Chapter 1: #1 Falling Asleep Together

Summary:

The gang reconnects after the events of the Season 2 finale

Chapter Text

“This is nice.” Lois snuggled into Clark’s left side, her head resting comfortably on his chest.

“So nice…” Clark dropped a kiss to the top of her head, his arm tightening around her, thrilled to be back in the comfort of his own bed.

“Just, really, really nice!” Jimmy tucked himself into Clark’s right side.

Lois lifted her head and looked at Jimmy. “Jimmy, Clark and I were trying to have a moment.”

“I can’t have a moment with him too?” Jimmy snuggled closer.

“Aww, I missed you guys!” Clark held them both a little tighter, a feeling of complete contentment washing over him as his eyes began to droop.

He reached for his comforter and pulled it over the three of them.

Bleary eyed he looked up to the top bunk. “Kara, you okay up there?”

“I do not wish to snuggle, Kal El!”

“Okay, well, good night everyone!”

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois gulped down a mouthful of coffee. "He’s supposed to be a real recluse. No real friends to speak of, but always has a woman on his arm and a different one in his bed. And he’s rich, like crazy rich! Richest man in Gotham at least. Vicki said—”

Clark and Jimmy groaned as they filled their own coffee mugs.

“What?”

“Lois, these Gotham stories are getting kind of old.” Jimmy said. “And you're making Clark jealous with all your Bruce Wayne chatter.”

Lois turned to Clark. “I am?”

“No! I’m not jealous! I don’t care if he has tons of women! Just as long as he stays away from…uh, my woman.”

“Oh, please, he barely spoke to me! And I could never fall for a man like that!”

Clark visibly relaxed and gave her a crooked smile.

Lois swallowed another gulp of coffee. “Oh! Did I tell you I also met Batman? Well, not met him, met him. But I’m pretty sure I saw him on my way back to Vicki’s apartment, it was kind of dark, but…”

Notes:

I sorta imagine Lois took the job in Gotham and stayed with Vicki. In my head she quit after a week and came running back to Clark.

Edit: See chapter #18

Chapter 3: #3 Music

Summary:

It’s a special day…

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois pulled back the curtain, revealing herself to Jimmy.

“How do I look?” she asked, twirling. She couldn’t remember the last time she wore a dress, let alone a floor-length white one.

Jimmy beamed.“Beautiful! Clark is totally going to cry!”

Lois looked at herself in the mirror, her own eyes wet. “Is he nervous? Oh, I bet he is nervous!”

Jimmy shook his head. “Nope! He’s the calmest I’ve ever seen him!”

“Really?” Lois blinked away her tears.

“Yep! Now, are you ready?”

A final glance in the mirror and Lois took Jimmy’s arm as the music started.

“Let’s go!”

Notes:

This one has a couple of follow ups later on.

Chapter 4: #4 Pet Adoption

Summary:

L&C deliver a gift.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois carefully carried the cardboard box in her arms as she and Clark walked toward the modern-looking farmhouse.

Clark cleared his throat as they stepped onto the porch. “Lois, I don’t know if this is a good idea. I know they’re kind of our friends now, but…”

“They helped Jimmy and I find you, and they helped you fight Brainiac! I wanted to do something nice for them.”

“I think Jimmy giving them the last of his money was pretty nice…” Clark said under his breath as he knocked on the door.

The farmhouse door opened, and Leslie gestured for them to come inside.

“Babe, the reporters are here!” she called, looking Lois up and down.

Lois, now nervous, held out the chirping cardboard box for Leslie to take. “A gift for you and Rory!”

Leslie opened the box and let out an uncharacteristic squeal of delight. “Babe, they bought us baby chickens!”

Notes:

I like to think they kept Jimmy’s money and built their dream farm house.

Please refer to this art I found on X here

Chapter 5: #5 Comfort after a bad day

Summary:

Clark feels rough after his first exposure to Kryptonite.

Chapter Text

Lois followed Clark into his childhood bedroom, watching as he flopped onto his bed, his expression pained.

“Feeling alright?” She squeezed onto the bed beside him, stroking his forehead gently.

“The green rock.” He sounded pitiful.

Lois’ frowned. “I thought you were okay? You should have said something earlier.”

“I just wanted to get through Thanksgiving with you guys.”

Lois crossed the room to shut the bedroom door. Returning to his side, she slid into the bed beside him.

“I’ll take care of you. Always.” She stroked his chest.

Clark felt better already. “You’re all I need.”

Chapter 6: #6 Swimming

Summary:

The Beach episode

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The summer sun beat down on them, and from her beach towel, Lois cracked an eye open to glance at her boyfriend, who lay on the towel beside her. Sunglasses on, and his body still, he appeared to be napping.

She whistled appreciatively at his impressive figure. Shirtless, his bare chest seemed to glisten in the hot sun, his skin a golden brown hue.

Lois knew she had the hottest man on this beach.

