Chapter 1: Valentine's Day
Chapter Text
He slowly read the instructional page he had pulled out from a red box labeled “How to Make Caramel filled Chocolates for your Special Loved One.” Genos could have scowered his sources online on how to do it, but he had been out shopping after an S Class meeting when he found the decorative box so might as well use the very specific instructions.
There had been all these signs and special posters about the impending holiday. Valentine’s Day. It had made him pause in his shopping routine to look the items over. He had special feelings for his sensei, the great Caped Baldy; but he never acted upon his feelings because his sensei had previously expressed that he was not into guys. Were cyborgs an exception? Either way, giving chocolates to your loved ones was a tradition on Valentine’s Day though the tradition was women gifting it to men. It wouldn’t be an issue if he gave chocolate to his sensei right? After briefly thinking he had come to the conclusion his sensei might even be a little happy to get something, even if it was from his disciple. A small part of him did wonder if he would be weirded out, but it was brief. The small distraction in his shopping trip resulted in Genos buying the necessary equipment and ingredients to make homemade chocolate and caramel. That was what lead to his current situation.
Saitama-sensei was out patrolling for the day and Genos had finished his routine chores. It was the day before Valentine’s Day and he brought the box out from its hiding place, hidden so his sensei wouldn’t come across it. The cyborg tied the pink apron a little tighter – the apron something he had owned for a while and used while cooking or cleaning for his sensei – as he glanced over the last of the instructions. He was fairly exceptional at cooking but baking was an entirely different field for him that he had no experience in. The pressure was on: he had a strong sensei to impress. He didn’t even know what his sensei liked in regards to sweets. He felt like he was going into battle blind – and in a way he was.
Few hours and several tries later, Genos had the perfect batch of chocolates for his sensei. He smiled, proud of his accomplishment and did well to make them into neat little rows inside of the box. After he carefully wrapped it with ribbon, wrote on the little tag that stuck to the box, and put the box in a decorative pink bag he set it into the hiding place again. He looked at the mess he had made and sighed, quickly aiming to clean it up before his sensei got home. Genos cleaned and incinerated his failed attempts, not wanting sensei to find any traces of it, disposing it by tossing it outside over the balcony railing. By the time he was putting the dirtied apron into a load of laundry his sensei was coming through the door. “Welcome back sensei!” He quickly called out. After the fumbling of boots Saitama-sensei came into his view.
“I’m home.” Genos was pleased to find that his suit was clean – most likely from an uneventful patrol – and proceeded to start the wash. “What’s for dinner, Genos?” Saitama continued to move out of his clothes and into his stripped pajama bottoms, slumping onto the floor. Genos followed into the living room, taking the suit to fold neatly and put it back in the closet to wait for the next outing.
“I was going to make stir-fry sensei.”
“Ah, sounds good Genos.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Valentine’s Day. It had finally come. Genos was nervous, constantly needing to regulate his heat as he tried to figure out the most opportune moment to give his gift to Saitama-sensei. Of course said sensei was constantly going out to check for mail, fidgeting and anxious to see if he ever got any. Every time he did, he came back with more letters and gifts for Genos. “Huh. You really are popular Genos.” Genos ignored his sensei’s words and proceeded to burn each item out on the balcony. “Oi! You shouldn’t be so rude.”
“Would you rather have them sensei?” Genos simmered down his blaster canon from his hand, looking at his sensei. He had no interest in eating the chocolate or reading the scented letters. He was doing this mainly because he did not want his sensei to feel left out – even though his mind was screaming to go ahead and give sensei his gift. He had to find the correct time!
“No no no. Those are your gifts. It’s not good to eat someone else’s. Just…don’t get ashes in the room. It’ll get smelly and everywhere.” His sensei sighed, leaning his face against his hand, staring back at the TV screen that was currently displaying some kind of special Valentine’s Day movie. Genos continued to burn each gift he had received and watched the movie with his sensei, mainly listening to his sensei critique every part of the movie from where he stood. “There’s no way he’d fall in love with her that easy. What bologna.” “Oh come on! You knew she’d overhear.” “That would hurt your teeth with suddenly falling like that into a kiss.” It was all interesting comments, though he could only wonder what had his sensei done in previous years? Was he always walking out to check the mail box to see if he received anything only to find nothing each time he looked? Genos finished burning the batch and made sure to sweep up the left over ashes and threw them over the balcony. He shut the sliding door behind him as he padded over to sit on the opposite side of the table, staring at his sensei as he continued to comment on the movie.
