Notes:

First of all, english is not my first language and also i haven't published/written a fanfic since 2021, so please don't pay attention to the mistakes and be nice with me.

This story is very imprecise about where happened, i would use USA terminology to the university but how in my country the university system is very different i were very ambiguous with that too, just so you know

It is supposed to be less than 20k words and I ended up vomiting all these words without being able to stop myself just for the first chapter, so who knows how this is going to end. I also abuse the use of parentheses and italics, as always.

the title is from drink it by the boyz. I will add tags as I post the next chapters.

please enjoy my work

Chapter 1: hunger

Chapter Text

Chanhee is odd. He stood out.

Sunwoo realized it the very first day he saw him. Chanhee has cute pink hair now that underlines on a crowd, his skin is even bloodless that any that Sunwoo have ever seen. He even has sharp-edged teeth.

But in addition to that, Chanhee was fine-looking .

Sort of uncannily, breathtaking, gorgeous . He was the most beautiful boy on the campus.

He was so splendid that he was known around the campus, not for being sociable –in fact, Sunwoo doubts he's ever seen him with anyone other than Changmin, his roomie. Actually, Sunwoo almost never saw him, even if they had friends in common and somehow they had managed to create a friendship mainly supported by criticism and other friends.

The thing is, Chanhee was known for his looks but also for the mysterious aura around his life in general. As opposed to most college students, Chanhee takes night schedule classes, according to Juyeon, because he “works better at night” (it isn’t like Sunwoo asked about, just came up in the conversation).

Chanhee didn't go out to many parties either, but when he was there, always was on the corner with a lifeless gaze in his eyes, with the same cup during the whole night just staring, at some moments he would be talking to Juyeon or Changmin.

But those things did not matter to Sunwoo, what did matter, the things that he can not help himself to think of is a series of things that made Chanhee more mysterious and odd.

The first thing was actually quite dumb, Sunwoo did not even think of it at the time.

It was summer vacation, no class, just a deadly heat on campus. Chanhee, Juyeon, Jaehyun, Eric and Sunwoo himself hadn't gone home.

The heat was unbearable, so Jaehyun suggested a fast trip to a water park, near the ocean that Sunwoo never heard of. Just a couple of hours after they were already at their destination, but Chanhee seemed to be bothered, almost jittery. He never approaches the pool, covered in what appears to be sunscreen spf 70, under a black out parasol until the night when they come back to the campus.

At the time, he didn’t know Chanhee very much, he thought that maybe he was uncomfortable with them. Or maybe, he had sensitive skin, or was afraid of swimming.

He let it go, although doubtless, the image of a Chanhee sitting alone under the shadow for hours while he was getting fun with his friends gave him a strange feeling on the chest.

Another thing that happened more recently was on Chanhee’s birthday, a surprise party was prepared at Chanhee and Changmin’s flat while the last one mentioned distracted him outside the dorm.

Sunwoo, Juyeon y Jaehyun came first as the main organizers of the event (no Sunwoo, he was dragged by Jaehyun).

When he opened up the fridge to keep the drink and found that it was almost empathy, curiosity got the better of him and ended sniffing around the other shelves. Catch by surprise the lack of  food on them. Although Sunwoo himself as a student was no stranger to being short of food at the end of the month. But there was very little food, very few to two students at his 20’s. Any couple of young adults could not survive with this little food. Maybe just one of them could.

He chose to think that merely Changmin took into account the party and made sure to empty the fridge so that other guests, drunk and drugged, couldn't steal the food. Possibly it was that moment of the week where you have to refill.

And yes, that was weird but not extremely odd to stand out until months later that Sunwoo really understood everything.

The real strange thing that happened was when Sunwoo was playing around with Eric, they were being rough among them, fighting as a joke, during what was a cheerful afternoon with all his friends, even Changmin was there.

Chanhee was sitting not far away from them, a couple of feets, looking incurious how Eric kept Sunwoo’s head on an uncomfortable (and strong) chokehold.

Little does Sunwoo know how the events happened next, but a bad move on a desperate try to escape from Eric's grip made him slide, loses balance and Eric ends up setting him free on the worst moment.

Sunwoo does know the prominent pain on his nose, he also does know the sense of liquid getting out from his nose to his lips when he stands up with some help.

He was way too concentrated on the pain in his face, trying to grab the paper napkin that a sorry eric was using to clean his face, repeating “i’m so sorry hyung, it wasn't my intention”.

Only when he caught the napkin off Eric's hand did he see it.

All Chanhee's attention was on him .

No.

No him , his nose.

Which to be fair isn't odd itself if it weren't for his usually dark eyes now a vibrating red , Sunwoo could swear that he is drooling in his place, mesmerized by the red fluid coming out of his body.

It's just a second and the next one the red is gone, the starving gaze faded and is replaced for a bewildered and anxious one, at best. Chanhee gives an unstable excuse and runs as far away and quickly as possible.

Nobody seems to notice the red and hungry gaze that Sunwoo saw, he wants to believe it was a hallucination as a result of the hit on his head. Maybe he just thought he saw something that never happened.

None of this would genuinely matter (except the last one, Sunwoo still thinking of the red before going to bed) if it weren't for the fact that during the last three weeks, despite sharing a group of friends, he hasn't seen chanhee even once .

Chanhee could live as a recluse, but he wouldn't disappear out of nowhere without explaining himself.

So Sunwoo catch Changmin on the library by coincidence a thursday and ask him what the fuck was happening to Chanhee, because he was starting to get nervous with his absence.

Changmin put on a conflicted face that Sunwoo can not understand altogether.

“He 's… sick”

“Has the flu or something like that?”

“Yeah, something like that …” Now changmin doesn't even look at his face, which is honestly a little offensive.

Sunwoo was not happy with that lame ass answer but Changmin didn't say anything so he took the book he needed and went back to his own dorm.

Chanhee didn't get sick ever since Sunwoo knew him, people say there's a first time for everything but this first time was frustrating. He misses Chanhee.

Misses his laugh at his bad jokes, his sarcasm and his dead stare.

So yeah, sue him for being used to a boy who’s not even a close friend.

There is no reason for him to be this pining about it, It's only been a few weeks yet feels like a decade.

Has a big pout on his lips when open the doom’s door and comes across Jaehyun and Juyeon watching a movie. It would be nice if they were actually watching the movie and not kissing each other as it was their last day on the earth.

“Please have some respect with my eyes” Sunwoo closes the door, with his back facing them still can hear Jaehyun laughing.

“I thought you were going to study at the library” Juyeon had mercy on him, holding space for their mouths.

“Yeah, well, i changed my mind” collapsing on the sofa, as far as possible from Jaehyun and Juyeon were kissing.

The couple exchange a loaded glance in silence.

“Well” the older starts “what the fuck happen on the library and why look like someone give you the worst news of the month”

Sunwoo sighs, not knowing exactly how to start, he isn't even sure of wanting to talk about it.

The situation was complex to him. He misses Chanhee, even if everyone thinks that they simply don't get along because of how little they speak alone. Sunwoo loved Chanhee's quiet presence and his battler personality. It gives him energy to encourage his jokes just so that dark eyes sparkle when he laughs.

But if Chanhee was really sick there was nothing more to do. He had already sent him messages that he didn't even look at (Sunwoo was slow to realize that Chanhee was not going to replied, looking his own text on delivered )

“I think that Chanhee is sick and I’m worried, that's all”

“Oh, if that's all then it's not a big deal” Jaehyun says, with a rascal smile.

Sunwoo looks at him as if a second head grows from his neck. it’s not a big deal ? Chanhee had been locked up for at least more that a week, sick, without going out, just the flu do not put a grown man into a fucking quarantine

“Well, I am worried either way” grumble crossing his arms.

He hates this feeling, hates not understanding what happened and hates even more that his stupid best friend dont care about it as much as him.

“You know? You can just go to his apartment, he is not going to be mad if you bring soup or something like that” as soon as Jaehyun says that the pleasant smile on Juyeon's face was erased.

“I don't think it is…” stutters, but it's already too late.

“You are totally right!”  Sunwoo leaves the sofa so fast that he almost falls.

In record time, he showers, changes his clothes and keeps a variety of instant soup and ramen in his backpack. He doesn’t know which one is Chanhee’s preference of food so just keep one of any kind (he also take a extra time styling carefully his hair to make it seem casually disheveled)

Before going out with his renewed spirit, Sunwoo catches Juyeon face expression covered with something illegible. He stops just for a moment.

Maybe Juyeon considers that it's a bad idea, maybe he is being  overwhelmed, it wouldn't be the first time that someone thinks that about him.

Maybe Juyeon had a better idea because he is closer to Chanhee, he had advice about the soup’s flavor.

“Is something wrong?”

“No… just be careful, the campus at night isn't safe” Juyeon says, his expression had not changed, seems to want to say something else but  cant decide if it's worth it, Jaehyun takes his chance to speak.

“Just go now, It’s already late”

The sun is slowly setting on the horizon and it will be completely dark soon.

“Of course, see ya!”

It takes fifteen minutes to arrive at Chanhee’s department outside the campus.

Although in reality it should take less than ten minutes, Sunwoo keeps getting distracted by his own reflection in the windows to check his appearance.

It also takes a few good minutes standing at the door of the building thinking what to say to Chanhee, how to show up, if he should just check that Chanhee is not dead and go back to his dorm or stay to take care of him.

(He is not going to admit it, but Sunwoo would love take care of him even if Chanhee would prefer to die first)

A girl opened the main door to him and Sunwoo offered to help her with his shop bags. It's just an excuse to get more time to think but the girl kindly rejects him, leaving Sunwoo no option other than to face the consequences of his decisions.

Uses the stairs, first because he has been skipping cardio this week at the gym, and also to be able to remember which one was Chanhee’s department.

Third floor, door 12B.

He knocks on the door but nothing happens. knocks again. He's starting to think that no one is home when Chanhee opens the door looking like he's one step away from death .

He was baggy-eyed, a somber energy around him, with dull and sick paleness skin, which is saying a lot because Chanhee is naturally pale as is. His hair, which is always healthy and shiny, looks the opposite: dry and dull as well.

Sunwoo has never seen Chanhee this ill. He feels his chest squeezing.

“What are you doing here, Sunwoo?” Chanhee says, even his voice sounded tired.

He doesn't seem to have enough strength to be standing on foot, holding on tightly to the door handle, leaning back in the door frame, looking at him with eyes halfway close, even though that seems to take too much effort.

“Changmin said to me that you were sick and I came to see you… i bring food too” point at his bag full of instant food. Chanhee studied him, thinking about his answer, without allowing him to enter yet.

“You should go” Chanhee started to close the door but Sunwoo stopped it, not happy with having to go this fast and knowing the condition he was leaving him in.

“Let me at least make some soup and I'll leave, I promise” negotiate was the last resource he had left. Chanhee was putting all his strength into closing the door, but he was clearly weak while Sunwoo had all the strength of a healthy man.

Chanhee sighed loudly “just one”

With the passage now free, Sunwoo could analyze the apartment; it was a very simple three-room apartment, although clearly larger than other university apartments can have.

Everything was sort of the same as the last time Sunwoo came, the entrance was right next to a modest kitchen connected to the living room, with only a coffee machine and some  kitchen utensils in sight.

There were a lot of books everywhere, more than last time, and lamps in almost every corner that gave a cozy and warm feeling, a homelike home.

On the couch in front of the TV there were blankets gathered around, lots of them. Chanhee had probably been lying there for a while and was clearly cold. There weren't many things hanging on the walls, some horror movie posters (likely of Changmin) and a bunch of post-its with schedules for work, exams or events, even the shopping list stuck on the wall.

There was so much nice furniture that Sunwoo was surprised that the apartment belongs to a couple of college students and not a real family.

The main table that separated the kitchen from the living room was covered in fabric; various dark colors, blues and blacks, lace and silk, in small scraps, in squares of different sizes, even a complete roll was rolled up and thrown on the floor. Pieces of paper with drafts of what looked like the same design done with different variations were all over the place– there are even a couple of half-dressed mannequins in one corner in what looks like Chanhee's drafts.

Seeing Chanhee hide again between a pile of sheets does weird things to his stomach, so he heads to the kitchen and heats up water to make some hot soup.

Just like during Chanhee's birthday, the kitchen is practically empty. He takes out all the soups and ramen from his backpack and picks one at random, adds water and heats it in the microwave, watches the empty pot spin all the time until the bell rings so he doesn't have to see Chanhee snoozing and wrapping up in his couch.

He carries the ramen to the couch and leaves it on the coffee table. Chanhee has his eyes closed and Sunwoo would almost believe he's asleep if it weren't for the way he's shaking.

“Here you go, it's Jajangmyeon, but I have more if you don't like it…” Sunwoo was already getting up to get another package when Chanhee interrupted him.

“jajangmyeon its fine, thank you” He sounds so exhausted

Sunwoo helped him sit in his place, grabbing his hands to help him get up.

Chanhee's hands were cold, almost frozen. How could his skin be so cold even though he was covered in three different blankets? He must be very ill.

“Do you have a fever? Sore throat?” Sunwoo sat down on the coffee table so he could look directly at Chanhee, who was sniffing the contents of the disposable container. He made a gesture of disgust when the noodles entered his mouth but he chewed it anyway without complaining.

“Only body aches” his voice was almost too soft to be able to hear it.

“Did you go to the doctor?”

“Not exactly…”

Sunwoo looked tiredly at the boy in front of him

“I don't want to be rude, but you look horrible, you should at least go to the doctor” Sunwoo earned an irritated look from Chanhee.

Leaving the ramen on the floor where it wouldn't get in the way, he directed all his attention to the brunette.

“Sunwoo, I appreciate that you're worried but it's really nothing serious, I'll be fine, go home, it's already nighttime”

Chanhee was right, from the window Sunwoo could see that the sun had completely set, it wasn't a fair reason for him to leave anyway.

“Where’s Changmin? What did he say about you not going to the doctor?” he asks.

Now that was an awkward expression on Chanhee’s face.

Being all rows knit forming wrinkles between them, lips twisted into a frown. Chanhee didn’t answer right away, just staring at Sunwoo.

“He's staying with a friend until I get better”

“Wait, is it contagious? You know what you have and you didn't go to the doctor?”  understood less and less.

“No, it's not. Seriously Sunwoo, go home”

“I’m not leaving until I know what’s going on with you, do you realize how weird all this is? You disappear for weeks, Changmin leaves the apartment, you’re cold as if you slept in your fridge, you say you didn’t go to the doctor but you know it’s not contagious” Sunwoo was starting to get angry walking around the couch trying to calm the new anger that haunts him, nothing made sense and he felt like an idiot for not understanding, but Chanhee’s expression was sad and sorrowful “I know you have your boundaries and if I’m overstepping them I understand, but I’m not leaving until I know you’re safe”

Chanhee sighs so deeply that Sunwoo momentarily thinks he's gathering the strength to say that he's actually overstepping his boundaries and should just leave right now , but in reality he just makes a small gesture for him to sit back down. Sunwoo does as he says, this time taking the place on the couch next to him.

“it's complicated..”

“I'll understand,” he hurries. Chanhee looks at him as if she doesn't believe a single word he says “I swear”

“Sunwoo I'm not joking, I don't expect you to understand what I'm going to tell you but you can't talk about it with others even if you don't believe me”

This was starting to get weirder and weirder.

“Just say it”

“Many years ago I was at a party, it was my senior year of high school and they organized it on a beach near a forest” Sunwoo has no idea what Chanhee is saying so he stays silent waiting to find out what this has to do with everything “With some friends we separated from the group and we went into the forest, we were very high and we were young and stupid, the thing is that it was dark and I got lost, I started to wander to get back to the beach but I didn't know where I was anymore”

Chanhee seems uncomfortable in his spot, shivering from the cold but not doing much to cover himself, Sunwoo covers him in a blanket and he smiles at him in gratitude.

“The thing is that out of nowhere I felt something throw me to the ground and a very strong pain in my neck, I completely passed out and woke up almost two days later when a group of rescuers found me, my family and friends had been looking for me”

“I don't get it Chanhee”

“I was attacked, I mean, a vampire attacked me”

Looking at his face, Chanhee had such a serious expression that Sunwoo couldn't help but laugh.

“If you don't want to tell me what you have because you're embarrassed or something, you don't have to make up a story about vampires, Chanhee,” he continued laughing, but Chanhee didn't even smile, on the contrary, he seemed annoyed.

“I'm not lying, I was bitten and I've been a vampire ever since.”

“Okay, vampire, and what does that have to do with anything?”

“I'm going through vampire puberty, my body is asking for human blood, I'm getting sick because I'm not giving it to it”

Sunwoo suddenly stopped laughing, noticing how serious Chanhee was.

“You're not lying?” Chanhee shook his head as a response. “I swear if it's a joke I'll be upset.”

“It's not!”

Sunwoo wasn't completely convinced, he still believed there was a secret chamber somewhere.

“Then, give me proof” He crossed his arms, not really believing him.

“Okay. In the book that says cryptozoological history, on the first page you will find my birth certificate from 1974 and a fake one that says I was born in 1998.”

Sunwoo scanned the library from his spot, the bookshelf in the corner of the room was full of old and forgotten looking books, he looked at Chanhee with doubt but he insisted with his gaze.

He supposes he has nothing to lose by trying.

The book was even older and more forgotten than all the others, the spine was torn and the name of the book could barely be read on it. But when he opened it to the first page, there they were, two birth certificates exactly the same, Choi Chanhee born on May 26th, with only the last digits of the year changed.

“We both know,” says Chanhee, who has lain down on the couch again, “that I wouldn’t spend more than ten dollars on a prank, and believe me when I say that falsifying a birth certificate is expensive.”

Sunwoo looks at him, Chanhee wouldn’t spend money on a prank, essentially one like that, it would take a lot of time and planning, but at the same time vampires ? That was from fairy tales.

“This is…” he wasn't sure what to say.

“I know it's weird but I can explain everything” Chanhee says, Sunwoo doesn't think he has the energy to explain all his doubts

“What's this about vampire puberty?”

“That's…, after thirty years of becoming a vampire, your body starts to demand human blood. Many vampires don't go through it because they drink human blood from the beginning. It shocked me a lot and I got used to eating animals and stuff like that so I never did it.”

“Puberty isn't at 12?” Chanhee looked at him like he was stupid, again.

“It's not even the same type of puberty and vampires age slower so our puberty is later too”

“Are you supposed to be 50?” Sunwoo slowly assimilated the information.

“Yes, when I turned thirty human years I falsified the record so that it would not be suspicious, since then I do it every ten years so it says that I am in my twenties”

“But… wait! How long have you been a college student!?”

“Almost half of my life, this is like my fourth degree already”

It was probably the strangest thing Sunwoo had ever heard, genuinely, it didn’t make sense, vampires? It would have been easier to believe that Chanhee had an evil twins trying to kill him.

But now, it all made more sense. Things he hadn't even noticed before were starting to show themselves in this new light. He'd never seen Chanhee eat anything other than barely seared meat. He'd never seen him sleep, not even when they had an all-night movie marathon. His reflexes were lightning fast, more than once catching things out of the air with barely a sign from them.

With this explanation everything makes sense.

“What's with the fangs? Vampires have fangs and yours look normal”

Chanhee, lying on the couch, looked at Sunwoo with a penetrating gaze, thinking, just analyzing Sunwoo's face, and he couldn't figure out if he had asked a question that was too stupid to earn this long scrutiny on his part.

“They are retractable, they come out at will or by force if I smell blood nearby” he kept looking at him as if he was expecting something from Sunwoo and he doesn't know what it is that he is expecting.

“That's... something cool actually” whatever he says seems to be the right thing because Chanhee's face lights up in a smile and he can almost see the sparkle reach his eyes.

“I guess it is” now Sunwoo can't stop smiling too.

The atmosphere settles and the comfortable bubble where they look at each other and smile fades away, Sunwoo wants to hold on to her with both arms so as not to let the panic invade Chanhee again but he can't do anything about it anymore.

