Chapter Text

Earth-4444

Republic City

Several Months Ago

As with every universe, as the old saying goes, it started out as an ordinary day. But this particular city in this spiritual world had seen a lot in the last several years, starting with the Equalist takeover to the giant rampage of UnaVaatu as well another giant rampage of Kuvira’s Colossus leading the attack of the Earth Empire forces.

But the city endured despite all that these events had thrown at it, even if the last attack resulted in the creation of a giant spirit portal in the center of the city displacing most of it’s residents and causing an increase in Triad activity and crime in general. But that day started as a day of excitement, for the Republic had elected a new president.

Zhu-Li was giving her new speech as the newly-inaugurated President of the United Republic. The final part of her speech was inspired by a quote from an important figure who not only founded this city, but the Republic itself.

It happened when the new president just finished her speech when, as if on cue, certain people in the crowd turned to dust and vanished.

On the balcony, Avatar Korra watched in horror as her girlfriend Asami Sato was turned to dust after the both told of their love to each other. What was originally a day of triumph and joy had turned into a total nightmare. All that the Avatar could do was yell Asami’s name as she turned to dust.

Inside the ballroom where Zhu-Li had just completed her speech half the crowd suffered the same fate as the CEO of Future Industries. Cheering was replaced with screams of terror at what was happening.

“Mako, I don’t feel so good.” Bolin said to his brother with dread in his voice as he too was turned to dust.

Mako barely heard what his brother said as screams filled the room and was in shock of what he was seeing before his very eyes. Thankfully he saw Zhu-Li (who wasn’t dusted) trying to calm down the crowd, despite her husband Varrick also being dusted. Mako still didn’t entirely forgive the eccentric inventor for framing him a few years ago, but even he knew Varrick didn’t deserve that fate of whatever was going on.

He then saw Korra run into the room and onto the stage, helping President Zhu-Li try to calm the crowd down.

“People! Calm down!” Korra yelled, trying to calm the crowd, “I am the Avatar, but I have also struggled. I’ve had to struggle with three years of depression and didn’t let that get me down in the end. But we’ve mostly struggled together, this city has survived the likes of Amon, UnaVaatu, and Kuvira and we won’t let whatever happening right now affect our resolve.”

As the Avatar gave her speech, the crowd began to calm down. But soon they heard the crashes and screams from the chaos down in the streets bellow. Everyone in the room had one thing on the top of their minds.

Spirits, what in the world was happening!

Now

Korra woke up from another flashback of… that night. While she was reminded that what happened a few months ago was over, it still was difficult to remember, especially seeing Asami and her own parents turn to dust in what the world would later call the “Age of Dust”, even if said Age only lasted for two days. It was still difficult to remember that night, even if everyone who was Dusted returned.

Korra looked at the other side of her bed to see Asami sleeping on the other side of the bed. She looked at the clock and saw that it was early in the morning at the crack of dawn. The Avatar’s girlfriend looked beautiful sleeping in the light of the sunrise. Asami then woke up ands saw the look on Korra’s face.

“Had another nightmare.” The CEO of Future Industries said groggily to her girlfriend.

Korra nodded, “It was the memory of you, Bolin, mom, and dad being… dusted. I seem to always have the same nightmares. That as well as you and the others being brainwashed into Guan’s army. It’s just within the last several months I’ve thought I’d lose you twice.” Tears were beginning to form around the Avatar’s face.

Asami then hugged her girlfriend.

“Thanks Asami.” Korra said, while wiping the tears from her eyes.

In the aftermath, like in any disaster, someone tried to blame someone and vice versa. Many at first believed that the spirits (or at least a very powerful spirit) were responsible for the Age of Dust. But when the humans got an answer when the spirits said that their world was affected as much as the human one. Plus there were multiple eyewitness accounts of seeing spirits being dusted in the human world. When that info came to the Avatar a sense of horror came to Korra that whatever started the Age of Dust was something beyond even the Spirit World.

Plus with what happened with Commander Guan and his chief scientist, Dr. Sheng brainwashing Asami, Mako, Bolin, and Wu into loyal minions of the Earth Empire. Korra thought that it was a miracle that the brainwashing was undone thanks to Kuvira and Baatar Jr. Even though the commander and the mad scientist were now imprisoned, it still didn’t stop the nightmares of Korra losing her girlfriend to something that was unexpected and insane. Even with the Avatar having a therapist, it still didn’t stop the pain from going away.

“Korra, just remember I’ll always be there for you. Wether as the Avatar or just you.” Asami said, who then kissed her girlfriend on the lips.

Korra briefly had butterflies in her stomach. She came back to full awareness to see Asami leaving the bedroom.

The Avatar hoped that this relationship would last forever.

Inside the most secure prison in the United Republic, Korra, Asami, Mako, and Bolin walked inside the cell block that was contained Dr. Sheng. They were escorted by a White Lotus guard.

“Are you sure you two want to do this?” Mako said to his brother and Asami, “You don’t need come all this way for the interrogation.”

“Bro, after what that mad doctor did to all of us, minus Korra of course, I feel like that we deserve some payback.” Bolin said, with a hint of revenge in his voice.

“This isn’t some sort of revenge Bolin. Sheng got into my head as well. Asami and I went through the exact thing you went through too.” Mako explained to his brother.

“I know.” Bolin said, with some regret at what he just said. “It’s just that when I was brainwashed by Sheng, all that I felt was loyalty to Guan and his empire.”

Asami then spoke up, “Do any of you guys feel there was more in that brainwashing?”

“What do you mean Asami?” Korra asked her girlfriend.

“It’s just well… I’ve been having these visions in my dreams. Visions and words that I don’t understand.” Asami explained the best that she could.

“What do you mean?” The Avatar asked.

“Well, I see stars. But they are different than the ones that we see in the night sky. Where they are placed it’s all wrong.” Asami explained with all her might to remember.

“Yeah, I’ve been having those same dreams every night as well.” Bolin said with some realization, “Wasn’t sure about the stars, but it was still weird. With those ships, instead of they travelled across space, instead by sea or air. Like in some sort of mover.”

“Exactly.” Asami said.

“Yeah, me too. With some weird sort of words.” Mako explained his dreams as well to his friends.

“What did those words say?” Korra said, curiously in her voice.

Asami spoke, “They all were weird in their own sense. But one word I noticed that was being repeated a lot.”

Her girlfriend and two best friends said the same word.

“Skrull.”

“Or Skrulls.” Bolin added in. “It’s just a weird word. Maybe we should talk to our therapists or someone to find out about its meaning.”

“Or we could talk to Sheng. We are approaching her cell.” Mako said, now hoping to get some answers. Mainly, on how the mad scientist was able to alarmingly brainwash them into loyal subjects of the Guan so quickly. It’s not like brainwashing was something foreign to him. After all, the Dai Li had there own version of what Sheng used. But their method was a process of days or even weeks on the subject in order to control them. What Sheng had done to all three of them took around an hour to have total control of their will. Mako shuddered at the memory of being brainwashed.

When Team Avatar turned a corner to the hall that housed Sheng’s cell, they were surprised to find a group of White Lotus agents. With Sheng in their custody.

“What’s going on?” The guard said in a slightly confused voice.

One of the guards escorting Sheng answered, “Prison transfer. Were transporting Dr. Sheng to a new facility.”

“We weren’t informed about any transfer?” Korra said, now starting to become confused as well.

Another guard escorting Sheng spoke, “Sorry Avatar. We’ll let you know where Dr. Sheng is being transferred to.”

“Well, be sure to let us know when you guys do these sort of things.” Asami said with a slightly annoyed voice.

“Relax, Miss Sato. We’ll let you and your girlfriend know where Dr. Sheng is being transferred to. Must have been a glitch in the system.” The first guard explained.

“Glitch?” Mako said, confused at what that word was.

“I never told many people about Asami and I being together?” Korra said with confusion and worry, “Only a few friends and family.”

“Ohh… uhhh…” The guard who slipped stuttered.

Sheng then spoke, “Forget it Lilak. The Avatar and her friends are on to us.” She then pointed a strange looking device from her pocket and fired it, hitting the White Lotus guard. Causing him, to the surprise of Team Avatar and the other guard, to be disintegrated.

“What the heck!” Bolin reacted at what just happened.

Korra and Mako then bended a couple of flames at the imposters trying to free Sheng from prison. Sheng in return fired the strange device at them, with the rest of her opponents making sure to avoid its beam. Bolin then used his earthbending to make shards of rocks fly towards the intruders, but when hitting them, instead of falling on their knees, they shrugged as if the blows meant nothing. Bolin was shocked, hits like that were enough to take down a large boar-q-pine out cold, and especially a human.

One of the imposters then spoke while a blast from another device, “You really have no idea what’s happening and who we are Avatar.”

“You’re part of the Red Lotus.” Korra blurted out while propelling a jet of water at them, “I’ve dealt with you guys before and I’ll beat you again.”

The man then spoke while taking another shot, “You were barely able to handle them. What makes you think that you can handle us.”

“So… not Red Lotus then.” Bolin said confusingly, while flinging a piece of Earth.

“Correct, you primitive.” Another imposter spoke. This one projecting strange energy from his hands, “We are so much bigger than those anarchists. We will install order to this world.”

“Well, I’m the Avatar, bringing balance and order to the world is my job.” Korra announced while airbending a jet stream at the intruders. Which knocked one of the intruders off their feat. “So deal with it.”

Bolin then used his earthbending to restrain the intruder that Korra knocked off.

“Enough of this!” Sheng yelled while firing the strange device, “Activate the portal and get out of this prison!”

One of the intruders pulled out a strange device from, what Team Avatar assumed to be their pocket. They then seemed to tab on it and immediately afterwards a portal appeared. Different from the ones that lead into the spirit world. This portal was a blue vortex that led to who knows where.

All of Team Avatar gasped at what they just saw.

Korra then spoke, “If your mad at the new portal spirits, I’ll resolve anything that’s upsetting you…”

But the intruder that opened the portal then suddenly laughed. “Foolish human. My colleagues and I are not spirits, as you describe the things that you worship. We are so much more than that.” He… it then changed it’s appearance. It turned into a bald, green-skinned creature with wrinkly chin and wearing purple suit that Team Avatar would see in a sci-fi mover, only more modest. “We work for something far more grandeur than you or your world.”

Sheng then yelled, “We don’t have time for theatrics!” changing her appearance identically to her counterpart. Then both creatures ran into the portal, which closed immediately after they entered it.

The other intruder, who was still restrained by Bolin’s earthbending, then yelled as the portal closed, “Don’t leave me with these primitives you fools!” It then changed his appearance, matching the other two creatures.

Then a bunch of White Lotus guards ran towards Team Avatar and one of them said, “Avatar! We heard a commotion.” The guards then saw the green creature. “What in the spirit world is that thing?!”

Avatar Korra was at lose of words as well at what just happened several minutes ago as well.

Several hours later at Air Temple Island, Team Avatar was still trying figure out what happened. The four of them had just finished telling Tenzin, Jinora, Kya, Varrick, Opal, and President Zhu-Li what they had seen a few hours ago. The four of them were just as shocked as Team Avatar was upon hearing the story.

Opal then spoke, “So this… thing is now restrained by the White Lotus.”

“When we left, yeah.” Korra said, still reeling from what she saw still.

“Very fascinating.” Varrick said, “A being that can change it’s appearance that is not a spirit.”

“It denied that is was one.” Mako added in, “But still, the fact that Sheng, if we call her that, is still on the lose with the other creature. Causing most likely more mayhem.”

“I’ll be sure to contact the other nation’s governments on what you four just saw.” Zhu-Li said, with worry in her voice. First the Age of Dust, now this. Her presidency will be one for the history books.

Asami then spoke, “But what did those things want with Sheng?”

“Maybe her brainwashing technique. After all, it was able to control you three in an hour?” Varrick pondered. “Shape-changing things from beyond the Spirit World. Now that would be a good idea for a mover.”

“Ahh, that would be a jolly splendid good idea. It’s closer to truth than all of you can possibly imagine.” A voice, with joyful youth in it, said.

The group then turned its attention to where the voice came from. In their sights were three people that all looked very strange to them. For one, their skin was pale.

The first person was a man that looked to be in his early thirties. He had brown hair and wore green tweet jacket with a red bowtie, a white buttoned shirt and grey pants. He also carried a pocket watch on his jacket.

The second person was a younger woman, who had strange red hair on her head. Her expression was of fiery passion.

The third person appeared to be around the same age as the woman, he had a thin appearance. Both him and the woman wore strange clothing that the group had no idea how describe it, other than the fabric was foreign looking.

Mako was the first to speak, “Who are you three and how did you get here? This area is off limits to tourists.”

The red haired woman then spoke with a strange accent, “Well, if you want an answer. I’m Amy, this my husband, and this our good friend the Doctor.”

“Doctor who?” Tenzin spoke wanting some sort of answer.

“Just the Doctor.” The tweet man spoke, “So I see that you already met some Skrulls then.”

“Wait, the green things. That’s what a Skrull is.” Asami said, recognizing the word.

“Yes. But I heard your story. That one Skrull was right about one thing.” The Doctor explaining like he was a teacher.

“What do you mean?” Korra said, with some concern in her voice.

The Doctor clapped his hands and with a grim tone to his voice, “What I mean is that this is something much bigger than all of you can comprehend.”

Notes:

And with that the IC multiverse has the Avatar verse (not the James Cameron one) has been added. More specifically “Legend of Korra”.

If the dialogue and plot didn’t tell you fans already notice, the continuation comics, “Turf Wars” and “Ruins of Empire”, are a part of this universe’s canon.

For the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory this takes place after their appearance in “The Power of Three”, but before “Angels Take Manhattan”.

Also to clarify, this IC fic is not tied into my other Doctor Who/Avatar fic featuring Aang and the First Doctor.

Anyway, hope you fans enjoyed what I whipped up and hoped I post a new chapter in any of my fics soon. Because I’m moving soon, so my writing schedule might interrupted for a while.

Tofa and see you fans next time.

Chapter 2: More than you Realize Avatar

Notes:

Yeah, yeah, I know. It’s been a year since I last updated this fic.

But wait no more. Because now I have a full story planned out for this fic.

Hope you fans like what I have in store.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“What do you mean, bigger than we all can comprehend?”

Korra was the first to respond after the mysterious man known only as the Doctor, along with his two pale companions that were strangely named Amy and Rory.

Amy was the first respond to the residents of Earth-4444, “Ah, well you see…”

Rory interrupted his wife by saying, “Well, were actually we are part of a theater troupe. Which is why our skin is so pale. Because make-up. And so…”

The Doctor, who was quickly reading a couple of newspapers, then suddenly spoke up, “Calm yourself down Rory, just because that their technology level is at your world’s 1920’s doesn’t mean that they are stupid.”

Amy spoke with some annoyance in her voice, “Doctor, you treat us like we are monkeys sometimes.”

The Doctor, embarrassed, said, “Hey, I’m teaching you guys how to drive the TARDIS. Cut me some slack.”

Tenzin coughed, letting the time travelers remember that they were here. He then spoke up, “Can you three explain who you are, and why are you here?”

The Doctor then spoke as he clapped his hands together, “Sorry, my friends and I got distracted. To answer your questions, but I take it that you are familiar with other worlds?”

“You mean like the Spirit World?” Bolin asked.

“But those Skrull things said that they were beyond the Spirit World.”  Asami added.

“Glad that you were able to catch on. They come from a parallel universe. Think of those like a place where a certain event came by differently, like for example if all of you were never born.” The Doctor explained.

“Uh, Doctor that might have been too much for them to handle.” Amy said with concern.

“Actually, I do get it.” Asami spoke up,  “A parallel universe is like the human world, but different in some way. Like if Korra was never the Avatar or I became an Equalist.”

The Doctor once again clapped his hands together and said, “Well, done straight A plus for you Miss…” He then looked at the newspaper he was holding. Looking at a picture of Asami, along with the rest of Team Avatar. Describing them taking out another triad cell. He continued, “Asami, well done. I’ve only just heard of those terms on the newspaper that I was reading. If all of you are wondering why that is. That’s because my friends and I are from another universe. Separate from the ones that the Skrulls come from. Though they do remind me of the Zygons from my own universe. The shapeshifting…

Amy then interrupted her friend, “Doctor. You are starting to get off topic again.”

“Sorry.” The Doctor continued, “What I am trying to say is that my friends and I are trying to stop the Skrulls from conquering the Multiverse, along with my other selves and their respective friends. Though the first me is trying to track that Hyperion bloke and maybe some my other selves trying to…”

“Doctor.” Rory said, “You’re doing it again.”

Mako decided to speak up and say, “So, how can we be sure that you guys are not those Skrull things yourselves?

Bolin then spoke to his brother, “Mako. If those guys were Skrulls, they could have been a lot more sneaky in their disguises. Like, these aliens can change their forms. Then don’t you think that, oh I don’t know, like replace and take the form of someone we know.”

Doctor then spoke as he clapped his hands again, “Right on point Mr….” He looked again at the newspaper he was holding to see which member of Team Avatar was on point.

