Chapter 1: Gift
Chapter Text
Pressed between Christmas and New Years, Kim Taehyung's birthday was always overlooked. Growing up on a family owned farm, he was raised humbly; so he never minded this fact. His mom would cook his favorite meal, they'd sing happy birthday, and that was the end of it. He'd already gotten presents from Christmas, and they saved their special sweets for New Year's Eve. It was never an issue.
However, his new friends tried to make it an issue.
Ever since he moved to this new small town, the friends he made tried every year to get Taehyung to care more about it than he did. Seven years, seven birthdays. They progressively got less elaborate each year. Taehyung stressed to them especially this year that he wanted to spend it alone, cuddled up under a pile of blankets and a good book in his hand.
That's exactly how Taehyung was presently, on his twenty eight birthday, late in the evening. In his apartment above the café he owned, reading a new book one of his aforementioned friends, Namjoon, recommended. Watership Down was a heavier read than he'd expected on this cozy winter day, but his day was going exactly as he planned it to. That was what mattered the most. Cup of coffee on the side table, silence in the room, curtains closed, lights to a minimum, besides the lamp he was using to read. He slept in a bit today as well, a sweet eight in the morning was late for him. Normally, he was up at four to open his café.
He didn't like to shut down his café very often, but it was slower during the winter season anyways. It was never remarkably busy in the first place. The small town he chose to move to was magical. Fairly unknown, slow. Taehyung's type of place. His cafe sat in the main business part of town, it looked almost European. Red brick sidewalks, old fashioned iron flame light posts, plants and vines sprawling up buildings. There wasn't an incredible need to drive, most people rode bikes. Everything was along this road. A market for food, several other restaurants, clothing stores.
Taehyung's Cafe, Berry Café, sat between a jewelry store and a vacant building. It had always been his dream to own a café of some sort. He made specialty coffees, fresh pastries, and sandwiches. There was a large window in the front, the inside captured the morning light well, and as the day went on it turned into a cozy little place to be. He only had one shop employee. He never felt the need to hire another, or get a hybrid to help.
Because, in this world, that's what people did. For ages now, hybrids have been around. They were created to be helpers to mankind, companions. They started as helpers for the rich only, and now nearly everyone had one. There were all kinds too, depending on what one might want. The more rare animal hybrids were owned by the rich for collection purposes. Flexing.
On the farm back home, they never had any. Therefore, Taehyung never felt like he needed one. Sure, they were cute, and maybe could help with his loneliness, but they were a lifelong commitment if you were a good owner. They aged the same as humans did since they were only half animal.
Taehyung's phone started ringing. He picked it up quickly knowing exactly who it was.
“Hey mom,” He said as a warm, boxy smile spread over his face. Once he answered, he heard a chorus of the birthday song being sung to him. Once they were done, Taehyung laughed a little and thanked them.
“You know we do this every year. We miss doing it in person so much!” His mom said. “Taehyung, how are you? Are you eating well? Is the business going okay?” She asked in quick succession. Like she did every time she called, which was once a month.
“I'm doing well mom, eating, and the business is great. Everything's…” He paused and took a deep breath, a brief thought crossed his mind. Everything objectively was good. But, there were times it got quiet around his apartment. He didn't see his local friends very often because they all worked. He didn't have a significant other either to keep him company. He was generally content with his life. Doing what he dreamed of doing in a perfect town, made enough money to live and spend comfortably. But, like most other people, he wanted more. He wanted someone to love. To take care of.
“Taehyung?” His mom said, pulling him from his thoughts.
“Hm? Oh yeah everything's great.” Taehyung smiled. “How’s the farm? Is dad doing okay?”
“You know us, everything's going just fine. Our highland just had her first calf. We got help this time, your dad isn't getting around as well as he used to after all.”
“I know, I worry about him sometimes. I'm glad you got help. Are they from town?”
“Actually, we got one of those hybrids the city people have.” That surprised Taehyung. Even his parents were in on this??
“Oh, wow. What kind is it?” Taehyung wondered.
“He’s one of those jackrabbits. Real tall, handsome young fellow.”
Taehyung laughed a little. He figured it didn’t matter that much. They were getting help, that's all that mattered.
“Not a dog type?” Taehyung asked.
“Nah, too much energy. We talked to the adoption agency, and they recommended him highly. We are loving him. He's like another son,”
Taehyung smiled. He was happy for them.
“Maybe I'll come up sometime and meet him.” Taehyung suggested. His mom gasped in delight.
“Oh! We'd love that, please do. We miss you Taehyungie. We're so proud of you too, you know?”
His heart was filled with warmth. “I know mom. I miss you too.”
“Alright, I'll let you go. I know your friends have been doing stuff with you on your day. We love you,”
“I love you too, take care.”
With that, the call ended. Taehyung felt the warmth from the call linger inside the room. He didn't feel guilty for leaving home, but he missed his parents sometimes. Especially around the holidays, all alone in his little apartment above the café.
His friends hadn't called, or texted at all. For a normal day that wasn't unusual. But, on his birthday it was suspicious. They'd thrown a couple surprise parties during his time here. Or, maybe he'd give them the benefit of the doubt and say they respected his wishes to have a quiet birthday this year.
Until the text alert went off on his phone.

K…
Taehyung was a little afraid. But, the anxiety was pleasant. He had friends who would go out of their way for him, and loved him just the way he was. What a blissful nerve to feel that his friends might surprise him on his birthday.
Taehyung got off the couch for the first time in a few hours. He threw on some sweatpants because he hadn't been wearing any pants all day. His friends didn't mind, but he wanted to be prepared for anything.
Fifteen minutes later, the doorbell rang. Taehyung switched on an extra floor lamp by the door before he answered it. His friends were there, wearing winter coats and hats. It was a pretty cold December day.
“Happy birthday!” They both said at roughly the same time when he opened his door. Taehyung gave a gentle smile to them.
“Thanks guys, you didn't need to come out here to say that.” There was suspicion in his voice, he hoped they caught.
“You wouldn't let us throw you a party or take you out. It was the least we could do.” Namjoon said, shrugging his shoulders casually.
“Haven't seen you in a few weeks, not to hang out anyways.” Hoseok mentioned.
The last time he saw Namjoon, he was at his bookstore buying the new book he was reading today. Namjoon owned the only bookstore in town just down the street. Hoseok owned a small farm in town and sold his products in the market. He also sold to Taehyung directly for some of his ingredients for the café. This was the case with most people in town. They all knew each other, and bought each other's foods, products. Taehyung loved it. He loved knowing the people who made the winter hats they all wore, or the yummy treats in the market.
“I know, I had a busy streak around Christmas that died right after. New Year's will be the same.” Taehyung rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't mind the rushes, but preferred slowing down so he could spend more time meticulously making every drink or pastry he sold.
“Ah I get it. But, it's easier for us since we both have hybrids.” Namjoon said. Taehyung felt like an outsider, people talked about their hybrids so casually. He didn't understand it.
Namjoon had a hamster hybrid named Seokjin. Namjoon had owned him since he was young, which was somewhat common. Hoseok had two cats. Yoongi, his sleepy older cat that helped with paperwork on the farm. And Jimin, a more outgoing, physically affectionate kitty who did more of the physical labor. Hoseok adopted them as a pair, but said they refused to be adopted separately.
“Sooo speaking of hybrids, Taehyung.” Hoseok chimed in. “Namjoon and I noticed, you don't really get out much. And you don't have anyone around to keep you company.”
“Yeah, true. I have Jisoo, who helps with the café. And I just like being inside, I guess ?” He wasn't sure why he sounded hesitant. Maybe the fact it was the holidays, and his birthday he was thinking extra about his personal wants for a partner.
Namjoon and Hoseok exchanged looks. Excited, hesitant, a little crazy. Taehyung's eyes flickered between the two of them, squinting suspiciously. They were hiding something.
“We got you a Christmas present. From both of us.” Hoseok said.
“Something we think you need.” Namjoon added. The build up was driving him crazy. He knew they had something up their sleeves.
“Sooo…” Hoseok dragged the word out, then the two of them slowly slid to stand farther apart. They gestured to the lower stairs leading up to his apartment.
Standing there, just a couple feet away, in only a large white t-shirt, was a bunny. A bunny hybrid.
His friends faded into the background. Once his eyes laid upon the bunny, he forgot what was happening. Because the hybrid was beautiful. Looked male, around their age. His hair was shorter in the front with wispy bangs that adorned his well-groomed eyebrows. Longer hair in the back like a stylish mullet. He had black ears to match his hair with white rings around the inside. He had this sweet face, puffy red cheeks, cherry red pouty lips. And those eyes, huge brown eyes, sparkled in the light like a thousand stars had been caught in them.
The bunny only made eye contact for a few seconds before looking away. He seemed shy.
Taehyung was brought back into reality. Forced himself to be.
“Guys.. I really appreciate this but.. I don't know..” Taehyung kept his eyes on the bunny. Hard to look away. Though he wasn't sure he could responsibly accept this gift. He had never owned a hybrid before. Never thought about it, didn't know the first things about taking care of one.
“We saw him in the adoption window, on sale. The agency said nothing was wrong with him, he's just really shy.” Hoseok said, walking down to the bunny and guiding him up the steps.
Once the bunny was closer, Taehyung got a better look at him. His round nose, pretty skin, some strong looking thighs… Taehyung wasn't familiar with the etiquette around this type of thing. He knew some people bought hybrids to sleep with them. But, did they know what they were adopted for ?? Could that change ?? The Department of Hybrids was a little complex, he'd heard before. They handled adoption processing, to keep track of them. Hybrid work permits for those who were hired to work. Hybrid safety commission handled cases of illegal things surrounding hybrids, which was a whole other thing on its own.
Taehyung was in way over his head. But, the bunny flickered his eyes up at Taehyung again. They looked so sad.. his ears were downturned. And why wasn't he wearing anything for the cold weather ?? He must be so cold..
“We can take him back if you really don't want him but we really suggest-” Namjoon started, until Taehyung cut him off.
“I'll take him.” He blurted out, faster than he was able to process himself. “Yeah, thanks for thinking of me guys.” Taehyung smiled at his friends. They looked relieved after he said it.
Namjoon swiftly moved down the stairs to his car that was parked on the street in front of the café. He got out a big duffle bag, then brought it back up.
“Here's a bunch of starter stuff, including his adoption information. We weren't going to just throw him at you, after all.”
Taehyung's shoulders relaxed when he was handed the bag. He was glad he wouldn't need to run out immediately to get stuff for him. He couldn't believe this was happening.
Taehyung took a step forward, gentle smile on his face.
“What's your name?” He asked the bunny, who turned his face away, not answering with words. He squeaked out some little bunny sounds.
“He's really shy, hasn't said a word to us. But, the agency says his name is Jungkook.” Hoseok said. Taehyung nodded.
“Wow, pretty name. So nice to meet you, Jungkook. I'm Taehyung. If you want, you can just call me that.”
The bunny didn't respond, didn't even nod, but Taehyung saw the way his ears twitched when he was being spoken to. He heard.
“Thanks guys, I'll uh, take things from here.” Taehyung hugged his friends goodbye. The two of them left together as they came. Taehyung ushered the bunny into his apartment. He had chills all over his body, shaking from the cold. Taehyung felt bad for him.
He put the duffle bag down, then grabbed his blanket off the couch.
“Here, let me help you,” Taehyung wrapped it around the bunny and led him to the heat radiator. He had the bunny sit down beside it to warm up.
His new bunny seemed to like it a lot, he visibly relaxed all his muscles, ears slightly perking up. He laid down on the floor beside the radiator so naturally, it made Tae a little happy to see.
Taehyung let the bunny quietly settle into his spot while he fished out the adoption papers.
Everything looked good. He was healthy, passed the doctor's check up. But, they wrote he was extremely shy. He refused to speak, though he could. Didn't like large crowds, kept to himself. It concerned Taehyung. He worried about the bunny potentially having some troubling past that made him this way. But, his history was clear except for one owner who was very old and passed away. Maybe he had been so used to one person? He hoped he'd open up a little.
Taehyung glanced at the bunny on the floor. He was breathing slower, and his eyes were closed. He was sleeping so soundly. Taehyung wouldn't dare wake him up. He must've been tired. Who knows what kind of day he's had?
He grabbed another blanket, laying it over the bunny. Taehyung scrunched his nose up a little. Jungkook smelled a little, he'd need a bath soon. The thought of giving him a bath made his cheeks flush. Hybrids weren't legally or scientifically considered human, but for the most part they still had all the same physical features. Giving him a bath would be like giving another guy a bath. Taehyung very quickly understood why lots of people considered their hybrids to be life partners, romantically. In fact, Taehyung remembered the relationship between his friends and their hybrids. They shared some romantic ties.
Taehyung deduced his friends got him this hybrid for that purpose. A partner. But that idea was so strange to him. He told himself he’d try this out, optimistically. It would take some adjusting. But, he was already feeling drawn to the bunny boy. He wanted to take care of him, he was so curious about him.
Though, all of that would have to wait. Taehyung decided since the bunny was asleep, it was a good time to sleep. He could tackle tomorrow when it came to him. He stood in his living room debating if he should sleep on the couch to watch the bunny or sleep in his room. Maybe the bunny would feel more comfortable if he wasn’t in the room for the time being.
He left his bedroom door open, just in case. There were still so many unknown factors. Taehyung wasn’t going to sleep very well tonight. He was so unprepared, feeling the weight of responsibility laying on him. He was now responsible for a whole hybrid. Realistically he should have said no to his friends, had them take him back but it was those eyes that got him. Those huge sparkly brown eyes. He wanted to see them again and again.
Taehyung wasn’t sure what was happening to him. His heart was racing at the same speed his mind was. But none of his thoughts were connecting, it was a mess in his head. Yet, knowing he’d wake up with someone else in the apartment was strangely comforting.
Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Chapter Text
Taehyung’s phone alarm woke him up the next morning at four thirty. He was opening the cafe today, expecting it to be busy for New Year’s Eve. It didn’t take much for him to get ready in the morning. He rolled out of bed, still half asleep. Went to the bathroom, brushed his teeth, his hair, threw on an outfit, by then he was usually more awake and ready to head straight down to the cafe. But, this morning he’s forgotten something vital.
When he left his bedroom, there was a certain bunny boy sitting in the middle of his living room, wide awake. He was looking around the room curiously, his nose occasionally flaring up like he was sniffing something new. His hair was a mess, going every direction possible on top of his head. His cheeks were slightly pink and puffy, perhaps a sign of good sleep.
Taehyung watched him from his bedroom door for a couple minutes. It took him that long to remember what the bunny was doing in his apartment. He was given this bunny hybrid as a gift last night, right . He needed to go downstairs and open the cafe. He definitely couldn’t let the bun stay with him all day, they didn’t know each other yet, he didn’t know what to expect. His only choice was to let him stay in the apartment alone until at least lunch time.
He stepped out of his room, clearing his throat to announce his presence. The bunny’s ears were perked up, standing straight up at attention. His eyes snapped up to Taehyung, watching him move closer with cautious eyes. Those big, beautiful eyes.
“I have to go downstairs and work today,” Taehyung started explaining. He squatted down to the floor in front of Jungkook, keeping eye contact. “I’ll be back up here in.. six or seven hours. You can look in my kitchen to see if there’s anything you’d like to eat. What’s mine is yours now.”
The bunny remained unresponsive, not indicating that he understood what Taehyung had said at all. They’d need to work on that first when Taehyung got the chance. If this was going to work out, he needed some sort of body language or sign.
“Listen, I know this is new, and must be scary for you, but if you want me to take care of you, I’ll need a signal or sign that you understand me okay?”
Jungkook blinked a few times in rapid succession. He tilted his head to the side, little squeaky bunny noises coming from his throat. No words, no nodding. But, it was something. He might’ve looked like a doll, but Taehyung didn’t ever want an actual doll. He didn’t want a hybrid, never thought he needed one. But, he was willing to try. He admitted it made his life a million times more complex and exciting overnight.
Taehyung slowly lifted his hand to Jungkook’s face, to let him sniff. His intrusive thoughts took over, he wanted to pet his head so badly, but needed Jungkook to be comfortable with him.
The bunny cautiously leaned forward, nostrils flared as he sniffed Taehyung’s hand. He pressed his pink tipped round nose to Tae’s palm, inhaling deeper. His eyelashes fluttered shut, soft lips brushing on the heel of his palm. Taehyung couldn’t decipher any of this, but the bunny was so pretty, he didn’t have a single thought in his head.
Jungkook pulled back, scrunched his nose up a little, then hummed . As if he came to some conclusion by sniffing Taehyung’s hand. He looked down at his palm and wondered what the bunny smelled on it. Whatever he got from that, Taehyung thought it felt like progress so he stood up.
“Okay, I’m going now.” He said before moving to the kitchen to pick up his keys. He took one last look at the bunny who was peacefully looking around still. This would be fine. Right?
Once Taehyung left the apartment, he locked the door behind him. He wasn’t worried about the bunny leaving, because hybrids knew better than that. If they tried to run away while under legal ownership, they had a lot of rights taken away from them. Taehyung heard it was for their protection, a lot of them couldn’t outright take care of themselves. Most didn’t want to.
He jogged down the stairs outside, then around to the back of the cafe. He spent the next fifteen minutes prepping to open. Not skipping the step where he made his own cup of coffee to wake him up. He loved these silent, slow mornings. He was able to prepare himself mentally and get into focus.
The backdoor opened five minutes until they opened. It was his only employee, Jisoo, coming in. She was wrapped up in a giant fluffy pink scarf and some earmuffs. Shivering until she entered the warmth of the cafe.
“Morning Jisoo, everything’s prepped.” Taehyung said as a greeting. He was turning on the industrial ovens so they could get out the baked items in a bit.
“Ah, morning boss.” She always had the warmest smile on her face, she was really an angel- a godsend to him. She didn’t need the job because her girlfriend made bank. She did this for fun, and a little spending money of her own.
“I think we’ll get busier towards the end of the day, so let’s take it easy this morning.” Taehyung walked towards the front of the cafe to officially unlock the front door.
Things were going pleasantly this morning. They had a few customers here and there, picking up their morning coffee. This was standard. They had several regulars who came every single day at the same time. Taehyung loved them. The fact they liked what he made so much they spent money here every day.
Including Jisoo’s girlfriend, Jennie. The front door swung open, the little bell ringing to indicate someone had entered. Taehyung didn’t need to look up to know who it was. Her heels clicked on the hardwood floor satisfyingly as Jennie walked up to the counter.
“Morning baby,” Jennie said, leaning over the counter to Jisoo, who was already sliding her coffee over to her. Jisoo leaned forward to give a soft peck to her lips.
“Can’t believe you’re going to work today,” Jisoo complained. “Does the world have to run every day?”
Jennie pulled out her wallet and paid with a laugh. “I have tomorrow off. I told you, right? We’re going to the party tonight at Jackson’s.” Jackson’s was the only bar in town, always busy. “Taehyung, want to come with?”
Taehyung shook his head. “No, I uh, my friends got me a hybrid for my birthday. I want to spend time with him.”
The two girls looked surprised. “Really? I thought you didn’t care about them.” Jisoo said.
“My friends think I’m lonely or something,” He grumbled out the last part of it.
“They’re not wrong, you always have this forlorn look on your face you know?”
“I do?”
“Totally.” They both said it in unison, then laughed at each other. Watching them interact made Taehyung feel lonely for sure.