A group of young women in skimpy bikinis scuttled past, whispering and nudging each other, not so subtly pointing at Clark.

“That’s right, ladies, he’s hot!” Lois called after them. “And he’s all mine!”

“Lois?” Clark lifted his head, sliding his sunglasses down his nose to look at her.

She grinned at him, jumping to her feet. A sudden urge to show off her man filled her.

“Ready for another swim, big boy?”

Notes:

Here’s hoping we get “The beach episode” in season 3.

Chapter 7: #7 Clothing Swap

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Waking up in bed alone, Lois was momentarily confused before the previous evening's events rushed back to her; if possible, her entire body blushed in response.

"Clark?" she called. Where was he? His apartment consisted of two rooms--the bathroom and…well, the rest of the apartment.

She glanced around the bed for her clothing, giggling as she found her shirt shredded on the floor beside her, remembering how enthusiastically Clark had removed it from her last night.

She couldn't walk around the apartment naked. What if Jimmy came home? She rummaged around the bed, found Clark's pink pajama shirt, and pulled it over her head.

"Perfect." She inhaled deeply. It smelled just like him.

"Clark?" she called again.

A gust of wind, and he was standing before her as Superman, a grin on his face, holding up a tray with two coffees in one hand and a small paper bag in the other.

"I got us breakfast!"

She smiled shyly and patted the bed beside her, indicating he should join her.

He gave her cheek a quick kiss. "Good morning."

She blushed again. "Good morning."

"Nice shirt." He grinned approvingly.

Notes:

Where the heck was Jimmy? 😀

Chapter 8: #8 Dinner Date

Summary:

After Kiss kiss, fall in a portal

Chapter Text

They sat crammed into the corner booth at The Daily Bite. At nine thirty at night, they were grateful to be the only customers there, which afforded them a certain amount of privacy.

“Sorry we didn’t get our date,” Clark said, his hand reaching for hers. “I had a whole thing planned. Dinner—”

She shushed him with a finger to his lips. “I had the perfect date.”

“You got kidnapped.” He took her hand and kissed it. “I got tricked by an imp. Then we got tossed around the multiverse.”

She shrugged. “Still, I’ve had worse dates.”

“You deserve the best.”

She leaned in closer to him. “I have the best.”

Their lips met in a sweet kiss

Chapter 9: #9 Moving in together

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“I can’t believe you’re moving in with Lois. You’re leaving me!”

“We’re 24, Jimmy. We can’t sleep on bunk beds forever, can we?”

“Guess not,” Jimmy grumbled.

The pair lugged boxes down the stairs. Clark carried eight boxes stacked on top of each other while Jimmy trailed behind him, struggling with one box.

“It’s not like we’ll never see each other again. We work together 10 hours a day.”

“Fine. But I’m keeping the Xbox. And the PS5.”

Clark shrugged and smiled. “Fair enough.” They set their boxes down at the bottom of the stairs, and Clark craned his neck to see if the moving truck was coming.

“It’s not like I’m not happy for you.” Jimmy ducked his head. “I’m just going to miss you. That’s all.”

Clark pulled Jimmy into a bear hug. “I’ll miss you too, buddy.”

A horn beeping obnoxiously interrupted the pair. They looked toward the street to see Lois leap from the still-moving truck and run toward them, the driver yelling after her.

She shouted gleefully, running to embrace Clark. “It’s moving day! I’m so excited!”

Jimmy picked up his box and headed for the truck. “We all are...”

Notes:

Ahh poor Jimmy, maybe Kara needs a place to stay?

Chapter 10: #10 Enemies to Lovers

Summary:

Lois takes the job in Gotham.

Notes:

This is bit of a departure. 😀

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“You’ve done it again, Lane. I’m impressed.” Vicki held up the latest edition of the Gotham Gazette—Bruce Wayne’s Biggest Secret Exposed by Lois Lane, as the newsroom erupted into applause.

“Sorry, I scooped you, Vicki. Guess I’m just the better reporter.” Lois said, a hint of smugness in her tone.

Vicki tucked the newspaper under her arm. “I need to see you in my office.” She beckoned Lois with her index finger.

Lois gave her another smirk and trailed after her.

Vicki slammed the door after Lois and pulled her into a tight embrace.

“What’s happening?” Lois asked.

“I told you, I find you very impressive, Lois. Impressive enough to…”

“What?”

Vicki’s lips met hers, and Lois found herself smashed against the office wall, pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable she was finding her current predicament.

“Vicki…” Lois broke away from the kiss, breathless. “What are you doing?”

“I’m sorry, I know you’re dating Clark Kent…” Vicki turned away, embarrassed.

Lois pulled Vicki back into her arms and they kissed again.

“Clark, who?” Lois whispered.

Notes:

I have no idea what Bruce Wayne secret Lois exposed other than the obvious. I just needed a headline.

Chapter 11: #11 Soulmate AU

Summary:

Lois has been waiting all day for her darn soulmate to turn up. Where is he??