The Doctor then continued, “Bolin. You must be some sort of genius.”

“Actually I just read a lot these magazines full of stories that involve space, the Spirit World, and stuff like that.” Bolin explained.

“Still a genius!” The Doctor exclaimed.

Next to Bolin, his girlfriend Opal giggled at the Doctor’s exclamation. Bolin just blushed at the Doctor’s comment.

Korra then spoke, “Okay, so you three and these Skrulls are from a different universe. Do they have anything to do with the Day of Dust?”

The courtyard became silent. No one ever wanted to talk about that night.

“No.” The Doctor said somberly, “But I do know who caused it.”

The Eleventh Doctor then explained the cause of the Dusting to the residents of Earth-4444 how a madman named Thanos of Universe-199999 collected the Infinity Gems into the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe half of his universes population in fear of overpopulation. It not only effected his universe, but the entire multiverse.

But where there is still life, there is still hope. A group of remaining heroes from various of universes aided the heroes of Earth-199999 in restoring those that was lost and banished the Mad Titan to a place called the Phantom Zone. But a consequence of the uses of the Infinity Gauntlet, multi-dimensional travel became easier which meant otherworldly threats now came to the Avatar’s universe, but also heroes from other worlds as well.

As the Doctor finished his tale of heroism and hope, the most of the residents of Earth-4444 were agape by what the Time Lord had told them.

He then clapped his hands in excitement and said, “Any questions?”

Korra then spoke, “How did you know to come here? If you come from a different universe that is?”

The Doctor spoke, “Ah, well I landed the TARDIS, my time/space ship, she detected some strange activity not native to your universe. Signals that were made by the Skrulls. And judging what I’ve been able to gather from your universe you’ve got quite a lot of things going on here.”

“Well, if you mean Dr. Sheng being one of those Skrull things. Then yeah, I guess a lot has happened here.” Mako said, believing that was what the Doctor was referring to.

“Not just that.” The Doctor said, “In the last several years, various of events have affected you all, best exemplified by that.” The Doctor pointed at the new Spirit Portal that was in the middle of Republic City. “A portal that leads to another realm.”

Korra thought of her life during the last several years. From leaving her compound in the south pole, losing her connections to the previous Avatar, three years of recovery from Zaheer’s poison, and the beginning of her romantic relationship with Asami. She then said, “I guess the new portal best represents the changes to the world during my time as an active Avatar. But what does those changes have to do with these Skrulls?”

“Well, one thing I’d like to point out is that this Earth has just invented the equivalent of nukes.” The Doctor explained, his tone becoming serious now. “Mainly because of this man.” He pointed at Varrick.

The eccentric inventor then defended himself, “Hey, I was trying to find a cheap source of energy. Besides, if I had known of the destruction they could potentially cause, I would have never have continued on the project. Also Kuvira forced Zhu Li and I to continue on the project. And before you say that I worked with a despot, I regret working with her and have done everything I’ve can to atone for my actions. Also if you are from another… what do you call it? Universe, you say. Then how do you know so much about me.”

“Oh, that.” The Doctor said, his mood becoming slightly cheerful again, “The first thing we did when arriving in your universe was go to the local library and read all I can about the history of this Earth. And I got to say, it is quite fascinating. I mean, a 12 year old, okay 112 kid, ending a 100 year war and create peace for this world overall. That would make for a good story, maybe a cartoon.”

Mako, a little bit confused by the last word the Doctor spoke, then asked “How long were you at the city library?”

“Oh, for around a few hours.” The Doctor stated as if reading the entirety of the Republic City library was normal. Amy and Rory just rolled their eyes at the statement. Everyone else was shocked by it.

The Doctor then stated, “Though also, I read all of the scrolls at the library on this island as well. Very interesting culture you Airbender’s have.” Ignoring the shocked expressions of the people in front of him.

Rory then said, “Doctor you’re freaking these people out. Why don’t we go back to the eccentric inventor guy.”

The Doctor deciding to go back on point, then turned his attention back to Varrick, “Anyway, as I was saying before, let’s show them your true form.” The Doctor then picked from the front of his shirt the pocket watch and put it in front of Varrick. Everyone around them noticed that the watch had strange symbols on it. The Time Lord then opened it and yellow, glowing energy came from it.

After a moment of looking at the strange watch, Varrick said, “What is that supposed to do. Slowly blind me?”

The Doctor looked flabbergasted for a moment. He then said, “Sorry, thought you were a Skrull. The Chameleon Arc is meant revert Skrulls back to their natural form.”

Varrick, shocked, then said, “Why in the Spirit World did you think that? Wait, because I created the Spirit Bombs you think I am one of those things.”

“Well, yeah.” Rory said as if it was obvious.

The Doctor chimed in, “And also when we landed on this universe, the TARDIS did a bio-scan on this Earth that was tuned to Skrull DNA. And it detected that they had an agent on this island.” His tone now serious once again.

White Lotus Prison

It was in a cell, that the Skrull was contained in. Though the guards that were watching over it didn’t know the name of both his species and the individual. On the orders of both President Zhu-Li and Avatar Korra no word that whatever this thing was to come out to the general public.

In fact, both guards weren’t entirely sure whether that thing was contained based on what they saw in the final moments of the battle between its colleagues and Team Avatar, mainly that it can change its shape. All that the guards knew for certain was that thing was not a spirit. The door to the cell room then opened and a couple of White Lotus guards came in.

One guard then spoke, “Great that you guys are here. That freak is creeping me out.”

The apparent leader of the newly arrived guards then suddenly pulled a strange device from its robes and then a light went out of one end. It disintegrated the guard that called its prisoner a freak.

“What in the Spirit World!” The other guard yelled in shock, “Your one of…” But before he could complete his sentence, he too was disintegrated.

The group of White Lotus guards then shifted back into their true forms as Skrulls.

The Skrull that was imprisoned earlier then yelled, “Finally! Was wondering when you guys were going to show up.”

“We had to be careful. One of the Doctor’s are in this universe.” The leader of the group said.

The formerly imprisoned one said, “Is he or she in this prison then?”

“No.” The leader answered, “They are on Air Temple Island.”

“Then can’t we retrieve our agent that we assigned there.” The former prisoner said.

The leader then said, “Too risky. Besides we have more important things to worry about.”

The leader then immediately opened a portal and the Skrulls quickly left the White Lotus prison all together.

Air Temple Island

Several hours later

The Doctor once again pulled the chameleon arc in front of another Airbender. This was starting to get tiring. After using the arc on various of White Lotus, Air Acolytes, and others he was beginning to wonder whether the TARDIS bio-scan was correct. After all, when he borrowed the old Type 40 TARDIS, it wasn’t exactly in the best condition when he acquired it all those centuries ago.

“Are you sure that thing works?”

The Doctor turned around and saw Korra giving him a criticizing look.

“Positive. I tired it on the Skrulls in several universes already. But of course, my other selves and I have already busted their operations in several universes as well. Which probably means that they might have a way to avoid being exposed by the arch.” The Doctor explained to the Avatar.

Korra then said, “You think these Skrulls are after the Spirit Vines.”

“Yes, these vines do result in some easy to make nukes after all.” The Doctor said with grimace in his voice. “Not only that but one explosion was enough to create a portal to this Spirit World that I’ve heard about since got to this world. I have some pretty good ideas on what the Skrulls want to do with those vines.”

“Well, technically I was the one to create that portal.” Korra stated, “It was ether that or get blown up.”

“I understand. You did everything you could to take down Kuvira and protect your world against her tyranny.” The Doctor said in an understanding tone. “Judging from what I’ve read so far, you’ve been a good Avatar.”

Korra smiled, “Thanks. Though for most of my life I’ve always identified as being the Avatar first, and being a person second. Heck, I was kind of jerk at times as well because of that mentality. It took several lessons in humility to make me the person I am today.”

“By humility, you mean having your bending taken away temporarily, losing your connections to your past lives, and suffering from mercury poisoning for around three years.” The Doctor stated, “What, I read those papers as well.”

Korra looked at the Doctor being all defense and then continued, “Yes, though I now have a good life, with Asami, Mako, Bolin, and the others.” She then realized she told a total stranger about her life story, even if it was mostly well known.

Korra decided to press a bit on information on the Doctor, “What about you and your friends. I mean you have the ability to travel beyond the stars themselves.”

“I agree with you Korra. I would really like to know about how that TARDIS of that Doctor works.”

The Doctor and Korra looked and saw that the voice belonged to Kya, Tenzin’s older sister. She then said as she looked at the Time Lord, “I take that you are the Doctor that everyone has been talking about?”

“Yes, I am ma’am.” The Doctor introduced himself to Kya. “And you are?”

“Kya, Tenzin’s older sister.” The waterbender introduced herself. She then shook the Time Lord’s hand. “As I said, I’m very interested in your time machine. Must be fascinating to do that, but also to worlds that are beyond the Spirit World.”

“Well, you get used to it after doing so for at least a 1,000 years.” The Doctor said as if saying that was normal. Korra gasped a little at that statement but decided to let the Doctor continue. “How about I show you my ship.”

The Doctor then flicked his sonic screwdriver, the device glowing green and creating a buzzing noise as it did so. A second later, the TARDIS appeared in the center of the courtyard of Air Temple Island. The people that were their gasped and awed at what just happened. The Doctor then snapped his fingers and the doors to the time machine opened.

Amy then noticed and said, “Doctor, are you sure it’s a good idea to allow these people access to the TARDIS so soon? After all, we don’t know if some of them are Skrulls still.”

Kya, who was now a few feet away from the TARDIS, said, “Your assistant is right about that Time Lord.” Suddenly she motioned her arms and immediately afterwards, everyone in the courtyard fell on the ground. Kya then changed to the form of a Skrull.

The Skrull that was Kya laughed manically, clearly enjoying the suffering that she was causing around her. “You’re pathetic Doctor. You and your other selves were able to ruin our plans on several other universes. But I am able to access your TARDIS because you invited me. How pathetic.”

Rory, who was forcefully on the ground alongside his wife, muttered, “How are you doing this?”

“Bloodbending. A very advanced form of waterbending.” ‘Kya’ arrogantly stated.

“Oh, I get it. Waterbending controls not just water, but all types of liquids. Even the fluids from living beings. How disgustingly wrong.” The Doctor said, distain in his voice.

“Correct Time Lord. Though I wonder what’ll happen if all of the fluids from your body are removed. Will it trigger a regeneration or will you just die!” ‘Kya’ said with sadism. She used her blood bending to lift the Doctor up towards her.

‘Kya’ then gloated, “Oh, before any of you ask that it is impossible for me to bloodbend in broad daylight. We Skrulls are good with genetic tampering, meaning for your primitive mindset we can make ourselves the most powerful type of benders imaginable. As for you Doctor, I’ll take you to my bosses using your TARDIS. Oh, imagine the awards and honors I’ll get for not only destroying you. But also making the Skrull Empire great again.”

‘Kya’ then walked into the TARDIS. But as soon as she was a few feet inside it, a strange energy zapped her. Immediately knocking the Skrull unconscious.

Everyone in the courtyard then got up.

Asami ran to Korra and hugged her. The Avatar then said, “What in the Spirit World happened?”

“Oh, that.” The Doctor said, about to explain something casually, “I made sure the TARDIS’s temporal grace will not only disable weapons, but tuned it to Skrull DNA and knock them unconscious if any of them try to enter my ship. Now that we caught the guy, or gal in this case, I’m absolutely dying for fish and cream custard. Does this Earth have those dishes?”

The rest of those in the courtyard, besides Amy and Rory who were used to such explanations, just nodded in confusion. For some reason, they knew it was the most simple explanation they were going to get.

A couple of hours went by when the Skrull, named Lira’la, woke up by some noise. She opened her eyes and saw the meddling Time Lord called the Doctor, along with his two assistants, the male one looked a lot like one of her bosses. The others were the people that she had become aquatinted with over the last several years as Kya.

“Where is my sister!”

Lira’la recognized the voice as belonging to Kya’s younger brother, Bumi. Clearly wanting some answers of where the real Kya was.

She then, once she fully regained conscious, said, “Well, probably in another universe entirely. Honestly I can’t be sure. Especially after the incident on Earth-1, we had make sure that the local heroes can’t find them once they capture an agent of ours.”

“What?” Bumi responded in confusion.

The Doctor replied to Bumi’s confusion, “Another setback I take it. Caused by me.”

Lira’la replied to her enemy, “Yes, the cheeky blond one.”

The Doctor not wanting to distract from the situation at hand, then said, “Good to know that, but I’d like to know. Why are you on this Earth?”

“As if I’ll tell you?” Lira’la said smugly.

“Oh, I think I have a good idea. It has something to do with those Spirit Vines. After all, with only one, you can make the equivalent of a Hiroshima Atom Bomb. That is judging by the crater created from the recent battle of Republic City. Not only that, but it was able to create a portal to another realm entirely.” The Doctor stated on what he knew about the Spirit Bombs so far.

Lira’la just remained silent.

The Doctor still had that infuriating smile, she found annoying especially for this version. He then continued, “But why go to brainwashing? I mean, the bombs I get. You want your bosses to have powerful weapons. But brainwashing. Why did you want to rig an election? What for? Also why impersonate this woman?”

Bumi then demanded an answer as well, “Also, where is my sister still?! If you killed her I swear by the Spirits…!”

The Skrull then spoke, “We haven’t killed your sister Bumi.”

Bolin responded to the captive, “Yeah. Well, how do you know your not lying then. After all, if I was an evil shapeshifter I would kill the person I was trying to impersonate.”

“You humans are so narrow minded.” Lira’la arrogantly stated.

“What is that supposed to mean?” Mako said. He produced a flame on his right hand. Ready to get the information out of the alien.

The Doctor then added, “She means that Kya, the real one, is still alive.”

“How do you know for sure?” Tenzin said, “While I don’t watch movers that much, even I have to agree with Bolin.”

Rory then chimed in, “Ah, but you see. I’m also a watcher of sci-fi movies, which I guess is what you call movers in my world. But also we’ve stopped the Skrulls operations in several universes already and what we’ve discovered is that they have a machine that can transplant a person’s memories onto their agents. So they won’t slip up on something.”

Amy then muttered, “The Doctor’s right. The Skrulls are like the Zygons.”

Lira’la then laughed sadistically, “I’ll give you one thing. Your pet’s are more intelligent then we give them credit for.”

Amy and Rory scowled at the Skrull, but they didn’t say anything.

Lira’la then continued, “But still why would I tell you lower lifeforms and a Time Lord anything else. Besides you people seem to be good detectives, especially with him at your side.”

The Doctor smiled, “I feel faltered.” It wasn’t a friendly smile.

“Though I think we’ve evened the score now that we have captured a key ally  of yours Doctor.” Lira’la smugly said. Hoping to rub salt in the Doctor’s metaphorical wound.

“Who?”, The Doctor said, his tone now aggressive.

Lira’la said, “Don’t know who they are. All my bosses will say is that it’s someone you know.”

Korra finally decided to talk, “Well, I think your lying. And we are going to get the information out of you.” She did a brief, but impressive, display of bending all four elements. Showing the Skrull that she meant business.

The other members of Team Avatar showed off their abilities to show that they meant business as well. Asami letting the electricity of her shock glove fly around her. Mako and Bolin showing off their fire and lava bending skills respectively. Even Opal and Jinora, trained to be pacifists in their airbending, were showing their skills and powers.

Tenzin gave his daughter a stern look and said, “Jinora, you’ve been trained to use your bending peacefully. Even if it’s against someone like her.” He then faced the Skrull. “How long have you been impersonating my sister?”

Lira’la then said simply, “Since Jinora became an Airbending Master.”

“But that was before the Age of Dust.” Tenzin said, now slightly confused. The other residents of Earth-4444 were also confused as well.

“They have access to time travel. Though not as advanced as my TARDIS.” The Doctor stated. “Which you got from your bosses. So who are they?”

“They gave us so much potential.” Lira’la said, beginning to gloat again, “To rebuild our Empire and extend it across the multiverse. Too bad I won’t get to see it, in it’s new glory.”

“What do you mea…”

But before the Doctor could finish his sentence, the Skrull then suddenly pressed something between her teeth. Then she began having a seizure and foam coming from out of her mouth.

Rory, having seen plenty of films, yelled, “She’s using some type of cyanid pill or whatever the Skrull equivalent is! Doctor do you have something that can stop this!”

The Doctor responded, “They’re not from our universe! Skrull biology and poisons are not my thing!”

As suddenly it began, Lira’la lay motionless after seizing for a few minutes. She was dead.

The Doctor had pondered for around an hour on what to do now. Pacing back and forth under the gazebo that had a view of Yue Bay and most of Republic City, which included the Spirit Portal. It was sunset now, causing the portal to shine even more beautifully in the sky.

Tenzin and Bumi decided to walk up to the Time Lord. But the Doctor noticed the two airbenders walking towards them.

“Ah, coming to check up on me. I haven’t got a plan yet. But I’ll tell you if I do.” The Doctor stated.

