hfjONE INEVITABLE AU
aka, Owen's here and Ava's interest in the case of missing object's grows.
an hfjONE AU where Owen was the first person to meet Liam (BackPack) after he returned from The Plane, thus connecting the two in a journey to get the rest of the Contestants from The Plane. Though, things may not go according to plan…
–
Summary:
hfjONE INEVITABLE AU is an AU composed by ThyGoodVibez (me!)
It's an interactive AU, which interacts with the audience (Tumblr; anonymous/users) to help progress the story
From the original storyline, the AU goes according to the main plot, though instead with a few tweeks. While on his journey to head to Bryce, Liam stops a car in hopes of helping him reach his destination. Though, upon seeing the driver, it's revealed that Owen is the one driving. From there, Owen brings Liam to his home, housing him for the night.
During the car ride, Owen and Liam sit in silence before Liam brings up where he’s been. Owen doesn’t buy it one bit.
Quote from Owen:
It took 6 months to finally let go of hope.
The hope that you were still alive, Liam.
Yet, a month later, here you are.
The Police found your bike on the bridge. I even tried calling you!
So no. I don’t believe you were gone on a business trip.
Where were you?
- During this time, people tell Liam to explain to Owen what happened to him, but Liam is reluctant and refuses to tell him anything about what he experienced, worried that his friend might find him to be crazy.
Instead, while sitting in silence, Liam chats to viewers occasionally, but is reminded that Owen can hear him talking, which results in an awkward car ride. (results in Liam shutting up after shouting at one viewer)
They reach Owen’s apartment, having Owen lead the way while Liam silently talks over what he’ll do next in the oncoming days.
Quote from Liam:
If the address is leading right to him, then all I have to do is reach him.
I’m pretty much winging this.. I wonder if he remembers me. He should, right?
It’s just been 7 months…
Owen allows Liam to sleep on his couch for the night.
Upon waking up the next day, Liam is greeted to an empty apartment, and sore legs. There, he chats to viewers briefly before Owen returns with food. It’s around Lunchtime.
After lunch, the two have a talk. Both Owen and Liam go over Liam’s disappearance, resulting in a small argument. Owen expresses that what Liam is saying sounds crazy and not at all true, while Liam protests and expresses heavily that they are true. Owen eventually tells Liam that during his trip to get food, he had gone to the police station to update them on the situation (his case). He explains that a while back, he was taken into custody for questioning over his disappearance. He tries to reassure Liam, saying that the police could help him in this matter.
Viewers watch the ongoing conversation before one tells Liam he looks insane. Liam shouts in retaliation.
Quote from Liam:
YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT I’VE BEEN THROUGH OWEN
I AM NOT INSANE!
From there, he reveals the notes given to him by Stone. However, Owen points out that the notes could’ve been written by Liam and that there was no changing that Liam should go to the police station for help. He would accompany him too. Liam is upset, though accepts it, having Owen go over the time the Detective in charge of the case would arrive. However, during this talk, one of the notes begins to glitch out before changing. Viewers quickly noticed and tell Liam. Liam and Owen both jump out of their seats and watch the note float in the air, shifting into a new note.
The new note shifts from a laptop on a table, to an Airplane with the number 8(?), with AM written on the side. It’s then, does Owen finally hear the viewers, much like Liam does.
Eventually, the two sit themselves on the couch, silent. It is there, the viewers see that both now have an invisible line connecting each other. There is no mention of the line from either of them.
After going to bed, viewers try to speak to Owen, asking him questions, in which Owen answers some untruthfully, not at all trusting of them. They even ask about his personal relations, in which he expresses that viewers are being invasive, and to leave him alone so he can sleep. Liam on the couch then comments to viewers, telling them to not be weird or ask weird questions. As he lies there, he goes over his thoughts, hoping that everyone on the Plane is okay.
It’s early in the morning, peak hours of 3-5 AM.
The two get up, due to Liam waking Owen up for a favor. That favor is to drive him to the Airport. Owen, who’s still recalling the events of the night prior, decides to do this just for Liam. There, they drive to the Airport, having a bit of silence in between, before a viewer sends an ask.
Viewer:
He puts up with us because he doesn't have a choice and now you don't either apparently. Why did this even happen I know for a fact you didn't hear us during the car rideactually the universe probably thinks you're relevant to whatever adventure liam's on i guess. the notes DID do that thing and liam definitely can't get on a plane on his own so you'd have to help
Quote from Owen:
As much as I’d like to stick around, if Liam has places to go… I can’t follow.
I have a job to get back to, I have things to do.
I’m happy Liam is back, trust me. But.. I can’t just drop everything I have been working on for whatever he has to do.
Owen expresses that he is happy with helping Liam as much as he could, but would not be following him anywhere he needs to go. Though, it’s obvious he’s anxious and doesn’t really know how to feel about Liam leaving so soon. Viewers express to Liam that maybe he is doing a bit much, that maybe all of this was unnecessary ( though they put un-nesesscary, possibly hinting that all of this was scary..)
Quote from Liam:
No?
If this address leads me right to Soda bottle, we could figure out the meaning of the notes.
Viewers also took note of what Owen said the prior night before. It’s then noted again, that Owen in fact LIES to the viewer, not giving accurate information about him or Liam’s past.
Once arriving at the Airport, it feels like a dead end. The clock along the walls seems to be telling a different time than what they were originally going for. It wasn’t said in the comic strips, but the clock wasn’t set correctly, giving a wrong time. Correct time was between 5-6 AM. The note wasn’t making much sense at this point, seeing how it gave inaccurate information. Though, upon leaving, Owen ends up running into Ava Ledger, the lead Detective in this case. Flat out embarrassing himself in front of Ava, he leads her towards his car, in hopes of finding Liam there to explain everything up to this point. Though, upon arriving at his car, they find a note, presumably the Airplane note. Written on the back side, Liam leaves a message.
Message by Liam:
I’m going to find Soda bottle. Thank you for helping me, Owen - Liam
This is when Ava spouts out questions, realizing that Liam was in fact, here, and did leave a message for Owen.
