Chapter Text

Draco Malfoy woke up to the soft light filtering through the heavy curtains of his lavish bedroom. It had been six years since his arranged marriage to Harry Potter, now the King of the wizarding world. Draco, the Queen, had grown accustomed to the routine of their lives, even if it wasn’t what he had once imagined.

He stretched and sat up, his mind wandering to the early days of their marriage. Back then, he had been indifferent, even resentful, of the arrangement. But time had a way of changing things. Now, he found himself caring deeply for Harry, even if Harry’s heart belonged to another.

Harry’s mistress, Anna, had been a constant presence in their lives. She and Harry shared a separate room, leaving Draco to his own thoughts and solitude. Despite this, Draco had come to terms with the situation sure there was still tension, lots of it. But He had his own role to play, and he took pride in his duties as Queen.

A soft knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. “Come in,” Draco called.

The door opened to reveal Eliza, Draco’s favorite maid. She had been with him since the beginning of his marriage, and her presence was a comforting constant in his life. Eliza was efficient and kind, always knowing exactly what Draco needed.

“Good morning, Your Majesty,” Eliza greeted with a warm smile. “Shall we get you ready for the day?”

“Good morning, Eliza,” Draco replied, returning her smile. “Yes, please.”

Eliza moved gracefully around the room, selecting Draco’s attire for the day. She chose a deep green robe that complemented his pale complexion and silver-blond hair. As she helped him dress, they chatted about the day’s plans.

“How are you feeling today, Your Majesty?” Eliza asked, fastening the intricate clasps of his robe.

“I’m well, thank you,” Draco said. “I have a meeting with the council later. We’re discussing the new educational reforms.”

“That’s wonderful to hear,” Eliza said, her eyes shining with pride. “You’ve done so much for the kingdom.”

Draco appreciated her words. Eliza had always been supportive, and her encouragement meant a lot to him. Once he was dressed, she stepped back to admire her work.

“There, all set,” she said with a satisfied nod. “Shall we head to breakfast?”

“Yes, let’s,” Draco agreed.

Together, they made their way to the dining hall. The long table was already set, and Harry was seated at the head, reading a letter. Anna sat beside him, her hand resting lightly on his arm. Draco took his place opposite them, offering a polite smile.

“Good morning, Draco,” Harry greeted, looking up from his letter. His emerald eyes held a warmth that Draco had come to cherish, even if it wasn’t the romantic love he longed for.

“Good morning, Harry. Anna,” Draco replied, nodding to each of them.

The servants brought in a variety of dishes, and the aroma of freshly baked bread and brewed coffee filled the air. Draco helped himself to a croissant and some fruit, savoring the quiet moments of their morning routine.

“Any plans for today?” Harry asked, breaking the silence.

“I have a meeting with the council later,” Draco said, taking a sip of his tea. “We’re discussing the new educational reforms.”

“That’s wonderful,” Anna chimed in, her voice soft and encouraging. “You’ve done so much for the kingdom, Draco.”

Draco smiled, appreciating her kind words. Despite the complexities of their relationship, he and Anna had developed a mutual respect. She understood his position and never tried to undermine it.

As they continued their breakfast, Draco couldn’t help but steal glances at Harry and Anna. He saw every touch, the lingering stares, the small smiles, and the way Harry’s arm rested on her thigh. Each gesture was a painful reminder of the love and intimacy that he longed for but had resigned himself to never having.

Draco once wanted that—love, a real connection with his partner. But he stopped dreaming about it once he got married. The reality of his situation had set in quickly. Harry had a mistress, and if Harry did, then Draco could too, right? Those thoughts had come to an abrupt stop once his father pulled him aside one day and warned him to not even think about it.

“Remember your place, Draco,” Lucius had said, his voice cold and commanding. “It is improper for the Queen to have a mistress. You have a duty to uphold the dignity of our family and the crown.”

Draco had nodded, swallowing his desires and accepting his fate. He figured it was rather improper for the Queen to have a mistress, and so he focused on his role, supporting Harry and fulfilling his duties with grace and poise.

As breakfast continued, Draco pushed his thoughts aside and engaged in polite conversation. He discussed the upcoming council meeting and the educational reforms he was passionate about.

After breakfast, the carriage was ready to take Draco to the council’s meeting. The ornate vehicle, drawn by sleek, black horses, stood waiting at the entrance of the palace. Draco took a deep breath, steeling himself for the day ahead. He had important matters to discuss, and he needed to be focused.

Eliza, ever attentive, handed him his cloak and a stack of documents. “Good luck today, Your Majesty,” she said with a warm smile. “I’m sure the council will be impressed with your proposals.”