“Well, thanks.” Bumi said, “I hope we can find Kya before those Skrulls do any harm to them. Especially now that we caught the agent that was posing as her.”

The Doctor stared at Bumi for a moment and then said, “You’re a military man, or used to be.”

Bumi responded, “Oh, you’ve read my history as well.”

“A little bit, but it’s mainly your posture. Stiff and conformed.” The Doctor explained, “Also your tendency to joke around. I have met several veterans who have that same sort of personality, mainly so they can move on from whatever they did in the service.”

“When I was a part of the United Forces, I didn’t do anything like what you are implying.” Bumi said, a slight frown now on his face.

“I’m not accusing you of doing anything like that.” The Doctor reassured the airbender. “Sorry, I’m just on edge.”

Bumi responded, “Well, so am I. My sister turned out to be an alien for several years and the real one is spirits knows where.”

“We’ll find her. You have my word on that.” The Doctor said, hoping to reassure Bumi.

Tenzin then spoke, “You seem to be a capable young man, who knows what he’s doing.”

“Young. I’m flattered that you call me that. Though I am actually 1100 years old.” The Doctor stated.

Both airbenders yelled, “What?!”

“But I could be younger and older than I think. After all, living in a time machine, a clock and calendar are useless to you.” The Doctor explained. “Must be in the four digits by now? But anyway, you’re here to talk about the Skrulls.”

Tenzin spoke, “Yes, everyone wants to find Kya and hope that no one else was taken by the aliens.”

“Oh, I’m sure that there are several more agents of theirs on this Earth. Besides, this place has great potential.” The Doctor stated. “Especially the people here.”

“What do you mean by that?” Bumi said.

“Humanity has a lot of potential to become something truly great. Despite some hiccups like the 100 Years War, the Equalist Uprising, and the Earth Empire, you guys were able to create and maintain something wonderful. While you still problems on your world, but your also in the right direction.” The Doctor explained.

“I suppose you’re right Doctor.” Tenzin said, “Especially since Korra’s time as Avatar has changed the world in more ways then I could have possibly imagined. I just don’t want to see her getting hurt by those things, especially with Sheng being one of them.”

“I heard what that mad scientist did to Korra’s friends.” The Doctor said with a compassionate understanding, “Believe me, I understand your concerns. I was a father, grandfather, and, heck, even a great-grandfather. Plus the numerous of companions that I have traveled with over the centuries of my many lives. I worry about all of them when I traveled with each of them.”

“I see. So I take that you had more friends than just Amy and Rory?” Bumi said in confirmation.

“Plenty. More than plenty.” The Doctor stated. “But I shall talk about my companions some other time. Right now, I need to find out where the Skrulls are going to do next.”

“I might have one idea.” Tenzin said, “The Spirit Swamp. It has the largest concentration of Spirit Vines that I am aware of.”

The Doctor then said, “I see, very well I can just get back to my TARDIS and hop on over there. We just have to be sneaky and…”

But the Time Lord interrupted by Bumi, “I’ve got a better idea. We could use Jinora’s spirit projection.”

“Spirit what now?” The Doctor responded.

Tenzin sighed, “What my brother means is that my daughter, Jinora. She has a greater connection to the Spirit World and as a result, has the ability to project herself out of her body and elsewhere. Be it the human or spirit world.”

“Oh, I understand what you’re getting at. We can use your daughters spirit projection thingy to do a recon on the Skrulls.” The Doctor’s face then turned to a childlike glee, “Brilliant. So Brilliant. You two are geniuses!” He then ran off to find Amy, Rory, and Team Avatar, with Tenzin and Bumi following him.

In the dinning hall, the other two time-travelers were sitting down after selecting their meals. Mainly consisting of vegetables, fruits, and rice

Amy and Rory were in the middle of their dinner, when a voice said, “Are you fine with us sharing your table.”

Both companions looked up and saw that it was Avatar Korra (did she have a last name?) and the young beautiful CEO of Future Industries. The voice coming from young CEO.

“Of course. It would be nice to get know you two more personally.” Amy politely greeted the two.

The Avatar and the young CEO sat down from across the time traveling couple.

Asami then spoke, “So, I am curious about you two along with your friend? Mainly that time machine of yours.”

“The TARDIS. Well, um, I don’t know where to begin. The Raggedy Man and his Blue Box have been a part of my life since I was a kid.” Amy said, confusing the Avatar and her girlfriend.

Rory then spoke up, “What my wife is trying to say is that, um, exactly what she said. Our lives have been very complicated.”

All four of them then laughed.

“So I take it that your adventures in that… Tardy Box? Weird name for, well, anything.” Korra said.

“It’s TARDIS, and it stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. At least that what the Doctor says.” Rory informed them.

Korra then stated, “Okay, still a weird name.”

They all then laughed at the Avatar’s statement.

Korra continued, “Still, your adventures in that TARDIS thingy of yours must be very exciting.”

Asami was curious about a sentence that Amy said. “What do you mean a part of your life since you were a kid? You mean this Doctor guy is a childhood friend of yours.”

“Well, kind of. You see the Doctor is a Time Lord, not human like me, Rory, or you two.” Amy informed the two. “One night, when I was a little girl his TARDIS crashed into my garden. He fixed a crack in my room that was threatening to destroy our native universe. Well, to make a long story incredibly short, we saved the universe and we’ve never stopped running on our adventures.”

“Well, those adventures of yours must have been exciting.” Korra stated.

“They certainly were. But we’ll have to save the stories for a later time.” The voice came from the Doctor, with Tenzin and Bumi behind him. The Doctor saw who he was looking for.

He then went to where Jinora was sitting. Who was eating dinner alongside the rest of her family.

The Doctor then said to Tenzin’s wife Pema, “Hi. Mrs. Tenzin, er…” He then turned to Tenzin. “Do people in your world have last names?” He quickly turned back to the rest of Tenzin’s family. “I just came up with a brilliant idea.” The Doctor then pointed to Jinora. “You have Spirit Projection thing that can transport you anywhere.”

Jinora simply nodded.

“We can use it to scout where the Skrulls are. And I think I know where they are.” The Doctor proudly stated.

“Are you okay this idea?” Korra said, having concern over Jinora’s well being.

“We’ve talked to the Doctor about this Korra. Besides, we don’t have a better idea.” Jinora said.

Pema sighed, “Just be careful sweetie.”

“I will Mom.” Jinora replied. She then closed her eyes.

When Jinora opened them again, she saw that her surroundings have changed into a place she had been to before. The Spirit Swamp.

She quickly made sure that no one could see her. Since while spirit projecting, people could still her spirit form. Jinora then heard some noises and went to its source.

After stealthily moving through the swamp, Jinora saw a base filled with advanced technology and Skrulls walking where humans should be. The aliens looked they harvesting the vines from the swamp. Not too dissimilar to what Kuvira was doing not too long ago.

At first, Jinora was curious why the Spirits weren’t lashing out to the rest of the human world like when Kuvira’s army harvested those same vines. The answer was delivered right to her.

Jinora heard a Skrull yell to one of its lackeys, “Now remember make to one of your spells when we harvest those vines. Otherwise those spirits or whatever the people here call them will most likely lash out at us.”

Jinora then saw another Skrull mutter words that she couldn’t recognize as the vines were being harvested. She realized that whatever that Skrull was saying must be preventing the spirits from attacking them.

She heard another Skrull say, “Open the portal to Earth-702. I need to check the process on the brain-washing. As well as our prisoners there.” Jinora recognized the voice belonging to Dr. Sheng (or whatever her, or it’s, real name was), the mad scientist that brainwashed most of Team Avatar.

“Right away ma’am.” Sheng’s subordinate obeyed. The Skrull then opened a blue portal. Both Skrull’s entered it, with Jinora following suit.

Earth-702

Jinora then saw, once she was on the other side of the portal, was a quaint small town. She then snuck around as she followed Sheng, still in her Skrull form. One thing that struck out to the young airbending master was the humans of this place were seemingly going about their day, paying no attention to the two Skrulls.

At first, Jinora thought that the people here were used to the Skrulls. That was she got a good look one of their faces. It was a blank stare, along with eyes of dark violet. Jinora knew that was unnatural, even if she was in an alternate reality.

Jinora saw that Sheng and her assistant entering a large building, which Jinora assumed the town hall or whatever it was called in this universe. Phasing through the walls of the building, she continued following the mad scientist and her colleague.

Sneakily, Jinora followed them down in what she assumed was the basement of the building. Instead of finding what you would expect from a town hall basement. With stack and stacks of files, what Jinora saw was of what she typically find from an army base that her Uncle Bumi toured her and her siblings back when he was still a part of the United Forces.

Jinora had to be even more careful down there, their were a lot of Skrulls. Jinora saw humans in the base as well, but with the same blank stare and dark purple eyes as above. She assumed here they nothing but a slave cast. She even saw one human carrying a tray of food rectifying that theory. In trying to prevent from being seen by the Skrulls, she lost track of Sheng. Mainly because their were so many of them that it was easy to lose track of the mad scientist.

In fact, in order to avoid being seen, Jinora went through a wall and into a laboratory. What she saw what looked like a blue human with red hair being contained by some kind of energy field. She saw two Skrulls scientists and a couple of humans preforming experiments on the blue human.

“Send another pulse, this time stronger.” One of the Skrulls said. One of the humans obeyed, moving a switch which sent some type of energy to the blue human, who howled in pain.

The scientist then said, “Subject: Replicon of Earth-199596 seems to show a pain threshold even greater than any normal Skrull.”

His assistant then said, “It’s a good thing that we were able to secure the Bio-Borg here before the Skysurfer Strikeforce raided the base we had in his native universe.”

“Not only them, but their allies, Ben 10 and one of the Doctors.” The scientist stated.

The assistant then said, “I thought he was native to Earth-192? After all, he alongside that Paradox guy, are the reason why our invasion of that reality failed. Now a friend of mine is stuck in that universe without any powers.”

The scientist then said, “Well whatever those two did to alter the reality of that universe to make them powerless caused Mr. Tennyson to cease to exist in his native universe. But somehow, it caused him to end up on Earth-199596. From what I heard he’s even more powerful in that universe.”

“What do you mean…” The assistant asked, but Jinora left before she could hear the sentence be completed. She heard enough from those two.

She wandered into the next room and almost gasped when she saw it was the corpse of a man. He appeared to be middle-aged, with graying temples on his head and was dressed in a blue tunic and black pants.

Jinora heard voices coming into the room.

“Any progress on the autopsy of the Doctor Strange of Earth-92131.”

Jinora quickly left the room and into the next one before she heard any more voices. After running through several rooms, she stopped to think on what she just saw. She never saw a corpse before and obliviously for a young girl of her age, if she was back in her physical body, Jinora would have gaged.

“Jinora, is that you?”

It was a voice she recognized. Her Aunt Kya. The young airbending master yelled her aunt’s in relief. She saw that another person in the cell that contained the real Kya. Jinora couldn’t get a good look at her at the moment other than the fact that she had frizzy blond hair.

Jinora then asked, “Wait, what was the last time that you saw me?”

Kya responded, “The last time I saw you Jinora was during your initiation into an airbending master.” Which was on par with what the Skrull agent said.

Tears of joy began forming in Jinora’s eyes. It was the real Kya then asked her aunt, “Do you know where you are Aunt Kya? I know it’s on Earth-702 but I don’t know where exactly.”

Kya then said, “I overheard the Skrulls call this town Point Place. Wait, how did you project your spirit here. And how do you know about these parallel universes.”

Jinora replied, “Well, this man called the Doctor and his friend arrived after Korra and her friends found one of the Skrulls in our universe.”

“Wait, did you say the Doctor.” The voice came from Kya’s cellmate.

“Yeah. Aunt Kya, can we trust this woman?” Jinora asked.

Kya nodded to confirm yes.

The woman continued, “What did the Doctor look like?”

Jinora gave her description, “Young, wears tweed…”

“Good.” The woman said with excitement. “Tell the Doctor that I’m here as well. He knows me now.”

Jinora, now slightly confused, asked, “It’s good that you know the Doctor miss. But who are you?”

The woman then introduced herself, “My name is Professor River Song, Archeology.”

Notes:

That’s a warp my fans. Well for now at least.

Not much else to write in the AN.

Other than, yes, it’s that River Song. Her appearances in her own timeline take place rather late. Not gonna say to when exactly in terms of TV appearances. But I will say that several solo Big Finish adventures have already happened (mainly in the Diary of River Song series and Eighth Doctor story arc Doom Coalition).

All and all, you know my farewell. Tofa and keep up the good work.

Chapter 3: A Nice Retreat to Point Place

Notes:

Sorry for the long wait. But RL stuff can be very distracting at times.

Anyway, on with the show.

Chapter Text

Earth-4444

Air Temple Island

A half hour or so had passed when Jinora’s spirit returned to her body. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief that the young airbender was okay and seemed to be fine. Tenzin and Pema went to hug their daughter.

“Glad to see your alright.” Pema said to her daughter with motherly love.

“Did you find Kya?” Tenzin said with concern for his sister.

Jinora answered, “I did. She is alive and is being held captive by the Skrulls in a building in another world.” She then turned to the Doctor. “But also someone else is in the cell with her. She said she knows you Doctor. She called herself River Song.”

Bolin suddenly spoke up, “Hold on. You went to another world!”

Jinora continued, “Yes, the Skrulls in the Spirit Swamp opened a portal to a town called Point Place.”

“Wait a minute. You’re saying that you met River.” The Doctor said with worry in his voice.

“Yes, she claimed to be your wife.” Jinora stated, “Oh, she said to tell you this Doctor.” Jinora was at first, a little reluctant to say it. But she soon said it. “‘Hello, sweetie.’ River said that it was to make sure that you knew it was her and not a Skrull.”

Amy and Rory then became aghast that their own daughter was now a prisoner of the Skrulls.

The Doctor then said, “Yep, that’s my wife alright.”

“Your wife?” Mako said in some confusion.

“Yep, married her in a place where all of time happened at once. Immediately afterwards was my own funeral.” The Doctor said with a straight face.

The residents of Earth-4444 were shocked that the Time Lord still sounded sane after saying that. “I’m sorry, can you repeat that.” Tenzin said, this day was getting more and more crazy.

The Doctor continued speaking to Jinora, “Where did you say that River and your Aunt are being held?”

“Aunt Kya told me that she and River are being held in the town hall of Point Place.” Jinora stated. “But the people of that town have been brainwashed by the Skrulls. River says that the government of that town used chemicals in the food to brainwash the people there. But the Skrulls have taken control of it.”

“Did they tell you the designation of the Earth that they are on?” The Doctor asked.

“Actually I got it from Sheng. Well, she told her assistant to go to Earth-702.” Jinora explained. “I snuck behind them when they opened the portal to Point Place.”

“So the Skrulls have taken control of an Earth.” The Doctor stated, grimness in his voice, “Not good. Not good at all. With the resources on that Earth, plus resources that they got from other Earths, who knows how powerful they’ll be there. I guess the only thing I should be thankful for is that those Skrulls aren’t responsible for the anti-matter wave that has destroyed a couple of universes.”

Both Amy and Rory yelled, “WHAT!?!”

The residents of Earth-4444 were once again confused by the words from all three time travelers.

Amy then said to the people of Earth-4444, “Sorry about this guys. My husband and I need to talk to Raggedy Man now.”

The travelers soon went into a nearby building and immediately shut the door.

Mako spoke first after that awkward sentence, “Raggedy Man?”

Asami spoke up, “A nickname from Amy’s childhood. Apparently the Doctor is immortal and knew Amy and Rory since they were both kids.” She then rubbed her temples, “Yes, I know how crazy that sounds, but that’s what Amy told me and Korra.”

Korra nodded to confirm that her girlfriend wasn’t just making stuff up.

“Man, this day has gotten crazier and crazier. Still, I hope when this is done, our lives will go back to normal.” Bolin said, hoping to bring some positivity.

Mako then said to his brother, “Our lives are not exactly normal Bolin.”

Bolin tried to counter his older brother, “I… I guess your right. At least back to our normal.”

But for both brothers, and the rest of Team Avatar, normal by their standards will not be coming back anytime soon.

Amy and Rory made sure that they were alone with the Doctor.

Rory was the first to speak, “Doctor, what do you mean by an anti-matter wave that has destroyed several worlds?”

The Doctor sighed and said, “I should have told you two sooner. But with Skrulls trying to take over the Multiverse, I guess I was too scattered brained to tell you guys.”

“Well, tell us now. We promised not to keep secrets from each other.” Amy said sternly.

The Doctor began to explain, “Remember when we landed on Earth-1989, but I told you to stay in the TARDIS?”

The couple nodded.

“Well, I told you that the Skrulls there were taken care of by the local heroes. I was told that by my Eighth incarnation.”

“Wait. So your telling us that the one that looks like Oscar Wilde is also trying to stop the Skrulls as well.” Rory said, asking if he heard that right.

“Along with my Third and Seventh selves.” The Eleventh Doctor stated, “New memories are beginning to form in my head. I’m not the only Doctor in the Multiverse. But also more Doctors are doing other things throughout the Multiverse. My First incarnation is tracking down a version of Hyperion for example.”

