   *OMG I HAVE BEEN SO STRESSED ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO FINISH READING THIS FIC*

   I watched the final chapters pile up and the longer it goes the harder it is because re-reading can give me horrible dysphoria from only partial memory, especially if i have already left comments (I cannot fully express to anyone this hasn't happened to how freaky it is to not remember something and then com across evidence of your own presence).
   This happens mostly with fics i didn't finish and/or already regularly re-read. It's worse with longer fics. More to forget.

   You pick up the best stuff. I am unreasonably excited by the prospect of being able to pick this up again without running the risk of sending myself spiralling.

   Too personal? Probably. "Oh wow this is exciting!" Would probably do but this is actually extra special for me, and i habitually over share! Woo! No one has to read it lol.

   And that, in my opinion, you have fantastic taste. Obdviously.

   I am still trying to get the rss feed on VLC working but. Eventually. Probably. I'll figure it out.

   You should absolutely steal pictures from the british museum whenever you can. It seems fair. The british museum gets no rights and should give it's stuff back.

   ^_^ just. Yesssssss.

    

   Perhaps a less fraught meeting;)

   I do love this fic. The pacing is absolutely amazing on it and our introductory chapter is an absolute delight in part because of this pacing. We get to see lwj's life, how he's living it, what he's doing, etc. we get an idea of a war free backdrop. We get a sense of competency established in LWJ and a reputation for WWX, as well as the understanding that lwj ais not willing to judge wwx the same way everyone else is.

   I love the ending of the chapter, it's so perfectly just on the edge of what the audiance is here for. Absolutely excellent.

   This story is so good! Casefic always has a special place in my heart. I'm so glad you chose it. And yes, this first meeting is gentler and less fateful than canon. They aren't forced together, they choose to join up. I like it so much. ❤️

      Yes, that's totally it! The world is still dark but they get to be much softer versions of themselves (and therefore, with each other) and I love that for them so much.

   I don't get how are you finding these long fics with descriptions that I like. Because I swear I've looked up those tags and gone by word count. Am I blind? Maybe haha. Thank god I have you that somehow always choose to podfic what I like (seriously between all the ones you've made and I haven't gotten to listen yet I think I don't have interest in only two)

    I'm also not much of a case fic reader but I remember liking your read of the boat mystery. I didn't finish that one tho :( and I don't remember in which chapter or time stamp I left it. (the last thing I remember is Yangli finding put about everything and trying to get more and more involved.

    For me, the narration of this fic feeñs like the tone a DnD master often takes when narrating haha.

    This fic has been wonderful!! I also love how soft they can be with each other in this au and love that Wei Ying can think of the Jingshi and the Cloud Recesses as “home.” It’s possible he might feel less need to rebel (not that it was bad in canon) because he’s been supported by his parents to develop his inventions and his ingenuity and to exercise his free spirit while traveling. Also I love all the doggie noises and snoring.💛 Thanks for your reading!!

    Absolutely agree about the instant obsession. Lan Wangji is not curious about a doctor’s reputation. He wants to know if Wei Wuxian is dating Wen Qing and he wants to know yesterday. The subtlety when he's thinking about Wei Wuxian’s exposed collar bone is...not.

    Such a fun story that I have forgotten almost entirely! Looking forward to the nighthunting!

    Totally agree that kind and caring parents probably wouldn't let Wei Wuxian name his sword Whatever.

    We also ate pigeons. They didn't even fly off on their own - they were mass abandoned in the industrial revolution and after. There were also advertising campaigns to convince people not to eat rhem and to buy meat instead.

    Pigeons are kinda sad, really. Jokes about pigeon nests make me sad because the fuckers were bred to nest in sensible little boxes.

    It's strange but your performance really evokes the soundscape of this chapter in a way that didn’t really catch with me when I read it. The clip clopping horse hooves, pattering raindrops, and strumming guqin are so apparent. I think it's because you make space for them as you read aloud. It's lovely.

    Heck yeah rebellion! If there must be Mondays, let them be rebellious on occasion. ❤️✊️