List of things Ava says, but Owen is too distracted to hear:
- Wait, Liam was here?
- Where did he go?
- Soda bottle? Taylor mentioned there being a soda bottle
- This is the biggest lead yet
- Owen, you really did find him
- Did he tell you where he was?
- Possibly who he saw?
- Why did you both come to the airport?
- We’ll take the note to the station
- This can’t be the same person could it?...
- Liam is alive
- You’re going to have to come with me to the station.
- Owen?
Viewers shift their attention to Liam, seeing how he is once again on the road.
He tries to reassure himself, and mainly tries to keep his hopes high, saying that Soda bottle would help him once he gets there. That he will help get Scenty and everyone off the Plane. Viewers express that maybe Soda bottle wouldn’t listen, and that Owen was there to help but he left him at the Airport.
Quote from Liam:
I couldn’t do that to him. I don’t mean to hurt his feelings.
I should’ve told him to his face…
- What Liam means by ‘I couldn’t do that to him’, is him expressing that he couldn’t pull Owen away from his everyday life, as mentioned in the car ride to the Airport. He saw Owen’s hesitance and decided that he wouldn’t drag Owen through this mess. So his best option he saw was to leave.
Liam then tells himself that he is in fact a jerk for leaving Owen at the Airport (unaware that Ava is there). He just wants to get back to Scenty.
Viewers tell him that Owen is in fact now being questioned by cops, though he is unable to return back, due to it being a least a couple hours away now.
Quote by Liam:
I’m at least a couple hours away. I can’t go back now. I have to continue on.
I’m hoping to find someone to pick me up.
Viewers insist Liam on going back, asking if there’s no way to force him to go back.
Quote by Liam:
As much as I’d like to be with him again… no. Unless he comes to find me, but-
He has things going for him. Not me. Not anymore.
Eventually, Liam gets picked up and his journey officially begins. It’s then revealed that after being taken to the station, Owen is in the back of a rental car, with Ava being the driver. He has a bag packed and ready, holding the note Liam had left for him. Viewers had then told Owen where Liam was going. Going out on a limb, in hopes of trying to gain some trust, as well as there being no other lead… Owen gives an address given to him by the viewers. It’s shown that Owen cares for Liam more than he leads on to be (enough to drop everything to help find his friend fast, before they do something stupid).
On the road finally, the two answer individual questions. Mainly, viewers wish to speak with Owen. Here are a few questions they had asked, which further explained a few things:
Viewer: Hey Owen, do you trust us?
Owen: … don’t take this the wrong way, or do. But no, I don’t.
Viewer: Why not?
Owen: .. because you’re all suddenly in my head out of the blue?? That you’re saying I’m in love with my best friend?? That we’re husbands when we haven’t even seen each other in months. Just because I like the guy doesn’t mean anything. This is Liam we’re talking about.. Don’t say those things. It makes him weirded out.
Viewer: Why don’t you trust us
Owen: As if that’s not obvious… I don’t know you.
Viewer: If it makes you feel better, we know just as much as you. While we know a bit more than you. Like what happened when Liam disappeared but other than that, we’re in the dark.
Owen: Liam disappearing was one of the most tragic days… I guess it puts me at ease knowing you guys don’t know much about me. I can’t say the same for Liam… if we are going to somehow work together through this, try not to be weird okay? Liam’s a great guy.
From there, they end the conversation with viewer’s giving Owen a Liam Plush, and soon Owen taking some rest.
It takes some time, but Liam does switch cars occasionally. Still heading towards the location given to him. Owen does the same, saying that they’re still traveling.
That’s when Owen finds out a shocking realization. It gives insight that the viewers know something more as well.
Viewer: owen. we...we *knew* what was going to happen. We had the confidence (and dread) of holding knowledge of the future. but...things have changed, and now, our lights have dimmed.
I...understand how you feel. having a friend disappear out of nowhere can be terrifying... especially when even if they've come back them disappearing again is totally a possibility. It's totally valid if you feel tense too.
if it puts you at ease...things...they will settle eventually. whatever the goal of all of this is will be reached...but it might come with sacrifice. take it with a grain of salt though... we're as confused as you are in regards to what's next.
Owen: What?... he can just disappear at any time?
The stakes grow higher and Owen’s anxiety doesn’t settle. He’s worried that any moment, Liam could once again vanish. He asks about Liam, if he’s okay. Viewers tell Owen that Liam’s okay, that he’s near a barn.
Finally, viewers are able to see Liam resting in the back of a car, dozing off occasionally. He’s silent, holding onto a note.. While a strange apparition appears beside him. He doesn’t notice it at first, though once it leaves, he wakes up, confused. He swore he felt someone beside him, but didn't question it any further. (The apparition is confirmed to have been Soda bottle/Bryce, who was holding the note that Liam had originally; The note with the Laptop and the name ‘Silva’. This confirms that Soda bottle/Bryce had receive the note that vanished. )
Viewers ask Liam how he’s doing, questioning if he had a good nap while on the car ride.
Quote by Liam:
I did. I guess.
Not too far now though. I’m actually a good few hours out, since I've been traveling all day, plus towards the end of yesterday at night. Give or take... Possibly tomorrow morning, or so, I'll arrive.
... I'm actually not sure what to expect. I keep staring at these notes expecting something else to happen but, I end up being more frustrated.
... I still can't seem to let go how it's been 7 months. 7 months away from here. It feels so, isolating. No one knows what Airy did to me, what they're still doing.
I have to get to Soda bottle.
Liam then comments on a viewer giving him a pillow for the ride. He then questions about Owen, saying that he hopes the viewer’s are being kind to him. They also confirm they saw someone in the car with Liam, which he feels validated. This goes into another day, ending it with Owen sleeping in the car, and Liam switching cars, still talking with viewers. It’s then he finds out the viewers had given Owen a Plushie of himself, which he comments not to be weird… but finds that Owen does miss him. And that he is in fact, soft.
While walking, viewers suggest Liam and Owen should have a talk.