“So all of your incarnations are having Multiversal fun. Brilliant, more timey-wimey mischief.” Amy said, sarcastically.

“But there’s more.” The Doctor continued, “I’m also beginning to have new memories of companions I didn’t have before. When I entered the Batcave on Earth-1989, my Eighth self had two new companions I didn’t recall having at first.”

“What were their names?” Rory asked, now with curiosity inside him.

The Doctor continued, “Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers. But when I, I mean me me, first saw them with my eighth self. I told them that I didn’t recall ever traveling with them. But ever since that encounter, I now recall having new adventures with them. Not just on Earth-1989, but also 1985, 83, 110521, and various other Earths. It’s as if I get these new memories as they are happening.”

“But what does two new companions have to do with anti-matter?” Amy asked.

“A wave of it destroyed their home universe.” The Doctor stated rather grimly.

“Oh, so not only do we have a group of villains with shapeshifting henchmen. We also have the literal destruction of everything.” Rory said, hoping in some small way that it wasn’t true.

“I’m afraid it is true Rory.” The Doctor continued, “But also new memories and companions are not just popping up in my eighth body. My fourth incarnation is with Romana traveling throughout the Multiverse alongside K-9 and Stephanie to stop a version of Rick Sanchez from causing more chaos throughout the Multiverse. My second body is with Jamie and Zoe, while my fifth body is with Nyssa, Tegan, and William. Both Two and Five are trying to stop an alliance of various versions of the Cybermen from taking over the Multiverse as well. And my previous body is with Jessica, Marty, and Jennifer to detect random changes caused by… her.”

Amy and Rory wondered who the her was that their Doctor was referring to, along with most of the other names that were mentioned, but decided not to press on it for now.

“My timeline is now in flux. And I really don’t know how these Multiversal shenanigans will end for all of us.” The Doctor said, the heaviness in his voice telling his two companions that he was 100% serious.

Amy then said trying to reassure her Raggedy Man, “Let’s do this one step at a time Doctor. First, we free River and Kya from the Skrulls and hopefully liberate Earth-702 as well. Second… hopefully stop the Skrulls from taking over the Multiverse along with your other selves.”

“You’re right Pond. One step at a time.” The Doctor said, now having calmed down. Even if slightly.

Avatar Korra and her friends were sitting in the courtyard of the temple. Waiting for the Doctor and his companions to finish whatever conversation they were having.

Varrick and Zhu-Li had left the island to have a secret meeting with the government of the United Republic, in order to inform the rest of them of the Skrull threat and to find a way to uncover the shapeshifters. The Doctor gave them a Chameleon Arch, just in case one of the government workers turned out to be green.

“I’m bored!” Tenzin’s son, Meelo, impulsively yelled out his emotions.

Tenzin calmly told his son, “Be polite Meelo, we…”

The Airbending Master’s sentence was interrupted by the Doctor and his two companions exiting the building. The residents of Earth-4444 noticed that the time-traveling trio were a bit nervous when coming out of the janitorial shed.

Asami asked, “Is everything alright?”

“It’s fine.” The Doctor said, “Everything is okey-dokee. Right Ponds?”

“Did you just say okey-dokee?” Rory asked in slight confusion.

“Yeah, using a century of the same slang does get boring eventually.” The Doctor defended.

Korra, having doubt in what the Time Lord was saying, said, “You said that something destroyed several universes. I may not be a super-genius like you Doctor. But I have handled, to be frank, a lot.”

The Doctor said, “Yes, however it is being handled by my friends. Other friends. That’s what I was explaining to the Ponds.” He then motioned to his companions. “Right?”

“Yeah.” Rory said with the best poker face he could muster. “The Doctor said to us that everything will be alright.”

Amy then said with the same poker face as her husband, “Yes, okey-dokee.”

For both companions, while they have learned many good things since traveling with the Doctor. Lying had become a bit disturbingly easy for them.

Amy and Rory were helping the residents of Earth-4444 on preparing to attack the Skrull base on Earth-702. Mainly by giving them a scanner that allowed someone to detect a Skrull, no matter the form. As well as explaining to various people, mainly White Lotus guards, on how the scanner works.

The time-traveling couple had just finished telling a group of White Lotus guards how to use the scanners when Korra and Asami walked up to them.

“Hey Amy. Hey Rory.” Korra greeted the two.

Asami followed suit with a simple wave and smiled.

Rory greeted them, “Hello Korra and Asami. Why are you two here? We already taught you on how to use the Skrull scanner.”

“Well it’s just…” The Avatar paused for a moment. As if trying to come up with the right words. She continued, “I know this couple. And they were asking advice from you guys on any relationship advice.” Korra eyes darting back and fourth, as if making sure that no one else was overhearing it.

Amy responded, “Is it Opal and Bolin? Because they’re all goggly eyed towards each other. Plus super cute as well.”

“No.” Asami responded, “It’s this other couple. They are very secretive about their relationship, they’re afraid that others won’t approve.”

Rory, having a good idea on who this couple might be, said in a low voice, “And I take that this couple you’re referring to are you two.”

Korra and Asami both blushed, but at the same time felt a sense of worry. What if these two time travelers were not tolerant of their type of relationship.

Amy then spoke, “Relax girls. Were not going to out you two.” She then lowered her voice to almost a whisper, “Though it's probably best that we speak somewhere private. Do you know another good place on this island? I mean, that shed was private. But was kind of cramped.”

A few minutes later, Korra and Asami lead Amy and Rory to the Avatar’s room whenever she was staying on Air Temple Island. While it didn’t have a lock, it was private enough to have a personal conversation in.

Asami spoke first, “Okay, you know about me and Korra being… ummm… more than friends. What gave it away?”

“Well, it’s just the way you two look at each other for one.” Amy explained, “It reminds me of the way Rory looks at me since we first developed feelings for each other.”

Rory then spoke, “Also, it’s just that when you first approached us. The way that you walked next to each other. You were holding your hands all lovey-duvey. When you have been traveling in time and space for around a decade, you tend to notice those things.”

“Ohh.” Korra said as she blushed. Asami was blushing as well. The Avatar continued, “Anyway, since this is on par with you in terms of unusualness. Just… How do you guys handle being married, while dealing with all this time travel and Multiverse stuff?”

Amy explained, “Well first, being gay is totally okay with us. And most of the people in our time and universe are cool with that stuff as well.”

“Most?” Asami asked.

“Well, there are a few people that are still stubborn bigots.” Rory explained, a twinge of disgust in his voice apparent.

“Wish it was that way with most people were tolerate of our relationship.” Korra said, “Well, our closet friends and family know. And they were pretty fine with my relationship with Asami.” The Avatar then sighed. “But, when we told my parents about us being together. While they were accepting of us, they also told me to be careful. At first I was mad at them, because I thought they were disappointed in me dating a girl. But now I realize that our relationship if ever public, could, well… maybe make our lives more difficult. Being the Avatar, I can’t exactly have a normal life.”

Rory asked, “Then why don’t you quit being this Avatar and live happily ever after? By what we have read so far, you have done a lot for your world.”

Korra sighed and said, “Being the Avatar is something I was born with. How do I explain it to you guys. It’s… umm…” She tried to find the right words, since for a resident of Earth-4444, the Avatar as a position, title, and power were a part of history since it began on this world.

Asami stepped in, “The Avatar is a part of a reincarnation cycle. She or he is the one that’s supposed to bring balance to the world since history began. Korra is the Avatar simply for being born at the same time when Aang, the previous Avatar, died.”

“Oh, I think I get it. The Avatar is a superhero version of the Dalai Lama, with a mix of some type of regeneration.” Amy stated.

“What do you mean regeneration?” Korra asked.

Rory explained based on what the Doctor told him on regeneration, “You see, as we told you guys before. The Doctor can live for centuries. But also, he’s told us that he can change his body through a thing he calls regeneration. Whenever his species dies, called Time Lords by the way, they literally change their bodies with a physical appearance and personality change.”

Both the Avatar and the young CEO of Future Industries were beginning to wonder if the Doctor was the counterpart to the Avatar Cycle, wherever he was from.

Korra then said, “That is… very interesting.” Not knowing how to respond to this new knowledge. “Anyway, but how do you cope with all of the time-traveling and Multiverse stuff? I mean it can’t be easy for you two being in a relationship.”

“Not exactly easy, I’ll give you that.” Amy said, “But it’s worth it in the end, especially if your husband guards your tomb for two thousand years.”

“What?!” Korra and Asami yelled in shock and confusion by that statement.

Amy continued, “Yeah, Rory was wiped from existence after he was killed by a Silurian and I forgot about him for a bit. Then, he became a plastic dummy and killed me.”

Both Avatar and Asami were even more baffled.

Rory then spoke, “Look, we were both overwhelmed at first, like you two and your friends are. But you get used to it after a decade of living in the TARDIS. What my wife just told you and Asami is true. I put Amy in the Pandorica, this thing meant to imprison the Doctor, created by his enemies to prevent the universe from ending. Long story on that bit. But, to oversimplify things, since I was a plastic mannequin, I looked after Amy for a period of around two thousand years while the Doctor jumped ahead in time when Amy woke up. I had to go the long way, the slow path as the Doctor calls it. During the time I waited for Amy to become better, I became Emperor of Rome, a Knight of Camelot, and a security guard at the National Museum.”

Korra and Asami guessed that the titles that Rory just mentioned must be important, though both questioned why a museum security guard is an important title. Oh well, guess that means something different in Amy and Rory’s Earth.

Rory continued, “Anyway, the Pandorica was able to revive Amy, we saved River from the exploding TARDIS, and the Doctor was able to reboot the universe. Then Amy and I got married and we all celebrated.”

“Wow.” Asami said in disbelief, “That’s a lot to take in. But who’s River Song? She’s the Doctor’s wife, right?”

“And our daughter.” Amy informed Korra and Asami.

“Did I hear that right? River Song is your daughter?” Korra said in both confusion and even more disbelief as well. Since Jinora, told them that River was (at least physically) around Amy and Rory’s age.

“That’s what I heard as well.” Asami said, having the same reaction. “Okay, what in the Spirit’s name is going on with you three. I mean, first you two claim that this Doctor guy is a time traveler, an immortal, and can change his appearance when he dies.” Asami then pointed at Rory. “You claim to be two thousand years old, and that you once died.” She then pointed to Amy. “You are the only one that is close to normal. Unless you guys have anything else to say.”

“Well, I could tell you the time that I swapped bodies with the Doctor, the time that I became a wooden doll, or the time that I met a cynical older version of me from a defunct future.” Amy said, nonchalantly. “But that’s besides the point. The point is that both Rory and I, our lives haven’t been normal since we were kids and met the Raggedy Man.” The red-haired Scot then sighed. “As for River, what Jinora described is true. In fact when I first met her, from my perspective, I didn’t know her as my daughter, it was as some associate of the Doctor. And all three of us found out at the same time that she was mine and Rory’s daughter.”

“What do you mean by that?” Korra asked, now even more confused.

Amy then explained, “After the Doctor rebooted our universe and Rory and I got married. I was kidnapped by a religious cult called the Silence. They wanted to get back at the Doctor for something he hadn’t even done yet. They did it through me and River. I planned to call her Melody.”

Tears were beginning to form around Amy’s eyes. Rory went over to hug his wife. Amy remembered the traumatic memory of waking up on Demon’s Run after she, her husband, and the Doctor realized that her mind was inside a physical copy called a Ganger. Then being forced to give birth to her daughter, Melody, by the Silence and being separated from her.

Amy, Rory, and the Doctor tried to get Melody back from the Silence, which included the Doctor forming an army from a lot of favors. In the end, it wasn’t enough. The Silence had taken Melody away from them and trained her to be their weapon. Then after the battle was lost, River appeared and told them that she is Amy and Rory’s daughter.

After both time-traveling wife and husband told Korra and Asami about what happened at Demon’s Run, the Avatar then said, “Wow, I’ve heard a couple of sad stories. But yours is… I don’t know how to describe it.”

Amy, who by now had contained her emotions, said, “I know. When we told Rory’s dad, Brain, about this, he had the same reaction as well.”

“Wait. If this Silence group wanted River to become some sort of assassin. Then how come you guys treat her as an ally?” Asami asked.

Rory then explained, “Well, first of all. If you and your girlfriend haven’t caught on, the Doctor, and us by an extension, and River meet in different orders. The Doctor claims to have first known about River during his previous incarnation. In fact, we later found out she was a childhood friend of ours and…”

Amy interrupted her husband, “Let’s just cut to the chase. To make a long and complicated story incredibly short and oversimplified, we convinced River to not kill the Doctor and become our ally.”

“Really that easily.” Korra said, a little perplexed.

“Well, the Doctor did have to fake his own death.” Rory explained.

“Okay.” Asami said simply. Not wanting any further elaboration. She then said, “Still, I want to know how you two can handle being both time and multiverse travelers? Especially after what happened with River.”

Amy sighed and then said, “Well, you see. We almost divorced as a result of what happened on Demon’s Run. What the Silence did to me there, whether intentional or not, resulted in me being sterile.” The redhead’s tone was once again forlorn. “And Rory, he wanted to have kids with me. Hell, ever since he was a kid himself. I almost gave him up because I felt what was the point of being married if we can’t have anymore children.”

“But, you both are still together. Right?” Korra asked, hoping this romance still had a happy ending of sorts.

Both the time-traveling wife and husband then recalled a more recent adventure of theirs with the Doctor. Just prior to the Multiversal shenanigans, from hunting Skrulls to the stopping the end of everything. Their time of being forced into helping the Daleks destroy their asylum. The talk they had and rekindling their relationship. How love always win in the end.

“After all the traveling we’ve had together. If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that love and hope usually win.” Rory said with passion.

Amy then faced Korra, “Listen, judging on what we’ve heard about the challenges you had to overcome Korra, I’ll say this. If you really love Asami so much, then don’t give up on her. Despite what your universe, now the Multiverse, may throw at you. Never give up.”

Rory then talked to Asami, “I also hope you’ve been supporting your girlfriend. Because nothing matters more than a smile of love that you deserve to have. And… Look I’ll be honest, Amy took the best bits of what I was planning to say. But she is totally right never give up on love.”

“Great words Mrs. and Mr. Pond. I couldn’t have said them better myself.” The Doctor’s voice said from behind the four.

They then turned around to see the Time Lord standing at the doorway, smiling at what he had just heard.

Tenzin then appeared beside the Doctor and said, “Everyone is ready now.”

Soon the four left the room, the Avatar and the CEO, and their two new friends. For the first two it will be a big challenge, but not the biggest one yet.

Inside the TADRIS, which the Doctor had moved to Air Temple Island, everyone that was native to Earth-4444 was in awe and shock of the TARDIS’s whole bigger on the inside shtick.

“Yes. Yes, I know.” The Doctor said, having seen the same reactions for many centuries now. “Bigger on the inside, I get that reaction a lot.”

“And I thought I’d seen everything, even with the Skrulls.” Tenzin stated.

Besides the Doctor, his two companions, and Team Avatar, now including Opal, the inside of the TARDIS now had Tenzin, Bumi, and a small group of White Lotus guards.

“Okay, am I dreaming this up?” Bolin said with shock in his voice, “Soon I’ll wake up, and the whole Multiverse thing will turn out to be a dream.” He then pinched himself. Just to be sure it wasn’t a dream.

“We’re all seeing the same thing Bolin.” Mako told his brother.

Asami was inspecting the console. Marveling at the advanced machine from not just another planet, but also another universe. “So this thing can really allow you to travel to another… what is it called again… universe?”

“Yes, my oldest companion since I began my travels many centuries ago.” The Doctor stated. “But please, refer to the TARDIS as she. She likes being referred to in proper pronouns.”

“Wait, your ship is alive?” Korra said with a slight confusion.

“In a sense, yes.” The Doctor answered. “But to explain would be a long story and I’ve got my wife to save.” The Time Lord then flipped some switches and pressed some buttons on the console.

The TARDIS then made the famous wheezing and groan sound when it departed from Earth-4444. And went off to Earth-702.

Earth-702

Point Place

The TARDIS landed on the edge of the town square. Everyone in the time machine’s console room went outside. The people from Earth-4444 would have been in awe at being in another universe if not for one detail, the square was void of people who would have surely noticed the TARDIS land and that a small crowd coming out of an even smaller blue box.

“Okay, where is everybody?” Bolin stated, “This looks like a town square, but there are no people.”

Indeed, the center of Point Place was quiet, like the calm before a storm. There wasn’t even the chirping and singing of birds.

But then a sudden voice was heard. “Oh, they’re around.”

Everyone looked in the direction of the voice. They all saw a poofy brown-haired teenager sitting on one of the many benches that littered the town square. He then snapped his fingers and music from what one from most realities would associate with the 1980s played on various of speakers.

Of course, to the residents of Earth-4444, the music was strange and foreign sounding.

