Characters read PJO: Book 1- The Lightning Thief

Summary:

The Fates decided enough was enough and sent Percy Jackson and his friends back in time. Five books, a ton of teenagers, and a note appear in front of the Council of Olympus. Everyone is confused. What do the Fates wish to achieve by doing this?

Or, just another reading the books fic that hopefully gets finished!

(Each chapter has been edited since the original publication date, so I would suggest a re-read.)

Notes:

There's no percabeth in this story, sorry

Chapter 1: Prologue

Summary:

Each chapter has a POV, which I will put in each chapter summary.

Percy POV

Chapter Text

It started as just a normal day at camp. Hephaestus and Athena cabin were helping to repair Camp after the war with Gaea. As I was heading towards the beach to try to relax for once, Jason ran over to talk.

“Hey bro,” I said.

“Hey Perce, do you mind helping me with my sword fighting class? I got the beginners, so I’ll need an extra set of eyes.”

I sighed, about to say yes, when someone suddenly exclaimed. I turned to look at Jason, and he was already staring at me. He seemed to be asking a silent question, which I responded to with a nod. We sprinted to where the scream came from.

“What happened? Is everyone okay?” Jason asked, concerned as Piper wasn’t one to startle.

“It’s Annabeth! We were just walking over to the archery range, and mid-sentence, she cut off, and so I looked over to her, and she was gone!” Piper started rambling. I looked her in the eyes and tried to reassure her.

“Hey, I’m sure Annabeth’s going to be fine. She’s not Wise Girl for nothing,” I said, mostly for myself at this point. Most demigods don’t just up and leave.

We tried reasoning out where Annabeth went when we suddenly got sucked down into the earth. “Oh fuck me,” I thought as the earth pressed around me. The feeling reminded me of a certain dirt faced bitch.

“Ow!! Get off me!” someone yelled, sounding suspiciously like Thalia, as they felt people land on them.

“Thalia? Is that you?” I asked.

“Yeah? And are you a whale? I’m getting crushed down here!” I quickly got up, offended at the accusation. Like, sure, my dad may be Poseidon, but I’m not a whale.

“Thalia, it's been so long!” Annabeth said while walking over to hug her.

Thalia crushed her in a bear hug, and they pulled apart when someone cleared their throat.

“Who dares interrupt the Olympian Winter Solstice meeting!” Lord Zeus thundered. I rolled my eyes. He really should be the god of drama. Missed opportunity. Annabeth and I shared a look. She knew to talk first before my non-existent filter made an appearance.

“Lord Zeus, do you not know who we are?” Annabeth asked.

“It is obvious we do not, so state your name and business,” declared Hera, rolling her eyes. Just after she said that, a note landed in Athena’s lap.

Athena read the note quickly. “Here is our answer,” she said before reading the note for everyone else to hear. “So it sounds like you demigods are here from the future, and we need to read a series of books about a great hero.” Okay, Captain Obvious.

“Yes, that is what it sounds like,” Zeus agreed. “Now state your name and godly parent!” For my introduction, I already knew he was going to be so dramatic. Like always.

Annabeth stepped forward, “My name is Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena.” I barely caught the grimace on her face as she said Athena.

“I’m Piper Mclean, daughter of Aphrodite.” Aphrodite gave her a blinding smile. I sighed and then stepped up to introduce myself.

“I’m Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon.”

Zeus blew up at this, of course. “Poseidon! You broke the oath—”

Thalia cut him off (thank the gods!), and said, “I am Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus and lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis.” This made Zeus shut up quickly. I looked over at Artemis because for her, Zoe was still her lieutenant. I looked down, not wanting to dwell on her.

“Our names are Conner—

“—and Travis—”

“Stoll! We are sons of Hermes!” Connor and Travis said in unison while giving him a bright smile, which he returned, amused.

“My name is Chris Rodrigeuz, son of Hermes,” he said while giving Hermes a small smile.

“Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares,” Clarisse said proudly while Ares gave her a big smirk and a head nod. Ha, meathead.

“I’m Will Solace, son of Apollo,” Will said while Apollo gave him a blinding smile that most people had to look away from.

“Nico di Angelo, son of Hades,” then added quickly, “born before the oath.” Hades nodded and then started looking around at us, as if looking for someone… My heart dropped. I realized he must be looking for Bianca. I felt sick.

“My name is Leo Valdez, bad boy supreme! I’m a son of Hephaestus!” Leo exclaimed loud and proud. He got a small smile from his dad, but a smack from Piper.

“I am Grover Underwood, satyr and Lord of the Wild,” said Grover.

“My name is Reyna Ramirez-Arellano, daughter of Bellona,” Reyna said unwaveringly, even as the gods looked around, surprised to see a Roman among the Greeks.

“I am Jason Grace, son of Jupiter,” Jason said while he received a warm smile from his sister and a proud look from Zeus, which was quickly cut off by Hera glaring at Zeus, most likely for his infidelity.

“My name is Frank Zhang, son of Mars,” Frank said timidly, most likely because he still hasn’t come to terms with who his dad is.

“I’m Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto,” then added on, like Nico did, “born before the oath.” Hades looked shocked at this.

“My name is Rachel Elizabeth Dare, and I am the Oracle for Camp Half-Blood!” Rachel said before chuckling at how Apollo brightened up so fast.

After a few beats of nothing happening, I said, “How are we supposed to read without the books?” Suddenly, a book fell from who knows where and landed on Jason's head. All of the Seven burst out laughing.

“I didn’t know you moved on from bricks,” Leo said between gasps of air.

“Har-Har,” Jason glared, still rubbing the back of his head.

Athena spoke. “Since we’ve gotten that out of the way, who would like to read?” Hestia raised her hand.

“I will.” She cleared her throat and read the title, “ The Lightning Thief.”

Annabeth, Grover, and I all groaned, knowing this was going to be about our first quest.

“What is it?” Jason asked.

“You’ll see,” I responded, running my hands through my hair.

“Chapter One: I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher.”