Chanhee looks away to the other side of the room so as not to see Sunwoo's expression.

"You know, Changmin was cooking two days ago and he accidentally cut his finger" his voice has also become somber, hugging his knees and Sunwoo could cry because of how vulnerable the older one is "I smelled him from my room and I couldn't… control myself so I ask him to go to Jacob's apartment for a while"

“It doesn't matter …”

“I wanted to bite my best friend, the only human who knows the secret and I wanted to make him my lunch Sunwoo” he could hear the tears forming in his voice.

It was clearly a difficult moment for Chanhee, Sunwoo can’t imagine what it’s like to be afraid of what one is capable of.

“Did you talk to him?” He is certainly not much closer to Changmin than he is to Chanhee, but he knows him well enough to know that if Changmin was literally living with a vampire he knew that being bitten was a possibility.

Although in reality, Sunwoo doesn't know anything about vampires or living with vampires or being bitten by one.

“No, I told him to please stay with Eric for a few more days just to make sure, I haven't seen his messages since that day”

Chanhee is becoming smaller and smaller in his own place, Sunwoo does his best to be serious before asking what is really worrying.

“Chanhee, what is going to happen to you if you dont drink blood?”

“Basically, a lot of suffer and, maybe, death”

He fixed like whiplash. If Sunwoo was worried before, this does nothing to change that situation. Images of Chanhee suffering from pain to the point of a painful death invade his head, he tries to get rid of them before it’s too late but Chanhee has already noticed the change in his posture and probably even noticed how his breathing stopped for a second.

“No really, I mean, I’m not going to die die , I can’t technically die because my heart isn’t beating but I’m going to get really sick, I’m going to lose all my energy and so fast that soon I’ll barely be able to talk.”

“You’re not helping your cause” is the first thing that comes to mind and although Chanhee lets out a small laugh it doesn’t help to remove the new weight that extends over his shoulders.

The silence invades them, not comfortable but not uncomfortable either.

Sunwoo analyzes all the possibilities. No matter how many soups he brought, none of them is the one that Chanhee needs. He considers for a few long minutes robbing a blood bank for Chanhee but he knows that would be more complicated than he thinks it is.

Chanhee is falling asleep, the ramen getting cold next to the couch, Sunwoo could just scream in frustration.

There's nothing he can do, if before he felt helpless believing it was just a flu he doesn't know how to describe how he feels now that he knows it's a damn vampire puberty.

All the information about vampires and how his friend must feed on humans or get sick is simply filed away in his head, becoming small next to the information of the imminent possibility of death.

Literally starve to death.

It's a thought too short to be serious but then Sunwoo thinks about it again and it's not really that crazy.

“I have an idea, you're not going to like it though”

Chanhee looks at him with half-closed eyes, her breathing is slow and deep and he seems to be about to fall asleep again if Sunwoo doesn't speak quickly.

“You could just bite me”

Chanhee is very awake now, his answer is immediate. "No"

Sunwoo isn't even surprised by Chanhee's automatic response.

He actually understands it, he understands it perfectly so much that it hurts his heart to think of chanhee preferring to go through all this pain just to not hurt his friend. But he also understands that there really aren't many other opportunities for him.

This is probably the best option.

“Why not? It’s the best option, isn’t it? You bite me just for a little while so you stop suffering and you don’t have to risk biting some stranger or something”

“Better option…? Sunwoo, I understand that this is a joke for you, but in case you didn’t notice, I don't bite humans. I haven’t done it for thirty years and i’m not going to start now, much less with a friend”

Chanhee has that look on Sunwoo, fixed in his eyes, like a mother explaining to her son why he should behave well in public. If the situation were different Sunwoo would allow himself to feel more offended for being treated like a child but he had stopped seeing this as an elaborate joke.

“But…”

“Listen” Chanhee’s voice drops a few octaves, the change is minuscule but Sunwoo notices it: Chanhee is getting frustrated, simmering “I never bit anything that wasn’t a small animal, I have no idea how I would react to human blood. I could drain you dry if i wanted to, the only reason i didn’t automatically attack you when you walked through the door is because i’m too weak to move” A shiver runs down Sunwoo’s entire cervical spine, not exactly from fear “I’m not going to expose you to the possibility of hurting you”

They remain silent looking into each other's eyes, almost speaking through them, while Sunwoo's tries by all means to tell him that he should trust him, Chanhee’s screaming for him to forget about it.

But Sunwoo was never known for being able to forget about anything easily.

“I know you're scared Chanhee but we both know that you couldn't hurt a fly even if you wanted to.”

It's not what Chanhee wanted to hear, he can tell from the distressed expression he gives him. He probably expected Sunwoo to back off, to be scared of the risks and to simply forget everything and go back home.

But Sunwoo isn't willing to just leave Chanhee alone and suffering, no matter what impression those decisions leave on others, he will stick to them until the end of his days.

He really means what he said. He's known Chanhee for so long that he knows perfectly well that he's the most loving person, always aware of who needs his help, who's thirsty enough to offer to buy a drink, adjusting his friends' clothes, fixing lost hair strands. Chanhee always acted like he was beyond caring, acting upset when his friends tried to kiss or hug him but always watchful to their needs.

Sunwoo can name five different situations where Chanhee offered (or just did it without asking) to buy food when he noticed that one of his friends was sad about their last exam grade, helping everyone out during study periods –which now makes sense knowing that this isn't his first round at university.

But Chanhee has always been like that somehow, insecure of his actions, unsure of being vulnerable, almost weak-minded of anyone knowing that he would die for his friends.

Sunwoo's heart falls in his chest just thinking about how Chanhee, who sacrifices himself for his friends as if it were his duty in this life, feels uncomfortable that someone knows how much he feels.

How much he would let himself suffer to keep his friends safe. Even from himself.

How many secrets is he willing to keep for them? How many lies will he tell so as not to scare them? How much of himself will he hide for the comfort of his friends?

Sunwoo knows . He knows that Chanhee is honest and selfless. So he doesn't doubt him, he would put his hands in the fire for him because he knows that Chanhee would too.

Sunwoo would doubt anyone else. Kevin Moon from chemistry? He would definitely kill him. Younghoon? He wouldn't think twice about taking a whole liter of blood at his expense.

But Chanhee? He even finds himself so afraid of taking the equivalent of half a glass of his blood to the point of preferring to die of pain than trying.

Sunwoo doesn't know much about vampires, all his knowledge is reduced to this conversation. But he knows Chanhee.

He's pretty sure that having a human offering himself as a free meal would be heaven for more than one. And yet Chanhee is refusing as if he asked him to kill his own mother.

“We can make it work” he insists, the expression on Chanhee’s face shows that he’s about to kick him out of the apartment to leave him to die alone but Sunwoo is going to accept that “You can bite my hand or my arm or my ankle or some place like that so I can, you know, defend myself or something” he pauses for a moment, letting the idea sink in, he can see that Chanhee’s frown softens, considering the idea as something more than absolute stupidity “I can count a few seconds, long enough for you to give it a little taste and it won’t hurt so much and then i’ll just push you away from me, it might work”

It's an idea as hopeful as it is simple, very simple, but Chanhee doesn't refuse immediately and that makes him excited about it. He's already thinking and counting in his mind all the places on his body where Chanhee can bite him, which gives him room to hold him away if he gets out of control. And although the idea of having a thirsty Chanhee clinging to his skin generates a pressure in his pelvis, he does his best to rule out the thought before letting it settle.

Chanhee, still wrapped in his blankets, no longer looks at his face, concentrating with a finger between his teeth evaluating the idea. Sunwoo doesn't move, taking the situation with the delicacy it deserves, as if the slightest movement in his body would put the older man on alert and discards this solution leaving them in nothing again.

“I’m not sure you can push me away”

Now, Sunwoo is an athlete, he takes pride in his body and his strength. After all, Chanhee is in an, honestly, miserable position and Sunwoo is stronger than Chanhee thinks. But it’s still a logical argument, neither of them knows how much strength Chanhee can take once fed. It’s self-centered to believe himself stronger than a superhuman creature, so he doesn’t mention anything about it and steers the conversation elsewhere.

“Look, you can just use my hand” he points to his own left hand, the space between his thumb and forefinger specifically, and then just to prove the next point he moves his right hand “If you bite there I still have my dominant h and free to push you away if it gets out of hand or something”

Chanhee’s expression softens a little, calculating the possibilities of the arrangement. His eyebrows knit together but in his eyes Sunwoo can see there is a softness that was not there in their former rejection.

“There are rules”

Is all Chanhee says before kneeling on the couch facing Sunwoo, who cheers up at the statement.

He assumed beforehand that there were rules, nothing with Chanhee is easy and of course being a kind of voluntary lunch wouldn't be either, but Sunwoo didn't expect anything less from Chanhee, altruistic, disciplined and generous in excess.

"As many as you need" Sunwoo wants to make a point here, he will do this as long as Chanhee is in his total and absolute comfort, he won't put at risk this new fragile and dangerous agreement that they are building.

“If it hurts too much you automatically push me away. You won’t let me drink more than a few seconds. If you see that I don’t move away on my own you have to do everything possible to force me no matter what it is” Chanhee numbers while pointing at each point with a finger, the seriousness in his voice is absolute and Sunwoo considers that this is the most serious he has seen him in the day “If for whatever reason you feel dizzy, dazed or weird in general push me away”

“I think you are being negative right now. Maybe everything will turn out well”

“I'm dead serious Sunwoo, this isn’t a joke” but he is not, all the rules Chanhee lays out are bent and contorted in Sunwoo’s mind. What is enduring some pain for the sake of his friend? What is sacrificing a few extra milliliters of his blood to bring color back to Chanhee’s face? Sunwoo is willing to endure a little more than he should for a friend.

At the end of the day, both he and Chanhee would sacrifice themselves for the well-being of their friends.

Sunwoo wants to answer back, to say that he doesn't mind going through some pain for him, that he's used to training that stretches his muscles to unbearable points, that he's taken hits and beatings of all kinds. That he can bear it, that for him he'll bear it, even if those aren't the words he uses.

But before he can say anything about the demands of the rules, something, he doesn't know what, changes in the expression on his face. Something on Chanhee's hard gaze, on the determined expression around his eyebrows and his lips pressed tightly together as if he were trying hard to keep his teeth together so as not to tell Sunwoo to go to hell. Everything twists into a series of new expressions leading to eyes that scream for some mercy from Sunwoo.

His breathing gets stuck in his chest, his entire respiratory system stops responding and even his heart does something strange when he recognizes that expression. When he recognizes the total vulnerability that he shows and what's worse for Sunwoo, when he realizes that Chanhee's now showing a weakness that he never allowed others to see.

That he's the first to let himself be bitten by him, the first to feed chanhee in this way, the first to offer himself to him in this way. And that in fact, that layer of anger and defensiveness that he had shown until now was just that, just a covering of something more complex and fragile in him.

Chanhee is allowing himself to be weak for the first time in front of someone else.

Being that first puts Sunwoo's mind in another angle and now he sees Chanhee, defenseless, energetic and completely vulnerable trying to protect Sunwoo from himself, without any assurance that he can.

“Promise me that if it goes wrong you won’t be mad at me” there are tears forming in his eyes but Chanhee blinks and in a second Sunwoo thinks he imagined them “please, promise me that if I hurt you you won’t be mad at me”

Sunwoo is pretty sure he should be asking for something else. He should make him promise not to tell anyone, that it’s a secret he’ll take to his grave, that nothing they talked about this evening will ever come to light. But Chanhee is kneeling on an old couch in front of Sunwoo begging for his unconditional love as if he hasn’t had it for a long time.

As if Sunwoo hadn’t offered to be the first to begin with.

As if Sunwoo could ever feel anything other than a bag of soft feelings for him.

“I promise”

He breathes again as relief physically envelops Chanhee, who relaxes his shoulders and takes a deep breath. This is all he needs to throw himself into an abyss with the confidence that nothing bad will happen just because Sunwoo won’t hate him for this.

“Sure?”

“Very”

They should talk about this in more depth, there are things left unmentioned, blank spaces in the deal but they put it in the background when Sunwoo, without saying anything else, extends his left hand directly to Chanhee's face.

For him there is nothing to say, nothing to agree on. He would offer himself again and again for Chanhee. This discovery surprises him but penetrates his conscience like an immovable reality: the sky is blue, roses are red, Sunwoo offers himself to Chanhee as the first bite.

Chanhee stares at his hand for a few long seconds. Still kneeling, he approaches Sunwoo's space like a moth to a flame, as if it were the place he belongs. His knees lightly caress Sunwoo's thigh who stares at Chanhee's expression for any sign it shows.

Taking Sunwoo's palm with both hands he brings it to his mouth, staring intently at Sunwoo's lean, tanned skin between his own pale, slender fingers. There was a clear difference in size, his fingers couldn't hold the entire circumference of his wrist. Sunwoo was holding onto his sanity with all his strength just by the recognition of the differences in size.

It's a little ridiculous to obsess over a size difference that doesn't noticeably exist, but Sunwoo notices it and hasn't stopped noticing it a single day in his life.

They were both the same height, not even a centimeter apart, but Chanhee is much smaller in build while Sunwoo is built by muscles from years of training. The rational thought is to let the fact slide between them and just move on to something else, but today more than ever Sunwoo can see how Chanhee's knees are pressed together along with his own leg and notice how just one of Chanhee's thighs is almost twice as small as his own.

Sunwoo is not an idiot, he has known Chanhee for years and always knew about the size difference but never had the chance to think about it in depth until today.

Chanhee is really small, and it's driving him crazy because now he can imagine how he would fit between his thighs, how Chanhee could sit on his lap with total comfort, how Chanhee could, if he wanted, fit perfectly between his separated legs to please him.

If Sunwoo was braver he would make fun of himself for taking two years to notice such an obvious difference like this, but his brain hasn't worked at all since Chanhee took his hand in his. He can only hold his breath waiting for the other's next move.

At the moment he is contemplating, with one hand around his wrist and the other his fingers (again, Sunwoo has to force himself to think of something else and not how his fingers are longer than Chanhee's), admiring the space where he will bite the younger.

The space around him feels slower, the seconds are whole minutes and the night that has swallowed the apartment leaving them illuminated by few lamps shelters them in the intimacy they created just for the two of them.

They don't look at each other's faces as if the fact of sharing glances makes the intimacy more real.

Sunwoo is sure that once Chanhee takes courage and bites him, something is going to happen, he doesn't know exactly what or why, but something is going to change. A new limit will be established that he is not sure he can define, a line drawn in the sand that he cannot glimpse without being close to her.

Something new is brewing before it even begins.

It doesn't matter if this event doesn't become a predictable disaster, it doesn't matter if Chanhee loses control and consumes him, it doesn't matter if he risks ruining Sunwoo's life by making it perpetual. It doesn't matter if this becomes just an anecdote for years to come.

None of that will matter because Chanhee has already bared the weakest part of his life to someone who until a week ago he wouldn't have called anything more than a good friend.

Without biting him, they both know they've already taken the first step towards something new and permanent in the relationship. Chanhee can change his mind and force Sunwoo to leave and still there's something new between the two of them.

The realization pushes them to the edge of a cliff.

Sunwoo is too enchanted by Chanhee's face to fully realize it, breathing slowly as he watches Chanhee's eyes roam over his hand.

It takes him by surprise when Chanhee parts his lips and finds two long fangs that weren't there seconds before and red eyes to match. The fangs must measure about a centimeter and a half from the gum, slightly longer than Sunwoo imagined but sharper than he thought. A shiver runs down his spine looking at those teeth that will soon be buried in his skin.

Sunwoo thinks that Chanhee does this slower than necessary to prove to himself that he has control of his impulses, also part of him thinks that he does it so as not to take Sunwoo by surprise and scare him as a consequence.

Anyway, the bite doesn't hurt. Or not too much like Chanhee made it sound.

First he feels the edge of the fangs fondle his skin, almost like a shell, and then he slowly sees how Chanhee's fangs disappear into his flesh and how some blood begins to flow from it. The pain is more of a prick in the back of his hand, sharp and thin. Then he feels some drool on his hand dripping from between Chanhee's lips, generating a sigh that he didn't plan to let out.

He doesn't feel an intolerable pain, on the contrary, he only feels a slight pain in his hand and his wrist where Chanhee holds him tightly, digging the tips of his fingers into his skin to prevent him from moving as if Sunwoo had even thought about that possibility.

Chanhee had explained that he would become insatiable, that there was a chance of danger, but Sunwoo is totally relaxed about the events that have occurred. Almost as if this were a daily occurrence in his life, Sunwoo can see Chanhee's brow furrow into something that is clearly in the range of satisfaction.

You can say that Chanhee was starving because he swallowed his blood as if it were the latest water bottle in the desert. And he may feel so, because only seconds later Sunwoo notes that he no longer presses his arm in a deadly grip, even the strength of his jaw decreases but that does not make the most presentable situation.

On the contrary, the slight pressure in Sunwoo's stomach is deepened as an itching that cannot be reached when Chanhee begins to make satisfaction noises that seem uncontrollable to him. The drool that accumulated slowly in the back and palm of his hand is now practically running out of the lips as an infrequent impulse, accumulating by his entire hand and dripping on the Chanhee sleeping pants, as if he could not avoid dribbling for Sunwoo's blood.

The realization that, in fact, this is probably more exquisite than all the animals he has eaten for decades inflates the ego of Sunwoo and generates something indecipherable in his dick.

Knowing that this is his fault, it is for him and only he who makes Chanhee so full, so pleased. Hold his hand closer, as if it were possible to bring his hand more to his teeth. All because his blood seems to be succulent, but it is also to be aware that he is the first.

(There is a voice very similar to his own that shouts that he is also the only one who can ever see this Chanhee)

Only the perspective that Chanhee is enjoying so much of this makes Sunwoo proud to propose this idea.

He is not sure how many seconds have passed but Sunwoo is staring at the situation, the delighted expression of Chanhee, still clinging to his hand. He realizes that he probably spent more time stipulated when Chanhee lets out a groan of complete pleasure.

The sound that comes out of the other man is almost pornographic, Sunwoo feels the heat in his chest travels until he settles on his face for the knowledge of the complaced noises Chanhee makes. He feels ashamed but is even worse to know that Chanhee has no intention of sounding so desperate for this.

It is Sunwoo that is full of these new lecherous thoughts because of the small noises that Chanhee makes, thoughts that two weeks ago would not have occurred to him. And to worsen the situation, Chanhee is not even aware of how sinful it is seen, he does not know what these noises cause in Sunwoo’s body.

He is eating innocently and Sunwoo is there, sitting, fighting for impulses that he didn't know that he had until Chanhee stuck his tooth a minute ago.

Finding how to feel ashamed of enjoying this, he prepares to push Chanhee off his upper limb, leaning on his free hand in the crown of the vampire still deciding how to stop him, waiting for the worst.

But it was not necessary because he barely places his right hand on the head of Chanhee. He opens his eyes so big that Sunwoo is startled, he automatically departs from his hand, cleaning the slime and the blood remains of his chin.

Perceived as Chanhee is slightly blushed by it, with foreign blood in her teeth and chin. He is returning to all his mental faculties, and seems to recognize how he was acting until just, ashamed of it.

But Sunwoo is delighted with the scene, delighted with the image of Chanhee clearly satisfied thanks to him.

(Can't stop himself of thinking in what other way I could satisfy it if Chanhee left it)

There is an adrenaline rush directly from the understanding of it to his pelvis, if it were another situation it could be more embarrassing. But he does not even find the heat he feels inside his body with something other than what he really is.

"They were more than a few seconds," he scolds him. He frowns as if he were trying to get angry but the mask does not last long because Sunwoo can see his relaxed shoulders and relief in his gestures.

"You stopped for you alone," he says.

Sunwoo's instinct tells him, in one way or another, that this is not normal. Maybe it is because Chanhee continued talking about how painful it would be, that he could eat him up or even kill him but instead it was a peaceful and completely normal event between them. The surprise is installed in it as a habituality.

