Chapter Text

Kai ran her fingers through Lloyd's hair lightly scratching his head every once in awhile making him purr softly 

She couldn't believe they were able to find each other again after the merge of course the two were still looking for the others

But it was rather hard when so many things didn't make sense at least they knew where Nya was but she was busy dealing with stuff

Kai will check on her younger sister later it was her destiny to protect Lloyd it's how she unlocked her true potential all those years ago

Lloyd nuzzled Kai's thighs yawning she smiled at him remembering when he had first let his guard down around her just like this 

Something about her element draws in dragons or other creatures who loved the warmth she always wondered if her papa had the same issues

Kai will find them again Nya and hers parents as well as Garmadon Lloyd always missed that man Kai can understand it

Even if she didn't like lord Garmadon she found Garmadon himself was not so bad actually he loved his son 

"Hey Kai" Lloyd turned so he could look at her "Do you think everyone's okay out there?"

"I'm sure they are" Kai has the same worries as Lloyd but she can't let him worry more than this "they're strong and too petty to let something take them out"

"Unless it's Zane" Lloyd muttered frowning Zane's stunt with the overlord had left them all traumatized especially Kai she took it the hardest

As did Pixal actually Lloyd had been surprised neither woman kept in touch they both had taken Zane's death the hardest 

"He never stays gone for long" Kai hates remembering the time Zane had 'died' it left her in a dark time 

"I guess" Lloyd froze did he ever apologized for what he had said back then to Kai? He doesn't think he did so busy with other things "Kai um...about what I said when I found you again"

Kai sighed already seeing where he was going with this she hadn't blamed him so young thrown into a teen body and forced to deal with it

"I'm really sorry I don't think you're selfish" Lloyd had when he was younger but now he can see what Kai really was 

"It's alright grasshopper" Kai's voice was soothing which made Lloyd relax happy she hadn't been angry with him now for it

"They're so dating" Sora eyed their senseis Kai and Lloyd well that's what Arin started calling them randomly 

Lloyd didn't seem to like it being called sensei made him freak out and act panicky saying his never been one before

And Kai always got a dark look on her face and clenched fists not that Arin noticed always too excited to call the two sensei 

She noticed it though Sora isn't the best with others emotions sometimes when she doesn't have all the pieces but something about the word sensei messes with Lloyd and Kai

Arin's told her about sensei Wu and Garmadon but Sora can't remember it all there's just so much information given at once

"I mean maybe" Arin's voice snapped Sora out of her wandering thoughts "they've known each other for a long time"

"I think they make a cute couple" Sora smiles watching Kai run her fingers through Lloyd's hair as they talked

Arin nodded in agreement they would look nice as a couple sensei Lloyd and sensei Kai balanced each other out in his opinion 

Sensei Lloyd always looked to sensei Kai when overwhelmed the fire master would come to his rescue no matter what

Even the colors looked nice together! Red and green it was pretty to see and green could be a flame color so it worked even more!

Sensei Lloyd could also calm sensei Kai's anger and boy did their sensei get angry at things apparently though they haven't even seen the bad side of it yet 

Arin definitely didn't want to see that and he doubts Sora would either though she did seem to cling a little to sensei Kai more than sensei Lloyd

Lloyd sat up ears twitching he felt like they were being watched and it made his skin crawl

Kai tilted her head watching Lloyd closely "Something wrong greenie?" She asked softly

"Someone's watching us" Lloyd whispered back eyes panicked she frowned

Kai covered Lloyd's eyes with her hands so he didn't have them pop out his head or something

"Calm down" She kept her tone soothing to keep him from panicking worse "it's probably the kids"

Lloyd gulped licking his lips nodding his head Kai moved her hands off of his face

"Don't worry" Kai ruffled his hair smiling "if it was a threat they'd already show themselves"

"Right that's true" Lloyd relaxed slightly he still felt on edge but Kai's words helped