“Anyways. We’re just seeing how it goes for now. Not sure how I’ll like having him around.” Taehyung busied his hands with something.
“Aw, I hope I get to meet him someday.” Jisoo said. “What kind is he?”
“Bunny, not sure the breed.”
“Oh? I heard bunnies can be difficult.” Jennie stirred her coffee around, then took a sip.
As if on queue, from the apartment above, the three of them heard thumping . They all looked up at the ceiling. It stopped, then continued.
“Should you check on him?” Jisoo asked. Taehyung pursed his lips, thinking about it. Was this a normal bunny thing? Maybe he was just exploring the apartment??
He didn’t get a chance to make a decision, because a line of customers came in at once. He couldn't afford to think about the bunny while they were in a rush.
The rush that didn’t stop, all day. The whole shift they were busy, Jisoo and Taehyung running around the cafe to get things done. It was unusual, good, stressful, exhausting. Neither of them took a lunch break, sneaking bites of a sandwich here and there to keep their energy up.
Their chaotic day ended at five in the evening. They were both covered in coffee dust, syrups, flour, sugar, and sweat. Jisoo left once they had everything cleaned up, but she still had a smile on her face.
Taehyung’s legs were cramping already. He was glad he gave them the day off tomorrow for New Year’s. He slowly climbed the stairs to his apartment, and dug out his keys. He was looking forward to a bath, a hot meal, and maybe some wine to top the night off. He forgot something, soon to be remembered once he opened the door.
He automatically turned the lamp on when he walked in, without looking up. Once he shut the door behind him, his head turned up, and his mouth dropped open.
The apartment was ruined. Not some papers on the floor, or maybe some clothes. There was shit everywhere. Clothes, papers, cotton from inside the couch. The couch that was scratched. There were bite marks on the furniture that was knocked over too. Unknown spills, trash knocked over and strewn about every which way. It looked like a tornado came through. Maybe a hurricane.
Sitting in the middle of the mess was Jungkook. He had looked up when Taehyung entered the room, facial expression blank. It was very obvious he was the one who had done this. He had stains on his white t-shirt, a half eaten loaf of bread in his hand. He didn’t look remorseful, or afraid of what Taehyung was going to say. Like he had just teleported into this mess and had nothing to do with it, really.
Taehyung let out a long breath of air, closing his eyes. He was so tired. He now had to spend the day tomorrow cleaning this up. But, he didn’t get mad at the bunny. He took the blame for this immediately. He shouldn’t have left a new bunny he didn’t know up here alone. This was his fault as an owner.
Taehyung set his keys down on the kitchen counter, then walked towards the bunny. He stopped when he was standing in front of him. Jungkook looked up at him with those innocent sparkly eyes, making Taehyung forget the mess for a moment. Taehyung held out his hand for the bunny to take.
“C’mon.” He said, waving his hand a little to beckon him to take it. Jungkook slowly did, his warm and soft hands gently gripping Taehyung’s as he stood up. It was at this point the bunny finally looked apprehensive, like he was bracing for some discipline. It didn’t come.
Taehyung gripped his hand a little more, leading him into the bathroom. He wordlessly ran a warm bath and pulled the stained t-shirt off of Jungkook. He was so tired, his nakedness didn’t phase him like he thought it would. Taehyung took his own clothes off, and helped the bunny into the bath.
Jungkook looked confused the whole time. His eyes never left Taehyung’s face, looking for some kind of animosity to show up, or a sign he was going to get yelled at. Taehyung sat in the bath with him, and grabbed his shampoo to wash the bunny’s hair first. He was careful around his ears. He didn’t know much about bunny hybrids, but he did know their ears were the most sensitive part of them. Jungkook let him, leaning his head to the side upon being promoted to.
Once Taehyung had the bunny cleaned, he washed himself in a similar manner. He didn’t say anything the whole time. He was tired, but he was also lost in thought.
Tae leaned back against the bath when they were both clean, closing his eyes and giving himself a moment to relax. The warm water was perfect for his aching body, and his chaotic mind.
After a few minutes of silence, Taehyung opened his eyes and spoke to the bunny.
“Jungkook.” The bunny flinched , not expecting his voice. Or perhaps expecting something worse. “I’ve never owned a hybrid before. You’re my first one. My family didn’t have one growing up either, I’ve stayed ignorant of you all these years.” He sighed. “It’s my fault, I should’ve known better than to leave you alone up here all day like that. I should’ve taken the day off to learn, to be with you.” Taehyung pushed his wet hair back, out of his face. “I’m sorry, I want to try this. I want to be a good owner for you, I think I need it.” He didn’t elaborate, but in his mind Taehyung felt like the bunny’s presence in his life might be just what he’s been missing for a while. He wanted to try it at least.
Jungkook’s pink lips parted a little as he listened, this look of realization came over his face. When Taehyung was finished speaking, the bunny looked like he was deep in thought. Eyes searching for something all over the room. He brought his knees up to his chest, and hugged them. His ears drooped down, eyes avoiding Taehyung now.
Taehyung didn’t expect him to answer. But he was a bunny of surprises.
“‘M sorry. I did it on purpose.” The bunny spoke. Taehyung melted. His voice was so breathy and pretty, he wanted to hear more. And, he got what he wanted because the bunny decided to speak suddenly. “Usually the owners just kick me out after I make a mess… The last four did.”
“Four?” Taehyung didn’t see any of this on the adoption papers, maybe the agency was hoping to sell him off quickly and get him off their hands…
“I’ve had six owners, you’re the seventh. I don’t want to be owned.” Taehyung was the one whose mouth was hanging open now. He was so underprepared for this. But, if he didn’t want to be owned, why did he let Taehyung give him a bath? Guilt, maybe.
“I won’t pry anymore. But, legally I am your owner right now. If you ran away, and got caught you’d have serious repercussions-”
“I know. That’s why I trashed the place instead. The other owners returned me when I did. If I get returned enough they will mark me as unadoptable to the Hybrid Commission. I’ll get sent to some hybrid rehab, but I’ll be free.”
“From one prison to the other.” Taehyung said. Jungkook’s gaze snapped up to meet his.
“What do you mean?”
“The hybrid rehab isn’t a free place, you’re still owned. But by the government. I’d say that’s worse.” He heard about it from his friends at some point when they were talking about hybrid politics. It wasn’t a place with sunshine and rainbows. It was a government facility to retrain and rehome the crazier hybrids. They had less rights there than they did being owned by citizens.
Jungkook furrowed his brows together and thought about it. His thumb came up to his lip and he chewed on it.
“So, I run away, I have no chance, I get to rehab, I’m a government slave, and being owned I’m at your mercy..” Jungkook looked like he was getting distressed, worked up really fast. Taehyung sat up, and put his hand on his knee gently.
“Hey, look at me.” He said in a soft tone. Jungkook did, so obediently. He must’ve been trained at some point in his life, he wasn’t just a wild thing that didn’t know any better.
“I don’t know you, and you don’t know me. I get it. There’s a lack of trust here now. But, I think we can help each other out. If you want independence I could help you.” There were processes for hybrids to enter society as singular entities. Their own owners. But, it required them having been owned, and their owners helping with the process. There weren’t many who chose to do it, hybrids tended to enjoy being with their humans more. Taehyung wasn’t sure what Jungkook had been through to come to this choice, but he must've had a really good reason to want his independence.
Jungkook’s ears perked up. “But… what do you even get out of it?” He was fair to not trust Taehyung. This was natural.
“I don’t know.” He did know. He would have someone around, someone to take care of and do things with. “I feel responsible for your wellbeing. Let me take care of you.”
Jungkook was silent again, eyes cutting a little at Taehyung. He didn’t seem to like the idea of being taken care of. Or- he didn’t like the idea of a human being the one to do it.
“Think about it. For now, you’re stuck with me.” Taehyung said, moving to stand up. “We’ll take it one step at a time, bun.” He stood up and held out his hand to help Jungkook up. The bunny’s cheeks were pink, he didn’t miss it. Did he like the pet name? He wouldn’t dare pry about that, not when he’d gotten the bunny to talk so much.
When Jungkook stepped out of the bath, it was Taehyung’s turn to blush. He saw Jungkook’s tail, sitting right above a perky little tight ass. Taehyung was still a man, he couldn’t help himself. It was cute, especially the way it wiggled to get the water out of his fur. Taehyung felt like he was doomed.
He dried Jungkook off with a towel, blow dried his hair out, and led him to the trashed bedroom. Taehyung stepped over a pile of clothes and rummaged through it. Thankfully he was able to find some pajama pants and a shirt for the bunny, helping him get dressed. Taehyung took care of himself after Jungkook, getting dressed in some shorts and a hoodie.
He still wondered why the bunny let him do this. The way he moved when Taehyung was dressing him up was like a second nature to him, like he’d been doing it for a while. Someone had taken good care of him in the past, that much was obvious.
“Hungry?” He asked the bunny, making his way to the kitchen. Jungkook’s ears were lowered a little. He looked so apologetic. He shook his head, but his tummy was growling.
Taehyung made them both cups of ramen. They sat on his bed, which was the only clean part of the house. They ate silently, Jungkook only mumbled a thank you for the food once he was done eating.
Then, he did something unexpected again. Jungkook got up and started picking the clothes up, folding them, and putting them back in the dresser. Taehyung didn’t say anything. He watched. Jungkook folded them neater than he could fold his own clothes, quickly too. He finished the pile before Taehyung was done eating.
Then, he collected the clothes that were scattered around the rest of the apartment. Taehyung wordlessly stood and joined him in the cleanup. He was beyond tired, but he knew this was an important moment. He wanted to show Jungkook he wasn’t upset, that they were doing this together.
They finished cleaning it all before midnight. The couch was still a little scratched up, but that didn’t bother Taehyung. It was an old couch he found on the side of the road and cleaned up.
“Where do you want to sleep?” Taehyung asked when he came in from taking the trash out to the dumpster.
“Where am I allowed to sleep?” Jungkook asked, an unmistakable amount of sass in his tone.
“Anywhere. My bed, the couch, the floor, the kitchen table, I’m not picky. I’ve lived alone for so long, I don’t have room for guests or roommates.” Taehyung explained. This place was perfect for a single person or a couple, not for two individuals.
Jungkook thought about it, not expecting to have a choice. “Couch.” The obvious answer. Taehyung low-key hoped he’d choose the bed but he understood. He grabbed a pillow and a blanket for him, letting him set up the bed. He didn’t miss the way his tail stuck out from his shirt. Cute as hell.
Jungkook sat on the couch, the blanket covering his lap. Taehyung stood there awkwardly. He felt like he needed to do more, though there was nothing else for him to do today. There was one thing he wanted to do.
“Jungkook?” He asked, walking a little closer. The bunny looked up at him curiously. He hummed in response. Worth a try.
“Can I pet you?” Taehyung asked. He’d wanted to ever since he’d been in his possession. His hair was so soft after washing it, and his ears looked like clouds-
“No.” Jungkook said sharply. Taehyung cleared his throat. Understandable.
“Then, I’ll take my leave for the night.” Taehyung walked away, to his bedroom.
The exhaustion caught up to him when his head hit the pillow. He hadn’t even realized it was past midnight. He was starting this year with someone, though he was a hybrid who didn’t want to be here- it was something.
A new thing.

Chapter 3: Playdate
Summary:
Hoseok brings his hybrids over, Jungkook realizes some things.
Chapter Text
Jungkook hasn't always been this way. It's been through one of those ‘rare traumatic experiences that should never have happened in the first place’ events, he's been made this way. Because, most hybrids are created enjoying being owned. The animal side of them knows they need help, to be taken care of. And the spoiled human side allows it to happen. The human side gives their owners something to relate to, to work with.
Jungkook doesn't mind being a hybrid in theory. He loved being owned by his very first owner, the one who raised him. She was a sweet older lady who had lots of experience raising baby hybrids. With her, he loved fulfilling his purpose. He loved helping her around the house, being a companion to her, getting taken care of. But, she passed away when he was sixteen. As sad as he was, he was optimistic that his next owner would be just like her.
He was dead wrong. He'll never forget the day that rich guy came into the adoption agency he was placed in. In hindsight everything about him was a red flag. He asked them to line up all the bunny hybrids, by age. He chose all of them available that were under eighteen. Then, had them all loaded up into a van with no windows and taken to his mansion.
To put things simply, he was running an illegal bunny hybrid ring. You needed permits to own a certain amount of hybrids, to have them work, to have them as sex workers too. All of which he didn't have. The bunnies were retrained, harshly. Jungkook was one of the only ones who fought back because he knew how owners were supposed to be. This was wrong, fucked up. Because of his fight, he got disciplined the most. Slapped, no food, hard labor, solitary confinement. He was there four years before the Hybrid Commission busted them. The people in the Commission rehomed all the bunnies, but by that point Jungkook was done with it all. He no longer wanted an owner, and didn't trust humans.
Jungkook played innocent, like he was shy. Then, he'd wreck some shit and get taken back to the agency. It was a perfect plan. Until Taehyung.
He didn't react like the others did. He seemed so different from the first night, like he really cared. The others just wanted some cute plaything or an employee. Taehyung… made it clear he didn't know what he was doing, but sincerely tried his best. It helped that the human was also gorgeous but Jungkook pushed that part down.
When the bunny smelled his palm that morning, his smell reminded him of the old lady. Gentle, sweet, warm. It made it hard for Jungkook to trash his place. But, he needed to do it. Right?
When Taehyung didn't discipline him for his behavior, or immediately take him to the agency, it confused him. Instead, he got a nice warm bath and a meal. He dressed Jungkook first, took care of him, and asked him where he wanted to sleep. His plan fell apart. He admitted It. Taehyung was right, if Jungkook ended up at the retraining center he'd be further away from freedom. But was he going to roll over and suddenly let himself be owned like this?
No. He wasn't.
Jungkook woke up on the couch, something in the air smelled amazing. He slowly sat up, rubbing his sleepy eyes, and looking around to the kitchen. Taehyung was already awake, cooking something. Jungkook’s stomach rumbled. It smelled like waffles? Eggs? Sausages ? His mouth was watering.
The human was humming some tune as he worked. Jungkook got to watch him for a few minutes without being noticed. He was unnaturally handsome. Most normal people didn't look like this, right? How was he living alone? Didn't this guy have a partner? Why did he need Jungkook? And those big, gentle hands. He hated to admit it, but he really wanted Taehyung to pet him with those hands. Fate was cruel.
Taehyung's eyes lifted up when he saw Jungkook sitting up finally. He smiled a little, then brought a plate over to him.
“I looked it up online. You don't have dietary restrictions do you? I made us breakfast.” Taehyung handed him the warm plate with utensils. It looked like a photo of what a perfect breakfast looked like.
“Your metabolism is fast too, isn't it? You can eat a lot more than me. I'll need to go shopping soon.”
Jungkook chose not to answer back, instead he picked up the utensils and started eating. And fuck it was amazing. His tail wiggled behind him excitedly. He was glad it was covered. He could keep his face straight, but not his tail. It betrayed him constantly.
Taehyung sat and watched him eat for a few more minutes, then went and ate his own food in the kitchen. Taehyung really acted like he’d never been around a hybrid before. That surprised Jungkook. Everyone had a hybrid. Most humans knew how to handle him, and acted like he was a normal part of life. Taehyung was enamored. Fascinated. Why was it so endearing?
Once he was done eating, Jungkook set his plate on the coffee table. He felt nice and full from that amazing meal.
“Jungkook.” Taehyung called his name, making the bunny sit up and look up at him from the couch. He couldn't help it. Whenever the old lady called his name, he needed to be attentive to her. When he heard his name, he automatically was put into listening mode.
“One of my friends and his hybrids are coming over today. He wants to help me, and you, out. Maybe make this a bit easier. Is that okay?” He asked.
Jungkook blinked a couple times. Why was he asking if it was okay? He could do whatever he wanted to do. Ridiculous. The bunny shrugged in response. It wasn't up to him. He was a hybrid. He didn't get to choose. This human..
Taehyung seemed satisfied with his shrug. He collected the dishes and started washing them.
A few hours later, Jungkook heard footsteps coming up to the apartment. Three pairs. He looked at the door before there was a knock. Taehyung walked briskly to the door, and opened it. From the couch, Jungkook couldn't see very well who was there. But he smelled them.
One human, Taehyung's age. Smelled like.. vegetables? Two cat hybrids. Smelled similar to the human. Jungkook didn’t hate cats, but he was certainly cautious of them. In nature, cats ate bunnies after all.
The three of them filed into the apartment, all eyes on Jungkook. He wanted to hide under Taehyung’s bed. He felt like a zoo animal being gawked at.
“Jungkook, this is my friend Hoseok. You met him a couple days ago.” Taehyung said, coming closer to him. Jungkook nodded a little. He remembered. Two humans came in and bought him, then explained he was going to be a birthday gift for their lonely friend. This was one of them.
“Nice to see you again, Jungkook.” Hoseok had a big smile on his face. He approached Jungkook and held out his hand for him to smell it. It was pretty standard manners for hybrids, for humans to let them smell before interacting with them further. Jungkook sniffed his hand a little, and got all kinds of interesting smells. Dirt, lettuce, herbs. He had strong and weathered hands. He did hard labor it seemed. Farmer?
When Hoseok pulled his hand back, he stepped away and motioned to the two hybrid cats behind him. One was a black cat, the other a calico based on their ear colorings. The black cat looked tired and disinterested, the calico was looking at Jungkook curiously.
“These are my hybrids, Yoongi,” He gestured to the tired looking one. “And Jimin,” He gestured to the calico. “Though, we prefer calling each other partners.” Hoseok explained. Ah, that would be why they all smelled really similar. They were swapping spit on the regular, all three of them.
Jimin stepped forward, throwing caution to the wind as he pushed his nose into Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook moved back away from him, because he didn’t know this cat, and he was all up in his business. But, it gave Jungkook the chance to smell him back. He could tell from his scent he didn’t mean any harm.
“Jimin, don’t be pushy.” The other cat said, pulling him back by his shoulder. Jimin smiled at him.
“Can’t help it, he smells good.” Jimin said, flicking Yoongi’s hand off of him.
Hoseok and Taehyung walked off to the kitchen. Leaving Jungkook to deal with these cats alone. He turned his ears to try and listen in on their conversation.
“... How’s he adjusting?”
“Hard to tell. I got him to talk to me a little yesterday. I think the agency lied on his adoption papers.”
“Huh??”
“He’s had four owners recently. They all brought him back because he… trashed their homes.”
“Oh. Shit, we had no idea, we wouldn’t have gotten him if we knew.”
“That’s why they lied on his papers.”
“Are you going to keep him?”
“...”
“Hey!”
Jungkook was pulled out of focus from the conversation in the kitchen to the cat hybrid in front of him. Jimin laughed and nuzzled his nose into Jungkook’s hair, the bunny cut his eyes and pushed the cat off of him. He felt like they were elementary school kids, and Jimin was the pushy outgoing kid trying to get the quiet introvert to play with him.
Jimin seemed to think he was playing with him, because the cat was laughing. He tackled the bunny down onto the couch, trying to nuzzle his nose into Jungkook’s neck. The bunny huffed and rolled them over, they fell off the couch with Jungkok on top of Jimin. The cat was still laughing, continuing to wrestle and roll around on the floor.
Jungkook caught a glimpse of the other cat rolling his eyes and sitting down in front of the radiator. The bunny guessed this was standard behavior for the kitty.
