcheol. Don’t misbehave with him.” Chan heard his father say, making him roll his eyes with a huff of annoyance as he pointed toward the man who was talking to his eldest brother with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a red wine.

Without waiting for a response, Mr. Yoon started to make his way toward that table as Chan's saw how that man was wearing a black shirt and a long red fur coat, coincidentally matching Chan's dress. He knew who that man was, as he had heard about him from his own brother before.

It was Choi Seungcheol, the leader of Blue Shadow.

He started to play with weapons at a young age, thinking they were not deadly killing machines but simple toys. He killed his own grandfather without hesitating at the age of 18 as he occupied the leader position, which was meant for his father, but no one was capable of challenging him for that role, not even his father.

“Hyung?” Chan called his brother with his gentle voice as everyone's attention turned toward him. Its been 15 days since he met his brother last time, as he was not coming back home for reasons no one told him.

Chan's eyes met Jeonghan's surprised ones as he rushed toward his dearest brother and engulfed him in a warm hug as he hid his face in his brother's chest.

He felt his brother's hands wrap around his waist as he felt his finger caressing the soft material he was wearing.

"Chan-ah, you are here.” He lifted his head from his brother's chest as he stared at him with his usual pout that he always uses when he is upset with Jeonghan.

“You didn't meet me for 15 days, Hyung.” He whined as he saw his brother's adoring smile directed toward him.

"Chan-ah, we know how much you adore your brother, but leave him for now and greet everyone.” He heard his father say with his fake chuckle as he pulled away from the hug and slowly started to take in the view as his eyes met with the Choi Seungcheol cold ones.

He felt his heartbeat getting louder. It was sudden, as he had never felt like this before. He felt current quickly travelling inside his body as he averted his attention from him as fast as he could.

bowed toward the oldest man he saw among everyone. Assuming him as the head of the Choi family, Mr. Choi Seunghan.

“It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Choi. My father always spoke so highly of you.” Chan said as he gave an older man a sweet but coy smile while meeting his eyes confidently.
“Which part of the story did he tell you about me, young man?.”

He heard Mr. Cheol say it with a smile on his face, making Chan's eyes turn into mischievous ones. "Oh, you know how fathers can be, always exaggerating the best parts," Chan said with a soft tone as he saw his father's posture and his brothers worried gazes.

“Yoon Chan, You are so pretentious. Did you forget what you did to me in the morning?” he heard Soojin say, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes at her.

“Maybe you are the special case, Soojin-ah.” Chan said as he gave her his famous blank stare but was surprised as he heard Mr. Choi chuckle.

“I also heard some great stories about you too from Soojin, young man.”

"Mr. Choi, I thought Soojin lacked some manners so I took the matter onto my shoulders as her dearest friend, which was absolutely her parents job and taught her some. I hope you are not angry at me for that.” Chan said as he watched everyone's surprising expression, as nobody ever talks like that in front of Mr. Choi.

“Haw dare-” Soojin grunted but was cut off by Mr. Choi as she stopped talking as she saw him telling her to do so with his hand.

“You are really interesting, Lee Chan, and we are going to get a lot of time to understand each other in the future too, so let's hope the best of it.”

What does he mean by that?

That's so weird.

“Now let's forget about the past and meet my three sons.” Chan only knew about the eldest one but he didn't have any knowledge about the other two as he saw two handsome men come forward as Seungcheol was glued to his place and studying Chan with his intense eyes.

Chan ignored his stare as he saw how both men were giving him a small but generous smile. Chan turned his attention to them, offering a warm smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you both," he said, his voice soft yet confident.

“It's a pleasure to meet you too, Chan. its Choi Soonyoung but you can refer to me as your Hyung.”

“You are Soonyoung ? I heard a lot about you from Jihoon Hyung.” Chan lied as he winked toward Jihoon, who raised his eyebrow toward him and gave him a look that clearly said, I never did that.

He saw how that man's face turned into a red one as he gave Chan his biggest smile.

So Jihoon Hyung got a good catch. His lucky Hyung.

He turned toward the other man as he accepted the handshake that was offered to him.

“Its Choi Mingyu. You can also call me Hyung, but only if you are comfortable.”

“Of course, Hyung.” Chan said, making Mingyu pat his head softly, making him freeze on his spot as his eyes widened. No one other than his brothers did that with him.

“Enough of formality, everyone.” He heard one man say as he saw his one foot tapping on the floor at a similar pace, giving him a clear idea of who that person was.

“You are Boo Seungkwan, right ??”

"Woahh, how do you know?”

“By your habit of tapping your foot on the floor when you are interested in someone.” Chan said as he eyed Seungkwan's legs, which absolutely stopped after hearing Chan's words.

“You already know so much about me so can I talk to your father to ask for your hand for our marriage?” Seungkwan said with a smirk that Chan definitely wanted a wipe from his face as he smiled toward Seungkwan.

“You can’t; I am afraid I will be too expensive for you.” Chan said, making Seungkwan chuckle.

“You're literally looking like a prostitute in that dress.” Soojin said, making everyone near that place go silent.

"Right, I am still an expensive and gorgeous one but I can't say the same about your cheap self.” Chan said as it made the place more awkward than it already was.

“Yo-.”

"Everyone, let's take our seats now.” Chan father said as he saw everyone nod in agreement.

“You are right, Mr. Yoon, and it's already getting late for our announcement.” Mr. Cheol said as everyone moved to take their seats. Chan saw that Soojin was also going to take her seat as his eyes turned into playful ones. Before she could sit beside Jihoon on the table, which is situated for the Choii family only, Chan took that seat before her while crossing his leg as he placed his arm on the table and watched Soojin with a sarcastic smile.

Soojin glared at him, clearly irritated. "Yoon Chan, what do you think you're doing? That's my seat."

Chan tilted his head innocently. "Oh, I'm sorry, Soojin-ah. I didn't realize this seat was reserved for you. Wait, let me search your name here." His tone dripped with sarcasm. "Hmm, nope, I don't see your name written anywhere on this seat. Are you sure you're not just making assumptions again, Soojin-ah?"

Soojin's face flushed with anger as she glared daggers at Chan. "You brat! This is unacceptable; I always sit beside Seungcheol oppa." Chan felt a heavy gaze on him. He turned to the other side and saw Seungcheol was also sitting beside him.

Fuck my life

Their eyes met, and Chan cleared his throat as he shifted his attention to Soojin.

Seungcheol raised a hand, silencing Soojin before she could retort. "Now, let's not have any more squabbles. There's plenty of seating for everyone, Soojin; don’t make drama here." It was the first time Chan heard his voice and it surely didn't fail to give him goosebumps as he slightly gulped.

Oh, fck, that voice.

He gestured to the empty chairs nearby. Soojin reluctantly took the seat in front of him, shooting Chan a venomous look.

Chan simply smiled sweetly back at her, feeling a small sense of triumph as he ignored her presence and turned his attention toward Jihoon.

“Chan-ah, go sit with Jeonghan Hyung.” Jihoon said while gently approaching him. ”But I want to sit with you and Soonyoung Hyung.” Chan said with a pout on his face as he saw everyone chuckling at his behaviour, making him shiver with irritation.

"Chan, come with me and your brother." Chan's father said, making him huff in annoyance.

“Fine.” Chan stood up from his place, not forgetting to show Soojin his middle finger, which was noticed by no one but only three people in that room as he followed his father and Jeonghan to their seats.

"Hyung, what's going on? Why did Father bring me here?" Chan whispered, his voice laced with worry.

Jeonghan placed a comforting hand on Chan's shoulder and leaned in closer. “ I am not sure, Chan-ah."

