Chapter 1: An Evening Stroll
Notes:
Hey guys!
Rainy here to show a new Lucifer series! Now this one I’ve been working on/off for months and wrote SO many other Lucifer stories that I knew I had to post them one day! After a lot of thinking, I made the decision to make them an entire series that are intertwined with one another.
This one is part 2 of the series I’m writing and is something I consider will be a major factor in the reader and Lucifer’s relationship as a whole.
But also the idea of what they work on together is something I’ve imagined for the longest time since getting into obey me! And I can just see this happening!
I hope you guys enjoy this series!!
Chapter Text
You couldn’t sleep. It wasn’t anxiety or anything bugging you, you were just to wound up right now and sleep was the last thing on your mind. Thank goodness tomorrow wasn’t a RAD day. Because if it was, you sure as hell knew Lucifer would’ve been scolding you for not getting enough sleep. Yet here he was, working into the latest parts of the night on paperwork that Diavolo would pile onto him. As much as you liked Diavolo, you wished he would take some of his responsibilities as Prince more seriously, especially with paperwork.
The clock in your room ticked away as each second passed before accumulating into minutes. Normally that would’ve lulled you to sleep right about now; but tonight was one of those nights that it wasn’t going to happen. Maybe you could bug Belphie for a sleeping spell? No, he gets annoyed if you woke him up in the middle of the night. And not to mention, he’s still sore from all the running he did thanks to being chased by Cerberus from when Lucifer punished him and Satan.
Not to mention, if he casted it, you’d collapse on the spot. So that was out of the question. Maybe a warm drink? Eh, Beel probably ate and drank everything in the fridge by now. You had been meaning to speak with Lucifer about getting a refrigerator outside the house that would need some kind of code, one Beel would never know about. It was a cruel idea yeah, but knowing how Beel’s stomach was a bottomless void, it would do justice to have a walk-in fridge outside of the house.
“Well,” you sigh. “I don’t see a point staying in bed. Maybe some time in the gardens will help tire me out.” You gently got up from your bed, grabbed your hoodie and beanie since it was cold out tonight, and grabbed your house shoes. You quickly made your way over to your desk and grabbed your D.D.D., a journal you’ve been writing in as of late along with a pen from your desk and a book on pacts between demons and humans you rented from The Royal Library.
You made your way to your bedroom door and opened it quietly before glancing around to see if any of the brothers you were residing with were up. Normally Beel would be up for one of his legendary “midnight fridge raids”, and Lucifer would be in his study, burning the midnight oil. The moment your thoughts wandered to Lucifer, your cheeks began to turn a bright red.
The truth was you had feelings for Lucifer since the moment you first arrived to the Devildom. The moment you laid eyes on him, that was it- you were in love. While the two of you didn’t start off on the right foot in your relationship, and you knew he was only being nice to you to make his boss, Lord Diavolo, the prince of the Devildom and future king look good, you and him eventually came to a mutual understanding, formed a pact and developed a deep bond alongside his brothers (that of course after you helped work out his family’s personal issues, thank you human-world college psychology class and self help books you purchased at the bookstore). After everything, your feelings for him grew to a deep love and you saw him as a close and dear friend. If he didn’t feel the same as you, you were okay with that.
You honestly enjoyed his company and wished you could spend more time with him; but you knew his work was top priority and you respected that. Still, you wished he would put his health first, being a tens of millions of years old demon be damned! Health comes first! You began to quietly close your bedroom door, tiptoeing your way through the halls of House Lamentation and avoiding the squeaky floorboards that you’ve come to know so well. You memorized each one, so you didn’t disturb anyone when you made trips to the kitchen for water at night.
Well, this time it wasn’t a kitchen trip, more of a semi-sneaking-out-of-the-house-to-walk-the-gardens-and-maybe-write-in-your-journal-to-help-burn-that-random-pent-up-energy you-suddenly-acquired type of night. It was a simple plan: walk around the garden and enjoy the fresh air, write some stuff in your journal down, and then get tired and go back inside before anyone realizes you’re out, simple as that.
Classical Devildom music played on the record player as Lucifer signed a few more pieces of paper that needed to get to Diavolo as soon as possible. He was tired, well- when you were a workaholic like him, that was the understatement of the millennia. He had a migraine the size of Mammon’s debt, and when he gets those, you know he’s in no mood for shenanigans! Coffee has little effect on him at this point, he looked disheveled, and the words were starting to become jumbled. Did he want to take break? Well, he needed it, but he was The Avatar of Pride, he could get through this!
As his fountain pen scratched away at another bill Mammon racked up, he felt a spell he placed on the house alert him. Years ago, he placed spells on all the doors and windows of House of Lamentation that activate at night and alert him when someone opened the door or window and left. He casted it so Mammon or Asmo couldn’t sneak out to cause anymore schemes or go party, and it always came in handy for certain.
“Who could be sneaking out at this hour?” He grumbles to himself. Whoever it was, did it at a real bad time. He stood up from his chair and looked out the large window behind him to see who even dared sneak out. You could imagine his surprise when he saw you quietly leaving the house in your pajamas, a beanie and hoodie along with the house shoes you wore around the property. What also caught his attention was the notebook, pen and old tome you had in your hands and how you made your way to the gardens. What were you doing at this hour?
Without hesitation, Lucifer grabbed his long, luxurious coat, fixed his appearance to look more presentable, and made his way downstairs to confront you in the gardens, you better have a good excuse as to why you were out.
The night air was cool, but not enough to show your breath, but still warrant a hoodie. The large garden maze of House of Lamentation always gave you a sense of serenity and protection when you walked them. They had to be some of the most beautiful works you’ve seen when it came to gardening. You yourself didn’t have much of a green thumb, the only thing you actually successfully grew back in the human world was a small strawberry bush, but other than that, you had no talent with growing plants.
The serine walk did calm you down somewhat, and you could feel all that wired up energy finally beginning to calm down, albeit very little. You made at least one or two laps around the maze before finding the nearby gazebo and deciding to relax on one of the benches before waving your fingers in the air to create a small orb of light to provide some form of light.
Once nestled in, you cracked open your journal, then opened the book on pacts and began to write out some theoretical magical formulas in the journal. Mostly about how pacts work along with the possibility of needing runes for what you’re working on to work, along with a few theoretical formulas you learned how to write out thanks to your Spell Casters classes at RAD and through your private lessons with Solomon, you were possibly getting somewhere.
You’ve been working on this project of yours for weeks. It started after you and Levi marathoned two of your favorite animes from the human world. In one, later on in the series, the leading lady who worked with spirits, gained the ability to change her clothing into something corresponding to the spirit she was contracted with. The outfits were similar to the spirit, and she gained abilities similar to said spirit. The other? Humans going to dungeons where powerful beings laid and are “captured” by humans using metal objects. Eventually the humans learn to weld the powerful beings’ powers and their clothes change to correspond said being.
It gave you an idea watching them; what if you could do that with your pacts with the brothers? Was such a thing possible? It would be amazing if you could wear clothing similar to their demon forms and wield their powers with your own bare hands, or let alone be able to fly! So far, your research was going well, but you still had a long way to go before you could say such a thing is possible.
“(Y/n), what are you doing up at this hour?” A voice startled you from your concentration and almost caused you to ruin the paper you were writing in. You glance to your left to find Lucifer, standing outside the gazebo with his arms crossed and a not-so amused look on his face. Aww crap, busted. And from how he looks right now, he doesn’t look like he’s in the mood for bullshit.
“Oh, hey Lu!” You smile, easing into things. “Nice evening, huh?”
“While I agree with you, it still doesn’t answer my question as to why you’re out here.” His hand was now over his chest like it normally was, his eyes half-lidded but looking unamused with you being out here. And the red in his eye color was now more prominent. You knew that look, it was when he was in a distrusting or annoyed mood.
You blinked and let out a sigh.
“I couldn’t sleep.” You admit truthfully, “I’m a little too wound up. So, I came to the gardens to walk and just get some fresh air to get rid of that energy.” Lucifer carefully studied you to see if you were lying but knew immediately you were telling the truth. He then glanced down to the journal in your hand, he noticed you’ve been writing in it as of late, along with reading books involving pacts between demons and humans. He figured it was just a personal journal, but now he was curious. What were you up to that warranted such an interest in these books when you already knew how to use his and his brothers’ powers and summon them?
“(Y/n),” he spoke up. “Do you mind if I ask what you’ve been writing in that journal of yours? You’ve been carrying it everywhere you go as of late. And not to mention, you’ve been reading books on pacts as of late.” You blinked in surprise before looking down at the journal. Man, nothing gets past this demon! But honestly, it wasn’t like you were trying to hide anything, you just weren’t ready to reveal it…well, maybe telling Lucifer wouldn’t be too bad an idea; he is pretty powerful when it comes to magic and he’s the strongest demon you’re packed with. Not only that, but he’s also pretty clever too.
“It’s kind of a theory I’ve been working on in my spare time.” You explained as you looked to the First Born.
“A theory?” He responds as he made his way over to you and then sat beside you.
“Well, I’m hoping it’s more than a theory after I work on a few things. But I was introducing some of my personal favorite anime to Levi from my world a few weeks ago, and in one of them, the leading lady is kind of in a similar situation with me and my pacts with you and your brothers. One where she uses keys to summon spirits from a different world to help her. Later on, she develops an ability where she takes the key and is able to transform her clothes into something corresponding to the spirit the key belongs to and is also able to use said spirit’s magical abilities while dressed in said clothes.”
“I don’t believe I’m following.” Lucifer breathes, arms now crossed.
“It got me thinking:” you further explained. “What if it’s possible I could do something similar with my pacts? I mean, there may be times where I’m not around you or your brothers. And I can’t always rely on summoning you guys or just simple magic. So, if this theory works-“
“You could be able to defend yourself more easily.” Lucifer realizes.
“Exactly!” You smile. “But also, it will allow me to fight more alongside you and your brothers if the moment calls for it. The theory itself is a long shot; but I think it could be plausible. There are just a few areas in this theory that need a few kinks worked out before I can put it to the test.” Lucifer stared at you with his red eyes as you looked over the journal you filled with all your notes and research that you’ve been working so hard on.
My human has been working hard. Lucifer muses to himself. Yes, his human. His brothers (especially Mammon) may consider you their’s, but truth be told you belonged to him ever since you made your pact with him. He wasn’t going to force you to realize it, he wanted you to realize it over time. Seeing you work on this theory did however give him an idea; one that could allow him to spend more time with you without his brothers interfering.
“Well,” Lucifer spoke up, “then I’m sure there’s something I can do to help.” You glance up to him in pure surprise at his words, he was going to help you?
“A-are you sure?” You speak with uncertainty. “You’re always so busy with work and dealing with your brothers, I don’t feel comfortable piling more-“
“It won’t be a hassle to me.” Lucifer waves. “I’ll call Diavolo and explain to him your recent findings. I’m sure he’ll be understanding and interested in this theory of yours. Besides, it would be dishonorable of me to not help my pact master in such a wondrous discovery as well as dishonorable not to help you as Lord Diavolo’s right hand man during your stay here in The Devildom.”
Well, it looks like he wasn’t offering to help you, it looked more like he was demanding to help you. Honestly, you didn’t have a problem with that, the only thing you were concerned with was him over-extending himself like he always did. You didn’t mind spending more time with him; in fact- you wanted to. You just didn’t want to see him get burnt out. You loved him, so naturally you were going to be concerned.
“A-alright then!” You smile perking up a little bit, “Let’s work on this together and see if we can make this a reality!” You pulled the First Born into a hug which earned a throaty chuckled from him, he then wrapped his arms around you to return the hug. To you, Lucifer’s hugs were always some of the best.
“Meet me in my study tomorrow morning after breakfast.” Lucifer says to you. “We can begin our work then, I’m truly looking forward to seeing what you have discovered thus far, but for now I think you should return to bed. It is quite late.”
You agreed to that last statement, but you admitted that you think you’d be able to sleep decently tonight.
“Let me walk you back to your room.” Lucifer offers before standing up, facing you and then offering his hand to you which you accepted gracefully.
The two of you walked back in a comfortable silence before making it back to your room and heading back to bed. You were right, you did sleep well that night.
Chapter 2: The Bare Bones
Summary:
Morning soon arrives, and now you and Lucifer begin to get to work on this theory.
Notes:
Alright chapter 2 here we go! Now I admit this chapter, looking back when I was first writing the bare bones of it, I admit my earlier opinions on certain characters were showing, especially when talking about how the pact forms work.
Now for the Solomon fans out there, please bear with me in the chapter, I started playing Obey Me! When Nightbringer came out (I started playing OG later) and some stuff he did didn’t sit right with me when I started playing, but time has passed and my opinion on Solomon has gotten better, but I’m still not too trusting of him haha.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Morning soon arrived and you quickly got changed into your day clothes to go have breakfast with the rest of your housemates. A simple T-shirt with light blue jeans, a light jacket, a beanie hat, a necklace Mammon got you for your birthday and both the Ring of Light and Lilith’s ring, next to each other on your right hand like always. You left your bedroom with a yawn before making it to the dining hall where most of the brothers were straggling about, wishing them a good morning before sitting down.
Today was Satan’s turn to cook breakfast if you remembered the schedule correctly. You were surprised he’s willing to cook considering he was still exhausted from caring for Cerberus with Belphie. But he was the Avatar of Wrath, and you knew he had pretty decent stamina thanks to witnessing his rampages once or twice and how he is in battle. From what you can say, Satan was always a decent cook thanks to reading hundreds of years worth of books on cooking techniques and recipes. Plus, the fact he was someone with a lot of friends and acquaintances who knew their way around a kitchen didn’t hurt. You could literally smell what he was cooking all the way from your room the moment you got up this morning, and you had to be honest, it smelled nice. How Beel didn’t barge in to eat everything was a miracle by The Demon King himself.
Today’s breakfast was mainly a small buffet where everyone could choose what they wanted: waffles, pancakes, toast, eggs, fish, shadow hog bacon, sausages, oatmeal, an assortment of fruits and veggies, coffee, juices or tea, and jams along with butter or margarine. It was one of of Satan’s best you had to admit, and it would keep Beel happy for certain.
You along with the rest of the brothers lined up to gather the foods you wanted on your plate while Beel had at least three small mountains of food in both hands, making sure not to miss a single thing. Fortunately, you weren’t too hungry this morning; but you knew if you were, Beel was always willing to share his plates with you.
The morning was its usual self at House of Lamentation. Lucifer was reading the paper, drinking his coffee, Asmo talking about a modeling gig he had yesterday and how gorgeous he was in it, Levi raving about one of the anime’s you introduced him to, Beel happily munching on his breakfast, Satan silently eating while reading a new book on curses and hexes, Belphie trying to fight his narcolepsy (and losing), and Mammon with a smug smile on his face as if he had a new idea to make some Grimm in mind.
Yeah, it was a quiet start to the morning in The House of Lamentation. And it was only a matter of time before the usual chaos ensued for the day. So, you made sure to have enough caffeine in your system before it started. But you were also going to need to have your wits about you anyhow, today you and Lucifer were going to go over the research you’ve learned so far on pacts between humans and demons and see if taking these dress forms were plausible.
The moments from last night replayed in your mind as Lucifer’s words swam in your head: “Well, then I’m sure there’s something I can do to help.” You couldn’t believe he offered to help with this. Well, Lucifer was always willing to help you if you needed it; but you had no intention of telling him about this theory so soon considering you wanted to surprise him and his brothers. But thinking about it more, it would be good to have someone who’s more experienced with magic than you to offer a hand in case something went wrong with the spell. You didn’t want to end up with a new appendage that was permanent. Plus the fact he was willing to put his own work to the side just to help you really spoke volumes to you in a sense.
It made your heart skip a beat thinking about it.
Lucifer was the first to finish his breakfast and then took his plate to the kitchen to clean it, before sneaking a glance at you and giving a small smile. Afterwords, he left with another piping hot cup of coffee and made his way to his study. Eventually you and the rest of the brothers finished your breakfasts and began to make your way to the kitchen to have Levi clean it since it was his chore this week (along with cleaning the main bathroom).
“Hey (y/n)!” Mammon suddenly spoke up as you picked up your plate. “I got somethin’ planned that could make us alotta Grimm! But we’re gonna need to head to town for it, c’mon! Let’s head out!” He went to grab your hand, but you stopped him politely.
“Thanks Mammon, but not today.” You smile wryly, “I already agreed to meet with Lucifer to discuss something.”
“Wha?!” Mammon chokes. “What the hell is my human doin’ meetin’ with Lucifer?!”
“Well, there’s something I’m working on, and he offered his assistance.” You explained the best you could. “I can’t go into detail about it right now, but you’ll see what it is soon!”
“Aww c’mon (y/n)!” Mammon pouts. “Can’t ya just tell me?! I’m your first man! I have a right to know! We should be able to tell each other everythin’! And can we make a profit off it?!” You of course playfully rolled your eyes at that.
You stared at the Avatar of Greed whom you consider your best friend and gave him a small kiss on his right cheek which made his sienna skin turn pink.
“You’ll find out hopefully soon!” You smile. “If everything goes well, I think you and everyone will be pleasantly surprised.” His face turned pink at your words.
“Aw geez.” Mammon spoke. “When ya say it like that….” You gave him a quick hug which surprised him.
“How about I make it up to you tomorrow by grabbing some lunch? We can go to that new ramen stall that opened up. My treat!” His eyes widened and a smile formed on his face.