But Chanhee seems not to understand his actions, as if this is not supposed to happen and is actually a lie of hallucinations created by fatigue.

Maybe, considering Sunwoo in his own head, is because he did not know what to expect from himself and simply jumped to the worst conclusion as a fact.

"How do you feel?" Sunwoo asks.

Chanhee looks at his own hands where the blood lies, now drying, that the clean of his chin recently. Not with horror in his eyes but with a new meaning in them. Processing what happened, understanding that he had finally done what had been rejected for decades, just to bend in a matter of minutes just because Sunwoo offered.

Chanhee is falling down in a spiral as everything is catching his drift.

"... Well ... I think" is all he says, before holding Sunwoo's hand now looking at the wound, evaluating his depth "How is it? Did it hurt a lot? " The concern in his voice is palpable. Sunwoo gets tender for it. Again Chanhee, putting his friends ahead of his own needs.

"Not at all, it was like an injection, I could do it again right now," he replies without thinking, more like a joke than as a serious offer. He can see the Chanhee´s pupils dilate with interest and for a second one considers making the joke a reality.

Sunwoo is glad about the idea.

Chanhee releases her hand with suspicion, as if she didn't want to let him go. Lick his own lips savoring the blood stuck in them, savoring the aftertaste of accumulated blood in his gums and molars while Sunwoo contemplates fascinated with each movement of the older one.

"You should drink water and eat something to recover the blood you lost" Sunwoo opens his mouth to refuse, arguing that he has lost more blood when he went to donate last year but Chanhee gets up faster than he can react, almost running towards the kitchen.

Sunwoo observes him pass by directly to the kitchen with incredible speed for someone who recently could remain sitting. From his place on the sofa, he can see Chanhee preparing one of the many instant ramen options he had brought.

Slowly, he approaches him, and taking a place in a bar (which was full of bills, random pencils, and other things that did not have a specific place apparently) looks at Chanhee walking through his kitchen, tidying up the ramen, piled up now next to the microwave.

Recognize the act as a nervous tic of the boy, look for something to do with his hands, whatever he can distract from what makes him nervous.

"Chanhee" responds with an affirmative rumble to indicate that he listens to it but without turning to see him "What will happen now?"

It is a question with many layers deep, he realized late. And therefore there are many ways to respond.

Chanhee could say that now they will simply eat something, they will trivially chat about the exams that are coming and Sunwoo will go home. Or maybe Chanhee replies that he simply adds human blood to his diet. Even he could say that now he will never bite anyone again and will pretend that this does not happen, returning to normal.

(The last option is the worst for Sunwoo without knowing well because he wants Chanhee to bite him again, he feeds him whenever he needs it)

"I ... I'm not really sure" the microwave sounds and Chanhee stops talking to take care of food again. Once he checks the final product, he adds dressings and confronts Sunwoo to give it to him "It is the first time this happens, the first time I bite so I do not know that waiting from now on" lets out a nervous laughter because of the last thing he said.

Sunwoo mixes with the disposable sticks the food without looking Chanhee in the face. He doesn't know well because he can't see it, he somehow expects rejection. But in reality this is not a rejection, but it feels like one.

"You don't have something like, you know, a vampire friend or something like that to ask about it, by chance?" Sunwoo doesn't really know what he's talking about because until recently he didn't know that vampires existed and now he is proposing, what exactly? A reading Club style meeting for vampires that do not drink human blood? As if I knew something about all this.

Chanhee stares at him so much that Sunwoo is ashamed to propose something about how to handle the situation. He knows nothing about vampires only throws all the ideas that he makes waiting for them to make sense.

Chanhee's scrutiny makes him feel as if he were giving an oral exam and said the wrong thing for which the teacher looks at him with a confused expression in his face asking "Are you sure of that?" To see if you can correct yourself but in fact you can't.

"There are other vampires I could ask but you know we are not many of my sort and I'm not sure if ..." Sunwoo has to interrupt it now.

"Wait, there really are more vampires?, I was making up that"

Chanhee looks at him as if he were laughing at him for simply making up that as a solution and being right.

"Yes, but there are not many, you know, we live very hidden from society so we don't boast about that, it could be dangerous."

"Wait a second I have so many questions right now," he puts the ramen on the bar and leaves the sticks inside to fix all your attention on the older one, which has a small smile on your face that does not even try to hide "Are there more vampires? How many of them? Do I know any? " His expression of stupefaction should be really funny for Chanhee because now his smile ceases to be small to simply totally mocking “What is so funny? Who are you thinking? "

"Oh no, it is not my secret to say, you will discover it but without a doubt there are many more vampires than you think with which you have shared classes, parties, even training"

"that?! You are coming up with that right now "

“No, I'm not, it is true. Moreover, there are thousands of mythological creatures living around those that you simply do not know” Sunwoo supposes that he says it as a mockery not because it is true, but there is a thing in the expression of Chanhee that simply makes it credible.

"Don't try to fuck with me, seriously?" Chanhee nods still smiling “Like what? Witches and werewolves? "

“Yes, but there are also mermaids, ogres, elves, everything. We simply do not gloat to be practically monsters or would go after our head ”

"Wait, this is a lot of information" supports his fingerprints on the bridge of his nose as if all the information made his head hurt, listen to Chanhee laugh in the background for that.

His heart heats up when he listens. He wants to listen to Chanhee happy for his entire life.

He still has many questions when Chanhee ends the conversation.

"Stay to sleep, I don't want you to pass out in the street because of the lack of blood or something," Sunwoo is going to say that it is an exaggeration and that it was not so much blood but the words die in his mouth when he sees Chanhee lean on against the kitchen countertop, away from his sickly appearance of recently, looking almost angelic with a small smile adorning his face. "You can sleep in Changmin's room if you don't want the sofa, but don't touch his things or he is going to realize it and get angry with me"

Sunwoo sees him go to the hall where the rooms are found, but before disappearing in his, Chanhee turns and with all honesty he can gather says: "And thanks, Sunwoo, for doing this for me" He can't answer before seeing him practically run to hide.

Grabs his cell phone from his pocket and enters the Jaehyun chat.

From: sunwoo

hey, don't wait for me, ill spend the night here

c u tmrw

The answer does not take long.

From: Jaehyun

lol, do not do anything i would not do

get him, tiger ;)

Sunwoo blushes so much that he does not respond to the message, although that only confirms what Jaehyun is already assuming.

The next morning Sunwoo is already gone by the time Chanhee wakes up.

Although “wake up” is a misuse of the term as in reality Chanhee stayed up all night confined to his room catching up on college assignments, social media but mostly thinking about what just happened.

Part of him feels guilty for biting Sunwoo, taking advantage of him and taking advantage of their friendship to satisfy his own selfish desires.

But another part of him, a much bigger and stronger one, was screaming at him from the back of his brain to go back into the room and bite him again, on the arm, on the shoulder, on the neck, anywhere , but to taste that blood again.

that blood… Chanhee would talk about it for hours. He's not sure if it's his first impression of human blood in general, or if he's been feeding on rats and squirrels for so long that he wasn't ready for it. He even dares to think that it's simply Sunwoo's blood that tastes so exquisite.

Chanhee isn't sure why he is itching to taste it again, over and over again. Like a meal he can't get enough of, he feeds on Sunwoo until he can't take it anymore.

It's a thought that terrifies him, it's exactly the reason why he's never bitten a human before. The uncontrollable desire inside his stomach, running through his body, the need to get more.

That's why Chanhee locked his door when he heard Sunwoo leave for Changmin's room. He was afraid of not controlling his impulses.

He can't stop repeating the sequence in his head over and over again like an incomplete fantasy.

He remembers the faint smell of sweat and some cologne on Sunwoo's skin. Not perfume specifically, a smell that he had already smelled with him before. As if each person had a unique aroma, very soft and unrecognizable in general, he can only remember Sunwoo's, despite being aware of it that same night.

That smell of Sunwoo, of blood under his skin, of emotion coming out of every pore comes back to his head again and again like an obsession.

He also thinks about the altercation with Changmin days ago, when he asked him to leave for the good of both. He thinks that maybe it was an exaggeration to make him leave the apartment considering how controlled he acted with Sunwoo, but that only creates more doubts.

If he could control himself, why did he feel desire running through every corner of his body? Why did he feel like it was something stronger than him? If the next second he was moving away from Sunwoo's hand as soon as he felt the other's touch?

If he had more vampire friends to consult, if he could just ask, he would, although he has the feeling that the answer is almost as ridiculous as the question.

He decides to live with the doubt, for now.

So when it's 10am he leaves his room with anxiety running through his mind, making up and thinking about how the morning with Sunwoo is going to go.

He can't just find him in the hallway and say <<how did you rest, I didn't, in fact, can I drink your blood again? I just can't stop thinking about it>> as if nothing happened.

Luckily for him, it doesn't happen, instead he finds his apartment empty and an unread message from Sunwoo.

from: sunwoo k

i have gym and classes so i left early

tell me if you need some help again

Chanhee starts to consider seeking psychiatric help.

He doesn't, instead he pretends like nothing happened. He texts Changmin saying he can go back to the apartment, that everything is fine and that he'll explain better when he gets back. He tidies and cleans the apartment, he also does some shopping for the month since there is really only a lot of instant ramen courtesy of Sunwoo.

Then when he really has nothing else to do (he's finished the projects for the next week and a half, cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom, his room and other common rooms, washed dirty clothes, even tidied up the closet) his hands still itch from anxiety and nerves.

When Changmin gets home, Chanhee tells him almost everything.

He avoids going into detail about how he feels uncontrollable, like his chest is simmering in the pit of his stomach and he can't turn it off.

But he does talk about the feeling of guilt, this new layer of vulnerability that he hadn't allowed anyone to see besides Changmin. The nerves of this secret that he has been hiding almost his whole life and that only privileged people have known, is now known by someone else.

Changmin doesn't judge or criticize him, unlike what Chanhee thought, he even seems excited at the prospect of the new dynamic blossoming, but he doesn't say anything and Chanhee doesn't ask.

He doesn't know if he's ready to hear whatever Changmin would have said if he asked.

For at least five days straight, life goes on.

Chanhee is too busy with reading material, projects, and other tasks to sit around thinking about what he's going to do when the energy and strength that Sunwoo's blood gave him runs out.

At least for now it doesn't happen, although he feels slightly more tired than the first day, he is certainly far from being the bag of flesh and blood that he was the day of the incident, named thus by Chanhee just to not give more importance to the bite.

(That doesn't work)

He looks normal, a little tired, but it could be the effect of the homework and future exams he is getting ready for.

On top of that, I've been studiously ignoring Sunwoo, planning side events to any activity where they'll cross paths, canceling plans where he knows Sunwoo will be in order to not to see him, taking different routes so as not to coincide.

He disguises everything with casualness, he's careful not to cancel all of his friends' plans and he doesn't always take the escape route so as not to raise suspicions and he thinks he's been doing well, he even answers Sunwoo's messages although never quickly enough to make it seem like he saw them at the time, even if he did.

( from:sunwoo k

how r u feeling?

from:cch

fine, busy with all the classes

what about u?

from:sunwoo k

same)

Sunwoo never drags on the conversation and Chanhee appreciates it even though he sees the three dots appear and disappear again and again but never turning into a new message. He tries to ignore the disappointed feeling.

Chanhee has been careful until suddenly he isn't.

It was Monday, he was going to an afternoon class, the only one on his schedule at that time, when he was notified that the class had been canceled due to a last-minute professor’s medical emergency.

So without much else to do Chanhee turns around and heads back to his apartment.

He doesn't go more than 16 feet when he sees Sunwoo, who was already staring at him, walk straight towards him.

He hadn't planned that Sunwoo could take this road but nevertheless he is wearing sportswear and carrying a sports bag on his shoulder and remember, Sunwoo is part of the soccer team that has its field past the northern buildings. They had never crossed roads before because Chanhee is usually in class by this time.

He has nowhere to escape and Sunwoo, without any idea of the emotional outburst growing in Chanhee, waves with his hand giving a bright smile.

“Chanhee! Hey, I haven't seen you in a while” Sunwoo says.

If he were a stronger man, Chanhee would look Sunwoo in the face, smile, answer casually and continue on his way. But Chanhee is definitely not a strong man so he looks uncomfortably in any direction except Sunwoo for an escape.

Being a vampire in many ways is an advantage: super strength, speed, not needing to spend money on human food and being able to sometimes sense people's emotions with his sense of smell. Skills developed for hunting his food, but now Chanhee hates being able to sense Sunwoo's discomfort even if he's not looking at him.

“Hey, what’s up? Everything’s cool, everything’s great…” he answers in a poor attempt to sound calm, then long, silent seconds follow where Chanhee looks at his shoes as if he’s actually interested in them while Sunwoo searches his gaze.

He is maybe being unnecessarily rude. He doesn't know what else to do besides not looking at Sunwoo. Thank god or whatever divine entity, Sunwoo seems determined to get to the point and not create awkward small talk that Chanhee doesn't feel like participating in.

“You know, I was just passing by but I was actually going to talk to you, I wanted to know if you were feeling okay and all that, with you know, hunger… ” he says the last part in a voice so low that the sound of the wind through the trees could have completely drowned it out, but Chanhee hears him and boy does he hear him.

Chanhee could die in that instant from the series of emotions he goes through in just seconds.

First the surprise, they had made it clear that this was a secret so he is surprised that Sunwoo mentions it so easily in public (even though there is no one with them, in fact they are practically alone except for a girl who is reading under a tree too far away to be able to hear).

Then he goes through a moment of anger, how dare Sunwoo believe that he is so weak that he can't spend even four days without wanting his blood– and automatically comes the shame because he is so weak that he can't stop thinking about his blood.

It's like he bit into the forbidden fruit and was now addicted. Thinking about Sunwoo all the time, about biting him, he fantasizes about it so often that just remembering it makes him visibly tremble.

He can’t answer Sunwoo’s question, if it was even a question to begin with, just the mention of blood has put his senses on alert. He’s sweating on his palms and he can feel himself getting hot inside at the thought of admitting that yes, I'm not hungry but I could bite you right now if you’d let me.

Sunwoo seems to take his silence as a negative and Chanhee watches as he turns a few shades redder than normal and begins to explain himself again “because I just think it would be good for us, I mean for you, some kind of frequency if you need blood regularly, though I don't know anything about this I just wanted to let you know that I'm available if you need it”

It's so cute and stupid that Chanhee wants to mourn.

Chanhee knows that Sunwoo isn't the type of person to get nervous. He doesn't think he's ever seen him nervous before in his life except for moments before an exam and even then it's just a layer of nervousness hidden under a lot of layers of confidence.

And now he's seeing him blushing with red ears.

It's a new way to get to know Sunwoo and I think Chanhee loves him.

“I’m not really hungry, it’s hard to explain” Chanhee is sure he’s not making himself clear at all “I don’t have the desperate desire to eat actually it’s more like I have an appetite for a frosted cake while on a diet, it’s that kind of feeling”

He's realized that in reality, in the past few days he hasn't had a genuine hunger, it's really like a whim buried in his mind that he only remembers when Sunwoo is in his mind. He still doesn't know if it's the effect of the blood or Sunwoo on him.

“Oh, that’s great…” Chanhee swears he hears disappointment in Sunwoo’s voice.

“But the idea of you know a regular frequency might work when he starts getting hungrier, maybe it’s only been a short time.”

It's a shitty excuse. Chanhee hasn't been hungry since he bit Sunwoo, he's started to believe that he'll never be hungry again, and don't get him wrong, it's a relief that it's that way and he doesn't have to bite his friends to survive but he really doesn't know if a regular frequency would help or make the whole situation worse.

“Awesome, I have to go to practice right now or Sangyeon will kill me but I will send you a message in the next few days to go over the details and stuff”

Sunwoo doesn't say goodbye, he just walks backwards in the direction he's heading while talking to Chanhee and when he finishes he simply turns around and starts jogging.

Chanhee watches the other's back grow smaller and smaller as he walks away.

He thinks all the way to the apartment about Sunwoo's bright smile when he sees him.

Still, he somehow feels like he signed a fraudulent contract.

Chapter 2: dinner & diatribes

Summary:

“I came later and stayed in the corner, I didn’t really feel like coming, it was a last minute decision” says Chanhee.

“What made you change your mind?” he asks.

Chanhee directs his gaze directly at his face, for a moment Sunwoo thinks he’s analyzing him but realizes that he’s actually looking at him thinking about answering.

“The food” says Chanhee.

Chapter Text

It's Saturday.

Sunwoo isn't a big party animal like the world likes to believe. He's an average party animal.

He's in his twenties, away from home, with no need of permission to leave, no return limit time, so yeah, sue him for enjoying college parties.

This is the last party before he has to sit his ass in the chair and study for exams, so why not? He hasn't gone out in a while.

Besides Saturday, today is the tenth day since Chanhee bit him. No, he's not keeping count.

The scar on his hand that was a little red and noticeable the first day that he hid with elastic bands (similar to the ones idols use to cover tattoos on TV) today are slightly pink marks.

But today he's not thinking about Chanhee, or his teeth, or how the vampire just completely ignored his recommendation to make the bite a regular thing.

He's also not going to think about how for the last week he's been masturbating to the memory of being bitten.

Well, masturbating is a big word.

He hasn't masturbated just with the thought of Chanhee connected to his neck sucking his blood, but it has been the beginning of the fantasies that lead him to have to lock himself in the shower for a longer time than planned. How those fantasies continue from there is only between him and God.

Since that day things have changed severely for Sunwoo, not only because of this new desire to be his friend's food bag, but also because of the new things he hasn't stopped noticing.

Sunwoo finds himself staring at other people's teeth more than once, especially those who approach with the intention of getting closer, those that Sunwoo might have previously simply flirted with again, looking for more.

Probably many of them think that Sunwoo must be looking at their lips but in fact Sunwoo is comparing the length of the fangs with the memory of Chanhee's. Disappointed to notice that the fangs of these beautiful, attractive and willing women and men are no comparison to his friend's.

Sunwoo has also discovered that he actually has a type.

This is no merit of his own. In fact he never thought he had a type of guy, he just found someone attractive and if everything flowed they either worked out or not.

Sunwoo is sprawled out on his bed looking at a poor quality renovation program on his laptop when Jaehyun arrives with Juyeon and dinner. At first they are just silent until they eventually end up discussing the gossip circulating on campus.

It turns out that Byun Baekhyun, an architecture senior (who Sunwoo doesn't share any classes with except maybe integrated calculus where Baekhyun was a teaching assistant for a semester for extra credit), had a boyfriend –whose name Sunwoo doesn't even know, for at least two years when he found him sleeping with a supposedly freshman girl.

It starts off with an innocent comment.

“Can you imagine cheating on Baekhyun of all people? He’s so hot” Sunwoo says.

“He’s totally your type” says Juyeon who is cuddled up against Jaehyun in the most awkward position ever.

“I don’t have a type” Sunwoo says, not taking his eyes off the screen of his laptop where Jonathan Scott is knocking down a wall and finding a structural problem that will cost more than the planned budget.

“Yeah you do, you like you know, small men who are a little bossy” Jaehyun says, still finishing swallowing the rest of the instant ramen.

Maybe Sunwoo has a guy type, he just never considered it but he has decided to stick to his idea of i-do-not-have-a-guy-type so now he will have to fight to not agree with Jaehyun.

“That’s not true”

“Yeah, it is ” Jaehyun says, this time without his mouth full of food “You like guys shorter than you, pale and who seem to hate you a little” Jaehyun says, Sunwoo opens his mouth but he continues “Do you remember that senior from a while ago? Jihoon? At first I thought he wanted to kill you. And you’ve also been circling Chanhee for a while now”

And, well. Well.

Sunwoo has a type, a clear and specific one that he wasn’t aware of but apparently it was so obvious that even his friends knew he had this thing for Chanhee that he himself found out about less than a week ago.

Of course Sunwoo just found out that he actually has a thing for Chanhee four days ago when he kept thinking about him before going to sleep.