Saitama was scratching mindlessly at his abdomen and it made Genos swallow as if he had a lump in his throat; a human reflex that had been commanded by his still human brain. Really. His sensei was absolutely beautiful from his perfectly bald head all the way down to his feet; his eyes wandered over him as he thought, eyes pausing again at the way he was scratching at his abdomen. It was so toned and the lines of his muscles could clearly be seen. This man was an absolute beauty. How could people not want to date him? If they were simply avoiding his sensei because they were put off of being with a man with a bald head than they weren’t worth sensei’s time. Everything was perfect and strong about this man. Finally, Genos dragged his eyes back up to his face, looking at the way his sensei was lazily watching TV.
“Sensei,” He started, making sure to get some visual cue that his sensei was listening. The cue came in the form of a flicker of brown eyes glancing to the cyborg. “Sensei, what do you typically do on Valentine’s Day?” He had to know. It took a moment, but finally his sensei turned his attention to his flat mate, looking at him.
“What’s with the sudden question?”
“I’m just curious sensei.” He was being honest with his sensei, just like always. Saitama seemed to stare right back at Genos, as searching for an answer that was longer than those four words.
“Mm… I guess I check the mail.” That much was obvious. It seemed like every half hour the hero was getting up to check. “Especially now that I’m a hero, maybe I’ll get something.” As much as his sensei said he wasn’t being a hero for people, he still perked up at the prospect of fans or being popular. “I watch movies like this one.” Saitama glanced at the TV and then back at Genos. “Not much really. Don’t really go out, too many couples are out.” He turned his attention back to the TV. Genos could not deny that his hearing receptors had heard a subtle dip in his voice, a subtle sullen tone. “Today’s a day for couples…” That statement was laced with something darker and Genos didn’t like it. He knew – well he had assessed – that his sensei had some type of depression that was connected with his bald head, his power, the way he lived. And Genos wanted to take it all away from Saitama, just give him the warmth he deserved. Many minutes passed and the statement still hung heavy in the air between them.
I still have to give sensei my gift. Genos glanced over to his hiding place and his back began to straighten more, hands resting on his lap. “Sensei!” He spoke, a little too loudly as the nerves seemed to pound through his internal system.
“Hm?” Saitama-sensei looked over at him with his usual bored expression, but it was masking something deeper. When he had his full attention Genos opened his mouth to speak only to be disrupted from his cell phone going off. Genos looked exasperated, earning a raised eyebrow from his sensei. “Huh?” A few more loud rings. “Aren’t you going to get that?”
“…yes sensei.” Genos stood and caught the call on the last ring. “Hello.” His tone was a bit sour, really hoping it was important enough to ruin an almost special moment for Genos. His eyebrows furrowed together unhappily. “Yes. I will be there shortly.” He shut his phone and turned to his sensei who had returned his attention to the movie. “Sensei, the Hero Association is calling an emergency S Class meeting.”
“Ah, you’ll miss the end of the movie.” His sensei’s hand raised in a half wave. “Have fun.”
Genos frowned. He really did not want to leave his sensei alone, not wanting him to fall into depression on being alone on such a special day for couples and loved ones. “I will hurry back to make sukiyaki for dinner.” Genos decided to grab the white bag from his hiding place since his sensei’s back was turned. He would give it to him as soon as he got back. As soon as he came through the door he would thrust the gift into his sensei’s arms. He heard the mumbled ‘okay’ and left.
Understandably, he was very irritable when he arrived for the meeting but did his best to at least try and pay attention.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The meeting lasted until the golden hour, the sun slowly beginning to descend into the sky. As he headed home, vents hissing out steam as he tried to cool down his frustration at how he had wasted the entire day in a stupid meeting, he heard the cries of people in need a few blocks away. He looked down at the pink bag containing the chocolates for his sensei, hesitating to head into battle. He didn’t want the chocolate to be harmed in any way. They had to be absolutely perfect for his sensei. But he had to fight; as much as he really wasn’t in the mood to do so. The cries and screams of help were growing so he pushed forward, running head on into the danger. It would help him let out his steam It was some sort of large, fat man in a horribly-too-tight diaper, yelling about how the love of Valentine’s Day caused him to go into turmoil and turn into the monster Cupid. He was shooting arrows at people.