Chan nodded, but he couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. Dinner commenced, and the adults engaged in polite conversation about business dealings and investments. Chan tried his best to focus on his plate, but he couldn't help but occasionally glance up to find Seungcheol still observing him.

What a weird man!

Chan couldn't shake the feeling that something sinister was brewing beneath the surface. He had a sinking suspicion that this was no ordinary family gathering, and he couldn't help but wonder what his father and the Choi family had in store for him.

After some time, Mr. Choi suddenly stood up, clearing his throat to command the attention of the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for being here tonight. As you know, the Choi, Yoon, Lee, and Hong families have had a longstanding business partnership. And tonight, we have an announcement to make that will solidify our alliance even further."

Chan felt a sense of unease creep up his spine. What could this announcement be?

Choi Seunghan's gaze settled on Chan, a small smile playing on his lips. "It is with great pleasure that I announce the marriage of my son, Choi Seungcheol, to your son, Yoon Chan, followed by the marriage of Choi Soonyoung with Yoon Jihoon, and Yoon Jeonghan with Lee Seokmin and Hong Jisoo, CEOs of Lee and Hong Group, on the same day. ."

The room erupted into gasps and murmurs as the head of Lee and Hong stood up from their seats with smile on their face. It was a big announcement for the media, as Yoon, Choi, Lee, and Hong were leading families in today’s society.

but Chan could only sit there in stunned silence, his eyes wide with disbelief. Engaged? To Choi Seungcheol? What the heck?

He turned to his father, staring at him with his angry eyes, but Mr. Yoon simply nodded, a triumphant expression on his face. "This is indeed a joyous occasion for our families. We are honored to welcome the Choi, Lee, and Hong families into our lives through this union."

This is not just a marriage but a web of arranged marriages.

Before Chan could process anything, he heard Soojin say:.

"Uncle, how can you set up a Seungcheol marriage with a man? I want a sister-in-law and not a rebellious person like him as Seungcheol Oppa's partner. He is so feisty, unruly, and desrespectful.”

Chan felt something irk inside of him as he stared at her with his blank eyes.

Not again

“How can there be marriage between men? Thats so weird, They are so disgu-”

Before Soojin could continue her nonsense, Chan banged the table with the glass that was placed on it as the room fell into a stunned silence as Chan stood up, glass of water in hand, and strode towards Soojin. Without hesitation, he splashed the entire contents of the glass onto her face, effectively cutting off her offensive tirade.

Soojin let out a shocked gasp, her eyes wide with disbelief as the water dripped down her face. The other guests stared at the scene, unsure of how to react.

Chan leaned toward her as he placed one hand on the table and the other on the seat where she was sitting.

“Tsk Tsk One time of the past and one time of the present, so pathetic, Soojin-ah.”

“What the-” Chan stopped her by placing one hand on her throat in a swift motion. The grip wasn’t tight but it came out as a warning to tell her to stop moving.

“I told you to not to mess with me. Didnt I? Soojin-ah.” Chan said as he leaned in, his grip tightening ever so slightly around Soojin's throat.

He lifted his hand away from her throat as he dragged the same hand inside of his long coat and pulled out a sharp knife that had Yoon Chan carved on it, making Soojin's eyes widen as he slowly started to tap that knife on the table. He was looking at her without blinking as Soojin's body got stiff after seeing that knife in his hand.

“You know how crazy I am, right? Do you know that playing with a knife is like child play to me?.” Chan said as he slowly started to bring the pointy edge of the knife toward Soojin's neck as he suddenly positioned the sharp part of the knife on her neck and slowly started to put pressure in his grip. Every action he took was without breaking his eye contact with Soojin and the smile he was wearing was never erased from his face.

"Soojin-ah, you don't like when I am good to you, right? You really made me mad.” Chan said as his soft eyes he was faking till now turned into a furious one.

” So listen now, you piece of sh*t. It won't even take me 5 seconds to stab this knife into your useless self and then into myself to avoid problems between our families. I really tried to act nice and gentle with you until now for the sake of my family's reputation. So be nice and shut your disgusting mouth or I will do that myself.”

“Young man, calm down and drop that knife. You are scaring the little girl.” Mr. Choi said as Chan let out a sarcastic chuckle after hearing that little girl part.

“Right, beauties like you shouldn't play with knives like that.” He heard Seungkwan say but that didn't make him lift that knife away from her.

" Chan-ah, listen to Hyung, and put that knife away.”

“Jeonghan Hyung I tried to restrain myself but stubborn people like Soojin don't listen. Do they?”

“You don't like me as your brother-in-law?” Chan said as he leaned toward her and pronounced every word clearly and loudly.

“But Soojin-ah, it felt nice to me.”

“ So, my dear future sister-in-law, brace yourself, as we are going to live in the same house after your cousin and my marriage.” Chan said as he pulled away from her, making her let out the breath she had been holding for so long.

Chan turned his attention toward Seungcheol, who was just sitting beside her and watching all the drama unfold in front of him with an amused expression.

Chan struck toward the said man as he leaned toward Seungcheol until their faces were on the same level, meeting each other's eyes as Chan slowly closed his eyes, grabbed Seungcheol's shirt collar in a tight grip and pulled Seungcheol toward himself with force as he closed the gap between them. He felt the cold lips of Sungcheol’s on his soft ones as he slowly lost his mind in the warmth he felt in his chest, making everyone present in the hall gasp in surprise at his bold action.

And there he stands at the crossroads of his life while sailing the promise of marriage by one kiss and hence that’s the reason why he ended up in the club with his two brothers and Minghao consoling him while he cried like a child who just got his sweets stolen.

Chapter Text

In this darkness, a glimmer of light shines through.
A chance to learn, to grow, and to start anew.
Regret becomes my teacher if I heed its call.
Guiding me forward, helping me stand tall.

—---------------

Where am I???

Everything seems black.

It feels like my body is trapped. I tried to move, but why can't I feel anything? I can’t move. Something is stopping me, but what is it?

I tried to scream but nothing was coming out from my mouth as a growing sense of panic set in. The silence is deafening, pressing in on me from all sides.

Suddenly, with a sudden force, someone grabbed my jaw in a tight grip as I let out a quiet whimper. My eyes traveled throughout the darkness, but no one was there. My body was frozen, but I was turned around in a quick motion as a grip on my jaw forced me to look in front of me.

The grip on my face slowly loosened as I tried to look around with my blurry eyes.

The air was thick with oppressive silence as I saw a small figure trapped on the chair with a tight rope around his soft wrists. I can hear his rough breathing as it echoed in the small, confined space, the only sound piercing the overwhelming darkness.

I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn't. I want to ask, Why is he here? And who trapped him ? us ? But I am not able to. How did we even end up in this situation?

That child was completely immobilized, helpless in the all-consuming blackness.

but I am helpless too. I can’t do anything.

His voice cracked with fear. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

I wanted to answer him but I could not as those words vanished into the void, swallowed by the oppressive silence

“He-lp me, Mom ? Dad ? Are you here? Brother?” He cried, but his cries were ignored by people outside of the room.

I am the only one who can hear his cries as they slowly turn into pleas. I wanted to hug him as I felt a drop of tears sliding through my cheeks.

But who is this child? I couldn't see his face; his face was blurred. I saw those rough ropes chafing his body and painting them red. We need to get out. I tried to struggle, but all these efforts are going to waste. I had to get out of this nightmare.

But the more I struggled, the tighter the bonds became, trapping me in their unyielding invisible force.

