Chapter Text
Of course, everyone knew that Brian Kinney was an Alpha - there were certain traits and behavioral patterns to secondary genders, which could indicate if somebody is an Alpha, Beta or Omega. In short, the school books teach:
- Alpha: socially dominant, physically built, short-tempered and a natural leader;
- Beta: have a mix of Alpha and Omega traits, but more balanced and mellow.
- Omega: submissive and gentle, calm and a peacemaker.
As in numerous other subjects, Justin learned that what the school teaches about “Secondary genders and sex ed” classes is very one sided and narrow minded.
According to the books, if a person is an Omega for example, he or she will be submissive all his/her life and in all aspects of their existence, which is complete bullshit if you ask him, because he himself might be an Omega, but he has his opinions and believes and is not afraid to express them when needed. Yes, he is submissive in certain situations, but not always and not when he doesn’t want to be. He is a person firstly and as a person can decide for himself how and when to behave in a certain way.. Even if sometimes biology and his secondary gender were urging him to submit and to cower under the pressure of an Alpha, he once swore to himself that he will be brave and will fight for himself, his beliefs and dreams.
Recently, there were numerous such occasions in his life, most of them in connection to his Alpha father - Craig, who was a “book example”, narrow minded Alpha and couldn’t accept something atypical, new, and different from the traditional view and understanding.
Firstly it was a shock to him that Justin did not presented as an Alpha, or at least a Beta - although Justin has never shown any typical ‘Alpha’ traits, Craig couldn’t believe that his firstborn child was an Omega…moreover his male child was an Omega… that was shameful and outrageous.
Justin was very little when he presented, maybe around 5 or 6 and he could not understand what was happening at the time, but he remembers all the screaming and fights between his parents when it happened. He remembers that his daddy suddenly stopped spending time with him, stopped smiling and playing with him, stopped calling him his ‘champion’ and even ‘his son’.
Afterwards, when Justin found out his love and talent regarding drawing, painting and art in general. His father threw a fit about how those were ‘girly’ silly hobbies and a real man should be interested in sports and business.
By the time Craig learned about his sexuality and finally couldn’t handle it anymore, he threw Justin out of the house. Luckily Justin was kinda immune to the pain and shame that such disapproval and hurtful words and curses would usually cause to a child and an Omega and he simply accepted his fate and his fathers hierarchy beliefs and understandings and decided to pack his bags and go live his life according to his views. It was hard to say goodbye to his mother and his little sister, but he simply didn’t have a choice.
That’s how Justin found his way to Liberty Avenue and met him - Brian Kinney… the Alpha with capital ‘A’ according to all gay men in Pittsburgh.
Justin remembers that his first thought was that he had met a real ‘God’ - the man was not just handsome, he was freaking perfect… There was nothing, absolutely nothing about his appearance that was simply ‘ok’ or even ‘not the best’....Nooo, everything about him was perfect. He was tall, had a lean but muscular body, which was dressed to perfection. His hair was dark and silky looking, his eyes were the most perfect color and his lips were like a sin - Justin longed to draw him immediately - to capture him forever in case that he isn’t real, because how can something so perfect be real,right?
And Yes,as it turned out, Justin was right - this ‘God’ was not real, because ‘the perfect man’ simply does not exist - it can never be real…and Brian Kinney was the proof of that.
Yes, he was visually perfect, but his personality proved that he was simply a man, an Alpha, just like every other Alpha out then…maybe even worse. He was very short-tempered, very rude, impudent and shameless about his actions and behavior. He was the personification of a real ‘Alpha’ and his motto in life was: ‘Who gives a fuck what you think, you are lucky to have ME’...and that’s how he operated on a daily basis.
Chasing his prey ( be it in his business or in Babylon) like a real predator, using it for his gain and then when he’s done, just tossing it aside… like a lion who will hunt the poor gazelle, kill it and then just toss it aside…not even eat it…just because he was the predator and it was in his blood, in his instincts.
Justin hated him and loved him at the same time… he wanted to be with him, and at the same time wanted to turn around and just run…run, and never turn around…