“Stop,” The bunny whined. Jimin was nipping and biting him playfully on his arms, giggling while he did.
“Oh, he speaks.” Jimin pulled away to pretend to look surprised. Jungkook pushed his stupid face to the side.
“Congrats, you annoyed me enough to make me talk.” He snipped.
“You’re playing with me too,” Jimin said with a pout. “I can see your tail wiggling.”
Jungkook’s cheeks turned dark red. He hadn’t realized it himself, but his tail was happily enjoying this.
“So?” Jungkook looked away. He didn’t mean to, but his neck was exposed in a submissive way under Jimin. The cat’s instincts turned on at the gesture, and he leaned down and nipped at his neck, little rough tongue licking. Jungkook gasped.
That’s when Jimin was being pulled away by his shirt collar. Yoongi dragged him a safe distance away from the bunny. Jungkook was thankful. That was about to go a really weird way.
“Don’t be a freak, Jimin. Just talk to him like a normal person would.” Yoongi sat back down next to the radiator.
Jimin huffed. “I am normal, just playing with him.”
“I wouldn’t call that playing-”
“So! Jungkook, how do you like it here?” Jimin changed the subject really fast.
“It’s fine.” Jungkook answered shortly. He folded his arms.
“Taehyungie’s really nice. I’m a little jealous you get to stay here with him.” Jimin sighed dramatically. “He’s so pretty and smells really nice too. Isn’t he??”
Jungkook rolled his eyes. “He’s fine.”
“Hmmm?” Jimin grinned and crawled back over to the bunny with a smug look on his face. “You’re a difficult bunny aren’t you? I like that.” Jimin pressed his face against Jungkook’s cheek.
Jungkook was tired. Why was this cat being so pushy?
“Jimin.” Hoseok and Taehyung returned to the living room together. Hoseok snapped his fingers and Jimin backed off. “Sorry, I think he’s near his heat.” Hoseok explained. Ah, that made sense.
Taehyung sat on the couch behind him, and Jungkook climbed up, squishing himself up to Taehyung’s arm for protection from the cat in heat. Taehyung hesitantly wrapped his arm around Jungkook’s waist. The cat was pouting, and Jungkook stuck his tongue out at him childishly.
“I think tomorrow we’ll go shopping. I’m going to need more groceries now, and Jungkook doesn’t have any clothes.” Taehyung said.
“Oh, that was my favorite part when I got the cats, they started to show their personalities then. There’s a lot of little hybrid shops down here, we’re lucky to live in a place that has lots of them despite being so small.”
The last time Jungkook went shopping was with the old lady. The other owners hadn’t gotten that far before he was shipped off. He didn’t mind shopping, he’d get to choose his own clothes. At the mansion where he was abused, they all wore the same outfits.
Taehyung would be the first to give him his individuality back. He realized. This guy…
Speaking of, while the two humans were lost in mundane conversation, Taehyung rubbed little circles with his thumb into Jungkook’s side. The bunny felt himself relax under the touch, lean into it a little even. He was jello under the affectionate touch, it had been a while since he was last pet like this. Taehyung was doing something funny to his brain. He couldn’t help the happy bunny noises bubbling up in his throat.
Jungkook didn’t even realize the time was passing so fast. Hoseok stood up at some point, getting his cats up. They were cuddled up together on the floor.
“Thanks for coming by Hoseok, I’ll see you soon.” Taehyung said. He didn’t make any moves to get up.
The three said their goodbyes as they left, leaving Jungkook and Taehyung alone. Cuddled up close to the human, Jungkook felt uncomfortable suddenly. He’d so quickly ran to him for comfort, let him pet him like this-
“Did you like them? The kitties?” Taehyung asked.
“The quiet one was fine… Jimin might’ve been fine if he hadn’t been acting like a fool.” Jungkook grumbled. Taehyung laughed a little at him, then brought his open hand up and examined the little bite marks on Jungkook’s arm.
“He’s playful, I think he likes you,” Taehyung said, rubbing his thumb over one of the marks.
“Too much maybe, I think he wanted to jump my bones there for a second.” Jungkook sighed.
“Yeah? Sorry, Hoseok and I were working stuff out.” Taehyung brought a slow hand up, rubbing his index finger under Jungkook’s chin. The bunny tilted his head back and hummed, becoming a melted popsicle under the contact.
Taehyung took advantage of the moment to pet the hairs on the back of his neck, pulling the bunny closer. Jungkook wasn’t thinking about anything as he slid into the human’s lap except how nice the pets felt.
Taehyung ran his fingers up through his freshly washed hair, rubbing his scalp in a massaging way. Jungkook’s eyes fluttered shut. He let himself enjoy it for now. The human settled his other hand on Jungkook’s waist, rubbing his sweet circles there once more.
Jungkook couldn’t hold back the squeaky bunny sounds coming from his throat. Taehyung boldly pushed a hand through the top of his hair, rubbing where his ears connected to his head.
Something deep inside Jungkook came to the surface, in the form of tears. A couple tears ran down his cheeks. Taehyung stopped.
“Jungkook, hey, what’s wrong?” He asked, concerned tone to his voice.
Jungkook wiped his cheeks, but more kept falling against his will. He covered his face with his forearm. It really had been so long since he got positive touches like that from a human. It felt amazing.
The bunny sniffled and shook his head.
“Nothing,” his voice cracked. “It’s been a while since someone pet me.” He admitted, mumbling it and hoping Taehyung didn’t hear it.
The human gently moved his arm away from his face, then rubbed his tears off his cheeks. Taehyung cupped them, holding his attention now.
“Let me take care of you, bun.” He asked it like it was a proposal, a question. This was the second time it was suggested. Taehyung sounded sincere. He smelled like a good person. That should have been the big green light. But, Jungkook couldn’t move forward past his own stubbornness. He was no one’s pet. No one owned him. It was a confusing place to be because deep down he wanted to be taken care of again.
“I..” Jungkook broke eye contact to look down. His ears drooped down in a sad way. “I don’t want to be owned.”
“I know, I’m not asking to be your owner.” He clarified. “Is wanting to take care of you the same as wanting to own you?”
Jungkook chewed on his bottom lip, thinking it over. The answer was obviously no. Just because he was owned didn’t mean he was taken care of. If he was taken care of, and not owned that was different. There was something about that idea.
A realization hit the bunny, and his eyes got wider, meeting Taehyung’s patient gaze.
“That’s what humans do, with each other. You take care of the ones you like, and don’t own them.. Is that what you’re asking me?”
Taehyung smiled, a breathy laugh falling off his pretty lips. “Yeah. If you want. Legally of course it’s different, but when it’s us here, you belong to no one.”
Jungkook’s hardened heart cracked open, fell apart to reveal a soft, warm muscle that had been hidden for a while. It sounded too good to be true, but Taehyung hadn’t given him any reason not to believe him.
“Why? Why are you doing this?” The bunny asked.
Taehyung hummed in thought. “There’s no grand answer. When I first saw you I wanted to take care of you, aside from being an owner. I can tell you’ve been hurt by humans. I didn’t want to be another one.”
Jungkook nodded in understanding. “Thank you, Taehyung.”
The human’s expression softened, and his eyes widened a little.
“That’s the first time you’ve said my name,” He said in genuine shock.
Jungkook rolled his eyes and gently pushed his head aside. He climbed off his lap.
“Ruined the moment.” He grumbled. All sappy and shit.
“It was a great moment for me.” Taehyung playfully poked his side, then stood up. “Hungry? It’s been a while since we had breakfast.”
Jungkook was always hungry. He didn’t want to say that out loud. “Yeah, I am.”
“I’ll dig around and make us something. Tomorrow when we’re out shopping for you, we’ll need to get groceries.”
Jungkook loved how that sounded. The promise of tomorrow here. Shopping for his own clothes that he wanted. Getting food.
A bunny could get used to this.

Chapter Text
Taehyung feels accomplished, being able to get the bunny to open up a little more to him. Yesterday's conversation yielded him a more talkative bunny. He babbled on through lunch and dinner to Taehyung about practically nothing, but it was sweet. He was getting to see his real personality.
But what a double edged sword it was. The more he was around the bunny, the more he opened it, the more Taehyung felt attracted to him. Not in a cute, pet way. In an ‘I want to kiss you’ way.
His fate was sealed when the bunny climbed in his lap and let him pet him that first time. That was his friends’ plan in the first place. To get him a companion. Taehyung didn't think it would actually work. He didn't think he'd like the bunny enough to ever consider him anything close to a romantic potential partner. Yet, here he was.
They were walking down the street the morning of their shopping trip. The plan was to hit the clothing store, a hybrid essentials store, Namjoon's bookstore, and the market on the way home. Depending on how long everything took, Taehyung also made room in the schedule for a lunch stop.
Jungkook was practically skipping down the sidewalk, taking in all the smells and sights of the town. He told Taehyung during dinner last night he wasn't from here. The adoption agency moved him around from city to city each time. He was pretty far from his hometown, he guessed.
Taehyung ushered the bunny into the clothing store once they arrived. There was a puppy hybrid at the front door to welcome them in.
“Welcome! Is there anything I can help you with today?” She asked.
“Just getting him some clothes. New adoption. Want him to have his own stuff.” Taehyung explained. She smiled at the bunny.
“Oh how wonderful, I can show you to our bunny section if you'd like?”
Jungkook made a face of distaste. “No, I'll find my own stuff. Bunny section is full of fluffy pastels and bows. Not into it.” He said, walking off to a different section of the store.
Taehyung nervously laughed at him and followed behind. He seemed like he knew what he was looking for at least.
Jungkook found the hybrid section and seemed drawn to the blacks. Taehyung didn't comment on anything, just observed. He wondered what kind of outfits the bunny would choose for himself. There were lots of jeans, some chains, and some comfy clothes too.
“I'm gonna try these on.” He announced once he had acquired a large pile.
“If you want my opinion on something, I'll wait outside for you.” Taehyung said, taking a seat outside the dressing room.
The bunny stayed in the dressing room for a while. To be fair he had a substantial amount of clothes to get through. He was smart about his shopping, Taehyung noticed how he chose summer and winter clothes. Thinking ahead.
The door opened, Taehyung sat up a little in his seat at attention. Jungkook stepped out in one of the new outfits. Taehyung's mouth dropped open.
“So, thoughts?” Jungkook asked.
It was a tight graphic t-shirt that was just a little cropped, and some baggy jeans held up by a belt on the last notch because his waist was that small. It showed off his chest, that tiny waist Taehyung was sure would kill him. He looked fine as hell and looked more like himself. Even though he'd seen the bunny naked, it was always the imagination that made things more attractive. Though, Jungkook wasn't leaving very much to his mind to make up.
“Hmm. Spin for me.” It was evil and indulgent, but he had to say it.
Jungkook did so, slowly spinning around. There was a hole in his jeans for his tail to pop out since he got them in the hybrid section. Taehyung's hands twitched when they saw it settled above that sweet ass that was accentuated by his jeans.
“Yeah, it's good.” Taehyung commented trying to keep his expression neutral.
“Really? I'll keep it in mind then.” The bunny stepped back into the dressing room, leaving Taehyung to melt into the chair. Maybe he should've gotten Jungkook a cardboard box, or a thick sheet to wear. Was anyone else seeing this?
Sure, other hybrids were cute and maybe even attractive. Jimin and Yoongi were pretty. But, something about Jungkook was driving him crazy.
The bunny showed him a few other outfits, all equally as hot. Jean jacket with nothing under it, tight skinny jeans, a black turtleneck with dress pants, sheer white button up and some shorts. It was all pretty stylish. He had good taste and knew how to dress for his body. Which was bad for Taehyung’s heart. He was happy the bunny found what he liked.
Taehyung paid for all the clothes. It wasn't a big deal, he had a good amount of savings for occasions like this.
Bags in hand, they went to the Hybrid essentials store next. The bag of stuff Namjoon and Hoseok gave him when they gifted him to Jungkook was fine when they didn't know what to expect, but now it was pretty much useless. He didn't need bunny training supplies or a leash.
“Taehyung, can you stand outside for this one?” Jungkook asked when they arrived. Taehyung raised an eyebrow and dug out his credit card from his wallet.
“Why?” He asked apprehensively. There was no reason he could come up with in his own mind.
“Uh.. it's bunny stuff. You wouldn't get it.” He said it so cutely, Taehyung couldn't question him any further. He handed the bunny the card, then sat on a bench outside waiting.
He trusted Jungkook not to spend a million dollars. But, he didn't understand what sort of bunny thing he could be getting that Taehyung wouldn't understand.
He'd heard about those bunny chew toys so that they didn't bite your furniture. Maybe a toy ?? But, Jungkook somehow didn't seem like the type of bunny to be into that.
About ten minutes later, the bunny came back with a brown paper bag in his hand. He gave Taehyung his card back with a receipt. The bunny must've scribbled out the contents of it because there were pen marks over the item names. Just prices. It wasn't too bad. He expected more.
“Hungry? We spent a long time in the clothing store. It's lunch time.” Taehyung said.
Jungkook nodded. “Very.”
“There's a little diner down the street. Let's head over.”
Their shopping bags were crammed into the booth with them in the diner. Jungkook ordered a large amount of food. And ate all of it. The fast metabolism thing was no joke. Jungkook ate so much, but looked so fit.
“Gonna run to the bathroom.” He said, sliding out of the seat and walking back to the restrooms.
Taehyung's curiosity got the better of him.
He leaned over the table and picked up the brown bag from the seat Jungkook was in.
When he opened it, his face turned dark red. It didn't take a genius to understand what sort of bunny stuff this was.
Bottle of lube, a dildo. Bunny heat stuff.
He set the bag back down on the seat, just in time for Jungkook to get back. He didn't make eye contact with the bunny.
“Ready to go?” Taehyung asked, collecting his bags.
“Yep!” Jungkook hopped up and grabbed his share of the bags too.
The bunny stuff reminded him of a slight oversight he'd made. Small error in planning. Taehyung wasn't ignorant to hybrids going through a heat periodically. But, he never had one before. Didn't need to plan ahead for one.
Where was Jungkook going to go during that time?? They lived in a shoebox one bedroom apartment above a café. Sure, he could give Jungkook the bedroom during that time. But it wasn't soundproof. He'd most likely hear every slight sound coming from the room. That seemed impolite. He wasn't going to rent a hotel room and leave the bunny alone.
They'd have to talk about it. Shit.
The two of them arrived at the bookstore while Taehyung had been lost in thought.
When they stepped in, Seokjin, Namjoon's hybrid hamster, was putting some books up on a shelf.
“Hey, Seokjin, is Namjoon around?” Taehyung asked.
“Yeah, he's in the back. I'll get him for you.” He said with a squishy smile before heading towards the back. Jungkook took the chance to wander around, looking at the books himself.
“Oh, Tae. Finish that book already?” Namjoon asked as he approached from the back of the store.
“No. Just getting a new one for when I do. I have a real quick, small question.” Taehyung moved a little closer to Namjoon to speak quietly.
“What's up? Everything okay?” Namjoon wasn't taking the hint, speaking at full volume.
Taehyung glanced at the bunny who was farther away, looking at a book.
“So.. what did you do for Seokjin's heat, in the beginning? Before you guys were together.”
Namjoon glanced at the bunny. “Ohhh I get it. It's no big deal Taehyung. It's a natural thing. Watch.” Taehyung looked on, mortified as Namjoon ushered the bunny over to him.
“Jungkook, what have you been doing for your heats in the past?” Namjoon asked him directly.
Jungkooks face turned tomato red, frantically looking between the two humans.
“I- huh?” He sounded so embarrassed. This was torture. Physical torture. Psychological torture.
“Like, where did you spend it, how long is yours?” Namjoon was talking about it like it was the weather. So naturally.
“Umm..” Jungkook nervously chewed on his thumb. Cute little habit. “The places I've lived before had extra rooms for me. They last a few days if I'm solo. One if I have a uh partner.”
Taehyung’s face was red now too.
“Hm. Might be a bit difficult at Taehyung’s apartment.” Namjoon pointed out. He was half thankful, half wanting to run out the door.
“I-i never thought about that.” Jungkook slowly looked up to meet Taehyung's eyes. Red cheeks, sparkly shy eyes. This bunny…
“We'll work something out. Don't worry bun.” He ruffled his hair a little.
“Anyways, I got a book for you Taehyungie.” Namjoon walked away nonchalantly. Taehyung bought the book Namjoon recommended, not paying attention to what he was saying about the book at all. He wanted to get out of there.
They didn't speak on the walk to the market. While they grocery shopped, conversation was at a minimum. Just asking about preferences for certain foods. The air between them was tense to say the least.
They took their haul back to the apartment and put away all the groceries first. Then, Taehyung made room in his closet for Jungkook’s new clothes.
Once they were done, a necessary conversation needed to happen.
“Jungkook.” The bunny was sitting on the couch, fiddling with the bottom of his shirt. He looked up at Taehyung when his name was called. He was a good bunny for that. He always listened when his name was called.
“I'll sleep in the café. During your heat.” Taehyung offered the suggestion. Surely he could make some sort of bed down there for just a few days.
The bunny slowly nodded. “I promise. I'll let you know when it's here. I'm sorry..”
“For what? It's a natural thing. It's okay. I never thought I'd have another person living here, I never had a need for another bedroom until now. Don't apologize for taking up room or doing something natural.”
Jungkook stared at him for a few seconds before nodding. “Thank you. For the clothes, the food, the consideration.” He smiled, little bunny teeth barely poking out.
“Of course. Thank you for letting me take care of you.” He walked over and patted his hair. “Now, go take a bath. I don't allow stinky bunnies in my apartment. “ He joked. Jungkook rolled his eyes, but he was still smiling.
“Not gonna give me one?” Jungkook said in a teasing tone.
“Want me to?”
“N-no. Just joking around, pervert.” Jungkook grumbled before heading to the bathroom.
Taehyung watched his cute bunny butt walk away.
It was over for him. He was in too deep. There was no use in fighting what was happening in his heart. He just wanted to be considerate of Jungkook now. The bunny seemed comfortable around him, but emotionally neutral.
Taehyung hoped he liked him enough to stay, at least.
While Jungkook was in the bath, Taehyung booted up his Playstation that lived in the living room. He hadn't played any games in a while, this last day off seemed like a great opportunity.
He was sitting on the couch, getting zoned into his shooter game when Jungkook reappeared. He sat down on the couch next to Taehyung, smelling nice from his bath. That was one thing the bunny starter bag got right; the shampoo and body wash for bunny smelled like strawberries.
Taehyung was still locked into the game, but aware of the bunny’s presence beside him.
He finished a round, then glanced over at him. He looked so much more comfortable in the clothes he picked out. Gray sweatpants, some oversized shirt. It suited him way more than wearing Taehyung's clothes.
“You play games?” Jungkook asked, eyes tearing away from the screen. He was just as locked into it as Taehyung was.
“Mhm, when I get time off. Do you like video games?”
“I did when I was younger.” Jungkook slid closer to Taehyung on the couch. “The old lady bought me a new game every birthday.”
Taehyung was silent, he enjoyed unlocking this new Jungkook lore.
“She's the one who raised me from when I was a baby. Trained me, was a real owner. She passed away when I was sixteen..” He sighed. “Anyways. I have good memories of playing games on her old couch at night, she would let me stay up late as long as I woke up when she needed me.” He smiled.
“Wanna play with me?” Taehyung asked.
