When Amazonite was transferred to Yellow Diamonds Court she was in shambles, Pink Diamonds shattering was something nobody expected and grief was a feeling she definitely wasn’t expecting to be this strong.
At first it was denial, a strong belief that is was all a lie, it doesn’t matter if she saw it with her own 2 eyes, she refused to believe the dark truth, she didn’t want to think about it, much preferring to think that the Diamonds wanted to hide Pink for some reason.
Anger creeped its way to her like a snake ready to strike from the deepest and darkest corners of her fogged up mind. “Why would they want to make all of Pinks court suffer like this? What did we do wrong?!” Were some of the questions she kept asking herself.
Through all of this she couldn’t be more grateful to have Fairy Quartz, her bestest of friends, her most trusted solider. From listening to her venting to cuddling her and carrying her around Fairy did it all, Amazonite found it very calming to be held and cradled like a baby.
The moment she heard that they wanted to move Fairy Quartz to Pinks zoo where all the gems made on Earth were moved she asked them to leave Fairy as her personal guard, Rubes being too “small” to be able to protect her, but in reality she just didn’t want to be away from her pillar.
When bargaining came around she, Amazonite, thought she was going insane. While the anger stage made her feel angry at herself the bargaining made her be angry at everyone who even made the smallest mistake, the conflict going on inside her blurred mind too much to handle for her frail mental state. Trying to stay devoted to Yellow and replace Pink with her was something Amazonite just didn’t realize she started doing, but oh…who could ever replace Pink? Her joyful aura, her smile and her laughter were something she never found again in anyone, maybe she’d seen small glimpses of it in Fairy, but you could never replace someone like Pink.
Amazonite tried distracting herself with work when the depression stage came around, doing what she could to take her mind off of the incident, but soon came to the realization that that wasn’t the smartest idea she’s had so far in her life, a deep crack forming around her gem. When Yellow Diamond came to know of this she ordered the warrior to take breaks, to stop and think about her well being for the sake of their perfect empire.
Amazonite did exactly what the had Diamond asked, not like she had a choice anyway. The next 500 years were the longest of her life, the Hessonites took on the workload she wasn’t gives so she started traveling the Universe with Fairy Quartz. Most of these trips included visiting Pinks colony, Earth.
Watching the landscapes while being comforted by Fairy, the creatures living there and its weird behavior were something Amazonite had never seen before on a planet, she found it comforting, knowing that she wasn’t the only one different from others.
The two slowly started visiting the planet more frequently and one day she, Amazonite, decided to take a human and bring it to Pink’s human zoo, but to who? Not like she was still here…
Here, at the zoo, was where she first saw Holly Blue Agate, and Amazonite would lie if she were to say that she disliked the guardian of the zoo, she found her interesting, she found they understood each other.
As time passed by Amazonite started visiting the zoo more and more and feelings for Holly Blue started growing, but she pushed them deep down and tried locking them away in the back of her mind, but love is a strong feeling, a feeling which you cannot ignore, so they kept coming back up, again and again and again, she kept locking them away until she couldn’t anymore. She could argue the grief washed away as these feelings flooded back to her, every time she’d look at Holly Blue.
Amazonite decided to tell Fairy Quartz about this, hoping her friends advice would guide her through the right path as always, and the advice she got was to tell Holly Blue and so she did, and that’s how their relationship started.
They both knew it wouldn’t last, it couldn’t last, by this point Amazonite started accepting the truth of Pink’s shattering, 4000 years later. She started picking up more work like she used to, she hated feeling useless.
Amazonite slowly stopped visiting, bringing another human as a gift on her last visit, with a letter, a letter which Holly Blue didn’t see. She couldn’t talk about it, the Diamonds could find out and Holly would have gotten shattered, that would have broken Amazonite’s heart like it was once broken by the love of her life dying.