The darkness pressed in, stifling and suffocating. He was alone with me, who was helpless, adrift in a sea of black, with no lifeline in sight.

Suddenly, I heard a small sound that came behind me as this eerie silence was shattered by the sound of a door creaking open. A sliver of light pierced the impenetrable blackness, momentarily blinding the person trapped within.

Footsteps echoed, drawing closer as I felt someone pass by me. An unusual smell then spread throughout the room—a citrus and floral scent that felt oddly familiar.

As the figure came into view, it was a woman in a red dress. Her back was turned to me, and I strained to get a better look, trying to place where I might have encountered her before. She seemed...familiar.

Who is she???

The woman stopped in front of the child, and I could just make out the muffled sound of her voice speaking to them. My heart raced, dreading the building, as I noticed the glint of metal in her hand.

"Wa-it, she is holding a knife in her hand.

"No, don't..." I tried to cry out, but my voice was unheard.

In one swift motion, the woman raised the knife and made a small, deliberate cut on the child's wrist. I watched in horror as a thin line of blood emerged, with the child letting out a muffled cry of pain.

"Stop! Please, stop!" I begged, panic overtaking me. I had to do something; I couldn't let her hurt that child. But I was powerless, trapped in the darkness as I bore witness to this twisted act.

"Shh, it will be over soon. I heard that lady say. She was facing that child, but why does it seem like she was talking to me instead of that child?

A sudden, intense pain shot through my head. My vision began to blur, with the edges of my sight growing hazy and distorted.

"Wha-what's happening?" I tried to cry out, but my voice was barely a whisper, swallowed by the overwhelming sensations assaulting my senses

The room started to spin, the shadows and shapes twisting and distorting. I blinked rapidly, desperate to clear my vision, but the pounding in my skull only grew more intense. I started to hear that lady laugh and it was making me crazy.

"No, this can't be real," I muttered, a growing sense of panic rising within me. This had to be a dream or a nightmare; it couldn't be actually happening. I was in my room before. This is not real.

Chan-ah woke up... Chan ?? I felt someone shaking me, but I found myself slipping further and further into a state of unbridled terror.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to will myself up to escape this horrific scene. But the oppressive darkness and the lingering scent of citrus and florals remained, a constant reminder that I was still trapped in this living hell.

The sound of the woman's voice, laced with that twisted amusement, sent chills down my spine. "Shh, it will all be over soon," she repeated, the words echoing in my mind.

“Mom….??” Whispers echoed throughout the place.

—-----------

Chan's eyes flew open, his heart pounding as he gasped for air. Beads of perspiration dotted his forehead, and a lingering sense of dread still clung to his mind.

The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was his brother, Jeonghan, who regarded him with a concerned gaze. Chan's body trembled as he attempted to speak, but only choked sobs escaped his lips.

Unable to contain the overwhelming emotions flooding his senses, Chan closed his eyes while sobbing, his hand instinctively reaching out to grasp Jeonghan's shirt for support. His other hand clenched into a fist, beating against his chest in a desperate attempt to dispel the lingering fear that gripped his heart.

"Another dream?" Jeonghan inquired, to which Chan nodded, swallowing the choked cough as his tears continued to slip from his puffy eyes.

"Chan-ah, tell Hyung, what did you see?" Jeonghan asked gently.

"Th-at child, Sh-e, T-hat knife," Chan tried to articulate, but only whimpers escaped his trembling lips. Defeated, he let out all the emotions that had been tightly packed inside, his broken sobs echoing in the room. Jeonghan reached out, grasping Chan's wrist and pulling him into a tender embrace, gently rubbing his back in soothing circles.

"Shhh, it's alright. It was just a dream. You're safe now," Jeonghan murmured, his calming words helping to quell Chan's distress.

As Chan's sobs began to subside, Jeonghan continued to hold him, offering words of reassurance. "Whatever you saw, it cannot harm you here. Hyung is here, my fluff ball."

“Now stop crying, sweetheart. Today is a big day for you. Even though you didn't want to marry him, we can’t take a step back now.

The memory of last Monday was still fresh in Chan’s mind. Kissing the eldest of the Choi family was the last nightmare Chan wanted, but he did what his instincts ordered him to do in that moment.

Unintentionally, after his bold action, his not so good father started to behave nicely toward him, which was too sweet for his liking.

“Chan-ah, we are going to have breakfast with the whole Yoon family today. Everyone is already here. Darling, just handle them for today.”

Chan let out a whinny noise as he grabbed the pillow and hit his own face with it.

"Ugh, this is an absolute nightmare," Chan groaned, burying his face in the plush pillow. "I have to face everyone today - those two-faced uncles who gossip behind my back, those snobbish aunts who never miss a chance to belittle me, and those spineless cousins who just parrot whatever their parents say." He shuddered at the thought, his grip on the pillow tightening., but at least I can bear them, as the real problem is that I have to face the whole Choi family at night." Chan widened his eyes as he continued his babble “How am I going to face them after literally French kissing Choi-fucking—I mean, Choi freaking Seungcheol- The head??”

"Well, I know it’s too much for you to handle, but there is one good thing I want to tell you.”

“What? Is Choi Seungcheol dea-

"No, Chan, Yeonjun is also there, waiting for you downstairs.” Jeonghan, while nodding to himself and pressing his hand on his ears as he let Chan process the information he just gave,.

HYUNG, WHAT THE HECK, REALLY??

"Yeah, he is here, so get ready and come down fast.” Chan nodded as he glanced at the retreating figure of his brother, then dropped his body back on the bed, gazing at the large mirror on his left side. He paid no mind to the old scar on his wrist as he slowly closed his eyes, his mind swirling with several thoughts.

Chan's expression hardened as he whispered, "Is Yoon Soyeon back too?"

--------------

"Where is he?" The tall man in black muttered, his deep voice rumbling through the shadows. He strode down the dimly lit corridor, where several buff men in navy suits stood in a line, their heads bowed in fear as they gazed towards their imposing boss. His boots echoed ominously against the walls.

"In the red room, Boss," Jun said as he trailed behind Seungcheol with the other 3 men.

The guard stood beside the entrance to the ominous "red room." As the tall man in black approached, the guard swiftly and silently unlatched the heavy, metal gate, allowing the foreboding presence to step through.

Inside the dimly lit chamber, a lone figure was bound tightly to a chair, his features contorted in a mask of anguish. Deep, angry gashes marred the man's face, the dried blood a stark contrast against the pallor of his skin. Beads of sweat glistened on his brow, a testament to the torment he had endured.

The captive's ragged, labored breathing echoed through the oppressive silence of the room, each inhale and exhale a testament to the violence that had been inflicted upon him. The air was heavy with the scent of blood.

"Talk," Seungcheol commanded with unwavering authority as he strode towards the helpless man, confidently taking a seat in the chair positioned directly in front of the bruised captive. Jun stood behind Seungcheol, his gaze fixed intently on the prisoner, his expression unreadable.

The captive's eyes were wild with desperation, and his head was shaking frantically. "I don't know anything; let me go!" He cried, his voice trembling with fear.

Seungcheol's lips curled into a derisive sneer. "You fucker," he spat, "there's no point in lying. Just give me the information I want about your boss, and maybe I'll show you some mercy."

The man's brow furrowed in anguish, his body trembling against the unyielding restraints. "I'm telling you the truth, I swear! I don't know anything!" he pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation.

Seungcheol's lips curled into a derisive, humorless laugh as he turned his gaze towards Jun. Understanding the unspoken command, Jun clapped his hand, summoning one of the guards into the room.