Sora pulled Arin away from their senseis seeing the way Lloyd had panicked

"Let's go" Sora didn't like the way Lloyd looked around panicked

"But" Arin sighed nodding his head "Yeah your right we should give them privacy"

Sora dragged Arin to whee Riyu was the dragon perking up as they got closer

"Riyu" Sora smiled letting go of Arin to hug the dragon "Tell Arin to stop being nosy"

"Hey! Your nosy as well" Arin crossed his arms Sora laughed at him

Riyu looked between the two and they both could tell the dragon was confused

"Don't worry about it Riyu" Arin came over patting Riyu's head smiling "it isn't important"

"Just Arin betting on our teachers relationship" Sora said casually making Arin groan

"You started it Sora" Arin pointed out and well he had her there

Riyu made a odd sound he knew better Lloyd even if appearing to be adult smelt much younger

And his seen the human dragon-oni hybrid acting as a child around just Kai

He doesn't think the two would ever date but Riyu isn't sure how to tell Arin and Sora that

Maybe they'll figure it out by themselves or someone else could tell them

Until then Riyu at least knows the truth or some part of it on Kai and Lloyd's relationship

Kai yawned leaning against the bounty railings as Lloyd flew it Sora and Arin were cuddling with Riyu nearby

"Soooo kids" Kai looked over at the three and yes she's definitely counting Riyu as a kid look at the little guy! "Who would you want to meet next?"

Sora frowned clearly actually trying to think while Arin perked up Riyu curled up between the two more yawning

"It'd be so cool meeting everyone!" Arin sounded way too excited for it being so early in the morning "maybe Cole?"

"I think Nya would be fun" Sora shrugged she can't remember every single person Arin told her about but Nya seemed like a good person

"Ah Ny" Kai grinned running a hand through her hair "Yeah my sis is pretty cool not as cool as me though but still cool"

"Kai" Lloyd raised an eyebrow at her when she looked at him "Samurai x" was all he said Kai rolled her eyes crossing her arms

"Volcano" Kai said back Lloyd sighed loudly like a dramatic little shit "Darkly's" She continued eyes narrowed

"Wait" Lloyd paled Kai grinned at him "no girls tree house" Kai pushed herself off the railing voice light and teasing 

"NO!" Lloyd whined embarrassed he thought that was forgotten about but here Kai was bringing it up that's horrible 

During the rest of the trip Kai kept saying vague things making Lloyd look ready to cry she stopped when something hit the bounty 

They had to do a crash landing which then ended up with them in a fight between two creatures until water shot at the ones they were helping

Kai lit up seeing the woman that followed the water while Lloyd looked ready to actually give up Arin made a squealing sound Sora and Riyu moved away from him

The moment the fight was over Kai screamed out a quick "Nya!" And ran to her sister hugging her tightly Nya hugged her back clinging to her

"Hey Kai Lloyd" Nya looked at the others with her siblings eyeing the kids and dragon "others who look too young to even be here who's kids are these?"

"Ours" Lloyd shook his head joining the two women hugging both "Good to see you're okay Nya was worried about you"

Nya smiled letting Kai and Lloyd go she took her mask off "Worried about me? Please unlike someone" she looked at Lloyd "I can take care of myself"

"So can I" Lloyd crossed his arms grumbling Kai rolled her eyes linking arms with Nya "So tell me alllll about your adventures sis and if you've found any of the others"

Nya nodded leading Kai off the two talking in hushed tones Lloyd sighed running a hand through his hair he wanted to follow his older sisters

But he didn't want to hear about Nya's relationship with Jay sure his in an adults body but that doesn't mean he was an adult or at least he wasn't close to it

The whole aging tea messed Lloyd up thankfully his sisters and the others were able to keep track for him while Lloyd panicked and rushed into training

He wished he didn't have to that none of them had to but they did and had there's no changing that and Lloyd isn't sure he'd want to

Because if he does that means he loses his family and gets stuck with Darkly's or the serpentine maybe even something worse than that

"Sensei?" Lloyd turned to Sora hearing her voice he tried to look put together for the kids someone had to be the adult when the actual adults weren't here "are we going to follow them?"

