Chapter 1: Mother is amazing<33(at neglect and manipulation)
Chapter Text
“Mmhhh….Floof. Ssstop.”
There was a bark, and then another vicious lick to his face.
“Agh..Alright. I’ll get up- I’m getting up.” Technoblade didn’t move.
He groaned as his pillow was ripped off him. He put an arm over his face, trying to block out the sun. So, so bright. Working overtime there, dude.
“Fine- fine. I’m up. Actually.”
Technoblade yawned, sitting up on his bed. He stretched, struggling not to fall right back down and to sleep. In his nice, warm, wool bed.
Floof gave him a hard nudge, forcing him off and on his legs.
“Mm…..Why are you so eager today? Ain’t like I got anything to do. No places to be.” He said as he grabbed a pre-made muffin from the counter.
What? A man’s gotta do something with his time. Staying in his tower all day.
His gaze flickered to the many, many baked goods and experiential food in the small kitchen. Piled up onto each other and some even on the floor. It smelt heavenly, at least.
Maybe some new hobby was in store. Maybe hunting? Er. No. He had to leave to do that. And even if he managed to kill something, how would he get it up to him?
Floof scattering over to the blood red curtains, covering nothing but wall. His meek body having to huff and scramble to pull away one of the heavy sheets.
“Ah. The lights. Yes, I suppose they should be out today. I wouldn’t know. But you seem to.” He muttered that last part, annoyed by his lack of sleep.
The lights, he called them. Any reasonable person would call them fires, unnaturally sparked in such particular ways only the Gods could set them.
Starting on the tip of the highest peak in the kingdom, a fire would start every June 1st. Starting at the peak, and burned all the way down to the bottom. Unknowingly to Techno, it was set just high enough for him to see.
Rumours spread long ago, when they first started. The Gods were angry, or something similar.
But then it happened again. And again. The same day; every year.
Technoblade thought they were absolutely memorising. The brightest lights he’s ever seen , set on a wonderful mountain, just for him to see.
He didn’t know how true that statement was.
“What shall I do today, floof?” He asked, putting on his coat. It was red, with white ends. He made it a while ago, in winter. It went from his shoulders to his toes.
The dog scattered to him, sloppily walking by his feet.
“I could knit again. Or play chess. Or practice my sparing. That sounds good, no? Yeah? Let’s do that.”
Technoblade went to his closet, pulling out the tore up mannequin and a long sword.
“Let’s get started, eh?” He grinned, pretending to draw his sword.
“Technnnnoooooo! Let down your hair! I have some more foooodddd!”
He paused, as he was about to launch.
Techno let go of the sword, immediately rushing over to the window.
“Comin’!”
He wrapped his hair over a piece of metal at the top of the window, and then let the rest go. The window was pure glass, unable to open from the inside, and the only opening was the small square at the top for his hair.
He stood there patiently, feeling the weight on his hair.
And then finally, in all her glory, was his mother, who was unlocking the window from the outside.
He smiled, immediately getting pulled into a bear hug.
She let go.
“Alright, so, I’ve got some apples, bread, potatoes, and some rabbit!” She listed, setting stuff down on the wooden counter. Where there was room, anyway.
“Awesome. Thanks, mother.” He was already thinking of the meal he was gonna make.
“Of course! I always look for the best for my son.” She ruffled his hair.
Technoblade snorted, having to bend down for her to reach.
“Anyhow. I must be going.”
“Already? You just got here?” He frowned.
“Ah, yes, yes. But life is busy all out of the tower. There’s so much out of here, I’d say you’d get overwhelmed.” She giggled.
“I’ll be back longer tomorrow, though.” She reassured.
“Alright..” He frowned. But she was already leaving, considering he didn’t get the chance to even unwrap his hair from the metal yet.
Techno sighed.
“Well…guess it’s just you and me again, floof.” He picked back up the sword, the dog’s tail started to wag.
Him and floof. Again.
He sighed.
BANG!
“God dammit! Who the hell makes a tower so tall it’s barely clime-able !”
Huh
Chapter 2: Mother Would Never Lie To Me.
Summary:
“Y’know. In all the fairytales they’re’s like, a hot princess or something. And like- they uh, just wait around for a Prince Charming to save them.”
He grinned.
“Which is me.” He paused, looking techno up and down, and cringed. “Was gonna be me.”
Technoblade blinked down at the boy. And then once more.
