How I Met Your Father

Chapter 1

How It All Began

“Kids let me tell you a story of how I met your father…”

Taehyung and his friends, Seokjin, Namjoon, Jimin, Hoseok, and Yoongi all sat at their booth at their local bar. The location of said bar being just under the apartment complex Taehyung, Seokjin, and Namjoon shared an apartment in. Jimin and Hoseok lived in the richer part of Seoul, and Yoongi lived in a different part to the other five. They sat in their favourite booth, which wasn't too far from the bar but not too far from the bathrooms either. It was in the middle but up against the back wall. The bar itself wasn't too busy for a Wednesday night but still had a decent number of people.

They each had their drink of choice. Which was a bottle of the cheapest beer they could get. Living on a budget in a busy city, whilst living with roommates to even out the rent, it was the best thing they could do.

This particular night was no exception to the wacky ways Jimin and Hoseok would try and pick up both guys and girls. Just for some fun rather than a relationship. They do try and bring Taehyung into their wacky shenanigans, and sometimes he does indulge. Other times, he doesn't give them the satisfaction.

“Come on, Taehyung! We need a third if we want to get with this group! It'll be the best six way ever!” Jimin exclaimed as he tried to talk the other into coming with them to an event with three other girls.

“I said it before, and I'll say it again, No” Taehyung didn't even look at the male who stood there in his daily suit. “Besides, Seokjin and Namjoon need help getting that weird lamp out of the apartment”

“But-”

“No” Taehyung shook his head as he took a sip of his beer.

“But Taehyung, come on-” Jimin huffed.

“No,” Taehyung laughed. “Hoseok and you go have fun, and you can tell us about your sex adventures tomorrow”

“Fine!” Jimin sighed and walked away to the exit of the bar where Hoseok was talking to the group of three girls. “Sorry girls, but it'll just be us two tonight!”

Taehyung sighed as he heard the girls whine softly before leaving the bar with Hoseok and Jimin.

“Why do you join them some days while other days you don't Tae?” Seokjin asked from across the small square table of their booth.

“Some days I wanna see how their plans go. Other days, I just don't want to” He shrugged. “It's depends on if I want a hangover or not the next day” Taehyung replied honestly.

“And you don't tomorrow?” Namjoon asked sarcastically.

“No I do not” Taehyung replied. “Besides, I do need to help you get rid of that weird lamp we have”

The weird lamp was one of those long ones, the one with the base and big lamp shade but stood on a tall pole. Any time one of them tried to throw it away, it would come right back to their apartment. So they thought, why not all three of them try?

“You guys tried to put it in the garbage, right?” Yoongi raised an eyebrow. “Why not put it in the bermuda triangle outside your apartment?”

The bermuda triangle, as they call it, is a spot on the sidewalk outside their apartment where they would place what they didn't want anymore, and it would disappear within an hour. They haven't figured out what happens to the objects, but as long as it's gone, it's not their problem.

“Oh yeah, we could do that,” Seokjin nodded. “And, we could watch what happens to it!” He pointed out.

“We can do that in the morning” Taehyung replied before he went to take another sip of beer to find it empty. “But for now, I need another beer”

“Me too, Tae” Namjoon shook his empty bottle.

“Got you” Taehyung nodded and shifted to turn to the bar owner who worked behind the bar. “Hey, Bogum, two more beers for Namjoon and I”

“Same as usual?” He asked as he gave someone their drink at the bar.

“Yeah, thank you” Taehyung smiled and turned back to the other three. “It'll be here soon..”

“Thanks Taehyung,” Namjoon replied and wrapped his arm around Seokjin's shoulder. “Will that be your last one tonight, baby?”

“Yeah.. maybe” Seokjin shifted the bottle in his hands. “I do need to get up early to go to work.. those kids Joonie, they're a handful” He sighed.

“Then you probably need that second one” Yoongi jokingly said as he took another sip of his own bottle.

“What about you, Taehyung? Do you need to get up early at all?” Namjoon asked as he kept an eye out for their second drinks.

“Well, Mr. Han wants this building layout done before the end of next week, and it's best if I get it done before Monday because he changes his mind a lot about things..” Taehyung sighed as he shifted in his seat. “But..I do need to get up early..though two beers won't make me hungover” He shook his head.

“If you know your limits, then yeah, you should be fine” Namjoon nodded his head.

“Exactly” Taehyung laughed and smiled when he saw the bartender bring over their second drinks. “Thanks Bogum”

“No problem, just make sure to pay on the way out,” Bogum smiled.

“Will do!” Taehyung replied and took a sip of his second cold beer.

“Taehyung” Seokjin started making Taehyung look at him. “Been on any dates recently? Like proper dates?”

“Ah no” Taehyung shook his head. “..you know why, busy with work, designing the new building plan, and the only time I get to rest right now is down here with you guys..” He almost pouts.

“How long has it been?”

Taehyung looked at Seokjin, then to Namjoon and then to Yoongi. “About four or five months”

“Taehyung!” Seokjin groaned.

“What? I've been busy, you guys know this” Taehyung replied as if it wasn't the biggest thing in the world. It really wasn't. But to them, it was.

“You need to find someone, Taehyung” Yoongi frowned as he took another sip of his beer.

“I do not,” Taehyung laughed and then looked at the other three of them. “Okay fine, I do, but it won't happen like that” He clicked his fingers to make the point.

“Besides, it's not like the love of my life is going to walk through that door,” Taehyung joked as he gestured to the entrance of the bar.

As he did so, however, someone did walk through that door. A man around the same height as him, probably a couple inches smaller, but not by much. He wore a leather jacket over what appeared to be a white shirt. He wore a belt around his waist that almost made Taehyung choke on his beer because of how small it was. His pants were a bit grunge in a way, with a few rips around the knees and hung loosely around his legs. The chunky soled boots made him appear taller, but without them, he'd be around his height.

“Oh..” Taehyung muttered under his breath as he caught sight of the mansion soft, round face that shared softer round doe eyes, looking around the bar. “Wow..”

“Go talk to him, Taehyung” Seokjin urged. “Maybe he is the love of your life”

“I don't know..” Taehyung shrugged but didn't take his eyes off the man as he walked to the bar counter to order a drink with a smile that made Taehyung's heart race.

“Do it before it's too late” Namjoon urged.

“Go, go, go” Seokjin tried to shoo him away from their booth and to the man.

“Okay, okay, if this turns out poorly, then I blame you” Taehyung gave up and raised his hands in defence before he stood up and walked over to the bar counter where the man stood.

Taehyung took a breath before tapping the man on the shoulder and watching as he turned around with wide doe eyes in surprise.

“Yes..?” the man asked, and Taehyung felt his heart flutter at his soft voice.

“Hi, my name is Taehyung, uh, Kim Taehyung” Taehyung put his hand out to shake the other's hand.

“Jeongguk, Jeon Jeongguk” the man giggled as he took Taehyung's hand.

“What brings you to The Laughing Duck?” Taehyung asked as he stood closer to the other.

“Oh well, I'm here for my friends, best friends bachelor party, and I'm also new to the city cause I just moved here” Jeongguk explained with a slight inflection in his tone indicating a dialect difference.

“Oh where did you move from?” Taehyung asked, genuinely curious as to where the tone was from.

“Busan” Jeongguk replied with a big smile before continuing. “I've actually moved up here for a job opportunity.. I have one lined up for a streaming event I'll be playing for”

“Oh when is the event?” Taehyung asked, actually interested in what it was.

“Next week.. after the wedding this weekend” Jeongguk nodded and smiled to the bartender when his drink came as a thank you.

“So the bachelor party is three days before the wedding?” Taehyung questioned as he sat on one of the bar stools next to Jeongguk.

“So strange, right? Who would've thought” Jeongguk laughed softly. “Anyway, what brought you up here to talk with me?”

“Funny story, long story short, my friends there..” Taehyung pointed to the booth he was at where his friend still sitting and watching. “Urged me to ask you out on a date. Obviously, you don't have to agree-”

“Why not? It might be fun” Jeongguk nodded. “When and where?”

“I'll let you know because I haven't gotten that far” Taehyung laughed. “Give me your number, and I'll let you know” He said as he pulled out his phone from his jacket pocket and opened it to give it to the other.

“Sure” Jeongguk laughed as he took the other's phone and typed his number into it. “There you go”

“See you later, Jeongguk, have a fun time at the bachelor party” Taehyung smiled as he took his phone back and slipped it back into his jacket pocket.

“See you, and I'll try to” Jeongguk replied with a smile as he watched the other walk back to the booth where his friends were.

Taehyung sat down back in his place and looked at his friends. “What..?”

“So how'd it go?” Seokjin asked, and the other two nodded.

“I asked him out, and we have a date” Taehyung smiled as he replied.

“Finally” Seokjin smiled. “When and where?”

“Next week sometime, after a wedding he has to go to on the weekend” He nodded. “He's from busan. He's just moved up here too”

“Wow..” Namjoon gasped. “How lucky, huh?”

“Very lucky”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 2

Best Friends Engagement

"Kids, it used to be just me, your uncle Namjoon and his husband, your uncle Seokjin, in a college dorm. Once we graduated, we shared an apartment..”

The apartment was big enough to have two rooms, a big living room and a kitchen off to the left side of the front door. The two bedrooms were by the right side of the room opposite each other. The bathroom was past the fireplace that was barely used. There was a small flat screen TV in front of the couch where Namjoon and Taehyung sat and watched something randomly on TV, not caring about what was on. They just needed some background noise.

“Taehyung, you're my best friend, and I need some advice..” Namjoon spoke softly as he turned to face Taehyung. His hands were shaking in his lap as his eyes were locked on his hands.

“What's up?” Taehyung hummed as he turned to look at Namjoon and then glanced down at his hands.

“I'm thinking of asking Seokjin to marry me,” Namjoon admitted as he looked over at Taehyung.

“No way!” Taehyung exclaimed as he jumped up to stand on the couch in excitement. “That's amazing, Namjoon!”

“Really?” Namjoon blinked. “I've already got the ring, I just.. I wanna do it today at some point” Namjoon released a breath he didn't know he was holding. “I'll do it when he gets home from work!”

Taehyung slipped off the couch and sat down again. “Do you need me out of here? You know, in case you two have sex on the kitchen floor?”

Namjoon chuckled. “Yeah, that would be for the best”

“I'll hang at the bar or ask Jeongguk if he wants to go on that date,” Taehyung replied with a smile.

“Oh yeah, you haven't messaged him yet, Why haven't you?” Namjoon asked with an eyebrow raised.

Truth was, Taehyung was nervous to message first. He waited for the weekend to be over before he messaged the other man. He didn't want to take away the enjoyment of a wedding ceremony. Even if it was a friends best friend's wedding. He also wanted to make sure he didn't want to bother him or anything like that. He over-thought a simple hello message.

“I didn't want to bother him-” Taehyung groaned.

“Taehyung, I swear this is the guy for you. You just haven't realised it, not after all your previous attempts at a relationship” Namjoon pushed. “You'll realise it sooner or later..”

“Maybe..” Taehyung sighed. “Do you really think he is..?” He didn't want to finish that sentence. It wasn't because he didn't want to, but it was because he couldn't believe what he was saying.

“I do think so,” Namjoon nodded. “Now message him!” He nudged the other's shoulder to encourage him.

“Alright, alright” Taehyung laughed as he pulled out his phone and tapped his way through his lockscreen to his message app, tapping against the keyboard on the screen as he composed a message to the other man.

“I wouldn't expect him to reply right away. It's after his friends, best friends, wedding, and he's probably hungover” Taehyung shook his head.

“I wouldn't doubt that,” Namjoon sighed. “But as you said, he is a streamer, so he's probably getting ready for the streaming event you mentioned so he could be busy, and it might take a while to reply”

“That's true, you're right” Taehyung nodded as he placed his phone on the coffee table in front of him as he waited for a reply.

He didn't have to wait long, though, as he heard his phone buzz against the coffee table. He glanced at it and saw Jeongguk's name pop up on the lockscreen. Just as he was about to pick it up, Namjoon stopped him.

“Wait, wait, you gotta act cool, natural.. chill” Namjoon emphasised what he meant by sliding down on the couch.

“...You do you Namjoon..” Taehyung shook his head as he picked up his phone to answer the text.

“Ah..” Taehyung trailed off softly.

“What is it?” Namjoon asked as he sat up.

“He's busy unpacking and setting up his apartment currently..” Taehyung replied with disappointment in his tone. “And settling in still.. he's not used to the big city like this..”

“Where's he from again? Busan?”

“Yeah,” Taehyung nodded. “Busan, it's not too far from Daegu. It's a bit further south east-ish” He added as he tapped a reply to Jeongguk.

“What are you gonna say to him?” Namjoon asked as he stood up to walk to the kitchen to get a drink.

“That when he's free, he can text to let me know if he wants to meet up” Taehyung smiled. “Otherwise, I'll head down to the bar and give Seokjin and you some privacy” He winked.

“Thanks so much, man. I owe you big time,” Namjoon replied from the kitchen and walked out with a glass of water. “Oh! Also, maybe you could take Jeongguk to dinner after the streaming event? He might be tired and hungry from streaming for a full day” He suggested as he sat down on the couch again.

“That would be a great idea” Taehyung replied as he tapped against his phone screen again to send another text. “I'll be down at the bar shortly cause Seokjin will be home soon, right?”

“In about three minutes” Namjoon replied with a smirk. It takes three minutes to get up to the apartment from the bar.

Taehyung then stood up from the couch and almost raced out the door, letting it close behind him but then returning to grab a jacket from the hook by the door and running back out past Seokjin

“Where are you going in a hurry?” Seokjin asked as he watched Taehyung rush down the hall.

“Bogum is having trouble with low staff at the moment and asked if I could help for a couple of hours,” Taehyung replied. It was a pretty lame excuse, but Seokjin didn't question it.

“Okay.. then..” Seokjin shook his head as he made his way to the apartment.

Stepping inside the apartment whilst opening the door, he let his backpack slip from his shoulder. “I just saw Taehyung rushing down to the bar to help Bogum..? Did he tell you..?”