Genos’ frustration was going through the roof and he had to carefully hold the bag as his whole body glowed, heating to high temperatures. His eyes narrowed, glowing furiously. “You are a real fucking pain.” It practically sounded like a loud hiss out of his mouth, glaring at the so called Cupid monster.
“Wha–? A hero! I’ll crush you with these arrows!” Genos raised his free hand in the middle of the monster’s talk.
“Incinerate.” Genos tried his best to keep the damage to a minimum, but he was incredibly frustrated and he had no time to waste. He was just a bundle of feelings right now and he knew it’d all melt away when he saw his teacher. That was what he did to him. However, anger made you careless; and his sensei was not here. After parrying for a few minutes, the fat man managing to dodge his blasts, he slipped up. He made a wrong step, a step to close and easily the fat man swung a fat, sweaty hand at him and knocked him back. His first reflex was to protect the chocolate, gripping the bag to his chest as his body barreled into a wall, cracking it. The fat man waddled over to him, sweating profusely.
“You’ll pay for trying to turn me into a crisp!” He screeched out in a voice that made his hearing receptors glitch out momentarily.
“I don’t have time to play.” Genos raised a hand, center opening and charging up with a red flame, glaring up at the man. The man raised his own hand with his bow in hand.
“Oi, fatty.” Genos’ charging immediately stopped at the voice, looking up. There was his sensei’s figure, up against the fading sky from a jump, and it was perfect. “What’s with the diaper?” A red gloved fist connected with the side of the fat man’s head, sending him flying. Saitama landed on the pavement easily and his legs bent as he slouched a little, looking at the fat figure. “Ah…” He looked down at his fist, making a very unbecoming face in anger that it took one punch, yet again. Genos stared up at Saitama, amazed his sensei was in his hero suit. “Ah. Genos.” Saitama turned to look down at him, remembering that the cyborg was there. “Are you damaged?” He bent down to his level to inspect if there were any missing limbs or flying wires. Genos held his breath even though he didn’t need to, taking just a moment to compose himself. It was true. All his frustration and emotions had melted away upon seeing the bald hero.
“I’m fine. Thank you, sensei.” He stood up as Saitama did and shook himself free of rubble. He glanced down into the bag against his chest and was relieved to see the box in good shape. “Did you finish the movie?” He returned his attention to his sensei who was currently picking at his ear with his pinky.
“Ah yeah… I thought I’d patrol till you got out of your meeting.” Saitama shrugged, looking at the monster. “Then I saw fire and smoke. Kinda figured it was you.” He looked at Genos. Genos had that very small smile he only used when he spoke to Saitama, well really anything to do with Saitama.
“Thank you, sensei.” His sensei shrugged yet again.
“It’s nothing.” Saitama looked over him again and he noticed the bag but didn’t say anything, turning. “Let’s go home, Genos.”
“Yes, sensei!” Genos smiled and nodded, quickly following after his sensei to fall into step beside him. It was a nice quiet walk as they walked back home to Z City. He held the bag, still holding it to his chest. “Ah, sensei?” He slowed his steps to a halt, looking down. He felt his core begin to whirr loudly in his chest cavity.
“Hm?” Saitama stopped a few feet ahead when he realized the cyborg had stopped, turning to him. “Genos?” He had a slight confused look. Genos stepped forward and held out the bag to him, head still down, eyes glued to the pavement.
“I know the day is almost over but this is for you, Saitama-sensei.” Genos finally dared to look up and could feel the lights set beneath the skin of his cheeks beginning to light dimly. Saitama stared for a moment, having never seen such a look on his student’s face before. Was he blushing? Slowly he looked down at the bag in Genos’ still outreached hands. He took it from him and underneath the cyborg’s watchful eye he pulled out the box. It was pink, just like the bag, with red ribbon. There was a small tag that had neat writing on it. To: Sensei. From: /. Originally the cyborg had thought about giving it anonymously to his sensei so he had never written his name on it and instead drew a line.