Even so, he didn't expect Jaehyun to know.

Hopefully Jaehyun is just a creepy guy who can read his head thanks to all this time being roommates and not because of something else, like having hooked up with Chanhee long before the vampire thing and not realizing it.

Sunwoo doesn’t respond knowing that anything he says will just sink him further. He makes a sound that is meant to be a laugh but it comes out fake and unsure and he ends the conversation.

Jaehyun doesn’t say anything about the topic, too distracted finishing the bottom of his bowl of ramen as if to mock Sunwoo and his lack of self-awareness.

Sadly Jaehyun didn’t forget the topic at all because Sunwoo is fresh out of the shower in just a pair of boxers, a towel around his waist and another drying his hair when Jaehyun walks into his room with makeup in hand and declares: “You’re putting on makeup for the party today.”

Sunwoo isn't a big fan of makeup, mainly because it requires delicate work to keep pencils and eyeshadow brushes close to his face and not end up looking like you offered to be done by your six-year-old niece. Sunwoo has a lot of respect for those who wear makeup on a daily basis, he just doesn't have the fine motor skills to do it properly .

But he has worn makeup before, when Jaehyun does some eyeliner or some basic makeup for a particular party or event.

He looks at Jaehyun who has some brushes in one hand, several palettes and eyeliners in the other, held against his chest and decides not to resist his destiny.

Putting on a basic black t-shirt that she had laid out before showering and a pair of multi-used shorts that she forgot on the floor. Takes his place on the bed and waits for Jaehyun to do whatever he wants to do.

Once he gave him specifications and Jaehyun just completely ignored him (according to him it's because what he asked for was super lame ), he's decided which battles are worth fighting. This isn't one of them.

Jaehyun is giving him a smoky eye even if Sunwoo doesn't quite know what it is, only according to Jaehyun he's going to be hot once it's done. He continues to blabber about random stuff that Sunwoo isn't listening to at all.

“...And then an elephant fell from the sky and crushed Juyeon…” Jaehyun says

“Wait what?”

“I knew you weren’t listening!” Jaehyun's voice is full of offense.

Sunwoo pouts, Jaehyun wasn't even saying anything interesting that requires his attention.

“You weren't saying anything important.”

“I was just about to tell you that Chanhee is going,” the smug smile on Jaehyun’s face proves that he knows that this is interesting to Sunwoo. He has the impulse to ignore the comment, because it doesn’t really have to matter to him, but his gestures betray him and Jaehyun reads it like a book. “Changmin told me, well, actually he said that Chanhee was having a crisis because he didn’t know what to wear, but it’s pretty close to confirmation.”

Sunwoo can swear that Chanhee has more clothes than anyone on campus considering he's been shopping for trendy clothes for at least thirty years and is a fashion major. Chanhee is likely to have a heart attack if he finds out that Sunwoo only has three pairs of pants that he rotates throughout the week.

He doesn't know what to do with the information, he hasn't seen Chanhee since he ran into him by chance the other day and they haven't even exchanged messages since.

He hadn’t thought about the possibility of coming across Chanhee at the party but now that he knows it’s going to happen there’s a knot forming in his stomach that’s akin to anxiety, nerves and a third, more lustful thing.

“Cool” he’s trying to act disinterested but he’s failing miserably. Jaehyun lets out an incredulous laugh and looks at how the makeup is coming out before talking.

“You’re so bad at disguising.” Jaehyun isn’t looking at him when Sunwoo pouts in front of the accusation. He’s amazing at dissembling (not really). “We know you’re hooking up with him, you don’t have to pretend you’re not.”

Sunwoo has to take a second to analyze his roommate’s words and pulls away from the small brush Jaehyun is holding close to his face.

“I’m not hooking up with Chanhee,” his voice comes out firmly.

“You went to his house and didn’t come back all night and that same afternoon Chanhee was already walking around campus in his best health,” Jaehyun accuses. He has a point to assume that Sunwoo is lying, although it doesn’t offend him any less. “I don’t know why and I don’t know if I want to know but it’s clear that something happened if he was glowing the next day.”

“Yes, I stayed but because it was late and he didn’t want me to walk,” technically it’s not a lie, he does avoid saying that he didn’t want to walk because Chanhee begged him not to walk more than 10 meters without eating something to recover blood faster.

Sunwoo can see that Jaehyun doesn't fully believe him. Sunwoo himself wouldn't believe him if it was the other way around. And he actually has a reason not to believe him because Sunwoo is shamelessly lying about the true events of that night.

It's not like he can tell him the truth either.

“Whatever, I don’t believe you at all but if you’re not going to tell me now I understand” Jaehyun pauses to think and adds “I don’t really understand but I respect it, for now”

He’s trying to look up to Chanhee’s boundaries and he doesn’t feel bad about it, nor would he do it any other way, but he wishes he could share some of this new web of emotions with his best friend.

He can’t help himself from hating hiding things from Jaehyun and he hates even more that Jaehyun knows he’s hiding things.

They don’t mention the topic again and Sunwoo remains tense until they get to the party and the alcohol starts to invade his bloodstream.

The first thing Sunwoo sees when he gets to the party is an Eric very drunk for how early it is, he gives him a big hug ( is more affectionate that he usually is, but Sunwoo is not going to complain).

Eric also offers him a drink of something he doesn’t know exactly what it is but assures him that “you’re going to love it hyung, it’s super sweet.” Sunwoo rejects him and goes to find his own drink that doesn’t have an insane proportion of alcohol and soda.

On the kitchen counter there are a number of bottles and red plastic glasses available for the guests to mix up their drinks to their liking. Sunwoo plays it safe and mixes a low quality vodka with orange juice.

Jaehyun and Juyeon are out of sight as they walk through the front door so Sunwoo is at their mercy, looking at the dance floor thinking about finding someone to chat with for a while and then maybe going to the dance floor when a familiar face walks into the room.

Changmin looks more surprised than he should considering he probably already knew Sunwoo was attending the party anyway.

They nod at each other and don’t exchange words until Changmin breaks the ice but Sunwoo feels too awkward.

“So… how’s everything going?”

“As usual” says Sunwoo without taking his eyes off the orange liquid in his glass “having fun” doesn’t sound convincing at all.

“I was wondering about you know… Chanhee” says Changmin, who prepares his own concoction in a glass identical to Sunwoo’s.

That sets off some alarm bells for Sunwoo because as far as he knew Chanhee was feeling healthy and hadn't sent him any text messages indicating otherwise.

Although in retrospect it's likely Chanhee was pretending so as not to worry Sunwoo, the mere thought puts him on alert not only because it's probable but because it's expected and Sunwoo feels stupid for not having expected it.

“He’s fine by the way, you don’t have to panic” Changmin laughs. He laughs at the expression on Sunwoo’s own face which he’s sure will embarrass him later more than he is now. “He just complained that he’s hungry and I assumed he talked to you” Changmin says, now looking directly at him since he’s finished preparing his drink. “Though from your reaction I assume he hasn’t.”

He hasn't. Of course he hasn't.

A bit of panic grows in Sunwoo. He thought that since they shared that night Chanhee would be totally honest but in reality he can't expect decades-old customs to be uprooted from one day to the next.

He's a bit disappointed but can't find enough annoyance to last in his body to get angry at chanhee, all too aware that he's lived his whole life running away and hiding this secret from everyone.

Who did he think he was to make Chanhee just trust him completely overnight? He'd clearly been fantasizing too much.

“He didn’t tell me, but I considered it,” he answers, not quite sure how to describe what he feels, although he doesn’t really know if it’s Changmin who he wanted to talk to. It’s not like he has any options.

Changmin doesn't answer, just making a gesture with his lips that shows as much awkwardness as Sunwoo feels. They stand side by side as they finish drinking in total silence.

The conversation dies and neither of them tries to revive it, pleased with the awkward and vulnerable silence that formed from one moment to the next.

He and Changmin aren't the closest of friends, similar to his relationship with Chanhee after this mess, they have very few things in common besides Chanhee himself.

He's never been alone with Changmin, always surrounded by other mutual friends who guide the conversation, Sunwoo doesn't know what else to say to make this less uncomfortable than it already is.

“You should talk to him,” Changmin says before saying goodbye, probably because he realized that Sunwoo was too immersed in his own mind to have a real conversation.

Sunwoo, for his part, prepares another drink, this time stronger, if he wants to face the night he won’t be able to do it totally sober.

He wanders around the frat house for a while, talking to people and essentially looking for Jaehyun or Juyeon or Eric or any familiar face that he doesn't have to fake interest in to make them feel comfortable but he finds no one.

Once he's confirmed that all of his friends have disappeared into the crowd (Jaehyun and Juyeon probably fucking and Eric trying to hook up with some girl somewhere) he has more drinks, plays various drinking games with people he knows and some he doesn't know as well and gets drunk enough.

Sunwoo has a decent resistance to alcohol. He can drink more than Jaehyun, who is already smiley and cheerful after one beer, but he can't survive longer than Juyeon who seems to drink vodka like it's water and not recognize it at all.

By this point in the evening Sunwoo has pushed his boundaries a bit further than usual. Clearly cheerful but not completely drunk, forcing himself not to stop for every boy who looks like Chanhee.

Doesn't work.

He chats with his full attention to anyone only to not hear the voice in the back of his head that tells him that Chanhee hid the truth from him.

It is significantly later when he realizes that he actually needs a breath of fresh air (air that is not contaminated with the smell of sweat, drugs, cigarettes and excessive use of chocolate perfume).

He walks through a completely empty porch and stays somewhat away from the front door where the music has been encapsulated.

With the music playing in the background and a cool breeze blowing, Sunwoo checks his messages.

He has a message from Jaehyun telling him that they will be leaving soon and that if he wanted to go with him he should let him know, sent fifteen minutes ago. Sunwoo replies that he will stay a little longer and that he should not worry.

He sits on a step while he checks Twitter and then Instagram but nothing is too interesting, he just kills time before returning to the party when the sound of the door opening is heard.

Sunwoo doesn't really pay much attention to him until the stranger walks up to him to talk and addresses him.

Chanhee is dressed like he wants to cause a heart attack.

He's wearing a black tank top that completely shows his collarbones and closes around his neck. It's inside to his black leather pants (black leather for god's sake) that he thinks he's seen him wear before. Around his waist the belt was adorned with studs, highlighting all the curves of his body.

On his neck a black choker tight against his apple with some charms hanging from it, Sunwoo can't stop looking.

The outfit overall is painted on and doesn't leave much to Sunwoo's imagination, but he's too focused on her face to be able to think of Chanhee's figure right now.

He's wearing light makeup compared to others he's seen wearing (or so it seems, Sunwoo doesn't know much about it), he can see her freckles under a thin layer of makeup and he also notices that the shadows are bright and reddish that highlight his eyes. He's wearing a lot of glitter on his eyelids and also a gloss that makes her lips look like the biggest walking sin.

His hair is styled in waves instead of his usual straight hair and the pink is slightly softer, probably faded from washes without retouching.

Chanhee is many things to many people. He's been classified as odd, mysterious, beautiful, majestic, strange, unapproachable.

To Sunwoo tonight, Chanhee can only be classified as tempting .

“You’re really drunk, aren’t you?” is the first thing Chanhee says to him.

“Not really,” Sunwoo replies, enthralled by Chanhee. He believes any trace of alcohol in his blood has disappeared now that Chanhee is present, he’s awake and alert.

Chanhee takes a spot right next to him on the step, pants tightening around his thighs and Sunwoo thinks he's let out a raw sound just because of the image.

Chanhee doesn't look at his face, but looks at his clothes.

Sunwoo ended up wearing a grey t-shirt that hugs his chest, a light blue denim jacket with sleeves made of a completely different fabric and even changing color to brown. The black jeans, loose on his legs and tight on his hips, hide the military boots that he wore almost every day.

It wasn't his most original outfit, it was by far the simplest. But now, seeing Chanhee keep her eyes fixed on his chest a little longer than usual, he was thankful that he had decided on this outfit and not another of his options.

Sunwoo might be flexing a bit but if you ask him he'll say no.

Anyway, it doesn't matter to Sunwoo where Chanhee is looking at him as long as he's looking at him . As long as it gives Sunwoo time to memorize Chanhee looks in the back of his mind.

Up close, Sunwoo can make out how Chanhee's eyes are embellished in different shades of red and not just one, he can notice that he's filled in his eyebrows and can even see the mascara and blush he's wearing.

But even more importantly, as Sunwoo sits there, hip to hip, their thighs touching, he can notice that Chanhee's lips are wearing a soft, pink lipstick with a brownish undertone, shiny and glossy.

Sunwoo has discovered many things about himself, and one of those is that he has been looking into everyone's mouths in search of Chanhee's. And not just the teeth.

Sunwoo has discovered that no mouth is like Chanhee's mouth.

His lips that he's seen in different lipsticks of different shades and brands, matte, gloss, it doesn't matter, Chanhee's lips are something that will always look kissable. He'll always have to pinch himself and bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself from doing something stupid like leaning in and kissing him.

“I didn't see you at the party” Sunwoo says just so he can focus on something other than the rubbing of their legs.

The cool wind blowing makes every hair on his body stand on end. He knows that there is no flavor in any snack that was offered to Chanhee during the party. Sunwoo understands the implications of his answer when he looks at him as if he wants to have more of him than what he is already giving him.

Which is ironic because Sunwoo would give Chanhee anything he asks for just to make her look at him the way he is looking at him now. Sunwoo would bleed for Chanhee if he wanted him to.

And he knows he wants it, but Chanhee hasn't told him.

“I talked to Changmin” he says and he can automatically feel a change in the atmosphere and the warmth that was growing between them disappears completely.

Sunwoo feels a bit like a jerk for bringing it up like that but he can't pretend that he doesn't know that Chanhee was actually hungry and had been ignoring him, lying, pretending.

More so now that Chanhee seems to want him.

“Did you do it?”

“He told me about hunger” Sunwoo says and Chanhee doesn’t answer, he just looks at him waiting for something he can’t fully read. “Listen, I don’t know if I wasn't clear enough before, but I’m willing for you to bite me, I’m so willing, Chanhee, that you can’t imagine. But I need you to trust me more because you told me it was just an appetite and not hunger and now you’re saying things like that and I really want to help you but I need you to tell me because I can’t guess what’s going on in your head right now.”

His breathing is labored, vomiting out all his dismay as they stare at each other, Sunwoo is starting to believe that he's somehow screwed up. Again, what was he thinking accusing him like that over a clear trust issue decades in the making?

He feels like an asshole for bringing this up in the middle of a party on literally the porch of a frat house, with no privacy and the smell of sweat and alcohol stuck to his skin and clothes. This is the worst place to talk about it, but if he just let it go he wouldn't be able to help Chanhee as he wants tol.

How is he supposed to help him feed himself if he keeps lying about it?

He really wants to help him, he wants Chanhee to bite him every day if it reduces his hunger, if it stops Chanhee from suffering, Sunwoo would extract blood from himself to give him to drink.

He wants to feed him, take care of him, love him as much as he's allowed to and more.

He's sitting on the porch of Eric's frat house for God's sake, offering himself over and over again to a boy he's been nothing but good friends with for the past year and a half of knowing each other.

“Can we look for a more private place?” Chanhee asks.

They don’t look too hard. They end up circling the fraternity until they decide on one of the sides, there are no people around and it’s dark due to the lack of lighting.

From there the sound of the party is lower, giving the sensation of privacy that they don’t really have. Anyone can find them if they look for them, even a couple looking for a place to make out could find them.

“I didn’t lie” says Chanhee, Sunwoo leans his back against the wall with his arms crossed and Chanhee seems to want to get closer to him but he stops himself “when we talked I wasn’t hungry, it was just an appetite like I said, it was just that over time I started to get really hungry”

“why didn’t you say it? I thought you knew it was okay with me if it happened again”

Chanhee and he don’t argue. Never seriously at least.

They always treated each other with jokes that sought to hurt each other's ego, making fun of their mistakes and that, just as friends do, never crossing the line of what was truly painful, so they never had a serious conversation until the events that build up in the last few days.

Sunwoo never had to tell Chanhee about any misunderstanding, any misinterpretation, he never had to tell him “I told you I thought this”, this is a new experience for him.

Chanhee seems to be absorbing all his new experiences as if he were feeding off them.

Sunwoo isn't complaining, he'd like them to be satisfying firsts though.

“I know, I know, it’s just complicated,” Chanhee says, his gaze firms on Sunwoo, never breaking eye contact (Sunwoo used to think they were lifeless but a few feet away he feels like he can see all of Chanhee’s emotions pouring out of his eyes) “I thought maybe you wanted to, like, be nice and something, and I also didn’t want to be needy and make demands of something dangerous so I held on as long as I could until I had no other choice.”

“That is literally the stupidest idea in the world and I am offering myself as instant food, Chanhee”

“I'm sorry”

Chanhee's eyes are filled with regret. Sunwoo thinks the vampire could start crying at any moment from how distressed he looks, he had even started to pout a little.

All the anger he had been gathering to stand steady in front of Chanhee is reduced in his chest when he sees her lower lip start to tremble.

Against his better judgment he approaches the older one, holding one of his hands in his own, he lets his fingers make non-existent shapes on the back of his hand with his thumb only to caress the cold foreign skin. “It’s okay,” he replies. “Just, please, try to trust me a little more.”

All his work thinking of what to say to Chanhee, how to confront him are ruined by a small pout.

Sunwoo doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He's spent the last few hours with an exhausting, upset feeling in his chest remembering how he couldn't help Chanhee only for Chanhee to pout a little and his entire facade fall apart in an instant.

Somehow the whole conversation makes him feel even worse.

There's something insecure brewing in his head that makes him believe he just can't do this for Chanhee.

Maybe he can't.

Perhaps he's not the one to take care of him. for him to trust him.

He can feel Chanhee's gaze on his face but he doesn't look back, focused only on the other's hands whose fingers intertwine, bringing their bodies closer together until the joined hands are held between their bodies.

If Sunwoo can't help him feed himself, then he'll enjoy the last few minutes of contact that Chanhee offers him.

In this position Sunwoo can smell the soft coconut shampoo on Chanhee's hair, who breathes deeply against his shoulder.

“I do,” he says softly in a small whisper. “I trust you.”

Sunwoo wants to believe him.

They silently share the space. Their chests pressed against each other, their hands intertwined. Chanhee has her forehead against his shoulder hiding her face from Sunwoo's view.

He just enjoys Chanhee's superficial breathing.

They spend too much time in the same position, just stuck to each other without sharing any words, it's intimate and private in a way that can't easily be compared.

Sunwoo is not a virgin by any means, but he is not romantically active. His last serious relationship had been in high school and since then he had only gone on spontaneous dates with people that at some point just didn't work out together.

Sunwoo hasn't built up the intimacy of being hugged in silence listening to each other's breaths while smelling his lover's perfume for too long, everything always being too new to be so intimate or too unknown to relax.

But with Chanhee he feels like he could do this for hours and it would be fine. holding him around his body in the cool night weather that accompanies them, Sunwoo wants the moment to last forever.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that his friend is literally feeding off of his body, or maybe it's because of some unknown psychological event that makes him feel very close to the man who could kill him with one bite. He wishes he had paid attention to the optional psychology class he took last semester, but he doubts they explain the effects of getting involved with a vampire.

He doesn't care about the explanation of why he feels so deeply about Chanhee's well-being either.

It probably doesn't even have to do with the vampire thing, Sunwoo would be just as intertwined with Chanhee's health care if it was something not mythologically related.

He wants Chanhee to be okay under any circumstances. Vampire or not.

That just came with the "Choi Chanhee care" package.

They don't look at each other like Sunwoo would like to do when he starts talking again, but if they don't talk about this now, there won't be a better time.

“When I told you I wanted to do it regularly, I meant it,” Sunwoo says. “I want you to let me take care of you.”