“Uh.. yes, that's why he was rushing out the door..” Namjoon nodded. “No other reason” He glanced at the other. “Anyway, how was your day?”

“Huh..well anyway, one of the boys in my kindergartens class got to second base with me,” Seokjin explained as he took off his coat to show a purple child sized handprint on his right pectoral. “What about yours?”

“Oh nothing special, just did some more studying for my law paper I need to write” Namjoon replied as he stood up from the cough and let Seokjin sit down and sort his things out.

“Oh yeah, how's that coming along?” Seokjin asked as he was facing away from Namjoon.

“Good good..” Namjoon nodded to himself as he pulled out the ring box and lowered himself down onto one knee. “It's going good..”

“That's good-” Seokjin turned to look at Namjoon, and from where he was sitting, he saw the ring in the ring box, which was in Namjoon's hand. Namjoon kneeled on one knee and looked at him with such fondness.

“Seokjin will you-”

“Yes! Yes! You don't even need to ask!” Seokjin exclaimed as he went to kiss Namjoon and put the ring on his ring finger.

“Is that why Taehyung was running out of here?” Seokjin asked.

“That, and he wanted to be gone before we had sex on the kitchen floor,” Namjoon admitted with a laugh.

“Smart” Seokjin nodded and then dragged Namjoon to the kitchen where they would celebrate their engagement.

“Kids… it's uncomfortable to have sex on the kitchen floor. The tiles are cold.. do it in bed, it's more comfortable on the back”

Hi!

Probably not as fun but I'm trying my best to keep it comedic like a late 2000s comedy TV show.

Chapter 3

The Ring

"Kids, the power of an engagement ring is something of a mystery…you should ask your father about his time wearing his one, but for your uncle Seokjin.. Well..”

“I'm telling you, there was a beer bottle under the fridge” Namjoon spoke across the booth table to Taehyung, who sat there eating some overly salted fries.

“Did you get it? Were you able to?..” Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows as he playfully glared at the other. “..did you call dibs on it?”

“I did indeed call dibs on it before Seokjin could” Namjoon replied with a smile.

“Darn it..” Taehyung sighed. “I wanted to call dibs on it” He pouted.

“Too bad Taehyung” Namjoon shook his head and then watched as Seokjin walked into the bar and watched as he sat himself down next to him in the booth.

“Those kids are demons,” Seokjin groans. “I don't know how their parents deal with it..”

“By sending them to you” Taehyung replied with a small smirk to hold back his laughter.

“Rude..but true” Seokjin nodded in defeat. “Anyway, what were you two talking about before I sat down?” He asked.

“The beer bottle I saw under the fridge while we were-”

“I don't need detail, but yes we were talking about that and now Namjoon called dibs on it” Taehyung gave a pointed look at Namjoon before looking back to Seokjin with a shrug.

“You didn't let Taehyung or me call dibs first?” Seokjin accused his fiancé.

“I saw it first, so I dibs first,” Namjoon replied. “That's how it works” It was indeed how it worked. Once you saw something up for dibs, you called dibs.

“It doesn't matter anyway, it's probably out of date with it being cheap beer” Taehyung replied as he shook his head and picked up a fry to eat it. “God.. this is salty, Hey! Bogum! Less salt next time” Taehyung said over his shoulder.

“Sorry Taehyung!” Bogum shouted as a reply.

“It's fine,” Taehyung replied over his shoulder and turned back to his best friend's and roommates. As he did so he saw Jeongguk walk through the entrance of the bar. “Jeongguk!”

Jeongguk's head shot up at the sound of his name and he smiled when he saw Taehyung sitting in the booth that he mentioned previously. He made his way over and sat down next to Taehyung in the booth.

“Hey, I didn't expect to see you here,” Jeongguk smiled and looked at Taehyung's friends. “You guys must be his friends-”

“Yes, I nearly forgot to introduce you to them, Jeongguk this is Namjoon..” Taehyung gestured to Namjoon. “And this is Seokjin..”

“Namjoon, Seokjin, this is Jeongguk,” Taehyung added.

“Hey” Namjoon waved.

“Hi!” Seokjin smiled and waved at the other. “Jeongguk, what are you doing in this old place?”

“Oh, well, I thought I'd go to a bar I know to relax a bit from today before I go home for the night” Jeongguk replied with a smile and picked up one of Taehyung's fries to eat. “These are too salty..”

“I know right?” Taehyung replied with a tone in his voice that sounded like disbelief.

Jeongguk glanced at the other two across the booth's table and saw a glint in the light when Seokjin moved his hand. “Are you guys engaged?”

“Yes! Namjoon proposed yesterday!” Seokjin replied as he showed off the ring that had a medium sized diamond in the middle with smaller ones either side of it. “Isn't it pretty?”

“It's so gorgeous..” Jeongguk gasped as he saw it. “Do you guys know about the ring theory?”

“What's the ring theory?” Taehyung asked as he looked at the other with a confused expression.

“The ring theory is that once you have an engagement ring on, you become invisible to people, and they won't hit on you or even see you anymore,” Jeongguk explained as he looked around at the other three males.

“Is that an actual thing?” Namjoon asked not believing what the other said.

“It's just a theory, believe it if you want or if you don't want to, don't” Jeongguk shrugged.

“I don't think that's a thing…” Namjoon trailed off abit as he shook his head with a laugh. As he did so a guy came up to their booth whilst looking at Jeongguk and turned his back to Seokjin.

“Hey there cutie” The random guy winked and smiled at Jeongguk. “How you doing?”

“No thanks mate, move along, I already have a date coming up” Jeongguk rejected the guy bluntly as he held up Taehyung's hand. The guy just rolled his eyes as he stood up and left the booth table.

“See” Jeongguk gave a pointed look to Namjoon.

“That was just a coincidence..” Namjoon shrugged.

“Fine, then wait for the next guy” Jeongguk took a fry from Taehyung's plate again and ate it. “Again, so salty”

“I know..” Taehyung sighed.

“Hey, I just saw you from across the bar-”

“Not interested mate, got a date already” Jeongguk replied again almost robotically to the new guy at their booth without making eye contact with him. This guy also had his back turned to Seokjin. The guy just scoffed and moved on to the back of the bar closest to the bathroom.

Jeongguk just raised an eyebrow at Namjoon. “So..?”

“Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times.. then yeah I'll believe you” Namjoon nodded as he took a drink from his beer bottle.

“Joonie, maybe it is a thing-” Seokjin started to explain before two more guys came up to their booth and both looked at Jeongguk and Taehyung.

“Say… what do you two say about having a four-way?” One asked.

“Sorry not into it” Jeongguk shook his head.

“Not my type,” Taehyung replied. Both were not looking at the men by their booth.

“Fucks sakes all the hot ones aren't interested..” The guy huffed as he walked away with his friend.

“So..?” Jeongguk urged the other.

“Yeah okay, you got me” Namjoon nodded as he wrapped his arm around his fiancé's shoulders.

“See it's a thing” both Jeongguk and Taehyung said in unison.

“Alright, alright, I get it” Namjoon raised both his hands in a defencive stance. “It's like the olive theory”

“The ..what theory?” Jeongguk asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

“The olive theory… you don't know it?” Namjoon asked as he raised an eyebrow.

“No..?” Jeongguk questioned in a trailed off tone. “What's that?”

“Kids…the olive theory was a lie the whole time, but the true outcome of it was that if you did the action for them you truly loved them.. aka saying you don't like Olives, even though you actually did because your partner likes them, is what a relationship is balanced on. When it truly is just you just like to see them smile..”

Notes:

Hi! I hope you enjoyed it!

I'm still trying to keep that late 2000s humor in there..it's really fun to write actually haha I do miss it. It's not the same anymore sadly. But it probably wouldn't be able to be gotten away with on TV or streaming these days.

Chapter 4

Date one out of…?

“Kids.. My first date with Jeongguk went as well as any first date could.. By that, I mean the best either of us have ever had.. The night started off well..-”

Taehyung was fiddling with his hair in the mirror in front of him in the bathroom, making sure there were no bits sticking up all over the place as he had just dried it with a hair dryer very quickly. He had on a simple yet classy beige coloured blazer over a simple brown sweater. His pants were brown, matching his sweater, and he wore black, easy to slip on boots.

He checked his skin and gave himself a nod as he looked over himself as a final once over and stepped outside the bathroom back to the living room.

“Oh look, who's all dressed up? What for?” Seokjin asked as he looked up from watching TV on their small TV.

“I'm going on a date with Jeongguk” Taehyung replied as he felt his pockets just in case he had forgotten anything. He had his keys, phone, and wallet.

“Ohh! Where are you going?” Seokjin asked as he watched Taehyung take out his phone and send a text.

“I'm taking him out to dinner as a treat for him since he'd been streaming all day” Taehyung replied as he looked at the time. He had been watching the event that Jeongguk had appeared on and enjoyed every fun second of it.

“Oh that's so nice of you Taehyung” Seokjin replied with a smile. “I hope you two have fun!”

“Will do. See you guys later!” Taehyung waved goodbye as he left the apartment with a hop and skip in his step.

He walked towards the elevator and called it with the bottom on the side of the wall. He got a text reply from Jeongguk and smiled as he saw what it said.

‘I'm nearly there! Just coming up the the bar now’

Taehyung replied that he'll be down in a second as he was waiting for the elevator. Soon, the sound of the ding was heard, and he stepped inside the elevator. He pressed the ground floor button and watched as the doors closed. He went down and down all the floors as he was on the building's fifth floor. Arriving on the ground floor, he stepped out of the elevator and out of the apartment building's lobby towards the street down the small amount of stairs.

Taehyung stood at the bottom of the stairs, on the street as he looked up and down it, looking for Jeongguk, and he saw him waiting with his back against the staircase concrete wall.

“Hey” Taehyung tapped Jeongguk's shoulder to gain his attention and watched as the other male looked up from his phone with his soft doe eyes.

“How was the streaming event?” Taehyung asked as he watched the other pocket his phone.

“It was fun, it was my first time doing something like that, I would want to do it again, but I haven't seen any more events like that coming up..” Jeongguk replied, though his tone near the end indicated that he was sad about it. Even if his tone didn't, his prominent pout upon his lips did.

“Why don't you make one yourself?” Taehyung asked as they started to make their way down the street in the direction of the restaurant Taehyung wanted to take Jeongguk to. “I can even help set it up if you'd like”

Jeongguk glanced up at him for a second before humming in thought. “Maybe..” He sighed out.

“But I wouldn't know what to do it for.. the event I went to was for charity, getting donations, and playing games to give the audience something to watch.. those who donated more than one hundred USD were put into a raffle to win something from a giveaway..” He explained as he pulled his lips tightly before shaking his head. “I don't think I have a big enough audience for something like that..”

“If you were invited to that event, then you must have a big enough audience,” Taehyung pointed out. “..and to tell you the truth, I was watching as well”

“You were..?” Jeongguk gasped. “Oh I hope that didn't kill any appearing attraction towards me” He laughed.

“It didn't actually..” Taehyung smiled. He started to think about how the other looked when he was concentrating on the game he was playing. It was a horror game, but with each night finished, they unlocked a goal to showcase a secret thing.

“Oh?” Jeongguk almost tripped on his boots in his step in shock. “How so..?”

Taehyung smiled. “The way you looked whilst playing that game and biting your lip in concentration, it was quite cute” He giggled.

“I bite my lip..?” Jeongguk muttered to himself confusedly. “Huh, I never knew that..”

“Well you do,” Taehyung smiled.

“So where are you taking me?” Jeongguk asked as he looked around the street to try and figure out any clue as to where they were going.

“To the local BBQ place..” Taehyung replied with a guilty laugh. “Budget..sorry”

“Nah it’s okay” Jeongguk shook his head. “BBQ is always good” He smiled. “As long as there are lamb skewers on the menu too”

“Oh there is,” Taehyung nodded as they turned a corner to the left.

“Ah good!” Jeongguk exclaimed happily. “I love lamb skewers!”

“One of my friends, Yoongi, does too,” Taehyung replied as they came up to the BBQ place. “I hope you like them here. Sometimes, different places make them differently, and then they taste different” Taehyung shrugged.

“That's true,” Jeongguk nodded. “But I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway, I love food,” Jeongguk laughed.

“That's good” Taehyung smiled and led the other male inside the BBQ place to one of the tables near the back of the BBQ place.

“Here, you go,” Taehyung said as he pulled out a chair for the other.

“Thank you” Jeongguk giggled.

Taehyung then made his way to sit opposite Jeongguk, and they pulled out a couple of menus from the little box by the side of the table closest to the wall. They looked over what they wanted, and Jeongguk did want the lamb skewers.

“I'll get some pork belly, beef tongue, beef short ribs, and chicken for us to cook and eat, is that okay?” Taehyung asked as he looked up from the menu.

“That sounds good, I'll pay for half of the meal-”

“No, no, it's okay” Taehyung shook his head.

“I can't just pay for the lamb skewers Taehyung-ssi-” Jeongguk then stopped speaking for a second. “Hey, how come you don't call your friends ‘hyung’?” He asked.

“Oh! Well, I've known them for so long. We just sort of dropped it..” Taehyung shrugged. “Why do you ask?”

“It's just.. I was wondering if it was okay for me to call you Taehyung-hyung?” Jeongguk asked as he lowered his gaze back to the menu.

“Oh-” Taehyung blinked in surprise. “Uhm.. yeah, that's okay, that's totally fine” He nodded.

“Cool” Jeongguk nodded, and Taehyung watched as he saw red splotches appear upon the other's neck.

“So uh.. Taehyung-hyung” Jeongguk glanced back up at the male. “What do you do for work? You know what I do, I don't know what you do”

“Oh, I'm an architect,” Taehyung replied with a nod of his head. “I'm currently working on plans for a new building over by the han river”

“Oh? What type of building?” Jeongguk asked.

“Just a new standard apartment complex.. nothing special..” Taehyung sighed. “I want to make my own design one day” He nodded to himself.

“What would you want to design?”

Taehyung smiled slightly as he looked away from the other male for a second before looking back and replying. “It may be a small dream, but I would like to design and build my own house one day”

“For yourself....?” Jeongguk trailed off.