“Heheheh ya got it! Of course, The Great Mammon will grace ya with his presence this weekend!” You smiled at him before waving and making your way to the kitchen to drop off your plate and then Lucifer’s study, your journal and D.D.D. in tow.
You made your way to the library with your required items and found the secret door that led to Lucifer’s study. You knocked on the free space in the bookshelf to notify Lucifer of your arrival.
“I’ll be there in a moment.” Lucifer’s voice called out from behind the bookcase. Soon enough, the secret passage opened, causing you to back up and look to find Lucifer standing in the doorway with a smile.
“Are you ready to show me your findings?” He asks.
“You bet!” You happily respond before making your way into the secret passage that led to his study. He followed you close behind, his luxurious jacket flowing in the breeze as you made your way into the study you were oh-so familiar with. To you, when Lucifer followed behind, it felt like a looming shadow ready to devour you, but this shadow is meant to protect your fragile human body and would pounce at any given second if harm came to you. It felt…comforting. Like being wrapped in a secure, dark blanket after a long day while it rained outside, it was nice.
“Tea?” Lucifer offers.
“No thank you.” You smile.
“Very well.” He made his way to his desk where he passed by a chalkboard he brought into the room and sat in his luxury leather chair behind his desk. “Now, last night you said you had a theory you’ve been working on, correct?”
“Yeah!” You nod. You pulled up the video on your D.D.D. and handed it to Lucifer.
“This was a scene from the anime I told you about. It’s when the leading lady changes into that form similar to her spirits.”
Lucifer took the phone and pressed play; he watched the video intently as the leading lady summons one of the spirits she’s contracted with with a golden key before taking the key and placing it on her body. He watched as her clothes began to glow and then changed into a set of clothing that looked similar to what the spirit she was contracted with was wearing.
Now it was making more sense to him.
“So, this is what you want to try and do?” Lucifer asks. “You want to be able to take a clothing form similar to our demon forms.”
“Precisely!” You grin. “I’ve been researching this for about two weeks so far, I even went to The Royal Library with Satan during an outing to try and dive more into the history of pacts, like how they were discovered, and whatnot!” You then gave Lucifer your journal that was filled with your research to let him study and see what you’ve discovered so far. He pulled out his reading glasses before finally setting his eyes on the first page.
He carefully read each page before flipped to the next and nodded at each of your findings that you’ve written in the journal thus far. Such as the discovery of pacts between humans and demons, the need for a good relationship between demons and Pact Master, how many pacts a human can make, you covered it pretty well. He also read the scribbles you made about possible ideas on how to go about bringing this theory to life such as using runes or using a magical item. He studied each written idea and part of the theory with carefulness and grace.
“Have you told Solomon of this theory?” Lucifer finally asks, lowering his reading glasses to the bridge of his nose before folding his hands over your journal.
“No,” you confess sheepishly. “In fact, you’re the first I’ve talked about this with.” Lucifer could feel his pride growing in his chest at that revelation. The fact he was the first you trusted with this really boosted his ego more, but he wasn’t going to show it right now.
“And why is that? He is your mentor after all.” Lucifer points out.
“Well, you know how Solomon can be.” You smile wryly, rubbing the back of your head with your hand uncomfortably. “Very secretive, and while he has many pacts, from what I’ve seen, not all of them really enjoy his company. And if my theory proves to be correct and Solomon discovers my theory, almost every demon who despises Solomon out there may want my head on a silver platter. Barbatos would wipe me from time itself.” Lucifer chuckled at your words; you did have a valid point.
“And besides,” you explain further. “Even if my theory proves correct and Solomon learns of it, I don’t know if he’d even be able to perform it with every pact he has.” Lucifer cocked an eyebrow in pure interest before re-adjusting his reading glasses.
“And what makes you say that?” He responds curiously.
“Pacts are a two-way street when you boil it down.” You explain while drawing quickly on the chalk board two stick figures, one with horns to represent a demon, and another without to represent a human. “It’s equal give and take like any relationship, like how I’d take magic from you, or you’d take from me correct?” You drew a line that was curved above the human to the demon and then drew a curved line below the demon to human to represent the equal-give-and-take. “But also, I theorized that there has to be a strong bond between pact master and demon for this to work entirely.”
You drew a line in between the two stick figures and added a heart in the center to represent a strong bond.
“If both parties have a close bond,” you explain further, “then theoretically, the dress form should work; but if you’re like Solomon and don’t have a great relationship with a majority of your pacts-“
“Then it won’t work.” Lucifer realizes.
“Exactly!” You then cross out the heart and line to signify the not-so strong bond between pact master and demon.
“So, a strong bond is the key here.” Lucifer speaks as he stood up and made his way to the board. “Without it, the theory falls apart.”
“I would say so.” You nod slightly, your cheeks blushing at how close he was getting. “Solomon may be able to do this with Asmo’s dress form and possibly Barbatos’s; but I’m not sure about his relationships with the other 70 demons he’s pacted with.” Lucifer nods in agreement to your words.
“Well then, I would have to say (y/n), you may have just surpassed Solomon as the greatest sorcerer who lived. If this theory is proven correct, you may have changed pacts as a whole for future generations to come.” Your face turned completely red at Lucifer’s words, your heart hammered in your chest at his compliment.
“But I also must confess that it relieves me that a strong bond is needed in order for this to work.” Lucifer muses. “Considering Solomon has a tendency to see his pacts and demons as nothing but his toys, knowing he won’t be able to abuse a pact’s power even further gives me a sense of relief.” You snorted a laugh at his words.
“I’ve been telling him he needs to change his demeanor on the idea of pacts.” You explain. “But he doesn’t see what he’s doing as wrong. It annoys me honestly; I always say to treat people the way you want to be treated. And the same goes for demons and angels.”
“Wise words.” Lucifer nods. “And this is why you’ll go farther than Solomon.” You blushed a bit at his praise. This conversation reminded you of when Lucifer was punishing Diavolo and Solomon after he regained his lost memories.
The situation itself was caused thanks to your growing magical powers, and it caused the three worlds to go into an imbalance, thus causing Lucifer’s memory loss. When hope was almost lost, Diavolo suggested to cut your pacts with the brothers, and Solomon suggested killing Lucifer to power a ritualistic dagger that would sever your pacts. That day almost costed you your life because you chose to kill yourself and not Lucifer, if it weren’t for Simeon’s quick thinking and giving you Lucifer’s old Ring of Light, who knows what would’ve happened.
Lucifer regained his memories; but went on a punishment spree towards Diavolo and Solomon because of how angered he was. You recalled how Solomon asked you with an almost begging tone to call Lucifer off with your pact, and you flat out refused, feeling Lucifer had every right to be angry.
“Why won’t you call him off?” Solomon asked confused.
“Because Lucifer has every single right to be angry and I’m just as angry as he is.” You responded flatly. “I refuse to use my pacts to control his or anyone else’s wills. His anger is justifiable, so I allow him to do what he pleases as long as it’s not crossing any lines. And as for you Solomon, I have something to say to you, and it’s the fact that from here on out, I’m banning you from every trying to make a pact with Lucifer ever again.”
That took everyone by surprise, even Lucifer, who was amazed at how you were standing up for him. No one ever stood up for him like you were right now.
“Oh come now,” smiles Solomon, “surely you don’t mean that-“
“I do.” You deadpan. “And I’m doing it for many reasons, majorly because he told you numerous times he doesn’t want to, and you refuse to take no for an answer. Another is the fact that you wanted me to kill him. As far as I’m concerned, you lost all rights to ask him for a pact right then and there.” Everyone looked in shock, you were barring him from making a pact with Lucifer? Can you even do that?
“Surely you gist (y/n),” laughs Solomon, “if anything, it’s more so Lucifer’s-“
“I’m not saying it to you in his stead.” You cut off, “I’m saying it to you as not only his Pact Master, but as a member of his family. And I refuse to allow anyone I care for to be put in a situation they’re not comfortable in. So if you try to make a pact with him again, you’ll answer to me from here on out. The same goes for the rest of the brothers too. Are we clear?”
Suffice to say, Solomon was now watched like a hawk with every interaction he made with the brothers except for Asmo since he already had a pact with him, so there wasn’t anything by you could do about that. You admit looking back on it, your opinion on Solomon wasn’t the greatest; but in the recent years it’s been a bit better.
“Well,” Lucifer clears his throat. “I believe from the amount of research you’ve put into this, I think something like this would be plausible.” Your eyes widen and begin to sparkle a smidge at his words.
“You think so?” You respond.
“Indeed.” He nods with a smile. “While I feel this may take some time to figure out, I feel there’s a large amount of potential in this theory. One that if found successful, could change pacts as a whole for demons and Pact Masters.”
Your eyes glittered at Lucifer’s words, he really believed this was possible? And he really thinks your theory could make a groundbreaking change with pacts? Man, telling him about it last night was definitely the right way to go.
“Now,” Lucifer begins, “you said you were stuck on some areas of the theory, correct?” You blink for a moment.
“Yeah.” You nod. “I can show you the areas I got stuck on.”
The two of you spent the next few hours working out possible ideas on how the pact forms (you both agreed to the name) can be achieved. So far the theory on magical items was a good start and have the item filled with the demon’s power. But you both scratched that idea considering it was easy to lose said item at times.
But also the idea was hard to project if you got down to it. The magic in it would’ve ran out eventually. Soon enough, you felt the rumble of your stomach which told you now was a good time to take a quick break and have lunch.
“Perhaps we should wrap up work for now and find something to satiate your hunger.” Lucifer spoke up as he closed your journal.
“Yeah.” You nod. “I think Asmo’s cooking lunch today if I’m not mistaken, you going to join?”
“Sadly, I still have paperwork for Diavolo I need to fill out.” Lucifer sighs before he himself felt his stomach rumble. His cheeks flush in embarrassment at that sudden moment.
“Maybe it’s best you take a break too.” You offered in a kind way.
“Nonsense.” Lucifer looks away. “I can continue to work.” You let out a sigh before taking his hand gently into yours and guiding him to the door.
“Come on Lu,” you spoke up. “You should still eat something. Even if you don’t eat with everyone else, you can take your lunch in your study.” Lucifer looked to you before sighing.
“Very well.” He responds. “If it means that much to you, I’ll just grabs some lunch and bring it here.”
“Great!” The two of you were now at the door that led out of his study before you stopped in your tracks to look at the eldest brother, from what he could sense, something was on your mind.
“Hey, are you okay with keeping this theory between us for now?” You ask. “I don’t mind if Diavolo knows, but I want to keep this from your brothers because I want to surprise them.” Lucifer perked up at your request to keep this a surprise.
“Why do you want to keep this a surprise?” He asks.
“Well, I want to see their reactions when I start taking forms of each of you. One of the reasons I didn’t tell you beforehand was I wanted you to be surprised when you saw me take your pact form.” You blushed a little at that part. “Just the thought of me in a gown similar to your demon form I admit is pretty exciting.”
Oh, you have no idea how exciting that idea was to him. The thought of you dressed in a form similar to his and wielding his power would just solidify his claim over you to his brothers. While he truly believed this theory was completely possible and wanted to see it come to fruition, the image of you dressed in a beautiful gown that looked like his clothes in his demon form swam in his head.
How elegant and beautiful you would look in it, how you would have wings that were as black as his and rivals that of an angel’s in beauty. He couldn’t wait to see you dressed in his pact form. He knew you could pull this off, and he was going to support you and this theory every step of the way.
“Not only that,” you add on, “I guess part of it was also my own pride coming into play. I wanted to try and pull this on my own; but since this was tougher than I thought. It’s best you did offer your assistance to me for this. Still, I would like to keep this as a surprise from your brothers until we can unveil the pact forms.” Lucifer nods in understanding before placing his hand on your shoulder.
“Then I shall keep this a secret from my brothers until the time comes.” He smiles.
You pull the demon into a hug.
“Thanks Lu.” You smile as you nestled into the hug, a blush forming on your face. “I’m grateful.” The Avatar of Pride smiles down before hugging you back.
“I’m always willing to help.”
Asmo made for lunch a recipe he found off of Devilgram that was currently the latest trend. He mainly wanted it for Devilgram worthy shots to upload to his page; but he also wanted to make it for lunch, so it killed two birds with one stone in the end. Everyone grabbed their portions to eat at the table, but Lucifer took his in his office so he could get back to his paperwork for Diavolo. You and he promised each other that you would continue to look more into the research after dinner tonight to see if you could make a breakthrough in this theory, but for now he needed to focus on this work for Diavolo.
As he signed another document, a small smirk appeared on his lips. He was thrilled he was now going to have more time alone with you, but also the fact you trusted him first with this theory of yours was just another thing to dangle over his brothers even more. He chuckles to himself as he sat there, signing another piece of paper before taking a bite of his meal.
It was a tad too sweet for his tastes; but then again that’s always been Asmo’s cooking despite how healthy it looked. He took a sip of his drink before looking at another document Diavolo required him to sign before his eyes widened and he placed his drink down; he forgot he needed to let Diavolo know about the theory.
He quickly grabbed his D.D.D. Which was in his pant pocket and immediately pulled up his chat with Diavolo and Barbatos.
The Fabulous Three:
I would like to make a request. :Lucifer
Diavolo: A request? That’s quite rare of you Lucifer.
Diavolo: What is it you need?
I would like to request a cut back in my work, (y/n) has created a theory recently that could change pacts between humans and demons positively and I agreed to help her with the project. :Lucifer
Diavolo: *surprised demoji*
Barbatos: A theory? What is the theory if you do not mind me asking?
The theory itself will allow the Pact Master to take a “dress form” of sorts and allow the Pact Master to wield the demon who’s form they took’s magic more efficiently. :Lucifer
Right now it’s just a theory, but from the research (y/n) put behind it thus far, I believe it’s quite possible.:Lucifer
Barbatos: I see, so you want a cutback in your paperwork to help (y/n) work on this theory of her’s?
Diavolo: *Laughing Demoji*
Diavolo: I’m intrigued by this theory of (y/n)’s!
Diavolo: Lucifer, if you need some cut back in your paperwork so you can help (y/n) in this theory, then by all means! In fact, this theory has my utmost support, any funding needed will be supported!
Barbatos: How generous of you My Lord.
I doubt this is something that’s going to need funding; but the support is appreciated. I will let (y/n) know you fully support the theory. :Lucifer
Diavolo: Keep us updated on the progress of this theory!
Barbatos: I myself am quite curious about this theory and what the final results will be.
_____________end.____________
After ending the conversation, Lucifer placed his phone down, let out a long sigh and got back to signing the paperwork he had on his desk, relieved he’ll have less paperwork, and soon more time with you.
It was definitely his biggest reason for wanting to support this theory.
Notes:
For the food I wanted it to be the reader grabbed whatever they want because I know everyone has a different diet and diet restrictions, so I wanted to leave it to the reader’s imagination on that part.
Chapter 3: Tattered papers
Summary:
A week has passed since you and Lucifer started working together on the theory, and while heading to your next class with Mammon and Asmo, you have an unfortunate run-in with someone you’re not particularly fond of.
Notes:
Okay chapter 3 is out! I really went into detail with this one and did what I be could to perfect it!
Now I want to give a minor warning that there is some bullying in this and mentions of racism.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
A week has passed since Lucifer, and you teamed up to get this theory up and running. The two of you would spend some nights alone in his office, going over books on pacts and writing down every new bit of information you both could get your hands on. Some of these research sessions would lead to late nights and early mornings, or the two of you spending lunch alone in RAD trying to figure out how to pull this off.
You pretty much were carrying that research journal on your person non-stop. Any time you’d have a possible idea on how Pact Forms could happen, you’d write it down in your journal immediately to show Lucifer later. The two of you were far from ready to have to test it out. As Lucifer said, right now it’s too dangerous and could lead to consequences that may cause permanent damage to you. Personally, you thought he was right; you didn’t want this to cause major harm to you or summon something you knew could spell trouble. And you dang well knew you were in no mood to save The Devildom like you did every other week…
Today was a RAD day. You were sitting in your Devildom History class in between Asmo and Mammon, writing down a possible way to get you into a Pact Form, something to run by Lucifer when you have lunch with him today. Who knows, maybe this was the ticket to getting into a Pact Form? Even if you managed it for five seconds it was still a success in your book.
Mammon’s light snores suddenly snapped you out of your writing and made you look to him. His head was nestled in a makeshift pillow he made with his arms, a small amount of drool coming from his mouth. You chuckled at your best friend for a second, for someone as greedy as him, he’s got a cute side to him too.
You gently nudged the Sin of Greed awake and pointed to the teacher as if to signal he needed to listen. While yes you were writing something else in a different journal, you were doing your best to listen to the teacher, even if the lesson wasn’t your favorite. But Mammon wasn’t doing well in this class as of late, and he needed to try and focus more. You glanced over to Asmo who was too busy looking at his own reflection in his compact mirror. Wasn’t surprising, he did that every fifteen minutes if you counted correctly.
The bell soon rang, and everyone got up from their chairs to get out of the room to their next classes. You, Mammon and Asmo soon got up to make your way to your next class: Curses and Hexes. Or Mammon’s least favorite subject to be more precise.
“Man,” Mammon groans. “That lecture was borin’ as all hell.” He was cleaning his ear out with his pinky finger before looking ahead, not caring at all about his next class.
“I was honestly barely paying attention.” Asmo admitted. “I saw my own reflection in the window earlier and I just had to gaze at my beauty! ❤️ but when I couldn’t see it good enough, I just pulled out my mirror to continue looking!”
