When his old charge, Hyacinthus falls ill, he must make a difficult choice to take his patient and run when political unrest drives them from the palace. At the urging of his father, Teleclus takes Hyacinthus away, reminiscing of his childhood under the care of his older brother Asclepius, the great healer.