"No, no, for my future family, my future husband and kids..” Taehyung frowned. “Sorry, I know some people find others talking of marriage too early, a bit of a pressure on them..”

“No, it's okay, I like that you have a plan for the future,” Jeongguk smiled. “And I hope whoever it may be will be able to have input in the home as well” He laughed.

“Oh yeah, of course,” Taehyung nodded with a smile.

“Anything”

Jeongguk smiled.

“Kids.. your father designed that gaming room that you guys play in all the time, I was the one who designed the cinema room in the basement.. I enjoyed his input about the gaming room… he was so enthusiastic about it”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 5

The Signal.

“Taehyung, that was the signal!” Seokjin exclaimed.

“No it wasn't,” Taehyung denied. “I know what the signal is, and that wasn't the signal” He shook his head as he took a sip of his beer.

“Taehyung, as your best friend-” Taehyung gave Jimin a look of ‘are you sure about that?’ “I can tell you if that was the single or not from being with so many people and Taehyung, I have to say, yes, that was the signal”

“I'm telling you guys it was not the signal,” Taehyung sighed.

“Kids..This all started after I told them about the date I took Jeongguk on the day before.. let me tell you how it ended, as I left it on a cliffhanger before.. “

After Taehyung and Jeongguk had ordered their food and ate as they shared more stories about their high school and college days and laughing hard over funny tales. A few made Jeongguk throw his head back in laughter after coming out of his shell and laughing in his hand.

“You know how bunk beds work in a dorm, the top bunk moves, do then the bottom bunk must as well” Taehyung laughed softly as he was telling the other about the time Namjoon forgot Taehyung was asleep in their dorm and the other wanted to have some sexy time with Seokjin.

“Oh no!” Jeongguk laughed. “That must've been horrible” Jeongguk wiped a tear from his eye as he tried to control his giggling.

“At least I told Namjoon to stop before they got too into it” Taehyung replied with a smile still present on his lips, his smile hurting his cheeks.

“What about you? Anything like that happened to you or something else?” Taehyung asked as he picked up his drink of coke.

“Not as.. eventful as that” Jeongguk replied with a small smile. “Because I didn't live in the dorms back in busan, I travelled to college and back home, but there was a time when my older brother came home with a girl and.. well, our walls are weird thin, and our bedrooms were back to back, so the beds are against the same wall.. I got woken more than a few times night, every other night during a good long time”

“Oh no..” Taehyung tried not to laugh as he felt sorry for the other. “Were your parents home when it happened?”

“No! They were away on trips each time!” Jeongguk groaned as he slid down in his chair. “I told them about it, and all they did was tell him not to do it again, but did he listen? No!”

“I'm sorry-” Taehyung tried his hardest not to laugh. “That must've sucked”

“But you know how I feel”

“Exactly,” Jeongguk nodded and then looked down at his empty plate and all the food they ate. “I'm getting sleepy..sorry” He sighed.

“Do you want to wrap this up and head home? We can get some ice cream or something else on the way to your apartment if you want” Taehyung suggested as he started to get his wallet out to pay for their dinner.

“That'll be great, Thank you, Taehyung-hyung,” Jeongguk smiled as he sat up in his chair. “Uh.. are you sure we can't slip the bill? I want to pay for at least half..” Jeongguk pouted.

“I've got it, Jeonggukie, how about you pay for the ice cream?” Taehyung suggested.

“That's a good idea,” Jeongguk nodded.

Taehyung stood up to walk over to the counter to pay for their dinner. “Just wait by the door, and I'll be there soon”

“Okay” Jeongguk nodded and watched as the other walked over to the counter to pay. But before he stood up, he carefully cleaned up their table; placing plates on top of each other and utensils on top of them. He took some napkins and wiped down the table as well where there was some oil spillage.

Jeongguk then stood up and made his way towards the door and waited for the other to come after paying.

“Did you wait long?” Taehyung asked as he came up behind Jeongguk.

“No” He shook his head. “I just got here too,” he smiled.

“Ah okay” Taehyung nodded, and they both stepped out of the BBQ place and back into the street.

“There's a convenient store near my apartment place if you want to go to that one, or we can go to the one closest to yours” Taehyung suggested.

“Either one is fine,” Jeongguk nodded. “I don't mind the one near mine, but I don't want you to talk too far”

“It's not too far” Taehyung shook his head. “We can go to that one” He smiled.

“Okay” Jeongguk smiled. “What type of ice cream do you like?”

“I like the Double Bianco Strawberry one,” Taehyung nodded. “What about you?”

“Okay, so, don't judge me.. but..” Jeongguk took a breath and squeezed his eyes shut. “I like the Lotte Sweet Corn Ice Cream”

“Oh? Really?” Taehyung asked softly in surprise.

“Huh..? Yeah..” Jeongguk replied as he opened his eyes to look at the other. “You don't find that weird?”

“No” Taehyung shook his head. “People have their acquired tastes, Namjoon likes pear-flavored and Seokjin likes Papico flavour ice cream along with Hoseok, Yoongi likes Bungeo-ppang, but he has said what flavor he likes, he just enjoys eating them and Jimin doesn't really have a favourite”

“Oh really?” Jeongguk let a smile grow on his face. “I guess I fit right in then”

“Of course you do,” Taehyung replied with the same wide smile.

As they were talking, they didn't realise they were getting closer and closer to Jeongguk's apartment building and then walking past it to the local convenience store. They were greeted upon entering and then walked to the back where the freezers were.

“Hey and remember, the ice cream is on me” Jeongguk gave the other playful pointed look before he went to go to pick up his sweet corn ice cream from a freezer a couple of feet away from Taehyung.

“Of course” Taehyung laughed as he replied and picked up his own favourite flavour, the Double Bianco Strawberry one.

“Give it here, I'll take them to the counter and pay” Jeongguk placed his hand out for the other's ice cream. Taehyung placed it in his hand and let the other lead the way to the counter.

“Just these two please” Jeongguk said as he placed the ice cream down on the counter for the worker.

“Okay” The worker nodded as she scanned them fairly quickly as Jeongguk pulled out his wallet. She told him the amount to pay, and he handed over a bill to pay it with a smile and got both the ice cream back with some change.

“Thank you” He smiled and gave Taehyung his ice cream as they walked out of the convenience store.

“How are you liking, Seoul?” Taehyung asked as he opened his ice cream packet.

“It's busy, that's for sure,” Jeongguk nodded. “But I am enjoying it so far, there's a lot of nightlife here” He smiled as he opened his own ice cream and took a bite.

“Are you able to sleep with all the noise?” Taehyung asked as they walked towards Jeongguk's apartment building and stood by the entry door.

“Yeah, though I don't sleep until like one or two in the morning due to editing my streams for my VOD channel.. to you know, keep an archive” Jeongguk smiled.

“Oh that makes sense..” Taehyung nodded. “Why don't you pay for an editor?”

“I prefer to do it myself.. it's my own flair” Jeongguk shrugged.

“That's fair,” Taehyung nodded as he agreed.

Then there was a comfortable silence for a while and Jeongguk caught his bottom lip between his teeth slightly as he looked at the other's eyes one at a time before looking at Taehyung's lips and then looking back up to his eyes. He then let his lip move back into the normal position before he tucked a strand of hair out the way of his own face.

“I'll see you at the bar tomorrow?” Jeongguk asked softly. A smile playing on his lips.

“Uh yes, we usually hang out there after a long day” Taehyung nodded, being unaware of the look Jeongguk gave him.

“Cool, I'll see you then” Jeongguk nodded. “Thanks for dinner, Taehyung-hyung. we should plan our second date soon”

“Of course, let me know when and we can sort out anything” Taehyung nodded and watched as Jeongguk made his way inside his apartment building.

“See you tomorrow” Jeongguk gave a small wave.

“See you” Taehyung replied and made sure the other was inside the building before leaving.

“Kids..I was dumb..”

“Taehyung! That was the signal!” Namjoon exclaimed.

“He wanted you to kiss him!” Seokjin exclaimed.

“No he did not” Taehyung shook his head. “I know what the signal is, and that wasn't it!”

“I asked him years later, and yes, kids, that was the signal..”

Chapter 6

The Pineapple Incident

"It was a wild night. At least that's what I was told by your uncle's Jimin and Hoseok… I couldn't remember anything about that night after I woke up.. though waking up with a pineapple on your bedside table wasn't the strangest thing to happen..”

“Huh..” Taehyung stared at the pineapple sitting upon his bedside table, placed right beside his lamp. He was still in a sleepy haze but got out of bed. He took the pineapple in hand and walked out of his room to the apartment living room.

“Hey guys…Did anything weird happen last night?” Taehyung asked as he held up the pineapple.

“You went out with Jimin and Hoseok to get drunk and party,” Namjoon replied from the couch. “Just to stop them pestering you for another month..”

“Oh.. but that doesn't explain the pineapple” Taehyung pointed at the pineapple in his hand.

“Yeah, we don't know either, you just came back to the apartment holding it, giggling, for some strange reason.. but you were very drunk” Seokjin added as he walked out from the kitchen with a cup of tea in hand to go sit next to Namjoon.

“Oh well..” Taehyung shrugged. “I'll figure out what happened at some point..who wants pineapple juice?”

“I do!” Namjoon rushed to get up from the couch and run to the kitchen. “And I'll cut it up too!” He excitedly exclaimed as he walked out of the kitchen with a big, sharp kitchen knife.

“How about I cut it Joon” Taehyung walked over to grab the knife from his hand. “We don't want to have another hospital trip”

Namjoon nodded. “That's true”

“What were the other ones?” Seokjin asked.

“Broken toe, broken finger-” Taehyung started to list off with his fingers around the handle of the knife. “Uh..”

“Broken collar bone,” Namjoon added.

“Yes that one too, uh.. oh! And you're gonna laugh at this Seokjin, he fractured his tailbone!” Taehyung laughed.

“How?” Seokjin looked at his fiancé with a concerned look.

“Fell down the stairs whilst at college in my first year before I met you” Namjoon replied with a smile.

“How long did that take to heal?” Seokjin looked really concerned at this point

“Around eight to twelve weeks.. give or take” Namjoon replied as he let Taehyung walk into the kitchen.

“Hey! Is our blender working?” Taehyung asked through the doorway. “The last time we use it Namjoon was the one using it”

“I think so..” Namjoon replied.

“Well, if it doesn't, I can just put the pineapple in the fridge until we get a new one” Taehyung replied as he started to chop up the pineapple.

As he was cutting up the pineapple he heard the apartment door open with a hefty bang and two sets of footsteps walking in.

“Where's Taehyung?” Jimin asked as he walked into the apartment with Hoseok training behind.

“I'm here, what are you two doing here?” Taehyung asked as he walked out of the kitchen to see the two.

“You party animal!” Hoseok turned and placed his hands upon Taehyung's shoulders. “You were so crazy last night!”

“Wait, maybe you guys could tell Taehyung what happened,” Namjoon said as he sat down on the couch again next to Seokjin. “He doesn't remember,” Namjoon pointed out as he looked at the three standing.

“You, Taehyung, got so drunk!” Jimin started.

“So drunk!” Hoseok echoed.

“And! It was legen- wait for it-” Jimin raised an index finger.

“-dary” Hoseok finished.

“Legendary!” They both exclaimed.

“What exactly did I do?” Taehyung asked. “And it better not be something embarrassing” he glared at the two.

“Well, we went to a club, the new one, O.K” Jimin started. “And we got drinks, started to hit on both guys and girls, ya know”

“By ‘we’ we mean Jimin and I,” Hoseok clarified. “Taehyung was talking about Jeongguk so much, like the lovestruck fool he is,” he rolled his eyes.

“Anyway! We were dancing and Taehyung got really drunk and we decided to take him back here” Jimin explained.

“Were there pineapples at the event?” Namjoon asked.

“Pineapples?” Jimin wondered.

“Yeah, I woke up with a pineapple on my bedside table” Taehyung replied and sat down on a one seater seat.

“There wasn't any there, to my memory anyway” Jimin looked at Hoseok who shook his head.

“Maybe it was something else?” Hoseok offered with a shrug . “All I know is we took him home before one am”

“I don't remember anything else from last night either,” Taehyung shook his head. He then stood up and ran to his room and back out with his phone in hand.

“What are you doing Taehyung?” Seokjin asked as they all watched Taehyung go through his phone.

“Making sure I didn't send anything weird to Jeongguk” Taehyung swiped and tapped around his screen. “I didn't, good”

“You didn't accidentally call him?” Jimin asked.

Taehyung looked up at Jimin and then went back to his phone to check if he had called Jeongguk.

“Did you..?” Namjoon hesitantly asked.

“No,” Taehyung sighed in relief. “I don't need to worry” He sat back down on the single seated chair.

“Good” Namjoon sighed as well.

“Kids…It took a while for us to figure out where that pineapple came from, but that's a story for another day… why? Honestly, you need context for the surrounding story”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 7

Wedding Rescue

"Kids, did I ever tell you the story of the time I had to save your father from being at that wedding he had to attend? Well, it started off with me laying at home on the couch..”

“Namjoon, don't forget the dip for the chips for when we watch the upcoming game” Taehyung shouted as he watched tv, lounging across the couch.

“I won't and also should I get some sandwiches?” Namjoon asked as he walked across the apartment, stuffing his pockets with his wallet, keys and phone.

“Yes! But get them closer to the time” Taehyung nodded.

“Got it!” Namjoon replied as he opened the apartment door to leave and closed it behind him.

Taehyung continued to watch tv, skimming through channels to look for something to watch for the morning of the weekend. He threw the remote away after turning the tv off when he found nothing interesting on. He sighed and rubbed his face with his hands before he jumped from the sound of his phone going off.

Taehyung picked it up and saw that Jeongguk was calling him. With a confused look, as he knew the other was at a wedding, he then picked up the call.

“Hey Jeonggukie, what's up?” Taehyung asked as he answered the call.

“Taehyung hyung.. I need help escaping from this wedding” Jeongguk whispered through the call. His voice was somewhat echoing.

“Escaping? I thought it was important” Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.