“Well, it wasn’t my favorite lesson.” You admitted, remembering how you wrote in your research journal instead of everything from the lecture down. You were a decent student, and Lucifer never complained about your grades. “But we should try to look over the textbooks and study, the teacher has a quiz planned at the end of the week.”
“Damnit.” Mammon groans. “If I fail, Lucifer’ll kill me for certain…”
“Might be time for a group study session then?” You ask.
“Oooh! I’m all down for a study session with (y/n)! ❤️” Asmo said before hugging your arm. “Maybe we can make it a sleepover too…”
“Oi!!” Mammon glares to the 5th-born, “Ya ain’t doin’ a study session alone! I’m joinin’!” Okay that’s one way to get Mammon to study.
“By the way (y/n),” asks Asmo suddenly. “are you planning to join us for lunch today? I need to tell you all about my new photo shoot I’ll be doing soon!” You glanced over to the Avatar of Lust before speaking.
“Actually, I can’t.” you admit sheepishly. “I promised Lucifer we could have lunch today.” Not only that, but you also wanted to show him some new possibilities on how to perform the Pact Forms to him. Mammon side glanced you with a look of his usual comical jealousy before Asmo pouted at your words.
“You’ve been having alone time with Lucifer a lot lately.” Asmo responds. “Is there something naughty going on between you both?”
“W-wha?!” You blush in embarrassment.
“Oi!” Mammon growls in jealousy. “There better not be!”
“No,” you try to explain, “we’re working on a-“
Bump!
You found yourself bumping into what felt like a wall and look to see Mephistopheles, a demon you honestly weren’t fond of.
“Watch where you’re going!” He chided. “You should pay attention!”
“Sorry Mep!” You respond, hands up innocently. “It was an accident- honestly!” You called him Mep because you once tried pronouncing his name, gave up after ten minutes of trying and told him:”Whatever, I’m just gonna call you Mep. Your name is a fucking nightmare.” You even remember how the brothers except Lucifer were cackling like hyenas when you said that.
“I swear,” Mephistopheles sighs, “you humans are all the same; not paying attention to what’s in front of you.” You rolled your eyes at his prejudice remarks before ignoring him, walking away with Mammon and Asmo and pulled out a pen to write something down in your research journal that came into mind. Who knows, maybe this will be what gets you into a Pact Form…
“What is that book you’re constantly writing in?” Mephistopheles narrowed, pointing at your research journal. You held it tighter to your chest and backed away, not wanting him anywhere near you. “I’ve been seeing you write in that journal a lot as of late. A lot of us have, and it’s not one of your RAD standard books.”
“It’s none of your concern what is in this book.” You respond matter of factly. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a class to attend to.” You walked away from Mephistopheles but were surprised when he grabbed you by the wrist, yanking you away from Mammon and Asmo.
“Oi!” Mammon hollers. “What’s the big idea doin’ that to her?!”
“Let go of her!” Asmo angrily yells before he and Mammon got in between you and Mephistopheles and yanked you away from him, but he managed to grab your journal filled with your research. Just what you needed, this gossip column writer getting a hold of your research.
“Failure to comply is prohibited by RAD rules.” He responds. “It’s quite obvious you’re trying to hide something if you failed to give me this journal you’re carrying. What are you plotting? To take down Lord Diavolo? Oh what a scoop that would be! ‘Human Exchange Student caught attempting to destroy Devildom Hierarchy!’”
”Diavolo is a dear friend!” You respond with anger laced in your voice, “I would never harm him! Give me back my journal right now!” You grabbed the book and attempted to pull it from the demon but was failing due to difference in strength, damn that demonic strength of his.
Asmo and Mammon joined in and started pulling at the journal, doing their best to help you in this situation.
“Give it back!” Asmo screeched.
“Yeah!” Mammon responds, “It ain’t ya property!”
“That’s rich coming from you!” Mephistopheles barks while trying to pull your journal to him. “I’m only doing what’s right for Lord Diavolo and RAD and taking this book to the Student Council with the knowledge this lowly human is planning something!”
“Leave my race and Mammon out of this!” You holler at him. “And stop pulling at my journal! You’re going to ruin it!”
A crowd began to form around the four of you as you attempted to pull the book away from each other, but soon an audible tearing noise could be heard; the book was beginning to tear from the seams. Your eyes widened in fear for a second.
“Stop!” You holler. “You’re going to break it!”
RIIIIPPPP!
You, Mammon and Asmo fell back and the now ruined journal had papers flying through the air, scattering across the floors while Mephistopheles held a good chunk of the now ruined journal in his hands. You fell onto the stone floors, scraping the heel-base of your hands in the process, students who’ve gathered began to whisper and murmur at the scene before them.
“M-my research…” you whisper out as you watched the papers fall to the ground, tears spilling from your eyes. All those weeks of research now completely destroyed.
“Oh my goodness!” Asmo flips, crawling to your side. “(Y/n), are you okay?!” Mammon noticed the tears coming from your eyes before turning to Mephistopheles, pure rage in his eyes.
“You’re gonna regret that!” Mammon growls, his horns beginning to protrude from his skull and getting up into a defensive position. While he may not be the best at curses and hexes like the rest of his family, he’s always willing to try his best to defend those he loved. The magenta haired demon just stared at the three of you with an unfazed look.
“Of course, it comes to no surprise that a bunch of fallen angels would defend a human.” He responds. “Rejects stick together I suppose, but I’m taking my evidence and delivering it to Lord Diavolo at once.”
“I sincerely doubt you will.” A deep voice cuts through. The crowd begins to make way as Lord Diavolo, Lucifer and Barbatos came through the crowd and spotted the scene before them, a sense of relief hit you for a second seeing the Fabulous Three arrive.
Lucifer scanned the ruckus before him before eyes widened at the sight of you on the ground with Asmo trying to comfort you, tears falling from your eyes, Mammon standing in front of you both trying to defend the two of you and the remnants of your research littering the stone floors of RAD. He could feel a tightness of anger in his chest at the sight of your tears, his brothers in this state and the research the two of you spent so much time working on being in tatters. Mephistopheles was going to regret his actions; he’ll make sure of it.
“What is the meaning of this?” Lord Diavolo asks, his face changing from its usual happy-go lucky self to a serious look and his arms crossed.
“L-Lord Diavolo!” Mephistopheles stutters. “I’m so glad you’re here! I caught this ruffian of a human with what could be evidence that she plans to bring down the Devildom! She refused to hand over the book and then her and these disgusting fallen angels attacked me!”
“That’s a lie!” Mammon hollers, his canines more prominent and his wings flapping about. “Ya assaulted (Y/n) an’ took her book when it wasn’t yours to take!”
“Yeah!” Asmo nods. “(Y/n) bumped into him on accident and then, he grabbed (Y/n)’s wrist when he saw her write in her journal and tried to accuse her of trying to cause harm to you and the Devildom! We tried to get the journal back from him, but it ripped!”
“I was only doing what was right by Lord Diavolo!” Huffs Mephistopheles. “She was obviously planning to take down the Devildom and I wanted to-“
“Enough.” Lucifer growls before making his way over to Mephistopheles and getting in front of the three of you in a protective manner. “That ‘evidence’ you assaulted (Y/n) for was actually research papers and notes on a theory she and I have been working on in our spare time about pacts between demons and humans.”
“It’s true.” Lord Diavolo nods. “I already signed off on this project between Lucifer and (Y/n) and was looking forward to the results. Mephisto, you just destroyed weeks worth of research!” Mephistopheles began to pale when he realized his mistake. Instead of helping Diavolo, he just made him angry.
“L-Lord Diavolo,” he tries to appease. “I was only trying to do what was best for you, more than what these fallen angels could ever do.”
“Okay can you cut the racism out?! It’s driving me up the wall!” You roll your eyes with a sniffle. You hate racism, you always did. It always drove you up the wall and annoyed you. You were grateful the brothers and Luke knocked it off with their prejudice remarks after the exchange program became a success and since then, have ceased entirely.
“You claim to be doing what was best for The Young Master,” Barbatos interjects angrily. “But you did the exact opposite by causing a scene,” he pointed out the crowd that had formed. “That’s everything The Young Master would not want.” Mephistopheles’s eyes widened in shock at the realization of this.
“Mephisto,” Diavolo said. “I want you in my office at once and give (Y/n) her research back. Now.” Realizing his mistake, Mephistopheles dropped your research journal’s remains on the ground and followed Barbatos to Diavolo’s office while Mammon flipped the now shameful demon off. Lucifer and Diavolo made their way over to you, kneeled down and Lucifer sternly put his hand on your shoulder, concern painted on his face.
“Are you alright (Y/n)?” He asks.
“Yeah.” You swallow a little hard, feeling tears coming out of the sides of your eyes.
“Hey what about me?!” Mammon asks. “I got hurt too!” He showed a small cut on his wrist to Lucifer.
“And me!” Asmo whines. “My skin has horrible damage from this, and the stress will make me break out!”
“I know you’re both fine.” Lucifer waves off. “(Y/n), let me see your hands.” You showed him the palms of your hands and he noticed immediately the scrapes on them, he could also smell the faint scent of human blood.
“Looks like they’re just scratches.” Diavolo comments. “Do they hurt?”
“They sting and my wrists are sore,” you admit, “but that’s not what’s bugging me right now. It’s more so-“
“That Mephistopheles destroyed your journal?” Lucifer asks. You nod, feeling sad that week's worth of work all came crashing down thanks to that asshole demon. When you figured out the Pact Forms, first thing you were going to do was give him The Lucifer Special (aka, string him from a chandelier and play piñata with him).
And Lucifer? He wanted to string Mephistopheles up just as much. But a part of him was now kicking himself because he should’ve spoken with you about taking the journal and keeping it locked in his office at The House of Lamentation for safekeeping.
None of this would’ve happened if I did that. He told himself. I need to rectify this.
Diavolo soon began to make his way around the scattered papers and began to collect them. Mammon and Asmo joined the future king in collecting the notes before having all of them and bringing it to you, Lucifer however took the papers, neatened them out and stood up. He then extended his hand to you which you graciously took and got up.
“Thank you guys.” You smile wearily. “I appreciate it.”
“It’s always our pleasure.” Lucifer smiles at you. “I will be taking your notes from here on out. Mammon, Asmo, you did good helping her, and I will reward you both. Can you take her to the nurse to have her hands looked at?” The brothers nodded at their eldest brother. “You have my thanks. Lord Diavolo and I will be handling Mephistopheles from here on out, we will make sure he receives the appropriate punishment.” The two demons left the scene and as the crowd died down, you, Mammon and Asmo began to make your way to the nurse’s office.
“That stupid Mephistopheles.” Mammon grumbles, his horns and wings disappearing. “I shoulda punched him first chance I had!”
“He just had to grab (Y/n)’s journal.” Asmo sighs angrily. “And now my hands are all cut after I just painted my nails this morning. He’s the absolute worst!”
“He tries to seek validation.” You explain. “His actions were inexcusable, but what he’s doing is trying to seek validation from someone like Diavolo when he should seek it in himself. Regardless, it doesn’t excuse his actions towards me, nor his blunt racism.” You still felt irked at his racist remarks towards your race and angels in general.
“The fact he thinks he could be Diavolo’s right hand man when our big’bro scored that spot,” Mammon smiles. “Hahaha! Makes me proud Lucifer’s our big brother!”
“For once I agree with you Mammon.” Asmo responds with a sigh before turning to you. “By the way (Y/n), what was in that journal? Lucifer said it was research that you and he were working on. What kind of research?” You stopped in your tracks before looking to the second born and fifth born.
“Well,” you sigh. “Lucifer and I were going to keep this a surprise; but Mep ruined it for everyone. So, I’ll tell you both, but I’ll call a meeting tonight so I can explain it further. I have a feeling Lucifer is going to be busy tonight with what happened and all…”
“Pact Forms?” Mammon responds with surprise.
“Yeah.” You nod. “I came up with the theory after introducing Levi to one of my favorite animes the other night and it got me wondering if I could do something like that. If it can be achieved, then I can take on a dress form that’s similar to that of your demon forms. I wouldn’t only look similar to your demon forms, but I would be granted abilities similar to you as well.”
“W-wait?!” Mammon speaks up. “Ya mean to tell us ya may have found a way to take on a form that not only lets ya dress like us, but makes ya have powers similar to us?!” The thought of you dressed like him suddenly hit his mind and caused his sienna skin to turn red.
“Oh my! ❤️” Asmo squeals. “(Y/n) you would look so cute in my Pact Form if you succeed with this! Not as cute as me of course…”
“Lucifer and I were going to keep it a surprise for you guys to see when it was done,” you explained. “But thanks to Mep and his idiocracy, the surprise is ruined...”
You sulked at remembering what Mephistopheles did to your book and how he treated you and your friends. Asmo and Mammon placed a comforting hand on your shoulders.
“Hey,” Mammon comforted. “Lucifer’ll handle it. He took the book didn’t he? He’ll probably come up with somethin’ to fix it!”
“Mammon’s right (Y/n),” Asmo adds in. “Lucifer will probably get something set up and he’ll handle Mephisto.”
You stayed silent for a moment before giving them a small smile, wiping away any remaining tears from your face. They were right, Lucifer always had a way around things and knew how to fix any situation at hand. This was a bump in the road, but it wasn’t going to make you give up on getting these forms to become reality.
“Come on,” Mammon waves, “let’s get ya hands checked out before we go to class.” You gave the Avatar of Greed a simple nod before the three of you made your way to the nurse’s office to fix your hands up.
The day eventually ended, and you returned back to The House of Lamentation with the rest of the brothers, minus Lucifer who stayed behind to handle some things back at RAD thanks to Mephistopheles’s actions today. Word got around RAD about what happened between the three of you and Mephistopheles, so naturally the remaining four were extremely concerned about your wellbeing by lunchtime (Lucifer and you canceled your lunch together), offering to carry your things or getting you a snack to help.
You texted Lucifer about letting Mammon and Asmo know about the Pact Forms and with his consent, you decided to tell the rest of the brothers about the project the two of you have been working on in secret. When you and six of the brothers returned to The House of Lamentation, you gathered them in the Common Room and told them about the project you and Lucifer had been working on as of late. Satan, Beel, Levi and Belphie were surprised to say the least, but extremely supportive of the theory itself. Especially Levi, who was freaking out and saying you’ll be exactly like Ruri Hana-Chan.
Dinner came and went thanks to Levi cooking a recipe from a food anime you introduced to him a while ago (everyone surprisingly enjoyed it), and now you were in your bedroom, lying on your bed as Belphie napped next to you and Beel was eating some Double Stuf Oreos you got him from your last visit to the human world with some void cow milk.
It was the twins’ turn to comfort you, since everyone discovered what transpired between you, Mammon, Asmo and Mephistopheles, the remaining four brothers had been popping in and out of your room. Satan came in to check your wounds, loan one of his books to you and ask you more about the Pact Forms. Levi came in wanting to play a round or two of a game you both had been working on, talk about the latest season of an anime you’re both watching.
Of course, Mammon and Asmo came in to check up on you since you got the brunt of the whole ordeal, but you were glad they were holding up okay after everything, you genuinely couldn’t thank them enough for standing by you with what happened. Beel and Belphie came by to hang out after you got out of the shower and were now in your nightgown. They wanted to watch a tv show and have some snacks, but it just ended up with Beel eating snacks, you barely paying attention to what’s on tv, and Belphie falling to his Sin once more.
“Hey (Y/n),” Belphie suddenly speaks up, snapping you out of your concentration. “What kind of powers do you think you’d get if this theory is proven right?” You looked to the youngest of seven for a moment before beginning to think the
“Hmm…” you think, “well, the theory so far is it could allow me to perform magical abilities attuned to the demon I’m packed with. For example, if I succeed with your Pact Form Belphie, I would possibly be able to do sleeping spells more fluently. Or Beel’s form, I could have demonic strength, and who knows, maybe I could control flies!” You giggle at the last part, knowing Beel’s symbol is the fly.
“That would be really cool if you could do that.” Beel swallows after eating five Oreos. “We could train or eat a lot of food together!”
“You do that with her anyway Beel.” Belphie snorts a laugh before falling asleep again.
“It’s going to be interesting how it will go when I achieve it.” You admit, “If proven successful, it’s going to turn pacts completely upside down, hopefully for the better.”
“I believe you’ll do it.” Beel speaks up. “If anyone can do it, it’s you. And I can’t wait to see how everyone’s Pact Forms will be!”
“Yeah,” Smiles Belphie, “you’re the most powerful Sorceress alive, once you’ve figured it out, it’ll be a walk in the park.” He let out a small yawn before closing his eyes. You smiled at the twins, feeling happiness bubble up in your chest at their words.
“Thanks boys,” you respond. “I really appreciate it.”
Knock knock knock.
The three of you heard a knock on your door.
“(Y/n),” you heard a deep voice call out, it was Lucifer. “May I come in?”
“Yeah!” You called out to him. The door opened to show Lucifer, still in his RAD uniform, carrying papers, a binder and beige folders with him. He must’ve just got back.
“How are you faring?” He asks you.
“Better.” You respond. “Thank you for asking. After what happened, everyone found out and everyone came to comfort me, Mammon and Asmo which I’m grateful for.”
“How are your hands?” he questions. You show the palms of your hands to him and the two large bandaids covering the scrapes.
“They don’t sting anymore.” You said, “Nor do my wrists hurt.” Lucifer nods and gives you a sincere smile.