Saitama unwrapped the ribbon, doing his best to be as delicate as possible since Genos was right there, watching him – most likely recording him too, he could guess. He let the ribbon fall back into the bag and lifted the lid on the box. His eyes widened, staring blankly at what sat inside. There were numerous tiny heart-shaped chocolates filling the entirety of the lined box. He looked up at Genos, not exactly sure what to say. “Happy Valentine’s Day sensei.” Genos gave such an innocent smile Saitama swore for a just a moment he felt like he was melting, like something was stirring in his chest. A goofy grin spread across his face and he popped one heart into his mouth. Saitama was further surprised to find that they were filled with caramel. The grin stayed stationary on his face as he popped another chocolate into his mouth and closed up the box, putting it back in the bag. He held the handles in his hand and turned.
“Come on Genos, let’s go home.” Genos smiled and followed after his sensei. He knew he wasn’t great with words but his sensei had accepted his chocolate. Which he hoped in turn meant he might even accept his feelings one day, but he knew not to raise his hopes too high. Saitama-sensei most likely didn’t even see him other than student, maybe not even that. But, Genos hoped that one day he’d have the courage to directly confess to him.
“I’ll get the sukiyaki started as soon as we’re back, sensei.” Genos smiled as they walked back to their apartment. This was good enough for him.

Chapter 2: White Day
Summary:
Saitama is on a mission to get Genos a worthy White Day gift that will reciprocate the gift he gave him on Valentine’s Day two to three fold.
Notes:
inspired by a very old talk with @ninotc hehehe
This is incredibly fluffy too with Saitama’s turn to be in utter turmoil, but it gets a little saucy at the end. Nothing explicit!
I also apologize for how late this is… gomen… ;;;;;;
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
There were reminders everywhere that White Day was coming. Large billboards, flashing signs, commercials galore. They really were everywhere and had started almost immediately after Valentine’s Day, all to remind men so they didn’t have any excuse on forgetting to get the women in their lives a gift that repaid their Valentine’s Day gift in two or three fold.
Or in Saitama’s case: to Genos.
Valentine’s Day had been surprising for him as he had never expected the hero to get him anything, though now that he looked back on it, it had been something Genos would do. It was unexpected, but at the same time Saitama shouldn’t have been so surprised. Genos had bought him countless things before. But that time had held so much weight. He still remembered Genos’ face with his cheeks a soft glowing pink, his happy tone, and the handmade, caramel-filled chocolates. Saitama was obligated to give Genos something in return, wasn’t he?
So here he was, the day before White Day, to find Genos a present. Honestly, he knew that Genos did not expect anything, and the thought made him frown as he browsed the candy aisle, eyebrows pulling together intensely. All the times Genos had bought him something…all Saitama did was say thanks. If he even did that. Did he even say ‘thank you’ to him on Valentine’s Day? He couldn’t remember if he did, but he almost fully doubted he had. His mind raced to all the gifts Genos had bought him in the time they’ve lived together. Had he even thanked Genos at all? At any time had he expressed gratitude towards his self-proclaimed disciple?
Saitama’s hand froze around the discounted bag of lollipops laying on the bottom shelf, eyes having mindlessly scanned automatically for discounted items.
No.
The word felt like a horrible train wreck into his mind that halted everything He dropped the bag back on the shelf and straightened up. He had been a straight up dick to Genos who was always doing whatever he could for his stupid bald self, albeit sometimes recklessly or a little too passionately in some odd way. He hadn’t shown any real appreciation for the little light in his life; for the way his emotions were coming back to him slowly; how upon the first time they met he already had a bloom of emotion.
Genos deserved more than cheap discounted lollipops. He knew Genos would’ve appreciated it and treated it like he actually got him something of worth; Genos always took anything he offhandedly gave to him too seriously, but Saitama would feel guilty. He needed to actually think of something worth getting for him. He got out his little coin purse to check how much cash he had on him. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to afford something not in the on sale and clearance aisles. His wallet would cry and he might have to keep an even bigger eye out on dirt cheap sales, but it would be worth it.
Seeing Genos’ face while he got a gift two to three fold of the one he had made for Saitama. Yeah… it’d be worth it.
So, Saitama wandered through the aisles of the large mall he had wandered into in order to look. He sighed, not finding anything particularly of interest. He hardly even knew where to start – other than the lollipops he had already ruled out. His eyes then landed on a small stand where a sign stood among a pile of items. ‘Want a cheap yet meaningful gift? Please see me!’ Well if that wasn’t some indicator for what he needed he wasn’t sure what was. Saitama wandered over, cape drifting behind him as he lazily walked. The stand was full of different colored boxes of varying sizes.