“Not really, it's a friends, best friends wedding, they're not my best friend, and the friend is technically an acquaintance more than a friend..” Jeongguk sighed. “Point is, I need help escaping.. I'm currently hiding in the bathroom by the hall”

“Okay, okay, do I need to dress nice? Or should I just come as myself? Because it may take longer and I also need your location” Taehyung replied as he stood up and walked to his room in the apartment.

“Well, dressing nice may allow you in and not cause suspension but I think I can escape out of the window here.. I just need someone to catch me..” Jeongguk huffed through the phone. The huff sounded like it came through a pout.

“Alright, I'll slip on a suit and make my way over, make sure to put an arm out or something so I can find you when I get there okay?” Taehyung explained to the other as he made his way to his closest and looked through it to find his nicest suit.

“I should've really taken Jimin and Hoseok's offer for a new suit” Taehyung huffed through the phone, which made Jeongguk giggle on the other end quietly.

“Do you want me to stay on the line for you?” Taehyung asked as he placed his phone against his shoulder and held it with his head as he changed his pants.

“Uhm.. yeah, please…” Jeongguk muttered. “I'll be bored otherwise..” He laughed to himself.

“Tell me the location and I'll be there as fast as I can.. with my car that I barely use” Taehyung smiled to himself as he slipped on a nice white dress shirt and a black blazer.

“Okay..” Jeongguk muttered and told Taehyung the location of the wedding ceremony. “Come fast my knight in shining armor” He laughed again.

“I will,” Taehyung replied as he made his way through his apartment to grab his keys and wallet. “Hey.. I won't be able to talk much while driving but I won't end the call” He warned.

“Okay” Jeongguk replied.

Taehyung made his way down to the basement of the apartment building where the car park was through the elevator and upon arriving at the basement level he almost ran to his car. He unlocked it and made sure that his phone was on speaker before he threw his phone onto the passenger seat next to him.

“I won't be too long Jeonggukie, just wait a bit longer” Taehyung spoke louder towards his phone.

“Thank you Taehyung-hyung.. really…” Jeongguk replied through the phone. “I'll.. explain everything in person once you get here but..God I just need to get out of here” He sighed.

“You don't have to explain..” Taehyung replied as he made his way out of the city and towards where the venue was.

“No, no I want to.. I need to..it's a long story though..and I'm not sure how long but..please? I need to tell someone..” Jeongguk spoke softly through the phone and sighed as there was a ruffling noise.

“Are you sure?” Taehyung questioned.

“No,” Jeongguk laughed. “..I'm also worried you may look at me differently as a potential future partner..”

“No, no, never” Taehyung shook his head though the other couldn't see. “It takes a lot for me to be turned off by something, Jeonggukie”

“Okay” Jeongguk replied. “Promise?”

“Promise” Taehyung smiled to himself as he rounded the corner of the street closest to the location. “I'm turning the corner now.. I'm not even a couple of minutes away”

“Okay..” Jeongguk replied and then the sound of a door unlocking and opening echoed through the call. “I'll stick my arm out of the window”

Taehyung hears the other moving and shuffling through the phone, and then the sound of the window opening. “Ah good it can open up wide..”

Taehyung pulled up to the location of the wedding and spotted the other's arms and half his body sticking out of the window out the side of the building. He smiled upon seeing the other man but then frowned seeing the other's eyes red and wet with tears. He parked his car and left it on and he turned to his phone and ended the call.

He stepped out of his car and left the door open. He ran up to the window, which wasn't too high up. Taehyung looked at the other man before looking around the area to make sure there wasn't anyone else around.

“Okay, are you able to jump down?” Taehyung asked as he raised his arms just high enough to where Jeongguk could easily swing over the window ledge and be helped down.

“I think so, yeah..” Jeongguk nodded and swung his legs around and up and over the ledge to slip down into the other's arms.

Taehyung caught him by his waist and carefully lowered him down to his feet. They stayed like that for a second, Jeongguk's hands on Taehyung's shoulders for balance and Taehyung's hands on Jeongguk's waist. That second turned into a minute and was only broken by the sound of someone walking into the bathroom above.

“Shit, come on” Jeongguk moved away from Taehyung's embrace and took his hand to pull him back to Taehyung's car.

Jeongguk ran to the passenger side while Taehyung slid into the driver's seat as he shut the door. He then turned the car around and drove away from the venue of the wedding.

As Taehyung drove, he continued to spare a few glances at Jeongguk, as he took in how the other man looked. His eyes weren't the only thing that took him off guard. His hair looked messy, like he had been running his fingers through it and pulling it. His tie was untied and just left hanging around his neck and his dress shirt was untucked from his pants.

“What happened?” Taehyung asked softly.

“I saw an ex of mine there.. the ex happened to be the acquaintance's best friend's groom..” Jeongguk explained. “He saw me and waited until they finished their ceremony before he came up to me and started to belittle me, saying that I was jealous of his wife and that's why I attended… when really I attended to be supportive of the bride..” Jeongguk sighed and wiped nearly formed tears away from his eyes.

“And now my makeup is ruined..” He laughed softly to himself.

“And that's why you wanted to escape..” Taehyung trailed off.

“Yeah..” Jeongguk nodded.

“I'm sorry..” Taehyung apologised.

“No, don't be, don't apologise-”

“I'm sorry I couldn't have met you sooner, that if I did you wouldn't have been belittled like that or accused of that..” Taehyung sighed.

Jeongguk looked up from his hands with a small blink and looked at the other who was driving. “We can't change the past, but we can make our own future”

“Exactly,” Taehyung nodded as he gave a small smile to the other man. “Do you want to go get a cake and we both eat it ourselves?”

“In suits?” Jeongguk questioned.

“Why not? Our own fake wedding to mock your exes” Taehyung's smile grew bigger.

“Sure, why not indeed?”

“Kids… that's how your father and I's tradition started. When one of us has a bad day, we get changed into our best suits and go eat a whole cake..”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 8

Dogs

“Kids, it wasn't everyday you had a pretty man knock on your door in the middle of the night… but it happened.”

“Namjoon and Seokjin were away on a small trip to see Namjoon's family for about a week and I had the apartment to myself..”

“I was dead asleep in bed, when the sound of the front door of the apartment being hit caused me to wake up and almost fall out of bed..”

Taehyung caught himself with his blankets and let out a sigh of both relief and tiredness from being woken up. He sat up in his bed and looked at his alarm clock and furrowed his eyebrows at the glaring red number that faced him. It was almost two o'clock in the morning on a weekend.

Taehyung stayed still for a second listening for any noise again, then he heard the door being knocked on again. Taehyung stumbled to his feet, making his way out of his room and to the front door. He turned the light on and then unlocked the door and opened it and stood for a second taking in what he saw.

It was Jeongguk. His eyes were red rimmed and teary, cheeks wet with tears, his hair dishevelled from the wind of the night and in his arms was a dog. Wrapped up in the other's jacket that Jeongguk had graciously wrapped around it to protect the poor little baby from the cold.

“T-taehyung- I- I didn't know what else to do, where else to go, I just saw him in the ally on my way home and I'm not sure if my apartment allows animals-”

“Just come in, Jeonggukie” Taehyung gestured for the other to come inside with a small smile.

“Really? Thank you so much-” Jeongguk rushed in and started to whisper to the dog in his arms and sniffed to himself as he sat, not on the couch but on the floor.

Taehyung shut and locked the door behind him and moved to sit down by Jeongguk, who just sat hunched over the dog in his arms.

“Get comfortable on the couch, I'll get some water for him and I'll look for some food for him too, okay?” Taehyung tried to catch the others' eyes with his own but couldn't. He placed a hand on the other's back to rub up and down his spine to try and calm him down.

“I.. I don't want to be away from him..” Jeongguk shook his head.

“Then I'll go get my blankets and make a makeshift bed for him on the ground here, okay?”

“Okay” Jeongguk nodded.

“I'll be back in a minute, I'll try not to take too long, if I am, just yell for me” Taehyung told the other before getting up and rushing towards his own room.

Jeongguk didn't reply, he just nodded. Taehyung stood up and almost ran to his bedroom. He scooped up his duvet and blankets and even a pillow before walking back out of his bedroom and to where Jeongguk was sitting.

Taehyung placed the duvet down and directed Jeongguk to place the dog on the soft duvet before taking the jacket off and placing the blanket on top. Taehyung then slipped the pillow under the dog's head to keep it upright.

“I'll be back with some food and water okay?” Taehyung let the other know while he watched Jeongguk softly pet the dog's head.

“Okay..” his voice was broken.

Taehyung stood up and walked to his kitchen to look through the fridge to find someone suitable for a dog. He saw he had some roast chicken in a container. It had been cooked so it was safe for the dog.

“Do you have a name for him..?” Taehyung asked as he started to take the chicken out of the fridge and place it into a different bowl.

“Uh.. I don't know..” Jeongguk muttered to himself. “Bam..? Maybe.. Yeah, Bam..”

“Bam it is then” Taehyung smiled as he came back with the bowl of roast chicken for Bam. He placed it down and looked at Jeongguk.

“He'll be okay” Taehyung reassured as he dragged his hand up and down Jeongguk's arm.

“He was shaking and cold..” Jeongguk pouted as he watched Bam move to sniff the roasted chicken before deciding to eat it.

“I'll get some water as well, keep an eye on him”

“Already am” Jeongguk replied softly.

Taehyung chuckled softly at the reply before he stood up and made his way back to the kitchen for some water for Bam.

“Taehyungie…?” Jeongguk called softly.

“Yes?” Taehyung replied as he grabbed another bowl to fill it with water.

“Where are Namjoon and Seokjin?” He asked softly. “If they were here they would've woken up by now”

“Oh they went to see Namjoon's family for the week” Taehyung replied as he walked back out with the bowl of water. He placed it by the other bowl for Bam.

“Did.. did I wake you?” Jeongguk asked sheepishly.

“Why do you-?” Taehyung was about to ask but then looked down at what he was wearing. Just a shirt and boxer briefs. “Oh.. yeah…”

“Sorry” Jeongguk giggled.

“No, no it's okay” Taehyung laughed. “I'll grab some spare blankets we have so you can sleep in my bed if you want”

“And where would you sleep?” Jeongguk asked.

“Out here, the guest should be the one to sleep comfortably” Taehyung smiled.

“Maybe..” Jeongguk then frowned. “But I'd rather be near Bam..”

“How about I make a makeshift bed out here for the night then?” Taehyung suggested. “For the both of us”

Jeongguk nodded. “Please, that'll be good”

“Okay I'll be back then” Taehyung nodded and stood up. He then stopped where he stood and looked down at the other, who was in uncomfortable jeans and a loose long sleeved shirt but his puffer jacket was in his arm.

“Do you want a change of clothes as well?”

“Uhm..” Jeongguk looked down at his jeans and then looked up at Taehyung. “Yeah, please, if it's not too much trouble”

“It's not, I'll be back in a second” Taehyung smiled.

Taehyung then walked to his room to grab some items for Jeongguk to wear and to grab some blankets and another duvet.

“Kids, that night changed something between us, I saw Jeongguk in another way, more than the potential date; than the potential ‘lover’.. he was more than that to me, he became my one and only, my ‘the one’”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 9

Kids Talk.

“Kids, before your Uncle's Seokjin and Namjoon had Hungyu and Ji-hee via a surrogate, we had a very hard and well thought out talk about when we would have kids or if we'd even have any…”

“Of course I want kids in the future, but not for a good long time now,” Namjoon replied to a question that Taehyung had asked.

They all sat at their usual booth in the bar. Drinks in hand and were discussing if in the future they would want kids or not.

“I don't know if I want kids though,” Seokjin shrugged. “Just because I deal with the toddler stage at the kindergarten..” He defended.

“But your kids wouldn't be like that Jin” Taehyung pointed out. “The ones at the kindergarten are raised by people who don't know how to raise kids, I'm sure you'll be a good parent” He nodded.

“I guess..” Seokjin sighed.

“I want kids, two at least,” Jeongguk replied with a small nod.

“I do too,” Taehyung replied with a smile, and Jeongguk looked at him with wide eyes.

“two of them?” Jeongguk asked.

“Yeap,” Taehyung nodded.

“Any names picked out?” Jeongguk wondered.

“No, I'd always said I'd let my partner pick them out,” Taehyung replied.

“Aww that's sweet of you Taehyung” Seokjin smiled.

“Yeah, I mean I'm not great at coming up with names, Even Jeonggukie here came up with Bam's name” Taehyung gestured to Jeongguk next to him. “I just don't have that type of creativity for names, buildings? Yes”

“Jeongguk, what names have you picked out?” Seokjin asked.

“Yes, one name would be Byeol, and the other Eun-ji,” Jeongguk replied.

“Oh those are very pretty,” Seokjin replied with a smile.

“Yeah..” Taehyung breathed out. Those names were very beautiful and very pretty. He never knew a name could be that pretty. But then again two pretty names coming from someone with a pretty name and face made sense. “Very pretty…”

“Taehyung, come back to earth there,” Namjoon teased.

“Huh..?” Taehyung blinked and he realised he was just staring at Jeongguk. “Oh yeah, yeah they're very pretty names” He felt his ears get warm from embarrassment.

“Would you want two boys or two girls?” Taehyung asked as he took a sip of beer.

“I don't mind either, as long as they're healthy,” Jeongguk nodded.

“Would you adopt or surrogacy ?” Namjoon asked. “I want to do surrogacy to be honest, but I don't mind if adopting if needed”

“If I were to want kids later, surrogacy would be the easiest to go for me too,” Seokjin agreed.

“Oh.. I'm not sure, I want to adopt or even try surrogacy but it's whatever my partner wants” Taehyung replied and as he was about to turn to Jeongguk, the male stood up from the booth and walked to the exit back door of the bar that lead to the ally.

“I wonder what that was about..” Seokjin muttered.

“I'm not sure, but I'll go check on him” Taehyung then stood up and made his way out the back exit door to see Jeongguk sitting on the ground against another building beside it.

Jeongguk looked up at the sound of the door opening and his eyes widened when he saw that it was Taehyung walking towards him.