Notes:

Very AU.

Chapter Text

Lois was the only one left in the meeting room. She looked to the event organizer, Mr Wick, a graying man in his fifties, and he gave her a sympathetic smile.

"I'm sorry, dear. Perhaps he got held up," Wick offered kindly.

"What kind of person is late for a thing like this?" She had worn a skirt today, for crying out loud.

Her face was caked in makeup. And her thigh-high stockings itched.

"I'm very sorry, dear."

Lois busied herself, collecting her purse and coat.

Bang! The double doors into the meeting room flew open, and a man came crashing through. Glasses askew, hair standing on end. He wore a shirt and tie, the sleeves rolled up past his elbows.

One pant leg had a giant tear in it.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm late!" He apologized as he came to a stop in front of her. "Um, hi." his cheeks flushed bright red. "I'm Clark Kent."

"You're two hours late," she said quietly, but her heart rate increased. Despite his disheveled look, he was gorgeous.

"There was a train…train derailment. I had to stop and help. I'm sorry. But so many were injured."

"You're late because you were helping people?" Lois's eyes widened, and a soft, warm feeling for him came over her.

"Yes. But I'm very sorry I am late. This is important, too."

"Oh," Lois smiled up at him, noting his face flushed further. "No. I’m sorry…for…"

"You've been waiting a long time."

“I’m…I’m Lois Lane….”

"Ahem…" Mr. Wick approached, a small device in hand. "Shall we make this official?"

Lois nodded, and Clark smiled at her, giving his own nod.

"Excellent." Wick smiled and held the device to Lois' heart, waiting for it to beep. "Now, Mr. Kent." He did the same with Clark, and the device made a delightful little melody. "We have a match!"

Lois' heart soared, and when Clark took her hands in his, a rush of love for him ran through her.

Wick continued. "Congratulations, our calibrations were correct! You two are definitely soulmates!"

Clark beamed at her, and Lois beamed back.

Wick stepped away, rummaging at his desk. "Here you go, my dears, your welcome packs."

He handed them a folder labeled 'I've found my soulmate, now what?' "Oh, and keys to your room." He gave Clark a suggestive wink, to which he blushed.

"You're a little late for canapes, but dinner will be ready shortly. The dining room is on level six."

"Thank you." Clark squeezed Lois' hand. "Shall we go?" He asked her somewhat tentatively, his voice soothing to her ears.

Lois nodded. "Yes. I'm ready."

He smiled sweetly at her. "Me too. I've been waiting my whole life for you."

Chapter 12: #12 Lost Bet

Chapter Text

“Come on, Smallville.” Lois held the forkful of spicy noodles up to Clark’s lips. “They’re not that hot! One bite!”

“Lois, you’re dripping soup all over the bedsheets!”

Lois shoved the forkful into her own mouth. “Not spicy at all!” She declared. “What will it take for you to try some?”

Clark set his mild bowl of noodles aside. “You take the whole weekend off work and give me your undivided attention.”

“That’s not even a challenge.”

Clark thought again. “And you bake me a pie to wash down the taste of these horrible noodles.”

Lois smirked, amused. “You want me to make your mama’s pie?”

Clark screwed his face up. “Not my mama’s pie! Your pie!”

“Fine…here you go then!” She offered him another forkful of noodles.

Reluctantly, Clark took a bite. He chewed quickly and swallowed the noodles with a gulp.

“Well?” Lois asked.

He coughed and patted his chest. “I want my pie now.”

Lois set her noodle bowl down and reached across him to grab his phone from the bedside table.

“What are you doing?” Clark asked as she scrolled through his phone.

“Calling ma for her recipe!”

Chapter 13: #13 Raising Kids

Summary:

Ma & Pa and their superpowered kid.

Chapter Text

Jonathon entered the farmhouse kitchen, removed his cap, and hung it on the hook by the door.

“How did he go?” His wife asked, laying the last of the dishes on the dish rack and tossing her dish towel aside.

“Better.” Jonathan smiled with pride. “He’s learning fast, Martha. His pitch is much softer. His aim is still not great, but I only got one ball to the belly today.” He chuckled.

Martha chewed at her lip. “You sure he won’t hurt any of the other kids?”

“He's much more aware of his strength now. By the time baseball season comes around, he’ll be fine.”

Martha nodded but still appeared concerned.

“He’s a good kid, Martha. He’d never knowingly hurt anyone.”

“I know, Jonathan. I just worry. He’s still my baby boy, you know?”

“I know, sweetheart.” Jonathan dropped a kiss on her forehead. Pulling back, he smiled at her, giving the air a sniff. “Do I smell apple pie?”

“Yes, go wash up first,” She commanded, glancing out the kitchen window. Clark was on the grass, rolling around with the dog. “And get our son to wash his face and hands while you’re at it.”

Jonathan gave her another quick kiss, then headed out the door.

“Clark, let’s wash up! Mama’s made pie!”