The guard entered, carrying a large tray covered with a red cloth. With a sense of reverence, he placed the tray in front of Seungcheol, the ominous nature of the gesture not lost on the captive.

The bound man's eyes widened in trepidation, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched the exchange unfold. The air in the room grew thick with a palpable sense of dread, the shadows seeming to close in around him.

Seungcheol's fingers traced the edge of the cloth, a predatory gleam in his eyes. Slowly and deliberately, he grasped the fabric and pulled it away, revealing the contents of the tray.

The man’s breath caught in his throat as he beheld the array of tools laid out before him—knives, pliers, and other instruments of torment—their sharp edges glinting menacingly in the dim light.

Seungcheol's gaze locked with the prisoner's, a cold, calculating expression on his face. "You see, my friend," he murmured, his voice low and dangerous. "I have ways of making you talk."

The bound man’s words came tumbling out in a desperate plea, his voice tinged with a mixture of fear and urgency. "No, no, wait! I'm telling you the truth. For low-ranking operatives like us, we've never even seen the face of our boss. We were given our missions under the name of the dragon, but that's all we know."

Seungcheol's brow furrowed as he listened, his gaze unwavering. "Go on," he said, his deep voice rumbling through the oppressive silence of the room.

"Every Monday, we receive coded text messages from an unknown number with our orders," the captive continued, his words spilling forth rapidly. "We're never called into the base, and only the top-ranking members know the true identity of the dragon. I'm telling you the truth; please, you have to believe me."

Seungcheol leaned forward, his piercing gaze boring into the man's very soul. "Then you're of no use to me," he growled, the threat implicit in his words. With a swift, practiced motion, Seungcheol raised the gun, the barrel leveled directly at the man's head.

A deafening gunshot echoed through the oppressive silence of the room, the sound reverberating off the walls. The captive's head snapped back, his lifeless body slumping against the restraints as a crimson stain blossomed on his forehead.

Seungcheol lowered the smoking gun, his expression devoid of emotion. "Dispose the body," he commanded, his voice cold and detached.

Jun nodded as he signaled to the guards to carry out the grisly task.

"There was one more," Jun said sharply, his gaze fixed on the guard. "Where is he?"

Seungcheol's attention immediately shifted, his eyes narrowing as he awaited the guard's response.

The guard shifted uncomfortably, his eyes downcast. "Sir, we couldn't capture him. He escaped."

A low, guttural growl rumbled in Seungcheol's throat as he glared at the hapless guard. "You fools," he spat, his voice dripping with contempt. "Can't you do anything properly?"

Jun stepped forward, his expression darkening. "He was from the top rank," he said, his voice laced with frustration. "We could have gotten some valuable information about the dragon from him."

The guard cowered under the weight of their combined fury, his hands trembling. "I-I'm sorry, sir. He was too fast; we couldn't—"

Seungcheol raised a hand, silencing the man. "Excuses," he hissed. "I have no use for them."

He turned to Jun, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous intensity. "Find him," he commanded. "Bring him to me, alive if possible.

"I want to know who's been playing us all this time."

Jun nodded, his expression grim. "It will be done." Without another word, Seungcheol strode from the room.

Jun's expression darkened as he turned to the guard, his eyes narrowing with barely contained rage.

"Freaking bastard," he spat, his voice dripping with contempt. "Don't you dare show your face around here again."

The guard cowered under the weight of Jun's fury, his entire body trembling with fear. "I-I'm sorry, sir," he stammered, his words barely audible. "It won't happen again, I swear."

Jun took a step forward, his fists clenched at his sides. "You had one job," he growled, his words laced with venom. "One simple task, and you couldn't even manage that."

The guard shrunk back, his back pressed against the wall as Jun loomed over him. "P-please, sir," he pleaded, his voice quivering. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."

Jun's lip curled in a sneer, his contempt for the man palpable. "Make it up to me?" he scoffed. "You've already failed us once. I can't afford to have incompetent fools like you on my team."

The guard's eyes widened in terror, his mind racing with the implications of Jun's words. "No, please," he begged while kneeling. "I'll do better, I swear. Just give me another opportunity."

Jun's expression remained cold and unforgiving. "Another opportunity?" he echoed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You've used up all your chances."

Without warning, Jun's hand shot out, his fingers closing around the guard's throat. The man's eyes bulged as he struggled to breathe, his hands clawing at Jun's unyielding grip.

"Consider this your final warning," Jun hissed, his face mere inches from the guard's. "If you fail me again, I won't be so merciful."

He released his hold, and the guard collapsed to the floor, gasping for air. Jun turned on his heel as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, calling someone as he walked out of the room, his footsteps echoing in the eerie silence.

“ Vernon, Send your team to search the yellow zone area. Mine are bunches of imbeciles.”

—---------------------------

Seungcheol stepped out onto the building, the cool morning air caressing his face. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, placing it between his lips and lighting it with a practiced flick of his thumb.

As he took a long, slow drag, he closed his eyes, allowing the familiar sensation of the nicotine to wash over him. The smoke curled and danced in the gentle breeze, momentarily obscuring his vision before dissipating into the air.

With a deep exhale, Seungcheol opened his eyes and pulled out his phone, his fingers deftly navigating the screen as he checked his messages.

Soonyoung - When are you coming back? At least be home on your wedding day, dude ;).

Seungcheol: - have some work to do.

Soonyoung - Mom is getting angry. Be fast Hyung.

Seungcheol - Hmm.

“Hyung, Aunty called me and asked me to bring you home.” Jun said, startling Seungcheol “I can assure you, that's a red alert.”

"Hmm, Soonyoung messaged me.” Seungcheol exhaled as he put his phone back in his pocket.

“So...” Jun said while looking at Seungcheol in hesitation. “What? Keep it straight,” Seungcheol said as he looked at Jun with his raised eyebrows.

Jun cleared his throat, his eyes meeting Seungcheol's. "I mean, are you really going to marry that boy?"

Seungcheol's expression remained neutral as he considered the question. "Hmm, it seemed so," he replied, his tone measured.

Jun's eyes widened slightly. "What about your girlfriend?" he pressed, his words causing Seungcheol to hiss in annoyance.

"Mina is not my girlfriend," Seungcheol growled, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

Jun raised his hands in a placating gesture. "Damn, dude, no offense, but everyone thinks like that."

Seungcheol rolled his eyes as he crushed the cigarette under his boot. "Well, who refuses beauty when it's offered?" he said, his lips curving into a slight smirk as contact with those pucker lips was still replaying in his mind.

“Are you talking about Yoon Chan?” Jun said while looking at Seungchel with confusion, "No, I was talking about beauty.” Seungcheol said as he started to walk toward the car, making Jun follow him.

"Tha-t same, YAhh, don't tell me you're already smitten with him, Jun said as he opened the gate of the car for Seungcheol.

“Mina is going to create problems if she hears about the wedding."

“Hmm, now that the boy is already part of this game where everyone is on each other's necks for power, its going to be a long journey for him.” Seungcheol said as he looked out of the window while leaning backward as he placed his gun in front of himself, "From tomorrow onward, I want Seungkwan to accompany the boy wherever he goes, from the Choi mansion.”

“Roger that boss.”

—-------------------------------------------

"Yeonjunie, did you... did you have plastic surgery?” That was the first thing Chan said after entering Yeonjun's room, “How can you become this handsome in just 2 months?” He engulfed Yeonjun in a tight hug.

“Ouch, sugar pie, You wound me; I missed you, cupcake.” Yeonjun let out a chuckle as he hugged Chan back while caressing his waist. "It's been absolute torture without you, Yeonjunie," he murmured, his words muffled against Yeonjun's chest. Chan pulled away from the hug while wiping his cheeks dramatically as he stuffed his face again in Yeonjun's chest. "I'm so glad you're here.”