“I know I said I trust you, and I really do” Chanhee’s voice sounds self-assured but Sunwoo knows him well enough to know that’s not how he really feels, even though he can’t see it in his eyes “But I know I’m taking advantage of you in some way”

Sunwoo has to force himself not to roll his eyes “ How could you take advantage of me when I’m offering myself”

Chanhee momentarily pulls away to look at him, raising his eyebrows as if he's saying something stupid, just like he usually does whenever he thinks Sunwoo says something stupid

(Sunwoo thinks it's cute how he raises his eyebrows and rolls his eyes but he doesn't tell him, it's not the right moment, maybe he'll tell him later)

“You want to help me and I understand that but we both know that you're not really getting anything out of this, I'm the only one who benefits from both of us”

“Do you seriously think I'm not getting anything out of this?” Sunwoo is incredulous, of all the things chanhee could think, this was the furthest option from reality, he thought he was transparent about his desires but Chanhee didn’t understand him at all “I get you out of this, i want you to bite me, i like you to bite me, i can’t imagine you biting anyone else Chanhee, i’m selfish with this, with you”

Chanhee's eyes shine with something Sunwoo identifies as joy and affection, he can even see a happy pout forming on his lips but still chanhee doesn’t say anything before returning to the previous position.

“Chanhee” his voice drops a few tones in an attempt to not make noise “please bite me

There is no light on the sides of the building so he can't see Chanhee's expression clearly, but he can still see how all the gestures on his face are soft and carefree.

In his eyes he can see the affection from before mixed with a deep desire that darkens his gaze.

Sunwoo thinks he's putting an effort into that expression because when he looks into his eyes, even in the dark, he can perfectly read the doubts that overwhelm him.

“I'll be fine, do it on the shoulder this time” he insists.

Chanhee seems unconvinced “Are you sure? It might hurt more”

Sunwoo has never been more convinced “Just do it”

Sunwoo quickly gets rid of his jacket, letting it fall at his feet and giving Chanhee a clearer path.

The area they chose is a little more difficult to bite considering that he can't get rid of the shirt covering his shoulder as easily as he can get rid of the jacket.

Blinded by anticipation, he ends up stretching the neck of the shirt until he hears the threads snap and his collarbone is almost completely exposed, allowing him easy access to said area.

Chanhee's eyes that were roaming his face looking for any sign of regret now focus on the new skin showing as if he's mesmerized by it.

Sunwoo can't tell how much it feeds his ego to know that Chanhee wants to bite him as much as he wants to be bitten.

He can even notice how the vampire's gaze lingers on his neck. Sunwoo stops breathing until Chanhee's eyes focus on his shoulder again.

Part of him wants to tell him to bite him there , that he can handle it, that it doesn't scare him, that he wants it.

He wants Chanhee to suck all the blood he wants right from his neck. He wants it so bad it hurts.

Just like the first time, Chanhee movements are slow. Testing the waters, afraid of messing up and hurting him when his face is so incredibly close to his skin.

Sunwoo feels the graze of Chanhee's breath on his skin and has to stop himself from sighing as the chill runs down his spine.

Unsure of where to position his hands, ChanHee ends up deciding to rest one of them on the covered shoulder while the other holds the loose fabric out of his way.

Chanhee doesn't even give Sunwoo a glance this time, but when he opens his mouth and his fangs brush against his skin, Chanhee pauses (too brief to notice if he wasn't paying attention) then the pair of teeth break through the firsts layers of skin.

There is a slight sensation of numbness in his head despite the sharp pain of the bite. There is a chill that runs down his spine and is beyond explanation.

He feels his knees shake from the sensation, his breathing becomes chaotic, short and agitated as if he were drowning. He keeps his eyes closed when his hands lock onto Chanhee's waist in search of support.

He feels like he's going to fall at any moment.

Then Chanhee starts sucking .

Really sucking this time, Sunwoo is able to feel the pressure on his skin and if he concentrates hard enough he can feel the moisture dripping from Chanhee's lips. He can't tell if it's his blood, the vampire's saliva or a mix of both.

He has to pray that no one finds them because of the shame of shivering of excitement just from having Chanhee hanging from his shoulder, holding onto his biceps as if it were a lifeline, digging the tips of his fingers so deep that they'll leave marks tomorrow (Sunwoo hopes he does), limiting all his movements so he can bite him at ease.

Sunwoo is forced to firmly hold his hands on the boy's waist to hold him in place, closer than before, there are no inches between their bodies that separate them, both lost in the satisfaction that the other gives them.

(Chanhee's waist is so small that Sunwoo could wrap his whole arm around it, he doesn't. But he wants to. So much.)

Sunwoo is all trembling with the desire to have Chanhee closer, to be on top of him as much as possible, to hold him close to him in such a way that minds and bodies blend together and become one.

The voice of logic in the back of his brain tells him that they are indeed already one. The blood from his shoulder is now in Chanhee's mouth, feeding, consuming him to fill itself with energy and strength. Sunwoo is getting dizzy thinking about it.

His blood now runs through all of Chanhee's teeth and his body will absorb it to make it part of him, soak up all the nutrients to get the most out of it.

Sunwoo's hand travels uncontrollably to the back of Chanhee's neck and presses to keep him in place. Chanhee bites down harder, boozing more blood and Sunwoo can't help but moan at the twisted pleasure of hearing Chanhee enjoying this as much as he does.

He can feel the heat of desire growing in his lower abdomen and he even notices his member hardening in his pants without any help from anything other than chanhee's bite and his own head.

Out of the corner of his eye, he sees someone walking through the front yard, not too far from where they're hiding. They don't see him but Sunwoo shivers in embarrassment and something else. He's turned on, and being like this in front of Chanhee is one thing but being whimpering and half hard in front of someone else is another story. A much more embarrassing one.

There, pressed against a vampire and damn hot for it, must be one of the most embarrassing places to be found.

Chanhee doesn't notice, too focused on letting out sweet sounds of satisfaction (he did that). Still, Sunwoo pulls on his hair as a sign to let him go. Chanhee makes a pitiful noise but does it anyway.

He only got a few inches away before he stuck his tongue out and licked the damn wound he made.

Oh god. Oh god.

If Sunwoo was already half hard just with the idea of feeding Chanhee with his blood, now he is as hard as a rock with the warm and wet sensation of Chanhee's tongue catching the drops of blood that still come out of the two holes in his skin.

Mixing with his tongue the remains of blood that he didn't swallow at the time. Sunwoo can't help but not move in his place trying to make Chanhee not notice what happens in his pants. It doesn't work.

Chanhee, still pressing every inch of his body against him, doesn't need to look to know he's hard.

“You can't be serious.”

“I'm sorry!”

He does, he really does.

He forgets everything he said about not being ashamed of being turn on in front of Chanhee, he feels his chest burning from the inside out of shame, he's starting to sweat as he avoids Chanhee's gaze on his face.

He lets go of Chanhee's waist just to cover his face, he wants to run away. He can't imagine anything more embarrassing than this.

In what world does someone get cursed hard from being bitten by a vampire?

“It's okay dude, just let me know next time” Chanhee jokes and chuckle and Sunwoo wants to die

“Shut up! I don’t- I just- stop please ” He could cry, he hears Chanhee giggling and then the weight of her body leans against him again.

“Can I?”

Oh god.

Sunwoo can't find his voice to affirm so he nods, Chanhee laughs softly again.

Chanhee is gentle as he rests his hands on Sunwoo's waist, his touch burns through his clothes and he has to take a deep breath to keep from moving.

Chanhee's hands wander over his abs without going lower where he really needs it but Sunwoo isn't going to say anything and make it obvious that he really needs it.

Chanhee seems to be having fun with his reactions, caressing his abdomen and a wandering hand lifts his shirt to touch him directly on the skin. Sunwoo can't hide his rapid and short breathing when two of his fingers trace his abdomen until they reach the area below his navel, playing with his happy trail, with no particular objective other than to drive him crazy with anticipation.

“Please,” he begs embarrassedly, and Chanhee rolls his eyes as if he doesn’t know what he’s doing on purpose to drive him crazy.

But he fulfilled, his hand playing with the waistband of his pants and then caressing them over the fabric.

The layers of clothes don't allow him to feel anything but the pressure of the palm on his length and yet Sunwoo mewls, a pathetic, desperate sound that makes Chanhee smile full of himself.

Chanhee is smiling , the bastard.

Sunwoo can't complain because Chanhee continues to press his member and now he's stroking it over the fabric and it's not enough, it doesn't scratch the surface of his desire and yet he's whimpering for it.

He hides his red face in the vampire's shoulder hoping to protect his honor but he has already lost it completely.

“Chanhee can you- please, can you…” he is begging for more contact, he wants the vampire's hand to go into his underwear and hold him for real but Chanhee just laughs at him again, having fun with his suffering.

Of course he does.

“Wait a second” he replies and all contact is lost, Sunwoo is disoriented blinking when Chanhee, with renewed strength, holds him by the shoulders and places in their new position.

Now Chanhee is against the wall, he pushes him to bring their bodies back together but the vampire separates his own legs and with his knee forces Sunwoo to open his own, placing himself practically sitting on his knee.

Sunwoo's body feels like a fire against Chanhee's cold skin, even through his clothes he can feel the coldness of his legs between his own.

(He has the impulsive thought of imagining if Chanhee is cold inside too and forces himself not to look into it too much or he might cum right there)

Sunwoo hides his face in the other's neck again, where his perfume is stronger and where he doesn't have to see Chanhee's smug expression when his hands rush to hold him by the waist and rub against him like a damn teenager in puberty.

Chanhee is hard too, he realizes belatedly, as he rubs his still clothed hard members.

The knowledge pushes him to hold Chanhee tighter, pushing him into his thigh and Chanhee, like the living sin that he is, rolls his hips into him, and lets out a sound that Sunwoo had only heard him make when eating out of him so far.

He feels dazed with the realization. Chanhee likes this, almost as much as he does.

With his ego swollen he continues to rub against Chanhee, running his lips along Chanhee's neck who is now the one complaining, almost stuttering not knowing what to do and Sunwoo adores it.

He leaves a trail of kisses between his own moans and doesn't miss the opportunity to nibble and lick until he reaches the spot behind his ear that makes Chanhee moan louder. He continues along his jawline to his chin where he can taste the remains of his own blood that Chanhee hadn't cleaned away.

He pulls away just to look at Chanhee properly, his hands around his shoulders to pull him closer, arching his back to feel the warmth of his body against his own cold one. Chanhee's face was one of pure pleasure, his glassy eyes that he can always read like a book asking for more, Sunwoo wants to give him everything he asks for.

Chanhee's lips are covered in his blood like lipstick staining his face after a heavy kissing session, his blood still drips down his chin and Sunwoo can recognize some of it on his teeth.

Sunwoo had never been so excited for someone.

His whole body burns with desire, he has to force himself to breathe when he sees Chanhee's cheeks as red as his red eyes.

Chanhee's eyes are something that Sunwoo adores about him, probably his favorite part of the boy. He loves the chocolate color of which there is no trace left now.

They are a deep, dark red. Sunwoo then realizes that Chanhee can still taste his own blood in his mouth.

Their gazes only need to meet once to know what he wants. Sunwoo gives it to him without hesitation.

He kisses him.

Sunwoo can taste his own blood on his tongue as Chanhee opens his mouth for more and he takes and takes and takes everything Chanhee asks him to take.

The metallic taste of his blood has him moving against him, Chanhee's hands now running through his hair, twisting and pushing to get him closer. Chanhee bites his lips (no fangs but Sunwoo wonders how it would feel and moans at that) in order to let his tongue wander.

Chanhee's tongue is overwhelming and tangles with his fiercely, holding him close. Sunwoo continues to thrust against Chanhee's member in search of some sort of contact. One of Chanhee's legs goes up to his hip and hooks there to remind him closer. God . Sunwoo holds him by the ass and moves him against him at will, making him ride on his thigh harder and harder as if it wasn't enough.

Chanhee is writhing in his hold, moaning between the kisses.

“God, you are so perfect” Sunwoo can’t help but say, moving away less than necessary to speak “but you know that right?”

And Chanhee moans even louder for that. Oh, he knows.

“That… That’s not it, fuck, keep going like that” Chanhee stutters.

He’s stuttering just from rubbing against his clothes and Sunwoo goes crazy thinking about the noises he could get out of him if he could just bury him in it.

Chanhee is a walking sin as is, fucked-out gaze, blush on his face and mouth open letting out all those... sounds that will haunt Sunwoo for the rest of his life. He won't find a single night of peace after this one.

One of his hands wanders under the vampire's shirt until it reaches his nipple where Chanhee lets out an almost pornographic moan.

“Are you sensitive here Chanhee?”

“Keep kissing me, idiot”

And who is he to ignore him?

They kiss for what could be hours (or minutes, or days, he's not sure), rubbing against each other until the lack of contact hurts. From the first moment Sunwoo reached his nipple he didn't let go, squeezing and rolling it between his fingers. He's tempted to wrap his tongue around it but he's not willing to stop kissing it. Maybe another time. Definitely another time.

He hasn't let go of Chanhee's hip the entire time they've been kissing, guiding him as Chanhee rolls his hips against Sunwoo's leg seeking his own pleasure.

It's all so much more than Sunwoo expected to get, so when Chanhee pulls away from him to rest her forehead on his shoulder to catch his breath, he's more than willing to just leave him at his apartment and finish this another time.

To his surprise, that's not what happens.

Chanhee presses his erection through his pants, and he is letting out a truly pathetic moan at this.

Then, Chanhee slips his hand under his pants.

He still keeps his hand above the thin fabric of his underwear but he can feel more now, Chanhee's grip is firm as he runs up and down and pauses momentarily at the head where the fabric is wet with precum that has been dripping since he bit him.

“Chanhee you don't have to-”

Chanhee cuts him off “I want to”

His hand is barely smaller than his own and yet his member, even when wrapped, seems larger than it looks in his own hands. He lets out a moan at the sight.

“We're in public, we shouldn't be-” He insists because he still has a bit of human decency left.

“But do you want it?” He interrupts again. Sunwoo doesn't respond for a moment, consumed by Chanhee's grip on his cock. “No one's going to see us, let me do this.”

Sunwoo nods, he still thinks it's risky and even if this is the consequence of having Chanhee, he will gladly pay for it.

Chanhee plays with the different pressures along his cock, testing which one gets the loudest moan out of him, but nothing seems to satisfy him as he continues to run his hand along the length, from his thumb that absentmindedly massages the head to the base where he holds it so firm that Sunwoo sees stars.

He's close, so close, there's nothing he can do to stop himself from cumming if Chanhee keeps playing like that.

"I'm close"

Chanhee doesn't answer, Sunwoo thinks he hasn't heard him when the vampire wraps his free arm around him bringing him closer to his lips for a kiss.

The kiss is passionate and slow, different from the kisses they had shared before but no less good and desperate. When they separate, Chanhee is stroking his cock faster than before. He's losing his mind just with this, just with Chanhee's hand.

All his abdomen is tense from the strength he's putting into not cumming, letting all sorts of whimpers escape. He has to close his eyes tightly and his hands hold Chanhee's back strongly in search of some kind of support.

“Chanhee, I, I need-”

He can swear that his entire back is damp with perspiration, he can even feel his hair sticking to his forehead from it. He can't stop moving around in his place, he has begun to give small, uncontrollable thrusts against Chanhee's hand because of the unstoppable sensation that forms at the base of his dick.

“Come on then, do what you need” there is something similar to mockery in Chanhee’s voice but Sunwoo can’t focus on that when a shiver runs through his entire body like a tremor. He moans louder than decent and can’t help but tremble during the long seconds that his orgasm lasts.

His whole body shudders because of it, and he stops hearing for a few seconds to only feel a buzzing in his ears while everything around him is replaced by a feeling of motion sickness.

No matter what he does the rest of his life, his body will never reach the level of relaxation that he experiences in those seconds.

He's still catching his breath when Chanhee unhooks her leg from his hip and takes some space to adjust his clothes and try to at least look somewhat presentable.

Sunwoo can't think straight.

It's the best orgasm he's had in years.

And Chanhee wasn't even touching him properly.

He 's ruined .

Sex will never be good again because of this.

“Should I, I mean, do you want to? I mean-” Sunwoo isn’t sure how to say it, still dazed from the orgasm. “What I’m trying to say is, do you need… help?”

Chanhee just stares at him blankly for a second before saying “I think I’m okay.”

And you see Sunwoo is a gentleman , it's okay that he hasn't had many partners throughout his life but he's not an idiot and he believes that, in sexual terms, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, in this case, one orgasm for another. It's unfair that Sunwoo just had an almost spiritual experience and left Chanhee hard for no reason.

“Are you sure? I can do something for you too,” he insists again.

Chanhee has that look on his face that he gets when he's making fun of Sunwoo, bright eyes and a smug smirk. it only lasts a second before being replaced by an embarrassed expression, even his ears turn red.

Which confuses Sunwoo because as far as he knows there's nothing to make fun of when he's offering a messy blowjob or whatever he's offering right now.

Then Chanhee looks at himself and Sunwoo follows his gaze.

On Chanhee's crotch is a stain, barely visible in the dark but incredibly incriminating.

Oh.

Chanhee came on his pants, without even touching him.

He lets that sink in for a second.

Chanhee has the decency to at least look embarrassed about it. Sunwoo feels his (honestly, tired and irritated) dick tug at it.

It's arguable to say that Sunwoo also came in his pants just like a pubescent boy would do but in his defense, Chanhee was giving him a handjob, he was freshly bitten and making one of his most recent fantasies come true. Chanhee, on the other hand, wasn't getting a handjob, he wasn't being bitten and Sunwoo is pretty sure that Chanhee wasn't fulfilling a fantasy here.

So, under Sunwoo's logic, Chanhee came simply because of giving Sunwoo a handjob.

He wonders what was the trigger; was it the handjob itself or the constant rubbing of their members? Was it seeing Sunwoo come because of him or knowing that he has all this power over him? Was it something he did or was Chanhee's brain formulating a fantasy during this whole moment?

The possibilities are endless. Still, he doesn't think Chanhee would tell him what it was, even if he asks, the vampire looks so ashamed that he would refuse to give him an answer.

It takes Sunwoo a good few seconds to interpret all of this, his brain still sluggish from the orgasm and lack of blood. By the time he looks back at Chanhee's face the vampire looks as embarrassed as he could be given the situation.

“I think we should go home” Chanhee says “I’m really uncomfortable right now” he laughs, Sunwoo can tell he adds that last bit just to break the layer of tension forming around them.

“Oh god, now I have to walk to the dorms with wet pants, gross” Sunwoo says, he's not trying to be funny but Chanhee laughs out loud and Sunwoo can't help but laugh with him.

“We should have thought this through better,” Chanhee says once he’s not laughing.

They both start walking away from the house, heading towards Sunwoo’s bedroom.

For the rest of the way (they take the loneliest and darkest route so as not to run into anyone and even if they did it would be easier to hide the evidence in their clothes) they are uncomfortable.

Sunwoo has stopped walking like a normal person ten minutes ago doing everything possible so that his skin does not touch his wet boxers (he doesn't succeed).

Chanhee has taken Sunwoo's jacket, tying it around his waist to cover the stain on his own clothes. Yet, they argue about who should take the jacket for another good ten minutes until Sunwoo gives in and gives Chanhee the jacket

By the time they reach Sunwoo's bedroom door, there's no tension in the air.

The layer of vulnerability and closeness that formed the night Sunwoo found out Chanhee was a vampire was fragile and delicate. The shared secret had accelerated the proximity of their bond, and Sunwoo doesn't believe it's just largely because he let himself be bitten by chanhee that he can't stop thinking about him now.

The bond was so far raw, new, unprepared, unhealed. They walked around the other in fear of hurting each other.

After today, Sunwoo wants to have faith that it has changed. Like a friendship strengthened by an uncontrollable event, the comfort and security between them blossoms like a second skin.

With another bite in their history and knowledge of the other's feelings, he trusts that what needed to be taken care of as if it were going to break, has today shown it can survive adversity.