“Really? You'd let me?”
Taehyung laughed. “Gonna chew through the cords bunny? Of course. It's your apartment too now. You can play any time. Just don't go buying a bunch of games without asking me.”
Taehyung handed Jungkook the controller. The bunny stared at it for a minute, then naturally started flipping through the menu of games Taehyung owned.
They spent the rest of the day playing various games together, through dinner. When Taehyung left to shower, Jungkook played by himself. He might have just created a bunny with a gaming addiction, but he loved seeing his concentrated face. He seemed like he was at home here now.
This was working out better and better every day.

I hope the perspective changes are obvious >< Thanks for the comments and kudos babes <3
Chapter 5: Cafe Bunny
Summary:
Jungkook takes a trip to the cafe.
Chapter Text
Jungkook was bored. There was no easier way to put it. It had been two weeks since he started living with Taehyung. He was more thankful than he’d been saying out loud for the human. They found somewhat of a routine now. Taehyung left absurdly early in the morning to go to work. Jungkook woke up mid-day after playing games all night. Then, for dinner Taehyung came home, made their food, and went to bed to repeat the cycle all over again. He had one day off a week he would go grocery shopping, then read books all day.
Jungkook realized during this routine that Taehyung was lonely. He didn’t see his friends too often, he never went out. He hardly was on his phone. Though at first he thought the human just preferred to live like this, he noticed a few times the forlorn or depressed look on his face. Jungkook couldn’t imagine how he was before he showed up. With the bunny in the apartment he would talk sometimes, pet his head while he played games.
Because Taehyung was lonely, Jungkook was bored. Cause and effect. If Taehyung had a partner, maybe they’d go out, give him something to look forward to. Or, it would give Taehyung more hobbies.
Either way, Jungkook’s environment was not enriching him. He thought playing games all day and into the late night would keep him entertained for a while. It didn’t. He played through all of Taehyung’s story based games, and got bored of the shooter games. He didn’t want to ask the human for a new game, because he was frankly tired of games all together.
Taehyung was at work presently. He wouldn’t be back until dinner, so Jungkook was in the apartment, lounging over the couch, sighing dramatically. He tried to read some of Taehyung’s books, but he preferred movies. He tried watching tv, but he felt his brain cells being sucked out after a while. His attention span could only last so long. He needed to get out of the apartment.
While he lived with the old lady, he constantly had things to do. He was busy most of the day. Even at the mansion where he was abused, they had daily tasks. How was that more entertaining than this???
Jungkook had enough. He got up, and marched himself right out of the apartment. The bunny wanted to see the cafe, see where Taehyung worked and what he did all day when he was gone. He had a rough idea, by the way the human smelled when he came home after work.
He decided to go in through the front door. Going in through the back felt like he wasn't supposed to. He was nervous, this felt wrong. A hybrid casually walking into a cafe for no reason, without an owner. No money. Taehyung would be there, that wasn’t the issue. It was getting used to being an independent thing.
When he walked in the front door, a wave of coffee slapped him in the face. It wasn’t bad, but it was strong. He also got a good whiff of those baked goods Taehyung always smelled like.
There were a few people in here, laptops open and coffee at their tables. Probably working. It was cozy inside, soft jazz music playing.
“Hi, can I help you with anything?” Jungkook looked up to the girl behind the counter. He awkwardly approached. He felt really shy all of a sudden.
“Is Taehyung here?” He asked, pink tinting his cheeks. She had a sweet smile on her face, though Jungkook couldn’t smell very clearly, she smelled like a safe person.
“Yeah! He’s in the back, have a question for him?”
“Oh, no? Uh, maybe. I-I’m his hybrid.” Jungkook’s cheeks felt warmer saying he belonged to Taehyung. The human kept reminding him that he didn’t own the bunny, but the idea of belonging to Taehyung made his heart race.
Her eyes lit up with realization. “Oh! You’re Jungkook.” She grinned. “He’s told me so much about you, I’m his assistant. Jisoo.” She held her hand up to his nose gently, and he sniffed it. Oh yeah, that was a good person. She smelled so soft, well loved. Sweet, and like coffee, naturally.
“Do you want to come back? Taehyung’s prepping in the kitchen, he might not be able to come up right now.” She offered, petting his head a little. His tail wiggled. This Jisoo was great, he liked her a lot already.
She giggled at him, then showed him how to get to the back kitchen. The bunny slowly opened the door and looked around. Taehyung was standing over an industrial mixing bowl, throwing various ingredients inside. His back was turned away from the door, he didn’t notice the bunny creeping in. Taehyung started the mixer once the ingredients were all inside, then he pivoted towards the bunny. He jumped a little when he saw Jungkook standing there.
“You okay, bun?” He asked after his initial shock. He picked up a washcloth and wiped his hands with it.
Jungkook hummed, nodding his head a little. “Bored.” He admitted. “Super bored.”
Taehyung laughed, moving across the floor towards the bunny. He rubbed under his chin with his index finger.
“Finally burned out on games?” He asked in a playful tone.
Jungkook’s eyes fluttered shut with the touch he was getting. Taehyung was getting good at knowing the spots he liked to pet.
“Yeah, played ‘em all. Entertain me.” He whined. Taehyung chuckled.
“Sorry, not much I can help you with. Do you have a hobby maybe? Somewhere you want to go? You’re allowed to leave the apartment by yourself.” Taehyung reminded him, again.
Jungkook knew that. It felt wrong, going out by himself with nothing to do. No task to complete, no owner to help. The bunny realized how deeply this was ingrained in himself. Even instinctual. A need rather than a want to be under the care of an owner. He tried to imagine what that would be like. If he let Taehyung care for him like an owner. Taehyung giving him things to do, grooming him, picking his outfits, bathing him, taking care of him. His mouth was watering. Was he so sure he wanted to gain independence?
“I wouldn’t know where to go or what to do.” The bunny complained. “I wanna do stuff with you too,” It flew out of his mouth faster than he could process it. It embarrassed him when he realized what he said.
Taehyung hummed, his thumb lightly rubbed over his bottom lip, making the bunny’s eyes open. Taehyung’s eyes were momentarily fixed on his lips, expression unreadable.
“I know bun, I’m sorry I work so much.” He took his hand away. Jungkook wanted it back, he wanted more touches. “Want to watch me work today?”
Jungkook perked up at the suggestion. “Yeah, I’d love to.”
“Wash your paws in the sink over there,” He instructed. Jungkook did it without question. His energy levels rose knowing he’d have something new to do for the rest of the day.
Taehyung was so much more handsome in his element. Great teacher too. The way he moved methodically around the kitchen, inspecting each pastry and dough with his sharp eyes. Watching his pretty, large hands work was doing something for the bunny. He caught himself more than once ignoring everything Taehyung was saying just to stare at his hands that were twisting or working a pastry dough. Someday he’d face these feelings that were developing in his heart. Eventually.
Taehyung even let the bunny do a little work.
“Yeah, you fill them from one end with the cream.” Taehyung was explaining how to fill one of the pastries. Jungkook hadn’t paid attention to the name, because the human was standing so close to him.
Jungkook was squeezing the big bag of cream, hand a little shaky as he tried to fill it. He’d add too much to one, and not enough to another. He was getting a little frustrated he couldn’t do it perfectly on the first try. Taehyung seemed to notice this.
He moved to stand right behind the bunny, head over his shoulder. His arms were settled on Jungkook’s waist, and he held up one of the pastries.
“Here, try to hold the bag with both hands.” Taehyung said. Jungkook could hardly think straight. He felt the human pressing closer behind him, broad shoulders encasing him. Jungkook thought if he was a little braver, he’d tilt his hips back and press his ass back a little. But, he was not brave at the moment. And it seemed like Taehyung was applying enough pressure by himself.
Jungkook squeezed the bag, successfully filling his first perfect pastry.
“There you go, did so good,” Taehyung’s already deep voice dropped. Jungkook was suffocating. Surely that was a coincidence. This wasn’t really happening. There was nothing suggestive here at all.
His tail was wiggling behind him. He loved being praised like that, his tail knew it. Taehyung put the pastry in a line on a pan with the others, then put his hands on the bun’s waist.
“Tickles.” He said, a breathy laugh coming out. Jungkook was glad he couldn’t see his red face at least.
“Sorry, I can’t control it.” Jungkook mumbled. Taehyung rubbed circles with his thumbs in his waist.
“I don’t mind, It’s cute.”
Jungkook wanted to scream. Taehyung hadn’t called him cute before. He was going to explode. Only thankful his face wasn’t in view to show how this was affecting him.
“Taehyung-”
“It’s closing time, boss.” Jisoo came into the back from behind the coffee counter. She seemed unaffected by seeing the scene in front of her.
“Thanks for letting me know, you can lock the front door.” Taehyung said, also not phased by her suddenly coming back here. Jungkook was the only one startled.
She walked away, and when she did, Taehyung moved away. Jungkook was glad, and missed the feeling at the same time.
The bunny did little cleaning tasks while they closed. Avoiding Taehyung’s eyes, he tried to recover from earlier.
“Did you like it, Jungkook?” Jisoo asked when they were all finished cleaning. She was waiting for her girlfriend to pick her up.
“Better than laying around the apartment alone.” He said, a little grumbly.
“Oh? Ever thought about getting a work permit?” She asked.
“I don’t think I’d pass the test though..” If a hybrid wanted to work, legally, they needed to take a test to get a work permit. The test had three parts. A written test, a behavior test, and an interview. Jungkook knew he could pass the written part if he studied, and the behavior test. He was worried about the interview. It was posed to be similar to a job interview. To test the hybrid’s professionalism and customer service capabilities. Jungkook felt like he’d get shy or say something bluntly to the interviewer.
“Are you interested in it?” Taehyung asked. “I’d let you help out here sometimes if you got a permit. I could help you get it.”
“I am, I’m just not confident.”
“Jimin and Yoongi have theirs, we could go visit them and give you some advice.” Taehyung suggested.
Jungkook nodded. It wouldn’t hurt to try at the very least.
On Taehyung’s next day off, they headed down to Hoseok’s farm together.
The days prior, neither one mentioned the little scene in the cafe kitchen. And, nothing like it happened again. Though, Taehyung quickly caught on how much Jungkook loved praise. He used it as a lovely little weapon against him whenever he got an attitude. There was something strange and unspoken happening between them. But, if Taehyung didn’t mention it, Jungkook wasn’t going to either.
Hoseok’s farm reminded him of where he grew up. It was right on the outskirts of town. It wasn’t a huge industrial farm, but it was a good sized one. He felt at home in this environment.
They got to the front door of the little farmhouse together, Yoongi is the one who answered the door. He scratched the back of his head tiredly. He seemed to always be sleepy like this.
“Hoseok said you’d be coming,” He moved aside to let them come in.
Hoseok and Jimin were on the couch, the cat hybrid in his lap. When Jimin’s eyes locked onto Jungkook he hopped up and sprinted towards him.
“Bunny!” He tackled Jungkook to the floor. The bunny groaned when he hit the floor with the cat on top of him. Jimin must’ve been like this all the time. He thought last time it was because the kitty was in heat but he was just that excitable.
“Jimin,” Hoseok had a warning tone to his voice.
The cat stuck his little tongue out and poked Jungkook’s nose with it.
“What? I’m just saying hello.” He mumbled.
“You’re supposed to be helping him for his permit test, not playing with him.”
Jimin sighed and got up, off the bunny. “Yeah yeah.”
Jungkook laid there for a few seconds before he got up.
“Thank you for letting us come over, I think Jungkook could do it, but he needs a boost of confidence.” Taehyung said.
“No problem. I was more worried about these two getting their permits than I would be about Jungkook to be honest.” Hoseok said. He stood up. “Alright, Taehyung and I will be in the barn.” They dismissed themselves, leaving the hybrids alone.
Jungkook took a seat on the couch, Jimin sat down next to him. Shoulder to shoulder next to him. Jungkook was a little annoyed, but he didn’t say anything he was here to learn.
“Hobi said you’re afraid of the interview?” Yoongi asked, sitting on a big recliner across the room.
“Ah, yeah. I can get the written test and I have no issues with behavior like some hybrids do. I worry I’ll get too shy or annoyed.” He explained.
“Hmm.” Yoongi seemed to be taking over their little meeting. It suited him, he was so quiet but when he spoke you felt like you had to pay attention. “You crack under pressure?”
“I freeze. My instincts tell me to run away, but since I can’t I’ll freeze.”
“Well, the interview isn’t too bad. There’s pressure to pass, but you can retake it as many times as you want.”
Jungkook nodded. That took a huge weight off his shoulders already.
Jimin pressed his nose to the side of Jungkook’s head. Clearly bored and wanting to play. Jungkook tried to ignore him.
“You passed on the first try?” Jungkook asked.
“I did, Jimin didn’t. But, that’s pretty clear.”
Jungkook felt a little better, Yoongi seemed to have a level head about him, despite his sleepy tendencies. Maybe he could do this after all.
Jimin reached up and grabbed one of his ears, making Jungkook yelp. He slapped Jimin’s hand away.
“That hurt!” He shoved the cat over on the couch, but Jimin thought it was funny. He was laughing.
“Jimin, what’s with you? I’ll tell Hobi you’re hurting the bunny. He warned you not to last night.”
Jimin’s smile faltered. That got through to him.
“Please don’t.” He whined.
“If you stop being weird I won’t.”
Jimin sighed. “I’ll stop.. Hobi said no kisses if I annoy the bunny.”
“Worst punishment known to us.” Yoongi reaffirmed.
Oh? Jungkook didn’t know the three of them were physically affectionate like that. He wondered..
“So, are you guys.. Here to work for Hoseok or are you together?” He asked.
“He adopted us after he moved out of his parent’s place. He wanted help to start his farm, but we naturally grew together. We’re all in a relationship.” Yoongi explained.
“Hmm..” Jungkook could see how that would bring them together. He didn’t have strong feelings on hybrids and humans being together. He didn’t think he’d ever be in a situation where that would be possible, but he was now. Hot single young Taehyung, living in their tiny apartment together. Spending lots of time with each other. Taehyung’s recent habit of praising him just to get a reaction.
Taehyung as a person was so desirable to Jungkook. But, Jungkook thought he was meant to be a pet or plaything to help with his loneliness. Not a romantic thing.
“Jungkook, do you like Taehyung?” Jimin asked.
Jungkook’s cheeks heated up. “I want to.. But I don’t think he sees me that way.”
Jimin grinned. “You could do what I did.”
“Oh here we go,” Yoongi rolled his eyes.
“I kissed Hoseok, pretending to be acting on instinct to see if he’d go for it. How he’d react. Worked out for me.” Jimin advised.
Jungkook wasn’t sure he trusted Jimin, but it was a clever idea.
“Or just ask him.” Yoongi threw his two cents in. It was the mature, right thing to do. Jungkook wasn’t sure he was on that level.
Jungkook still needed to talk about the whole owning thing with Taehyung too, he wasn’t sure which issue was bigger. They almost crossed over each other. It was all feelings that he wanted to connect to reality.
“Oh! We could make Taehyung jealous and see what would happen!” Jimin got too excited suggesting that one.
“How would you even do that? You’re with me and Hoseok, dummy.” Yoongi pointed out.
“Right.” Jimin sighed and calmed himself down, thank god.
Jungkook’s ears twitched when he heard the back door swing open. The two humans walked back in.
“Need more time, Jungkook?” Taehyung asked when they walked in. The two humans were covered in sweat, and they stank. Jungkook shook his head.
“No, Yoongi gave me good advice. I feel more confident now.” He said.
“Jimin, did you behave?” Hoseok asked in a serious tone.
“I did.” Jimin grinned. “Promise. Swear it.”
“He was fine.” Yoongi said off to the side.
“Good. I know you’ll do great on the test Jungkook.” Hoseok gave him a bright smile. The bunny smiled a little back before he was out the door with his stinky human.
Jungkook was quiet on the way back to their apartment. He was thinking about Jimin’s little sneaky idea. It was taking over his whole thought life. He was obsessing over the idea of getting to kiss Taehyung with no repercussions. A freebie.
When they were back in the apartment, Taehyung went right to the bathroom to take a bath. Jungkook followed him. He wanted to play this up a little.
“Jungkook, do you need something?” He asked once they were both standing in the bathroom.
“Um… Can I take a bath with you?” He asked, playing with the bottom of his shirt nervously. He needed a little bit of courage to carry him through this.
“Yeah, I don’t mind. Are you okay?” Taehyung pulled his shirt off.
“Mm.. Kitties making my instincts go nuts. Need some help.” Half-lie wasn’t that bad right?
“Oh?” Taehyung started the bath water. “I’ll have to remember that for next time. I won’t leave you alone with them.” He turned around and helped Jungkook out of his clothes, just like the second night he was with Taehyung. But, it was severely different this time. He was so shocked that Taehyung hadn’t been mad at him last time, he didn’t have time to consider being fully naked with each other.
Now, he had more than enough clarity to recognize the situation.
Taehyung got him undressed and sat in the warm bath before Taehyung stripped himself down the rest of the way. Then he got into the bath on the opposite end of the bunny. Jungkook played dumb, looking away when he climbed in. He wasn’t sure this was the best idea after all. It was already overwhelming him.
Taehyung pulled the bunny closer, then started washing him just like the first time they bathed together. He was such a good owner. He always took care of Jungkook before himself. Despite stating he wouldn’t act like he was Jungkook’s owner. The bunny loved it.
Once he was done, Taehyung took care of himself.
“Jungkook, come here.” He said when he finished cleaning himself. The bunny wasn’t sure what he wanted, but he listened anyway.
Taehyung pulled him into his lap, facing towards him.
“Feel okay?” He asked, running his fingers in Jungkook’s wet hair. This was his chance. It was set up so perfectly.
The bunny leaned his head into the touch. “Mm..” He felt dizzy, not sure he could answer honestly.
“Feel any better?” Taehyung’s voice got softer. Jungkook’s eyes flickered down to his lips. He shook his head. He felt like he wasn’t lying, his feelings told him to lean in and plant a big smack on those pretty lips. Now was the time, fate gave him this perfect chance he might never get again.
The bunny hummed in response to Taehyung’s question, head slowly moving forward towards Taehyung’s. His eyes stayed locked on his prize.
“Bunny?” Taehyung whispered it. Their faces inches away. No going back. Testing the waters.
Jungkook’s eyes shut as his lips made contact with Taehyung’s. He slotted his warm lips against Taehyung’s soft ones. The human let out air through his nose. Jungkook was gone. There was no way he could make this a simple peck on the lips. He tilted his head a little, pressing deeper to get as much as he could before Taehyung decided to pull back.
But, the human never did. Taehyung tilted his head the opposite way, finally returning the kiss. He slid a hand into the hair on the back of Jungkook’s neck. The bunny wrapped his arms around Taehyung’s neck. He couldn’t believe this was happening. Was it a mistake? Maybe Taehyung was just entertaining him.
There was no mistake about the way Taehyung pulled Jungkook closer by the back of his neck. Or how hungry his lips got as they started to feverishly move against the bunny’s. He wrapped his open arm around Jungkook’s waist, pressing their upper bodies closer together.
It also wasn’t a mistake when Taehyung swiped his tongue on Jungkook’s bottom lip. Jungkook parted his lips, mouth opening for him. Tae gladly slipped his tongue inside Jungkook’s mouth. The bunny was floating. Little gasps came up from his lungs. He couldn’t breathe, but Taehyung’s mouth tasted nice. The bunny tried flicking his tongue against Tae’s to get more of it. The human hummed lowly, right from the bottom of his chest.