Well, if you are wondering, who is Yeonjun to Chan ? Then let me end your confusion. If we go back in time, when Chan mother—- Kim Si Hyun married Yoon Do Hyun in 1998, Yeonjun mother—- Min Ha Rin had been entrusted to Kim Si Hyun by the Kim family to serve as a caretaker, and on November 16, 2013, when Kim Si Hyun killed herself in her own room,. After In just 1 month, Min Ha Rin left Yoon Mansion on December 16, 2013, leaving her son Min Yeonjun with Yoon Chan, who was the same age as him, after taking a promise from Yeonjun that he would always protect Chan, even if his own death was in front of him.

“How are your parents?” Chan said as he looked toward Yeonjun with a questioning gaze, “Thay are good; mom was missing you.”

“I am glad,” Chan said while grinning toward Yeonjun.

"Well, now can we talk about what's going on in this house?” Yeonjun reached out to grab Chan’s hand. ”It's not that serious, Yeonjun.” Chan hissed as he shifted his eyes away from Yeonjun.

“It’s serious, cupcake; I was just away for 2 months, and you are already getting married.”

“I fucking kissed Choi Seungcheol, Yeonjun.” Chan replied as his cheek turned crimson red.

“What the heck?”

“I seconded that; his sister was pissing me off, and I thought that was the best revenge I could take in that fucking moment.” Chan huffed while squinting his eyes.

“Fi-rst language, cupcake; secondly, I know I thought you to be this sexy and sassy, but baby doll, I didn’t know that you would use it like this. You should control your hormones, babe.”

“That was not my hormone speaking, Yeonjun-shi.” Chan said as he rolled his eyes while sassily tugging his hand in his sweater.

“I doubt that,”

"Whatever,” Chan said as he brought his hand in front of Yeonjun's face to make a cross sign.

"Okay, fine, tell me now what you're going to do.” Yeonjun said as he raised his eyebrow while tilting his head sideways. “Well, I have to marry him, but I have two options after marriage.” Chan said as he walked toward the work table and grabbed the cutter, slowly poking his finger into it.

“And what are they?” Yeonjun said as he eyed Chan suspiciously.

“First, just be a poor husband of his and suffer in that house.” Chan said while letting out a hiss as a small part of a cutter entered his flesh.

Yeonjun's face twisted in disgust. "Well, that’s pathetic and a big nah from me. We ain’t made for that; tell me the second option, babe.”

“Steal.” Chan pouted as he looked toward the blood that flowed from his finger.

"Steal?" Yeonjun echoed, his heart racing with a mix of trepidation and curiosity.

Chan threw the cutter on the table with a loud sound as he turned toward Yeonjun while smiling and crossed his arms while leaning back on that table

“His heart.” he murmured, the words hanging in the air like a challenge.

—---------------------------

It was a languid afternoon for Wonwoo as he lounged in his lavish bedroom, clad in a sheer, crimson robe that draped elegantly over his frame, the delicate fabric failing to conceal the alluring expanse of his pale, flawless skin. A crystal glass of rich, ruby-hued wine rested in his hand, the liquid catching the soft ambient light that filtered through the room's expansive windows.

With a contented sigh, he allowed his gaze to drift towards the window, where the warm, golden light of the afternoon sun cast a gentle glow upon his delicate features. As he was about to take another sip of his favorite wine, the sudden sound of his bedroom door slamming open startled him, causing his brow to furrow as his gaze shifted to the intruder.

"Mingyu?" Wonwoo's voice was calm, his eyebrow raised in a questioning gesture. "What are you doing here?"

Mingyu approached the bed as his face was decorated with a smirk. "I didn't realize you would be in such a receptive mood, my dear Scarbie."

Wonwoo shifted his position, supporting himself on his elbow as he turned his gaze away from the shameless intruder to the window. His movements were graceful and deliberate, with a subtle shift in his posture that conveyed a sense of distance and detachment.

“Hmm, My jerk boyfriend seems to be busy all the time, so i found some ways to entertain myself.” Wonwoo whispered as he continued to sip on his wine, colouring his soft lips into cherry, his black hair disturbing his eyes as they slowly carressed his face.

Mingyu placed himself on the bed, exactly sitting beside Wonwoo. "What a scumbag! A beauty like yours needs to be cherished, Scarbie.” His rough hand slowly sneaked up to rub Wonwoo’s milky thigh.

Wonwoo smirked as he felt soft kisses on his thigh. He turned his body toward Mingyu as he slowly placed his foot on his chest, stopping his playful movement. "Did I tell you to touch me?” Wonwoo said as he poked Mingyu's chest with his toe. “ Men like you lack self-control, don’t they? Just show some skin, and you’ll be on your knees, desperate for a good fuck. Just like now.” Wonwoo smiled as he tilted his head, looking back at Mingyu's intense gaze. “Just for you, Scarbie.”

"Hmm, good.” Wonwoo trailed his ankle near Mingy's mouth, tapping his lips with his toe, “open up,” Mingyu gulped, making Wonwoo squint his eyes in irritation and annoyance as he hit Mingyu’s chest with his ankle. “ Such a bad dog, I said. Open up.”

Mingyu opened his mouth as he looked at Wonwoo with his heavy gaze. "Hmm, now be a good puppy and lick,” Wonwoo said as he kept his wine glass away and supported himself with both hands.

Wonwoo threw his head back with a sigh when he felt wetness on his ankle, silver chan bruising his ankle in crimson red. "Umm, no-w kiss.” He shuttered when he felt Mingy’s desperate kiss on his leg, like he was just waiting for a command from his owner.

"Fuc-k, Scarbie, you are so hot.” He started to kiss near Wonwoo's thighs, painting them with his mark.

Wonwoo gripped the bedsheet in a tight grip when suddenly kisses turned into sucking and biting as he closed his eyes with a moan. “ Fuc-k Mingyu right there.” He lacthed onto the old hickey, sucking hard enough to make the smaller man arch off the bed with a small whine.

"Mingyu, stop,” Wonwoo suddenly commanded when he felt Mingy's hand on the opening of his robe as he fisted Mingu’s hair in a tight grip, stopping all his moments.

“ What ?” Mingyu growled as he looked at Wonwoo in confusion, annoyance written on his face.

Wonwoo giggled as he brought Mingyu's face in front of him. “Who gave you the right to be annoyed, babe, after not picking up my phone for a week? Bad dogs don’t get rewards; they are punished.”

“What the fudge, Scarbie? Please, babe, forgive me, sweetheart.” Mingyu begged as Wonwoo pushed him out of bed with his leg, ” No, now get off. Don’t forget, today’s your brother's wedding. So leave my side and let me get ready too. Bye babe.” Wonwoo said as he threw Mingyu out of his room.

“Scarbie, please, at least suck me off.” Wonwoo rolled his eyes as he untied his robe, hearing Mingyu beating his door with his fist.

“Get out.”

—--------------------
Chan sat with Yeonjun in the dining room, right across from his uncle, Yoon Hyun-woo, and his aunts, Yoon Hana and Yoon Eunji. His cousins were all seated around him.

The eldest cousin, Yoon Iseul, eyed him suspiciously and asked, “Chan, what’s your major?”

“I don’t remember,” Chan replied, shrugging his shoulders and stuffing his hands into his coat pockets.

“Must be law, right, oppa?” Jihye chimed in, leaning toward him with a sweet smile.

