Chapter Text

I sat in the car reading while waiting for everyone else. I checked the time and realized we were going to be late if we didn't leave very soon. I just sighed and went back to my book.

It seemed like Phil had realized the time as well and started shouted at them to hurry up. My mother and Bella quickly rushed to the car and we were finally on our way.

Getting through the airport was chaotic, but we managed to get on the plane just fine. I ended up sleeping most of the trip, probably ruining my sleep schedule. I didn't really care though since it was already messed up with me reading late into the night anyways.

Bella woke me up when we were landing. We hopped off the plane as quickly as possible to get our luggage and go because we didn't have to much time between this flight and the next one. Thankfully we were able to make it in time.

I ended up reading throughout this ride since it was a little shorter. I couldn't wait for us to land because it meant we would be able to finally see dad.

Chapter Text

I hurried off the plane to baggage claim not wanting to wait for Bella to take her sweet time on grabbing her carry on.

By the time I had grabbed our luggage Bella had finally made it over.

“Come on Bella. I can’t wait to see Dad.” Bella just frowned at my happy expression and continued at her slow pace.

I hurried ahead of her and was able to quickly find our father.

“ Dad!” I ran up to him and let go of our luggage so I could hug him.

“Hey kiddo. Long time no see. I can’t believe Bella and you are living with me now.” If possible my smile got bigger.

“I can’t believe it either. I don’t know why Mother wouldn’t let me move in with you earlier.”

“She was probably worried about not seeing you as much.”

“If you think so.”

Bella finally reached us and said, “Hello Dad.”

Dad immediately got kind of awkward not knowing what to say to each other.

“Umm, have a good trip?”

“Yeah, it was kind of long and the last plane was kind of small.”

Dad laughed awkwardly, “Well Port Angeles is kind of small. We also are looking at kind of a long ride ahead of us since no planes fly directly to Forks.”

Bella’s face fell a bit, but not wanting to ruin our Dad’s mood I said, “Well that should give me enough time to catch you up on all gossip.”

Dad smiled looking at. “Well let’s get your guy’s stuff in the cruiser.”

Bella’s face seemed to fall even more, “You brought that car?”

Dad’s face seemed to turn a little upset, “Yeah I drive here straight from the station.”

“Great.” I could tell Bella was not happy at all.

Bella started walking towards the cruiser leaving Dad and me to deal with all the luggage.

After putting all the luggage in trunk while Bella waited in the front seat of the car I hopped in the back while Dad hopped in the front.

I tried not to laugh as Dad tried to talk to Bella again, but she tried to give as many one word answers as possible.

The car was quickly overtaken with silence since Bella was not helping Dad hold a conversation and Dad was now sad that he couldn’t talk to his oldest daughter.

The drive passed by quickly thankfully and I was soon able to see the house I visited every summer since I was a child.

Chapter Text

I quickly hopped out of the car once it came to a stop. “Finally, freedom from whatever that was.”

That got dad to let out a small laugh, “How about you girls go and see your rooms while I get the luggage in the house. I added some stuff to your room too, Alyssa, since you will be staying here for the rest of the year.”

Bella immediately bolted for the door not wanting to be outside longer than she had to and I followed behind her.

When I reached my room, I noticed that a desk had been added as well as a computer.

I smiled at the desk happy that my father had taken the time to make sure I had the extra stuff needed for my schooling in my room and not entirely focusing on Bella like mother had done in the past.

I heard the familiar shouting outside so I went back out and saw Billy and Jacob.