“What was..? No.. What's wrong..?” Taehyung asked softly. “Did we say something that bothered you? Just tell us and we'll be more careful about it”

“No, no, you guys didn't say anything wrong…” Jeongguk shook his head.

“Then what?” Taehyung asked as he sat down next to the other.

“You guys have a choice, you guys can choose adoption or surrogacy or even either, I can't..”

“What do you mean ‘you can't’?”

Jeongguk glanced at Taehyung for a second then looked away to his hands. He took a breath before replying.

“... I have PMDS..Persistent Müllerian Duct Syndrome” Jeongguk quietly admitted. “It's a mutilation in which I developed a fully formed womb, ovaries, tubes, the works..and of course I also developed a penis and that fully developed alongside the womb but.. no female parts outside.. no vaginal stuff..” He chuckled softly at how he was explaining it.

“Oh..” Taehyung breathed and leant his head back against the wall behind him. “Which means..?”

“Well, my development of it.. means there's this flap of muscle in me that moves every now and then.. I don't feel it, it doesn't hurt..but there is a rare chance of me having kids..” Jeongguk explained and let out a sigh. “I'm sorry if you find me strange now.. or even a weird freak of nature..”

“What?!” Taehyung shouted and looked back at Jeongguk. “Never.. I would never think of you like that”

“But..?-”

“But what?” Taehyung questioned. “Seriously, I would never think of you that way, why would I when I want this-” he gestured to each of them. “-to be serious, I want it to be but I don't want to push you into anything, I don't want to make you do anything-”

“You want us to be serious?” Jeongguk asked softly. “Like a proper relationship..?”

“Yes” Taehyung nodded and then realised what he said. “God I wanted this to be more romantic.. a beautiful dinner date.. maybe even a movie in my apartment..”

“We can still do that..” Jeongguk smiled sheepishly. “It'll just be for our first.. ki- official proper date.. yeah”

“The other date wasn't?” Taehyung asked, not catching what the other stammered out.

“That was more casual,” He laughed.

“Oh I see then” Taehyung laughed along. “Right, a nice, romantic dinner date then, when?”

“Tomorrow? If that works for you?” Jeongguk suggested.

“That works” He nodded. “No wonder you had names picked out..”

“Shouldn't all fathers?” Jeongguk asked sarcastically.

“Well, not me,” Taehyung replied with the same sarcasm.

They both laughed for a second before Taehyung stood back up and wiped down his pants to get rid of any dirt or dust from it.

“Come on, I bet the other two are wondering if we're okay or not” Taehyung turned to give the other male his hand.

“I bet they're wondering if we're making out or not,” Jeongguk joked as he took Taehyung's hand and pulled himself up.

“You're on,” Taehyung laughed.

Kids, your father always chooses the prettiest and coolest names for things, pets and even you guys, Byeol, Eun-ji..”

Notes:

Hi!

Omg im so sorry that I'm like over 2 and a half hours over the time I said!!

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 10

Firsts.

“Kids, your father and I's first kiss was something magical, to say the very least, Something you would only see in movies. Later your father would admit that it was the best kiss he's ever had in his life”

Taehyung and Jeongguk sat at a table by the wall in a fancy restaurant; the lights were low but the white walls with white drapes made up for the lighting. Their table had a candle in the middle of it and they had their plates in front of them respectively. The candle was scentless to not take away from the scent of the food. Their plates were empty but had remnants of sauce still on it.

“Are you able to stomach dessert?” Taehyung asked as he watched the other man huff in his seat and almost slide off of it.

“Dessert?” Jeongguk looked at Taehyung with one eye open. “Are you trying to make me explode?” He laughed before sitting up and resting his elbows on the table.

“If you don't want any we can leave?” Taehyung suggested.

“Can we leave and have dessert at a cheap convenient store?” Jeongguk asked. “I feel the need to pay for dessert at least”

“Hey, hey, no, no, I'm the one paying for this date, you can plan and pay for the next one, fair?” Taehyung instead suggested.

“Fair” Jeongguk nodded. “I'll make sure the next one is fun but within my content creator budget” He laughed.

“Don't you get more money than me?” Taehyung hummed.

“Maybe..but I don't like flaunting it, ya know?” Jeongguk shrugged as he fiddled with the napkin on the table.

“Fair enough” Taehyung nodded. “I don't either”

“Really?” Jeongguk raised an eyebrow. “So not showing it off is taking me to a fancy restaurant?” He teased.

“This isn't that far up the latter of being fancy” Taehyung replied. “The most fancy and expensive restaurant has to be booked months in advance and this was on short notice” He smiled.

“Oh?” Jeongguk nodded. “Then book a date for us”

“What if we're both busy that day?” Taehyung asked.

“We'll make sure we're not, if we want this to be serious then let's treat it like such, book that date and we'll make sure that we'll only have that dinner that day” Jeongguk reasoned.

“You make a good point” Taehyung laughs. “I'll do it later”

“Good” Jeongguk nodded. “So.. about that dessert idea..?”

Taehyung laughed at how fast the other could change the topic to food and nodded as he called one of the wait staff over to paid for the bill.

Once paid the two men stood up from the table and made their way towards the entrance and exit way of the restaurant. Upon stepping out they were hit with a chill in the air and rain falling heavily down. The streets were barren from cars and the water flowed through the gutters on the side of the road.

“Oh..” Taehyung breathed. “I guess we can't get that ice cream-” He trailed off as he watched Jeongguk step out and into the rain, on to the street.

Jeongguk started to turn around in the rain, hands out to feel each drop of water land on him and he was smiling; practically giggling to himself. He was almost glowing in the street lights.

“Come dance with me, hyung” Jeongguk gestured for the other to come to him.

“I'm not sure-” Taehyung hesitated.

“Hyung, live a little” Jeongguk giggled.

Taehyung just stared at the other for just a second. Though within that second he felt everything fall into place. He took a step forward and another and another as he stepped out and into the pouring rain. His hands made their way to Jeongguk's already soaking wet shirt and squeezed his hands to hold the other's waist tightly. The wet fabric felt oddly weird and oddly romantic. He felt the other's arms lay themselves on his shoulders and they started to waltz in the flooded streets.

As they danced, Jeongguk started to hum a soft yet enchanting tune that made Taehyung's heart skip a beat. He felt how his right hand left the other's waist and moved to cup Jeongguk's cheek, making him look up at his eyes. Jeongguk's eyes held confusion and curiosity as he watched Taehyung slowly move his face closer to his. Taehyung placed his forehead agasint Jeongguk's and kept their eyes locked.

“May I kiss you?” Taehyung asked softly as though it was a secret.

Jeongguk's eyes fluttered at the question but nodded his head. “You may”

Taehyung then moved to place his lips upon the others; a soft press upon the other's glossy, strawberry flavoured lips and then sighed finally feeling the other's plump lips with his own.

Jeongguk on the other hand, almost felt his knees give out from how loving, how soft and sweet the other man was. He felt the soft brush of the other's thumb against his cheek bone and he felt his body relax against the other's. He wondered if that's how his body reacted with something this sweet, how would it react to something more?

There was rain dripping down their face, dripping into their lips and tickling against their ears as it dropped from their hair.

Pulling away Taehyung looked at Jeongguk, even though the street light was of a yellow colour; his skin still glowed like the moon. He took note of how there was a redness blooming upon Jeongguk's cheeks and down his neck.

“Are you cold?” Taehyung teased softly.

“Uh..” Jeongguk blinked softly to himself as he slowly realised that his body was cold; the tips of his fingers burned from the cold. “Oh, yeah..”

“Here” Taehyung stepped back and took off his coat that was warm and dry on the inside and wrapped it around the other. “Wanna go to my place or yours?”

“I don't have much room..” Jeongguk admitted softly. “So.. yours?” He smiled shyly before he shivered.

“I'll make some hot chocolate for us too,” Taehyung smiled.

“That'll be perfect” Jeongguk replied and they made their way quickly back to the footpath and started to run down the footpath down towards Taehyung's apartment building and up the stairs to the front doors.

They stepped inside and walked to the elevator. Upon pressing the button the doors opened and may their way in to go up.

“Kids, that's when I realised I fell for your father”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 11

Pining.

"Kids, Do you want to hear how I fell in love with your Appa here?”

Moving to Seoul wasn't exactly what Jeongguk had in mind for his career path but he can go where his work needed him. Being a content creator meant he could still do his job whilst moving around, he'd still have income rolling in whilst he was moving or traveling. Not too stressful. Being at a bachelor party wasn't on his list either. Nor seeing his ex there.

Looking for love actually was on his life path. He just didn't expect for it to be in the form of a handsome guy from Daegu, who works as an architect in the day and drinks with his best friend's from college at night. What he didn't expect were the fancy dates ending in ice cream at a cheap convenient store. The bills weren't split by meal but by who was taking who out and not to mention the guy— Taehyung allowed him to bring a dog he found in an alley into his apartment for a few days.

Hell, Jeongguk didn't expect Taehyung to be okay with his mutation. He doesn't like to mention it to potential future partners but he was surprised that Taehyung wanted to make their dating actually serious.

“Eomma, I think I found a decent guy here,” Jeongguk said over the phone. He was sitting in his apartment with bams head in his lap as they lay on the couch.

“oh! That's good” she replied. “..is he okay with..?

Jeongguk knew what she was getting at. “I told him about it and immediately he said he wanted us to get actually serious, he was fine with it” He shrugged.

“That's good! I'm happy for you sweetheart!” His eomma replied.

“I am too..” Jeongguk sighed dreamily. “I think..well I know I like him, but..I..” He was going to continue when he heard a knock at his door.

“Hold on eomma someone's knocking, I'll talk to you later okay?” Jeongguk spoke quickly as he watched Bam sit up and look at the door, about to run over to it.

Okay sweetheart! Bye”

Jeongguk hung up the call and made his way over to the door to look through the peephole and smiled when he saw Taehyung standing there.

“Hey!” Jeongguk greeted as he opened the door slightly to make sure Bam didn't run out and jump onto Taehyung. “What are you doing here?”

“Do you want to see something crazy?’ Taehyung asked. “Like really crazy?”

“..sure..?” Jeongguk replied with a confused tone.

“Are you sure?” Taehyung asked. “Because Jimin and Hoseok tricked two girls from another country to have a four way and they can't get away from the girls so they're gonna put on a performance to say they have to leave the country”

“And how will this end?” Jeongguk was already used to those two and their playboy ways.

“With things being thrown at them,” Taehyung replied with a nod. “So do you wanna watch?”

“Sure, I'll buy the popcorn” Jeongguk nodded and grabbed his jacket, keys, phone and wallet and slipped on his shoes.

“Let's go!” Taehyung shouted as he grabbed the other's hand to lead him to where to go. “Also it's happening laughing duck”

Jeongguk giggled as he turned to shut his door with a quick goodbye to Bam as he was being pulled along out of his apartment and down the halls and down a flight of stairs to the ground floor.

He was laughing to himself at how excited Taehyung was to show what was about to happen to Jimin and Hoseok.

They had to be quick though to get there as Taehyung knew how long it would take before something actually funny would happen.

By the time they got to the laughing duck and through the front door, they quickly made their way to the booth where Namjoon and Seokjin sat.

“Did I miss anything?” Taehyung gasped as he sat down.

“No, they're still in the same position as when you left to get Jeongguk,” Seokjin replied.

The two turned their heads to look at the bar where Jimin and Hoseok were being bombarded with questions by the two girls and Jimin and Hoseok were trying to explain where they have to go and it's only the two of them that can go because it's a business expense.

“I bet you the two girls will throw their drinks on them,” Taehyung whispered into Jeongguk's ear.

“Really?” Jeongguk glanced quickly at Taehyung as he replied and then looked back at the girls.

“When?”

Taehyung was quiet for a few minutes. He placed an arm over Jeongguk's shoulders. This made Jeongguk turn to look at him and he watched as the other's eyes shifted around and an eyebrow raised for a fraction of a second; he licked his lips and then smiled.

“Right..” Taehyung brought up his hand and placed his fingers and thumb on Jeongguk's chin to turn his head to face the scene. Jeongguk felt his heart hammer in his chest at the touch.

“Now”

As Jeongguk looked at the scene he watched as the two girls splashed their drinks on Jimin and Hoseok faces before scoffing as they walked away leaving the two men to wipe the alcoholic drink away from their eyes with a napkin.

“There we go” Taehyung laughed and finally took his fingers away from Jeongguk's chin to pick up his own drink to take a drink from it.

Jeongguk felt himself gulp from the soft brush of the other's fingers against his skin.

Before Jeongguk could even reply or even ask what that was, Jimin and Hoseok made their way over to the booth they sat at.

“So what lie did you guys make up this time?” Namjoon asked as soon as the two sat down.

“It wasn't a lie, we really do have a business trip that's out of the country” Jimin replied as he tapped at his face with the napkin.

“What is it that you two do for work again?” Jeongguk asked still a bit out of it from the actions that Taehyung did.

“Wouldn't you like to know?” Hoseok replied sarcastically.

“Don't ask Jeonggukie, we've tried asking before and they said the same thing” Taehyung smiled as he looked at Jeongguk.

“I would've thought Jimin would say it,” Jeongguk replied.

“Nope” Jimin shook his head.

“Oh” Jeongguk sighed out.

“Don't worry about it Jeonggukie” Taehyung smiled as he let his fingers brush against Jeongguk's shoulder.

“When do you leave?” Taehyung asked as he slightly pulled the other closer, making Jeongguk feel heat rise to his cheeks.

“Tomorrow morning” Hoseok replied as he sighed. “We're gonna need to get new suits”

“Oh yeah..” Jimin sighed. “We'll just go to our guy”

As the others talked to each other, Jeongguk couldn't help but look at Taehyung as he smiled and laughed at the story and conversations going on.

Jeongguk felt his heart swell and beat faster; he felt like he was floating, like when Taehyung and him kissed. He couldn't help but laugh with Taehyung softly as he looked at him with a lovestruck look.

It took less than a second for Jeongguk to realise he could spend the rest of his life with Taehyung. It took no time for him to realise that he fell in love with Taehyung.

