A Window to the Past

Summary:

During Hermitcraft season 6, Grian played with time travel and toward the end of the season the Hippies had something go wrong with the time machine. Well this spins that on it head when the reason it breaks is a very friendly trickster called Herobrine. The hermits are watching the past of the server.

This is not the cannon story, rather a bunch of connected fanon.

Chapter 1: A Mistake

Chapter Text

It was the day. The day to take back the time machine, and maybe annoy Doc into never taking Grian’s machines again. Well that was the hope. Currently the Hippies were in the tunnels heading to the time machine. Ren was watching the playerlist which was surprisingly full today, for Scar and Doc, who could join at any moment. Impulse was incharge of placing torches, while Grian was blowing up the tunnel as they moved toward where the time machine was stored. Grian was also keeping an eye on his connection to the time machine. While X had allowed him to keep his admin console arm bracelet, which Grian had used to make the time machine work, but since Doc got his hands on the machine, Grian’s connection had read; “Error, Missing Part, Do Not Use.” So to say Grian was concerned was an understatement.

BOOM

“We’re in!” Grian said, jumping down into the lab zone. Ren and Impulse followed him, as the Hippies walked past the different containment spaces, they reached the Time Machine. “Keep an eye out, I have to see which part they removed.” Grian said, opening a side panel. Impulse and Ren watched down the tunnel, with their player menu open. Grian opened panel after panel, but nothing seemed to be missing, and then it happened.

GoodtimewithScar joined the game.
DocM77 joined the game.

“Get in the machine! We can hide in here if they come down!” Grian yelled, as he flew into the machine. Impulse and Ren were right behind him. “Grian, what if they check the machine?” Impulse asked. “Then I hope that the piece they took out isn’t important.” Grian said, as he opened a panel on the inside. “Fuck.” “Lanauge.” Impulse warned. “He took out the stablizer!” “What’s that do?” “It makes sure that no one outside the machine gets grabbed. Currently anyone within a 500 block radius will get grabbed and given that most of the server is playing mini games today that’s everyone.” Grian said. “What do you need to fix it?” “Redstone, blaze rods, and popped chorus fruit.” Grian said as he pulled out a set of redstone wires from his inventory, while Impulse dug in his enderchest. “Hey Grian, should this screen be cracked?” Ren asked. Grian shot up and look at where Ren was pointing at. “No, that is the screen that says when in time we ended up and where.” Grian said, “and unless you have diamonds, glass, and redstone I can’t fix that.”

As Grian worked on fixing parts of the machine, fate wouldn’t allow them to complete it. Ren’s tail smacked a lever. A very important lever. The sounds of wooing filled the machine, causing Grian and Impulse to look over at Ren. “Ren, did you hit that lever?” “My tail did, why?” “Brace yourself, the whole server is about to end up who knows where!” Grian said.

Elsewhere on the Hermitcraft server…

Cub, Scar, False, and Doc were in the minigame district, mostly cause Cub and False where distracting the pair of government workers. Doc was trying to find an excuse to escape and go check on some of the captures that Scar had caught yesterday. But he also had a very uneasy feeling. X kept leading them along the area. A cow ran past, away from something. “Hey X? Could you and Doc lend me a hand?” Joe asked. “What’s up?” “The ravengers from Cub’s game are all pushing a wall, it’s like they are trying to escape.” “What?” Cub asked, Scar over his shoulder. “X!” Tango ran over. “My admin console is giving a bizarre warning, is yours also giving that?” X’s eyebrow raised, as he checked his arm bracelet. “Warning! Warning! Time Travel happening!” X glanced over at Tango’s arm bracelet to see it read the same thing. “Where’s Grian when you need him?” Doc glanced at X’s screen. “Why is that X?” “Well his arm bracelet is connected to his time machine. He, Tango, and I agreed that the machine would only work if Grian was in the machine.” Doc and Scar looked at each other. X and Tango caught the look. “What did you two do?” “You know how Grian has been trying to get back the time machine, what would happened if say, I had removed some parts?” Doc asked, his hands fidgeting nervously. “Doc what did you do?”

“LOOK OUT!” A hermit screamed. Everyone looked over to where the scream came from. Blue, purple, and white mixed light was quickly coming toward them. “RUN FOR IT!” The hermit, Iskall screamed.

Unfortunately, no one could out run the light. The only hermits who escaped the beam was the only one who wasn’t one the server at the time, TFC.

Grian, Impulse, and Ren woke up first. They were in a space that looked like a home movie theater, with bean bag, couches, chairs, and a table with a bunch of boxes with names written on them, and all around them were unconsese hermits. The other thing that drew their attention was a pair of glowing white eyes, and a smirk. Which lead Ren to scream and jump into Impulse’s arms. “Hello there. We’ll talk when the rest of your group walks up.” said Herobrine.

As the rest of the group woke up, X and Tango were staring at Grian. “What happened?” X asked. “Doc or Scar pulled out one of the most important pieces of equipment for the time machine!” Grian said, pointing at Doc and Scar. “Which was?” “The part that blocks the machine from pulling players in from up to 500 blocks away!” Grian said, now staring at the pair. “How was I supposed to know that?” Doc asked, “There was no manual for what shouldn’t be taken out!” “I would think that one as smart as you would ask when they find something they don’t understand.” Cub said. Doc pouted. “Where are we?” Cleo asked. “You are in my special place.” A voice said. The eyes appeared first, followed by a smirk, and the rest of Herobrine. “Herobrine, why are we here?” Joe asked. “Well, I thought what would be more fun that to explore the past of Hermitcraft. But as I was exploring I decided that it would be more fun for you all to react to the past of Hermitcraft, then I thought why not go beyond Hermitcraft! I mean so many of you came from different servers, some more populated than others, so why not explore those?” Herobrine said with a giggle. “Plus you never know what connections you may have. Also until you hit the current date, you aren’t leaving~!” And with that Herobrine disappeared.

The hermits looked at each other before exploring the space. X picked up a box and the name Keralis was on it. When X opened the box, snacks and drinks that Keralis loved were in it. “These boxes have our favorite foods in them.” X said. As most of the hermits found their boxes and settled on one of many seating areas, Herobrine appeared in a secret room behind them. “This is going to be fun!” he giggled.