Jungkook was the one to pull away, he was out of breath. A string of saliva came from their mouths and dripped down between them.
The bunny was afraid to look into Taehyung’s eyes, but he did. Taehyung was already looking at him, pupils dilated.
“I..” Jungkook got what he wanted, but now he didn’t know what to say. His ears were drooping down. Taehyung was so kindly letting him think, not saying anything at all. Jungkook didn’t know where to start. He wanted more, wanted to be greedy. But, he took his chance and got what he wanted.
“You’re.. Irresistible.” He wasn’t expecting the honesty to come out first but he’d go with it. “I don’t know what’s going on inside my heart, but I want to kiss you a lot more. And, I want you to take care of me more.”
“Oh?” Taehyung had a teasing tone to his voice. “You like me, bun?”
Jungkook huffed. This was embarrassing. “Mm, yeah.” He looked away. This was worse than running away probably. Admitting his feelings.
“Look at me,” Jungkook didn’t. He felt his cheeks on fire. “Jungkook.” His tone was firmer. The bun had to listen, he used the first name override in his brain. He’d been trained too well.
Jungkook turned his head to look into Taehyung’s eyes.
“There he is, good boy.” Taehyung cooed. Nope, nope. That was it, he couldn’t handle all that. Taehyung had this knowing grin on his face. He was doing this on purpose. Meanie.
He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Jungkook’s lips. It was no more than a peck, but it excited Jungkook just as much as the first one.
“This is new for me.” Taehyung said. “All of it. You, these feelings. I want to take care of you properly. I might mess up. But I want to try. I like you.”
Jungkook nodded. He was so good already..
“Take it slow?” He asked. Jungkook nodded more. They were both on even ground when it came to these feelings. They’d be learning together.
“We should get out, the water's getting cold.” Taehyung said. Jungkook covered his eyes with his hands.
“Close your eyes.”
Taehyung laughed. “We’re naked already bun, I just washed your everything.”
“It’s different now!” Jungkook complained. When he removed his hands from Taehyung’s face. He was closing his eyes despite his teasing.
Jungkook got out and wrapped a towel around himself. He left the bathroom to get to the bedroom. He slipped on an oversized shirt, pulling his tail through the hole in the back.
Taehyung came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, sliding on some pajamas.
Jungkook felt strange as they ate dinner. He was relaxed, knowing his feelings were reciprocated. But, now what?
When you reach the place you want to go, feel the highest height, what then?
“Jungkook,” Taehyung had finished cleaning up after their meal. Jungkook was already on the couch, getting ready to go to bed. He looked up at the human.
“Come on. Come to bed with me.” He waved his hand to get the bunny to follow him. The bunny tilted his head. He stood up despite his confusion, following Taehyung to the bedroom.
Taehyung got him to get under the blankets, then took his spot on the bed beside the bunny.
“Why?” Jungkook asked. He was lying in bed, so confused.
“You wanted me to take care of you more. I am.”
“Oh.” Jungkook’s face heated up. Taehyung was a natural at it. Taking charge.
Taehyung shut off the bedside lamp.
Jungkook admitted, his bed was so much more comfortable than the couch.
He fell asleep faster, and slept better.
It wasn’t just the bed. Taehyung’s warmth, his presence soothed him.
Maybe this time, he’d found a human who could take care of him.
Maybe even take care of his heart.
Chapter 6: Permits
Summary:
Jungkook takes the Hybrid Work Permit test. Taehyung has realizations
Chapter Text
Taehyung was waiting in the lobby of the Hybrid Permit Office. He was nervous, though he wasn’t the one being tested. Jungkook was going through his work permit test now. Taehyung helped him study for the written test over the past few days. Jungkook had this in the bag.
They discussed what would happen if he got the permit over the past week. Jungkook wanted to work in the cafe a few days a week. Taehyung offered to pay him, but the bunny didn’t want it. He was surprised.
The bunny was full of surprises. It was like his birthday constantly.
The kiss they shared a week ago was one of those surprises. Taehyung’s feelings for him had been growing prior to that, and he only had a small suspicion the bunny felt the same way. Jungkook made him feel alive. The bunny was something to look forward to every day. Always on his mind. He was so sweet. Taehyung was filled with pride when he was able to take care of him. Now that Jungkook let him, and wanted him, everything was easy.
Though, the romance part was difficult. After the kiss, not much else had happened in that department. They cuddled, and Taehyung loved petting his bunny. He quickly realized how inexperienced he was in romantic situations. He dated a girl when he was in college for a month. She broke up with him because he never took her out. Then after he graduated, he dated a guy who used to work in town. Broke up because he said Taehyung was boring. Was he? He wondered if he’d be able to do this with Jungkook. Because, clearly, the bunny was also not experienced with dating.
The test was taking longer than Taehyung expected. They arrived in the afternoon, it was evening now and time for the Permit Office to close.
Jungkook came through a door from the back where the test was being held finally. He had a folder in his hand, a neutral expression on his face. Taehyung couldn’t tell what that meant. He stood up from his chair.
“So??” He asked expectantly. Jungkook pulled his sleeve towards the door.
“Let’s get out of here.” He said, mumbling it a little. Taehyung followed him out. He was so unreadable right now.
“Jungkook, did you pass?” He asked, putting a hand on his bicep. Jungkook stopped walking and a smile curled up on his lips. He shyly looked down at his feet.
“Yeah, I did.”
Taehyung gasped in delight, lifting Jungkook off the ground from under his armpits. He twirled the bunny around, then sat him back on the sidewalk.
“That’s amazing bun! I’m so proud of you. Knew you could do it.” Taehyung praised. Jungkook’s cheeks were pink, a grin plastered on his face. He looked like he was trying to keep cool about it.
“It was pretty easy.” Jungkook said.
“We should celebrate.” Taehyung hooked an arm around Jungkook’s neck while they slowly started walking again.
“I just want dinner, I’m so hungry,” Jungkook patted his tummy to reiterate his point.
“Oh, we could go to Jackson’s.” Taehyung said. It was closeby, they could walk down to it. “Got great burgers there.” It was early enough that it shouldn’t be too busy either.
Though, being the only bar in town it was bound to be a little crowded. There were already a fair amount of people in the bar, watching the various screens playing sports. Most people were sitting at the bar itself, but since they came to eat, Taehyung and Jungkook got a booth next to a window.
“Get anything you want, we’re celebrating.” Taehyung said as he watched Jungkook look over the menu. The bunny nodded.
When the waitress came by, Jungkook ordered a generous amount of food, and surprisingly a beer.
“You like that stuff?” Taehyung asked once the waitress walked away.
“Mm, I drank a bunch of beers my third owners had lying around when they weren’t home to annoy them. I liked it a lot.”
Taehyung laughed. “Yeah? What else did you do to annoy those other owners?”
“The last straw for those owners was I peed on a pile of clean clothes.”
“Jungkook!” Taehyung’s mouth dropped open. “What???”
“They thought I was one of those untrained hybrids. Got away with it, they just couldn’t handle it. Didn’t want to train me.” He shrugged.
“That’s pretty severe though.”
“I severely didn’t want to be owned.”
Taehyung hummed. “Why not?” He’d been avoiding the topic for a while, but it seemed like a good chance to ask.
Jungkook pursed his lips, then looked out the window. “Had a bad one.” He let out a long breath. “Saw the worst of humans. Didn’t want to be owned by one anymore.”
Taehyung watched Jungkook’s face as he seemingly remembered something bad a human did to him. Taehyung guessed as much, but he still wondered how bad it was. Maybe it was better he didn’t know, he felt like he’d get angry hearing about it.
“And now?” Taehyung asked when their food was placed in front of them.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. “Guess you’re not so bad.”
Taehyung smiled. He hoped he’d always be good for Jungkook.
The bunny cleared away all his food like it was nothing, drank one too many beers, and had room for ice cream on the way home. Taehyung picked up a pint of vanilla ice cream from the corner store.
He got two spoons out when they got home, and popped it open. They were standing at the kitchen island, spoons in hand, ready to devour.
Jungkook’s tipsy half-lidded eyes followed Taehyung’s spoon down to the ice cream. It gave him an idea.
Taehyung got a nice sized scoop, then lifted it towards Jungkook’s lips.
“First bite?” He asked, with a grin on his face.
Jungkook leaned forward and took it, humming in a pleased way when the ice cream hit his tongue. Taehyung pulled the spoon out then got another one. Jungkook smacked his lips loudly.
“Another one,” He said, opening his mouth already, pink tongue sticking out a little. Taehyung thought that was a nice image to save for later.
Taehyung lifted the next spoon to his mouth, when Jungkook grabbed his wrist. He held Taehyung’s hand steady. Taehyung didn’t like the way this was going.
The bunny locked eyes with him, that little tongue unnecessarily licking underneath the spoon before the rest of his mouth clamped down onto it. Taehyung stopped breathing. He could see the bunny’s tongue swirling around it in his mouth. He sucked on it as he drew it out of his mouth, then licked his lips. A smug grin slowly formed on his face. What was that about??
“Jungkook..” Taehyung mumbled. “What are-”
“More, want more.” He begged playfully. This was a bad idea. But, he dug out another scoop anyway.
Jungkook took this one in his mouth, pushing the spoon a little further into his mouth for no reason. Taehyung’s mouth parted slightly watching him. He wasn’t sure how much of this he could take. His pants were already getting uncomfortable.
When Jungkook popped his lips off the spoon this time, some of the melted cream from his mouth dribbled out. Taehyung didn’t think about it when he brought his hand up and swiped with his thumb to get it away. Jungkook caught his wrist again, and wrapped his lips around Taehyung’s thumb. The bunny sucked and swirled his tongue around his finger, making Taehyung hiss.
Then the bunny closed his eyes and moaned .
Taehyung knew this wasn’t going to end well. Jungkook wasn’t in his right mind fully. He pulled his thumb away, making Jungkook frown.
“Okay bun, you’ve had your fun.” Taehyung lidded the ice cream and carried it to the freezer. Jungkook huffed behind him.
“Wasn’t doin’ nothing.” He whined. “Good ice cream.”
“Yeah?”
“What’s so wrong with that?”
“It wasn’t the ice cream bun. Don’t play dumb.”
“You’re so hot,” He breathed out, leaning over the island.
“So are you, but you’re also drunk. Let’s get you to bed.” Taehyung moved around to the bunny who sighed loudly, dramatically.
“Noo, I want you, not the bed.”
Taehyung stopped when he was right beside the bunny.
“Oh yeah? How do you want me?” He figured the bunny would get embarrassed and stop.
“You.. I thought I made it clear.” His face contorted into confusion. “Want to suck you off.”
Taehyung choked on his own saliva, keeling over and coughing roughly. Wasn’t expecting how direct he was.
“Jungkook,” He said when he collected himself. “You’re not in your right mind, not fully. We need to talk about those things. We haven’t even kissed in a week.”
Jungkook’s lower lip puckered out in a pout. “You haven’t kissed me, I was waiting.” He was whiny. Taehyung sighed and pulled Jungkook towards the bedroom.
“This goes both ways, bun. You haven’t made any moves to me either.”
“You’re always at work.. Or reading your books.. No flirting or romancing..”
Taehyung got him to sit down on the bed, he removed Jungkook’s shoes and socks first.
“Jungkook, we can talk about this tomorrow.” He said it calmly, but he took Jungkook’s words to heart. It was exactly the kinds of things his exes said to him when they broke up. It hurt to think he hadn’t changed at all. He wanted this, he wanted a partner. But had no skills to keep one.
“Mmph.” Jungkook grunted as Taehyung got his clothes off. He left the bun’s underwear on.
“Don’t worry about work tomorrow. You just got your permit anyway.” Taehyung got the bunny tucked in. Jungkook had a pouty look on his face as he laid on his side. Taehyung left him so that he could shower.
It was a cold, long shower. So long, that Jungkook was asleep when he returned.
Taehyung climbed into bed with a heavy heart. They really needed to talk about this, soon.
Taehyung hated to leave Jungkook alone the next morning. He wanted to take care of him through his hangover, and talk it out. It was the first time in a while Taehyung questioned if working was what he wanted to do today. He loved his job. He seldom found himself not wanting to open the store.
But, He had regulars who would certainly be upset if he didn't open the store without warning, for no good reason. Just the fact that he wanted to spend time with his bunny.
He found himself in the café, opening with a heavy mind. He was glad to get time to think about what he wanted to say, at least. Because he wanted to give Jungkook everything. His actions clearly said otherwise.
They were open for a few hours when the backdoor swung open. Jungkook came shuffling in, sleepy eyes and messy hair.
“Need me?” Taehyung asked. He was taking inventory in the back when the bunny came in.
“No. ‘M here for work.” He said in a grumble.
“I told you not to come in today, it's okay.”
“I know what you said. I remember last night. I want to work.” His tone was cold. He sounded upset, which was not a good way to start his first day of work.
“Well.. I didn't plan for you to be here.” He admitted. “But, if you want you can go up front and watch Jisoo.”
Jungkook nodded and shuffled up to the front end. Was this a bad idea? He was already mixing romance and owning Jungkook as a hybrid. Now they would be working together.
Dread washed over Taehyung. This wasn't going to end well. No matter how he looked at it, this was messy. Irresponsible. He hadn't been thinking ahead. Just acting on impulse this whole time with the bunny. Even agreeing to take him was impulsive. He didn't have room in his apartment for him. He let himself develop a crush on him. It was easy too. Jungkook was beautiful. Smart, highly independent but still wanting to be taken care of. He was a little nerdy, bratty too. Taehyung loved it.
But now, he let it get to the point where he always failed. Bad at romance, enjoying being a shut-in. He was comfortable in his life like that. His flesh and his heart collided. As a man wanting a partner. Then once he got what he wanted, was too set in his ways to change.
He realized over the past week, he was the problem. He was back in his old ways.
Fuck he wanted to make it up to Jungkook, apologize. But they were at work now. Maybe this was punishment from the universe for his actions. Jungkook was clearly upset, and he couldn't do anything about it until later. A whole day with a moody bunny.
Jisoo was quick to notice it. At some point during the day, she left Jungkook at the front of the house to clean something while it was slow to come back to talk to Taehyung.
“Boss, is everything going okay with you two?” She was sitting on a step stool, like she expected to be there for a bit.
Taehyung sighed. “No, it's my fault.” He was quick to make sure he took the blame. “I suck at relationships. I've never done this before, the hybrid thing either. I'm a genius and thought I could mix all of that mess with work too.”
“Yeah?” Jisoo encouraged him to keep spilling.
“Yeah. I like my solitude too much. I'm like an old man, Jisoo. Stuck in his ways. I want to be with him, but I can't find the balance. What if the café fails because I'm lacking? What if I can't provide for him? Or maybe he decides he doesn't want to be mine anymore. And I think all of those things are exclusive to each other. I got greedy. I messed up.” Taehyung realized he was spiraling. He was word vomiting to his sweet assistant.
“Did you talk about any of this before you decided to confess to him? To get all physical?”
He sighed. “Not really. I was acting on impulse. He's so pretty. When I first saw him I wanted to protect him, to take care of him. But, as an owner. When I found out he didn't want to be owned, I felt it gave me permission to want him romantically. Even though legally he's my hybrid.. ugh. Now he wants me to take care of him so I started treating him like a pet again.. it's like I'm trying to fix him. I know something bad must've happened to him.. I wanted to be his savior.”
“But.. What do you want?”
“To make him happy.”
“No, I want to know if you want him to be your pet or your partner.”
“I want what he wants.”
“That’s your problem.” Jisoo sat up and pointed at him to emphasize. “Relationships go both ways. You have wants and needs, so does he. When they match up, it can be a great thing. But, you aren't being honest with what you want.” Leave it to her to drop some wisdom like that out of nowhere.
She smiled at him, then stood up. “I'm going to conveniently go home now. So, talk to him.” She grabbed her purse from the shelf it was sitting on.
“You'd leave me here like that? How mean.” He joked.
“It's a slow day. Plus, closing time in a couple hours. And I know you finished your tasks a while ago. You've been back here twiddling your thumbs.”
“Wow, sorry boss.” He laughed at her. “Thank you, for everything Jisoo.”
She pulled on her coat, then left with nothing more than a rosy grin on her face.
Once the back door was closed after she left, Taehyung pulled himself together. This was going to be fine.
He casually walked back to where Jungkook was leaning over the counter. There was no one else in the café. It would've been a nice atmosphere if Taehyung didn't feel like he was about to have a complicated talk.
“Like it so far?” He asked as he approached the bunny. Jungkook didn't look at him.
“Better than being cooped up in the apartment all day.” His voice was cold. He was good at holding onto things wasn't he?
“I'm sorry my life isn't more entertaining for you.” Taehyung didn't mean for it to sound so passive aggressive. That's definitely how it came across.
“You- Did you come up here just to argue?” Jungkook rolled his head to the side to look up at Taehyung, such cold eyes.
“No, it was supposed to be a genuine apology. I'm not an exciting person. I work a lot. I know that's hard for you. You deserve more.”
The bunny huffed. “How do you know what I deserve? Why beat yourself up? Shit apology.”
Taehyung slapped a hand over his face because he was doing worse at this than he thought. How was it so easy to talk to Jisoo and not him directly?
“I think we should start over this conversation. I didn't mean to sound like an asshole.” Taehyung said, hand rubbing over his face.
“What did you mean?”
“I wanted to tell you I'm sorry for not knowing what I want. When I first saw you I wanted you as a pet. Just a fun little thing I could have around my lonely apartment. Then, you told me you didn't want to be a pet - to be owned. So, I decided I wanted only what you wanted. Because no matter what I wanted to take care of you. I got confused. It shows.”
Jungkook searched all over his face, his gaze was still cold and distant.
“So, you want me as a pet?” Jungkook asked. He sounded upset.
“No. I don't. I thought you wanted to be treated that way.”
“I never said that. I told you I wanted you to take care of me. Because I legally can't do it myself.”
Ah. Taehyung assumed way too much here. Fuck.
“I'm sorry, I didn't have the mind to even ask what you meant.”
Jungkook sighed. “What do you want with me, then?”
“To be romantic. I understand it's a tough situation to put you in. You can't really leave me if I want you to stay in terms of legality. It's not going to be easy, we really need to figure out the apartment situation. I think having your own space would help-”
Jungkook grabbed Taehyung by the front of his shirt and pulled him into a kiss, cutting him off from ranting. Taehyung forgot what he was saying as soon as those pretty cherry lips were pressed to him. He returned the kiss, lips pressing softly against the bunny’s to match him. His hands found their favorite spot on Jungkook’s waist, pulling him closer. He tasted like coffee.
Jungkook pulled away first. He held Taehyung’s face with both of his hands.
“Promise me you'll ask? Please don't assume anything about me.” He squeezed his cheeks a little. “Just talk to me.”
Taehyung smiled. He could do that. “Where'd you learn to kiss?” He asked.
Jungkook’s cheeks flushed red. He released Taehyung’s face to push his chest back. Taehyung held onto him, not letting him go.
“Why do you need to know??” Jungkook was trying to escape his hold, though not very seriously.
“Heard hybrids aren't as experienced with that kind of thing.” He shrugged. Hoseok told him that day he was helping him move bales of hay in the barn while their hybrids talked in the house. He said Jimin and Yoongi knew nearly nothing, most of it was instinct. But they learned together.