Viewer: maybe next time you see owen you two should talk about it. not anything ONE related, just how you two feel. considering youve been missing for a while and owen seems to be worried about you, i think it would benefit you both quite well. besides you should see him again soon, if things play out right... dont pay too much attention to that last part
Liam: ... to ease back into things would be nice. Being on the plane for those many months really drilled those shifts into me.
.. maybe, once we get everyone left on the Plane back, we'll have a talk. I'll be able to adjust better..
and what do you mean?
Now, as the night progresses, the viewers are given a scene.
Driving up to a building, it's shown that Bryce exits the car, holding what seems to be a laptop in his right arm. There isn’t much said, only that Bryce had returned back to his apartment.
Liam arrives in town. He gets dropped off at the building with the address. He gathers his thoughts before trekking into the building, searching for the room number given to him. He notes how it looks like it’ll rain today, given how many clouds are in the sky. Entering the building and taking the elevator, Liam arrives at his destination. He is greeted by Bryce, and the two exchange their shock/glee.
During this time, both Owen and Ava stop for gas quickly, both noticing how the sky seems to have darken. Owen worries that a storm is coming..
Quote by Owen:
At least an hour out… let’s get this gas and hurry before the storm comes.
Canon to the story, the video gives a play by play of the events that happened. But I will summarize it below
–
If you’d like to watch the video, check it out here!:
Video - LINK HERE :D
Summary of the events that took place:
Upon the hour of sitting in Bryce’s apartment, the two (Liam and Bryce) talk for some time. Mainly, Liam fills in Bryce of what’s happened in the last 7 months, leading up to him coming here. He shows the notes to Bryce, notes given to him by Stone all those months ago. He explains how one of them had changed, giving him a new task at hand, but has no clue as to where it’s at. Bryce eventually tells Liam that he was the one given the note. Before going to explain what he needed to do, Liam cuts him off excitedly, explaining that this was all meant to happen then. That they can finally work together into stopping Airy and hopefully save everyone from the Plane. There is a bit of a pause before Bryce expresses that he won’t be able to help.
He worked hard getting to where he is now, saying that he now has a purpose to live in this lifetime, but Liam is insistent on Bryce helping him. The two argue for a moment longer before Bryce gets the point across: he wasn’t helping. Liam stares for a while before turning to leave, angrily. He leaves Bryce alone in his apartment, giving one last statement before he leaves.
“ I’m stopping Airy, Soda bottle… with your help, or not” - Liam
Liam leaves Bryce alone in his apartment. He doesn’t recall how long he’s been standing there, but something about Liam leaving like that made Bryce feel guilty. It isn’t long till he gets a knock at the door. He assumes Liam had returned, so he opens the door… only it wasn’t Liam. It was both Owen an Ava, having Ava bring out her badge and clarify that she is a Detective, actively looking for a missing green backpack by the name of Liam Plecak. Bryce stares at the two, a bit shocked before he eventually leans on his doorframe, explaining all that he could, filling them in on Liam’s plan to head to a tower near the ocean. Both Owen and Ava give a look towards each other before Bryce then suggests taking them all to the tower.
Liam is revealed to be making his way towards the tower, his expression dark yet determined. Once arriving, he climbs the fence, making his way up along the tall tower. Eventually, the group gets there, the three climbing the fence before Owen spots Liam at the top. Without warning, Owen charges towards the tower, Ava soon calling out over to him while Bryce stares in disbelief and anxiety. ( It isn’t shown in the video, but it’s meant to show that Bryce actually held Ava’s arm so she wouldn’t have charged the tower up herself ).
From there, the story officially is set into motion, having Liam and Owen shocked at the top of the tower. Not from keys, but from Owen’s metal body ( nail ). Thus, sending them both to the waiting room.
–
There is a pause in between. Bryce is shown behind the fence, with red and blue police lights surrounding him. As well as a hand placed on his back, which is revealed to be Ava consoling him. Title of the image shown is ‘ Grief ‘.
Liam is freaking out. Mainly, due to Owen not waking up. We don’t hear from Liam for a moment, now taking the side of Bryce’s time.
Bryce is taken into the police station, mainly due to the situation at the towers. Though, from previous connections/comments from Taylor, he was brought into questioning over his experiences while being missing. With now answering viewer questions/comments, Bryce is shown to be really reluctant and quite standoff-ish with the viewers. Often saying he’d wish he could not hear them. In retaliation, the viewers yell at him, which makes him more annoyed. He also gets a bit annoyed when viewers address him as Soda Bottle instead of Bryce. He’d rather be left alone to wallow away in his thoughts, though the viewers don’t leave him be.
It’s then, he starts to mix up his comments and knowledge, calling the laptop ‘Silva’ and almost missing who ‘Bradley’ is. Though, he becomes really frustrated when users point it out.
Quote by Bryce:
Look, I never WANTED to even go get the laptop. I never WANTED to be apart of this again. I never WANTED to see LIAM BEING SHOCKED TO DEATH.
Do you think I am in the right mind to think properly or even form functioning thoughts right now?!
So SORRY if I've slipped up on my words or said something that isn't true. It isn't my fault that things happened the way they did.
I never asked for this
...
Texty must think I'm crazy right now seeing how I'm literally speaking to NOTHING right now
Please, just. Leave me alone.
Viewers pause comments before one mentions alcohol, asking if he would like some.
Quote by Bryce:
No. I can't.
...
The Detective spoke to me today at the station. I felt like I was cornered, walking in circles. She wanted to know everything I did. So I told her. I told her about the Plane, Airy, about the others.
I.. Don't think she's going to let up on this case. She's focused on figuring out what happened to their bodies.
From there, he stops taking questions and heads to sleep.
The next day, he wakes up normally, with more viewers asking questions. He answers some and gets annoyed at many.
Viewer: we all gotta stop bombarding the poor soda bottle with so many questions he just witnessed two people get struck by lightning and fucking die
Bryce: … exactly
Viewer: But liam isn't dead! Owen is still unclear
Bryce: … like you guys said yesterday. He must be at that place he mentioned.
Viewer: Btw are you gonna try and find him again?