Saitama looked them over, picking up a pretty gold box that was also of the largest variety. A young woman who was manning the stand hovered nearby. There really wasn’t any sort of clear plastic to see into the box and with so many words plastered all over it, Saitama could only squint and tried to hold his patience to read what was contained inside.
“Candies…various chocolates…” He held the box pretty close to his face as he tried to make out the fine print.
“Excuse me, sir?” Saitama hardly registered the voice but his eyes drifted away from the box to the smiling woman beside him. The smile looked so force. “I can tell you a little bit about our product if you’re having a hard time deciding on what to get.”
“Um…” Well, he was having a difficult time trying to read the box and he wasn’t sure if it would be something Genos would even like.
“Any of our boxes are made with different items in mind. The gold box in your hand is our most popular and biggest box on hand. It’s perfect for the special person in your life.” Saitama nearly dropped the box then. “You are looking for a gift for tomorrow, aren’t you, sir? For White Day?”
“Ah, yeah I am.”
“I can ensure you that anybody you plan to give this box to will enjoy it. It has multiple gifts in it so even if one is unsatisfactory, the others will surely please them.” She smiled sweetly at him.
Damn this girl was great with her upsell skills. But, it was a pretty good deal. If there really was more than one thing inside, just like she said, then Saitama had that chance that if Genos didn’t like something in the box the rest would make up for it. Saitama stared at the box in his hand. It was pretty nice looking too. Which means expensive. He cringed as he spoke up. “How much?”
“It’s 2,500 Yen.” Yep, his little coin purse was weeping at him. “However,” He looked at her again. “There is a ten percent off sale going on today.” Of course most likely for all the men rushing to get last minute gifts. Saitama set the box down and fished out his wallet to give her the money. At least he had still saved money and wouldn’t feel so cheap with his gift. Sure who really knew what was in it, but it was probably a bunch of candies and chocolate in a big box, maybe a good portion of it was mostly space! But it looked nice, and it was on sale so, it wasn’t so bad. Saitama could afford it. “Would you like me to wrap this for you?”
“Yeah,” Saitama nodded after the exchange of money. Saitama pocketed his little coin purse and watched as the woman used a piece of glittery silver wrapping paper to wrap the box off and top it off with a black bow. Even nicely wrapped! He had to pat himself on the back for his choice. “Thanks.” He took the wrapped gift and nestled it into a grocery bag hanging in the crook of his elbow. It would hide the gift until he’d be able to hide it in some place at home. He had to find some way for Genos not to find it. Maybe behind his manga bookshelf? That was the one place Genos didn’t clean behind ever since he accidentally found some ecchi mangas stuffed behind it. Boy had that been a weird day.
Saitama headed out of the store and onto the busy sidewalk. He had given the excuse to Genos that he was going to patrol on his own so that he could look for a present and had ventured as far as A City to look for one. It had more options than the cities closest to Z City. As he began the rather long leisure walk back home he imagined what they might have for dinner.
When Saitama made it home Genos was in the living room, sitting at their small shared desk on the laptop they equally shared too. “Welcome back, sensei!” Genos immediately swiveled around in his chair to greet him. He kicked off his boots rather lazily in the hallway and nodded.
“I’m home.” He side stepped into the kitchen and put away the groceries. When he was left with the box as the sole item in the bag he glanced through the window. It would’ve been better if Genos had been in the kitchen instead of the living room, but he could see the cyborg putting things away. Sure enough he had shut down the laptop, turned on the news and made his way to the kitchen. Saitama made sure to hide the bag behind him, thankful that he had a cape so that it was easy to hide.
“I will start on dinner if you are hungry.” Saitama zoomed past Genos as soon as he made to step into the kitchen. He did not want to give Genos the slightest chance to even know the item existed. So. using his unmatched speed, he hid the box expertly behind the manga shelf and stripped of his hero suit into sweatpants and his OPPAI hoodie. Genos was winded by his sensors suddenly going off of something fast before it disappeared in an instant. In one blink he was alone in the kitchen. He poked his head out to quizzically look at his sensei but he was already plopping himself down by the table to watch the news.
“Sounds good.” Saitama threw up a hand, staring at the TV like his life depended on it, like it held some secret he needed to know. He had to appear as normal as possible, even if he was slightly nervous now with the big day the next day. Would Genos even like it? Truly like it?