Chapter 14: #14 Wildcard/Too hot to cuddle

Summary:

I wasn’t sure if wildcard meant wildcard literally or choose your own…anyway, I chose a random prompt I had laying around.

Chapter Text

Lois lay on Clark’s bed, fanning herself with today's edition of The Daily Planet. It was hot as hell in his apartment. And even hotter outside.

She eyed the broken air conditioner across the room.

Lois tossed the newspaper aside and sat up, the back of her neck wet with sweat.

“Clark? Where are you?” She said to the empty apartment. Maybe he could scoop her up and take them somewhere cool for the evening.

A familiar gush of wind swept through the apartment, and Superman stood before her.

“You called?”

“I’m sorry, were you busy?”

“Nope! I was just on my way back. I'm all yours!” He held his arms out for her, ready to embrace her.

“It’s too hot!” Lois backed away from him. She gestured to his broken air conditioner. “Any chance you can fix the AC?”

“We don’t need that.” He guided her to the bed and gestured for her to sit down. “Hold still and close your eyes, okay?”

Obediently Lois closed her eyes and waited.

A moment later, a rush of cool air swept over her from head to toe, instantly cooling her. She couldn’t help the soft moan escaping her lips.

“Better?”

“Yes!” She leaped to her feet and embraced him. “You are pretty darn handy in a heatwave!”

Chapter 15: #15 Bodyguard to Lovers

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Clark cleared his throat. “Ms. Lane? Your car has arrived.”

“I’m ready.” Lois smoothed down her black dress and stood up, accepting the arm he offered her.

“It was a beautiful service. A very touching tribute to your husband, ma’am. Now let’s get you home and—”

“Oh, hush.” She silenced him with a nudge of her hip into his as he guided her to the waiting vehicle.

“I only wish to take care of you, ma’am.” Clark helped her into the backseat and walked around the vehicle to slip into the other side to sit beside her.

He reached across the empty seat between them to take her hand as the driver started the engine.

Lois pressed the button to bring down the privacy screen with her free hand, shielding them from the driver's view.

They grinned at each other, and Clark lowered his sunglasses.

Lois slid closer to him. “I can’t thank you enough for getting rid of my pesky husband. How can I ever repay you?” She purred in his ear.

“I’m sure you will think of a way, Ms. Lane.”

His lips captured hers.

Chapter Text

“Keep your eyes closed.”

“I’m wearing a blindfold.”

“Still…” Clark smiled as he flew Lois high over Metropolis. He headed for The Daily Planet building, the setting sun reflecting off the golden globe.

Landing softly, Clark grinned at a retreating Jimmy, who waved and ran toward the roof access door, closing it ever so quietly behind him.

Still holding Lois, Clark strode across the roof to the small table and chairs Jimmy had set up.

He had to hand it to his best friend. Everything looked perfect: the candles, the champagne, the twinkle lights, and…

…the newspaper in the middle of the table with the headline: LOIS LANE, WILL YOU MARRY ME?

“Clark?”

Clark took a nervous breath and set Lois on her feet.

He cleared his throat.“Okay, you can take the blindfold off now.”

Notes:

She says yes.

Chapter 17: #17 Mutually Oblivious Attraction

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

"GET OUT!" Perry yelled.

A second later, Vicki Vale ran from his office, the door slamming after her.

"Hmmph!" She stomped across the newsroom, a satisfied smirk on her face.

"What's going on?" Lois stopped her by the elevators.

"Perebear's unhappy because I got the exclusive on Supergirl." Vicki tossed her hair.

"WHAT?"

Vicki grinned. "Read it and weep." She reached into her bag and pulled out today's edition of the Gotham Gazette.

"I can't believe Supergirl would do that!" Lois clenched the paper in her fists.

Vicki tsked and snatched the paper back  "It could have been your story, Lane." she said pointedly.

Lois made a growling sound in the back of her throat.

"I'm staying at The Planet, Vicki," she said firmly.

"Fine." Vicki shrugged as she stepped into the elevator. "I guess you'll have to get used to being number two. Just like Perebear!" She laughed as the elevator door closed behind her.

Lois fumed, barely able to contain herself. "Number two my—"

"Lois, darling, don't let her get to you!" Cat approached, reeking of perfume. "Vicki and Perry have been playing this game for years. It's like foreplay to them. One day they are going to explode and BANG! Fireworks!"

Lois laughed so hard she had to hold her stomach. "Perry and Vicki?"

"Oh yes, darling! They have enough sexual tension to light up the city!"

"I don't see it…"

Cat rolled her eyes. "Of course not, darling. You have your adorable little romance with Kent. When you're ready to find a real man, just let me know, and Vicki and I will take you out to find one!" She tossed her hair and sashayed away.

Lois looked across the newsroom to find Clark standing by the coffee machine, dabbing at what appeared to be a large coffee stain on his shirt. He caught her eye and grinned.