Bryce: I have to work soon.. I can’t… I just…
Viewer: Bryce?
Bryce: What?..
Viewer: You want to find him don’t you?
Bryce: I do, but. I can’t just, stop everything I’m doing. I have a job. I have rent to pay…
-
He pauses before sighing. “Liam…”
They continue to pester him, mainly trying to get him on board for finding Liam.
Viewer: Explain how you feel or we’ll call you gay /pos
Bryce: What's the problem with that? Nothing wrong with being Gay. Again, I don't have to explain myself... However, Liam came out all this way just to find me, to figure out a way to stop Airy. To help the others. Although we argued.. Talking with the Detective yesterday made me really sit and think about this. Think about the position Liam is in, how he must've felt. And, I can't blame him for that. I can't blame him for acting the way he did.
I just wish, I could've reacted better. Maybe even prevented him from going to that tower.
Viewer: Well we can't change the past or get him back. I mean unless you go into the waiting room and it's not like anything can send you there except the one website
Bryce: The website? You mean, the one Texty showed? How do you know that?
There’s another pause in the day before Bryce eventually makes a comment
Quote by Bryce:
… And what if I just said, screw it.
Viewers question what he meant by his statement.
Viewer: screw it?
Bryce: I'm going to get Liam back. But how can I explain this to the Detective. She'll wonder what I'm doing if I just end up like, going somewhere.
From there, he worries about whether he should tell the Detective or not. Though, viewers mention how he doesn’t have to, saying he’s already gone missing once. Bryce takes a second but agrees, now coming to terms with a small plan with Texty.
With them planning away, the viewers finally manage to reach Liam, who is in the Waiting Room. He’s surprised but glad to have the viewers back. After idling chatting with users, he’s asked about Owen, who is still unconscious towards the side, laying down.
While Liam is distracted with viewers… Owen wakes up, though his setting around him is changed. The waiting room for him is different, appearingly at a beach of some sorts, with crashing waves and seagulls. A voice is heard towards the side, which instantly catches his attention. He’s captivated by his surroundings, the surreal experience causing him to be frozen in place as he takes it all in.
Staring straight ahead, he spots someone. There, in the distance, near the entrance of the shoreline, is his mother, who is waiting for him. She smiles sweetly, calling out to him
Quote by Owen’s Mom:
Well don’t just stand there. Let’s go!
Liam is immediately told of what Owen is doing, and calls back out to him.
Owen doesn’t react, so Liam pops out in front of him. Owen is taken aback, staring at Liam in shock. He’s confused as to how they both are there. Liam points out it was due to the lighting strike they both endured. Owen takes a moment to collect the information before Liam points towards the back, saying that while he was out, he finally found the Radio and chairs. All Owen could do was stay silent as he looked back towards his mother, in which she smiled again, waving.
Owen is then called over by Liam towards the Radio and chair. Heading over, he spots the chairs, which to him are beach chairs. Finally, he asks the question. “Why are we at the beach?”
There is then a cut to Bryce, who is sat in his apartment, staring towards the ceiling in silence. Tapping his hand on the laptop, he asks about Liam, and how he’s doing. Viewers reply, giving Bryce not much of an answer. Though, he addresses that he’ll be meeting with Taylor that night.
Some users seemed to have enjoyed messing with Bryce, giving troll-like comments of what Liam and Owen were doing, and even comments regarding his sister. Obviously annoyed and pissed, he tells them to F-off and ends up being in a sour mood for some time. He even starts to push a bit of blame on Owen for getting them both killed on the tower.
Quote by Bryce:
I'm talking about that nail. Owen, was it? Yeah. On the drive over to the seaside, we knew the storm was coming. The Detective even warned him. But no, he just had to go up there.
Liam could've had a chance to come down.
He’s then asked more questions, some of Taylor, as well as his life. More comments come through, in which he doesn’t answer, declaring that most of the users are weird. However, a viewer comes up to apologize for the others.
Viewer: bryce im sorry that so many of us are weirdos i think its chronic,, ANYWAYS!! im sure taylor would listen to you regarding what happened!! try to keep your chin up man ,:)
Bryce: Yeah.. I guess so. I hope she's alright. On the Plane, towards the end of her run if I can remember.. She was feeling down. Didn't talk much to anyone. Though, I don't know when she left, since I was.. Sleeping.
There is a pause before Bryce expresses how he wish Liam was there.
Quote by Bryce (after his comment on Liam):
don't say its because I like him or anything. He was just, a good friend on the Plane. He came out all this way just to reach me, and... ugh
I should've just went with him.
With more comments coming in, as well of Bryce answering some, a viewer expresses how bad of an idea Bryce has going on with finding Liam.
Viewer: I cannot stress exactly how bad of an idea dieing is without someone like liam there to help you not just walk off into the afterlife.
Bryce: ... Then what do I do then?? Just sit here, waiting?
What if this never goes away. There goes the next 7 months of my life learning to just accept this and move on like nothing happened. As if those people back there wasn't some weird acid dream I somehow had.
I'll have to deal with this looming over my head and have to deal with seeing Liam's body being shocked in my dreams for however long it goes on for before I end up right back here, in my shitty little apartment, with a shitty food job. Sure, I'll make the best of it, because now I have a purpose to do those things! But I... I...
...
... I'm, speaking to myself. I'm talking to whoever I'm talking to right now, over these decisions I'm about to make that will surely change the life I know it, once again.
This is when Bryce reveals that Texty did some searching and actually found kill commands.
Quote by Bryce:
Kill commands. On each objects listing.
I'm wondering who put together this..
That's why after I meet with Taylor, I'm... I'm going in with Texty. To see if I can find Liam.
With that, he gathers his things before heading to the station to meet Taylor.
Cutting back to Liam and Owen, both are seated on the two chairs, unsure of what to really do. Viewers reassure them that Bryce is doing everything he can, and actually has a plan to get Liam out… but never said anything about Owen. Owen gives a look and questions if Bryce will actually do that, while Liam cuts in, saying that Bryce must be finding a way to get them BOTH out. They say they’ve already tried the radio, but nothing comes up. Only loud static. So they don’t mess with it again. Viewers ask a question, which catches both of them off guard. Liam asks viewers to not be weird, while Owen remains silent.