“Thank you, Eliza,” Draco replied, appreciating her unwavering support. He climbed into the carriage, settling into the plush seats as the door closed behind him. Eliza joined him inside, her presence a comforting constant.

Two guards, dressed in the royal livery, mounted their horses and took their positions on either side of the carriage. Their vigilant eyes scanned the surroundings, ready to protect the Queen at all costs.

As the carriage rolled through the cobblestone streets, Draco’s mind wandered back to the breakfast conversation. He couldn’t shake the image of Harry and Anna, their easy intimacy a stark contrast to his own solitary existence. But he pushed those thoughts aside, focusing instead on the task at hand.

The council meeting was held in a grand chamber within the Ministry of Magic. As Draco entered, flanked by Eliza and the guards, the council members rose in respect. He took his seat at the head of the table, his presence commanding attention.

“Good morning, everyone,” Draco began, his voice steady and authoritative. “Today, we will be discussing the new educational reforms. Our goal is to ensure that every young witch and wizard receives the best possible education, regardless of their background.”

The discussion was intense and productive. Draco presented his proposals with confidence, addressing concerns and answering questions with ease. Eliza stood by his side, ready to assist with documents and notes, while the guards remained alert at the entrance. By the end of the meeting, he had secured the council’s support for his reforms.

As he left the chamber, Draco felt a sense of accomplishment. He had made a difference, and that gave him a sense of purpose. The carriage ride back to the palace was filled with thoughts of the future and the changes he hoped to bring about.

Once he got back to the palace, Draco found Harry and Anna in the garden, enjoying each other’s company. Their laughter and soft giggles filled the air as they hugged and kissed, lost in their own world. Draco’s heart ached at the sight, but he quickly composed himself.

Eliza, ever perceptive, gently touched Draco’s hand, bringing his attention to her. “Your Majesty, lunch is in about half an hour,” she informed him with a warm smile.

“Thank you, Eliza,” Draco replied, grateful for her presence. He took a deep breath and made his way to his chambers to freshen up before lunch

He really had nothing left to do. He’d already finished the letters for his parents, and the council meeting was behind him. Basically, everything else was for the King to handle. Draco found himself with an unusual amount of free time.

He considered his options and decided it was the perfect opportunity to visit his old friends, Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson. They had always been a source of comfort and familiarity, a reminder of simpler times before the weight of his royal duties.

Draco informed Eliza of his plans, and she quickly arranged for a carriage to take him to Blaise’s estate. The journey was short, and soon Draco found himself at the grand entrance of Zabini Manor. The guards opened the doors, and Draco stepped inside, greeted by the familiar opulence of his friend’s home.

“Draco!” Pansy’s voice echoed through the hall as she rushed to embrace him. “It’s been too long!”

“Pansy,” Draco replied, smiling warmly as he returned her hug. “I’ve missed you.”

Blaise appeared from a side room, his usual calm demeanor replaced with a genuine smile. “Draco, it’s good to see you. Come, let’s sit and catch up.”

They made their way to a cozy sitting room, where a fire crackled in the hearth. Draco felt a sense of relief wash over him as he settled into a plush armchair. It was good to be among friends.

“So, how have you been?” Pansy asked, her eyes filled with concern. “We hear so little from you these days.”

Draco sighed, running a hand through his hair. “It’s been… challenging. The responsibilities, the expectations. Sometimes it feels like I’m just going through the motions.”

Blaise nodded, understanding. “And Harry? How are things between you two?”

Draco hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. “It’s complicated. He has Anna, and I… well, I have my duties.”

Pansy reached out, squeezing his hand. “You deserve more than just duty, Draco. You deserve happiness.”

“I know,” Draco said softly. “But for now, this is my life. I just have to make the best of it.”

They spent the afternoon reminiscing about their school days, sharing stories and laughter. For a few hours, Draco felt like his old self again, free from the burdens of his title. It was a welcome respite, and he cherished every moment.

Time slipped away, and before Draco realized it, the sun was setting. He had missed lunch entirely, too engrossed in the comfort of his friends’ company. Realizing the hour, he quickly bid his friends farewell and hurried back to the palace.

When Draco arrived, it was already dinner time. He entered the dining hall a bit late, finding Harry and Anna already seated. Harry looked up, his expression a mix of curiosity and mild irritation.

“Where were you?” Harry asked, his tone more inquisitive than accusatory.

Draco took his seat, trying to appear nonchalant. “I visited Blaise and Pansy. I lost track of time.”

Harry’s gaze softened slightly. “You should have told me. I was worried.”

Draco nodded, appreciating the concern even if it was more about protocol than personal care. “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”

Anna smiled gently, trying to ease the tension. “It’s good that you got to see your friends, your majesty. You deserve some time for yourself.”