Lois grinned in return. "Oh, Cat, if only you knew what I have…"

Notes:

I feel like Vicki could be shipped with anyone, am I right?

Chapter 18: #18 Long Distance

Summary:

Imagine Lois had taken the job in Gotham.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois looked out of her bedroom window. Rain again, she sighed. Big fat drops of water hit the glass, each one making her more depressed.

Did the sun ever come out in Gotham? She had only moved into Vicki’s a week ago and was already miserable.

At least Metropolis was bright and colorful. The sun out and Superman in the sky.

“Superman…” Lois moaned pitifully and rested her head against the cold glass.

God, she missed him!

Vicki banged on her bedroom door. “Lane, I’m leaving in ten if you want a ride to work!”

Lois ignored her. She looked around her bedroom. Even it depressed her. She hadn’t bothered to unpack completely.

She walked over to her bedside table and picked up the small framed photo of her, Clark, and Jimmy. Clark and she gazed at each other while Jimmy snickered.

Her heart ached.

She had made a big mistake! She wanted to go home!

“Lois!” Vicki yelled. “You have a—”

“I’m coming!” Lois yelled, cutting Vicki off as she threw on her coat and backpack. She flung her bedroom door open and gasped.

“Superman!”

“Miss Lane.” He greeted her, with a polite formal nod.

“I guess I’m driving in alone,” Vicki smirked and headed for the front door. “See you at work!” She called as the door closed behind her.

“You called for me?”

“Get me out of here.” Lois threw herself into her boyfriend's arms. “Take me home, Clark! I want to go home!”

“Really?”

“Yes!”

He scooped her up. “Then let’s go!”

Notes:

And they never mentioned Gotham again.

Chapter 19: #19 First Kiss

Summary:

After Kiss Kiss, Fall Into A Portal & can link to #8 dinner date if you wish!

Chapter Text

“Well, well, what time do you call this?” Jimmy flicked on his bedside lamp as Clark closed the front door.

Clark laughed nervously. “Jimmy! I didn’t think you’d still be up! Did you wait up for me? You didn’t have to do that.” He fumbled in the dark, making his way to his bed, sitting down to untie his shoes.

“How many times did you make out with Lois?” Jimmy’s head hung over the bunk so they were almost face to face.

Clark blushed. “If you count the kiss in space…at least five times. Well, five kisses.”

“It’s midnight. You mean to tell me you’ve been making out and drinking coffee for three and a half hours?”

Clark chuckled and flopped down on his bed. “Yep.” He sighed happily. “Lois…is amazing!”

“Uh, huh.”

“And we did much more than drink coffee and make out.”

“WHAT?”

“Not that!” Clark sat up, his head banging into Jimmy’s bunk. “We held hands and walked through centennial park and talked. We talked a lot! Then I flew her home.”

“Oh. Well, that’s sweet, buddy.”

“Yeah.” Clark sighed contently again. “Good night, Jimmy.”

“Night, bud.”

Chapter 20: #20 One partner is drunk

Summary:

The gang go clubbing. Kara goes hard and possibly finds a new career?

Chapter Text

Clark had never been to a nightclub until tonight. They didn’t have them in Smallville.

So far, he wasn’t a fan. It was noisy and overcrowded, and his enhanced hearing kept kicking in, making him feel overstimulated.

He was a terrible dancer. Everyone kept crashing into him.

Lois was having the time of her life. She bounced and danced and rubbed herself against him, brightly colored drink in hand, pausing every so often to take a large gulp.

“Isn’t this amazing, Clark?” She yelled, her blue drink sloshing over his shirt as she bounced.

“It’s great!” He yelled back with all the false enthusiasm he could muster.

“You hate it, don’t you?” She wrapped her arms around him, swaying against him, her sweaty head against his chest.

“A little!”

“Wanna go home?” She yelled.

“Yes, please!” He nodded vigorously.

Lois stood on her tiptoes, looking around. “Can you see Kara and Jimmy anywhere?”

Clark’s eyes scanned the busy club. His eyes widened as he spotted his cousin. “Kara’s dancing on the bar!”

Lois giggled against him, craning her neck to see. “Is she drunk? I think I’m a little drunk!”

“I think she’s just having fun.”

“Where’s Jimmy?”

Clark scanned the room again. “He’s coming out of the bathroom. He looks sick…”

Clark carefully guided Lois through the crowd toward Jimmy.

“Clark, I drank too much. Your cousin kept buying me drinks…”

“Come on.” Clark tucked one arm around Jimmy and the other around Lois. He steeled his eyes towards his cousin, who now appeared to be doing the splits on the bar while patrons tucked dollar bills into the waist of her jeans. “Let’s get Kara and get out of here!”

Chapter Text

“Lois, are you breaking up with me?”

“No!” She shook her head as she ran to him. “No…I…”

“Lois…” Clark wrapped his arms around her, holding her to him as she cried, careful to keep one eye on the door in case someone was to intrude.

“Clark, I’m sorry! Just seeing you out there with Silver and the others… I don’t fit in with them.”