“…” Genos stared at the back of Saitama’s head and examined his vital signs. That had been very odd, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary with his sensei. “I will get started then.” He spoke, though he lingered for a moment before he entered the kitchen again. Regardless of the suspicious behavior, if his sensei was hungry he’d begin dinner right away.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saitama nervously sat across from Genos at their table, legs crossed, lightly shaking his foot which showcased his nerves, and one hand slowly pushed the glittery silver box towards him. Genos sat seiza across from him, and those damn pretty eyes stared holes into Saitama. Hand on the back of his neck, he pulled his other back to sit in the hole of his legs.
“Uhm… it’s White Day so I… got you something.” Saitama couldn’t believe he was actually sweating from nerves. His palms were even sweaty! He finally looked up at Genos, having averted his eyes the whole time he made Genos sit down and close his eyes so he could pull it from its hiding place.
“Sensei…” Genos spoke softly, looking down at the gift. It was wrapped nicely in a silver wrapping paper and a nice black bow. It reminded him of his metal body, just a little bit. He slowly raised his hands and reached out for the box. He brought it closer to him, playing with the edge of the wrapping that was so carefully taped. “Sensei, you did not need to get me anything for today.”
Genos knew what White Day was and had already brushed off the fact that Saitama wouldn’t do anything for him. Valentine’s Day had been special and he had wanted to do something, to try and convey his feelings, and whether it worked or not he had seen it as a victory. He had gotten the best smile from Saitama and that was all he needed. So, for him to give him something in return. Had he understood his feelings?
Saitama shook his head and pushed his other hand down between his legs to join the other. “No no! I had to…” He blinked as Genos looked up at him, realizing it might’ve sounded he felt obligated to. Well yeah he had, but for a completely different reason other than Genos gave his pitiful self something on Valentine’s Day. “I-I mean I wanted to!” He could feel his face brighten into a dark flush, all the way to the tips of his ears and he quickly looked down at the present instead of Genos’ face. He knew without looking that Genos was scanning him, watching his heart elevate on his scanner probably.
Saitama knew he wasn’t a picture of calm right now.
“I wanted to get you something… to say thank you and all…” He spoke softly, foot shaking hard enough to vibrate the floor and threaten to put a groove into the hardwood like he was making a snow angel.
“Sensei…” Saitama could see Genos’ facial features out of his peripherals. Why was his soft and completely elated face making his heart beat faster? It was just a thank you gift! Genos was smiling as bright as the sun and he happily returned his attention back to the gift. “Thank you, Saitama-sensei. This is incredible.”
“S-Say that once you open it!” The foot he had been shaking shot out and jabbed Genos’ knee lightly to get him to move faster. Genos laughed and Saitama was happy for that even if he was so nervous and flustered. At least Genos was happy with it even if he hadn’t even opened it. Was it that easy to get the usually stern cyborg to smile at him? He knew compliments flustered the cyborg so did gifts just bring the blinding smile to his lips every time? Maybe… he’d have to invest in more gifts. He just hoped Genos actually liked the contents of it.
Genos slowly undid the wrapping, carefully undoing the tape and moved the carefully wrapped paper out of the way. Saitama slowly turned his head up to actually look at Genos and watched his expression eagerly. Genos’ face was the sun right now.
He really was the light in his life; and Saitama found himself breathless.
Genos’ face contorted between every happy emotion known to man and with the most innocent smile he lifted the gold box up from the wrapping. Gently he set the wrapping aside and then looked at the box, scanning it. “Sensei this is very pretty!” There was not a price tag listed so he couldn’t even guess how much Saitama had spent on it for him. Though, the thought his precious crush would’ve bought him something not on sale, had bought him something that was actually expensive, brought a swell of happiness to him. His sensei, who was so strict on sales and impulsive buys, might have thought he was worthy enough for a gift not on sale.
He could cry – and he was well on his way too with his eyes already watered a bit around the edges. “Thank you, sensei,” He began to open the box, careful so he didn’t dent it, and looked inside, beginning to pull out the tray that held all the items inside. He pulled out a small tray with chocolates, then another with candies; all of them wrapped up individually with sweet messages on it – maybe a little too romantic than Saitama meant but Genos would indulge his guilty wish for a moment. “I will cherish this fore—” Genos stopped, frozen in place, eyes glued to what lay left in the box.