Draco returned her smile, grateful for her understanding. As they began their meal, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, and the earlier tension dissipated.

Later that night, as draco was walking back to his room he passed Harry’s and Anne’s bedroom, he couldn't help but hear strange sounds coming from the room. He strained his ears to listen, and he could hear Anne's voice moaning and panting.

His curiosity got the better of him, and he quietly got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around his waist. He approached Harry's room and heard Anne's cries of "Oh, Harry! Harder!"

was Harry hitting her? No no way Harry would never do that right?

draco decided to leave it for tomorrow surely Harry would never dare hit Anne and if he was hitting her then Draco would make it stop.

Chapter Text

That morning Draco could of course not hold back his tongue and asked right away the conversation was rather…awkward.

That morning Anne had come in with Draco’s maid watching him get his hair done.

Draco couldn’t help it, he just couldn’t!

“Anne” he had said looking at her thought the mirror she gave a nod and hum “yes your majesty” she had said.

Draco took a moment before asking “is Harry hitting you if he is I will make-“ and got up her yes as large as plates “no! No! Your majesty what would make you think that”

“Well I heard you yelling last night I was wondering if something happened”

Anne’s face turned red with embarrassment she started playing with the hem of her dress “no no your majesty we were just um..having-se-sex” she had stuttered out.

“Sex?” Draco had asked.

“Yes sex-wait you do know what sex is your majesty?”

Draco looked at his maid who was looking at the ceiling as if it was the most interesting thing ever “I do not” he had denied “what is sex?l

“I am truly sorry your majesty but I don’t think I should be the one telling you this have a good morning” Anne said rushing out Alamo’s tripping on the way.

“What is sex?” Draco asked this time looking at his maid.

“I could get you some books on it I’m afraid to say I’m not rather good at explaining things like this your majesty”

Draco nodded looking back at the mirror “yea yes I want those books”

After Draco was done getting ready he had made his way to eat his breakfast same routine as ever though this time it was not comfortable at all Anne am was all flushed and red while Harry would look at everyone except Draco.

‘Weird’ Draco had thought.

He ate his breakfast as fast as he could he dreaded how quiet it was he just longed to get out of there as quick as possible.

Once he had finished his breakfast and excused his myself politely before sprinting out of dining room.

Had he done something wrong, was it the sex thing? Had Anne told Harry about the chat they had?
Maybe he should just forget about this and move on with his day that’s right that’s the best option.

Draco had headed to the garden smiling and waving at the people who worked at the castle.

Once out the door the bright sunlight had made him squint his eyes the sky was a clear blue no clouds around Draco’s had to admit he loved rainy days better but that did not mean he did not enjoy a bit of sun he wasn’t a vampire.

He headed over to the stables to see one of his favorite people in the castle Theodore Nott or as Draco liked to call him Theo they had gone to school together and shared the same group of friends they where always there for each other.

“Hello Theo!” He said with a bright smile Theo looked back at him surprised “your majesty” Theo bowed.

“Nonsense do not bow and it’s Draco to you”

Theo chuckled before taking one of Draco’s slim white hands and kissing it. “Draco” he said giving him the same smile. “I do hope your enjoying this morning”

“I am” Draco said

Theo and Draco chatted for a while before Theo was called back to work he and Draco had shared a hug before going apart.

The rest of the day was rather boring Draco had nothing to do and no where to be so he just hung around checking up in the kitchen time to time just to have DOBBY kick him out saying that tonight’s dinner was a surprise and if he was in the kitchen dinner would no longer be a surprise Draco had a agreed to not go back with a small pout.

Draco didn’t want to repeat the uncomfortable silence that he Harry and Anne had shared in breakfast so he took the rest of his meals in his room.

As night reached and Draco didn’t show up for dinner Harry had worried so he went up in the direction of Draco’s room.

He stopped infront of the door and nocked 3 times. He was gonna nock again but the door was opened carefully.

And behind said door stood Draco Harry let out a sight he didn’t know he was holding. “You had me worried there Draco I thought you weren’t here since you didn’t show up for dinner neither lunch ”

Draco gave a sorry look “I didn’t mean to worry you Harry I’m fine I was eating up here next time I’ll make sure to tell you so you don’t need to worry”

“It’s fine your aloud to have your own space I get it” harry said gazing down at Draco’s night gown didn’t really cover much his collar and shoulders where uncovered his skin looked silky and smooth Harry would have had run his fingers over it if he had no self control Draco’s hair a bit messier than usual made Harry give a small smile.

Harry departed while Draco stood there looking at the empty spot where Harry used to stand was Harry..checking him out?

No no of course he wasn’t. Draco closed the door slowly and quietly before jumping back into his bed.