“Beel,” he suddenly spoke up, “are you alright with me having a moment alone with (Y/n)? I wish to discuss the events that transpired today with her. Among a few other things.” Beel nodded before getting up from the bed and noticing his now slumbering twin and then hoisting him over his shoulder, exiting the room with his brother and snack in hand. Lucifer then strides over to your bed and sat down next to you, placing the documents and other things down onto the foot of the bed.
“I came to inform you that Mephistopheles is now on suspension.” Lucifer began. “It wasn’t an easy decision; but Diavolo, Barbatos and I had a long chat with him, and considering your torn journal served as evidence along with witness testimony, and your minor injuries, he is currently facing a several-day-long suspension from RAD. He was very unhappy with the results and tried to pin the blame on you for what happened, claiming you failed to abide by RAD rules. But that failed miserably.” He chuckles at the last part. “I assume we will be hearing from The House of Lords about this…”
“Not our fault one of their own is seeking constant validation.” You wave. “But I think some anti-racism incentive classes are needed for him, and some good therapy too, or The Lucifer Special!”
“The Lucifer Special?” He asks.
“Yeah, we string him up by his ankles on a chandelier and pretend he’s a piñata at a human kid’s birthday party!” Lucifer stared at you blankly before letting out a hearty laugh.
“I must admit, even I agree to that idea.” He chuckles. “But I can’t allow that.”
“You sure I can’t give him the Lucifer Special?” You ask innocently.
“Maybe when we get you in my Pact Form, but I don’t think it’s wise since it means dealing with the House of Lords.”
“Fair enough.” You both let out a small laugh at the idea of Mephistopheles strung up on a chandelier by his ankles and the two of you with baseball bats ready to play piñata with him. Maybe you and Lucifer were more a like then you thought when you get down to it…
“By the way,” Lucifer suddenly speaks. “I have something for you.” He reaches into his pile and pulls out a binder with the symbol of Pride on it. You took the binder and flipped through it, realizing it was all of your research notes, every single page from the journal you wrote in, and some were pages written in Lucifer’s handwriting. “The original book was unsalvageable even with magic in afraid, so I took everything that was salvageable and placed it in this binder, and the notes that were too badly damaged I replaced.” Your eyes widened and you felt happy tears spill from your eyes before you pulled the First Born into a large hug.
“Thank you…” you sniffle. “I’m so happy you did this… I really thought we lost everything we worked so hard on!” Lucifer sunk into the hug and gently patted your back in an attempt to comfort you. He wasn’t used to doing things like this, he felt there was no need for things like this. It wasn’t until you came along that he learned it’s okay to do things like this.
“I know how much this theory means to you.” Lucifer explains. “And I truthfully have come to want to see it come to fruition, I entirely believe in this theory and that you can do this.” He then picks up the binder and holds it close to himself. “I believe it’s best we keep the documents involving the theory in my office from here on out. It will be a lot safer there and we don’t have to worry about another mishap like today.”
You nodded in agreement to his idea.
“I also rewarded Mammon and Asmo for their efforts in protecting you and trying to protect the research.” Lucifer adds on, “You can say they’re quite happy with their rewards.”
“What did you get them if you don’t mind me asking?” You respond.
“Oh, I got Mammon that watch he had his eye on for a while, and Asmo some eye shadow palette that he heard good reviews about.” Lucifer waves. “You’ll hear about it soon I assume.”
“I bet.” You let out a small giggle at his words, knowing how Mammon and Asmo are going to show you what Lucifer purchased for them like children who did good in school.
“But I do want to remind you that you can rely on me if you’re ever in trouble.”
“I appreciate it Lucifer,” you smile. “Don’t worry, I know to summon you if need b-“ you stopped yourself for a moment before realization hit, like a lightbulb finally going off after so long of trying to turn on.
Lucifer stared at you with curiosity, wondering why you stopped yourself mid-sentence.
“Hmm?” He asks. “(Y/n), is something wrong?”
“That’s it.” You whisper.
“What is?”
“I think I figured out how to go about The Pact Forms!” You hopped out of your bed and began to pace around the room, Lucifer watching with curiosity.
“I make it like I’m summoning you or your brothers, but instead I’m summoning your power instead! Like how when I take some of your magic to perform spells!” Lucifer crossed his arms for a moment before looking to you, a stern look on his face, you learned overtime this was how he looked when thinking.
“It could possibly work,” Lucifer admitted, “you could make it you were summoning me or one of my brothers; but direct the magic to your external appearance. We’ll have to look deeper into that and see if it’s plausible.” He smiles and gives you a satisfied nod. “But that can wait till tomorrow, it’s late and curfew is in ten minutes, you should be getting to bed. You have classes in the morning.”
Your eyes widened before you looked at the nearby clock and realized the time: 9:50pm. Curfew in House of Lamentation was 10pm, and Lucifer expected everyone to be in bed by then. Well, except Levi who had a habit of late-night gaming; he was a different story.
“We can discuss further details of this plausibility during our makeup lunch tomorrow.” He smiles before getting up and making his way over to you.
“I’m looking forward to it.” You smile to the Avatar of Pride, before hugging him and surprisingly felt him kiss your temple.
“Have a pleasant night.” He softly speaks. “And no wandering the gardens late at night.” You snorted at his words, remembering how this whole thing started.
“And no late-night paperwork.” You laugh back which earns a chuckle. The two of you parted ways, but you suddenly looked to him, realizing you forgot to say something.
“Wait-“ you called out. He stopped in his tracks to look at you. “Did-did you eat dinner?” You were on the verge of walking out to make him something to eat if he said no at this point.
“Diavolo invited me out to Ristorante Six before I came home.” Lucifer confirms. “So, I did indeed have dinner, thank you for asking me.”
“Okay, good.” You mentally sighed in relief, knowing Lucifer had a habit of skipping meals sometimes to work.
“Goodnight (Y/n).”
“Goodnight Lucifer.”
He closed your bedroom door and the sound of his footsteps walking away could be heard through the wooden slab that blocked you off from the rest of the House of Lamentation. You let out a sigh of relief you didn’t know you were holding; the stresses of the day were finally coming undone. Yes, today was a major setback in your research with Lucifer, but in the end, something good came out of it.
You just hope it stays good.
Notes:
Yeah I think I made it clear who’s my least favorite of the Obey Me! Characters. 😂 sorry Mephisto fans!
But little fun fact: if anyone noticed, in a lot of my works, the demons would knock at least three times before going into a room? I’m a bit of a paranormal enthusiast and one thing I learned is with a demonic haunting, sometimes demons will knock at least three times.
The three knocks are supposed to be a mockery of the Holy Trinity (The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit). I added that in for all the demons in the fanfics I write because I have the idea that it’s in their nature to do that.
Chapter 4: Pact Form: Avatar of Greed, Mammon
Summary:
After that minor breakthrough, Lucifer gets to work on your idea and soon creates an incantation to let you transform into a Pact Form!
And after giving it a sound it leads to something you didn’t expect.
Notes:
Finally updating again!!
I’ve been meaning to update for months but things got out of hand in my personal life. Sadly my dad passed and after that it just has been cleaning up the aftermath of his passing. Obey Me! Has been a massive comfort game to me in this time of my life and brought me a lot of joy in this time of need in my life.
I’ll be getting Of 3D-printing and Demons’ new chapter up hopefully by this weekend and the next chapters of both series more out in the future!
Ps this chapter has some spoilers for the video game Subnautica!
Chapter Text
“Alright, so you need to keep going before finding the Deep Grand Reef.” You point out to Levi as he steered his Ruri-Chan color-themed Cyclops named “The Henry” to the directions you gave him with his controller. “We’ll start to see The Lost River the moment we see the green brine on the sea floor. But while we’re in the Deep Grand Reef, there’s one place we need to stop by for some very important things.”
“Got it! Green brine and something in the Deep Grand Reef!” Levi smiles as he navigates his way through the horrific alien planet.
You were both playing Subnautica in his room. You got the game for him as a surprise a few days ago when you and Lucifer ran a few errands in the Human World for RAD. It was hard to come by a physical copy of the game, and when you saw it as you passed by a game shop, you got it for him and when Levi loaded it up to his gaming console, he was instantly addicted. Especially since it involved water and the sea. It was hard for him in the beginning to get the hang of it, but considering you were a Subnautica veteran yourself, he was going to be okay.
It was a Saturday night, the two of you of course were in Levi’s room and playing the game. You were already in your pajamas: a worn-down t-shirt of your favorite band back in the human world, some constellation-themed pajama pants, and a pair of Ruri-Chan slippers Levi won for you at a raffle from a pop-up café last month.
“So what’s going to happen when we find The Lost River?” Levi asks, “Wait- don’t tell me! I don’t want spoilers! As an Otaku-shut-in, I can’t stand spoilers!” You giggled at his reaction; Levi always knew how to make you laugh.
“You’ll see when we get there.” You smile. “My best advice is to just be prepared for anything, this is one of the most important journeys in the game, and going here is going to be extremely fruitful.” You watched as Levi carefully guided his Cyclops to the Deep Grand Reef, doing his best to avoid the multitude of rocks, becoming slightly anxious at how close the rocks were to The Henry.
“Why couldn’t we take The Blood Kelp Zone again?” Levi asks.
“It’s too narrow.” You reveal. “Your Cyclops would not stand a chance. Plus, there are a lot of dangerous enemies there like here, so you’re better off taking this route.”
“Are the dangerous enemies over there why you had me collect blood oil, deep shrooms, and gel sacks to grow at my base when we were near a Blood Kelp Zone?”
“Precisely! Also, the trek is too far from the Safe Shallows, so you were better off at the end of the day.”
It grew silent between you and the Avatar of Envy as you watched him steer through the dark waters before reaching The Deep Grand Reef, careful to not make a sound to fall upon predators, but his eyes sparkling at the sight of the many large Anchor Pods, illuminating the space; he made it.
“H-hey…” he clears his throat suddenly. “A-are you okay since Mephistopheles destroyed your research?” You blink at his sudden question before smiling.
“I’m better than I’ve been, thank you Levs.” You confess. “Lucifer managed to salvage at least 90% of it. But had to re-write the missing 10%.”
“So you think you’ll be able to do those Pact Forms?” Leviathan asks.
“I hope so.” You respond uncertainly. “It’s just difficult to figure out how to make it happen.”
“W-what do you think my Pact Form would look like if you got it?” He suddenly asks while pausing the game. “W-wait! Nevermind! I doubt you would want to be dressed like some yucky otaku!” You place your hand gently on his shoulder to reassure him.
“Lev,” you smile. “I think your Pact Form would be badass! While I don’t know how it would look, I think it would be something water-related! Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to breathe underwater in that form! Or even summon Lotan myself!”
His eyes sparkled at the very ideas you suggested for his Pact Forms.
“You really think you can summon Lotan?!” Levi flips.
“I don’t know if I can, but it may be possible!” You respond.
Knock knock knock!
“Levi, it’s me.” A voice calls from the other side of the door, Lucifer. “May I come in?” You turned to Levi who nodded before calling out.
“Make it quick! We’re very busy right now!” The door opened and Lucifer walked in, still in his casual clothing, and glanced around the room, noticing you and Levi playing the game you bought for him a while ago.
“Ah, (Y/n).” He began his hand to his chest as usual. “Levi, I need (Y/n) to come with me, I need to speak about something important with her alone.”
“Woah! Nah-uh! Time out!” Levi refuses, pausing the game in record time. “I refuse to allow you more time with (Y/n) than you already have! We are in the middle of an extremely important mission that will tell us more about an alien sickness we’ve caught and decide our fate from here on out! I refuse to allow (Y/n) to leave until such a mission is accomplished!”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about Levi.” Sighs Lucifer, “But I need (Y/n) since I have made a breakthrough in the Pact Forms. Taking (Y/n)’s idea, I may have figured out the correct incantation needed to cast it.” Your’s and Levi’s eyes widened at Lucifer’s words.
“You figured it out?!” You respond.
“I have.” Lucifer nods. “But I will need you to come with me to look over everything.”
“Oh but-“
“(Y/n),” Levi suddenly speaks up. “You accepted the quest a while ago. And while it will need time to finish, it is a difficult SS Rank quest with major rewards! I am only a mere side quest you can come back to later! Go now, and continue your quest for Pact Forms! Our mission to save the planet and ourselves will come later!” You blink at Levi’s odd way of telling you he was okay with you going with Lucifer for the rest of the night, but you smile just the same knowing it was his way of telling you he was supporting the Pact Forms.
You gently hugged the Avatar of Envy in thanks, careful not to push his high boundaries before leaving with Lucifer for the rest of the night.
The fire roared and let out an occasional crackle thanks to the wood breaking from the heat. It was cold out tonight in the Devildom, a sign that the fall months were ending, and winter was creeping its way through the lands like a thief in the night. Lucifer had covered you in his signature long coat to help keep you warm since Devildom chills could be deadly to humans. Cups of hot tea were on the coffee table, steam still omitted from them, your binder of research on the table, opened and now being filled with new papers on your research thus far.
You and Lucifer were going over all the information on pacts you obtained while looking over how he worked out your idea from the other night. You both rented out every book you could imagine at RAD’s library and the Royal Library. Normally, the Royal Library had a limit on how many books one could rent, but thanks to Lucifer’s high status, you were able to rent more than the maximum amount. He even went into the restricted section to see if there was anything you both may have missed. Since that breakthrough the other night, Lucifer and you worked your tails off to see if it was plausible.
And all this research was finally paying off: from how confident Lucifer sounded, it sounded like he really thinks he may have gotten the incantation for Pact Forms down.
“So, if you were to change around these words in the summoning spell, it should work.” Lucifer nods as he writes down a few incantations.
“I see,” you nod. “I’ll be honest, I wasn’t certain if changing the incantation would’ve done anything. A part of me was fearful I would’ve been hurt or the least it would’ve been a dud.”
“Nonsense.” Lucifer waves, his pride showing a smidge. “As long as you're under my watch, I will not allow such a thing.” Your cheeks turned a noticeable red at that, which made the Avatar of Pride smirk.
He then took his hand and placed it on your cheek with unmatched gentleness and ran his thumb across your cheek, enjoying the feel of your soft skin against his glove and loving the affect he was having on you. You wanted to stay like this forever, wishing this stopped moment in time was forever.
His musk filled your olfactory senses: cinnamon, old parchment, smoke from the fire, the princess poison apple Demonus you made him for his birthday this year, this had a soothing affect to you- he had a soothing affect on you. Yes, this was the most feared demon in The Bible, but to you, he was a dear friend, teammate, family member and maybe one day, something more if it was in the cards.
“Would you say you’re ready to give it a test tomorrow?”
You snapped out of your thoughts for a moment before realizing what he said.
“Tomorrow?” You swallow a little nervously. “Do you think we’re ready for such a thing?” He gently caressed his gloved hand over your hand, rubbing his thumb over it smoothly once more, it honestly felt nice.
“I’m positive.” He responds. “I’m more than confident it will work, and that you’ll be able to do this. And if something were to go wrong, I will take full responsibility and make sure you’re alright.”
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and a part of you had to admit you felt like you were falling for him all over again just from that alone.
“Well, if you think I’m ready,” you speak up. “I’ll give it a try tomorrow!” He gave you a sincere smile and the carmine red in his eyes sparkled once more. One of the things you loved about him; how the reds in his charcoal/carmine red eyes would shine when happy.
“It’s getting quite late,” Lucifer suddenly points out. “I think now that we have an idea on what to do, we should retire early and be prepared for the first test tomorrow?” You suddenly glance at the clock and realize the time: 10pm.
“Yeah,” you nod. “I guess we should call it a night, I mean, this may take a lot of magic, so I’ll need plenty of rest!” You laugh a little awkwardly at that last part but Lucifer stares at you before giving a smile.
“Shall I walk you back to your room?” He asks.
“Uh-y-yeah!” You quip. “I don’t mind.” Lucifer got up from his chair and scooted it back in before making his way to your side, offering you his arm.
“Shall we?” You blush before hooking your arm with his and made your way to your room.
The house was silent as the two of you walked through the halls and the only audible noises were the echoes of your slippers or Lucifer’s expensive shoes made by some famous company in the Devildom you forgot the name of. It was surprising how quiet The House of Lamentation could truly be sometimes, no Mammon running the halls away from his brothers after stealing from them, no Levi screaming at the top of his lungs, no Beel raiding the fridge for his snacks, it was surprising to say the least.
The two of you eventually made it to your bedroom, stopping at the door like a couple on a date ready to part ways for the night.
“Thank you again for helping me with all this.” You speak up to Lucifer. “I wouldn’t have gotten this far if you didn’t step in.”
“It’s no trouble at all.” Lucifer responds. “In fact, I’ve been enjoying my time with you, especially if it means being away from my irksome brothers.”
“They’re not that bad.” You try to wave before he stared at you.
“You wouldn’t be saying that if you lived with them for thousands of years.” He sighs.
“But they’re still your brothers and you love them.” Lucifer looked away from you, a small blush forming on his face. You knew as much as he hid it and complained, he genuinely loved his brothers.
“Um hey,” you suddenly speak up. “There’s a new café that opened up last weekend near RAD. I heard a ton of good things about it, and I was wondering if you wanted to go grab a bite there sometime to celebrate the research being completed?” Lucifer cocked an eyebrow at your offer.
“Are you by any chance asking me on a date?” He smirks and places his right hand to his chest like he always did.
