Tiger Baby

Summary:

Scientist Jeonghan and hybrid Joshua waiting the arrival of their first babies

Work Text:

The sterile white walls of the lab were a stark contrast to the soft, plush rug under Joshua's feet. He padded around the room, his tail swishing lazily, a low purr vibrating in his chest. Joshua was a tiger hybrid omega, and in the care of Jeonghan, a brilliant scientist and, more importantly, his loving caregiver. Jeonghan, with his sharp mind and gentle hands, had dedicated his life to studying and caring for hybrids, and Joshua was, undoubtedly, his favorite project.

"Hey, my sweet baby," Jeonghan's voice was like warm honey, pulling Joshua from his reverie. He looked up, his golden eyes meeting Jeonghan's, and the purr in his chest intensified. Jeonghan held a small, velvet box in his hands, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Look what I got you!”

Joshua's tail swished faster, his ears perked up in anticipation. Jeonghan loved spoiling him, showering him with expensive gifts that, frankly, Joshua didn't need but greatly enjoyed. He padded over, rubbing his head against Jeonghan's legs. "For me?" He purred, his voice soft and melodic.

"For you, my love." Jeonghan opened the box to reveal a stunning silver collar with tiny, embedded diamonds that glittered under the lab lights. "I know you like the sparkly things."

Joshua gasped, his eyes widening with delight. "It's so pretty, Hannie! Thank you!" He nuzzled his head against Jeonghan's hand, and purred with such joy it was practically shaking him.

Jeonghan chuckled, his fingers gently fastening the collar around Joshua's neck. “You’re welcome, my love. You deserve only the best.” He ran his hand through Joshua's soft fur, his touch gentle and reassuring. "Now, how about some of that fancy tuna you like?"

Joshua's ears perked up at the mention of food, and he nodded enthusiastically. He loved the way Jeonghan cared for him, the way he anticipated his every need, from the expensive gifts to the perfectly prepared meals. He felt safe and utterly adored.

Days passed in a blissful blur of pampering, gentle care, and quiet moments of connection. Then, one morning, Joshua started feeling a little off. He was more tired than usual, his appetite had changed, and he was unusually sensitive to smells. He wasn't sure what was going on, but the change in his body was noticeable.

He went to Jeonghan who was in the lab, running tests on a new serum, “Hannie…”

Jeonghan turned around, his expression one of concern. “What is it, baby? What’s wrong?” He had a concerned look on his face when he saw Joshua’s own.

“I don’t know,” Joshua replied looking down, his tail drooping. “I think I’m not feeling well…”

Jeonghan immediately dropped what he was doing and rushed to his side. "Okay, let's have a look at you." He led Joshua to one of the examination rooms, a worried frown still creasing his forehead. He gently examined Joshua’s eyes and throat, his touch as soft as ever.

"Hmm... Let's run some tests just to be safe, okay?" Jeonghan's voice was gentle, but Joshua could hear the concern in his tone.

They ran several tests, both of them in silence, and, after a while, Jeonghan stared at the results, his eyes wide and mouth agape.

"What is it?" Joshua asked, his voice laced with anxiety.

Jeonghan’s expression softened into a smile, and he turned around to face Joshua. He knelt down in front of Joshua and cupped his cheeks, “My love… you’re pregnant” he whispered, tears welling up in his eyes. “We’re going to be parents.”

Joshua stared at him, stunned. His mouth formed a little 'o' and his tail swished slowly from side to side. “I’m… pregnant?” He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jeonghan pulled him into a hug, squeezing him tightly. “Yes, baby. And not just one… it’s twins!” He laughed a choked sob of joy, and kept him in a warm embrace. "Two little babies! Our babies!"Tears filled Joshua’s eyes, joy bubbling in his chest. He wrapped his arms around Jeonghan, burying his face in his chest. “I’m so happy,” he whispered, feeling the gentle caress on his back.

Jeonghan pulled back, his eyes filled with love and a hint of awe. “Me too, baby. I’m so, so happy. I promise, I will take care of you and them. Everything will be perfect.”

The realization that they were starting a family washed over Joshua, filling him with a mix of excitement and nervousness. He looked up at Jeonghan, and he knew that, with his caregiver and love, he could do anything. The sterile lab suddenly felt like home, like a place where love and life bloomed, and that was all thanks to Jeonghan.

From that day on, Jeonghan doubled his efforts to care for Joshua, spoiling him even more than before. He made sure Joshua had everything he could ever need or want. He was the most loving and devoted caregiver, always making sure that Joshua was healthy, happy, and safe.