“Why…would she be in distress?”
“What?”
Notes:
Uhh….I mean TW: mention of blood? Gaslighting? I could add a lot but I don’t wanna spoil but nothing’s too detailed, so.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Uh…
“This is bullshit! Dammit! All I wanna do is climb this shit tower! Then Phil would be soooo proud of me, but noooooo it’s practically fucking bedrock-!”
He had no idea who was having a tantrum outside his tower, but it sounded like they were trying to get in. Poorly.
“AH-“ There was another bang.
He awkwardly stood there, unraveling his hair from the metal. He never figured he’d have to deal with someone other than mother trying to come in.
She always said they were furious and would fill him with terror. That they would cut him up piece by piece and eat his remains. Perhaps they’d be merciful, and destroy him faster than that. With a axe…or something.
He didn’t really know who they was, but they sounded pretty fucked up.
“Ugh!” The person huffed. They were complaining a lot. Something about how tall the tower was.
It was made that way. So they couldn’t get in.
“Hugghh-“ The person wheezed. He finally saw who they were.
….
Uh. Techno definitely wasn’t expecting a blonde haired boy, bout 4’5ft, to be they.
Maybe it was like…a hallucination?
The boy wheezed. He was so…small compared to technoblade. Like, how tall techno was when he was 14ish.
The boy beamed, seeing someone inside. “Open- open the window!” He pleaded, holding on for dear life.
Techno blinked.
“Can’t.”
“Can’t- can’t? Yes you can! Just- just open the window.”
He heard another wheeze. Technoblade just stood there.
“It’s only openable on the outside.” He deadpanned.
Duh. How else would mother get in?
The boy paused, processing that.
Why was it so shocking? That’s just how windows worked.
“For fucks sake!” The boy groaned. He carefully turned his body, trying to reach the latch. Finally, it opened.
“Thank the Gods!” The boy exclaimed, crawling inside, landing on the stone.
Technoblade awkwardly stood there, blinking.
….
This kid was a lot weaker and smaller than mother described they.
Maybe they was like…a name? Sorta? That didn’t make sense.
“Uhm…” He blinked, looking down at the kid.
The kid finally looked up. Then immediately gabbed. “Woah. You uh- you definitely aren’t a damsel in distress.”
….
“Huh”
The boy looked away, bouncing to his feet. He looked around while he talked.
“Y’know. In all the fairytales they’re’s like, a hot princess or something. And like- they uh, just wait around for a Prince Charming to save them.”
He grinned.
“Which is me.” He paused, looking techno up and down, and cringed. “ Was gonna be me.”
Technoblade blinked down at the boy. And then once more.
“Why…would she be in distress?”
“What?”
“Why would she be in distress?” He repeated, puzzled. The boy then paused too, like he wasn’t expecting the question.
“Uh…shit, I’dunno. She just is. Trapped, away from the world. Wanting to see what she’s missin’. Y’know?” The boy described.
“No.” He bluntly denied. “No, that sounds horrible.”
The kid blinked. “What…what does? Being trapped from the world? I mean, yeah, kinda the point-“
“No. Seeing the world.” Technoblade interrupted. He looked confused, so he continued.
“They- the world is horrible. Filled with monsters and terrors. Mother said that people look like bears with skin, and would claw me up into little pieces, and eat me. Or with a flying axe, that slams onto your neck, and cuts your head off. And-“
“Woah, man. Slow down. Two things. One, people do not look like bears with skin. Just…people, y’know?” The boy clarified, poorly. His eyebrows were furrowed.
“And who’s this mother person? She sounds either really paranoid, or full of shit.”
Technoblade frowned, a little ticked off. “Mother speaks only of the truth. She said so. That’s why my window only opens from the outside.” He defended.
This guy looked unimpressed, tilting his head.
“Uh huh. And uh, if “mother” said she only speaks the truth, how do you know she didn’t lie about only speaking the truth?”
Techno blinked. He didn’t know how to say that wasn’t a possibility. “Mother would never lie to me.”
He was firm in his belief.
“Uh huh. Well, she sounds full of shit-“ The kid lazily said, looking away.
“Do not say that about mother-“
“It’s just the true.”
“ No. Mother- Mother would never lie to me. She tells me everything.”
