Work Text:
Builderman laid on the cozy office chair that sat in front of Roblox’s desk. He usually used it for other coworkers to sit in while they discussed office business. Builderman dinked around with his phone when all of a sudden, the volume of some song blasted from its speakers. Roblox jumped at the sudden loud sound as the idiot in front of him scrambled to shut it off.
“Sorry, Roblox. My headphones died, and I didn't realize I left my volume up that high.” He sputtered his apology, genuinely not meaning to break Roblox from his work. Builderman smiled awkwardly, trying to remove the sudden tensity in the now deafeningly silent room. “Well, if you don’t mind, could I play my music aloud since my headphones died..?” He inquired, “I promise I’ll keep the volume as low as I can, I know you have work to do.”
Roblox nodded reluctantly. He had work to do, but a subtle play of music in the background was far better than awkward silence being broken by Builderman laughing at something stupid on his phone or an attempt at some small talk. “Sure, but I’m working, so if that music gets too loud, you’re turning it off. Got it?” He demanded, already being done with the day and just wanting to rest.
Builderman nodded, “Yeah, I’ll turn on a playlist with some songs I think you’ll like. Might help your work be a little more enjoyable.” He smiled, changing the music and double checking the volume was down. ‘Back to the Old House’ by The Smiths began playing, causing him to look up at Roblox. “This an okay volume?” He questioned, not wanting his music to be shut down on the first song.
“Yeah. It’s fine.” He assured, continuing on with his work. He read over papers, trying to focus too hard on Builderman’s hums of rhythms and mumbles of song lyrics. Although it didn't make his work even slightly enjoyable, the music did help him relax a bit. His head perked up, recognizing the opening tune to the song that had begun. ‘Wouldn't It Be Nice’ by The Beach Boys. He enjoyed this song, it reminded him in a way of Builderman. “Wait.” Builderman paused the song and looked up at him, making sure everything was alright. “No, no. Don’t pause it. Just… turn it up.” He mumbled, a weird desire washing over him.
“Oh, alright!” He complied, unpausing the song and turning up the volume. He raised his eyebrows in shock as Roblox stood up and walked away from his desk towards him. “Is something wrong Roblox..?” He quizzed, filled with genuine concern, worried something was wrong.
Roblox just nodded at him in response, stopping right in front of Builderman. He stretched his arm out like he was helping him up. Builderman took his hand, standing himself up, but Roblox didn’t let go. Instead, he gently pulled his arm up in the air near his head. He shifted his hand slightly, lining up their fingers, so they intertwined with one another. Builderman remained speechless as Roblox rested his freehand on his waist. He smiled softly at Builderman, gently humming the rhythm.
Builderman’s face began to redden as he examined Roblox’s smile. He wasn’t the type of person to smile often, if at all. Time seemed to slow down, the only thing that mattered now was him, Roblox, and their song. He felt Roblox press his body closer to his own. He guided Builderman as his body moved, being controlled by the music.
They looked into eachothers eyes, both being mesmerized as if this was the moment they fell in love all over again. Although the lyrics sung, it wasn’t the main focus, all they could do was be fascinated with the other and how amazing they looked. They danced in each other’s arms around the office before stopping in front of the window. The sun had begun to set, the golden rays reflecting off of the two men’s figures, making them look even greater to the other. One of the lyrics stuck out distinctively, almost as if it was a sign.
“I wish that every kiss was never ending”
Time completely stopped, their eyes locked onto the other’s. Roblox’s expression softened, his mouth hung open ever so slightly, but just for a moment. His hands let go of Builderman’s figure before swooping up and cupping his cheeks as he leaned in, his head slightly angled sideways. Their lips gently met, initiating a kiss. Builderman hesitated for a moment, astonished that what's happening is really.. real. After taking a second to process, he replied by wrapping his arms around Roblox’s waist, gently hugging him. Neither of them wanted to pull away. Ever. Just like the lyric, they wished it would never end. But eventually, it did. They pulled away slowly, regaining their breath. A moment had barely even passed, but Builderman already missed the feeling of Roblox’s tender lips pressed against his. It felt so.. serene.
Each of their hands continued to remain on the other’s body, despite the fact the kiss ended. All that could manage to come out was a mellow “wow..” from Builderman. They continued to embrace and study each other, causing blush to creep up onto both of their cheeks.
Builderman’s smile grew as he chuckled slightly, “This isn’t exactly ‘work’ Roblox.” He teased, relaxing his arms making them fall back down to his sides.
“Oh shut up.” Roblox sneered, playfully pushing Builderman away by his face. He shook his head, walking back to his desk and sitting back down. For the first time in a while, he had a smile on his face as he worked.
