Suddenly, his phone starts ringing. It's the middle of the night, so who the hell is still awake? He picks the phone up, checking the caller ID. Of course, who else would have the audacity to call at this hour.
“ Gambler, are you aware of what time it is? I don't have the energy to deal with your incompetence right now, what is it?”
“ Hey, sorry, doc, but could you help me out? I'm on a mission and it kind of went south, hah...”
“ Why are you calling me then? Call Jade or one of your subordinates. ”
“ You're the only one who picked up.”OR
Aventurine's mission goes sideways and he's the only one who got a chance to call for help, but nobody from the IPC is available, so he called Ratio, who ( coincidentally ) happens to be awake.