He pulled back to look at her, his heart breaking at the sadness he saw in her eyes. “I don’t want you to fit in with them! Heck, I don’t fit in with them! That was me acting, remember?”

She sniffed and nodded. “Things are changing so fast, Clark! This stuff with my dad…the stuff with—”

“Your job offer?” He cut her off, immediately regretting it.

She ducked her head, averting her eyes. “I should have told you.”

Clark squeezed her shoulder. “Can we go somewhere and talk? I don’t care about the auction as long as the sick kids get what they need.”

Lois pressed herself against him again. “Yes, let’s get out of here.”

The double doors burst open, flying off the hinges as they snapped apart.

“Kal El from Krypton!” A tiny blond woman yelled. “I answered your call!”

Notes:

At least let them talk before he gets lost in space. 😁

Chapter 22: #22 Double Date

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois stirred her half-eaten bowl of noodles and sighed. She looked across the table at Jimmy as he checked his watch. He let out his own sigh, slumping low in his chair.

“Guess they’re not coming?” Lois offered him a gentle smile.

“This is the third time this week.”

“It’s just something we have to get used to–dating, you know, superheroes.” She lowered her voice at the last word.

“I barely see Kara.”

“I know. I understand.”

“But you and Clark have been together for ages. Kara and I are just starting out.”

Lois narrowed her eyes. “It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for Clark and me,” she said. “I got kidnapped on our first date. My father kidnapped Clark and almost had him killed more than once. He gets beat up on almost a weekly basis. Then Kara kidnapped him and—”

“Alright, I get it! There has been a lot of kidnapping going on! We both have it rough!” he pouted, sinking even lower in his chair.

“I’m sorry, Jimmy. You’ll get used to it. Kara’s worth it, right?”

“Of course she’s…” Jimmy paused and grinned as he looked over Lois’ shoulder. “They made it!” He jumped to his feet and ran across the busy restaurant.

Lois turned her head to watch Kara and Clark make their approach. Clark waved at her, mouthing ‘I’m sorry’ as Kara embraced Jimmy enthusiastically.

Dodging waiters and tables full of people, Clark made it to her side and leaned down to kiss her. “Sorry, we’re late. Fires in the Southside.”

“As long as we get the exclusive.”

“I think I can arrange an interview with Superman.” He said, slipping into the seat beside her.

“Then you were worth the wait.” She tugged at his tie, pulling him in for another kiss.

Chapter Text

A knock came at the apartment door, and Lois reluctantly got up from the sofa to answer it.

“Oh, hi, Jimmy.” She greeted him as enthusiastically as she could manage, ducking her head as he brushed past her.

“Hey, Lois!”  Jimmy greeted her cheerily, too cheerily for her liking. She had been thoroughly enjoying her self pity.

Okay, so she hadn’t, but she wasn’t exactly up for company either.

“What’s up?” She settled back onto her sofa amongst the soft blankets and mountain of wet tissues.

“I heard about your dad…um, not coming….to the wedding?”

Lois narrowed her eyes at him. “Clark told you?”

“Well, he just mentioned you were kinda upset…” Jimmy tentatively sat down beside her.

“It’s fine,” she said shortly. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Of course! I just thought…”

“What?”

“Well, as Clark’s best man and best friend and also your best friend, I just thought that maybe—only if you want to! I could, well…I could—”

“What, Jimmy?”

“Look, I know you’re an independent woman and all, and I know I’m not your father or any sort of father figure, but I’m your friend and Clark’s friend, and if it would–”

She cut him off. “Jimmy, are you offering to walk me down the aisle?” Her eyes filled with fresh tears.

“Yeah…ah, unless you had someone else in mind?”

“Jimmy!” Lois threw her arms around him.

“So, is that a yes?”

She cried into his shoulder. “Yes!”

“We don’t have to do the father-daughter dance, do we?” Jimmy asked as they pulled apart.

For the first time that day, Lois laughed.

Notes:

Opps, this was actually supposed to be yesterday’s but I accidentally posted Double Date instead.

Isn’t Jimmy the best BFF ever?

Chapter Text

The portal swirling, Jon embraced Lois and Clark for the final time as the sun set behind The Daily Planet globe.

“See you guys in the future.” Jon grinned and winked at them both.

“Exactly how far into the future?” Lois asked.

“He can’t tell us, Lois.” Clark reminded her.

“Children need to be carefully planned, Clark! What if…” her hand came to rest on her lower belly. “What if I’m pregnant right now?” She whispered.

Clark just smiled and shrugged.

“No!” Lois shook her head and turned to her future son. “Look, uh, Jon… son. Just a hint? Please!” She begged her future child.

Jon appeared deep in thought for a moment. “Well…have you won your first Pulitzer yet?”

Lois shook her head. “No.”

“Then you have some time.” Jon stepped into the portal. “Love you guys! Byeeee!” He yelled as the portal swallowed him and dissipated.