Your cheeks turned a bright shade of pink before you swallowed the lump forming in your throat, it was now or never.
“What if I am?” You boldly respond. The Eldest of Seven chuckled at your response.
“I have to admit,” he replied, “I did hear good things about this café as well, and getting more alone time with you sounds wonderful. All right, we shall go to the new café together, and how about afterwords, we could see a play? I heard the Devil’s Rose is a big hit these days.”
You beamed at his offer, making you happy that he wanted to take it further.
“I would love to go!”
Plop!
You suddenly felt a droplet of water on your cheek which startled you. The cold liquid ran down your face which Lucifer caught with a leather-clad finger, examining it closely.
“Sea water?” He suddenly whispers to himself.
Plop! Plop!
Another two droplets fell and this time landing on both your heads, one on his, one on yours.
“Did the plumbing spring a leak?” You ask.
“No, that shouldn’t be-“
“LUCIFERRRRRRR!!!” Mammon hollers as he ran down the hall and eventually found the two of you. “We gotta problem! A big one!!”
“What is it this time Mammon?” Lucifer huffs, his arms crossed. “I was in the middle of something.”
“Levi summoned Lotan!” Mammon puffs out. “Somethin’ in his game scared the crap outta him enough he decided to summon Lotan to fight back! The whole second floor is floodin’!”
Both your eyes widened in shock at Mammon’s sudden revelation.
“Oh no!” You freak. “He must’ve met a Ghost Leviathan or a Crab Squid!!”
“I have no idea what any of those are,” Lucifer sighs, “but I have a feeling I will be taking Levi’s gaming station from him.”
Somehow you managed to miraculously get Levi to calm down and send Lotan back home before any real damage could be done to the House of Lamentation. With some quick magic, any major damage or water damage was undone, and Levi got his console taken away for a week (which was generous considering Lucifer originally wanted to take it away for a month, but you got him to compromise).
The next morning was slightly rough at the breakfast table. Some talking about last nights events and others talking about any upcoming plans in the near future. It was Belphie’s turn to cook breakfast today: a simple variety of pancakes and waffles he made along with a few breakfast foods you could just shove in a microwave and eat. It never surprised you that Belphie normally made frozen-microwave breakfasts, he was not a morning demon and being the Avatar of Sloth tended to make him want to take the effortless way out.
You gathered your foods of choice before sitting between Asmo and Satan. As you ate, you quickly unlocked your D.D.D and placed a bid on an anime figure you had your eye on for some time, one that was hard to find in your world and was up for a cheap price in the Devildom. You and Levi liked the series, and you yourself wanted to collect a few pieces of merch from it.
You placed a quick bid and then locked your phone, wanting to finish your breakfast. The morning chatter began where each brother talked about their plans for the day. You suddenly felt a pair of slim arms snake around your right arm and pull you a bit close to the owner: Asmo.
“Hey (Y/n,)” he smiles. “Do you want to go to Majolish with me today? There’s this really cute dress I saw yesterday that would look so good on you!!!”
“Oh, actually-“
“That’s going to have to wait Asmo.” Lucifer speaks up suddenly, eyes not off the paper. “(Y/n) and I are going to be testing the Pact Forms today.”
Silence filled the dining hall the moment Lucifer disclosed that detail, everyone glanced over to you and the elder who was still reading his paper, drinking his coffee every few minutes.
“What?!” Mammon freaks.
“You’re testing the Pact Form today?!” Belphie asks.
“Huh?!” Levi screeches.
“Yeah,” you speak a little uneasy. “Lucifer thinks the incantation that he wrote will work for this, so we were going to give it a test after breakfast.”
“And you were plannin’ on doin’ that the two of ya alone?!” Mammon asks, nonplussed.
“Well-”
“Well I ain’t missin’ this! I’m gonna be there to watch this happen!”
“Me too!” Asmo responded. “I want to see what you both worked so hard on!”
“*Beya!*” Beel smiles, face full of food. “*I bwant ta schee!*”
You looked over to Lucifer who looked up from his paper to see his now eager brothers before sighing.
“Fine.” He spoke up. “But don’t get in the way, this is something we’ve worked on for weeks so therefore leave this to us.”
“We won’t get in the way.” Satan confirms.
“Yeah, we just can’t wait to see what you both have worked so hard on!” Smiles Asmo.
Breakfast ended and the eight of you made your ways to the gardens behind The House of Lamentation. Your heart was thrumming in your chest, a small cold sweat went down your neck as you walked along side the brothers. Your breathing was a little uneven, you were nervous to say the least.
A part of you was scared that you would never be able to do this, or even leave the Form if you do succeed. The what-ifs swam in your mind, making you a bit more nervous at each passing second before you felt a gloved hand enclose in yours. You snapped out of your thoughts for a moment and realized Lucifer was holding your hand.
He sent you a glance as if to assure you that everything will be okay, which made all the anxiety pent up calm down, and your heart race now that your crush was holding your hand.
It’s going to be okay. You tell yourself. If Lucifer is confident in it, then so should you.
“Here seems like a good spot.” Lucifer says before stopping in his tracks and letting go of your hand, leaving the feeling of his behind behind in yours.
“Okay,” you breathe out, clapping and rubbing your hands together. “It’s now or never, now who’s Pact Form should I take first?” The brother’s eyes widened in realization at your question; that’s right, you could take anyone’s Pact Form right now. But the question was, who’s Pact Form would you take first?
“Mine!” All the brothers say in unison. They all exchanged glances before glaring at each other with realization and then jealousy.
Oh no, this is the Wedding Magazine fiasco all over again… you thought to yourself.
“(Y/n)’s gonna take my Pact Form first!” Mammon hollers boisterously.
“No!” Asmo pouts. “She’ll take mine! It’s only right she is adorned in nothing but my natural beauty!”
“I want her to take my Form so we can eat a lot of food together.” Beel speaks up.
“No!” Belphie speak out angrily. “She’ll take my Pact Form first! It’s only right since she and I are close!”
“I-I think (Y/n) should take my Pact Form first!” Leviathan spits out. “Even if I’m a yucky otaku who has no redeeming qualities! You know what? Don’t take my Form first! You’ll be ashamed!”
“She’ll take my Form first.” Satan nods sternly. “It’s only right so that way I can just one up Lucifer.”
“Enough, all of you.” Speaks up Lucifer in an authoritative tone. “You’re all acting foolish. If she’s to take anyone’s Pact Form first, it’s going to be mine.” He smirks with pride and a devious glint in his eyes.
“W-wha?!” Quips Mammon. “She ain’t takin’ your Form! I’m her first, so I have dibs!”
“Mammon, we’ve been over this.” Sighs Lucifer. “You need to say you’re her first pact, if you keep saying that people will think something else.”
“Okay!” You speak up, breaking the situation up. “I have a better idea! Give me a few minutes, I’ll be right back!”
You rushed back into the House of Lamentation and soon returned with your hands filled with seven popsicle sticks, a cup, and seven different colored markers.
“Okay,” you begin. “I’m going to write everyone’s names in different colored markers on each of these popsicle sticks. After everyone’s name is written on it, I’ll place them in this cup, shake the cup up, and then I pick one popsicle stick from the cup. Whoever I pick, will be the one who’s Pact Form I take first!”
The brothers all blink at your idea before exchanging glances.
“It’s a good idea.” Speaks up Satan. “It allows everything to be fair game, and no one’s feelings get hurt.”
“We just leave it to chance.” Belphie realizes. They intently watched you as you wrote everyone’s names in different colored markers on the popsicle sticks: Lucifer-blue, Mammon-yellow, Levi-orange, Satan-green, Asmo-pink, Beel-red, Belphie-purple.
Once the sticks were written on, you placed them in the cup and began to shake the cup up. The boys all sat and watched intently as you vigorously shook the cup before stopping, looking away, and pulling a random stick out. The boys all gathered with anticipation as you carefully looked at the stick and read it out loud:
“Mammon.” You speak out.
“Alright!!” The Second Born hollers aloud like he won the Devildom Lottery. “She’s takin’ my form first! That’s my human!!” Everyone groaned when hearing he got picked first. He was definitely going to rub it in everyone’s faces for the next month.
“Okay,” you speak up. “Mammon it is. Now, this is my first time performing this, so could everyone please stand back a little?” They did what you asked, but Lucifer only backed away a smidge and crossed his arms, watching carefully to make sure he would not have to interfere.
“Okay here it goes…” you breathe out, your nerves wracking your body like crazy, you began to allow your memory to recall the incantation Lucifer wrote out. “Denizens of darkness, hear my call and answer! I am the one called the Sorceress (y/n)! Loan me the power of one of your numbers to use!” Flashes of light appeared as you said the incantation, surprising the brothers while Lucifer stood by, watching closely. “Pact Form: Avatar of Greed, Mammon!”
After you said the incantation, the cawing of crows filled the silent Devildom air and a large murder began to fill the gardens before making their way over to you to circle you like prey before a flurry of feathers filled the air and the crows flew faster, creating a tornado around you. The brothers all watched in shock, concerned whether they should step in or not, but Lucifer threw them a quick glance to signal they didn’t have to worry. Soon enough, a bright yellow light started to surround you and changed right before everyone’s eyes.
Mammon’s Pact Form had the demon howling with pride at the sight of you while everyone looked on in surprise (all except Lucifer who was giving a smirk of satisfaction). Your clothes changed into something like his demon form, however instead of being topless and a pair of black leather pants, you wore a one piece that showed a great amount of your rear-end and a cropped motorcycle jacket similar to Mammon’s with studs decorating throughout your clothes. Your nails became painted white and longer than you usually keep them and a pair of boots like Mammon’s appeared on your feet but unlike his, they were heeled and went up to your thighs.
A set of bat-like wings appeared on your back and horns like his formed on your head, but your hair turned pure white and grew in length a few inches, becoming unruly like his. Your pact mark with him began to glow yellow on the back of your hand, making it more prominent.
“I can’t believe it…” Satan speaks with surprise. “It’s actually possible… I didn’t doubt it, but the fact she did it…” you looked at your hands with pure surprise before looking into a nearby window to see your reflection, you couldn’t believe this was you.
“I-I did it!” You yelp. “I changed into a Pact Form!”
“And my human looks amazin’!!” Mammon screams happily. “ ‘Course she’d look amazin’ dressed like The Great Mammon! I’m her first after all!” The rest of the brothers began to let out sighs of annoyance, regardless, they were proud of you for achieving his Pact Form.
Mammon then transformed into his demon form and made his way over to you, a large grin on his face.
“C’mon!” He said while grabbing your hand. “Let’s get those wings some exercisin’!” He began to flap his wings which took him off the ground and into the air. Watching closely, you carefully began to try and flap your newfound wings in the same style he did. It took you a few minutes before you found yourself off the ground and flying next to Mammon.
Your eyes widened and began to sparkle as you slowly made your way off the ground but did your best not to try and get too far from the earth below since you didn’t want to possibly change out of this form and fall from a large height. Mammon sensed your hesitancy and grabbed your hand as if to reassure you that it was okay to go higher. With a quick nod, you flapped your newfound wings and made it further off the ground, a small laugh of joy coming past your lips as you did so.
Mammon’s heart skipped a beat as the two of you soared through the air and into the pale morning moonlight. To be flying in the air with you like this felt like a dream he didn’t know he had come true. He genuinely was grateful that Pact Forms were plausible.
“No fair!” You could hear Asmo pout from below. “I want to help her too!” And then, you looked down to see him change to his demon form and make his way up to you and Mammon.
“O-oi!” Mammon hollers, tugging you closer to him. “What’re ya think ya doin’?!”
“Joining you of course, so I can help (y/n) try her new wings ❤️.” Asmo threw you a wink at that.
“Hey! She’s takin’ my Pact Form so if anyone’s gonna teach her to fly, it’s me!”
“Oh greedy as always Mammon!” Asmo scoffs. “(Y/n) is only taking your Form because you won the stick pull; regardless, she still needs to learn how to use her newly acquired wings. It will help when she learns to use my form! It’s only a matter of time before she’s adorned in my beauty!”
“I want to help her too.” The three of you look to suddenly find Beel, now in his demon form, flying in the air, his wings buzzing like how a bug’s would when they would get close to your ear.
“O-Oi Oi Oi!!” Mammon starts pulling you closer to him to the point your cheek was squishing against his chiseled chest. “Ya ain’t teachin’ her how to fly! She’s in my Pact Form right now! I calm dibs because of that!!”
“Enough.” A voice broke out. Everyone turns to find Lucifer, in his demon form and now in the air and right behind you, suddenly pulling you close to him, which activated a blush on your cheeks.
“Oi!” Mammon growls. “Whaddya think ya doin’?!”
“Mammon you’re being too loud.” Lucifer responds with his eyes squinting in distaste. “You don’t have any proper teaching etiquette; either of you. So I shall teach her how to fly.”
“W-what?!” Mammon flips. “You hang with her enough!”
“Yeah!” Asmo pouts. “We hardly have time with her these days!”
“Okay boys…” you try to ease. “Take it easy, all of you could teach me to fly…”
“Nonsense,” Lucifer retorts. “I have the best qualifications to teach her, so therefore, I’ll be the one to teach (Y/n) how to fly, so she will be ready when she takes on other winged forms. Especially that of my own.”
As the four above argued who would teach you how to fly, Satan, Levi and Belphie watched below as the argument ensured.
“What’re they arguing about?” Belphie asks Satan.
“I’m not sure,” Satan responds, “but I have a feeling it has something to do with who will be teaching (Y/n) how to fly.”
“Ugh those normies and their wings…” Levi grumbles. “If I only had wings myself, I’d be up there to teach her how to fly…”
“You and me both…” Belphie mumbles to himself, for once in thousands of years, missing his angel wings.
“Hey! Who gave you that right?!” Mammon growls in distaste.
“Guys-l-“ you try to cut.
“I should have the right to teach her! I’ve hardly seen her much these days!” Asmo pouts.
“Boys, I-“
“I fly pretty good, let me teach her.” Beel nods.
“Neither of you have the skill to be a teacher, so therefore it’s only right I teach he- “
“BOYS!” You holler at the top of your lungs, waving your hands to gain their attention only to suddenly realize that one of your hands was glowing the same yellow light from before, and Asmo was now covered in the light. The light then dissipated, leaving the Avatar of Lust confused.
“What just- “
SMACK!
A black and grey bird suddenly smacked right into Asmo’s face, shocking everyone.
“Ow!! My beautiful nose!” Asmo cries out, covering his nose with his hands.
“Oh my gosh,” you spoke concernedly, “Asmo, are you oka-“
SMACK! SMACK! BAM!
Several more birds began to face plant right into the Fifth-Born’s face, eventually more started appearing that he tried to shield his face.
“Eeek!” He screams. “Why are these birds hitting me?!”
“Asmo! Get to the ground!” Lucifer orders. Not needed to be told twice, Asmo at once flew to the ground as the swarms of birds kept hitting him before he finally made it it the ground and changed into his casual clothes, grabbing his compact mirror to look at the damage to his face.
“A-Asmo! We saw everything up there!” Levi frantically calls out, racing over to his little brother. “Are you alright?”
“Am I okay? Am I okay?!” He pouts, tears pooling in his eyes, “I’m not okay! Look at my beautiful face! Those horrible birds just kept coming and hitting my square in the fa-“
Plop!
He was suddenly cut off when one of the birds left a “present” on his shoulder. A look of horror appeared on the Fifth-born’s face as tears threatened to pour from his eyes.
“Asmo!” Lucifer calls out. The four of you landed back to the ground and rushed over to him, your heels clacking against the pavement before reaching him and looking him over.
“What happened up there?” Satan asks.
“I don’t know!” Asmo sniffles. “We were arguing over who will teach (Y/n) how to fly when (Y/n)’s hand started to glow and then I started to glow! Next thing I knew those nightshade birds were hitting me in my beautiful face!”
“Nightshade birds? At this time of year?” Satan asks.
“What do you mean?” You ask while checking Asmo’s face.
“Normally those birds have already migrated down south,” Satan explains. “There shouldn’t be a single nightshade bird in the Devildom right now.”
“How is that possible?” Belphie asks.
“Maybe they migrated late this year?” Beel asks.
“I don’t know,” Asmo sighs. “But right when I was having a good morning, this happens! What a horrid stroke of bad luck!”
As you continued to look over Asmo’s injuries, your D.D.D. Buzzed which you quickly glanced at. Your eyes sparkled when you saw the notification.
“Holy crap,” you breathe, “that figure I bidded on earlier this morning ended and I won the bid!”
“What?!” Levi freaks. “Is it that figure from: I’m a Loser Who Got Nowhere in Life and Discovered my Ex-Girlfriend was Killed by a Brutal Gang that Killed many Innocent Lives, but I Discover I Can Travel Back in Time to When That Gang was a Teen Biker Gang and Now use my Powers to Save My Ex-Girlfriend and Prevent That Gang from Becoming The Brutal Monsters They Are Today?!”
“That’s the one!” You smile.
“AWWWWWW MAN!” Levi flips. “You’re so lucky!!!”
“Um….hello….” Asmo suddenly speaks up. “My beautiful face has been horribly injured over here!!”
“Wait,” Satan realizes. “Luck… Asmo, I don’t think you had a stroke of bad luck; I think your luck was stolen.” Everyone glances over to Satan before he looks to you.
“S-stolen?!” Asmo flips. “How did it get stolen?!”