It's then, Owen gets up and walks off towards the side, leaving Liam confused. Though he does have an idea as to why he left, he questions the viewers if they said anything to him in particular.
It’s revealed that Owen thinks the viewers are freaks for continuously making comments about both him and Liam. He states the two of them are just friends, nothing more. It’s confirmed when a viewer states that Owen is weirded out by the comments made. Then, viewers shift their concerns to where Owen is going, in which he tells them that he has an urge to go to her.
Quote by Owen:
I can’t help but just, stare at her… I want to go to her.
This is when users mention ‘the bond’, in which Owen questions it. They then cut back to Liam, who is scolding the viewers for bothering Owen.
Quote by Liam:
I told you guys not to overwhelm him. Guys got some anxiety. Give him some space.
Viewers then remind Liam about the notes, saying they could use it on the radio. Liam, who is a bit surprised at the comment, quickly urges the viewers to keep an eye on Owen while he works the radio. There, he tries to put in Stone’s numbers, yet nothing happens. Though, upon taking a viewer's suggestion, he raises the radio’s antenna. Thus.. sending Liam to wherever the numbers took him to.
This is when Owen is snapped out of his daze, instantly feeling a shift in the area. Looking around, he notes that Liam is gone, which causes him to freak out. Rushing back to the radio, he calls out for Liam, not getting an answer back. Viewers quickly tell Owen to go to the radio and move the antenna up, mainly to ‘test’ a theory. Owen does so in a hurry, having nothing happen for a moment before freaking out. Then, he too vanishes.
The Nightly Manor EVENT
A quick TL DR summary of the event; mainly this was just a fun silly event to get the audience interested/have fun with another object show crossover! :] Originally I was going to have this as non canon, but switched it up to be canon to the storyline
Summary:
Both Owen and Liam end up in the show ‘The Nightly Manor’, which is (CURRENTLY) a 5 episode show in which a group of objects are invited to a dinner party at a remote mansion, far from town. The two finally reunite in the main area, having Liam being spoken with by Speaker. Owen and Liam share a hug ( Owen rushes up and hugs Liam, as well as holds him when questioning the others there ). It’s shown/hinted that Sketchpad can also hear the viewers due to not actually being from ‘The Nightly Manor’s universe ( I believe this is canon lore from what I viewed? )
Continuing on, the story progresses as would the storyline for ‘The Nightly Manor’ would!
Though, Liam is with Spraypaint ( in the original storyline, Spraypaint was alone ). The two stick together in search of their friends ( Owen and Mouse ). Mouse and Owen are revealed to be together, both chatting to pass the time, as well as talking good of their friends. There’s a slip up, where Mouse things Owen and Liam are together, which Owen corrects due to his bad phrasing.
Briefly moving back to the others, Spraypaint spots someone and the two rush to see what’s up. Upon turning the corner, both Spraypaint and Liam discover an awful tragedy. Ring was down… having turned up dead. Both Speaker and GPS are there to witness, being the first two to see.
Cutting back towards Mouse and Owen, the two note that they haven’t seen anyone in a while. They both make their way down a hall which they haven’t gone through before. Having Owen take the lead, the two note how dark it was to see. Owen ends up tripping over something, resulting in him falling face down. There is soon a crash heard.
Back to the scene with Spraypaint and Liam, the two are seated in the hall, both silent as Speaker and GPS talk, trying to figure out a plan, as well as Speaking contacting Sketchpad. This is when viewers tell Liam of Owen possibly in danger, which he reacts strongly for. Quickly jumping up, he expresses to everyone that he must go find his friend. With a beat going by, the sound of Owen’s yell fills the halls, which in return causes Liam to turn and run towards it. Speaker tells GPS and Spraypaint to stick together while he follows Liam. Liam disregards comments from the users, instead yelling for them to help him find Owen.
Running for some time, Liam approaches a hallway, spotting a body along the floor.
Mouse was dead.
Speaker soon walks up next to Liam as Liam leans against the wall, shaken up. He couldn’t see Owen anywhere.
While Speaker deals with Mouse’s body, Liam sneaks away in order to find his friend, which he continues to call out for. During this time, a shadow is spotted behind Liam. It isn’t till down the line, does he find a room with a fireplace. There, a confrontation is held between him and GPS, who seems hellbent on attacking Liam.
Liam is soon seen through the hall, running from GPS. GPS, while wielding a fireplace poker, taunts at Liam, urging him to come back. This is when viewers try to STOP GPS from harming him further… in retaliation, GPS brings the viewer’s chat box down, destroying it briefly, as well as disabling them from making any comments for some time.
From there, GPS corners Liam, ending his life.
They are then cut back to Owen, who was found by both Sketchpad and Tophat.
This is when Owen feels a shift. As well as the line bounded by the two is revealed to be straight now. He asks the viewers to tell him where Liam is urgently, not wanting to freak out both Tophat and Sketchpad. As much as he doesn’t want to abandon the two, he ends up leaving in order to find his friend. Especially when they make comments of something, or someone, harming Liam. He announces that he’s leaving to find Liam, having both Tophat and Sketchpad say their goodbyes, while also stating that GPS called them to the kitchen from Speaker’s walkie talkie.
Here, Owen runs into Spraypaint, who had already discovered Liam. Spraypaint expresses that Owen should not see him, given how Liam had been dragged to the nextrooms fireplace. Owen begins to freak out and slightly dissociate. He sees flashes of the moments before his death, from Liam meeting him on the road, to up on the tower where they both perished. He cries out for his friend as he collapses into Spraypaints arms. There, he visions Liam standing in front of him, calling out to him briefly before he reaches out. Owen looks down at his hands before blinking, now directly looking at Spraypaint, who hugs him. The two share a moment to grieve their friends.
