Chapter Text
“Through the Force, two individuals shall come, born of no fathers, bearing rivalling strength, power and ability. And through this dyad, through the Chosen Ones will ultimate balance in the Force be restored, come light or dark.”
For light years, an ancient Jedi prophecy, made by an ancient Jedi Mystic and recorded upon a holocron, foretold that the Chosen Ones would restore balance to the Force, wielding growing power and strength that would rival any other. They would restore a balance, whether the light or dark corrupted their hearts.
The Jedi had long spoken of balance in the Force, and yet with the keepsake and possession of the ancient holocron, there was no consensus on what that meant for the galaxy. The prophecy was henceforth misconstrued, too deeply analysed or not enough, through the light years by many. Some believed that balance came from the light side of the Force and the dark side of the Force being held equal. Some thought the light side could be the Force in its natural state, a state of harmony and balance. And some saw the need for the dark side to be free and the light side suppressed in order to achieve balance within the Force. Others had different beliefs entirely.
The Jedi Council of the modern day seemed to worry that the prophecy hinted at one side overcoming the galaxy entirely, an ultimate balance of two individuals evenly residing in one side. With a sense of darkness looming, their worry was in regard to the Sith, that both would aid its resurrection. Long had they now believed that these individuals meant the very salvation or destruction of the galaxy. ‘Come light or dark’, whatever nature they fell under, they would bring an ‘ultimate balance’, a final mark in the force. They couldn’t believe the Force would create such a power just to turn it dark. So henceforth, it was foretold that the Chosen Ones, in all their rivalling power and ability, would restore balance to the Force by destroying the Sith.
Many still feared their coming, unsure of the fate of the galaxy should the Chosen Ones finally emerge and come together. Most expected some kind of Gods or ill omens to appear, but what awaited them was of far less grandeur, or at least, unassuming grandeur. For two unassuming women, strangers to one another, bore a child each on Tatooine, both to be born of no fathers.
The Force brought them into this galaxy, but it would not control their fates as many believed.
Only they could determine where their hearts would ultimately lie.
