Work Text:
The Lore of Din's Sarad'ad.
Appearance:
Pretty cis female, soft curves, shorter than Din, younger than Din (25 - 30); could be slightly more or less, but she was "coming of age" in 3bby, so a max of ~35 and a minimum of 25.
No mention of exact height, weight, specific body type, skin tone, exact age, eye color, hair color or texture, voice.
Long hair with varying braids in it. Here are some examples of what her hair might look like:
Sparse and simple but pretty and delicate jewelry like minute seashell earrings, carved or painted wood pendants, wood or shell rings. Everything in muted tropical colors: white, cream/linen, yellow, coral, turquoise, tan, never black! Bohemian-meets-island aesthetic, tropical strega, mori in island colors; flowy linen clothes: loose peasant blouses, camisoles, shifts, tanks; sundresses with delicate embroidery; extremely short to above ankle skirts; leggings and tights; "Birkenstock" sandals. Reluctant cool weather wear: long cardigans and dusters; longer, heavier skirts; thick leggings and socks; one pair of soft, worn leather boots with a thin fur lining. Before Bakura, Din has to buy her a coat and he lets her pick it out. She treasures the beautiful coat: it's knee-length light tan canvas anorak, fully lined in a cream and tan flecked silky rabbit/mink type fur, lined and trimmed hood, turquoise metal fastenings for sleeves and waist etc, full front zip, made for at 0 temps.
Here are some examples of her style:
Nnoma:
Sarad'ad's home is in Dessay Shôndha, the "Valley of the Moon," where the moon rises all year long.
Nnoma itself is warm and temperate with moderate humidity. Primarily jungle and rainforest. Evenly distributed active volcanoes across landmass and ocean. More than half of the planet's surface is lakes and oceans with numerous beaches.
Small, light population. Towns and development are kept out of lava and eruption paths. Homes are small, breezy, and earthy, made of lightweight volcanic rock, flexible palm wood, and light plaster made by mixing ground volcanic rock with duracrete. Jewel tone textiles made of floral dyes and palm textiles decorate homes and clothing.
Primary commerce is tropical fruit, palm textiles, and dark aqua emeralds. Secondary economic sources are perfume from tropical flora, resorts, and ornamental pink volcanic rock.
The culture was predominantly an ancient polytheistic low-fealty religion founded on respect and fear of the volcanoes, constant dispute between the gods of the ocean, magma, and earth. Teth is the male god of earth and life, joy and celebration. He oversees Tellool, the soul paradise for the good and kind. Sô is the female god of the sea and change, patience and temperance. Sôunntâ is the place in Sô's sea where others await judgment or absolution. Fiint is the genderless god of fire and lava, death and destruction. Fandhâri is the underworld for cruel souls overseen by Fiint. Here's a kind of general idea of what they look like:

The Nnoman culture focuses on poetry and song as history and storytelling and a cultural medium; various instruments are taught in early childhood like flute and reed, guitar and sitar so most citizens have at least a minor musical skill. Education and language are extremely important, with a triple-lingual goal in school. Debate, linguistics, and wit are also important.
The local clothing, technology, culture, industry, music, and cuisine consists of a blend of about 60% tribal influence and 40% galactic influence. There's a cultural fascination with the living body, a gift from Teth. That's why the flower girl frequently refers to body parts in more literal terms, like ribs and brain, and metaphors.
Aqua-colored emeralds found on the bottom of the sea are extremely useful in small-scale laser arrays, in addition to being beautiful gemstones. For this reason, the Empire invaded 12 years before the Mandalorian show, around 3bby. Sarad'ad was coming of age, late teens. Her rural seaside village was destroyed for resisting the Empire's seizing of their emerald mine. Her family was killed in the ground invasion. Survivors of the genocide were scattered to the winds, finding refuge on sympathetic, neutral planets. She found herself in the valley town on the grassy, lightly forested agricultural planet of Aerna where she meets Din and Kid. She runs a florist there for 12 years, not accomplishing or acquiring much, but she was comfortable and peaceful and had no complaints. She had few friends, but she was friendly with a lot of people.
Language:
Sarad'ad has an expansive and peculiar vocabulary to someone unfamiliar with Nnoman culture. She had an odd speech pattern with a thick Havikki accent, long, lazy dragging on certain letters. For example, she pronounces "Mandalorian," like "manda-LLOR-hian."