Deep inside, he knows that Chanhee will never be just a friend to him again.

They are both in front of Sunwoo's dorm, the silence of the night is their company and forces them to whisper in fear of waking up anyone who is sleeping.

“I think Jaehyun is here but you can stay if you want, it's a bit late” suggests Sunwoo, who has placed the key in the lock but has not made any movement to open the door.

“I honestly think I'd rather go back to my place, we can talk tomorrow” Chanhee answers.

Sunwoo is tense, but not tense as if he's walking on egg whites but tense as if he wants Chanhee's eyes to never leave him.

“Jaehyun is chill about it, he probably doesn't notice you're here,” he insists. “Besides, it's dangerous to be out alone at this hour.”

“I think I represent more of a danger to the others than the others do to me, you know.” Chanhee smiles at Sunwoo's slow realization. “And I don't need to sleep, so it's actually better if I leave and let you rest.”

“Right, that’s true” Sunwoo answers awkwardly.

He doesn’t want Chanhee to leave but the vampire is right, he is more than capable of defending himself from anyone who wants to do something to him at night, he doesn’t need to sleep so staying in someone else’s bedroom with two adults (three if Juyeon is here, which he probably is) unconscious while he is completely awake is more than an inconvenience.

But Sunwoo doesn't want Chanhee to leave.

As Chanhee reads his thoughts, he says, "Do you want to go for coffee tomorrow?"

He answers so quickly that it's sad, "Of course."

And Chanhee, like the fallen angel that he is, gives him the most beautiful smile that Sunwoo has ever seen in his life.

“Great, it’s a date, call me when you wake up.”

Sunwoo doesn't fall asleep until hours after Chanhee leaves, long after Chanhee even lets him know that he arrived safely at his own apartment.

He has time to change his clothes (finally) and leave a glass of water on his nightstand with some pills for his headache that his future self will thank him for.

When he's lying under his sheets with clean clothes on, he can still feel his heart beating like crazy in his chest from the excitement for tomorrow. Every time he closes his eyes, the image of Chanhee's smile when he tells him it's a date plays in his head.

(That night, Sunwoo dreams about Chanhee.

It's different from the boy's last dreams, in this one they aren't naked and he isn't biting him. It's the opposite, they just share a milkshake while they talk about their day.

Sunwoo wakes up happier than usual the next day)

For those interested, the outfits described here are based on Instagram photos from January 7 (Chanhee) and November 25 (Sunwoo), both from last year (because I'm crazy and wanted biblically accurate outfits)

Chapter 3: moonstruck

Summary:

“Most of us” Juyeon says, looking into the distance from where Jaehyun approaches to them “converted or born, hate biting humans, it’s archaic and disastrous, I guess if Chanhee had another choice he wouldn’t have done it either”

The reality is that Chanhee would never have agreed to bite Sunwoo if he had another chance, but that night Chanhee was delirious with hunger, and Sunwoo was too willing for his own good.

The only logical reason why they continued with this is because there really were no other options.

Notes:

Finally the last chapter, this took me twice as long just to write the sex scene, if I didn't publish it I was going to be editing it for the rest of my life
I took advantage of this chapter to expand the small universe I created to have the possibility of making sequels in the future or even a second part if I wanted to

Some warnings before continuing:

I wrote and edited most of this in the morning so I'll probably end up coming back here to fix minor errors.

Also, in case you didn't notice before, I have no idea how college dorms work so I made that whole part up for the benefit of the plot, don't get too attached to it because it probably won't make sense with real life.

I mention a power dynamic a couple of times in this chapter, when Sunwoo thinks he's taken advantage of Chanhee, but while I don't elaborate on it, that didn't actually happen, still, if you're not completely comfortable with that, avoid reading it.

That's all for now, enjoy this final chapter.

Chapter Text

Sunwoo and Chanhee go on a date two days after the party to a small cafe outside the campus.

Then they go on another date, and another, and another.

A lot of these dates actually take place in study spaces or Chanhee's apartment because, as much as they both want to go to cafes and restaurants and parks every day, they actually have final exams they need to pass.

During study dates they don't talk as much as they would like but each other's company is just as warm in silence. Chanhee makes sure to bring something to eat (he never eats but Sunwoo enjoys all the desserts he brings alone) and Sunwoo always buys two iced Americanos for them.

They even manage to fit in a date at a Thai restaurant that Sunwoo had never been to before.

They talk a lot and Sunwoo learns a lot about vampires (or rather Chanhee, what's the difference though). Chanhee answers all his questions patiently, even the ridiculous ones.

From what he understands, Chanhee is dead. Well not dead but not alive either, leaving him in the limbo of eternal life where he doesn't age nor does his blood circulate nor does he need to eat to live.

In fact, normal food offers him no nutritional value (because his digestive system doesn't work like a human's, or something, he just didn't understand that part). Since he's technically dead, his heart doesn't actually beat and his blood doesn't circulate, but since his brain is still alive and functioning (pretty much), he needs nutrients that he gets from fresh blood from others. Chanhee explains this with a very precise analogy about having chronic anemia.

The whole story of vampire adaptation to the medium is actually very interesting as well as complex. Sunwoo misses out on a lot of the fine details about it.

Chanhee is also kind enough to refute all the cultural myths about vampires (no, crosses don't kill us and no, garlic doesn't do anything to us. No, the sun doesn't burn us either, it just exhausts us, we have very delicate and white skin as a result of not wanting to be in the sun.)

As for vampire puberty, there isn't much Chanhee can say since there are few vampires who reach Chanhee's age without biting humans and it is documented. They both decide to attribute Chanhee's recent desire for human blood to his body asking for what it really needs.

(“why puberty if your body isn't changing in any way”

“I guess the change is that I need human blood now and it's not just a possibility”

“but why puberty then if it's not maturing”

“I don't know sunwoo, I'm not a vampire wikipedia either”)

Chanhee also bites him. A lot.

Sunwoo, of course, doesn't complain.

They look for time between study breaks and their other activities for Chanhee to bite him. Although Sunwoo has hinted at the possibility of him biting his neck, Chanhee continues to opt for his shoulders and arms.

Somehow the bite keeps leading them to something more each time, Sunwoo has to be thankful that most of those times it's in private.

Not always it is.

The first time it happens again in public is in the library, they're in the ergodic literature section (whatever that is) at the back of the library where no one comes anymore. Sunwoo can even notice the dust accumulating on the shelves.

They kiss for a few minutes, Sunwoo likes it when Chanhee pretends that he doesn't enjoy this like he does, acting that the chase and the risk of being found isn't one of the reasons why he continues to ask Sunwoo to kiss him in all these places.

It doesn't take long before Chanhee asks for his arm to bite it and Sunwoo has to bite his lip to keep from moaning when Chanhee just bites him deep on the forearm.

After that, they both have to leave the library to change clothes.

It happens again between classes too.

Chanhee and Sunwoo's schedules don't quite match up. At night, Sunwoo sleeps and Chanhee studies. In the morning, Sunwoo has classes and Chanhee rests in the darkness of his apartment. Although he doesn't need to sleep, he explains to Sunwoo that in the mornings his body feels heavier until midday, when he's already used to the sunlight. He regains energy by lying down, similar to meditation.

In the afternoons and evenings, Chanhee has classes and Sunwoo is studying for exams or training with the soccer team, so they tend to share the limited time available in those afternoons together.

Chanhee has found a pleasure in accompanying Sunwoo on his training sessions, usually just watching from the stands as the boy runs around and does a series of exercises that Chanhee wouldn't do even if he is being paid.

During breaks, Sunwoo often approaches him to share a few words before the coach yells at him to “stop being distracted by your boyfriend, Kim” and runs back to the field with red ears.

The most enjoyable part of watching Sunwoo train isn’t just watching the sweaty, panting boy give him goals and waving. It’s not even the moments when Sunwoo wipes the sweat off his body with his shirt just to intentionally show Chanhee his abs.

All of that is great, but the best part is when Sunwoo comes up with a silly excuse to not go into the showers with the rest of his teammates and then there, alone, Chanhee has all the freedom to sit on his lap and bite his shoulder until he's satisfied.

He's become addicted.

Sunwoo, his blood more specifically, is the sweetest thing chanhee has tasted in years.

Rats' blood tends to have a tasteless flavor. Squirrels' blood is usually thicker and even milky. The blood of all sea animals tastes too unpleasant to be worth it. The blood of larger animals like rabbits, ducks, and roosters (which he's only had a chance to taste a handful of times) is juicier and certainly more flavorful but not enough.

Cow blood was the best option, however it was more complicated, mainly because there are no cows in the city and also because he is not willing to buy meat and then just lick and nibble on it raw and then have to throw it away because Changmin didn't want to cook it and eat it himself. Too much waste.

Sunwoo's blood, however, was delightful.

After all the times he's bitten him, he still doesn't know if it's Sunwoo's blood or just human blood, but Chanhee can't get enough of him.

When Sunwoo finishes training his scent is accentuated on his sweaty skin and  he feels it on his lips when he bites him and licks the last drops of blood on his wound.

When he finishes training, still with his heart racing Chanhee can hear his heartbeat even from a distance, he hears how Sunwoo's whole body fills with blood for him to be fed by him.

There's something exciting about Sunwoo enjoying getting bitten as much as Chanhee enjoys eating from him.

Knowing that as he stands in the stands waiting for practice to end only to sneak into the locker room to kiss and bite him before heading off to study in his apartment has him spiraling into madness.

Chanhee loves these meetings. He loves that Sunwoo looks up at the bleachers for approval when he makes a particularly good play, and he loves that Sunwoo drinks water every ten minutes just to go over and say something to him.

He loves spending time with Sunwoo, and he's always looking for excuses to see him.

Now that he feeds from him often, every other day, Chanhee tries to be especially careful not to take too much of Sunwoo's blood so that he can safely recover it. He trys.

Still, they've both found that if Chanhee bites gently, without drawing more than a gulp of blood from him during those days where he's not really hungry, it makes him feel much more energetic and healthy than if he goes the whole day without eating. And at the same time, Sunwoo doesn't lose a substantial amount of blood to worry about.

do it at a guess

So that’s how things work for now, Chanhee bites him every other day or so where he gets the same amount of blood as he would get during a blood donation (measured at a guess because he’s not really calculating when he’s biting him) and then in between those days Chanhee would also bite him lightly without sucking much of him. Sunwoo called it “bloody shot” because of the amount of blood in this bite, and even though Chanhee said it wasn’t funny, they continued calling it that ever since.

Life goes on as if they had always done this and Sunwoo is more than satisfied by that. Chanhee is healthy, he himself is healthy, this is all he needs.

Sunwoo is in his own dorm resting after his last exam of the week when he hears a knock on his door, believing it to be Jaehyun who was also taking his last exam at this time of the morning, he opens the door only to be met by Chanhee.

As if it were a reflex he says “what are you doing here?”

“A hi would be nice to say hello, rude” chanhee scolds him, Sunwoo snorts in response “i missed you”

“You're lying right now” says Sunwoo.

“Yes I am” Chanhee never stops smiling, he spreads the smile to Sunwoo “I just wanted to know how you were after your exam and maybe I could get a meal, I’m kind of hungry, that’s all”

Sunwoo stops for a few seconds to study Chanhee. He can see he’s a bit tired and nervous but it could be a result of the early schedule he’s not used to.

It's hotter than it should be for this time of year, Sunwoo hasn't stopped sweating since he woke up, without even a fan to help him cope with the unexpectedly high temperatures.

Although Chanhee isn't affected by the temperature, he is affected by the strong sun shining above their heads. He must be really hungry to come there in the morning with the day as hot as it is.

Chanhee walks into the bedroom and sits on Sunwoo's bed. Sunwoo's bedroom is by far much smaller than Chanhee's, starting with the fact that Chanhee's apartment is a three-room apartment while Sunwoo's room barely had room for the bed and a small desk. These are the advantages of saving for 3 decades.

And Sunwoo had been lucky when it came to room assignments, he got the room with a bathroom and only had Jaehyun as a roommate. He tries to remind himself that some less fortunate people have the same space with up to four roommates.

“How was your exam?” Chanhee asks.

“The exam went well, it was the easiest one I’ve taken until now and I studied a lot so I’m confident. I just have to wait for them to send me the grade” Sunwoo says, taking a place next to Chanhee, lying on the bed directing all his attention to Chanhee, who remains seated with his legs crossed at the foot of the bed.

“Did they tell you when they’re going to send it to you?”

“They said in a week, but there weren’t many of us taking the exam, so they’ll probably be ready before Friday.”

They continue chatting for a long time as they get comfortable. Sunwoo is almost asleep in his spot after a few minutes, and how can you blame him when it’s the first breath of peace after intense weeks of studying and exams and training for the end of the season.

Chanhee kicks him pointedly as Sunwoo is falling asleep, waking up instantly.

“Don’t go to sleep, I still have to eat.”

“How come you’re so mean to me when I’m practically your daily meal, you should worship me,” Sunwoo whines, now massaging the spot on his ankle where Chanhee kicked him. It’s going to leave a bruise, he’s sure of it.

“I'm good to you when you're not falling asleep while I'm talking to you”

“I want to sleep dude” he's acting out like a child, hitting his pillow and even kicking a little.

“Let me eat and then you can sleep” Chanhee negotiates with him.

“Whatever, but stay with me while I sleep”

“To watch you sleep? Don’t be a creepy” Sunwoo assumes that chanhee wants to sound like he’s really disgusted by it but he can still hear the affection seeping into his voice.

“You can bite me to survive but I can’t ask for a hug because it’s weird? I see how it is…”

“Stop joking, I’ll hug you if you want, let me eat first”

Sunwoo agrees. Sunwoo would have agreed even if Chanhee left after without staying to sleep, but he doesn’t have to know that.

Chanhee crawls over his body until she’s on his lap, both legs caging Sunwoo. He has no choice but to let his hands wander over Chanhee’s thighs.

The vampire takes his time this time instead of being rushed and needy like he always is when he's hungry, running his fingers through his hair and nuzzling Sunwoo's neck.

Sunwoo is drifting off to sleep until he wakes up to the pain of the bite above his collarbone.

His body is heavy and he feels too tired to react to Chanhee's cold body against his.

He quickly starts to feel dizzy, unlike the pleasure he usually feels, Sunwoo feels his stomach churn but he can't help himself from warning Chanhee that I think we should stop, I don't feel well.

In fact, he can't do anything when the door to his bedroom suddenly opens. There, the figure of Jaehyun and Juyeon stare in disbelief at their position.

Chanhee separated from Sunwoo's shoulder as soon as he heard the door, however, there is nothing he can do to hide the evidence, red eyes, fangs out, still cornered with his body and blood staining both his lips and Sunwoo's shoulder.

He tries to sit up in bed but as soon as he lifts his head off the pillow his vision becomes blurry accompanied by black spots that cloud his vision.

The next thing he knows, he has lost all consciousness.

He wakes up still in his bed, incredibly dizzy, with Jaehyun's murmurs coming from the other side of the room.

Though to be fair, the other side of the room is literally the door to the room where Jaehyun is talking on the phone.

He doesn't notice it at first, and Sunwoo doesn't make himself noticeable, still trying to get his head together.

“I think he woke up, I’ll call you later” Jaehyun says still on the phone but now with his eyes on Sunwoo, hangs up once you get close to him “How are you feeling? You surprised me”

Sunwoo is so confused right now.

“I think I’m okay, I just feel a little dizzy” he says as he tries to sit up on the bed but Jaehyun stops him by the shoulders and pushes him back to his initial position.

“It's better if you stay lying down until we know what happened” he explains “what do you remember?”

“I remember lying down with Chanhee and then you came in and then I passed out” Sunwoo answers shortly.

He wasn't sure how much Jaehyun knew or rather how much Jaehyun found out by catching him red-handed. Chanhee was obviously biting him, it's not like he could hide that. He brings a hand to his shoulder where the wound is not only no longer bleeding but is clean and poorly bandaged.

He sees Jaehyun watching the movement of his hand and fears the worst. In the worst case scenario, Jaehyun freaks out and walks away from Sunwoo for the rest of his life.

Sunwoo just hopes that he's willing to listen to him, although he thinks that if he's stayed to wait for him to wake up, it's a good sign.

“Did you bandage my shoulder?”

“Yeah, I didn’t want it to get infected or something.”

Sunwoo wants to tell him that Chanhee’s bites actually heal faster than average wounds and there’s no risk of infection but he keeps quiet.

“So…”

Jaehyun interrupts him. “I know Chanhee is a vampire,” he spits out, more calmly than he should. “Juyeon dropped him off at his apartment just now, but I wanted to stay to, you know, find out why you passed out. Have you been eating well these days-”

“What do you mean you knew?”

Sunwoo himself took the news of Chanhee's immortal status quite well but even he spent at least ten minutes without believing a single word Chanhee said, he even forced him to give him proof! Why is Jaehyun, who is much more distrustful of everything, so calm about it?

We're talking about the man who doesn't believe in astrology just saying that he knows his friend is a vampire as if it were a universal truth.

Unless Sunwoo has been passed out for hours during the day, Jaehyun digested the news, however there's nothing that indicates it that way.

“I mean, there aren't many options when the guy was sucking your blood dude” says Jaehyun.

Did Sunwoo faint and travel to another dimension?

“Why aren't you going crazy?!”

Jaehyun looks him straight in the eyes, raises an eyebrow in his direction and more seriously than ever says “Do you want me to do it?”

“No! But you should” his voice is rising, he genuinely thinks he’s gone crazy, he’s delirious from fainting.

“Sunwoo” Jaehyun’s voice sounds tired, like a mother scolding her son for the exact same thing for too long in a row “I’m too tired to have this conversation about accepting that vampires exist and all that, I already did it years ago, can we just skip this and tell me if you ate anything today?”

“i- you- no, I haven't eaten anything yet, what do you mean years ago?

“Did you have anything to drink?” he answers with another question but when Sunwoo doesn't answer he adds “yes, when you found out that there were years ago, pay attention to me”

He is indeed paying close attention to him.

How did Jaehyun already know years ago that vampires exist?

How did he know and never tell Sunwoo?

“I didn’t take anything, I had an exam and I fell asleep so I didn’t eat to save time. Wait, why did you find out years ago? How?”

“You didn’t eat anything all day and you didn’t drink anything and then you let your boyfriend take your blood in this heat? I have to ask, are you really an idiot?”

“He is not my boyfriend!”

Jaehyun doesn’t seem to be really angry even though his frown says otherwise. He leans his hip against the small desk filled with books, papers and notebooks, evidence of weeks of studying.

“Are you stupid? You were dehydrated and hadn't eaten, of course you were going to faint! You moron, fucking dumbass, be more careful!” He sounds more and more angry and he has reason to be, Sunwoo had been careless and negligent with his health this time.

But it's a little late to regret now.

“Can you answer my questions now?”

Jaehyun stops telling him off only to sigh as if Sunwoo's doubts are a nuisance, he even rolls his eyes.

Rude.

“Do you remember like two years ago when i started dating Juyeon and we had a huge fight” Sunwoo nods, listening “Well, we didn’t really fight, I found out by chance that it was… you know , I freaked out and ignored him for weeks that the idiot didn't eat so he almost died, again”

“You’re kidding, right?” Jaehyun shakes his head slightly.

Is everyone here a vampire and Sunwoo didn’t know? What other mythological creature was on campus and he had no idea?

“He doesn’t look like it” is all he can think of to say in response “You never told me”

“Well” Jaehyun says now with a smug smile that Sunwoo simply hates “You didn’t tell me about Chanhee”

He has a point here.

He can't do anything about claiming that Jaehyun had hidden this from him when he himself was hiding the same thing for weeks.

Sunwoo will have to talk further about this with Jaehyun and no doubt Juyeon as well.

Now though he would like to talk to Chanhee.

“Where is he?”

“Chanhee? He was having a nervous breakdown, I guess he got scared that we would find him, Juyeon had to go with him to his apartment because he couldn’t calm down”

It’s a more than obvious reason to run away, Sunwoo can’t imagine being in the same position as Chanhee when suddenly two people (who, let’s be honest, he’s also been keeping his biggest secret from) find you biting a boy who faints three seconds later.

