Ambition - driven by greed, the pursuit of knowledge, trapped in a maelstrom of despair, the search for purpose, the fight for hope or glory, the call of duty or the belief in fate. Runeterra is an ancient world where everyone can find something of their own. The great empire of Noxus, situated in the eastern part of the northern continent, was always a realm whose ambitions were many and insatiable. For nearly a hundred years, they gradually conquered the central lands of Valoran and seemed unstoppable. However, as the empire pushed further west and south, they met a worthy opponent in the kingdom of Demacia. Not only did the Demacians push the Noxians back from their own borders after three years of war, but within the next half century they liberated all the kingdoms that Noxus had conquered, and the Noxians retreated to the east of Valoran, where they became a shadow of their former size for decades. Soon, however, the Noxian drums of war will beat again, and with them, many new ambitions will collide. Few suspect, and even fewer know, that this could be the beginning of the end.