“Okay, so no need to panic.” Lois took her boyfriend's hand.

“Looks like it.” Clark looked disappointed as they headed for the roof access door.

Lois’ phone rang while they waited for the elevator to the newsroom. “Hello? WHAT? Oh my god! That’s amazing and…”

“What?” Clark asked.

“I’ve been nominated for a Pulitzer!” Lois screeched, dropping her phone to the ground and accidentally hanging up on Perry in the process.

“Lois, this is amazing!!” Clark gushed. “I’m so proud of you! Your first Pulitzer!”

“Noo!” Lois' stomach twisted at the implication. “That means…oh god.” She picked up her now cracked phone and began dialing.

“What? Who are you calling?”

“My doctor! I need to refill my birth control pills!”

Notes:

I know, I know. I’m one of three fans who want Jon Kent and not the other kid… 😀

Chapter 25: #25 cooking together

Summary:

Jimmy teaches Kara to cook!

Chapter Text

Kara watched as Jimmy poured the tiny pasta shells into the pot of boiling water.

“Trust me, you’re going to love this,” Jimmy assured her as he stirred the pot.

Kara picked up a stray pasta shell and popped it into her mouth. “Dry.” She crunched it.

Jimmy laughed. “Yeah, don’t eat them dry.” He picked up the pasta box and pulled out a tiny foil bag. “Once we add the cheese sauce though, you’ll die!”

“Die?” Kara’s eyes widened as she eyed the tiny foil bag. She wasn’t ready for death. She had only been on Earth for a few months.

Did Kal El know Jimmy was plotting her death?

Jimmy laughed again and patted her shoulder gently. “It’s just an expression. It will taste so good that we’ll die of happiness!”

Kara still didn’t quite understand, watching as Jimmy retrieved milk and butter from the fridge. He cut off a chunk of butter and placed it into a small pot. He held the pot out to her and smiled.

“I need some of your zap, zap!”

“Zap, zap?”

“Your laser vision, to melt the butter!”

“I’m helping you cook?”

“Yeah!”

Kara grinned, pleased she could help in this strange custom of cooking a meal together. She shot a beam at the butter, instantly melting it.

“Great! Now we need to add some milk,” Jimmy splashed some milk in with the butter. “and the cheese powder.”

Kara helpfully opened the foil packet and tipped the contents into the pot.

“Alright.” Jimmy set the pot onto a burner. “Now we stir until it thickens.” He held out a spoon for Kara to take.

Kara nodded and stirred the soupy cheese mixture, watching curiously as it thickened

“Okay, macaroni’s ready!” Jimmy declared, taking the pasta pot from the stove and draining it. “Sauce looks ready, too!” He added after a glance into her pot. “Now pour it over the macaroni.” He encouraged.

Kara did as he asked, and Jimmy stirred the gooey concoction. He scooped up a spoonful and held it towards Kara’s mouth. “Trust me, you will love it.” He grinned.

Kara tentatively leaned closer and allowed Jimmy to feed her the spoonful. Her eyes bugged as she swallowed. “Oh!”

“Good?”

Kara sighed happily. “I’m going to die!”

Chapter Text

"How long do we have to do this for?" Clark spun Lois in his arms.

"I don't know. Is everyone staring?" Lois tried to concentrate on enjoying the moment, but her feet kept kicking Clark's as they danced.

"Well, yes. It's the married couple's first dance–"

"And we're the married couple." Lois tucked her head into Clark's chest as they swayed. She sighed as her dress caught on her shoe. "I can't wait to get out of this dress."

"And I can't wait to get you out of it!" Clark said a little too loudly, blushing furiously as several guests snickered in response.

She smacked him lightly. "Clark! I meant because it's uncomfortable and… itchy. And I spilled my entree on it!"

Clark laughed. "During Jimmy's toast, I spilled champagne all over my lap! I had to dry it with my heat vision."

Lois giggled and clung tighter to him. "I love you, Clark Kent."

He spun her again. "I love you, Lois Lane."

Can’t believe we’re nearly at the end of Awwgust. 😢

Summary:

Lois & Clark honeymoon in Hawaii.

Notes:

Same universe as #3 music & #22 wedding planning & #16 proposal & #26 Wedding

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois groaned as the hotel room was suddenly flooded with light. She opened one eye to see Clark standing at the balcony window, looking out at the rising Hawaiian sun.

She pulled the pillow out from under her head and tossed it, hitting him in the back of his neck.

"Close the curtains, Smallville! It's too early. I need more sleep," she said crankily, rolling over and pulling the covers up over her head.

"Ah, my bride has awoken." Clark was at her side in an instant. "Good morning, wife."

"Good morning, husband." She couldn't help but smile, but then she turned her head to narrow her eyes at him. "Now, close the curtains!"

"Are you hungover?" He slid into the bed behind her.

"I might still be drunk. Did we really get married yesterday?"

He snuggled in closer. "Yes!"