The brown-haired teenager spoke again, “But where are my manners. Well, my real name will be difficult to pronounce for most of you, umm… what should I call you guys from Earth-4444.” He pondered for a moment. “What the heck, you are all primitives. Except you Doctor, your special. Anyway, my human name is Randy.”

“You’re a Skrull.” Korra stated, not knowing what else to say.

“Wrong. I mean right.” The voice came from another man. He had the appearance of a teenager as well, and his hair was brown as well. But what was most noticeable about him was the strange glowing energy on his hands. “Sorry, I was so used to posing as Eric that I always had it in my head the phrase of denial that I’m not a Skrull. By the way, I’m totally a Skrull. Just thought that I’d let you guys know that.”

“Eric, stop ruining our intro. I know that were supposed to be awesome, but seriously that was weak.” The third voice came from another teenager. This one had slight dark-skin, black slicked hair, and an accent that one no was able to identify. He introduced himself, “I’m Fez, leader of this base.”

Bumi then yelled with a heroic aggressiveness, “We don’t care what names you choose to call yourselves! Where’s my sister?”

Amy then continued, “And my daughter as well?”

“Ah, of course.” Randy said, with a smirk on his face, “The human/Time Lady hybrid. Despite her being your daughter Amy, River can pass as your sister. Older sister, if I’m being honest.”

Rory frowned at the insult towards his wife, a reminder of the lost time that they never got to raise Melody properly. He then said, “Don’t talk to my wife like that! Where’s our daughter!? Plus, the other people that you have captured?”

Eric then spoke, “Oh, I like you Mr… Pond… Williams? Whatever, we aren’t gonna tell you. Besides all of you will see her soon enough.”

Then Fez made a weird sound from his throat. The Doctor recognized it as a Skrull war cry. Immediately, a lot of brainwashed humans surrounded the crew of benders, fighters, and one Time Lord.

The brainwashed residents of Earth-702 unnerved the residents of Earth-4444. The brainwashed uncanny purple eyes gave them a sense of unease.

Bolin, deciding now the time was right to strike first, bended a rock from out of the ground and threw it at Eric.

The Skrull then muttered something in a long dead language from his world as the boulder was being flung at him. As the giant rock was about to hit him, it suddenly became a teddy bear, which landed on Eric’s hands.

“What, a teddy bear for me? You’re the sweetest Bolin.” Eric said in a mocking tone to the earthbender.

Everyone from Earth-4444 was flabbergasted by what they just saw, for it was impossible.

“It’s called magic.” The Doctor explained to the people from Earth-4444, “Don’t have a lot of it in my universe. Judging by your reactions, same thing.”

Fez then made another war cry, this one telling the brainwashed humans to attack their master’s enemies. So they all charged at the non-brainwashed humans, plus a Time Lord.

A couple of the White Lotus soldiers then began to prepare various bending moves at the brainwashed humans.

“Don’t injure them!” The Doctor yelled at the soldiers, “They’re being mind-controlled by the Skrulls! I would really like to free them from that if I can.”

“Good, you’re holding back.” Randy exclaimed in delight, “That just means it’ll be easier to kill you guys!”

Fez then yelled to his friend, “But make sure the Avatar and the Time Lord are alive, our colleague really wants to make use of them.”

The fight in the town square at first looked like it was gonna be in favor of the Avatar’s army. After all, while the mind-control humans were essentially berserkers that didn’t feel any pain. They didn’t have any powers, super or otherwise. Which made short work of them, well it would have been if the trio of Skrulls weren’t creative.

After seeing a couple of their mind-controlled slaves being knocked-out, Eric decided to do another spell on his opponents. Muttering the key words, he then unleashed a magical blast at one of the benders, disintegrating the firebender that was unfortunately hit by it.

The other White Lotus benders who were nearby saw the death of their colleague and were shocked. That was enough for the brainwashed humans to overwhelm them. Restaining them by grabbing the benders by the arms so they can’t use their bending no more. The mind-controlled humans that weren’t restraining the various of benders then pulled out several knifes respectively and began stabbing the benders.

The rest were shocked by the sheer brutality of what they were seeing. How without any apparent remorse of killing several innocent people.

Bumi then sent several air blasts at the three Skrulls knocking them off their feet.

He then yelled, “Enough of your games. Where’s my sister!”

“You are very demanding aren’t you.” Fez stated with a bit of annoyance in his voice, but sporting a smile. He then changed into the form of a large creature that reminded the residents of Earth-4444 of a large reptile of some kind that was a size of one of the buildings of Point Place.

Fez then spoke, his voice now booming, “Thanks to acquiring some titan DNA from Earth-1933, I’m the king of Point Place! And I’ll crush you humans like you squash bugs!”

Rory, who alongside his wife, were fighting back the brainwashed humans with swords from the TARDIS. The Lone Centurion then said, “And I thought the Doctor could be a large ham.” He then shrugged, accepting that he thought wrong.

The two companions guarded the Doctor with their swordsmen ship. After all, Rory was a plastic centurion for around 2,000 years. So after that episode, Rory taught Amy how to fight using various combat skills he learned over the years, plus CPR. The Doctor was looking for a way to sneak out of the battle and find a way into the Skrulls base to free River, Kya, and any other prisoners that the Skrulls had on this Earth. Plus, free the brainwashed humans if they could.

The giant Fez was stomping around and using his giant size to turn the tide of battle against the Avatar’s army, but they weren’t budging. Korra, Mako, and several firebenders used their bending to produce a giant flame to keep Fez back.

Meanwhile, Asami and Opal rushed to Randy. The latter producing an airbending blast that knocked the Skrull off his feet.

He then got up and said with a smirk, “You know ladies, I’m not exactly comfortable with hitting women. Especially those that are as pretty as you.”

Opal winced at comment and gave a small scowl.

Asami said with anger, “Well, you aren’t exactly playing fair.” She threw a punch at Randy.

She continued, “First your friend Sheng, brainwashes Mako, Bolin, Wu, and me to not only attack Korra, but to be nothing more than pawns in whatever game you have for my world.” As she stated her anger at the Skrull she continued punching him. “So frankly, I’m not in the mood for your small talk.”

Randy then moved his arm and threw a nearby car at Asami, causing Opal to use airbending to push Asami from the vehicle’s path. Both realized that Randy was using metalbending to throw that car at Asami.

Randy then said, “That’s okay, I like a strong woman too.” He then shape-shifted into the form of Kuvira, the woman who tried to become leader of her own self-proclaimed Earth Empire and the one responsible for the death of Asami’s father. “Besides, this form is something that you’re more personal towards, especially for your dear old dad.” Randy, in Kuvira’s voice, said mockingly to Asami.

Asami herself then realized of course they knew about Kuvira. After all, the Skrulls had been spying on her world for at least several years. Especially with Sheng and Kya being two of them.

Randy then used metalbending to cause shrapnel to fly towards Asami and Opal, who both dodged the flying metal bits. But Asami wasn’t fast enough, as a bit of shrapnel went into her leg and another in her arm. Opal tried to come to Asami’s aid. But Randy then grabbed a metal rod and swung it at Opal’s back, knocking her in the head. She then fell into an unconscious state.

Eric was facing off against Bolin, Tenzin, and Bumi. The three benders were definitely not used to dealing with a sorcerer.

Eric then said, “You know as much as I love dancing with you guys, this is getting a bit tiring.” He then muttered another incantation that knocked the three benders unconscious.

Sheng, appearing from out of the town hall, then approached Eric and said to his comrade, “Why didn’t you use that spell sooner?”

Eric responded, “C’mon, Mira you know that we love playing with our new toys.”

Mira, the name of the Skrull that used to go by the name Dr. Sheng on Earth-4444, said, “Well, I find it a bit childish. Tell Fasma that I want these benders, plus the Time Lord in the lab. Now!”

Eric, knowing Fasma was the real name of Fez, sighed. He didn’t want this fight to end, but oh well. Mira was the boss after all.

On Fez’s side, things were definitely in his favor. With him being a two-story tall titan and all. He had overcome the combined firebending and with one swipe of his tail, knocked Korra, Mako, and the remaining White Lotus soldiers off their feet.

Mira then said, “You three did good. Tell your slaves to get the Doctor by any means. I don’t care what happens to his two assistants or how many slaves get injured or killed.”

Eric then muttered a teleportation spell that caused the Doctor to appear right next to the four Skrulls. Then two brainwashed humans immediately grabbed and restrained him so that he won’t try any tricks.

Fez then shifted back into his human form and said, “I should try that form more often.” Referring to the titan form he just used. Fez then turned to Sheng, “You’re such a killjoy you know.”

Sheng responded, “You can try that titan form again for another time. Besides, we captured one of the Doctors. After their various incarnations have been a thorn to our plans, we’ve had a victory over them.”

Randy then said, “Plus the Avatar and her friends. Man, I wonder which one of us gets to pose as that powerhouse.”

Sheng said, “All I need from Earth-4444 is the Avatar and her girlfriend, the rest you can do with what you like.”

Eric then said with glee, “Since you weren’t there for the feast. Then perhaps we can show you to one of those benders getting their last meal. The fire one would be good choice.”

The brainwashed humans who were restraining Mako, forced his face upwards. He saw various brainwashed humans carrying some strange types of food, presumably the type that the people on Earth-702 would enjoy if they weren’t brainwashed.

Fez then giggled manically. He then told Eric, “Hey bro, wake up the fire guy’s brother, along with the other humans from Earth-4444. I really want to see their reactions to it.”

Eric then snapped his fingers while muttering another spell. Which caused those that were unconscious to become awake and to watch in horror at Mako’s planned fate.

The Doctor was being forced to watch by the brainwashed humans restraining him, yelled at his captors, “Don’t you dare!”

“Yes we dare.” Randy taunted the Time Lord, “We did this before to the Dr. Strange of Earth-92131. You should have seen the look on his face as the arrogance was replaced by total fear. Along with the fact that we gave him the most undignified death imaginable for a Soccer Supreme.”

“Let me guess.” The Doctor responded. “You feed him to death via clogging his mouth with every food imaginable.” A twig of disgust in his voice.

Fez, Eric, and Randy nodded in confirmation. The Doctor just gave them a scowl in response. The four Skrull present laughed sadistically at what was about to happen with Mako, even Sheng was laughing. Which was rare for her. Korra, Asami, Bolin, and the rest of Earth-4444 natives looked on in horror at what was happening to Mako.

Bolin yelled at the Skrulls, “If you kill him, I’ll…”

“What.” Eric said smugly to the lavabender, “We are holding you captive. So no talking during the show.”

Korra tried to think of something to yell at the Skrull, but what could she do? Her friend was about to be overfeed to death and nothing could be done about it.

Notes:

Man, that was kind of long for my standards. Anyway, hope you fans loved and liked this chapter. On with the AN.

On the whole the Doctor is remembering the various of events in IC with their previous incarnations involved in. Well, that was to rectify an unintentional continuity error in Movie-Brat’s “Rampage of the Rani”. In that, when the Thirteenth Doctor meets a version of Captain Carter, she remembers the version that traveled with them as the Eighth Doctor. Even though in my own “An Avenging Christmas”, the Eleventh Doctor claims he doesn’t remember traveling with that version of Peggy. I DM’d Movie-Brat about this and it was something they overlooked.

Anyway, I decided to have the various of incarnations of the Doctor remember the various IC stories that had to a past incarnation of that Doctor respectively depending said incarnation as it “happens”. Hope you readers understand what I’m trying to explain to you.

I got said idea from the Big Finish audio story, “The Wrong Doctor”. In that story, two versions of the Sixth Doctor share the same adventure. The older Sixth Doctor remembers the events from the perspective of his younger self as it “happens” to said younger self.

Now I know that you readers have questions for what I have planned for the Third and Fourth Doctors. Well, think of the Eleventh Doctor referencing those two as a sneak peak of sorts. The rest of the Other Doctors that were mentioned in that scene, you’ve already seen before in IC.

William is in reference to C-List DC hero Triumph. Who a version of in IC was established as being a companion of the Fifth Doctor in L1701E’s “Double Dragon”. The universe in which I establish Triumph being from is Earth-N52.

The Stephanie that his traveling with the Fourth Doctor, K-9, and Romana II is a variant of Stephanie Brown, better as known Spoiler/Batgirl V in various of DC continuities. To clarify, this version of Stephanie Brown (who goes by Batgirl in her native universe) is not from the same Earth as Triumph.

Earth-1985 is the universe of Thundercats, which in “His Hazelnut Heart” the Eighth Doctor mentions having been to that Earth with his companions.

Earth-110521 is the universe that was featured in L1701E’s “Freedom Force”, which is the setting of a version of “X-Men: Evolution”. In my own “The Spirit of Halloween”, Hyperion mentions that Skymax met the Eighth Doctor and his companions on that Earth. On that note, well, I have an idea or two on how Eight’s visit there went, especially now that I’ve fully watched Evo.

Thanks to Movie-Brat for giving a general idea on how the end result for Amy and Rory giving Korra and Asami their relationship advice. Cheers to you.

The references that Amy made in terms of weird things happening to her are “Night Terrors”, “The Girl Who Waited”, and the comic story “Body Snatched”.

Rory becoming Emperor of Rome and a Knight of Camelot really happened on Big Finish in “The Lone Centurion” series. I really recommend those audios, because they are totally worth a listen to.

The fight scene with the Skrulls and benders was kind of difficult for me to write, since I’m inexperienced with those types of scenes. L1701E and Ben2Dartmouth threw in a couple of ideas for me. Cheers to those two as well. Movie-Brat suggest an idea for the fight as well, in that the brainwashed humans used cars to run-over the benders. But couldn’t find a way to make that fit.

Also thanks to Ben2Dartmouth on writing advice for the three Skrulls posing as Eric, Fez, and Randy. I haven’t watched a single episode of “That 70’s Show”. I’m not that much of a sitcom guy to begin with, I tried to get myself to bing “Friends” but couldn’t. I gave up on it around halfway into the first season. Not that I found “Friends” bad, but because it just wasn’t my thing. I usually prefer stories that have Sci-Fi, Superheroes, and Fantasy elements in them. So in case I most likely butcher Eric, Fez, and Randy’s lines. Ether blame me or that the Skrulls are showing their true personalities.

Fez turning himself into a titan was because of me binging “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” on Apple TV at the time I’m writing this. Since it’s been a while since we referenced the Monsterverse in IC, I thought it would be a good idea in that Skrulls have agents on Earth-1933, which explains how Fez has titan DNA in him.

Anyway that’s all the I have for this AN. Tofa and cheers.

Chapter 4

Notes:

An Announcement: I decide to post my IC fics onto AO3, alongside ff.net.

Well, that took a while. A move, plus writer’s block, can do that.

But I got this chapter done and I should be proud of that.

Now on with the show!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Earth-702

Point Place, Wisconsin

Avatar Korra already knew what being helpless felt like.

Whether temporary losing most of her bending to Amon, losing her connections to the previous Avatars thanks to UnaVaatu, or being poisoned with mercury by Zaheer and the Red Lotus. Avatar Korra eventually recovered from those traumas, even if remembering those events was difficult  at times.

She knew how Asami felt when she lost her father to Kuvira and remembered as a little girl, her old teacher Katara losing her older brother Sokka to old age. Korra had a good idea on what loss felt like.

But it was never someone very close to her. But now that was about to change with Mako about to be killed. She saw her ex-boyfriend struggling as he was about to be force-fed to death by a bunch of brainwashed people controlled by aliens in a parallel world. Spirits is that what Asami felt as she was about to lose her father to Kuvira.

“Tell your minions to let him go you bastards!” Bolin yelled at the Skrulls.

“Why?” Fez then laughed. “This is gonna be so much fun.”

Randy, who was not holding someone and drinking from a soda cup, said. “Yeah. We told you before, now shush.”

Korra had enough of this. She decided now was the time to enter the Avatar State. She calmed down to enter it, but no matter how hard she tried Korra couldn’t enter the Avatar State.

“Having trouble becoming the Super Avatar?” Eric said to Korra. His hands were glowing once again, signaling to her that he was performing another spell. “This one prevents you from entering the Avatar State. Don’t want you destroying our toys after all the hard work we’ve done to this town.” He, along his fellow Skrulls, laughed again.

Mako now couldn’t breathe, the life slowly being drained out of him. But then suddenly, he felt a burning sensation in his throat. Suddenly he breathed fire from his mouth. Burning the food clogging up his mouth. After the flames dissipated, Mako collapsed into unconsciousness.

Fez then responded. “Huh, should have known that a firebender could do that.”

“Well, now that he is unconscious, should we try it again?” Randy asked.

“No,” Sheng stated coldly.

Bolin, Korra, and Asami breathed small sighs of reliefs. Though they knew whatever was planned next for them would not be pleasant.

The sadistic Skrull scientist then made an order. “Take the Doctor, the Avatar, and the rest of them to my laboratory.”

“Aww, can’t we force-feed one of them to death?” Fez asked, sounding a little bit like a whining child. “Please.”

Sheng responded. “No, I had enough of these childish games.”

“Fine,” Fez stated. “Eric knock them out.”