“Kids, don't tell your father this but he realistically had my heart the moment he said he wanted to be with me even with my mutation”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 12

The Olive Theory.

“Kids, your uncle's Namjoon and Seokjin's early years started with the olive theory- I did mention this before, but I didn't tell you the context”

“...For many years we thought they were perfect, because of their little theory, if one person doesn't like olives then the other eats it, then they're meant to be”

“What's with Namjoon and Seokjin's theory?” Jeongguk asked Taehyung as they sat at the small circular dining table that was by the kitchen in Taehyung's shared apartment.

“What do you mean?” Taehyung raised an eyebrow.

“Like, ‘the olive theory’ what does it mean?” Jeongguk questioned as he ate a chip from a chip bag.

“It means that if one person doesn't like a certain food and the other does then they're the perfect match,” Taehyung explained with a shrug.

Jeongguk hummed before he pressed his lips together in thought. “Are they sure? Are they sure?”

“Probably..” Taehyung shrugged.

“Have you ever had that with someone?”

Taehyung took a second to think; he had never found someone like that before. “No, I haven't..”

“Would you think it's a perfect match if it happens to you?” Jeongguk asked softly before eating another chip.

“Maybe” Taehyung nodded. “What about you?”

“Me? I don't know” Jeongguk shook his head. “Maybe” He teased with a smirk.

“Oh ha ha” Taehyung leant back against his chair and sighed. “Anyway, Do you want a drink? Or anything else to eat?” Taehyung stood up.

“Yeah, do you have any of those ready made sandwiches? Or if not the ingredients for it?” Jeongguk asked as he watched the other walk around to the kitchen.

“We have the ingredients for it, I can make you one if you'd like,” Taehyung smiled.

“Please, oh! Also no tomatoes, they're too mushy for my taste, I have to take them out when I get them from the convenience store” Jeongguk huffed with a whine.

Taehyung stopped walking and looked at the other. “You don't like tomatoes?”

“Yeah..is that bad? Did I say something wrong?” Jeongguk looked at the other with a worry filled expression.

“No, no, it's not bad, it's just.. I love tomatoes” Taehyung replied, almost in disbelief due to their conversation.

“Huh..” Jeongguk's jaw dropped slightly. “I guess the theory is true” He smiled, showcasing his bunny teeth.

“Yeah..” Taehyung breathed before he cleared his throat and continued his way to the kitchen. “What type of meat do you normally have?”

“Any is fine,” Jeongguk replied. “I love lamb or pork or even chicken or steak- like anything is fine”

“Okay cause we only have chicken,” Taehyung replied from the kitchen.

“Cool” Jeongguk replied. “Now who- out of Namjoon and Seokjin, doesn't like olives?” He asked as he stood up and walked to stand in the kitchen doorway.

“Seokjin doesn't, well, that's what Namjoon says” Taehyung replied with a shake of his head. “I'm not too sure because while I have seen Namjoon eat olives, I haven't see Seokjin eat any”

“So? Do you think he does eat olives?” Jeongguk asked as he watched the other cut up some onions. “Or that he's just covering it up?”

“Even if he does, he's doing it to make Namjoon happy,” Taehyung replied. “Namjoon finds joy or even happiness that they have a thing that can bring them closer as a couple, even if Seokjin does tell him that he does like olives then they can make it work, it's just a small thing, it wouldn't make a difference”

Jeongguk hummed as he watched the other place the items of food onto some grain bread with some cheese on top of the chicken and the onion on top of that with the lettuce at the bottom.

“So the point of it is, to see your partner smile?” Jeongguk asked softly as he looked at Taehyung's face, watching as the other concentrated on cutting the sandwich in half diagonally.

“Exactly,” Taehyung nodded and handed the plate with the sandwich on it to Jeongguk.

“Wow..” Jeongguk muttered. “You made it look like a gourmet meal” He laughed as he took the plate in his hands.

“It's nothing special, it's just a sandwich” Taehyung shrugged and made his way back to where he was sitting before at the small dining table.

“But you made it, so that makes me happy” Jeongguk replied with a smile and sat down where he was before.

He picked up one side of the sandwich and took a bite; he hummed at the taste and sighed at the crunch of the lettuce.

Taehyung smiled at how the other looked; cute with his cheeks stuffed with food and his eyebrows furrowed. He laughed when he saw the other throw his head back and let out a heavy sigh.

“This-” Jeongguk covered his mouth as he continued to chew. “This is amazing-”

“Jeonggukie, it's just a sandwich” Taehyung replied with a laugh.

“But it's the best sandwich I've had” Jeongguk insisted as he swallowed his bite. “I don't get time to make them myself because of streaming, so I buy the ready made ones, they're not great, they could be better but god I'll be asking you to make me more of these..”

“Not in a-”

“Definitely not in a sexist way!” Jeongguk exclaimed. “Anyone can game and stream and anyone can be a chef!” He explained

Taehyung laughed. “That's not what I was gonna say” He shook his head.

“Oh-” Jeongguk took another bite and covered his mouth as he spoke. “Then what were you gonna say?”

“I was gonna say ‘not in a partner way?’ But what you said made sense too” Taehyung replied as he watched the other eat.

“I mean..” Jeongguk muttered slowly feeling shy at the mention of them hypothetically being partners. “When you ask me, sure”

“I'll keep that in mind” Taehyung replied with a teasing smirk and then it dropped. “Say, does your fan base know your sexuality? Or even that you're going out with someone?”

“Uh..” Jeongguk thought for a second. “They know my sexuality but not that I'm seeing you”

“Oh?” Taehyung tilted his head.

“I wanna keep this in my private life for now-” Jeongguk nodded. “Until I'm ready to say and you're okay with it”

“Oh! Yeah of course” Taehyung smiled before slapping his forehead. “I'm sorry, I didn't think that you'd want to keep it private”

“No, no, it's okay, my fans know a lot but not everything” Jeongguk replied. “I'd rather tell them when I'm ready and you're okay with it”

Taehyung smiled before reaching over to his hand and grasping it in his own. “Of course I'm okay with it”

“Kids.. the story of how your fathers fans found out will be for another day because it was a shit show and we didn't know how to react to the situation..”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 13

Love, You.

“Kids, some moments don't necessarily need the words of “I love you” to even say them aloud. Sometimes it's in the actions you do, the looks you give or don't notice, or just the soft smiles that appear without knowing”

One night was all it took. One night. One small gaze and one small smile. The smile upon his face made Taehyung's heart flutter evermore. It made the butterflies float around his stomach and back to his heart like it was their home. His gaze unwavering as he rested his face in his hand and let his eyes stay on the man sitting next to him.

Anytime he heard Jeongguk's laugh, Taehyung felt his stomach flip; When he watched the other eat, he was endeared by the furrow of Jeongguk's eyebrows and pout upon his lips with cheeks filled with food. Though, as a man, he would admit to himself that, yes, he does wonder what Jeongguk would look like with his cheeks stuffed with something other than food. Something bigger, something that would make his lips red, covered in saliva and—

“Taehyung”

Taehyung looked away from Jeongguk's face to look at Namjoon who sat across from him. Taehyung raised an eyebrow as he glared slightly at the other.

“Seokjin asked you a question,” Namjoon whispered as he tilted his head to gesture to Soekjin.

“Yes? Sorry Seokjin, what was the question?” Taehyung asked as he shifted in his seat to let his legs be spread. His thigh pressed up against Jeongguk's thigh, which made his body stiffen up. This didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung, who shot a quick glance at Jeongguk before nodding towards Seokjin.

“Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a double date with Joonie and me?” Seokjin asked. “I accidentally booked a four person table at this restaurant and.. well, you know me, I don't like wasting a reservation”

“Ah, yeah sure but that depends on what day” Taehyung asked.

“Next Friday night,” Seokjin replied.

“I'm good for that night,” Taehyung nodded. “What about you, Jeonggukie?” He asked as he moved to place his left hand upon the other's thigh and slid it to lay on the inner thigh.

Jeongguk glanced down at the other's hand quickly before nodding. “I'm free as well”

“Great!” Seokjin smiled. “I'll text you the time and location”

“Cool, thank you” Taehyung nodded and he then squeezed the other thigh within his hand and marvelled at how thick and muscular it was. He couldn't wait to lick, bite and suck marks onto the other's skin, make him wither and only be just broken sounds and–

“Do you have any plans tomorrow?” Jeongguk asked as he took a breath trying to not react to Taehyung's hand.

“Me? Uhm.. well, I have nothing on after three pm, why?” Taehyung asked, letting his voice be smooth and even as he gazed upon the other.

“Ah well, I want to go see that new movie coming out, that thriller? Maybe, horror one” He replied.

“Oh Final Destination, Bloodlines?” Taehyung asked to confirm the movie.

“Yeah that one,” Jeongguk nodded. “So?”

“So what?” Taehyung hummed with a teasing smile.

“Do you want to see it with me?” Jeongguk asked, he felt the tips of his ears heat up from not only asking the question but from Taehyung gripping his thigh again.

“Sure, I actually wanted to see that one too,” Taehyung's smile grew bigger.

“Really?” Jeongguk blinked in shock from the others agreeing.

“Yeah,” Taehyung laughed. “I love the franchise”

“Great!” Jeongguk smiled. “I'll meet you at the cinema just down the road?”

Taehyung nodded and then turned to the bar over his shoulder. “Could I get my usual, Bogum?”

“Coming right up,” Bogum replied. “Anything for anyone else at the table?”

Taehyung turned slightly to gauge the other's reactions and waited for answers.

“Yeah, me too,” Seokjin replied. “My drink is running low”

“Same here,” Namjoon replied with a nod.

“Jeonggukie?” Taehyung glanced at him.

“Uhm..I need to stream later, so just a coke for me” Jeongguk replied. Taehyung nodded and moved his hand up and down Jeongguk's thigh.

“Two more beers and a coke, Bogum” Taehyung said over his shoulder.

“Coming up,” Bogum replied.

“Thank you” Taehyung said back and turned back to the main group.

“Why don't you want a beer, Jeongguk?” Namjoon asked. “You don't normally turn down one”

Jeongguk sighed. “My viewers don't like it when I drink”

“You're a grown man, what they say shouldn't matter to you” Taehyung commented.

“Well.. I did drink on stream once before, you know for a movie, taking a shot each time a certain thing happens” Jeongguk explained, then huffed. “But a bunch of viewers kept commenting about how they didn't like that I was drinking alcohol and that it doesn't look good for me to do and.. god.. some bullshit about how I'm theirs and that they wouldn't let me drink because I'm ‘their baby’” Jeongguk grumbled.

“You need to set some boundaries with them,” Taehyung frowned. He brought his hand up from Jeongguk's thigh to his hair and brushed his fingers through the strands above his ear.

“The majority of them are okay, they know the limits but..” Jeongguk sighed. “It's just those few..”

“Then remind them later on stream” Taehyung urged. “For now drink your coke and enjoy your time here” He smiled.

“Yeah, you're right,” Jeongguk nodded.

Taehyung then moved his hand back down to Jeongguk's thigh and patted it for reassurance.

“Do you need me there with you?” Taehyung asked, just in case the other man wanted support.

“I'll think about it,” Jeongguk nodded.

“Three beers and a coke” Bogum said as he placed down the bottles onto the table.

“Thanks Bogum” Taehyung thanked with a small smile that was only friendly.

“Thank you,” Namjoon replied and took one of the beer bottles for himself and another for Seokjin.

“Thanks Bogum” Jeongguk gave a tired smile to the bartender and took his bottle of coke.

Taehyung took his beer and took a sip as he watched from the corner of his eye how the other opened his coke and took a sip. He placed it back down and let out a heavy huff and slid down a little in the booth and Taehyung's hand slid against his thigh and accidently pressed against his clothed dick.

“Sh- Taehyungie” Jeongguk glanced at Taehyung.

“Sorry, sorry” Taehyung laughed and moved his hand away from Jeongguk's thigh.

“I think you should join me,” Jeongguk nodded.

“Really?” Taehyung gasped.

“Yeah..I know I said I wanted to keep this..” He gestured to the both of them. “Private.. but-”

“How about I sit off camera?” Taehyung suggested.

“Yeah, that could work,” Jeongguk nodded.

“Kids.. those viewers, they were tough.. they were so crazy, it wasn't funny.. that's the next part of this story..”

Notes:

Hi!
Sorry that I pushed it a week, I really do not like doing that but it had to be done cause I was unmotivated to write anything for this last week. Like at all.

But double update this to make up for it.
It'll be the stream next chapter.

Also I wanted to throw in some tension and burn.

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 14

Streaming and Parasocialism.

“Kids… people are idiots”

“..the viewers that kept bugging your father were brats”

“Taehyungie, I don't know about this,” Jeongguk sighed as he slumped in his gaming chair. His pc was on and whirling away with the RGB colours flowing on his fans as they moved to keep the CPU and graphics card cool.

“Jeonggukie, you'll be fine” Taehyung smiled as he leant forward to take the younger man's hand in his own. “I'll be right here with you the whole time” He reassured.

Jeongguk sighed. “I'll probably lose a few followers after this..”

“So what? You'll probably gain more from it” Taehyung replied as he leant back on the couch that Jeongguk had against the wall to the right of his desk, it was for if he had guest streamers over or even sleep streams.

“Are you sure?” Jeongguk asked. His expression taught with worry.

“I'm sure” The older man nodded.

“Okay then..” Jeongguk let out a breath through his teeth as he clicked the ‘Start Steaming’ to start it up on twitch.

He watched as his chat filled with people saying hello and how are yous and filled with emotes for excitement for the stream. He took another breath and let it out shakely.

“Hey, chat.. uhm.. before I get started on the scheduled stream for today I wanted to have a quick, but serious talk with you all” Jeongguk spoke with a small shake in his tone.

“Now, the reason for this is because there are a few of you who have taken parasocialism too far..” He started as he moved to lay against his chair, pulling the mic with him on its arm.

“There is a reason as to why I haven't done another drunk stream for a while now and it's because of a few of you who kept typing in chat that I shouldn't do it and that you didn't like me doing it because and I can quote this..” Jeongguk took a breath and cleared his throat. “..that I'm your ‘baby’”

He glared at the camera he had set up as a webcam for a second before looking at the raging chat.