"And did we…consummate this marriage?" She slid a hand down her body to confirm that she was indeed naked.

"Sure did! Consummated it really well!”

She laughed at his enthusiasm. "Oh, good."

"But afterward, someone thought it would be fun to try and drink champagne off each other."

Lois cringed. "Yeah, that was me, wasn't it?"

“Then you drank the rest of the bottle and passed out. You snored for hours! Your belly made that cute little gurgly noise it makes when you have too many bubbles!"

"Ew, Clark!" She giggled and squirmed as he rubbed her belly.

He dropped a kiss to her forehead, and then, as asked, he jumped up to close the curtains, returning to her side in a flash. The bed bounced as he climbed back in beside her.

She rolled over to face him. "I'm not usually such a lightweight, but I didn't eat all day yesterday except for half my entree at the reception."

"I know." He pulled her further into his arms. "Just rest…we have our entire lives to be together…"

"Mmmm." Lois sighed contently. "I love you, Clark."

"I love you too, Lois."

Lois felt herself drifting off.

"Lois?"

"Hmmm?"

"Um, it's just…we have that sunrise surfing lesson in ten minutes..."

Notes:

Clark really wants to go surfing.

Chapter 28: #28 Childhood Friends

Summary:

Clark’s first day of college in the big city.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“1202.” Clark read. He turned to Lana. “This is it, my dorm.” He swallowed nervously—his first day at college as an ordinary, average guy!

“What’s your roommate's name again?” Lana enquired.

“James Olsen.”

Clark tapped the keycard on the door handle and turned it, careful not to use too much force.

The door opened, and a young black man screeched his name and ran to him, pulling him into an enthusiastic hug. “I’m your roommate, buddy! Isn't this exciting?!”

“Nice to meet you, James,” Clark said, slightly taken aback by his new roommate’s enthusiasm.

“Jimmy! Call me Jimmy, man!” Jimmy looked past him to Lana. “Is this your girlfriend? Wow… you never mentioned her in your emails!” He nodded his approval.

“No, she’s…just a friend,” Clark said, his stomach sinking as Lana’s face fell slightly. “a good friend! We used to date!” He amended quickly. “But we—”

“We broke up when we were eight.” Lana laughed it off, linking arms with him. “Clark just needed a ride to the city, and my daddy just bought me this new truck,” she trailed off awkwardly.

Jimmy grinned. “Wanna go for coffee before you unpack? It’s still early, and there’s this great brunch place around the corner from campus.”

“I love brunch!” Clark enthused. “Lana, you don’t have to rush back to Kansas right away, right?” Suddenly, he didn’t want her to leave. She was his last link to home and his old life.

“I’m all yours, farm boy… at least for the next few hours."

Notes:

Is it canon that Clark and Jimmy met in college or did I make that up?

Chapter 29: #29 Teasing

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lois lathered up her left leg and began the careful process of shaving it. Lost in the moment, she didn’t hear the bathroom door open.

“Lois?”

She jumped out of her skin, sending the razor flying and her body crashing to the tiles.

Well…almost to the tiles. Her equally naked boyfriend caught her under the arms just before she could injure herself.

“Clark…” She spun in his arms to face him. “You scared me!”

“Sorry.”

He looked genuinely remorseful, and Lois smiled at him. “It’s okay!” she assured him.

Clark bent down to pick up her discarded razor. “Here”

Lois snatched it from him, tossing it out of the shower, feeling self-conscious that he had caught her attending to her personal grooming. “Wash my hair?” she asked him sweetly.

Clark reached behind her, picking up the shampoo bottle. He lathered up his hands, and Lois turned around to give him better access as the steam rose around them.

Lois moaned as he massaged the shampoo into her scalp.

“That’s all I have to do to get you to moan like that?”

She laughed. “Maybe…”

Only 2 more days to go! 😭

Chapter 30: #30 Royalty/Peasantry

Summary:

Lois wants to escape her fathers control.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Her father had insisted she take horse riding lessons. Three lessons in, Lady Loisette and the stable boy, Kent, were madly in love with each other.

"I don't want to marry Alexander." Loisette cried on Kent's shoulder. "My father promised me to him."

Kent's jaw tensed. "I will find a way for you to escape."

A week later, after another lesson that ended in stolen kisses, Kent whispered in her ear.

"Tonight at midnight. Your tower."

Lady Loisette stood in her tower that night, looking out the small window.

A shooting star streaked across the sky, and she closed her eyes and made a wish.

Her eyes reopened, widening in surprise as the star rushed toward her, and she realized it wasn't a star at all, but a man!

"Kent!"

He hovered outside her window, holding his hand out for her to take.

"Do you trust me?" He asked her.

Without hesitation, she climbed up to stand on the window ledge and leaped from the tower straight into his arms.

"With my life."

Notes:

I sorta borrowed Lady Loisette from Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman. I 100% recommend the show if you are a shipper! ❤️

One more chapter to go! 😭