Lloyd shook his head "No they're just going to talk about boys" he rolled his eyes he loves Jay really the guys great but one can only handle their sister rambling about her lover before it's too much

Arin and Sora shared a look surprised that Lloyd was okay with Kai talking about other guys with Nya don't men usually dislike when their partners do that?

"And your okay with it?" Arin asked curious about how it worked aren't dragons normally possessive of what is theirs? Or does it not work like that because Lloyd is also oni and human?

Lloyd stared at Arin confused why would he not be okay with Kai talking to Nya about boys? Besides the fact that was gross and he doesn't need to hear it

"Why wouldn't I be?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow at the look Arin and even Sora gave him "okay clearly I'm missing something here"

"So I wasn't expecting Lloyd to be a teacher" Nya really didn't Kai she can get her older sister somewhat liked teaching when she well yeah 

Being one with the ocean and all that changed them all Nya the most she still sometimes can hear it calling her back

It made her skin crawl just thinking about the sea calling her even if it was all in her head and Nya isn't sure it was

"Nya" Kai was looking at her worried she smiled at her older sister there wasn't any need to worry the older woman

"Too late you were mumbling I heard a good bit of it" Kai frowned leaning close to her younger sister who tensed up

"It's probably in my head" Nya said weakly Kai hummed instead of saying anything it was her offering Nya to keep talking if she wanted

And oh did Nya want to now that Kai already heard that she was nervous one day she'd go back to the sea and not be able to be human again

"I'm nervous sometimes it's so loud" Nya said after a few moments of quiet Kai nodded holding her tightly it was oddly soothing 

"I can't imagine how hard that is for you" Kai whispered she knows Nya is strong but that was scary to think her sister was dealing with that still after all these years

Nya felt relieved that Kai didn't call her crazy or act like she was going to go off and become one with the sea again just because she said it out loud

"It's overwhelming at times but being here helping it makes it less" Nya could push it away when she had others to help to protect 

"I won't tell anyone" Kai promised suddenly Nya squeezed her arm smiling thankfully at her "I'll just make sure you have stuff to do"

"Yeah?" Nya chuckled this is why she can still talk with Kai the older woman knew when not to say stuff to others like when she was samurai x

Ah she missed those times though Pixal did do a good job being it as well even if that was Nya's thing first and she kinda still felt hurt on Pixal taking over

"Now let me tell you about Lloyd being a teacher" Kai grinned Nya couldn't help grinning back at her oh she'd definitely love this

"Please tell me all~ about this~" Nya needed the blackmail and Kai would tell her the things she could safely use against their younger brother

Chapter Text

After going back to the monastery things were awkward Sora seemed to enjoy hanging around Nya the two bonding over making stuff

But Arin kinda didn't have anything to bond over with her even Riyu bonded with the master of water before he could

And it's great that they can bond with the older ninja but Arin is jealous that he hasn't been able to and the one thing he could try would probably not go over well

Like they both had their parents ripped away so can't they bond over that? He didn't risk it with Kai either simply because he hadn't needed to

Kai was easy to get along with so was Lloyd though they made him miss his parents more than he already did

He hoped they were okay out there Arin really wanted to find them soon but they haven't been able to find any leads

And it sucks it really sucks it feels too much sometimes the worry and anxiety of not knowing where they were 

If they were okay or even alive still but Arin had to hope they were alive because if he didn't then he doesn't know if he could keep going

So he'll just try and distract his brain from it all by finding a way to bond with Nya surely there's a way for them to?

Maybe he could ask his senseis if they knew anything he could use to bond with Nya he'd like to be able to

I'm really sorry yall I've tried staying in for this fic but from being sick and dealing with personal issues I don't think I can keep this one up so I have the plans still if anyone wants those though if I get my life together again I can pick this back up<3