“I - I know you're being flirty but the story is serious to me.”
“Oh?” Taehyung pressed the bunny to the front counter. Settling in for a story. New Jungkook lore.
“After my first owner I was taken by an illegal bunny ring. They were training most of us to be sex workers for the rich. I guess I'm thankful they made us practice with other bunnies and not humans, but it was still shit. Most of the time I refused, and got beat a lot because of it. But, sometimes the others would convince me to ‘train’ with them because they were looking out for me. In a way that made the kissing more genuine between us. Even the sex, became comforting. Because for those moments there weren't any humans visibly around to abuse us.”
Everything started making sense. Taehyung wouldn't have liked humans either if that happened to him.
“I'm sorry that happened to you..” Taehyung said.
Jungkook smiled a little. “I think I would've been worse off if they sold me to some stinky old rich pervert.”
The bunny circled his arms around Taehyung's neck. “Glad you weren't.” Taehyung rubbed his nose against Jungkook’s.
“He would've let me suck him off if I asked him to, unlike some people.” Jungkook teased. Taehyung’s cheeks burned.
“We need to talk about that, too.” He mumbled.
“What about it?” The bunny tilted his head in a confused way.
“Do you want to wait a while? I think we should go on some dates, like a normal couple would.”
Jungkook hummed. “If you think so,” He pressed another small kiss to Taehyung's lips. “It's closing time.” He pointed out.
Taehyung glanced at the clock on the wall. Time flew when he was with the bunny.
He was relieved after they talked about it. He wouldn't let it get like that ever again if he could help it. He was going to put all his effort into this now.
Because Jungkook was worth it.
Chapter 7: Bunny Time
Summary:
Jungkook gets visited unexpectedly.
Chapter Text
Things were peachy after their talk in the cafe a week ago now. Besides the obvious deeper understanding of each other they gained, effort was being put forward by both parties during their daily lives. Jungkook started enjoying his time in the cafe. Partly for the fact he got to be around Taehyung more during the day. And part because he enjoyed the atmosphere. Taking his time making coffee for customers, getting compliments, hanging out with Jisoo during their slow times.
They hadn’t been able to go on a date yet, though it didn’t bother Jungkook as much as he thought. Taehyung was being more intentional with their time together. They made dinner together after they got off work, played a game together or watched a movie before bed.
It was going well, but Jungkook was feeling off the past couple days. Taehyung found him staring off into space more than usual. He craved physical affection from the human way more too. Without thinking about it, he had more energy than usual too.
It was one evening after work when he realized what was happening.
Taehyung was watching something boring on the tv, and Jungkook was sitting on the floor between his legs because he wanted the human to pet his head. Taehyung was running his hands through his hair. It made him dizzy. The bunny shifted so that he could lay his cheek on the human’s thigh, facing towards the human. He was talking about something. Jungkook was sure of it. But, his brain was fuzzy and warm.
Taehyung’s crotch was right in front of his face, he moved forward and nuzzled his face against it. His instincts were telling him there was something delicious and desirable in there. His mouth watered. He couldn’t help himself.. It smelled so nice right there-
“Jungkook.” He was snapped out of his daze, looking up at the human with glossy eyes. He’d stopped being pet a while ago, but didn’t realize it.
“Huh?” He breathed. “What were you saying?” He blinked slowly.
“What are you doing?” Taehyung’s voice was neutral.
“I..” Jungkook lifted his head to assess the situation at hand. Looking from where he’d just had his face buried in Taehyung’s clothed crotch, then back up at his face.
Oh.
His cheeks were red with embarrassment. “I think my heat is coming.” He swallowed the spit that had accumulated in his mouth.
Taehyung’s expression changed from a blank one to a surprised one.
“Oh.” He cleared his voice. “It’s coming?”
“Mm..” Jungkook chewed his bottom lip. “Probably tomorrow it’ll be in full swing.”
“Right, of course. Yeah.” Taehyung seemed to be thrown off by it. “Should I leave tonight, then? Get you anything before it starts? Do I need to check on you?” A million questions came up at once. They should’ve talked a little more about this one ahead of time, but Jungkook had no sense of when it would hit. Now was the time.
“I’ll be fine here by myself. My instincts kick in and keep me going for it. To be safe I think you should leave tonight..” He trailed off, eyes going back to the spot between Taehyung’s legs. He sighed looking there, licking over his lips. It was hitting him faster than normal. Maybe because he had someone he actually wanted to spend it with now. He wouldn’t have minded Taehyung taking care of him during it. But, the human set boundaries for them. No sex until they had gone on more dates.
Though, his fuzzy brain was thinking about the glances he’d gotten at Taehyung’s naked body. He was so healthy looking, like he could keep up with him for hours. Not to mention the big cock between his legs that Jungkook pretended he hadn’t seen.
“Kook.” Taehyung pulled him out of his daze once again. “I’ll be in the cafe. Please, come get me if you need me.” The human moved to get up, Jungkook wanted to whine when he lost physical contact. He also wanted to stop him and beg him to stay, but his last shred of sanity prevented him from doing it.
He watched his beautiful, handsome, sexy human gather some things up. Those big pretty hands carry his essential items to the kitchen to put into a bag. His long fingers adjusting the strap on his bag- Jungkook’s eyes were stuck on him, nearly drooling.
Before Taehyung left, he gave Jungkook a pat on the head and a kiss on the forehead, like he was afraid to do anything more. He was right to be afraid. If Taehyung kissed him on the lips, Jungkook wouldn’t have let him leave.
He was gone with the front door shutting and being locked behind him. The bunny let himself whine now that he was gone. This was going to suck.
He got himself up and went to the bedroom to prepare a little. He got out the lube and sex toy he bought a while ago for this purpose. He’d hidden it in a corner of Taehyung’s closet that was relatively untouched.
The bunny laid down extra blankets on the bed so he didn’t ruin the human’s mattress. Because he was alone this time, it would be a few days before he was done. So, he took the longest shower possible. He likely wouldn’t wash at all until he was done.
Everything was laid out. He shed all his clothes before climbing into the bed. They would be pointless in the morning. His skin was already feverishly warm when he fell asleep.
As he drifted off into a sweet dream, he wondered if he should’ve asked Taehyung to stay. Would he have? He wasn’t going to die if he didn’t have a partner in this, but it made things a lot easier and ended a lot faster.
But it was too late.
Taehyung
When Taehyung woke up the next morning, his back was killing him. He woke up laid across the bench seating in his cafe. It was cold, and as of recently, lonely. He had gotten used to waking up next to the bunny, waking up alone was strange.
It didn’t take long for him to remember why he was there, and not in his warm bed. Jungkook’s heat.
The elusive event most hybrids went through at some point, in some way. There were online conspiracies that the reason hybrids were created was for that reason. Something about the government and sex workers. Taehyung didn’t pay attention. His history books said hybrids were created to help- sex was one way. But not the only one.
Jungkook certainly helped him in more ways than one. He was great around the cafe, and since their talk a week ago he was a great companion. He let Taehyung talk about anything, and he’d go along with it. He was playful, sassy, and loved physical affection.
Taehyung wondered as he got himself ready to work if he should’ve offered to help Jungkook. It wasn’t that he didn’t want the bunny in that way, he wanted to take things slow. Wanted to treat this like he would any other relationship. It was getting easier every day, until last night when he was reminded that Jungkook was fundamentally different. He had different needs.
He was staring at the ceiling, wondering if the bunny was awake, if he was okay when Jisoo walked in. She noticed right away that something was off. So perceptive.
“Jungkook’s taking the day off?” She asked, shedding her coat once she was inside. He sighed.
“Days. He’s in heat.”
Jisoo put her stuff down on the little shelf right beside the door. She looked surprised.
“You’re not helping him? He’s alone?” It felt like a stab to the chest. He wanted to be up there with him.
“We’re waiting, wanna take things slow.” He explained. She raised an eyebrow at him.
“You talked about it?” She was suspicious of him, rightfully so after the last time they had a misunderstanding.
“Yeah, we were going to go on a few dates first. Anyways, he said he would be okay.” Taehyung didn’t want to linger on the subject, linger on thinking about what his bunny would be up to the next few days.
That proved to be hard during work, because they were right below where he was. They couldn’t hear anything, thankfully. But the ceiling reminded him that’s where Jungkook was, probably using that toy he got himself when they went shopping. He would be on the bed, making those little sounds he made when their kissing got a little too heavy.
Taehyung was only a man. Not impervious to temptation.
But, Jungkook said he’d come down if he needed help. He would ask. Right? Taehyung was questioning everything as the day was coming to an end. Jisoo looked worried about him.
“You could go up there and check on him? Make sure he’s okay alone?” She suggested. Taehyung sucked on his bottom lip nervously.
“But if he’s not in his right mind and asks me to do something?”
“He’s not a zombie, he’s capable of some things.”
“Yeah, but hybrids in heat aren’t allowed to sign any legal papers or get adopted.”
“I think you’re over thinking.”
“I am.” He admitted, taking a deep breath. “I’ll text you if I need to close the cafe.”
When Jisoo was gone, Taehyung had his makeshift bed set up, just staring at the ceiling in the dead silent cafe. He had his phone for entertainment. But, now that it was quieter in the cafe he could hear creaking coming from above him. Sometimes shuffling. And he swore once he heard a loud whine. Would he be able to sleep tonight hearing that?
Taehyung was up after the sun had set, walking up the steps to his apartment with his phone and the keys to the apartment. He stood outside the door, staring at it for a few minutes.
Just check on him, and get out. That’s all.
He slowly unlocked the door and pushed it open. It was dark, except for one lamp in the living room. And, it was quiet. Taehyung shut the door behind him as softly as he could. Maybe Jungkook was sleeping.
He was about to enter the bedroom when he heard a succession of small moans and whimpers coming from inside. His throat went dry. His bunny’s voice, the implications.
He knew what the bunny was probably doing right now, and he had a fair choice. Go in, check real quick, or leave because he didn’t want to embarrass either one of them.
His hand laid on the door handle, unmoving. He couldn’t properly sort out the pros and cons here. Especially when he heard a particularly sad sounding whine coming from in the room.
He slowly turned the handle, knocking when the door cracked open.
“Jungkook, you okay?” He asked, trying to keep a level tone of voice. When he didn’t get a response right away, he swung the door open further, bracing himself for any sort of scene he was about to witness.
The bedside lamp was on, illuminating the room with warm light. There were sheets and blankets strewn all over the floor. Up on the king sized bed, was his bunny. Jungkook was naked, laying flat on his back. There was a layer of sweat on him, his hair an unfixable mess. Eyes glossy and dazed, his chest and his cheeks were flushed red. He was breathing heavily. Taehyung couldn't help his eyes traveling down his taut body to his little red cock leaking over his tummy, or the dildo shoved inside him.
He swallowed to give his throat some moisture. The bunny stared at him for a few seconds, probably trying to register what was happening.
“Taehyung,” He breathed out, his eyebrows knitting together.
All the words Taehyung could have said, or wanted to say left his brain. Against his better judgment, he stepped into the room, kicking the discarded blankets to the side as he approached the bed.
“I came to c-check on you bun.” He felt so lame stuttering, he wasn’t a virgin. This whole picture of the bunny in front of him was erotic, he couldn’t help it.
Jungkook’s eyes landed on his crotch once he was standing right beside the bed. The bunny shifted to lay on his side, then pushed himself to sit up.
“I told you I was fine,” He sighed and pulled Taehyung in closer with his waistband. “You’re here to help.” He stated like he knew it was a fact.
Taehyung wanted to, especially now after seeing him in this state.
“We talked about it-”
“Do you want to help?” Jungkook seemed to be exercising a large amount of self control. His voice was ragged, and he wasn’t even looking at the human. His eyes were on the prize.
“Do you want help?” Taehyung answered his question with another question. Jungkook huffed.
“Of course I do, I’m asking you if you want to help me.”
Taehyung pushed his fingers through Jungkook’s messy hair, petting him but also trying to calm his messy locks. It stayed pushed back because there was a layer of sweat in his hair. The bunny closed his eyes and leaned into the touch. Jungkook was different from his other relationships. He knew he shouldn’t treat him exactly the same. He needed to be flexible. So what if they hadn’t gone on their dates yet? They both wanted this.
“What can I do? I’ll stay. I’ll help.” He stated.
Jungkook’s muscles relaxed when he heard that Taehyung was staying. He'd have to ask later what this felt like for him. He didn't look like he was in pain per-say but he looked tired, frustrated even.
The bunny adjusted himself on the bed so that he was sitting on his knees. He buried his face into Taehyung's crotch, Taking deep breaths, and sighing with satisfaction. Taehyung kept petting his hair, it seemed to be helping the bunny relax.
Jungkook found where Taehyung's cock was settled in his pants, pressing his lips against it through his clothes. Taehyung shucked his shirt off. He pulled Jungkook’s head back with the back of his hair. The bunny whined until he saw Taehyung sliding his pants off. From this angle Taehyung could see his tail wiggling happily behind him. As well as the dildo that was still buried inside him. That wouldn't do at all.
Taehyung reached behind the bunny and pulled it out slowly so he didn't hurt him. Jungkook whined again, clearly not happy with the loss from inside him. Pathetic little fake dildo, Taehyung knew he was bigger.
“Shh, I'm going to take care of you now, bun.” Taehyung cupped Jungkook’s cheek, then leaned down and pressed a kiss to his irritated lips. He must've been chewing on them a lot. His lips were warm too, he was warm. Taehyung slid his tongue over his bottom lip, then into his mouth when Jungkook let him in. His mouth was hot inside. Saliva sticker than usual too. Taehyung would've been worried if he didn't know what was going on.
He pulled away with a trail of thick saliva between their lips. The bunny looked so dazed and pliant, like he'd give anything to Taehyung right now. But, this was about the bunny. Not him.
Taehyung guided the bunny back to rest his head on the pillow. His pupils were blown out, making his eyes look so much more bunny-like.
Taehyung kissed down his chest, stopping to take one of his nipples into his mouth. He'd been wanting to do that for a while now. The bunny rewarded him with a beautiful moan sliding out of his mouth. He knew they were so sensitive by the way they were always hard when he wore those tight t-shirts.
He would suck on one, then squeeze and rub the other one. Had the bunny squirming under him, trying to rut up against him. Maybe one day he'd get him to come with just touching his nipples. Today wasn't the day to tease him. He felt bad for his baby bunny.
He kissed down his strong tummy, soft ab lines, that cute belly button, then right down his navel. Taehyung looked up at the bunny when he reached his cock. His poor, red cock. It looked like it hurt. Jungkook’s thighs shook a little, fingers threading into Taehyung's hair.
“P-puhlese hyungie, touch me,” his voice was shaking like he wanted to cry. Taehyung was weak for that. He'd tease and play another time.
He kissed down his irritated cock, sucking on his balls a little before working his way back up and taking the tip into his mouth. It was warm, already so salty with precome. The bunny’s fingers trembled. Broken moan came from him when Taehyung easily took it all in his mouth and swallowed around it . He started bobbing his head and humming, happy to be satisfying him.
Jungkook was tugging on his hair, squeaky moans dribbling out of his mouth. His back arched off the bed when Taehyung would switch it up and swirl his tongue around the head.
Taehyung thought he could do this all day. Pretty boy squirming under him, breathless and wrecked already.
“C-coming-” Jungkook tried to warm him and pull Taehyung off his cock, but Taehyung took him back down all the way.
Jungkook came with an exasperated “Oh,” into Taehyung's mouth. He swallowed the hot come gladly. Jungkook looked so relieved afterwards, it filled his chest with pride. Though, he was still hard. Still needed more.
Taehyung grabbed the well used bottle of lube that had been tossed on the bed. He coated his fingers well, then brought his hand down to rub around Jungkook’s loose rim. He pressed his middle finger in first once the bunny looked relaxed. He gasped feeling the finger go deeper and deeper inside. Once his knuckle hit his rim, he kept it there until the bunny got used to it. It wouldn't be long, since he was stretched a little already.
“M-more, I can take it.” Jungkook said, hips wiggling down to try and get more friction.
Taehyung moved his finger in and out slowly. “Not gonna rush this.”
Jungkook huffed and squeezed the pillow tightly. “Been alone all day,” He whined. “S-so hard to come alone I need it,”
Taehyung hummed in response. “Just made you come baby, I don't want to hurt you,” He added a second finger, making Jungkook breathe out a moan.
“I'm stretched already,” He took slower, deep breaths like he was trying to calm himself down. “Not gunna h-hurt me.”
Taehyung slid in a third experimentally. He took it well, but fingers were different from cock.
Jungkook rocked himself down onto his fingers, his eyes were closed and his lips were parted. He looked so pretty, Tae wanted to give him exactly what he wanted.
He pulled his fingers out. Jungkook’s eyes opened when he lost the feeling of being full. Taehyung moved back and slid off his boxers, thankful his cock was free from their restriction.
Jungkook’s eyes widened when he saw it. Suddenly, he didn't look so confident. Taehyung grabbed the lube and rubbed a generous amount over his cock, stroking himself a few times as he lined up to Jungkook’s hole.
The bunny spread his legs further apart to accommodate. He chewed on his bottom lip, eyes never leaving what was happening between his legs.
“Sure you're ready, bun?” Taehyung asked with suspicion in his tone. He intended to spend way more time fingering the bunny, maybe get him to come one more time before it got to this.
Jungkook slowly nodded. He was not sure. But, he said he was. So, Taehyung dipped the tip of his cock into Jungkook’s warm, wet heat. The bunny sucked in a hard breath, eyes squeezing shut. Taehyung went inch by inch, paying attention to the way his muscles tensed, then relaxed once he'd adjusted.
Once Taehyung was fully settled inside, his hips pressed against Jungkook, he watched the bunny’s face. His squeezed shut eyes and scrunched up nose slowly relaxed. His breathing started getting steady once more. And a cute, parted lip smile curled up on his face. He blinked his eyes open and started pushing himself down onto Taehyung's cock.
Taehyung wished he had a camera. He looked so hot and fucked out. Tae reached down and held onto his hips, sliding almost all the way out, then slowly back in.
“Hah,,” Jungkook breathed out, wrapping one of his legs around Taehyung’s hip. He pulled Taehyung forward with his strong thigh to get him to move faster. The human got the hint, and with a groan he started up a steady but slow rhythm.
Taehyung wasn't sure how long he would last like this. Jungkook was so tight and warm around him, so wet. It felt incredible inside his body. Especially with the little moans Jungkook was giving him.
“H-harder,” Jungkook said, trying to push himself down to match Taehyung's thrusting.
He didn't expect that to come out of his mouth, making his hips stutter a little. He was taking his cock like a champ, like he was made for this.
Taehyung gladly obliged. He started snapping his hips forward, using some strength behind it. He also picked up his pace because he was already feeling close to coming. It had been way too long.
The bunny moaned louder, he had a satisfied look on his face. Like he was finally getting what he needed. Taehyung rolled his hips around trying to find his prostate when the bunny threw his head back.
“T-there! Taehyung! F-fuck, right fucking there,” He called out when Taehyung was successful. He pounded into the bunny at that angle while he tried to hold off his own orgasm. He wrapped his fingers around the bunny’s cock, making him sob out his moans. He saw tears stream down his temples.