“It’s business,” Yeonjun interjected, smiling and winking at Jihye, who immediately looked disgusted and confused.

Chan glared at Yeonjun, thinking, The traitor. Yeonjun gulped and stopped winking at her.

“But why, oppa? Didn’t you want to study law?” Jihye whispered, her gaze questioning.

“Uncle must have stopped him,” Jiwoo said as he continued to eat, stuffing his face with dumplings.

“Jiwoo, stop eating! At least wait for Uncle. Your parents are watching you with embarrassment,” Jiyeon scolded, trying to stop Jiwoo from eating. It was a family rule that no one could eat until the eldest, Chan's father, Yoon Do Hyun, touched his food.

“Let him eat,” Iseul laughed, patting Jiyeon on the back.

What a zoo, Chan thought, leaning back with a tired sigh.

“Chan-ah, are you alright? Drink some water, sweetheart,” Jihoon said, his eyes filled with concern.

“No, I’m fine, Hyung,” Chan replied.

“Darling, listen to Hyung and drink some water,” Jeonghan said, passing him a glass of water.

“What happened to him?” Yoon Hana asked, looking at Jeonghan for an answer.

“Nightmares,” Jeonghan responded coldly.

“Well, that’s none of your business, dear aunt,” Chan snapped, glaring at her as he took a gulp of water.

“Honey, see how rude this boy is, talking to his aunt like that,” she complained to her husband, who looked at Chan with angry eyes.
What a wife lover, Chan said it sarcastically as he kept the glass on the table.
"Excuse," his other aunt began, but was interrupted by a voice from behind him.

"Chan, did you take your medicine?”

Chan's body froze. That voice—the voice of the woman who had taken his mother's place—the woman his father had replaced his mother with—Yoon Soyeon—his stepmother. She was also his mother's sister, making her the aunt he should be calling "aunt," but destiny had twisted her role into something he could never accept as "mother."

"You don’t need to know about that," Chan hissed, turning to glare at her. She wore a red dress, her eyes sharp and firm. The moment she entered, the room was filled with a familiar scent of citrus and florals.

"You have to take them, Chan," she said, approaching him.
"And who are you to tell me that? Don’t pretend to be my mother," Chan huffed as he stood up abruptly, startling everyone. Silence engulfed the room.

"But I am your mother, Yoon Chan," Soyeon said, glaring at him as she stood in front of him.

"No, you are not. You can never take my mother's place. You can never be her," Chan whispered, stepping forward and tilting his head to the side. "No matter how much you try, you’ll always be a homewrecker." He folded his arms, smirking at her.

"Wow, wow, Soyeon, don’t waste your time on him. See how he is behaving," his eldest aunt, Yoon Eunji, interjected.

"Well, worry about your husband, Aunt Eunji," Chan retorted sharply. "I saw him with another woman. I wonder what you'd do if someone like Ms. Soyeon entered your life."

A stunned silence followed Chan's words. Eunji's face flushed with anger and embarrassment, but before she could respond, his father entered the room.

"Chan-ah, calm down,” Jihoon whispered as he looked at him with a worried gaze.

Soyeon tried to look hurt as she maintained her composure. "I only want what’s best for you, Chan."

"What's best for me?" Chan scoffed. "You wouldn't know what's best for me if it hit you in the face."

“What happened?” His father asked as he slowly looked at Soyeon, questioning her with his gaze. “Nothing, let’s just ea-”

“Chan was talking back to her.” Yoon Ha Na said as she looked at me with a smile on her face, making me disgusted.

Do Hyun's face hardened as he growled, "Chan, this behavior is unacceptable. Apologize now."

“ You don’t even know the whole scenario, Father, and you are asking me to say sorry, I'm not apologizing for speaking the truth. I was just making her remember her home wrecker journey." Chan spitted as he glared toward his father.

“I was just caring for you, Chan.” Soyeon said as she looked toward my father with tears in her eyes.

“You don’t have to do that. My brother is still here for that. Certainly I don’t need advice from a woman who was warming my father’s bed behind the back of my mother.” Chan said as everyone gasped at his words.

Chan walked toward her as he whispered, “Everyone work hard to hide what they truly are and you are no exception, Soyeon-shi”

Chapter Text

In shadows deep where whispers dwell,

A heart may falter, yet rise from hell.

With courage bright, the soul takes flight,

To find the dawn beyond the night.

I gazed at my reflection in the mirror. I never imagined this day would arrive so soon—the day I would break free from this hell. Yet, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my happiness was misplaced. Leaving one hell only to step into another wasn’t exactly the thrilling idea one should have in life.

But there it was—a familiar spark ignited within me, curiosity to explore more than the boundary of Lee mansion. The thought was both intoxicating and terrifying. Living with the Choi family felt like wandering into a den of wolves, each member a predator cloaked in a facade of civility.

The last time I encountered them, I noticed the forced smiles plastered on some of their faces, a veneer that barely concealed the tension beneath. Not everyone wore the same mask, though; some faces were etched with genuine malice, their eyes glinting with unspoken threats.

I chose this path. I chose to enter this game, and now it was time to carve out my place in that house. Whether by subtlety or force, it didn’t matter.

“Young master, your father is waiting for you outside.”

Ah, the invitation to my own funeral. I hummed softly as I rose, applying a final touch of pink tint to my lips.

—-------------

There he stood at the altar, clad in an exquisite suit, one hand casually resting in his pocket. I held the flower of death in my grasp while my other hand intertwined with my father's, who escorted me toward him. My gaze drifted to the other side, where my brothers sat with their fiancées, their faces a mask of stoicism, devoid of emotion.

The hall was adorned with elegant floral arrangements and twinkling lights. Classical music mingled in the background.

“Stop looking at your brothers; focus on Seungcheol,” my father instructed, his tone brooking no argument. I fought the urge to roll my eyes, stifling a huff as I shifted my gaze toward Seungcheol, instantly registering the frown etched on his face.

“What?” I mouthed, raising my eyebrows in question. Seungcheol’s frown deepened for a moment before he masked it with a neutral expression, but I could see the tension lurking beneath the surface.

We approached the altar, my gaze cast downward and my heart racing so rapidly that I was certain the man before me could hear it. My father placed my hand on his, the rough texture of his skin contrasting sharply with my own softness. I gripped his hand tightly, pouring all my strength into the squeeze, fully aware it wouldn’t faze him. The frown on my face deepened when he just gave my hand a light squeeze.

“Stop glaring like an angry kitten.” Loud snicker escaped my mouth as I stood infront of him. “ Don’t call me that,” I said while glaring at him.

“Angry kitten? Don’t you like it…. Then should I call you a wildcat?” Seungcheol said while chuckling as he held Chan hand tighter. “Don’t call me anything” Chan huffed, snatching his hand from seungcheol grip.

Chan closed his eyes, wising the end of this boring ceremony.

—-------------------------

“Don’t you dare kiss me on the lips,” Chan whispered as Seungcheol came closer to him for the ceremony's completion, causing Seungcheol to raise an eyebrow as he slipped his hand around Chan's waist, pulling him closer.

“Isn’t it ironic? You didn’t think like that when you kissed me in front of my guests that day,” Seungcheol said, tilting his face to Chan's level.

“That was because your sister pissed me off! I wasn’t dying to kiss you,” Chan replied, his voice dripping with accusation.

“That doesn’t justify anything; you still harassed me,” Seungcheol said, making Chan widen his eyes. “Harassed? Fine, fine, just make it quick then.” Chan closed his eyes in a hurry and took a step closer to Seungcheol, who just watched him with amusement.