Eventually, over some time, both Spraypaint and Owen are walking together. Though, after a moment, Owen stops, watching Spraypaint walk ahead of him. He’s silent for some time before finally speaking up, stating he doesn’t know what to do now, and that he shouldn’t even be there. He expresses that he should’ve held onto Liam tighter.
A viewer expresses that Owen should go back to the waiting room. Owen explains he doesn’t know how to get there, but before he could continue, he hears a yell from the main area. Running through, he spots GPS and Spraypaint fighting it out, both of them throwing fists while Sketchpad and Tophat struggle to open the front doors. He notes that Speaker is towards the side, dead.
The three struggle, both Spraypaint and Owen fighting GPS with all their might. Its then, GPS smashes Owen through the front doors, causing Sketchpad and Tophat to be in the crossfire briefly. GPS yells at Owen, saying “ YOU DON’T BELONG HERE! “, confirming that the virus inside of GPS is well aware that both Liam and Owen don’t belong in his universe. GPS taunts at Owen, saying that they should’ve killed Owen first, since Liam was too easy. Owen grows more angry by the minute, though is kicked off by GPS. Spraypaint is quick to grab GPS, having GPS look down to Owen, grinning. There, GPS comments how they could fix everything, and thus starting the countdown. Owen’s eyes go wide as they quickly get up, jumping towards Spraypaint in an attempt to push him away, but it’s too late. GPS explodes, causing all three to die.
This concludes The Nightly Manor EVENT
Viewers are shown a couch in a house, lights turned off.
The next scene, the lights come on, and Taylor walks into frame, smiling as she carries a bag. She’s talking to someone, mostly about dinner. The next scene over, Ava comes into frame, expressing that she’ll cook for both her and Bryce, who then appears behind Ava in the next frame. Viewers quickly find out that Taylor can hear them, seeing how Taylor silently waves towards them.
Eventually, Ava gets a call and walks out, leaving the two alone. Taylor is quick to happily address the users, saying hello excitedly. Viewers greet Taylor, asking as to how she’s been.
Quote by Taylor:
Good I think. I’m with Bryce and Ava right now because of this Police case Ava has.
Quote by Bryce:
We’re stuck with Ava because of what happened
-
mentions/recalls the events at the tower
Viewers chat with the two for a moment, eventually chatting with Bryce briefly before dinner comes. There is a period of long silence, in which over time, Bryce comments about it, saying it could be a good thing.
Eventually, viewers ask questions about Taylor.
Viewer: Soooo have you filled in Taylor about everything yet? And if so what's the current running plan to rescue Liam?
Bryce: I've told Taylor as much as I know. I haven't... told her about, what happened to Liam. Nor has Ava, because we do not think it's best to tell her at this time. Especially since we have no clue as to where both of their bodies have gone to… well, I mean, I have an idea. But, yeah. Taylor only knows little. I told her about you guys though, since.. I figured, she could hear you guys too.
This is where viewers joke and tell Taylor about a supposed ‘crush’ Bryce has on Liam, which she fully believes. A day later, Taylor is shown to be at the park relaxing, taking a breather. There, viewers ask her questions. Below is the full transcript of the questions and answers.
Viewer: how are you feeling about all of whats going on taylor? you were one of the first ones to return... must feel weird going back to this investigation again after months
Taylor: I feel totally like, awkward I think. When I found out that Soda.. Bryce, was here… I wanted to see him. He’s the first one I saw here. He makes me feel like… a little less insane. It was hard to really not let it get to me, you know?
Viewer: TAYLOR HI HI HI HI HI HOW ARE YOU HI TAYLOR WAVES ARMS AROUND HAPPILY
Taylor: Hi hi! I’m okay! Adjusting still I think, to being out here.
Viewer: hi taylor :D how did you meet Bryce and Ava ( after the plane incident ofc- )
Taylor: I requested to see Bryce after hearing he was back, and Ava was with him. I really.. Hoped, the others were with him too, but… it seems like they weren’t so lucky.
Viewer: i wish i could ask magazine questions but her name is my dead name and :( going anon for this because yeah :( i feel bad calling her Magazine too CRIES
Taylor: Hey! That’s okay! If you’d like, you can call me Nolan then!
Viewer: Taylor do you think you'll be going with Bryce to get Liam and Owen back? It's possibly dangerous and I'm not sure your parents would be cool with it.
Taylor: That’s… the thing… I’m only out here for like.. A couple more days. Then, I have to go back…home, since I think they’ll still be investigating…
Viewer: If anything, you should try and go with them. If you’re up for it atleast.
Taylor: I’d like to… I like hanging out with Bryce and Ava. It’s nice.. They’re very nice to me. Maybe.. If I ask Ava to talk to my parents.. I can stay longer.
Viewer: Have you and Bryce talked about anything since you guys met up, Taylor?
Taylor: Just only about when he got here and… how he met backpack again. But, they got into an argument, and then backpack went missing again.
- She mumbles softly to the viewers, saying : “ he sort of blames himself because he and backpack got into an argument apparently..”
Viewer: None of this is your fault Taylor. Don’t blame yourself if they don’t come home
Taylor: … yeah, I know… It’s just, I dunno. I wish they’re able to come home, just like Bryce.
Viewers then hand Taylor a Liam plush, stating that she should give it to Bryce. She happily takes it, and says the plush is cute! Upon returning home, Taylor gives Bryce the plush, which he is confused by and asks why the viewers gave Taylor this to give to him. Moving on, the two are seen walking down the hall together when Taylor asks Bryce for help in convincing Ava to let her stay longer. He’s confused, giving a look as he asks why, seeing that Taylor is to return home soon. Taylor quickly drops the comment, heading to her room now. Viewers ask Bryce to help Taylor, but he states that it isn’t right, and very much illegal, since Taylor is a teenager. They couldn’t just keep her here.
Quote by Bryce:
See, you guys don’t understand.
She’s a teenager. She has parents that look over her.
She needs to go back home. I cannot physically keep her here if her parents are waiting for her.