Eric then performed a spell that knocked the Doctor, Team Avatar, and the rest of their allies unconscious.

As the spell was beginning to affect him. The Doctor then said in a calm voice that slightly surprised the Skrulls. “You may have captured most of us, but you still have to deal with Amy and Rory.”

The Skrulls all chuckled a little bit.

Randy then said. “Yeah, and the residents of this town have them surrounded. Give up, you have lost.”

The Doctor still hoped that the smug shapeshifter would be proven wrong.

Hanging out, down the street.

It was the song that woke the Doctor up first. The same song that he heard Randy play when he first arrived in this universe.

The same old thing we did last week.

The Time Lord looked around. He was in a lab. He saw several Skrull scientists and brainwashed humans monitoring him and the rest of his team. Though he only saw Korra, Asami, Boiln, Mako and Opal. The others it seems were in another part of this compound.

Not a thing to do.

He then heard stirring to his left. He turned and saw Asami waking up.

But to talk to you.

Asami also saw her surroundings and was in both shock and awe upon seeing the alien equipment. She was speechless, not knowing if she should compliment or admonish it.

We’re all, alright.

“I see the sleepy-heads are awake.”

The Doctor looked up and saw the Skrull who referred to himself as Fez standing in front of his captives. He then announced, “Welcome to my evil supervillain lair!”

He was about to make a stereotypical villain laugh when he was cut off by Eric.

“You mean our supervillain lair.” The alien magician said, scolding his friend.

Fez corrected himself, “Sorry, our supervillain lair.”

He, alongside Eric and Randy, then did his stereotypical supervillain laugh.

A cold voice then yelled at them. “Will you three stop goofing off!” It was Sheng, who seemed to be more serious compared to the other Skrulls.

“C’mon Mira, we were just having fun,” Randy said a bit defensibly.

Sheng sighed. She hoped that the three underlings of hers were affected by the mind-control chemicals. That would at least explain their idiocy since setting up a base on this Earth.

They then heard a scream of anger, Korra had woken up.

She tried to go into the Avatar State again, only to realize that Eric’s spell was still in affect in canceling out that power move.

“Rise and shine sleeping beauty. By the way, love those lesbian muscles.” Randy said, in a mocking tone to Korra.

The Avatar glared at the Skrull.

Bolin then woke up. “What do you aliens want with us anyway?” Bolin asked anger still in his voice at what they tried to do with Mako.

“Well Bolin, we want to make our former empire great again,” Eric stated with some smugness in his voice.

The Doctor just rolled his eyes. “Oh for Rassilon’s sake, that excuse again. I’ve seen it repeated so many times. From Hitler to Trump. You’re just mad and silly with delusions of grandeur.”

“Our species didn’t ask for this,” Sheng said with force. “Our home planet was destroyed thanks to the Kree and for a long time, we were nomads without a home. I grew up on a backwater planet where thanks to Kree propaganda. I was picked on for simply being who I was.”

“I am sorry for the bullying you must have received as a child, I can relate somewhat.” The Doctor said. “But that still doesn’t excuse the brainwashing, both here and on Earth-4444. Why go to brainwashing anyway, isn’t infiltrate and conquer enough?”

Fez smiled and then explained, “Originally this project was meant to be just getting the people of our universe to trust our species and ignore Kree misinformation. But then, we were given… an offer.”

The Doctor asked, curiosity in his voice, “What kind of offer? Was it who gave you the power to travel across Time, Space, and the Multiverse?”

“Well, to quote your wife. Spoilers.” Randy said, taunting the Time Lord. “Speaking of which…”

He then snapped his fingers and the door to the interrogation room opened. River Song then came in escorted by a couple of brainwashed humans. The other prisoners couldn’t help but notice that one of the brainwashed humans, a redheaded woman, was dressed in a Slave Leia outfit from Return of the Jedi. Everyone else, expect the Doctor and River, blushed at the woman.

The Doctor was the first to speak. “First you have to brainwash this poor person. But did you guys have to degrade her.”

Eric got defensive. “Hey, everyone has their kink. Though I do confess, I think I might have gotten that from the real Eric Foreman. Sharing the memories of that dweep can be annoying at times. Still, his fantasies about his girlfriend are a bit interesting. Especially since I’m a skilled sorcerer and well… you guys can see the results.” He sighed at the statement he made. “Besides I think magic is so much better than Star Wars, especially given how toxic their fandom will become. Also…”

“Enough!” Sheng yelled, annoyed at Eric’s rabbling. “I am not judging, but keep your fantasies towards the primitives to yourself.”

Eric just nodded submissively and meekly said, “Yes ma’am.”

Mako then spoke. “Going back to the Doctor’s question, why brainwash a bunch of people, including Wu, Asami, Bolin, and me, to influence the outcome of the Gaoling's election. Or better yet, why didn’t you disguise yourselves and replace Guan or better yet, Kuvira.”

Bolin then asked his question. “Yeah, another thing. Why didn’t you guys just conquer our world outright? Since you have better technology compared to us.”

Fez then gave the answers. “First, we are, well… Kind of on a budget shall we say, even with the benefits from the bosses. Hence the reason why we haven’t conquered your world outright.”

Randy continued, “So we had to go the more subtle route. We started with the former Earth Empire because fragile fledging democracies are so easy to infiltrate and control. Humans are stupid after all.”

Sheng then spoke, “And with the brainwashing I perfected from the real Dr. Sheng thanks to the chemicals we found here, we would have been able to control all of Earth-4444 in due time. Election by election. Of course, we should have known that the Avatar and her friends were going to be involved. But thankfully, the Gaoling failure has turned out to have been a setback.”

“What do you mean?” Asami asked, she had a feeling that she knew. And she wouldn’t like the answer.

Fez was about to speak, but River was the one who said the answer. “They are going to replace you and use your position as defenders of your world to eventually take control of it like they have done here.”

“Rude, but yes on that,” Fez said though he was a bit annoyed that River interrupted him. He eventually found her annoying.

Fez then slapped River, hoping to prove at least some superiority to the human/Time Lady hybrid. She still had that annoying smirk on her face.

He so hopped to order Eric to remove that stupid face of hers via his magic. But that thought had come up after telling the bosses about River, who had told him to leave her unharmed. Fez was annoyed about that, but orders were orders. Especially after all they have done for his people.

“Your world is filled with untapped energy from both your Earth and this dimension you guys call the Spirit World,” Randy told them, continuing their intended goals for the Avatar’s universe. “Yet you squander that potential energy with worshipping the inhabitants of that dimension who look down on you. When in fact, your world could have been more advanced if you simply didn’t let these spirits hold you back.”

“You’re wrong!” Korra yelled, for the Doctor and River it was as if someone had just insulated her. “The spirits can be arrogant, but they do care about what happens in the human world overall.”

“Whatever,” Eric said, not caring what Korra had to say. “You’re just mad that we insulted your religion.”

Then suddenly the door to the room opened and Rory entered the room.

“Oh, thank Rassilon, Rory.” The Doctor said sounding relieved. “Thought that you and Amelia were goners when those brainwashed humans were surrounding you guys.”

Rory then suddenly spoke. “Oh Doctor, do you ever babble on with that annoying monologue? Because I am not your companion.”

“He’s our boss. Well, one of them at least.” Fez stated rather smugly.

“Wait, I’m confused,” Bolin stated. “Does that mean that Rory was a Skrull all along?”

“No, you dimwit. I am one of the Skrull’s masters. Though yes for Amy and Jinora of course.”

“What have you done with them?” The Doctor said growled, it was rare for him to do that.

“They are safe, for now.” The man said.

The woman, who was Amy Pond then taunted the Time Lord. “Besides, if Madame Kovarian can replace your dear Amelia Pond with a ganger without you noticing until it was too late. Well, this was easy for us. We have better resources compared to her and that pathetic cult she runs.”

“Exactly.” The man who looked like Rory said. “All of your bluster on being the most intelligent being in the Multiverse, you are so narrow-minded into thinking that you can take us down.”

“And what do you mean by us?” The Doctor asked.

“Screw that!” Korra yelled. “What have you done with Jinora?!”

The Skrull posing as Amy said. “As the boss said, she is safe. Honestly, you are the Avatar. Why should one little girl concern you?”

“She’s like a little sister to me. Something that you things will never understand.” Korra stated with venom in her voice.

The being that posed as Jinora just smiled at the Avatar. It wasn’t some creepy smile that one would see in a horror movie, it was one that one would see being complimented on by a family member.

Unfortunately, Sheng noticed it as well, “Do you three think I am an idiot? Sure, the three buffoons behind me are given that they’ve spent way too much time around the brainwashing chemicals we use to control these native humans.”

“Hey.” Fez, Eric, and Randy said in unison on being insulted.

“But I would have been notified of one of the benefactors coming here,” Sheng stated.

Rory then said, “Well, this is a surprise inspection. Besides it’s just coincidence that my appearance resembles one of the Doctor’s pets.”

Sheng continued. “Along with said pet's wife and the airbending girl accompanying you just when we have the Doctor and the Avatar, along with the Avatar’s friends, in our grasp. Plus this particular Doctor and assistant group have ruined several of our plans in various universes, which probably means you have to at least know what one of our benefactors looks like.”

Amy then suddenly spoke, “Well of course we knew that. After all, mad scientist. But long enough to fool you for a bit and blow you away.”

Immediately after Amy said that Jinora created a gust of air that quickly knocked the four Skrulls down on their feet. The three humans then ran to the control panel.

“Doctor, which ones of these buttons release you and the others from your restraints?” Amy asked quickly.

The group of brainwashed humans quickly tried to attack Amy, Rory, and Jinora. The airbender made another gust of cyclone winds that knocked them down, next to their four masters.

River ran over to her parents and Jinora. She then pointed to a button and said. “That one. But press this other one to overload the chemicals that Skrulls use to control these people.”

Rory quickly did that and then said. “So now what, are they free from the Skrull’s control?”

“Not exactly Dad,” River replied. “But it will gradually wear off on them.”

The Doctor and Team Avatar ran up to the four. The Doctor kissed River, while Korra hugged Jinora very tightly.

After the Doctor kissed River, the human/Time Lady hybrid said, “I was waiting for that to happen.”

“You are such a flirt.” The Doctor said.

While Korra after she finished hugging Jinora said, “Wait, how are you here? I thought we left you back in our world?”

“I found a back door if that’s what you call it, on the Doctor’s time machine,” Jinora explained.

“The TARDIS has a back door?” Amy said in confusion.

“Yes, it does.” The Doctor said. “But only if she likes you.”

“Wait, hold it,” Asami said. “Is that what you mean when you say that your time machine is still alive?”

“To put it simply, yes.” The Doctor stated. “But we got to hurry and free the rest of the Skrull’s prisoners.”

“What about the rest of the Skrulls?” Korra said.

“She’s right Doctor. We still have a couple of them in this reality.” Amy said.

“I already have an idea,” River exclaimed. “The Skrull’s influence is limited to this town. With only a few actual ones.”

“Where are you going with this?” Mako asked.

“What I’m saying is, we call the US government of this world and have them retake Point Place,” River said.

“I don’t think this is a good idea,” Rory said. “I mean, if they were the ones that created this brainwashing chemical and used it on a town of theirs, they don’t sound like the most trusting of people. Plus we will also have a bunch of advanced technology from across the Multiverse lying around this town in a universe experiencing the Cold War right now.”

“Get what you are saying, Rory.” The Doctor said. “But I think I, or at least another me, will have to deal with that later.”

“What am I wearing!?” The voice came from the redhead dressed as slave Leia. The brainwashing seemed to have worn off on her.

“Sorry about that.” The Doctor apologized, even though it wasn’t his fault. “Glad to know that the brainwashing has worn off so quickly.”

“Brainwashing?” The woman said confused. “Now tell me which one of you assholes dressed me in this metal bikini or I’ll…” She then suddenly remembered the things that the Skrulls made her do, including murdering a certain Soccer Supreme. “My god, I killed someone. He was dressed weirdly, but still to kill someone.”

The Doctor grabbed a nearby lab coat and put it on the redhead. “Listen, you had no control of your actions. What is your name?”

The woman introduced himself. “My, oh, Donna Pinciotti.”

The Doctor then chuckled a bit. “I knew another Donna, a lifetime ago. She was also ginger.”

Everyone else in the room noticed that the Doctor’s tone was a bit forlorn. Only River, Amy, and Rory knew that the Time Lord was referencing his former companion Donna Noble.

Well, the humans in the room that is.

“Oh, Doctor. Referencing your fallen friend.” The voice came from the Skrull posing as Eric, now back up on his feet.

“Donna Noble is not dead.” The Doctor stated.

“Yeah, but you did wipe her memory of the times you spent together,” Eric stated, once again with full smugness in her voice. “Back into being a bitchy temp worker.”

The Doctor responded. “It was either that or let her mind burn.”

“Well, that’s alright the…” Eric said but was interrupted by Donna Pinciotti, who was now knocking him in the face constantly.

“You ass!” She yelled, still kicking the Skrull in the face. “First you kidnap and replace my boyfriend! Then you brainwash me and my friends into killing a man! Also, you make me wear this stupid bikini and make me do other shit!”

Everyone else couldn’t help but smirk a bit. But after a few moments, Korra and Amy restrained Donna.

“Easy there,” Korra said facing Donna. “Listen, do you know where they are keeping the other prisoners?”

“Along with the man that was killed?” River asked.

“Why are you interested in a variant of Dr. Strange?” The Doctor asked his wife.

“I was hired by his wife to look for a couple of artifacts that he had on and, well, my investigations on his whereabouts led me to this Earth. But unfortunately, my Vortex Manipulator landed me in front of the sorcerer, who quickly imprisoned me with one of his spells.” River explained.

“I know where that guy’s stuff is stored,” Donna said. “And where your friends are being held.” She then led them to where the others were being held.

After several twists and turns through the labyrinth that was the Skrull’s underground base in Point Place, along with fighting a couple of Skrulls. They reached their destination where the rest of the prisoners were being held.

They quickly freed them and greetings were in order, including some awkward ones with Jinora explaining to Tenzin and Bumi why she was there.

River though was looking for what she came here for.

“Found it!” She exclaimed.

The Doctor, Amy, and Rory were with River in the room where the body of Dr. Stephen Strange was from Earth-92131. The human/Time Lady hybrid was holding a medallion that the other three time travelers knew was flowing with energy.

The Doctor knew what it was. “The Eye of Agamotto. Or at least from one universe. I take it after that Dr. Strange didn’t come back home, his native universe was vulnerable to mystic attacks.”

“Correct,” River stated, she then explained. “His wife, Clea, was able to contact me and I was hired to retrieve his body, along with his toys. Now I just need to find that cloak of his…”

As if on cue, the Cloak of Levitation arrived suddenly and attached itself to Rory.

“Umm… Okay.” Rory said, a bit flabbergasted that a sentient cloak decided to go to him.

Amy just giggled a bit. “You look like a superhero now.”

“And shoving Hitler into a closet wasn’t already.” Rory snarked back.

River then shrunk the body of Strange and put it inside a tiny container.

The Doctor didn’t like the method that River chose to transport the former Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-92131 but decided not to say anything as it was efficient.

Then suddenly above and in the base, chaos was heard as the humans of Point Place that were once under the brainwashed thrall of the Skrulls were now free. And also angry at what they were made to do.

Meanwhile, in the base’s laboratory, the four Skrulls that were once called Sheng, Eric, Fez, and Randy were now awake.

The one once called Fez was furious at what was happening right now. Not only another attempt to infiltrate and conquer Earth-4444 had failed, but this time both the Avatar and the Doctor had resulted in the loss of this base, his playground where he, along with Eric and Randy, would boss around their formerly brainwashed pets. Fez loved bossing these primitives around. He heard explosions and other such noises as their former subjects were now free from their control.

He then heard Sheng give an order to Eric, to open a portal to the headquarters of the bosses. The sorcerer then formed a sling ring that led them there.

Fez did wonder how the Doctor’s companions knew what one of the bosses looked like one of them. But that was something to wonder about later. As he walked into the portal, Fez dreaded the moment when he, along with Sheng, had to tell the bosses about another failure thanks to one of the Doctors.

Meanwhile above the base, in the town center of Point Place, the Doctor was ushering in the captives of the Skrulls and others not native to Earth-702 into the TARDIS.

Donna now dressed in normal clothes, approached the Time Lord. With the real Eric Foreman beside her. “Thanks for helping us… Who are you again?” She said.

“Oh, just call me the Doctor.” He stated that heroically like he had done a million times before.

Eric was a little confused. “Another doctor. Just the Doctor?”

“Just the Doctor.” The Time Lord stated again. “Nice to meet you for real this time Eric.”

“Thanks, I guess.” Eric didn’t know what else to say.

The Doctor then said, “Best not to say anything about it to your government. Don’t entirely trust them since they were the ones that started this brainwashing experiment when the Skrulls took control of it. But my instincts tell me that you and your friends will be able to rebuild your town.”

“Yeah, but what about the alien tech that they left behind?” Donna asked. “You said that you didn’t exactly trust the government Doctor whatever you are.”