Saitama who was smiling in happiness that Genos actually liked it, and pleased with the amount inside the box, faltered as Genos stopped mid-sentence. That hardly ever happened. “Genos?”
“Saitama-sensei.” Genos stated, bangs covered his eyes. “I believe you meant to give this to someone else.” He spoke, voice almost robotic sounding to Saitama. Saitama sat up, eyebrows knitted together.
“What?” He was confused. Did he not like it?
Genos finally looked up at Saitama, eyes burning a little harshly at him as his face was completely stone faced. Why was Genos looking at him like that when he had looked so happy a second ago? “Saitama-sensei, I believe you meant to give this to someone else.”
Saitama stared hard back at Genos, a little spiffed he was being so rude to him. “I got it for you, Genos. What’s wrong with it? You don’t like it?” Couldn’t he have at least faked he liked it for Saitama? He spent so much worrisome thoughts over it! He didn’t even get enough sleep last night cause he was worried it wouldn’t be received well!
“Sensei… did you even inquire or read what was inside the box?”
Saitama looked around, giving himself away. “A-Ah ye—well… kinda… it was too long and the lady said anybody would like it so…” Saitama picked at his toe and then looked up at him. “Is there something you hate in it?” He asked, and man did his voice sound small, but he was piqued at what made Genos go weird. Genos sighed softly and reached into the box.
“Saitama…” Genos hardly ever said his name without honorifics attached, so Saitama straightened immediately, brown eyes wide and face serious. Genos’ hand slowly pulled out the controversial item inside the box.
“Had you wanted me to wear these?” His core was whirring loudly in his chest as he revealed the content…
White lingerie.
A white, lacy, see-through thong with a bow that was meant to frame over or cover the butt.*
Saitama’s eyes widened and he practically screeched. Embarrassment was an understatement of what he felt right now. Shame? Humiliation? Mortification? A little arousal? His hands flailed as he did his best not to fall backwards to the floor and through it in shock, only allowed his body to lean back slightly.
Genos’ cheeks were alight with the lights beneath that mimicked a bright blush as he held the item up in the air. “I… do not mind if… Saitama wanted me to wear these.”
“I had no idea they were in there!” Saitama’s voice shot out over top of Genos’ and he scrambled up and over the table, snatching up the empty box. He squinted, box close to his face as he read the contents. Sure enough, in the middle of the list of different candies and chocolates, was a little italicized: ‘lingerie.’ “I-It really does come in it…” He spoke to himself in disbelief. “The woman didn’t say anything about something sexual in it!” He looked up at Genos. Fuck! Did he seem like a pervert now? And why was Genos still holding it up?
Genos looked up at Saitama through the golden strands of his bangs and then at the garment in his hand. “Would… sensei like me to try it on?” He thought it seemed fitting that they were white for White Day. “It’d be a waste for whatever you spent on this gift for me… and it is a gift, to me, I assume.”
“W-Well yeah it’s a gift to you but I—you – I didn’t know – I just –” Saitama couldn’t even form a coherent sentence and he felt his hands get clammy again, heart rate going up. His mouth went completely dry. His hands unclenched and clenched many times, one on his leg, one on the table. Finally,
“Yeah…” Why did he sound so breathless? Why was he agreeing to Genos putting it on? He did have a valid point though… he had spent a fuck ton of money on it, way more than he would ever spend on one item unless he needed it to stave off starvation. It would be a shame to let it go to waste
“Then,” Genos stood up with the panties in hand and walked to the bathroom. “I will be right back.” The door shut.
Saitama stared at the door and then down at the box sitting on the table and the trays of sweets. Had he really just given Genos a box that was clearly meant for couples? Yeah…he had, because he was a stupid idiot who didn’t take the time to read the labels or even ask the associate woman that was right fucking there what was inside the box. Maybe he should’ve stated he was buying it for a disciple, a friend, who had given him something on Valentine’s Day. Surely Genos had just did that as a friend, or felt the need to as his self-proclaimed disciple.
… Right?
“Saitama,” Had his name ever sounded so good in such a soft tone from Genos? “You can look now.” The bathroom door clicked open. Saitama raised his head, and his hands shut into tight fists. His eyes were wide as he took the sight in of Genos in his lingerie.
Maybe he had made a pretty damn good purchase…
Maybe… he was a little turned on too.