“That glow around (Y/n)’s hand and you when you were up there, it stole your luck, hence why he was attacked by those birds so suddenly and why (Y/n) won the bid for that figurine.”
You blinked at Satan’s words before you stared at the palms of your hands, did you really steal Asmo’s luck from him?
“That must be (Y/n)’s ability in Mammon’s Form.” Lucifer realizes. “Since Mammon has the ability to grant good luck to those he’s pact with, and he’s a good for nothing thief; since (Y/n)’s taking his Pact Form, she’s able to steal someone’s luck from them.”
You honestly didn’t know what to say, it was weird that you could be able to do something as simple as taking away someone’s luck. You felt a pang of guilt in your chest knowing you caused Asmo pain back there.
“Oh gosh Asmo, I’m so sorry.” You frown. “I really didn’t mean to do any of that to you!”
“I know you didn’t hon,” he sniffles, “but you can make it up to me by being my nurse for the next few days, okay? ❤️.” He winked at you showing he wasn’t holding what happened against you.
“Well now that I’m aware of what this power can do,” you speak up, “I think it’s best I be careful with it in the future. I could see it being handy at some point…”
“It could come in handy at a casino!” Mammon smirks, Grimm signs in his eyes. “C’mon! We’re goin’ straight to the casino!!” He grabbed you and tossed you over his shoulder with the intent to fly straight to a casino, only to be stopped by Lucifer.
“Mammon,” Lucifer warns. “She still doesn’t have complete control over her new abilities; something like that would be unwise.”
“Well what better way to test new ability than to go test it out publicly!”
“Mammon, no.” Satan warns.
“They have a point Mammon,” You speak up, “this wouldn’t be a good idea. And can you please put me down? Your shoulder is digging into my stomach.”
“Whoop! Sorry (Y/n).” He apologized before putting you down. You then changed out of Mammon’s Pact Form back to your regular clothing.
“You know, with real cool powers, it’s gonna need a name.” Levi suddenly speaks up.
“Must we name her spells?” Lucifer sighs.
“It’s essential to every cool magical girl to name her attack spells! So that way her enemies have something to fear!”
“I don’t mind it.” You shrug.
“Must you encourage my brothers?” Lucifer mumbles to himself.
“I’m all for it!” Mammon laughs too loudly. “Let’s call it The Great Mammon’s Luck Stealing Ray!”
“That’s a horrible name.” Belphie retorts tiredly, all the brothers agreed to that.
“How about Mammon’s scummy influence?” Satan smiles a tad evilly.
“Wha-hey!” Mammon flips.
“I vote Mammon’s scummy hand.” Levi laughs.
“Hey!” Mammon yells.
“Boys that’s enough!” You call out, “I think I may have an idea.” they all stare at you before you clear your throat to tell them your idea.
“Why not Greed’s Hand?” You smile.
“Greed’s Hand?” Satan repeats.
“That does sound pretty cool…” Levi admits.
“And it relates to Mammon’s sin.” Asmo adds.
“So then Greed’s Hand it is.” Lucifer nods.
“Well,” Asmo speaks up. “I don’t know about you, but my beautiful face received unnecessary damage to it, and now I need to have my wounds tended to, along with a self-care day to forget such a traumatic event.” He then grabbed your wrist gently and began to pull you away from the crowd. “(Y/n), you’re coming with me, you’re my nurse until I’m alllll better~❤️”
He then pulled you away from the rest of the brothers into The House of Lamentation to start his “needed care”. You glanced over to Lucifer’s direction, noticing him looking on with a blank poker face.
Asmo kept you at his side the entire day until curfew when he went to bed. You were exhausted to say the least, besides patching his wounds up from that Greed’s Hand induced bird attack; it led to facials, deep tissue massages, mani/pedis, and other spa treatments that you could not even name for the life of you. You only managed to get away because tomorrow was a RAD day, and Lucifer was always strict about curfew.
You gently closed the door to his bedroom before leaning against it and sighing in relief. You were tired, smelled like roses thanks to Asmo having you bathe in that bath fizz he loves so much, you just wanted to go back to your room, get in your pajamas and crawl into bed. You stared down at the palm of your hand, remembering the events that took place this morning that led to all of this.
I really didn’t mean for Asmo to get hit like that. You thought to yourself. It looks like I’m going to really have some training with these Pact Forms once I begin to learn more about them and succeed in transforming into them.
“Asmo finally let you go?” You were startled by a voice coming from nowhere and looked up to find Beel staring down at you.
“Oh Beel!” You blinked, “You startled me for a moment! What brings you here?”
“Lucifer asked me to walk you back to your room.” Beel explained. “He said he’s got some paperwork to do, so he asked if I could retrieve you from Asmo’s room.”
“I see,” you smile. “Thanks.” You made it to his side and soon began to make your way to the staircase.
“You smell like the roses from that bath fizz Asmo likes.” Beel notes.
“Yeah,” you sigh. “Asmo really went to town on the spa day. Can’t blame him, it was my fault he got like that.”
“You didn’t mean any harm; he knows it was an accident. But I thought it was really cool how you took Mammon’s Pact Form.”
“Really?” You blink.
“Though I don’t like the fact it was Mammon of all demons, he wouldn’t stop talking about it at dinner.” Beel admits, “But it was still really cool to see all the hard work you and Lucifer did come to life. I can’t wait to see you in my Pact Form when you transform into it!”
“And I can’t wait to try it out!” You smile. He gave you a large smile at that, a smile he normally reserved for when he ate some food that he really enjoyed like his favorite pudding brand, or your cooking.
As the two of you walked, eventually you made it to your room.
“Thanks for walking me back Beel.” You smile to the tall sixth born.
“It’s no problem.” He smiles down, “I’m happy to do it. Oh, before I forget, Lucifer wants to ask you to text him.”
“He wants me to text him?”
“Yeah, said it was important you do. Didn’t say why though.”
“I see,” you nod. “Probably something to do with the Pact Forms now that the theory was proven true.”
“I guess.” Beel admits while gripping his wrist. “Just let me know if you need anything. I’m heading to the kitchen for a snack, if you want me to grab something, I will.”
You smiled before hugging the sixth-born.
“I appreciate it.” You respond, “I’ll see you at breakfast tomorrow?”
“Absolutely!” He grinned before the two of you separated and you wished him a good night. You closed the door let out a sigh of relief. You then pulled out your D.D.D and scrolled through your contacts before finding Lucifer’s name. Your cheeks turned pink and pulse quickened before beginning to text him.
_____Lucifer________
Beel told me you wanted me to text you, is everything okay?:You
Lucifer: Yes, everything is quite alright.
Lucifer: Though…
Lucifer: I wanted the chance to talk about further details for our date. Now that Pact Forms are proven successful, I suppose it’s time we speak about details.
Lucifer: *blowing kiss demoji*
Your face turned red and you slammed your D.D.D down on the plush of you bed for a second.
That damn demon…. You thought to yourself.
What do you have in mind?:You
Lucifer: I wanted to ask if you were free Saturday? Besides going to the new café and seeing the play, we could spend the day together as well.
Lucifer: Possibly get a little shopping done or even go for a walk.
I have nothing going on Saturday, we could spend the day together then! :You
Lucifer: What I very much like to hear.
Lucifer:*smiling demoji*
Lucifer: It’s quite late, and past curfew by five minutes. You should head to bed. We have RAD in the morning.
I could say the same for you, don’t stay up too late, okay? Don’t want you dragging yourself to RAD tomorrow. :You
Lucifer: You do realize you’re talking to a demon. Not a child correct?
Lucifer: Very well, I’ll retire early.
Lucifer: Diavolo has been giving me less work as of late, so I can retire for the night.
Lucifer: Good night, and sweet dreams.
Lucifer: *Blowing kiss Demoji*
____________end.___________
You place your D.D.D on the end of your bed and plugged it into your charger before changing into a set of pajamas with cats on them that Satan got you for the Holidays. You then crawled into bed and with a twirl of your finger, the lights turned off, and the fairy lights that were intertwined with the ivy on your walls lit up. Creating a dim light that was pleasant and gave you a sense of peace.
You stared up at the ceiling as you got comfortable in your bed, thinking about everything that occurred today, from transforming into your first Pact Form, to Asmo dragging you to his room to “play nurse” as he called it, and then your text conversation with Lucifer about your date Saturday. You really couldn’t believe it; Pact Forms were now a reality.
All the hard work finally paid off, and now really could help you out even more if the situation called for it. You were giddy to say the least. Now you and Lucifer had a date this Saturday.
You were happy to say the least. Of course, you always went on dates here and there with Lucifer, you’ve been on dates with a few of the brothers and Diavolo as well, that was entirely new to you since you never dated before coming to The Devildom. But this one was different from any other date, you both successfully made Pact Forms a reality, and now you both were going to celebrate it. So this was going to really be a special date!
As you felt the pull of sleep begin to take your conscious, a sudden thought ripped through your head that made you wide awake:
What were you going to wear for this date?
Pact Form Avatar of Greed’s abilities:
Increase in Agility and Speed: When in this form, your agility and speed greatly increase.
Flight: In this form, you’re capable of flying.
Greed’s Hand: In this form, you’re able to steal someone’s good luck and use it for yourself, giving your target a moment of bad luck.
New abilities are still being discovered in this form!
Chapter 5: Pact Form Avatar of Wrath: Satan
Summary:
Saturday finally arrived and you and Lucifer go out on your long awaited date. But trouble brews when demons try to cause trouble, making you enter Satan’s Pact Form.
Notes:
Guess who’s back at it!
It’s been a while, and I apologize for not posting in forever!! I’ve actually been quite busy in my personal life, and I haven’t had time to sit and write. Since my dad’s passing last year, it’s been one thing after another. You know the old saying: when it rains, it pours.
Since dad’s passing, either something is happening, breaking or medical occurs. Last month was the first quiet month I’ve had in an over a year, and it gave me time to actually catch up on a lot of things. But the only thing major these days going on is I’m currently trying to find a new job.
Unfortunately, my current employer has been paying my colleagues and I under the legal minimum wage as well as using some possibly illegal tactics to try and get us to work more. They also recently cut our base pay and tried to change their guidelines to where if we were late to fulfill a work request (by that I mean, not meet their ridiculous standard) then we get a cut in pay.
So suffice to say, I’ve been putting the feelers out for a new job.
I also have written up the next chapter of Of 3D Printers and Demons and should have it out by this weekend, so be on the lookout for that!!
Warning: minor violence
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Lucifer was sitting in his office at RAD, finishing up paperwork involving funding for future RAD events, club fundings and Mammon’s latest bill. He sighed out loud and rubbed his temples as he felt another migraine coming in. Brother or not, Mammon really knew how to pile on the headaches sometimes. He loved him yes, but he just wished Mammon would be more responsible with his finances. Then again, he wasn’t the Avatar of Greed for nothing you’d probably argue…
After signing and stamping the last piece of paper with his official seal, Lucifer got up from his chair, stretched some of his aching muscles and bones, neatly stacked the papers and made his way out of the room to file these in the correct places. He could slowly feel the stiffness melt away as he walked across the halls. Maybe you were right; he should try to spend less time sitting at his desk and walk around more.
He left the building and began to make his way across the courtyard. The mid-day night sky was clear, and the wind gave a cool breeze. Winter really was on the way, it’s been getting colder for a while and soon the students will switch to their winter uniforms. It also meant Human World holidays were coming soon. He wondered for a brief moment what he should get you for the Holidays this year before deciding to save that thought for later, the holidays were two months away. But still, nothing beats planning ahead, and with his connections, you could have the rarest items in all the Devildom. He’d make sure of it and if Mammon stole it, he’d hang him by the ankles for centuries to come.
He noticed in the corner of his eye a large crowd forming to stare at something, but right now he could truly care less about the crowd. No, he rather get this paperwork done now and continue about his business, maybe even plan more for your date this Saturday.
“Mammon, I don’t feel comfortable doing this….”
Lucifer stopped in his tracks and listened intently, he knew right away it was you who was speaking.
“Aww c’mon (Y/n)!” Another voice groaned: Mammon. “We got an entire crowd of demons wantin’ to see ya change into my Pact Form! And I’m chargin’ 500 Grimm a piece!”
Lucifer could feel his eye twitch at that. Since you tried out Mammon’s Pact Form, the Avatar of Greed had been boasting left and right about “being your first” once again. It was starting to get annoying truthfully. But you didn’t seem to mind. No, you waved it off as Mammon “needing a win for once.” Sometimes your heart was just too pure. And now he was charging demons to see you transform into the Pact Forms like some kind of street performer? He felt that was going too far.
Lucifer made his way over to the noises just in time to see a crowd forming around you and Mammon while the Second Born took as much Grimm as he could carry in his small burlap bag, growing more irked by the minute. You both worked yourselves hard to make these come to life and Mammon was making it as if this was for entertainment purposes!
“Ugh fine Mammon.” You groan, not thrilled about this. “But I can’t hold it for too long, I have lessons with Solomon later today!”
“Yeah yeah! Just show the thing!” He was now busy counting the Grimm he collected in his hand as more students came by to watch. This wasn’t the first time Mammon roped you into one of his schemes and it won’t be the last. Then again, this was a significant improvement from when you both first met. He used to just break into your room and try to steal some of your belongings. When you once caught him with your underwear in his hand, let’s just say he never did that again considering you chased him around the house, whacking him with a broom.
You just stood in the center of the courtyard, closed your eyes and took a deep breath before letting it out. If Mammon wanted them to have a show, you’ll give it.
“Pact Form Avatar of Greed: Mammon!” Just then, a glow of yellow surrounded your body and you soon appeared in your pact form for Mammon. The crowd gasped and erupted into cheers at the sight of you dressed in Mammon’s Pact Form.
Since the other day, it became much easier for you to invoke a Pact Form. When calling upon it the first time, you’d only have to say the long incantation then. But now that you’ve done it already? Just a simple incantation and you can perform it easily. Demons began to snap photos and take video of you in your newly acquired Pact Form while Mammon continued to collect Grimm from the growing crowd.
“Aww yeah! That’s my human!” Mammon cheers! “Show’em what you can do in it!” Lucifer just stared at the scene with a blank expression before you took a deep breath. Mammon really had a niche to test his patience, didn’t he?
“Alright,” you sigh. “this is a new one I’ve been working on the past few days.” You raised your palm in the air before a yellow glow filled the palm of your hand.
“Greed’s Illusion!”
The crowd watched as you rose your hand to the skies, a yellow aura surrounding your hand and then it began to rain Grimm. Lucifer stood and watched as demons gasped in surprise at your new spell, clapping in amazement and Mammon suddenly dropping the sack of Grimm he had and ran to start scooping up the illusionary Grimm that was falling.
“Holy shit (Y/n)!” He flips. “Why didn’tchya mention you could make it rain Grimm in this form?! I’m gonna be rich!!!” He continuously began to grab from the air, trying to get as many coins as he could.
Lucifer let out a long sigh, his brother never really learned, did he? You heard the long sigh and looked to find Lucifer standing in the crowd.
“Oh! Lucifer!” You blink before switching out of your Pact Form and into your RAD uniform. “Were we causing any problems?”
“No,” he sighs. “I was just getting this paperwork to have Diavolo signed when I came across this. I should’ve known Mammon was going to make this into some form of money-making scheme.”
“He’s not the Sin of Greed for nothing…” you wryly smile.
“Indeed… but he’s being an embarrassment to the Avatars of Sin and the RAD Student Council.”
“Let’s make this a little less embarrassing for him in the future…” you respond before clapping your hands and addressing the crowd. “Alright folks! Shows over! I can’t use the form for too long today, so I need to take a break! Besides, got class in a few!”
The crowd groaned and began to walk away, hoping they could get a glimpse of other Pact Forms you may have had in your arsenal. Mammon on the other hand was still scrounging around for the phantom golden coins.
“I’m going to break the illusion.” You told Lucifer, “I think Mammon’s suffered enough.” You snap your fingers and the illusion broke, causing all the coins to disappear on the spot.
Mammon blinked once he realized the gold colored coins he was pocketing were vanishing into thin air. He glanced around the courtyard to see if he could find the coins but only found you and Lucifer, standing together and looking at him.
“Eh? Where’re the coins?” He questions.
“Mammon there weren’t any, it was part of Greed’s Illusion.” You tell your best friend.
“And once again, you made a fool of yourself.” Sighs Lucifer. “You’re the Second-Born brother, do you have any decorum?”
“Go easy on him Lucifer, that spell was my fault. I should’ve warned him better, sorry Mammon…” you ease Lucifer with his expectations for Mammon, but also stood up for him.
You made your way over to Mammon and helped him up before cleaning up the Grimm he collected earlier. Just as you were handing the bag back to Mammon, Lucifer snatched it from the both of you.
“I’ll be taking that.” He speaks up. “This is to make sure that new bill you racked up is paid off Mammon. So you won’t be seeing a single Grimm from this.”
“W-wha?” Mammon gulped.
“Next time, make sure you don’t make the bill in my name.” Lucifer narrowed his eyes before straightening himself up and looking to you, his eyes becoming softer. “(Y/n), I will be seeing you later at lunch.”
“O-Oi! Why ya only bustin’ my chops Lucifer?!” Mammon freaks.
“Because you’re the one dumb enough to make (Y/n) use her new Pact Forms into a sideshow performance after we worked to make this more than parlor tricks.” He then turned on his heel and made his way to his destination, leaving Mammon disappointed in not having a single Grimm he collected (but you actually had a few in your wallet, so you gave him the coins).