“Everything? Really? I’m telling you, nobody ever just eats a guy in the the real world and it would be seen as normal-“
“ Stop! Stop. No. She- she- mother speaks nothing but the truth -“
“Uh huh. And you’ve never actually seen any of this shit happen-”
“Stop.”
“I’m just saying. She sounds like a narc-“
”S-stop! No, mother isn’t-“
“It’s just the truth, big man. She’s got you brainwashed-“
Technoblade grabbed his axe, and slammed it into this guy. A flury of rage and anxiety.
How dare he talk about mother like that-
He lifted up the axe, and slammed again.
He relished in the man’s screams.
He blinked.
And blinked again, looking down at the bleeding boy, axe in his stomach.
….
Fuck.
Notes:
Uh oh. What’s techno gonna do? Fyi, I’m trying to be kinda realistic for how techno would react, considering he see’s whatever “mother” says like the gospel. Cause I feel like repunsel was a little….Light.(obv, it’s a kids movie) but I don’t wanna do research.
Chapter 3: Do dead people close their eyes? Probably(they don’t)
Summary:
Right. The kid wasn’t dead yet. Technoblade crumpled to the ground, a blank look on his face. His mind was running a mile a minute.
There was a problem here.
Techno knew shit about wounds or medical help. He only had the medkit for bandaids, but he used nothing else.
Notes:
TW for blood ig? Nothing descriptive. Techno goes into something similar to shock
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Uh..” Techno blinked down at the boy. What does one do in this scenario?
He didn’t mean to.
He watched as floof whined, licking at the body. Boy. He wasn’t technically dead yet. He just had a axe through his stomach. No biggie.
Technoblade was in shock.
Floof was acting, going over to a shelf, grabbing a medkit. Now it was all slobbery.
He went over the the boy, who was gagging on his own blood. Panic in his eyes.
Floof was trying to open the medkit in his mouth, getting more slobber on it. His canine teeth managed to slip into it, and when he let go, it flopped open.
The dog wobbled over to technoblade, pulling on his cap as he tried to get the man over to help.
Uhm….Think, technoblade, think. The kid’s got a axe in his stomach, and was bleeding out.
He had the urge to immediately remove the ace, but that would let more blood out, right?
He grabbed some bandages and some kinda tape, and started to put them on where the gash was bleeding around the wound. Then he put some over that.
Right…now the axe.
He got some bandages ready, which looked more like the cotton he saw outside sometimes, and quickly yanked out the axe.
The kid gurgled, choking up at the pain.
“Sorry- sorry.” Techno muttered under his breath. Wait. Would the cotton enter the wound? That didn’t sound good.
But the kid was bleeding more, and he didn’t have time to think. He put them over the wound, and put tape around his waist, keeping it there. Right…Now what does he do about mouth blood?
He really should’ve learned more medical stuff.
He just awkwardly set the body on some stone, and laid some of his hair around it, incase he got cold.
Then he immediately scrambled away, into a closet, and hid in his cap, shaking. This was terrifying for the man. Too real.
And he did was hide.
Until the boy’s noises stopped.
He didn’t know if that meant he was dead or not.
It was a relief, nonetheless. Letting him take a deep breath.
He spent another few more minutes in the closet, before coming out on wobbly feet.
He took one look at the boy, before shoving him in a dresser, taking a couple of tries.
He was so…shaky. It felt his heart was gonna pound him to death.
He felt nauseous.
He just killed a boy.
Maybe.
He didn’t check. Not that he knew how. But…he was passed out, and blood was flowing from his open mouth. Not a good thought.
He jabbed one of his legs right, and forced the other to move.
He got to floof, who was sniffing where the boy was.
Technoblade picked him up with shaking hands, running them through his curly fur.
Well…what to do now? Until mother comes back.
He would be telling mother. Like she said to.
He grabbed a book in one hand, and a cake in his other. He was comfort eating, screw you.
How would you feel if you just killed a boy and heard him choke to death?
Probably, anyway. His eyes were closed.
Dead people’s eyes were closed, right?
Probably. He’s too freaked out to do anything else.
So, for the majority of the day, technoblade spent it hurled over a book, floof in his lap, cake in his hand, and a man in his closet.
Nothing too note worthy. Though, you can’t expect anything exciting.
‘Cept dead people’s eyes aren’t closed.
Notes:
Tommy 100% got a infection. Sry this is short, next chapters gonna be longer, but I overestimated how much my writing skills can drag out plot points.