Seungcheol gently grabbed his jaw with his finger as he look at him with intensity . “You’re really something, wildcat,” he said, and instead of placing his lips on Chan’s, he softly kissed his cheeks as the quiet hall erupted into cheers and applause for the newlyweds.

------------------------

“Chan-ah, everyone is waiting for us outside,” Jihoon said, settling beside him and wrapping an arm around his waist, resting his chin on Chan’s shoulder.

“Who cares? Let them starve. Can’t a person mourn the ruins of his life in peace?” Chan gripped the railing tightly, his knuckles turning white as he rested his head against it, closing his eyes against the world. The weight of the moment pressed heavily on his chest, a suffocating reminder of everything he was leaving behind.

“I know this is difficult for you, darling, but we can’t change what’s happened. All we can do is be strong and face it like the fierce champions we are, hmm?” Jihoon said, gently patting Chan's head, his voice soothing yet firm. Chan let out a soft whine, the comfort of Jihoon’s touch battling against the storm of emotions swirling within him.

“But Hyung, I will miss you and Jeonghan Hyung too much,” Chan confessed, his voice barely above a whisper, tinged with sadness. The thought of leaving behind the two people who understood him best was almost unbearable.

“We know, and we will miss you just as much, darling,” Jeonghan chimed in as he stepped onto the expansive balcony, wrapping his arms around both of his brothers from behind. His embrace was warm and reassuring, a silent promise that they would always be there for him, no matter the distance.

“Let’s not linger here too long, or that psycho Soyeon will have our heads,” Jihoon huffed, making Chan and Jeonghan chuckle softly. The lightness of their laughter momentarily chased away the heaviness in Chan’s heart.

—-------------

Chan stared at the plate in front of him, boredom creeping in as everyone around him engaged in lively conversation. Suddenly, a little tug at his sleeve broke his concentration. “Hey, beautiful, can I sit on your lap?” A small girl grinned up at him, her crooked teeth peeking through her smile. Chan raised an eyebrow, momentarily questioning if he had heard her correctly.

“Somi, come here and sit with me. Don’t disturb him,” Seungcheol interjected, reaching out to grab her hand.

“It’s okay, little girl, come here,” Chan said, gently taking her hand and pulling her toward him faster than Seungcheol could react.

“I am not a little girl; I am this old man’s sister!” Somi declared as she settled comfortably on Chan’s lap.

“What??” Chan exclaimed, glancing at Seungcheol and Mr. Choi in shock.

“Don’t be shocked, pretty brother-in-law. I’m his only sister who is nice, but you know he acts more like my dad than my brother,” Somi whispered conspiratorially, though her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. Seungcheol shot her a glare, but she only tightened her grip around Chan’s waist and poked her tongue out at him.

“Really?? I hope he can act more like a human—”

“Mr. Yoon and I were discussing something yesterday. We’re afraid that Chan might feel uncomfortable in a new environment, so we were thinking of sending his cousin, Iseul, with him for a few days.” Soyeon said, looking at Chan as if asking for his agreement, which made Chan snicker.

“If Chan finds it difficult, then why not?” Mrs. Choi agreed, smiling at Chan.

“No need. Yeonjun will be there, Mrs. Lee. I just got married, and you’re already thinking of sending a maid? Thank you, but it’s useless.” Chan replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he noted the discomfort rippling through the room.

“Don’t be rude, Chan,” Soyeon huffed, glaring at him, her expression quickly fading when she saw Seungcheol raising an eyebrow at her.

“I didn’t know you were this generous, helping Aunt Hana find her daughter a suitable job,” Chan continued, leaning toward his stepmother with a playful grin, making Hana furrow her brow while some of the Choi members stifled smiles at his antics.

“Let’s not talk about it anymore. Everyone in the Choi mansion will ensure that he is more than comfortable there,” Seungcheol said, leaning back as if the entire hall revolved around him, his eyes scanning everyone with a predatory gleam as Chan shifted his gaze toward him, squinting and whispering, “As if.”

—-------------------------

“Uff this old man is fucking boring..” That’s the only thing that was roaming in my mind from the fucking past hour as I eyed the man beside me, scrolling on his phone as this was the only job he got.

“Fucking hell” I huffed, leaning back on the backseat while folding my arms, eyeing the view that was continuously shifting by the second as the car was leading to Choi mansion.

“Don’t curse, Caro,” Seungcheol replied without looking up, his tone as calm and collected as ever.

I scoffed at his audacity. “Oh, so you know how to talk! Good to know you’re not mute,” I shot back, raising an eyebrow.

“Be careful with your words, Caro,” he said, finally putting his phone down with a sigh, his gaze now locked on me.

That calm demeanor of his was suffocating. It made me want to push his boundaries, to see how far I could go without breaking his composed facade, which felt less dangerous than other.

“You’re not my father to tell me that,” I huffed, noticing him grip his thigh more tightly, a clear sign that my tone was getting under his skin. My inner self smirked, reveling in the fact that he do come in those freak who despise disobedience and disrespect.

“It’s not like you would have listened to your father, bello,” Seungcheol remarked, leaning back casually, one hand resting behind me as he tapped the seat rhythmically.

I squinted at him. “Pff, if I wouldn’t have listened to him, I wouldn’t have married your old ass,” I whispered, just loud enough for him to hear. He ran a hand through his hair, a long sigh escaping his lips.

“You talk too much, Caro,” he said suddenly, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward him. The unexpected movement startled me, and a loud squeak escaped my mouth. “What the—”

“Shh, be quiet,” I glared at him. “How can I be quiet when your stupid ass is gripping me like this?” I huffed, trying to wriggle free from his hold on my waist.

“Stay still, Caro, or the next place to sit will be my lap, and you know I won’t hesitate,” he whispered, sending a shiver down my spine.

“Whatever,” I muttered, diverting my gaze to anything but him as my body relaxed against his arm, the tension between us palpable.

Chapter Text

You can’t sleep in the same bed as me. Find yourself another place to sleep,” Chan shouted, glaring at the muscular man standing before him.

Seungcheol sighed, his usual calm demeanor faltering as he spoke with as much patience as he could muster.

“Listen, kiddo, the bed is big enough to fit four people, so be a good boy and let me rest.”

Chan glared sharply, his hands flailing as if they could physically push the larger man away. “I don’t care! Go sleep on the sofa! Shoo, shoo! Now go! I want to have my beauty sleep!”

Seungcheol huffed, taken aback. It was the first time the biggest chaebol in the country was being shooed away, and it was coming from his little husband. He slowly walked closer to Chan, his smile morphing into a smirk as Chan’s eyes widened in alarm. “Hey, mister, what are you doing?” Chan stammered, taking a few steps back.

With a swift motion, Seungcheol draped an arm around Chan’s waist, lifting him effortlessly. Chan squeaked, digging his nails into Seungcheol’s back as he shouted loudly enough for all the family members to hear.

“Put me down, Old man!” Chan protested, but his voice was drowned out as Seungcheol tossed him onto the bed, hovering over him. He grabbed Chan’s wrists tightly with one hand.

“Shh, Caro. You’ll make others misunderstand with that voice,” he murmured, his tone assuming.

Chan’s heart raced as he looked up at Seungcheol, surprise flashing in his eyes. “You can’t just manhandle me like that!” he exclaimed, trying to squirm free, but Seungcheol’s grip was steady.

“Why not, we are husbands, in fact we should be doing more than this.” His voice sultry as he pressed himself on Chan who started to wiggle more, his action getting restless as his breath started to get heavier and harsh, eyes closing tightly.

“Darling, are you really that afraid to share the bed with your husband.” Seungcheol whispered, his eyes never leaving the struggling one.