They were lucky that the ones who found him were Jaehyun and Juyeon instead of anyone else who doesn't know anything about vampires in general.

Sunwoo wishes he hadn't fainted then things would have been different for Chanhee. He probably could have calmed him down, it would have been a calm conversation similar to the one they had that first night.

He can't blame him for reacting the way he did (actually Sunwoo can't do that either because he doesn't know exactly how Chanhee reacted either), he doesn't think he could have reacted better in his place.

He can't help but feel guilty. It was his fault in a way. It could have all been avoided if he had just eaten something in the morning. It could have been avoided if he had told Chanhee that he hadn't eaten.

Sunwoo knows that Chanhee must be eating away at his own head from a guilt that isn't even his. He knows him well enough to know that he must be blaming himself for insisting on biting him when Sunwoo was so tired.

“I have to talk to him.”

“Text him, I'll go get you something to eat,” Jaehyun replies, having left his spot by the desk to leave the room in search of food.

“I have to.”

Jaehyun interrupts him with a tone of voice that shows that this isn't really a negotiation “No, you have to eat, then you two talk”

Jaehyun doesn't waste any time with a response when he's already gone and closes the door behind him.

Why is everything always a mess?

If Sunwoo thought Chanhee had been ignoring him before, he had no idea what it was really like to be ignored by Choi Chanhee.

Sunwoo sends him repeated messages, many messages asking how he feels but he doesn't answer any of them.

That's a lie. Chanhee does answer his first messages, although Sunwoo hoped it was all a bad dream.

from: sunwoo

hey i talked to jaehyun but he didn't say much, is everything okay?

from: channie

something like that, i had something like a panic attack and i couldn't breathe so Juyeon walked me to my apartment

from: sunwoo

alright

wanna grab some coffee tmrw and talk about it?

maybe it will make you feel better

Chanhee doesn't answer for a while and Sunwoo speaks again.

from: sunwoo

or maybe not but i still think we should talk

we can work on this together

Chanhee doesn't answer him either but he leaves him on read for a few hours and when Sunwoo is about to get desperate and go straight to his apartment and force him to talk, he finally answers him.

from: channie

i actually think we should stop seeing eo

it was all a pretty stupid and dangerous idea, we can still be friends but we should take distance for a while until everything clears up and we can be normal

i really like you sunwoo but what happened today is proof that we should have never started doing this to begin with and i don't want to put you at risk again

please don't come to my house for a while and respect my decision

As you can imagine, Sunwoo doesn't give a shit about all of that.

Of course he respects all of her decisions and opinions. Not this one.

Being friends? Hell no, Sunwoo can't just be friends with Chanhee after everything that's happened. Yes, of course it was a stupid and dangerous decision and they probably should have been more careful, but that doesn't mean that Sunwoo wouldn't make the same stupid and dangerous decision again.

Also, what is Chanhee's plan supposed to be, to find another human who isn't Sunwoo to bite and survive?

If the last few weeks together (dating? getting to know each other?) have proven anything, it's that Chanhee won't survive without human blood, for God's sake, he bites Sunwoo every other day because he's hungry. There's no way he'll go more than 3 days without needing it again.

What will he do when he needs it? Find another friend willing to be his food? Is he going to bite Changmin?

What if he doesn't find anyone to bite?

The idea of Chanhee just going around campus biting random people is almost as hare-brained as the possibility that he doesn't.

Chanhee is doing this to protect Sunwoo (which he himself doesn't understand, it wasn't even Chanhee's fault to begin with) from something that isn't even a danger to his health.

He still tries to respect Chanhee's boundaries but only manages to do so for two hours, when he realizes that chanhee must think Sunwoo is scared or something.

He sends him a couple of texts that Chanhee doesn't bother to look at and when that doesn't work I try to call him but he doesn't answer either.

He's calling him for the fourth time that day when a robotic voice on the other end of the phone tells him you can't make calls to this number because you've been blocked.

Sunwoo is getting desperate, he's about to send him a message through all the available media of communication but decides that it's just not the way.

The idea is that Chanhee actually listens to him, pouncing on all his social media wouldn't make Chanhee listen to him.

The next day he decides to go to Chanhee's place even though he told him not to, Sunwoo is convinced that Chanhee was just saying those things under the premise that he had hurt him (it's not like that) and that getting away is the best for him (it's not like that neither).

Anyway, Chanhee isn't there.

Changmin opens the door and first looks confused and then sorry for him.

“Chanhee isn't here” he says without greeting him.

The hopeless expression on Sunwoo's face must be evident.

“Where is she then?”

“She went to visit her mom at the nursing home, he'll be back in two days”

“Is her mom in a nursing home?”

“Of course she’s in a nursing home, she’s almost 80 and can’t walk”

Right.

The reminder that Chanhee isn’t twenty and has actually lived twice as long as anyone else is a little scary.

It must be scary for Chanhee too, he thinks for a second, watching all his friends and family live, grow up and die.

For the amount of time vampires live Chanhee is young, technically in his fifties which is a believable human age, though not for how he looks.

He remembers Chanhee explaining something to him about how the understanding of time gets distorted once it has no end. Being immortal, while great for many things, is a problem with too many technicalities for modern life.

First, the already existing fake birth certificate, then the fact that people would notice that he's not aging can raise a lot of suspicions.

There's also the fact that Chanhee isn't technically twenty and that technically, their age difference is bigger than it seems.

Sunwoo once asked him about it and Chanhee gave a very long answer about the psychological and philosophical components of being immortal and how it prolongs mental maturation to unconscious levels.

Then he gave a much more scientific and medical explanation of how, even though his brain is dead, it doesn't age completely even though it works properly.

Although Changmin is kind and invites him in, without Chanhee, Sunwoo has nothing to do there so he returned to his apartment with the simple advice to give Chanhee time and let him say things before speaking.

Sunwoo was impatient and nervous and didn't want to wait, he did it anyway.

For two days.

Chanhee hasn't unlocked it from anywhere but he doesn't think appearing out of nowhere in his apartment will work either so he stays in his own room with Jaehyun and Juyeon to think about what to do.

Juyeon also answers all the vampire questions that Sunwoo asks him.

It turns out that Juyeon comes from a long line of vampires (what the fuck) that for centuries and centuries has maintained a lineage of pure-blooded vampires, that is, those who are not converted to be vampires.

He is almost two hundred years old but says he doesn't know the number because he stopped counting after the first world war (again, what the fuck).

The most interesting thing about that conversation is not the amount of historical data he knows from experience but the information about his diet.

Juyeon's mother, a forensic doctor with four hundred years of experience, sends him blood monthly.

Needless to say, Sunwoo laughed the first time he heard it, that was the plot of Twilight.

Despite the irony, it was true and incredibly functional.

Apparently many vampires were into medicine, they had easy access to blood, especially in forensic medicine where there were no patients who could give them away.

Juyeon's mother, however, had found more benefits in the morgue.

Preparing bodies that would soon be burned or buried was a much abundant and easier source of food to obtain considering the amount of people who die every day.

It's probably super illegal, but there are no laws protecting vampires, so they have to go with this.

So yeah, Juyeon just gets at least two gallons of blood delivered to his doorstep once a month and avoids the complications of biting live people.

(“Wait, so you don’t bite Jaehyun?”

“Of course I do, but I don’t need it to live”

“Man, I’m gonna need your mom’s number”)

He can't get distracted from Chanhee even during the whole conversation where Juyeon talks about the consequences of Ebola fever.

Anyway, it's very interesting.

Finally, on the third day of not having news from Chanhee, Sunwoo starts to think about suicide.

He misses him too much and loves him too much to be pushy and annoying about it because he genuinely doesn't think that getting angry at Chanhee is going to make him want to listen to his point of view but he actually doesn't think there's any way Chanhee will want to listen to his point of view.

He starts to lose his temper and reconsiders the first plan of just showing up at his apartment unannounced as part of an ambush.

“Why do you think he ignores you?” Juyeon asks him that same afternoon while resting in the park while Sunwoo eats an ice cream.

Sunwoo discovered through Juyeon that vampires are not weak to light if they feed on enough blood to stay strong and healthy. Apparently the blood that Sunwoo gave Chanhee was not enough, that was the reason why the sun weakened him and his need for blood three times a week.

If Chanhee started drinking more blood, he would also become healthier.

(Sunwoo can't help but get a little jealous thinking that he's not the only one Chanhee needs, but he buries those pathetic and unnecessary feelings as deep as he can)

“Knowing him, he thinks he’s doing me a favor by not involving me with him because he thinks he hurt me,” Sunwoo says, not taking his eyes off his half-melted ice cream in his cone. Since that day, the temperature hasn’t dropped.

“He’s kind of right,” Juyeon replies, drinking blood straight from a box of grape juice to cover up. “He’s doing you a favor by not involving you in this.”

“Whose side are you on? I thought I was your friend?” Sunwoo grumbles.

“I’m still on your side, you should definitely talk about this because he didn’t hurt you this time but there’s always the possibility” says Juyeon, sucking the last drops of blood from the plastic box and then putting it in his backpack and throwing it in the trash when he gets home.

“How can you say that when you bite Jaehyun too?” he accuses him, somewhat annoyed with this double standard that Juyeon suddenly had.

Chanhee can't bite him but Juyeon could bite his partner? What was even the difference?

“Yes I do, but once in a while and never because I’m hungry,” he explains without losing the soft tone that characterizes him. “Besides, I say this because I understand Chanhee. I would be terrified of biting Jaehyun when I was hungry and hurting him. He did it three times a week, controlling himself like a madman. I couldn’t do it.”

Sunwoo hadn’t thought of it that way. Being around a hungry Chanhee always feels like he’s not trying.

He now realizes that he was probably a lot hungrier than he let on so as not to push Sunwoo’s limits.

"We are natural hunters" he adds under Sunwoo's watchful gaze "We are not supposed to control ourselves when we are hungry, I'm not sure if it's because he's converted and that changes something, but I know that if I were him I wouldn't have been able to contain me as much as he did"

“Have you ever bitten any other human besides Jaehyun?” Juyeon doesn’t answer Sunwoo right away, thinking carefully.

“Once, it was so long ago anyway so I don’t remember it in detail but I just remember hating it, you know? As I said, I don’t know a lot of how it is for converted vampires but we can smell fear, evolution didn’t take that ability away even if we don’t hunt anymore. I could perfectly smell the fear in the girl I bit and I never did it again.”

Sunwoo can tell that Juyeon actually remembers what happened and he just doesn’t want to talk about it, so he doesn’t ask any more questions about it and enjoys the silence.

And because Sunwoo enjoyed being bitten too much to refuse or stop it.

Chanhee thought he had taken advantage of Sunwoo, considering him a poor, hopeless human who doesn't know what he's doing. Ultimately, Sunwoo knew what he was doing, he himself had pushed Chanhee to bite him the first time.

And he wasn't an idiot either, he knew that Chanhee needed him to eat, in some way he himself is more responsible than Chanhee for the mess they had gotten themselves into.

Even if Chanhee likes to portray Sunwoo as the absolute victim of the situation, he would never have agreed to bite him if Sunwoo didn't offer in the first place.

“I guess he wouldn't have.”

In his defense, Sunwoo wasn't looking for Chanhee when he found him.

He wishes this was a metaphor for how he's been slowly falling in love with someone he's known for years, but instead it's a literal description of the events.

The next day, Chanhee hasn't unblocked him from any social media and Sunwoo is starting to think about how much space is enough space without coming up with any other answer than that he should tie Chanhee to a chair to force him to listen to why his reasoning is stupid.

So he goes to a coffee shop to buy an iced americano with double the amount of sugar medically approved to deal with his anxiety.

He doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings when a familiarly cold body pushes him from behind.

The first thing Sunwoo sees when he turns around is an upset Chanhee, looking very tired as if trying to hide his annoyance. Then behind Chanhee he sees two children of about seven years old fighting each other while the mother apologized profusely to Chanhee and Sunwoo.

He doesn't have time to give a proper response to the clearly exhausted mother when Chanhee captures all of his attention.

He has deep, dark circles under his eyes, too much so considering he doesn't really need to sleep. He's a bit pale and although he's dressed nicely as usual he doesn't seem to have put any effort into his hair or makeup this time.

Either way he looks beautiful.

Sunwoo’s heart tightens as he notices that Chanhee looks just as ethereal as ever no matter how exhausted every pore of his body looks.

“I- I'm so sorry I didn’t realize it was you, it’ll be better if I leave…” Chanhee says.

Sunwoo acts too quickly so Chanhee can guess his movements as he grabs his wrist and pulls him back to himself.

“We need to talk,” he says, and Chanhee manages to look even more tired at that response.

“I don’t think that..”

“It wasn’t a question” is the most demanding his voice has ever sounded directed at Chanhee.

He wastes no time shooing them both out of line so as not to get in the way of anyone who actually wants to get a drink.

Chanhee easily agrees to someone who had been ignoring Sunwoo so vigorously for the past few days. Maybe it's because he knows that this is actually a necessary conversation or maybe because he knows that he can't run away from Sunwoo forever.

Sunwoo doesn't know the reason but he's thankful that it's that way.

"Just not here please"

They go to Chanhee's apartment.

First of all, because it's closer than Sunwoo's and also because, in reality, even though Sunwoo said they were going to talk, he knows perfectly well that they're going to discuss about vampires. And even though they could go to an empty park, it's better not to take risks about who can hear and who can't.

Neither of them speaks to the other, Sunwoo is grateful because he has his whole speech stuck in the middle of his throat about why walking away is stupid and useless .

He takes advantage of the walk to think of what to say but when they get to the apartment Sunwoo has already forgotten most of it so he improvises as soon as they enter.

“Why don’t you want to see me anymore?” bad start, he’ll have to make it work.

“I think it’s obvious why” Chanhee is hanging his coat on a hanger by the door.

Now, without the people and the street noise, he can hear the vampire's voice better, empty of energy.

"I want to hear it then" Sunwoo may be angrier than he had felt during all these days, unloading all those feelings that he didn't allow himself to feel before now and in the worst way.

Chanhee sighs, watching him intently, he goes to his own kitchen and comes back with a snack for Sunwoo.

“I don’t want to eat, I want you to tell me the truth” he replies, pushing the arm that is extended to him away with disdain.

“God, why do you have to make it so difficult all the time!” Chanhee screams in exasperation, Sunwoo wants to scream from the bottom of his lungs that it’s not his fault that Chanhee is acting like a fool.

Chanhee's apartment is colder than usual, and even though the daylight comes through the window illuminating the room, Sunwoo feels like it's dark.

He realizes that choosing a private place for this conversation was the right choice when Chanhee throws the snack pack on the coffee table with a fury he's never seen before. Not at him.

“I just want to talk,” Sunwoo says, trying his best to keep his tone low. Yelling at each other won’t make things better. “Just tell me why.”

“I can’t believe you’re asking me why ,” Chanhee’s laugh is so full of sarcasm that it burns. “You passed out while I was biting you and I couldn’t even react rationally. How am I supposed to help you if it happens again?”

“Who says it will happen again? It was hot and I forgot to eat properly. That's why I fainted, it was probably even because of the fear of seeing Jaehyun there, it has nothing to do with you or the bite!” he can't help but scream, Chanhee, as always, matches his energy and screams back too.

“Who cares why you passed out! I should have helped you and I couldn't hold back myself, it was dangerous!”

“It wasn't! Nothing went wrong, I wasn't unconscious for even four minutes straight.”

“I couldn’t help!” Chanhee screams louder than he intends, he’s breathing heavily on the other side of the couch. Sunwoo has to pinch himself to keep from coming over and taking care of him. “Yeah, you passed out for less than four minutes and I couldn’t do anything to help you besides cry.”

The previous fury in his voice dissolves into something softer and even disappointed.

“I don't care, in your place I would have-”

Chanhee interrupts him “But I care” at Sunwoo’s lack of response Chanhee continues, approaching him with slow steps “I had that panic attack and Jaehyun had to pull me off of you because I couldn’t move, I was in the hallway crying without being able to calm down for almost twenty minutes until I could walk and Juyeon brought me home, and I know it’s a normal response to fear and I’m not guilty of anything that happened, but if it were to happen again, how am I supposed to take care of you if I’m paralyzed with fear again?”

Chanhee stops his steps right in front of Sunwoo, takes a seat on the old sofa, Sunwoo imitates him. Both are much calmer now.

“You don’t have to take care of me”

“You take care of me all the time and I couldn’t even think of asking you how you felt for thinking about your blood” Sunwoo thinks he heard Chanhee release a laugh full of irony.

“I take care of you because I want to, none of this means we should stop seeing each other or even stop biting me, let's just be more careful”

“You don't get it Sunwoo” Chanhee now looks into his eyes, a trace of passion in them and a dark red staining them gives him chills all down his spine, Sunwoo has to put all his willpower to pay attention to the conversation and nothing else “When I tell you I'm hungry I mean really hungry

“I get that-”

“No, you do not. I mean I only think about biting you, all the time, at every opportunity. I can’t focus on anything but your blood when you’re near me while I’m hungry and it’s been crazy hard for me to stay sane every time you let me bite you so I don’t overstep any limit, because I want to bite you right in the neck and take all the blood I want from you ” Chanhee blinks and his brown eyes are back “But if that means hurting you I don’t want to do it”

“We can fix it… somehow” Sunwoo says, trying to be optimistic for both of their sakes.

“Hear me when I say this, I can’t think straight when you’re around me, it’s not that I don’t want to see you, it’s that actually seeing you and not biting you is akin to medieval torture right now, I’m saying this for your sake, step back

He hates himself for not being able to see a problem in it.

He's overreacting, he sees the problem but can't find it in him to care on an emotional level. For him, Chanhee has every right to do with his blood whatever he wants.

Clearly, he can't say that to the vampire unless he wants to argue with him again.

“Look,” Chanhee says, accepting Sunwoo’s silence as an answer, “I like you, I really do, but a relationship doesn’t survive on love alone, that’s because I asked for time, until it’s safe for both of us.”

“Are you hungry now?” Sunwoo asks, ignoring Chanhee’s last words, determined to find any solution to be close to him.

“No, Changmin broke into the medical labs and stole a bunch of blood samples and extractions for me, so I’m relatively fine for now,” he sighs, as if remembering the fact made him tired.

Chanhee can imagine the same sigh directed at Changmin when he came home with a bunch of blood samples in his backpack, trying to help his dying friend.

“How did he do it?”

“I’m not sure I want to know,” Chanhee’s voice softens around the last syllable, even his eyes fill with affection as he thinks of his friend.

Sunwoo wants to laugh too, it was probably just as hard for Changmin as it was for him to see Chanhee suffer.

Then, as if a light bulb went on above his head like in a cartoon, he remembers.

Juyeon receives blood from his mother.

“Wait, we can talk to Juyeon for the blood” he says, happily forgetting the previous discussion completely.

They can revisit the topic when they know that no one’s health is at risk.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Chanhee, on the other hand, didn’t seem as cheerful.

“Juyeon’s mother sends him blood monthly, from the morgue where she works,” he says, without missing a beat or the excitement.

Chanhee's face becomes more and more confused as the conversation progresses. "I don't understand a word you're saying."

"Juyeon is a vampire too, his family is, they send him blood that his mom gets from the morgue." Sunwoo watches as understanding hits Chanhee little by little and then surprise floods his face. "Didn't he tell you after I fainted?"

Sunwoo barely has a chance to avoid the decorative pillow coming at his face. “Of course not! Why would he tell me that?!” Chanhee is screaming but unlike before his anger isn’t deep now.

“I don’t know, creating a vampire bond, I thought he told you that!”

“I just had a fucking panic attack! Why would he want to talk about blood?! I didn’t even know I was a vampire.”

“Why are you hitting me!?” Sunwoo isn’t so lucky to dodge the new pillow heading towards his face. Since when does Chanhee have so many decorative pillows on his couch?