“I am no one's ‘baby’ but my partner's,” Jeongguk continued. “And he made me realise that, I am a grown man and that I shouldn't care what you guys think about me, I need to set some boundaries with you guys and you telling me what I can and can't drink, needs to stop, you calling me your ‘baby’ needs to stop because I'm not yours and never will be” His voice grew in aggression a bit.

“So if you don't like that, you can leave, if you tell me what I can and can't drink, you'll be timed out for an hour, if you keep calling me your ‘baby’ I will ban you, because the only person who can is my boyfriend-”

Jeongguk glanced to his right and pulled Taehyung to be standing up beside where he sat and pulled him down by the collar of his jacket to smash their lips together in a heated kiss that slowly calmed the younger man.

They pulled away slowly and Jeongguk turned to look at his chat, which was spamming so fast with messages and emotes about what happened; even a message of someone clipping that part of the stream.

“Oh-” Jeongguk breathed softly before he turned to Taehyung. “Sorry, I-”

“It's okay baby” Taehyung replied as he moved his head to place kisses along Jeongguk's cheek and down to his jaw.

“N-no, I uh I said you were my boyfriend” He whispered to Taehyung away from the microphone.

“And?” Taehyung hummed with a final kiss to the other's heek.

“I wanted to be asked romantically..” He pouted softly.

“We can still do that baby,” Taehyung laughed, he felt endeared by the others' idea. “After the stream we can talk about it more, okay?”

Jeongguk nodded. “Okay” he turned back to the camera and pulled his microphone closer to his mouth.

“So.. chat…” Jeongguk started again, but he saw a few comments in the chat that were all in caps and saying something along the lines of ‘You're gay?! Ew, I can't believe that, what a waste’

“Excuse me? To whoever wrote that comment, I don't even want to say your username because I'm disappointed- and you know what?” Jeongguk huffed as he moved his mouse to the person's name in the chat and left clicked it to bring a pop up of their profile up and banned them.

“There, all gone” He smiled. “Are we clear now?” He asked and the chat just spammed with ‘yes’ and ‘yep’ and ‘crystal’ as he eyed it. “Good.”

“Now if I see another comment like that previous one? Immediate ban” Jeongguk warned.

“Now let's move on from that, shall we? We have a game to check out” He smiled as he loaded up steam and opened up the game. He switched his screen to capture the game and his webcam.

Jeongguk turned his microphone off at the push of a button before turning to Taehyung. “You don't have to stay for the whole stream, I'll be live for a few hours at a most”

Taehyung smiled. “I'll stay, it's okay, do you want me to get you anything?”

“Uhm.. maybe something small to eat later, but I'll let you know when” Jeongguk replied with a smile.

“Okay” Taehyung nodded and Jeongguk turned back to his stream, turning his microphone back on.

“Let's play this first game that has been really popular recently..it's a horror game” Jeongguk started to introduce. “Known as Bad Parenting”

Taehyung watched as Jeongguk reacted to the story, the gameplay and even the sudden, yet, sad twist of the story at the end. There was a moment where he was talking and then he went completely silent. The story was definitely sad which nearly made Jeongguk cry. He was in shock by the story and by the ending.

“Wow..” He took a breath. “That was.. horrible.. so very, very sad too” Jeongguk said to his chat. “What did you guys think of it?”

There were different messages of how shocking the game was and how it was quite eerie due to the graphics of it. How the game did something many were scared to even touch upon and talk about. How you can see how something so horrible can be seen through the eyes of a child.

“Exactly,” Jeongguk nodded as he read his chat. “It does it so well” He said in shock.

Taehyung stood up from the couch and walked to stand behind Jeongguk. He slipped his hands down Jeongguk's shoulders and lifted his chin up.

“Doing okay? Need a drink or something?” Taehyung asked as he tapped three fingers on the underside of his chin.

“Oh, a drink please, I've got some drinks in the fridge” Jeongguk replied.

“What type is there?” Taehyung asked.

“Uh there is some coke, juice, beer and banana milk,” Jeongguk replied.

“Which do you want?” Taehyung asked as he played with the others' earrings.

“Banana milk, please,” Jeongguk nodded.

“Got it” Taehyung smiled and made his way out of Jeongguk's streaming room.

Jeongguk watched as he left the room and smiled. He felt his heart flutter heavily in his chest and he looked back to his chat and there were some messages teasing him.

“Shut up chat” He giggled.

“Kids, his viewership grew from that day, the clip of us kissing went all around the internet and his popularity skyrocketed..”

“But he still made time for us”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 15

I Love You.

“Kids, This is the story of how I confessed my feelings to your father”

“Now it was no easy task as he was streaming more than normal, he couldn't take time away from his stream as he was doing a charity event that lasted up to a week”

Taehyung had quietly entered the other man's apartment with a spare key he was given a while back. He quietly placed a bag full of snacks and food on the kitchen bench. He would make dinner for Jeongguk as a surprise for him. The dinner was steak, a bit of salad and some garlic bread. Nothing too fancy, but something filling for them both.

Taehyung took the two plates in hand and walked to Jeongguk's streaming room, where he sat on his chair, headphones on and stream chat buzzing away. Taehyung laughed softly to himself before walking over and placing one of the plates down with some utensils in hand on the side where Jeongguk's arm wasn't lying.

“Oh my god-” Jeongguk gasped before looking up at Taehyung. “Taehyungie, you didn't need to make me dinner” He let his game continue as it was just at a save point and a cut scene was playing.

“You've been busy with streaming lately, so I wanted to make you something,” Taehyung replied as he placed a kiss upon the other man's cheek.

“Taehyungie..That's so thoughtful-” Jeongguk started to praise him but was cut off.

“I didn't know if you like steak or not, or even garlic bread, so if you don't like it I can make your something else-” Jeongguk paused his game and muted his microphone for a second.

“Tae, I would love anything you make me, I love food, so anything you make me, I will eat it, okay?” He explained whilst taking the other’s hand in his own.

“Okay” Taehyung nodded and gave a smile to Jeongguk. “Don't let it get cold”

“I won't” Jeongguk smiled back and turned back to his stream as he turned his microphone back on. “Hey, chat, we're gonna take a break for about thirty minutes, my boyfriend made me a steak dinner and I want to eat it before it gets too cold, okay?”

The chat spammed with a few ‘okay!’ ‘That's okay!’ And ‘Thank you! I needed to get something to eat but was afraid to miss anything!’ Which made Jeongguk laugh.

“Alright, see you guys soon” Jeongguk waved to his camera as he switched his screen to a ‘Be Right Back’ screen with a push of a button and muted his microphone.

“Alright, just us now” Jeongguk took off his headphones and turned to Taehyung as he picked up his utensils to start eating.

“How long do you do your streams for?” Taehyung asked as he started to cut up his steak and eat a piece of it.

“Sometimes two hours, sometimes five hours, today it's a charity stream so it'll be twelve hours so I am grateful that today of all days you decided to make me dinner,” Jeongguk explained with a smile.

“Twelve hours? Don't you get drained?” Taehyung asked with concern in his tone.

“Every few hours but I take a small break when I need to” Jeongguk nodded as he started to eat his steak and sighed into his first bites with his eyebrows furrowing.

“Wow.. and when you're streaming for charity..events?” Taehyung asked and Jeongguk nodded. “What games do you play?”

“Depends on what's popular or what certain content creators are known for” Jeongguk nodded. “since there is a few franchises that have ten or more games those can be played in order or even out of order and people will be happy”

Taehyung nodded. “And what charity are you raising money for?”

Jeongguk grew silent for a second before glancing at Taehyung for just a second. “Cancer. My grandmother had it and she didn't make it..my parents worked hard to save and use any money they had to pay for her chemo but, it wasn't enough, she was low on time”

Jeongguk stopped eating for a second, his mouth tasted bitter for a second. Only a second. And then he shook his head and continued.

“So you do these events to give to charity so others don't have the same outcome?” Taehyung questioned softly.

“Exactly..” Jeongguk nodded. “Kids, adults, elderly, anyone really, they all need help in some way” He took a bite of the garlic bread with a crunch.

“I think I've fallen in love you”

“W-what” Jeongguk choked on the bite he was chewing and coughed a few times. “Where did that come from?!”

“Just from the admiration I have for you, the love that had been building up over all this time and I realised it when we first kissed-”

“When.. we first kissed?” Jeongguk replied with a shocked tone. “I realised it when you made me look at what Jimin and Hoseok were doing”

“How..-?” Taehyung blinked in confusion.

“The way you moved my head was hot, okay?!” Jeongguk tried to defend himself as he spoke with a pout on his lips.

“Adorable” Taehyung muttered as he took a bite of his own garlic bread.

“Am not” Jeongguk playfully glared back.

“Are too, sweetheart” Taehyung smiled with a quick eyebrow raised.

“Shut-” He huffed. “The steak was amazing, Taehyungie” He tried to change the subject as he turned back to his camera and monitor screen.

“Really?” Taehyung asked. “That's good” he looked at the other's plate and saw it was empty.

“Finished?”

“Yeah, thank you Taehyungie” Jeongguk smiled.

“I'll take your plate out to the dishwasher-” Taehyung stood and picked up the plate and made his way out the door.

“Wait, Taehyungie” Jeongguk stood up and quickly walked over to the man.

“Yes?” Taehyung hummed and then was pulled in for a quick kiss on his lips.

“I almost forgot to give you an answer,” Jeongguk said after he pulled away. “I've fallen in love with you too”

“You're getting a proper kiss when I get back,” Taehyung smirked.

“Be quick, you have ten minutes left” Jeongguk jokingly replied as he watched the other walk out of the streaming room and to the rest of the apartment.

“I will, you brat,” Taehyung shouted across the room.

Jeongguk giggled as he made his way back to his chair and watched the chat just talking to each other and asking what was happening and when he would be back. Others in the chat would answer and people would reply with an emote or a quick thank you. He smiled at his community. Happy that the ones who treated him like a kid left or backed off.

“I'm back” Taehyung said as he came back to the room and slipped a hand under Jeongguk's jaw, using the other to turn the chair around so he could place his lips against the others in a soft, yet passionate kiss.

Jeongguk sighed as he felt the others' lips against his own and almost fell off his seat from the angle he was being kissed at. He slipped his hands around Taehyung's neck to hold himself up and let out a whine when he felt the other left his lips.

“More later, okay?” Taehyung traced the bottom of his lip with his tongue.

“Okay” Jeongguk nodded. “Later” he smiled.

“Now back to your stream I'll be right here” Taehyung nudged the other to face his camera and monitor screen again.

“Okay” Jeongguk nodded. “But more when I take another break, yeah?” He asked with pleading eyes.

“Yes, sweetheart, when you take another break” Taehyung nodded and smiled.

“Kids, your father was practically in my lap at every break he had”

“Was not-!”

“Was too sweetheart”

Notes:

Hi! So I know i said 2 chapters, but just thinking about doing 2 before 11 pm was not making me do it, so it's just one this week.

Also if you haven't seen it, this will end at 20 chapters. Because 1. This hasn't been given a lot of love and it's just making me lose motivation for this one, but I don't want to discontinue it and be that person so I'm gonna quickly wrap it up. 2. I just don't feel it anymore. And 3. I wanna work on that villain one I suggested.

So I purple you 💜💜💜💜

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 16

Wedding Plans

"Kids..Your Uncle's Namjoon and Seokjin spent a very short time deciding on where they want their wedding, however they could not decide on the the flavor of cake they wanted”

“They each liked different flavors, but they didn't like the flavor the other liked, so it took a while to work out..”

“I'm telling you pistachio flavoured cake wouldn't work as a wedding cake” Seokjin huffed as he flipped through a wedding cake magazine.

“What? And you think red velvet cake would?” Namjoon replied as he looked up from a different wedding cake magazine.

“No! There's no flavour!” Seokjin groaned and placed the magazine down before laying back on the couch. “Why is this the hardest part..” He breathed.

Taehyung walked out of his bedroom, hair messy and in a shirt that was slightly too baggy for him. He stopped halfway through the main living room and looked at the two.

“What's the problem with you two?” Taehyung asked as he looked between the two.

“We can't decide on the flavor for the wedding cake,” Seokjin replied, though muffled as he spoke through a sigh.

“Oh- which flavors are you arguing about?” Taehyung asked as he made his way to the kitchen to get something to drink.

“Namjoon wants Pistachio, I want red velvet,” Seokjin replied. “But! Not everyone likes Pistachio, so red velvet is the safer option-”

“Red velvet has no flavour though! It's just chocolate cake but without the chocolate!” Namjoon argued.

“You could just do vanilla or strawberry,” Taehyung shrugged as he walked back out with two water bottles in hand.

“Vanilla is just too plain..” Seokjin groaned.

“And strawberry by itself is overwhelming on the senses” Namjoon pointed out.

“Then both, layered, vanilla and then strawberry, going up” Taehyung replied as he made his way back to his bedroom.

“I hope you let the poor boy sleep last night, Taehyung,” Seokjin teased.

“We didn't do anything other than watch movies last night” Taehyung replied with a shake of his head.

“Then why was there wailing?” Namjoon asked, confused.

“We were watching Avengers: End Game, he was crying because Tony Stark died,” Taehyung explained with a huff. “He didn't even bat an eye at Steve Rogers getting old”

“Who?” Namjoon asked.

“Captain America..” Taehyung replied. “But he's dehydrated right now and so am I, so..” He shook the water bottles in hand. “See you guys soon”

Taehyung made his way back into his bedroom and shut the door behind him. Seokjin looked at Namjoon, who looked back at him with a few blinks of shock.

“So.. vanilla and strawberry then?” Namjoon asked.

“Yeah, that'll work” Seokjin nodded and wrote it down on their notepad they had for the list of things needed. “Uh.. so next up is what colour theme the venue should be because we need to get our suits sorted”

“Do you want to wear a white suit?” Namjoon asked the other. “I'll wear whatever colour you want me to wear, but do you want to wear the white suit”

Seokjin took a second to think. “Yes.” He nodded. “I want you to be in.. maybe a beige or a warm cream colour..” He hummed. “No dark colour”

“Alright” Namjoon nodded. “Is there anything else you want my thoughts on?” He asked.