“Oh, I’ll deal with that part later.” The Doctor nonchalantly said. “Sometime in my future, I’ll come back here and dump the Skrull technology somewhere safe.”

Eric and Donna just nodded at the strange man and then left. Now glad that soon, things will be back to normal.

The Doctor then went inside the TARDIS. Everyone that was from various other universes was now inside his ship. The Doctor flicked a switch on the console and the TARDIS headed back to Earth-4444.

Tenzin then approached the Time Lord and said. “We did a lot of good today. We saved a town, maybe a universe even.”

The Doctor smiled. “I know, and I’m always proud of what I do.”

Earth-4444

Air Temple Island

The TARDIS landed in the same spot that it had when previously visiting the sanctuary. The residents of this universe then left the space/time craft, happy to be back home. Especially those that had not set foot in their universe in a long time.

Kya had tears of joy in her eyes at finally being back home after several years of captivity. As well as several other former prisoners who were having similar emotions at finally being back home.

Ikki and Meelo quickly went to hug their real aunt for a long time as soon as they noticed her.

Pema went to over-hug both Tenzin and Jinora. Plus Pema chastises her daughter for sneaking into the TARDIS without her permission.

Tenzin then told his wife. “If wasn’t for Jinora. We would have still been held captive by those Skrulls. Our daughter is a hero.”

Jinora just smiled at what her father had said.

Pema then said. “Okay. But when you go out to save the day, just don’t disappear on me like that again.”

Meanwhile, the Doctor went outside of the TARDIS carrying several pieces of paper with him as he walked towards Team Avatar.

“That’s sure a lot of papers, Doctor,” Asami stated.

“Ah, well thanks. But they’re all for your group of friends, along with other important officials of your Earth.” The Time Lord explained. “I was able to use my sonic screwdriver to scan one of the computers at Point Place and…”

“A com what now?” Bolin asked.

“Oh right, you haven’t got those yet.” The Doctor then explained. “Think of it as a mechanical library where information is stored. No wait, that’s the internet. But still, that’s what I got on these pieces of papers, the list of people that are Skrulls.”

“Huh, guess things are working out for us after all this once,” Mako stated proudly.

Then suddenly, an Air Acolyte named Daw approached Korra and said. “Avatar Korra, I’m giving you and your friends a heads up on tomorrow's paper.”

The rest of Team Avatar then looked at the paper, tomorrow’s copy of The Elemental Times. The front page photo was of Korra and Asami kissing romantically. The headline was this.

The Avatar and C.E.O. of Future Industries Lovers?

Korra was a-gasped. She was so sure that she and Asami were careful at keeping their relationship a secret. “Where did you get this?”

Daw responded. “I have a friend who works for the Times. She says this photo, along with several others, came in the Times main office and according to my friend, it was in some anonymous envelope.”

After some moments of silence with the group, Daw spoke to Korra. “Look, I have nothing against two women in a you know what. But others, a lot of others, will not have the same feelings. I just thought you and your, umm, friend, had a right to know after saving Republic City a few times. Plus you saved my life when I first got my airbending” He quietly walked away not knowing what else to say.

Korra flipped through the paper, seeing several photos of her and Asami kissing and romantic gestures. She read the article that described their relationship, mainly the speculation and gossip about their relationship.

Asami spoke first. “How did the Times know about me and Korra? It’s not gutter press and everyone around the world reads it.”

River, who was listening in along with Amy and Rory, said. “It was most likely the Skrulls. They have access to time travel and a lot of advanced tech. I guess is that they used a time-space visualizer to look around all over your time-stream.”

“When we first met them in the prison. One of them said they knew me and Korra were in a relationship.” Asami said realizing. “It must be a subtle form of revenge for stopping their plans on both our world and Point Place.”

Bolin then turned to Rory. “By the way, how did you know that one of Skrulls bosses looked like you?”

“Oh, that,” Rory said. “We, Amy, the Doctor, and me, have defeated the Skrulls on several worlds before we landed on your world. On one Earth, we saw a Skrull agent talking to a guy on a monitor that looked like me. Thought it would be a good bluff on them.” He then chuckled.

The Doctor then somberly talked to Korra. “Listen, while I would have liked to say to you that everything is going to be alright. But I can’t, your world has some unique resources that will make it a target to not just the Skrulls, but other factions as well.”

“I can guess the Spirit Vines being the main reason,” Korra stated. She then remembered the Skrulls harvesting of the vines in the swamp. “Guess we’re going to the swamp next to help dismantle the Skrulls operation there.”

River then came into their conversation. “Sorry, but we have other things to do in the Multiverse. Besides, I think you and your friends can handle that operation without our help.”

“Uh, thanks. I guess.” Korra didn’t know how else to respond. She then turned to Amy and Rory. “But I’d like to thank you for giving the advice that Asami and I needed. Especially now that our relationship is gonna be out in the open soon.”

Korra and Asami then each hugged Amy and Rory respectively. As for Mako and Bolin, they just spoke their hands.

After everyone said their goodbyes. The Doctor pulled out of his pocket, to the surprise of Team Avatar, a bright red telephone that wouldn’t look out of place in the Avatar’s world.

Before anyone could ask anything else, the Doctor responded. “First, my pockets are bigger on the inside like the TARDIS. As for this phone, I have a feeling that this won’t be the last time you will have a Multiverse incident. While I am confident that you will be able to handle it. If not, well, you can directly call me with this in case you need me. It was good seeing you again Kyoshi, I mean Korra.”

The current Avatar then said. “What do you mean by…”

But the next thing she saw was the four time traveler entering the TARDIS.

The Doctor then turned to Korra and said. “I’m sure you will figure out what I said later.”

“Spoilers and bye for now,” River said.

Then, the people on Air Temple Island heard the strangest noise of wheezing and groaning as the Doctor’s TARDIS left Earth-4444 and continued on further adventures.

Inside the TARDIS, the Doctor and River were operating the TARDIS. Amy and Rory approached them.

Amy spoke first. “Doctor, Rory, and I have several questions. Mainly on these new memories that you have?”

“Yeah, like who are these new friends and foes that are in your memories now? I’m really curious to know who your previous incarnation is tracking down?” Rory asked.

“What are you talking about?” River asked.

Amy then turned to her daughter. “Well, before we went to Point Place, the Doctor told us that his memories are in a jumble right now.”

“Meaning?” River asked.

The Doctor explained. “Well, it’s like this.”

The Time Lord then told his wife about the recent adventures that he and his Other selves were experiencing in the Multiverse so far.

Center of Omniverse

The Glory

The current guardian of the Glory, Kroton, watched the Eleventh Doctor explaining to his wife and companions what he and his Other selves were doing in the Multiverse he resided in.

The former Cyberman missed the days when it was simple. Whether breaking free from Cyber-Control or being a companion of the Eighth Doctor back in his native universe.

Thanks to the actions of Doctor Strange and Thanos of Universe-199999, his job just got harder.

If he wasn’t an Omniversal God, then he could go for a drink.

He then decided to do that, since technically he could both stay and leave the Glory at the same given the whole Omniverse God schtick he had going on right now.

The part of him that left decided to back to his native Universe-231163. He hadn’t talked to anyone in a long time. Perhaps having a part of him having a drink with Izzy Sinclair will cheer him up from this insanity he is experiencing at the moment.

Earth-4444

Republic City

A tour boat returning from Air Temple Island entered the dock. It was mainly filled with tourists, plus a few tour guides.

One of these passengers was not either. He was a shapeshifter from another universe, but he was not a Skrull. He was a Bio-Borg called Replicon from Earth-199596.

Replicon, currently in a generic human form, did his best not to make himself noticeable. He had experience in that, especially since the death of Cybron. The man who turned him from a disgraced actor into a Bio-Borg.

It was a simple trick of pretending to be a resident of this universe and being escorted by these White Lotus people into the Doctor’s time machine and to arrive on this primitive Earth to escape Skrull captivity. He shuttered at the memories of being experimented by those aliens for what felt like several months. He was thankful that it was all over now. It took several changes after landing on the island that this Doctor person landed his ship on that he was able to sneak away undetected and into a random tour group that was visiting the island.

This world reminds Replicon of the time Cybron tried to take over his native Earth in the 1920s. But the Skysurfers interfered in that plan, along with the other ones. At least they weren’t here to stop him and to send him to jail.

He then discreetly walked out of the boat and into the bustling docks of Republic City. The Bio-Borg could definitely make the most out of this place. Especially since this Earth had only one superhero in the form of this Avatar girl. Sure there were the benders, but Replicon thought that some of them could be useful. In a world like this, there must be some benders that are criminals.

Replicon then walked through the crowded city with one thought in his head as he laughed internally.

Wait until they get a load of me.

Notes:

Glad that’s done with, at least the main part of the story. I will have two more chapters that basically epilogues to this story.

Now to the AN:

I’d like to thank Ben2Dartmouth for the scene at the end of the previous chapter and the beginning of this one where Mako is about to be force-feed to death by the brainwashed humans of Point Place only to fire-breath the food out of his mouth was from him. Kudos to you.

Ben2Dartmouth also suggest at some point to use the theme song of “That 70’s Show”, “In the Street”. Think of it as Randy’s favorite song. He was also playing it in the previous chapter.

The jab towards Trump is pretty much my own opinions on him. I’ll leave it at that.

The other jab, also reflects my opinions on the Star Wars fandom and what it has overall become. I will tell you this, a RL friend told me his thoughts about Legends that was the same as Weyer’s statement in the beginning of “Cleaning Duties”. A chunk of it was not that good.

One good thing about the long gap between this and the previous chapter is that it gave me some time to watch some of “That 70’s Show”. So I hope I got Donna’s lines correctly.

The scene with Rory pretending to be the Rip Hunter lookalike was something that just came to me. It was executing the idea that was the hard part. I hope I got it to flow smoothly here.

The scene where the Doctor and Skrull Eric talk about Donna Noble was, of course, inspired by the “Well, that’s alright then” scene from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special “The Giggle”.

The part of River trying retrieve the artifacts of Dr. Strange-92131 was originally gonna have her accompanied by the Clea and Wong variants of that Earth. But Movie-Brat had plans for that Clea, as he wrote down in “New Discoveries”, when I brought it up to the other IC writers. We worked out a compromise which will fully play out in one of the epilogues.

I originally planned to kill off the Skrulls posing as Sheng, Eric, Fez, and Randy. Until I saw they had more potential as recurring villains in a future IC fic, whether by me or another writer.

The part of the Skrulls exposing Korra and Asami as lovers was to show that the Skrulls are still a powerful faction in the IC Multiverse. Even when one of their bases is lost.

The part of the Doctor briefly calling Korra, Kyoshi, is based on an idea that Move-Brat has discussed with some of us on the IC Discord chatroom. That’s all I’ll say for now.

The scene with Kroton in the Glory was inspired by a conversation between L1701E and SC8 on Discord and the first chapter of “Multiverse Podcast” by SC8 (for those reading IC on ff.net, SC8’s IC fics can be only found on AO3). That scene was a last minute thing, but was still fun to write.

The scene with Replicon at the end was another idea that randomly came to me. Thought it might be interesting for a foe that got stuck on Earth-4444 that Korra would deal with or to borrow from TV Tropes, An Outside the Context Problem.

The thought of “Wait until they get a load of me” line is, of course, a nod to the most famous line from Jack Nicholson’s Joker from Batman ’89.

That’s all for the Author Notes. Tofa and see you fans next time.

Chapter 5: Epilogue 1

Notes:

Glad that I got this done quicker than I expected (by my standards at least).

Now on with the show!

Chapter Text

Earth-92131

New York City

It was a sunny afternoon in the Big Apple and, despite the regular supervillain attacks, it happened to be a quiet day. Well, as quiet as New York City can be. But then, a certain Time/Space Machine landed next to the Sanctum Sanctorum. With the famous Vorwp, Vorwp sound. The TARDIS doors opened and out came the Doctor, his wife, and two companions.

“Are you sure this is the right place River?” Rory asked.

“I’m sure of it,” River said. She put one of her fingers in her mouth and pointed it out. A part of her Time Lady half sensing where and when they are. “Yep, New York City of Earth-92131.”

“Remember being on this Earth. Helped Ben Grimm set up a date, oh, and also we were held captive by the Dr. Doom of this world.” The Doctor reminisced. “Don’t worry we escaped and defeated that villain.”

“And let me guess. You were the third wheel on that date.” River asked.

“Well, to be fair, during that adventure, I was wearing a long scarf and introduced myself with jelly babies. Besides Sarah Jane recently stopped being my companion, so I wasn’t exactly in the mood for a new one just yet.” The Doctor explained.

“Another new adventure you just remembered?” Amy asked.

The Doctor continued. “Yes, perhaps we shall go to the Baxter Building and catch up with Ben, plus I wanted to meet a Reed Richards that is a hero. After, of course, we return the magic artifacts to Clea.”

After walking for a couple of blocks, the time travelers reached the Sanctum Sanctorum of that universe. River then knocked on the door and the Wong of that world answered them. As soon as he saw River, Wong’s expression changed from somber to happy. Knowing that she got what Clea asked her to do.

After Wong escorted them to the parlor of the magical building, Clea entered the room. Her expression was one of joy and happiness that River had returned her husband’s Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto to her.

Clea hugged River in gratitude and said. “I can’t thank you enough, Ms. Song.”

“Darling please, it’s Professor Song. But yes, the pleasure is all mine.” River replied.

“Were you able to find out who killed my husband?” Clea asked, her tone was somber now.

River answered. “A bunch naughty Skrulls had set up base on Earth-702 where your husband was investigating their activity there it seemed. They captured me for a while as I tracked your husband down, but my husband and his companions were able to free me, along with a couple of prisoners, and set those Skrulls straight out of that world.”

“Your husband?” Clea said curiously. She then turned and saw the Doctor. “Ah, you must be the Doctor that I have heard so much about. Ben Grimm has spoken highly of you.”

“Pleasure is all mine ma’am.” The Doctor shook Clea’s hand.

“Thank you for avenging my husband,” Clea said, grateful towards the time travelers. She put on the Cloak of Levitation on and seemed to have become the new Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-92131. But then her expression changed to a puzzled expression.

“What does that mean?” Amy asked a bit confused. “Because that face you’re having can’t be good.”

“The Cloak. It’s telling me that I am not destined to become the Sorcerer Supreme of this reality.” Clea answered.

“Then who is the successor of Dr. Strange supposed to be?” Wong asked.

Clea continued. “Someone from another Earth, another universe. Earth-060322 is where I am supposed to go and train her.”

Suddenly Clea vanished in a flash of light, to Amy and Rory’s shock.

Wong then broke the silence. “I believe Clea has teleported to the Earth where the next Sorcerer Supreme hails from.”

“Wonderful, I am sure that Luz will make an excellent Sorcerer Supreme.” The Doctor stated.

Everyone in the room, except River, just stared at the Time Lord.

Wong, for the first time in a long time, said. “What?”

“Sorry,” River explained. “Been having a lot of timey-wimey memory issues throughout his many lives.”

Wong just nodded knowing that this would be the best statement that was being presented to him.

River then remembered something. “Here, catch” She then threw Wong a tiny cylinder.

Before Wong could respond, River answered. “It contains the shrunken corpse of Dr. Strange. Recommend that you dowse the container in water to turn the body back to its original size.”

The sorcerer just walked towards the Sanctum’s kitchen. These were, well, strange in his mind. And he has seen it all.

The time travelers returned to the TARDIS afterwards.

“Are you sure you want to go?” Amy asked. “I thought at least we were going to wait for Dr. Strange’s funeral.”

“Positively sure.” The Doctor answered. “Besides, we’re hunting Skrulls.” He said the last sentence in an Elmer Fludd accent.

His companions and wife just rolled their eyes.

The Doctor then asked his wife. “So River, where and when do you want me to drop you off? Now that my ship can travel the Multiverse, I wonder if you want to be dropped off in a universe that is not our own?”

“Actually,” River responded. “I want to travel with you for the time being. You, you I mean. At least until this Multiverse business is concluded.”

“Don’t you know how these Multiverse adventures end?” Rory asked. “You are the biggest expert on the Doctor after all.”

“I’m the dark as much as anyone else has on these adventures my husband is having throughout this Multiverse,” River answered. “And I’m determined to see how it ends.”

Everyone else in the TARDIS just shrugged. More help against the Skrull wouldn’t hurt.

River, however, knew how it would end for her parents. She remembered the last time she saw Amy and Rory before, in Manhattan. In a cemetery with the Weeping Angels.

Raggedy Man. Goodbye.

Earth-4444

Republic City

In a seedy bar on the tough side of the city. The Bio-Borg called Replicon was having a drink. He thought the alcohol in it would somehow taste differently on this Earth compared to the one he came from. Not really.

Two individuals, a man and a woman, approached his table. So he stopped drinking and faced them as they sat down on the opposite side.

Replicon then spoke giddily. “Glad to see that you guys got my message.” He then smiled wide. “So do any of you two have any questions that I need answering?”