That’s when discovers she is crying in her room, which he states he doesn’t know what to do. Viewers urge him to go help calm her down, but he’s unsure, not wanting to say the wrong thing. Though, he eventually follows through and enters her room, seeing her sitting on the bed. She’s clearly upset. Bryce stares at her, eventually seeing something familiar right beside her.
He’s hesitant, but enters her room, approaching her. Once greeting her, she freaks out, saying she wasn’t at all crying.
The two talk, both of them sitting together. Bryce questions as to why Taylor wants to stay here longer, in which Taylor tries to avoid the answer. Bryce insists, in which Taylor replies:
Quote by Taylor:
It’s not like my life will return back to its boring self. The same boring thing. Like before, how my life will go back to its same routine. Wake up, go to school, go to work, go home and go to sleep. Like its fine because I love my parents and they both love me. But… but gosh, it’s so so hard. Hahahaha… but it’s fine… cuz that’s like, right? Just so… crazy…
This is when Bryce has a flashback, going as far back as to when he was a kid. There, he is met by his sister. Stella, who is seemingly waiting for him. This is the entire transcript of their conversation.
Stella: You’ve been standing there for some time, Bry. You know we’ve got to go.
Bryce: What?? Why can’t we stay a bit longer?
Stella: Because mom said we’ve got to. Dad’s going to pick us up for the weekend.
Bryce: Oh.. but can’t we stay here a bit longer, please?
- In a mumbling tone: “ I don’t like his new girlfriend “
Stella: I’m afraid not. You know how they get if we’re late… especially mom.
Bryce: … Okay….
Stella: Why don’t you want to go back?
Bryce: I just, don’t wanna..
Stella: Bryce…
Bryce: … I really don’t like moving around a lot.. I like… hanging here, with you.. You help me feel better.
Stella: … how’s about this. We have to go back soon… but! I’ll play with you in the sand put. And on the way back… I’ll buy us some icecream.
Bryce: Really? But what about mom and dad?
Stella: You know I’ll handle it Bry, like I always do.
Bryce: You’re the best Stella!
Stella: Ha! I know. Now, let’s go play for a bit more.
The scene soon shifts back to Bryce and Taylor in the room, Taylor giving Bryce a look as she states she’s going out for a walk. She also mentions they’ll need to cover dinner tonight, since Ava will be home late. There a quick conversation between Taylor and Bryce happens. Transcript below
Taylor: Just text me.. What you wanna eat tonight.
Bryce: H-How’s about I join you?
Taylor: Huh?
Bryce: We can pick up dinner! Plus, I think we deserve some dessert. I know a good icecream shop nearby, which honestly is a good place to check out.
Taylor: Really? Are you sure?
Bryce: Yeah, I’m sure. My treat okay?
Taylor: Awesome! Let’s go then before it gets late!
Bryce: Agreed, let’s go.
Taylor: You’re the best, Bryce.
Bryce: Ha… I know…
This is when the viewers get a comment from Bryce, saying that he may in fact talk to Ava.
Eventually, after some time, viewers finally see Owen, who is unconscious. He appears to be back on the beach ( waiting room). Soon, he hears a voice, telling him to wake up. Though, upon waking up, he doesn’t see the chairs or radio anywhere. Instead, he sees his mother, standing not too far from him. He wants to go to her, even walking forward a bit before a viewer asks of Liam. There, he feels a beat. Looking around frantically, he notices that Liam isn’t around either.
Looking back towards his mother, he panics. The urge to run to her, plus the urge to search for Liam are both great, he begins to break down. The viewers also speak over him, telling him he should find Liam.
Though before he can speak, his mother is right beside him, telling him to listen to the viewers. To find Liam. The transcript between Owen and his mom below
Owen’s Mom: I’ve raised such a perfect son… but baby, it’s not your time.
Owen: Mom– I-
Owen’s Mom: Hey… it’s alright. What you need to do, is find Liam. I knew he was special.
Owen: But…but mom… what about you?
Owen’s Mom: Oh my boy… you know I will always be here for you. But right now, someone else needs you more.
Owen: W-What if I need you now?! More than ever?! I never– I never got to tell you how much you meant to me!! I don’t want to let you go now! Please mom, I’m– I’m so scared. I– I’m so–...
There Owen’s mother hugs him tightly, cutting Owen off from finishing his words. The two embrace each other for some time before his mother pulls back, hands along his shoulders. She gives a smile, both having tears in their eyes. She tells him that it’s hard, and she knows that, but right now, Liam needs Owen, more than ever. Owen looks down, wiping his tears, expressing his worries. Transcript between the two below
Owen: What if I can’t do anything
Owen’s Mom: You’re a Thompson. You can do anything, my son. And what do The Thompson’s never do?
Owen: … Never give up.
Owen’s Mom: … That’s my boy.
The scene around them during their entire conversation changes. From the once lively beach, to the default waiting room atmosphere. Both the beach and Owen’s mother are now gone, leaving Owen alone.
Viewers are soon sent to Liam’s view ( through video as to show where he currently is )
Video - LINK HERE :D
From there, Liam is being attacked by unbound spirits, who reach out to him with unsettling wide smiles and blank eyes. They try to reassure him, giving him false words of comfort as they approach, in which he quickly retaliates and yells back at them. Getting up to run, Liam makes his way through the void like room, a few unbound spirits following after him. Though, in the process of running, he is grabbed by his leg below. Tripping and falling on his face, Liam is now faced with an unbound spirit grabbing his leg, which he kicks off. Though, unaware, a white patch starts for form along his ankle.
Viewers try to reach Liam, though their efforts of help aren’t working, as Liam urges users to find Owen for him. Viewers then are sent to Owen, who is looking around the waiting room, lost and confused, calling out for Liam. Users urge Owen to find Liam fast, saying that he is in trouble. This only hinders Owen, since he cannot figure out where exactly Liam is. He is continuously told information of what’s happening to his friend, not at all being helped out, which angers him. He begins to yell at the viewers, nearly begging them for help in locating Liam.
Cutting back to Liam, viewers point out the white climbing his leg, which continues to grow, causing Liam to yell in fear.