“Please leave me,” Chan whispered, his body stopped struggling, a small sob leaving his mouth, startling Seungcheol as he freed the boy's wrist in hurry, eyes getting wider in surprise.

Chan instinctively moved his now-freed arm to shield his face, hiding behind his small hand as his breath quickened, punctuated by soft hiccups that echoed in the quiet room.

Seungcheol’s playful demeanor melted into genuine concern as he reached out, gently touching Chan’s hand. “Hey, I was just messing with you,” he said softly, his voice laced with warmth.

“Everything is just new for me. It will take time for me to adjust here. I’m sorry for asking for some space,” Chan replied, his voice muffled as he continued to hide his face.

With a reluctant sigh, Seungcheol lifted himself from the bed, reaching for a pillow. His eyes lingered on Chan, the boy’s small frame curled up in the sheets. As he began to move toward the sofa, a soft giggle broke the tension, causing him to pause mid-step.

He turned his body in amusement as he looked at the boy who was sobbing his heart out, now the same boy is giggling out loud.

“Wow my acting skills fooled you big man, your face was so funny gosh….” Chan said as he slowly sat on his bed on his knees, pushing his hair back dramatically with a wink,”You lost the first fight, old man. According to the rules, you deserve to sleep on the sofa, be brave and admit your defeat.”

“And who made those rules and now I am not leaving the bed at all, It's my bed. If you have any problem you should go and sleep on the sofa.” Seungcheol huffed as he moved toward bed and throwed himself on the bed, occupying 80 percent of the bed, looking at Chan with a raised eyebrow as he put his arms behind his head in support.

“No, that's not how this works, get up old man. Chan shouted as he stood up on bed,”or I will throw this jar full of water on you.”

Seungcheol's eyes widened,”Don’t you dare you devil or I will block your black card.”

“You can’t do that,” Chan frowned as Seungcheol smirked in response,”try me.”

Chan huffed as he left the jar on the side table hastily and sat on bed with a frown on face,”A complete jerk.” He muttered.

“I said It before, mind your words Caro,” Seuncheol's playful face turned to a serious one which he usually uses on everyone else, more firm and strict.

Chan scoffed, rolling his eyes in response, slowly peeking his tongue out which usually makes people faint with annoyance.

“Fine keep misbehaving darling, you'll see the consequences in the morning.” Seungcheol said it in a nonchalant tone.

Chan squinted his eyes at the man in front of him, a small pout forming on his face. “Fine, we can share the bed,” he announced loudly.

With that, he playfully pushed Seungcheol a little with his leg and quickly lay down, occupying as much space as he could manage.

“Old man and a cheater,” he whispered, closing his eyes sleepily and turning his back to Seungcheol, who chuckled at the childish antics of the younger.

“Dad, please leave my mom! Don’t hurt her!” a small figure shouted, pounding on the door with his tiny fists. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he cried louder, the sound of glass breaking echoing through the house.

His shaky hands attempted to grip the doorknob, knowing it wouldn’t budge. Helpless, he stomped his foot on the floor, his sobs growing more desperate.

Jeonghan stood nearby, his heart heavy, watching the smaller boy with tears in his own eyes. He hugged Jihoon with one arm, who buried his face in his brother’s chest, hands pressed against his ears in a futile attempt to block out the chaos.

With a sigh, Jeonghan scooped Channie into his arms, gently pulling him away from the door. “Channie, let’s go to my room. They aren’t fighting, sweetheart,” he said softly, grabbing Jihoon’s hand with his other hand as they began to walk upstairs.

“Hyung, when will this stop?” Jihoon asked, his voice thick with sorrow.Jeonghan hesitated, unable to answer.

He didn’t know why this was happening. How could he offer false hopes to his younger brothers when he himself was lost in confusion and fear?“Soon, little one. Please stop crying,” he replied, trying to soothe them both, though his own heart felt heavy with uncertainty.

Once, their parents had been like any other couple—clingy and sweet, full of laughter and love. Even when Jihoon was born, they had been happy. Life had been lovely, a family filled with joy. But now, they were like a shattered cup, irreparably broken, with pieces missing and no way to mend it.

Jeonghan couldn’t pinpoint when everything changed. It had crept in like poison. Their father began coming home drunk from parties, his company growing but at a cost. The pressure mounted, and he spent less time with them, his angry expression becoming a permanent fixture on his face.

Then the nightmare began. It started with a single slap, but it escalated quickly. The abuse became relentless, leaving their bodies bruised and broken. Their mother, once vibrant and full of life, now cried in despair, unable to speak or eat, trapped in her own suffering.

Chan's breath started to get heavier as he grabbed the bed sheet tighter with his fist, his head ringing louder.

“No…stop…” He whispered softly, body shaking as something else flashed in front of his eyes.

The young boy was sitting on the chair just like last time, face blurry and unclear. It was dark, complete silence in the room. His eyes closed, his body unmoving.

Chan saw two women standing in front of that little boy, talking to each other. They were back facing him, both wore red dress. Their hair is long with red heels.

He tried to move his body but couldn't

“I told you not to hurt them, you couldn't do anything.”

“But this small devil saw me and you told me there will be no one there except him.”

“I didn't know okay, What should we do now?”

Chan's grip on the bed sheet tightened further, his head pounding with confusion and fear. With a groan, he opened his eyes and sat up in bed.

He scanned the room, his gaze landing on the other figure sleeping beside him.

Slowly, he wiped the sweat forming on his forehead. "Again with these weird dreams... gosh..." he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair.

His stomach growled loudly, making him groan in annoyance. "This is not the best time to be hungry, dear stomach," he complained, glancing at the sleeping vampire beside him.

With a reluctant whine, he looked at Seungcheol, hesitating for a moment before deciding to wake him. He gently placed his palm on Seungcheol's arm, shaking him lightly. When he received no response, he shook him harder

"Wake up Vampire." He whined, patting him with his palm with both of his hands.

"Why the hell are you hitting me?" Seungcheol hissed, glaring at the little figure who had backed away his hand.

"I wasn't hitting you; I was waking you up, old man," Chan huffed, hugging the pillow tighter.

"Wake me only when there's a natural disaster or someone is dead, okay? Kiddo, now go back to sleep," Seungcheol groaned, burying his head in the bed with a muffled sigh.

Chan pouted, feeling a mix of annoyance and irritation. "But I'm hungry," he protested, giving Seungcheol a whack on the head with the pillow he was holding.

“Fine I am ringing this bell, In two minutes some maid will come, tell them what you want.” Seungcheol said with sharp eyes as he rang the buzzer on the side table,”And don't wake me up again, did you understand Caro??” He continued as Chan gave a fast nod and with that he stuffed his face again on the bed.

“A mean jerk.” Chan whispered as he squinted at the sleeping vampire beside him, hissing at him lightly.

“Only If I was at Jeonghan Hyung place. He would have cooked something for me.” He whispered as he hugged the pillow tighter with a sigh, eyes not leaving from the man beside him.

—----

"What the hell, how can you be sure he won't remember anything, Soyeon? He doesn't even live with you anymore!" a voice on the phone exclaimed, frustration evident in their tone. Soyeon sat near the window, her brow furrowed as she listened intently.

"I'm doing what I can manage! It's not my fault he's so stubborn," she replied, her voice rising slightly. "I'm trying to send Iseul with him so she can help manage his medication. Just give me some time."

"Fine," the voice snapped back, and with that, the call ended abruptly. Soyeon rubbed her temples, feeling the weight of her frustration settle heavily on her shoulders.
