flick… flick…
When the lights go out, the murderer strikes.
“Liling, you made it! Welcome to the sleepover! Make yourself at home!” Indah said with a beam. She led Liling into the small home’s living room. There, Lukey, Elaina, and Vinny sat on the army-green couch. None of them spoke to her. They just waved in perfect sync, lacking any expression of emotion outside of insouciance. Elaina, especially, looked annoyed to see her. As the others sat and waited, someone knocked on the door. Indah rushed over to open the door. Alex was on the other side, and he was quickly welcomed. Alex smiled softly at Liling, who was reading some black book with what looked like a red Eye of Providence with limbs on the front, and waved at the others. The day went on as such until everyone was there. There was just enough room for all 12 people to set up their sleeping bags, including Indah.
Indah styled her long brown hair into a bun and put on a cheesy horror movie for the others while she prepared dinner. Around the time the movie ended, she brought in two cooked chickens. Most people in the room thought it was too much. They spent the rest of the night having fun. They played board games, told corny stories, along with other typical sleepover activities. They stayed up until 12:15 AM. Everyone was on the couch, watching Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark , when the lights began to flicker until everything went black. It was dead quiet. Liling pulled out a small lantern. Seemingly everyone else huddled together. All anyone could hear was footsteps leading away from the living room area.