“Why didn’t you tell me before, I’ve been hungry!”

“You blocked me!” Sunwoo says stopping Chanhee’s arm that was holding a pillow in the air “and I thought you knew” he adds, snatching the padded object from the vampire’s hands.

Chanhee looks much calmer now at least when he says “Next time we argue you have to come here if i block you”

“I did it!”

“Do it better then”

It's amazing, in the bad way of saying it. If Sunwoo wasn't so tired of being angry, he might go back to fighting with Chanhee about it.

“This is perfect Chanhee, if we talk to Juyeon then you don't have to worry about being hungry”

“We don't know if he's going to say yes” Chanhee objects with his well-known distrust.

Sunwoo is an optimist, he knows he is, just as he knows Chanhee tends to be the opposite, expecting the worst of the worst.

But Sunwoo also knows Juyeon, he's not being a blind optimist when he says he can count on him on this. He lets Chanhee know that.

“I'll talk to him, trust me” sounds more emotionally charged than he intends, even as they sit side by side on the couch, Chanhee gives him his heart through his eyes.

Chanhee nods softly, moving closer and closer to Sunwoo. “I will.” He’s not even looking at him in the eyes when he answers, all his attention on his lips.

The air between them changes, or maybe it just does for Sunwoo when he ends the distance and leans in to kiss Chanhee’s lips.

It’s like a movie kiss, he feels Chanhee melt against him and he has to put his hands on the sides of his face to keep him close, Chanhee’s hands holding onto his neck.

The kiss is slow, almost romantic, his tongue caresses Chanhee's lips asking for permission and the vampire doesn't hesitate when he answers with his mouth open, their tongues tangle and Chanhee slowly leans on Sunwoo's body, almost resting on his lap.

They don't separate for a second, although his lungs burn from the lack of air, Sunwoo holds the vampire even tighter against him.

Chanhee gasps against his mouth, her touches becoming more deliberate and bolder as she pulls him in. Sunwoo was sure he wasn't the only one feeling the change in the air anymore.

He takes Chanhee's mouth like it belongs to him, kissing hard and passionately as he does his best not to move an inch away from his body as he stumbles into the vampire's room.

It doesn't take long for them to get there, he's memorized this path so many times over the past few weeks that he doesn't have to force himself to follow it.

Chanhee wraps his hands in Sunwoo's long hair at the back of his head, tugging and ruffling it, pushing his head into the best possible angle to kiss him, seeking closer proximity, as if that were even possible.

Holding Chanhee by the waist just to press their torsos together, Sunwoo can hear him moan right into his mouth as he scratches his back, squeezing the mounds of his spine with his fingertips.

“You’re so pretty,” he says, panting more than speaking.

“Shut up” but Sunwoo can see the blush rising to his ears.

Chanhee pulls the border of his shirt in a clear sign of please take this off quickly . Sunwoo obeys without wasting time in mocking Chanhee for being so desperate, he will have time for that later.

Sunwoo takes off Chanhee's shirt as quickly as he gets rid of his own. He plays with Chanhee's pants waist but before he can take it off, the vampire pushes him with more force than expected.

Sunwoo falls on his back on Chanhee's bed where he has been many times before, all those times he was much more dressed and with other intentions than the current one.

“You’ve been thinking about doing that haven’t you?” Sunwoo scoffs as Chanhee kneels between his legs and undoes the zipper of his pants so fast that Sunwoo barely notices.

“You have no idea” Chanhee says as Sunwoo lifts his hips to help the vampire get rid of his pants.

Chanhee hooks his thumb into the boxers, pulling them down along with his pants. His clothes bunched around his ankles, completely naked in Chanhee's cold room he feels his member twitch, even more so when the vampire wraps his cold hand around its base and he can't help but hiss.

“I didn't do anything”

“I know” he answers “I was surprised by the cold”

Chanhee hesitates for a few seconds, almost laughing at Sunwoo's reaction but slowly places his hands around the base of his cock again, slowly massaging Sunwoo's half erection that soon becomes a full one.

Chanhee's skilled fingers warm at the touch of their skin, his hands playing across Sunwoo's thighs holding him firmly in place. Sunwoo does his best to keep from letting out every noise threatening to come out of his mouth. He doesn't quite manage it if Chanhee's laughter means anything to him.

He can't complain about it when he feels something warm and wet around the head of his cock and down the shaft. The blood rushes so fast to his cock that he thinks he's unable to think properly with the lack of blood in his brain.

His whole body burns with desire and desperation as he looks down at the floor and Chanhee was enveloping him in her mouth, making her tongue play with the slit of his cock. The image is pornographic, straight out of his most adventurous dreams.

It was slow, too slow for Sunwoo's taste, getting used to his own quick and efficient hand. Chanhee takes his time, filling his cock with saliva and licking the tip like it was ice cream, looking straight into his eyes just to tease him.

Chanhee, unable to keep his hands to himself, caresses his thighs and hips with his fingertips, undecided between holding his cock with both hands or freeing one to touch him. One of his hands decides to grab onto his hip again and the other wanders over his abs, along the side of his cock and finally rests on his balls to carelessly massage them.

His vision blurs and he moves his hips forward unconsciously, when he brings his eyes to Chanhee the apology gets stuck between his teeth, Chanhee keeps his cock in her mouth but frowns at him as if scolding him for moving, adjusting his grip to prove a point.

Sunwoo can't look at him for long, eyes shining with tears from Chanhee, lips red from use, swollen, stained by saliva and who knows if something else.

Chanhee was a sin without the red cheeks and the hair disheveled between his fingers, he already drove Sunwoo crazy without the blush on his chest and the pleasant expression on his face.

Oblivious to Sunwoo’s thoughts, he takes him all the way into his mouth, until he feels the head touch the top of his throat. With no gag reflex, Chanhee sucks, hollowing his cheeks and bringing his head back and forth. Sunwoo doesn’t tangle his fingers in the pink hair, trying his best not to push him away, losing his mind when Chanhee moans even with his cock in her mouth and he can’t help but howl pathetically.

“Fuck, you’re so good” Chanhee sucks him like it’s the greatest pleasure of his life, dedicated only to this, Sunwoo is going to have a fucking aneurysm . Chanhee is all warm, wet and tight in his mouth, taking him all the way, his legs start to shake, he doesn’t think he’ll last much longer.

“Channie, baby, we need to. Oh god, we need to stop” he’s panting, when he finishes his plea. Chanhee diligently pulls his cock out of her mouth with a pop that makes it even worse.

He takes a breath, resting his face on Sunwoo's sweaty thigh, his nose next to the pubic hair that was two days old shaved. "What's wrong?" he asks.

"I'm not going to last."

"I'll make you up again." And as if it were a promise, he pulls his tongue out of his mouth and brings it from the base all the way up to hook his head back between his lips.

Sunwoo moans again in rhythm with the movement of Chanhee's head up and down, driving his cock deeper. The sound of the slickness, the image of saliva and precum mixing together as it pools and slides from the corner of his lips.

God , Sunwoo is about to die in this bed.

"I really wanna fuck you now" he begs again, he's not going to be able to hold on if Chanhee keeps doing that and he doesn't think he can be on top again and do something that isn't pathetic.

Chanhee, thanks to whatever deity is in charge of Sunwoo's soul, releases his dick from her mouth in order to slip a hand under his bed, briefly letting go of his member to make use of the object he just found. Lube. He tosses it into Sunwoo's hand to finish undressing himself, leaving him only in a pair of boxers and nothing else.

Sunwoo has seen Chanhee hard before, he's even touched Chanhee hard before, but it's always like the very first time, he almost feels shy for being so hung up on this boy.

Chanhee takes a place on his lap, still in his boxers but with a wetness that betrays his own erection, the vampire is not affected by it when he kisses him again.

He takes control of the kiss, running his tongue along Sunwoo's teeth, intertwining their tongues and gently biting his lips in between. He presses his hips together seeking more contact and Sunwoo takes advantage of that moment to turn them into position.

Now on top of Chanhee, Sunwoo allows himself to observe Chanhee's body more closely.

Chanhee's skin is pale and smooth, his waist usually accentuated by belts and tight pants was just as pronounced when uncovered.

"You're beautiful."

His flushed face with red, bruised lips from kisses smiles at him when he realizes he's being watched.

It's not an egocentric smile like the ones he usually offers, nor is it shy. It's a smile full of confidence.

He hooks a finger into Chanhee's boxers and slides them down his legs before he can get distracted by the fluttering of his heart in his chest.

He arranges a pillow under his hip and with no clothes separating them, Sunwoo makes himself comfortable between his legs, picking up the forgotten lube and smearing the product until it drips down his fingers.

Chanhee, ever so considerate, spreads his legs as far as his muscles will allow. From this angle he sees Chanhee's hole in all its glory, he is patient with his own fingers not wanting to hurt Chanhee.

His fingers go in as slow as he can, it’s tight, so tight, only half a finger in and he can already feel Chanhee’s walls squeezing him.

The vampire moans and groans “it hurts”

“Try to relax, I’ll be careful” the warm substance on his fingers drips from the tight hole, Sunwoo’s finger drags it in, stroking circles around the hole until he slowly puts it in and pulls it out the same way, letting the lube drip from his slit until Chanhee starts to let out moans again.

“Another please”

“Sure?”

“Can i have it”

True to his words, Chanhee takes another finger from Sunwoo as he spreads his legs wider, finger toes curling, and grabs onto his shoulders, hurting them as he increases the speed of his fingers, trying to say something coherent that starts with that’s so good, keep it up and ends with I’m ready, I’m ready

Sunwoo ignores him, leaving a trail of wet kisses from his neck to his shoulders, paying special attention to his collarbones and then down to his nipples, where his tongue licks flat just to see the other's reaction. He's pleased to hear an indefensible moan so he gives all his attention to biting the nipple, playing with it between his teeth, sucking and then blowing on it just to make Chanhee squirm.

He does his best to keep up with the rhythm of his wrist continuous, alternating between spreading his fingers inside him and massaging Chanhee's inner walls until he's letting out a noise worthy of a pornographic movie.

“Oh my god, right there, fuck, fuck, fuck

“Working on it” Chanhee barely laughs with his last breath at the joke when Sunwoo obeys the request.

He adds a third finger, keeping the pressure of his fingertips on that spot he knows well himself. When he slows down the movement of his wrist being constant in the place his fingers hit every time they are inserted deeply, Chanhee is falling apart in the sheets, shaking and arching his back so much that sunwoo thinks it will hurt tomorrow.

Knowing Chanhee is close, he is quick to remove his fingers from Chanhee's entrance.

Chanhee's moan of protest is not unexpected but is soon forgotten when Sunwoo grabs his thighs in order to lift his legs up to get comfortable between them.

Chanhee, humming holding his own thighs to keep himself open for him as the head of his cock drags through the crevices of his hole, playing with his patience.

Chanhee is already so fucked out that when he really gets inside he doesn't moan, he breathes deeply with his mouth open, absent-mindedly, bringing his hands from her thighs closer to her butt cheeks to open himself up completely.

Skimming the edges of it with his thumb as he is getting deeper inside could just do it for Chanhee. As Sunwoo pushes himself inside he has to breathe deeper and deeper until he stops at the end.

“God, why are you so big?” Chanhee says breathlessly, gasping to be filled with air.

To be fair, Sunwoo isn’t big, maybe he’s above average yes, but he’s never considered himself big until now.

“Do i?”

“Yes, oh god, you’re filling me up to my belly”

Then Sunwoo sees on Chanhee’s belly a small bump where his cock stretches it. He doesn’t try hard to hold back the groan that escapes at the image, Chanhee is so tight with the stretching of his fingers and everything, it almost hurts to be inside him as much as it drives him crazy. He’s holding himself back but he’s close to breaking just from this.

He searches for some support on Chanhee’s face to find that Chanhee is already looking at him.

Sunwoo has always been able to read Chanhee like a book with just his gaze. For weeks now, every time they look at each other, Sunwoo can only see affection in them. Now there’s that in them but there’s more too, eyes burning through him, mesmerized by the space he’s buried in.

“Damn, you are tight.”

“Move” He complies with the request slowly, like he’s been doing since the beginning, like things always are between them. The sound of his cock going in and out of the wet hole is almost awful if it wasn’t just as stimulating for him. Sunwoo throws his head back for air when he feels Chanhee clench even tighter as he goes back in, holding back a moan that’s chomping to get out.

When he looks back at Chanhee he’s so fucked out he could be a picture of Sunwoo’s imagination. He’s been thinking about this for too long, about separating and opening Chanhee to tears, eating him out for hours without giving him any chance but to tremble as he brings him to the end without touching him.

He feels something like that himself now just seeing him, thinking about next time makes him feel so hot he's sweating.

“Move faster” Chanhee begged “please” he adds as an afterthought.

Who is sunwoo to disobey?

He increases the speed of his thrusts, careful not to be too rough with the vampire and not to touch his prostate until the time is right. He feels as filthy as he is desperate, dirty as he listens to Chanhee's desperate moans, who writhes in place as if nothing is enough. His dick drips sloppily onto his pelvis.

He drags his hand down Chanhee’s chest only to pinch the boy’s overstimulated nipples, he can tell Chanhee is burning from the pinch, his nipple swollen and pink from the previous abuse. Chanhee holds his wrists in place, Sunwoo can’t hold back the kiss he wants to give him.

Chanhee is so wrecked that he can’t coordinate the kiss properly, resulting in a very messy kiss, full of spit and moans. Sunwoo is trying his best to keep the rhythm steady but he’s failing, distracted by Chanhee’s reactions.

“Fuck, oh fuck” Chanhee’s voice jumps a few octaves as he moans Sunwoo acknowledges, he loves it, he wants to hear it always “God, oh God, please, can you, please

“What do you want, hum? Can you tell me what you want?” he’s being mean on purpose, he’s enjoying the drool that drips from the corners of his mouth, he’s reveling in the unfocused, tear-filled eyes Chanhee gives him, beside himself, he probably doesn’t even know what he wants.

All for him, and he hasn’t even touched him directly yet, on the edge just from being fucked like Sunwoo fucks him.

“More, I want more” Sunwoo can barely understand him, he doesn’t need an answer when Chanhee’s hands run up to his hips to emphasize his request. Sunwoo swats his hands away and repositions himself on the bed.

He rests Chanhee's legs on his shoulders and repositions the pillow under his hips, holding him by his sides he guides the thrusts, now more precisely, he can see it on Chanhee's face when he hits his prostate.

Tears run down Chanhee's eyes uncontrollably as Sunwoo penetrates him with much more impetus than before, "Do you like it?" Chanhee doesn't look at him "Tell me it's good, baby"

His own voice is deep and cherished, he pushes Chanhee to a faraway place where it's just the two of them.

"Feels good, so good" Chanhee sounds wild in his ears, gone.

His chest swells with ego and leads to a heat in his abdomen. It's delicious.

"Holy shit"

Sunwoo fills him inch by inch as he plays with his rim with his fingers, stretching it even further if possible. With his free hand he applies gentle pressure under Chanhee’s navel to increase the feeling of his cock filling every space of his hole, made for him to fill.

The sway of his hips slapping against Chanhee’s ass combined with the fluids dripping from his filled hole, the sound of slapping filling the entire room, he barely heard Chanhee’s moans between them.

“I’m close, baby” he tells Chanhee who has his eyes rolled back in his head, holding onto Sunwoo’s arms as his ground wire.

“Inside, do it inside, I’m close too”

As a signal, it only takes one, two, three, four thrusts for Chanhee to grip onto his forearms even tighter, eyes squeezing shut as he spills all over his own stomach and chest.

Chanhee is wrecked beneath Sunwoo, stained with his own cum, flushed and sweaty, fighting for air. His muscles clenching and shaking still on his shoulders as his entrance tightens around him even more, Sunwoo tenses.

“Keep going” is too much stimulation for Chanhee and yet he returns his hands to his ass to open it up for Sunwoo. The way his hole draws Sunwoo in with each decisive thrust makes him feel unbridled, Chanhee can’t stop moaning at the burning sensation, euphoria building in his brain as he nears orgasm.

He can’t hear what Chanhee mutters as the blood rushes to his ears, shivers running down his spine. He feels it spilling into Chanhee’s hole, something that’s so warm Sunwoo’s head is close to exploding.

He doesn't pull out right away, taking a deep breath for air. Chanhee has his eyes closed, sprawled out on the bed like a used rag doll, he probably feels that way too, Sunwoo feels that way too.

When he pulls out his cock a mix of his cum and lube built up drips out, the edges throbbing from the overstimulation. Chanhee whimpers at the loss and Sunwoo's cock pulls in response. He wants to suck it, toss it with his tongue and swallow it to know how he tastes in the other's hole. He's too tired for another round and Chanhee seems to be falling asleep even with cum on him to go for a second round.

Next time, he will definitely do it next time.

He takes the luxury of walking lazily to the bathroom and comes back with wet towels, meticulously cleaning the remains of semen from Chanhee's body who doesn't make the effort to open his eyes.

Sunwoo arranges Chanhee's body on the bed and hugs him from behind for sleeping comfortably, he's almost falling asleep when Chanhee speaks

“We should take a shower and change the sheets” he murmurs

“In five minutes”

“If we don’t do it now you are going to fall asleep” Chanhee insists but without moving an inch from his original position, Sunwoo can even tell that they are snuggling up even more against his body.

“We will, in five minutes” he replies.

Of course, they don’t.

Sunwoo sleeps deeply for the rest of the afternoon and when he wakes up hours later it’s because Chanhee pushes him out of bed under the claim that it’s exhausting to sleep in a bed full of semen and sweat.

(Sunwoo insists he didn’t seem too upset about it two hours later when they were cuddling, Chanhee ignores him as she takes over the shower, leaving Sunwoo to change the sheets by himself)

With clean clothes, showered, and a jar of instant ramen in Sunwoo’s hands, they settle down on Chanhee’s old couch.

Chanhee has his head resting on Sunwoo’s shoulder as he’s about to finish his meal in silence when Sunwoo has a last minute revelation.

“Chanhee” he says seriously, at the sound of his name he looks up from his phone in response “Are we dating now?”

Chanhee, impassive, looks at his face before saying: “I thought we were already a couple”

Sunwoo is speechless for a solid minute as he leaves the ramen on the table to look directly at Chanhee.

“You never asked me and I never asked you”

“Technically, but we went on dates all the time and I also ate from you” Chanhee answers and once again he looks at the screen of his phone, Sunwoo practically rips it out of his hand.

“That’s not an answer” he grumbled.

Chanhee rolls his eyes at Sunwoo’s pout, he’s being stubborn for no reason.

He crawls over Sunwoo until he sits on his lap, peppering his cheeks as Sunwoo tries to keep the angry expression on his face.

“I don’t need a question, I know I love you”

He can feel his heart racing beneath his chest at the spontaneous declaration, he knows his face betrays him when Chanhee gives him one of those smiles that instantly disarms him.

If Sunwoo was a more inflexible man, that wouldn’t work. However, it works because Sunwoo has a soft spot for Chanhee’s shape that makes him docile and pleasant.

“Do you love me?”

“Of course I love you, I don’t bite every guy I hook up with” Chanhee teases softly, eyes filled with love just for Sunwoo “Do you love me?”

Sunwoo leans down to catch Chanhee’s lips instead of answering, pouring all his love into the kiss, holding Chanhee against him. Their lips were slightly chapped as he pressed them together, not going deeper into the contact.

He pulls back just enough to see Chanhee's face adorned with her best smile, just for him.

“How could I not love you?”

Sunwoo can read Chanhee's eyes perfectly as they declare their love for him before they kiss again.

“Did you really think we were dating?”

“No, I was just teasing you.”

Notes:

I hate to make them argue so I kept it as brief as I could.

Technically, Chanhee shouldn't be able to get an erection or blush because the blood doesn't circulate in his body, in fact he's not supposed to have hormones and sweat according to certain sources but then this fanfic wouldn't make sense.