They began preparing for the arrival of their babies, filling the lab with tiny clothes, plush toys, and all kinds of baby essentials. The once sterile environment was now bursting with color and love, and the anticipation of their new life together was palpable. They were ready to welcome their babies, twin blessings, into their home, ready to fill their lives with even more love.

The news of Joshua’s pregnancy brought a new dimension to their already loving relationship. Jeonghan, ever the meticulous scientist, became a whirlwind of organized preparations, while Joshua embraced the changes with a mixture of excitement and a touch of nervous anticipation.

Jeonghan transformed a section of his lab into a cozy nursery. Soft, pastel-colored blankets replaced sterile white sheets, and a hand-carved wooden mobile hung gently above the crib. He spent hours researching the best care for pregnant omegas and their developing pups, poring over countless studies, and making notes. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect for Joshua and their babies.

Joshua, on the other hand, was enjoying all the extra attention and pampering. He reveled in the gentle rubs Jeonghan would give his growing belly and found immense comfort in the soft lullabies the alpha sang to him. He'd purr contentedly, his tail thumping rhythmically against the plush cushions that Jeonghan had specially added everywhere, making the space even more comfy. He was also becoming more protective, his instincts kicking in as his belly grew bigger. He’d often find himself placing himself between Jeonghan and any potential "danger".

One evening, as Jeonghan was preparing a nutrient-rich meal for Joshua, he found Joshua staring at his reflection in the large lab window. His usually bright golden eyes were clouded with worry.

“What is it, love?” Jeonghan asked, approaching Joshua with concern.

Joshua turned around, his tail swishing slowly. “I don’t know… I just feel so different. I’m scared of not being able to care for them properly, of not being a good mother…” He confessed, his voice barely a whisper.

Jeonghan's heart ached at Joshua’s words. He reached out, cupping Joshua’s face in his hands. “Hey, look at me,” he said softly. “You will be an amazing mother, Joshua. You're so gentle, so kind, and so loving. Our pups will be incredibly lucky to have you.” He leaned closer, kissing Joshua’s forehead with as much love as he could muster.

He then put his hand on Joshua's belly, feeling the gentle kicks of the twins. “Besides, you're not alone in this. I’m here with you, every step of the way. We’ll do this together, okay?”

Joshua leaned into Jeonghan’s touch, his purr rumbling in his chest. “Okay,” he whispered, his worries melting away at Jeonghan’s words of reassurance.

As the months passed, their bond grew even deeper. Jeonghan became more protective, making sure Joshua didn’t overexert himself and was always comfortable. He started keeping a close watch on the lab, making sure the temperature was perfect, and that the music playing was never too loud. He always had his eyes on Joshua, ensuring his omega had everything he needed.

They often spent their evenings curled up together, Jeonghan reading aloud to Joshua while his hands carefully caressed Joshua’s growing belly. Sometimes, they would just stay silent, enjoying the comfortable intimacy of their shared space.

One night, as the twins were particularly active, Joshua gasped, his eyes wide. Jeonghan immediately rushed to his side. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice laced with panic.

“I think they’re trying to kick me out!” Joshua chuckled, a mixture of laughter and pain in his voice. Jeonghan smiled and put his hand on Joshua’s belly.

“Looks like they are, little gremlins !” He said chuckling with joy. "Maybe they just want to meet their dads already." He leaned in to give a soft kiss to Joshua's belly, talking to their pups, trying to calm them down.

The arrival of their twins was a momentous event. The lab was filled with the tiny cries of two precious pups, their little bodies wrapped in soft, colorful blankets. Jeonghan was there by Joshua’s side, holding his hand through it all, offering words of encouragement and love. The moment they held their babies for the first time, their hearts overflowed with a love they had never known before. It was a moment that changed them, that solidified their bond even further.

Life as parents was chaotic, wonderful, and full of challenges, but they faced everything with the same love and dedication they had always had for each other. They were a family, and they had found their haven in the most unexpected of places, in the heart of a scientific lab, where a scientist and his tiger omega built a love that was as beautiful and unique as they were.

They named their babies Soonyoung and Seungkwan, names that carried a special significance for both of them, a way to always be reminded of their love. Joshua, being a great mother, always made sure to make the babies their favorites, while Jeonghan made sure to be the best dad. They were the cutest family anyone had ever seen, and they were ready for everything life had to throw their way.