“Not right now, maybe later,” Seokjin replied. “When I ask about the flowers.. and the place we are going”

“Right..” Namjoon nodded.

“Do you have any ideas about where we should have it?” Seokjin asked.

“I may have an idea as to where” Namjoon smiled. “You remember where your parents got married? In that hotel that had unlimited drinks from the bar?”

“You remembered,” Seokjin smiled. “Of course we can have it there” He felt touched that his fiance remembered such a small detail that he had only mentioned once in passing.

“Well of course I did, if I didn't I would be a bad partner” Namjoon replied with a small smile. “Now when do you want the wedding to take place?”

“If the plans go well and the timing works out, then this coming summer,” Seokjin replied. “But if not then autumn is okay since it'll take place inside”

“Okay, that's okay,” Namjoon nodded. Their conversation was cut short again by Taehyung's door opening and both Taehyung and Jeongguk walked out dressed better than what Taehyung had been before.

“I'll see you later, baby, okay?” Taehyung gave the other smile.

“Uhm..” Jeongguk stopped in his tracks and thought for a second before nodding. “Yes, for dinner before I stream tonight right?”

“Yep” Taehyung nodded back and opened the front door to the apartment to let Jeongguk out.

“Oh! Before I leave! Seokjin hyung, please let me know when the wedding will be, I need to make sure my audience knows that I'm taking a break from streaming to go to it”

“Will do!” Seokjin replied with a smile.

“Thank you-” Jeongguk turned to Taehyung and pulled him in for a quick kiss. “I'll see you later, Taehyungie”

“Yeah..” Taehyung nodded and slowly closed the door behind Jeongguk as he left. “See you later baby”

“You guys were quiet this morning in your room,” Namjoon commented.

“How could he talk when his mouth was full-?” Taehyung teased as he sat down on one of the other chairs they had in the living room space.

“Taehyung!” Seokjin shouted.

“- of water” Taehyung glanced at him with a side eye. “What did you think?”

“Enough to make himself cringe when you two kissed before,” Namjoon replied.

“What? No, we're not ready for that yet” Taehyung replied. “It's too early anyway” He shook his head.

“Anyway, what cake flavour did you decide on?” Taehyung asked.

“Vanilla and Strawberry” Both Seokjin and Namjoon replied.

“Kids, that cake was the best idea I ever gave them..I know this because it was what I had planned for my own later down the line.”

“Was it comfortable changing the flavors if your father wanted something different? Absolutely I was, but he didn't change it, he liked those flavours too”

Notes:

Hi I hope you enjoyed it!

Sorry for the delay, things happen. Bodily things happen that we can't take control of haha.

I wrapped this up at around 6 am because I woke up at 4:30 am because my cat just loves to try and escape her pen when it's way too early in the morning and it wakes me up. 3 nights in a row of this bs because my granddad had 3 early shifts to do, and he woke her up.

Anyway, enough of me rambling. I purple you 💜💜💜

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 17

Wedding Plans Prt 2.

“Kids, you know how your uncle Seokjin gets when he has to make a decision himself, and it's very rare that he asks someone other than your uncle Namjoon, so it was a surprise when he asked your father for some advice on something for the wedding..”

Seokjin sat in the living room of the shared apartment and, apple in hand with a few bites already taken out of it, as he looked over different magazines and different tabs open up on his laptop. What he was looking for was what was the best way to have music playing at the venue, he wasn't sure on a D.J or on creating his own playlist to be playing by Bluetooth around the venue.

He was looking at different options and comparing prices between different speaker systems and different D.J prices seeing what would be cheaper or within the budget he set for it.

Seokjin's thought process was quickly stopped when the apartment door opened and Jeongguk walked in carrying a small plastic bag of convenience store snacks and drinks.

“Oh, Jeongguk, what brings you here?” Seokjin asked as he looked up from his laptop screen.

“Ah, Taehyungie, said to arrive before he got here after work so we can start our small walking date from here to the nearest park” Jeongguk replied as he felt his cheeks warm with blush. “What have you got there?”

“I'm trying to see what would be better for music at the wedding, Bluetooth speakers around the venue or a D.J.. I'm comparing prices too” Soekjin explained with a sigh as he bit into his apple.

“Why not get a live band?” Jeongguk suggested.” It would be significantly cheaper and you can give them the setlist you want them to play”

“A live band?” Seokjin hummed.

“Yeah..” Jeongguk shrugged before he moved to sit down on the seat in front of him. “I know a band back in busan, I actually used to be a back up vocal and bass player for them back in college before I graduated, I still keep in touch with them, I could ask if you'd like”

Seokjin sat there for a second, then looked over at Jeongguk with a shocked expression before he nodded.

“That would be so helpful, thank you Jeongguk, how much do you think their price would be for hire?” Seokjin asked.

“I can ask, but they may deny any money as it may be seen as a favor for me” Jeongguk replied.

“I do wish to pay them though, I don't like not being able to support indie bands” Seokjin huffed before taking a sassy bite of his apple.

“I will let them know, Seokjin-hyung” Jeongguk smiled. “In the meantime, create your setlist for them” He suggested as he leant back against the seat he was in.

“Hey where is Namjoon- hyung?” Jeongguk asked, realising the other wasn't in the room.

“Oh he's at the library studying for a law exam coming up, we've planned the wedding to be after he graduates, which will be next month” Seokjin explained. “It's why I'm doing these final details like music and catering”

“I see,” Jeongguk nodded. “I hope Namjoon-hyung passes”

“I do too,” Seokjin laughs. “Or else, he's not marrying me” He continued jokingly.

“What do you mean babe?!” Namjoon spoke as he stepped into the apartment.

“I was only joking, don't worry!” Seokjin replied as he watched his fiance walk towards him and place a small kiss upon his lips.

“Soo, did you figure out the music yet?” Namjoon asked.

“Yes,” Seokjin replied. “Jeongguk knows a band back in busan and he's going to ask if they want to be the live band at the wedding!” He clapped his hands with enthusiasm.

“Oh wow! Jeongguk I didn't know you knew a band” Taehyung added as he walked in a few seconds after Namjoon.

“Ah! Yeah, Taehyungie, I was a part of it for a short time too, I was a back up vocalist and played bass” The other replied as Taehyung walked around the back of the seat to the front of it and stood in front of it for a second.

He then leant down and picked Jeongguk up and turned and sat down on the seat with Jeongguk in his lap.

“You didn't tell me that,” Taehyung gazed lovingly at the other.

“You didn't ask about it,” Jeongguk replied with a smile.

“So, Jeongguk, how long were you in that band for?” Namjoon asked.

“Oh just briefly, like until they got a proper full time bass player, I could only do a few gigs at a time due to the degree I was pursuing, and it was holding the band back..” Jeongguk explained.

“But they're understanding about it, they knew my schedule back then, and it's all okay,” he nodded.

“Do you think they will be willing to be a live band?” Seokjin asked.

Jeongguk nodded again. “Of course! Any gig is good for them, I can send a message to the front man soon- I could do it now if you'd like?”

“Oh yeah! Please do!” Seokjin urged.

Jeongguk pulled out his phone and tapped away at it, going through his different apps sorted in folders to get to the more commonly used app he uses, Discord, and send a quick direct message to the front man.

“He's active so he should reply soon” Jeongguk muttered and watched as he saw the front man typing with three dots appearing and a message came through.

“He said he'd be happy to do it, just let him know the date, time and place” Jeongguk smiled at Seokjin.

“Thank you so much Jeongguk!” Seokjin exclaimed. “You're a lifesaver”

“Nah, It's nothing” Jeongguk shook his hand and leant back against Taehyung's chest.

“It's not nothing baby” Taehyung hummed in his ear as he placed a small kiss against the shell of his ear.

“Definitely, the fact you knew of a band helps a lot!” Seokjin urged with the other two men nodding in agreement.

“Well.. I guess so.. anyway make sure you have the setlist made and ready- like around now to allow them to rehearse it” Jeongguk said as he realised the timing and his eyes widened.

“Oh, well should get to work on that Joonie” Seokjin turned to Namjoon.

“Yeah” The other nodded. “And we'll send the list to you, with the details of when it is, so you can send it to them”

“Cool, easy” Jeongguk nodded.

“Kids, that part went smoothly, the whole planning for the wedding was the smoothest part, the worse was coming..”

How I Met Your Father

Chapter 18

48 hours until the wedding

“Where is the cake?!” Seokjin shouted as he ran down the hall of the building they were both staying in and hosting the wedding.

“Where are the flowers?!” Namjoon shouted as he ran the opposite direction from Seokjin.

Kids.. There was less than 48 hours until the wedding and things were going south, the cake hadn't shown up when scheduled, the flowers were late, not to mention their suits weren't in their bags and were being shipped right to the rooms…”

“Your uncle's were freaking out, running up and down halls and screaming loudly..”

Taehyung stepped out of his room just in time to see Namjoon running down the hall shouting about the flowers.

“What's going on..?” Taehyung asked no one in particular.

“Taehyung!” Seokjin yelled as he ran towards him. Placing his hands upon Taehyung's shoulders and shaking him. “The flowers and cake haven't shown! Our suits will be delivered later today, hopefully, if not tomorrow and worst of all!”

Taehyung blinked trying to get himself to focus when Seokjin stopped shaking him and took a breather.

“My parents are arriving soon!” He exclaimed and let go of the other.

“Well, for one, let me shut the door because you've probably woken up Jeonggukie..” Taehyung stepped out of the room and shut the door quietly. “Secondly, things will arrive, have you called the cake shop?”

“Oh..” Seokjin breathed. “No, I haven't..”

“Okay, well, give them a call- a calm one, and I'll call up the florist, we'll ask what's happening and for any updates, okay?” Taehyung explained calmly.

“Okay” Seokjin nodded. “Thank you Taehyung-”

“The flowers! Where are they!!” Namjoon shouted again as he ran towards them.

“Joonie, calm down, Taehyung is gonna call them to ask for an update and I'll call the cake shop to ask for an update there” He took a breath calmly.

Namjoon took a breath as well. “Okay, thank you Taehyung, it means a lot-”

“Also my parents are nearly here and Joonie forgot to ask for their blessing” Seokjin glared at his soon to be husband.

“He.. forgot?” Taehyung asked in shock before turning to Namjoon. “You forgot?”

“I know, I know, hopefully you don't forget Taehyung-” Namjoon groaned.

“I didn't kids”

“Okay, well, I'll go make the call to the florist and see what's happening, you guys go call the cake shop, okay?” Taehyung explained.

“Okay” The other two nodded and went back to their shared room leaving Taehyung to walk back into his shared room with Jeongguk.

Taehyung carefully shut the door again and walked over to where his phone was charging on the bedside table. He sat down and picked up his phone to open it and look for the florist's number Seokjin messaged him during the planning process.

He felt some movement behind him and heard some shuffling with a sigh; Jeongguk's breath hitting his exposed arm.

“What's going wrong?” Jeongguk asked with a groggy voice from sleep as he sat up and placed his chin on Taehyung's shoulder burying his face into Taehyung's neck with a tired sigh.

“The cake hadn't arrived as scheduled, the flowers are running late and Seokjin is calling the cake shop and I said I'll call the florist,” Taehyung explained as he brought the phone up to his ear.

“Hmm okay then” Jeongguk sighed, his breath hitting Taehyung's neck. “But after you need to help me to the bathroom, my legs are dead because of you” Jeongguk giggled and kissed the other's neck softly.

“Will do baby” Taehyung nodded and sighed from the kiss as he heard the phone pick up.

“Hello, this is Forever Love, What can I do to help?” The preppy, happy female asked over the phone.

“Hi! Yes, uhm.. my friend had ordered some flowers for his wedding from you guys and it seems to be running late in the delivery, we just wanted an update on that if possible” Taehyung replied as he felt Jeongguk move around his body to lay his head on Taehyung's lap.

“Oh! Yes, we can check that I just need a name for the order” the woman replied, the sound of her moving her phone to be played down was heard.

“Kim Seokjin” Taehyung replied as he started to run his fingers through Jeongguk's hair to try and fix his bed head.

“Kim.. Seokjin..” The woman mumbled. “Ah yes! That order should be arriving soon, but there seems to be some traffic on the way up to the location”

Taehyung let out a relieved breath. “Oh! I see! Okay thank you, I'll let the grooms know, thank you so much”

“It's not a problem! Have a lovely rest of your day!” The woman replied before hanging up.

“So what's up?” Jeongguk asked as he sat up with a hiss through his teeth.

“Traffic jam, should be here soon” Taehyung replied as he placed his phone back on the nightstand and stood up. “I should go let Seokjin know-”

“Just text him” Jeongguk smiled, innocent yet there was something else behind it. “I want you to myself right now and in the bathroom”

“You mence~” Taehyung teased as he practically pounced onto Jeongguk, pushing him back against the bed. “Sure I can text him”

“But no, funny business whilst we are in the bathroom..I don't think I'll be able to walk around and help Seokjin out if we go again..” Jeongguk pouted. He really, genuinely, wanted to help out.

“I can promise that, but I don't know if you can promise that,” Taehyung teased as he sat up to pick his phone back up to text Seokjin about the update.

“I totally can!” Jeongguk glared at Taehyung as he sat up. “I'm not sure you can though, with how you kept calling me sexy all night long~”

Taehyung raised an eyebrow and placed his phone back down. “Oh, that's so funny, coming from the person begging for my big, fat cock-”

Jeongguk slammed his hand over Taehyung's mouth as he felt his ears heat up. “Shut.. up-”

Taehyung laughed from behind Jeongguk's hand and slowly pulled it away from his lips. “I love you”

Jeongguk smiled. “I love you too”

“Kids, the flowers arrived an hour later, the cake an hour after that due to the same circumstances; traffic.. your father could barely walk but he did help Seokjin out..Seokjin's parents arrived after the cake and well, both Namjoon and him had a lot of explaining to do”