“Man, why does Lucifer gotta be a jerk?” Mammon grumbles, dusting his pants off.
“Well Mammon, you did make the recent bill you racked up in his name, so maybe he’s just in a bad mood from that.” You try to reason while you dusted his jacket off with your hands and neatened him up. You then grabbed his book bag and gave it to him, making sure all his books and belongings were in there too.
“Still shouldn’t have taken my Grimm….” He grumbles before pocketing some of the coins he got from you. He then changed his expression to his usual goofy grin. “Well, enough of him! Wanna go to see that new Harrison Porter spin off on Saturday? I heard they’re sellin’ limited edition cups to celebrate!”
“Love to, but I need to rain check, made plans for Saturday.”
“W-wha?!” Mammon flips, shock evident in his eyes. “What’chya plannin’ that means ya can’t hang with The Great Mammon?!”
“Well-“
“C’mon (Y/n), I’m your first man! Your first pact! I’m sure ya can ditch your Saturday plans!”
“I really can’t Mam-“
Bong Bong Bong!
The bell in the distance rang which paused the conversation between you and Mammon momentarily; it was the warning bell that classes started in three minutes.
“Come on Mammon,” you sigh. “We got Curses and Hexes next. And we don’t want Lucifer on your rear again; do we?”
Mammon gulped at that before you both began to make your way to Curses and Hexes. You felt bad for Mammon, you did. But he did need to get to Curses and Hexes and try to improve his grade.
The rest of the week went by quickly and Saturday soon arrived. You and Lucifer agreed to leave for the café at one o’clock, and the show was premiering at three, giving you both some time to enjoy your meal and then make it to the show.
Asmo made breakfast this morning which was mostly oatmeal, pancakes, sausages, and waffles, all decorated to look “Devilgram worthy” as he would put it. You didn’t complain, it looked as if Ristorante Six suddenly added a breakfast menu. Though the taste was a tad sweet for your liking, it wasn’t bad.
Afterword you rushed out of the Dining Hall to make sure none of the other brothers would try to gain your attention for the day; no, today was your important date with Lucifer and you wanted to be ready. You made it back to your room and immediately started getting ready.
You chose a medium blue colored blouse with a light blue skirt and black leggings. Your shoes were a pair of black flats Asmo got you for your birthday last year that had blue flowers on it. You chose a gold chained necklace that Lucifer gifted you for the holidays, his Ring of Light and Lilith’s ring.
As for makeup you went the natural colors look, styled your hair and put on some perfume you bought in your last shopping trip with Asmo. You looked yourself over in the mirror and smiled, you think you look decent for certain. Now, all you had to do was head to the front and meet with Lucifer.
Your flats clicked against the wooden floors of your room, as you took your purse from the hook near your door and walked to the front door. As you made your way, you found Lucifer, standing by with a small bouquet of blue roses. Ones you knew he grew considering his horticulture hobby. He was in his usual long black sleeve button up, charcoal grey pants with black shoes, but his vest was an off black with silver buttons, a blue tie, and his signature black gloves.
You never understood why he wore gloves a lot of the time. It wasn’t like you never saw his hands without them, but you wondered why he wore the gloves. Maybe you’ll ask one day. And then you picked up the scent of cologne. It was an expensive brand of cologne you got him for his birthday last year and he was wearing a gold watch with his birthstone in the watch face on his wrist; it was the watch you got him last Christmas.
“Ah, there you are (Y/n).” Lucifer nods before handing you the bouquet which you graciously accepted. “You look stunning.” He took your hand and then kissed the top of it, activating a blush. Man, this demon was a charmer! But then again, he is the legendary demon priests, and the church would warn you about, of course he had charming someone in the bag!
“You look handsome yourself.” You smile back, he gives you his signature grin before offering you his arm.
“Shall we?” He offers you. “We should hurry if we want to catch the play on time, and not have to deal with my pesky brothers.”
“We should, and also considering we need to stop by that new café.” You agree, but trying not to insult his brothers. You then left the House of Lamentation, arm and arm with Lucifer and began to make your way to town with him.
While you walked to town, you were unaware of Lucifer’s brothers who witnessed the scene before them.
“Was that (Y/n) leaving arm in arm with Lucifer?!” Belphie questions, his tone getting a little bit angry at what he witnessed.
“Oi Oi! What’s my human doin’ with that bastard?!” Mammon hollers at the top of his lungs.
“Are they on a date?!” Asmo realizes as he watched you and Lucifer become ants in the distance.
“Oh no! No no no!” Levi speaks up, a random police whistle being heard in the background. “As the (Y/n) Police, we cannot allow Lucifer any more time that he’s already spent with (Y/n)!”
“We should follow them! I mean how could they leave without us?” Asmo suggests.
“Yeah, I mean they’re probably going to get some really great food together!” Beel points out as his stomach growls.
“Agreed. We should follow them,” Satan nods. “We will separate into teams. Asmo is with me, Levi and Mammon are together and Beel and Belphie are together.” The twins high fived to that.
“Keep in touch in a group chat that doesn’t have (Y/n) or Lucifer in it.” Satan orders. “And keep all tabs on the two during their date.”
“Got it!!” All the brothers said before leaving the House of Lamentation to tail you both on your date.
You and Lucifer arrive in town, arm in arm and make your way to the new café: The Ghostly Brew. You heard a lot of RAD’s student body talking about it one day and how amazing the coffees and pastries were. You heard their special: The Booberry Spooktacular was one of the best coffees the café offered. You both entered the little café and were immediately hit with the scent of coffee and black berries but also found it filled it with a small crowd, ordering or sitting at circular tables, eating or drinking their foods. The décor was purple and black and gave the theme of a haunted house. The workers were ghosts that looked like the cartoonish ones you would see in the Mario games.
The smell of freshly cooked pastries suddenly hit you both as you both made your way to the kiosk.
“This is really cute!” You breathe as you both looked around.
“Indeed, it has a charm to it.” Lucifer nods at your comment. “Order what you wish, I will be paying.” You looked up to your crush and blinked in surprise.
“Are you sure?” You ask. “I don’t mind splitting the bill!”
“Nonsense, this is my treat. We’re celebrating Pact Forms becoming a reality after all. And besides, is it not the man’s job to pay the bill in human dating customs?” He smirks at that.
“Well, some do.” You confirm, “but some also don’t mind splitting the check, it varies truthfully. Alright, tell you what, you can pay for this one and I’ll pay for our food next time, deal?”
“Very well then.” Lucifer nods and gives you a small smile in return. You both soon made it to the front of the line and began your orders. For Lucifer: a black coffin coffee with a crypt sandwich and you a Deadberry smoothie with protein powder and a grave digger soup with a small side salad.
You both received a number and found a nice little table next to the window and settled down. After five minutes, a ghost came by with your orders and gently levitated them onto the table. Lucifer suddenly took his cup of coffee and looked to you with a knowing smile.
“Here’s to Pact Forms becoming a reality.” Lucifer suddenly toasts, raising his coffee for a toast.
“Cheers!” You smile before you toasted your drinks and took a big sip. To you, your smoothie tasted of blackberries mixed with blue berries and a hint of mint.
“I think you made a good pick (Y/n).” Lucifer suddenly nods as he takes another sip of his coffee. “While this coffee can’t compare to yours, I would say this is pretty good.” Your cheeks turned pink a bit at his compliment before you took another sip of your smoothie. You then tried some of the food you ordered and nodded in delight.
“It’s good.” You nod. “I can see eating here from time to time.” You both sat in a comfortable silence as you ate your meals, silence you got used to. And one that made you feel how you came a long way from the awkward silences you used to share with Lucifer when you first arrived in the Devildom. And especially the awkward silence you had when you apparently were trapped in Levi’s game and it led to you both having to fall for each other to get everyone back.
That night itself was hectic.
“How are your studies going?” Lucifer suddenly speaks up, interrupting your train of thought. “Midterms are coming soon, have your lessons been easy to understand?” You blink for a moment before responding.
“They’re going well.” You confirm, “Some are a little tough; but nothing too dramatic.” Lucifer smiled at that revelation.
“I have been keeping an eye on your grades and all your teachers said you’re doing marvelous with your lessons.”
“How about you?” You ask. “I know besides your work as Diavolo’s right hand, you can be busy; but how are classes going for you?” Lucifer blinked for a moment, surprised you asked that.
“I would say they are going well.” Lucifer nods. “My classes are fairly easy and I even help with some of the class work.”
“Well I’m happy to hear your classes are going well.” You smile.
“Well as the Avatar of Pride and Diavolo’s Right Hand Man, it is my duty to maintain perfect grades and to maintain my position as the Eldest.” You playfully smiled at that. Lucifer always had to maintain a perfect image, but you knew he’s eased up on it in the recent years a smidge because you taught him that sometimes not perfect, can be perfect… as contradictory as that was.
“What about your record collection?” You ask him. “Did you collect anything new these days?”
“Actually yes.” Lucifer smiles. “I recently came into possession to a few new records for my collection.”
“What do they do?”
“Well, one has the ability to make you sprout flowers from your head. And another can cause auditory hallucinations.”
“Seriously?!” You were genuinely amazed at what some of these records could do and soon found yourself leaning in as Lucifer continued to talk about his record collection.
“*crunch crunch munch munch chew* Bese cookies wrock.”
“Beel, don’t talk with your mouth full, we need to watch their date.”
“But Belfwe, you gawt to try bheir food.” Beel and Belphie were several tables away, watching you and Lucifer on your date. They found out that you were headed for The Ghostly Brew and immediately Beel took the first watch with Belphie given he wanted to try the café’s food for the past week.
As Beel continued to eat the large stack of pastries, sandwiches, soups and smoothies he ordered, Belphie was trying his damndest to listen to your conversation with Lucifer. He watched as the two of you chatted and laughed at a few things, a small spark of jealousy filled Belphie as he watched you both chat away.
“What’re they talking about?” Beel whispers to Belphie.
“Seems like they’re talking about Lucifer’s record collection.” Belphie responded and felt an urge to try and do something to Lucifer’s record collection. Like maybe hide them or remove them from their protective covers and rearrange them in the wrong sleeves. Maybe he could get Satan on board with that later…
As the twins watched a ghost came by to clean Beel’s already clean plates and bring more food to the Avatar of Gluttony. Beel quietly thanked the ghost before digging into his parfait and noticed Belphie wasn’t eating his pastry.
“Belphie you haven’t touched your pastry.” He points out. The Avatar of Sloth noticed he didn’t take a bite of his Devil’s blackberry pastry and handed it over to Beel.
“You take it Beel, I’m not too hungry right now.” He gently pushes the wrapped pastry to his gluttonous twin before he took it and ate half. Making sure that Belphie got to at least try it later. A sudden burst of laughter came from you and Lucifer which caught Belphie’s attention; looks like one of you said something funny. He’ll have to let the others know what you both were doing.
As Belphie began to type away what he was witnessing, he suddenly began to feel his sin take hold of him, urging him to fall asleep. For once, Belphie tried to not fall asleep, fighting it and make sure that he could keep his eyes open and on Lucifer and you during your date. He needed to make sure Lucifer didn’t pull anything he shouldn’t. He needed to make sure that Lucifer didn’t win you over-
Bam!
At that moment, Belphie’s head fell onto the table, he was fast asleep. It looked like his personal Sin won another day. Some glanced around to see the Sin of Sloth fast asleep on the table while Beel continued to eat, knowing he was going to have to bring Belphie home. Beel quickly glanced to you and Lucifer who seemed undisturbed by the sudden bang. No, it was as if you both were in your own little world.
“Shall we finish and head to the theatre?” Lucifer asks you. “The play is in an hour and I don’t want to miss the first Act.” You gave him a smile and nodded.
“Yeah let’s go!” You said before Lucifer got up from his seat, and pulled the chair back for you to help you up and leave the café. What a gentleman!
Beel hid his face behind the mountain of food and lifted Belphie’s hood to prevent Lucifer or you from noticing. He shot the rest of the group a quick text to let them know he was taking Belphegor home and you were both heading to the theatre next. He was glad that neither of you noticed them, but he was unaware that his brother knew that he and Belphie were here.
You and Lucifer walked the streets of the Devildom, arm in arm as you made your way to the Theatre. Demons walking by and noticed the two of you together. Some whispering and realizing the man linked with you was no ordinary demon. To a lot of demons in the past, it was unusual to see Lucifer walking about without Diavolo or Barbatos beside him, or at least one of his brothers. Then you came along and how the seven turned to eight. Now they were used to seeing you, the human who turned the Devildom upside down walking with one of the Seven Brothers.
As you both made your way to the theatre, you noticed how some female demons would look and glare daggers at you, unhappy you managed to nab such a high ranking demon. But throughout the walk, you couldn’t help but feel someone was watching you.
“Hmm? Is there a problem (Y/n)?” Lucifer asks, snapping you out of your thoughts. He looked down to you with concern in his features, wondering if something was wrong.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” You try to ease a bit, “I thought someone was watching us for a moment is all….” Lucifer suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked behind himself to scan the area for someone watching you both. His black and red eyes narrowed to the point you could only see the reds.
His eyes ease up before he turns back to smile at you.
“I don’t see anyone nor do I sense anyone.” Lucifer tells you. “And if they were, it would be very idiotic of them. And they would be strung up by their ankles in the stairwell for a week.” Okay that should raise some form of an alarm bell in you. Were his brothers tailing you during your date?
“Come now, we’re going to be late.” Lucifer urges you before you both continued your walk into the theatre, unaware that Mammon and Levi were following close by.
The Royal Theatre. One of the Devildom’s most prestige places to visit. Next to the Demon King’s Castle or the Royal Library. The seating had a multitude of balconies and levels to where one could sit. And the stage was large enough for everyone to see. Lucifer being Lucifer, got you both the best seats in the house: front row.
You both walked into the theatre like a celebrity couple or the stars of the show itself. Lucifer gently guided you to your designated seat before taking the one next to you.
“I am genuinely looking forward to this.” Lucifer mutters to you. “I have heard so many good reviews about Devil’s Rose and the story itself is a beautiful and romantic tale.”
“It must be good if the theatre is almost full.” You mused. “I think we’re going to love it!” It was a long time since you’ve seen a good play. You confess you used to do plays as a child up into your late teens (the brothers even asked for a copy of some of your plays to watch). Even if you didn’t do the plays anymore, you still enjoyed a good show.
You looked over the playbill that was handed to you to see who the cast was for this show. Lucifer sat next to you, a large grin on his face and an aura surrounding him that told you he was excited.
“Ugh man why am I here? A crowded theatre isn’t a place for a yucky otaku like me.”
“Will ya be quiet? Hate bein’ here myself but I’m tryin’ to make sure Lucifer doesn’t do anything’ he shouldn’t to (Y/n)!”
Mammon and Levi were sitting at least three rows behind you and Lucifer, doing their best to keep an eye on you both during the date. With Belphie being out for the count and Beel having to take him home, it was now up to Mammon and Levi to make sure nothing “suspicious” happened on your date with Lucifer.
“Why go to a damn play anyway?” Mammon mutters to Levi. “This is borin’! He would’ve been better off takin’ (Y/n) to a casino or the horse races!”
“What? So you could gamble away all your money like you always do?” Snickered Levi.
“Wha-hey!”
“Besides, according to everyone online this play has been sold out for weeks. Getting tickets is actually as difficult to get back-stage passes to a Sucre Frenzy concert!”
“Then how the hell ya get tickets for us?!”
“Never underestimate the powers of an Otaku!” Levi laughs evilly. “And you owe me 300 Grimm.”
“Wha-hey!”
The house lights began to dim, flickering on and off to signify the first Act was about to start. The director for the play came out onto the stage to thank the audience for their support and how they look forward to showing Devil’s Rose to the audience. The lights dimmed to total darkness and soon the curtain opened to reveal the scenery which was a manor for a noble demon.
A female demon in noblewoman clothes was sitting on a foyer, reading a book before a male demon dressed in nobleman clothes walked in.
“Ugh man this is already borin’…I think I’m gonna fall asleep watchin’ this.”
“Shh!! Will you be quiet? I’m trying to keep an eye on them!”
“I mean c’mon man, even you can’t help but watch this while you’re keepin’ an eye on ‘em.”
You and Lucifer sat and watched intently as the play began. So far from what you could see, the two on the stage were noble demons that were siblings and the brother was set to begin looking for a wife soon since he was now of age to wed. You watched as the siblings talked about expectations from their father: The Duke of Dante.
As you watched the siblings discuss the young Earl’s upcoming 2,000th birthday, you suddenly felt an arm around your shoulder. You glance to see Lucifer nonchalantly placing his arm around you while you both watched the play. With a small smile, you snuggled in a little bit closer to the demon you’ve had a crush on for the longest time, taking in his musk and the scent of his cologne.
“What the hell does he think he’s doin?!” Mammon grits his teeth, his fangs beginning to become more prominent. “He shouldn’t be layin’ his grubby hands all over (Y/n)! And how cheesy can ya get with a move like that?!”
“Mammon be quiet, they’ll hear us.”
“How can I when Lucifer is literally takin’ his disgusting arm and putting it aro-“
ZIP!
“Mmph?!”
Mammon’s lips suddenly got sucked into his mouth like he just ate a whole shadow lemon. He started feeling for his mouth to try and fix it but to no avail. Levi looked at his older brother with wide-eyes before he looked to where you and Lucifer sat, and noticed Lucifer’s hand, hanging behind your chair but pointing his fingers at Mammon’s direction, minor traces of magic still lingering at his gloved fingertips. He then moved his hand back to its position before gently placing his hand on your other shoulder and you snuggled in closer to the Eldest.
