    Summary

1183. Lluna Valentia bint Al Mualim De Bosch is a lady fruit of an interfaith union that hoped to unite two conflicting faiths of Al-Andalus. But hope is a dream and the reality is that the family's influence is in danger with the constant friction between the Almohads and the Christians wishing to retake their land.

At nineteen, Lluna is the only remaining daughter to be wed, and their only hope to salvage their social standing. At the other side of the Mediterranean, the terminally young King of Jerusalem fears for the future of his kingdom and his struggle to provide a successor that will lead in example.
In a last act of hope, or desperation, word is sent out that the King looks for a betrothed. Many kingdoms receive the news, but few people are eager to answer. Yet in Al-Andalus, it means a seizable opportunity for a certain family. It is no doubt a convenient solution for both sides. But the convenience is flawed, complicated. Because of the King's illness, it remains to be seen whether there is a point to it all. And, after all, nobody asked what Lady Lluna thought about the whole situation.

Can this unwilling bride give her life and love away to a leper? And what makes her the only one who could?