“A lot.” The woman said. “But first, why should we recruit you to the Triple Threat Triad?”

Replicon explained. “Well, you all know that the entire city has been experiencing robberies at the biggest banks within it in the last couple of days. And that each robbery has been committed by the bosses of the Triads respectively, except, of course, the Triple Threat.”

“Yeah.” The man said. “Biggest news in this city. Well, second biggest news, since the Avatar turns out to be gay.”

“Well, all those robberies were done by me,” Replicon exclaimed.

Both thugs then laughed.

“Really.” The woman said with skepticism. “You? You’re the most unassuming guy in this bar.”

“Oh, you mean how I look now.” Replicon then smiled. “How about this then.” He then shifted his face into the form of the gangster woman.

The woman herself was a bit shocked and then produced a small burst of fire in her hand.

Her accomplice then said, his expression unchanged asked. “What are you, some kind of spirit?”

“You mean those funny things here that wouldn’t look out of place in a cartoon or one of Zach Easel’s works. Then no, I am a Bio-Borg from another Earth.” Replicon explained, his voice now the woman’s.

“A what?” The woman was confused, along with her accomplice. Who was this guy?

Replicon continued. “My name was originally Jack Ledger, but now I call myself Replicon. I was once a discredited actor with too much drama attached to me until a brilliant man named Cybron gave me this awesome power. I was recently captured by aliens from another dimension, but I escaped and ended up here.”

“Interesting story, that wouldn’t look out of place in one of my son’s panel books.” The man stated.

The woman, who was more skeptical and had a flame in her hand, said. “But why commit those robberies? And can you please turn back to the previous face you had, this one is just weird to look at.”

Replicon, as he shifted his face back to the previous one he wore, said. “To prove how valuable I can be to you guys. Not to mention, judging from what I’ve read on the news since I got here, this Avatar woman seems to have been giving you guys some tough luck. Plus, I helped you guys get rid of some competition.”

The man sighed. “Let me guess, you want to join our Triad. Why us?”

“Simple,” Replicon responded, still having that smile on his face. “Because I want to have fun in this new world.” He then laughed knowing that they had to say yes because of his Bio-Borg powers.

The man nodded to the woman, and the latter then stopped her firebending. The lead gangster said. “I don’t know who exactly you are, but our operations have taken a hit ever since Tokuga disappeared thanks to the Avatar.”

“What you’re saying is that I’m hired,” Replicon stated. “When does the fun begin?”

In Replicon’s mind, he couldn’t wait to run around circles on this Avatar chick. This was going to be fun in his mind.

Notes:

As said at the beginning of this epilogue, I am glad that I got done a bit quickly.

First I’d like to thank Movie-Brat for his input on how to write River returning the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto to Clea. Kudos to you.

As for River knowing how her parents leave the Doctor, I thought that would make for an interesting story arc for her in IC. Given that the Doctor’s timeline is now wonky in IC right now.

Originally I had Replicon joining the Red Lotus, but then, as I was about to write that scene I thought he didn’t know how to contact them given how secretive that organization is. So I decided on the Triple Threat Triad instead.

Replicon’s real name Jack Ledger is nod to Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Mainly in that when DMing L1701E, he told me that he intended for Replicon to be the Skysurfer-verse equivalent to the Joker.

Next Chapter: Epilogue 2

Chapter 6: Epilogue 2

Notes:

I finally am able to complete this fic after two and a half years.

After the elections of last week (as of writing this) I’m sure half of everyone or more could use some cheering up.

On with the show.

Chapter Text

Earth-C131

The Smith’s Residence

There was a ring at the front door.

“I’ll get it.” Jerry Smith announced to the rest of the house, no one batted an eye or ear. He decided just to open the front door.

Jerry was greeted by four strange individuals, one tall bohemian man wearing a brown coat and multi-colored scarf, an eloquent woman wearing a red fox hunting coat, another woman dressed more casually wearing a purple leather coat, and the strangest of this strange bunch, a tin robot dog with a red visor for eyes.

The bohemian man then spoke rather quickly. “Hello, you must be Jerry Smith. Well, a Jerry Smith. Nice to meet you all the same, I’m the Doctor. Would you like a jelly baby?” The Doctor then handed out a bag of jelly babies to Jerry.

The woman wearing the purple leather jacket then greeted Jerry with a smile. “Hi, I’m Brown, Stephanie Brown. We’re here to see Rick.”

Jerry sighed. “What did he do this time? If this is a thing involving one of his crazy experiments or are you some weird friends of…”

The eloquent woman interrupted him. “We have not met Rick, I mean this particular Rick Sanchez yet. At least where the Doctor is concerned.”

“And you are?” Jerry asked the eloquent woman.

“Romanadvoratrelundar. But you can call me Romana or maybe Fred.” The eloquent woman, who Jerry decided to call Romana, stated.

The robot dog then introduced himself. “I am K9 Mark II at your service.”

The high-pitched voice threw Jerry off a bit.

The four strangers then entered the house.

“Fine,” Jerry said snidely. “Enter my house like you people own the place.”

Beth then entered the front room and saw the new guests. She sighed and said. “Let me guess, your old friends of Dad.”

The Doctor introduced himself again. “Hello, Mrs. Smith. I’m the Doctor.” He quickly shook Beth’s hand for a moment. “And no, we’re not old friends of your father. We’re gonna meet him for the first time. At least the one from Earth-C137.”

Before Beth responded to them, she heard Rick’s voice coming from the garage. “Don’t worry Beth, sooner or later, Morty and I were going to be directly involved in this stupid crossover.” He then let out a drunken burp.

Rick Sanchez from Earth-C137 came out of the garage and into the living room where everyone else was, followed by Morty coming from his upstairs bedroom doing… well… If this was a visual medium, then a person watching this would see Morty zipping up his pants. You can guess what he was doing in his bedroom.

“Aww, geez,” Morty whined, not wanting to be involved in someone else’s adventures. He already had enough to deal with when being Rick’s sidekick. He wished Rick was still hanging out with those crows.

“Relax Morty, we are only here for your grandpa,” Stephanie explained. “Well, the grandpa that you know.”

Morty wondered how this woman, a rather attractive one who was only a few years older than him, knew of him and Rick as he walked downstairs.

“Cut to the chase assholes,” Rick said, not having any time for this vagueness from these strangers. They were clearly from another universe, two in fact given the younger blond was from a universe separate from the other three.

Rick continued. “You want me for something. And not one of those assholes from the Citadel.”

“True.” The Doctor stated. “But I believe that you will have a vested interest in the person we are looking for is Rick Sanchez.”

Rick replied. “As I said, go to the Citadel. They might be having a civil war with each other at the moment. But I’m pretty sure that you’ll find the Rick you’re looking for there.”

“That’s where we started,” Romana said. “I don’t think you realize how terrible the situation is ever since the Citadel’s President disappeared during the Dusting.”

Rick replied. “Not my problem. Go to another Rick.”

Stephanie responded. “Listen you jerk. It took a while to find the universe you live in right now. Besides, don’t you want to find the version of you that killed your family?”

“We’re not dead,” Jerry said, a bit annoyed at what was said.

But Morty and Beth had an idea what was going to be said next.

“The master and mistresses are referring to Diane and Beth Sanchez’s from the universe designated as C137,” K9 stated robotically. “Killed by a bomb sent by the Rick Sanchez of Universe-R105 in response to the Rick Sanchez of Universe-C137 refusing the offer of the other Rick Sanchez to the invention of dimensional portal travel.”

Morty, Beth, and Jerry were agape at what K9 just said.

Beth was the first to yell at her Dad. “Dammit Dad, first Space me! Now this!”

Morty stammered. “I didn’t know… I… I… I mean that I just found out about this too.”

Jerry was still agape at what he just heard.

Rick then spoke his tone a lot more aggressive now. “Why are you nerds tracking down the asshole that killed my original family?”

“Ever since the Dusting and the Central Finite Curve being destroyed by it, that Rick has seen the wider Multiverse as one big petri dish. The biggest experiment to try out new weapons and inventions on.” The Doctor explained. “The Dusting has let him loose and I can’t allow him to go unchecked, especially for all of the chaos that he might unleash.”

“He separated me from my Earth and now I can’t get back to it now,” Stephanie said, angry at being separated from her friends and family.

“Universe-0 is no longer accessible to the rest of the Multiverse,” K9 stated. “We believe that Rick-R105 or someone else has somehow hidden it.”

Rick then asked. “Why me? Surely that asshole has screwed over other Ricks.”

“You have spent several decades tracking down your variant and…” The Doctor was about to continue explaining but Rick-C137 interrupted the Time Lord.

“And I can’t find him. As you said, Doctor, the Central Finite Curve has been destroyed thanks to Thanos and his stupid glove. The guy could be anywhere in the Multiverse.” Rick explained.

“So why not combine all our heads together.” The Doctor stated. “You know that other you tricks. My companions and I are geniuses, and you know what they say that two heads are better than one. So how about four extra heads.”

Rick then sighed and then turned to the Doctor and his companions. “Fine.” He then turned to his family at the moment. “Welp, guess we are officially a part of Infinity Crisis right now.” He then went to the kitchen to grab another beer to numb the pain of being reminded of losing his Diane and Beth.

Summer then walked into the room, saw the new house guests, and said. “What did I miss?”

Earth-702

Point Place, Wisconsin

Point Place was trying to return to normal. But in the aftermath of being taken over by aliens from another universe, cleanup was difficult. Discussions in Point Place were being made about what was to be done with the technology, though most agreed to wait until the Doctor came back to retrieve it and out of their lives. So they decided to guard the former underground base that the aliens used.

Nothing interesting happened for the next several days. Until one evening a strange man walked up to the entrance of the former Skrull base. The townspeople stared at the man, mainly in how he was dressed. The stranger to Point Place was dressed as an SS officer from World War 2.

Red Foreman approached the stranger with an angry expression on his face. Being a WW2 veteran, he was mad that this man had the gall to dress like that, especially what this town just went through.

“Listen you dumbass, that outfit is disrespectful not just to this country, but the entire world!” Red yelled.

The stranger just chuckled. “Where I’m from, this uniform would be seen as the highest rank of honor.” He spoke in an American accent, surprising some of the other people.

Red didn’t listen to what the stranger said and tried to strike him. Only to be consumed by a fireball that came from behind the stranger. Another man then came from out of the darkness, his hands covered in green flames, along with wearing some kind of futuristic bodysuit.

“Yeah, burn motherfucker!” Emil Antonowsky of Earth-1987R yelled sadistically at what he had just done.

His accomplice’s expression didn’t change at all as this happened.

The residents of Point Place who just saw what happened had horrified expressions on their faces as Red’s corpse glowed with a green aura.

The first stranger then introduced himself. “I am John Smith. Reichsmarschall for the Greater German Empire in North America. My… associate and I are here for Skrull technology that your town has at the moment.”

The Reichsmarschall paused for a bit before he said the word associate, referring to Antonowsky. Thankfully for Smith, the burning madman didn’t notice the pause.

Smith continued. “Hand over the Skrull technology now…”

Antonowsky yelled out, interrupting Smith. “Or die by burning your asses.”

Eric walked up to the front crowd, hoping to be like Luke Skywalker or any of the heroes he watched and read growing up. He did his best not to show fear at the still-burning corpse of his dad and the two men responsible for his murder. Still, despite his best efforts, there was fear in his voice. “Yeah, but… okay the alien tech is yours.”

Eric thought he was choosing his battles wisely. After all, one of those men can manipulate radioactive flames. So it was the best choice to make to just give the tech back to those two guys. “So, are you friends with the Doctor?”

“Eric?!” Donna yelled, a bit for saying such a stupid question.

Antonowsky spoke. “What, that bitch? No, we work for the aliens that hate her.”

Eric, a bit confused, said. “Her?”

“Wait, you guys work for the Skrulls?” Another Point Place resident said.

“No, however, I will say that this Earth is now under new management,” Smith announced.

After the Reichsmarschall said this, six beings were trans-matted behind Smith and Antonowsky. Six Daleks.

“MOVE ASIDE, OR YOU ALL WILL BE EXTERMINATED!” One of them yelled.

Donna threw a rock at the Dalek in defiance, only to pay the price.

“EXTERMINATE!” The Dalek yelled and it fired its ray gun at Donna, killing her. But not before she screamed in pain.

“NOW DO AS YOU ARE TOLD AND DELIVER THE SKRULL TECHNOLOGY TO US! MOVE!”

The residents of Point Place did as they were told. Not having much choice in defiance, as Donna showed them.

The Daleks were rounding up any townspeople that tried to flee, along with the yell of exterminate and a scream for any that tried to defy them.

Smith and Antonowsky were trans-matted to the Dalek saucer that had just decloaked above them.

Above Earth-702

Dalek Fleet 632 Command Ship

Maximus the Mad of Universe-61065 smiled in glee as the Dalek Fleet began bombarding Earth-702. Their weapons were powerful enough to deform whole continents.

Smith and Antonowsky approached Maximus, who was standing with two important Daleks. A red-armored General Dalek and a very special Dalek, whose armor flowed with a variety of colors and had several energy rings orbiting around its upper casing. It was the Dalek Multiversal Strategist.

“Report.” Unlike other Daleks, the Multiversal Strategist spoke in a calmer voice. Which unnerved the League of Skaro members, the present company included.

Reichsmarschall Smith reported. “We have successfully secured the underground base that the Skrulls were using.”

“Yeah,” Antonowsky said enthusiastically. “I even got to kill someone with my awesome powers for the first time.”

“Glad to see your training has paid off,” Maximus stated.

Then Smith and Antonowsky joined Maximus in watching the Daleks’ ships continue their bombardment of Earth-702. Smith noticed that the Daleks seemed to be firing a lot of their weapons at the UK, but decided to not say anything.

Smith thought back on how when his oversight of the Reich’s experiments on dimensional travel caused the Daleks to notice his world. He decided not to tell Himmler or any other high-ranking Reich officials about his otherworldly activities yet. But he knew that sooner or later, Himmler would eventually find out given how big this is.

Though the Daleks, besides helping and expanding the Reich’s resources to other worlds, were also helping Smith on a personal project. A way to revive his son Thomas, without any of the genetic flaws that caused him to be voluntarily euthanized by Nazi eugenic laws.

Smith hoped with the Daleks, he could finally rebuild his family after helping these aliens conquer the Multiverse. For his Earth, which was labeled by the Daleks as X10, with their resources that they can make the Reich great again.

Smith then smiled. Happy that the choices he made will lead to a bright future for his world.

Notes:

And done.

I am happy that this is done after so long. Writing this final epilogue did help clear after that orange fascist got elected again. God I hope the world survives his second term.

Enough of that dreadfulness, on with the Author Notes:

The whole scene with the Fourth Doctor, his companions, Rick Sanchez, Morty Smith, and the rest of the Smith family is a prologue to another IC arc I have on my mind.

For the Fourth Doctor, Romana II, and K9 Mark II this takes place between “Shada” and “The Leisure Hive”.

The Stephanie Brown, as stated in a previous AN goes by Batgirl, traveling with the Fourth Doctor is from Earth-0, the Earth of the mainline DC Comics to JB introduced sort of in his IC fics and is being hidden by Bugs Bunny. Being separated from her Earth due to Rick Prime’s actions has not soured her mood overall, though she does miss her friends and family. She also pretty much shares the history of her Post-Crisis counterpart.

Romana suggesting to maybe call her Fred is a nod to the joke from the beginning of “The Ribos Operation” in her intro scene.

For the main versions of Rick, Morty, and the Smith family this takes between Seasons 4 and 5.

The gist with the Citadel of Ricks in IC at the moment is that when the Dusting happened, along with the Central Finite Curve breaking down, Evil Morty was able to escape during the chaos into the wider Multiverse. As a result, the Citadel fell into chaos even after the Dusting was undone by the heroes of Earths 1, 2, 38, 51, and 199999 and a civil war between the Ricks and Mortys, plus the less-privileged Ricks, has begun.

Though some Ricks and Mortys have begun traveling into the wider Multiverse. I’ll leave it to the other IC writers to see if they want to put their ideas into that plot point.

I planned for a long time to have Earth-702 be conquered by the Daleks, though the additions of League of Skaro members, Emil Antonowsky and Reichsmarschall John Smith, were added later on.

Antonowsky has received a decent amount of superpower training since his IC debut in L1701E’s “Nightcat and Man-Bull” and Earth-702 is his first conquest as a League of Skaro member.

Reichsmarschall Smith is from the Amazon Prime adaptation of “The Man in the High Castle”. For him in IC, this after the third season of the show. Sometime after Juliana Crain teleported to a different universe, the Nazi’s dimensional experiments attracted the attention of the Daleks’ and Smith became the Daleks ambassador for the Reich. Even though he hasn’t told the rest of the Nazis about his League of Skaro membership. Unlike Antonowsky, Reichsmarschall Smith has been a part of several Daleks conquests.

Thank you my fans and fellow IC writer in the writing process of this one. It was long, but it was also worth it. Tofa and see you in another fic.

The End… for now.