“C-coming!” The bunny yelled out in no time, hips stuttering up into Taehyung’s hand. He screamed when he orgasmed, shooting come up between them. Taehyung was right behind him, as soon as Jungkook clenched around him he came deep inside the bunny with an elongated groan. He rocked his hips forward to ride them through the high. Stopping when it was done.
He slowly pulled out. The bunny sighed when he did. His body was limp and pliant, spread out on the bed. Taehyung couldn't help but to smile at him and place a soft kiss on his cheek. He was smiling, eyes shut and trying to calm his breathing down.
Taehyung got up and cleaned them both off with a warm and slightly damp hand towel from the bathroom.
Once he was done, he was back in bed with his Jungkook. He pulled a blanket on top of them before he pulled the bunny into his arms. He snuggled up closely into Taehyung's chest. Sighing happily as his human pet the top of his head.
“Okay?” Taehyung asked in a soft tone.
“Mhm.” Jungkook hummed, squeaky happy bunny noises coming up. His ears were drooping down in a relaxed way. He'd never seen anyone so satisfied from a good pounding like he was right now.
Taehyung was glad he did this.
The bunny was sleeping soundly within minutes. Taehyung was glad, because he was exhausted now after a whole day of worrying.
They fell asleep like that, in each other's arms, soft smiles on both of their faces

Chapter 8: A Good Morning
Summary:
Jungkook rides out the last bit of his heat.
Chapter Text
Unusually, Jungkook woke up first the next morning. He felt the last bit of his heat still in him. Still horny, but way more in control of his mind, his instincts. Thanks to Taehyung.
He would've had to suffer a couple more days if he didn't come up to help.
His eyes slowly blinked open, smiling at the sleeping human beside him. Jungkook felt endlessly lucky that Taehyung was the one he was with now. Despite the rocky start to their relationship, Taehyung was a great person. Always putting Jungkook first, making sure he's always okay, great dick.
Speaking of, the more Jungkook got away, the harder it was to ignore how turned on he was. He knew it wouldn't take much more for his heat to be over, but it was like an itch he couldn't quite scratch by himself. He could try and please himself for hours with very little success. It took a partner to get him to that place he needed.
The bunny slid over on the bed, laying flat on top of Taehyung. He hated to disturb him when he was sleeping in for once. Jungkook started nipping and sucking on Taehyung's neck to see if he’d wake up. He only sighed and shifted a little. He was so out of it. The bunny kissed down his collar bone, over his pectorals, then his wet lips settled over one of his nipples. He sucked on it lightly, waiting to see if Taehyung would react. Again, only some heavier breaths and small movements. This wouldn't work at all.
Jungkook slid down his body and licked his lips when his eyes fell on his prize. His cock was soft, but it still made the bunny moan looking at it. He'd gotten but a small taste of what he could do with this thing. He wanted more.
The bunny kissed down the shaft, sucking around the underside of the base. It twitched, slowly waking up. Hopefully Taehyung would too. Jungkook took one of his balls into his mouth, gently moving his tongue over it. Taehyung grunted a little, face contorting. The bunny was satisfied with that reaction, so he licked a stripe up his half hard cock to the tip. He gripped the base and held it up, watching it harden more. His mouth was watering. He'd never seen such a pretty and yummy looking cock before.
Once it was mostly hardened, he took the tip into his mouth and swirled his tongue around it, bobbing his head just a little. Above him, Taehyung groaned, moving more as he was probably waking up now. Jungkook hummed, satisfied with his work. He swallowed around the tip, and felt a hand come into the top of his hair.
He looked up and saw Taehyung sleepily blinking his eyes open, confused by what was going on. That didn't stop Jungkook. It only added more fuel to the fire. The bunny slowly started bobbing his head again, taking more and more into his mouth. His cheeks were hollowed out, sucking down on the heavy member against his tongue. He could do this all day.
Taehyung’s fingers gripped his hair more, heavy breaths coming from his mouth.
“Kook,” Taehyung said with a sleepy, breathy tone. The bunny let his jaw relax fully before deep throating his cock. Taehyung tugged on his hair and moaned. Jungkook looked up at him, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. Taehyung’s face was red.
“Bunny, c'mon. Off.” Taehyung's hips betrayed him by thrusting up into his mouth a little. It made him gag, then moan. Jungkook wanted more, but he listened. Not without sucking hard on the tip as he popped off it. Taehyung was breathing so heavily already.
“Morning,” Jungkook said, wiping his chin from the spit that dribbled onto it. He smiled cutely at his human. “Fuck my face?” He asked, licking his lips.
Taehyung sighed. “Still in heat? Let me get awake a little more and then I can help you.”
“Then, I'll just suck you off to wake you up.” Jungkook was teasing him. But it was so easy.
He stroked the human’s cock a few times before pressing his lips to the tip again, tongue teasing the slit. Taehyung's breath hitched in his throat. Jungkook resumed his previous action of sucking and bobbing his head, being really messy with it too. He loved the mess. He could taste precome now too, encouraging him to take more down his throat.
Taehyung placed a hand on the back of Jungkook’s head, pushing it down and moaning when the bunny was able to deep throat his cock again. Jungkook felt the tears back In his eyes roll down when Taehyung thrusted up. Jungkook looked up at him, wanting to encourage him to do it again. Taehyung must've understood, as he started fucking into his mouth.
Jungkook loved the feeling of his mouth being so full, the weight of Taehyung’s cock down his throat. He was moaning between thrusts.
Taehyung must've been close. His thrusting was getting messy, his stuttering. He pulled Jungkook’s hair to try and get him off before he came.
“K-kook, Off.” He said with a fucked out voice. Jungkook simply ignored that, continuing to go down on him.
Taehyung came in his mouth with a louder breathy moan, and his hips twitching up. Jungkook gasped and swallowed all of it. He felt extremely satisfied making Taehyung come like that so early in the morning.
He pulled the softening cock out of his mouth and smiled at the human who was catching his breath.
“Could've waited for me to help you,” Taehyung grumbled. Jungkook rolled his eyes and sat up.
“Are you complaining about getting your dick sucked? That was just as satisfying for me.” Jungkook explained as he sat in his lap.
Taehyung smiled, laughing a little. “No, not complaining. It was amazing, bunny. But, I'm here to help you through your heat. Can't fuck you since I just came.”
“Lame. Skill issue.” Jungkook said jokingly. “I can use the dildo again. No problem.” He playfully started to move off Taehyung’s lap, but those big hands wrapped around his waist to keep him there.
“Woah, no no no, not using that tiny thing. There are other methods to please my bunny.”
My bunny. The words made Jungkook dizzy. Suddenly he'd do anything the human wanted him to do. Tied up, cock warming, teased to tears, bouncing on his cock for hours, thigh fucked, just a hole really, bent over backwards, every position, no lube -
“Sit on my face.” Taehyung's words pulled him out of his thoughts. Now that was unexpected. Jungkook was the one with the red face now. But, he listened. He held onto the headboard as he climbed up to sit his ass over Taehyung’s face. The human spread his cheeks apart.
“There we go,” He whispered. “Good boy,”
Jungkook’s mouth fell open, whining at the praise. He was annoyed that just a couple words got him worked up like this. He wanted to fight back, but Taehyung’s tongue was already working against his puckered little hole.
“Oh,” He moaned out, grip on the headboard suddenly getting firmer. His head threw back when he felt the wet muscle push inside of him. He hadn't noticed before, but Taehyung had a long tongue. It felt long.
He felt pathetic by how loud he was from getting eaten out. How fast his thighs were shaking from the pleasure. He couldn't help the way he was squirming. Taehyung was too fucking good at this. He was fucking his tongue up into him, and sucking on the rim like it was his job.
“T-tae..” Jungkook wanted to cry because it felt so good. “Hyungie, m close..” It was lowkey embarrassing.
But, Taehyung doubled down and pushed his tongue a little farther, able to brush past his prostate. Jungkook sobbed out a moan, feeling more tears run down his face over the dried ones from earlier. Taehyung took advantage of this and kept massaging his tongue over his prostate.
Jungkook was seeing stars as he came with a loud, broken moan. His thighs kept shaking as he rode out his orgasm on Taehyung's face.
Once he was coming down, he moved back to Taehyung's lap, catching his breath. Taehyung had this smug look on his face.
“Want that dildo now?” He asked.
Jungkook huffed, playfully pushing his face to the side. “Did you do that just to prove a point?”
“I think it worked. Do you, bunny?”
“Not answering that,” He said stubbornly. He shifted a little in Taehyung’s lap to get comfortable when he realized Taehyung was hard again, already.
He grinned widely and bit his lip.
“Get hard from eating me out?” Jungkook teased. Taehyung was more awake now and ready to fight back.
“Hell yeah I did. Did you hear yourself bun? So loud and needy, came so quickly from my tongue.” Taehyung reached back and kneaded his ass roughly. “It was hot.”
Jungkook moaned a little from his ass getting played with. “L-let me ride you.” Jungkook ignored what Taehyung had said. “Fuck I need your stupid big cock in me now.”
Taehyung laughed at him and grabbed the bottle of lube from the nightstand. “Stupid isn't the right word to get what you want now, bunny. Gotta be nicer than that to me.” Taehyung handed Jungkook the lube. “Turn around and open yourself up for me,”
Jungkook cut his eyes. He wouldn’t admit it but he was eating up this version of Taehyung. Wasn’t he supposed to be a shy loner? Jungkook half expected him to be a virgin. Clearly he wasn’t.
Jungkook turned around like he was told, and popped the cap. He felt exposed in this position, fully on display on top of Taehyung. But, he was feeling the fight built up inside him. He’d put on a show.
Jungkook spread one of his cheeks to the side, then brought his lubed up fingers back. He rubbed two against himself, breathing shakily as he did. He felt Taehyung grip onto the back of his thighs. It encouraged him to press his two fingers inside himself. He was still a little loose from last night, it didn’t hurt or burn. Though his fingers weren’t as long and nice as Taehyung's, he knew the human was watching very closely.
He immediately started moving them in and out, breathing out of his mouth with little sounds of pleasure falling off his lips.
“You can take one more, bun.” Taehyung said behind him. It was like he was reminding Jungkook who was in charge. Sure, he could. But it was like giving Taehyung just what he wanted. He kept his two fingers moving, trying to get them as deep as Taehyung was able to get his. It was futile, but he was trying.
At some point, he really wanted that third finger, but he was too stubborn to give in. It sounded like Taehyung was laughing at him. Fuck.
”Can’t take it? Want help?” He keened. “Thought you wanted me,”
”S-shut up,” He grumbled. “What’s with you? Working me up like this.” Jungkook slid the third finger in, sighing in satisfaction at the way it finally filled him up more than the two could on their own.
“You’re cute when you get worked up. Easy to mess with,” He could hear the smile in Taehyung’s voice. Ugh.
Jungkook didn’t want to entertain this conversation anymore. He got a fourth finger in, feeling that burn inside finally. He chewed on his bottom lip to try and keep himself together. Taehyung groaned behind him.
”Fuck, look so good stretching yourself out for me,”
Jungkook breathed out a small laugh. “Yeah?” He practically moaned out his answer. “For you? Thought I was getting the toy,”
He supposed Taehyung didn’t like that joke, because he got a firm slap on the ass for that. It made him gasp in surprise.
“Oh we can still do that bunny, but was that thing even helping you? I thought I was here to be your personal toy.”
Jungkook was somewhat glad Taehyung couldn’t see his red face. “Toys don’t talk.” He mumbled. He was surprised to find out Taehyung had this little jealous streak in him. He didn’t notice the jealousy when Jimin was all over him. Was that different? Did he have time to think about it? No.
“Fingers out.” Taehyung’s voice had dropped lower, somehow. Jungkook was done playing with him and being stubborn.
Jungkook complied, pulling them out and grabbing the lube again. He twisted his body around to spread some messily over Taehyung’s cock. He could feel that this would be the last time he needed to be over his heat.
When he was satisfied with the coverage, he angled his hole and Taehyung’s cock up. He slowly settled down onto his length with a sigh. Just like he needed. So thick and long. It was unfair. Taehyung couldn’t just be handsome and sweet. Had to have a monster between his legs too.
He could feel it reaching deeper this way too. Taehyung brought his knees up, feet flat against the bed. Jungkook pressed his palms down on them to hold. Rolling his hips around, feeling Taehyung rearranging his insides like that. He mewled, then started slowly lifting himself up, and settling back down. After he found a good rhythm, he started moving faster.
He found himself getting lost in the pleasure, head tilting back with steady moans coming up from his throat. The bunny guessed it was starting to become not enough for Taehyung with the way he started thrusting up. It felt better, but Jungkook was so serious, he could’ve kept bouncing on his cock like that for hours.
It didn’t take long after that Taehyung was sitting up and pushing him down against the mattress, taking over. Jungkook also liked it a lot like this. He couldn’t help the bunny smile spreading across his lips as the human impatiently started pounding into him. Sometimes he felt like he was made specifically for this.
Though, just as fast as he started to enjoy it, he felt his orgasm curling up inside his tummy. His face was pushed into the mattress, so he wasn’t able to tell Taehyung, but the human probably got it by the way he snapped his hips forward faster.
His body seized up as he came, a long moan ripping out of his throat. Taehyung wasn’t far behind, he felt the human spill deep inside him. Jungkook knew his heat was over by the way his cock finally went soft.
When Taehyung pulled out, he collapsed on the bed. But, Taehyung was up to clean him off before he could really relax. He felt a gentle and warm washcloth clean him up. The human flipped him over to get the come on his tummy. Jungkook smiled looking up at him. When Taehyung caught his gaze, he smiled back and laughed.
“Yeah? Satisfied?” He said in an amused tone. Jungkook nodded.
“Mm, heat’s passed now too.” He sat up on his elbows. “Thank you,”
Taehyung moved away when he finished cleaning. “Yeah? I thought it would last longer than that.”
“No, well, it depends. If I’m not feeling satisfied it takes longer. The better it is, the less time it takes.”
“So I fucked you real good?” Taehyung had a smug grin on his face.
”I guess so, somewhat.” Jungkook said jokingly. “You’re so annoying.”
”Too annoyed to be hungry?” Taehyung asked. Jungkook sat up more.
”Never, don’t you have work though?”
“No, I texted Jisoo. It’s the first time I’ve closed the store with no holiday or heads up.”
Jungkook hummed and attempted to stand up, stumbling a little when he did. Taehyung helped him get an oversized shirt on before going to the kitchen and preparing a quick breakfast of oatmeal and fruit.
Jungkook sat on one of the kitchen island bar stools while he ate.
”So, I have to ask, none of that triggered you?” Taehyung asked at some point during their breakfast. Jungkook tilted his head to the side, confused.
”No? What are you talking about?”
“You were forced to do it with other hybrids, learn to have sex to in theory please an old rich dude?”
Jungkook hummed in thought as he chewed his last bite of food.
“I didn't trust humans. That was my trauma. I never gave much thought to the sex because it's natural to us. Our animal instincts and all that.”
“I'd take you to therapy if you wanted it, Jungkook.” Taehyung's voice sounded more serious.
“I'm serious, I'm fine. I think that's just how we're made. Our emotions move faster. We can get over things faster. Like a pet would.”
“But repeated abuse-”
Jungkook got out of his seat and squeezed Taehyung's cheeks.
“Did I seem traumatized or triggered during sex?”
“No.” Taehyung placed his hands on his waist and pulled him closer.
“Please trust me? I'll tell you if I get upset.”
Taehyung nodded, kissing his clothed chest.
“Alright, let's shower.”
“Bath?”
“You want a bath, bunny?” Taehyung asked in an amused tone. “As long as you get clean. You're still covered in sweat.”
Jungkook happily followed his human into the bath. Taehyung took extra care of him this time. It made his heart flutter. This was real. Taehyung really cared about him.
The bunny sat in his lap while he massaged his lower back, that was aching a bit he admitted.
Oh to be a bunny under Taehyung’s care. He wanted to keep him there forever. His feelings for the human kept growing. Soon enough he'd be wanting to say big words he'd never used before. It scared him a little, but Taehyung was safe.
When he was ready, he'd say the words that were deep within his heart.

Chapter Text
It had been over a year since Taehyung had gone home to his parent's farm. He usually went once a year, but it had been delayed this time due to some bunny stuff. It was the first week in March and he was driving with his bunny in the passenger seat. Jungkook was excited to meet his parents. Something about meeting the people who made it possible for them to meet. It was sappy, and Taehyung was finding out how sappy and romantic the bunny could be. They'd been on a few dates now, real ones.
The first one was dinner and a movie at the old theater in town that played old movies years after they'd come out. Then bowling which Jungkook was unusually good at. And their last date was a few nights ago in a museum a few cities over. Jungkook wasn't too fond of that one. He said he enjoyed watching Taehyung look at the pictures and that was it.
Taehyung didn't mind, he enjoyed the company. Learning more and more about Jungkook. Not to mention the great sex. He hated that Jungkook went through what he did, but he knew some things about making love that had his head spinning.
“See that post? That's the property marker for my parents' place.” Taehyung pointed out as they drove by it. The bunny watched it go by out the window, then started searching for the house. After a few minutes and a dirt road, the little cottage came into view.
Little wasn't the right word for it. Compared to his apartment it was huge. But, looking at it from afar made it seem smaller. It was a two story old house. Painted baby blue on the outside with white accents. It looked like the kind of place a farmer would live.
Taehyung parked the car when they pulled in. His parents knew they were coming so the front door was propped open. He helped Jungkook unload their luggage. They'd only be there a few days, but Taehyung anticipated doing a lot of helping out around the farm. There were sure to be things he needed to fix. There always were.
When they walked in the door, into the front living area, Taehyung's mom called from the kitchen.
“Taehyungie, is that you?” She called.
“It's just us, mom.” He called back with a smile.
She came walking in first, a sweet smile on her face. She threw her arms open to hug Taehyung first.
“Oh it's been too long, Taehyungie.” She said as she squeezed him. When she pulled away she looked to Jungkook who bowed to her out of respect.
“Mom, this is Jungkook. I told you about him over the phone.” Taehyung introduced.
“Ah! Yes, the boyfriend hybrid.” She hugged Jungkook next. He seemed a little surprised, but hugged back afterwards.
“We'll take our stuff up to my room. Is dad around?” Taehyung asked.
“Oh yes, he's in the den watching his shows.”
“Oh?” Taehyung was a little confused. Usually his dad would be out working with the animals. He hoped he was okay.
“He's fine dear, come out and join us when you two get settled.” She squeezed his shoulder affectionately before walking back into the kitchen.
Taehyung led them up two flights of stairs to the attic where his room was. There was a big window on the roof and on the far wall. He had begged for years to move up here because it was the coolest room in the house. And it was quieter up here, farther away from the noises on the farm. There was a queen sized bed against one wall, a dresser, and not much else. He brought everything he owned practically with him when he moved.
It was clean up here, surprisingly. He expected that he'd need to wash the sheets or dust, but it looked like his mom was up here to clean.
Jungkook set his luggage down at the foot of the bed. Taehyung told him they could unpack more later, he wanted to see his dad soon.
So, they began the descent to the first floor again.
They made their way through the kitchen where his mom was cooking dinner most likely, then to the back den where his dad liked to kick back and watch TV at the end of the day.
He was sitting in his recliner like he always was, feet kicked up. When he saw Taehyung he smiled and got to his feet pretty well. Last year, his dad started to have trouble with his knees. It was harder for him to move around. He'd become more worried about him since then. Seeing him now, he looked better than he did.