Levi realized right then and there; Lucifer knew they were there.
Levi then furiously texted the rest of the brothers what just happened before slinking down into his seat. And also wrote on social media about what happened to Mammon, much to his embarrassment.
The curtain to Act III fell as the young Earl kissed the demon he wished to marry, a young girl from the country whom he fell in love with. You and Lucifer stood up and clapped, smiling at the beautiful performance by this theatre troop, grateful you got to experience such a wonderful show. The house lights soon turned back on and the cast and crew came out for their bows and thanks before the theatre let out.
“That was such a wonderful show!” You smile to your date as you both made your way out of the theatre.
“It was as the reviews said!” Lucifer smiles, giddy over the play. “The scene where they broke up due to the Duke of Dante not wanting his son’s wife to be a simple country girl.”
“Or how the Duchess finally spoke out and told her husband to let them be happy!”
“Enough is enough! Dear husband, can’t you see it? Our son is in love, the wedding to the Lady of Cambion is to be canceled at once, we cannot let him grow to be miserable as we have been our whole lives!”
“Or or or! My darling, I shan’t not care for what status you hold, or were you were born, or if your father is a cattle herdsmen, I love you. I have loved you since we’ve first met, and I will love you for centuries to come!”
You both exited the theatre and now we’re walking the streets of the Devildom, laughing and talking about the play, unaware Satan and Asmo were tailing behind, wearing hats, glasses and scarves. Doing their best not to be caught like how the rest of their brothers were.
“Where do you think they’re headed next?” Asmo asks.
“Possibly to grab dinner or head home.” Satan theorizes. “That play was four hours long according to Levi.” The two watched as Lucifer and you, walked the streets of the Devildom, arm in arm, laughing and talking more and more about the special effects and scenery for the play.
“Are you hungry (Y/n)?” Lucifer suddenly asks you. “We can see if we can grab some food before we return to The House of Lamentation.”
“I am feeling a little peckish.” You admitted to him. “There’s a food truck not far from here that Satan introduced to me during one of our book runs. The food is pretty good and the lines are always plentiful!”
“Well, I’ll take your’s and Satan’s word for it.” Lucifer smiles to you, that surprised Satan who was listening in. The two of you made your way to the food truck that had a small crowd forming around it as people got their evening meals to go. You and Lucifer waited in line before making an order: you a customizable wrap, and Lucifer a fried scorpion sandwich with Devil mayo, hell lettuce, void tomatoes and shadow hog bacon. You both got off the line and found a bench nearby a building to enjoy your meal when ready.
“I’ll head back on line to pick up our food.” Lucifer tells you. “And if they’re good, I’ll look to order from them so dinner is covered tonight. I’m certain Beel would love this food truck.
“I wouldn’t see him complaining about it.” You laughed a bit, knowing the ginger-haired foodie. Lucifer smiled before giving you a gentle kiss on your head.
“I’ll be back in five minutes. Wait here.”
With that said, Lucifer left to go wait for your meals, leaving you to sit at the bench and now check your D.D.D. Figuring the brothers were probably texting you like crazy right about now.
“Well, look what we have here.”
“A human? Here in the Devildom? And all alone too.” Two male demons suddenly appeared before you, one with curled horns and white hair and another with short horns that jutted upward on his forehead and had green hair. They made their way over to you, snake-like smiles on their faces.
“What’s a little human like you doing here?” The green haired one asks.
“I’m waiting for someone right now.” You told them firmly, “They’ll be back any minute.”
“Oh? Is that so?” The curled horned demon responds before trying to put his arm around you. “Why don’t you come with us for a bit? We know a really nice place that no human has probably seen before.”
“If you think I’m going to fall for that you’re obviously going to need to take extra classes over at RAD. Cause if you try anything, next thing you’ll be getting is my foot up your ass.” You flat out respond.
“Aww don’t be like that.” Coos the green haired demon. “Come with us, we can show you a better time than who you’re with!”
“What the fuck is this?!” Satan growls. “Those lower demons are all over her!”
“No way!” Asmo angrily pouts. “No lower demon scum should go near (Y/n)’s beauty!!!” Asmo and Satan we’re watching from nearby, they were keeping a close eye on you while Lucifer left to grab your dinners before witnessing these two lower leveled demons come up to you and try to start trouble.
Immediately the higher-class demons knew what these two lower demons wanted: they wanted your soul.
“I said no jackass!” You grit at the demons. “I’m with someone, so get the hell out of my sight!”
“Ooh! Feisty! I like my humans feisty!” Smiles the white-haired demon. “Come on now, come with us!” He then forcefully grabbed your hand and tried to pull you away from where Lucifer told you to wait.
You began to pull and fight back but the demons were physically stronger than you. You struggled and pulled, trying to get away but to no avail. You didn’t have a choice in this matter anymore: you quickly punched this demon below the belt line, causing the demon to let go of you and for you to back away, a look of determination in your eyes.
“Okay you went too far Missy!” Growls the white haired one, his fangs becoming more prominent as the seconds tick by. “You’re coming with us wether you like it or not!”
“Oh I’d like to see you try and get me.” You smirk confidently. As you stood your ground, Asmo was preparing to get involved, but was stopped by Satan.
“Satan, what are you doing?!” He hisses. “She needs our help and you’re going to just hold me back?! We can’t let those lower demons take her!”
“You’re right, we can’t.” Satan agrees, “But, I have a feeling (Y/n) has this one under control.” Asmo stared at his older brother with a questioning gaze, wondering what he could be thinking before hesitantly holding himself back. He hated fighting considering the wounds would hurt his beautiful skin; but if it meant protecting you, Asmo was always willing to go to the bat for you. But what Satan was thinking right now, he couldn’t even fathom.
“Denizens of darkness, hear my call and answer! I am the one called the Sorceress (Y/n)! Loan me the power of one of your numbers to use!” Flashes of light appeared as you said the incantation, causing an uneasiness to those around you. “Pact Form: Avatar of Wrath, Satan!”
The sound of meows suddenly filled the air as the two lower-class demons glanced to find every cat in a ten mile radius making their way over to you. The two demons watch in confusion as the felines in the area began to surround you and rub up against you before a bright green light surrounded your body. Your clothes changed into a pantsuit that looked similar to the clothing of Satan’s demon form. A feathered boa surrounded your shoulders, your hair was held back in a formal ponytail and you had fringes similar to him, horns similar to Satan’s appeared on your head along with a pair of glasses on your face and a set of ribbons that followed your ribcage. You were wearing a set of black heels that had a green hue and a long tail similar to Satan’s appeared behind you as well. Your pact mark was glowing a bright green.
Asmo looked on with pure surprise while Satan smirked in satisfaction, he knew you were going to do something like this, hence why he stopped Asmo. But to take his Pact Form to handle these scummy demons? Now he was really happy.
“W-what the?!” The first demon flips. “This human is taking a demon’s form?!”
“That’s not possible!!” The other one screams. “No human can do that!”
“Well this one can!” You smirk. You took a fighting stance against the two male demons, feeling your head suddenly become flooded with knowledge: Satan’s knowledge. All the years he had been alive and crammed his head with knowledge, were now being flooded into you. So, your IQ increases in this form? Interesting.
But another feeling came over you: anger. Righteous anger to be exact. These demons are trying to harm you, you have every single right to be angry and wish for their demise.
“Well, I’m not gonna let you get away with this because you know a few fancy tricks!” The white-haired demon overconfidently screams. He then tries to land a punch on you only for you to quickly grab his hand and then twist his arm, an audible CRACK! Could be heard.
The demon howled in pain before you took him and threw him into a nearby wall, creating a large dent in the brick foundation. His friend looked at you, fear in his eyes before he became consumed with inconsolable rage. He charged at you but you got out of his way and punched him in the back. Hard.
He stumbled before landing on all fours. You watched as he got back up and tried to charge at you again, only for you to create four green orbs of magic around you and direct them at the demon.
“Wrath’s Vex!” You holler before the four orbs exploded one by one, injuring the demon to where he could no longer stand. The first demon managed to get back on his feet and try to charge at you, this time using magic to give him extra strength.
“You little bitch!” He roars. “I’ll kill you!!” He charged with all his might, only for you to take your leg and hold it high in the air before hammering it down on him.
“Wrath’s fury!!” And just like that, the demon fell and probably was going to have some expensive medical bills.
“Still want to take my soul?” You smirk before transforming back into your regular clothes. “Let this be a lesson; don’t mess with humans.”
“That should be a good lesson for both of them.” A deep voice cuts through. You turn to find Lucifer behind you with your meals in hand and his neutral expression.
“Oh! Lucifer!” You blink, a tad embarrassed. “How long have you been there?”
“Since you successfully transformed into Satan’s Pact Form.” Lucifer reveals. “I was going to step in, but you handled yourself pretty well I would say so myself.”
“Well… I may have gotten carried away…” you blush a little bit.
“Hey…” the green-haired demon croaks out. “Isn’t that guy one of the Seven Rulers? The Avatar of Pride?”
“Oh shit!” The white-haired one wheezes out. “He’s the strongest of the Seven Rulers and one of the top three strongest demons here in the Devildom! And that human woman must be the human he made a pact with!”
“Fuck man, if I knew ahead of time it was her, I would’ve high tailed it out of your shitty idea…”
“You should’ve high tailed it from the start, given the laws now make it clear it’s illegal to cause harm to a human.” You and Lucifer look over to find Satan and Asmo, now making their presence known.
“Satan? Asmo? What are you both doing here?” Lucifer cross-examined.
“We…. We’re in the area.” Asmo explains vaguely with a smile.
“We were out to handle a few things and saw the commotion.” Satan adds before smiling to you. “You did amazing and really gave these lower demons what for.”
“I agree, she handled them exactly how you would.” Lucifer notes. “But why exactly did neither of you step in? You both are pact with (Y/n) as well.”
“We were going to; but we felt (Y/n) had it covered. ❤️” Asmo smiles sweetly as always. “She handled it like a true demon I would say! ❤️” you glanced over to Lucifer who was studying his younger brothers silently. You knew when he would do that, he was observing and deciding how to handle the situation before them. Before either of you could say something, you noticed the two lower-leveled demons trying to use this chat to escape, only for Satan to grab them by the scruffs of their necks.
“Asmo and I will handle it from here.” Satan smiles oh-too-sweetly. “You bring (Y/n) home Lucifer, we’ll be back later.” The two demons swallowed hard as they felt the Avatar of Wrath and Lust’s demonic auras seeping through their fake smiles, smiles that you knew meant they were dead set on letting their natures out.
“If you insist.” Lucifer nods, “I won’t stop either of you.” He then turned to you, handed you your wrap before offering you his now free arm, “Come (Y/n), I do believe it’s for the best we return to The House of Lamentation.”
You both made it back safely to The House of Lamentation and had your dinner during your walk. Before you entered the front gates of the home, Lucifer turned to you and gave you a sad sigh.
“I had a pleasurable day with you today (Y/n),” he began. “I wish we could’ve stayed longer but I apologize that our plans were interrupted by those hoodlums.”
“It’s not your fault.” You ease, “It was theirs for thinking I was an easy target. And besides, I got to test out Satan’s Pact Form in real time!” You cleared your throat, still a tad embarrassed that he saw how you got towards those two demons. Regardless of how much they genuinely deserved it.
“But, I want to look at the positives of today. I had a wonderful time with you today, and I’d love to do this again sometime.” Lucifer smiled down at you, happy that despite the fact your date was interfered by some lowly demons, you were looking at the positives of today. That’s something he always respected about you.
“I would love to do this again sometime as well.” He smiles before leaning down to you and gently kissing your cheek. Your whole face turned bright red which Lucifer gave a chuckle. “If you’d like, we could continue this in my room, the night is still quite young after all-“
“Like hell I’d let ya hoard (Y/n) in ya room all night!!!”
You snapped out of it for a moment before Lucifer let out a long, exasperated sigh. You turn to find four of his brothers running to the both of you, ready to put their two cents in.
“Ya ain’t spending anymore time with her! Ya already spend enough time with her!!”
“Yeah! You had her all to yourself today and everyday recently!” Belphie pouted.
“Oh? That may be as of recent; but I think I deserve a little more time with (Y/n) given you lot have been following us throughout our date today.” The four looked to Lucifer with shock and you just blinked in surprise, they were following you both throughout the whole date? That may explain why you felt like you were being watched….
“W-wha? Come on big bro! W-we didn’t do that! Y-ya probably were imaginin’-“
“Mammon, there’s no hiding it, we got caught.” You all turn to find Satan and Asmo, returning back to the house, not a drop of blood on them.
“Asmo and I handled the two demons that gave (Y/n) an issue, we won’t be seeing them again anytime soon.”
“And they won’t be going near a human for a while. ❤️” Asmo adds in sweetly.
“Wait,” Beel realizes. “What happened to (Y/n)?” The four looked to you with concern.
”Well, a few demons decided to try and give me some trouble….” You then proceed to tell the brothers how while Lucifer was waiting for your meals, two demons came and tried to lure you away so they could take your soul, how you were left with no choice but to transform into Satan’s Pact Form to handle them.
“Oi! Ya mean some lower demons were tryin’ to take ya?!” Mammon freaks.
“Are you hurt?” Beel asks with concern, his eyes gently looking you over for wounds or bruises.
“Those Normies think they can touch my Henry with their grubby Normie hands…” Levi growls out.
“Guys I’m fine, really!” You try to ease, “I managed to defend myself successfully and Satan and Asmo took care of them!”
“Speaking of,” Belphie spoke up, “did I hear you say you transformed into Satan’s Pact Form?” Silence filled the room before they looked to you.
“I did!” You smile, “And it worked too!”
“Well why don’t ya share it?! We gotta see it for ourselves!” Mammon excitedly exclaims.
“Yeah I wanna see Satan’s Pact Form!” Beel smiles.
“Same here!”
“Oh I want to see it again! ❤️”
“Alright,” Lucifer spoke up, breaking the excitement. “We can watch it; but we do this demonstration in the gardens.”
“I agree.” Satan surprisingly nods. “I can grab some of my practice equipment and she can use it for a demonstration.”
“Pact Form Avatar of Wrath: Satan!” You transformed in the gardens into Satan’s Pact Form, taking a fighting stance and now ready for this demonstration. The brothers, minus Satan and Lucifer, cheered and hooted at the new Pact Form. Asmo and Levi then began to record to post to their social medias. Before you transformed, Satan grabbed a few of his cinder blocks and several wooden 2x4 boards. He stacked the cinder blocks on top of one another while adding in between, a wooden plank, ready for your demonstration.
“Wrath’s fury!” You hollered while swinging your leg up in the air and hammering it down, breaking multiple boards in half. The brothers all look in shock except for Lucifer who was smiling proudly and Satan who was beaming at the sight of you in his Pact Form.
“She’s like Satan when he has one of his episodes…” Levi whispers.
“J-just be glad she ain’t directin’ that Wrath’s Fury at us…” whispers Mammon.
You transformed back into your date clothes, a tad worn out from the use of magic in one day and from the day out in general. A shower, and maybe something fun to do would do you good.
“I don’t know about you boys,” you puff, “but I think I’m going to take a shower. I feel a bit exhausted.”
“Alright, you head back inside and shower, I will meet you in my study to finish our date after I handle my brothers.” He then turns his attention to his younger siblings, crossing his arms and giving off his demonic aura.
The younger of the seven all looked to the eldest with shock and worry.
“H-hey big bro’ whatchya planin’ doin’ that for?” Mammon swallowed.
“Oh? Did you lot seriously think I would forget how all of you tailed me and (Y/n) on our date?” His aura suddenly became more oppressing as the seconds ticked by. “I am going to teach you how it is rude to follow someone while they are on a date.”
The brothers all gulped in fear hearing the eldest prepare to deliver a punishment they soon not forget, while you just high tailed it out of there. Honestly, you rather not know what he had in mind.
Pact form Avatar of Wrath’s abilities: Increase in strength: in this form, your strength is increased a significant amount, you’ll be strong enough to lift heavy items and break items.
Wrath’s fury: when using this kick, you’ll be able to cause damage to your enemy or item in question.
Wrath’s Vex: In this form, you can summon four green orbs made from Satan’s magic that can explode when close to the target.
Martial arts skills: in this form, you gain the ability to use martial arts for physical combat-based attacks.
Increased IQ: due to Satan’s high IQ levels, your IQ levels increase to his level.
Increased magical abilities: due to Satan being skilled with magic, your magical abilities increase as well.
Glasses: This form gives you a set of glasses that reflect any eye-based magic and allows you to read at the same speed as Satan.
Notes:
I always felt like Satan learned martial arts over the years from some of the books he read. While yes, he’s extremely proficient in magic, I feel he learned martial arts to make him have an edge in hand-to-hand combat and also discipline his anger further (and knowing him, one up Lucifer). I also like to think eventually he decided take classes, but if I were to guess, I’d put him in the level of a black belt.
When you take his Pact Form; you gain the knowledge and ability of martial arts as well as be able to wield magic similar to his.
Personally this form was heavily inspired after Bayonetta to a degree. Mostly the ponytail and glasses… but I also feel Satan, like Lucifer needs glasses but since he doesn’t want to be anything similar to him, Satan would wear contact lenses and his vision isn’t too bad, just maybe a minor astigmatism.