Upset, Owen falls to his knees, banging his fists along the floor as viewers can not help him. Though, upon doing that, he sees a form take shape below the waters of the waiting room. Liam, all along, has been right under Owen’s feet, in a dark room. He tries to claw at the floor, unable to reach him. Viewers urge him to break through, which results in Owen yelling, saying he is trying as best as he can. As this is happening, Liam gets attacked once more, two unbound spirits now grabbing at him, starting to tug at his limbs, as if trying to drag him back.
During the intense struggle, Liam and viewers watch as more of the void climbs his body, as well as the white outlines. In fear and desperation, Liam calls out to Owen for help.
This causes Owen to snap, finally breaking through the floors, which results in both side getting a shockwave, causing them to fall back briefly. Viewers yell at Owen to grab Liam, in which he quickly flings himself at the hole’s entrance, reaching downwards. The void feels cold, almost frozen. But that doesn’t stop him.
He reaches for Liam, who is nearly covered in the void and white outline. Through a broken voice, Liam calls for Owen once again, weakly reaching an am up. There, Liam faints, dropping his arm instantly, though… Owen quickly snatches it, yanking him up hurriedly.
From there, Owen pulls Liam through, both of them now laying on their sides. There’s a pause before Owen quickly sits up, eyes wide, worried that he couldn’t reach Liam in time… but right beside him lies his friend, unconscious and still covered in the void/white outline. Moving over towards him, Owen cradles Liam, brushing his hand along his face, making sure he was still breathing. Though, it’s cut momentarily short upon seeing one of the unbound spirits reaching out from the hole. Carefully putting Liam down, Owen approaches the hole, looking down at the unbound spirit in disgust. He frowns darkly before finally putting his foot up, slamming it down onto the unbound spirit harshly, sending them back into the hole.
It isn’t said/addressed in the comic strips, but the hole overtime closes, patching itself up.

This bit here explains where Liam was/the Lore of the Room
The Null Room
Explanation of what the Null Room is down below :]
A room where nothing is left. A room where the waiting are pulled into, where they are left to aimlessly walk; to float.
You ever wonder where those lost in the waiting room end up?
They are taken here, safe and forever kept .
Forever bound to the endless void of their gatekeeper, lost in the realm of nothingness. Their lives scatter amongst the dark cracks they call home, memories diminished at the seams of who they once were. They lose themselves, unable to return to the lives they once had; to the being they once were.
They are left as unbound spirits, their physical forms now erased as they are left in a glistening white light, surrounded by darkness. Left with an unsettling smile, as well as blank eyes, those in the Null Room are drawn to newcomers, often the ones to draw them in, luring them deeper into the void. They grasp onto whatever they can to pull the newcomer in, engulfing them in darkness before they too are turned. They also speak words of affirmation, trying to coax the newcomer and give them feigned reassurance.
The gatekeeper is almost NEVER seen. It’s led to believe the gatekeeper has no physical form.

The next scene viewers see, is a flashback to Liam and Owen’s college days.
Both appear to be returning to their dorm together, Liam having Owen leaned on him as he takes him to bed. It’s clear the two may have been drinking, which Liam expresses in the transcript. Full transcript of their conversation/flashback below
Owen: That was INSANE!
Liam: It was! But, right now, let’s get you to bed. Tonight really was needed, especially with tests coming up. Though, you did sort of overdid yourself dude. You need to be careful, amigo.
Owen: Okay okay!! I know!! But I’m in good hands!!
Liam: What do you mean?
Owen: I’ve got you, Liam!!
Liam: Okay– well, what if I’m not there?? You’ll get into trouble dude.
Owen: Oh, you’ll be there. Because, I’ll always be there. For you, that is.
Liam: Sure…
Owen: I’m serious Plecak! You’re my best friend, ever. Drunk or not, I will always be there for you, bud.
Liam: …. Goodnight, Mr. Thompson.
The flashback ends into a new setting, in where Owen is dazed off, a voice calling to him. Blinking, he looks forward, noticing a familiar face. He’s about to be recorded. The room around him is cold. This corresponds to the beginning of ONE Investigations: Owen Thompson. Transcript of conversation below
Owen: huh?
Ava: I said we’re about to begin with this interview
Owen: Oh… right
Ava: When I begin recording, please state your name
Owen: … okay
There’s a pause in time before viewers get an update on the status of everyone.
In the most recent lore video, viewers see an update into Owen/Liam, as well as Taylor/Bryce/Ava.
Video - LINK HERE :D
In the video, viewers get to see Liam’s condition. Upon waking up from a nightmare, Owen looks to Liam, seeing that he is in fact okay, as well as healed from the void/white outline. Sighing heavily, Owen looks to the side. There, he notices the chairs and radio. Staring for some time, he gathers the courage to pick Liam up and take him over. There, he messes with the radio, putting in a random number before stopping, turning to look down towards his friend, as if… debating.
Viewers are then cut to Bryce, who is checking in on Taylor. Taylor, who is sleeping soundly, has a phone right next to her. ( it hasn’t been said, but it’s most likely Taylor has been texting her friend, Charise, updating them on her plans ). Bryce is content and leaves Taylor to sleep, though upon passing a mirror, he looks at himself. In a brief flash, it’s revealed that Bryce is still grieving and still has guilt over the death of Liam. Jumping back, he looks away from the mirror and hurries down the hall, avoiding contact.
While passing through the hall, Ava is shown to be on a laptop. ( It isn’t said, but the laptop is confirmed to be Texty, but they haven’t said a word to Ava ). It’s depicted that Ava is continuously on this case involving those on the Plane. The entire case seems to have her in a hold, which is seemingly stressing her out, knowing there’s barely anything to go off on. This has resulted in her drinking occasionally, more often than before. In the main room, it’s shown that she has a large board with information on the case, having photos of those involved. She stares at it while drinking, taking a moment before turning around.
In the video, the characters ( Liam, Owen, Charlotte, Amelia ) are all pointing towards Ava. It’s implied that Ava feels responsible for finding the missing objects, that it’s her duty to figure out the mystery in the many disappearances of each individual, especially Liam and Owen.