“Dad, nice to see you. This is Jungkook.” Taehyung said when he hugged his dad. Jungkook gave him a bow, but was pulled into a bear huh.
“Your mother mentioned you'd finally started dating again. Glad to meet you, Jungkook.”
“Dad, how are you? I got worried when mom said you weren't out working.” He got right to the point.
“Didn't she tell you? We hired help. He's out there now fixing the chicken coop.”
Right. Taehyung forgot that whole conversation because he gained Jungkook that night. They had a hybrid living here to help out. A bunny wasn't he?
“I forgot. Sorry dad a lot's happened since then.” He smiled sheepishly as his dad sat back down in his chair. He waved his hand dismissively.
“No worries. He's gonna join us for dinner. You'll like him. A lot like you, kinda quiet at first, but a real nice guy when he opens up.”
Jungkook and Taehyung took a seat with his dad in the den for the remainder of time until dinner. His dad was watching one of his old black and white westerns. He'd seen them hundreds of times now, and still loved them.
Sort of like how he felt for Jungkook. He loved him. They hadn't said those words yet, but he felt them all the time. He made it easy to love him.
Dinner rolled around, and they helped Taehyung’s mom set the table up. She made way too much food, in Taehyung’s perspective. Though, with two bunnies maybe it was the right amount.
The backdoor swung open around that time.
“Coop’s done. Think they like it better now-” In walked a tall, very handsome looking bunny hybrid. Did Taehyung mention he was tall? He was wearing a dirty looking tank top and some old jeans. Sweating up a storm. It reminded him of how he looked a lot of times during dinner growing up.
“Soobin?” Jungkook said, eyes wide like he'd seen a ghost. The bunny hybrids mouth dropped open. They recognized each other.
“Jungkook???” Soobin’s shocked face turned into one of delight. He walked towards the other bunny and picked him up in a tight hug.
Taehyung's hand twitched. Jungkook didn't know any other hybrids. Besides the ones he'd met during his time with Taehyung. Knowing Soobin meant only one thing. He was one of the bunny ring hybrids from the time Jungkook was there. Taehyung didn't want to think about what it also meant. Not now. Not when his bunny was nuzzling his face in this pretty boy's neck.
“Do you two know each other?” Mom asked.
“Yeah! Remember, I told you about where I was rescued from? Jungkook was one of the bunnies who was there with me. I never thought I'd see you again,” Soobin said. He started petting his boyfriend's hair. Taehyung's jaw was shut tight. He didn't like this.
“I was so worried about everyone… I'm glad to know you're okay, though. What a crazy coincidence, right Taehyung?” Jungkook said, looking back at him.
Tae forced a smile, and nodded as he took his seat at the dining table. “Yeah, really funny. Good to meet you.” He tried to make it sound natural. It must've worked because no one seemed to notice how jealous he was getting.
Soobin sat down next to Jungkook, of course. And they didn't stop talking the entirety of dinner. Taehyung couldn't get a word in. Not that he tried to talk. He was too busy sulking. He wasn't sure which was worse; that he was taller than Taehyung, a bunny like Jungkook, or was super handsome too. They had history together. This was horrible.
“Can I show you around the farm tomorrow, Kook?” Soobin asked. Now with the nicknames. Plus, Taehyung already planned to do the tour..
“Yeah! I'd love that,” Jungkook said without missing a beat.
Taehyung got up from his chair and took his empty plate to the kitchen. He didn't want to be around that anymore.
He was very familiar with his jealousy towards his lovers. Once he had someone, he was borderline obsessive with them. It was kept at bay mostly with Jungkook because they were together all day, every day. And Jungkook didn't go out without him. There was no reason so far for him to be acting crazy like he usually did.
But now, there was a big reason.
He ended up washing all the dishes for his mom. He found it relaxing, it got him away from the dining room, and he was helping out a little. It soothed him until he was done with them all. He walked back to the dining room with the intention of getting Jungkook to go to bed with him, but the two were still locked in conversation. He didn't want to come off badly, so he left them to go to bed by himself.
Taehyung unpacked both of their suitcases before he got into his pj's and climbed into the bed with a book. He kept reading over the same paragraph, because he wasn't engaged in it at all. All he kept thinking about was what if they had feelings for each other? Like some spark that was left behind. Then this perfect fateful reunion happened. If Taehyung was one of them, he'd probably be feeling something.
What if Soobin was one of the bunnies he ‘trained’ to have sex with. They had so much in common already, he was so tall, what if he had a big dick too-
“Taehyung?” Jungkook poked his head through the door. Tae didn't even hear him come up. He put his book down.
“Hm?” He tried to cool down, it wasn't working.
“Wasn't sure if you were asleep or not,” Jungkook said before coming in, closing the door behind himself.
Why, so you makeout with your new bunny toy? He wanted to say it. That was mean.
“No, but I am tired.” He admitted. Jungkook threw off his clothes and climbed into bed. This was a new one, Jungkook had just started going to bed naked. Said the clothes felt weird when he slept, but Taehyung thought it was for easy access.
“Too tired for kisses?” Jungkook said with a playful pout.
“Don't you want to go kiss your new bunny boyfriend?” It slipped. Fuck.
Jungkook’s eyebrows furrowed together. “Huh? Taehyung, what are you talking about?” He sat up a little. “Are you talking about Soobin?”
Well, he started it. May as well finish it. “Who else but tall handsome bunny boy?”
Jungkook snorted. “You're ridiculous. Aren't you happy I met someone from my past to relate to?”
“Happy you met someone you used to fuck on the regular? Yeah super excited for you.”
“You think I'd hop on his dick while I'm with you?”
“No.” Taehyung grumbled. “But, if I wasn't here you would.”
“You are here, though. And I'm with you. I like you. I don't want anyone else.”
Now that appealed to Taehyung. He wasn't entirely sure where this obsessiveness came from to begin with. Clearly he was raised well. Was it the lack of experience?
Taehyung set his book on the nightstand. “I'm sorry. I got jealous. He's so tall and handsome. Bunny like you. I couldn't help myself.”
Jungkook smiled and laid back down. “Yeah? I kinda like it when you're all jealous and possessive.”
Taehyung could hear that tone of voice he used when he wanted something more. “Want me to show you who you belong to?” Taehyung said, leaning down and capturing his lips in a slow, sensual kiss. Jungkook gladly took it, humming against his lips.
“No, I'll be too loud.” He whispered when they parted.
“It's fine, we're far away from them. They won't hear you,” Taehyung licked over his bottom lip, but he wasn't given access.
“Not your parents… Soobin is a jack rabbit. He has freakishly good hearing. He uses it to protect the livestock at night.”
Oh?
“Let him hear. I’ll show him who's mine.” Taehyung got his way into Jungkook’s mouth when the bunny gasped in surprise at his proposal.
Jungkook let him have his way too. Making love a couple times before they both fell asleep for the night.
Breakfast the next morning was much more pleasant. Taehyung felt bad for thinking it was better without Soobin there. He had gone out before everyone was awake to tend to the farm. Taehyung knew he needed to resolve this. He appreciated Soobin for helping his parents out after all. They really seemed to like him.
After breakfast the back door swung open and Soobin returned. It reminded him of how he used to be when he lived with his parents. Already sweating before the sun was high in the sky.
“I finished the chores, can I get some time off today? I want to show Jungkook around the farm.” Soobin asked his parents when he came in. It still rubbed him the wrong way because technically it was his house first, and Jungkook was his to show around too.
“Of course, take the whole day off if you want to. There's nothing left to be taken care of.” His mom said with a smile.
The tall bunny grinned and waved Jungkook over. His bunny got up happily and followed Soobin out the door. Taehyung was about to cut in and follow them, but his mom stopped him.
“Taehyungie, why don't you catch us up with what's been going on in your life? It hasn't been that long since we talked and you have Jungkook in your life now.”
“Oh, yeah.” Taehyung tried to hide how off put he was. This was why they had come here, to catch up. To meet the parents. Not to chase bunny tail.
They talked for a few hours, slowly and casually discussing the little and big things in life now. Taehyung had never brought anyone back home before so it was a new feeling to be talking about Jungkook.
“Here, take this with you.” Taehyung was about to go out and try to find the bunnies, join them with zero malice for sure. His mom handed him a backpack and a picnic basket full of snacks.
“They're probably out at the lake. Soobin loves it there,” She explained. She sounded very fond of the bunny.
So, Taehyung ended up hiking through the woods to the lake that was on their property. He also loved it as a kid. Spent many summers jumping in at sunset, and swimming with the stars after dark.
He found the bunnies sitting on the edge of the dock, feet dangling down into the water. Soobin was the first to notice Taehyung, then Jungkook looked up at him and smiled.
“Mom sent me up here with snacks.” Taehyung said as he approached them. “I'm not sure what's in the backpack though.” He set down the picnic basket and shrugged the bag off his shoulders. He opened it to find towels. But it was way too cold to swim yet. Barely spring.
“Thank you, Taehyung.” Soobin said as he rummaged through the basket, checking out the snacks.
“No, I should be the one thanking you. You help my parents out a lot when I can't be here to do it myself.”
“Oh it's really no problem. They help me out too. I couldn't have asked for a better place to live.”
Damn he was so nice too.
They cracked into the snacks with little hesitation. It was beginning to be a pretty warm day out. The bunnies seemed to think they were going to take a swim after they ate.
“Guys it's not warm enough.” Taehyung warned. He understood the towels now. His mom knew them well enough to have anticipated this.
The bunnies were shedding their clothes and shoes, right down to their underwear.
“Jump in with us!” Jungkook begged. It was hard to say no to him.
“If we get sick, it's your fault.” Taehyung said before standing and taking off his clothes too. He couldn't believe he agreed to this.
Soobin was the first to dash and jump into the water. Taehyung couldn't read him to tell if it was cold or not. He didn't have much time to think because Jungkook pulled his hand to run to the end of the dock.
When his feet hit the water, he knew it was cold. Freezing cold. Once he rose back up to the surface, he swam back to the dock like a wet cat in water.
Jungkook was laughing at him. “It's not that bad!” He called. Somehow the bunnies were fine, bobbing in the water like it wasn't a big deal.
Taehyung pushed himself up on the dock, shivering. “You can stay, I'll be up here.” He grabbed one of the towels then laid out on the dock.
Despite the cold water, the sun was warm. Taehyung felt himself drifting off to sleep. The last thing he heard before napping was the sound of the two bunnies splashing and playing in the water.
The first thing he noticed as he started waking up was a heavy feeling on top of him. Nap heavy eyes slowly blinked open and saw Jungkook laying on top of him. The bunny was smiling, Taehyung wondered how long he'd been there.
“Sleep well?” Jungkook asked.
“Yeah, the sun's nice.” Taehyung closed his eyes again, bringing his hands up and petting his head. He felt Jungkook kissing over his bare chest, then traveling down dangerously low.
“Kook.” He warned. He opened his eyes and scanned the area. Soobin wasn't around anymore.
“Hm?” Jungkook looked up at him innocently. “What's up?”
“Careful.” Taehyung said, propping himself up on his elbows. “Where'd Soobin go?”
“Oh he left a while ago.” Jungkook crawled back up and kissed his cheeks. “Said he needed a shower.”
“Smart. We need one too. Let's head back.” But before he could get up, Jungkook pushed his shoulders back so that he was laying down again.
“What's the rush?” Jungkook asked, that mischievous grin on his face. He always got these crazy ideas when he had that look.
Taehyung hadn't even realized that Jungkook was fully naked on top of him until that moment. His mouth dropped open. He was impressed, turned on, and scared. What if Soobin forgot something and came back???
But, he could only be so concerned with the future now. Not when his pretty bunny boyfriend was laying on top of him.
He brought his hands up and smoothed them up his thighs, then squeezing his hips, before settling on his waist.
“Don't have lube bunny.” He said, taking one of his hands and rubbing it over his stomach, then his chest.
“Oh? Why would you need that?” Jungkook said, playing dumb. It was cute. Taehyung could play along.
“There's this pretty bunny on top of me, he's hard to resist.” Taehyung rubbed a thumb over one of his nipples, getting a little gasp from Jungkook. “Want to fuck him out here in the open,”
“Yeah? How so?” Jungkook slowly rocked himself back and forth, grinding his ass down onto Taehyung.
“Dunno, there are so many ways I like to have him.” Taehyung gently flipped them over so that Jungkook was on his back. Taehyung grinded down with his half hard clothed cock. “From behind I get to see his tail reacting to what I'm doing. Maybe fuck his face, he has such a good mouth. Or have him hanging off my fingers for a while, loves it when I finger him.”
Jungkook was breathing heavily. Like he'd just read the most delicious menu he looked hungry too. “Fuck, Taehyung-” before he could continue, his ears perked up. He sat up quickly and pulled on his pants without his underwear.
“What is it?” Taehyung asked. He was thrown a shirt that hit him in the face.
“Footsteps.” Jungkook explained while he pulled his own shirt back on in record time.
Taehyung hopped up and followed suit. He was glad this didn't happen when he was balls deep in Jungkook at least.
Just in time, Soobin came through a clearing in the woods. They had their shoes on, standing awkwardly on the dock.
“Mrs. Kim asked me to check on you, sorry.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Thanks, Soobin.” Taehyung said, grabbing their stuff. It was a little harder to move around with a half hard on shifting around in his pants.
“We were just about to come back and shower.” Jungkook said, innocent smile on his face.
As they walked back, Taehyung watched What he supposed was Jungkook trying to make him jealous and rile him up again. The bunny was all over Soobin, squeezing his arm and hugging on him while occasionally looking over his shoulder at Taehyung. It wasn't working very well, because Taehyung knew that under those sweatpants he had on, he was naked and turned on from his doing. But the effort was cute.
Back at the house, it was straight to the shower for them. It was a peaceful shower until Jungkook tried riling him up. Taehyung was rinsing off when he felt a hand wrap around his cock.
“Jungkook, not in the shower.” Taehyung said in a firm tone. His bunny loved to play though.
“I'm not doing anything.” He said, sliding his hand up the shaft and rubbing his thumb over the tip.
“Bad bunnies don't get fucked. It's too slippery here.”
“Good thing there aren't any bad bunnies here.” He teased, rubbing his thumb over the slit now. Taehyung's breath shuddered.
“I'm serious.” Taehyung grabbed his wrist to stop him and shut the water off behind him. “If I knew you were so horny all the time I might have asked for a different bunny.”
Jungkook huffed. “But you always give me what I want. You don't complain.”
They stepped out of the shower and dried off.
“I plead the fifth.” Taehyung said when they went back into his bedroom to get dressed.
This was an even harder battle. Jungkook’s hands were all over him as he tried to get dressed.
He fought well, and got the bunny off him long enough to finish dressing.
The rest of the day was back and forth like this. Jungkook was locked in, on a mission. Taehyung didn’t mind it, even though he pretended to be annoyed to satisfy his boyfriend. To give Jungkook credit he was also being very attentive to his parents, helping them out and talking with them for a long time.
There was a calm period after dinner, they had a fire pit going outside. Taehyung was able to take a moment to enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the company of the people he loved most.
The word lingered in his head as he watched Jungkook talk with his parents about something on the other side of the fire. Love.
“Time for us to turn in.” Taehyung's parents were standing up. Soobin stood with them.
“I’ll come too, it was a long day.” He explained. He winked at Taehyung. He guessed they hadn’t been as subtle as he hoped they were today.
“We’ll take care of the fire.” Taehyung said.
Once they were gone, Jungkook was up in action. He was sitting in Taehyung’s lap before he could move.
Jungkook settled his hands on his shoulders. “I have two surprises.” He stated, proud of himself.
Taehyung laughed. “Oh yeah? Do I get to know what they are?”
“You can find them.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. He pulled Jungkook closer to him. He had a couple guesses. Taehyung slid his hands into Jungkook’s pants. He smirked, feeling his bare skin.
“I think you really hate clothes,” Taehyung slid his pants down. Jungkook grabbed his wrist to stop him.
“Wait! There’s another surprise,” He reached down and pulled something out of his pocket. It was the bottle of lube they brought with them.
“Wow, I’m very shocked.” Taehyung took the lube from his hand and continued to take his pants off.
Jungkook helped him, then settled back into his place on his lap. “You don’t seem very shocked.” He fake pouted. “I have a bigger secret.” His face, his tone, shifted when he said it. Taehyung had been distracted by his bare ass in his lap, but he paid attention when he said that.
“You’re like the gift that keeps on giving.” Taehyung said, feeling the mood shift to a more sappy one. “Go ahead, I’ll keep the secret.” He turned his head, gesturing for the bunny to whisper in his ear.
Jungkook giggled, and leaned in, kissing the shell of his ear so gently. Taehyung was a puddle for him.
“Promise you’ll keep it?” He whispered in his ear. Taehyung smiled widely.
“Mhm, lips are sealed.”
“Then..” He paused for just a moment before dropping it.
“I love you.”
Taehyung’s heart fell out of his chest, and landed into Jungkook’s palm. He wanted to hear those words over and over from his lips, just like that.
“Can you keep it-” Jungkook started before Taehyung cut him off with a kiss. He was so overcome with emotions.
When he pulled away, he looked into Jungkook’s eyes.
“I love you, too.” He had to say it, because it was true and he felt comfortable saying it knowing the bunny felt the same.
Under the stars, beside the warm fire, in each other's arms. It was one of those high moments in life, a pinnacle moment.
Taehyung popped open the bottle of lube and spread it over his fingers. He reached down and slid one of his fingers in fairly easily. It wasn't long before two and three found their way inside
He wasn't rushing this, and Jungkook seemed to be on the same page thankfully. What was usually a whiny and needy bunny was soft and taking everything Taehyung was giving him.
Taehyung slid his fingers out, then pulled out his cock. After he lubed it up, he held it in place while Jungkook slowly sank down. His hips rolled around a little when he was fully seated, his mouth hanging open with pretty little gasps coming out.
His hips were twitching, his hole clenching around Taehyung but he didn't move. Taehyung let him do what he wanted, holding him up in his lap. He'd learned that Jungkook had two speeds; fast and hard, then slow and indulgent. This seemed to be the latter.
“Feel so good inside me.” He said softly. Jungkook reached down and pressed his hand to the bottom of his stomach. There was a little bulge from where Taehyung's cock was so deep inside him. He felt it twitch at the sight.
“You really like being filled up, don't you?” Taehyung asked in an amused tone.
“Only by my Taehyung.” He pressed a soft kiss to his lips. What a sweet baby bunny.
While their lips were connected, Jungkook slowly started rising and sinking down onto his cock. The pace was agonizingly slow after a while, but Taehyung was letting Jungkook take all he needed. They were in love after all.
Though, after a few more minutes the bunny started moving faster, sinking lower each time.
“T-taehyung, Taehyung,” He breathed out between his soft moans. That was his queue to take over.
Taehyung settled his hands onto Jungkook’s hips and started thrusting up into him at a faster pace than Jungkook was able to get to on his own.
It wasn't very long after that Jungkook’s head was thrown back as he came. Taehyung continued to fuck up into him until he orgasmed too.
Jungkook fell against him, face nuzzling into his neck. He sighed in a satisfied way.
“I love you,” Taehyung said, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
Jungkook smiled. “Mm, I love you too.”
He'd never been so glad he said yes that cold December night of his birthday. To a hybrid he didn't know he needed.
His heart was full, they were one.
Everything was perfect.
